Whoops. Looks like Bean ate a bad strawberry, huh? Well, good news is Law has a therapist/ psychiatrist on his ship now!
Devil Fruit: Em-Em Fruit (Empathy) Type: Paramecia
This fruit allows the user to touch another living thing and "Live their life" through the creatures/ persons eyes in the blink of an eye.
The user feels all pain, sickness, sadness, happiness, and experiences that the other has felt. Negative memories tend to seep out more that positive ones. Regardless how painful the experience, the user will not die.
This allows the user to TEMPORARILLY use the others knowledge, strength, or speed (About 1 minute) that the victim has gained through their experiences in life. It CAN NOT copy devil fruit abilities though this experience.
Repeated use of this ability can drive a person insane, not being able to discern their own memories from someone elses if used in quick secession. It has a numbing effect on the victim, making them docile for the duration of the users touch.
This fruit is best suited for beings that have high levels of empathy to get the best use of it's abilities.

One Piece: Fan Devil Fruit Ideas
I have been thinking about One Piece lately, and I thought I could try my hand at developing some ideas for unique Devil Fruits that can be used within the world of the series. Here are two of them.
The Shuwa-Shuwa No Mi [Fizz-Fizz Devil Fruit]
The Shuwa-Shuwa No Mi is a Paramecia class Devil Fruit that turns the consumer into a Fizzy-Human. Granting them unique attributes and abilities: being able to manipulate carbonation and emit carbonated gas from their body. However, the more the User uses their powers, the weaker their abilities become until they consume specific beverages or CO2 gas canisters to replenish their inner stockpile. The user can increase the intensity of the carbonation with sharp, quick motions. Just like how a bottle of pop becomes pressurised once it has been shaken up.
The Shuwa-Shuwa No Mi is a weaker version of the Gasu-Gasu No Mi [Gas-Gas Devil Fruit].
Here is a small collection of moves/applications a user of this Devil Fruit could use. [Feel free to add more that you think would fit with the theme of this particular Devil Fruit]
Fizzy-Jump: A sudden burst of carbonated air or fluid from the user's feet to make a sudden leap or shift in a direction.
Fizzy-Burst: A sudden blast of carbonated air or fluid from the user's hands, capable of blocking/deflecting projectiles from their bodies.
Fizzy-Punch: A punch that is enhanced by a burst of carbonated air or liquid exploding out from the user's elbow to increase the speed and power of the strike.
Fizzy-Rush: A larger, longer version of Fizzy-Punch. Great at rushing down an opponent or surprise attacks; however, the longer the user uses this technique; the weaker Fizzy-Rush becomes.
Fizzy-Cloud: The user releases a massive cloud of CO2 gas, blanketing an area. The user becomes uncarbonated for an hour after using this technique and needs to naturally build it back up.
Pop-Cannon: When the user shakes their arms before throwing an object, releasing an instant burst of carbonated gas to propel the object hard.
Pop-Rocker: The user forces all their carbonated energy onto their fist and releases it all into a single focused point. Causing a contained explosion. In this technique, just like Fizzy-Cloud, the user becomes uncarbonated for an hour in exchange for such a powerful move.
Pop-Off: A stronger variant of Fizzy-Burst. There is more carbonated pressure in this move and rather than blocking or deflecting, it is used as a means of forcing or throwing enemies away from the user. The user becomes temporarily weaker after having used this technique.
Pop-Jet: A stronger version of Fizzy-Jump. Pop-Jet is a mild form of sustained carbonated propulsion using gas or liquid to shoot oneself across a far distance. The user becomes temporarily weaker after having used this technique.
Super-Soda: A technique that allows the user to push their powers to the limit, giving them access to all of their abilities for three minutes. But as a result, the user is temporarily paralysed, decarbonated, and dehydrated as a result of stressing their body to such a degree. In this state of super carbonation; the user can ignore any of the negative drawbacks of the Devil Fruit. Excessive use of this powerful technique can, however, kill the use
The Abura-Abura No Mi [Grease-Grease or Oil-Oil Devil Fruit]
The Abura-Abura No Mi [Grease-Grease/Oil-Oil Devil Fruit] is a Logia Devil Fruit. The fruit turns the user into an Oily-Human. Through which, they are capable of taking on the qualities or emitting oil in various states or forms. The fruit also leaves the user with slick, damp skin, which makes the user slippery [but not to the same extent as the Sube-Sube No Mi]. The user has an extra weakness in addition to the standard weaknesses; being exposed to absorbent material, an exfoliator, acids, or chemical solvent. As well as the user being very easy to burn or set on fire
Here is a small collection of moves/applications a user of this Devil Fruit could use. [Feel free to add more that you think would fit with the theme of this particular Devil Fruit].
Oil-Spill: The user releases a thin wave of translucent oil on the ground to cause it to become slippery and dangerous for people to walk on.
Grease-Trap: The user releases a large burst of oil that congeals around the target.
Grease-Ball: The user coats their hands in thick, congealing oil on their hands. The user can fire these off at enemies or objects.
Grease-Ball Crunchy Style: The same as the prior technique but the user as harsh or sharp objects in the grease like glass, nails, splinters, rock, etc.
Oily-Step: The user releases bursts of oil from their feet to create unstable platforms on a liquid surface. An avenue the hero can take to avoid being submerged in water.
Oil-Press: The user compresses their body before firing themselves as a jet of oil through a tight gap or cluttered space.
Grease-Glug: The user fires strong bursts or whips of oil from their body. It's often used to disorientate an opponent or to deflect an incoming attack.
Oil-Land: The user creates a large congealed platform of fatty oil to avoid being pulled into massive bodies of liquid.
Oily-Kenpo: The user enhances the preternatural coating of Oil on their skin to mimic the agility and speed of the Sube-Sube No Mi. This technique prioritises constantly increasing speed and abusing your opponent's momentum.
Oil-Burner: A truly double-edged technique. The user raises their temperature so much that they can cause their oil or grease to catch fire. It's an unstable technique that puts the user at great risk due to how flammable they have become. The technique also dries out the user, leaving the user unable to use any of their techniques or natural Devil Fruit abilities for a period of time.

