You had arrived from work 20 minutes ago to be exact, in that time you had taken a shower and now you were making a coffee to go straight to studying. Tomorrow you had the exam and you had barely had any free time to study during the week. They had given you more work and the teamwork with Satoru had grown. Satoru. It was strange for you to call him by his name, it was even stranger to call him in class, so most of the time you tried not to do it, but Satoru, as clever as he was, had noticed it and had taken it as a new way to mess with you, in a good way of course.
You walked in silence to your room — Kyoko was studying for another of her subjects and her parents had gone to sleep a while ago. Making as little noise as possible you sat down at your desk and opened the book to the exercise page. Putting aside the hot cup of coffee, you sat up straight, ready to spend practically the entire night, making problems over and over again.
You knew you were going to pass the exam, thanks to Satoru's explanations you knew you would get it but you still wanted to pass it. It wasn't because you didn't want to go on that date with him, to tell the truth, right now you wouldn't mind doing it.
While you were thinking that, a smile appeared on your face, which you immediately shook off. If you liked Satoru better and if Kyoko had been right, your “hatred” towards him had always been stupid.
Taking your headphones and your mobile phone, you put on your study playlist on Spotify and began working through each of the problems, with the music filling your ears.
Close to 2 a.m., you decided to get up from the seat where you had been sitting for over two hours and walk around your room to stretch and clear your mind. Your hands ached from gripping the pen so tightly, and your bed was calling out to you to go to sleep.
Your phone, which was on the table, lit up, indicating that a new notification had arrived. Weird. It was 2 a.m.—who could it be?
You picked it up and looked at the notification.
Pain in the ass
Birdie!!
Don't stay up too late and rest.
You'll do great tomorrow 💪
Feeling a mix of surprise and warmth flood through you, you read Satoru's message again, your heart fluttering at his unexpected gesture. Despite the late hour, his words brought a sense of comfort and encouragement that you hadn't realized you needed.
With a soft smile playing on your lips, you typed out a quick reply to him.
You to Pain in the ass
Thanks, Satoru.
Your message means a lot.
I'll make sure to get some rest, don’t worry.
Goodnight 💫
Sending the message, you set your phone back down on the table, you returned to your studies. But without being able to shake the feeling of warmth that lingered within you.
You heard your name being called in the distance, over and over again. It was Kyoko's voice. With your eyelashes still stuck together, you opened your eyes. In the end, you had fallen asleep while studying. At what point? You didn't know exactly.
“What are you doing here?” Kyoko asked, her eyes wide open.
“What…?”
“Your exam is in 45 minutes!”
You had fallen asleep. Damn, damn, damn. How was that possible? You got up from the chair and grabbed your phone. It hadn't rung.
“Kyoko…” You whispered, turning to look at her, feeling your chest tightening. “In 45 minutes, it's impossible for me to make it to class.” You had to take several transfers to get to the university, and usually, it took you more than an hour. “Shit... if I don't show up, I'll fail, and if I fail, they'll take away my scholarship, if they take away my scholarship, then I'll have to give up everything.” You were about to have a panic attack.
“Hey!” she grabbed your face to make you look at her. “If someone can drive you, then you'll make it on time.”
You nodded, it was true. If someone drove you, you would be there in 15 minutes. But who? Who could drive you?
And then your eyes widened as you realized there was someone. You grabbed the phone again and searched for his name among your contacts, dialing and praying that he would pick up.
“Hello!” The familiar voice came from the other end of the line. “It's rare for you to call me at…”
“Satoru!” You cried. “I fell asleep and I won't make it. Could you come pick me up by car?”
“I'll be there in less than 10 minutes, birdie.” And with that, the call ended.
You looked at Kyoko and sighed. “He said he'll be here in 10 minutes.” She looked at you in relief.
“Good, now start getting ready. You are still on your pajamas, I will prepare something for you to eat.” She started to walk away.
“Kyoko.” You called her, Kyoko looked at you from the door frame. “There is no need, you know I get extremely anxious with exams. I will eat something after the exam. Don’t worry.” She nodded and closed the door behind her.
You walked to your closet and looked for something to wear, needing to get ready quickly. You couldn't be late, nor could you keep Satoru waiting. While looking in the mirror, your phone started ringing. Turning on your heel, you approached it and picked up the phone.
“I'm outside.” Satoru's voice came through on the other end of the line.
“Alright, I'm coming out right now.” You said and hung up.
You grabbed your backpack and the notes from the table and hurried through the house. You waved goodbye to Kyoko and stepped outside, finding Satoru's car parked in front. With light steps, you approached the car and naturally got inside.
“I can't thank you enough.” You said as you settled into the seat.
“Birdie, you don't have to thank me for anything.” He said, shrugging and smiling at you. "Ready to go now?” You nodded and finished buckling your seatbelt.
Satoru made sure you had your seatbelt on and started the car. Leaving behind the neighborhood where you lived, Satoru entered the main road towards the university. You had never driven to university so the road was totally new for you.
You focused your eyes on the new view, seeing the high skyline of Tokyo and the different places ahead of you. You let a small sigh out of your lips.
While the car was still moving across the road, you subtly directed your gaze towards Satoru. You hadn't realized until now, but his blue eyes were covered by round sunglasses. As you looked at his profile you couldn't shake the growing feeling that he was in your stomach.
God Satoru Gojo is fucking handsome. You thought to yourself.
Shaking those thoughts away, you looked for your notes and opened them to review a little before the exam. Your leg began to move unconsciously, it was something that happened to you since you were little, when you were nervous.
A hand, that wasn’t yours, stopped the movement of your leg. This simple gesture caused a sensation that went straight through your whole body.
“Birdie.” Satoru’s voice echoed in the once silent car. “You will do it great…” His hand was still on your knee. And for some reason, it didn’t feel wrong or uncomfortable.
“I just…” You swallowed, trying to formulate a sentence. “I just want to make sure.”
Satoru nodded, still looking at the road before him and still having his hand on your leg. You wanted to tell him to move it. It was a gesture that felt way too intimate, way too comforting. You liked way too much.
You coughed and moved your leg, trying to make him move away his hand. He must have caught the gesture because he moved his hand away from your leg and grabbed the steering wheel again.
A feeling of emptiness and remorse settled in your chest. What an idiot you were.
The landscape began to become more familiar, as you were approaching the university. Luckily you were going to arrive in time for the exam, there were still 10 minutes left before it started. You heard Satoru murmur under his breath and felt the car slow down.
You turned to look at him to see what was happening. “What happened?”
“There is always a traffic jam at the entrance.” He explained to you. You paled for a moment to which Satoru noticing, tried to calm you down. “Birdie, there's time, we'll get there. I’ll make sure you get there.” That calmed your heart fluttering with nervousness.
The car moved slowly and the minutes started to pass, you were starting to enter the campus when the clock indicated that there were 5 minutes left for the start of the exam. You felt the car stopping right in front of your faculty.
“Go.” Satoru pointed at you with the head, you looked at him confused. “C’mon birdie, just go to the exam.”
“What about you?”
“I will find a place to park and go.” You were about to speak when Satoru spoke once again. “It’s okay, I will arrive on time and if I don’t then I will cry a little and the professor will let me in. I mean, look at this face.”
You huffed and unbuckled the car seat belt. “You better get there, because I don't want to beat you if you don't take the exam.” Satoru smiled and leaned on the steering wheel, lowering his glasses a little.
“Don't worry princess, that won't happen.”
Your cheeks turned crimson red upon hearing the new name he had given you. “Don't even think about calling me that again Gojo!” You threatened him, knowing that calling him by his last name would upset him.
“Sorry birdie, now go!” You nodded and turned around to start rushing toward the class.
Your legs moved quickly through the hallways, each step echoing through the halls of the university building. With every step, you felt the weight of your anxiety pressing down on you, urging you to move faster. Had your classroom always been this far away? It seemed like an eternity.
Finally, you reached the door to your classroom and skidded to a stop, leaning against the wall to catch the breath that had escaped your lungs. Your heart was pounding in your chest, the adrenaline from the sprint was still running through your veins, it had been a long time since you last practiced any type of exercise, so your body was no longer used to it. You took a moment to compose yourself, inhaling deeply and exhaling slowly as you tried to calm your racing pulse.
Now recovered, you entered the classroom and scanned the faces of your classmates. Most were already seated, their faces a mix of nervous anticipation and focused determination. Some, were deep in last-minute discussions, whispering fervently as they exchanged notes and assurances.
