Because it’s not my duty with 15 whole followers to write more🙏🙏 ily all. This is pretty long since I did prompts I found and stuff so :3.. ALSOOALSO, I’m new at writing x reader and the love means sm!!! AGG!!

Who confessed first? what was the confession like?

Spot is an enigma, a man beyond his mortal realm. A man who has the power to travel anywhere he pleases…. But he could never tell you how he feels. He’d feel like, in the event of a heartfelt confession, you’d be terrified and run away. After all, it’s not everyday an inter dimensional being wants you to be theirs.

In the event of a confession, he would expect you to do most of the talking. It’s not something he’s proud of, but his emotions, to him, don’t matter anymore because of what he is. The confession, if he would imagine it, would be something incredibly cheesy but something so.. him. He didn’t have flowers because the kind you liked were out, didn’t have any romantic place to go to because he was afraid of being shunned, and the cupcakes he made burnt :(!

If he could, he’d cry upon a confession on your end.

Who gets sick/injured more often? who is the caretaker?

This goes without saying, but spot is.. not human, or at least he isn’t anymore. He can’t catch a cold, or get sick, it’s beyond him now. So, you would have to undoubtedly be the one he winds up taking care of.

He seems like a worrywart. In the event you are sick, or Ill, or whatever it may be, he’s going to act like you’re dying. He won’t leave your side for one minute, constantly trying to cook for you or *cough* steal *cough* medicine (it’s a little difficult with his holes.. please be patient).

How do they feel about PDA?

Oh my god.. please. He craves it. So much. It’s unhealthy. Even if he isn’t.. the most easy to hold or cuddle, he wants nothing more than to feel your warmpth against him. You’re the last, if not only thing he has to affection.

He can’t kiss you, or really.. do anything.. but he has hands! And a body! So he’d love it if you would spoil him with endearment.

In public, things are slightly different. He hardly goes out unless it’s to continue his ‘life of crime’, but if you were to tag along and show him affection, in public.. he wouldn’t know how to react. Like, you’re proud to be with him??? Him?? HIM??

How do they comfort you/cheer you up?

Oh how he just hates to see his love sad :(. You give him so much love and affection.. the least he could do is return it tenfold when you feel upset.

He’ll hold you, tell you sweet things, try and lull you. Your emotions, to him, are as important as breathing (if he.. even needs to do that).

Maybe will even cook for you! He has a thing for spicy food. Can he like, even eat?

Traits they like in a partner?

He wants someone who is like him in the sence that also feel somewhat outcasted from society. Someone who isn’t conveniently attractive, has features that aren’t considerably desirable. He loves those things. Hooked noses, droopy eyes, eyebags, stretch marks, pimples, he loves it all. He’s not a picky man.

Might perfer chubby partners (would appriciate the comfort of holding them, not to mention he thinks curvy women are attractive.. he’s such a dork).

Spot would like a significant other thats artistic or creative. They might seem more open to his ideas, or at least to him that’s how it would seem. One with a sence of humor aswell.

(Maybe a significant other who can defend him if he’s being attacked for robbing some place)

Traits they don’t like in a partner?

I.. really don’t think there’s much he wouldn’t like in a partner. He likes anyone and everyone as long as they love him and they’re nice to him. That said.. he probably couldn’t stand someone who’s rude, or cocky to an extent. Someone who’s on their phone while he’s trying to talk to them. Someone who actively turns down his love. He’s a very clingy man, he wants the affection and if you can’t give it it’ll upset him.

Do they buy you gifts often? What would they buy you?

He loves to (steal) buy things for his darling. Little trinkets, or other things he thinks they would enjoy based on his knowledge of them. He loves how their face brightens, how he knows he just made their day. He can’t do much for you, but he makes it up with anything he can do. He wants you to feel like a goddess.

I love love love the idea that Arm has been in love with Tankhun for years, but he'd never say it - he'd never want to overstep or make Tankhun uncomfortable and he knows it's not his place. I think maybe also part of him assumes Tankhun knows - but Tankhun does not know

and Arm's been around working for Khun for a very long time and he's just incredibly fond of him and his quirks and is very fiercely protective over him

I think Arm is one of the few people who really sees how smart and observant Tankhun is. Arm is also very observant and I love the idea that they gossip together about everything going on with the family and the bodyguards

and Tankhun develops these feelings for Arm but also he has a very complicated relationship with love and sex and attraction because of the kidnapping and his trauma, so it takes him a while to understand that that's what he's feeling

especially because I think he'd probably spent a long time trying to come to terms with the idea that sex and romantic love just weren't things that were ever going to happen to him. he could never have casual sex, because he couldn't ever be that vulnerable in front of a stranger, but also he doesn't have opportunities to meet people the way other people do.