Fan fruit I made ages ago but don’t think I ever posted before (and that I can’t find the file for on procreate anymore [Estoy enfurecido. Voy a golpear Procreate] cause it’s apparently just gone???)
Asobi Asobi no Mi or Play-Play fruit
I thought of it to be like a playground or funhouse version of Bege’s Shiro Shiro no Mi. It had stuff like slides n ladders to climb around different rooms inside the user, random climbing platforms, activity stations, etc.
The body of the fruit is modeled off of the tall slide towers while the stem is based off of the swirling slides and monkey bars!

Probably the last art update for tonight, just a bit more cleaning up and detail done on Doffy's linework around the face/hair/neck/man-tiddies.
And I already love him he's so unhinged and pretty
Tumblr media
For those of you that have been here since before I rabbit-holed into Digital Art Land, I'm more than halfway through a headcanon thingy for Crocodaddy that falls in line with this whole ABC series thing I did when I first started Tumbling, so I'mma try to finish that tonight.
And to be honest I'm enjoying it way too much because I've always had a weird thing for the whole mafioso-type-character, and I'm feeling that trope heavily with Croc. As if my fan art wasn't enough of an indication of that. Low-key wanna see him roll up in Godfather-era NYC and effortlessly dominate at least two boroughs in ten minutes flat.

what are some of your favorite moments where sanji just gets screwed over (like the hgeegh bit)
I'm not sure if that's like. Getting screwed over so much as just being made fun of for saying silly things. That said I do think his bit where he just starts talking in wing dings (here) is incredibly funny and given the fact that it has been one of my most popular posts this month I think most of you can agree with that. I do in general think the zoro and sanji dynamic is incredibly funny even if I'm just skimming for sanjis I'll keep an eye out for them for a giggle.

Questions about One Piece Live Action:
1. How was Arlong able to restrain Buggy? Couldn't he chop chop his body to get the out of the ropes?
2. Couldn't Luffy's hands and wrists stretch to become thinner to get out of the restraints when Buggy was stretching him?

Devil Fruits & Celestial Dragons
Some manga spoilers, and this is just a hunch. Or fan theory, or whatever.
But one of the things that the Celestial Dragons are known to do is to give Devil Fruits to slaves - that they continue to target with their abuse. And why not? They have plenty of resources, and sea prism stone can be used to make the wild ones comply.
But Why, in the first place?
I think the answer might be key to understanding why it's important that the Nika Fruit has evaded their clutches for so long.
We know that Devil Fruits have lineage factor, and there seems to be something of a Will to them as well. Some, like the Nika fruit, seem to be connected directly to a person or personality of eons past. And they seem to carry, at least for a while, some record of previous users - like, for example, Ace's lingering impression on the Mera-Mera No Mi.
We also know that there's some forces in the world directly in rebellion to the world government / Celestial Dragons. Devil Fruits are regarded harshly by these, as well, though they are also obviously useful. Wasting them on a slave serves no purpose when they could be used to bolster one's forces.
Instead, I think that the Celestial Dragons give devil fruits to slaves that they subsequently abuse as a way of, potentially, abusing or torturing the lineage factor / personality within the devil fruits themselves. Subjecting those who eat them to humiliation and domination so that their fear and submission will be imprinted into the Devil Fruit, continuously over a long time, through the abuse of their wielders. This is what they tried to do with Boa Hancock and her sisters - and even if they escaped their deep feelings remained.
Feelings which, according to Vegapunk's latest research, DO get conveyed across lineage factor. Dramatically enough to shape the actions of characters whose only connection to one another is lineage factor. Revenge, and domination, are the two reasons the Celestial dragons openly torture Devil Fruit wielders, if they can.
This is why it's so important that the Nika fruit has evaded the World Government for so long.
Make no mistake: The conflict between Pirates and the Navy is a matter of Freedom vs. Order. But they conflict between good and evil will see pirates and navy both split, and, hopefully, see the darkness at the heart of the One Piece universe overthrown.

