of course!!! going to throw some general pop/indie/rock/instrumental all over vibes at you? these are some of the ones that i've been having on repeat a lot lately because they bring something bright and fun into my days - hope you enjoy them !! 💛
if i'm honest (trousdale) – oh the absolute vibes of this one. the harmonies. the beat. the slow downs and build ups? that ending? it's like easy, slow, growing ease and joy. that point 3/4 of the ways through the song, that building of things? the payoff? those background horns? the drums? i cannot sit through it without some kind of air guitar / drums / chair dance type beat. it's too good that you cannot help it, it just goes so hard.
close one (fizz) – i have been writing so much love poetry to this song. it is soft and slow and serene like light, all golden hour, the soft golden hues of almost, of here, like this, with me? that little 'fuck it' before the chorus is so fun. this group is made of insanely popular individuals (dodie/orla gartland/greta isaac/martin luke brown???) and together .... they are so powerful. cannot wait to see what they create next !!
run (maisie peters) – there is such a fun vibe to this song. that line of the chorus, that 'i've been lied to / i've been cut and deleted / i've heard some things i will leave unrepeated' is sooooo good, that rhyme scheme that syllable count balance? it immediately went onto my writing playlist w/ that fun beat, that synth, that catchy repetition? the whole album this comes off of is so very good too, esp. 'the band and i'? i really enjoy her sound!!
like a brother (hey, nothing) – this song feels like a lullaby, in the way of being swung in a hammock? all late summer, early winter winds? but there is such a lyricism that gets stuck in my brain, the whole layout of the chorus and is just so soft. i feel so many things. another easy one for the poetry playlist.
margo (sally boy) – oh the orchestral, string opening? the easy flow of it, instrumental and light, before hitting that small bit of silence before the guitar and lyrics come in? and then the absolute hit that is the beat of the chorus hitting? obsessed. phenomenal. i love the balance of gentle, light instruments and the slow instruction of the drumbeat, it feels like a whole story that you can experience, the flow of it!
eightball girl (maddie zahm) – i can leave this song for a few days and then out of nowhere it'll just be in my head again, the vibes of it, that beat of the chorus? the layered voice effects? sometimes songs have this balance to them that my brain just sucks up like a sponge and this is one of them. soooo good. i'll be in the supermarket and my brain will just go eightball girllll, tell me how you feel about meeee and it's perfect.
snow angel (reneé rapp) – this was one of the first ones i found on my daylist that was just like, how did i go so long without you. how did i not know about you. and since then it's been a daily listen. the slow, gentle breeze of that beginning? there is such a rising and falling to this song, like seasons, like the breeze? all tide, all here and there and back again, all resilience and ferocity, softness and violence? that electric guitar and the piano and the feedback just makes me want to just. aaaaaaa. this whole album is just banger after banger too!!
grace (henrik) – it's so fun!!! it brings me so much joy and energy, the easy breezy pop vibes, it's so hopeful and gentle and loving. i have it set as my alarm rn because i really do think it'll last through the sisyphean task of getting me out of bed in the mornings, it just feels like sunlight.

Danganronpa V3 Animatic
Might finish it into a full animation (not anytime soon)
IT'S DONE, I'M SO EXCITED THAT I FINISHED IT AS FAST AS I CAN I felt like I was having a Danganronpa V3 open book exam as I kept rewatching certain scenes to figure out what to draw ejfnend
I once said that my dream is to make a long animation one day- I feel I'm one step closer to that dream! 🥺💖
I'm really happy with how this turned out, I'm posting to mark my improvement from Kaemugi animatic (which had too many close ups)
I've been studying animations I like and some anime scenes frame by frame to improve-
I'm not good at storyboarding, I actually tried and gave up- So I just jumped directly into making the animatic
I feel I planned really hard scenes to do for final as there are a lot of dynamic and perspective poses ekfjejd ESP THE FIGHT SCENE that part is my favourite wkfjd I RILLY LOVE ACTION IN ANIMES I didn't think I could pull it off, it looks really cool in the end! I feel I'm not able to do those hard poses now, but maybe in the future? >:3
Just gotta keep working hard and be patient and one day I'd reach my goal!

