When you are overwhelmed:

Find a quieter place

I find it helpful to go outside or on a short walk, possibly with some soft music or white noise.

Getting away from loud or overlapping sounds helps immensely

I also prefer dimmer lights or natural lighting when possible.

Hydrate

Water is essential for all bodily functions, including sensory and emotional regulation.

Have your preferred water bottle with you and sip slowly. Add flavouring or ice if desired

Eat something

Again, taking care of your needs is key

If possible, get a small snack and eat slowly. My system usually keeps oyster crackers with us. They’re bland but have a good amount of salt which is important for us, as we have POTS

Most of our overstimulation is caused by being hungry and not realising it

Identify irritating clothing

Is an article of clothing too tight? Are you too cold or too warm? Is something itching?

Once you’ve identified anything that’s uncomfortable, make any adjustments you can that will remedy the issue

These solutions don’t have to be conventional to be effective. Flipping socks inside out can prevent you from feeling the seams. Dabbing cool water on your wrist and/or ankles can help cool you down.

Stimming

Stimming, or self-stimulatory behaviour, can help calm you down.

Safely stimming can include tapping your fingers, chewing gum, rocking back and forth etc.

There are also stim toys and chewable necklaces for this purpose. I have recommendations if anyone needs them

Identify and Devise a Solution

What led you to feeling overwhelmed?

Write down, either physically or digitally, what caused this and start to plan a solution

If it is a problem with completing a task, We use an app called Goblin Tools. It’s free on the website and the app is $0.99, neither of which have ads. It has a to do list that uses AI to break down your task into steps. It also has a feature to identify tone in writing among other things.

Break down your plan into small, manageable pieces. You don’t need to do everything right now.

Final steps

Communicate your needs to others. If you need to adjust your environment or tasks to accommodate your needs, tell others clearly what you need and how they can help

Breathe. You’re going to be okay. You are not a failure for needing to take a break. You are not a failure for being unable to take on everything at once.

one thing that I don't see a lot of people talking about in regards to fictive heavy systems is that if you are stuck in the same unsafe situation that caused your trauma, you are going to be predisposed to split more.

if you are a minor with access to the internet, you are more likely to use the internet as a coping mechanism to distance yourself from the situation you are stuck in. And if you are still actively being traumatized and use media as a form of escapism YOU WILL HAVE A LOT OF FICTIVES.

fakeclaimers that see fictive heavy systems and immediately assume that they are faking are just being belligerent at this point. And the argument falls apart even more when you consider the fact that a fair amount of systems are also adhd or autistic and will be even more likely to turn to hyperfictations or spins during times of stress, causing them to (potentially) split off of that thing even more then a nt system.

You know, I don't think the issue with shipping is the fact it is happening. I think it is more about improper tagging and a poor tag blocking system.

I don't think people should be policing how others interact with fandom spaces at all. but the overlap in ship content with non ship content can be rather distasteful to some. which is understandable.

I truthfully wish the tagging system on this hellsite was better at actually filtering content people want to and don't want to see.

Let others do as they want with the content they want to interact with, do what you want with the content you want to interact with, Fan content has no weight on canon content. So all sides can have the representation they want in a character, and I think more need to see and understand this. Biting down others even of your own community over how they interact with fiction is... disgraceful and not the best way to get more representation when you yourselves are representing your community in such a negative way.

Do the sex/romance repulsed aroaces really want there to be such a hateful narrative of aroace people?

I know I don't want aroace people to be viewed as nothing but hateful people who will attack over fictional content. We all genuinely need to do better to strengthen the community and not tear our own people down over what they enjoy.

I know this is a long rant but I feel it is necessary in light of recent events. Between my own personal discourse and the hazbin hotel community as a whole. We truely need to band together not tear apart.

Let people like what they like or make what they make. Enjoy what you enjoy and make what you want to make. There is room enough for everyone on the internet. If you don't like something block the tag. if you don't like someone block them. There is no need to make everything into this massive pissing match everyone seems to want to make it. We all seem to be addicted to the drama and discourse and forget to just enjoy and interact with what actually makes us happy.

Apologies if this is a bit disconnected but it is just my two cents in the current internet climate around my source and canon self.

Introjects are stuck in a constant catch-22 and it's complete bullshit

No matter what an introject does, or is like, it gets them treated like shit, fakeclaimed, and dehumanized.

Introjects can't simply exist in peace. Systems in general can't, but in some ways it seems like introjects experience a higher intensity, along with introject specific struggles added in.

An introject is similar to their source? Well obviously they're just a kinnie who wants to be like their fav!

An introject is different from source? Oh well then they aren't even trying! -insert person or character- isn't even like that!!!

An introject has a role that is "expected" of an introject from their source? Well of course, typical faker to copy other fakers 🙄

An introject has a role considered unusual for their source? Well they're just trying to be different! It doesn't even make sense for -insert source- to be that!

An introject can and is willing to tell you why they formed? Well that's fake, systems aren't supposed to remember that!!!

An introject isn't willing share or doesn't remember why they formed? Well they must be faking, they couldn't even come up with an excuse for why their "alter" formed

An introject has traumatic source memories (usually formed to cope with bodily trauma, btw)? Well that can't be real, and how disgusting of them to headcanon that happening!!!