Taking your usual seat, you sank into the chair and let out a long sigh, the tension in your body slowly dissipating. But as you looked around the room, a knot of worry formed in your stomach. Satoru was nowhere to be seen. Was he still looking for a place to park?
Professor Tanaka's voice cut through the murmurs of the room, signaling the start of the exam. You looked nervously at the empty seat next to you, a sinking feeling settling in the pit of your stomach. If Satoru didn't arrive on time, it would be your fault. It had been you who had fallen asleep, who had made him come look for you. And now, he could lose the exam because of you. Panic gnawed at the edges of your mind as you waited, hoping against hope that he would arrive before it was too late.
You bowed your head, silently pleading for Satoru Gojo to appear at that exact moment. The minutes ticked by agonizingly slow, each second feeling like an eternity as you anxiously awaited his arrival.
Then, just as your hope was beginning to wane, the door swung open and there he was, Satoru Gojo, striding into the classroom with his trademark confidence.
“Gojo, you're late.” Teacher Tanaka's voice rang out, drawing your attention back to it.
Relief flooded through you as you looked up to see him standing there.
He is here.
“Sorry, sorry.” He chuckled, flashing a cocky smile as he made his excuse. “I couldn't find a place to park, but here I am.”
“Okay, now go and sit.” Professor Tanaka instructed, pointing towards his seat.
“Thank you.” Satoru replied with a grateful nod, walking confidently towards his desk, located right next to yours.
Calmly, Satoru settled down next to you and turned his head to look at you. At that moment, your eyes met and a sudden blush invaded you. Satoru gave you a warm, mischievous smile, accompanied by a playful wink that made you blush again, it was the second time in the day.
With determination, you decided to put any distractions related to Satoru Gojo out of your mind and focused on the exam that Professor Tanaka had just handed out. With a sigh, you gripped the pen firmly and began to read the questions carefully. To your surprise, from the first moment you felt comfortable and confident, understanding each statement clearly.
A satisfied smile spread across your face as you realized that this time was different; Your hours of studying with Satoru had paid off and now you felt ready to face the challenge. With each answer you wrote, your self-confidence grew, and that feeling of accomplishment propelled you to keep going.
Concentrated and focused on your skills, you solved each problem with precision and efficiency.
After 45 minutes, you felt Satoru get up from his seat, drawing curious looks from most of your classmates. Satoru, with his characteristic playful smile, approached the teacher and handed him the exam. He didn't surprise you since he was always the first to finish the exams.
As Satoru walked towards the professor, some murmurs of surprise and admiration were heard around him. He watched as he confidently handed in his exam, exchanging a few brief words with the professor before returning to his seat.
Despite his quickness, you noticed that Satoru didn't seem worried about the outcome. He always had that carefree self-assurance that made him stand out. Meanwhile, you continued working on the exam calmly and focused, solving each question at your own pace.
Satoru's attitude was simply part of his energetic and self-confident personality. No matter the situation, he always seemed to be one step ahead. But this time I would get over it, yes you would.
You looked at your completed exam and with a smile you stood up from your seat. You walked past Satoru and gave him a subtle glance while wrinkling your nose and flashing your proud smile. You walked up to Professor Tanaka's table and handed her your test.
Turning on your heel you returned to your seat, watching as Satoru kept his gaze fixed on you while he smiled at you with a hand on his chin. You sat down in your seat and directed your gaze towards Satoru, he raised his thumb at him, wondering if he had done well for you, to which you nodded happily.
You turned your head and started looking out the window, while you waited for the exam to end. The minutes passed slowly, as you watched the students go from one side to the other across the campus. You felt like a weight had been lifted off your shoulders and thanks in part to the help of the person you would have least imagined. Satoru Gojo.
It had been over a month since you were paired up for the project, and in that time, you had become closer, as much as it was hard for you to admit. Over the past two weeks, you found that your attitude towards him, as well as your feelings, changed.
With each passing day, your interactions with him became more meaningful and you couldn't help but notice the subtle changes in your emotions. What started as a group project duo you hated and loathed was turning into something deeper, something that stirred your heart in unexpected ways. And something that scared you greatly with every movement you made.
The class was filled with noise and agitated movements of your classmates — the exam was over. You sighed letting out the air of tension and stood up from your seat. Only to run into Satoru looking at you carefully with those blue eyes again. Did he ever look away from you?
“How was birdie?” He smiled at you.
You smiled widely, showing your teeth. “Perfect. I’m going to win our bet.” You challenged him.
“Oh.” He formed an 'o' with his lips. “I can't wait to see that.” A smile appeared on his lips.
“Satoruuuuu.” A voice approached both of you, it was one of your classmates, you saw them a couple of time but never interacted with them.
“Hey.” Satoru smiled with a flirtatious smile drawn on his face, you rolled your eyes at the gesture.
“Satoru, I was wondering.” They looked around and also looked at you. And you swore the gaze wasn’t a nice one. “I’m really bad at this subject and well you’re the best.” To which Satoru nodded with a smile. “I was wondering if you could help me study, we could meet up after classes and you could teach me.” They started touching Satoru’s arm which made an unpleasant sensation run through your body.
Satoru took their hand and placed it far away from him. “Sorry but I don't give private classes.” You looked at him confused, that was clearly a lie. “Now, we will be leaving. Birdie, let’s go?” You looked at him still confused with the lie he just told.
As both of you began to walk away, you overheard the friends of your classmate approaching them.
“I thought she couldn't stand him.” One of them remarked.
“Yeah, and apparently he's been giving her private classes.” Another added.
“Yeah, you know what type of private classes, right?” One of them chuckled. “Her knees must be all red.” The group erupted into laughter.
You rolled your eyes at the disgusting rumors, but over the years, you had learned to ignore such talk behind your back.
Suddenly, Satoru's voice cut through the air. He was no longer beside you. When did he move? “Repeat that if you dare.” He said. “Did you really think I wouldn't hear you with a voice so piercing it echoes throughout the classroom?” A shiver ran down your spine. You had never seen Satoru angry or heard him speak in such a tone. And judging by the stares directed at him, neither had anyone else.
“I…” The person who made the comment stuttered, trembling with fear at the sight of Satoru Gojo's imposing figure and fierce glare.
“What's the matter? Cat got your tongue?” Satoru taunted.
“Satoru.” The one who had approached him earlier to ask for a private class stepped forward. “My friend didn't mean it that way.”
“Is that so?” Satoru said snorting. “Then what did they mean?”
“Satoru.” Your classmate insisted, looking somewhat uncomfortable under Satoru's piercing gaze. “They were just joking around, you know how it is.”
Satoru's expression remained stern, his eyes fixed on the group. “Joking around about what, exactly?” He demanded, his voice laced with a simmering anger.
The group exchanged nervous glances, realizing they were caught in an uncomfortable situation. “We... we didn't mean anything by it.” One of them mumbled.
“And what exactly did you mean, then?” He pressed, his voice low and threatening.
One of the friends stammered, struggling to find words under Satoru's intense scrutiny. “We... we were just messing around, you know?” They muttered weakly.
Satoru's eyes narrowed, his patience becoming thinner with each word that was coming out of their mouths. “Messing around at whose expense?” He snapped, his voice rising with anger.
The group flinched. “We... we didn't mean to offend anyone.” Another one muttered.
You almost laughed out loud hearing them.
Satoru took a step forward, his presence dominating the space between them. “Words have consequences.” He growled. “Think before you speak, or face the consequences.”
With that, Satoru turned on his heel and walked away, leaving the group stunned into silence. As he approached you, you could see his face relaxing and his anger slowly dissipating.
“Sorry about that.” He said, his tone softer now. “You are okay?”
You nodded, not giving much importance to the words of people you didn’t know.
Together, you continued on your way, leaving behind the echoes of the confrontation. As you walked, you couldn't help but give small gazes at Satoru, you wouldn’t have thought Satoru would have stepped out just for you but he did.
Arriving at the cafeteria, you sat one in front of the other and with a cup on each hand.
“Thank you.” You whispered. “For you know, stepping in. There was no need…”
“What do you mean there was no need?” He left his cup on the table. “They were bad mouthing you, trying to create rumors that were no true.”
“People like to talk.” You shrugged casually. “At the end of the day the important thing is what the people who matter to you think about you. Not those with whom you have never exchanged a word and surely never will. They talk because their lives are so extremely boring that to satisfy that void they have, they have to fill it with lies and bad words about others.” You picked up your cup and calmly sipped it again.