Ending: After getting crushed by a rock, Tsumugi reflects in her final moments about everything that happened
The mirror flashes back to her pregame self where she is forgotten by everyone for being too plain, all she has is Danganronpa to keep her going
It changes to Junko to show how Tsumugi was so lost in fiction that she copied Junko completely and forgot about herself
The mirror then changes to Tsumugi herself in her current state to show that Tsumugi finally accepts reality
The reality is she is herself and the fact that the killings were all real so she doesnt smile and dies together with her regret
^I know this is not a popular fandom view but if I'm going to pour my heart into something that could possibly take years to do, I'm going to do something that I truly want for myself and not just what is most popular and most welcomed I hope there will still be people who enjoy this though, thank you for all the support!🥰💖

-I want Tsumugi to lipsync the lyrics "I designed this rhyme" as it feels fitting of her role, the mastermind
-Himiko pulling down her hat before revealing she is crying is to symbolise how much she had repressed her feelings till now
This was inspired by a Warrior Cats animation btw! It's called "Swiftpaw AMV - In The End" by NekoVocalNote
I came up with all the scenes in this animatic myself (which I'm proud of akdjdj) but I was inspired by that Swiftpaw animation's action and how one can finish a full animation- I used the same song as it! My final is a bit similar to the ending of the Swiftpaw animation too!

there was an interview with the bat seiyuu in this magazine and i finally sat down to read it (almost two months after its release *wheezes*) and here were the highlights!!!!
it’s basically the whole thing so buckle in lol
upon being asked how they felt about bat’s anime debut, all three of them revealed they were certain they would have had a last episode cameo LOL
sakakihara-san even gave us what he thought the dialogue would be lmao so there was a lot of disappointment when they were told only rei was making a s1 appearance
needless to say, they are very happy bat’s now in rhyme anima lol
they were asked how their impressions of the characters has shifted over the years!!!
hayama-san responded when he first played kuukou, he got the sense he was a massive brat lol but that bad attitude of his stemmed from his understanding of the world. kuukou’s mellowed as the story progressed and had him experience more, eg establishing his teacher-pupil relationship with jyushi, and now understands how to navigate others weaknesses with tolerance and warmth
he’s still childish and still has a high perception of the world and that clash is where kuukou’s energy stems from. he’s at a crossroads between youth and maturity so to say
hayama recalls recording for kuukou’s first radio where he was a lot more mature, and then moving to chaser from the past, the track where he invades fragrance, and how hard it was adjusting mentalities LOL
harmonious cooperation really drove home for hayama-san that kuukou was the sun tho!!!!
that strength and energy that opens and paves the way is how sakakihara-san and takeuchi-san can tell he’s the leader
on that note, hayama-san mentions he’s never seen kuukou’s weaknesses. compared to jyushi and hitoya, we know next to nothing about kuukou’s past besides that he reached a point higher in his asceticism than his father and hopes to see everything leading up to it someday
for sakakihara-san, he was told jyushi was a crybaby and assumed he was a weak person. but once he learned about jyushi’s past, he realised that even tho he does cry, he’s still able to assert his feelings and doesn’t back down from anything, so jyushi actually has a very strong heart
jyushi sings in moonlight shadow, ‘i bask in the spotlight’s growing brilliance, in seizing a mic, anyone can become a hero’ and with that lyric, sakakihara-san understood jyushi may have a very tragic past but there’s a very strong flame burning inside him and he’s able to illuminate others with that light
bat’s come a long way and sakakihara-san finds comfort that jyushi’s around people who can laugh and joke around with him and will continue to strengthen his heart with them
takeuchi-san says jyushi is blessed to have so many good people around him, including his band members, which triggers sakakihara-san to start thanking the both of them, esp after takeuchi-san mentions it was hitoya who introduced kuukou and jyushi to each other lmao
and speaking of hitoya!!!! takeuchi-san felt he’s been mature since the beginning and thinks it’s cool that he talks to kuukou and jyushi like they’re equals. but he likes to compete against them sometimes so he’s got a very childish side to him lol
lately, hitoya’s dark and sordid past, his childhood hobbies, have been targeted as a joke and takeuchi-san is absolutely amused by it lmao
hayama-san brings up ‘amaguni the magic king’ and ‘amaguni moon’ from arb and takeuchi feels hitoya’s being bullied a bit lol but it adds to his charm!!!!
