I think Sam, no matter what scenario, would and does feel deeply, deeply ashamed for any kind of attachement or connection to Lucifer.

Anyway I think there are many different ways to stockholm syndrome!Sam:

S6B: Sam feels like there's something missing. He doesn't know what it is, but there's a deep ache within him. It's not for Dean. God, he wishes it was Dean. And the shame of that tastes like bile: that Dean is not enough for Sam. That he wants something else. He thinks of Ruby and the demon blood. He thinks about Jess dying on the ceiling. Wanting things has never worked out well for him. He wishes he knew what he was yearning for - . Then Castiel breaks his wall and Sam remembers - bits and pieces, but it is enough. Oh, he thinks, of course it is you.

S7: When Sam starts hallucinating, Lucifer doesn't threaten him. He tries to make Sam believe he's still in the cage, but it's not to hurt Sam. He's understanding, almost apologetic. I know you miss Dean, but he's not here. You're with me. He's pointing out lucky escapes, making pointed remarks about the events of S6+7 (Purgatory, Eve, Leviathans...does all this not seem absurd to you?), the state of his and Dean's relationship (I don't know why you do this to yourself, Sam. Why do you imagine Dean treating you like this? The brother who trusted you to defeat me, who stood by you just as my brother did not...). Sam tries to dismiss everything he says, yet sometimes as he lies in bed at night after a long, tense, depressing day, Dean long since lulled to sleep with the help of whisky, he can't help but wish Hallucifer was right and none of this was real. And sometimes Lucifer hits a particular apt point and Sam spends days staring at Dean, looking for signs that can tell him if he's real or not. Sometimes - sometimes Lucifer feels much more real than Dean.

S11-13: There's something very compelling (to me) about Sam remembering exactly what Lucifer did to him in hell and hating him for it and yet being drawn to him. After all the time in the cage together he knows Lucifer - too well. He knows how he thinks, how he sees the world, what motivates him, how he feels about everything he does. Lucifer's mindset is as familiar to him as if it was his own. The certainty of his own experiences of suffering from Lucifer's hands vs the certainity of Lucifer's righteousness in making him suffer. And Lucifer knows exactly what Sam feels and of course wants to exploit it. Needless to say in this scenario Jack would explicitly be Lucifer's attempt to babytrap Sam...

I don't think its going to happen. I FULLY hung up the possibility of buddie ever happening at the end of s6 & think Buck realizing hidden feelings for Eddie is basically a confirmation at this point that they'd go in that direction. And I genuinely don't believe they're going to go in that direction. If what Lou said is true (& not misinterpreted) & Tim originally had the idea for this storyline with Eddie but it became Buck's story... that actually just screams more to me they only want one of them to be queer??

I wouldn't be mad about it if it's done right by any means, certainly! I just. Knowing how these networks work, and how Buck being made canon bisexual is literally making history cuz this is just not a thing shows do this far into the series, do I REALLY believe they're gonna go even further and give both Buck and Eddie coming out & queer self-discovery stories? No. I think they want to keep one of them for the straight men and women that watch this show (you know, those ones that just want someone to thirst over & imagine getting with/live vicariously through as they hook up with all the ladies which was the resounding issue most of them had with Buck being bi. I guess. Stupid reasons but there you have it).

I DO subscribe to the idea that Buck absolutely had feelings for Eddie in like s2... but he didn't realize that at the time & they eventually developed fully into friendship. And I don't think they would ever address that cuz, again, I think doing so would either

confirm that they're going the buddie route

be really really really mean towards the fans that are desperately hoping for buddie to happen cuz it'd be like "hey we see you, have this little crumb even tho we're not actually going there!" sort of thing.

Now, again, I could totally be wrong. Maybe one day I'll have to eat my words and if that day comes I will happily do it! Tho I'm personally now cheering on BuckTommy, it's not like I would hate the idea of Buddie happening, esp considering I hardcore shipped them since I started watching in s4. This is just my personal opinion based on experiences with other shows + looking at everything Tim, Ryan, & Oliver has said in interviews.

Nothing to me screams that they have that planned and, as someone who was there in seasons 4, 5, 6 for all the buddie theories and saw literally none of them come true. Well, I won't hold my breath this time. Cuz that hurt too much in s6.

puppet history theory time!! whats gonna happen this friday???

okokokokok there some stuff to unpack here

(disclaimer! i will be posting about this ep and the finale right after i watch it right when it comes out!! so please avoid my blog until you have seen the most recent episode)

so next week is a BIG episode, i honestly was expecting the finale to be The Big Episode but its possible that both of these episodes are Thicc with lore. Makes sense, theres alot of elements to the story that needs to be wrapped up (minus whatever cliff hanger that shane will leave us hanging until s6).