You didn't care if people talked behind your back, yes sometimes those words like knives could stab you hard. But at the end of the day those people were insignificant to you, the people you cared about weren't those people so if they wanted to think that you had been sucking Satoru Gojo's cock, then they should. With that story created in their heads, you knew that envy was eating away at them.
“No.” You observed as Satoru's fists tightened on the table, his expression a blend of frustration and indignation. “It doesn't matter if you'll never interact with those people, or if they mean nothing to you. No one deserves to be spoken about in the way they did there.” He declared, his voice carrying a hint of intensity. “You don't deserve that, birdie. You don't deserve anyone speaking ill of you. Because you are truly wonderful and only deserve good and praising words.”
His words resonated deeply, igniting a warmth in your chest as if a comforting flame had been kindled. It was remarkable how Satoru possessed the ability to evoke such a profound sense of reassurance with just a few simple words.
As you met his earnest gaze, you felt your cheeks warmer.
“You’re an idiot.” You said hiding your face in the coffee cup.
Satoru looked at you offended. "What have I done?" He cried.
You were about to reply when your phone started to sound on your bag. “Hi.” You said.
The happy voice of Haibara sounded on the other side of the phone singing your name. “I was calling you to tell you that tomorrow we will be closing the store. So you don’t have to come, you are free!”
“Oh!” You gasped in surprise. “That’s great! But nothing happened right?”
“Nop.” He popped out the ‘p’. “Just enjoy your weekend. Now I need to leave! Bye!” And with that he hanged out.
You looked at you phone for an instant. “What happened?” Satoru spoke.
“Nothing.” You put your phone aside. “Haibara called me, he wanted to tell me that tomorrow I would be free.”
“Great.” He smiled. “The basketball team is having a party at the disco. Wanna come?” He cockily looked at you.
“Are you inviting me out, Satoru Gojo?” You raised an eyebrow. “The results for the exam aren’t out yet.” You challenged him.
“Oh princess if I win the bet I won’t be taking you out to an ugly club.” There it was again that new nickname that turned yourself on.
“Gojo.” You replied with a mocking tone. “Don't even think about calling me that.”
“Kyoko is coming.” He said ignoring your words.
“How do you know that?”
“Suguru is my best friend and Kyoko is his girlfriend, duh.” He said sticking his tongue out.
“I will think about it.”
“Pretty please.” He said pouting.
“I didn’t know the great Satoru Gojo could pout like a puppy.” You mocked.
“Oh for you I would that and much more.”
The conversation was taking an unexpected turn, entering a territory that felt strangely flirtatious. Were you inadvertently sending signals, or was Satoru intentionally leading the interaction in that direction?
You shook your head, dismissing the thought as absurd. No, that couldn't be it. Surely, it was just a result of the comfortable rapport you shared as friends, nothing more. And Satoru, well, he was just being his usual charismatic self, right?
But despite your attempts to rationalize it, a nagging doubt lingered in the back of your mind. Could there be something more to these exchanges? Or were you simply overthinking things?
You couldn't deny it, you felt attracted to his presence and appreciated the moments you spent together. And as your connection had deepened, so had your feelings that blossomed within you.
You still didn't want to admit that something had changed in you regarding Satoru Gojo. But you knew it was there, your feelings for him were undeniable and showed no signs of fading.
You brushed off those thoughts, chalking it up to imagination. After all, you and Satoru were just friends, nothing more, nothing less. At least, that's what you kept telling yourself.

König x GN!reader
Tumblr media
Request: @aixxka
Was thinking about a KorTac mission where König gets hurt and reader (was studying medicine before joining spec ops) takes care of him on a field. And he's unsure of what to do bc he never received such treatment, especially in a middle of a mission with bullets flying through. You can change whatever you want, but I hope you like this idea! Good luck and thanks if you write it!. half broken English, sorry)))
Warnings: gunfire, near death experience, blood and wounds, swearing, hurt/comfort, kissy kissy
Only thing I changed was making it an ambush of sorts rather than a mission, I’d like to finish this game so I can be as accurate as possible before writing detailed missions
Enjoy!
It was quiet on the hangar, the assortment of soldiers who were supposed to be repackaging gear and weaponry largely messing with each other and fucking off. The sun was low in the sky, casting vibrant pinks and reds streaking across the clouds and wide sky above them.
“Hey Ghost.”
Soap fiddled with a scope of a Locus, a shit-eating grin pulling at the corner of his mouth.
“Do I know you?” Ghost huffed, clicking a container’s lid closed.
Soap glared but pressed on. “What do you call a blind-"
“No.” The soldier caught between the two of them deadpanned.
“Oh, come on, Hyena, thought laughing was your thing?” Soap put down what he was holding, shaking his teammate’s shoulder with one hand.
“Are they—wrestling?” Hyena brushed off Soap, eyes trained ahead of them.
“Steamin’ Jesus, König! Don’t kill him!” Soap walked over, hanging back from the two men.
König and Roach were grappling at each other, Roach either unfazed or ignorant to the comical difference in size.
König looked up, surprise shining through the sniper hood that covered all but his eyes.
“I would never! Although he did challenge me.” He returned his attention to Roach, grabbing him in a hold and lowering to the ground.
Hyena watched him, fascinated with how he was able to articulate his strength so precisely. In the field, König practically ripped his opponents from the earth, but playfully sparring with a teammate, he was almost gentle.
“Do you surrender?” König spoke into Roach’s helmet, his tone dramatic.
Roach shook his head wildly, then after fighting to free himself for a few more moments, huffed a breath and relaxed. König released him, pulling him to his feet.
“A wise choice- ha!” He barked a laugh when Roach pushed his chest in frustration before returning to the table with the weaponry.
Hyena smiled, quickly looking down at the mag they were holding when they realized they were staring. They couldn’t help it—König was fascinating inside and out.
A tremble under Hyena’s boots caused their smile to fade quickly.
“Anyone feel that.” Their voice was low, catching everyone’s attention. Ghost nodded.
“Was about to ask. Close up the cargo.”
The trembling grew to a rumble in the ground, and Hyena turned in the direction of Price, who was already excusing himself from a group of superiors and walking over.
“What’s going on?” Price addressed Hyena.
“No idea, sir.” They looked back around, trying to locate the source of the noise. It sounded like highway traffic back in town but more intense, urgent.
“Soap, Ghost, König, Alejandro, man the front, Hyena, Gaz, and Roach, follow but don’t make yourselves seen. I’ll be in the hangar to spread the word then join the front. GO!”
Hyena grabbed the scope Soap had been holding and attached it to the Locus, moving it to rest on their back while they dragged as much cargo out of sight as they could. The front line moved to the left of the plane, past the wall that obscured Hyena’s view until they could follow.
“Let’s move, come on!” Gaz jogged past, Hyena joining him alongside Roach while retrieving their Locus from their back. They wavered some ten meters behind their teammates, moving from cover to cover with quiet speed. As they drew closer, the source of the noise was revealed. Two armored cars drove side by side, a gunner on each.
“What the hell is this?” Hyena murmured into comms, watching the cars grow closer.
“No idea.” Alejandro sounded just as confused.
The cars slowed to a stop, the passengers of each getting out and facing Ghost and Alejandro, who’d stepped forward.
Hyena moved silently forward, but Roach’s arm stopped them. He signed close to his chest.
Not yet.
I need to listen. They signed back quickly, placing a hand on his shoulder as they moved past. They made it close enough to hear, kneeling to lean forward. Alejandro was speaking, and he was frustrated.
“..No somos tus chicos! This was a simple mistake, my friends.” Alejandro remained calm, but his voice shifted to a threatening tone. “You need to leave.”
The men front the cars fired back in Spanish too fast for Hyena to catch, clearly enraged. Alejandro hung his head, exasperated.
“Since when do we have bandits?” Hyena spoke quietly into comms.
“Since now.” Gaz retorted. Hyena’s slight amusement was cut short by a gunshot. The man on the right had fired into the sky, Soap and Ghost drew aim, taking their stance.
“HOLD IT!” Price marched down the space between areas of cover, his anger radiating in all directions. He sized up the leader, lifting his chin so his eyes bore into theirs.
“Leave now and no one gets hurt. I’m being kind here.”
Hyena glanced at Gaz, sharing a look of fearful admiration for their Captain. They turned back just as the first shot was fired. It was one of the gunners, striking Ghost in the ribs. Luckily he wore a vest, but Hyena knew that pain could not be canceled out easily. Price got a hold of the leader’s gun, smacking him in the temple with the end of it. Soap and Ghost grappled with the leader’s posse while Gaz quickly took out the two gunners.