and so Tankhun desperately craves love and romance and sex and he reads romance novels watches romantic dramas and he yearns for something he doesn't think he'll ever get to have.

and then he realises he's fallen for Arm, who is steady and sensible and gentle but also funny and mischievous and badass, and he just thinks there's no way. Arm's seen Tankhun at his worst; at his most dramatic, at his most out of control, at his most self-destructive; and Tankhun doesn't think anyone who has seen that side of him so intimately could ever love him or want him - not the way he so wants Arm to love and want him.

but he's wrong!

because Arm thinks Tankhun is smart and brave and strong and hilarious and sexy and he loves the way that he is

I think they balance each other out in a lot of ways, but they're also much more similar than people would expect at first glance. they have the same sense of humour and tactical way of thinking and protectiveness over the people they care about.

I just think they adore each other and it's beautiful

some established-relationship headcanons lol -

Tankhun bedazzles Arm a mug with pink rhinestones. Arm treasures it and drinks his coffee out of it every day. none of the other bodyguards would ever dare to comment on it. (this one is from the genius mind of my wifey @aikinn and i'm obsessed with it)

they're literally such menaces they love to gossip and chat shit and giggle and meddle.

Tankhun is a pillow princess, which service top (and occasional vers) Arm thinks is the hottest thing ever. Tankhun likes to boss Arm around in bed and conveniently, Arm really enjoys Tankhun bossing him around.

they keep their relationship secret for a while - except Pol finds out early-on because he walks in on them and is scarred for life

(ALSO I can't talk about armtankhun headcanons without mentioning THE armtankhun fanfic - The Artistic Merits and Goals of Pornography by filigreesails / @thewholedamnboulangerie on ao3, which is just. absolutely perfect and a much better introduction to armtankhun than I could ever hope to give)

A Deeper Look Into Dark Steve🖤🖤

This is my own POV about Dark Steve; I don't see him as a villain. This rant is simply about what I've noticed about him as I've created my AU and I feel inspired to share it.

Throughout my journey of creating various AUs from different fandoms, I've noticed a common pattern from the characters that are commonly classified as antagonists yet tend to have incredibly traumatic backstories.

Like Dark Steve, for example.

In Sabre's video, The Story of Dark Steve, Dark Steve tells us that he's been conflicted with corruption and forced to work for Nightmare Steve as a result. He also tells us that his desires are much different than the desires of Darkness. He's literally telling us that he's persevering to be a good person whilst acquiring good intentions deep in his heart.

How cruel is that? Poor Dark Steve wanted to change for the better and scratch his position with Nightmare Steve aside, but there was just no way he could achieve this on his own. In a sense, he felt powerless.

As well as being an artist and paying close attention to the details of certain designs, I've come to find something that's just really adorable about the design of the Steves, specifically Dark Steve.

From my attention to detail, I've found that all Steves have this little "heart" on their chests. At least, most of them do. Sometimes it's hard to pick out than others. But if you take a closer look at Dark Steve's, his heart is a little bit brighter than most colored Steves. That just provves my point that, even throughout his entire misfortune with Nightmare Steve, he's had a heart and stuck to this completely different side of him that just yearns to be a good person.

HI 🍒 ANON !! it’s nice to meet u!! this is a great question…. i’m gonna b honest though when it comes to music i. kinda live under a rock? 😭 i didn’t even start thinking abt my favorite artists until a couple years ago… so that’s. a thing.

i can never keep track of my favorite songs but i do have a couple artists i love that come to mind!! :33 so!! in no particular order……

1/ yorushika

actually i lied yorushika is in fact my number one always and forever if yorushika has a million fans i’m one of them if yorushika has one fan that’s me if yorushika has no fans that means i am no longer on this earth. yorushika is a jpop/jrock band consisting of n-buna (songwriter/musician) and suis (vocalist) and they mean the whole galaxy to me their lyrics are so insanely good i use them for writing inspo all the time and in general they’re just?? so good??? their songs always feel so bittersweet and nostalgic and the instrumentals are soo incredible…. this is my favorite band of all time they fr changed my life i highly recommend checking out any of their songs/albums bc they have literally never missed. I Fucking Love Yorushika.

my favorite songs of theirs are blooming in that summer / hachigatsu, bou, tsukiakari / replicant !! :3 i have a million other favs but i’ll leave it at that..