I thought that we would have to wait for the finale to see this scene, but since the disclaimer, i think we'll be seeing shane in ryans chair on friday! super excited to see what deal/meeting he's having with the devil. Ive heard of a ton of good theories (if you want to read my whole breakdown of the photo look here). now that i know that it has to fit with what we know now, im assuming its Executive Producer Shane Madej™ having a serious talk with the devil. I think the hologram is going to fail, revealing the devil to be somewhat responsible. The details to How he's responsible (or if we're gonna get a nod to demon shane) are pretty unclear, which is exciting!!

my main ideas are

1) shane made a deal with the devil in order to keep the show running. He may be a demon, but it will be subtlely implied for the people who Know™

2) shane just learned that the professor was never really here and is kinda pissed that he has to deal with this bullshit. he has to finish this show and deal with the logistics of having the devil on your payroll. In this one i imagine Executive Producer Shane Madej isnt super attached or passionate about the show and is there just to get his job done (funny becuase obviously irl shane is very passionate about puppet history :) )

I think ryan's fate isnt looking very good so far. Its good that he clearly knows that something is up, but he isn't sure what it is, and seems to be getting involved. He's tried to buy the genie lamp, he's been testing and pushing "the professor" at every turn and continues to get weird and Not Correct vibes from "the professor". i think all this meddling will probably get him caught or hurt. I think theres two ways ryans fate can go he either

1) is caught red handed or off guard by "the professor" (or whoever is behind "the professor") and is hurt in some way. being turned into a puppet, meat suit, or to be eaten are my top 3 picks. If i had to choose, meat suit ryan being controlled by a puppet who doesnt know/remember how human bodies are controlled would be really funny. hijinks, office shenanigans, everyones confused faces, 10/10

2) ryan actually figures it out!! (yay beef boy!) I just can't stop thinking of this line from the professors funeral song. I know shane is always foreshadowing stuff so it Feels like that but, it could be nothing.

In this theory I'm imagining ryan finally pulls back the curtain on the hologram live on puppet history and the person behind the hologram is left exposed and suprized, making it so ryan (and the crew) can put a stop to the hologram. Ryan has been building up his courage to touch "the professor" or the box and its possible that he'll finally get fed up enough that he just does it. After that they might jump to Executive Producer Shane Madej meeting with the devil.

Now, I know its sad, but we have to talk about it.

no.

He has the knowledge of his past, and he has his satchel. He probably stayed as long as he could, left his hat and glasses behind, and faked his death so he would be off the genies radar for a while. Then he time traveled to current times and has been sneaking around the puppet history and watcher set trying to stop the genie/devil.

The biggest piece of evidence for this is in episode one where theres some noises in the background while "the professor" is on stage teaching and ryan asks

"yo is this place haunted?"

I think the noise they heard is from the dino professor moving around trying to piece together what to do next. It would be best for the dino professor to do all that moving while "the professor" is busy teaching, so that he's less likely to be caught.

WHATS IN THE BOOXXXXXX

I know it has to be important. It has to. Im on board for the dino professor to be in the box. Im not as confident in my theory about the box, but! thats ok!

my thoughts are, if the dino professor is going around the set loudly in ep1, i would expect that to continue to happen more and more throughout the season. However, that has not been happening. So I think the dino professor made it to the puppet history set, made too much noise, escaped to watcher HQ where he was caught by "The professor" and was locked into the box.

Episode 2 started with ryan pointing out the chains on the box. At first i thought the box would progressively get more and more locks and chains, but it didnt. Making me feel like putting the dino professor in the box wasnt part of the plan, but "the professor" added a lock and chain and thought "that'll do".

I think in episode 1 the box was powered on jelly beans, coveted cups, and whatever other magical professor stuff was lying around. After "the professor" caught the dino professor, he needed a place to hold him. Why not this box? i got a lock and chains, that should hold him in the box! And from then on, the dino professor has been stuck in there. All those glitches? might be the dino professor trying to escape the box so he can save and forgive his favorite beef boy.

