From thigh-to-thigh, you took up the whole space and Gyomei could have you on his lap in this fashion without you spilling off onto the ground, thanks to his enormous size

Gyomei was awoken by your hysterical crying and it sent him to spiral of alerted thinking, charging through his Estate’s hallways with his weapon and guards all the way up in preparation to crush in the demon but no. You weren’t being attacked by a demon unjustly, you were squeaking in horror at… the sounds of the thunderstorm

Now, that makes a lot more sense than he had ever suspected… you’re always safe from demons but the weather is blaring and irritating

Gyomei had dropped his weapon instantly and approached you, brushing a hand over your back softly to pick you up and lay in his lap, flash forward to the current state with your lovely father patting your head and back, showing zero signs of exhaustion despite both of you being up so early in the morning.

He didn’t even care how early it may be. He only cares to make his beloved child sleep peacefully so it doesn’t matter how many hours it takes to put you to sleep again as he continued to stroke your hair in a calm and calculated pattern, slightly massaging your skull with skilful fingers. You’re so precious…

Your terrified hiccups and sobs died out throughout the minutes Gyomei stayed still with you propped up in his lap and his hands comfortingly stroking your body as to truly sign to you he will always be around to protect you. From absolutely anything that scares you and you always knew that

Gyomei nursed you everytime you had even so much as a bleeding scratch, Gyomei always helped you get through the foods you didn’t like. He is so soft and gentle, you love him so much

As you felt your exhaustion kick in with your intense fear over the thunderstorm fading alongside the booming strikes of thunder, Gyomei couldn’t help but smile at you as he picked you up from laying down to prop up on his chest and cuddled him. He didn’t need to be able to see you to know you’re such a cutie. You felt even more safe and comforted in your father’s huge warm arms…

As the night wore on, the atmosphere grew livelier. Laughter and animated conversations filled the air as everyone all enjoyed each other's company. Kanae and Shinobu were engrossed in their own conversation, their smiles lighting up their faces. They seemed to be catching up on each other's lives, sharing stories and laughing at inside jokes.

Meanwhile, Gyomei, with his gentle demeanor, was surrounded by his beloved cats. It was a common sight in his residence, as he had a deep affection for feline companions. The cats were happily nestled on his lap and shoulders, seemingly enjoying his comforting presence.

Mitsuri and Obanai, known for their close bond, were cuddling together. Their affectionate gestures reflected their deep connection, and they seemed content just being in each other's arms. The love and warmth they shared were evident to everyone around them.

Uzui and you sat together, savoring the taste of sake and engaging in lively conversation. Uzui, with his flamboyant personality, regaled you with tales of his recent missions and exploits.

While Muichiro leaned against your back, feeling his presence and the warmth between you. While he was absorbed in his phone, he occasionally interrupted his gaming sessions to show you something amusing, eliciting shared laughter between the two of you. Despite being engrossed in playing games, but he still listened attentively to the ongoing conversation.

It amazed you how Uzui effortlessly polished off bottle after bottle without showing any signs of intoxication. You chuckled to yourself, realizing that despite your decent alcohol tolerance, you were no match for the impressive drinking prowess of Uzui. The sight of him downing yet another bottle made you sweat drop in disbelief.

On the other hand, you took small, measured sips of your drink, aiming to maintain your composure throughout the evening. While you could handle alcohol relatively well, you didn't want to risk losing control or becoming too intoxicated.

Your conversation with Uzui carried on amidst the vibrant atmosphere of the night. The air was filled with cheerful chatter, creating a warm ambiance for everyone. Uzui's eyes caught sight of your empty cup, and he promptly grabbed the opportunity to refill it.

"You should drink more, Y/n. We don't often have the chance to go out like this," Uzui suggested, his voice filled with genuine enthusiasm.

You couldn't help but sweat drop, realizing your inability to deter him as he poured the contents to the brim, filling your cup once again. With a nervous chuckle, you glanced at the full cup, unsure of how much more you could handle.

Muichiro noticed your hesitation, gently setting his phone aside as he rested his chin on your shoulder. "You don't have to push yourself, Y/n. Let Uzui get drunk by himself." he said, playfully sticking his tongue out at the ninja who responded with a twitch of his eye.

In contrast to you and Uzui, Muichiro had opted for drinking juice instead. Despite being of legal drinking age, he chose not to partake in alcohol. You weren't aware of the specific reason behind his abstinence, but you speculated that it could be due to a personal preference or perhaps he simply didn't enjoy the taste of sake.

As you reached out to grab your drink, your hand accidentally collided with Muichiro's, who was preoccupied with his phone and not paying attention to where his hand was going.

"Ah, sorry," he mumbled apologetically, glancing up at you.

You smiled, understanding that it was an innocent mistake. "Ahaha, it's alright, no need to worry," you reassured him, realizing that you had inadvertently grabbed the cup closest to him, assuming it was his, in an attempt to rectify the situation.

Both you and Muichiro took a sip from the cup simultaneously, expecting the familiar taste of sake, you were taken aback by the unexpected burst of sweetness that flooded your taste buds. The unusual flavor caused you to choke slightly, caught off guard by the unfamiliar sensation.

"Wh— This isn't mine," you muttered, puzzled, you brought the cup closer to your nose, trying to identify the source of the sudden sweetness. As you inhaled, the aroma confirmed your suspicions—it wasn't sake in the cup. Blinking in confusion. Then, it dawned on you, and you quickly turned your back, almost snapping your head in the process.

"M-Mui, I think our cups got switched—" you faltered when you noticed that he had already consumed the contents of the cup, the liquid completely gone. Your voice trailed off, realizing that he had inadvertently drunk the sake intended for you.

Muichiro's eyes widened in realization, his gaze fixed on the empty cup before him. He resembled an innocent child, blinking in surprise at his unintentional mistake. Silence lingered for a moment as both of you processed the situation, the realization sinking in.

“M-Mui…?” Your voice trembled with concern as you called out to him.

Panic surged through you as you watched Muichiro gulp down the entire contents of the cup in one go, a drink that you knew contained a much stronger alcohol content than what he was used to. Uzui, however, seemed thoroughly entertained by the unfolding scene, his amusement evident in his eyes and mischievous smile.

"Oi, Tokito," Uzui called out, snapping his fingers in front of Muichiro, his attempts to get Muichiro's attention were met with indifference, as if Muichiro was in a trance-like state. "WOI." Or that he was being deliberately ignored.

"M-Muichiro?" you called out instead, it was only when you called out his name that he finally snapped out of his daze, his gaze shifting towards you. The realization hit that he seemed to respond only to your voice, tuning out the others around him.

"...?" Muichiro tilted his head in response, a silent communication passed between you. His action seemed to convey that he had indeed heard you, despite his lack of verbal response.

The unspoken connection between you intrigued and captivated you, as you found yourself drawn to this side of him that was both unusual and endearing.

As the effects of the alcohol took their toll on Muichiro, it became evident that he was indeed drunk. However, unlike the typical behavior associated with drunkenness, Muichiro didn't start rambling or behaving erratically. Instead, he maintained a semblance of his usual self, albeit in a slightly airy and dazed state.