when it comes to dubbing the anime versus the drama tracks, all three of them are cognisant of pacing
in the drama tracks, for example, when jyushi is in vkei mode, sakakihara-san is allowed to take his time to croon out his flowery words but in the anime he does have to fit everything he says in a set amount of time
now that he has pictures and movements to match, sakakihara-san was trying to make those words flow with what jyushi does, rather than what he imagines jyushi does by nature of the drama tracks, while maintaining the vibe of what jyushi’s saying. there was some trial and error involved trying to get it right
it’s the same for takeuchi-san and he appreciates getting to see hitoya’s hand movements as he does his two thing bit lol
they were then asked if there was any directorial direction that stood out to them and they didn’t really receive any!!! takeuchi-san commented there were more cases where staff consulted them about their characters
the interviewer said it’s probably because the characters are embedded into them by this point but hayama-san laughingly thinks they still have a long way to go before they can say that lol
he says this but follows up with, it does make him happy that when he’s reading something and questions if this is something kuukou would do; it means he has a good understanding of kuukou as a character
they start talking about episode three!!!! the episode exists as ‘the strawberry episode’ in hayama-san’s head LOL
hayama-san is happy to see kuukou interacting with the locals (and loves that the old ladies call him ‘kuu-chan’ lol) and takeuchi-san comments it’s neat that they all spoke with nagoya accents!!! bat doesn’t really speak with the nagoya accent and it’s also very rare for anime to have characters that do, so that makes him happy as someone who grew up in aichi prefecture
sakakihara-san liked how so many of bat’s charms and elements were condensed into one episode!!! with jyushi, tho he was being picked on by the antagonists, he liked how the episode highlighted the trials jyushi’s gone thru to make him strong enough to lend a helping hand to belial
hayama-san comments that ever since the battle between bat and mtr, he thinks bat’s appeal is that, just as we witnessed with jyushi and belial, they take your hand and pull you up when you’re at your lowest to give you the strength to stand up on your own
whether it’s the hand that’s offered or the hand that receives it, they are joined and will walk as equals and as friends. bad ass temple guides others by building relationships with them, hayama-san said
the interviewer was particularly charmed by hitoya telling jyushi ‘friends you make when you’re young stick with you whole your life’ and so was takeuchi-san. he feels hitoya mentioned this because of his relationship with jakurai, with all its turbulence they’ve still come back to together
the interviewer then brought up ichiro and kuukou’s past as naughty busters!! hayama-san said kuukou’s relationship with ichiro is something that’s been forged stronger than what he has with jyushi and hitoya so there’s a lot of trust kuukou places in ichiro. takeuchi-san said they have the kind of vibe where because they’re former teammates, they can understand each other without saying anything and hayama-san agrees
hayama-san feels mcd and nb have a similar connection and when the four of them got together, ichiro and kuukou kinda had their own little bubble. the interviewer thought ichiro and kuukou’s conversation, where kuukou asked why didn’t ichiro call him and ichiro’s asking if he really needed to (and ofc he didn’t) had that atmosphere and that conversation honestly made hayama-san swoon with how smooth and natural it was lol
when asked about their thoughts about sanity, the insert rap, hayama-san initially felt it was similar to rip but that opinion changed after listening to the demo. sanity, to him, felt similar to a division all stars song where he doesn’t sing in kuukou’s style in order to bring out the harmony of the song. sakakihara-san also takes in account to how much of jyushi’s vkei style he should put in songs like division all stars songs
takeuchi-san also found himself considering the harmony in sanity and didn’t go hard on the volume for his parts as he would with other songs
takeuchi-san feels like sanity has a very strong kuukou influence and after hayama-san listened to the whole thing, he felt excited thinking about how to maintain bat’s individualities when performing it live
