He seems uncomfortable. It’s the way he shifts his weight from one leg to the other—it’s how his fingers fidget within the pockets of his sweater. Raihan seems off—maybe because the chairman is supposed to be by today…And that is a meeting he wants to avoid all together.

So Fine
Leon x F!Reader, Smut
Requested by anon: Hi! Could I request a childhood friends to lovers smut fic with Leon? Like Raihan, Leon, Sonia and Y/n were all rivals, and both raihan and y/n become the dragon type gym leaders, and the whole group parties together and drinks together, and it’s on one of those nights that Leon finally makes a move. (Female reader. Also I absolutely adore your fics They’re so well written💗 keep it up bb)
A/N: a’ight so the partying bit is nonexistent and the drinking is mentioned only bc I’ve never partied and I hope I never will. Drink responsibly y’all. Or don’t drink at all, that is also okay. Also, everyone is coherent and everything in the fic is consensual.
Word Count: 3k
Warnings: There’s NSFW up ahead!
The Wild Area is quiet, almost eerie in the silence of the night, broken by the soft sounds of childrens’ voices.
You and Leon sit around Charizard’s lit tail, warming yourselves before you head into your camp to turn in for the night. Leon is talking about how he wants to head in the direction of the Dusty Bowl- if he can find it.
“Maybe I should try to get someplace that isn’t the Dusty Bowl,” he muses. “I’ll get lost and wind up there, instead.”
You laugh as you ask him what he wants to go to the Dusty Bowl for.
“I really want to catch a good Ground Type,” he explains. “Maybe a Tyranitar, or a Rhydon.”
Your eyes light up at the mention of a Tyranitar.
“Ooh, a Tyranitar?” you say. “Maybe we should go to the Dusty Bowl together, I’d love to look for a Tyranitar. One of the strongest dragon-types there is.”
Leon shakes his head at you.
“Always with the dragon-types,” he says. “I have nothing against them, but shouldn’t you not be limiting yourself to a certain type? I mean...you might get KO’D in Ballonlea and Circhester.”
 You shake your head.
“I’m not going to have a full Dragon team yet,” you explain. “But eventually I’d like to phase over into one. I figured, if I can manage to get my hands on a Duraludon and a Charmander, that can take care of the Fairy and Ice weaknesses.”
Leon scoots slightly closer to you. When he smiles, you can see his light blue braces.
“When I’m Champion,” he tells you, “I’ll get you all the rare Pokemon you want.”
The rest of the night is spent teasing him lightly for his ambition, and Leon laughingly claiming you’ll be sorry for ever doubting him. He hesitates a bit when you both stand to go into your respective tents, and after a few seconds of bouncing on his heels, he moves forward, gives you a quick peck on the cheek, and practically runs into his tent. You giggle slightly as you call a good night to him.
He keeps his promise. When he becomes Champion, he proudly presents you with an egg- light orange in colour with red speckles. You thank him with a peck on the cheek and a giggle, and he throws his cap at you and runs away.
Somehow, that’s how it stays. You become busy. You know Raihan is training hard to beat Leon, and you’re training hard to perfect your dragon type team. You travel all over Galar. You crawl along in the bushes and wade into ponds and spend god knows how many days in Axew’s Eye, raiding Dynamax dens to find a Noivern or a Sliggoo. When you hear from Leon, you tell him how well your now-evolved Charizard is doing.
He travels abroad sometimes, brings you back exotic Dragon types. A Swablu from Hoenn, a Dratini from Kanto. He promises he’s going to get his hands on a Bagon someday, and you tell him not to go through too much trouble. He just gives you a peck on the cheek, tells you it’s no trouble, as long as it’s for you.
Chaste kisses on your cheek. One to say hello, one to say goodbye. A congratulatory kiss on the cheek when you become the Dragon type Gym Leader at sixteen (Raihan demands one, too- he gets a ghost kiss from Leon’s Dreepy). Leon’s cheeks don’t heat up when he does it, not anymore, nor is he flustered the way he was the first few times. You’re friends, affectionate friends who kiss each other on the cheek, glance at the other’s lips and look away, tuck loose strands of hair away from each other’s face, but keep yourself from playing with it.
You’re busy, you tell yourself. Much too busy to do anything than push away the schoolgirl crush you’ve always had on Leon, much too busy training and learning, much too busy to do anything but let the years pass, and here you are now, an adult, fully absorbed in the rhythm of daily life.
It’s one of your designated hangout nights. Leon’s in Hammerlocke to destroy Raihan in an exhibition match, and afterwards, you, Raihan, Sonia, and Leon head to one of the underground pubs, one of Raihan’s discoveries, and your personal favourite. Sonia is the most responsible, Raihan is the least- by the end of the night, she’s laughing at and guiding an obviously drunk Raihan into a taxi (non-Flying; can’t risk him puking down at people from the sky). You and Leon are moderate, lightly buzzed enough to feel good, not buzzed enough to be Raihan. You decide to just walk the empty streets, shoulders bumping into each others as you walk, the cold night air biting into your faces.
Leon walks closer to you as he wraps an arm around your waist, sliding underneath the hem of your short top. You shiver and move closer to him, putting your own arm around him. The side of your face bumps against his shoulder and you giggle, both of you talking and wandering around Hammerlocke until you eventually reach the hotel where Leon is staying, at which point he looks up at it, and glances at you.
“It’s pretty cold out here,” he whispers. “Maybe we should just hang out inside.”
He sways slightly, pressing his forehead against yours as his grip on your waist tightens. You nod your assent, and the two of you make your way up to his hotel room.
The atmosphere is different, here- Leon dims down all the lights before kicking his shoes off and collapsing on the bed, patting a spot beside him. You follow suit, resting against the headboard with your body angled towards Leon. His eyes rove up and down your form, coming up to meet your eyes and stare intently at you.
His eyes are lidded as he moves forward to give you a peck on the cheek. You giggle at him, and tip forward to return the favour, kissing the corner of his mouth. He says your name, close enough for you to feel his breath on your cheek.
He kisses your forehead, and he doesn’t pull away before pressing another kiss to your cheek, and all at once you’re aware of the heat between the two of you; you ignore it in favor of kissing his chin, and kissing his cheek again, and that’s fine, because friends can give each other kisses, right?
You’re just relaxed from the drinking and acting silly.
Leon leans forward and places a light kiss to your earlobe. His head dips as he kisses your neck, then pulls back to look at you.
He’s staring at your lips, eyes lidded- your heart pounds as his hand comes up to cup your cheek, and he angles your face towards his.
 “Leon,” you breathe.
His lips are soft on yours, barely there as they brush past your lips. Your lips part ever so slightly as you lean towards him, and he kisses you- a soft, closed kiss where you move your lips gently against his.
There are warning bells going off in your head- Leon is your friend. Your childhood friend. This is one of those friendships that is supposed to last forever, and you really don’t want a patch of awkwardness between you because you ended up making out one night. Or...doing something else you might regret.
Your hands come up to rest against his chest as he deepens the kiss, and all the warning bells go off. Suddenly, you don’t know anything beyond how good it feels when he kisses you, hot and open mouthed and much more... desperate... than before. One of his hands is at your waist, pulling you closer as he adjusts himself so that he’s over you on the bed. His mouth leaves yours as he begins to kiss your jaw, tongue swiping against your jawline. His hand moves under your shirt, fingers pressing into your sides as he kisses your mouth, your jaw, your neck. You moan slightly when you feel his teeth nip at the sweet spot on your neck, and his mouth moves to explore lower, a kiss pressed into your cleavage as he moves down to the swell of your breasts, tugging your collar down to expose more skin.
 “Leon,” you say, breathing heavily.
Your voice seems to snap him out of it. He jerks his head back to look at you, golden eyes wide and searching as they look into yours.
“I’m- I-” he starts, sitting up. He swallows, and takes a deep breath.
“Lee, I…” you sit up, too, reaching for his hands. “I don’t want for things to be awkward between us,” you say, ignoring every feral urge in you that tells you to pull him back over you and go wild.
“They won’t,” he says, breathing heavily as he stares at you, pupils dilated. “I like you,” he says,  moving forward to bury his face in your neck.
“I’ve liked you for years, now,” he mumbles, pressing a kiss on your skin. “And we don’t...we won’t do anything you don’t want to. I just need you to know I can’t keep it to myself anymore. I’m in- I...want you.”
You press yourself closer to him, hands coming to clutch at his biceps.
“I like you, too, Lee,” you admit, whining slightly as he nips at your neck at your confession. He’s kissing your neck again, and you moan when you feel his tongue on you as his hands slip under the hem of your top, pressing into your skin just below your breasts.
“Do you want to do this?” he asks between feverish kisses to your neck and shoulders.
“Ye-yes,” you manage, your head full of nothing but Leon right now- his scent, his warmth, the way his tongue feels on your skin, the way he’s leaving bites on your collarbone and neck, his hands pulling you closer- he presses into you so you lay back against the mattress, supporting himself with one arm as he tugs on your shirt with his other hand.
You pull your shirt off over your head, and watch as an almost feral expression takes over Leon’s face as he sees your clothed breasts. He’s on you in a second, one hand sliding underneath you to unhook your bra, the other tugging it off and throwing it to the side.
“Fuck- yes,” he gasps, kissing your bare breasts and nipping gently at one, making you whimper. It makes heat pool in your stomach when he swears- Leon almost never swears, and you like this new side to him you’re seeing.
“I’ve wanted to see you like this forever,” he admits, squeezing a breast with one hand before his tongue flicks over your nipple.
“You have no idea,” he sucks your nipple into his mouth, tongue swishing around before he pulls away, “how much I’ve thought about this,” he comes up to press a hard kiss against your mouth “how long I’ve wanted you for,” he presses his hips against yours, making you moan.
“Leon,” you moan out his name, bucking your hips against him, whining when he pulls back a bit and chuckles.
“You look cute,” he tells you, an almost innocent smile on his face. “All flushed and warm, so needy for your Champion.”
“Leon,” you gasp, hands tugging at his shirt, legs bending to wrap around his waist, trying to press into him.
“Lee, don’t tease,” you whine, and he obliges, pulling his shirt over to his head, exposing his bare chest and stomach.
  He’s gorgeous.
You run your hands over his chest, making note of how he whines when your hands brush over his nipples. He presses his whole body against you, kissing your mouth, dipping his tongue in and moaning, clothed hips thrusting slightly against yours.
Your fingers hook into the waistband of his pants, tugging at them. He pulls back again, sitting on his calves as he tugs your pants off, tossing them away. You lie exposed in front of him in nothing but your dampening panties, and he gives you a smug look before kissing your stomach, going lower.
Your hands grip his hair as he begins to place butterfly kisses over your panties, teasingly biting the insides of your thighs from time to time. You plead with him for you don’t know what, an unbearable need for friction building in your intimates.
He darts his tongue out and begins to suck on your clothed clit, his face pressed between your legs. The wet spot on your panties grows, and you cry out for him as his thick fingers push your panties to a side and rub gently over your folds.
He pulls your panties off, eyes widening at the sight of your wet folds, swollen and puffy.
“Is this for me?” he asks, head tilted to a side as he looks up at you.
You whimper and nod, bucking your hips.
“Use your words, baby,” he says, nipping at your inner thigh.
“Leon- it’s for you. It’s all for you, I- ah!” you arch your back as he buries his whole face into your pussy, fingers rubbing at your clit as his tongue dips inside of you, moving around.
“Leon- oh, Lee,” you whisper, “I- ah- you feel so good-”
You can feel your high building, your intimates pulsing as he eats you out like a starved man. When he pulls away, you nearly cry, desperately begging him to let you cum.
Your arousal shines on his mouth as his tongue darts out to lick his lips, wiping off his mouth with his hand. He smiles at you, that sweet smile of his, crawling over you as he kisses your body, one hand pushing down his pants. You glance down between your bodies to see his cock, dark red at the tip and leaking precum as he strokes it gently.
“I’m gonna make you feel good,’ he says, moving up to kiss your lips. “I love you,” he mumbles against your mouth, pressing another open kiss on you, “so much.”
Your arms circle his neck as you pull him deeper into the kiss.
“I love you, too,” you pull away, looking into his warm golden eyes. He kisses you again, your legs wrapping around his waist. His cock brushes gently against your wet pussy, and you press your fingers into the muscle of Leon’s back as he continues to kiss you softly and slowly.
“You sure about this?” he asks, mouth against yours.
“Leon, please,” you say, your teeth lightly grazing his lip. “I need you.”
He presses his face against your shoulder as his cock pushes into your entrance, a strangled moan in your throat as you try to adjust to his size. He’s thick, and you mewl as he pushes in deeper, involuntarily clenching around him.
“Oh, fuck!” Leon gasps as you tighten around him, eyes wide and mouth gaping slightly.
He takes his time pushing himself inside you, both giving you time to adjust to him, and giving himself time to savour you, the way your warm insides clench around him, the way you throb with your arousal, how tight and wet and perfect you are, even better than you were in his fantasies. He pulls back a little and pushes in deeper, kissing you all over your face as he rocks slowly into you, pace quickening when your nails dig into his back.
“You’re- you’re so big, Lee,” you moan, heels pressing into his back. “I- oh- you feel so good.”
You hear him breathe a laugh, and he licks over some of the marks he left on your throat.
He begins to move faster inside you, wet smacking sounds getting louder as he begins to lose himself to the pleasure. You arch your back and squeeze your eyes shut, moaning a chant of his name as he hits that perfect spot inside of you, your head going blank save for the building pleasure.
His hand presses into your soft breast, and you drag your nails down his chest, making him cry out. You pinch and pull at his nipples, heat searing and your own pleasure spiking as his face contorts in bliss, groaning your name as you take his whole length.
“I’m gonna- hah- ah! I’m gonna make you cum, baby, I’m-” his thrusts speed up, a hand going down to rub at your clit.
You cry his name out louder as your high approaches, and he pounds into you, his gasps and moans mixing in with yours. He tells you you’re his, all his, that you belong to him, and you agree, throwing your head back as your pleasure peaks.
You scratch down his back as the tension snaps, your orgasm washing over you as you pulse around his cock, his name on your lips. He rides you through your orgasm, wide eyed at the sight of your flushed face and chest, how brazenly lustful you look as you cum around him, pussy clenching tight. He pumps into you, and with one rough thrust, he presses his cock deep inside you and moans as he goes over the edge, rocking his hips against yours as he cums, spilling his seed deep inside you with a broken cry of your name.
He almost collapses on you, face resting on your breast with his cock still twitching inside you as you both come down from your high. Leon’s breath fans over your heaving chest, and he slowly pushes himself up to pull out of you, keeping your legs apart to watch his cum drip out of your cunt. He almost wishes he could take a picture of you like this, looking so obscene, nipples perked and pussy leaking with his cum.
Your hands reach out to him as he gets off the bed, and he kisses you softly on the lips, telling you he’ll be right back to clean you up. He goes into the bathroom and emerges with a wet towel, cleaning you up as per his promise, tossing the towel away and snuggling into your naked body as you pepper soft kisses on each other, holding each other’s bare bodies tightly as sleep overtakes you.

Hi, I would like to say: Ignore this if you want!! Im sad these days so I can ask for a Pokémon scenario where Leon, Raihan and Piers with a "rival" fem S/o, who is a Fairy trainer and is a ball of Sunshine and Love, but suffers Bullying to the point of one day she shows up with a purple eye in the gym or they witnessed the attacks. (For some reason in the beginning they don't like s/o, very energetic, very talkative or fairy trainer on Piers case)
hi! i don't ignore any requests anon, i sincerely hope you're doing better! :( <3 here you go, i hope i got your prompt right ^^ ! 💗
Piers/Raihan/Leon × Fem! Reader (Sfw)
Piers × Fem! Reader (Sfw {mild cursing})
Tumblr media
You stumbled beneath the tunnel of Route 9 and looked ahead. Spikemuth was getting nearer so you moved forward. You just needed a Pokemon Center, asap.
Before you had reached the tunnel you were heading to see Melony, per her invite. Instead you were met with a few..not so friendly people. You were a well known trainer in the gym challenge, always so sweet to people, and managed to accumulate a fanbase for you and your Fairy based team.
However, with the good came the bad. Your good attitude and friendliness made you an easy target to some people who just loved to pick on you. You didn't know what exactly was different today but their attack wasn't only verbal. You touched one of your hands to your darkened eye, feeling the bruise. All your Pokemon had fainted fighting theirs, attempting to protect you.
You walked with your head down, ashamed and hurt. You entered Spikemuth, slightly glad there were no people around to see you at what you considered the worst you've been in a while. The shame finally began to settle in, and you gripped the pokeballs you held in your arms. You began to tear up and you scoffed at your own tears. Your face lightened up slightly when you realized you were only a few feet away from the Pokemon center, and you hurried before you heard a voice ahead of you.
"What're you doing here?" The voice was deep, and you almost immediately recognized it. It made you stop in your tracks.
It was Piers, your rival. You hadn't taken on his gym yet but he never really took a liking to you or was kind. Your fairy type Pokemon didn't make the best impression on him when you first met in the Wild Area by attempting to give him affection because you told them he was cute. Ever since then, he always said he looked forward to battling you and beating you so scared you would drop from the Gym challenge.
"Nothing!" You replied immediately while looking down. If he saw you how you were right now, you felt as if you would never hear the end of it. He always talked about how happy he would be when you lose, why wouldn't he enjoy this? "I'm just in Spikemuth..uh..to see Marnie!"
"Marnie's literally in Stow-On-Side." He groaned. "What are you really here for?"
"Just the Pokemon Center, my uhh..My Pokemon needed help." You said softly and now took note of your scraped knees. Damn, you took more than you thought.
"You don't carry potions with you or something?" Piers stepped closer to you, causing you to step back. "You really can be stupid."
You scoffed at his comment. "I really have to go."
"Nah, come on. You're here for a reason, I'll take you into the Pokemon Center." He mimicked the direction you stepped in and finally asked, "What are you lookin' at the ground for? Somethin' there that I don't see?"
"Mm..Uh-" you stepped back right into a streetlamp.
"Look up."
"No."
"Come on brat, look up." You rolled your eyes at his nickname for you, even if you were the same age you had never heard him call you anything else.
"I don't want to-"
You stopped suddenly when you felt a finger under your chin, turning it upwards. You shut your eyes tightly and blushed without intention.
"Are you..okay? What happened?" You slowly opened your eyes to a concerned expression on Piers' face. Not a hint of a smile, or any joyous reaction to your injuries.
" 'M fine." You shakily breathed out, feeling tears pool up in your eyes again. "Ugh, Piers. Leave me alone, I really just needed the Pokemon Center."
"No. Tell me who did this. Did they physically attack your Pokemon too?" He asked and moved his hand up to your cheek where the bruise started. You flinched at his touch then swatted his hand away.
"It was just some people, they don't really like me. I never thought they'd go this far." You slumped and opened your bag to put the balls away. "I was walking through the tunnel and they found me alone, they started to pick on me. It wasn't anything I couldn't handle!"
"You have a black eye."
"That's not important!"
He took his hand away from your face and dipped it into his jacket pocket. "You gotta toughen up. Here, this should be enough to get you an icepack or two. And a meal or something." Piers held out his hand with money in it.
You immediately shook your head. "Piers, I can't take this. I'll be fine as soon as I get to-"
Piers pushed the money to your hands before he knelt down in front of you, taking something else out of his pocket again. He grabbed the leg that had been scraped and pulled your shoe slightly closer. He held a bandaid in his hand while grumbling. "You're lucky Marnie makes me carry these around."
You couldn't help but blush as he applied the bandaid, raising your leg yourself so it would be easier. "Th-Thanks." You stuttered out, Piers finally looking up at you. He didn't look how he did usually. Right now, his face was soft and sympathetic. You noticed his cheeks begin to become a light shade of pink before he grumbled again and looked away.
Piers stood up, now back in front of you. There was a tension you couldn't really identify or get rid of when he spoke again.
"Let me see your phone." He said, now you quickly scrambled to open your bag again. You took out the phone and handed it to Piers. He opened it and typed a few things, your blush finally began to fade much to your relief.
"Uh- here. Just in case you're alone or, just need help with something. Call me." He handed it back while looking down. You smiled a little while taking it back. "This doesn't mean I like you, or anything. Just that..I don't wanna see you hurt."
"Aw, Piers..you so like me." You giggled jokingly before realizing how dark his cheeks were. "Oh." Your blush began to creep up once he didn't joke back or insult anything in return.
You both stood still for a few seconds before Piers shook his head. "Go get help at the Center, then get the hell out of Spikemuth." He instructed and stepped back, trying to sound harsh.
"Y-Yeah! That's what I was gonna do, that. Get out of Spikemuth once I get help." You replied, crossing your arms over your chest then stepping away from Piers. "Uh- Thanks. Really." You continued walking past him then looked back once he answered.
"No problem, just- call me, it doesn't even have to be because you need something. Preferably, yeah but- UGH. Just. Call me." He huffed out and began to walk away immediately. You watched as he went deeper into Spikemuth, probably to his gym.
You blushed at the encounter once more before smiling again then opened the door to the Pokemon center. You gripped the phone, not even caring about the stares you got at your injuries when you walked in grinning.

Tumblr media
"Please leave me alone. I didn't do anything to you!" You said loudly while trying to blink tears away and stumbled across a patch of grass beneath you, almost tripping.
You felt a shove from behind you, resulting in you falling either way. Your knees hit the ground and you quickly turned back to face them, trying to keep an eye on where they all were.
One of the males in the group reached down to grab a hold of your shirt and tugged your upper body, to him. "Alright pretty lady, we won't hurt you too bad..You just get on our nerves too much. Drop outta the gym challenge."
You immediately shook your head with tears beginning to fall over your cheeks from fear. "No! I worked too hard, I just wanna get to the Hammerlocke gym. Please leave me alone."
"Sure about it?"
You felt a hand get tangled in your hair to get a good grip on your head.
"Yeah! I won't back down-"
Then you felt a punch, not even realizing the fist was coming at you at first. You yelped at the pain, and felt yourself get thrown back onto the ground by the guy.
"Rethink your choice. You're too much for the challenge, what the hell is wrong with you? You think you're so perfect, no mess ups or whatever." You saw someone kick dirt in your direction, quietly thankful even more dust didn't hit you. "You're pathetic. Let's get out of here."
Your eye seemed to throb, and you watched them all walk away. Some turned back to shoot one last nasty glare.
You sighed once they were gone, and you could feel your lip quiver. Your Pokeballs were scattered everywhere near you, from when they had practically shook everything out of your bag. Quiet sobs began to escape you as you picked up items on your knees, from potions to berries now dusty.
"Is someone out here?"
You froze and immediately took your arm back from what you were about to pick up. The location you had been attacked was right next to the entrance of Hammerlocke, and you silenced your already almost completely silent sobs. You sat up, on your knees.
"I heard you..come on out! It's just me, Raihan."
Your eyes widened once he revealed who he was, and now your heartbeat quickened when you heard him coming down the small set of stairs that made up the entrance. You tried sitting out of his potential line of sight and hugged your knees to your chest.
Don't cry. Don't cry. Don't cry. Don't cry.
"Is that.." You heard his voice closer to you and you turned the other way immediately. "Why are you out here?" He now stood a few feet away from you, looking down at you sitting on the ground.
"Just..last minute training. Wouldn't wanna, uhhh- waste your time in battle." You sighed then turned to Raihan, wiping your cheeks of quickly of any new tears or any tear stains. "I ran into some trouble, but it's fine."
Raihan took a few steps forward then knelt on one knee beside you. His face was filled with concern, a new expression you hadn't seen from Raihan unless it was for someone else. He was your rival ever since you two were kids, almost never getting along either. His calm and cool personality seemed to clash with your bubbly self, but at the moment you couldn't bring yourself to care.
"It doesn't look fine.." Raihan replied back, and took off his headband then jacket. You blushed at the sight, and grumbled at the cold weather. It only made your injuries worse, your skirt and outfit choice in general didn't do much to keep you warm.
Raihan set his jacket onto the knee he wasn't propped on, and reached to your head with his headband. Your breath hitched, Raihan was merely inches away from your face. He wrapped the headband around your head in a way where it would cover your black eye. Raihan lingered where he was close to you for a moment, now not breaking eye contact.
"What are you doing?" You finally whispered, and cursed the way you could feel your cheeks burning.
"Making sure you're not too exposed. That's..alright, right?" He asked in return and backed his face away only slightly. The top of his cheeks darkened as well, and he took his jacket back into his hands. You nodded almost right after he asked.
Raihan then told you to put your arms out, and put his jacket on you. In your mind, you thought of previous encounters with the Dragon Type gym leader. The constant teasing, slight coldness and everything else that made him helping you so unusual.
"I'm enjoying this!" You giggled without a second thought as you shrugged his jacket on, the sleeves too large. Just to be filled with regret right after.
I know I did not say that out loud.
He raised an eyebrow at you, a hint of a smile on his lips. "You're still so weird. Can you tell me what happened?"
The smile on your face faded and you slumped. "It's just some people, they don't really like me. Uh..they can be rude at battles, they've taken my stuff before, uh.." You trailed off and blushed again but now out of pure embarrassment. You were telling your rival, of all people, that you were being bullied. "I don't need to tell you this. Thank you for helping me but I don't need it. Or want it." You almost let a whimper out and knew your eyes were getting glossy again.
Raihan rolled his eyes before noticing the tears in yours. He softened again then looked hesitant.
And before you could tell what had happened, Raihan's arms were around you in a hug.
Your arms were above his, you could almost feel the detail of his toned muscle around your waist. The headband around your head, the jacket and the protective arms were too much for you to handle, the overwhelming hatred some people had seemed to finally get to you.
"L-Let go. Raihan, I don't want pity-"
"You can let it out okay? I'm..not here to judge you. I'd love to see you lose but not like this." The whispered reply was right next to your ear, it made you sigh.
"You won't tell anyone about this?"
"No one."
And with that, you let tears fall again, now with your head resting on his shoulder. Your arms were around his neck, holding him closer than you would ever admit. Soft softs escaped you, going directly into the fabric clothing Raihan's skin.
"Are you done? I-It's cool if not, just..wanted to ask." After a few minutes of just hugging for comfort, Raihan spoke. You both turned to the other, your faces being almost only an inch or two away.
"Um- Yeah." The reply and the space between you left you with burning and tear stained cheeks. "Thank you." You attempted to pull away, feeling Raihan hold on for a second before letting go. "Do you need your stuff? I can go buy a jacket or something.."
"What? No, keep it. I don't need it, got my gym closeby. And you think some cold weather can hurt me? I'm a dragon tamer." He scoffed playfully and smirked, breaking the sort of serious tension. "See you, however, do need the jacket. You're kinda not the strongest trainer I've seen."
You rolled your eyes, back to the reality that you didn't like Raihan.
Right?
"Alright, you don't have to like me, shorty. Lemme see your bag, I'm hungry." He reached over you and grabbed the bag while grinning. Raihan stood up, taking out a tent. His boldness made you furrow your eyebrows and you slumped back against the wall of the entrance to Hammerlocke. Raihan's clothes were comfortable, and they felt safe.
You continued to watch your rival set up the tent, the physical pain you had endured earlier already beginning to wash away. For a moment, you caught Raihan's eyes in your own and the eye contact was held for more than a few moments.
A blush appeared on both Raihan and your's cheeks before you glared at each other.
"Please start cooking! It's my tent, I'm hungry too." You requested kindly, still having patience. Raihan always complained about how you were too nice for him to be genuinely mean to.
"Once you get your own gym, you can tell me what to do. Oh, WAIT-"
You scoffed then began to bicker like usual, now with a different meaning. There was no genuine insults, and you found yourself enjoying it.
You cuddled into his sweater, feeling calm. The attack wasn't even on your mind at this point, the world to you right then and there was only you and your rival, Raihan.