His demeanor seemed almost ethereal, as if he were in a world of his own, disconnected from the immediate surroundings. His usually focused and composed nature took on a dreamlike quality, giving him an otherworldly aura.

You observed him closely, noting the subtle changes in his behavior and mannerisms. Despite being under the influence, Muichiro appeared to retain a sense of calmness and tranquility, his actions carrying a certain grace even in his altered state.

“Y/n, try to hold out your hand.” Curiosity piqued, you complied with Uzui's suggestion and held out your hand, not fully aware of his intentions but willing to play along.

“What now?” Opening your hand, you turned back to Uzui, awaiting further instructions.

Before you could fully process what was happening, you felt a warm hand being placed on top of yours. Startled by the unexpected sensation, you instinctively jolted back, momentarily taken aback. You looked down to find Muichiro's hand resting innocently on top of yours, his gaze fixated on the connection between your hands.

A small, grin played on your lips as you couldn't help but find the situation endearing. Muichiro, in his drunken state, resembled a puppy, obediently following the cues and gestures of those around him. The image brought a surge of warmth and affection, and you had to cover your grin with your other hand to prevent it from showing.

The comparison between Muichiro and a puppy filled your mind, evoking an overwhelming sense of adorableness. His innocent and trusting nature, combined with his dazed demeanor, seemed to mirror that of a loyal canine companion. It was a thought that both amused and delighted you. Biting back the urge to let out a squeal of delight at the sight.

The mischievous glint in Uzui's eyes became apparent, and a knowing smile played on his lips as he observed the unfolding scene. He had likely orchestrated this moment.

“You look like you’re enjoying yourself there, Y/n.” Uzui playfully taunted, taking a sip from his cup.

“S-Shut up…” You muttered; your voice slightly muffled as you tried to suppress the widening grin on your face. Muichiro's unexpected compliance and departure from his usual icy and impassive self-had caught you off guard, and you couldn't help but find it endearing.

The fact that Muichiro, in his drunken state, seemed so readily responsive and willing to follow your lead only added to the amusement and warmth you felt. It was as if the alcohol had unlocked a side of him that rarely made an appearance.

As Muichiro's tranquil, wide eyes met yours, his soft minty gaze seemed to hold a gentle curiosity. His head tilted slightly, his brows furrowing as he tried to comprehend the reason behind your flustered state. okay so it’s like completely normal ya know?? the main three getting bullied by their teachers and struggling with homework

but the school has a super cool and awesome secret— and that’s that the school has a youtube channel for some reason idk

the content isn’t really school related at all, it’s just— staff having fun and being silly(ex. The Boys and The Group Chat on youtube :3)because i feel like the students forget that their teachers are like— mostly in their early twenties.

it’s literally whiplash that zenitsu, tanjiro and inosuke got when they first found the youtube channel. they saw sanemi and obanai having FUN and SMILING and LAUGHING— shocking

also yes giyuu does actually smile canonically in kimetsu academy #thats adorable

back to the silly content, it consists of some reaction shit and irl silly hangouts and games they make

giyuu (unfortunately) is the mf that gets peer pressured into playing the horror games. he’s the only one that was willing (forced) to play. he’s really good at them but he is SKITTISH and gets scared easily— long story short he’s a pussy when it comes to games. tengen and kyojuro are the ones that join him the most

also uno is banned from being played in the school grounds, they got too violent and tengen had some explosives on hand

How would the hashira react to a clingy child reader

Giyuu

you’re a child so he doesn’t think much of you being clingy

Most times he just sort of picks you up and holds you in silence

If you or someone else looks closely there’s always a glimpse of happiness in his eyes when he does this

This act of automatically picking you up, once got him “caught” in-front of the other hashira and they all just stared at him in a weird sense of shock

Mitsuri

She thinks this is adorable

She absolutely does your hair, short or long it doesn’t matter

She lets you swing off her arm (like her dad did for her)

If you’re a constantly clingy child she takes you out to eat most nights she has off, and loves to try new things with you

Also she holds you a lot, like if she could she would hold you forever

Tengen

He thinks it’s cute that you follow in his every footstep, literally sometimes

Like sometimes when he does his “flashy” pose you stand behind him copying his different movements

He likes to pick you up and throw you up on his shoulder especially in the entertainment district (because no kidnapping today thank you) if anyone asks why he carries you that way, he says “because it’s the flashiest way obviously.”

If he happens to be busy he hands you to his wives and they play with you until you all pass out in a cuddle pile, when he finds you all like this he quickly takes a picture ( I don’t care if there weren’t mobile phones/cameras if it bothers you it would be a mental picture) and then lays down with all of you

Obanai

Since you’re a child fine “but only because Mitsuri and Kaburamaru like you” is his excuse

He will join if Mitsuri or you ask him specifically to play or do something

He’ll never admit it but he loves these moments with you

Sometimes on weekends he has off he takes you to a really tall tree, climbs it with you, and just sits there holding you. Both of you almost wish those moments would last forever

Shinobu

You’re a child so she thinks it’s really sweet and doesn’t mind you tugging on her at all

If you get hurt she personally helps you and gives you a treat or prize at the end

She likes to go out and play with you in the butterfly gardens making flower crowns and such with kanao

One day she came home and gave you a matching butterfly hair clip and you’ve worn it ever since

Murichiro

He hates your constant tugging at his sleeves and hair at first

But he soon realizes the longer he ignores you, the worse that the tugging gets and he eventually caves in

In his free time he likes to play games, and every time you have to re-teach him your favorite patty cake game even if he remembers it’s become a tradition

He also like to play tag and hide-and-go-seek, sometimes he’s so good at hiding you don’t find him for a week

Whenever he comes back from long missions he brings you back hair pins or other trinkets in two or more colors since he can’t remember your favorite color (at least he tries)

Sanemi

Since you’re a child he doesn’t completely mind, he wishes you would stop following him everywhere though

He told you to stop once, but he unconsciously yelled and you started crying so he gave up

He picks you up and carries you around but never in front of anyone especially the other hashira (come on he has an ego to protect)

You like to ask him how he got certain scars and he tells the story on any you point out, even if he obviously exaggerates the story you still love hearing about all his adventures

Gyomei

He doesn’t mind you at all he finds you adorable even if he can’t see you

With how tall he is you love climbing on his shoulders and looking around

You pretty much try and stick by his side 24/7 like if he’s alone for more than five minutes people should start to worry

When he’s on missions and you’re forced to stay convince other people to make one of his favorite foods every time without fail

Rengoku

He adores the fact that you follow him around like a lost puppy

He loves to carry you around in a variety of different ways, honestly you might never have to walk again if it weren’t for his missions

One time before he left you begged him to stay (obviously he couldn’t) but he brought you back a puppy/kitten to make up for it (you totally named it donut)

He often plays games with you and Senjuro, one time you scared them by going inside to get a snack and forgot you were playing outside with them

Anytime he’s out you collect little flower bouquets to give him when he gets back

KNY Swap Au Ramblings P2

I've seen a lot of others make their own versions of a swap au and I wanted to create one too just for fun. None of this is cannon, and not everyone will be swapped out and it'll have my own twists on things. And have some things added for new story elements.