(a fun idea supporting this is the end song that is usually the backup vocals and instrumentals has been replaced by what sounds like the song playing in another room, possibly becuase the real professor is in the box, barely able to hear what is happening on stage? credit goes to the wonderful max for figuring this theory out with me, truly genius level thinking going on there)

I think i can see either see

1) the dino professor saving beef boy by cutting off the power in the box, leaving the person in charge (probably the devil, maybe the genie) exposed. this either happens live durring puppet history, or the professor escapes the box, and saves ryan from being killed/puppetified just at the last minute. The jist is, the professor saves ryan.

2) or.. ryan breaks the box or touches "the professor" exposing the hologram, and saving the dino professor from being stuck in the box. aka, beef boy saves the professor.

I can see this whole arc taking place over one or two episodes. If the dino professor is saved before the finale, the finale might be a reunion and celebration of the real professor finally coming back and teaching again. and ryan will be relieved when he doesnt win.

ANYWAYS thats my theories!! ill be sure to update yall after the episode on friday! im so excited to see if this is the path shane decides to go down. i feel like theres so many cool ways this shows lore can go and this is just a few of them. knowing shane, its gonna be crazy and entertaining the whole way through.

I don't even know if this would be considered a fic?? Cuz honestly this was such a short little thing that I wrote in under like 15 minutes 😭 probably the shortest amount of time it's taken me to ever write literally anything. But it was after I watched S6 E136 and literally that night I had a dream where this whole scene was played out in my head. And it just felt so dramatic in the right ways and just raw emotion that I had to write it down. And it's STILL my most liked post on this entire blog😭 but honestly understandable bc sometimes I go back and read it and I'm just like "damn wait I wrote that????" lmfaoo

"Only for you, Toshi" — Shinsou:

Completely opposite from the last one, this is actually the longest thing I've ever written. (that's posted anyway, there's a few longer still in my drafts) I just feel like Shinsou doesn't get enough love but he definitely deserves it😭❤️ all my friends that read it said they really enjoyed it and I'm just really happy with how it came out after working on it for a couple weeks, and that not touching it for a few months and then coming back to it only to finish it in like 2 days lmao

Now this wouldn't be a post about my fics if I didn't include something for my absolute favorite character in the entire show🖤 this fic was very self indulgent bc I'm such a brat🤭 and I'm convinced that Dabi is the king of brat taming. This is a multi-part series I'm co-writing with my bsf @haru-x-ren on a joint account we made. (@bunny-x-haru if you'd like to follow) it's currently still a work in progress with only a few parts released, but it is a continuation of a 2 part fic I wrote when I first started called "You're the Only Thing That Makes Sense" — Bakugo So I do recommend reading this one first before Secrets for context and background info. I feel like you can really see my growth in writing from then to now, cuz that was like literally the second thing I ever posted lol. And Haru was literally my biggest fan bc he's the one that got me into writing fanfic<3 so after he read it, he had this absolutely BRILLIANT idea (spoiler) to take the scene I wrote where bakugo and deku were caught fighting after school hours (similar to that scene from season....2? When Bakugo learned about OFA) and turn it into a BakuDeku love triangle and I was honestly obsessed with the idea

The scene you posted today made me think about the possibility of us getting a parallel of it in season 6 — then dancing together at Bailey and Nolan’s wedding.

And the way it probably wouldn’t be all that different 😂 maybe his hand placement might be lower on her back 😏 but they’d be just as smiley and flirting and happy

You have no idea how hard I was trying not to think about that when I was rewatching the wedding scenes! I'm half expecting Bailey and Nolan's wedding to either be interrupted or just be a simple ceremony with two witnesses like they were implying at some point… But I'm honestly really hoping that there will be another scene with Lucy and Tim dancing together. The potential of parallels with this… I agree, it probably wouldn't be that different. I could totally see them exude the same happiness and carefree attitude they had at Nyla's wedding since they were already acting like a couple there… Then again, there's a chance that they would also take it up a notch in the intensity level now that they are together… Maybe another elevator eyes moment… Maybe even a kiss… The heart eyes and little touches even more out of control…

As for the other potential parallel - depending on when the wedding happens in the season, Tim and Lucy could address her possible promotion there. She's after all supposed to take the detective's exam at the beginning of s6 - unless she already did. So if the wedding takes place in the 100th episode, that also could be when she finds out her score. Or if the wedding is kept under wraps until later in the season, it could indeed be tied back to her undercover storyline, especially if she had to do another op right before. So many possibilities…

what bothered you about jeronica?

what bothers me isn't about them per se. i think they're what everyone who likes JV expected them to be, and fairly in character, and i really do like them and what they were given. it's the writing in general and how these writers just miss the mark everytime.