Looking behind them, Hyena spotted several men from the cars jogging to the main hangar. They signaled silently to Roach and Gaz, nodded their head in that direction. Running between cover, bullets whizzed past Hyena’s head, occasionally making contact with their leg armor.
Looking through their scope, Hyena aimed and disarmed the first enemy they saw. They’d shot the man’s legs so he crumpled to the ground, crying out.
They gathered the ammo he’d been hauling in his arms and returned it to an open container, snapping it closed once more. The process of disarming and relocating cargo continued before Soap’s voice boomed in Hyena’s ear.
“HIT! KÖNIG’S HIT! MEDIC, NOW!”
“The only medic is at the next hangar, how bad is it?” Hyena replied steadily.
“FUCKIN’ BAD!”
“On my way.”
“There’s more coming! Whoever the hell these guys are, they’re working for someone..” Ghost’s voice grated into the comms.
Hyena rolled to their side to avoid a blast of machine gun bullets, pressing their back to the cover they’d made it to. Breathing scarcely, they steeled themselves before muttering to no one in particular.
“Hang on, König..”
They sprinted from cover to cover with speed much like a the animal they’d been named after, feeling as such due to the humid air they pushed through. At last, König’s form came into view, Hyena breaking for it and earning a bullet graze to the shoulder for their hastiness. Soap kneeled at his side.
“You know what you’re doin’?” Soap hollered over the gunfire, squinting in the dust that had been kicked up around them.
“I’m the best he’s got!” Hyena replied, waving for him to keep moving. He clapped them on the back before obliging, moving quickly to return to the hangar and take Hyena’s place.
“Hyäne..” König murmured weakly, recognition flashing over his expressive eyes.
“Hey, big guy.” Hyena threw off their backpack, surveying his wounds. He’d been struck in the same place twice, close range from the looks of it, which had torn through his protective gear. Whoever this fucker was had horrifying aim. Unlatching his vest and lifting his shirt, they saw the extent of the deep red blood pouring through his gloves and onto the dusty ground. Watching Hyena dig through her bag, the situation seemed to set into the man’s mind.
“It’s dangerous to stay here..go, Liebes..”
“What? No.” They pressed a folded patch of gauze to his wound, causing him to tense and groan quietly.
“I know, I know, I’m sorry..” They returned to their bag to retrieve a vial of alcohol, lifting the gauze momentarily to sanitize the wound and surrounding skin.
“Why are you..”
“König, save your breath!” Hyena scolded, but internally their heart broke a little. What had the world done to this man to think he deserved to bleed out in the sand to some bandit?
“Can you sit up?” They pried gently. König obeyed, lifting himself to sit against the concrete wall that shielded them. Moving his shirt further, Hyena wrapped the gauze securely around his middle.
“Too tight?” They looked up into those misty eyes that shone through his hood, and König averted his gaze, blinking. “No..”
“Good.”
“They’re retreating!” Gaz’s voice sounded in Hyena’s ear, and they smiled.
“Hear that? Just a few minutes.”
König’s eyes fluttered shut.
“Hey. Hey, hey, no, no-" Hyena held his head in her bloodied hands, tapping gently, then firmly.
“SOAP! GHOST! NEED YOU TO CARRY KÖNIG, HE’S BLACKED OUT!”
The hollering into their comms almost sounded unnatural coming from them, a usually level-headed person and soldier.
“On our way!” Soap replied quickly, the sound of the armored cars beginning to fade in the direction that they came.
Ghost and Soap managed to drag the beast of a man back to the hangar, where the real medic had been called over. Hyena didn’t leave his side, insisting she be there for the entire process. They blamed their insistence on further training their medical skills, which wasn’t untrue, but the larger truth was they couldn’t bear pacing outside the infirmary door.
“That should do it, rookie. Not bad.”
The medic guiding Hyena cut past the last knot of König’s stitches, Hyena quickly soaking up the leftover blood with a pad of gauze. They should have kept him talking, or pressed harder, gotten to him quicker, something.
“I gotta get back.” The medic tore Hyena from their thoughts, lingering at the door.
“Of course. Thank you.”
They nodded, slipping out of sight with a tap to the doorframe. While König was still out, Hyena decided to slip his sniper hood back on to make him more comfortable when he awoke. A shame, they thought. His features were hardened from war, but especially relaxed this way, he was undeniably beautiful. Scars ran near his nose and along his jaw, accentuating the sort of ruffian handsomeness that was brought together by his dark brown, shaggy locks and stubble. After replacing the hood, they began to clean their station while waiting for him to wake. Hardly a minute had passed before they heard a sharp inhale.
Hyena rushed to his side, one hand hovering over his arm.
“Took you long enough.” Hyena spoke gently, letting him acclimate to the bright lights. He hummed in acknowledgment, attempting to sit up before quickly retracting with a hiss.
“Take it easy, we’re taking a day before leaving for the snatch and grab.” Hyena sighed. “You scared me out there.”
König hummed a short laugh. “You are..very brave.”
“Aw..” Hyena shrugged playfully.
“No, no..” König reached out, resting a hand on their forearm. His touch was warm, and the absence of his gloves made Hyena’s face deepen in color.
“I am..not used to this.” His voice wavered with uncertainty. “You are—kind.”
Their heart shattered all over again.
“When you’re hurt, König, when you’re down and bleeding, you deserve to be saved.”
König blinked, and a warm silence enveloped the two soldiers as his heart rate monitor chirped with every moment.
“You put my hood back on.”
“Oh, uh, yeah. Thought it would, I don’t know how you feel about-"
“Liebes?”
Hyena quieted, silenced by his addressing and the hand moving to hold her own. His thumb rested on their knuckles, his palm enveloping their hand in comparison.
“You can take it off.”
Hyena didn’t reply, looking between their hands and his gentle eyes. Their blush heated more at the closeness.
“I will.” He’d decided, and Hyena was too stunned to stop him as he moved the bed rail to stand with a sharp inhale of pain.
“You should..”
König lifted the back of it first. They’d seen his face, sure, but a medical state of mind is not one that focuses heavily on intimacy. In fact, thinking back to the exposed skin they’d felt while stopping the bleeding, there were many moments that had they been in a different state of mind, they would have practically melted from embarrassment.
He let the front of the hood fall from his face, revealing those eyes and dark eyelashes accentuated with the remaining war paint Hyena had failed to remove. It was strange, seeing such a large man fiddle with something in his hands and maintain a reserved body language.
“The truth is, I don’t show my face often, to them, because—I want to protect myself.”
His features moving with his words was almost too much.
“But you, you..” König trailed off, letting one hand holding the hood fall to his side while gesturing to Hyena with the other.
“What does Liebes mean?” Hyena murmured suddenly.
“Oh. Well, uh,” König scratched the back of his head briefly. “It means uh, what would you say? Darling.”
Hyena blinked rapidly, studying their boots for a moment. Their attention was brought back to the man in front of her by him stepping forward. Their head rose to look to his automatically.
“I need you to know that I’m showing you—myself, and calling you these things because..I feel differently about you than I do them.”
“In-in what way?” Hyena scolded themselves for stuttering, brought to shambles by this man before them.
“May I show you?” His voice was hardly a murmur.
“Yes.”
His hand came up to their head, cradling the back of it and resting a thumb on the sensitive skin behind their ear.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, König..”
Ever the worrier. Hyena tugged gently on his shoulders and he took the message and swiftly took their lips to his. He was hesitant, but feeling Hyena’s receptiveness to his touch let slip his neediness. He breathed shakily through his nose, lowering his head to kiss them deeper. Hyena hummed low in their throat when they felt his tongue, König beginning to emit lovely sounds in response. They separated by a centimeter, breathing deeply.
“I want to be with you, Hyäne.”
His confession was low and quiet, as if he was hardly ready to admit it.
“I want that too.”
Hyena returned to kiss him, relishing in the arms they felt cradle their back. It was not often they thanked an enemy team, but tonight, they did just that.