Leon x Fem! Reader (Sfw)
Tumblr media
"Get back here!" The yell only made you run faster, turning a corner in the streets of Wyndon. You had been interacting with fans when it was suddenly cut short by a group of people you recognized. They were at all your battles for all the wrong reasons. People with genuine hatred for you, when you had done nothing to provoke it.
"Please leave me alone! I-I won't bother you anymore! Whatever I'm doing, I'm sorry!" You yelled back to them, and now took a turn to your right between a few shops.
Your feet seemed to become heavier, the exhaustion of running so far finally caught up to you. To just your luck as well, the turn had landed you into an alley behind the Wyndon clothing store. One with only one entrance and exit, the one you had came through and the one they were using to follow you.
Once you came to a full stop, the footsteps heard behind you also slowed down. You gripped the handle of the bag that was slung across your body out of fear. You only had one Pokemon with you, one that you found and had been raising. The option of defending yourself in battle was out of the question entirely.
"You look even worse up close. Nice fit, you going to daycare or something?" Someone snickered from the group of women and men. You blushed in embarrassment, and looked away shamefully. One thing that had always been matched to you were your clothes. Bright colors for a bright personality, dark colors didn't exist in your closet.
"N-no! I just like my clothes..I think they're pretty..." You replied weakly. "I don't have anything you want, please just leave me alone."
"You got everything we could possibly want. We aren't stupid, we know how much some prissy know-it-all trainer can make. And besides, you just get on our nerves."
The grip you had on your bag tightened even more. You took steps back slowly, them following immediately. Some of their Pokeballs opened, releasing Gengars and Dusknoirs.
"Get her, idiots!" A trainer called out, and you cringed at the name towards the Pokemon. Your back was now pressed up against the wall, and you instinctively put your arms up to shield your face from whatever attack happened.
Your eyes shut, and you tried to prepare for the pain. You could hear the calls and cries of attack-ready Pokemon, when suddenly they stopped.
You felt your arms begin to heat. And everything else that was facing your attackers. Once your eyes opened, you were met with the orange backside of a creature you quickly identified as a dragon. It's tail was lit at the end.
"Charizard?" You asked and watched his tail sway. From what you could see, the attackers were now frozen in place at the sight of the dragon.
His wings extended, then flew up. The debris that was now in the air limited your eyesight.
Almost instantly, flames began to leave the now gaping mouth of the dragon. You shielded yourself again, and shrunk back, now nearly on your knees on the floor.
The cries of Dusknoir's and Gengars being injured made you flinch, even if they were about to attack it was difficult to listen to.
After a few more painfully long seconds, you couldn't take the cries anymore.
"Charizard! Stop, please!" You yelled from the ground, waving debris and dust from in front of you to see better. Flashes of light emitted from the attack, and you could hear balls opening and closing. They were being summoned back in, and you hoped it wasn't because they had fainted.
Charizard hardly listened, and if anything he only unleashed more fire hotter than what was the first attack.
You heard footsteps begin to run, and they echoed along the walls of the alley. The fire type Pokemon soon flew back down in front of you, his wings and back still all you could see. With one final roar, a few more cries of injured pokemon, and even a scream, you could see no more people.
"A-Are they gone?" You asked while rising to your feet again. Ashes floated in the air and you stepped closer to Charizard. "Wait.."
He finally turned towards you and you smiled a little. It was Champion Leon's Pokemon, one that had grown to like you when you first encountered the pair. You couldn't say the same about Leon, but that didn't change the fact you were nothing but sweet to him.
"Charizard? Where did you go? You know I'll get lost.." A familiar voice from the entrance of the alley called. "Hey! You're in here!" Now you heard the footsteps of the male running in your direction.
"Why'd you go flying off like that? What was so important-"
"Hi, Leon!" You peeked from behind the dragon's wing and grinned at him. Leon looked taken aback, flustered, and irritated all at once.
"What are you doing here? Did you try to take him or something?"
"Charizard? Never. He came to me! He saved me, I was in a..predicament." You said with your volume decreasing.
"Come on, for now, I'll put you in here." Leon sighed then raised a Pokeball to Charizard. You reached from behind him and put your palm in front of the ball.
"Wait- he doesn't wanna go in there. Come on, Lee..just because you don't like me means he won't either. He loves me." You giggled. Leon's eyebrows were furrowed and he looked away.
"I don't like you."
"I..know? That's what I just said.." You raised an eyebrow and watched as Leon's cheeks seemed to darken. He opened his mouth to speak, stammering as he tried to begin a sentence.
Charizard, even if he wasn't human, seemed to snicker. You looked between the two and could tell they were laughing about something you didn't know and couldn't figure out.
"F-Fine! I won't put him in his ball, but it's just because..I'll get lost if he's in here!" Leon crossed his arms and grumbled. "Are you okay?"
"Hm?" His question threw you off, and now you stepped toward him. "Yeah, I'm fine. Thank you for being so bad at directions, Charizard wouldn't have been here long enough if you knew where to find him." You joked.
"If you need help again sometime, you can call me. I'm usually around here..uh-" Leon seemed to trip over his words. "I didn't give you my number for no reason."
"What? Aw darn, I thought you wanted to talk to me more often. You know, hang out, do friend stuff. Maybe more.." You chuckled teasingly and looked at Leon's face once more.
He looked too flustered to even reply, Leon was the darkest shade his cheeks could manage at that point.
"I-I was joking oh my- I'm so sorry-" You repeated apologies to him in fear that the blush was a signal of him being uncomfortable.
"No it's okay!" Leon replied smiling sheepishly then furrowed his eyebrows at you again. "Don't be so nice to people, that's how you ended up here, almost hurt. I don't wanna see you like this."
Now the top of your cheeks heated up and you gripped your bag again. You held back a smile and nodded. "Okay, I guess you're right."
Leon and you stood, both blushing for a few moments before he broke the silence. "Jeez, you can be so much at times. Come on, Charizard." He sighed, the dragon then going to his side.
"Thank you!" You said to Charizard and beamed.
"Ya know..I'll be here in Wyndon's center and uh, just to be sure you're out of trouble, do you wanna join me?"
You took a second to process what he asked, then smiled even wider. "Yeah! I'd love to."
Leon's face lit up a little and you two began to walk to exit the alley.
"This doesn't mean anything by the way! I'm just doing what anyone with sense would do- I don't like you!"
"Sure, Lee." You giggled, then exited the alley with your rival at your side, Charizard hovering over you.

Pokemon Piers x Female Reader (OC)
Summary:
You and Piers confess your feelings for each other but you’re only in the Galar Region for a limited amount of time. What do you two decide to do with your newly professed feelings?
Notes before reading:
Originally from Unova, in Galar for research.
You’re working with Sonia researching dynamaxing pokemon.
You’re full-time job is working at the pokemon nursery, you rehabilitate injured pokemon and you take care of abandon pokemon.
You have a Levanny as your pokemon partner.
AN: I’m back! I’ve been sitting on this forever thinking “why do i always have an OC when writing for different characters, i don’t know” I’m going to post it anyway! Hope you enjoy!
You are at a party in Hammerlocke hosted by Raihan in honor of the new champion because it’s long overdue after the Rose incident and the twins' fiasco. A party was what everyone needed to celebrate and unwind. You’re Sonia's plus one, and once you had a moment by yourself Raihan came over, drink in hand, smug look on his face, “Hey, y/n are you single?” he’s straight to the point, “Asking for a friend.”
Your face immediately gets warm. Your eyes quickly shift over at Piers before looking back at Raihan. As quick of a glance you thought it was to Piers, Raihan noticed, and his smug grin only got bigger. “Piers?” he asks.
“Is that the friend?” you respond.
He simply shrugs in response giving you a playful smile.
You give him an eye-roll and followed by a light shove. Your cheeks are pink with embarrassment and you’re only a tiny bit upset that Raihan was able to read you so easily.
He lets out a laugh, “Don’t be embarrassed.” He reassured, “So you know. He stares at you every time you look away.”
“Why are you telling me this?” As cute as you think Piers is, the thought that he could like you back never crossed your mind. “I don’t think he likes me much at all.”
You’ve been in town for about two weeks now, and every time you are around, he never seemed to be interested in you. He would only talk to you if someone else was already talking to you. When you two got into a conversation, you thought he was just being friendly. There was that time where he invited you to Spikemuth, but he invited everyone, and when you said thanks, he ran off without another word.
Raihan lets out a small laugh, followed by a slight headshake, “I’ve known Piers a long time. As fearless as he is on stage, offstage, he’s shy. Keeps to himself, and never draws any more attention to himself than he needs to.”
For some reason you didn’t believe that, but decided not to push the topic. “Again. Why are you telling me this?”
“because” Raihan sighs, “I’ll say it outright. Piers likes you, and I’m letting you know that he’s not going to make a move. You’ll have to do that.”
You turn to face Raihan, who mirrors you and smiles at you, “He’s a good guy, but he’ll always put everyone’s feelings before his own. He’s focused on getting Marnie set up to take over the Spikemuth gym. So, he’s just going to stare at you from afar and use Marnie as an excuse to come over and talk to you because my poor punk baby is never going to do it himself.”
“Please ask my brother out, y/n.”
You turn around, and Marnie steps up next to you two. “We have to make this conversation fast.” She says, “It’ll only be a matter of time before Piers comes up to join our conversation.” You look over at Piers, who makes eye contact with you, and you look away again, heart beating fast and blush washing over your face.
“I don’t know what you guys are talking about. He doesn’t like me.” You try to lie to yourself. You are only going to be here for three months you live in a different region, even if things went well and things worked out, how long would it last with the long-distance?
Marnie and Raihan roll their eyes sharing a glance.
“Everyone can tell that you two have a thing for each other.” Marnie gestured at you.
“Everyone except you two.” Raihan continued.
You don’t know what to say. All this information was coming so fast.
“And then I whipped out a peace sign saying I would win the next one.” Raihan let out a hearty laugh.
“What’s going on, you guys?” Piers asked as he walked up to your group. “Hey, y/n.”
“Hey, Piers.” You quickly sink into your drink, at the same time trying to shrink into the background to disappear. Now that you knew that he liked you back, you didn’t know how to act around him. Not that you knew before, but definitely not now.
“Raihan was just telling us how he lost to Leon. Again,” Marnie said.
How were these two so good at lying?
“Now, my goal is to defeat Leon AND Gloria.”
“Good luck with that.” Gloria laughed, joining their group as well with Hop and Bede close behind. “These two nincompoops want to duke it out in the stadium, can they Raihan?”
“Oh, hell yeah.” Raihan cheered, “I’ll ref! But first!” he takes his Rotom phone out, “Selfie!” and he brings the group together to snap a picture. It felt purposeful where Marnie took a step forward, giving peace symbols as Hop and Gloria get close to you, pushing you into Piers. You and Piers lock eyes, you feel your face turn bright red while you give him a sheepish smile. He smiles at you in return. When the camera snaps, neither of you were looking at the camera.
“This one’s a keeper!” Raihan said looking at the photo, “Let’s go to the stadium!” Raihan announced to the room. The kids run off with Raihan as they run past you and Piers. Piers instinctively pulls you close as the VIP room empties, leaving you in a daze as to what just happened. You two are some of the few remaining people in the room. You look up at him, and the two of you share a moment where his arms are around you protectively.
“Thanks, Piers.”
“No problem.” He hesitantly lets go of you and pulls at the ring on his choker, “Raihan always manages to get people pumped up for Dynamax battles.”
“It's fascinating.” You say, looking through the window over at the stadium, “I’m just curious what the lasting effects on dynamaxing pokemon are.”
“Is that what you’re working on with Sonia?”
“A little.” You look over at him and catch him looking away from you when Raihan’s words go through your head: He likes you.
“Do you want to watch?” he asked.
You shake your head no, “I’m good after that Swordbert and Shieldbert thing, I’m good without dynamax pokemon for now.”
He nods, “Alright then.”
You suck in a quick breath, you take a shot, “Do you want to get out of here?”
“Sure.” He agrees without any hesitation.
Crap. You didn’t think you’d get this far this fast. “Let’s go to the daycare and see some baby pokemon.”
He gives you a soft smile, “Sounds like fun.”
He orders a Corviknight, and it takes you two to route 5. Not only were you working with Sonia on the lasting effects on Dynamaxing pokemon, but you also helped out at the daycare. Your fulltime job is daycare caretaker, you help rehabilitate pokemon and care for the ones abandon by their owners. You two go inside the daycare and see your Levanny sitting outside the door of the nursery spitting silk as if she was knitting.
“How are things?” you ask her.
She lets out a soft coo and points to the door, telling you to be quiet. Then she starts pointing at you two and nods.
“Okay.” You blush, “C’mon Piers.” And you lead him out of the daycare.
“She takes her job very seriously.” Piers joked.
You laugh, “Yeah, she’s great at it.” You breathe relieved. Even your pokemon seem to think you two would be good together. “Sorry, we can’t see any baby pokemon right now. They’re all sleeping.”
“It’s alright.” He was so go with the flow, it was nice change of pace from your crazy structured day-to-day life and his presence is just so calming, “It’s a beautiful night,” he gestures down the bridge towards Hulbury, “care to join me?”
“Of course.”
The two of you silently walk down the cobblestone together taking in the view and the fresh air. The night was perfect. The sky was clear, the stars shined bright next to the moon in the sky, there's was enough moon in the sky to illuminate your walk, but not enough to drown out the beauty of the night. It was a picture-perfect evening. Other couples were walking around and standing on the bridge.
“This is romantic.”
You blush at his voice and the thought. “Yeah.” You let out a weak chuckle, “I walk this every day, and I never realized.”
“It’s… beautiful.” He stammered. You looked at him, he was pulling on his ring again.
You gently touched his upper arm, “I think so too.” He lets out a light sigh followed by a smile.
You two stop in the center of the bridge, overlooking the wild area with a gorgeous view of the Hammerlocke gate, “This is my favorite view.” You say leaning against the railing as he takes his place next to you.
“It’s beautiful.” There’s a noticeable pause between the two of you as you looked over the wild area. “Just like you.”
You stop and look over at him. He lets out a low cough, obviously looking away from you trying to avoid eye contact. A lightbulb went off in your head, he was trying to do that earlier too. He’s so precious.
“Piers,” you pause, I like you.
“What's up?” his voice sounded hopeful.
“Nothing, it's dumb.” You shake your head, giving yourself an eye roll. While he turns to look at you, you turn away looking in the opposite direction.
“I’m sure it’s not.”
You face him, and for the first time, you two make eye contact without the other turning away instantly. Everything about him takes your breath away. You feel your face get warm again. He’s so cute, especially in the moonlight. His bright blue eyes were so easy to get lost in. It wasn’t obvious, but he has such a welcoming and friendly energy that once you got past an exhausted looking Piers, that did scare some people, he is honestly the nicest person anyone would be lucky to be around.
“What?” he asked, his face grows concerned. You look ahead of you again, taking a deep breath trying to find your composure.
“Okay.” You wipe your hands on your shorts. “I’m going to take a shot here because of,” you rotate your hands around each other avoiding his eyes, “ideas.”
“Yeah?” you could hear his confusion.
“Has anyone told you anything.” you wonder aloud, looking back at him.
“I mean.” He looks away this time but back at you before continuing. “I think you’re cool, but I know you’re only here for what two more months?”
“Yeah.” You sigh. That was a big factor in why you didn’t want to get involved with anyone here. You were only in Galar for three months, you had two and a half left. There was no need to get into a relationship with each other or even bother about letting him know how you feel. As much as everyone wanted to, there was no point. Why make your small group of friends here awkward?
“I’ll just come out and say it.” You look over at Piers. “I have a crush on you.”
“What?” you say instinctively. Raihan said he wouldn’t make a move, but apparently, he didn’t know Piers as well as he thought he did. You heard what Piers said your brain just needed a second to comprehend and register what he said.
“I’m sorry.” He apologized, pulling at the ring on his choker, “I just felt like I would’ve exploded if I didn’t get it out right now.”
“No, it’s okay. I just….I like you too.” You respond, “I just don’t know.”
“Same.” He lets out a weak smile.
The silence is tense between you two.
“You leave in three months, and I just don’t want to make things awkward.” Piers said. “I really like hanging out with you and I don’t want that to change, but if….” His voice trailed off.
“Yeah! I totally get that.” You agreed, “We don’t want to force anything.”
“No. No. Definitely not.”
“So, we could just take this as it goes.” You say.
He nods, “Yeah…”
“So, because you said it. I do like you too.” You reassure him.
He gives you a smile, “Thanks, I was getting nervous for a minute there.”
“Have you not been nervous this entire time?” you joke, “I’ve been freaking out.”
He laughs, “No, I’ve been a nervous wreck this entire time.”
You two share another laugh together as you have before. It felt natural and easy being with Piers. You deeply wished something would happen between you and Piers, but there was time to see where this would go.
“So, we’re just going to see where this goes?”
“I’m okay with that if you are.”
“I’d really like that.”
“Okay.” He smiles at you, “Want to come over for dinner on Thursday? I have this new song I want you to hear.”
“Yeah,” you agree, “Text me when you want me over.”
“Always.”
It was a good feeling to get that off your chest. You two lean against the railing looking back out at Hammerlocke gate in silence, but closer together. You lean your head on his arm and take in the moment you have together. Piers settling into being your pillow.
“Thank you.” You say, “I’m glad.”
“Me too.” He responds.
Thursday came. He was just finishing up a training session with Marnie, while you sat in the back watching the two battle. Immediately after Piers comes up to talk to you about what he was planning to make for dinner.
“I hope that sounds okay.”
“Sounds awesome. I can’t wait.”
“I really hope you like the song too. I wrote it with you in mind.”
“Piers.” you hold your hand over your heart, when Marnie walks over and starts stabbing the air between you two.You two stop what you were talking about and stare at her.
"What are you doing?"  he asks her.
"Trying to cut the romantic and or sexual tension between you two.” She continues furiously stabbing the air, “Crap, it’s not working!”
You and Piers blush furiously.

