Time zone - ish/my headcanon for the time: Julieta and Augustín married, then had two of their three kids, Pepa and Félix had Dolores and got pregnant with Camilo while on their honeymoon, soooo yeah I think that makes sense??

Julieta's lips turned up in a smile, little to Bruno's knowledge. Wrapped in a deep brown blanket, she stood in the doorway to the kitchen, watching him scramble about trying to put breakfast on the table. Julieta'd been sick for a couple days now, Augustín too, and Pepa was off with Félix on their honeymoon, so Bruno has stepped up to watch the kids for the time-being. Bruno shook his head to himself, some unheard thought leaving him a little more disheveled as he moved about the kitchen, smoke blowing from the stove to the open window as strings of curses flew from his mouth. You could hear Augustín cough from upstairs, and Bruno muttered under his breath.

It was only 4:28 in the morning, Julieta thought, but then as she watched her brother scramble, burning the food, she thought he might still need more time. She moved quietly to behind him, one hand holding the blanket closed around her shoulders, the other to grip his shoulder. He turned around swiftly, you could see flour and milk on his face, some grains of sugar in his beard as a sigh left his mouth.

"Oh, Julie, I don't know how you do it" he said, not quite a complaint as his words were dowsed in sympathy. She let out a small cough into her elbow, then moved away to wash her hands, leaving the man to his work.

"The patata's are burning, Brunito" the words were hushed, and Bruno groaned again as he went to grab a towel to blow away the smoke.

Julieta met Dolores on the stairs, followed by Luisa, who looked nervously to Isabela's door.

"Kids, kids, it's only 4. Go back to bed."

" Why's Bruno up, tía Julieta? " Dolores asked quietly, her hair down from its usual bun, and her eyes had small circles. Whenever anyone was sick in the casa Madrigal, Dolores could only stay up, miserable with them as all she could her was the coughing, the noises blowing, and puking if it was bad. Luisa looked a little more composed, a small bruise forming on her cheek though, assumingly from being hit by a flower when she tried to wake Isabela up early.

"Making you little rascals some breakfast. When he's done, I expect enthusiastic 'thank you's and for you all to eat it, even if it's bad" Julieta whispered the last part, ushering the kids upstairs and back into their beds. Luisa looked tiredly back to the stairs as she opened the door to her room.

"Tío Bruno should get some sleep too, mom. He looks so tired" She spoke through a yawn. "I know how to make toast, Isabela likes toast"

"Does Bruno like toast?" Dolores asked again, somehow even more awake as Julieta tried to herd them both to their rooms. The sun wasn't even up yet.

"With butter, sugar, and cinnamon on it" Julieta smiled at the memory, oh, how she hated cinnamon, but her little brother loved it.

"I think I can like toast for a morning" Dolores said again, and Luisa smiled hugely.

"You're right girls, let's give poor Brunito a break, tomorrow. It's far too early for a four year old and a seven year old to be up right now."