I silently make my way to your ask box, after days of reading your content like a lurker I'm. During these days I have made an oc, CoD self insert (With Monster AU variant and today I bombed my unwilling friend with Monster AU Makarov x Self insert brainrot, because I got succumbed to all cute courting hcs etc.) and started impulse One-shot. . Krhm. But in all seriousness. I love your way of writing, In your long fic about the Mage reader, while reading, I was talking to my friend how the picturing of the magic is so good, it's ugly, hard, dirty but damn is it powerful too yet not too op. I mostly returned to the as simple scene as the shower one in chap 2, usage of words and picturing how things tasted an looked like. Being on the edge in chap 1 and even before "the janitor" comes in, something tingles in my writer head "*Something is going to happen, I can feel it.*" That fic was one of the instanses I fell in love on your way of worldbuilding too. I accidentally found your Good dog fic first, as I was trying to find something from the tags for my own unholy projects. I notice the Male reader tag and despite my hope being drained after years, I click on it. And I was so glad I did. (On a note I'm in very bad brainrot train on that man, it took the edge off.) So, out of curiosity, my mind now given water after so long for being dehydreided, I decided to take a peek. And I ended up reading a lot, finding it so refreshing to also have a top reader. And I eventually found the Trans fics. I'm Pre-transition, ftm and the first time ever, a bloody fucking nsfw fic, (besides horny), makes me happy and content *with myself and my future.* And that's most sappy I will go but I told you this that your fics has also truly imbacted in some deeper way. Okay, back to lurking, but I will be going to some recommended blogs too, because I might just go and read all of your fics again. Also about time I remember to follow you. Keep up the good work and good luck on your studies. ✌️
Yessss another one joins to the monsterloving/ monsterfucking cult lol and honestly those impulsive one shorts are some of the best things ppl write lol.
And honestly you're making me grin like a mad man while I'm writing this :Dd Not to toot my own horn but I've had the worldbuilding of the HHABF universe for years lol and I love when magic is this nitty gritty thing that's more harmful than useful if you don't know how to use it lol. It feels great when people like my work but it's even better it impacts ppl in a deeper way than just 'oh yeah fap material' you know?
If you wanna check out some other of my moots there's @lieutnt who was the reason I got into writing myself because his work was so inspiring lol, then there's @rodolfoparras has some monster141 works and his old man Price is scrumptious, @embry-garrick has some trans fics too if I remember correctly and is a talented writer @fortheb0ys did some makarov fics too and they're great lol.

My part of the exchange for @summernightsdawn
Your twisted match is....Lilia!
Tumblr media
Hear me out, I hesitated between 4 people (lilia, rook, deuce and kalim in this order). But in the end I settled (or made you settle) for our favorite bat fae, Lilia.
I believe that you befriended Silver first and then Lilia. You said you were a big sis or mum friend, which means that you’d be part of the people helping out Silver when he starts dozing off and all. Silver would talk about you to Lilia who’d at first be mostly interested in thanking you for taking care of silver when he is not here. But then he found you fun, sticked around and a love story bloomed.
You two are just walking sunshines, with Lilia being more mischievous and pranking people (and then you rush to help them out, the poor victim is confused on being angry or thankful. Beware, Lilia will be jealous and pouty if you ignore him to help out other too much). With this dynamic, Lilia finds it hilarious that you’re the bluntest in the relationship. Yeah you two are a confusing when you’re around because it’s just full of surprises.
You’re a hopeless romantic and Lilia is a knight in shining armor who’d give it all for the people he loves (I won’t spoil but you see it very well in chapter 7). He is also imaginative and will try his best to make both your visions of love come true. His favorite thing to do is rushing at you to hug you, dipping you for a kiss if you let him, getting you obscure and rare gifts, wearing matching things with you and just spending time with you. He likes video games and would try his best to make you play with him co op games (jokingly calling you his forever number 2). He always let you put make up on him and even dress him up! And he will proudly wear it with pride. Your comments make him laugh and he will always oblige while answering you in character. He is someone who enjoys the present and wants to make the best of it so there’s nothing he wouldn’t do for you if he loves you very much and the relationship gets very deep.
For the entire Diasomnia crew, teach him how to cook if you can. That’s the only magic even Malleus can’t master. You’ll get loyal knights (silver and sebek) forever by your side if you manage to make him cook something edible. He loves cooking and baking with you but….good luck. Lilia doesn’t seem like he studies much but it’s because he has vast and ancient knowledge. He can answer any of you historical, magical and even literature/folklore related questions. I believe that for this reason he’d be the best critique cuz he doesn’t break you in his criticism and gives you excellent advices to do better.
You’re a blue belt in taekwondo? He is a general, he’d love to spare with you and gives you fighting advice, a very good teacher as we saw with sebek and Silver. Lilia sometimes surprise you by taking you observe timeless pieces only available to the elite and speaking in depth about all of them. Sometimes they’re in his room but it’s so chaotic in there….The only issue in the relationship is that Lilia bottles up a lot and won’t reveal his past easily (he won’t if he has to). Sometimes you feel like you don’t really know him, but he is doing his best, just give him time. Both of you hide things, be it memories or feelings, but once one of you starts opening up, the other will follow. It’s a question of when that only you can answer. He is also not above pranking you, so I hope you won’t get easily angered by this. When you get angry, he’s not very good at calming you down because he jokes a lot. Heck, sometimes he even just kisses you to fluster you and make you forget your anger. It doesn’t mean he doesn’t take care of you! You’re the apple of his eyes. Also, he doesn’t mind you teasing him about his height, but remember, he can fly. He will fight back, lol.

Here we go with the path to the dawn. Making my way to Fellsun Ruins first.
Tumblr media
Uh, is Ori's journal supposed to be this menacing. I've got a bad feeling about some of the shit she says in here.
Tumblr media
...oh. Oh! Ori is Oboro's sister! Her brother is the guy who became so corrupted by Ku's imperialism that there was already nothing human left in him for the Book of Night to corrupt. That's. Uh. That's probably really bad.
Tumblr media
Well, this is a hell of a thing. So Ori's been facilitating all of this on behalf of Oboro, who's our true Big Bad Evil Guy? These journals suggest her involvement with both Hikari's bloodline and Harvey.
Tumblr media
Oh, hey! I actually guessed this one. When Castti mentioned Lostseed feeling familiar, I had a hunch that The Guy that said The Thing was Claude! So, yeah, that confirms the obvious: That Trousseau was under the influence of the Shadow. He got his poison from the Book of Night.
Tumblr media
And Harvey was under the Shadow's influence as well. Not just studying it, but he too had read from the Book of Night. Between Harvey, Kaldena, and Trousseau, it's pretty clear that reading from the Book of Night does weird shit to your psyche.
Hell, Ori even confirms it here, where she says outright that they let Harvey read it for the purpose of altering his mind.
Tumblr media
BOOM, Vide is the Shadow confirmed. Ori's journals are super informative. Literally having the player read a series of Fandom Wiki articles explaining the plot synopsis is the worst possible way to deliver information, but at least the information is cool.
Tumblr media
Aha, so that's what Claude's whole thing is about. I'm suddenly very alarmed by the fact that Throné is by far my #1 most OP character. And also not.
Like, on the one hand, gonna suck if Vide takes her. But on the other hand, good fucking luck taking her.
Man, so much interesting information that it would have been cool to find out organically, like, in a story or something. There was literally a scene whose sole purpose was for Claude to explain all of this, and he was just like, "Nah, I'm not going to explain the details, I want you to find out by reading wiki articles about my backstory later."
Tumblr media
T_T No! What! No! Ugh, I thought she'd be, like, a living antagonist we'd get to meet up against and have an emotional confrontation with. Goddammit.
Walking into the Plot Location to just find a note taped to the macguffin that reads "By the way Ori was evil but she's dead now, s'cool," is a pretty anticlimactic way to tie off these big journal revelations.
Endgame Fellsun Ruins sucks.
Tumblr media
Oh, unless she's still alive and going to return to the plot at the eleventh hour or something. That'd be fine.
As long as Ori returns, I'm cool with never getting to face her as a villain.

sorry I hate to do this and you don't have to publish this at all!! but I just wanted to let you know that i study sports science at university 🤓 and as far as I can see pyry is one of the best driver coaches on the grid! i saw in the post that you linked in response to another anon the other day and the op of that actually answered a follow up question about it and provided more details on her concerns. the "pseudoscience experiments and gear" turns out to be really normal and common stuff that's common across the elite athlete coaching industry. it's not been around for long, but it definitely isn't harmful to the athlete in any way.
personally i think it's really good that pyry is engaged enough to keep up with emerging science and tech! the betting on pierre's weight thing was new to me and I was really surprised by it because I follow pyry quite closely! but if it is accurate, then that's definitely bad form and I can't defend it (even if it's a joke between friends!) but the other stuff really isn't bad or at all harmful.
one day I want to be a professional coach 🤞 so I follow this stuff pretty closely and as far as has been made public (except the betting) pyry seems like one of the best on the grid! I really look up to him and his approach a lot! please don't post this if it'll cause tension with your mutual who doesn't like him i just wanted to let you know! 💞
(so sorry this is so long 😭)
hi anon so sorry im late. thank you so much for this very sweet and considerate message it literally made my day 😳 i don't know much about sports science and couldn't find a lot on his instagram so i'll probably remain neutral slightly skeptical (that comes from a protectiveness towards my string bean of a blorbo who hasn't had the best of luck with trainers) but im so sooo glad pyry has ur professional vote!!! this gives me faith and a lil peace of mind and i really appreciate it!!!
i hope ur having fun in uni and i think you'll make the best professional coach there is bc imo kindness is what makes one stands out <3
ty for this lovely ask 😳💗

Abyss, can we have some au headcannons for birdie and kid and the crew? Like, how they meet, how they get along, what would they be if they met in our world kinda stuff. If that's not too bothersome ofcourse. With love. ❤
Yo! Of course.
