This is a nod to their actors' other roles: Hailee Steinfeld was Gwen Stacey in "Into the Spiderverse" and Will Friedle who is Bumblebee's VA in Transformers Prime and Robots in Disguise was also Terry McGinnis(Batman) in Batman Beyond.

I was specifically looking at Batman Beyond's batmobile for Bee's possible alt mode.