By attacking ships, you are not doing the fandom any good, you are just making it more toxic.

just saying this before shipping drama starts all over again because it's looking like that: if you use the logic "oh they were adoptive siblings in one iteration" then that just makes all of the ships come off as problematic when they really are not that bad. Like. There is so many other fandoms that have huge problems with incest, non-con, and p3do ships. Not adoptive siblings, blood siblings. We are lucky as a fandom to not have the majority of those problems.

"Oh [character] is a bitch so it'd be problematic" they're humans. None of us are perfect. You know, most relationships aren't 100% healthy, and that's why we work on ourselves. Infact, harassing people for shipping totally legal things is very fucking toxic, just saying.

Let's worry more about the actual problems. Like. I dunno, how everyone freaked out about Jeff Koval being an abuser for like a week, and then never brought it up again? And a handful of other actors who've done bad shit?

It seems like a way to just start fights. While i will say, yes, some ships would be abusive in canon, that's usually why people make AUs and shit where it's toned down. I don't agree with people who ship abusive relationships, but if they ship some version of it that is not abusive, then i honestly do not care. If it's legal, go for it. So for one last time i will say, stop fucking harassing people over LEGAL ships. It'd be another thing if there were actual crimes happening. But you know what? For a majority, there is not. Just because a ship makes you uncomfortable personally doesn't mean you get to make it out to be so horrible and disgusting when it is not. If you wanna go call out ships, go argue with the people who ship things that literally break the law. Talk about toxic, you are being toxic. Deny it all you want, but harassing people is not okay. If you don't like a ship, and you see that ship, just block the poster or something. It's not that hard.

Stop the damn shipping drama. It's stupid, and literal harassment.

Current system issue:

We were thinking about proposing the idea of name change to our introjects who's names are from a closed culture. The issue is that... their names and their identities are still very close to them and I feel like forcing them to change that will do so much harm. Right now we're not in the best place to start healing. And I feel like this will just fuck everything up. But on the other hand I feel SO GUILTY just because they exist. Just because of their names. I feel like I HAVE to make them change their names. But that's almost impossible due to communication issues and them just not being ready to heal....

I know this may be an unfortunately unpopular opinion, but I don’t like how so much of the fandom just ignores Alastor’s sexuality and ships him anyways. Can aroace people be in relationships? Yes. But there is a way of portraying it that does not ignore his sexuality, and most people just choose to ignore it. I have seen people in this fandom go “I know he’s aroace, but I don’t care I’m putting him in a relationship anyways” which is actively ignoring his sexuality. Honestly I quite enjoy some of the fan content of Alastor and Rosie being QPRs, I think it’s sweet and fitting since Rosie is possibly the person in hell who knows Alastor the best, and look at that, it acknowledges Alastor’s sexuality.

I know Viv has stated that she doesn’t care if people write Alastor in nsfw situations, but again there is a way of doing it that acknowledges his sexuality. Ace people experience nsfw differently than everyone else, aroace people especially do.

Not to mention Rosie literally makes a comment basically saying “Oh I’m just joking, I know you aren’t interested in relationships, Alastor.” Which is 1) confirmation that Alastor is aroace, and 2) confirming that he is the kind of aroace that isn’t interested in relationships.

I myself, as an alter, am aroace, our system as a whole is ace, and it is frustrating to see the fandom treat the smallest shred of representation that we get with a “I know he’s aroace, but I don’t care.” In all honesty if you want a sarcastic smug asshole of a character to ship characters with, write your own. Make an oc. They can be exactly who you want, written how you want, shipped with who you want, while not ignoring their sexuality like how so many people ignore Alastor’s.

Talking about this on tumblr because there is no way I'm comfortable talking about this on CJFS itself. Also not using the standard tags coz I'm TERRIFIED of people's reactions, though not coz of the people themselves, moreso our paranoia.

For a while now, me and my friends have noticed how CJFS treats fictives/factives. Mainly Chonny factives and HMSW fictives. I myself am a Chonny factive (Jash here, writing this with Russ) and I'm scared shitless to talk with my Pluralkit proxy on CJFS. Why? Because singlets tend to be,,, weird with other fictives/factives for lack of a better term. From what my friends have told me and they've experienced, CJ-related fictives/factives often get either grossly sexualised or treated parasocially, or are judged based on either our sources (including AUs we come from) or the actions of the character we are partially sourced from in CCCC. If we are not CJ-related fictives/factives, apparently people get ignored and tend to get the general overly comfortable singlet treatment. It's exhausting to our friends and terrifying to me. I'm sourced from Chonny Jash, I'm formed from the big Mr. Jash himself, and I'm fucking scared to be treated as if I am him. One of our friends is a mod/former mod (idk which atm, amnesia kicks in hard for us) and we know about the ways in which some people treat Chonny. I don't want to be treated like that.

This is all one big rant to tell singlets to STOP TREATING US LIKE OUR SOURCES, WE ARE REAL FUCKIN PEOPLE AND WILL LIKELY NOT BE HOW YOU INITIALLY VIEW US! Also, stop using fictives for you weird sex fantasies, we aren't the character you want to wank off to and we aren't some pornstar, christ