EPILOGUE
SAVE ME
...
...
"Don't question the universe, that's my motto. Sometimes things just work out."
- Fargo, The Heap
...
...
Raihan leaves the locker room only to discover that she is not waiting for him in the lobby as she said and the gym trainer manning the area tells him that she left due to an emergency. Something doesn't quite add up because not only is it uncharacteristic of her to run off like that but he has a bad feeling about whatever 'emergency' it is. When he presses the gym trainer for more information, he tells Raihan that someone gave him a white envelope addressed to his girlfriend.
There's not much to go on here so Raihan leaves Hammerlocke stadium and tries to call her only to get through to voicemail. Shortly after, he receives a message - it's from Chairman Rose and it's been sent to himself and Leon - and he opens and reads it: Rose says there's something happening in Rose Tower and all employees have been evacuated. Rose would like them to check it out and Raihan responds to the group chat, telling them that he's on his way. It's too much of a coincidence - somehow he feels he will find his girlfriend there...
When he arrives at Wyndon, he sees a few locals running away from the direction of Rose Tower and outside, many employees are standing around, confused. All the lights in Rose Tower are switched off, the building dark and grim for a change. Raihan looks all the way up to the very top of Rose Tower where the sky above it is a deep grey and ominous clouds swirl in a spectacular, circular fashion. It's strange weather considering it's sunny everywhere else.
Raihan enters the building just in time to see the Champion at the emergency lift with Charizard. "Leon." Raihan quickly jogs over and stops before him with his phone in hand.
Turning round, Leon grins widely at him. "Raihan! You made it."
"Yep."
"Thanks for coming." Leon adds, as the lift arrives and the doors slide open.
"No problem, let's go."
Inside, Leon and Raihan stand side-by-side in the large space and Leon pushes the button that will take them to the top floor whilst Charizard meanders behind them, staring outside the glass window. They are so far up that the people down below resembles durants...
"I wonder what's going on," mutters Raihan; he checks his phone but there's nothing posted online yet. Whatever is happening, they're the first ones on the scene...
"We'll find out when we get up there."
"This is just like the old times," Raihan adds, and Leon chuckles and nods. "What do you do when you're not saving Galar?"
Leon blinks owlishly in response. "Charizard and I visit each city and when we finish, we do another round."
"So diligent." Raihan replies with a smirk, and Leon grins.
The lift arrives at its destination and the doors slide open, revealing the outdoor arena; they're greeted with an extremely chilly burst of air that batters them from all over and Leon's hat almost blows off if he doesn't hold onto it.
Stepping out of the lift, the doors close behind them and Leon, Raihan and Charizard look up and around, assessing their surroundings. The sky around the top floor is a perpetual drab shade of ash and thick clouds have obscured the view; the clouds have enclosed the entire arena with harsh winds whipping round and round with no end.
That's not all for the entire area has been obliterated: a bust pipe to the side spits out water and the ground has been fractured by an immense force. The pressure of the atmosphere here is suffocating and various bits and pieces of rubble and droplets of water can be seen hovering a few inches above the ground, crackling with little forks of electricity whilst debris fly around in the air in hypnotising circles. The floor beneath them trembles and in the very middle of it all, a massive creature hovers before them.
It resembles a jellyfish, silvery-black in colour with a bulbous head and various tentacles that reach an enormous length - it's a Nihilego, although its form looks very different than usual. It's in the middle of a rampage with it's dark, transparent tentacles wrapped around two familiar figures - it's Alicia and Raihan's ex-girlfriend. They're completely immobilised, the tentacles coiling around their bodies tightly.
In its fury, Nihilego lifts up one of it's massive tentacles and reaches for the ex-girlfriend who is still struggling and roughly seizes something out of her hand - it's a DVD - and Nihilego throws it to the floor and promptly smashes it under one giant tentacle. The impact causes the floor to shake and the ground splits, resembling a mosaic. Alicia's phone is not spared either; a tentacle pries it away from her clutches and as Rotom safely escapes from the device, the phone also shares the same fate as the DVD and is crushed to pieces.
They shriek with terror, struggling for breath but they're quickly subdued when the tentacles begin to tighten around them; the helpless girls spot Leon and Raihan in the back and shout for them, crying with distress.
"Raihan, help!" The ex girlfriend screams.
"Help us!!" Alicia yelps.
Although Leon and Raihan don't know what the context around this is, their main concern is the Ultra Beast. Nihilego's tentacles quickly clamps over the girl's mouths, muffling their screams and effectively silencing them though they wriggle and squirm furiously, trying to escape their confines.
His ex desperately tries to make eye contact with him but Raihan avoids looking at her altogether, aware that she must have done something to incurred the wrath of an Ultra Breast.
Raihan makes his way over immediately with Leon and Charizard, narrowly ducking from pieces of rubble that zoom towards their direction.
Once they're close, Raihan realises Nihilego is not alone - his eyes widen briefly when he spots his girlfriend and it's a bizarre sight - she's been sucked inside the creature, the upper half of her body absorbed into the bell whilst her legs dangle. Bathed in a strangely comforting and warm glow, her eyes are closed, her long lashes dusting her cheekbones; she almost looks....peaceful. Sleeping. She doesn't seem to be conscious at all. In the bubble, her hair floats around her, resembling swirling tendrils.
Despite the situation, he remains calm. He yells her name and the Nihilego turns to him; her body sways with the movement, following the gravity.
Facing off against an Ultra Beast....this sort of thing wouldn't happen to him, not in a million years. His Rotom stares at the massive creature in awe and takes a few shots. Now's really not the time though.
"Let her go." He demands, and the beast emits a metallic screech in response, waving its tentacles around in the frigid air. It decides to attack, stabbing a tentacle towards his direction.
"Raihan, look out!" Leon yells. Charizard is quick to respond on Leon's behalf, unleashing a barrage of flames which causes the Nihilego to spontaneously retreat and Leon hastily joins his side. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." Raihan mutters. "Thanks, Leon."
The two avert their attention to the Ultra Beast that rises before them; Charizard's flamethrower attack barely grazed it.
Raihan approaches Nihilego once more even though Leon calls after him.
As though sensing his presence, her eyes slowly begin to open but they are entirely glazed over, her pupils blank. Her mouth moves slightly, her voice merged with the creature. "....Raihan...?"
He yells her name once more, trying to get through. His princess... His poor princess needs him. "It's okay, I'm here. I'm right here."
She can't seem to see him; the corner of her eyes begin to prick with tears before they trickle relentlessly down her cheeks. ".....I'm....I'm so sorry."
"It's okay, princess. Just focus on me, on my voice. You can do it. Come back. Come back to me."
She struggles feebly; she tries, hard. She tries so hard, trying to resist and to break free only for the creature to grow darker and murkier in colour and it appears to inflict pain on her. "...Ngh....!!!" She cries out, squeezing her eyes shut.
Raihan keeps a hand on Duraludon's capsule, ready to use him if needed. She keeps trying to escape but Nihilego's grip on her is too strong and she begins to curl into herself, trying to pull her knees towards her chest. He yells her name again, facing the creature directly. "Let her go. Let them all go."
She stops at once and looks at the two hostages in her grip, then her blank eyes land on his form. There's a brief silence before the Nihilego flails in response, releasing another unearthly, shrill shriek.
"....Let them go?" She mutters, before her eyes narrow furiously and her lips pull back, teeth clenching with fury and she screams, "NEVER!!!!!"
A massive shockwave bursts forth from Nihilego's body, tearing through the atmosphere and promptly throwing Raihan and Leon off their feet. Charizard swoops forwards, catching Leon and Raihan in mid-air. They are deposited back to their feet with the Pokemon at their side whilst Nihilego lets out another ear-splitting scream and begins sucking the girl further into its body.
"No!" Raihan yells; he releases Duraludon onto the field and Leon commands Charizard to join the alloy pokemon. Raihan doesn't want to hurt her, he can't - he won't. But at the same time, Nihilego is hurting her. The beast is quick to react, tossing out two pokeballs into the field, releasing her Metagross and Garchomp.
"It's no use; she's been completely taken over!" Leon exclaims, as Raihan grips Duraludon's capsule tightly in his fist.
"I can't hurt her, Leon."
"We need to find a way to separate her from Nihilego."
Her pokemon are the next obstacle; their eyes are glowing a deep red, a sign of their possession.
"Her pokemon won't go down so easily; they're all EV trained."
"Let's use Dynamax!"
"Metagross, use Bullet Punch. Garchomp, use Outrage." She commands, without waiting for either of them.
There's no way to run from this - they have no choice but to battle - Metagross and Garchomp, under Nihilego's influence, wear ferocious expressions as they face off their opponents. Leon and Raihan promptly recall their pokemon and as a storm of red light begins to gather around their Dynamax bands, their capsules begin to enlarge before they toss them into the air and their gargantuan pokemon appear, their forms taking up most of the arena.
A double Dynamax has never been attempted before; Leon promptly instructs Charizard, pointing at Metagross. "Use G-Max Wildfire!"
"Duraludon, use G-Max Depletion!" Raihan shouts, and Duraludon releases a massive amount of energy from its body, hurling it towards Garchomp’s direction.
Her two pokemon, diminutive in size compared to the Dynamaxed Pokemon, charge forwards regardless. The result of the four pokemon clashing together at the same time creates another shockwave that completely desiccates the walls of the arena and any glass within the vicinity is shattered into pieces; the wind finally escapes the area and dissolves upwards into the atmosphere, finally revealing the calm, blue sky.
Leon and Raihan are forced to shield themselves and once the dust clears away, the Nihilego is stunned, having been pushed backwards although her pokemon aren't as fazed due to their unnatural stats. Duraludon and Charizard have taken a huge beating and begin to return to normal size.
Alicia and the ex-girlfriend are now unconscious and Nihilego drops them; they flop to the floor in a sad heap. With the brief distraction, Leon rushes to retrieve the unconscious girls whilst Nihilego begins to recover. It wastes no time; seemingly focused on Raihan only, she lunges for him again until -
"Stop!!!"
It's Looker.
With briefcase in hand, he emerges from the emergency lift and heads towards the group. He has Growlithe with him and he unclasps his case, revealing a strange round contraption constructed entirely of metal; he pushes on a button and the machine begins to whirr furiously, a bright orange glow gathering within the hollow of the device. Looker sets it down and tells everyone to take cover.
The device shoots a huge beam of energy into the atmosphere and stabs into nothingness - Raihan and Leon watch as a thin slit appears from out of nowhere in mid-air; the space is torn apart and it soon grows larger to a circular portal - an Ultra Wormhole.
Nihilego stops, it's attention captured by the portal and promptly begins to make its way towards it. Looker hands Growlithe a small metal disc to hold in its jaws and the puppy pokemon rushes up and tosses it towards the Nihilego - the disc automatically attaches itself to the ultra beast and administers a non-lethal shock in an attempt to separate it from it's host.
Unfortunately, nothing happens and the Nihilego begins to pass through the portal regardless. Looker curses under his breath but Raihan is quick to get up, following after the beast - she's still trapped within - and he grabs onto her before he's pulled inside and the portal closes behind them.
....
An eerie calm settles over the outdoor arena.
Looker steps over shards of broken glass and picks the device up and off the floor.
The light's off and it has run out of power. Cursing under his breath, Looker glances up as Growlithe rejoins his side. "Good job, boy." He mutters, patting the puppy on its head.
A short distance away, Leon checks the two unconscious girls. They're still breathing and aside from some bruises, they're unharmed. He lifts them one by one over Charizard's back and ensures they're strapped onto him safely, then tells the flame pokemon to take them to the nearest hospital. Leon thanks him in advance, thanks him for his courage and Charizard nods and flaps his wings and shoots into the sky, disappearing from view.
Leon watches them then heads over to the remaining Pokemon - Raihan’s Duraludon, her Metagross and Garchomp. They look worried about their owners but Leon tries his best to calm them down. Once they’re reassured, he returns to Looker's side.
"Hi Looker, long time no see."
"Hello Leon." Looker says, and the two shake hands before they turn to gaze at the wrecked arena and the despondent Pokemon who have no choice but to wait for their masters should they come back, if at all.
The arena is utterly destroyed - the amount of destruction dealt by Nihilego is beyond comprehensible. Chairman Rose is going to be livid about this. They cut the small talk, assessing the damage.
"Looks like we weren't able to stop Nihilego. And I doubt they'd be able to return unless we fix this." Looker says, lifting up his powered down device.
"That machine can open portals, right?" Leon replies, and Looker nods.
"Yep." He expected nothing less from the Champion of Galar. "It needs a lot of electricity. I'd have the Bureau Heliolisks power it up but it'll take too long."
"I have an idea. Let's talk to Chairman Rose and ask if we can use the energy plant."
Looker nods once again. "Let's go."
They both begin to exit, although Looker heads towards the direction of the emergency lift and Leon heads to the water closet.
"It's this way, Leon."
"Sorry!"
...
Meanwhile.
When you wake up, you're lying on the ground and you're in a dark place.
And you wonder if this is hell until Raihan pops up in front of your view. Although you are surprised to see him, all you can do is blink slowly as you discover your arms and legs cannot move. In fact, your entire body aches and hurts and Raihan gently lifts you into his arms.
You're able to groan and blink, your head throbbing, but when you open your mouth, a wet liquid spills out from the corner of your lips uncontrollably.
It's blood.
Coughing, you choke and more blood leaks out and drips down your chin... and Raihan - oh, he looks so worried and afraid and it hurts you to see him like this. He uses the sleeve of his hoodie to wipe away the blood and then at your forehead to dab at the sweat as you squeeze your eyes shut, hissing with pain.
It’s Nihilego’s toxins. They’re lethal.
"....Hey." He murmurs, gently stroking your hair and cheek.
Your vision grows blurry, filling up with tears. "....Raihan...?"
"I'm here." He reaches for your hand and threads your fingers with his, pressing his lips over your knuckles again and again.
You wonder if you're dying but you're too scared to even think about it any further. You squeeze your eyes shut again and a hot, fat tear leaks out from the corner of your eye and down the side of your face and into your hair, near your ear. Gasping out, you croak, "I'm sorry."
His mouth moves but you can't hear him so well. " - Save your strength." is something along the lines of what he says, " - need to get you out of here."
You find you have no strength; you are so tired that all you can do is just lie still, staring up at the deep, dark abyss that surrounds you.
Turning your head just a fraction, you see the Nihilego that possessed you is sprawled over the ground, unmoving. It's returned to normal - a harmless, white jelly. Is it knocked out or dead? There are other Nihilego floating around but they don't seem concerned with you at all.
You try to move although he doesn't want you to but you assure him you want to sit up. However, the moment you inch from your spot and you're wracked all over with pain so you're reduced to lying over his lap regardless. He ensures you're comfortable as much as possible and you close your eyes as you rest. "....I'm sorry I let this happen." You murmur.
"It's okay."
You shake your head. "No...it's not."
"What happened?" He asks, stroking your hair.
"I got a letter saying they had the DVD and I was to meet them in Rose Tower on my own. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have went." You mumble; you struggle to speak somewhat, sucking in long breaths and exhaling shakily, "...It was Alicia and your ex-girlfriend. They were... recording me and they knew how I was adopted and stuff....and they said they'd make sure everything about me would be made public. I got mad...and I was scared too. The energy band warned me but I ignored it and...a portal opened. Nihilego came out and took over me."
"It's not your fault."
You shake your head again and utter under your breath, "No, Rai, I wanted to hurt them. I wanted to make them pay. I did. I really did. I'd had enough. I was sick and tired of being pushed around....but I feel bad for what I did. I don't feel any better about myself for hurting them. If we make it out of here, I'll...I'll turn myself in."
He smooths your hair down with his large palm. "You were possessed by Nihilego. It wasn't you. Everyone saw that and they'll be the ones who will get into trouble, not you."
"But you're here because of me. I did this."
He shakes his head. "No, I'm here because I want to be here. And I don't know about you but I'm at my wit's end with this place."
"I'll try and get us out of here." You mutter, "...But I need to be under great emotional distress....that's what Looker said."
You wonder how you might be able to pull this off, squeezing your eyes shut and attempting to concentrate. But nothing happens, no matter how hard you try. You try to think of everything that’s happened to you, all the misfortune, all the times you’ve been miserable.
It doesn’t work.
Nothing happens.
You’re probably stuck here forever.
You will die from the poison, the cold and starvation. How awful.
As Raihan continues to hold you, you look up and around, spotting the various dim lights that glow in the area. They're from iridescent rocks stuck to the walls of this place - and it occurs to you that you're in Ultra Deep Sea, possibly thousands of light years away. You recognise it due to the hypnosis session you had with Looker. You're in a different dimension.
However, the source of light is not only from the rocks, you see weak swirls in the air that glow and twinkle and grow larger and larger... identical to a ripple in water; when it clears, it shows something you didn't think was possible -
You see an image of yourself within.
It's a hazy picture....very blurry, but there you are, seated at a laptop and looking at the screen. This 'other you' looks exactly the same as you, although her clothes are different and the place she's in is different.
She is reading something on the screen.
But all of a sudden, she looks away. She is confused and she is looking around as though trying to pinpoint something. To find something. She doesn't find it, whatever it is she is looking for.
The image of this 'other you' disappears after a short while.
Another portal opens, revealing another fuzzy image of you - except this time, this ‘other you’ is on her phone, also reading something on the screen. This 'another you' looks up at once as though aware of something. The 'other you' keeps looking around but cannot seem to find what she's looking for either.
The portal closes.
Raihan peers at you when he notices you are staring wide-eyed into nothingness. "What is it?"
"....I...I saw a parallel dimension. Not one but two." Raihan looks confused but you don’t elaborate. You don’t see any more parallel dimensions. The visions don’t come. And you and Raihan are still stuck here.
"I'm sorry, Rai..." You mutter deliriously; you apologise to him again and again.
You see him smiling and his mouth moves, " - be here for you. I'll always be here for you."
You're becoming so exhausted that your eyes slide to a close. It's getting hard to keep awake and you're afraid that this is it...Afraid that if you close your eyes, you'll be gone forever. You force yourself to keep your eyes open, focusing on him.
You love Raihan so much.
It can't end like this.
He brings out the best of you. You want to be with him...You haven't even moved in with him yet. You want to have so many memories with him, you want to do so many things together... you want to grow old together.
It's getting cold...
Raihan lifts you off the ground slightly and into his embrace, unzipping his oversized hoodie and wrapping it around you.
You slump against his chest as he holds you and he tells you what's on his mind.
He wants to be with you. He wants to spend his life with you. You're the one. You are so gentle and kind, so caring and loving. You're so cute and adorable. He's never met anyone like you before. Sure, people would describe you as a wallflower but he loves that the most about you.
You're quiet.
You're introverted.
So what?
You're perfect the way you are. You're insightful and deep, you make him happy in so many ways and he loves you. You're his everything.
When you let out a chuckle, he grins in return, leaning forwards to press his lips against yours. He gets blood on the corner of his mouth so you lift your hand and gently wipe it away. He clutches your hand and holds you close.
Even if this it, if this is the end... at least you are together...
...
Meanwhile.
Leon and Looker arrive at Chairman Rose's office.
They explain everything to him and Looker shows him the device - which requires a lot of electricity to work and the energy plant is their quickest option. However, the amount of energy needed will put everything to a stop - that's how much energy is needed to open an Ultra Wormhole. The device is the equivalent to the energy a Solgaleo or a Lunala emits in order to open a Wormhole, and they are pokemon they do not have at hand so the device is their only hope.
Rose agrees.
It takes a while to set everything up.
...
In the quiet suburbs of Wyndon, a couple are about to sit down in front of their TV when the ground begins to tremble, their lamp flashes before the TV switches off.
In Spikemuth, Piers' concert abruptly comes to a stop when their electric bass guitars and microphone stops working and all lights go off, bathing the hall in darkness.
In Turrfield stadium, Milo is mowing the pitch and grinds to a halt when his lawnmower powers down.
In Ballonlea, Opal is baking a cake when her oven switches off and the lights of her house go out.
In the Wild Area, a vast majority of the Pokemon lurking in the tall grass and trees stop what they're doing to look up at the sky.
Whilst some people poke their heads out of the window, some leave their house with their Pokemon and head to the streets, baffled. This phenomenon brings the people together - neighbours gather round, siblings talk to each other, friends send messages or call each other on their phones.
All across of Galar, a power cut sweeps over the entire region.
Raihan wonder how long they've been here.
He can tell she's growing uncomfortable; Nihilego's poison could be spreading. When he calls her name, she squeezes her eyes shut and coughs up blood again, staining her chin and the front of his hoodie. It doesn't show on his face but he is so worried; he remains strong for her, holding her to his chest, trying to ease the pain she is feeling. They need to get out of here, they need to, or else -
"Poi?"
Raihan glances up at the source of the noise.
A little purple blob pokes it's head out from one of the rocks, peering at them curiously. He doesn't know much about Ultra Beasts but he knows what this one is called. The strange creature slowly hovers out of its hiding place and floats towards them. It has glowing eyes and a tiny body and tail but otherwise....it appears docile and it squeals loudly, glancing at her before it looks at him.
He asks if it can help them.
Unfortunately it shakes its head but then circles them excitedly, flailing its little arms up and down. Looks like it's stuck here too and it's happy to see other people. Raihan watches as it begins spinning upside-down, balancing on the needle of its head.
"....A Poipole...?" She utters, as it breezes past them, "....What's it....doing here?"
"Poi." It says.
And she smiles. "Of course you can stay with us...."
It trills happily and jumps to perch on Raihan's shoulder before it spots his hood and nestles itself within.
The silence returns, but then...
A light appears.
It’s bright and it grabs everyone's attention; glancing over, a portal has opened nearby and Leon is on the other side with Chairman Rose and Looker, waving at them.
...
8 months later.
"Come on, Poipole."
The purple ultra beast lets out a high-pitched squeal of glee and floats after you as you head towards your house with shopping bags in hand. Null pads along beside you and attracts many stares from passerbys.
"Zzzrt, you've received a mezzzage from Doofuzzz and Glenn."
"Thanks, Rotom." Swiping the screen, you see Glenn has sent you a photo of himself with your Dragapult, Espie, Poliwag and the family Rockruff in the yard. Glenn is helping Dragapult file down his claws. Then you see mom and Sugarplum the Galarian Ponyta. You grin to yourself and then check the message Raihan has sent you.
It's a nude.
Motherfurret! You weren't expecting anything this raunchy from him, especially in broad daylight too! Your cheeks go red and you quickly swipe away, hoping no-one had seen but Poipole suddenly squeaks and turns round with his back facing you, hugging itself with its little arms and imitates kissing sounds.
"Oh, hush." You say, when it stops, turns back round and giggles. You ask Rotom to promptly dial the dragon tamer; it rings for a few seconds and then -
"Hey princess." You can hear him grinning.
"I'm outside and Poipole and Null are with me!" You exclaim.
He chuckles and purrs, "Are you coming back anytime soon?"
"Yeah...we're on our way back right now."
"Great. Door's unlocked, baby girl. I’ll be waiting for you."
Your cheeks go warm as you chuckle after hanging up and continue the journey except you increase your speed, walking at a faster rate.
Poipole and Null are the newest additions to your team; Poipole stayed with you after you were saved by Leon, Looker and Chairman Rose, clinging onto your shoulder when you were taken to hospital.
Although you had fused with Nihilego, there was another individual who was known to have successfully fused with an Ultra Beast - and the first to do so, actually - and it was a woman called Lusamine. She's not the only human who had merged with an entity before - a man named Bill from Kanto was the first recorded case. Although your fusion with Nihilego was quite severe, a cure was developed and provided from their research and extensive studies.
You were saved.
Raihan stayed with you the entire time when you were in hospital. Although he still had many matches going on, every minute of his spare time was spent by your side when you were unconscious and when you woke up, he was the first person you saw.
Mom and Glenn came to visit and they too, watched over your recovery. You remained in hospital for a month or so to recuperate, undertaking some physical rehab and psychological assessments but overall, you were fine and eventually discharged.
Before you leave hospital though, Looker arrives and you thank him for his help. He's glad you're safe but you're afraid that he'll take you away from Raihan and your family to some unknown facility where they'll do research on you.
But he doesn't do any of the sort - instead, he informs you there is a special squad that consists of individuals who are Fallers like yourself who can teach you to harness your energy, train your mind and they also specialise in tracking and hunting Ultra Beasts. He asks if you'd like to join the unit but you decline the offer. He tells you it's always on the table should you ever change your mind.
He has a parting gift for you - a Type: Null.
It's a pokemon that was manufactured by Macro Cosmos using stolen research and this one was successfully confiscated but Looker suspects they have more somewhere.
Although it was under his protection, it doesn't listen to him so he wasn't able to use it at Rose Tower. Looker has decided to entrust it to you; it needs a strong trainer and he believes you will take good care of it and raise it with love and affection so that one day, it can fulfil its potential, break it's helmet and evolve into Silvally. He also gives you the memories it needs to adjust its type at any given moment.
You thank Looker again and he notes how you have a Poipole and that they too, have a home somewhere in Ultra Deep Space. He has the technology to open Ultra Wormholes so you ask Poipole if he wants to go home.
Poipole declines, having decided to stay here with you and Looker gives you a beast ball for Poipole, then takes his leave. You occasionally send him photos of Poipole and Null's progress.
Although you dislike thinking about it, the incident at Rose Tower is not forgotten. Although the DVD was destroyed, it is discovered to be blank because Raihan's ex-girlfriend never found any incriminating evidence in the stalker's house despite the tip. Banette never hid anything and there is nothing in the stalker's house. The authorities decide two girls want to utilise this as an opportunity to blackmail although the girls maintain their innocence that what they were doing was nothing but a 'harmless prank'.
Regardless, they are both fined and sentenced to community service; Cheerleader Alicia is ultimately fired from Hammerlocke. You never hear from her again; she's too afraid to go near you nor will she bother you ever again, according to some sources.
On the other hand, Raihan's ex-girlfriend remains active on social media after her punishment and escapes true justice. She makes a public apology online but it's not truly heartfelt. By doing so, she protects herself from severe punishment although she loses a majority of her contracts, sponsors and supporters along the way. She does go off the radar for a while to lie low but no-one will ever know the ugly truth because she still has some loyal fans who will remain by her side and continue to support her, refusing to believe their idol is capable of hurting others.
Besides, you know for sure that you will never hear from her again. Like Alicia, she is deathly afraid of you. An online article about Raihan subsequently appears on Froakit written by a user called Wooloomyloo111, outlining a running trend that everyone who is associated with him seems to end up in jail or experiences some misfortune. They're not half-wrong.
You have good news about your friend. She wakes up in hospital and discovers that she is now jobless but the liberation enables her to reassess her life and she plucks up the courage to finally move to Galar with her Pokemon. Since you have moved out of Ballonlea to move in with Raihan, she takes over your lease and it works out well. She wastes no time in getting a new job and applies to be an aide at Professor Magnolia's laboratory and successfully lands the job.
And on her first day, she finally meets Leon in person. He goes to the lab regularly and he’s heading there again to pick up three starter Pokemon that he will gift to his little brother and his friend in Postwick, who are starting their own pokemon journey soon.
Everything seems to be working out fine so you dedicate more time in training your pokemon. Goomy decides he wants to evolve into a Goodra after he falls in love with Raihan's Goodra and Raihan's Dratini evolves into Dragonite and applies for a job as a delivery pokemon, bringing more income to the household.
Raihan also recently gets the house refurbished though you did your own paint job which took an entire weekend. He takes down his old photos of Eli and his ex and has them replaced with new photos. The group photo you took from the Dragon's Den is framed, along with the group photo taken after Rose's party, there is also a selfie with yourself and Raihan and finally, he puts up a group photo featuring Raihan, yourself, his pokemon team and yours. There is also the photo he took of you with the Butterfree.
You bring some of your photos too for the shelf but he sneakily gets rid of your photo with Morty.
From sleeping together, taking showers together, cooking together, you and Raihan are even closer than ever before. There is something satisfying waking up beside him every morning and it is also satisfying when you open your closets and cupboards where you see a mixture of your clothes and his in the lot.
You continue your job at the daycare but the amount of pokemon being left behind and uncollected begin to increase and often they are abused by their negligent trainers. You're sitting on the sofa and chilling with Raihan when you remember that some time ago, the thought of opening a sanctuary for abandoned pokemon had once crossed your mind.
Although you're afraid, the encouragement you receive from Raihan and your family gives you the courage to ask if your boss would allow adoption service considering the Wild Area nursery has space for additional pokemon most of the time. To your surprise, your boss agrees. You handle all necessary paperwork and the equipment needed, the extra food and water is all sourced on your own.
Cinnabar Island wasn't rebuilt in a day so it takes a while to start up but once the abandoned pokemon come rolling in, everything seems to fall into place. When you've got enough money, you will definitely open your own nursery. It's a goal you will work towards from now on, and Raihan and your family are there to support you.
You maintain contact with your ex-boss, telling her the good news. You learn from her that she has accepted Phantump and you are welcome to visit them anytime.
Something remains unresolved however: Driffie.
You've not seen him since. Occasionally, you'll head to the Wild Area where the wild Drifloon lurk around but you've never seen him. That day, you were really angry and you recognise that and you had even asked Raihan if you had made a mistake. Time heals all wounds, but it's too late because Driffie is gone for good.
Once you're at your house, you open the door and Poipole floats inside and Null squeezes in after you. You pat him affectionately as he helps you close the door.
"Rai, we're home!"
"I'm upstairs."
He must be in bed, waiting for you.
You recall Poipole and Null after storing away the groceries and make your way up to the bedroom, opening the door only to see it's empty. "Rai?"
Suddenly the door closes behind you and a pair of arms wrap firmly around your waist, pulling you up against a broad chest and he leans down, pressing his lips against your neck. You chuckle as he smirks against your skin and murmurs, "Took you long enough."
"Sorry to keep you waiting." You mutter as you turn round in his embrace as he peppers you with kisses and you wrap your arms around his neck as he walks you to the bed and drops you over the mattress, lips claiming yours roughly.
Whilst you kick off your pants, he yanks at your top however the doorbell rings and you stop kissing him to look up.
"Who could that be?" You mutter, as Raihan presses deep kisses all over your neck and mouth.
Having been interrupted, he reluctantly lifts himself off you and you pull your pants back up, leaving the room first and trotting down the stairs to the front door. It could be a Boy Scout, a salesperson or maybe just a visitor.
However, upon opening the door, you're surprised to see it is none of the sort and your eyes widen - it is a little purple balloon floating on your doorstep with a dirty pokeball wrapped around one stringy hand. It looks at you hopefully.
"....Floo..." It wheezes gently, blinking up at you.
"...Driffie?"
"Floo...."
"Oh, Driffie," you murmur, "Oh..."
You hear Raihan heading down the stairs before he stops behind you, half-dressed. "Who is it?" When he sees the balloon pokemon, he grins and joins your side, wrapping his arm around your shoulder.
"Floo-floo..." Drifloon exchanges glances between yourself and Raihan, then to his pokeball and lifts it up to you.
You emit a gentle sigh under your breath and accept the pokeball off him; it's badly beaten and battered... he'll need a new capsule. Your gaze softens before you hold out your arms. Drifloon floats towards you and into your embrace and you hug tightly.
Raihan watches you with a smile as you welcome Driffie into your home; you bring him inside with Raihan and close the door behind you.
...
Rose gazes at the city of Wyndon from his penthouse. He recalls the day the entire region lost power for a few minutes in order for the energy plant to generate enough power to be diverted to Looker's device that would open a Ultra Wormhole so that Raihan and his girlfriend could return safely.
He holds a document with the word 'Eternatus' stamped on it; it could hold the key in preventing Galar's energy crisis.
...
...
In Postwick, Hop leaves his house with Wooloo to meet Gloria. Leon will be arriving at Wedgehurst and he has gifts for them.
Their journey is just beginning.

Power Trip
In which Piers is an actual bad guy and does actual bad guy-things.
*
Obstruct is a dark-type move. It’s unique among dark-type moves in that it is a straightforward block. In fact, it works remarkably like the move King’s Shield. But while Aegislash is the partner of kings, Obstagoon have traditionally been seen with traitors and outcasts.
Piers made his peace long ago with being the outcast of the league. They get a heel, and he gets a nice paycheck and a region-wide audience. He’s always been more comfortable as an outsider anyway. After all, he’s from Spikemuth.
The crowd roars when Leon’s Aegislash protects itself. They jeer when Obstagoon does the same.
Not like it matters, anyway. Of course Leon wins.
The champion grins as they shake hands, praising Piers on training his Pokémon so well. There’s no use returning the compliment. He gives a strained smile and waves dismissively to the cameras as he walks off the pitch.
“Leader Piers! Why didn’t you Dynamax when Leon did?”
“Do you think your unusual battle style caused your defeat today?”
“Can you tell us about the album you’re currently working on?”
He doesn’t answer any of them. He doesn’t have to; his contract is very clear that he is only obligated to talk to reporters at press events, and only if he’s been given twenty-four hours’ notice that there will be a press event. Besides, the questions they’re asking now will just have the same answers he’s given before. He hates repeating himself.
*
Aura Wheel is a dark-type move. Or it is half the time, anyway. It’s funny. While the dark type is mostly defined by pragmatic actions, it is also associated with, well, darkness. There’s no “light” type, but if there was one, it would be electric.
Piers congratulates himself again on choosing the perfect partner for his sister.
He wants Marnie to shine. He may be biased, but he thinks she's the most amazing person on earth. She’s a good person, better than he is, and she’s a good battler, better than he is. If anyone deserves to be champion, it’s her.
But success in the league takes more than talent. It takes a willingness to follow the league’s standards, it takes well-faked enthusiasm, it takes marketability.
So Piers is more than willing to use his influence to give her an edge.
He starts with his gym trainers’ admiration of Marnie, encouraging them to cheer for her at her matches. He gives them a name: Team Yell. Soon there are others joining the fan club. Nobody complains about his directions.
Fandom is part of the spectacle of the league. Piers is the leader of Team Yell, but officially, he’s not responsible for any mild mischief a fan gets up to. He doesn’t even direct them to do much. At least, he doesn’t direct the grunts. His gym trainers, yeah, they do the important stuff.
Rose is up to something. It’s big — Piers knows this because every project the chairman takes on is. It’s shady — Piers knows this because it’s not like the man to keep his projects quiet.
He sends Team Yell around the region and does some investigating himself. Nobody questions why Piers is suddenly showing up to league meetings; they’re just happy that he is. He comes to Rose Tower when he’s invited, and he stays even after the meetings are over. He walks through the lesser-used stairways, down the closed-to-the-public halls.
That’s when he hears the name Eternatus.
Luckily for him, Macro Cosmos’ grunts don’t seem to realize the importance of secrets. From scattered conversations he figures out that there’s a great big something in Hammerlocke, under the energy plant. It’s not league-approved, but then Rose is perhaps the only man in Galar more powerful than the league.
If Piers is smart, he can find a way to use this.
So he starts spending more time in Hammerlocke. It’s fun, actually; he and Raihan are friends, and they’ve managed to make a lot of progress on their DnD campaign. They even train together sometimes, making use of Raihan’s 24/7 access to the stadium.
Being a specialist means knowing when to taunt and when to flatter.
* He’s hanging out with Raihan when the latter says, “Wanna see something?”
Of course.
Raihan slides his key card by the elevator and takes him to the bottom floor.
The basement smells of gasoline. There’s a large orb in the center of the room; this, Raihan tells him, is Eternatus. See the tubes here? That’s where Rose is going to store the energy of the Pokemon. See this gadget here, only a couple inches bigger than Raihan’s hand? It’s Rose’s plan B, meant to control the beast if it gets out of hand.
Raihan starts his explanation calmly, but as he goes into detail, a touch of hysteria enters his voice.
“All this… It’s scary, right? This thing is so powerful and we’re depending on a piece of metal to control it. Literally nobody else seems to have a problem with it. That’s weird, isn’t it? Or is it weird that I’m terrified?”
“Not weird at all, mate. I’ll admit it’s giving me the creeps, too,” he says. But his eyes are drawn to that blinking piece of metal on the table.
The control switch. Something that would reverse the power of the wishing stars and calm the monster down.
It’s not that he thinks his little sister can’t beat Leon legitimately. She definitely can. But he taught her to use dark-types, and dark-types don’t play fair if they can help it.
When Raihan’s back is turned, Piers snatches up the switch and slides it in his sleeve. It fits comfortably between his wrist and elbow. If he curls his fingers just so, he can hold it in place without being obvious.
Sorry, Leon, he thinks. It’s nothing personal.
Thief is a dark-type move, too.
*
Piers meets Leon’s brother soon after. The kid is bright, and he definitely has talent of his own. He does tend to overthink things, but Piers has seen worse flaws. The Yell grunts say that this kid made Marnie smile within five minutes of meeting her. Anyone who can do that has earned some respect in Spikemuth.
“Good job, kid. You’ve got style.”
Hop beams. “Thanks! See you later!”
Leon’s other endorsee? Well, she exists. She arrives, she wins, she leaves. Real quiet, that one.
He doesn’t see them again until the night of the semifinals, when Marnie comes to him in her version of a panic. Her friends (friends!) Gloria and Hop were waiting for Leon to meet with them, but he never showed. They’re worried. Marnie’s worried. Piers is not. He suspects he knows where Leon is, and why.
(Rose loves his speeches.)
He sends the kids on a fool’s errand with the excuse of distracting the Macro Cosmos trainers. While they’re gone, he heads up the tower himself. All it takes is a few psychic commands from Malamar to get a lift key and remove distractions.
On the top floor, Piers makes his presence known. “Hey.”
That gets Rose to shut up. Hard to monologue when there are witnesses, hm?
“Yer brother’s waitin’ for ya. You’d better go get him that dinner you promised.” He gives Rose a steady glare. “Unless I’m interruptin’ somethin’?”
The chairman smiles. “It’s alright. Leon, think about what I said.”
For most of the elevator ride down, Leon is quiet. Then he says, “Thanks for rescuing me. You’re a good friend, Piers.”
“Don’t say that. I’ve got a reputation t’ uphold.”
*
As expected, Rose’s plan goes horribly wrong. The safeguards fail; Leon is called to Hammerlocke; all of Galar gets to see just what kind of men their chairman and champion are.
Marnie’s friends try to leave the stadium. Hop is determined to help Lee, apparently, even though Leon is the unbeatable champion and Hop has nowhere near the experience or raw strength his brother does.
Piers knows he’s a bastard, but he isn’t going to let Marnie’s friends get themselves killed on a hopeless mission.
“You can’t just run off to Leon an’ leave me all alone. I’m bored. Do me a favor an’ keep me company here, yeah?”
“No!” Hop cries. “Lee needs us! We won’t let you stand in our way!”
It’s heartwarming that Hop wants to rescue his brother. Piers is sympathetic, even.
But he will not allow these kids to interfere.
“Then I think I’ll invite Team Yell along, and we'll have ourselves a bit of fun, shall we?”