First of all, if you're interested in this topic, I recommend a fic from my fellow fanwriter and friend KiraReno, titled "Modern Life."; I linked it but you can find it on Wattpad. It's a modern!AU Law x OC, but birdie (as "Lotte") is a character that gets involved with Kid there. I was partially involved in the crafting of her plotline. Heads up: unfortunately the story is unfinished, the author is on a hiatus and I'm not sure when/if she's coming back. Either way, she has a lot of OP characters x reader stories, and she's one of the best OP authors out there in my opinion.
Now, moving onto your modern!AU Kid x birdie headcanons! Under the cut.
Birdie is probably a veterinarian of some sort - with the fact that she has a medic aptitude but she doesn't particularly like people, I think it works
Kid is either a mechanic or a mechanic engineer, OR even better, he works in a workshop to pay for his engineer studies
Killer is studying to become a chef, helps Kid sometimes for some extra money
both hit the gym all the time
they are also occasionally involved in some shady stuff like illegal car racing or so
I like the idea of birdie going around with an old vespa that often has issues
so they would meet when she brings it to Kid's workshop to get repaired
Kid would be enthralled because it's a very unusual vehicle, he strikes me as the type that would know anything about old models and they would get him very excited
he takes notice of the sarcastic girl that brings in such motor scooter
if they live in the same town, they might meet at some party - let's say Luffy and the gang throw a big one, he'll probably invite Kid & crew, and birdie can be there through common friends like Koby
I feel like Kid would normally have a lot of casual sex and one-night stands, so it wouldn't be a big deal for him to hit on her - just to be blatantly ignored
then there's a drinking competition that birdie totally rules (not win, as Zoro is there, and Nami is a worthy opponent too, but she certainly impresses a lot of people with her drunk-sassy attitude)
Killer & crew will have a "uh-oh" moment as they see Kid zeroing on her and setting on the pray
he challenges her to a 1v1; if he wins, she goes on a date with him (he would already have her phone number because of the vespa repair)
and that's how they go out for the first time
she's definitely very impressed with the work he did on her vespa, no one had done such a good job before
during the date, Kid definitely catches her eye, she's drawn in by his wild side, it feels new, exciting, refreshing
but she's very insecure, she's the type that has avoidant attachment issues due to being neglected as a child (Aokiji as adoptive, quite distant father maybe?), so she feels intimidated by him
which she tries to cover up by being extra sassy
Kid senses her insecurities, but the mixture with her strengths kinda excites him even more
not much will happen on that first date except for a fun night together
once he gets home, Killer is playing video games (they're roommates), and casually says "oh, you're home early, so no luck with the vespa girl?"
"not yet"
Killer is quite surprised as Kid usually loses interest quickly if a woman doesn't put out
in the following days, he observes how Kid is more attracted to her than he even realizes, but he's not sure the girl feels the same
Killer decides to secretly help out his homie by organizing something chill like a bbq and inviting common friends, so birdie can come over with her own mates and she & Kid can spend time together in a neutral environment
birdie feels more secure in this occasion
they kiss for the first time
their actual first time would happen after a couple more dates, when they both get drunk
it'll be hard for birdie, but she'll tell him before that she is a virgin
this gets Kid extra excited, he loves the idea of being her first, and the whole pain/pleasure situation is definitely his thing
BUT he still tries his best to be gentle (for his standards) and prepares her as much as he can by going down on her first
after that night, they become a couple
it's not easy to adjust as they're both strongheads and totally new at this
they have crazy physical chemistry and they're hot for each other all the time, but there will be a lot of messy fights too
somehow tho they always find their way back to each other (although Killer has to mediate sometimes)
birdie bonds with the crew too, especially Killer and Heat
birdie & Killer become pasta buddies
she's drawn to Heat because he makes her feel very calm and secure, he's drawn to her for the same reason, he's not used to girls feeling so safe around him
plus birdie doesn't care about the shady stuff or the punk looks, so they can be themselves around her all the time
as a couple, Kid & birdie are horny, both jealous and possessive, fierce, sassy
but they have their secret soft moments when no one is around
Kid is sometimes brutal but a huge help for birdie's insecurities, and she's a great incentive to push him trough his studies because she encourages him all the time and believes in him even when he doesn't
the crew don't say anything, but they're definitely overjoyed seeing their boss so happy
There you go, I hope you like it! It was fun, feel free to ask for more stuff. ❤️

Alright, here's what I've got for "emotional and maybe violent" games. All these are available on steam (or at least, used to be.)
Alan Wake - Play as an analog for Stephen King in a town that may or may not be cursed while you fight possessed townsfolk and search for your missing wife. More focused on the story than the action, but it's a pretty game, at least. Ignore the sequel. Remake coming...Eventually?
Bioshock Infinite - I'm certain you've already played this, I don't even know why I'm putting it on this list.
Carrion - Play as a flesh monster escaping from a secret underground lab. Consume humans for fun and to regain health and grow larger. Consume lab samples to gain new abilities. Metroid-style navigation that blocks off parts of the game until you have the requisite abilities. Light on the story, but big on horror violence. Published by Devolver Digital (so you know it's good).
Cry of Fear - Play as Simon, a student that's just trying to get home and survive the horror his town has turned into. Has a deeper meaning once you beat the game and get the whole story, but I never beat it, and can no longer run it. This game is older than my computer. Also has an additional DLC(?) called Afraid of Monsters, with co-op functionality.
Darkest Dungeon - Acclaimed dungeoncrawler turn-based strategy where you hire and control a team of "heroes" (aka mercenaries) to clear your late ancestor's estate from several different flavors of eldritch horrors leftover from his gruesome experimentation. Stellar voice acting by Wayne June. Make sure to pick up all the DLCs and the soundtrack! I'm annoyed that a bug won't let me play this anymore, but glad I at least got to beat it, first. Sequel available on EPIC Games, to be released on Steam...Eventually...
Dead Space 1 & 2 - You've already heard about it, so I don't need to tell you these games are violent as hell, with a pretty good story, actually. I'm not including the 3rd game or the 2023 remake because I haven't played them.
DEFCON - Real-time strategy inspired by 1980s cold war movies. Take control of one or more nation's nuclear arsenal and lay waste to your enemies before they scour you from existence. Emotional in a meta way - Actual studied have been done on this game and it's effect on people.
Doki Doki Literature Club - Don't let it's saccharine facade fool you, this game is an emotional roller-coaster with themes of existentialism. Still has an active fanbase, apparently, and it's free to play! The ending credits song is pretty good, too. May contain brief moments of poetry.
DUSK - One of the granddaddies of the Boomer Shooter Revival of the 2020s. Play as a nameless protagonist labeled DUSK Dude as you run and gun your way through 30-odd levels of blood-soaked rural Pennsylvania and beyond. Multiplayer is possible, but good luck finding any public games. Published by New Blood.
Duskers - Roomba-powered survival-exploration-real-time-strategy game where you control a number of drones to explore abandoned spaceships. Search the wrecks for resources to keep yourself and your drones alive and uncorrupted data to try and glean some information as to why you seem to be the last person in the universe. Oh...And watch out for the...Anomalies.
FAItH: The Unholy Trinity - Critically-acclaimed Atari-style horror game trilogy finally released in its entirety. Play as a priest in 1987 Connecticut as you set out to finish what you started a year ago, and gradually find yourself drawn into all the evil of the Satanic Panic. Published by New Blood.
Farcry 3 - Play as a college yuppie kidnapped by pirates on an island, rescued by the islanders, and use all the guns and drugs you can find to rescue your friends. Liberate the island one fort at a time, and uncover the secrets that have lain dormant within the jungle - And within yourself.