Most of the role swaps I've seen are usually with either Sanemi and Genya or Gyutaro and Ume replacing Nezuko and Tanjiro. Or the rolls are swapped with Tanjiro being the demon instead. But for this I'm swapping out the Kamado Siblings for the Tokito Twins. I won't go into depth about everyone but I will give important differences to the story.

WARNINGS: Mentioning of killing, death, regular demon slayer content, etc.

EDIT: If you don't agree with any of the placements or head cannons that's fine. This is only my take on things.

Some people liked my Swap Demons concept so I decided to do a second but with the Swap Haishira. If you don't agree with the placements or headcannons like before that's fine. And again not everyone will be swapped out or changed.

I based Swap Muzan partially on the swap au headcannons by @demonslayedher on Tumblr.

MASTER MUZAN KIBUTSUJI AND HIS FAMILY:

Honestly not much about him as a person has changed. He's still very much scheming, cunning, smart, strategic, and has a temper. The only difference is that he doesn't really y'know kill, eat, and murder people like Cannon Muzan. He runs the Demon Slayer corps like a smart well oiled machine and somehow he's very good at it. Of course not many people in the corps have the mind to oppose him with his temper and hatred for being tested. Despite his... personality, he's a very efficient planner and more than once some of his plans have worked in stopping demons. Despite his own short comings and the disease he has, his abilities to run the corps effectively has earned him the loyalty of most of the slayers. Even if not everyone likes him as a person they can admit he's an efficient leader. He may not always be understanding but he's smart enough to know how to approach sensitive topics and deal with the consequences that comes with having slayers and being the leader of the corps.

Not much of the disease has changed. The only difference is that he has it in this timeline instead of Kagaya.

His wife, Rei Kibutsuji, is the one who helps run the corps if her husband's disease is too much for him to deal with that day. She was engaged to Muzan when they were both sixteen due to her family's various connections to resources and married at eighteen. Her family's various connections and resources has been a great help to the corps. Providing various medications for them to experiment with to combat the disease plauging the Kibutsuji family for generations, secret hiding courters for various slayers in the areas, Intel, and other things which helps. Her more level headed calm persona often helps to balance her husband's temper and her insight to various situations and things help him to make better choices in some instances. She is almost like a mother figure to the younger slayers in the corps and many respect her opinions on difficult situations.

They both have a single daughter, Muzan's heir, around the age of ten. Not much is known about her but she's very wise for her age and attends the final selection in place of her mother if she cannot spare a moment from her father otherwise she is always by her father's side helping him. Her first name is unknown to everyone but her parents and is a well guarded secret for security measures. Most call her by her given title of 'Young Kibutsuji'.

HAISHIRA DOUMA:

Honestly Douma as a character and personality wise does not change one bit. He is still emotionless, apathetic, and everyone still dislikes him. But his story changes slightly as a slayer. His parents were originally followers of Gyomei's cult and upon his birth believed to be blessed by the gods with such a beautiful child. Thus child Douma became the (sideshow-) poster child whenever his parents went out with others to spread the 'good word' of Gyomei's eternal paradise cult. When he was about 8 the same instances occur in cannon. Douma's mother finds her husband cheating with other follower while out trying to recruit more followers. After killing her husband and his affair partner she took her own life leaving Douma just... standing there. Awkwardly just staring. Before just leaving to just...wonder aimlessly really for a long time until after a long time he's attacked by a demon in the mountains after attempting to seek shelter in a shrine as it was something familiar to him. A fight insued in which he nearly died if Urokodaki hadn't come along, he may be retired but he could still slay a low level demon in self defense if needed. The man is surely confused by why such a young child is here by himself, but is even more shocked by the fact he didn't show any emotion at almost getting killed by a demon. Unsure of what exactly else to do, Urokodaki decides to take him under his wing for now.

Later he did end up later learning water breathing techniques from Urokodaki along with Hakuji, and two other boys named Sabito and Giyuu who both went missing or died in their final selection. During his training Douma has formed a personal breathing style derived from Water Breathing known as Ice breathing which match his cold personality. Strongest Haishira which makes Hakuji angry. Actually was the one who ended up recruiting Gyutaro into the slayers after finding both himself and Ume in the entertainment district during a mission. He doesn't have any real reason to be a slayer other than it gives him some kind of purpose. Personally no one really likes him except for Gyutaro whom is grateful for the help he's received from him. Muzan only hasn't gotten rid of him yet because he's a honestly a very powerful force on the battlefield.

Was actually the one who found the brothers in the mountains while tracking down a powerful demon and took pity on them after seeing Yuichiro's unnatural demon behavior. That's what you're supposed to do right? Help others! He was nearly executed by Akaza for his actions at the next Haishira meeting.

HAISHIRA HAKUJI A.K.A AKAZA:

Not much changes a lot about Akaza's backstory other than instead of poison Koyuki and her father were slain by demons instead of poison. Shocked, in grief, and filled with rage Akaza began hunting demons down on his own. He was unaware that a demon Slayer corps existed at the time until he also ended up just coming across Urokodaki in a similar fashion to how Douma was. Similar to Douma, Akaza developed his own Snow Breathing style derived from water Breathing, and fights a mixture of using his blade and his own physical body up close to deal damage with brass knuckles embedded with Nichirin spikes if demons are close enough. His previous martial art skills helps him to be flexible and untouchable in battle. Despite studying under the same teacher and both having breathing styles derived from water breathing, Akaza HATES Douma. He hates his fake personality and how he acts all buddy, buddy to him. His mission is to eradicate the demon king and avenge Koyuki's death. The most loyal to Master Muzan. Akaza respects his serious attitude and cunning mind.

He thinks Douma sparing Yuichiro and Muichiro was a stupid idea and has mixed feelings about it all. Much rather prefers to be around the Kamado Siblings he himself recruited.

HAISHIRA GYUTARO AND UME:

Gyutaro is actually the Haishira. Ume is works safely at the butterfly mansion with Kanao, Aoi, and Nezuko in care for the slayers and kakushi who need to heal (changing my mind on Aoi and Kanao being demons). Backstory wise everything still proceeds as is cannon. Haishira Douma happened to have stumbled across the two siblings while hunting the previous Lower Moon Three in the area at the time. Feeling sorry for the two, he brought them back with him and sorta just dropped the two in Shinobu's lap. Gyutaro is extremely grateful to Douma for helping him and when the older man expressed interest in Gyutaro's already good fighting skills, he suggested that he join the corps since he has no where else to go. Unfortunately due to Gyutaro's unusual body conditions, he wasn't able to master the breathing styles Douma tried to teach them. Shinobu in a rare form of kindness after seeing Gyutaro interactions with Ume, offered to teach him her Insect Breathing she mastered because her body also isn't as strong as most Haishira. Gyutaro is the Mantis Haishira having previously learnt insecct breathing from Shinobu before her strange disappearance. He fights using his thin but flexible body like a preying mantis striking his prey. His weapons are duel Nichirin scycles custom made from his memories of using them for his job. He is surprisingly very good at killing demons and enjoys his new purpose.