When Sanji reached the host’s podium, he was greeted with a beautiful sight. In front of him was maybe one of the prettiest women he had ever met. For a moment, he deliberated whether she was prettier than the redhead at table three, but he quickly settled for the fact that they were beautiful in a different way. The redhead was feisty and headstrong, whereas this lady appeared soft and kindhearted. She wore a white dress with a black top over it, black heels and stockings up until over her knees, a rapier with an ornate hilt at one side, a pouch on the other. Her brown hair fell in slight waves down to her shoulders, her lips were painted a rosy color and her large brown eyes were warm and inviting. Something about her tugged at the back of Sanji’s brain but he ignored it over the beating of his heart.
The moment she saw him, she took in a quick, panicked breath. Her posture went rigid, and her face turned pale with fear. Sanji looked at her worriedly, but the moment she locked eyes with him, she softened up again and her eyes came alight. Her perfectly shaped lips turned upwards into a smile. A smile that Sanji reciprocated.
“Table six,” the host told him.
“Table six,” Sanji echoed with a smirk. “Right this way, madam.”
He gestured down the stairs, putting a hand on her back as he led her. Immediately, a jolt went through her body, causing him to pull his hand back again.
“I feel like I know you from somewhere,” the girl said, looking right at him with a playful smile as she let the handrail guide her down the stairs. Was she… flirting with him? This was too good to be true!
“I don’t think so,” Sanji replied. “I don’t get around much and I’d remember a beauty like you.”
The girl’s smile widened. “No, I definitely know you. I’d recognize those blue eyes anywhere.”
The tug at the back of Sanji’s mind got stronger. He found himself studying her face even more closely now. They stepped off the staircase, onto the main dining floor. “I’m flattered. But blue eyes aren’t that rare,” he tried to defend himself.
“Oh, come on, Sanji, don’t play dumb with me,” she said, coming to a halt. She locked gazes with him as if trying to telepathically dig into his mind, making Sanji’s heart beat even faster, banging against his ribcage. To top it off, his brain was doing somersaults in his skull. “You have your mother’s eyes.”
Now, it was Sanji’s turn to gasp. Memories swept over him like a tidal wave at those words. Within the blink of an eye, he knew exactly who was standing in front of him. To think he hadn’t recognized her before… It had to be because he had suppressed everything so well.
“Cora?!” he breathed, staring at her as if she were a ghost. “I’m sorry, I didn’t- How?!”
“Well, what am I supposed to say?” she scoffed. “Last thing I know you were-“
“Can we discuss this in private?” he quickly cut in. “Short story now, long story after dinner?”
“Sounds nice. You’ll be cooking for me, won’t you?”
“I’d love to, but the old man banned me from the line,” Sanji chuckled. “Doesn’t mean I can’t find a way to sneak you some dessert.”