Gone Home - Relaxing walking simulator where you play as a college student just returned home, searching her parents' abandoned home for your sister. Fill in the story bit by bit through finding old documents and having brief auditory flashbacks. A story about growing up and discovering one's self. I haven't played this in a few years so this summary is just from memory. I intend to play it again soon.
Hotline Miami 1 & 2 - Top-down arcade-style massacre simulator. Play as a nameless person taking orders from mysterious voicemails and murdering buildings full of Russian mobsters while wearing animal masks. Sequel adds more of the same, but this time with an actual story, additional characters, and an included comic book. Amazing soundtrack. Published by Devolver Digital.
Inscryption - Meta card-based strategy game. Uncover the secrets behind a mysterious floppy disk found in the woods. Don't want to spoil anything, but it's about 3x bigger than it initially appears. Created by Daniel Mullens. Great for people who enjoy tabletop games. Fantastic ambiance. Don't google it or you'll spoil the whole game.
Killing Floor 2 - Great game, but I'm bitter that I can't run it on my computer anymore, so I won't spend too much time writing about it. So-op first-person wave-based-shooter. Ruthlessly French, at times.
Lakeview Valley - Serial killer simulator where you try to get away scot-free with murdering a whole goddamn town full of people. I got a bad ending, last time I played, and I was too bitter to go back and try for a better one. Can be pretty thrilling, trying to get away with each and every kill. Alternately, you could not murder anyone and just be a good neighbor. Whatever.
Manhunt - Extremely contentious and often banned stealth-'em-up murder game. Play as an "exonerated" death row inmate and earn your freedom as a snuff film star by murdering every single goddamn person you come across in one of 3 increasingly gruesome ways per weapon. Gunplay is a little...Crap. Personally, I prefer the sequel, but you can only get Manhunt 2 on Wii, and all the executions are "censored." Manhunt 1 on Steam is good to go, though (aside from an easily fixed bug in the first level.) Very violent. Story's alright. Published by Rockstar back when they had some balls.
Mother Russia Bleeds - Krokodil-fueled sidescrolling beat-'em-up that takes place during the Russian Revolution (I don't know which one). Gameplay is...Alright. Probably best played with a controller, and very violent. Co-op multiplayer is couch-style ONLY, so don't expect to get any help from your online friends list. Published by Devolver Digital. Reviewed by Boris.
Omen Exitio: Plague - Text-based visual(?) novel that puts you into the shoes of an 18th(?) century doctor on his adventures as he investigates a mysterious disease cropping up around the world, as well as the cult that seems to be after him. Lovecraftian themes, and surprisingly enjoyable. I recommend you Min/Max whatever stats you pick. There's been a free DLC released, but I haven't played it. Has its emotional parts; I wouldn't mind having this as a regular book.
Postal 2 - Play as a perfectly sane and normal Dude in Paradise, Arizona as he goes about his chores throughout the course of a week. First-person shooter (or not, if you're a tryhard) that never takes itself seriously in the slightest. Peak mid-2000s "deliberately offensive" humor. Includes free "Apocalypse Weekend" DLC. Developers recommend players skip Postal 3 and go straight to Postal 4, for a sequel (neither of which have I played, unfortunately).
Project Zomboid - Arguably the best and more realistic zombie apocalypse game in existence at present. Play as...Well, whoever you want, trying (you will fail) to survive the zombie apocalypse. There is no mystery, there is no story, there is no escape. This is how you die. The only thing that matters is how long that takes and how many Steam Workshop mods you can run at once without breaking the game entirely. Build 42 to be released soon!
Prototype - Play as Alex Mercer, a dude who doesn't remember shit about shit but has woken up with some gnarly shapeshifting superpowers at the beginning of a massive biological outbreak. Use your powers to stealth and murder your way toward understanding the truth as to what's going on and what happened to you. Gain additional tidbits of lore by literally eating people's brains. Fun and tasty! 1 or 2 sequels released, but I haven't played them.
The Forest - Canadian wilderness survival simulator. Survive a plane crash and get repeatedly assaulted by the roving bands of cave-dwelling cannibals and their monstrous allies. Search for your son and uncover the truth as to the horrors that took place on the peninsula. Sequel to be released soon!
The Miskatonic - Cute little visual novel inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft. Not violent at all, but deals massive emotional damage when you learn that the creator has severed all ties with the project and any hope of a sequel. Contains brief female nudity and some written innuendo. I think I used to follow this developer on DeviantArt?
The Walking Dead Season 1 & 2 - Story-driven game that takes place in the universe of but is separate from the story of the titular show and graphic novel. Face the trials and tribulations that come with the collapse of civilization during the zombie apocalypse, and adopt (and later play as) a kid as you try to keep her and yourself alive. Decisions have lasting effects that extend even between games. Can get very emotional, at times.
ULTRAKILL - Classic blood-soaked boomer shooter that is still being worked on today! Play as a robot designated V1 in a world where humanity is dead, blood is fuel, and Hell is full. Delve through an interpretation of Dante's Inferno on a mission to quench your insatiable thirst for blood from all the sinners residing there. Extremely creative level design, addictive gameplay, and the community is full of femboys? extremely active, even so far as one of the voice actors regularly engaging with streams and memes in character! Story is there, but not super important, if it doesn't matter to you. Max0r has done 2 videos so far reviewing the game, much to the delight of the community. Published by New Blood.
That's all I got, for now. I can make more recommendations, if you're looking for other specific kinda of games, but I'm limited by what I own and can play.
GGRR GRRR BITE BITE YES YES YES

Hey! You know how there's this long endless debate of natural born genius vs genius (made) of hardwork? And also (usually in fiction) a natural born genius who works hard, like a perfect package? I wanted to ask, which category do you think Todoroki, Bakugou, and Midoriya fall under respectively? Btw I just read WITVOK and it's amazing 👏🏼
hi anon this ask is so fun actually bc shonen is full of ✨prodigies✨ esp when you have magic powers involved so it really complicates the discussion around effortless v effort-driven genius
also thanks for appreciating valley of kings (my titles are all so long lol) i swear there are updates in the making
regarding the trio:
bakugou is probably the easiest! horikoshi specifically made him a natural born prodigy, ie he is good at everything from birth and also has genetic luck w his very good quirk. a lot of his skills are born of instinct and smarts that he seems to have always possessed. that being said, he is very clearly an extremely hard worker (at least at UA) since he’s always pushing to be the best ™ so there is an element of effort there that elevates whatever comes to him naturally. that’d be your perfect package, i think.
midoriya fittingly falls on the flipside in that his genius comes a lot more from effort than anything else. we’re literally meant to see him as a failcringe quirkless loser at the start of the story, after all, and he’s behind bakugou at everything as kids- athletic abilities, reading, social skills... what he does have going for him is that he seems inherently clever, but to play devil’s advocate i would say a lot of what people qualify as his intelligence in-show is actually also the result of effort, since he’s shown to have been intensely studying all things hero/quirk/fighting related since a very young age, and memorizing/dissecting these things has made him a very strategic player. in any event he’s absolutely the hardworking genius, give or take a convenient deus ex quirk!
todoroki, then, seems tempting to label as natural born genius and complete the three categories, and on first glance that would appear correct. he’s the one who has the most OP engineered quirk from birth, he seems innately talented/comfortable with said quirk (contrast dabi and shouto’s early days training), and once you get past the mental block of his father’s abuse (an exterior influence) almost above everyone else his quirk use and time at UA seems effortless. think back to earliest canon with him freezing that whole building in the hero v villain exercise without batting a lash. he never seems to break a sweat in the physical exercises, he seems very comfortable academically, his cool personality keeps him level-headed in stress, and his instincts seem really honed to heroism without his putting much into it. of course he works hard too, but more than anyone else it feels more like perfecting a pretty stellar roster of abilities than creating any new ones.

Hi , i love your blog. Everything always looks so perfect. So i wanted to ask you for some advice, i am an IMG , and have recently done my residency(medicine) back in my home country In south east Asia. So my background knowledge is not so bad. Life happened (some not so good events) and i needed to move to US. I dont think am in for studying for step 1 right now but i think i ll be able to study for step 2 CK. I wanted to ask you if one can do well on step 2 ck by doing uworld. I am worried the most about pedes gyne surgery, cuz its been a while i have studied these subjects. Could you please recommend what extra sources should i use for pedes gyn surgery. And if those are as heavily tested on ck as medicine. Any advice on sources , timeline or anything really would be helpful. This is the only social media platform i av right now and i dont know who else to ask. I would be really grateful for any advice.
Hi!