2/ the front bottoms

i love these guys so bad i do….. i actually know literally nothing abt the band itself but i adore their songs and just. how scratchy and cool the vocalist’s voice is!! idk i’m not good at explaining it i just love their songs sm!! :’3 they have a very specific vibe to them that i can’t pinpoint but it does make me feel like a rabid dog so there’s that <33 if u have any form of daddy issues i’m sure u’ll love them (they’re also EXTREMELY stsg coded hello…)

3/ mitski

we all saw it coming let’s be real i don’t know a single queer jjk fan who doesn’t love mitski we literally owe her everything? jokes aside it actually took me some time to warm up to her songs, at first i only loved her lyrics but eventually i saw The Light. her songs have this specific melancholic vibe that i’ve never found in anything else and i eat it up every single time ….. i adore her instrumentals and her voice and obv her lyrics !! i resonate a lot with them AND i associate them w lots of jjk characters (especially sugu wbk he’s a mitski girlie).. i just really love her !! she’s Mother always and forever :)

4/ ricky montgomery

RICKYYY MY ANGEL ON THIS EARTH i love him so bad. :( he makes me happy. his songs are so comfy so cozy so lovely i just adore them……. they’re very winter-y but also very summer-y i just love them a lot!! and i think his interactions w the jjk/sk8 fandoms are so funny he’s my emotional support artist i think i would probably kill if he asked me to

5/ beabadobee

what can i even say abt her…. she’s my goddess i think. beabadobee is like mitski in that her songs just have this specific Vibe that nothing else has and it makes me yearn so bad… sooo nostalgic and vibrant i just think she’s so ridiculously good !!! her songs never fail to make me lose it entirely i listen to them often while writing too !!! they’re soooo catchy and wonderful <333

Roche Limit follows a (gay) (trans) guy named Halcyon in what is vaguely-not-vaguely the 1980s. His mental health state is horrible, he's struggling financially, he's recently dropped out of college and broken up with his boyfriend Abby (who by the way is his roommate), he's picking up very unhealthy habits (smoking and drinking. Oops!). The plot sets off when he reunites with his ex boyfriend Gabriel, who tasks him with killing an angel in exchange for ????. For Reasons. So Halcyon runs away to California with Gabriel to do that. Terrible decision. Soooo anyway he spectacularly fails at killing the angel and it possesses him ! His blood is like a pale colour and it glows now. And it's kind of a drug if consumed. Also his blood vessels glow. His eyes glow in the dark too. AND he's in constant pain because of the angel. Literally everyone wants to harm him. And he has to get an exorcism before someone succeeds in doing so. He's literally dissociating throughout the entire novella(?). Fun! The angel is a cutie btw. Literally the only valid character.

The main cast consists of Halcyon, Abby, Gabriel, the angel and two other characters I don't really know anything about (except that one of them is kind of literally Joan of Arc). A thing very much worth mentioning is that I've had Abby and Halcyon for like. Almost three years. But I technically abandoned them over a year ago and I've missed them sm and I'm so so happy to finally be writing in Halcyon's POV again.

Halcyon is my most special horrid pathetic little wet rat of a man. He's really cynical and bitter and angry at the world. He's incredibly self destructive and miserable and full of self loathing. Whenever someone tries to help him he pushes then away and becomes 10 times worse (relatable). He thinks he's SOOO fucked up but he's actually just a little guy. Also he's a punk and an artist. Also also he's half Korean. And he is EVERYTHING to me and I want to put him in my mouth. As you can see I am very normal about him.

Abby is my other pathetic little man. He's really gentle and romantic and soft, but like. He's also kind of manipulative and kind of shitty???? But it's okay because he too is everything to me and I adore him. He's also really self destructive but in different ways. Anyway, he really cares about Halcyon and REALLY tries to help him in every possible way but snaps under the stress that that causes him and ends up hurting Halcyon instead. He's bi and trans and his spirit animal would be a sewer rat wearing a cute little coat. I have like, several other ideas and WIPs in his POV because he fascinates me.

Gabriel is my slutty little bitch !!!!!!!!! I actually don't know much about him *yet* but what I do know is that he never shows any emotion other than Smirking Flirty Asshole and he wears sunglasses and suits even when he Really does not need to. Whore behaviour. He's also like. Really charismatic. And gay. And um . well, attractive. And very protective of the few people he actually cares about. I love him. If I met him irl I'd punch him in the face.

The little angel guy is just. A darling. It's very confused about everything that's happening and knows it's hurting Halcyon and Does Not Want to hurt him. So it tries to comfort him and protect him !!!!!!!! It is everything to me !!!! I say that a lot .

I could talk about these fucked up little guys forever but this post would be longer than War And Peace so we're ending it there <3 thanks for asking, again!!

You take a deep breath and open the web.

“So, what are they saying?” A husky voice comes from behind you.

Silence.

“That bad?” He lifts his head to look at your phone.

“They…” You try to make up a sentence. “They love us!”

