Rings of Power fans, let's do a thing...

I have seen way too many negative takes on this show today, so I want to do something for the people who do enjoy this show:

Reblog this with your favorite thing (or things) about Rings of Power. Whether that be characters, scenes, ships, or anything else, reblog this post with your thoughts. I want to connect with the side of the community that enjoys watching the show or who got into Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit because of The Rings of Power, because that's how I got into it. <3

I'll go first: I love Galadriel's character (even though most would disagree) and I love the way they did her storytelling throughout the show! I can't wait to see her in the movies as I have yet to watch them!

I thought Kim's portrait looking a little like the Rising Moon Hanafuda card was just a neat coincidence but I actually like the idea of Kim symbolising a moonrise instead of a sunrise. the Sun is the brightest star in the sky and when it's gone the Moon keeps reflecting its light. what if (if you play him as a huge communard) Harry dies just like Mazov and Kim becomes the "echo maker", the one who spreads his message

i think we as a community should start thinking EVEN MORE about how bad boos misses ted

not just the fact that he misses his laugh, his smile, corny jokes. etc

but the more intricate things too. that he misses him so much that he still orders for the both of them because it feels wrong if he doesnt. he recites ted sandwich order like its fine poetry, and will eat both sandwiches even though ted always ordered with extra tomatoes.

booster has hated tomatoes his whole life, but lately theyve been taste like home.

I think that people calling Dracgoona "queerbaiting" because Gil is going to appear in the cartoon are very pesimistic.

The core part of Lagoona's character is that she is pretty desperate for love, and that she's willing to accept anyone who gives it to her (look at Barkimedes in "Horrorscare"). That is also her main character flaw- that she has a view of love and relationships based on telenovelas she watched, and not thanks to actual lived experience. It would absolutely not suprise me if Lagoona would project all her expectations (which are impossible to achieve) onto Gil and suffocate him, leading to tension and, possibly, breakup. I think that it would be a good lesson for Lagoona, that you can't just expect another person to be the perfect image of what they should be in your head, and you have to accept them as they are.

And Lagoona accepts Draculaura the way she is! She accepts that she's a witch, and she has no expectations towards her, letting Draculaura to just be herself around her!

So if I had to guess how Gil's subplot will go, I'd say it's either:

1. Lagoona and Gil try dating, but they find out they don't work together well and remain friends.

Or 2. Lagoona and Gil stay as a couple, but they learn that there's a lot of work ahead of them, but they're willing to give it a try.

Regardless, I don't think that Gil will just seamlessly become Lagoona's bf with no obstacles on the road, and I don't think that Gil's appearance or even him dating Lagoona is inherently a sign that Dracgoona can't happen.

im still formulating this headcanon but i am 100% convinced hunter's new palisman waffles is a straight up bitch. and we love her for that

justification ok hunter had a nice palisman in his #badboy #sadboy era to teach him about making friends and being nice. now that is 1. no longer a child soldier and 2. in his growth era, he needs a palisman to teach him to establish boundaries and value himself!! a little counterbalance to the guilt and self-loathing kinda. kinda skulking around the corner there

A Small but Lovely Detail from The Rings Of Power That I Love Is...

The way Elrond says Galadriel's name. The way he says it is just so pretty. He speaks it so uniquely compared to the other characters and I adore how beautiful he makes it sound. I don't know, it's just something I love, and it is satisfying to hear when I watch the show. I think it's in his pronunciation, like he says every piece of her name separately but together at the same time. Does that make sense?? This might be a whole lot of my overanalyzing every tiny detail nonsense and it may be such a small thing to note, but I can't help but admire it every time I hear him say "Galadriel." I don't know if that's a weird thing to think about, but it's something that's stuck with me ever since I watched the show.

And even the way Galadriel says Elrond's name is wonderful too. You can tell how close these two are just by how they address each other each time they reunite. They are THE besties of all time and their friendship means everything to me.

If there are two things I am always going to be obsessed with it's going to be people's/character's names and people's/character's voices and/or speaking traits. I always find it fascinating.

I think that it would be fun if, down the line, Lagoona had crushes on like six different characters or something, with different genders. It would be a Diversity Win that's also treated as not a big deal in universe, since I assume there's no homophobia in MH, plus it would fit Lagoona's story and character, given how she's obsessed with love and romance tropes.

Like- a cute guy helped her pick food in the creepateria? Boom, crush. A pretty girl picked up her pencil during class and their hands touched? In love, like that. Some monster shared their snacks with her during lunch break? Lagoona is already drawing their wedding in her notebook

I wonder sometimes if the "the curtains are just fucking blue the author didn't think about the colour" tendency springs in part from the way school presents literature and technique. I mean, if you change the perspective on it then maybe you can sell this to kids as something they can use when they tell a story. Like, colour can be a tool. You can subtly influence the mood with the light you describe. If you know your shit, then curtains are a weapon in your storytelling arsenal.
