Fuck significant others, the clones need friend groups outside of other clones. And by god do clones find the strangest but best bunch of friends ever. They make the kinds of friends that are friends for life. Their friend groups will be composed of a county clerk that inherited a house from their great grandparents that they turned into an apartment complex, 20 year old who legally adopted the slightly younger 20 year old friend back a few years ago when they turned 18 to run away from home, a tired nurse, a stressed cashier and their roommate with anxiety and a pet goldfish, 2 parents in their 30’s with kids each from different marriages, a professional hairdresser, the up and coming chef that runs a ghost kitchen out of their house, the stem major with plants and ocd, the lawyer with negative time who lives on vodka and perie water, that one person who finds some random trinket wherever they go, the ex convict who does community service on the weekends and is good at driving, a guy with sandals and an antique sword, that one fucker who refuses to eat a vegetable ever, a skater, the neighbors elderly grandmother whose surprisingly spry and likes to do crosswords on the porch, the goblin and their younger goblin sibling and their pet gremlin gerbil.
When there back from a deployment there friends take them out places, they go to restaurants and bars, abandoned apartments, space malls, local concerts put on by garage bands, public gardens, markets and underground skating rinks, little corner stores with murals spray painted on them, they go sewer pipe exploring and find old little archive nooks and tiny museums dedicated to a very specific thing. All while braving the subways, nearly get mugged at least once, see a giant rat fight a dog for a quarter of a bagel and win, get split up in the ground and nearly loose the youngest member, hearing gun fire in the distance, whitesesing nefarious activities that they pretend not to see, and getting lost a few times but hey, it’s all part of the experience. They get together and marathon tv series and eat snacks and cook monstrosity foods at 3 am. They have inside jokes that don’t make sense at all and you really had to be there to understand.
Their friends talk with them all the time over chats and calls, making sure to update them on how their pets or plants are doing while adding in little details about their day to day life. Their friends teach them all their individual traditions, cultures and holidays and they all celebrate them together. Their friends get them random little gifts that they treasure for as long as they live. When their friends find out the clones don’t have birthdays they designate random a day as their birthday and throw them a little party and bake/buy them the pastry of their choice and they hope that there all still here by next year so they can do it all again.
Their friends get to know the brothers that are closest to them, either gaining their approval, introducing them to their own siblings or befriend them as well, which of course sparks a small sibling rivalry between the clones (get your own friends vod, this bunch is taken). Sometimes troopers will take a fellow brother with them for safety and support when they go over to a new friends place for the first time. They comfort and mourn with them when their brothers don’t make it home. Their friends may one day end up mourning the loss of them, they hold a small funeral between themselves and commemorate them however they can. They keep a shelf dedicated to them in their home, they paint on ally way walls so the public won’t forget them, they create and destroy for that one person that influenced their lives so much. They miss the for forever and ever until one day when they meet again in the afterlife, until them they honor their memory by living life to the fullest, helping clones however they can, some are even inspired by them so much they join the gar or become rebels during the war of the empire. Or maybe their friends help them desert. They pull some strings and forge some documents and bada bing bada boom you live with us now.
But in any case the clones are ceaselessly amazed by their friends. They absolutely borrow the friend that wears the same size clothes as them and they never give that shit back, not that their friend minds. Their vexed by their one friends glasses and they never pass up an opportunity to put them on. They love crashing at the friends place who has a claw foot bath tub at their apartment and they dive right into that thing. Sometimes they forget that clones don’t know certain things like pop culture and colloquial languages, common sense in the kitchen, why people have to have a different towel to dry their hair and their body with it just don’t make sense Janice, what the difference between dish soap and dish washer soap is, what the hell is an appetizer?, gauging how much food will feed 7 people because they make the bare minimum or way too much, the purpose of a salad fork??? no one understands that one except for culinary major friend. Once they were helping one of their friends watch their kid family member and at the moment no one was looking the kid put stickers and marker all over the chest piece of their armor and the friend is freaking out but the clone is like no no, I love it, and tweaked it a little with some armor paint to make it more battlefield appropriate. Just the clones having friends man, it’s the part of their lives that sometimes makes fighting in the war make sense. They’ve got people and places they can go to get away from it all.

