In January 1944, Norma Jeane and her husband Jim Dougherty (Took the photos) visited William Wrigley's Bird Park on Santa Catalina Island.
Photograph noted by marilyn's hand:
"This picture was taken at wrigley birk park. the bird on my arm is a hornbill (it is suppose to be the only one in existance that anyone has ever been photographed with."
Recently I visited Asia's largest bird paradise. The Bird Park is an aviary and bird sanctuary located in Jurong, Singapore. If you haven't visited this place before then you must visit it. It has close to 3500 birds across 400 species. It is famed for impressive aviaries like Lory Loft and unique exhibits like the penguin coast. The most exciting part is feeding starlings and other African birds. The high flyer shows are amazing, you get to witness the world's largest flock of birds swoop into centre stage. A high flying symphony of colors. If you are a bird lover, then you will fall in love with that place.
[image id: a four-page comic. it is titled "immortality” after the poem by clare harner (more popularly known as “do not stand at my grave and weep”). the first page shows paleontologists digging up fossils at a dig. it reads, “do not stand at my grave and weep. i am not there. i do not sleep.” page two features several prehistoric creatures living in the wild. not featured but notable, each have modern descendants: horses, cetaceans, horsetail plants, and crocodilians. it reads, “i am a thousand winds that blow. i am the diamond glints on snow. i am the sunlight on ripened grain. i am the gentle autumn rain.” the third page shows archaeopteryx in the treetops and the skies, then a modern museum-goer reading the placard on a fossil display. it reads, “when you awaken in the morning’s hush, i am the swift uplifting rush, of quiet birds in circled flight. i am the soft stars that shine at night. do not stand at my grave and cry.” the fourth page shows a chicken in a field. it reads, “i am not there. i did not die” / end id]
a comic i made in about 15 hours for my school’s comic anthology. the theme was “evolution”
American Woodcock demonstrates "distal rhynchokinesis," the ability to flex the end of its bill. This allows it to grab earthworms it encounters when probing in soil. Other shorebirds, including Dunlins & Sanderlings, can bend their bills in this way. 😃

But as I look down at this child of mineI know that one day, many years from nowIt will be you
You’ll reach out to take my handTo keep me steady and to lead the way
And so it must go as the seasons passThe child will truly be the father of the man
I went to the bird park with some friends today. It's like a zoo, but there's only birds.
We all had a great time except we all walked out with pelican related trauma that I will not specify. I am not exaggerating when I say trauma. We walked in loving pelicans now we hate them.
Also I am trying to fall asleep right now, but whenever I close my eyes, I see birds and something very primal in the back of my head is terrified. I do not have a bird phobia.
I do actually advise everyone to go to the bird park when visiting northern Germany, it's great! 10/10 would go there again. Name is in the tags
