When You Do Not Know What to Do—Do this! Sometimes it is easy to lead, while other times it can be more challenging. In my experience, the worst times to lead are when there is multiple solutions to one singular problem. Now of course, this is not a problem when it is just me, but when there are others involved things become much more complicated. What are you supposed to do when there are people you work with on both sides of an issue, or worse yet, on multiple sides of an issue? This type of situation brings a lot of pressure. The very pit of your stomach can ache and you may have anxiety about making a decision. Your hope is to make a good decision that will please everyone involved. This is what makes you a good leader, because you are caring and passionate about others and their involvement. But, I have learned throughout the years of my leadership experience that I cannot please everyone, no one can. So what is a leader to do? https://leadershipbulletin.com/what-to-do/?utm_source=tumblr&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=ReviveOldPost
Our last Sunday at @tulsafbc {cue deep breaths and grabbing the tissues😭}
♥️
Sometimes God’s calling and required obedience is easy and effortless. Sometimes it hurts and feels painful and confusing. But when we don’t know what God is doing, we can always know Who He is. And who we are to Him. That everything He requires of us is always for our good and His glory! Just as a dad loves to give good gifts to his kids, so does it bring joy to our Heavenly Father to give good gifts to us!! And that He ALWAYS works all things out for the good of those who love Him. This we can KNOW.
♥️
After 16 years of loving and serving the beautiful people at First Baptist Tulsa, OK, God made it crystal clear that we were to follow His calling to an amazing new community at First Baptist Woodway in Waco, TX. I’m not gonna lie...I don’t know how I can hurt so deep, feel so sad, scared and sometimes confused, and yet be feel so excited and full of hope and 100% confidence at the same time. I guess the deeper the love, the harder the hurt is to say goodbye. But it’s not goodbye, really. When you’re connected because of Jesus, you are always connected in Spirit and Truth. And we will be back to visit countless times to see my family and our friends where our roots have grown deep.
♥️
Thank you, First Tulsa, for loving and validating us so hard on Sunday. You are truly our FOREVER friends and family. Please come visit us in Waco soon!!!! You will love it!!! @livebrightguy @tulsafbcstudents
During the old times, the people of God were either so obedient or disobedient. There is really no in-between. Now, as the Israelites disobeyed God many times, God has given them prophets to remind them in the way they should go. One of these prophets is Moses, who personally talked to God in mount Sinai, and who really witnessed how powerful our God is. So part of these reminders is our verse today. Moses reminded the people of Israel to walk in obedience to the commandments that the Lord has given to them so that they will live and prosper, and they will prolong their days here.
Why did Moses have to remind them about all of it? It is because they are hard-headed and like sheep, they tend to walk away from their shepherd and venture into places that can endanger them. Actually, as we hear how they were able to talk to God, and how they literally can hear His voice and see miracles, we can ask why they would still continue to disobey Him? However, as our knowledge deepens, we will know the fact that we are really naturally sinful. All of us are naturally sinful and we always desire to sin. Whatever we do, we always desire to sin. So, that’s why whatever they see, hear, or witness, they will always desire to sin and not to obey God.
Thus, this is the reason why Moses has to remind them about these all over again. No, this is not only for them but also for us. If they were able to disobey God, even after witnessing Him first hand, how much more, we? So, we really have to be always reminded by this that we must walk in obedience and obey what the Lord commanded us to do. We are not under the law, but under grace, but that doesn’t mean that we are free to do any sin because we are saved. As people who are saved by grace through faith, we also have to understand that our salvation produces obedience. If before, they don’t have the power to obey, now, we don’t also but through Jesus Christ we have.
So, we are expected and we ought to follow God and obey Him because we can. It is not impossible to obey Him, but it is possible through Christ. Therefore, we must walk in His path, focus our eyes on Christ and follow all that He commanded us to do. After all, if we believe and claim that we are truly saved, our desire to obey God will naturally come out. Although our sinful nature will always try to crawl back, we have now the power to ignore it and choose to obey God above all else because of Christ. Thus, let us obey God, walk in obedience to the commands He gave us, and He promised that we will prosper and live long.