Herb Guide to HRT for Warrior Cats
Have a warrior OC you would like to show being on hormone replacement medication? I’ve gone through herbs historically associated with femininity/masculinity, as well as those with effects on sex hormones, that a wild cat could hypothetically find and use.
Of course, this would still require a bit of a leap as there’s no herb in nature that can replace our friend Spironolactone... but if you’d like some herbs with a grain of truth or history to them that wouldn’t poison a semi-realistic cat? Here you go!
(DO NOT USE THESE HERBS ON YOURSELF OR A REAL ANIMAL.)
Let’s identify what we’re looking for;
Hormone suppressing herbs = antigonadotropins
Prevents production and recognition of present hormones. This is going to be big for an agender transition; but even in a binary one, they’re often taken with-
Hormone producing herbs = estrogen/estradiol & testosterone/androgens
Make sure your warrior doesn’t start on huge amounts! Smaller, controlled doses are more effective. Too much can cause the opposite effects and slow down transition.
Historical precedent = Just Cool
If I find a cool story I’m just going to include it, but note that it doesn’t hold pharmacological basis.
I considered also including some thoughts on surgical treatments as well, but I’ve decided I’ll save that for a follow-up. This guide is purely focused on medication to stay SFW!
Hormone Suppressants
Lycopus (also known as Wolf’s Foot, Water Horehound, Bugleweed) is such a widespread species and has several other medical uses. Not only is it THE most well documented antigonadotropin I came across, but its different species have a wide variety of medical use, including treating anxiety, heart palpitations, stopping bleeding, and respiratory illness. This is also a mint that is not toxic to cats. Also it can be used as a dye.
THERE IS A CAVEAT; if Lycopus supplements suddenly stop or overdosed, it can cause thyroid enlargement. Keep this in mind if your trans warrior ever gave up their medication to a sick clanmate in leafbare!
Lithospermum ruderale (Aka western Stoneseed or Lemonweed) has similar suppression properties, but only in American fanclans, and not as many secondary uses.
Comfrey ROOT can also be used for this purpose, in addition to its canonical uses (funfact this plant is also called knitbone). But can cause liver failure in high doses.
Rosemary suppresses feminine hormones in the uterus, for warriors going from Female to Male. Additionally, it’s an excellent antifungal, smells great, and can be used as a cooking spice.
Molly to Tom (Female to Male)
Pine Pollen (particularly from the Scots Pine), can be added to water or foods and increase testosterone.
Stinging Nettle ROOT could also be taken for a transmasc warrior. The above ground plant can be processed for use with allergies, but the relevant part here is the root underground, which has no stinging hairs.
Sarsparilla ROOT is historically associated with testosterone, though modern studies haven’t held up the claims... but, it is a plant an American clan would have access to, and is also used to make root beer.
Tom to Molly (Male to Female)
FENNEL?? AGAIN??? It’s true.
Through Fennel, all things are possible
It has estrogenic properties in all sexes and has been explored for the creation of synthetic estrogen since the 1930s. This can be used for a transgender warrior, as well as for a cisgender queen with a hormone issue. It must be remarked though; it looks alarmingly similar to poison hemlock, and should not be collected by untrained cats.
Hops (Humulus lupulus) is up next, but first I think this education is worthwhile; phytoestrogens aren’t exactly like true estrogens, but in high enough quantities (as in, much, much more than a plate of soybeans or a mug of beer) they can have estrogen-like affects.
Hops are the uncontested queen of these, and they grow wild in several continents. Hops can sometimes be toxic to cats, based on a genetic predisposition, and mostly to the ‘cone’ (female flower). For the best hormonal effect, the ‘flower‘ (male flower) would be dried and eaten.
Flax flowers don’t contain nearly as much phytoestrogen, but are safer for cats. Additionally, flax is extremely useful in construction, and can be used to make fabric or twine if your Clan is advanced enough.

As someone who engages a lot with fantasy/sci-fi/horror media, one of the worst tropes I see again and again is the "this entire group of people is inherently evil".
The fact that it's so easily accepted, particularly in DnD and related environments, is deeply unsettling, particularly because of how much of it stems from racism (and other "isms"). Beyond the horrible implications of this concept, it makes stories far less nuanced and interesting.
I much prefer stories where evil is something on a societal or individual basis rather than inherent, since it allows us to explore why this evil came about. Exploring how propaganda, tradition, dogma, ect., might shape a society is far more interesting than just going "they're all born evil".