Ume is often wanting to become a slayer like her brother, but Gyutaro forbids it forcing her to stay in the butterfly mansion with the other girls out of harm's way. Not much to say about her. Her whiny personality often collides with Aoi who keeps her spoiled attitude in check when making her help around the mansion while her older brother is out slaying demons. She does get the occasional visit from the Ice Haishira tho it's rare.

RETIRED HAISHIRA NAKIME:

Again not much to say about Nakime. Y'know that guy from Dororo who can use the sword in his biwa? Yeah that's her. Retired Sound Haishira. She can still slay demons with ease however she has retired after killing the Demon Tengen and his wives with a few other Slayers and loosing her eye I the process however she remains behind in the corps to help Urokodaki and others train the new slayer recruits.

HAISHIRA HANTENGU:

Not much is known about the quadruplets and their younger brother. They were all brought in one way or another from a horrible family situation by Rei after their grandfather Hantengu had a mental break and their father Urami just up and left them all.

Sekido is the oldest one and trained with Kaigaku and Zenitsu by gramps and is a few years older than them. He and Kaigaku are always butting heads and tolerates Zenitsu only to an extent because he reminds him a smidge of Aizetsu. But otherwise he dislikes the 'whiny lightning brat'.

Aizetsu is the only current water breathing Haishira after training with Urokodaki and mastering the style. He deals with depression after everything he endured and is always worried about his brothers especially Zohakutan being the youngest.

Karaku is the current Wind Haishira. Self explanatory. Often he's paired with Sekido for missions. Despite the two brothers fighting like cats and dogs with rabies, they are surprisingly very good at fighting together during life or death situations. May or may not have a crush on someone in the corps.

Urogi is the only Hantengu brother who isn't a Haishira or Slayer. He is unable to use any breathing styles unlike his other four brothers. No one is sure why and honestly he's a little disappointed and sad, but he found a good purpose of helping to care for the many messenger crows that the corps uses. He's surprisingly very good with them and even matched many crows with their perfect match in a slayer including all of his brothers and surprisingly Akaza. Is the closest with Zohakutan as he's always the one who constantly keeps tabs on baby bro using his birds. Zoha thinks it's annoying but the comfort of having someone to fall back on for help is comforting to him.

Zohakutan so far is the youngest Haishira only a few years younger than his older brothers at 14. He's developed a breathing style all on his own Nature Breathing after his three Haishira brothers all tried training him in their own breathing styles. Somehow Zoha was able to mix the three plus add his own differences to create his own unique breathing style. It's proved to be very effective against demons. He's very loyal to Master Muzan after he let them stay and takes killing demons very seriously. Possibly more seriously than Sekido and honestly is always trying to surpass his older brothers to prove to them that they don't have to worry about him. Surprisingly he likes Tanjiro and Nezuko. Tanjiro's personality won him over and Nezuko is the little sister he never had. A lot of the time you can find him sparing with Inosuke.

SWORDSMITH GYOKKO:

Gyokko is the swordsmith who's responsible for the strange concoctions of weaponry that the current slayers use and his biggest rival is Haganezuka. While Haganezuka absolutely hates, hates, HATES Gyokko making strange weapons and for constantly tinkering with the 'true beauty of the blade', Gyokko hates that his fellow swordsmiths 'have no artistic creativity!!' Gyokko is the only swordsmith who is willing to 'get creative' and take special requests from his slayers. But because of his attitude like Haganezuka he rarely gets any requests. He personally made Akaza's Nichirin spiked brass knuckles, Douma's Nichirin fans, and Gyutaro's Nichirin scycles as they actually saw an opportunity to use his creative skills. Because of that they're his favorite Haishira but he also gets upset whenever he has to replace the unique creations he made for them. It's unclear if he is the one who made Nakime's biwa sword but as the two older people talk it's not a far off possiblity.

He doesn't just make swords and weapons. Gyokko also dabbled in pottery and has made his own monstrous mask he constantly wears. Douma has expressed the beauty in his pots and was gifted one as a result along with his battle fans. It still sits in his estate. Haganezuka and Gyokko once got into an argument where Haganezuka ended up kicking one of Gyokko's vases destroying it. That resulted in the worst fight the two had up to present day lasting for hours and ended up with both of them needing bed rest for several months. The two swordsmiths are no longer allowed within twenty feet of each other.

DOCTOR ENMU:

Enmu is by far the most hated member of the corps second to Douma...buuuut he knows his way around medicine and he owes a lot of money to Muzan so this is his way of paying it back. Despite his..'quirk' he's a competent doctor and knows a lot about anatomy. Whenever he's given a demon from final selection to disect- Study or is tasked with researching Muzan's blood and skin cells from his sickened skin, he's very creepily excited and motivated. He used to speak to Shinobu about his discoveries from dissecting demons and ask about her wysteria poisoning techniques until her mysterious disappearance. When Shinobu disappeared all of the full nursing duties became his responsibility and he took over the butterfly estate partially run by Aoi. He's since found her notebooks and journals of her experiments and continues her research. Will later assist Tamayo with her cure for demon kind.

He was hoping to study Yuichiro's body if Sekido ended up killing him but unfortunately he wasn't allowed to do anything. Still occasionally asks Muichiro for some of his brother's blood despite his disgust.

TSUNAGU KAIGAKU:

Not much changes about Kaigaku's backstory. He's a few years younger than Sekido and his brothers and two years older than Zohakutan. Like Sekido has mastered enough Thunder Breathing to become Sekido's tsunagu but not by choice. Muzan assigned Kaigaku this placement because Sekido can and WILL scare Kaigaku back into place when his ego goes unchecked including using physical punishment and harsh training when he thinks it's needed. Kaigaku HATES it and Sekido...But it's been effective and he has become more humble and has learnt to not have such a big attitude after Sekido threw him using a single hand to throw him across the room for the fifth time in one day.

Zenitsu and him fight like siblings (see Kimetsu Gauken on this-) but has learnt not to throw things at him anymore after Tanjiro headbutted him and knocked him unconscious for a few hours. Despite that he can tolerate Tanjiro and Zenitsu to an extent but always fights with Inosuke and Zohakutan. He much prefers to go on missions with Kanao and Muichiro if he's supposed to have a partner for missions as they're usually easier for him to go on missions with. Genya is like him so he can somewhat tolerate his presence if he's not being trained by someone else.

Between Sekido's harsh lessons, Muzan's scoldings, and Tanjiro's kind advise(and humbling headbutts) he's learnt to become a bit better as a person. Not a lot but better, and Tanjiro is always trying to be friends with him. There's hope for him yet.