like, for example. man, imagine! if this JV storyline happened in s5 post-time jump. jughead needed a place to stay there, veronica could've been fresh out of her chad mess. why couldn't they connect then and develop something that would matter? or even more! when she moved in with archie in 5x18. JV could've connected there, found out they shared the same interests, and then they could've slowly built something. but again, NO! we were stuck with stupid veggie and reggie being an asshole instead of a good love interest for v.

and even in s6. couldn't they build that friendship while JV were working together? yes! but did they? no. they had veronica pining for archie and hinting something would happen there, only to, again, change everything last minute because it was fun!

so, it just pisses me off that we could get a good thing but we don't get a good thing. these characters aren't even our characters. when tabitha comes back then what? when jughead gets his memories back then what? why does it even matter the way they are writing JV? it doesn't.

also, even in the 50s, they couldn't have spared another episode to build up stuff if they wanted to go there? not JV per se, but the switch from varchie was insanely fast again, just like in the end of s5. nothing is supposed to matter this season i guess, and i'm mostly okay with it, but sometimes it upsets me especially when it concerns veronica.

anyway, i'm not upset with them happening, it's just the way this show could be good and sucks everytime. also i don't like how some people take the opportunity and use them to shit on varchie, but well, it is what it is.

i have so many thoughts and questions about s6 but i'm also Unhinged so putting it under a read more bc this is just me needing to share them somewhere??

something that has my mind spinning is all the bts content we’ve been getting because i’m too curious for my own good and i’ve fallen down this rabbit hole of trying to figure it out (i’m not going to but i have nothing better to do lmao) — we know s6 will pick up with s5 finale storyline bc that obviously needs to be resolved but what i’m so curious about is how big that storyline is? from how they set it up in 5x22, it seems to be bigger than two episodes (assuming s5 finale to s6 premiere).

what has me the most confused in terms of timeline for s6 is that 6x02 will be bailian wedding (100th episode) and we know aaron will be there so there’s gotta be a time jump at some point between 6x01 or 6x02? but then there’s tim and grey show up with facial cuts to the wedding so something happens that may or may not be connected?? 

and then all is well and bailian goes on their honeymoon which angela and nyla may or may not show up at because they all end up at the beach???

AND THEN WHAT I’M LITERALLY GONNA GO FERAL ABOUT IS LUCY CHEN IN THE HOSPITAL!!!!!!!!!!!

i think i’ve blacked out the bts content between john and bailey on their honeymoon and lucy in the hospital because i can’t remember what they shared in that in-between period. however, whatever happens i think will place them at the hospital for at least an episode or two? because i remember before eric and melissa shared those bts pics, jenna posted a few tiktoks at the hospital (at least one with lisseth so bailey and celina are there too - only ones maybe missing are nyla and angela?). 

sidenote: the way they’re all gonna go through in in s6, maybe??? bc there’s at least three of them now that we’ve seen with cuts and bruises for s6 that have a different placement than the cuts and bruises they ended s5 with?? lmao.

i’m literally so excited for whatever’s to come that’ll give us tim reacting to lucy getting hurt because of how he’s reacted before when she was just his rookie and now that they're canon i can’t imagine him not losing his shit over it. 

i’m also delusional and for a second was like "what if it’s an undercover op??" 👀 because imagine this - the big bad has connections to law enforcement/is or was "one of their own" aka someone from mid-wilshire so in order to flesh them out they put up some elite task force that's made up of patrol, detectives, metro, lafd, & the district attorney (aka the main cast) to scope them out and lucy goes "undercover" to get close to whoever that is and gets caught in the crossfire and that's how she ends up at the hospital?? (or bonus point delusion: she's not hurt and it's a set up) because again, they're almost all at the hospital in whatever episode(s) that'll be??? (this isn't a theory by any means, i'm just being a clown, also i don't think it makes any sense but ya girl loves drama and angst lmao).

anyway, i really hope s6 is fanfic pt. 2 because whoever let a fanfic writer into the writer's room for s5b deserves a smooch. i still can't believe we got half of the canon chenford moments that we did ♡

Since that anon is interested, I think I'll take this as an excuse to share some of my favourite hermit headcanons with you !

Jellie is extremely intelligent. Whether or not I think she's a normal kitty cat depends on what's plot convenient but I firmly believe that after s6 Jellie has been making sure, by force, that the Vex leave Scar alone. She has mutilated and eaten many in the last few seasons.