This certainly is not limited to DnD, just as someone who runs modules to practice encounter balancing, and has run 5e for people used to the rigid alignment system of earlier editions, you get reminded of this quite a lot in that space. There's a bunch of people talking about New Phyrexia in similar contexts, and while I don't feel like I know enough about the story to toss my hat into the ring, I will always be an advocate for nuance. Particularly when a lack of nuance means that "this group is inherently evil" accidentally ends up demonizing aspects of a very real group of marginalized people (as it often does).
Again, much more informed people than I have talked about this subject at greater length. All I can say as someone who's been in the fantasy/sci-fi/horror space for pretty much all of my life, I feel like there's certain standards that we really shouldn't accept as such, since they really don't have to be. In most cases, stories are more interesting when nuance is involved.

the dr fandom cant handle wlw ships in any other context than background fluff with no depth
i like sakuraoi and tsumioda ect but they always get woobified and mellowed out like did they SEE 1-4???
aoi did not pull all that to get sidelined as a supportive background lesbian in your ishimondo fanfic
and don’t get me wrong. my girls need a break sometimes fluff is great i don’t have a problem with it. but it’s the constant sidelining of wlw ships in favour of het/mlm ships in pretty much any fandom that gets to me.
and how wlw ships are only acceptable in the community when they don’t have any dysfunction or toxicity, and if the ship does have even the slightest hint of the above qualities it is either mellowed out to the point of being unrecognisable or dumped on with thinly veiled misogyny and homophobia
and when i say slightest hint i mean the literally slightest hint. like the girls will argue once and the fandom will label the ship toxic while shipping. fucking kuzupeko or something.
wlw ships are seen almost entirely as a way to get female characters out of the way of mlm ships. in het ships the female character is a tool to develop the male character. they show significantly less depth and probably dies to forward the male character’s development (sound familiar?)
in any situation female characters are characterised by their relations to male characters. a female character’s (usually romantic, or at least interpreted as such) relationship with a male character is their defining characteristic. if said female character is in a wlw relationship they are reduced to their most basic traits while male characters are explored and given depth, and exist in the story only to offer support to the male characters.
i haven’t even mentioned how female characters must be in a relationship to be even remotely relevant in a story, but that’s a rant for another time.
grrah the way that female characters mirrors how wlw ships are treated by the community, and that characters/ships that aren’t completely perfect and deemed acceptable by the community are dumped on by the larger dr community while worse ships or characters are welcomed because they happen to contain a male character is gonna be my 13th reason istg.
anyways this rant is getting long but in summary danganronpa fans hate women and they hate wlw relationships that they can’t jerk off to.

Ty for answering my q! (Am the guy who asked about lgbt being common in ancient china etc) since lgbt is more of a western concept what would be a chinese equivalent for it? Like how is the chinese homosexuality different from the west? (Sorry if my wording is off im not exactly sure how else to phrase it 😭😭)
I'm just talking about the cultural differences that shape what it means to be queer across the globe. Modern LGBT+ discourse was led and shaped by western academics so theories of gender and sexuality are based largely on the that of white thinkers. Although it's true that English LGBT terminology and the relevant standardised definitions have spread and been translated globally, and that Western ideals of masculinity and femininity remain dominant overall, similar concepts can't be understood 1:1 across all cultures. And there certainly existed something else before Western influence.
Also, picture this: you are watching a TV show from the Song Dynasty. You notice some of the male characters are always wearing flowers on their head/in their headwear 👀. You, proficient in imagery and symbolism, think to yourself, "💅🏼?"
But little did you know that this was a men's fashion trend at the time, practiced by young and old, rich and poor, hardly the indicator of queerness!
What I mean is, when it comes to looking at history, especially history of different cultures, basically you have to remember that there is a different context/historical framework to what is queer, what is gendered masculine and feminine, what is homoerotic/sapphic (and "queerplatonic" as we'd understand some of these instances and relationships), what is sexual, etc. So going back to my comment in the previous ask, based on all this, I personally feel that bringing terms like LGBT to such conversations is not appropriate because it also brings with it a modern framework which is not productive to understanding history as having its own frame of references.
If that makes any goddamn sense lmao.