next up was next stage!! all the artists who wrote for each individual team has done so in past songs and moroha’s afro, who gave us kaigen, returned for next stage. hayama-san was very happy to work with him again
the part in jyushi’s verse, where he goes ‘guided by the sky, protected by the heavens’ and onwards was a bit of a struggle for sakakihara-san to portray jyushi’s feelings like he wanted to. he kept asking for retries to get the vibe he wanted
hayama-san felt the same since kuukou’s thanks in the song isn’t something kuukou really does. kuukou’s not one to be shy or embarrassed so he did multiple takes in order to portray the warmth afro intended when writing those lyrics
takeuchi-san comments that with an artist like afro, it’s really hard to come in after listening to his demo and making his style of music work with their characters. hayama-san followed that with it’s because afro’s music is one that pierces the heart of the listener, himself included, so he’s immediately at the ready to do what he needs to in order to preserve that whilst playing kuukou, hence the multiple takes
and now rise from dead!!! it’s a song with a lot momentum, very fitting for rhyme anima!!!! that momentum is what made the song fun for takeuchi-san
sakakihara-san enjoyed getting to sing for his verses and hayama-san felt like nagoya’s part could be summed up as, kuukou bringing the breakneck speed, jyushi’s like a dance and hitoya wraps it up with a crash
the interviewer then commented it felt like the three of them got along with each other very well. but had their impressions of each other changed over the years??
hayama-san doesn’t think so but takeuchi-san Has Words About That (and hayama-san and sakakihara-san start laughing LOL)
they’ve gotten less shy around him and hayama-san teasingly tells him that’s because he’s spoiled them rotten by letting them get away with everything, with sakakihara-san chiming in, ‘papa!!💜’
naturally he wasn’t as comfortable with them when they first met, they were strangers, but as they hung out together more, he felt he could let go of walls and manners around them. this makes sakakihara-san giggle💜
hayama-san takes the time to apologise to takeuchi-san, he feels like he’s been taking it too far lately and takeuchi-san calls him a liar LOL
the interviewer asks them what they think their appeal is as performers and hayama-san and takeuchi-san both went, ‘destructive power probably????’
takeuchi-san thinks they’re like, A Lot, whenever they perform together lmao
hayama-san, from day one, has set out to destroy the atmosphere the og divisions set lmao in a breaking barriers way. takeuchi-san honestly feels like he will every time he takes stage and sakakihara-san feels the same way watching the both of them lol
takeuchi-san feels like there may be a sense of friendly rivalry between the three of them as they all try to find ways to shatter glass ceilings with every live and each of them trying to take that momentum higher
hayama-san agrees and says one way they can do that is to bring a gold sachihoko on stage like the way mtr brings palm trees out for papillon
takeuchi-san tells the interviewer hayama-san has been asking for this for a while lol
sakakihara-san also relays to the interviewer that he’s been trying to manifest this for them by speaking it into existence lmao
the interviewer laughs at them and asks about 8th live stories. sakakihara-san starts giggling and upon takeuchi-san asking why, he brings up the shinkansen pic story and hayama-san and takeuchi-san missing their cues. he is very determined to never let them live it down lmao
the interviewer finally asked for their final words!!!
takeuchi-san comments the rhyme anima story seems to be pushed along by those being controlled against their will. it’s been handled lightheartedly but will the story take a darker turn?? tune in!!!!
sakakihara-san commented tho the episodes as of now are solo division focused, there will be a time when viewers can watch and enjoy the chemical reactions that happen once the divisions start to mingle. please enjoy the story impacts all of the characters!!!
hayama-san says finally nagoya and osaka are in the anime. do look forward to seeing all 18 people come together, what conversations they’ll have, what kind of atmosphere it creates and how the characteristics of each person stands out. kuukou and ichiro have more conversations, so if you enjoy naughty busters, please look forward to it!!!

