GODDD louis and identity!!!!!! he’s always performing he’s always repressing and vampirism didn’t free him from a damn thing he’s the breadwinner, the favored son, the gentle hand, the kind word, the black sheep, the outcast, the lover, the father, the brother, the mourner, the saint, the vampire with the guilt that weighs him down that pulls him under and makes him beautiful and yes he’s drowning but at least he’ll die human even that creates another layer between himself and the rest of the world and he literally can’t go on like this so. so
Strahdposting (with possible spoilers so tread lightly)
One of the worst things about Strahd in our campaign is that he's not overtly forced anyone to do anything. His underlings have, sure, but never him. He just waits for us to eliminate our options all on our own, and then presents us with his way. And of course, his way is the easiest. He'll even make it easier. We keep falling into the pit because he ensures we dig it ourselves.
We're almost past the point where he wants to bargain with us and I'm nervous about what happens when he stops being the devil we know and becomes something else altogether.
The recent reveal that there were other parties before ours has been so shattering for us, I think, because it made us all realize that our party is an amusement until it is an inconvenience, and then we'll be insects in the garden that have overstayed our welcome. And then he'll start with the force.
So after about 6 months of planning, our Curse of Strahd campaign finally reached the dinner at Castle Ravenloft, and we went all out.
Mood lighting, raven decals, a 4 course feast and lots of interesting conversation. It was delicious and decedent, although Strahd didn’t share his ‘wine’ for some reason.
The portrait of the party on the day they arrived in Barovia was by ‘a local artist’, according to Strahd, but better known as @black-metal-bard on Tumblr. It was suitably concerning for the other players.
The third prompt for @drawtober is Devious Dining, and big thanks to @jackienova and @danilanidingdong for the OCs! A lovely vampire and her devoted thrall having a bedtime bite.
Full offence to every vampire ever, and my heart goes out to Lucy, but this?? Is how you're SUPPOSED to drink blood.
Look! Not a drop of blood anywhere! Ever! No myriad of strange bleeding wounds, and! The victim is still alive at the end of it! Not hale or hearty, not after so long, but really! Lucy was only a bit tired and nervous after the first couple days, if he branched out and actually cared about his victims, they'd be well!
There's no excuse for poor blood drinking manners!
Not me with my current fixation of bg3 and also my bigger d&d fixation of curse of strahd, thinking about what if the bg3 cast, instead of being abducted by mindflayers, got swept into barovia. They won't have worms in their heads anymore but they're still in deep shit because its strahds personal pocket dimension, and also like half of them don't look "human" enough so no ones gonna trust em. Also no ones gonna trust them because the residents will clock astarion as a vampire INSTANTLY.
Flashback: London, England, 1941 during World War II
Daniels tells Nicholas, Me mum copped it in an air raid last year. Don't know where my dad is. He ran away when I was small. Nicholas asks, You have no family to go to? Daniel answers, Only an auntie, up north, Sheffield way. Never met her, but she might take me in.