“Of course they do, we’re adorable.” Kisses are spread all across your neck and a big smile grows on your face.

Earlier this week Dispatch released pictures from an alleged date between the NCT singer and the actress. Netizens were quick to comment trying to understand if the two were in a relationship. This morning SM Entertainment, home agency for both artists, confirmed the two had gotten close and ultimately engaged in a romantic relationship. You and Jaehyun met at a company event two years ago and since he had been interested in starting his acting career you two talked all night even exchanging phone numbers. In the following weeks you got closer, not only talking about work but also getting to know each other, and eventually love started to blossom.

In the beginning you tried to be as discreet as possible, not even the other NCT members knew. That worked out for the first few months but eventually they all found out promising to keep it a secret as they’re very supportive of the relationship.

As for the company, some people were suspicious but had no proof until Dispatch decided you two would be the new couple revealed in their famous New Year’s tradition. Of course you two were automatically called to discuss the matter and SM decided it would be better to go ahead and confirm the rumours.

Both you and Jaehyun were nervous about the public’s reaction, although he kept saying no matter what the netizens say he will always love you and stay by your side and when you look into his eyes you know that’s true.

And now reading the (mainly) positive comments you two couldn’t be happier.

You then get a call from your manager to attend a meeting and Jaehyun gets the same from his own manager. You too get ready but decide to go separately, still uneasy about the relationship being public now.

“Y/N, Jaehyun, please sit.”

You two sit down looking around the room and feeling nervous about what’s going to be discussed.

“We have been tracking the online reaction to the news of your relationship and you have most people on your side!”

You and Jaehyun exchange looks adorned with shy smiles.

“And reading some of them closely, a lot of people are eager to see you together on screen.”

You two widen your eyes not expecting that opinion.

“Jaehyun, as you know we are preparing your solo debut and you will shoot the music video soon.”

He hesitantly nods not really understanding what that has to do with the current situation.

“Y/N, we know you have been focusing on voice acting but how would you feel about staring in Jaehyun’s music video?”

You almost choke at the unexpected offer.

They give you two sometime to talk about it and ultimately you decide to accept the offer as it will be just a few scenes.

On the day of the shooting your knees are shaking as you enter the set. Jaehyun was already working and you are left in awe at how good he looks performing the choreography as water drips down on him making the thin clothes he’s wearing stick to his incredible body… You shake the vision off your head and walk to hair and make up.

You gasp as they show you the outfit you’ll be wearing for the scene. It’s a form fitting dress and considering the guidelines they provided you suddenly feel shy that you’ll be so close to Jaehyun dressed like that.

You walk out of the dressing room and notice your boyfriend checking some footage with the music video director. You notice he already changed clothes ready to shoot the next scene. Once he notices you his jaw drops. He excuses himself from the director and walks towards you.

“Y/N… You look incredible…” He takes your hand spinning you around to get a good look at all of you.

“Jaehyun, stop.” You murmur already feeling your cheeks burning up.

“Ok, let’s start!” The director announces and everybody goes to their place.

The scenes consist in you two dancing in the club in the middle of the crowd, then the rest of the people will disappear and you’ll dance your way towards each other but once you’re close you’ll runaway from the dance floor and Jaehyun will chase you into the hall, holding you as he sings into your ear.

Everything was going great until you’re pressed against the fake set wall, his body way to close to yours, his hand griping tightly on your waist and his hot breath against your ear as he whispered his seductive lyrics. You feel shy again remembering everybody around watching you two.

“Cut! Let’s do it again from the top!” The director shouts and then turns to you. “Y/N, you are a bit tense, could you make it more relaxed and natural please?”

You gulp and nod at the instructions. As you and Jaehyun walk back to the initial spot, he comes close and whispers in your ear.

“Why are you so shy baby? It’s not like I’ve never pressed you against a wall before.”

You widen your eyes and lightly hit his arm.

“Jaehyun, don’t say those things here.” You murmur looking around to see if anyone might have heard him.

“Ok, I’ll stop… For now. Later tonight, when I press you against your apartment’s wall, I want the whole building to know my name.”

He winks with a grin as you are left all hot and bothered anticipating what’ll happen later. How the hell are you supposed to nail this scene now?

i was asked to make some fic recs of stuff i’ve been reading since tros dropped but since tumblr has a glitch where i can’t add a “read more” cut in asks, i decided to make it a separate post because i have a LOT. all of them are rated E except for like, three lmao and they’re mostly modern au ones with some fix-its thrown in. i’ll put two of my favorites outside of a cut and the rest after it.

