At seven sharp, Buck slips out of bed.

“No,” Eddie groans, pawing after him while simultaneously rolling into the warm spot he left behind. “Baby. What are you doing?”

Honey takes advantage of the now-open bed and hops right in, paying no mind that her ass is right in front of Eddie’s face as she does so. “Disgusting monster,” he mutters at her while he flips onto his other side, facing away from the cat. He watches Buck bounce excitedly around the room to get his clothes on and tidy up. It’s exceptionally adorable.

“Jee’s coming today!”

Eddie glances at their digital alarm clock to make sure he's not going insane, then looks back to his husband. His over-eager, jumpy, lovely husband. He's cuter than a grown man has any right to be.

“In four hours. Which means you can come back to bed for three hours and thirty minutes.”

Listen. I'm a firm believer in Dog Person!Steve but when Steddie get a house together it fills up with cats so goddamn fast. There's a colony of strays nearby and Eddie starts feeding them at night. One of them was injured and Steve may be a dog person but he still likes animals. And then the cat needs somewhere to recover, obviously, but it ends up getting attached to Eddie so now they have a cat. And then there's another cat but this one is pregnant and "she's so little, Steve, what if something goes wrong!" So now they have another cat and three kittens that Eddie swore they were just fostering. (Eventually they come across a stray dog that latches onto Steve within minutes. Their family may mostly be cats but that dog is just as spoiled).

Several Sentence Sunday

Not tagged by anyone yet which is the whole reason - Because it's 3:43am on Sunday here and I legitimately planned to do this asap because @theotherluciferr I get to tag you first this time! <3

Here's something random and cute I've started while my demon cat (aptly named Loki, this feline is psycho) was attacking his own leg along with mine.

He's deciding what the dead thing is - it's tiny, not even big enough to fit in the palm of his hand. It's just a lump of wet, matted black fur, streaked with white, with tiny triangles for ears pressed back against its skull and a pink, pinched nose - then the thing fucking moves. He startles back, his legs hitting the coffee table and sending him sprawling into it - then, as if it can't get any worse, the thing fucking mewls, and he curses the universe. "Buck - did you bring home a god damn kitten?" He asks, trying to keep his voice level and calm. The thing in Buck's wet, rain soaked hoodie, is nosing around with pinched, closed eyes, as though it can smell the damn fear radiating off him.

"Eddie, come on," Buck's voice is a whine, pleading, and Eddie hates when he uses that tone - because it's the same tone that convinced him to let Chris keep a hamster, and a rat, and a fish, and a ferret - but this is a damn kitten, that will grow into a cat, and Buck knows he hates cats with a passion so he can't possibly- "Please, Eddie. He's not even old enough to open his eyes. He'll die if we don't help him."
