Just let me self-id, god damn it

I am so annoyed with Germany right now. We got promised by our current government, that we were gonna get the self-id law last autumn. We now have spring and... we finally know what is in the bill. And I kinda hate it.

Sure, we got self-id in this, but:

When you go to change your name/gender, you gotta wait 3 months till the change is made. "Time to consider", they say. As if trans folks wake up one day and go like "Oh, yes, I think I am now gonna change my id and birth certificate and everything."

We Germans love our saunas, of course. So TERFs made this big thing out of "Well, what if a trans woman with a dick goes into a women's sauna?" and just the usual: "But what if a guy just goes into a women's sauna." So there is an extra clause about whoever owns a sauna or swimming pool getting the last word on who to allow access and who not. Something that obviously also will affect cis women.

There are no rules in there about health insurance having to cover transition costs. So, it still remains for the health insurance to decide whether they are gonna cover surgery or not.

And I hate it. I just hate it. Just give us a proper self-id law. Like, I have been living as myself, as a dude for years now. I do not need time to consider that shit. I know who I am. And all I want is the stupid top surgery.

I mean, I am a trans guy myself, so I have no reason to go to a women's sauna. And while there is a men's sauna close by, it is pretty small. But they let me in either way, because the owner's son is a trans dude himself, so the owner totally gets it. Never had an issue about it there. (Like, the three times I went. Again, it is fairly small.)

But just... This stupid bill makes the mistake to try and find a compromise between terfs and trans people. As if Germany should not long have learned to not listen to fucking Nazis.

The fact that most European companies treat their non-European employees like shit- despite the fact that Western Europeans enjoy the highest level of workers' rights in the world- just because they can get away with it in the United States or whatever is proof why regulations are needed.

European workers are only treated better than their American counterparts because there are laws protecting them, not because European corporations are so much more humanitarian than American companies. Never forget that under capitalism companies will exploit you for all you're worth and all they can legally get away with.

I am currently learning for my finals about German law and it is amazing how sometimes while reading through the law book there will be stuff that is the craziest and simultaneously the most reasonable stuff ever.

Examples:

§ 811 (1) Nr. 12 ZPO states that during foreclosure you are not allowed to strip people of their glasses, hearing aids, crutches etc., wheelchair or prosthetics.

Like, yeah I sure hope so, fucking imagine

§ 961 BGB states that if a swarm of bees abandons its hive, they become ownerless, if the beekeeper doesn't chase after it right away or abandons the chase.

§ 962 Sentence 1 BGB states that a beekeeper chasing after his swarm has every right to trespass other people's property for sake of the chase.

This is such a beautiful picture im my mind.