My predicted ratings of Taylor Swift’s songs in her upcoming album The Tortured Poets Department:
(hey, so basically to anyone who isn’t a Swiftie, this post is gonna make zero sense to you so just ignore this lol)
1. Fortnight — 5/10, I genuinely don’t think I’ll like it, maybe it’s bc the AI version on tiktok isn’t my style at ALL and kinda ruined it for me. Plus the title doesn’t stick out at all and I’m so sad that this song is track 1, esp considering her most recent album Midnights had an iconic opening track.
2. The Tortured Poets Department — 8/10, I always LOVE her title tracks and I’m so excited for this one.
3. My Boy Only Breaks His Favourite Toys — 7/10, the title doesn’t really stick out to me but I feel like it’s gonna end up being an amazingly catchy song. Negative points for the easy rhyme. (“boy” “toy”)
4. Down Bad — 10/10, I’M CLAIMING THIS SONG IDC IDC, I HAVE SUCH HIGH HOPES
5. So Long, London — 10/10, I’m actually terrified to listen to this song bc not only is it TRACK FIVE, but I know for a fact that I’ll sob. I’M SO EXCITED AND SCARED.
6. But Daddy I Love Him — 5/10, not too bad not too good, love the Little Mermaid reference but idk something tells me that I won’t vibe with this song
7. Fresh out the Slammer — 6.5/10, the title’s interesting and I have no idea what to expect

11. I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can) — 9/10 for relatability reasons. Like damn Taylor thanks for calling me out. But also there’s a SLIGHT possibility that this song is about M*tty Healy and I am simply very concerned about that.
12. loml — 7.5/10, I just KNOW it isn’t just gonna stand for “love of my life.” Taylor’s too much of a genius to use that abbreviation for its common meaning.

Hank Williams anon. I grew up with country music and I love certain artists tbh (Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline and Dolly Parton)and I am SO here for Billy and Patsy Cline! An uncle of mine loved Hank Williams and that was his favorite HW song, which always cracked me tf up, and I can't imagine any other country song more hilarious than that for them to hook up to, esp those lyrics "Son of a gun we'll have big fun". I am so happy it's made you laugh as well! 😌 YESSS lmao @ Billy's ego death. He would eternally cringe and Stu would never stop reminding him of it. NEVER. I find the idea of Billy suffering like this hilarious so to make it even worse for him I'm headcanoning that is Stu's dad's favorite HW song, he sings/whistles/listens to it a lot and that has definitely happened since they hooked up to it, when Billy's at Stu's, at which point his soul left his body while Stu was killing himself laughing. I can see Stu incorporating those fucking lyrics into everything too, like they'll be talking about framing Mr.Prescott for the massacre at the party and he'll be like "Goodbye, Joe, he gotta go, me oh my oh". and he loves the fact that he is the only one who can get away with doing this to Billy. lmaooo you are so right about that 91 song, Stu absolutely would. and totally with the lyrics too. Headcanons fully accepted! I can picture him either saying lyrics that sound like something he might be saying seriously when they're hooking but they sound too long/or rhyme so it takes Billy a minute, OR just flat out saying lyrics like the ones from that 91 song and Billy's like... sonofabitch (I love the idea that in the au where they live and they are still together in modern days he stillll does this and Billy will be like IT'S BEEN 30+ YRS AND YOU'RE STILL ANNOYING AS FUCK. gave it a listen and while i have to sit on it to really digest it it does give me a chance to talk abt a trend ive noticed
i actually really liked the second half of the song! the issue i had with the first half though is that ive noticed english voca producers esp those trying to imitate GHOST's style is that the lyrics are...clunky
it sorta feels like they were writing with the intent of substituting bigger synonyms or technical terms in, or lines that could be pulled out for dramatic effect on their own. which isn't bad, but a lot of these lines are super clunky and weird in the fast-paced melody theyre going for. especially with all the mid-sentence rhyming. it almost feels like theyre trying to rap but its not rap
also im begging people who make pmvs with lyrics in them to make it so you can actually read the lyrics cmon vane what the hell is this. at least add CC
otherwise though its pretty good and i did really like how it went in the second half it definitely felt like it had a more solid identity and easier flow. nun imagery is cool and im a sucker for the biblical allusions in the lyrics. it seems like theres a bigger story here but i dont know enough about vane's work to tell if thats true or if its just a little thingamajig
the tuning is also really good

oh god okay gonna start by saying as much as i love comics i’ve read very few of them okay let’s go
x-men: exiles. if you’ve ever wondered “hey, where did the name ‘blink’ come from, and also, how did you and jaz get to talking” the answer to both is in fact x-men, and exiles is my favorite. i haven’t read the shorter 2018 run (yet), but the earlier run is one of the first comics i ever read and clarice ferguson my darling is front and center so obviously it bangs.