That's it so far for my ideas on some swap Haishira. I might do a third one with my Swap headcannons for the swap Kamaboko squad and Muichiro and Yuichiro if anyone's interested in that.

Headcanon about my favorite KNY character : Shinobu Kocho !

1 - Shinobu already tried to wear heels to be taller, but since she always fall, she never tried again.

2 - When she was young, Kanae used to tell her story, and now Shinobu tells the same story to Kanao, Aoi and the butterfly sister.

3 - She always hopes for Zenitsu and Inosuke to not get hurt because she don't like having them in the butterfly mansion. They're both noisy and Shinobu like calm

4 - She once fought a guy (and won) because he said "Periods aren't that bad." She never regretted.

5 - Each year, when the day Kanae d*e arrives, Shinobu stays in her room and refuses to go on mission.

6 - Mitsuri bought them matching pyjama

7 - She's a walk faster

8 - Shinobu took care of her haori a lot, and almost cried when it got damaged.

9 - She has a notebook where she writes every t*rture method she could do to demons. Uzui once found it, he never saw her the same as before…

10 - She once dreamed about being as tall, buff and muscular as Gyomei. That was the first time she was happy being short.

11 - She hates dresses and skirts

12 - Someone already tought she was 12

13 - She often talks to her fish about her day. No one interrupts her when she does it…

14 - She has almost no memory of her parents. Her last memory about them is when they all hugged each other with Kanae 4 days before they d*e

15 - She tried to write a book, but she forgot it.

16 - Her, Kanao and Aoi often go on a walk during the day.

17 - She shared her plan with Tamayo

18 - She defends her sisters more than herself.

19 - The first time she tried alcohol, she ended up being sick

20 - She doesn't celebrate her birthday now.

Well, just a little rant of this precious little baby♡

Manga spolers

Her difference

I'm not making rules here, but she is one of the most well-written characters of the show. Literally.

Yeah, I know, I don't need argue in the comments. She doesn't have the most tragic backstory in kny. It's a fact, buut. But, her backstory is great because of how good Gotouge plays with it. In series we have a trop:

Happy family - All dead - Demon slayer Corps.

Wihtin hashiras we have 3 of them, which got through this and now have to be all alone(no family, I mean) Giyu, Muichiro and Shinobu. (There is only they 'cause, Tengen, Obanai never had a loving family, Sanemi by a start of main plot has Genya, Gyomei, Rengoku and Mitsuri have a completely different types of stories) And among this 3, Shinobu is the only one who choosed revenge.

Yup, she didn't completely forget or burry this trauma. No, on the contrary, she developed this trauma into something more. Suicidal thoughts and actions.

That's one the reasons why she's my favorite. Because, they don't say it out loud , but you can guess, her death was a suicide. I know, she didn't do it by her own, but still she prepared and led to it.

Her writing

A little girl, lost in this world, developed into the greatest hashira,boiling of rage and grief.

I adore character with facade. Honestly. So, from the very start her smile had something off to me. And when I got to the climax of her story, I knew she isn't just favorite kny character, she is my everything. The way how step by by step we get into the world of demons-hatered and self-insecurity.

While with demon-hatered everuthing clear. I want to turn your attention to the main problem of her character. Insecurity.

It's crazy how in her first fight with spider-sister she asserts that her shortness is her advantage, but deep down she always wonders why she is like that, what would happened if she might grow taller. I love the fact that this is her last moments. I mean, there already was noone to help her in this situation, and it could end here but...

Do you even relise that the reason why Shinobu stood up was not her own will, but a belief that Kanae believes in her. It's crazy, that earlier moment

Led to the most beautiful and meaningful come back.

Do we still have time? Can I continue?

Her rage. Yup, it's continuation of her writing.

It 's kinda pisses me off that mostly we completely forget this even exists

Like, there's the second reason why I even started this rant. Do I need to say more? Her anger leeding us to a fight with Douma, where she manages to turn the tables, and victory over Muzan, her helping Tamayo.

I adore the way how author from one trop gets completely different emotions. But we have to get to the last point.

Her smile

I know, it may look strange that I need whole paragraph just to say that I love it, but can you blame me?

JUST LOOK AT HER

Being so cute, loveable and gorgeous need to be a crime. Because, I would be able to kill for her.

And, just thoughts that didn't knew where to put...

1. The fact, that in Kanae's chiring up monologe, Shinobu thinks of Kanao, making her the last person she ever thought of.

2. I don't know from where people gor that Shinobu still hates Tamayo, because it literally was written in manga, that she respects her.

3. Just want you to recall her last words "Burn in Hell" , that personifies her inner world and anger towards Douma

4. Love how Shinobu and Kanao's relationships changes through chapter. Like, in the last moment Kanao shouts "Master!", and at the end she talks of her using "Sister"

5. I can't even go a day without concluding that her fanbase, at least at Tumblr is one the reason why I still see hope and joyment in this world. Want to thank every Shinobu-lover in the internet, you may be a the reason why I still breath.

Demon Slayer Role Swap - Hashiras: Akaza Edition

Plot Points

His backstory in canon is the same as in here, just that it happened in Taisho Period Japan

Instead of Muzan finding him, Kyojuro Rengoku does, having had come due to reports of a demon attack on a local dojo.

( Kyojuro has yet to become a demon by the time. I think you know who actually commited the dojo mass murder)

Akaza, or Hakuji by this time in the story, explains to Kyojuro all that happened

Kyojuro: " While I can understand why you did it, it's still inexcuseable that you took human life so carelessly!"

Also Kyoujuro: " Become a demon slayer and save humans from demons!" as a suggest for reconciling the mass murder thing

Thus Akazas trains, becomes a demon slayer, then becomes the Fist Hashira

Then Rengoku becomes a demon, and later Akaza has to fight him. With literal Yoriichi there and Akaza being Akaza, they are able to defeat Rengoku with no casualities.

Demon!Rengoku: " Hakuji! You are so powerful! Just think of that power as a demon! Become a demon!"

Hashira! Akaza: " No! Why don't you become a demon slayer once more?"

Demon! Rengoku: *confusion*

Genya, Kaigaku, Yorichii, and Michikatsu: *extreme confusion*

Time skip to the Infinity Castle Arc: Akaza faces off against Demon!Gyomei

( He would have helped against Upper Moon 1!Nezuko, but she a woman so...)

Akaza dies in the process, but Gyomei is defeated.

Akaza gets to reunite with Koyuki and Keizo in the afterlife, so happy ending for him. =D

Character Info - Akaza

Age - 18 yrs old at beginning, 22 at the end

Appearance - Short black hair with blue eyes and weird pink eyelashes. He wears the normal demon slayer uniform, although all but the bottom most buttons are unbuttened, along with a pink vest. Strange curved lines come from the the left and right sides of his face, 3 per side.

Weapon - Nichiren brass nuckles; small blades located in the shoes, similar to what Shinobu has in canon

Breathing Style: Fist Breathing

Slayer Mark? - Yes

Species - Human

Additional Information -

Akaza changed his name. Mainly because he's a wanted criminal as Hakuji.

