pairings: bucky x reader

warnings: fluff! a smidge of unrequited love, but i think that’s about it

summary: the team decides to do a secret santa... of course you get the one person you’re in love with

a/n: i don’t know how i feel about this one, but i hope you still enjoy!

You wrung your hands in nervousness, as the team sat around the tree. You were wearing a hoodie and sweats that you had found lying around - you and the girls often stole other member’s clothes to wear - with your favourite pair of fuzzy socks and a blanket around your shoulders. The others had situated themselves on the sofas, by the sofas or around the tree - well, that was just you and Tony.

Wanda handed you a cup of hot chocolate as you muttered a quick “thanks” before turning towards the presents.

You picked the first one up, inspecting the tag before calling out for Nat. Tony picked one up and called out for Steve. You both handed the presents out until each member had one in their hands. You watched Bucky out of the corner of your eye, seeing as he turned the small box in his hands, a small smile appearing on his face.

That calmed your nerves slightly as you looked down at the neatly-wrapped gift laying in your lap. You picked it up, your finger hovering over the flat surface and spine. You could tell it was a book - it was no secret you liked to read. If a team member needed you, they would often find you in the common room or your room, your eyes glued to the pages of your current adventure.

You smiled at the thoughtfulness, before gently prying open the sides stuck down with tape. As you opened the wrapping, you came face to face with the first edition of your favourite book. A small, breathy “oh my god” left your lips as you traced the writing softly. You let out a laugh as you face lit up with a huge smile. You looked up to see if you could figure out who it came from.

You were met with Bucky looking right back at you, his apprehensive expression melting once he saw yours. You mouthed a silent “thank you” as he mouthed one back. Your brows shot up in surprise as Bucky cocked his head in the direction of the kitchen. You nodded, before making an excuse of getting more hot chocolate and headed into the kitchen.

As soon as you saw Bucky, the words spilled out of your mouth.

“How did you know?”

“Oh, c’mon, doll. I’m a trained assassin. You think I didn’t notice?”

You gave a small shrug before he continued.

“And, no one else would’ve gotten me something like this.” He held up the present you had gotten him, a small, dark red bauble with ‘James’ written in gold cursive on it. You hadn’t interacted much with Bucky so you were stumped about what to get him. When you finally settled on this, you couldn’t help but worry about his reaction.

“So... do you like it?”

“It’s perfect.”

Without warning, Bucky leaned forward, clashing his lips onto yours. You parted after a few seconds, a giggle escaping you.

“What was that for?”

Bucky gave a shy smile, his metal hand reaching to rub the back of his neck.

“I liked it.” you admitted.

His eyes lit up as he watched you get closer to him again, before finally connecting your lips in a sweet kiss.

Winter Wonderland

So this is my for lovely Christmas collab I did with @sweetxvanixlla. You can see her moodboard following the link here. We wanted to show two different friendships from Band of Brothers and using Bastogne seemed fitting with the Christmas theme somewhat. I have always loved this scene between Eugene and Babe. I feel like their shared losses in Bastogne brings them together.

BUT BEHOLD FABRIC

The Christmas collab character!

She's a Sunset Golden Daschond Yokai who loves theater and acting, she tries to act all big and cool but often falls victim to her own nerdy gushing about musicals or actors.

She has a prosthetic leg that is attached to her service "creature" through the orb. The orb let's it know when it's time to move and when walking is simply getting too difficult to continue

Her service animal is a heated gel ran robot made with a magic imbedded crystal to have the actions of a living creature but the function of a robotic creature.

She has effectively named him Audrey after the plant from little shops of horrors, Audrey 2 or Audrey ||

She likes any and everyone in regards to relationships and is huge on romance but very much lacks the capability to respond properly, either responding with 100% emotion or none at all depending on the day, which doesn't mean she doesn't love her partner she just simply can't output her emotions on that day.

Very scary dog energy but in fact not a scary doggy. She LOVES Lou jitsu movies as well and often tries to find screen prints of his movies to read them, yes she can watch them but she wants to read them.
