CURSES OF THE FOUR LORDS

To begin, all inhabitants of Alagadda are cursed in vastly different ways, from the most mundane citizen to the Masters of the Labyrinth, to the Lords and the King himself. The twisted magic that created the realm took its toll on anyone unfortunate enough to be resurrected within its bounds. This being said, for the sake of this post, I'm just going to address the curses specific to each of the four lords.

To start on Albedo's curse, one must first touch on the role Albedo plays within Alagadda, cause, at least with how I view him, his role is very much both the figurehead for Alagadda's scientific research in the form of its alchemists, but it's religious voice as well. I know, by all means, that that must sound ridiculous, given how often science and religions are held as opposites, but in this case, they are synonymous in the darkest sort of way. Albedo is the sort of science that pokes and prods at the darkness that is better left alone. The type that trifles in matters and conjures forces no man should lay their hands on. They honestly deserve an entire post of their own. However, to put it succinctly, Albedo represents a sort of dark enlightenment that is both spiritual and scientific. They are the embodiment of man making themselves godlike; conjuring and shaping darkness to its will to gift themselves 'enlightenment' but still remaining just as rotten to their cores.

And likewise, as a result of this, Albedo finds themselves ascending in a mental and physical sense. They are in touch with matters and magics beyond the realm that Alagadda inhabits- but such enlightenment isn't all that it is chalked up to be. Rather its the exact opposite, and the subject of their divine punishment. Albedo trifles in matters that are beyond man for good reason; however, in their reckless, self-indulgence search for enlightenment and purity at the cost of all around them, they have sacrificed themselves to the void. Their physical form is constantly flickering between different realms of existence; they are enlightened but ultimately alone and prevented from progressing their research much further, as they are barely able to find themselves physically present in their home reality. Instead, phasing in and out and transporting away at ultimately random intervals for an undetermined length of time.

Now, Citrinitas’s curse is far more difficult to touch on, mostly as it comes in two parts, the first being in Citrinitas’s mind. You see, it is a cruel irony the fate that has befallen him, in life, prior to Alagadda Citrinitas had been a key advisor to the king. He had been a minor lord of olde, who for better or worse had felt a sort of attachment to the king, as he had watched him grow, watched him be married, watched him inherit, although it was foolish, the Citrinitas of old saw the king as a sort of son— to he was blinded, even as his reign grew crueler and crueler. But after his death and his resurrection, Citrinitas seemed to have lost his mind. Where he was once a wisened old man, filled with knowledge and sincerity of time past, now stood a mad man. His mind became just as twisted and senseless as Alagadda itself, if I had to compare him to anything I would compare him to the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland. He isn’t blubbering in the typical sense, his poise and his personality and his cruelty still ring true, and he is able to speak and conduct himself, but his words and his mind just seem to be on a completely different playing field. In life, you see, he was wise but allowed himself to be blinded by his fondness and his love for a man who viewed him as nothing more than a pawn, but now in death, Citrinitas will not have the fortune of such wisdom to call on. It has been confiscated, the punishment for letting it be blinded by his fondness and now his spirit shall be left weeping over itself for the mad man he has become.

Whereas the second half of Citrinitas’s curse is intertwined both with his apparent madness, as well as with the sun that he represents and the outward destruction of Rubedo’s curse. You see, Citrinitas has what I would like to call destructive emotions, though they are never able to touch himself, his often outbursts of anger, of frustration, even sadness or joy result in powerful bursts of bright hot energy around him, cracking the floor and walls around him, burning those nearby and sending anyone unfortunate enough to be next to him flying. It’s sort of funny in a sense, where once upon a time Cirtrinitas was a beacon of strength for the kings court and even tempered wisdom, now in his place stands the mad man with the odious mask!

Now, I won't go into Nigredo / 035's curse in too much detail as we all know what it is: his decay. So I'll skip over him into Rubedo.

Rubedo's curse is similar to Nigredo's in the sense that it is destructive in an absolute sense.

However, unlike 035's all-encompassing rot and decay, twisting all around him into blackened husks of himself a permanent and sobering reminder that no matter how much his ambition allows him to conquer and claim, it will all be for nothing because that joy will turn to ash and all of his ill-gotten gains back into the caustic sludge as corrupt and dark as himself and all of his efforts will inevitably be for nothing as he is thrown back to square one surrounded by nothing but his decay and his failure.