He still has Kyoyuki's hairclip. He usually leaves it at his estate in fear of it being destroyed, but he did have it with him while facing off against Gyomei.

"Fist Breathing" is a fancy term for "being so good at marital arts that you can just beat the demons to death"

Akaza attained his mark in the fight against Demon!Rengoku

Akaza is in a similar situation as Muichiro: "hes' a prodigy and is really good at demon slaying as a result." But except of developing breathing style, he's just strong enough to beat demons to death

Akaza fought Gyomei mostly solo until Yoriichi and Douma showed up.

Unlike in canon, people do remember when he recked the entire dojo, documentation, proof, everything. It's a very popular story.

They Get Jealous

Tanjiro:

Tanjiro?? Getting jealous?? Long story short, never happens.

Only very rarely will you see him kinda staying back, watching you talk to someone else with a bit of a pout. He trusts you not to do anything bad and it's really hard to get him jealous (because let's face it, he's sunshine incarnate), and when he does admit to you that he feels a little insecure compared to someone else, usually he's quick to discard his own feelings (which makes you feel a little guilty sometimes). You make sure to give him plenty of love and attention later.

Nezuko:

Sometimes Nezuko feels a little jealous, seeing you with someone else and having a grand ol' time. Usually it's someone she doesn't know, which feeds into her fears of you finally realizing that you don't have to be dating a demon, that you could do so much better with a human.

She may droop a bit, sulking in the background. She won't approach you until you come back, and then she'll hug you tightly and hide her face in your shirt. She won't say anything, she'll just hug you until you realize that she's feeling insecure. She gets lots of love and headpats to reassure her.

Zenitsu:

Zenitsu will show you when he's feeling jealous. He gets insecure pretty easily when it comes to you meeting someone else, someone he feels is better than him.

If someone else takes your attention for too long, he may pout and hug your arm, asking when you'll be available to hang out later. It doesn't take long for you to realize how he's feeling, and you promise to hang out with him soon.

Inosuke:

Inosuke hates it when someone else takes your attention away for too long.

It doesn't matter who it is, if he wants your attention, he'll be pretty up-front about it. He'll usually demand that you go spar or help him with something, and he'll all but drag you off in a huff. It doesn't take rocket science to realize that he's jealous, but he won't admit it.

Giyuu:

Giyuu may get jealous if he sees you happier with someone else. The self-loathing really hits him and he begins to feel like you would be better suited with that other person because they could make you happier than he ever could.

Usually this manifests as Giyuu becoming more distant. He doesn't want to hurt you, but he does give you more space than usual. He doesn't want to intrude on your relationship with that other person, no matter how much he just wants to go to you and offload his fears.

Kyojuro:

Kyojuro rarely ever gets jealous. He's very confident in your relationship and knows that he doesn't have to worry.

But sometimes, he may be a little jealous of the attention you give his friends and family. Maybe you've been spending a lot more time with his little brother or you've been spending your time with the other pillars. Then he'll go to you, admit that he's been feeling a little jealous, and ask if you can spend time together uninterrupted.

Muichiro:

Muichiro can get a little jealous sometimes, especially when you spend more time with more extroverted people.

He'll see you laughing loudly with someone else and is reminded of how little he himself makes you laugh compared to that, and he'll be a little sulky for a while. Usually he remedies this by training extra hard to blow off some steam before going to you and admitting his feelings.

Shinobu:

Shinobu may get jealous sometimes, but she'll never show it outwardly.

She's used to hiding her anger and frustration behind a smile, so you probably won't see right away if she's feeling jealous. But little things may tip you off -- her smile's a bit more forced than usual, she may speak more harshly, or she may even hold your hand tighter.

Gyomei:

Gyomei never gets jealous.

He'll be a bit uncomfortable with you around people he doesn't know and trust, but that's because of his own trust issues with people (remember, it took a long time for you to gain his total trust). He respects you and won't make a fuss about it. He knows that your relationship is stable enough that simply hanging out with other people isn't going to do anything.

Sanemi:

Sanemi gets jealous sometimes.

Sometimes he'll see you with a really close friend and he'll feel like he's pushing you away because of how great you both are getting along. He'll likely stay away from you for a bit and be a bit snappier than usual until he finally comes around and apologizes, explaining why he was so rude. It's embarrassing for him to admit it, but he likes the hugs you give him afterward.

Akaza:

Akaza does get jealous, but it's unlikely that you'll see it often.

Sometimes he'll see you interacting with other humans and he'll feel jealousy springing up in his body. He hates that you could do so much better than him, and so he'll take his frustrations out on someone or something (though it usually ends up being some unsuspecting slayers). He knows how much you hate it when he comes back with gore on him, so he'll quietly wash it off and go back to you, feeling lighter. If you happen to see him get jealous, he'll deny it at first, but his angry attitude tips you off. He'll calm down if you take him somewhere else to just vent his feelings and for you to remind him that you love him.

Douma:

Douma doesn't get jealous often. If he does get a little pouty around you, usually it's to tease you and whomever you're hanging around (if he doesn't know them that well). You two never really meet outside of the sparing times you visit the compound, but you've made it very clear that you're dedicated to him and only him.

Still, there was one time that he was watching you interact with a younger partner on your way back from a mission, and it made his chest tighten uncomfortably. He began to feel anger rising from seeing your kouhai laughing with you, but luckily you noticed him watching you from in a tree and you realized what was going on. You told your partner that you'd catch up with them later and went to see Douma so that you both could talk it out. (Mostly, you were glad he was feeling more emotions, although you were a little disappointed that it had to be jealousy.)

Kokushibo:

Kokushibo doesn't get jealous of humans often, but when he does, it's usually due to that human being surrounded by those who love them.

For you, it's usually your family. You're all very closely-knit, especially after your aunt became a cultivator. You know your parents and siblings have your back, and it's enough to make your boyfriend a little standoffish and envious.

You always feel bad when you find out, though you don't really know how to respond. He never lets you know what's bothering him, and you just resign yourself to spending more time around him.

Muzan:

Muzan doesn't get jealous easily. I mean, what does he have to be jealous of? He knows you'll be loyal to him, and as a plus, his underlings know not to get close to you. Sometimes he feels a little more possessive over you because he's just having a worse day than usual, and he wants to be alone with you.

Yoriichi:

Yoriichi sometimes feels like you could do with better company than him. He doesn't get angry, he just gets pretty solemn and tries to give you more space. To cheer him up, he just needs some reassurance and attention.

Chp. 8: Introduction of the Hashira

⚠️Please be aware that there are spoilers ahead! ⚠️

Once everything settled, Ubuyashiki turns to the twins once more. His warm smile still on his face.

“Since you two have arrived, I will have you stay in the quarters that the Corps have cared for since your mother was here last. You will stay at my home until the battle ends.” Ubuyashiki says and the twins nod.

They bow to him.

“Thank you for your hospitality.” They say in unison.

Waving his left hand, two female servants are quick to appear from the inside of the house and bow to Ubuyashiki.