(won’t you let me) walk you home from school by somethingdifferent modern au. ongoing. ben and rey are co-workers at a private school. rey as a elementary school art teacher is SO CUTE. her and ben have a slow burn enemies to lovers situation going on and god, what can i say about this fic. one of THE BEST reylo fics i’ve ever read. incredibly in character. you know those fics that are so enthralling that they draw you in and you realize like 3 hours later that you’ve read the whole thing? this fic is one of those stories. it reels you in. and REY. i hate fics that are like, “she’s so plain and mousy and ordinary and lanky” like, NO. i love that this author characterizes her as the vibrant, sweet, radiant person she is. and ben’s deadpan humor in this is amazing. he’s got it so bad for rey but he’s such a self-sabotaging goof. just, god. i can’t stress enough how amazing of a fic this is. a must read. and if you love what we do in the shadows, read somethingdifferent’s cracky wwdits x reylo crossover oneshot - it’s hilarious

a place to go by delia-pavorum (literaryminded) modern au. bit of a slow burn. ben and rey are strangers and accidentally both end up at luke’s cabin during xmas vacation because luke, a fellow teacher at rey’s school lends it to her for the holiday and a certain grumpy tol nephew of his happens to drop by thinking it’s vacant. they get snowed in. [in bill hader’s stefan voice] this fic has everything: bed sharing, an enemies-to lovers dynamic, slow dancing to frank sinatra, snark, british!rey and ben finding her accent adorable, ben reading jane austen to a sick rey, smut, and fluff. another one of the best reylo fics i’ve ever read in the past 5 years i’ve been a shipper. it’s so well written and it made me cry with how moved i was by it. i stayed up all night reading all 8 chapters it was that good.

the man, the stallion, and the wind by voicedimplosives modern au. i love this fic so, so, so much. rey picks up a hitchhiking ben and they have to hang out in her trailer while the winter storm calms down. so fluffy and smutty i love it so much. their characterizations are perfect. definitely a fic that i’m gonna come back to read over and over again.

between two lives by neonheartbeat modern au. rey’s a model and her car breaks down in the middle of nowhere and she stays with mechanic ben solo while her car gets worked on. SUCH a good fic. the build up to their relationship is *chefs kiss* and the smuttttt. amazing. and i was not prepared for all the feels.

carve your name upon my heart by TourmalineGreen modern au and 3 chapters. one of the most unique fics i’ve ever read. it actually got me really emotional and i like, hardly ever cry reading fics. rey’s an artist that creates a sculpture (ben) that comes to life. such a beautiful fic, i absolutely adore it.

big dick problems by TourmalineGreen modern au. rey and ben are co-workers at a book store and ben being a kind of aloof person, rey thinks he hates her (she’s wrong ofc asdklfjsd). anyway one day at work she sees that he was browsing the r/bigdickproblems subreddit on his phone aaaand i won’t say more. seriously, go read this. it’s SUCH a good fic, ben & rey are so in character and it’s a good plot.. it’s one of those fics that i’m definitely gonna come back to re-read a bunch of times.

rebel side of heaven by jeeno2 modern au. ben and rey are friends, but i guess they’re more so acquaintances in the same friend group. ben’s a virgin and rey offers to teach him about sex but unbeknownst to her, ben’s got a massive crush on her 😏

tattooed heart by KyloTrashForever modern au. one of the best modern au fics i’ve ever read. i stayed up all night reading it, it was soooo good. just. the smut, the fluff. i can’t recommend it enough. the description: “ Rey Johnson has found herself down on her luck lately. first off jinki! i didn't really start paying attention to him until recently but he's very good looking.. 😳 strong arms i find it very cool he just does wood work thats a real cool hand craft. we love a multi talented man. love his smile too, the eye smile!!!! and he has a very comforting presence to me, i do love his lame jokes as well 🥺🥺 he takes great care of shinee and everyone around him! you can really see it in how people interact with him 🥺

minho... he is full of love. i want to tell him that he is loved. the way you cannot help but smile when you see him and love him. there is just something about him i CANNOT describe, i have no words for it. he is also so beautiful!!! his smile makes me feel warm inside. he keeps posting on instagram at 5.25 TELL ME THAT ISN'T THE MOST ADORABLE THING YOU'VE EVER HEARD!!! all these small things 🥺 getting gifts for his members, coming straight from being discharged to taemins back room at a music show!! just to name a few recent things... also how he is with children ❣️ it's so adorable its so cute and the kids also LOVE him like you can really tell a lot from a person from that. if he ever has children he will make a great dad and i'll support him 100%. i also have to say that he's so underappreciated as a singer just listen to i'm home. there's so much affection i have for this man.