Rubedo's curse is strangely, but understandably far more constrained to himself, a fitting form of a curse for a self-involved man like himself. You see, Rubedo is a forever wanting, grasping man; but he isn't ambitious in the overarching world-conquering sense that 035 is. Instead, Rubedo's constant hunger and his desire are more concentrated on debauchery. He's satisfied where he is, whereas 035 has the desire to elevate himself higher and higher cosmically. Rubedo is satisfied in his position as a lord over the nightmare that is Alagadda. He can see and understand that he has everything he can ever want in that position, so instead, he focuses on indulging himself, in feeding his sadism, his lust, his desire for hunt and hardship and for conquest, his hunger for good food and wine and everything else under the sun. But this is where his curse comes into play; for him, the nightmare is a dream because everything he could ever want is within reach, but his curse makes it so that while it is in grasp, it is never graspable.

Rubedo's curse is a Midas touch of sorts; whenever he reaches for one of his desires, be it with hand or foot or mouth, it will warp and transmutate, becoming a perversion of his indulgences that no being, not even one as twisted as he can find delight in. When he touches the flesh of another person, not afflicted like him, they are doomed to die on contact, all of the blood in their body turning instantly to fine, vintage wine. When Rubedo goes to drink anything, from the stiffest ale to the sweetest wine, the instant the glass is held aloft in his hand, it transmutes, transforming the drink into undrinkable liquid gold, and the same is true for any food he'll try to eat. And, should he try to grasp any gold or treasures? Any riches that enter his grasp will rot before his eyes, going from value to nothing more than rotting food. Of course, being a being as old as he, he has learned to nullify the unfortunate reality of his condition through the use of thick leather gloves brought in from lands beyond Alagadda. However, the instant these gloves are removed, the curse rings true and he will be left to forever want but never have, a fitting punishment.

Thinking of when the terfs found a friend’s post.

The only way they could have found his post was if the ringleader, mx opabinawillreturn themself, was deliberately searching for it. It wasn’t even tagged with anything! Literally the word “Queer” was in the post.

I actually sent them an ask going “bro what is your deal?” And they were like “I’m calling out homophobia! 😇” Never mind the fact that it was a rant made for those “in the know” (i wasnt tbh) and wasnt designed to go beyond my friend’s immediate circle.

How is referring to the queer community homophobic? How is deliberately picking a fight “calling out homophobia?” How does bickering over terminology, that by the way is used in academia, not also homophobic?

This is why no one takes us (the queer community, lgbt, mogai whatever) cant take us seriously. We’re tearing each other apart for no fucking reason.

Infinite Headcannons

This is only the third post I ever posted on this site.

I love this jackal so much that I decided to make an entire post dedicated to some of my headcannons of him.

-Infinite's illusions are sometimes tuned into how he's feeling. If Infinite is feeling normal then he has more control over his illusions then when he is emotional. For example, when Infinite becomes angry his illusions grow more stronger.

-But why did Infinite even want the Ruby in the first place?

The easy answer is that he wanted power, but why the Phantom Ruby corrupted him had mostly to do with the fact that the Ruby is completely unstable and courrupted other people before him or it's the fact that Infinite tried to comprehend something that nobody else could comprehend. And once he actually did, his mind was open to the Phantom Ruby's control. Infinite KNEW the risks, but he was willing to take them for power.

-He could literally rewrite reality and there could be nobody to stop him from doing so, but for now he uses the Ruby on his own terms with Eggman.

-My personal headcannon for Infinite's past is much more complex than the "oh Shadow beat me up and now I'm evil" backstory that Forces gave us, but I will wait to post that for another time.

I wish some aces would stop excluding other aces with complex sexual experiences. like I get why but you have to realize that being ace does not mean they don't enjoy sexual experiences and it's weird when you complain about allo people and boil it down to "people who have sexual experiences" and also shame people for their sex life and kinks as if your own community doesnt INCLUDE those people. because there are other aces out there who still masturbate, who feel sexually attracted to their own body, who barely experiences sexual attraction but still enjoys sex, who like consuming sexual media, who like sfw kink. being ace is so so much more complex than just "disliking sex". and also aromantic exclusionism in the same genre of posts is something i see a lot. especially aro allos. I ALMOST FORGOT BUT RUBEDO’S ROLE IN ALAGADDA!

Okay, on the surface his first job within Alagadda is to tend to its citizens. Seems noble enough- except, not tending to the citizens through conventional means. See, to become a citizen of Alagadda, it means to succumb to the madness of the realm and letting it both twist and corrupt you in mind and soul- becoming one of the dead that walk the city with porcelain skin.

But, obviously, not everyone succumbs to these effects quickly or easily, and it’s Rubedo’s job in this case to slowly coerce them and to ease their nerves and walk them into the madness until they become one with it.

It’s his job to sweet-talk the citizens, to make himself seem like their friend, their ally or even a suitor or lover. Whatever it takes to let the madness take hold.

