Fire Erupts From a Gigantic Fantastical Dragon-Horse Designed and Operated by La Machine
The street theater group known as La Machine revived one of its legendary beasts for an ongoing show in Toulouse. “Long Ma,” an enormous dragon-horse hybrid weighing 45 tons and standing 11 meters tall, was originally unleashed in Beijing in 2014 and now joins a minotaur and gigantic spider for an ongoing exhibition at La Halle in the French city.
occasionally I'll hear someone talk about the fact that pokeballs cost 200 pokedollars and are therefore insanely expensive in-universe, but I feel like that overlooks the fact that these are Japanese games, and pokedollars are probably equivalent to yen. if anything, I think we need to talk more about how a magic ball that allows you to capture and befriend a creature with superpowers costs about $1.25 USD
you know when i rewatch merlin all i can think is how hilarious it would've been to have merlin keep aithusa. like could you imagine after he hatched her she starts just following him around, he tries to lose her on his way back to the castle and fails, so now he has to protect this baby from being seen as he sneaks into his and gaius's chambers
THEN he has to sneak past a sleeping gaius and somehow get aithusa to stay put in his room all day (it doesn't work she follows him out to the castle)
now merlin has to convince everyone this is some new cool lizard he found and NOT a dragon...and also come up with a good reason why this cool lizard is following him around like a duckling. and why it just climbed his arm and is hugging him for dear life
"I'm sorry I hurt your neck."
"It is fine. I deserved it, after all."
"No you didn't!"
"Would your friends agree with you?"
"...no."
"Then, there is no need to apologize, Robin."
"...if you say so. Just- don't go again. Please?"
✨🦐Behold the brilliant blue blasts of barf that best baddies in the black of the bay!🦐✨
Okay, it’s technically not barf… This vibrantly vermillion little deep-sea shrimp, Acanthephyra sp., is a savvy spewer that spits up a sparkling secretion to outsmart sneaky shrimp snackers.
That glorious glowing goo is a special fluid it creates in its hepatopancreas (kind of like an all-in-one liver-and-pancreas combo organ), which lights up upon contact with oxygen in the surrounding seawater. By blasting a predator in the face with bioluminescence, it distracts them long enough for the shrimp to make a swift escape!