Falling: Chapter 3
Pairing: Raihan x Reader
Falling in love is easy…
It’s falling out of love that’s the hard part.
As you try to run from old feelings you meet someone who is determined to bring the spark back into your eyes. Raihan isn’t sure what happened in the past and he doesn’t care. He’s got one shot to make you his and he’s going to take it.
First Chapter: Here
Second Chapter: Here
Tumblr media
Cry for Me
Gazing down at the phone on the table you watched as it lit up again for the fifth time in the last thirty minutes. You heave a sigh when Hau’s name pops up on the screen. Leaning forward you pull the phone towards you and answer it.
“Hello?”
“(NAME!) YOU ANSWERED!” his voice loud in his excitement.
“Yeah sorry for leaving so abruptly… and the radio silence… I got a job opportunity and had to act fast. Things got crazy quickly. How are you? How’s being champion?”
“I-I wish you were here… When will you be back?” His voice is rife with self-consciousness. He’s scared.
“I...don't know…” your answer is hesitant.
“But! I need you here! We all do! We miss you!”
“And I miss you guys too, but I need to do this for me. I need this opportunity.”
“Is this because I took your job?” he sounds guilty.
“Hau… Alola is no place for me anymore and I need to move on. This has nothing to do with you.”
“But...you left… Are you mad at Kukui? He said something seemed to be bothering you…”
“I’m not mad at Kukui, I just needed to leave. I have opportunities here that I didn’t in Alola. I need a break and to heal from some things.”
“Heal? What happened?”
“I’m tired Hau… I’m just overwhelmed with things and I have some things to sort through…”
“So you won’t talk to me about it, what about grandpa?”
Thinking of Hala, the island Kahuna and Hau’s grandfather makes you feel even guiltier. He had become like a grandfather to you and while he had encouraged you to leave, you hadn’t told him of your plans either.
“Hau, I’m going to be fine. If I need to talk to Hala about anything I’ll call him okay?”
“So you aren’t coming back?”
“I have been offered a job in Galar and I’m taking it.”
“But isn’t that guy their champion?! What are you even going to do!?”
“I’m the new...chairwoman… of their league.”
He’s silent for a moment.
“You’re really not coming back…”
“...No…I’m not…”
“I’ve got to go… I have a match… I’ll…”
“Hau! Wait!”
“Bye (Name)...”
You close your eyes in pain at the sound of the call ending. He’ll be fine, you know this, but you wish you had handled this differently. In your desperation to get away from Kukui you had left everyone else without an explanation too.
“I can’t believe I fell in love with a married man…” you grumble to yourself as you throw your phone onto the table. Rotom buzzes in annoyance and you quietly apologize to him.
Your phone rings again this time it’s Leon calling.
You answer it and put on a brave face, “Hey Leon! How are you?”
“Hey! I’m good! I heard you had a good day with Raihan!”
“I did!” you say with a laugh remembering the banter between you and the Dragon-type gym leader.
“Well, we’re going to start touring the gyms tomorrow! I figured we would start with the first three and then go down the line. How does that sound?”
“Sounds good! How long will the tour take? I need to start looking for a place to live and I should probably start prepping for the next tournament right? It’s a month away?”
“Don’t worry! This shouldn’t take more than a week… You can also scout places to live while we travel around!”
“Sounds good! What time can I expect you tomorrow?”
“Does eight work for you?”
“Yeah that works!”
“Perfect! I’ll meet you tomorrow morning then!”
You say your goodbyes and the two of you hang up. The light padding of Aurora your Alolan Ninetails alerts you to her presence. Ember your non-Aloan Ninetails following close behind. The duo finds themselves on either side of you on the couch. You lean back as the fire and ice foxes endeavor to curl up next to you.
“You know the two of you aren’t Vulpix anymore right?”
They both look mildly affronted before they settle themselves half on you and half on the couch.
“Yes… well, I’m so excited about this bonding time…”
They promptly ignore you and continue to lay happily in your lap. You close your eyes and recall the day you just had. Raihan seems to be a fun guy, you can see yourself being friends with him. You’ll need those here, friends. You recall the way he held you while you watched the sun go down and you try to recall a recent moment when you laughed as much as you did today. A ping interrupts your musings and Rotom hovers in front of you.
Dragon Boi: So did you have fun on our first date? Is tomorrow too soon for a second?
You: It was a rather good first date… too bad there wasn’t a kiss at the end… Where is that Leon?
Dragon Boi: Still?! You know if it’s a kiss you want I can be there in about twenty minutes right?
You: Twenty minutes? I thought you were in Hammerlocke?
Dragon Boi: I’m staying with Leon tonight since we’re starting the tour so EARLY tomorrow!
You: Oh? Tell him to come.
You: I’ll be waiting eagerly!
Dragon Boi: I thought we had something but you’re using me to get to Leon, aren't you?
You: Yep.
Dragon Boi: Damn that’s cold… I thought we had a better time than that…
Dragon Boi: I thought we were going to get married, but if you really want Leon…
You: So dramatic….
Dragon Boi: Dramatic?!
Dragon Boi: Naw I am… I’m not gonna lie to you about that…
You: hahahahahaaa
You: I did have fun today and if you’re there tomorrow I’m sure I’ll enjoy the tour.
Dragon Boi: Wait.
Dragon Boi: did you just ADMIT to having fun…
Dragon Boi: With ME
You: Well not if you’re going to make a big deal out of it…
Dragon Boi: Still.
Dragon Boi: You had fun today.
Dragon Boi: With me.
You: Yes…. congratulations…
Dragon Boi: Thank you thank you
Dragon Boi: Our wedding will be spectacular
You: All I ask is that we fly away on your Flygon after the ceremony. I want a truly memorable exit!
Dragon Boi:  Ugh! I woman after my own heart. You can have anything you want my queen!
You: Queen?
Dragon Boi: Don’t like it?
You: Oh no… quite the opposite… I could get used to that…
Dragon Boi: Good. You deserve to be someone’s queen. I don’t mind volunteering for the role of your king either… just sayin…
You: Very funny Raihan…
Dragon Boi: I’m being serious! I’m just sayin if the position is open… I will happily fill it.
You: I’ll consider it…
You: Good night Raihan…
Dragon King: Good night my queen.
You bite your lip to keep the smile at bay, you can’t get involved with a man you just met as a means of getting over Kukui. Even if that man is sweet, funny, charming, handsome, strong and kind. Nope. Absolutely not.
Your screen lights up indicating Kukui is calling you and without even thinking about it you mumble the word that you’ve felt all along.
“Reject.”
Falling into bed that night your pokemon curl themselves around you the best they can. They’ve been extra concerned about you lately and they rarely leave your side. You can feel their protective auras surround you and you love it. You love them. You don’t like that they are worried, but feeling their concern makes you feel loved.
The next morning you are greeted by both Leon and Raihan in the lobby. Raihan is quick to greet you with breakfast and coffee, both of which you take happily.
“Ahh my hero has brought me coffee again!”
“Of course milady!”
You chuckle as you take the breakfast sandwich from him and the coffee. Leon chuckles at the interaction before he interjects.
“You kids ready to go?”
“Hush Leon, I’m being pampered right now! Can’t you see that? You get me up at this ungodly hour and then try to deny me being showered with adoration. I think not.”
“You heard the lady, Leon… She wants me to adore her… this might take a while.”
Leon rolls his eyes at yours and Raihan’s antics, “The taxi is waiting.”
“Oh? Are we taking the goth bird taxi?” You ask as you take a bite of your sandwich.
“They are called Corviknight, and yes we are,” Leon answers.
“I want one… Where can I get one?”
“They are pretty common...They evolve from Rookidee.”
“Hmm… Rookidee…”
“We should be able to find you one today,” Raihan pipes in.
“That would be delightful! I really want to train some Galarian Pokemon…”
“Oh? Like what?”
“Dreepy! An Applin! I heard they evolve depending on the type of apple they eat. A Ponyta…” you continue to list the pokemon as you head out to the taxi.
“Dreepys are kind of hard to find… I’ll show you where they like to hide,” Leon says as he opens the door for you.
“I have a pair of Volcarona…. Nothing is more annoying than searching for their annoying ass… I’m sure I’ll be fine!”
“You have 2?!” exclaims Leon in shock.
“Yep… I have a pair. I was going to breed them, but they hate each other.”
“They hate each other?!” says Raihan in surprise.
“Oh yeah… if I put them anywhere near one another they just fight.”
“That’s insane! Why don’t you ever battle with them?”
“Well I had a League sanctioned team that I had to use in Alola, and they weren’t on it. It was mostly to keep people from trying to go out and catch them. They live at the foot of volcanoes so not exactly the safest place for young trainers.”
“I can’t believe you have one let alone two!”
“I got bored…”
“Bored?”
“Yes… bored…”
“So you caught two pseudo legendary Pokemon?!”
“Why are you so surprised?”
“I really just want to know when our wedding is…” Raihan interjects as he gazes at you as if the sun rises and sets with you.
“Wedding?!”
“Quiet Leon, can’t you see the man’s trying to propose?”
“Propose?!”
You arrive at Turrfield and head into the gym. You are greeted by a stout looking trainer with a dazzling smile. That’s why he’s the first gym leader, he instantly radiates comfort.
“Milo! This is (Name), our new chairwoman. (Name)! This is Milo, he’s our first gym leader!”
“Very nice to meet you, Milo! I’m excited about touring your gym! Especially since I really want to know more about the gym challenges.”
“Likewise! Let me take you on the tour and explain my logic for the challenge.”
You stop in front of a large field and notice a bunch of sheep-like pokemon.
“How cute!” you exclaim as you approach them.
“My family is Wooloo farmers, we raise them for their wool. My challenge is to have the trainers herd about twenty of these little guys to the other end of the field.”
“What is your reasoning for having them herd them?”
“It shows patience. These young trainers have a long road ahead and a lot of work to do. Not to mention training new Pokemon is not easy. They need to prove they have the patience and discipline to advance.”
“That’s an excellent point!”
“So you approve?”
“It doesn’t matter if I approve, it’s your gym, you clearly know what you’re doing.”
“Why don’t you give it a shot?” Raihan asks as he comes up behind you.
“Huh?” you murmur as you turn back to look at him.
“That’s a great idea!” exclaims Leon.
“I don’t…”
“I think you should give it a shot!”
“Oh dear…” you mutter.
You eventually relent and take your place.
“This is ridiculous…” you mutter as you begin to herd the Wooloo towards the gate. You huff as one goes rogue and you have to chase after it. A couple of others break away and you have to roll them back. After a little back and forth you finally get all twenty at the other end. You trip and hear the men laughing at you as you pull yourself back up. The Yamper end up scaring the Wooloo and you pout as about five of them break away and scatter. With a huff, you rush back down the field until you are back at the beginning.
“You know the Wooloo is down there?” Questions Raihan as he holds back a laugh.
“Very funny…” you pout as you grab his and Leon’s hands and drag them behind you.
“You’re going to help me though! Chop chop Milo!”
The three guys follow you out onto the field and you all head over to the Wooloo who are eyeing you all warily. The four of you end up laughing as you chase the wooly Pokemon up and down the field. Each one of you getting in the others way and changing directions at a moment's notice. You notice Raihan’s Rotom filming the event as you all rush around happily chasing after the Wooloo. When you had all of the Wooloo at the end of the field you all collapse at the end and laugh until you can’t breathe.
“Was that what you were expecting?”
“It was something all right!”
You leave the gym chuckling to yourself before you all head over to the Hulbury gym and meet Nessa. The Raging Wave is everything you would expect her to be.
“So, you’re whipping these boys into shape?” She asks as the two of you head out of her gym. The afternoon sun drying your damp clothes after completing her gym challenge.
“Oh, you know it…”
She laughs as she bumps your arm, “I love it! So the real question is when are you going to battle Leon? You could be our next champion…”
You chuckle, “I have no intention of being a champion right now… Perhaps in the future, I’ll take him on, but right now I’m just enjoying life.”
“Like you could beat ‘The Unbeatable Champion,’” Leon says as he poses.
“Are you posing? For no reason…?” you ask in confusion.
“He does that… So weird…” you mumble before waving to Nessa.
“Let’s get lunch soon! I’ll need some girl time before this is all over!”
Raihan drapes his arm around your shoulder as you head off down the road.
“You got it!” Nessa yells back.
“Aww, you made a friend…” Raihan says as he pulls you close to him.
“It would seem so…”
“That’s good, I’m glad it was Nessa?”
“Why is that?”
“Well, Nessa and I go way back…”
“And?”
“No reason…”
“He’s already asked Nessa to put a good word in for him,” Leon says with a grin as he walks along behind you.
“He did?!”
“BRO?!”
“Oh yeah…”
“BRO?!”
You throw your head back and laugh, “Dragon Boy is pulling out all the stops…”
Raihan looks away from you and goes to pull his arm back.
You chuckle as you wrap your arms around his waist and look up at him through your lashes, “You know Rai…”
“Yeah?”
“You don’t need a good word…”
“I don’t?”
“Of course not… We’re getting married remember?” You ask as you pull away from him and rush down the street.
“Hey wait!”
“No way!! I heard there were Vulpix at the Motostoke gym! I want to pet the baby floofs!” you yell over your shoulder as you rush off down the street.
“So how bad do you have it?” questions Leon with a laugh.
“Pretty bad… I mean I’m pretty sure she’s perfect…”
“Yeah, I figured… you’ve already proposed and you’ve only known her two days!”
Raihan laughs as he scratches the back of his neck, he can see your silhouette as you rush down the pathway back towards Motostoke.
“Yeah… that’s a... uh…. Running joke…”
“Well, she seems to be running with it too…”
“Nah… She’s not serious… She’s been hurt and she’s dealing with herself right now.”
“Then be there for her. Be the friend she needs now and who knows man, when she’s ready maybe you will get the chance to propose to her?”
Raihan laughs, “So we’re just jumping straight into marriage.”
“Were you or were you not straight-up pampering her this morning? Just adore her and treat her like she’s the most sublime woman you’ve ever met and if things fall into place then you know.”
“She is the most sublime woman I’ve ever met…”
“Are you saying that as her fan or as a man? Remember, just like you’re more than ‘Raihan the Dragon-Type Gym Leader,’ she’s more than ‘(Name) The Alolan Champion.’”
“I know that!”
“Just… remember to treat her like a person and not just your idol. She’ll love that too.”
“Since when did your single ass get good at giving dating advice?”
Leon glared over at Raihan, “I date!”
“Since when?”
“Shut up…”
By the time the duo arrived at the gym Kabu was chuckling as you clutched about three Vulpix to your chest.
“I want to take them all home with me!” you exclaim as you bury your face against the soft fur.
“I don’t think you need 5 more Vulpix when you have two Ninetails already,” Leon says in exasperation.
You gasp dramatically, “Leon! How dare you? You can NEVER have too many Vulpix!”
Raihan laughs, “What if we head to the wild area tomorrow and find a Dreepy for you?”
You narrow your eyes but nod, “That’s acceptable.”
“Why do I feel like we just got played?” questions Leon.
“Because you did… I was doing some research, I would also like a Toxel!”
“Shouldn’t we be focusing on the tour?” Leon asks.
“Oh, come on Leon! The Wild Area is right outside the city, plus we can explore while we head back to Hammerlocke,” Raihan interjects.
“It would be nice to be able to start familiarizing myself with some of the native pokemon as well,” you chime in.
“Still…”
“Leon… I’ve been running a league for the past 3 years… Don’t worry I’ll have everything taken care of. Plus I wanted to check out the area around Hammerlocke, since it’s central, I think it would be a good city to move to.”
“Really?!” questions Raihan.
“Yeah! That whole gothic castle look is to die for too. I’ve had my eye on it since I got here!”
Raihan smiles as he watches you go back to playing with the fire foxes, ‘Things are looking up…’ he thinks happily.
Note: Hey everyone! I hope you all had a great Holiday! I know I did! I’m having way too much fun playing FFX for the Switch. If you haven’t ever played it...highly recommend! I like this chapter but the next one will be even better! Raihan is totally catching a Dreepy isn’t he? Love. Please as always let me know your thoughts! I love hearing from you all!

Request ~ “Ok, ok. I want this from Raihan perspective I think it falls in the category of imagine or AU I guess, since you said is more easy for you to write the female perspective, what about the idea of Raihan becoming a woman for 24 hours, so he is shocked for a bit, but then he overcomes his panic with the idea of having a day free of responsibilities, nobody would recognize him and would be able to go out without fans or haters all over him. Maybe do a bit of mischief. I hope is okay.”
Hehehehe alright, time to write Raihan with a pair of titties FUCK YAH!!! Though I’m not sure if I did as good a job as I could have done, here y’all go.
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (Raihan Imagine)
Morning came softly, his mind slowly reviving from the depths of slumber in a blurry fashion. It was always a welcome sensation, processing the world and your sensations without a loud alarm blaring in your ear, hurriedly thrusting you into a world of loud stimuli and expectations. Which is the main reason why Raihan loved the weekends; slow, easy-going, relaxing. Even he needed his quiet moments. So, the gym leader took a deep breath, relishing in the feeling of his chest rising and falling as he kept his eyes closed a little longer. Soft satin sheets curled seductively around his bare form, making it hard to discern where his body ended and the bed began. Not like that really mattered at the moment. No, as he flipped over, sweeping his arms underneath his pillow for extra cuddling action, he reminded himself that this was his well-deserved rest, that nothing should get in the way of his rewarding day of sleep. Raihan snuggled a bit deeper into his mattress, eager to find the perfect position of comfort.
Huh, it’s a little awkward to sleep like this. He adjusted his body a bit more, but he couldn’t help but feel some constriction on his chest. A little tight. Kind of hard to breath. He groaned, reluctantly pushing himself up to get a breath of air. Strange; he felt a little, well, top heavy. But he was still sleepy, so he opted to lay on his side, for now. He pulled his legs in close to his body, eager to see if a fetal position would be comfy. But feeling his legs glide across each other so easily felt a bit… wrong?
Okay, something was definitely wrong here.
He pushed himself up, letting his plush duvet tumble down his body as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes. He absentmindedly scratched his chest, only to very quickly realize that something was most definitely wrong here. His eyes shot open. He felt a little more. Huh. He looked down. Ah.
“Uhhhh….” was about all he could manage before bolting out of his bed, all traces of sleepiness vanishing into the nothingness as he raced into the bathroom. “What. The. FUCK.”
He looked into the mirror, blinking a few times as he processed the unfamiliar figure that stared back at him. He was still clad in his briefs from the night before, but other than that, nothing else was really familiar. Sure, he was probably still the same height, had the same dreads (albeit maybe a bit longer?), the same dark skin, and the same blue eyes - but everything remotely familiar was completely overshadowed by the fact that he was apparently no longer a man. Every couple seconds, he would glance down to make sure he was seeing everything properly, only to shut his eyes tightly, as if he wasn’t allowed to look. Maybe he wasn’t - he didn’t know. He had no fucking clue what the hell was going on right now.
Raihan shook his head, trying in vain to steady his feverish breathing. He ran himself through everything that happened the day before: he woke up, went to work like always, trained for four hours, went to two meetings (one for the league and the other for a sponsorship opportunity), came back home, showered, went to grab a bite to eat with Leon, tended to his pokemon, hit a few clubs, got drunk, came home, passed the fuck out. Nothing out of the ordinary for a Friday night. The panic rose a little more. He squeezed his eyes shut and pinched his arm; a jolt of pain ran through his bicep, but not much else happened. He opened his eyes and saw that this was somehow not a dream. So what the FRICK FRACK PADDY WHACK was going on here?!
He can’t go outside like this. People would freak the hell out if they realized that he was the Great Raihan of Hammerlocke. And certainly none of his friends would believe him even if he did try to ask for help. He hardly recognized himself, so how would anybody else
He blinked. Suddenly, the panic subsided.
Nobody would recognize him. Like this, nobody would have the slightest clue that he was really the dragon-type gym leader. He was someone else entirely to the rest of the world. Which meant that all the downsides to his life no longer applied.
A devious smile worked its way onto his face, his eyes slowly growing accustomed to the new feminine features. He didn’t know how long this would last, so why not make the most of it? Being an attractive man was a party in and of itself; what about as a woman? Maybe this wouldn’t be so terrible after all.
It took a little getting used to; his entire center of gravity was altered completely, but with a bit of practice, the gym leader found himself moving around with a newfound ease in his changed body. He hopped in the shower, trying to find a relatively neutral emotion amid the rising embarrassment and interest at his own body as he bathed. Afterwards, he rummaged through his closet for some simple clothes that wouldn’t arouse too much attention - a simple orange T-shirt and a pair of skinny jeans that suddenly didn’t seem so skinny anymore, finished with a pair of white trainers and a black jacket. Everything was just a little big yet a little tight in strange places, but upon looking in the mirror it seemed as though nothing looked terribly awkward. He looked, dare he say, quite nice. He gave himself a cheeky wink, spinning on his heels and reached for his clip of pokeballs. Ah, he pulled back his hand, feeling a tinge of sadness, that might be pushing it. Everyone would recognize my team - best to just leave them here. With that, he grabbed some cash and ran out the door, eager to see how the world felt from a new point of view.
Raihan as himself gathered a lot of attention. Like, a lot. The poor man couldn’t even take a piss without someone recognizing him and trying to start up a conversation about anything. And for the most part, Raihan was okay with that. It meant he was famous. Sure, the load of hate comments he got on his social media was a bit annoying, and every now and then he had a few hecklers at his exhibition matches, but nothing he couldn’t handle. But now that he was able to walk down the street without so much as a second glance from people, a wave of newfound emotions washed over his body, far more refreshing than the nice autumn breeze that danced through Hammerlocke. Freedom.
He pranced into a bakery, one that he had always meant to visit (it was always closed by the time he got off work, most days, and was too busy to really comfortably visit on the weekends). Immediately, he was hit with the distinct smell of bread and coffee, filling up his senses in the best of ways. A decent line was formed by the display, people peering in the find the answer to their cravings without noticing the gym leader’s presence. He could’ve cried from the beauty of it all; who knew that being a nobody would be so relaxing? After waiting in line for several minutes, it was finally his turn. Raihan stepped towards the man behind the register, instinctively putting on his casual, easy-going smile.
“W-welcome,” the cashier got a good look at Raihan, suddenly turning rather bashful. “And, uh… W-what can I get for you, um, today?”
Raihan flicked up an eyebrow, curious at the man’s behavior. Surely he didn’t recognize him, right? With those bright red cheeks and the avoidance of eye contact, something was definitely - Oh, yeah. Kind of a hot chick. Raihan smiled a bit more, not even trying to hide his ego.
“Just a latte and a lemon cake, please.”
The cashier nodded furiously, slapping a few buttons on the cash register as fast as he could. The poor sap looked as though he was about to explode. This was about twenty times more entertaining than watching his fangirls get all flustered and embarrassed; it wasn’t often he saw a guy get so understandably disoriented in his mere presence. Fun. After a few moments, Raihan was walking away with his treasure, adding a little flourish to his steps as he excited the establishment. Raihan strode down the street, happily munching away on his cake and occasionally easing it all down with his hot coffee.
For the first time in years, Raihan was able to walk around his own city without anybody bothering him for autographs or battles or even a conversation. Sure, he accumulated a bit of attention wherever he went, but it wasn’t anything close to the fame of being the top gym leader. Just enough eyes were on him to feed his ego, but nobody seemed to care enough to bother him. Perfection. He meandered all around the town, finding this to be the perfect time to visit all the stores and establishments he’d always wanted to see. He wandered through clothing stores (he pretended to look through the girl clothes before eventually making his way into the men’s section, but thankfully nobody seemed to care), a little nursery that apparently had a brand new litter of adorable Yamper puppies, a busy restaurant that specializes in Alolan cuisine, and even got to watch that new Resident Weavile movie that everyone had been bashing online (it was terrible, but the good kind of terrible) - all the things he would have otherwise never been able to do as himself. Deep down, there was a part of him that really wanted this to stick, for him to have a fresh start in this world he already knew so well and try things at a different angle. Another part of him feared that he’d never go back to his old life; his love for battling and stardom was far too grand to be satisfied with a mild life, that’s for sure. So the gym leader eventually decided that if this all would disappear, he would at least get all his desires of simplicity out of his system before he lost his chance.
The day was winding down, the sun setting beneath the horizon of old buildings and tall trees. Raihan settled down onto a bench, enjoying the crispness of the air as he watched the sunset. Things seemed to be going really good - that is until he heard cheering erupt from somewhere behind him. Immediately, he tensed up, wondering if this was the end of his day of freedom; he slowly turned around, only to be greeted with something he wasn’t expecting. A large crowd had formed down near the train station, the sheer amount of squealing fangirls giving him an idea of who exactly had made the appearance. Curious, Raihan pushed himself to his feet and wandered over to investigate.
Leon’s booming voice easily carried in the air, his laugh echoing across the tall brick buildings that populated Hammerlocke.
“Thank you all very much for your constant support!” the champion’s voice bellowed out, a tinge of exhaustion just barely noticeable to Raihan. “But I’m only here to visit a friend of mine.”
The crowd sighed dejectedly, but eventually made way for him to walk through. Raihan hesitantly came to a stop just a bit away, trying to remind himself that Leon wouldn’t recognize him like this. Just as the champion emerged from the crowd, the two locked eyes. Raihan gave a smile and waved. He expected something similar in kind.
He was not expecting Leon to full-on look away, rubbing the back of his neck with a hot blush coating his face.
Oh shit.
“Hello,” Leon tried for a calm smile, but still looked plenty flustered as he approached the person he didn’t realize was his best guy friend. “Are you, perhaps, a fan?”
I should probably tell him, Raihan mulled that thought over in his mind.
“You could say that.”
“Do you want an autograph? I don’t mind sparing an extra league card for a special fan!”
Raihan nearly burst out laughing. But he didn’t, mainly because he at least gave Leon credit for using the icebreaker he had told him to use a few months back. Leon was always so terrible with women, and now he was, flirting with someone who only looked female. Oh, the embarrassment Leon would be feeling if only he knew…
“Ooo, so I’m special, huh? I’m honored, Mr. Champion~.”
Leon blushed some more, reaching into his back pocket to pull out a card and a pen that he always carried with him. This was totally fucked up, but Raihan let himself enjoy the moment as his unknowing best friend scribbled his autograph on a league card with hearts in his eyes. Raihan gave a wink as he took the card between his two fingers. He watched in cruel joy as Leon fumbled with a farewell, nearly stumbling over himself as he walked back down the street. This would definitely be a memory that Raihan would never forget.
The gym leader walked home not long after that, still snickering to himself over the escapades of the day. He snuck back to his apartment, hoping to keep himself from raising eyebrows from his neighbors as he slipped into the safety of his home. It was dark, and a soft light from his phone on his bed caught his attention just before he turned on the lights. The gym leader picked up the device; several missed calls, a bunch of unread messages, and perhaps a thousand various social media notifications. He skimmed all the notifications, surprised to find himself so surprised that people were curious at his sudden silence online. Various fans commented on his posts, many of which he recognized to be long-term fans of his work all noting how Raihan was never absent from the online-life. People he had never even met were genuinely worried about him. He looked at the calls. Most were work-related, a few numbers he sort of recognized as being some officials from the league that he never bothered to save their contact information; many were from Leon and some of the other gym leaders. His stomach rumbled with a small guilt. It’s a little harder to be ambivalent when it’s your friends who are worried, as well. He pulled up the messages, noting that most of them were the sporadic and short-fire messages from Leon (go figure), asking him where he was and if everything was alright. Raihan only paused for a moment to laugh when Leon mentioned meeting a beautiful woman earlier in the day. With a deep sigh, Raihan took the time to reply to the messages, eventually moving on to post a quick text update for his social media pages regarding his absence; everything was fine, he just wanted to be off the grid for a while. Comments flowed in, for once all positive. Raihan smiled, resting back into the warm confines of his bed. He had grown so accustomed to this body already, but he knew that he would be ready to return to his well-earned life as a gym leader sometime soon. He closed his eyes, letting his mind wander a bit more as sleep began to claim him bit by bit. Even if he remained in this body forever, Raihan was certain that he much preferred the life of a star more than the life of a simple human. It was just how he was wired - nothing wrong with either lifestyle, of course. He smiled at that thought.
When morning arrived the next day, all was back to normal. Now, Raihan only had to figure out how he was going to face Leon again without busting into a fit of laughter.