x-men: x-factor. okay this one is great it’s a detective/noir setup with a bunch of great people including terry cassidy, my literal wife, and rictor and shatterstar - who are definitively the gay romance of all time. it gets uhhh less enjoyable as it goes in my opinion? but the first half fucking WHIPS and you just don’t get team-ups like this anymore.
hawkeye. yknow the matt fraction run. so like i’m a fake fan or whatever but i didn’t read this run until very recently and in fact i’m still working through it but i adore both the way clint is written and the way kate is written which is stellar because everything i’ve read with kate in the past has just been kind of. fine? she’s not the most compelling to me usually. but I love her in this one. she’s so so good. man.
red hood and the outlaws (2011). don’t read this one. don’t. it’s not good. for every one (1) panel showing the platonic ideal of a bi4bi4bi ot3 there are 70 panels of nonsense and bullshit (derogatory). instead, find a local bisexual who has read it and ask them to explain the best takeaways and plot points to you, so that you can ignore all the bad writing and poorly done plots. the version that exists in someone’s head is better than what exists on the page. even so, i am the local bisexual who goes feral over it. so like, it got me and it goes on the list.
birds of prey - once again. do not read this one. or at least don’t read the 1990s run because the politics are just. they’re so. questionable and in fact bad. and esp in the later issues the characterizations are very off. but what you CAN do is accept that dinah and babs were in love even before dinah knew babs’ name, and then go read the later runs by gail simone because that little factoid is all you need from any of the hundred or so issues written before ms. simone came along.
ohoho BALLADS. what if i just listed ballads (poems from Romantic authors) instead of songs. i’m not going to but i did consider it. i struggled with this one actually because like, technically ballads have specific meanings and i spent a while trying to find the narrative, abcb rhyming, folk songs. but that’s hard lmao so here have five slow love (?) songs regardless of genre.
“all the pretty girls” by kaleo. this is one of my top songs of all time actually which is why it’s on here, regardless of question specifications. OR. fuck. listen to “my fair lady” off their next album too. godddd god i lose my mind.
“weights and measures” by dry the river. everyone who knows me long enough has to eventually listen to me wax poetic about the album shallow bed (acoustic) at some point, i’m not going to get into it here again, but like. albums i can recite front to back and WILL at the slightest provocation. god this song. GOD this song!!! see also: bible belt and new ceremony. the fact that i use lyrics from any other artists for fic titles is a miracle.
“boy crazy” by dessa. okay listen, this is nothing like the first two songs and may not technically count as a ballad, i know. but, like. lie down in the grass and stare at the sky and listen to the live version from her performance with the minnesota orchestra. unlocks new emotions every time.
“nothing at all” by the crane wives. i wasn’t going to include it because it’s not quite right per the parameters set above but i keep circling back to it and going goddamn that’s a good one though,,,
andkfkgmhm i’m so. me. every time. okay go listen to “into your arms” by the maine. i’m sorry. the warped tour kid in me refuses to let this one go. music videos i watched on REPEAT in high school.
honorary mention to hozier, i told myself i couldn’t list him because everyone already knows all his slow love songs and that’s fine, but it’s weird not to put him on lists of favorites because. well. he is one.