While I'm on the subject of Jellie, I like to think her perspective of her relationship with Scar is like that of siblings. Scar is a brother to her, one she cares for dearly, though also one with whom she gets very exasperated at times with how often he dies.

Tango, in my head, is basically a fire genasi; in dnd these are essentially part elemental, and their bodies are in part made up of their element. Whenever I picture Tango, his hair is made of fire.

Hey! Do you think viren is dead? Is this it for his character? And if it is, why didn't he check up on Claudia before going off to die? I feel like he might have decided to stay alive if he saw what happened to Claudia. What do you think?

Talked about this before (see my "tdp viren" and "morally ambiguous fam" tags for other thoughts on him and S5 mage fam stuff) but

No, I don't think Viren is dead. There's no real story reason for Claudia to lose that much blood (or for the story to make it that any of Viren's children would've been viable) unless it was to be a loophole. There are also unresolved relationships that could be developed further, largely between him and Soren and him and Kpp'Ar.

The framing implies that Viren leaves the beach after he refuses to kill Sir Sparklepuff, AKA Claudia has overall recently gone into the water (with no way to follow her without dark magic, which he's just sworn off) during daytime and well before she emerges at night time.

While this could be it for Viren (and I would be fine with it if so; just means the story is going in a different direction that I expected / find more personally interesting, perhaps than the alternatives I can imagine) S5 does a lot of work to change him in a way that could feel unfulfilled if it doesn't go further for the sake of other characters' arcs.

Like I don't think Viren as he is now at the end of S5 - oppositional to Aaravos; regretful; protective of both his children; acknowledged the nature of his various choices; sworn off dark magic - will really change that much if he does live past S6, but I think by virtue of living, he'd have to face a lot more of his own damage outside of Claudia and bring interesting things to the table for the trio / Soren. (I also very much want Kpp'Ar and Viren to interact again post-decoining but like - what fic is for if nothing else.)

And I don't think anything would've made Viren decide to stay alive by killing Sir Sparklepuff, even if he had seen what happened to Claudia. His love for his family is what began his path of like, real damnation, and what saved him in the end (which bodes very well for Callum's future arc as well). If anything he would've helped Terry bandage the leg, taken Claudia aside, apologized and hugged her and try to convince her to get off the dark path he'd led her on before it could take anything else from her, that she should leave Aaravos too.

Whether she would've listened to him is another matter entirely, though.

There's also the fact that Viren knows a lot of things (possibly did star magic to bring Soren back? What he did precisely to heal his son in the first place that was so horrific Kpp'Ar stood against him after a lifetime of dark magic? How he got his staff? etc etc) that he'd be able to answer, if Kpp'Ar doesn't do it for him.

But yeah - until S6 comes along and makes me (possibly) booboo the fool, I'm sticking to my gut instinct and saying we haven't seen the last of Viren, and I'd be surprised if he's fully dead

It is GoodTimesWithScar's birthday

and I'm going to tell you an abridged version of my life story because of it (aka: the many ways GoodTimesWithScar changed my life for the better)

Firstly, if it weren't for him, my MCYT phase would undoubtedly be over by now. I got into Hermitcraft in the same way as many other people probably did - a Mumbo "Building Your Redstone Ideas" video, lots of references to something called Hermitcraft Civil War, a spark of interest. I decided to watch Grian's perspective instead of Mumbo's for whatever reason, and I loved it. I zoomed through the Civil War, kept going through the rest of S6, hopped right into S7, and before I knew it, I was caught up to date, waiting for the next video to upload. So I decided I needed more. Grian had recently said a thing about how, despite the war and stuff, he and Scar were actually really good friends, so I decided to restart S7 from Scar's POV. And boy howdy, was that the right decision. The builds, the goofiness, the wholesome, chaotic energy, it was all just so amazing to me, and it still is! It hooked me in and hasn't released its grip since.

At some point, a couple months into watching him, I learned of his neuromuscular disease and was further awestruck by his resilience and how he manages to stay the most wholesome person on the internet despite it. Fast forward a few years, I've branched off into watching most every Hermit at some point, but Scar's stayed a constant for me. Then comes Update, and I learn he's been going through some horrible health-related stuff and my heart breaks for him. In between Update and Post-Surgery Update, I remember there was a time I was taking pictures for the school yearbook and all of a sudden I was overcome with this horrible sinking feeling and dread and terror that he might be dead. And I prayed and prayed and begged God to let him live and he did and, regardless of whether that panic was reasonable or not, I will never ever forget it, nor will I forget the incredible joy I felt upon seeing the Post-Surgery Update.