oh taemin oh my god i miss him so bad. obviously we have many years of age difference but it has felt like i've grown up with him. the beauty he puts into everything he does is so incredible!!! it's so beautiful how he inspires people too like which idol isn't inspired by him? he's so hard working i can't believe it. i don't think he's that popular and loved for nothing. he's come so far from not even having his voice recorded on replay to having one of the most successful and long solo careers (obviously while being incredibly popular in shinee too). even how in the recent years he's started writing his own lyrics which just makes me so proud. something else that just fjdudolsheheh makes me feel feelings is how he always keeps his art very genderless and wants to break the gender roles and expectations. he's truly been, might i say, paving the way, for (especially sm emts) solo artists and especially idols focused in dancing... i am so incredibly proud of him and i admire him and his hard work and love for what he does. i miss him already and i hope that he's doing well and having fun. i do also worry for him a little, he works so much and now he went straight from promotions to the army like pls take a holiday 😖 he's worked so hard, non stop, since he was a child and come so far, he really deserves to take a moment to rest. i miss this silly little man i miss his lives i miss seeing him say weird things i miss seeing him performing and i'm so thankful that he shares his art with us. he deserves every bit of his success and achievements and above all, happiness.

There is a person out there who would love Lee Eun Sang’s Lemonade, and I really hope they find it. If you like stuff like Dancing on Butterfly Wings by ATEEZ, I bet this would be a hit for you. I really like the pre-chorus even if the rest I could take or leave.

The energy that AOMG as a whole is putting out into the world these last few months is so fucking tasty. Jay Park has spent years building a reputation as a rapper and an executive at a label, and now the newest strategy seems to be picking off idol cast offs. And by idol cast offs, I mean what the big three leave behind when scandal, or maybe just contracts are up. He picked up Yugyeom and JB (that’s some energy right there, taking a JYP group leader), and now Lee Hi is thoroughly out of the YG dungeon. Now he just needs the last jewel in his crown: an SM child.

Anyways, Lee Hi has had a comeback with some powerful energy. Only came out last week, and has LEE JEHOON and WON JIN?!?! Like that’s some star power. And then this week, she has a collab with BI, and he is in the video? She is really out here feeding us with star power. I’ve never been a huge Lee Hi fan, and these two tracks don’t really change that, but you have to respect her game.

Speaking of powerful collabs, this week saw Key and Taeyeon together in I Hate that . . . It took the chorus to really get me to buy in, but I’m all in now. I love how Key’s voice is utilized here, and especially how well the duet portions with Taeyeon go. The vibe is slow and chill, like a lot of Key’s solo work, but still has enough drive to keep me interested. And I was worried Taeyeon would be a little to clean and pretty for this, but her voice fits the vibe really well. It gets the first win.

So, there are serious winners for this week, but also one very very very very important less serious winner. In that this song is maybe the most fun I’ve had today, but it is definitely a guilty pleasure sort of fun. Please go watch Park Hyunho’s Money Money Money, because I need other people to see what the average between idol culture and trot culture is. The guy is styled like an idol, with the dances, sets, and frankly MV budget of an idol singer, but he is singing some sort of trot/pop fusion, that, while incredibly repetitive, is also so damn addictive. So it is the fun winner of the week. Also, side note: Park Hyunho smiles like a creep, or a person who never learned to smile, for many shots in the video, which just sort of brought the whole thing to a new level. And thus, the second win.

My posts the last couple days probably show what the last winner is, because A.C.E really continues to feed us, huh? Changer straddles the line of fanservice track and new ideas, with a sound that they haven’t necessarily done before, but that A.C.E unsurprisingly kills. The chorus is addicting, the whole thing is fun and happy. It is a great way to send two members to their military services. Of the groups currently going through service, I have the most hope in A.C.E surviving it, because they’ve had members out of the group for months at a time before. This break will be longer, but they left us with a banger before their enlistment, so I don’t have a whole lot to complain about. Also, they really fed Wow stans for the first time in a while, which I adore Beat for.

okay so i’m pretty quiet around ppl especially ppl i don’t know/feel very comfortable around. i’m actually pretty socially awkward. if i do know and feel comfortable around you then i’ll occasionally go on tangents of things i really like/am interested in at the moment or tell stories and stuff. i’m a pretty good listener and love to help people with their problems. i have a hard time talking about my feelings with other people though. i also have a huge fear of confrontation and commitment. i will usually go along with whatever stuff my friends want to do whether that be going out and doing stuff or staying in and relaxing. i like having fun and experiencing stuff but only with the right people. i absolutely hate conflict among those close to me and will try to avoid it at all costs. i also weirdly enough have not really a superiority complex but kind of? like i feel like i have to constantly be the best but only at things i care about, and especially when someone close to me succeeds me in doing so, i get mad at myself (if that even makes sense). if you try to talk to me and i don’t really know/feel comfortable around you, i will try to keep convos short. for some reason that comes of as sort of “cool” to some people when in reality i’m just horrified of talking to people whom i don’t know how to communicate with. if you couldn’t already tell i do have some social anxiety ^_^. i tend to be pretty disorganized and messy bc i feel more at home that way, unless it’s something i care deeply about or someone else could judge me on it. i do also care a lot about grades and being in honors classes and stuff like that. also although i do think i am “book smart” i have little common sense. :^)

Hiiii! Yes you may, I ship you with...kuroo!!!