Piers and Marnie Headcanon Nonsense Part 2 of who knows when I’ll stop this insanity? :B
Might as well throw this out there. Y’all can find part one over here.
-Piers and Marnie watch Saturday morning cartoons together. It’s a tradition that Piers started as soon as Marnie was old enough to appreciate them, and it has continued ever since. Do not try to interrupt them, or you may end up wearing their cereal. Even if it’s the middle of the Gym Challenge, you’ll have to wait until after noon on a Saturday to challenge. There is no debating this.
-Piers’ and Marnie’s Scrafty are actually brother and sister, just like their trainers. When Piers first started his Gym Challenge, a couple Team Yell members gifted him an egg bred from their own Pokémon, and they did the same for Marnie when she started hers. Both Scrafty tend to sleep in a lump together and generally get on with each other much the same as their trainers do. It’s adorable.
-The first song Piers ever wrote was a lullaby for his new baby sister. He still sings it to Marnie to this day. He’s never released it publicly, it’s only for Marnie. Besides his parents and sister, the only ones who’ve ever heard it are their Pokémon and a few trusted members of Team Yell.
-Every year after the Gym Challenge is over, there will be a tournament between the Gym Leaders to decide what order the challenge will go in the next year. Usually it doesn’t change much, if at all, but when new Gym Leaders are introduced, it’s necessary to figure out how they fit into the hierarchy. When Piers first took over the Spikemuth gym, he ended up getting so anxious during this tournament that his Meowth had to pop out of her ball to calm him down and he ended up disqualified for having too many Pokémon on the pitch. Because of that, Spikemuth ended up being the first gym in the challenge the next year. After he totally ended the first few challengers, Piers realized he was going to have to battle below his ability to allow anyone to continue the challenge past his gym. The next year’s tournament went much better, and Spikemuth has been the seventh gym ever since.
-Piers didn’t always wear eye shadow. He started wearing it to make the bags around his eyes from lack of sleep and stress less noticeable.
-Piers has a severe case of untreated PTSD. He has a prescription for Ativan for the anxiety attacks (which he had from before, anyway), but that’s about it. Marnie also has PTSD, but she’s had treatment for hers. Piers couldn’t afford therapy for both himself and his sister, so he made sure she was treated and went without.
-At 16, Piers hit an extremely rough patch, getting addicted to painkillers and alcohol. Marnie noticed the change in his demeanour, but she was 6 and didn’t really know what was wrong or how to help. The other gym leaders noticed that he seemed more strung out than usual, but just assumed it was stress. Eventually Kabu caught him sneaking alcohol at an event while still underage and confronted him about it. Piers didn’t want to admit he had a problem, but Kabu eventually got through to him by reminding him that he could lose Marnie if he kept on like that.
-After that, Kabu helped Piers get cleaned up, while also keeping the situation under wraps, so the boy wouldn’t get in trouble. Despite how it may look, Piers has a great deal of respect for the older man.
-Marnie is the reason why Piers’ rare league card is a reprint of the one from his Gym Challenge. It took a lot of convincing, but she was the one who talked him into it. (She didn’t tell Piers specifically that she thinks it’s adorable and that everyone should see it, but that was her main reason for wanting him to use it.)
-Piers first met Raihan when he was around seven years old. He'd gone to Hammerlocke to buy Dusk Balls, and ran into Raihan in the Pokémon Centre. Raihan took an immediate interest in Piers and wouldn't leave him alone. At first, Piers found it obnoxious, but eventually he warmed up to him and the two became best friends. They met Leon for the first time not long afterwards, finding him lost and crying in Hammerlocke and subsequently helped him locate his family. The three have been friends ever since.
-Piers, Raihan, Sonia and Leon were all in the same year’s Gym Challenge. Piers and Raihan tended to travel and train together. Sonia and Leon tended to travel on their own, but Leon would occasionally meet up with Piers and Raihan to hang out or train. The three remained friends after the Challenge was over, but Piers withdrew from them after the incident when he was 15. He’s been avoiding one on one contact with both of them ever since.
-Raihan has a bizarre Instagram stalker. Someone with the username SparkleButt2000 likes every single post he makes, but never comments and won’t reply to DMs. No one else who follows Raihan acts like this and it drives him nuts not being able to talk to them. It’s Piers. He feels guilty for avoiding his best friend for so long, but he’s too anxious to actually, finally talk to him one on one, so he does this instead to make himself feel a little better.
-The first (and last) piercing Piers ever got was a tongue piercing. It did not go well, to say the least. Due to his anxiety, he can’t bring himself to try again, which is why he doesn’t have any piercings now, despite being heavily into the Galarian punk rock scene. While he’s terrified the same thing might happen to Marnie that happened to him, he won’t stop her if she ever wants to do more than just her ears in the future.

Bad Things Happen Bingo! The event where you send me requests according to this marvelous card! (Red cross is the completed prompt, character headshots are prompts I’ve already filled. Green deltas are for requested prompts.)
Choo choo, the Sickfic Express has just arrived in Galar, straight from Oreburgh City!
First fic of 2020 is a sickfic oneshot. How rivetting. I've very recently beaten Pokémon Sword and loved it! I found myself really loving the characters, what they are and what they've already become in my mind, so I couldn't help myself but type what I know best... A sickfic. Also, this fandom needs more of this stuff, so here. I'm providing. Is this story OOC? Chances they are. Was it absolutely a blast to write? You bet. I'm probably gonna look back on it later down the lane and be uncomfortable with how I depicted the characters; but you do need to discover the characters first, and what better opportunity for that than a little sickfic with some angst and pre-rel dramatic tension? Anyway, I hope you'll like this lil' thing I busted out in literally a couple hours. I forgot how fun it was to write without worrying yourself over continuity or already established elements like in Earth Never Stops... Btw, this fic was originally requested to me as a FE3H fill for Hubert, so I decided I'd most likely use another square on my card for him. Sorry Nonnie for this, my inspiration got the best of me yet again!

Candles in the Rain
Summary: Is feverishly staggering through the damp streets of Hammerlocke under the rain with very little hope to feel warmth again and even less sense of direction a fitting end for a former Champion now that he's been defeated once? Scratch that: he doesn't have the time or brain power remaining to process such a question. Or: Leon witnesses a miracle in the form of a little dog and a childhood friend.
Fandom: Pokémon Sword and Shield (post-canon/game: beware for spoilers) Relationships: Pre-relationship Leon/Sonia
Wordcount: 3.1K words
Event hosted by @badthingshappenbingo
AO3 version available here.
-------------
The streets of Hammerlocke are covered by a thick layer of rainwater, typical early winter in Galar. Nobody dares going against the terrible weather, which isn’t unlike the flooding that almost ate Kabu’s region of origin, or rather how he once described it based on bedtime stories, a couple thousand years ago. Honestly, after what Galar just went through, he can believe the tale to have been real all along, no issue there…
As always, he’s lost in the grand city of his main rival, and that frustrates him. He’s cold from the water having filled his shoes and wet his hair for hours and hours on end, not even the fire of the camp being able to make him feel warmer. If it wasn’t for his partners’ demands, urging him to stop camping in the wilderness and find a Centre already, he’d have surely stayed in the Wild Area and biked to a better spot. Ah, he misses Postwick, now. At least, he can’t get lost in Postwick, there’d be Hop and his now-Champion best friend, if not Sonia paying them all a visit, and there’d be the warmth of his childhood home… Gods, perhaps he does miss the peaceful life of a ten-year-old whose only contact to the Gym Challenge is dreams of grandeur.
Ah, if it didn’t rain so badly, Charizard could be warming the both of them as he tried to make his way to the nearest Centre.
Despite his best efforts to remain proud and confident, he ends up having to lean against a wall to stop a coughing fit from suddenly urging itself out of there. He must look pathetic and he does wish, deep down, that someone would get out of their house for a reason or another, recognize him like literally everybody in Galar; but his pride and brand would be on the line, and nobody is fighting against the terrible, terrible weather today. He’s all alone in the streets of the city, pushing himself from the wall with wobbly arms, trying his hardest to remember where to go with slow, hazy thoughts…
Even if he was cold merely moments before, his head now burns. He feels too hot under clothes that are wildly unfitting of such a muddy season, despite the hair rising on what is exposed of his arms. A Cramorant stole his jacket when he was training, a Linoone tried to steal his stuff, and he ended up having a Pokemon knocked out and losing most of his healing items in the kerfuffle. It really hasn’t been his day, lately…
His chest hurts. Not from the outside, as if he had injured himself in one of the falls he endured trying to feel from the Wild Area with no Pokemon to battle with and the slippery grass constantly trying to get the best of him, but from the inside. He doesn’t doubt the possible existence of bruises under the shirt that sticks to his limbs like a second, drenched skin; but this isn’t it. It intensifies when he coughs and it rattles strangely. When he tries to ignore the excruciating weather wishing for his demise, he hears the strange sounds his breathing now makes. He doesn’t know them so, in a moment of out-of-character lack of reason, he gets scared of them and vaguely wonders about worst-case scenarios.
It isn’t just his chest either. It’s his throat, it’s his mouth, it’s his feet, it’s his legs. Everything in his body is tired and screaming for rest, but he cannot provide it for any of his own self at the moment, stuck trying to navigate with what little he can distinguish with almost-closed eyes from how much he has to squint. His eyes can’t focus anymore, this much he realizes with a bitter sense of resignation, so everything he sees is blurry, including the weird gooey stuff he keeps coughing out whenever he can’t breathe anymore and has to stop for who knows how long.
He trips over his own unmade shoe tie, losing in one fell swoop what was left of his balance, and falls right into the rainwater that has accumulated on the ground. It sounds and looks and feels like it’s the end, that this is where his journey ends: in some damp street of a city that he has never been able to find his way in, alone, cold and hot at the same time, rain burying him with the rest of the pavement. Not that he even thinks he has the energy to go on… Not like that. Not when his strength, the only thing he thought he had left, has all but given up on him too. Truly alone in a time where, sitting against a giant wall, he realizes what has been going on and poisoning his breath. Hah, ironic.
Still, this isn’t how he should admit defeat. He’s been won over now, and recently at that, and it’d be more than a shame for him to all but give up now. He needs to bring his team to the Centre, he can’t not try taking his revenge on the new Champion, he can’t not at least prove his superior battle skills to Raihan yet again, he just can’t leave Hop, and Sonia, and everyone else like that…
So he rises up once again, on weak arms and unsteady legs, almost tripping over himself, shoulder stuck against the wall. He won’t let this be the end of him.
Even with a new resolve, it still doesn’t make it much better for him. Unless there’s a miracle happening right before him, he’s stuck with his heavily weakened state trying to find a place whose location he has no idea. His phone doesn’t seem to be able to show a map, its signal disturbed after whatever happened to it while he was looking or doing the polar opposite, so he’s stuck with his truly inefficient sense of orientation.
But it’ll be okay. It’ll have to be okay, because he needs to see Hop become a Professor, to buy Sonia’s new book, to rematch the Champion and his Leader friends, to give his team at least one more chance to shine. It’ll be okay, surely it’ll be okay, of course it’ll be okay… It’ll be okay, because this is all a terrible nightmare he’s going to wake up from, where he isn’t stuck in the torrential rain with a fainted party and very little hope of finding way out.
It’ll be okay, oh so okay…
He tumbles and falls over again, this time hitting the ground with no grace whatsoever, most likely scratching elbows and knees in the process. Even rising his head up as not to cough in water when a fit claws at his throat again takes most of the energy he has left, only for his blurry sight and cottoned-down hearing to spot the first good thing in who knows many hours: a familiar yelp and vague brown-and-yellow figure rushing towards him.
With a trembling and feeble hand, he tries reaching out to the Yamper who has guided him so many times out of dangerous situations, only for an oh so familiar voice to yell in his direction. Still, it’s hard to know if it’s real or just his imagination. Ah, well; he’ll have to see when he’ll have woken up. If he even wakes up from the darkness starting to invade his vision…
“Yamper, where in the world are you running like that?!” This creature never stops running, doesn’t it? “Yamper, wait for me!”
If she’s used to her trusty furry assistant running around everywhere it goes and pursuing it, Sonia has to notice there’s something odd in the air. Yamper never goes this fast, especially not in a city where it could smash muzzle first into people. There’s an urgent feeling to its yelps as it runs in one precise direction.
As suddenly as Yamper started running when she had just gone out of the vault to investigate a little bit more into the Galar mythos she had become a specialist of, it stops right in its tracks in a little street she’s frankly never seen nor noticed before. With how much it’s raining and how unlikely it is to stop pouring soon, she doesn’t want the both of them out for much longer than needed.
She stops to regain her breath, hands on her knees as she folds in two, wet red hair hanging from her head. Yamper stays in place, running around her in circles, then disappearing from her view into the old, little street covered in rain and shadows. It doesn’t seem to have any intent on leaving soon.
 --------
“Why did you… bring me here…? Seriously, it’s raining Growlithes and Purrloins…!”
Still, Sonia gets herself together and goes on to follow her “assistant”. There’s dread building in her chest and stomach that she can hardly ignore… She’s seen enough movies as a teenager to know where this is going. She’s going to end up tangled into some messed-up situation, isn’t she…?
Her heart skips a beat when she notices a very familiar person lying face down on the pavement, drenched to the bone. A person who hasn’t given her any response or sign of life for a few days.
Someone who’s gotten lost in Hammerlocke again.
 -------
When he wakes up, everything feels different than the last time he’s been awake. It’s all white, dry and soft. He stills feels too hot and too cold, breathing remains a chore and he wishes he wasn’t there anyway; but he supposes he’s now safe and, honestly, he can’t think of anything much worse than treading through the torrential rain with little strength left.
Now, if he knew what the thing on his face was, he’d be doing a bit better, but his arms feel like they’re made out of lead and he lacks the energy to rise them to his mouth and at least touch it…
 “Leon?”
The voice, even if it’s muffled, is undoubtedly Sonia’s. He can’t quite put a finger on why exactly, yet he feels like this confirms something. If his chest didn’t feel so heavy and full, he’d have sighed in relief. That doesn’t prevent him from coughing again when trying to respond to his own name.
“Let me do the talking, okay? I’m sure you have a metric ton of questions to ask, but for the love of Galar, spare your voice unless necessary.”
Now that his vision is focusing again, he notices both the pipe inserted in his wrist and the frown on her face. She seems less than content with something. What, he doesn’t quite know, and thinking hurts his head even further than it already bothers him, heavy on his neck despite resting on a pillow. Speaking of which, where is his stuff? His clothes?
“Hey, hey, hey,” Sonia rises from her chair and puts her hands on his chest, putting him back into his mattress. “You stay here and don’t cause anyone any worry more than you’ve already done!”
He’s confused as to why she’s so adamant on him not doing anything. No speaking, no moving… If he didn’t feel this drained and lethargic, he’d absolutely get back at her with playfulness. Well, that does kind of answer his own question, doesn’t it? Or, at least, it seems to make sense to his brain which has troubles keeping up with the situation…
Yet, he sees a small smirk contrast with her frowned eyebrows. She seems… pained. Pained by what, or who, he doesn’t know; he’s most likely at least partially responsible for it, because she wouldn’t be there otherwise.
“I don’t know how you’ve ended up in that situation exactly, Leon, but you’ve managed to surpass yourself in terms of putting yourself in harm’s way. You’ve scared us before, but not to that extent!”
“I…” His voice sounds hoarse and it absolutely feels that way. “It’s complicated…”
“Your entire party was fainted, safe for Charizard who was about to follow; you somehow bricked your phone in the process and ended up catching more than a death of cold. Where were you during all that time?!”
Sonia sounds a bit too scared for someone who’s facing her childhood friend stuck in a bed.
“The Wild Area…”
“That’d explain why you were soaked to the bone when I found you lying in a puddle… You’ll have to excuse me for using that crude language, you scared everyone on that one!”
It’s his turn to ask a little question, even if the state of his body makes him want to remain quiet. Still, no matter how intelligent she is, Sonia doesn’t read minds, so he’s somewhat forced to go through with it if he wants his answers.
“Where are we?”
“A clinic in Hammerlocke. I forgot to add you also scared the ER staff with how bad your breathing was.” Has to be that irritating wheezing sound he’s hearing since he’s woken up. “By the way, since I know you’re going to ask me about that, your team is safe and doing much better now. They’re all gently resting in their balls while you recover.”
He misses Charizard and everyone else already. He owes them a big apology, that’s for sure, but he’s also certain his brain can’t process much right now. Sometimes, you just need to admit yourself to have been defeated… even if it bothers you to no end.
Sonia paces around for a little bit before sitting down on the chair next to the bed, arms still crossed. She sounds more than frustrated, and, well… He can’t really hold it against her, can he? He already can barely hold anything against her to begin with, considering how much they’ve lived through together; it’s not today, in these circumstances, that he’ll try finding a reason for her not to be frustrated. Who knows how long he’s been gone without giving news: he frankly, forgot how quickly or slowly time was passing while he was wandering through the Wild Area.
“At least, you’re still here and breathing with us. Just, if you could not do that ever again, it’d be better, you know? I can’t always be there worrying after you when I’m now a Prof! Arceus, I don’t even imagine what sequence of events has thrown you into such a state. You looked absolutely pitiful when Yamper found you.”
He tries to puff at himself to ease the tension he feels rising, but all he ends up doing is coughing. And coughing. And coughing.
“What did I say about sparing your voice? Tch, you’ll never change, will you? You’ve always stubborn, after all, so there’s no reason that’ll change now. That’s part of your charm, I suppose.” She shrugs before suddenly darting her eyes away from him. “But you’re right, I shouldn’t have to worry! You were the Champion of Galar for more than ten years, why would I be afraid of you? That makes very little sense, haha!”
“S-Sonia…”
He only now spots the dark rings under her eyes and the hair pulling out of her ponytail, one strand at a time. How long was he out for, and for how much of that time was she there, exactly? (Hey, he does work fairly well, for someone who can’t stop sweating and whose entire frame is shaken up by chills at irregular intervals!). Too many questions, too little available brain space, he guesses…
“Go for it, make fun of your good old friend who still hasn’t gotten the memo. I should have been like Hop and blindly believed you’d come back to us, as you’ve always done…”
Oh, right, Hop! How is he doing, has he advanced in his research, does he still worry for him? Well, sadly, it’s not the time to think about his brother: his childhood friend seems to have a meltdown right in front of him.
“Why?”
Sonia stares at him, completely silent, eyes wide. Seems like she doesn’t have an answer to her own interrogation, until pain comes back on her face like the wave crashing on the shore.
“You don’t… think it’s ridiculous?”
“What?” His throat doesn’t take kindly to his attempts at having a conversation.
“Everything! We swore we’d trust each other, but look at me, worrying over you as if we were still kids running in the fields with the Wooloos… And I’m telling you all that while you’re cooking on the inside! Really, isn’t that ridiculous?”
Gathering his breath and his strength, he rises up with shaky arms against the bedhead, pillow still preventing his head from entirely lulling over his shoulder from how heavy it is. Whatever he’s caught, it’s one hell of an affliction he’s found himself with. Still, if it’s for Sonia, if she’s this distraught over the situation (he did almost pass away), he can put up with the migraine, the difficult breathing, the mask over his mouth, the lethargy, the chills…
“I’m sorry, Sonia.”
He does cough immediately after apologizing, as expected. For once, she doesn’t reply immediately, doesn’t make a witty remark; instead, she looks confused and maybe embarrassed, considering the red he can see with the eyes that still refuse to entirely focus for more than a few seconds.
“Sorry for what? And, again, spare your voice, you…”
“For all of this.”
Her expression softens, eyebrows drooping and eyes shining brighter. Even if it’s slight and his eyes almost miss it, she finally smiles.
“How long…?” He’s interrupted by a fit.
“How long you’ve been out?” He nods, still trying to calm his chest down. “Around half a day. You did wake up at some point but immediately passed out again. No wonder why you don’t remember that.”
He now points at her with an unsteady finger. “Why are you… Oh, how long I’ve been here?” He nods again. “Most of that time, I’d say. I’d also say I fell asleep at some point too…”
She crosses her arms again, just as his vision starts weakening again. It’s back to sleep, right?
“I think we both need our rest. I’m also certain Hop is waiting at the door, so you’ll even have a guardian angel watching over you, isn’t that super cool? And if you attempt rising from that bed, you’re sure to be put back into it in mere seconds!”
He’d try laughing if it didn’t trigger such a massive reaction from his lungs, so he decides to just nod instead.
“See you later, Leon. Goodnight.”
He waves at her, the lethargy still reflecting in his slow and sloppy gestures, but that’s fine enough for now. Her smile is worth it, isn’t it?
Absolutely worth trekking through the rain with full lungs and little energy left…

Heavy Heart, Heavy Soul: Chapter Sixteen
————————————
As Leon walked down the hallway towards the elevator, he couldn’t help but think of all the different ways he could turn Piers’s life into a living hell. He’s already made Raihan suffer quite a bit. Surely, having Raihan delete his social medias, having Raihan cut Piers’s name into his arm, and having Raihan quit his job as a Gym Leader was enough torture for Raihan, right? Leon didn’t seem to think so. And while there was not much Leon could do while Piers was in the hospital, this did not mean he couldn’t start planning ahead. Now of course, Leon wasn’t one to get cruel and aggressive towards people, but he just couldn’t stand to see Raihan be with Piers. His sweet and loyal, yet gullible and stupid Raihan… How could that man he cared about the safety of so dearly possibly love that insomniac rockstar? Leon didn’t understand why Raihan was so insistent on staying with Piers. After all, the two essentially had nothing in common other than their fame… Wait… Perhaps that could be a key to ruining things further for them… Perhaps now, Leon could have an idea to play off from once Raihan leaves the hospital… Who ever said he couldn’t play a bit of an unfair game of screwing around with their fame? After all, Raihan still had one social media left. That’s all Leon needed. That is if he chose to hack Raihan’s social media, which may draw unwanted attention to himself. Maybe it’d be best for him to hack Piers’s social medias instead. So for now, he simply headed back to his home for the time being; simply to plot on how to further screw up Piers and Raihan’s life and to get Raihan away from Piers.
As time passed by, Leon had no choice other than to await for the day that Piers would be able to leave the hospital and wait for the day that Raihan wouldn’t be frequently staying by Piers’s side. After all, if Raihan was frequently by Piers’s side, if Leon hacked Piers’s account now, it would only begin looking suspicious to Raihan. And while Leon knew Raihan could be rather gullible at times, he didn’t plan on ever letting Raihan catch on to what the truth of the situation was. Though, at least Leon didn’t have to wait too incredibly long for the day Raihan would start being less clingy. Leon only had to wait approximately two weeks, five days, twelve hours, forty seven minutes, and fifty two seconds. And yes, Leon really kept note of how long he waited by the exact second. But that only makes him seem all the more desperate about breaking Raihan and Piers up, huh? This was likely because he really was quite desperate at this point. After all, he knew Raihan deserved better than Piers. Piers was a bad influence in Leon’s own opinion, not that anyone else could really see. But how could he screw with them more? Well, while the social media hacking could certainly work, that would likely end things far too quickly. And besides, Leon wanted them to suffer slowly. However, as much as he wanted to rush into this, he knew he had to have patience and keep the suspicion away from himself.
Currently with Raihan, he hasn’t stopped trying to figure out who had tried killing Piers, let alone why they even tried killing Piers. As far as Raihan knew, he thought Piers didn’t have any enemies, so, what reason would anyone have to want him dead? To say the least, Raihan was fearful for Piers’s safety. Yet, he knew he couldn’t be by Piers’s side 24/7. And now that he thinks about it, while he did want to be loyal to Piers, he also missed his job as a Gym Leader. Maybe he could convince Rose to give him another chance at being a Gym Leader again sometime… He didn’t know. As of the current moment, he was just walking to his home in Hammerlocke, wondering what to do now. After all, Piers told him that he wanted to have a break from seeing anyone for a while because Piers wanted to get some rest. That on it’s own, was kind of worrying Raihan. What if someone tried attacking Piers again? Would they try hurting Piers again? Then, Raihan remembered that Leon was still babysitting Marnie. And how was Marnie doing? He didn’t know. Something was giving him chills down his spine, yet, he couldn’t figure out why something was feeling so off to him. He got to his front door, taking out a key to unlock the front door. Once the door was unlocked, he walked into his house, closing the door behind him and proceeded to go and sit down on the couch. Trying to think about who could have tried killing Piers was honestly starting to give Raihan a bit of a headache. Maybe it’d make him feel better if he texted Piers just to check on Piers? So, he opened the last social media he had, deciding to message Piers. The only thing is, he had no idea that Piers had his phone shut off and that Leon still secretly had access to Piers’s account.
>>Hey Piers? I understand you said you wanted some space from everyone for a bit so you could rest, but, I just wanted to see how you were doing. And if it makes you feel any better, I’ve been trying my best to try to figure out who attacked you, but so far, I can’t even figure out why someone would attack you. Do you have any ideas of why someone could have had motive to try to kill you?...<< After having typed the message, Raihan sent it to Piers, hoping Piers would respond soon. And wouldn’t you know it that Leon noticed the message almost right away? After all, he keeps a close eye on all activity that Piers and Raihan have on their social medias and their daily life. Leon couldn’t help but feel a chilling grin slowly creep up onto his face as he opened the app and read the message Raihan had sent to Piers. Though, seeing that Raihan was already trying to find out who attacked Piers honestly angered Leon a bit. Why did Raihan have to fucking care about the fact Piers got attacked? So what if Piers almost died?! That shouldn’t matter to Raihan! Or at least, that’s what Leon believed. Nonetheless, he decided to reply to the text, once more pretending to be Piers. >>I dunno, Raihan. A lot o’ people probably have some sort o’ motive ta want me dead. I don’t see why ya care so much ‘bout me though. Can’t ya just drop it an’ forget ‘bout all this for now? It doesn’t matter that I almost died, Raihan. Though, I am rather suspicious o’ how ya have been actin’ lately… Are ya sure that ya didn’t have anythin’ ta do wit’ me almost gettin’ killed?...<< Leon then sent the text. While he did know this would likely confuse Raihan a bit, that was the point of this. He wanted Raihan to start questioning himself and he knew that if he could get Raihan to believe that Piers thought that Raihan was involved, he could have Raihan do just about anything to prove his innocence to Piers. And with that, Leon could fuck Piers’s life up even further. But for now, all Leon had to do was wait for Raihan to reply.