A couple of months later, I'm sitting on the school bus thinking about my future. My dad told me that, whatever I chose for my career path, I should make sure it has a balance between making me feel fulfilled, making me money, and making me happy. In the past, largely because of Scar and the other Hermits, I had had a dream to start a YouTube channel and someday, if not become a Hermit, at least meet them. This is still a dream of mine, but it's taken less precedence lately because of the realization I made that day. I love science, I love puzzles, I love reading and going down rabbit holes, I had considered going into the medical field a few times before, we don't know much about neuromuscular diseases, and I love watching Scar. And I remembered that sheer terror and I imagined the sheer joy if Scar no longer needed his wheelchair, if it was because of something I had done. And I know that's not likely, but I know in science every contribution helps, everything builds on each other, and it would certainly hit every mark on my dad's list.

In summary: Scar has defined a large portion of my childhood, and will define my adulthood (I am going into medical research (specifically neuromuscular diseases) because of him) and I wish him the happiest of happy birthdays- HANGON WAIT WHAT HE DID WHAT TO THE PERIMETER?????????? IS HE INSANE????????????????????????

For now, I'm going to include a note in some of my posts asking that people not reply or reblog with comments or tags that do things like:

insult the writers

claim "bad writing"

say things like "the show is dumb", or "we're not supposed to see it that way", or "it happened off-screen [even though we have no proof]" (if there's no proof that something happened off-screen, it's not canon)

say that s5 was rushed and not written properly and/or the s5 finale is the "real ending" because the writers thought that the show wasn't going to be renewed (which the writers have outright refuted and which is illogical given their decisions for the plot, characters, and characterizations in s5)

say that the writers are too afraid of the majority of the fans to have the story in s6 go any way that might upset these fans, or that Netflix is affecting the writers' decisions or forcing them to give fan service. (I know there's usually politics involved with networks and production companies wrt show runners having creative agency, but the consistency in the storytelling style and characterizations indicates that the writers still have the same level of the creative agency as in early seasons.)

These types of comments and tags minimize the contents of a post and effectively shut down conversations about important topics related to the characters and their character journeys.

I enjoy healthy conversations and debates, and I'm used to certain CK fans dismissing my opinions and posts because I'm a "Robby fan". But, most of my interactions with fans after s5 just have me tired of not being able to talk about the story itself and the storytelling without people minimizing what I'm saying with their negativity and condescension towards the writers and the writing.

I know a lot of people are upset with how the story has gone so far. I'm also not happy with a lot of the narrative decisions. I've also mentioned before that I'm not happy with a lot of the messaging so far. However, the nuance in the storytelling is still there. It's been pretty consistent since the start. The characterizations have been consistent too. So when people say "bad writing", I disagree. I think of bad writing as gaping plot holes, inconsistent characterizations, incongruous timelines, etc. I don't think of narrative decisions that I don't like as bad writing. I recognize how the story is framed, but framing is just one aspect of the story and is a tool for storytelling. The context, subtext, and a lot of what we have in the story itself tells us so much that is in contrast to the framing. This show has some of the best indirect storytelling I've seen in a show. I find the storytelling and characterizations to be really interesting, and I hope to keep discussing Robby and his story without my posts being dismissed.

And tbh I wonder where people's imaginations are. This is a fictional story, and a lot of things can still happen. For example, I actually don't think the baby plotline is meant to continue. If you take the time to analyze the story, it's pretty obvious that the baby was used as nothing more than a plot device this season for a few negative reasons, and this new "family" itself isn't meant to be a/the "happy ending". That's all I'll say about this plotline in this post. I'll see how some of my new posts do before I share my full thoughts on this plotline in a later post about how and why I think things may go a certain way. In general, I want to keep talking about the story as if it's a story.