“Please, follow us.” They say and begin to walk on to the engawa, guiding the twins to the right of the house. Stepping onto the engawa, the twins follow behind the women, as they were leaving the obvious feel of multiple eyes continued following them until they turned a corner and the feeling disappeared.

After a short time, the servants guided them to a ryokan telling them to remove their shoes at the door and asking if they would like something to eat.

“Tempura should be fine for me.” Aicha tells them as she removes her bag and sits on the cushion in the tatami room.

“Just a big bowl of ramen.” Amara includes to their order and sits across the table from her sister.

The servants nod then bow, closing the door behind them. Once their footsteps were gone, the twins looked around the new area.

“Very nice place. I’m surprised mother hadn’t told us that we would receive our own quarters.” Aicha mentioned and Amara nods in agreement.

“Maybe she wanted us to figure it out on our own? This is our journey we have to embark on.” The older twin comments.

“True.”

There was suddenly knocks coming from the shoji doors behind Aicha. Raising a brow to who that could be, Amara stands to her feet and walks over to the shoji door, slightly opening it to find pink and green hair.

“Eh?” Amara utters then her eyes follow up until she finds the beaming features of a young woman. Her green eyes were literally pulsing with heart eyes and her excitement could be seen from a mile away.

“Hello! I’m Mitsuri Kanroji the Love Hashira! May we come in?” She says excitedly.

Amara’s eyes looked to the left to see the butterfly woman from earlier and a tall man with scars making a ring on his forehead. He was blind Amara noticed, along with his prayer beads clanking on his left hand as he put his hands together.

“Namu-Amidabutsu.” He utters quietly making Amara hum in thought.

“Ummmm, I guess you can come in?” Amara questioned and the pink haired woman squealed in excitement.

Amara allows the shoji door to open up more and all three came into their quarters. Aicha watches in interest as the three people came inside and made themselves comfortable at the chabudai.

Closing the shoji door, Amara walks over to her sister’s side and sits next to her watching the three new guests bow before them.

“Hello, my name is Shinobu Kocho, the Insect Hashira. Pleased to meet you both.” The butterfly woman introduced.

“Gyomei Himejima, the Stone Hashira. Blessings to you and your family.” The large man bowed.

“I am Amara and this is my sister, Aicha.” Amara introduced them and Aicha bowed to them.

“Well, the reason that we are here is that we became fascinated with your presence.” Mitsuri explains and that makes the twins raise an eyebrow.

“Fascinated?” Aicha parrots.

“Yes! I have heard many stories about Ikkoku clan and being in the company of the daughters whose mother almost destroyed Muzan? I just had to meet you both!” Mitsuri rhapsodized.

“We’re not celebrities. We’re just here to help.” Aicha says.

“Oh but you must be! Surely you have been destroying demons since your arrival here!” Mitsuri beams and the twins sigh.

“Actually we have barely interacted with demons on the way here; it would seem since the beginning of our mission, the demons had already been killed by the Corps or there wasn’t any demons at the villages we have passed through.” Amara explained and the Love Hashira hummed in understanding.

“If I may,” Shinobu speaks up as she places her hands neatly on her lap.

“By coming to the Corps, do you think that you will follow in your mother’s footsteps?” She asked and the twins give her a confused look.

“Why would we do that?” Aicha asked.

“We are here for the same reasons I’m sure you all here for as well. We’re not here to collect trophies, celebrity status, or notability. We too have faced the horrors of demons and made a vow that we would make the world demon free. We care not if our lives will be taken, if it will benefit for a better cause.” Amara asserts, Aicha nodding in agreement.

“A suicide mission?” Shinobu questions and the twins give her a hard glare. Mitsuri squeals in surprise.

“Call it what you wish, but we have already made up our minds.” Aicha tells her.

“What of your reasons of being in the Corps? Your position as a Hashira seems to be of high ranking and I assume with that title, you all are on a suicidal path yourselves. Why should our mission be any different from yours?” Aicha asks and the three Hashira are silent.

Amara then sighs and shakes her head, the feeling of a migraine was blooming in the right side of her head.

“I wish not to repeat our reasonings for being here at the Corps, nor is it our business to know what you are here fighting for but, if you do not understand our commitment to the Corps or our clan, then you may leave.” Amara says.

“We didn’t mean to offend!” Mitsuri’s hands raise to show she meant no harm.

“What will you do once the war is over?” Gyomei asks, changing the subject.

The twins thought for a moment and then turn to answer Gyomei.

“Return home, or perhaps leave our village to find another place to live and work.” Aicha says.

“I want to open a blacksmith shop. I’ve always had a knack for making weapons.” Amara tells him.

“And you?” Amara asked the Stone Hashira.

“I…I am not sure what I would want to do after we defeat Muzan.” He said.

“Ohhh, you could run a temple Gyomei!” Mitsuri chimed in and the blind man hummed in thought.

A knock was heard at the door again, and everyone shifted their gaze to the shoji door sliding open to show the servants from earlier knelt by the shoji door.

“Excuse us. We have returned with your meals.” The brown haired woman says bowing.

“Oh, we didn’t mean to interrupt your meal!” Mitsuri said and the twins shook their heads.

“It’s fine. I’m sure if you would like you may stay for a meal as well?” Aicha offered.

“Hopefully with a more pleasant atmosphere than earlier.” Amara’s eyes cut to Shinobu who was smiling with her eyes closed.

Caw! Caw!

A crow flew over the to the door and flapped its wings in alarm.

“The Hashira Meeting is beginning! Please report to the Master’s quarters immediately!” The crow announces and the three Hashira stands to their feet.

“I’m sorry that we have to cut this short but, duty calls!” Mitsuri says excitedly and the twins stand to their feet as well.

“Well, I should say that it was a pleasure to meet you all. Please, if you would like to come by, do not hesitate to.” Aicha says politely.

Mitsuri nods happily and the three Hashira bows to them. The twins return the bow and the Hashira leave out the opened doors, passing the servants who kept their heads bowed and brought over two trays of food.

Sitting back down, the twins thank the two servants and immediately start eating.

The illuminated lanterns in the tatami room were the only light source that was allowed to show the Ubuyashiki family’s faces and the Hashira that sat in front of them.

“As you have reported, the demon’s carnage has increased more than ever.” Ubuyashiki says his smiling face dimming a bit at the news.

“Meaning that the threat to human life is greater than it’s ever been. We must bolster the ranks of the demon slayers. What are your thoughts?” He asks the Hashira.

Sanemi is first to speak, “The incident on Mt. Natagumo made the reports crystal clear. Our caliber of demon slayers have been dropping tremendously. Most of them are rendered useless, I question their trainers, they must be blind.” He guffs.

“You’d think they could at least tell if someone’s competent or not.” Sanemi carrying on.

Uzui Tengen, the bedazzled Sound Hashira smirks and places a hand under his chin in thought.

“That kid from earlier seemed competent to me, that blow he landed on you was quite flamboyant, Shinazugawa. He’s got potential.” Tengen says and Sanemi grits his teeth.

