We can easily find faults in others, whether it is a gesture or a sentence. However, we don't know what is wrong with ourselves until somebody tells us. Or it is still difficult for us to admit it even when we are told. This is true no matter how insightful we are.
Sakyamuni Buddha taught that however hard we try to view ourselves objectively and correctly, we are unable to do so because of the "seven conceits".
There are 108 blind passions in all, but of those 108, there are six that trouble and torment us in particular. One of these is conceit.
Buddhism categorizes our conceit into seven types, called the seven conceits:
1. Conceit
2. Greater conceit
3. Excessive conceit
4. Obstinate conceit
5. Grandiose conceit
6. Humble conceit
7. Evil conceit

"Customer Service"
.
I know I'm good at what I do.
Better than most,
and probably you.
.
Yet my mouth i keep shut
I let my eyes wander.
I have my aspirations
so far off yonder.
.
I laugh at your jokes
I listen to your nonsense.
I hear you complain
and at the end of the day
I get paid.
.
Is it salary, enough?
.
My hands get dirtier,
yet my pockets are as thin
as yesterday's existence.

The belief that we can manage the earth and improve on nature is probably the ultimate expression of human conceit, but it has deep roots in the past and is almost universal.

Red fox (Vulpes vulpes) [photo: Jonn Leffmann] When the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog, what next? Quizzically orchestrated by vexed jazz-folk composer Wagner – his mojo favours quite waxed zips – lo! an alphabetically arranged fanfare! Banjo, didgeridoo, harmonica, kazoo, pipa, quena, vuvuzela, whistle, xylophone build a wavering muzak from just quiet to an expert cacophony. © C A…

Self Doubt
Alternate title: What Would Tuvok Do? I’ve been thinking a lot about this topic lately. I have noticed that a lot of my own behaviors are driven by self-doubt, and this leads to assumptions or choices that have no basis in reality. One might say, it’s all in my head. The origins of this self-doubt are not that important. I have my theories, but it doesn’t really matter. What matters is that…

You should know that when you talk about yourself, you will always be bragging. When you talk about yourself, no matter how you say it, you can't help bragging. When successful people write their autobiographies or talk about their experiences in lectures, no matter how humble or modest they are, they are still bragging. Sakyamuni Buddha taught that however hard we try to view ourselves objectively and correctly, we are unable to do so because of the seven conceits. There are 108 blind passions in all, but of those 108, there are six that trouble and torment us in particular. One of these is conceit.
Buddhism categorises our conceit into seven types, called the seven conceits:
1. Conceit 2. Greater conceit 3. Excessive conceit 4. Obstinate conceit 5. Grandiose conceit 6. Humble conceit 7. Evil conceit If we’re convinced that we know ourselves best and that we can view ourselves objectively, then that clearly shows conceit—and that we don’t understand the seven conceits at all.
Sakyamuni Buddha taught that however hard we try to view ourselves objectively and correctly, we are unable to do so because of these seven conceits. So how can we come to know ourselves and obtain true happiness while having these seven conceits? Buddhism provides the answer, so please do keep listening to the teachings.

The Claws Of A Narcissist By Craig Childers
Narcissism is becoming more frequently known
A dysfunctional prefrontal cortex as science has shown
The self objectivity is absent you see
And they are null and void of any empathy
They exploit and coerce with triangulation
And engage in emotional indoctrination
They have fantasies of unlimited success
While keeping their targets in constant duress
On top of the world in their delusional state
Manipulating others is clearly their fate
They will devalue you amongst your friends
From their relentless spite, there is no end
They expect all praise and admiration
As they indulge in their targets humiliation
They will over idealize with all their intent
With no introspection in a mind well bent
The narcissist does not make any mistakes
And in their exploits there are no brakes
There is no light in the mind of a narcissist
Just arrogance and haughtiness amidst a self serving bliss
They exert circular reasoning and their gas lighting
And straw man fallacy partners with the belittling
They engage word salad in a manipulative tone
And recruit flying monkeys to keep their targets alone
So pompous, entitled, and grandiose,
But that is what the public wants to see
Control is destiny in their insecure mind
To your right and your left, you’ll find like kind
Their charm and charisma will mesmerize all
But failure’s fear can make them fall
And in the prefrontal cortex that science now knows
Are the claws of a narcissist that continue to glow

Do you know the difference between confidence and conceit? The man who knows his enemy and knows himself is confident. The man who knows not his enemy, yet smirks, is merely conceited.

Teashop Universe
I’m made of chamomile some days:
Where I feel only tranquility
Relaxed and content with life-
For souls are cups of tea.
Red ginger for bite; that is-
The delectable spice of the angry
Making our righteousness:
For souls of cups of tea.
Other days I’m lemon ginseng green-
Verdant, vibrant vitality
Happy and strong, untouchable
For souls are cups of tea.
Some are bitter, refusing sugar
Yet to be sweetened with the honey-
Love and care- that many crave:
For souls of cups of tea.
Many a leaf, many a spice
Many an herb make me, me
Complex flavors make us all:
For souls of cups of tea.