I was actually having trouble with matching you because I kept switching between different types of people, but kuroo was always kind of in my mind so I finally chose him. Kuroo is basically on the middle of the extroverted and introverted spectrum, he’s just kinda chill most of the time and can do both. I think that someone like you, who’s more quiet and not very socially in tune, works well with someone like him. Mostly because it probably wouldn’t work out for you to have someone who’s incredibly energetic 24/7 or someone who can’t ever talk to people, you just need someone who’s able to understand and respect your reserved nature while still pushing you a tiny bit out of your comfort zone. Obviously he’s friends with Kenma, so he knows what to do and what not to do in order to help you grow in that aspect. That being said hes also observant and recognizes your social anxiety and knows what to do. He used to even be very shy himself, so it’s not like he’s clueless in that area. He also loves when you come out of your shell and ramble on and on about something your passionate about, because he knows it doesn’t happen very often. He just finds it adorable how your eyes shine so brightly and he can see a new side of you for a while.

He loves that you care for your loved ones and try to help them with they’re problems, it just makes him see you as even more of a sweetheart. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t notice your troubles with expressing your own feelings. He’s dealt with emotional struggles before so he knows how difficult it is to come out of your comfort zone with that stuff. He’s been able to overcome that struggle overtime, though, so he’ll just go through the same steps he took with you, and hopefully that will make it much easier for you to let your emotions out and talk about them. Kuroo knows you usually go along with what everyone else wants to do and hes completely fine with that. He used to be very shy when he was younger so he used to do the same thing. However, (only if you want to work on it you don’t need to change😌) he might try and boost your independence as long as you’re comfortable with it.

Conflict is never going to be a problem for you two. Kuroo, like I said before, is a very chill person and doesn’t ever fight unless it’s necessary, and even so he never actually thinks fighting is necessary in most situations. He would rather just calmly talk it out and work through it instead of just jumping to conclusions. That also means that he’s pretty good at confrontation, which is something you fear. He understands you hate it so he tries to make it as unnecessary as possible, but he’s going to try and warm you up to the idea. He wants you to be able to get over your fear of confrontation in a more slow and patient way, though, it won’t be forceful or anything like that. The point being kuroo isn’t one for arguing with you in any way so that’s not something you have to worry about.

Scenarios with the two of you:

•you guys just skateboarding on your neighborhood streets at sunset and you both have one Bluetooth earbud in and your just jammin out to teenagers-mcr and hayloft-mother mother while the sky turns a pretty purple

•you guys figuring out you both like a bunch of the same things so you kinda just geek out about Harry Potter, fnaf, Star Wars, and a bunch of anime’s together and you guys always talks to each other about them (immaculate taste by the way😌🤚)

Calling All K-Pop Survival Show Trash (I-Land Edition)

What’s good everyone

In the past I have talked about my interest in kpop survival shows and my preferred lineups for shows like Produce 101 X and Youth with You. These such posts got some attention and made me befriend some cool mutuals so I thought why not do more for any other shows I come across so I can also discuss with people and fangirl with them? Though I myself continue to like these shows despite evil editing and clear favoritism from producers/global fans, I still wish to share with you some hardworking trainees that I think you guys would be interested in, especially if ya’ll kpop survival show tl’s are dry and looking to fill the void with something different. Well, I-Land happens to be that different show. Now I know not everyone is a big fan of BigHit or even Mnet for that matter, I do encourage this show because it is a lot different from the format of the Produce series, or any past kpop survival show for that matter. The standard for ranking trainees is not entirely up to global votes and the producers in the show give their valuable take. Not only that but their living conditions, music choices, and selected trainees are very distinct and refreshing in my opinion. Not only that but you have big names like Rain, Zico, Bang PD, IU, and much more contributing to the show to create the best global kpop group.