As I announced a while back, I am adding a few new muses to the blog; Bede and Leon-- but I’ve also elected to add Chairman Rose to the roster as well.  While I am still working on their bios (I’m trying to juggle homework and rp jdfsdfbjsd and it’s slow goin-), I stated in my tags of that original post that these characters would be extremely canon divergent, and I hold true to that.  Enclosed here is the in depth explanation for the AU for which all SwSh muses operate under: the Rusted Sword and Broken Shield AU-- or RSBS for short.
Please use this for reference if you are confused about the verse for my muses.  This is an overview for the entire AU, so there’s some extra characters discussed as well aside from my muses.  I’d also like to give a quick shout-out to my buddy Koshi for reading over this and helping come up with a lot of Marnie’s arc (because I completely forgot about her the first time... whoops).  He doesn’t have a blog for me to tag unfortunately, but I sincerely appreciate the help!
Under the cut because it’s long.
Gloria is the player.
Hop like usual, idolizes Leon and has developed an arrogance from being the Champion’s brother.  He can’t separate his own identity from Leon’s and so becomes incredibly discouraged when he keeps losing to his rival.  It’s Gloria that ends up making Hop reconsider his choice to become a Trainer, rather than Bede.  Bede rubs it in, but he’s not the root cause.  Hop realizes he’s thought he was better than Gloria this entire time and learns to see her as an equal.
He learns by the end that you have to lose sometimes in order to grow as a person.  If you’re never challenged, you’ll stagnate as a person.  After seeing Leon struggle to take control of the situation with Macros Cosmos as well as his depression after being defeated, he realizes Leon is another human being, like anyone else.  He comes to respect his brother rather than worship him.
He finally admits that he never really enjoyed training in the first place and Sonia allows Hop to be her lab assistant so he can train to become a Professor.
Marnie is less friendly to the player, Hop, and Bede at first.  She’s taken that resent of Dynamaxing to heart thanks to Spikemuth’s lack of a power hot spot, leading to Piers’ obscurity.  She wants to prove that someone can be Champion without needing to use Dynamaxing, and she manages to convince her brother Piers to give her an endorsement to prove herself.  If she fails, she promises to return and take over Spikemuth Gym for him.
Marnie doesn’t hate her rivals, but she resents them because they’re “special”-- having been endorsed by the Chairman and Champion.  Although she too was chosen by a League member, she feels as though Piers and Spikemuth are at a disadvantage.  Team Yell essentially hold their same position as in the original game, except that they have a strong dislike of Chairman Rose and the current state of the League.
Yell views Marnie as their Champion and cheer her on to victory.  Marnie is just as tired and annoyed by them, but she appreciates the support.  Although she ultimately loses to Gloria, she’s proud to have stuck to her guns about keeping away from Dynamaxing.  She becomes good friends with all her rivals by the end.  She and Piers later help evacuate Hammerlocke during Eternatus’ attack.
THE CHAIRMAN’S CHOICE
Bede starts out the same.  He’s sponsored by Chairman Rose, who has encouraged him to become a Trainer in order to pull himself out of his miserable childhood.  After hearing about Galar’s alleged impending energy crisis, he begins collecting Wishing Stars for Rose.  After he desecrates the monument at Stow-on-Side, Rose pulls him from the Gym Challenge.
However, Rose does not wash his hands of Bede.  He continues to encourage Bede, who is desperate for his approval and paternal affection.  He tells Bede that withdrawing from the Gym Challenge was to show that Bede had been punished properly; however, he sets the boy out on a new mission.
Not only does Bede continue collecting Wishing Stars, he is also attempting to take people’s Dynamax bands from them as well as seeking ways to harness some of the Dynamax energy from the stadiums.  It’s Bede who accidentally causes the first Dynamax incident in Hammerlocke when he is given a tour with Oleana and Rose, who intentionally leave him to his own devices in the Energy Plant.  The power failure is all orchestrated by Rose, but he makes Bede believe it was entirely his fault.
Bede eventually becomes the “fall guy” for Macro Cosmos.  By using the unaware teenager, Rose can divert attention away from himself and make himself out to be the good guy as he attempts to “teach” Bede to be better, all while stringing Bede along by getting closer with the young man as a father figure.
Whilst waxing about the state of Galar’s energy, Rose “accidentally” lets slip the mention of Eternatus, a being that could help forever power Galar if only they could harness its energy.  Although it’s buried deep below Hammerlocke and its energy provides much already to Galar, it’s not enough.
Bede decides to take matters into his own hands and attempts to summon Eternatus to help Rose by utilizing the machine to wake up the creature.  Just as planned, Rose again is able to blame Bede for everything in order to get people to cling even closer to his company.
Chairman Rose then discards of Bede now that his plans have completed, telling him he’s unlovable and too hard to “fix,” but thanks him for the help.  Hurt, Bede finally realizes he’d been used this whole time, but had repressed it due to his wanting to belong and be accepted by Rose.  He slinks back to Gloria and Hop and agrees to help them.  Although Rose hasn’t told him much, he has enough insider information in order to help them defeat Rose and Eternatus before it’s too late.  He’s injured battling Eternatus, but gives Gloria and Hop enough time to summon Zacian and Zamazenta in order to defeat Eternamax Eternatus.
After redeeming himself to the best of his abilities, Opal finally offers Bede the position of Ballonlea Gym Leader.  She met him during his initial withdrawal from the Challenge, but knew he had growing to do, but she encouraged him from the sidelines, always hoping that he would come around and learn to be better.
UNLEEFEATED
Leon is quite the same to start out as well.  He’s kind and cheerful, but ultimately shallow and arrogant.  Being the undefeated Champion of Galar for over ten years, he’s stagnated.  Although he never loses until Gloria comes along, he doesn’t learn much from his experiences.  His arrogance rubs off on Hop.
Although Leon believes in Hop, he still thinks his little brother will never match the talent for training that he has.  Gloria he sees more potential in, but still doubts he’ll ever be defeated.  However, curious to see how they’ll grow, Leon gives the two starter Pokemon as well as an endorsement so they may participate in the Gym Challenge.
Leon and Sonia’s formal rivalry is more highlighted.  The two had a falling out years ago due to Leon’s arrogance.  Sonia had enough of his inadvertent talking down to her during the Challenge as well as when she decides to quit in order to become a researcher, and the two had a massive falling out once Sonia felt she couldn’t even recognize Leon anymore after he took the Champion’s title.
Leon carries a lot of guilt for how he treated Sonia, but has repressed it enough to ignore it rather than ever try to bridge the gap between them.  He instead throws his investment in a rivalry and friendship with Raihan.  As he begins to encounter Sonia more and more over the course of Hop and Gloria’s journey, those feelings of sadness and regret return.
Before the Gym Finals, Rose approaches Leon to discuss business with him about Galar.  Rose is concerned for the energy that Galar will have, and shows Leon that the “endless” energy emanating from deep within Galar is starting to rapidly deplete all of the sudden.  Leon is shocked, and feels uncertain about Rose’s plan to fix it, and promises to think it over after the finals are done.
Once Leon is defeated for the first time by Gloria, he experiences a huge mix of emotions.  While he knows he should be proud of Gloria, a sadness eats away at him.  He feels empty now that he isn’t Galar’s undefeated hero anymore.  He had attached his entire identity to that ideal, and now, it’s gone.  While Rose exploits him at his lowest, Leon eventually comes to terms with his defeat.
He becomes proud of Gloria defeating him and throws himself at a new project: renovating Rose Tower into the Battle Tower so he can continue battling new and strong trainers.  Once Hop is given the assistant position to Sonia, Leon finally swallows his pride and apologizes to her.  While it doesn’t completely fix the tension between them, it’s a start, and Leon works at becoming at growing as a person and trainer.  Things are looking just as up for him as ever.
GALAR’S MOST BELOVED
Chairman Rose is a fucking bitch and I’ve had enough of him.  Basically, he’s not a big fucking idiot in this version.  He plays much harder into the role of the good guy, using Bede and other distractions in order to draw attention away from the fact that he is orchestrating a plot to take over Galar.
After all, Rose already controls a vast majority of the industry in Galar, as well as having the Pokemon League in his pocket.  He orchestrates a fake crisis about Galar’s energy, hoping to scare people into giving him more power.  This eventually culminates into false attacks on energy in Hammerlocke as well as the summoning of Eternatus.
He unintentionally almost summons Eternatus earlier in the story whilst attempting to pull more energy from the power spot in Hammerlocke, but fails, only to realize what opportunity he has.  Eternatus is stirring, and begins to eat away at the energy reserves at a dangerous rate.
After he tricks Bede into summoning the beast, Rose lets Eternatus wreak havoc by acting as if it was another error by the boy, who he constantly manipulates and feels little for.  He hopes to re-establish his role as the leader of Galar by helping defeat Eternatus, taking responsibility for Bede’s actions.  He has an untested device that will ideally contain Eternatus, but only in the event of Leon and his failure to defeat it.
Seeing Leon unable to beat Eternatus, he attempts to kill Leon in hopes of drumming up sympathy, wanting to make Leon a martyr for Macro Cosmos.  Then, he would attempt to use the device to placate Eternatus and utilize its power to further help Galar and prove how badly the region needs him.  However, he is defeated by Bede and then captured by authorities, jailed and his business dissolved.
HOW ABOUT THE PLOT?
There’s a lot of the same beats as in the vanilla game, but with some changes.  When the Dynamax incident happens in Hammerlocke, Hop and Gloria go to investigate, only to find Bede responsible for the incident.  They battle, argue a bit, and then try to help fix the problem, only to be stopped by Leon.  Leon is upset that the kids would disobey him when he told them to move on without worry, but was glad to see them stop Bede.
Bede is encountered a few more times throughout the game generally causing trouble on behalf of Chairman Rose, who continues to sigh and look like the tired father figure to the boy.  Opal attempts to nudge Bede towards realizing his true potential, as well as that he will not find meaning or value in trying to fight for Rose’s affection, but goes unheard.
There are unusual earthquakes and things happening with Dynamaxing.  Sometimes Pokemon randomly start and stop Dynamaxing in different areas.  Macro Cosmos promises to investigate but encourages everyone to continue their Gym Challenges and Dynamaxing to the best of their ability.
When Leon takes the kids out to dinner to celebrate them making it to Wyndon, Hop doesn’t freak out.  Leon texts them to let them know he’ll be late, and eventually, the kids are invited to Rose Tower when it appears that the meeting is growing longer and longer.  Rose gives them a tour, and explains that he and Leon are simply discussing some troubles with Galar, again disparaging Bede for his foolish actions in order to “help” the issue, before sending them on their way.  Hop and Gloria have a bad feeling about it, but don’t say anything.
Leon is defeated without any outside interference from Rose.  After a party celebrating Gloria’s win a few days later, Eternatus breaks out of Hammerlocke and starts wreaking havoc.
Rose approaches Leon and begs him to help.  He tells Leon that although Gloria overcame him, he is still Galar’s strongest hero, and that he’ll be loved in the hearts of millions if he is the one to defeat Eternatus.  He’d show Galar that he didn’t need to be undefeated to be a hero and a winner.  Leon agrees both out of duty and out of a need to “prove” himself to Galar once more.
Leon and Rose confront Eternatus together at the top of Hammerlocke Stadium.  Rose promises to fight alongside Leon, but soon disappears as the battle grows wilder.  Leon hardly notices as he fights to protect his and his Pokemon’s lives.  Leon tosses a Master Ball given to him by Rose just before in order to catch the dragon, but it fails.  Eternatus is uncatchable.  The beast bursts out of the ball and attacks Leon and his Charizard with even fiercer determination.
Leon starts to lose hope and confidence in himself, and soon nearly his entire team, save for his Charizard, is wiped out by Eternatus.  He attempts to escape, but Rose reappears to stop him, demanding to know why he’s giving up.  When Leon tries to leave again after explaining himself, Oleana knocks Leon out and they leave him to be devoured by Eternatus.
Bede soon arrives to stop the Chairman from his plans in order to give Hop and Gloria time to grab the sword and shield and to arrive back in Hammerlocke.  He manages to fight off Rose and Oleana, but finds himself beaten by Eternatus as well.  It’s just enough for him to try and drag Leon to safety before Gloria and Hop soon arrive, and begin to battle Eternatus with the help of Zacian and Zamazenta.
Leon comes to in the middle of battle and rushes back out once he hears the sound of the beast from outside.  As much as Bede attempts to stop him, they both arrive at the top again to see Gloria, Hop, and the legendary wolves defeating Eternatus’ Eternamax form.  The Pokemon loses its form and collapses into a pile of bones, the energy dissipating and being taken by the wolves, who returned to their resting place in Slumbering Weald.
Authorities catch up with Rose and Oleana and the two are arrested.  Macros Cosmos is dissolved.  Dynamaxing is no more thanks to Eternatus’ defeat, but the Gym Challenge roars on.  Zacian and Zamazenta absorbed the energy, spreading it evenly throughout Galar, helping the energy issue but preventing Dynamaxing from occuring.  People cope with the loss, but enjoy the act of simply battling anyways, learning about other forms of ultimate evolutions, such as the Megas from Kalos.
Not sure about the post game yet because I hate those sword and shield hair fucks and I don’t feel like coming up with a reasonable plot for them.  That’s not really important to the AU anyways, but if I come up with something, this post will be amended and I will make a note of it.

GOODNIGHT, SLEEP TIGHT,
SWEET DREAMS, TILL MORNING LIGHT"
...
...
A few days ago, Unova.
"Tell me how you're feeling. And try to be as honest as you can."
"...Well, where should I start?" She says, fidgeting in her seat, ".....I've noticed that nothing makes me happy anymore. The things I used to like to do - I don't feel anything for them. It either feels like a chore or I can't bring myself to do it. In fact, I don't have the energy to do it and I don't know why. I used to have a lot of hobbies; I had pokemon, I trained them, I travelled all over Unova, but gradually those went away one by one and it's getting really out of hand. I mean, I can't even get out of bed somedays. It's affecting my work, my life... My best friend recently told me she's dating a gym leader and I helped her look up her boyfriend's ex-girlfriend online and it turns out she's a supermodel. My friend got really insecure and I told her she shouldn't compare or feel lousy about herself. But hell....look at me. Don't get me wrong! I'm not jealous. I just...well...I feel useless. Out of all my friends, I'm the only one who is still single. I feel so lost and confused and I don't know who I am anymore and I keep feeling like I'm such a failure and I don't know why I'm here. I-I mean I feel the world is better off if I'm not in it."
There is a silence following.
A very long silence.
"I think you're depressed." The counsellor says, writing some notes on her notebook.
"...Oh."
"Have you tried antidepressants?"
"No."
"Then let me prescribe you some. It'll make you feel better."
"Are there any side effects?"
"There are some, but you shouldn't worry about them. Is there anything else you want off your chest?"
"Um, I'm not sure, I think that's about it." She mutters, before she exhales silently, throwing her gaze to the floor. "Actually, I don't think I can do this. Sorry, I don't mean to waste your time but this isn't really my sort of thing. I should get back to work."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah." She picks up her bag and coat and thanks the lady, then leaves the counsellor's office hurriedly.
Well, she gave it a shot and it was pretty awkward. There really is far more to talk about, of course. Work sucks, her boss is horrible, her colleagues are backstabbing bitches, her pay is low. She's burnt out, exhausted - both mentally and physically. Her life is an endless loop - get up, go to work, go home, go to sleep - rinse and repeat...
There must be more to my life than this, right?
She walks down the street and stops at a pedestrian crossing; whilst waiting for the green Cacturne to appear, she takes out her phone and opens up a message that contains a picture of Leon, the Champion of Galar - her friend is trying to set her up with him. She hasn't officially met him yet because they're waiting for Opal to get the deets from Leon himself, and she forces out a laugh, wondering how things will change should they ever meet.
I guess this is the only good thing going on in my life right now. I can't afford to mess this up.
The green Cacturne appears and she slips her phone into her bag; she takes a few steps forward...and the sound of screeching brakes is the only thing she hears before a force slams into her from the side and everything goes black.
Present.
Espeon wakes up.
The front door is being unlocked. She sits upright, stretches in her basket and trots over, cocking her head to the side. On the frosted glass, she can see two shadowy figures and she can hear muffled conversation. It's her owner and her shiny new boyfriend. Espeon knows what this means and heads over to Goomy who is sleeping underneath a potted plant.
They're the only pokemon left in the lounge and Goomy wakes up after she prods him awake; Espeon meows once more just to get the message across. Goomy lets out an impossibly loud yawn before he inches to his pokeball, using a horn to push down on the button, returning to his capsule to sleep in peace. Espeon does the same, finding her capsule which is kept tucked near her basket and pressing down on the button.
She does this just in time when the front door finally opens and you step in with Raihan; he has his arms wrapped around you, pressing his lips over your neck heatedly whilst you close the door behind you. The living room is dark and you don't see your pokemon around - which means they're in their pokeballs and that's a good thing because you don't want them to witness this and also, they respect your privacy.
Reaching for the lights, you flip the switch and the lounge is lit up at once. You walk yourself and Raihan over to your sofa as he concentrates on applying light kisses over your jaw. You can pull the bottom of the sofa to turn it into a bed but Raihan plops himself down over a plush seat and pulls you into his lap, grinning up at you. You can only smile in return as he begins to remove your clothes, starting with your t-shirt whilst you begin to pull his headband and hoodie off.
Whilst Rose was admitted to hospital and Oleana, Leon and a few gym leaders accompanied him, you and Raihan gave some testimony to the police and then you were pretty much free to go.
The situation at the hotel is now under the control of the police and generally, everything's calming down now and returning back to normal therefore there’s no need to return. You didn't need to go to hospital either so you decided to go home and Raihan declined all interviews and photos with the paparazzi to go with you. Luckily, you weren't followed on your way back.
He hasn't been able to keep his hands off you and in the Corviknight taxi, he was tense, his hand never leaving your thigh. You were both throwing quick, somewhat flirty looks to one another from the corner of your eyes before your gaze would unexpectedly land to his crotch and his hand would slide up over your leg just an inch higher.
You wonder what might lie in store for you tonight as he was eager to get the both of you to a quiet and private place where you would be undisturbed. His home was really the closest option but you've both decided that he will spend the night at yours for a change.
And now that you're here, he wastes no time in getting the both of you naked as soon as possible.
As you kiss fiercely, he takes off your shirt and you have no choice but to break apart briefly so you can lift it over your head before tossing it to the ground somewhere and soon the rest of your clothes follow along with his. He pulls you back into his arms, his lips capturing yours in one intense kiss.
You’re wearing one of your sexy lingerie sets again which he appreciates as he occupies himself, running his fingers over the thin material of your panties and the black lacy cups of your bra although the garments are quickly pulled off your body in a few moments and before you know it, you're completely naked before him.
“Too bad you’re not wearing that dress I got you for the party,” Raihan mutters with a grin, “I was looking forward to ripping it off your body.”
You blush heavily in response as he looks at you from head to toe, using his hands to explore your body thoroughly. He caresses your ass and thigh and fondles your breast; he cups your plump mound in his palm then uses the tip of his thumb to brush over your nipple and tweaks it between his fingers and you gasp softly, closing your eyes as he leans forwards and feeds each of your breasts into his mouth, sucking your nipples keenly. You clutch onto his shoulders and dig your fingernails into his skin, holding him close to your bosom as he suckles and licks.
His erection nudges against your inner thigh, and you gently grasp his stiff organ and he hesitates as your fingers close around his length and begin to slowly pump. He sucks harder on your breast as you circle the tip of his arousal with your thumb and Raihan releases you with a wet pop, chuckling at your audacity.
Pulling you even closer to him, he begins to guide his aching member towards your entrance and you lift yourself off his lap slightly. He’s not using a condom this time and admittedly, it’s a better experience as long as you’re still on the pill. When he's angled himself properly, he eases himself inside you, prodding the tip against your folds and pushing them apart.
You're already wet for him and you let out a contented moan, biting down on your lip as he penetrates you with his engorged tip and slides all the way in and to the hilt, stretching your walls as much as possible. You lower yourself back down and he slides his hands from your waist and down to your ass, squeezing on your cheeks and grasping firmly which makes you flush even more.
Raihan begins to thrust immediately, forcing you to emit a satisfied moan. You gingerly rest your hands over his knees to keep yourself steady as you straddle his lap, riding him and meeting him thrust for thrust, rotating your hips and moving back and forth sensually.
He groans with pleasure, closing his eyes as he continues to pump upwards into your soft, warm core. With each thrust, he disappears deep inside you and withdraws, his cock coated in a slick sheen of juice, and he promptly thrusts back in, pushing your hips towards him so he can go even deeper. You moan loudly at the delicious friction, throwing your head back as you take all of him in, sheathing him with your hot, velvety walls. You let a ragged exhale as the pleasure begins to build up again.
You grab onto the sofa behind him, your hips knocking together as you're forced to pull your legs up due to the close proximity. He draws you into his embrace regardless, where you can feel his heartbeat against his ribs.
He buries his nose between your breasts as you move in unison, his hands clamping down firmly on your ass to control you, forcing you to move up and down on his cock whilst drawing a nipple between his teeth and into his mouth, running his tongue over your stiffening bud.
You moan his name, toes curling as his cock presses inside you deeply than ever before. He continues to tease, exploring your sopping pussy with his thick shaft whilst sucking on your breasts, lavishing you all over with his tongue.
When he finally lets go, you’re left panting and he hungrily presses his lips against yours, your tongues tangling once you open your mouth for air, allowing him entry. He pumps inside you continuously whilst you grow still, allowing him to take over, enjoying the feel of his arousal stroking your walls until you're raw.
You groan shamelessly before you begin to rotate your hips around his shaft, grinding your hips against his and rubbing your ass over his balls and Raihan grunts loudly, holding you even closer and pushing his cock inside you thoroughly, ensuring you are able to feel him as much as possible when he comes.
His legs twitch and you cry out as he holds onto you tightly as he cums, his seed shooting inside; Raihan loosens his grip with a satisfied groan, throwing his glance to you and your eyes meet. Panting, you cup his jaw with your hand and he leans forwards, your lips pressing together in a passionate kiss before you both pull away.
He searches your eyes for a quick moment before withdrawing, and you take this time to inhale a deep breath and brush your hair back before he moves you close to one armrest of the sofa; your heart beats wildly as you try to get up but he stops you by towering over you from behind, his chest pressing over your back.
He's never taken you in this position before and you emit a sigh as he presses a soft kiss on your shoulder and another on your upper back, trailing gentle kisses along the sinewy outline of your spine and you arch instinctively in response.
With a smirk, Raihan moves to his knees and you throw a curious glance behind you just as he abruptly pulls on your waist and your ass is pushed firmly against his hips.
You swallow down, shuddering all over as he begins nudging your legs apart. Gripping the armrest, you whimper as he grasps his arousal with his fist and angles it towards your dripping entrance, prodding his member against your swollen lips before entering you once more albeit from behind and with more force than usual, pushing his cock firmly inside and you hiss under your breath at the intrusion, your walls stretched to their maximum once again.
Raihan begins to thrust and you squeeze your eyes shut, holding onto the armrest for support as he grasps you by the hips again and pulls you towards him. "Do you know how long I’ve wanted to do this to you?" He growls, and your cheeks go pink.
You bite down on your lip as he pounds into you, hard. A fierce pace is set already which he controls with his hands on your hips, guiding you to move with him.
However, his large hands abandon your hips to rest on your back and you’re left to rut against him, letting yourself be pleasured by him. He caresses you all over, hands trailing over your shoulders before they find your breasts. He fondles and massages your chest, squeezing your nipples and pushing your breasts together before letting go briefly only to squeeze them together in his palms once more. You pant heavily as his hands return to your hips and ass, caressing you sensually before giving you a light smack.
You hang your head low, panting and groaning with pleasure whilst he lets go of your waist to grab your breasts once more, cupping them as they bounce into his palms from his forceful movements. Your brows furrow tightly before you decide to lower yourself over the sofa even further, moaning with content as he pinches your nipples.
As he thrusts, you rut back and forth against his hips and you grip the armrest tightly, your knuckles turning white.
He watches as he disappears inside your body and increases the pace, his thrusts becoming more intense and aggressive. Releasing one of your breasts, his hand travels down to your clit, fingers rubbing you furiously where your bodies are joined and you can't help but cry out.
The sofa begins to protest loudly from your movements, the legs of the couch scraping against the floor but he doesn’t stop. Lowering himself over you, he brushes your hair over one shoulder to nibble on the shell of your ear and over your temple, before finally pushing his lips against yours in a harsh but passionate kiss when you turn to face him.
Soon, he abandons your very sensitive clit, wrapping his arms around your waist and burying his nose into the side of your neck, thrusting into you fiercely from behind. Your fingernails dig into the leather, your legs threatening to give way. You can hear him grunting loudly against your ear although they sound rather feral, almost like snarling. You almost forgot how aggressive Raihan could be when it came to making love.
The sounds of his flesh slapping against yours and his wet cock driving inside your pussy fill your living room, along with your desperate pants and moans.
“Raihan, I...” You moan helplessly, squeezing your eyes shut.
You’re about to say it. You’re about to come but you discover words cannot escape your throat and you cry out louder and louder as he drives into you mercilessly; Raihan presses himself against your body firmly in one final thrust and spills his seed inside you.
You gasp uncontrollably, collapsing over the sofa with his arms wrapped around you. You ride the tremors that follow, enjoying the feeling that settles in your lower regions, your walls contracting firmly around his member.
Your heartbeat thunders as Raihan plants his face into the crook of your neck, kissing your nape affectionately before he grunts and lifts himself off your body, withdrawing from you at the same time.
Slowly sitting up beside him, you let out a hiss of pain, rubbing your back and thighs which are damp and laden with a mixture of cum and sweat. As you stretch, Raihan draws you into his lap, wrapping his arms around you securely until he notices the bite marks he inflicted on your body, ”Was I too rough?”
"Nope.” You reassure him, wrapping your arms around his neck; Raihan leans down and presses his lips firmly against yours whilst pulling you closer to him and you melt in his arms, closing your eyes as he pulls away for a split second to grin, before capturing your lips once more. You moan against him as he nibbles on the corners of your mouth and sucks on your bottom lip.
You believe another round might begin which you won't object to but you hear your stomach growling and all those thoughts grind to a complete and utter halt; Raihan begins to chuckle whilst you grow red.
"Let's order some food." He mutters, "What do you fancy?"
"I heard The Captain's Table is really good."
"Alright, let's order from there. Hey, Rotom." Raihan calls, and his phone flies out from his bag and in front of him.
"Zzzrt, yezzz?"
"Get me The Captain's Table menu."
"You got it!! Bzzzt, here ya go."
Raihan reaches for his phone gently and gestures for you to have a look; plucking the phone off him, you look through the online menu, particularly at some of the prices. It's pretty expensive - far more pricey than you realised and you inwardly gulp. "Tell me what you want and I'll get it for you." Raihan murmurs, giving you a tight squeeze.
As much as you're inclined to order the cheapest dish on the menu, you think it's best to order something which you can share with him. "What do you normally get?"
"The fettuccine."
"Let's order that then."
"Alright." He mutters, "It says we can get a free appetiser if we spend an additional hundred pokedollars."
"Well, um...let's see here....we could get a dessert?"
"They're very small portions though."
You both continue to scrutinise the menu intensely, hunching over the bright screen of his phone.
"What about the Malamar inspired squid'n fish curry?" He suggests.
"Okay, that sounds good." You reply with a smile and suddenly, Raihan gazes at you intently for a fraction longer than usual which makes your cheeks feel warm, "...What's wrong?"
Chuckling, he shakes his head and plops a hand on top of your head, ruffling your hair. "Nothing."
You don't think it's nothing but you decide not to press him on this matter; Raihan promptly calls the restaurant to order, but along with the curry and fettuccine, he orders a few more dishes and as you gape at him, he grins at you. When that's done, you and Raihan pull out the sofa bed properly and you grab a few pillows and the blanket from your bed and return to the lounge to join him, crawling into his lap and switching the TV on. You attempt to contact your boss - you try calling and messaging her but you receive no response. Recalling what Opal said to you at the party, you also try to call and message your friend, but to no avail.
Having had utterly no success in reaching anyone, you put your phone down and sprawl in Raihan's lap whilst he wraps his arms around your waist and you slide your hand atop of his. As he entwines your fingers together and holds your hand firmly with his, you throw your glance up to him but he merely smiles and presses his lips against your temple.
On the TV, the newscaster goes over the events at the Rose of the Rondelands before it shows a recording of your group outside the stadium being surrounded by the press. You're all too familiar with this scene when you see the journalists bombarding your group from every possible direction. You see Chairman Rose along with Leon, Kabu, Piers and Allister. And then there's you and Raihan but a tall journalist with a big camera blocks the majority of your face. Oh well, that's lucky....? The news quickly changes to show Eli being led away in a police car along with some captured members of Team Rocket and the newscaster reports that he's facing ten years in prison.
"Holy Beedrill." You croak. "Ten years?"
"...Eli and I used to be really good friends. I can't believe he's a Team Rocket Executive." Raihan mutters. He seems bothered by the news report so you change the channel.
"I'm sorry for what happened."
He doesn't reply, choosing to give your hand a tight squeeze. This new channel you've switched to is another news channel which proceeds to inform you that the gym challenge is to be put on hold in respect to the injured Rose, who has announced that all gyms are to be closed for a week. Stunned, you and Raihan quickly exchange glances.
"Rose has never given us a break before. He must be in a good mood."
"Really?"
"Yeah. Why don’t we visit Hoenn?" He adds, "Or we can go to Johto. We can visit the Dragon's Den in Blackthorn City."
"You've never been?"
"Nope."
"I trained there; I tried to catch a Dratini but they kept running away from me."
"Let's catch one together."
"Okay." You smile fondly at him and he grins in response, "But I'll need to check with my boss first. She hasn't messaged me yet."
Whilst Raihan begins looking up prices, you switch to a different channel again and it's also showing a brief recap of tonight's news albeit the presenter is dressed in casual wear and overall, it's an informal show.
"Team Rocket reared their ugly head tonight, but they were swiftly defeated by none other than Galar's gym leaders including our beloved Champion, Leon! Also, Hammerlocke's gym leader - who has recently confirmed he's dating - was seen this evening with his mysterious girlfriend. Looks like there's no more secrecy - the couple were photographed directly outside of Hammerlocke stadium and even posed for the camera - " The presenter exclaims, before the photograph of yourself locking lips with Raihan appears on screen, "Believe it or not folks, Galar's dragon tamer is officially taken! Chairman Rose himself has credited Raihan's mystery girl to have been a vital asset in stopping Team Rocket..."
There's canned applause in the background and live comments are shown in a display ticker at the very bottom of the screen. Most of the comments are.... positive, surprisingly enough. The photo of yourself and Raihan appears on screen for a second time yet you merely stare.
Raihan glances at you, noticing your impassive reaction. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." You mutter; previously, you wondered whether you should tell Raihan about your encounter with Giratina, but you're not quite sure if it was all a dream.
You continue watching TV, sitting in his lap with his arms wrapped around you. There's nothing interesting on tonight. Occasionally, Raihan will smother you with kisses all over the side of your face, stroke your hair and nuzzle the top of your head. But most of the time, you just sit and chat. Then he'll caress your hand and squeeze your fingers. The takeout's still not here yet so eventually you climb out of his lap and Raihan begins looking at his phone as the TV plays in the background, and you grab your laptop off the side table until he spots the box of The Patrats game and picks it up.
"What's this?"
"The Patrats; it's a really popular game."
"What do you do in it?"
"It's a life simulation strategy game; you create a Patrat and make it do whatever you want."
"Can I try?"
"Sure, go ahead."
You hand him your laptop which he props up in front of him and you slot the disc inside; when it loads, he begins playing around whilst you go through tonight's photos on Rotom. Before your group split up, you had taken a selfie with Raihan, a selfie with Leon, a selfie with Raihan and Leon, and finally, a group photo with Rose, Oleana and the gym leaders. What a night to remember.
You take some time to inspect each and every photo before you fondly gaze at your photo with Raihan. This would be the first photo you've taken with him. It's a great photo, but perhaps using a few filters wouldn't hurt... You're about to go into your photo-editing app until you realise Raihan's gone pretty quiet. You've left him to his own devices for a while so you quickly turn to him.
"How are you getting on?" You ask, and Raihan's eyes are glued to the screen and you glance at your laptop as well - he's still playing the game and it's then you notice something's not right. "What are you doing?"
Raihan chuckles and grins widely at you, pointing at a random patrat that's running on a treadmill on the screen. "Look."
You stare as he cancels the command to go to the fridge to ‘make protein shake’; it's his Patrat which he's named  'Raihan'....and he has moved it into your neighbourhood and most specifically, he's moved it into your home. Somehow your Patrat's husband is gone and so are her ten pups - Raihan's gotten rid of them, kicked them out somehow - and now he makes his patrat interact with yours (your patrat is busy painting upstairs in her room). You watch as Raihan clicks on a command to 'flirt' and soon his patrat is busy courting yours with a variety of ‘kiss claws’ and ‘nuzzle noses’ commands before the meter fills up and they hastily jump into the burrow together and fireworks start shooting out.
You turn to Raihan with a frown whilst he laughs and grins at the interaction, "Stop making them WooHoo. There's more to the game than that." You peel the laptop out of his hands, deciding to take it away from him. You let the patrats finish woohoo-ing and they settle into deep sleep. The game proceeds to fast forward so you take this time to look around the house. "What happened to the pups?"
"They turned into Pidoves and flew away."
"What!" You exclaim, before you check out the rest of your patrat's details. "What happened to her job?? She was a CEO."
"She decided to work in a daycare."
"No, she didn't. She couldn't have." You shoot a warning look at Raihan but he merely chuckles louder and scoops an arm around you. You close the game before further mayhem can ensue and then the doorbell rings.
It should be the takeout. You're about to leave bed but Raihan says he'll get the door - and he pulls on some clothes before he gets off the sofa and heads over to the door, opening it to reveal the deliveryman on your doorstep, holding three bags in hands. Raihan greets him cheerfully, pays for the delivery and shuts the door.
Instead of going to the dining room to eat, you settle all the dishes on the sofa bed. Raihan has treated you to the Malamar-inspired squid'n fish curry, exotic Alola sushi rolls, beer battered finneon fish fingers and chips with gravy sauce, the Crawdaunt lobster fettuccine and the free appetiser, garlic prawn and avocado crostini. He's gone all out, ordering some of the most expensive or most popular dishes on the menu for you. You're surprised that Raihan makes an exception when it comes to dining with you because you were worried that the food wouldn't be healthy.
And after the late dinner, it's time to finally retire for the night. You both take a shower together and return to the sofa bed to sleep. You've always been alone in your little cottage house so it's nice to have someone here with you.
Under the covers, Raihan spoons you from behind, snuggling you affectionately and you drift off to sleep.
...
Later.
Raihan wakes up when he feels something wet on his hand; it's Espeon, and she stops licking his fingers to purr affectionately at him. He chuckles and strokes the top of her head before turning to the side where his girlfriend is - only to realise she's missing from the bed. He sits up at once and calls her name. There's no response. Espeon meows loudly and jumps on top of the blanket and she's shortly followed by Drifloon who floats over.
"Where'd she go?" He murmurs, and Drifloon points a stringy hand towards the direction of the kitchen.
Peeling the covers off himself, Raihan swings his legs round and gets off the bed to stand, stretching. Espeon and Drifloon follow him into the kitchen where he sees the cupboard of the kitchen sink is open, and she's sleeping inside, huddled up and curled into a ball. The way how she is sitting looks rather uncomfortable, with her legs tucked to her chest and the side of her head pressed against her knees. Despite all this, everything she does reminds him of a cute little Skitty. Now he understands why her Espeon and Drifloon had woken him up; they stop at her side and Espeon paws at her head but she doesn't stir. Drifloon tries to tug at her arm as well, but to no avail.
Raihan heads over; the Pokemon inch backwards to let him through and he squats down to her level, reaching for her and pulling her out of the cupboard and into his arms.
She finally wakes up, opening her eyes groggily. "...Huh? What..."
"Hey..." He sits cross-legged on her kitchen floor where it's terribly cold, "You okay?”
She looks up and around in the darkness, blinking in confusion before her gaze lands on him. "Oh...I...." Rubbing her head and neck, she groans, "Shit. You're not....Rai, you weren't supposed to see....I....I mean, this is...."
He chuckles as she exhales in frustration. She's too tired to move and remains slumped against his chest whilst he bundles her up, rubbing her arms, "It's okay..."
She shakes her head. “No, it’s not... you’ll think I’m weird and messed up...”
"No. You already told me about this," He murmurs as he peers down at her, “The DVD, remember?”
She hesitates before throwing her despondent gaze to her lap.
"It's okay." Raihan whispers in her ear, trying to soothe her, "...It’s okay. C'mon, let's go back to bed."
A brief silence follows; eventually, she nods and Raihan lifts her up, carrying her back to the lounge. She wraps her arms around him in response, burying her face into his neck. Espeon and Drifloon follow them and Raihan settles her over the bed before he slips in beside her, wrapping an arm around her shoulder and pulling her into his chest. He brushes her hair and tucks it behind her ear, then holds her hand and threads their fingers together where occasionally he'll press a kiss over her knuckles. Meanwhile, Drifloon tugs and pulls the covers over them; Raihan thanks him whilst Espeon jumps onto the bed and curls up near their feet.
"Rai?"
"...Yeah?" He fights back a yawn, but he's becoming sleepy already.
"...I saw something back at the energy plant: Giratina." She murmurs tiredly, "I was in this weird place....everything was upside down or backwards...and I looked up and it was there. It saw me and came over...and I looked into its eyes..."
He gives her a squeeze, encouraging her to continue.
"I don't know what happened but since then...It's weird...it's like...the small things that used to be bother me, I'm no longer scared or.... I don't care."
"Is that a good or bad thing?"
"I don't really know..." She grows silent, her sentence trailing and he quickly peers over. Her eyes are closed and she's breathing gently but quietly. Raihan returns to snuggle her, and they're about to drift off to sleep until her Rotom sounds off, indicating a message. Either way, she's forgotten to mute or switch off her phone for the night. She stirs again with a groan, having been disturbed.
He feels her shift slightly in his grip, reaching for Rotom; once she grabs her phone, she swipes the screen and scans the message wordlessly.
"Who is it?" He asks, exhausted.
"It's Allister. The police told him that my boss' son...the cause of death was not natural," She slowly lowers her phone, turning round to lie on her side facing him. "...My boss' son was murdered....and whoever killed him could be still out there."
Meanwhile, somewhere in Galar.
A man pulls up to his driveway, carrying a bag of groceries as he gets out of his car. Usually at this hour, everyone's at home and snug in their bed, warm and cosy, but he likes shopping at this time when there's not many people and it's quieter.
He heads over to his front door and unlocks it, entering the living room. Checking his phone quickly, he sees a social media page he follows has posted up news about the body of a six year old boy being discovered deep in the Glimwood Tangle.
"Well I'll be..." He mutters.
Meanwhile, another social page he pulls up shows a photo of a missing child. He moves to the kitchen, switching on the lights and he can see his neighbours outside in their backyard, enjoying a late night barbecue. They wave at him from their seats around the fire and he smiles and waves in response, then he draws the blinds shut. There's a door to his left with five locks which he proceeds to unlock as silently as possible.
Opening it, a thin stream of light floods in, revealing a staircase that leads to a basement.
Most houses in Galar don't have a basement, but his does.
And the basement is reminiscent of a bedroom, the walls covered in crayon drawings. A little boy sleeps soundly on a bed in the corner; he looks no older than five.
The man goes down the stairs, treading on each step quietly and approaches the bed. The boy's leg has slipped out; a shackle is looped around his ankle, attached to a long chain that is fixed to the wall. The man tucks the boy's leg under the covers and smiles.
"Goodnight, sleep tight," He whispers, "Sweet dreams, till morning light."