Robby and his journey represent certain people in society and the traumas and struggles they experience. So far, the story and other characters haven't been too kind or sympathetic towards Robby, and sadly, the world and society irl aren't too kind or sympathetic towards many people who have similar situations to Robby's. I think his story is important, and I want to keep talking about it. I want to keep the conversation going about the important topics being explored in Robby's story.

this is definitely not a dig at you Ciara, it's just something I have to let it out because it's driving me up to walls..what is this fandom's, I am gonna say unnecessary, coolness towards the show? I truly don't get it why they won't let people to be angry about anything happening on the show? If someone says something, people are jumping on each other's throats by posting some condescending shit. like? the couch theory shouldn't end like that. It doesn't make sense when you consider the progress buck had in this season but apparently we are not allowed to have opinions because then some popular blog will post something degrading our opinions by using 'jokes' and their mutuals gonna join and make us feel like shit. mm i get where you're coming from! i think the fandom in general can tend to veer quite strongly in opposite directions when it comes to stuff that happens on the show. some people will immediately catastrophise and act like the show has royally fucked us all over bc of one scene when the season (or in this case, the show itself) isn't over. and then on the other hand - and maybe in response to that - other people can tend to jump through hoops to explain away and rationalise every single decision the show makes.

to be honest, i'm not a fan of either option. i think it's actually really important to be able to just say 'i personally don't like this storyline' and not need a deeper meaning for it???? like for me, as far as the couch theory is concerned, i'm not happy with where it ended up in 6x18. even removing buddie from the equation and just speaking as someone who's very dedicated to buck's seasons-long romantic arc and quest for genuine love, i'm not happy. it's not satisfying to me. it's nothing to do with natalia. i don't know enough about natalia to have an opinion and like. that's the problem??? it's a disservice to the work that's been put into arc not just in s6 but also everything since s2. and sure maybe it's bc they thought the show might end so they wanted to wrap it up. and sure they'll probably walk it back in s7. doesn't matter. i don't like it.

and that's fine!!!!! i'll write my own version if it bothers me that much (though tbh real life is so busy right now i can't spare much headspace for all of this lmao) i've watched a million shows that have made decisions i don't agree with. the fact that that's quite a rare occurrence with 911 is actually an anomaly in and of itself aksdjfh.

i'm not in the business of putting down other blogs and i would imagine a lot of the people you're referring to get far more asks than they ever actually answer that are extremely negative (and potentially see more negativity on their dashboard too if they follow a broad range of people??). and so as a result, maybe they make posts that feel dismissive bc they're fed up of that reaction??? having said that, you're absolutely entitled to feel what you feel and shouldn't feel guilty for expressing that on your own blog.

overall though i think we'd all fair a lot better if we just tag our shit so people can blacklist as necessary and let ourselves not like things sometimes?????????? none of us need an explanation, just saying 'this isn't where i thought this storyline would end up and i'm disappointed' is more than enough. and from my own experience, allowing myself to have thoughts like that and sitting with them for a sec before reading/writing some fic is usually all i need to feel better in the end!

Is there any truth to S being the one to bring in the intimacy coordinator? The only person I've heard it from is him, and I'm skeptical. I'm curious if you have come across anything from any other source?

I'm not sure, I can't really remember other's saying he was the one that brought the IC in. I do recall Cait talking about it in an interview. Contrary to him, saying the IC was very helpful for them. He, and I'm talking now about what he said during S6 promo, that it was more for the younger actors as he and Cait were more experienced and didn't need it really as they were able to work things out for themselves. (rephrasing).

I also posted about it after the NYC 92Y event, where he claimed he wanted to keep everyone protected and for the younger actors to not have the same experience he had, feeling pressurized. I cut the video snippet there, but he tells also in that video that he came in contact with the IC via the RCS. So it makes sense he brought it up as a producer and having the contact proposing to bring her in. But it's more how I interpreted it and not actually based on any other cast member confirming he brought the IC in.

That said, I want to combine it with this other ask I received:

I've seen a lot of discussions about the subject everywhere. Very divers ones. On FB it handled more about the IC and a lot of the comments were more about the intimate scenes between Jamie and Claire than about the rape scene.

On Twitter I even saw a thread of tweets, people disgusted and upset about a number of tweets that said the part should not have ended on the cutting room floor.

What to say, I think we all should be glad it wasn't. Imagine the gifs 🙈. I mean, just look at the MiK skinny-dip gif zoomed in ... cough-cough...

I don't think it would have added much to the scene though. Personally I really didn't need to see a nude penis for that scene. It was horrible enough and got the emotion across in a believable painful way enough.

I've thought about it myself and I actually wonder if he thought this through. The way he expressed it in his book. Was it to whine in hindsight, or was it more to express the need of an IC so younger actors wouldn't have to go through what he experienced. He also said in the above linked post with the video snippet; "But that's not on anyone, it's more that's what the expectation was. You know I signed the contract, it absolutely is what it was."

