the night air already smells like winter. wanted to wail about it but went to the bathroom first to warm my hands in hot water and due to how easily sound carries across apartments, heard that the neighbours' kids must be having some sort of party or sleepover because they're very loudly having the time of their life running around and jumping and laughing, clearly in greater numbers and joy than usual. no longer in any mood to complain about even the coldest winter.
