Jason *dying his hair black*: you know I started dying my hair before Robin.
Dick: yeah why?
Jason: their's like five red heads in Gotham and I knew as a kid for a fact that one was Ivy and one was Riddler. Then I became Robin to find out the other was Batgirl/Barbra and finally Kate Batman's cousin who's now Batwoman-
Dick: Yeah Red Heads in Gotham are either heroes or villains
Jason: -yeah so I didn't want to draw attention to myself.
Dick: ...Jay?
Jason: what?
Dick: I don't think it worked you've been a hero, villain and now anti-hero.
Jason: ...
Dick:
Jason *slams down color brush*: FUCK

"It's powerful, it's visceral, it's dark, it's like a Shakespearean tragedy. There’s no Arya — a character everybody's going to love. They're all flawed. They're all human. They do good things. They do bad things. They're driven by lust for power, jealousy, old wounds — just like human beings. Just like I wrote them."
Seeing people debate which grey characters can still be considered "morally good" and somehow Arya never makes the list, so it's the perfect time to bring back this quote from George which shows exactly how he views her character 🫶🏾

Gale's Revelation (cut scene from Early Access)
source
Gale: (upon propositioning the player and being rejected in favor of another) I.. I see. He's a lucky man. Loyalty is such a... Such a very rare commodity.
Gale: Apologies, I really did think you and I... But no. Perhaps it's for the better. In fact I'll let you be the judge of that. After all, I still have a story to tell.
Gale: It is a story full of answers long overdue. It is the story of a man who fell in love with a goddess.
Player: Very well, I'll play along. Regale me, Gale.
Gale: Thank you.
Gale: Once upon a time, not quite that long ago, there lived a wizard in a tower. The wizard was what one might call a prodigy, who from an only age could not only control the Weave, but compose it, much like a musician or poet. Such was his skill that it earned him the attention of the mother of magic herself. The Lady of Mysteries. Mystra.
Player: What did Mystra's attention feel like?
Gale: Love.
Gale: Perhaps it was not quite love, but, you see, the wizard was but a very young man. It was most certainly love to him. Mystra showed him the secrets beneath the veils. The gossamer veils first, draped across the Weave. The delicate veils next, draped across her body. 'Chosen One' she whispered, as she slipped them off completely.
Player: The veils draped across the Weave?
Gale: Indeed. What most wizards perceive is but the ripple of the Weave's surface. Untold wonders lie beyond. I enjoyed them for a while. As we enjoyed each other.

*In the confessional booth*
John Ward: Bless me Lord, for I have sinned
John Pruitt: What sins have you come to confess, Father?
John Ward: *proceeds to rant for 2 hours of the most traumatic experience a man can go through (which is the entirety of the game events)* So, what is my penance?
John Pruitt: ... Go see a therapist, please

putting my thoughts under the cut in case people dont want to spoil themself on arle voicelines
currently obsessed with the view our current harbingers have of the Tsaritsa. both childe and arlecchino greatly respect her even if arlecchino is dubiously loyal to the Tsaritsa at best. they both talk about her as a figure who is gentle and compassionate, completely at odds with both the organization she allows to commit horrible acts (dottore. its a lot of dottore. he canonically took children from the hoth under the old knave if they were no longer considered "useful" and used as test subjects). shes described as someone with no love left for her people yet the harbingers we've heard talk about her never seem to describe her in such a manner. of course, childe mentions she had to harden herself to complete her goal, but he still notes that shes too gentle. the more we learn about her the more i want to meet her purely because she is contradictions all the way down and its great!!! taking whatever scraps i can get and its perfectly in line with my characterization too so i stay winning

sorry still thinking about it and another thing I love about the core reveal + boat scene is wen ning, in an astonishing act of bravery, standing up to Thee sandu shengshou, someone people notoriously do not fuck with, getting whipped by zidian like it's nothing, dragging jiang cheng within an inch of his life to his face with such unabashed ferocity, all before basically telling him he's a loser and wei wuxian will always be better than him, and then like five minutes later he's sitting there in that damn boat, body absolutely rigid with nerves like m-mister hanguang jun sir please don't tell wei gongzi what happened 🥺 I love him

sometimes when the usual "why doesn't batman kill" debate show up i just sighs and wish everyone could remember we're not in debate class but talking about fictional characters. sometimes. and i know thats a wild concept but sometimes. to have good stories and good characters we need 'illogical' and non 'efficient' things that create good conflicts