I really wonder if he expected that it would be discussed this heavily and that it would make these headlines. Of course, he could have, as it is low hanging fruit for tabloids. Any better clickbait than this? I don't think so. Question is, are these articles expressing what he intended to get across. 🤷‍♀️

Dante without a Virgil — The Good Fight 6x01

just before the finale episode of The Good Fight dropped, i made a twitter thread with my unsolicited thoughts on Dante without a Virgil, referenced in ep 6x01. i then followed up after the finale and since it's missing Diane hours, i'm reposting both threads here.

so. Dante Alighieri wrote the Divine Comedy in 13C. he plays himself in the story, and being guilty of the sin of lust (Diane Lockhart you WENCH), ends up in hell. there he meets the soul of Virgil, an actual poet during the time of the Roman Republic. hence, Dante met Virgil in hell.

Virgil offers to help Dante through the nine circles of hell to get to paradise. *hallelujah*

but wait. the gates of hell bear the ominous inscription 'All hope abandon, ye who enter in!' and guess who talks about hope this season? Diane Lockhart.

Dante and Virgil are really student and teacher (so if you project, then the relationship is also uNetHiCaL). but Virgil also *protects* Dante. hmmm.

lust is the second circle, and this is where hell really begins. i think the interesting circle is the eighth, violence. against neighbours, self, and God/nature. it is VERY evident from Virgil that the violence of man destroys nature itself.

Virgil has a grander understanding of divine will, which he tries to teach Dante. hello buddhism. whether it works... well, Diane is holding a dorje in the finale teasers. but also:

s6 has really been about legacy, what this is all for (children 😥), tho it circles back to 101 (how is my life so fking meaningless?). as author, Dante knows Virgil has a legacy, but Dante is also concerned about his own legacy.

do i think Diane is perhaps imagining her version of hell while she's on PT108? maybe... remember her first session with the doctor she dreamt of a picnic with a guy (which i think is realised in the finale) and said:

so how does Dante end? Dante goes through 9 spheres of heaven & enters the Empyrean, the place of pure light where God resides, which feels like a dream to him (cf surrealism/reality).

Dante's journey began with him losing faith, questioning "why", as Diane has since s1: "In the middle of the journey of our life, I came to myself in a dark wood, for the straight way was lost."

he quit his job and ran up those flights of stairs to ~save her~. that's the drama of Tristan & Isolde.

so by the end, Dante has found that his search for completeness is a journey. and Diane has realised that love is at the centre of her universe 💛

People are upset about Raphael's body design and I'm sitting here, thinking to myself that he literally looks like a 12 years old. I know some people have baby faces, but the idea of me as an adult romancing someone who was designed to look so young makes me uncomfortable. The worst part is that from what we know so far, he is going to be the only guy whose personality isn't showboaty, tropy, or in-your-face. I really wish I could get past my discomfort, but his sprite looks wrong in so many ways. Every time someone makes a post about how cute his face is, I think to myself "yeah, because he looks like a toddler". How old is this guy supposed to be?

yea idk how old rafael is supposed to be, just that he's younger than alex (he described him as his big bro in the villa) he's definitely giving early 20s energy. maybe 24 like bobby? can't imagine him any older than that

I'm sorry about your discomfort though ! :( you're not alone in thinking that btw, if you are on the litg subreddits i've seen other people talk about how young he looks. after the backlash season 3's art style got, you'd think FB would put an effort into making islanders actually look their age lol

it seems they're trying to appeal to a younger audience, like, not young adults but actual teenagers. the amount of times the word Rizz was used in s6 was ridiculous. if that’s what they’re aiming for, i think it's an awful idea, more likely to drive current players away than bring in new ones.

can't speak for all people who think he is cute, but for me the trainwreck of reused assets on his body definitely stood out to me way more than his face! i didn’t even think he looked that young until i read others mention it, but it could be because i'm 20 with a baby face, if i were in the game i would prolly look like him or a s3 islander😭 a bit unrelated but my initial thoughts about his appearance is that he reminds me of rafael aveiro, from Choices open heart. plus an eyebrow slit & defined mouth corners like seb

honestly i'm just holding out hope that the rest of the islanders aren't so lazily designed ... but they feel confident enough to be charging gems to view sprites that look like a bunch of rough drafts, unfortunately it’ll probably go downhill from here😅

i agree with you about personality. though if it makes you feel any better, the fact that s7 is releasing so soon means it might follow the season 6 format, aka : just pick whoever you think is attractive or age appropriate, because every single LI will end up sharing the same personality, except the inevitable guy who will string MC along during the entire game