I've been listening to emo/pop punk/rock covers of Taylor Swift covers a lot lately, and it's been making me think of "what makes a cover good or bad" and these are those thoughts
when the cover is in a different genre than the original was in, the cover makes changes that make the song feel like it "fits" in the new genre, rather than just copy-pasting melodies, musical choices, etc.
a good cover does not need to change the lyrics (esp. the pronouns) to evoke new ideas
a bad cover has lyric changes that ruin the rhyme pattern or flow
anyway, Loveless's cover of "exile" is really really fucking good and i wanted to talk about it

oh to be able to express like rumi!
or to be spoken through. or however it works.
this hit me bc i am deeply connected to the ocean. my *happy memory* go-to is the beach, the pacific ocean, *my* ocean. my fav colors are like soft teals, pastel aquas and blues, deep ceruleans... so yeah i'm a mermaid but not like... not like the commercialized version that everyone buys into. if i die tragically, i want it to be by drowning in the ocean.
wtf was my point.
anyway it brought me into that sharp awareness of being. and it's like peace & love & comfort & oneness & vibing...
idk, it was cool.
i also really love language. i hate it, but i love it. i hate that we need it, it's so clunky and awkward. there are a lot of words to remember & what if you get them wrong or forget them or put them in the wrong order? (hello, autism. 👋) i used to write poetry, realized i sucked at it & stopped.* i've always been deeply interested in foreign language, even tho i do not have the attention span to learn any. (i took one yr of spanish and 3 of french tho, that was fun. tried to take german... studied japanese w a new-at-the-time friend who has been a friend for like 10yrs or more.) (also i really love.... intentionally arranged sound? & i love variety. so i basically just love the way languages *sound* even without the meaning. don't get me started on accents...)
but i think my deep appreciation for language comes from being neurodivergent, being frustrated at being misunderstood all the time. being afraid to speak up too much bc my thoughts didn't align w what i was taught. my instincts going exactly counter to what i was being told all the time. so i probably developed this desire to be able to correctly assemble and arrange the most appropriate words for any given situation. the right & wrong things... so much to remember.. omg so boring, so tedious.. no wonder i hate everything. er.
so. yeah. no one asked for my psychology, but there u go. i never told u to read this, it's ur own damn fault.
*so this is a memory story. there are two, actually.
the first is, when i was in 5th grade, so around 9 or 10, i wrote this poem & it got printed in The School Newspaper (!!! omg such a huge deal!) anyway, i had this memory, & vaguely remembered some of the words. then somewhere in my 20s, i found the paper & read it & i was *amazed.* it was phrased perfectly, didn't even rhyme, was pretty deep esp for a 10 yr old. i *cannot* remember exactly how it went, but if i posted it with no context, u wouldn't think it was by a little kid. idk how i *lost* how to do that. probably by trying to Be Good and follow rules.
the other is when i was in hs, probably a senior, probably 17. so i listened to a lot of 90's alternative & grunge, as one did back then. (98.5 KOME, i still remember 😂 i wonder if any of those tapes are still good?) so i wrote a poem that was probably heavily influenced by the lyrics of the time, smashing pumpkins, REM, nirvana... and i was v proud of it. idek why i thought showing it to my family was a good idea, but i did. & my grandma goes "this [part] doesn't make any sense. what does it mean?" and i'm like "it isn't supposed to mean anything..." anyway it crushed my lil soul and i had to Follow Rules again. bc how can i know how to People if i don't do things the way People do things?
oh wow that's sad. poor young me. *hugs lil me*
why do i share my trauma.
idfk. maybe so one day, even one person will feel less alone.

hungarian anon here!
the english lyrics don't really translate the vibe of the song. the thing is that there is a lot in the rhythm and the rhymes. in hungarian Meggypiros vagyok, kínoz a szerelem / Falfehér vagyok, gyalázat a nevem goes on a specific rhythm so that gives it the vibes. it's also important that szerelem nad nevem has the same vowels, and it end with the same syllable.
the drabble (or one-shot) you posted earlier was so good! my soul needed that after my physics and chemistry tests
Yeah I figured. Tbh I wish I could speak every language for that reason, like so much context is lost when you translate things esp poetry.
Anyway thank you! I definitely do not envy you for those classes lol I hate physics. I love chemistry tho tbh but physics…not my thing lol. I hope you did well tho!