HEARING the voice of God is quite different than having religiosity. A person can be religions and do good works and have no relationship with God. I believe the purpose of that would be to have a sense of salvation, but it's incomplete and empty at best. If a person doesn't hear the voice of God, it's because there is a disconnect. Perhaps the person chooses voices of the ego by listening to its every desire. It's easier to be a vigilante of the ego, than to develop closeness to the Creator, for if one develops a relationship with Him, such follower of God will change the mind to many things. If a person decides to accept interconnection with God, then such person will never be able to go back to the ego, for it will perceive that it offers nothing. Hearing from God is therefore a mirror of truth shining perfect light.~ EMILIA En L'AIR PURCHASE book SUITCASE to HEAVEN by clicking on the link above my PAGE. #followinggod #interconnectivitywithgod #ego #hearingfromgod #portrait #selfreflection #suitcasetoheaven #lasthoughts #buybook #buymybook #buymybook #suitcasetoheaven #desires #thoughts #firstthoughts #lasthoughts #perception #amazon #instagram #god #religion #christianbooks #christianity (at Alaska) https://www.instagram.com/p/CRh8y7VFB03/?utm_medium=tumblr
I've been in a bit of a dark place lately... Really felt like giving up. Been overwhelmed, frustrated and disillusioned. On every front about this thing called life. About purpose, marriage and even Christianity. A new reality was opening up to me, and I was seriously considering that it was the true picture that I was afraid to embrace. But a number of this have caused me to see faith again and to have hope anew. To smile, even though it's faint. To believe that this too, this #depression can be overcome. Something as simple as encouraging someone else who is walking in purpose, enlightened me. A brother shared an audio message about what he was learning from #God, and it made me remember my #passion and encourage him. He replied that it wasn't any calling like I'd implied, that he was just expressing his thoughts. I replied: "MANY ARE CALLED, FEW ARE CHOSEN. Those who grow and abide are they that are chosen." It made me think to about my own #journey and my #faithfulness. I recalled how #Jesus said that those who turn from the plough are unfit for His Kingdom. I felt weak and unsure, but then #thetruth came... #THISISJUSTAVALLEY! This isn't the destination or my final place. It's just a #deepvalley along the way, and God will bring me out with #testimonies, if I #dontlosefaith here. I have to #believe even in this overwhelming darkness. I have to believe. And you have to believe too, that this isn't your end. There's more ahead. Look up and keep trusting and #followingGod. God bless you all 🤗 Good morning. https://www.instagram.com/p/B1BDaAJFkSz/?igshid=9qk844riwe5b
Jonah began by going a day's journey into the city, proclaiming, "Forty more days and Nineveh will be overthrown." Jonah 3:4
And in the very next verse (3:5)…”The Ninevites believed God.”
Jonah received direction from the Lord to go and preach against the city of Nineveh because of its wickedness…and initially the Bible says that “Jonah ran away”. How often do we run away from something that God has asked us to do? Whether it’s fear, anxiety, being uncomfortable, or just not willing, we may ignore God’s call on our life to perform an action, speak a word or simply listen. But as Jonah would soon find out, when we run, all we do is bring more problems upon ourselves, because we are disobeying our Maker, and we’re trying to accomplish tasks on our own.
In verses four and five of Jonah 3, something happens…”Jonah obeyed the word of the Lord”, and proclaimed to the Ninevites as God had commanded. Scripture then tells us that those in the city of Nineveh, which would eventually become the capital of the violent and destructive Assyrian empire, believed God. Just like that, Jonah follows a commandment from God and the hearts of many were changed. The bible tells us that there were 120,000 people who couldn’t tell their right hand from their left, meaning infants and young children…so when you extrapolate the number, commentators say there were probably as many as 600,000 people in the city!
One calling from God, one statement given, one person following God…and several hundred thousand people’s lives were changed! If we would just follow God when He calls!
Don't let the job and blessings God gave you become a god to you. Hence if God makes you great or gives you a status, don't become a statue. May I not become too big to serve and acknowledge Jesus. Luke 9:23-24 “And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.”
Self-denial.
We do it to lose weight. We do it to detoxify our bodies, find an answer to prayer, or gain a spiritual closeness. Most often, it…

God had plans for our lives even before we were in our mother’s womb... But, our disobedience to follow him can change his plans upon our lives. "Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." ~Isaiah 41:10 Life is hard. Work is hard. Relationships are hard. Name it, it comes with its own set of hardships, obstacles, and nerve-wracking problems. God didn't promise to anyone, including Adam and Eve, life would be rosy ease and filled with champagne dreams. What He did promise was His devotion, His strength, and His help. He can lift and carry what crushes your heart, spirit, and mind. He can clear your vision, unbind your hands, open your ears to hear and heal the parts you thought damaged, so you can walk anew. Better yet, He wants to carry it for you. God won't take you out of the hardship, but He makes it easier to bear if you let Him. #thedailies #ariehillbooks #cslewis #cslewisquotes #quotes #heavy #strength #godsword #scripture #doyouevenlift #christianlife #christianlifestyle #followinggod #heavyburden #heavyburdens #aheartisaheavyburden #living #trustgod #trustgodsword #trustgodswill #trustgodsplan #rest #peace #myburdenislight #jesus #jesuschrist #howheloves #howhelovesus https://www.instagram.com/p/B0lr_yOhxwq/?igshid=85k3atco0n88