#raihansprincess, PART II
...
...
It takes a while to leave the Glimwood Tangle because the Shiinotic had taken your brother deep within the depths of the forest, but once you find the exit, you see Opal seated down on a toadstool with a Drifloon and a Galarian Ponyta which you believe is Sugarplum, Glenn's remaining missing pokemon. Once she spots your group emerging, you head over to her side at once and Glenn happily reunites with Sugar. Drifloon floats over to you and you're surprised to see he has left the house but it looks like he wanted to make sure you were okay. Opal informs you that they didn't get very far because her hip was acting up and later they came across a lost Leon who had separated from Allister. Sonia then went with Leon and Opal returned to the entrance, and now the duo are somewhere inside the forest.
However, Sonia's phone is faring better than the rest of you lot because she's been able to send messages and photos to Opal, detailing the progress of their investigation. They've discovered the source of the mysterious white light - it's coming from mushrooms that had been dug up. Previously, and they were supposed to be glowing a bright, neon-red hue and now they've lost their colour and the Pokemon who lived in these mushrooms now have nowhere to go. These dying mushrooms have been found in large quantities all over the forest.
"It must be that douchebag." Glenn says, frowning somewhat. You have an inkling that Glenn is talking about the guy you and Raihan met earlier. Glenn adds, "I think his name started with an 'E'."
"Eli, perhaps?" Raihan utters, and Glenn nods wildly. "You mentioned he was digging up wishing stars?"
"Yeah."
You and Raihan exchange glances whilst Opal sighs under her breath. "I can speak to Chairman Rose about this. Don't you worry about a thing, my dears." She assures you. "I'll wait here for Leon and Sonia, too."
"...Me too." Allister mutters. "....I guess this is goodbye."
"Thanks for your help, Allister." Raihan says, grinning.
"....Thanks for allowing me to go with you." The gym leader replies shyly, throwing his glance to the ground.
"No problem."
Turning to Phantump, you see him staring intently at the gym leader so you smile and Phantump trills loudly. "Would you like to stay with Allister?" And Phantump nods and floats towards the boy who gazes at it intently, before he looks up at you. "Allister, do you mind looking after Phantump for me?"
He blinks. "....Huh?"
"I think Phantump would be happier if he stayed with you, so....please look after him."
Allister nods. "Okay."
"Thank you."
"......You're welcome."
Phantump returns to you and gently pecks you on the cheek; you can feel the roughness of the wood rubbing against your skin and you hug him tightly whilst he clings to you. In fact, tears begin forming in your eyes when Phantump floats over to Allister and settles on top of his head. "Take care, Phantump. Don't worry, we'll find your family, and we'll find out what happened to you."
Allister nods in agreement. "....I'll do everything I can."
"Thanks, Allister."
”Wait....Your Drifloon has something to say to you.”
”What?”
”It wants to say... ‘I’m sorry’.”
”Huh?” Turning to the balloon Pokemon, you say, “Aww, it’s okay, Driffie.”
With that, you leave Phantump under the care of the Stow-on-Side gym leader; it's great that Allister understands ghost pokemon and no doubt, he will look after Phantump with utmost care. After saying further farewells, Allister takes a seat beside Opal and Drifloon and Phantump exchange a few trills and wheezes and you believe they’re having a conversation.
Once that’s done, you leave with Raihan, Glenn and Drifloon. You throw a few concerned glances over your shoulder now and then. The entire time, Phantump waves. He is watching you, a little sadly, and you wonder if you'd done the right thing.
"Cheer up, sis." Glenn says, "You can always visit the little guy and he can always return to you whenever he wants."
You nod. "...I know."
"I'm sorry about the pokemon battle. I can only remember parts of it and the rest of it is hazy. It was seriously the most trippy thing ever though - it was like I was kinda conscious and dreaming at the same time. So strange...but Shiinotic didn't mean to harm anyone, it was scared."
You sigh audibly under your breath. "I'm just glad you're okay."
"Yep, me too. Well, it's been grand, but I should really head to Johto now. Mum must be worried to death about me."
"Aren't you tired? We could tell mum you're fine and you could stay for the rest of the night."
"Nah, it's okay, I've been gone for too long and I'm not tired either; I should go asap."
"What about your pokemon?"
"We're good, don't worry about us."
"Oh, alright."
Glenn turns his attention to Raihan next. "Hey Raihan, I got a lot of questions, like how you met my sis and stuff - but I know she's in good hands. So, please look after her in my absence."
"I will." Raihan replies, grinning.
"Good man." Glenn says, patting the gym leader on the shoulder. Your brother is not as tall as Raihan; it's kind of comedic seeing him trying to reach him properly. On the other hand, you're also extremely glad that Glenn has taken a liking to Raihan so quickly.
"Perhaps we'll battle one day." Raihan suggests, and Glenn nods. "Before you go, mind if we take a selfie?"
"Sure!" Glenn exclaims, and your brother takes a quick snapshot with the dragon tamer. You're relieved to see that your brother and Raihan are getting along.
"And here's my League card." Raihan adds, digging into his pockets and brandishing a small card which Glenn accepts.
"Interesting pose." Your brother comments as he places it into his bag carefully.
"Ah, yeah."
"Well, I'm off!" Glenn yells; you watch somewhat despondently as Rotom, with what little strength he has left, calls the Corviknight taxi for your brother and when it arrives, you say your goodbyes again and he's gone.
It's just you and Raihan. What now?
Much to your embarrassment, your stomach grumbles ferociously and you're pretty sure Raihan heard. Ah yeah, you never had your lunch... Clutching your tummy, Raihan chuckles and says, "Wanna grab something to eat?"
You nod. "Can we order takeout?"
"Sure. What do you wanna eat?"
"Hmm..."
In the end, you decide to order takeout from Bob's Your Uncle; you've not had a Bob's Burger for a while so upon accessing their website, you check out the menu and you both agree to buy something to share considering their portion sizes can be pretty big. With the order placed, you go to the pokemon centre to heal your pokemon team first.
Inside, Drifloon clings to you as Nurse Joy heals up your pokemon whilst Raihan attracts some unnecessary attention - you watch as he's quickly surrounded by a bunch of young women and you can't help but feel slightly out of place as he smiles and waves at them all and then looks at your direction and your gazes meet. You can only give him an awkward smile in return and a thumbs up; as he dishes out autographs and takes pictures with the fans, you head over to the PC and deposit Whimsicott, Starmie and Togekiss into a box, then look at the icons of your Haxorus and Salamence. To reduce the number of dragon Pokemon in your team, you were reluctant to use them in battle but you believe it's time to take them out now. Adding them to your party, you wonder if Raihan has an Axew or Bagon yet. It would be a nice surprise...
When you're finished, Raihan also departs from his fans. They all stare when Raihan makes his way towards you and you know they're wondering who you are and who you might be to the dragon tamer - you're too afraid to hold Raihan's hand or do anything else with him in public so you quickly leave with him by your side. What is this feeling? It's so strange...
Once you're home, your house pokemon greet you and Raihan spots Goomy and Dreepy; he greets them happily and you can't help but smile. Meanwhile, Drifloon floats off to the window, obviously upset with Phantump’s departure. You hope he will cheer up soon.
According to the app, your takeout will arrive in half an hour and this is Raihan's second time in your house albeit he has more time to look around your home; however, you and Raihan also have some time to finally be alone together. You get the idea he's thinking the same because you're in the kitchen fixing some drinks for the both of you when you hear him approaching from behind. Before you can turn round, he slips his arms around your shoulders and pulls you into his chest.
"Hey..." He murmurs, leaning down to nuzzle the side of your head before he begins nipping on the shell of your ear affectionately.
You smile, closing your eyes and placing your hands over his as he kisses your temple. "What's up?"
"How’re you feeling?"
"I'm okay." You mutter; when he stops kissing you, you manage to turn to face him and your eyes meet. "It's been a crazy day."
"It's never a dull moment with you." He utters; you briefly recall yourself thinking the same a while ago.
"Yeah, gotta admit...we've had quite a lot of adventures recently." You add, and Raihan chuckles. "Thanks for being there for me."
He grins. "Anything for you, princess." Leaning forwards, he pecks you on the lips briefly and when you break apart, your gazes linger before he closes the gap between you once more and your lips meet. You let out a soft moan from the back of your throat as he steals your breath away and he releases you so you can face him properly; Raihan scoops you in his arms and lifts you up to sit on one of your kitchen counters.
With your adjusted height, you cup his jaw as he leans forwards again, your lips pressing together gently. Your eyelids flutter to a close as you relish the feel of his mouth over yours, kissing you heatedly. He ensures every inch of your lips are pressed and nibbled on, which makes you giggle when you both break apart for some air; your eyes meet for a split second before he swoops on you again - you slip your arms around his neck and moan helplessly against him, melting thoroughly into his embrace as he ravishes you with his mouth.
He holds you tight with his arms wrapped around you securely, your chest firmly pressed against his. “Bedroom?” He suggests.
”Bedroom.” You reply, nodding.
...
A week later.
It's been a while since Raihan has been summoned to see the Chairman at Rose Tower; it's normally not for a good reason, that's for sure. Raihan exits the elevator and he passes a few Macro Cosmos employees who greet him politely. He greets them back with a smile as he jovially makes his way over, passing some Magnezone and Durants with their trainers. Once he's at Rose's penthouse, the door whooshes open for him and he sees Rose standing at the floor-to-ceiling window, looking outside whilst Oleana bows her head.
"Good afternoon, Mr Raihan. Thank you for coming, would you like a drink?" Oleana enquires, holding up a bottle of red wine in her arms.
"No thanks, Oleana."
"Very well." The secretary mutters as she returns the wine bottle over the table, her expression blank yet stoic, "Please, have a seat."
She gestures to the large, black leather sofa beside Rose's desk and he plops himself down; Rose's penthouse is beautiful with modern furnishings and top-notch interior design. Before he can marvel his surroundings any longer however, the Chairman turns round abruptly and begins strolling towards them. "Hello, Raihan."
"Hey, Chairman Rose."
"Do you know why I've asked to see you today?"
"Nope."
"Here, take a look at this." Chairman Rose mutters, taking the seat opposite him and reaching for the wine bottle and empty glass on the coffee table in front of them; he promptly pours himself a glass. "Oleana, show him."
"Yes, sir." Oleana wordlessly strides over to the gym leader and hands Raihan her tablet before returning to Rose's side, hands clasped together as she stands. Raihan looks at the screen where a website called 'THE GROOKEY TRUTH' shows several articles ranging from 'Watch now: Hiker's Escape Rope Epic Fail' and 'Is the World Coming to an End?' to an article that says:
"Dating rumours of Hammerlocke's beloved gym leader has been circulating online once more. The rumours began when a photo uploaded by the Chatot Daily Times that showed the dragon tamer with an unidentified female was quickly and quietly taken down. Fans have quickly come to address this mysterious girl as ‘Raihan’s princess’. Just recently, another photo of Raihan with the same girl has been uploaded on Froakit, the front page of the internet.
While some fans have shown willingness to be supportive if the rumours turn out to be true, other fans have been angry and are demanding an explanation. The netizen who uploaded the photo claimed that the duo looked quite close. T he dragon tamer has recently suffered a string of losses to gym challengers hence fans are concerned that he is taking his responsibilities less seriously due to the distraction."
"This article was published this morning. It really isn't my business who you're dating, Raihan," Rose mutters, swirling the wine inside his glass gently using his hand, "But this isn’t the first time and you need to understand that you're endorsed by the League and through your contract with us, you've received many sponsorships. Therefore, anything negative that could harm your reputation could affect us all too. I don't know how else to put this but...I'll use Leon as a prime example here; as Champion, he cannot afford to let anyone down. He has a wonderful, altruistic personality and most importantly, a sense of responsibility. He has many fans - young, old, male, female - and he's very aware of how he should act in public and how others would perceive him so he's very careful, even if it means he has to grin and bear with the crippling pressure that he faces everyday. So we've decided - to avoid backlash, we're going to deny these rumours and mention that we'll take legal action against those who spread false misinformation."
"Wait." Raihan glances at the tablet again, then gazes at Rose, "No, I can deal with this. I want to confirm the rumours."
...
Meanwhile.
In the department store, you look at the price tags of the sets in your hands and ponder to yourself; hm, which one would Raihan prefer? In one hand, you're holding a lacy red bra and panty set and the other is a sleek, satin black. They're both the same price. You cannot decide which one to buy for the life of you so you dump both into your basket and move on, until a white bra set catches your eye and you grab that too, just in case.
Here you are, buying sexy lingerie to wear for the next time you and Raihan are in bed. You can't help but blush as you contemplate that to yourself, clutching your basket tightly in hand. Now that you're with Raihan, things have become more exciting and fulfilling than ever before: you also want to focus on yourself so you've decided to do some shopping in Wyndon. Along the way, you want to buy Raihan a nice gift so you get him a poketoy bundle that is exclusive for dragon pokemon. It's been a while since you went shopping - especially for yourself - but recently you really want to spoil yourself so you've also purchased a half-day spa package. Pricey as hell, but hopefully worth it when you come out of it as a completely refreshed woman (or so you hope).
You've asked your friend to go and she mentions to you that she can make herself free as long as you tell her what day you want to in advance, so you both spent oodles of time going over the calendar and when you agree on a date, you book the package and she requests a day off work. You're meeting her in the cafe before you hit the spa so that's when you'll break the news to her - you will tell her that you're seeing Raihan and you will also ask her if she wants to go on a date with Leon. You wonder how she'll react. After you buy your lingerie and stuff it into an eco-friendly bag, you make your way to the cafe where you see her waiting for you in the corner.
"Hey." She waves for you and you grin and head over.
"Hey! I'm so glad you're here; I feel like I haven't seen you forever!" You gush.
"I know.”
"I miss you so much!”
"Me too!" She exclaims. You both exchange a hug; you feel she's in a better mood compared to the last time you saw her as she grabs her purse, ready to leave her seat. "So, what do you wanna drink?"
"I'll treat you."
"But you treated me last time."
"It's fine, it's on me. What do you want? Black coffee, no sugar?"
"Ehh, I actually kinda want their Milcery mint mocha for a change. They have millefeuille today too."
"Right, got it." You put down your bags and head to the counter where you order the drinks and your food. The cafe is slightly busy today but fortunately the wait is not too long. Once it's ready, you grab the tray with the hot drinks - you got the mocha and fluffy layered cake, and you've ordered an affogato and Swirlix tiramisu - and because you want to spoil yourself, you buy a red velvet cupcake too - and you return to the table, balancing the full tray in your hands.
"Mm, looks yummy." She says, "Thanks."
"No problem. Thanks for being able to come out today." You help her lift the mocha off the tray and nudge it near her side on the table whilst you do the same for your drink and cake.
She sighs, grabbing the napkin and unfolding it. "I need a break, so all good."
"How's work?"
"Shite," She moans, "It's absolute shite."
You purse your lips. "Is it not getting better?"
"It's not really getting better or anything, but I just feel like my soul is slowly being sucked out of my body."
"You're doing something you don't enjoy, that's why."
"Yeah, I think so too. Even though the pay's good and so is the commission.... that's the only good thing about it, I guess."
"Have you thought about what you want to do?"
Your friend looks glumly at her cup as she holds it in her hands. "Not really. Never mind, let's not talk about work anymore. I can't wait for the spa."
"Same. Did you look at the spa menu?"
"Yeah, and I looked at the reviews. It's a pretty high-end place."
"I wanted to go for the best." You reply; you both taste your coffee and discover that it's really good. "Oh yeah, I need to tell you something. Well, more like ask."
"What?"
"....Do you wanna... go on a date with the Champion of Galar, Leon?"
Your friend looks at you blankly for a few seconds, before she goes, "Wut?"
"I was going to work one day and I saw Opal outside - she's the gym leader of Ballonlea - and she asked if I knew anyone who was single; she wants to set Leon with someone, and I thought about you."
Your friend's eyes widen at once before she splutters, "Wait, WHAT?"
"But only if you want to."
She looks visibly nervous, fidgeting in her seat. "What the...where is...where is this coming from? Why? This is so random!!!"
"I know, I know, and I'm sorry for not telling you earlier, but I think he's a great guy."
"Well, why didn't she ask you?"
"She did, but I - " You pause somewhat, before you utter out, "I'm seeing someone already: Raihan."
Her eyes bulge once more. "WHAT?" Leaning forwards in her chair, she grabs your hand. "Oh my Shaymin, what! You are? Wait, I knew it! You know Raihan posted up a selfie of himself with your brother the other day, right??? I was like when did Raihan meet your brother??? When did this happen?? When were you going to tell me this???" She exclaims; she sounds happy for you, which makes you feel better inwardly considering you weren't sure how she would react.
"Well...We just started going out."
She stuffs her knuckles into the mouth, and emits a squeal with glee. "That is so cute! I'm so happy for you!"
"Thanks..." You leave your sentence trailing, chuckling. "So...do you wanna go on a date with Leon? I know you have a thing for men with long hair - or was it men in tights?"
Your friend clams up again and you're pretty sure you see her cheeks going slightly pink. You recall that your friend attempted to become Champion a long time ago and gave up after losing several times. Leon is champion and has been since the tender age of ten...so, you suppose there's somekind of common ground there but you don't want to mention this to her, of course. Wait! What if being around Leon makes your friend think about her forgotten, destroyed childhood dreams???! Or maybe you're thinking too much now? You quickly bat those thoughts away and say with a smile, "He's a really friendly guy, I'm sure you guys will get along."
"...What if he's not interested? What if he doesn't like me?"
"He won’t." You reply; however, she drops her smile, looking visibly troubled. Maybe you shouldn't have mentioned this to her...
However, much to your surprise, she nods. "Okay, I guess there's no harm, and it's always good to meet more people."
"Exactly! I'll tell Opal the good news." You add, before you quickly type a message to the gym leader.
Once you finish messaging Opal, you continue catching up. There’s a lot to share - you tell her that Raihan had a crazed stalker, you went camping with him, he gave you a Goomy and a Dreepy, he helped catch a Galarian Ponyta which you gave to your brother. Speaking about Glenn, you tell her that he went missing in the woods near your home and you had to battle him because he got mind-controlled by a Shiinotic but you lost and Raihan paid; the prize money was a lot, almost equivalent to the price of a vitamin. Then you also found Phantump’s dead body and now he’s with Allister.
”Bloody hell.” Your friend says, in response to all this.
You even tell her that Raihan keeps calling you princess.
”Well, from what you’ve told me, he certainly treats you like one.”
She has a good point, although the pet name has stuck since that online article was released.
The coffee's really good, so you and your friend end up ordering two more each along with some more cake and then depart to the spa. With three coffees in your system and a whole lot of sugar, you're pretty jittery inside. After you finish up in the spa, it's getting late and you both leave the establishment feeling relaxed and refreshed and in an elevated mood. You had opted for a full, relaxing seaweed bath, facial and body massage and now your neck, shoulders, back and arms feels rid of many cricks and stiff joints and your skin is super smooth and shiny.
"That foot massage really hit the spot." Your friend comments, "That Mr. Mime is good with his hands - " Pause. "Fuck, that sounded so wrong! You get what I meant though, right???"
You snort with laughter as she squawks helplessly. "Yeah."
She curses loudly anyway, before she opens her phone to check any messages; her eyes widen and she turns to you. "Um, I think you should see this."
"What is it?"
"Look." She hands you her phone and you see that she's brought up Raihan's social media page. You can see the selfie he took with your brother which he ended up posting onto his account along with a new post; selecting it, you see that the post is a massive wall of text and there's more than a thousand comments on it. Your friend says, "He's confirming that he's dating. Aww, look at what he's written. It's so sweet."
You wonder what's triggered this but when you read his post, he doesn't disclose your name or any other information about you, other than his girlfriend is really important to him, he enjoys spending his free time with her and he really cares about her. You feel your heart thudding harder, your cheeks warming. He also mentions that it won't stop him from training or working harder as Hammerlocke gym leader - in fact, it's inspired him to work harder - so his fans shouldn't be worried.
You sigh under your breath as you hand her the phone. "Sorry, I think I should head back now."
"That's okay." Your friend says with a smile. "I had fun today. Let's hang out again soon."
"Sure. Maybe next time we could go on a double date or something." You reply, and she laughs. “Tell me how the date goes.”
”Yeah, yeah, okay.”
You both split up - she makes her way to the train station and you scoop out your phone. You should go see him.  You quickly call him and you wonder if he'll be able to pick up but then -
"Hey, princess." He sounds cheerful as always.
"Hey, are you okay?"
"Yeah."
"Where are you right now?"
"At the stadium."
"I'll come over."
"Okay."
After you hang up, you call the taxi to take you to Hammerlocke.
...
Raihan waits for his girlfriend.
There hasn't been any scheduled matches today which was a nice change of pace, but it doesn't mean he gets to slack off. His entire day was full of training with his pokemon; he's been devising various battle strategies and tactics so next time, a victory will be guaranteed. He's been so absorbed with work that he hasn't even looked at his phone much and it’s getting hot, so he sits cross-legged in the middle of the pitch with a pen and notebook in hand. He removes his hoodie and sweatband, leaving them folded on the soft grass by his side.
He wonders when she'll get here when suddenly someone pounces on his back and a pair of arms wrap around him; she kisses him on the cheek and nuzzles his neck and he chuckles. "Hey."
"Hey." She says, before she gives him a tight, affectionate squeeze and nibbles the shell of his ear.
"Are you okay?"
"Yep!! I had three coffees, that's all."
In that case, she should have coffee more often.
"C'mere." Raihan tries to be careful with her - he peels her off his back and into his arms, bringing her into his lap where he aggressively attacks her neck and face with kisses and playfully nips at her skin. She giggles, clinging onto him as he ravages her. Pulling away for a split second, he leans forwards again to take a whiff of her hair. "Mm. You smell good."
"I went to the spa with my friend today..." His girlfriend wriggles in his grip to sit up and he keeps her perched in his lap; cupping her face, he takes one good look at her - cute as always, yep, and this time, she is positively glowing... the spa has done her some good; throwing his glance to the side, he also notices the numerous shopping bags she's brought with her. "I got you something."
He lets go of her as she reaches over and accidentally knocks over a bag where he can see this red lacy bra inside.
"Whoa! You weren't supposed to see that! Not yet anyway..." She exclaims and he chuckles; she quickly seizes it and moves it behind another bag and away from his eyes, but he's seen it all already. She grabs another bag, fishes out a rather large bundle from inside which she hands to him. It's a poketoy set specifically for an assortment of pokemon types ranging from dragon to ground.
Grinning, he says, "Thanks," and promptly opens it, lifting out a feathery toy which he uses to tickle her nose with. She scrunches up her face in response and he laughs at her expression.
"It's also got this incense that relaxes dragon-type pokemon." She explains, rubbing at her nose.
"It's great, I'm sure the guys will love it." He murmurs, before he puts the toy down, slides his arms around her waist as she sits up properly, glancing around again before she spots his hoodie and puts it on. It's so huge on her tiny frame that she completely disappears inside it and the sleeves are so long, they dangle off her arms; Raihan watches her silently; she's never worn his clothes before and he has to admit, it's a bit hot. To complete the outfit, he takes his headband that he's left lying over the grass and carefully eases it over her head. It's obviously too big for her; it keeps dropping over her eyes.
She pushes the headband up over her forehead and holds it there. "I saw the post," She says next, voice laced with concern, "What happened?"
He shrugs casually as he reaches for her free hand, pulling the sleeve of his hoodie up to reveal her fingers; he carefully slides his thumb into the base of her tiny palm and rubs her thoroughly; she watches him tentatively before she closes her fingers over his hand in return and holds his hand gently in hers. He says, "There were rumours going round saying I was dating; fans were worried that I was getting distracted and not taking my responsibilities seriously enough."
"Am I?" She asks, "...Am I distracting you?"
He cracks a grin, chuckling as she opens his hand and begins using her fingertip to trace the lines in his large palm. Her hand is so small and fragile compared to his but her fingertips are quite rough. She's used to hard work. "Nope." He mutters, scooping her fingers with his and rubbing them with his thumb.
"I'm sorry that happened, you don't deserve it."
"S'okay."
"I saw the comments too, a lot of them weren't nice."
He shrugs when she mentions his haters. "I'm used to it." Using his other hand, he pats her affectionately on the head, smoothing her hair down and stroking the side of her cheek, "Don't worry about me. It'll take more than that to get me down."
She pouts, but then smiles. "Okay, that's good. I’m glad. If it ever gets too much, we could always go somewhere else - maybe to Johto or Hoenn. I heard people have their own secret bases there."
"I could ask Kabu."
"Great."
”...Rose wanted to deny the rumours. I didn’t want that. It’s not fair on you.” He replies and she brings his hand to her chest, clutching him tightly. ”It’ll be okay. You don’t need to be a part in any of this.” He knows she enjoys her privacy, so he won’t ask her to be in any videos or photos.
“It’s not like it’s a big secret anyway - your cheerleaders know we’re together. And I think it's the other way round. I mean, you distract me a lot when I'm at work - I'm always thinking about you."
Raihan hesitates, raises a brow, before he grins once more and lets go of her hand to encircle his arms around her waist, pulling her even closer. She's being very bold today - first, she took him by surprise and also took the initiative; second, she clearly bought some sexy lingerie for the next time they would be in bed together, and now she is saying this. She delivers it in such a straightforward, blunt manner, he's not quite sure if he heard her properly but he did. He feels he should reward her so he leans in close, their noses touching.
"...Is that so?" He mutters, with his lips mere millimetres from hers. He slides one hand down from her waist to her ass, caressing her, and she blushes.
"Mm-hm, I'm always thinking about the stuff you do to me when we're together."
"Such as?"
She pulls his headband away from her eyes, lets go of his shoulders to cup his face, stroking the sturdy outline of his jaw and cheek with her thumb and their gazes meet. She tilts her head to the side and he leans in further, finally getting the chance to press his lips against hers. He gently massages her mouth with his, holding her tightly in his arms and pulling her firmly against him whilst she drapes her arms around his neck.
When they pull away, she smiles and says, "I'll leave that to your imagination."