“With the increase in the human population, it becomes harder to control and unify them. The times have changed in this era.” Shinobu chimes in.

“Other than those who had their loved ones brutally massacred, or joined the Corps, or those who have hunted demons for generations, to ask anyone to harness as much or even greater resolve and drive to produce results would be cruel.” Gyomei said.

“Considering that young boy ran into the Twelve Kizuki so soon after joining the Corps. He could have the power to draw them in! We barely get the chance to confront even one of them! It makes me envious!” The fiery red and blonde hair Flame Hashira Rengoku Kyoujurou exclaims.

“Agreed. But the fact that a Lower Five caused such a drastic move, indicates that Muzan is nowhere near Mt. Natagumo. In the case of Asakusa, whenever Muzan wants to hide something, he creates a diversion to throw us off his trail.” Ubuyashiki sighs.

“It’s really quite frustrating. But demons are still devouring humans, gaining strength and surviving. For the sake of those who have died there is one thing for us to do:

I believe that, with who are present today, the Corps’ Hashira and the Ikkoku clan’s members involved, I’ve assembled the finest unit since the first Breathing swordsmen of the feudal era.

Uzui Tengen. Kyoujurou Rengoku. Shinobu Kocho. Mitsuri Kanroji. Muichiro Tokito. Gyomei Himejima. Sanemi Shinazugawa. Obanai Iguro. Giyu Tomioka.

My children, I look forward to your success.”

The meeting was adjourned an hour later and the Hashira leave their master’s residence to return to their respective homes.

He tells his daughters that they were free to leave as well and Ubuyashiki sits quietly in the dark, a smile still graced on his lips.

“Muzan Kibutsuji, I swear I’ll defeat you if it’s the last thing I do. We will bring you down without fail.” He vows quietly.

KNY - My lore (HASHIRA)

It's been a while since i wanted to share somewhere my AU for Demon Slayer.

I actually wanted to write a fanfic and publish it on AO3, I'm still planning to do that, but I don't exactly know when I will be able to do that.

I just love Demon Slayer and i had a lot of fun trying to imagine an alternative group of Hashira.

Before i start to introduce to you my characters I have to give you some explanations:

I find Gyomei Himejima a really hard to write character, so I decided to remove him from my version of the story (I replaced him but we'll get to that later, don't worry)

I kept all of the other Hashiras but I changed the ages of two of them in particular, I wanted Muichiro to be younger so in this AU he's 12 and I aged up Sanemi so he's 22

Some of my non-canon characters exist in the Demon Slayer world, they simply have other roles or they're dead. For example I revived Kanae Kocho, the Flower Hashira who is 22 in my scenario. I did something similar to Sabito and Makomo because they're alive and well; Sabito Ashina (21) is the Ice Hashira and Makomo Urokodaki (19) is the Thunder Hashira (due to the fact that the hand demon sfida she was really fast). The last one is the one who will bring more hate to me, let's just say that I REALLY love Enmu and the idea of him being an Hashira really intrigues me so I decided that in this AU we will have Enmu Tamio (25), the Dream Hashira, I imagined him having rareblood and his ability being some sort of mind control on demons and dream control on humans.

And now are finally at the fun part, my actual OCs, I had a lot of fun imagine new breathing styles and their applications and I came up with some characters. The first one is the replacement for Gyomei: the Stone Hashira Fujiko Mori, who is 25 and is considered the strongest Hashira (just like Gyomei), she isn't blind and she's a good leader who everyone looks up to, she interacts more with the Hashiras than the canon Stone Hashira. The second OC i came up with is the Storm Hashira, Hiromi Kazeshi (19) she is short tempered like Sanemi but despite disliking a lot of other Hashiras she's extremely loyal. My third OC's name is Asuka Rengoku, she's the Light Hashira and she's the twin sister of Kyojuro Rengoku, in KNY twins are never a good thing and this case makes no exception, their relationship is complicated. My last but not least OC (she's actually my favourite): the Shadow Hashira, Ayumi Shinazugawa (20), she has rareblood just like her brother but she has a more peculiar ability: she's able to see glimpses of future in her dreams, so basically a lot of people think that she's insane

Actually more on Kaigaku's subtle religious trauma in your au

His initial appearance shows that he carries prayer beads with him, but he's staunchly not a practicing Bhuddist. Instead, the beads are his "lightning rod" that help ground him when his mind gets away from him, like the cord he wears around his neck that's reminiscent of the noose that was forced around it when he was younger

He was threatened with abandonment if he didn't join the church he was raised in and the monks that raised him (I use that term loosely, they barely even fed him) just gave up on him because he was difficult. His "best friend" had a fucking god complex over him, and it was one of the monks that raised him that beat him so badly that he went fucking deaf before being hanged for murders he didn't commit

(not even commenting on the commentary on the harm that short-term missionaries do when they garner the affection of those they minister to and then just leave to go to the next place, abandoning those they formed connections with. that was so well done!)

Yet he carries the beads and he wears the cord and he repeats the phrase "Namu-Amidabutsu" as his personal mantra?

He's obviously happy with his life and where he is. He's got a loving father, tons of friends, a platonic girlfriend, and he's insanely powerful. Even when retelling the horrific story of his childhood, he laughs at others' reactions to it and he feels weird about how cathartic it was to share it. Yet, in his first scene without Nezuko in it, he bolts awake from a nightmare about his childhood and he can't do anything but clutch onto his throat until Shinobu calms him down. He's fucked up, he's messy, but he's also so very strong. He has to be, he's the Strongest Pillar. I'll note that he doesn't try to hide this reaction from Shinobu, he lets her calm him down and that part is so telling of the type of man he is and the type of friend she is

We didn't get to see his reaction to Kotoha telling him about what Gyomei did to her, nor any commentary on his part about what happened, nor if he even knew Gyomei was trained by Urokodaki all these years. Gyomei didn't seem to know of him (it's probably better this way, but that meant that Gyomei's god complex was redirected to an infant Inosuke) but we know that he hated Kaigaku. If Gyomei had succeeded in becoming the Stone Hashira, would Kaigaku shut down? Hate him? Forgive him? Does Kaigaku even know the part Gyomei played in his trauma?

I'm obsessed with how vague yet so fucking detailed Kaigaku's trauma is. He recognizes the toxic ideology Gyūtaro was spewing immediately and shuts it down, even if what Gyūtaro was saying wasn't necessarily religious in nature. Kaigaku knows that it only takes a single seed to be planted to sow a mountain of toxic rhetoric deep within a person

I'm just rambling at this point, but for a character that gets passed off as the Dumb Jock in both canon and in your AU, he really is so emotionally intelligent. I think next to Obanai, he might be the Hashira who's the most comfortable in their body and lives. Easily my favorite Pillar in this AU

Aaaah!!! Thank you!!! I didn't mean for all of this to really exist in his character, I just took inspiration from my own experiences and elaborated on what canon gave us for his and Gyomei's backstory, but I'm so happy that such a complex character resonated with you so much!