Zoro looked around the restaurant. It was a fancy place, he had to hand them that. Most of the guests were wearing suits or dresses to match the establishment and the others had probably bought or otherwise forced their way in.
“You think any of the big names come here?” he asked, throwing a glance at Nami, Usopp and Luffy. Luffy, who had cleared the plate of buns the waiter had brought within seconds and was now happily sipping his milk.
“Who, like Beppy?” Luffy threw back.
“No, the really big ones. Warlords, people like that.”
“Could be,” Nami murmured. “Usopp, you looked at the reservation book, right? Any names you recognized?”
“Nah, I didn’t really read it,” Usopp shrugged, beer bottle at his lips. Then, he put it down. “But there was one name that was marked. Akaito, I think.”
“Akaito?” Nami echoed, a sudden spark in her eyes and voice.
“Why does that sound familiar?” Zoro mumbled. Ever since the Kuro situation, he had told himself he was going to be extra careful with anything he recognized.
“Because it was on the tag of the shirt I gave you at Kaya’s,” Nami declared. “The Akaito Clan. Does that ring a bell?”
“No,” Luffy said, wide eyes on Nami. “Who are they? Some assassins’ guild?”
“No! Didn’t you listen to what I just said about the shirt tag?” Nami readjusted herself in her seat, leaning slightly forwards. Usopp and Luffy followed her head, huddling closer together. Zoro, however, stayed in place. This was just silly. “The Akaito Clan used to be a famous and influential tailor family. They were known for the superior quality of their clothing and the fact that each of their pieces was unique. Even if they made a uniform for any organization, they made sure it was customizable and each set came embroidered with the name of the person that would be wearing it. Everything was hand-stitched and custom-made with exact measurements. They made clothes for royalty, for commoners, for Marines, for pirates – they say Gold Roger’s famous coat was made by an Akaito tailor.”
“Wow,” Luffy gasped. “I wanna meet one of them, maybe they can make something for me!”
“Well, here’s the problem,” Nami continued. “About fifteen years ago, they all vanished without a trace. Completely wiped out. People went looking for them all over the world, but, from one day to the next, it was like they had never existed in the first place. Their hometown in the North Blue was completely burned down and all of their ships were nowhere to be found. Starting that day, their fame skyrocketed even further, and their products exploded in worth. – That shirt you wore, Zoro, was probably worth a fortune. You should’ve taken it.”
“Maybe I should’ve,” Zoro murmured. That still didn’t fully explain why he recognized the name. There was something else to it.
“Of course, since then, people have been trying to sell knockoffs of the real Akaito works and some people even dared to adopt the Akaito name, but they were always revealed to be fakes because they couldn’t pass the test.”
“What test?” Usopp asked.
“What,” Nami chuckled, “were you gonna try and get into the business? Can you even sew?”
“Of course, I can! The Great Captain Usopp is a man of many talents.”
“Whatever you say,” Nami scoffed. “You can tell a true Akaito by two things. First of all, they have a sewing needle pierced through their left ear. Second of all, and that’s the important part, they can accurately tell a person’s measurements just by looking at them. Every. Single. Time.”
That was when Zoro remembered just why he knew the name. “I heard they dye their fabric with blood,” he mumbled. “One of them at least, she’s been going around the East Blue.”
“Woah,” Luffy murmured, exchanging glances with Usopp. “That’s creepy.”
Nami just shook her head. “Remember what I said about their fame getting out of hand after they disappeared? That’s how you end up with rumors like that. If there’s even an Akaito still alive, they definitely don’t do things like that. Also: I’m pretty sure that’s not how blood or dye works.”
Zoro just turned away and took another swig of his beer. Maybe Nami was right, but if there was a chance that this Akaito girl was really all the rumors made her out to be, he wanted to meet her – and fight her. That was when he spotted that dumb waiter in his suit again.
“Hey, Nami, your boyfriend’s cheating on you.”
The waiter was walking beside a young, brown-haired woman, a bottle of champagne and two glasses in hand, both of them smiling brightly. He led her to one of the smaller tables and pulled her chair back for her before pouring her a glass of the golden liquid.
“He’s not my boyfriend,” Nami retorted, “and he can flirt with whoever he wants. If she’s stupid enough to fall for him, good for them.”
The waiter continued to pour a second glass and momentarily sat down opposite the girl, unbuttoning his blazer. He picked up the glass as she mirrored him, the two glasses inaudibly clicking together in a toast.
“I guess,” Zoro grumbled, returning to his beer.

Devil fruits are meta if you think about it
Crackpot theory time!!!
So today I was daydreaming about a fanfic I read while paying my bills (Like an average person) and remembered how it described the X-gene could give mutant powers in Marvel (I swear this will make sense).
In short, the X-gene works like eldritch magic (The Dr. Strange thingy), by basically pulling energy from a random dimension of the multiverse, the human body will proceed to evolve accordingly and maybe get you superpowers and mutant traits (I guess this is how spiderman kinda works as well? don't quote me on that).
Thus, as long as long as you can imagine a superpower, it will exist due to parallel universes being infinite in possibilities. Cool right?
AND THEN IT HIT ME
Tumblr media
Vegapunk describes Devil fruits as possible evolutions of humankind being brought by desire (the whole possible/parallel universe/future is kinda similar and my brain made the connection there)
BUT, we can see that with GEAR 5, the superpowers can be a lot more meta in nature, by literally making the reader smile with its silliness :D
Tumblr media
So this got me thinking, devil fruits are a manifestation of desire/dreams/wishes right?
In-universe it sounds a bit goofy, one piece kind of goofy though, that, by literally wishing for something to exist, it will manifest itself through sheer willpower (Haki and other shit tends to work like that in this universe, like people becoming more beautiful if they follow their dreams and that stuff)
But from a 'meta' perspective, doesn't this literally mean that any power could manifest itself because it is a shonen manga? that as long as SOMEONE could imagine it, it could become reality by being written in?
If one smoked enough crack, they could even argue that devil fruits have a will of their own because they are being written in with some purpose by the author.
Like, by that logic, of course, Doflamingo got the fruit that let him cage a whole country and control people remotely, its power is literally part of his whole theme as a character and douche bag manipulator!!!
Anyways thank you for coming to my ted talk, I'm gonna proceed to scream into a pillow for a few minutes and then become normal again.