Heavy Heart, Heavy Soul: Chapter Eleven
————————
Raihan sighed as he headed down to the lobby of the building. He was definitely going to miss his job as a Gym Leader, but if this is what it took to make Piers be happy, then so be it. Now that he had done everything that Piers had supposedly told him to do, he could go be happy with Piers, right? By the time he got to the lobby, he noticed he had gotten a text from Piers. He opened the text message app, reading the text. >>’Ey Rai, I’m waitin’ fer ya at yer house on the doorstep. Or do ya just want me ta let myself into the house since I still ‘ave that spare key ya gave me a while ago?<< For now, Piers was just planning on going along with it and making it seem like he had been the one to send the texts, even though he felt incredibly guilty about having not noticed what was going on sooner with his account being hacked. Of course, it certainly surprised Raihan that Piers was already at the doorstep of his house, waiting for him, so, knowing it’d take him a while to get home to Hammerlocke, he sent a response text to Piers. >>You can go ahead and let yourself into the house, my beautiful Rockstar. I wouldn’t want you to have to just be kept waiting on the doorstep for me, now would I? Feel free to make yourself feel at home. It’ll take me a bit to get back home.<< After having sent the text, Raihan went outside of the building, taking his Flygon back out and had his Flygon begin to take him back to Hammerlocke.
Piers sighed softly as he stood up, grabbing his small ring of keys out of his jacket pocket. The keys belonged to all sorts of things, some of which Piers didn’t even remember what they were for. He looked through the keyring for the spare key to Raihan’s front door, finding it soon enough. Though, when he went to unlock the front door, he was confused when he saw it was already unlocked. “Huh?... That’s odd... Rai usually never leaves the front door unlocked ‘less he’s home...” Piers however, just shrugged it off as maybe Raihan having forgotten to lock the front door before he had left. Piers opened the door, walking into the house and closed the door behind him, glancing around. Everything appeared to be in the same place that it usually was, so, it’s not like it seemed like anyone had broken into the house. But just to be sure, Piers decided to do Raihan a favor by checking around the house to ensure everything was ok. First and foremost, he checked the main floor of the house. At first, nothing seemed too out of the ordinary, but as he approached the kitchen / hallway area of the house, he began to feel a bit of that unnerving feeling of being watched. Which of course, the fact he felt like someone was watching him was certainly likely not a good sign of anything. He cautiously made his way over to the couch in the living room, sitting down on the couch and taking his phone out to text Raihan.
>>Hey Rai? Did ya know that ya left yer front door unlocked?...<< Of course, there was no response from Raihan. He was focused on getting back to Hammerlocke safely, so, he likely wouldn’t be checking his phone for messages until he safely got back to the ground in Hammerlocke. When Piers received no response, Piers let out a soft sigh, thinking that maybe that feeling of being watched was just his imagination. Yeah, that had to be it. It’s not like someone was in the house, watching him and watching his overall every move, right? Piers just chuckled a bit to himself, dismissing it as nothing more than his imagination playing mere tricks on him. He sighed a bit as he just laid on the couch for now, deciding to try to take a short nap while he waited, knowing it’d be a while before Raihan would get back home. He gently closed his eyes, relaxing and soon falling asleep. And of course, Leon just so happened to have snuck into the house before Piers had gotten here. He crept out of his hiding place silently, glaring at Piers. If Piers was still together with Raihan, he just had to find another way to sabotage Piers and Raihan’s relationship. And surely, that wouldn’t be too overwhelmingly difficult. He just had to find a different approach to this.
Even if Leon fails to make Raihan and Piers break up altogether, that doesn’t mean he can’t make their life an absolute living hell. Leon has no intentions of giving up anytime soon. He didn’t even know why he exactly was doing this. Maybe it was out of jealousy that Raihan and Piers had each other while Leon had no one. Maybe he was just way too overprotective of Raihan and thought Raihan deserved someone much better than Piers. Or maybe he just couldn’t stand the idea of Raihan or Piers dating anyone. Who knows? But one thing’s for sure. Leon WILL ensure that Raihan and Piers don’t stay together; even if it’s the last thing he does. He won’t give up; he just can’t. But this... This was only the beginning of Leon trying to break them up...and the beginning Leon making their life slowly become a living hell, possibly with the help of someone else... But one thing’s for certain... He will Pay. And that person referred to as he, won’t be Leon either.

Silver Dreaming (3/6)
Do Not Disturb shuts off automatically at six in the morning. Raihan regrets this when he’s woken by the sound of a million text messages.
There are rules when it comes to messaging. One of those rules is that you don’t text people before nine a.m. unless it’s an emergency. Raihan glances at the notifications and finds nothing urgent about them. He’s not in the mood for this right now.
He leaves his phone on the bed and heads into the hallway. There’s a pot of coffee ready, and the scent fills the air like petrichor.
Nessa probably made it, like usual. She’s the best.
When Raihan arrives in the living room, coffee in hand, he finds Nessa doing her morning stretches as she usually does. Her hair is tied in a loose bun. She’s wearing the t-shirt and sweatpants she’d brought over last night to sleep in. She looks normal, like she’s not a supermodel and gym leader in her day jobs.
(Sonia is nowhere to be seen. She’s probably still asleep. No need to wake her; university doesn’t start again for another two weeks.)
“Wanna join me?” Nessa asks, pushing her legs into a perfect split.
Show off.
“You know I can’t do what you do.”
“You can do something basic. Don’t you stretch before you train?” She looks up at him, her eyes calm and deep. “It might be the last time we get the chance, Rai. Please?”
With a sigh, he gulps the rest of his coffee and sets the mug out of the way. Then he sits across from her and pulls one arm in front of his chest.
One, two, three…
Nessa says, offhandedly, “Milo taught me about thinning the other day.”
“Milo… taught you… about thinning?”
She rolls her eyes. “It’s a gardening thing. When you’ve got a bunch of seedlings together, sometimes you have to uproot some so the others have more space to grow.”
“Ah. So you’re saying that it might be time for a certain golden flower to get uprooted so a certain water lily has space, right?”
“It’s not like that, it’s — I mean…” Sighing, she pulls up one knee and pushes against her leg. “You leaving would really shake up the league. I stayed up last night thinking about it. I’ll be fine, I think. I’m flexible.”
You’ll be more than fine, Raihan thinks. You’ll thrive.
Being flexible her thing, the way weather is his. It’s how she wins battles and how she wins at life. She moves through any situation like water, and his absence won’t make that any different.
He pulls up his leg, copying her pose. One, two, three...
She continues. “I wanted to be Hulbury’s gym leader since I was six years old. I wanted to be a model from the time I was fifteen. I wanted to be close to Sonia and Milo and you since the day I met you all. And I get to have all of that, because I’m flexible.”
“And now you’ll get even more. Congrats, Ness. You’ve earned it.”
She leans forward, stretching her back. “Did I, though?”
Come on, Ness, don’t say it like that.
“Aw, are you having doubts? Come on, it’s supposed to be my identity crisis here.” He says it with a grin, like it’s all a joke. But Nessa isn’t laughing.
“You wanted to be champion when you were a kid, didn’t you? Instead, you ended up a gym leader. You’ve just been treading water for the last ten years. I always knew you’d be heading to a bigger pond someday — to a place where you could really stretch your legs. I would just be taking advantage of that.”
Treading water. A bigger pond.
The league is supposed to be a place where dreams come true, if you’re strong enough, if you’re good enough. Everyone’s dreaming of something as they step in the stadiums.
It’s been a long time since Raihan has really thought about his own dreams.
What does he want? Not as the gym leader of Hammerlocke, not as the potential champion of Alola. Not as Leon’s rival or as Nessa’s friend.
What does he want?
To beat Leon?
To have battles where he can fully show off what his Pokémon can do?
He’d wanted to be Galar’s champion at one point, sure, but his goals aren’t as concrete anymore.
He wants validation. Adoration. Respect.
Will he get that in Alola? Does he honestly get that here?
Nessa leans to the side, almost bent over double. Raihan tries the same. He’s pretty sure he heard his back pop.
One, two, three...
“I think you should go,” she tells him. “Thin out the dandelions. Make some space for the golden flowers to grow like they’re supposed to.”
*
At seven-thirty he can’t pretend to be asleep anymore, so he checks his phone and gets ready for the day.
Piers was right about how quickly the news would spread. On Chattr, the words Hammerlocke and Alola Champion are trending. All his accounts are getting pinged.
It feels like everyone who’s ever had his number has sent something. His mum is mad that she had to find out about this from social media. Gordie and Milo give congratulations. Kabu and Melony ask if he’s really going. The reporters he’s given his number to — the ones he usually depends on to set the narrative he wants — are asking for a comment.
He apologizes to his mum and copy/pastes a “No comment as of now” to the reporters. He’ll reply to everyone else at lunchtime.
A new message pops up. It’s from Camilla.
Angry fans outside the stadium. Disguise?
He’ll take her word for it.
Raihan digs through his closet and brings out The Outfit.
It’s a league staff uniform, complete with a hat and sunglasses. Every gym leader has a couple of these uniforms, specifically tailored for them. Nobody looks twice at a lowly staff member, after all.
Raihan puts it on, tucks his hair under the cap, and slouches a little to hide his height. He puts his usual clothes in a duffel bag.
Passing by Nessa in the living room, he waves goodbye.
*
True to Camilla’s text, there is a crowd outside the gym. They’re chanting something, but he can’t quite make out what it’s supposed to be. He spots a sign reading OUR DRAGON TAMER and another that reads YOU BELONG TO HAMMERLOCKE.
Nobody seems to notice that their dragon master is standing there among them.
Raihan catches the attention of one of the fans, a young teen with an orange bow in her hair.
Making sure his sharp tooth doesn’t show, he asks: “What’s goin’ on?”
“You haven’t heard?” She stares at him with wide eyes. “Raihan got scouted by the Alola league! He’s leaving by the end of the year!”
“Really? That’s news to me. Has he confirmed it himself?”
“Well, no, but it only got leaked last night. Still! He’s leaving! Can you believe it? Like, I don’t have any problems with Alola — I’m half-Alolan, myself, actually — but it’s like, don’t they have any strong trainers there? Why do they have to take our gym leader?”
As much emotional distance Raihan tries to keep between himself and his fandom, there’s something about the sincerity in the girl’s words that makes him pause. He was born and raised in Hammerlocke, after all. He’s its representative, its guardian. The people here have watched him grow; some have even grown beside him. One could say he’s like a brother, almost—
A blond woman gestures passionately in his face.
“Right?” She doesn’t seem to realize (or care?) that she’s interrupting a conversation. “They’ve got to have a hundred good trainers over there, but Leon only has one rival! What are we supposed to do without him?”
He sucks in air through his teeth.
He may be Hammerlocke’s older brother, but his family will always be more enamored with the cool kid from down the street.
“I’m sure you’ll be fine,” he says, and pushes through the crowd toward the gym.
*
He takes his time changing in the locker room.
It would be a lie to say that the fans’ words didn’t bother him. Leon has been part of his life ever since he was a kid; when Raihan does interviews, it’s only a matter of time before he gets a question about him. Their rivalry is a big part of Raihan’s public image, maybe even the biggest part. The weather manipulator, the fashion icon, the selfie-obsessed influencer, the history geek — all are forgotten in favor of the label Leon’s rival.
He loves Leon, but there’s resentment there, too. That resentment came years ago, when Raihan realized that there was nowhere in Galar he could go to get away from Leon’s face.
Alola, on the other hand...
Alola is a warm region. There, they have an endless summer. Even when it rains, the sun is still shining. He’ll be happy there. He will.
Even if he has to leave two of his most trusted partners behind, it would be worth it, right?
It had to be.
Finally, Hammerlocke Gym Leader Raihan emerges in full uniform.
That’s the signal for his gym trainers to acknowledge him, so they do. Sebastian gives him the day’s weather forecast for the Wild Area. Camilla passes along a message from the gym’s sponsor. It’s all normal, routine things.
They’re in one of the training rooms when he decides to tell them.
“Aria?”
“Yes, Leader Raihan?”
“Can you do me a favor?”
And good old Aria, cautious as ever, says, “That would depend on the favor.”
She’s always been the sensible type, even from her earliest days at the gym. Out of the three, she’s the most skilled and the most dedicated. Raihan doesn’t play favorites, so he can admit that.
“I would like to ask you to care for Sandaconda and Duraludon for a while,” he says. “I can’t bring them to Alola.”
His trainers look at him with near-identical expressions of anxiety.
“I… Of course I will care for them,” Aria says. “I presume you are… truly leaving, then?”
He puts his hands in his pockets. There’s a weight on his chest, but even with deep breaths, he can’t dislodge it.
“Yeah. Yeah, I think I am.”
Sebastian rushes forward and hugs him. He’s got tears in his eyes. Seb’s always been sentimental like that.
Raihan allows the hug, gently patting his back.
Then, cautiously, Camilla and Aria join in the hug, too. It’s unprofessional of them, Raihan thinks, but in this case, it’s forgivable. They’ve been a part of his life for years. It’s natural that he’s going to miss them.
He doesn’t try to comfort them. He’s not sure he can, honestly.
What he finally says is, “I’ll have to tell Alola’s chairman by tomorrow. Keep it quiet for now, okay?”
*
The rest of the day passes quietly. Solemn, almost. Everyone’s acting like he’s going to die. Even his phone doesn’t provide a distraction: his notes are full of people tagging his accounts in the hope that he’ll give them the smallest hint of what he’s doing.
On the way home, he stops by the grocery store and buys a Pinap berry. He poses with it in front of the gym and takes a selfie, posting it with the caption Tropical.
Then he sets his phone to Do Not Disturb and lets the internet do its thing.
*
Hours later, Raihan is woken by the sound of someone pounding on his door.
He blinks, rubbing the sleep from his eyes, and reaches for his phone to check the time. It’s one in the morning. Whoever’s knocking, they had better have a good reason for waking him up.
Raihan pulls on some trousers and shambles to the door, opening it up to find —
“Leon?”
Huh.
The champion of Galar looks like a mess. He’s wearing his usual uniform but without the cape. His hair looks ruffled, but less in the sexy windswept way and more like he’d just been thrown out of a hurricane. He looks tired.
Leon pushes inside the flat, because Raihan has never been able to stop him, and asks “Is it true?”
“What are you doing here so damn early?”
“It’s the only time I’ve got in the next three days. Is it true?”
“Is what true?”
“That you’re leaving. To be the Alolan Champion.”
Raihan locks the door and leans against it, holding his arms loose at his sides. “I haven’t officially decided. But it looks like it, yeah.”
“Why didn’t you ask me first?”
“Wasn’t aware I needed your permission, mate.” He laughs, casually, like it’s more of their mid-battle teasing.
But Leon seems to think differently.
“Well, then,” he says, gritting his teeth, “if you believe you’re champion material, then why don’t you prove it right now and battle me?”
And Raihan says —
Well —
“No.”
This seems to leave Leon speechless. He draws back, golden eyes darting toward Raihan’s face and then just as quickly looking away.
“Why not?”
“Mate, it’s one in the bloody morning. My partners are tired. I’m tired. And what are you thinking of getting from this, anyway? Do you think that if you beat me, I’ll change my mind? Because we both know I’m going to lose.”
“You might win this time,” Leon mumbles, but it’s half-hearted and they both know it.
Raihan sighs. “How about this, mate. Why don’t I get us both some water and we can sit down and talk about things, like adults?”
He steps forward, toward the kitchen. Leon follows like a lost Yamper.
They’d left the Leon Jar out earlier. Raihan quickly palms it, sparing a glance to make sure the man himself didn’t notice it. When he gets to the kitchen, he shoves it on top of the fridge.
At last, he sits them down in the living room. They’re on opposite sides of the same couch. “So. You have a problem with me leaving?”
Leon wrings his hands. He doesn’t show that kind of nervousness in public, Raihan notes absently. He can’t. A champion has to be confident and alert at all times. But he wrings his hands, now, when they’re alone, when Raihan is the only person who can see it.
“I don’t… Rai, be honest with me. Am I boring you?”
“What?”
“When we’re battling. Am I boring you? I-I try to come up with something new every time, to challenge you, but if it’s not enough we could — we could do something else. I could talk to Rose, ask him if we could try doubles for our next match—”
“Leon.”
This makes him stop. He looks up, and his golden eyes look very lost.
Raihan sighs. “Leon, it’s not about you. This was entirely my decision, alright? I’m not dissatisfied here, I just — I want...”
He wants his own kingdom. He wants to use Z-Moves again. He wants Leon to be happy for him, to stop staring at him with that expression.
Curse his beautiful eyes.
“I wanna spread my wings a bit. Try something new. It’d be nice to live in a more relaxed region, you know? Maybe I’d get to battle without having being treated like a feral Obstagoon.”
“You don’t have to battle like that now. We could come up with something—”
“And maybe I’m tired of being second place. You ever think about that?”
Leon grimaces. He hangs his head, and the brim of his hat covers his eyes.
Raihan really doesn’t know why he’s upset. Leon is the one who wins, after all. He won Chairman Rose’s approval. He won the champion title. He’s won every battle he and Raihan have ever had since they were teens. He’ll be fine.
So why isn’t he acting like it?
“You are leaving because of me.” Leon holds up a hand to cut off any interruption. “I mean, I hear what you’re saying about wanting to get stronger. I want you to get stronger too! But it’s just — I’m the reason you feel so restless here, right? Because I’m the champion, and you have to always hold back to make me look good. I couldn’t figure out a way to fix that, a-and now you’re leaving. Just like Sonia did.”
Arceus.
It takes a special kind of conceit to expect a rival to stay close forever, even if they never win. It takes a special kind of conceit to blame oneself for their leaving.
But maybe part of it is Raihan’s fault, for letting things get this far. For diving headfirst into their rivalry, for acting as King Leon’s greatest knight. Being champion means you’re limited in who you can spend time with. It’s not like Leon has any other close friends.
Raihan moves forward, pulling Leon into a hug. His rival hugs back, tightly, like he’s afraid Raihan will leave right this minute if he lets go.
In a year, maybe, they’ll meet again, champion to champion. Maybe they’ll have an exhibition match. Maybe Raihan will even win. Either way, if he leaves, their relationship will never be the same.
He pats Leon’s back, rubbing small circles like he’s comforting a kid brother. “Listen. It’s not like you’ll be all alone. Oleana’s planning for Nessa to be your new rival. You like Nessa, right?”
“She’s okay.” There’s a pout in his voice. “She’s not you, though.”
“Give her a chance, yeah? And, you know, it’s not like Sonia left you, either. I literally saw her yesterday.” Two days ago? Another reason not to have conversations at one in the morning. “She’s following her gran’s footsteps. If you told Rose you were studying Dynamaxing, you could probably see her whenever you wanted.”
“I’ve tried that. She won’t battle me.”
“She’s a grad student, she doesn’t have time for that. There’s more to friendship than battles, anyway. Why don’t you ask what she’s studying? Maybe she’s got info about some Pokémon you’ve never seen before.”
Leon hums an acknowledgement, but doesn’t say anything. Raihan lets the conversation lapse.
They hold each other, quietly, sharing their warmth.
In the silence, Raihan’s thoughts turn to Professor Kukui. A guy that obsessed with moves and leagues has to be a strong trainer, right? He fought Lance, after all. He must be tough.
Is he as tough as Leon?
He thinks about asking for a battle. Just a practice match, just a way to test the waters. Testing himself, to see if he really is champion material. See if he can put up a good enough fight.
“Rai?”
“Huh? Uh, yeah?”
“I think I’m done. Thank you.”
Leon lets go. Raihan lets him go, lets him pull away, lets the sun slip out of his hands.
His (soon-to-be-former?) rival stands, one hand smoothing over his hair.
“I know you said you don’t want to battle, but can we go to your stadium anyway? Charizard is going to miss Duraludon. I want them to have a chance to hang out before you guys go.”
Leon doesn’t know, does he.
Raihan makes a mental note for Aria to let Duraludon train with Leon.
He says, “Let me get my things ready. Then we can go.”