In terms of an Alchemic comparison of their roles, Rubedo is, in this case, the literal metal that has transformed into gold luring these people in. He is the promise of great things to them, of knowledge, of celebration, of riches and lust or even love. Whatever they want, he will embody that carrot on a stick and lead them into the madness of the realm like the pied piper. That is his primary role, to be the gold that tempts.

And usually Rubedo does this through the parades, the orgies, the brothels and bars and, of course, often being the first masked face the unfortunate souls meet when they enter.

Additionally, Rubedo has also adopted the role of 035. Which is or rather was, to spark loyalty and devotion within the maddened citizens to the city and to the kingdom and its king, to regain their trust and to prevent anyone from waking up from the madness and trying to escape from the grasp of city and it’s delights and realizing what hell they’ve gotten themselves in!

To go back to the Alchemic comparison, this role was initially 035’s as it was going straight back to the beginning of the process, 035, being the blackening stage, represented the initial transformation. The first steps, the first proof in fact that the process was achievable. In this sense, it was his role to feed back into the delusions of the mad, to reassure of their role in their realm and that they weren’t in hell, but rather heaven, that the process has meaning, and handing them back over to Rubedo to fall deep into the trance again.

However since 035 was exiled after the failed assassination, Rubedo has taken over this duty, and really, he’s not half bad at it! Sure he may not be as great as 035 before him, but he gets results.

But beyond this, Rubedo has a third and even a fourth, more secret job.

You see, even though Rubedo will scapegoat the Yellow Lord, asserting that the big bad of the militarized and policed aspects of Alagadda are all to his responsibility and command.

Truth of the matter is that he and he alone is the military might of Alagadda, and you’d think with this that he would be fighting enemies of the city and the kingdom, but no, what Rubedo does is that he wages invasions against other realms with only one goal in mind: to kidnap people.

See he and his forces don’t kill those who they attack, they just capture everyone they physically can and throw them back into Alagadda so they go more mad and become more citizens.

The goal isn’t gathering land or defending honor or to ensure a lack of enemies, THAT is the Ambassador’s job. No, no, Rubedo’s role is in gathering and kidnapping people and tossing them into the realm because Alagadda cannot create citizens of its own. It is a city of only death and rebirth, no life, no innocence, no growth. And it NEEDS to bring in more souls and to trap them in order to grow more might, to become more powerful, to expand and to steal more souls.

Unfortunately though, not many recognize that this is and always has been the goal of Alagadda’s might and invasions, to capture more people, to gain more citizens and grow through them. So where many organizations and individuals, such as the Wandsmen and the Foundation. Will view the pushing back of Alagadda’s forces so they can’t take land as a victory.

Truth is, it’s not, they’ve already succeeded their true goal, they only want people, adult people. And the painting of Rubedo as inept and a failure in this respect only does him more favours by allowing his victims and prey to underestimate his technique before it strikes.

Beyond that, however, Rubedo is also a sort of PR team for Alagadda. Whereas it is the duty of the Ambassador to parley with other realms to achieve possible pacts and mutually beneficial agreements on a grand scale rather than trivial matters of tourism. It is Rubedo who encourages the like of MC&D and invites beings of the outside world to enter Alagadda and to hopefully use it in the hopes that the income of more people will have further emboldening effects through increased trade and patronage!

Sonic Forces Rewrite:The Phantom Ruby

Guess who's back for more Sonic headcannons that nobody even asked for, that's right it's me and today we are diving into my very own lore behind the Phantom Ruby

-The Phantom Ruby in the Rewrite lore is a ancient gem that mostly corrupts people's powers and twists their desires. It just magically popped into existence one day (bear with me here).

-Some ancient civilizations wanted to use the Ruby for many reasons, yet unfortunately it caused mayhem and courrupted people in it's wake. Only someone with complete control and a thirst for power can completely use the Phantom Ruby (gee I wonder who THAT could be).

-The Ruby can sometimes cause the user to astral project or use it to go inside dreams. The user could even manifest their desires into the real world, if they think hard and long enough.

-Apparently the Ruby became a legend in various communities due to the absolute power it holds, and of course as Infinite grew into a teenager, he became more obsessed with it.

-After Infinite got courrupted by the Ruby, he found that his illusion abilities were even more powerful. So of course like every Sonic villan, he wreaks havoc with it. Sometimes he even uses the Ruby to tease Sonic.

-But that doesn't help the fact that Sonic pulls a uno reverse card and teases Infinite as well, even though the two are basically the whole "enemies to lovers" troupe (why does Sonic ask Infinite if he likes long romantic walks on the beach then?)

-Infinite could also use the Ruby (if it has enough power or something) to literally DESTROY THE FABRIC OF REALITY but that's a suprise tool that can help him later!

I tried my best to keep the match-ups even, but not too painful, but well, when the list is entirely mad of bad bitches, there's gonna be a bloodbath or two.