UWorld is the main question bank that US med students use to study for USMLE step 2 CK. It is a great learning tool because the question/answer explanations are very thorough.
Medicine is about 50-60% of the exam, Surgery is 25-30%, Pediatrics is 20-25%, OB Gyn is 10-20%, and Psychiatry is 10-15%.
For surgery, I recommend De Virgilio's case book; the surgery portion of the exam is less about the actual surgeries and more about medical management of pre- and post-op, and indications for surgery.
I didn't have a very good resource to study for Pediatrics or OB Gyn, but recommend looking on Reddit for ideas. You don't need an account to do so. Search for posts about what helped people succeed on their shelf exams during third year, since those are specialty-specific resources.
One IMG I know who is in Internal Medicine residency in the US told me his study strategy was to complete UWorld and then do the entire Amboss question bank over several days prior to his exam because he just used a free trial period lol. I know other US students who did both question banks and got great scores (260+) as well.
I hope this is helpful! Best of luck in studying for your Step exams and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any more questions, I'll try my best to answer or point you towards helpful resources. :)

"Mapping the Future: Navigating the Course to Dream University"
Hello there! I am Vyomkesh Ajay Walanju, an undergraduate student studying Recreation and Sports Business at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Hope you are well and find this blog useful if you're planning your education overseas for the first time in your life. Getting to study abroad is an outstanding achievement for anyone and the excitement and joy you're filled with when you get the offer letter in your hand or by email cannot be explained, I can understand the joy you are feeling right now, and I am proud of you for making it this far. I still remember the day I got my offer letter from the University of Waterloo. I was screaming in my house that I got accepted into one of the best universities but for this to happen, I worked hard and prepared myself for a few things academically and mentally. The reason why I am writing these blogs is because I didn't have much guidance on how to prepare for my IELTS nor did I know how to do things properly in University as it was my first time trying to manage things on my own. It was a rollercoaster ride for me, especially during my first term. As an international student, I want to share some experiences I had and hopefully help you guys when you will be commencing your first year of University. Now you must be wondering, why I chose the University of Waterloo? So it began with a passion for basketball that I wanted to pursue and was interested in understanding how sports events get marketed and what happens behind the scenes, etc. I was more inclined toward Sports Management but in India, basketball isn't very popular neither is the awareness about sports management. When someone here's the word sports management in India, "You just have to play all day, right?". That was my realization that I am not studying sports management here. While I was applying for universities in Canada, most of my friends from Discord recommended that I should keep the University of Waterloo as an option. When I looked up Recreation and Sports Business they had so many options on which classes I could take which is a plus point. I could learn marketing, leisure, health classes, and so much more! They also had a co-op where you can apply for jobs and have work terms. Co-op is basically where you have study terms and work terms, it allows you to work while studying. My counsellor told me that the University of Waterloo where I wanted to get into was tough and my chances to get in were low. I had the grades and a good score in my IELTS  but in the end, it all came down to luck. During my application process for this University, I had to fill out parts A and B which described my personality and showed that the major focus is on human aspects rather than just marks. To be very realistic, my expectations were low and I applied to a few more universities like the University of Brock and the University of Guelph. Then one day, just a week before my birthday, my mom came into my room and asked me to check my OUAC account where you send applications and also receive offer letters from Universities, I told my mom that I don't think I'll get an offer letter from the University of Waterloo, my mom insisted and was like 'might as well check'. I logged in and then scrolled down to the offer letter section and when I saw that I had an offer letter from the University of Waterloo, then I said, 'Oh snap' and  I screamed and I realized that I got a birthday present before my birthday.
Well, here we are and that is it for my opening blog! As this is my first blog, bear with me a little as I am still learning how to write and hopefully, my blogs may help you a little to get through your University. Hope you enjoy reading this one! Please stay tuned for the next one!

皆さん、今日は授業(じゅぎょう)の最終日(さいしゅうび)だった。すごく悲しかった😭😭😭😭。I will actually miss my friends so much. 2 are going away on co-op for the summer and fall semester :(((((( 😭😭😭😭it's so sad
This weekend was crazy. Unfortunately I can't say everything that happened here but just know it was bonkers.
Then we just walked around and hung out for a few hours. とても楽しかった。
日曜日:宿題をして、Cさんに会った。
Anyways, today in class we just did a review of our recent grammar points as well as an application performance. She asked us
Q:夏休みはどこかに行くつもりですか。
To which i responded
A:家に帰るつもりです。
Q:家はどこですか。
A:アルバニーです。
Q:どうやってアルバニーに行くつもりですか。
A:くるまで行きます。
Q:どのぐらいかかりますか。
A:三時間半かかります。
Or something like that lmao.
She then gave us a review sheet of the grammar notes and we were on our merry way.
And just like that, it was over.
Thankfully, we took a class photo (minus a few people unfortunately) but it'll be a while before I see everyone together like that again.
I want to thank the people who've been sticking around with me and these silly little posts. I never thought I'd do something like this and I'm proud of how far I've come.
Next, I'd like to thank my sister for her continued support. Your kind words encouraged me to keep going.
And finally, I'd like to thank all the friends I've made this whole year. I couldn't have done this without you. You all mean the world to me. I look forward to our shenanigans when we meet again. A special shout out to Bさん、Nさん、Mさん、 and Cさん。We've been through thick and thin together and I am eternally grateful for you. I wish you all the best on your finals and summer exploits.
Bさん and Cさん、I wish you both the best on your co-ops. May you learn a lot. I look forward to seeing you again next spring semester.
I may post throughout the summer but it won't be as often as I am now. I'll make sure to study hard so I can talk to you all better.
Time to destroy the (two) finals I have. Good luck on your finals, Readerさん。
And so, for one final song of the day,
今日の歌はThe Heanacat - 「さようなら」です。
さようなら。いつかまた会いましょう。<3

Could give tips for someone who is writing her first fanfics?
i've got 3 major things to consider and i tried making it easier to do because i have the tendency to get stuck on planning too much that i don't get to the content itself.
brief and straight to the point plot: the primary consideration ofc is how would you like the story to go. it doesn't need to be v long. even three sentences would do. i suggest cutting this one into 3 parts: setting, conflict, resolution. usually these 3 would do the talking and you just need to worry about executing the premise properly.
characterization: basic info and introspection! i think this one is very important if it's a multi-chaptered story. it's to avoid the tendency to (1) make the characters off and (2) the story line inconsistent. also, having this can have your characters do the act instead of you dictating them — you can refer to fandom wiki!
ex. if x happened how would y react? i want y to act on this by ___ but according to her charac sketch she would most likely behave like ___ instead
chapters study: this one's optional but it makes everything easier. i often get uninterested working on some parts and would very much prefer writing a scene from the future instead. so when i finally get to that future chapter, it's easier to finish because i alr have an established outline and/or drabbles. maybe thats why i tend to update more frequently.
heavy paragraph notes of these 3 things just make things harder because it's difficult to browse (or maybe it's just me) so it'd be much better to make them as brief as possible.
and wahsjas english isn't my first language so dictionary & thesaurus is my best friend
if it's aot centric fic, i have personal preferences to consider as well! this is mostly in canon-compliant/divergent types tho
i prefer the reader's characterization having a quite realistic touch esp with their emotional responses i guess? maybe because readers are like normal people in essence, just transported into the canon setting. it's also better if the insert isn't OP. or if it is, it should be well explained and characterized. it's aot after all, a series that doesn't hesitate to kill humans with or without strength and powers.
stick to canon character's study
ex. erwin being an extremely good and gentle guy who is often characterized as "look imma tell you something i haven't even told levi/hange without apparent rational reason. just because i quite like u." while i can also see his gentle side, erwin smith is a strategic, secretive, and ruthless character first and foremost! it's very imperative to include that and not just enclose him to some potentially softer man than levi. i can spot this in other characters as well.
aot basically designed all of the canon characters as awfully flawed and sometimes irrational individuals. as much as the author would highlight their good side, i would prefer if they could treat their flaws as equal.
i have no general standards with au because it's pretty much in the author's discretion and different world setting warrants different attitude (but i still prefer characs having slight similarities with their canon counterparts)
that's pretty much all of it! for me as long as it's well executed it's fine. and despite writing this, i still end up liking reader insert fics nonetheless just because of the tropes and tags (ˆ ڡ ˆ) as long as i found the theme that i want to read, inconsistencies don't matter that much. it's the effort that counts and i'm still thankful the author shared their work with me and i get to enjoy their content. good luck on your writing project and you can message me if you have more questions!