Now when posting this I realized I should have done this earlier because the show is already on its second part hehe. I-Land is split up into two parts so I’m just gonna give a brief rundown. The first part of I-Land involves these 23 trainees that all arrive individually or within groups to do this isolated and intricate building in the woods. These trainees then go through a series of performances to see who is the most competent member in entering I-Land, this really swanky and high-tech living space fit with training areas, a kitchen filled with a bunch of food, very pristine and spacious dorm rooms, etc. The catch is that only 12 members are only able to be apart of that paradise and will be determined by voting amongst themselves (already pretty political off the bat lol). Those who are unable to attend the I-Land are sent to The Ground, basically a way more downgraded version of I-Land with much fewer resources. This first part basically has these two groups pitted against each other and shifted between the I-Land and The Ground based on this trainee voting system and the producer voting system after completing various tests/competitions. The only time where the global voting system mattered was towards the end of Part 1 in which the global votes determined the 6 trainees eligible from The Ground to be with the other 6 I-Landers (which have been selected to stay by the Producers). These 12 trainees then dive into Part 2 of I-Land which is really the start of the actual competition to make it to the official 7-member debut line. The 12 to 7 members are shaved down again based on a series of tests that will showcase their individual and teamwork skills. This time the voting is completely based on an alternating system of producers and global fans deciding the ranking, the lowest such member being eliminated every other week.

So like I said I should have started this sooner since this show premiered back in June, but because a lot of people are just starting to know about the show because BTS and now Seventeen (Performance Unit) guested or are about to guest on the show (this includes possibly TXT and Gfriend given they are also tied to BigHit), might as well update ya’ll now on why you shouldn’t just be watching just because your ults are there for barely an entire episode. Though I admit that there are shady moments and complaints I have with the show, there is no denying that these trainees that are picked are all really good in their respective areas and are incredibly dead set on becoming idols. Now you may have heard people saying that this show is a “flop” based on Korean ratings. Given I don’t know how tv ratings work in South Korea and know that this show is steered more towards global fans, a number of people I have talked to already about this show just watch on different video sharing websites or apps the next day so subtitles appear or they watch during the scheduled time of the live broadcasting on YouTube which I have to say is SOOOO pleasing for us international folks. Ratings and famous artists contributing to the show aside, I once again stress that you guys should give the show a try just for the sake of getting to know these kids because I feel like with time and practice, even if they don’t make the final lineup, they will achieve their dreams eventually.

Now as much as I want to talk about the entirety of the show, I will once again post my top 7 members down below in the (Keep Reading) section. If ya’ll don’t want spoilers and wish to look up the show first then by all means go ahead! NOW WITHOUT FURTHER ADO THESE ARE MY TOP 7 I-LAND TRAINEES (SPOILERS POTENTIALLY INCLUDED):

1) Lee Heeseung

No question about it Heeseung is one of my biases on this show and for a good reason. This boy, a former BigHit trainee, is considered the ace of the show, an all-rounder who so far has shown stability in both dance and vocals (have yet to see rap being portrayed a lot in this show, but the producers, specifically Bang and Pdogg have said he really excels in rap and it was strange to them because he entered the show to focus more on vocals lol). Not only that but he is selfless, a trainee that has been putting a lot of his fellow members first and sacrificing his own time to help them or steer them in the right direction. Bro is also dorky and a total crackhead behind the scenes of I-Land lol. As of part 2 I believe he is the trainee with the most seniority, as in years of training. Despite showing his playful side here and there, he seems to be the most well-spoken and mature of the trainees, putting him as a major candidate to become a leader. It is just a bonus that he looks this good too! At this point in the show, it would be insane for anybody to not include Heeseung in their final debut lineup predictions. Plus this is legit Bang PD’s favorite son ya’ll already know.

2) Park Sunghoon

Ah the little ice prince! Another former BigHit trainee (and my second bias lol), Sunghoon is incredibly charismatic and knows how to show the right facial expressions on stage. I honestly kind of see him as a dark horse in the show. His vocals are pretty decent and he can really keep up in dancing. Overall just so hardworking, and it definitely shows because he really has been consistent through the show! It’s pretty known he is a major visual in the show but a lot of people also like him for his clean-cut and simple personality. He is also very observant of the other members and can be just as doting and selfless as Heeseung. What irks me is that the producers and even some viewers complain that his personality “overlaps” with other members, which is honestly an odd reason to have when considering the debut lineup. He seems quiet at first but the kid can be so hyperactive, funny, and radiates crackhead energy as time goes by in the show, giving us more of his personality to work with. What is more fascinating is that he used to figure-skate for 10+ years and decided to choose this path as an idol after seeing BTS. He is also determined to show his parents that they shouldn’t have doubted him and that he took the right path and I just love that. Please look out for him because with his popularity and competence, I am sure he will make it to the lineup!

3) Yang Jungwon

Pack it up ya’ll we found our little maknae of the group who is a cutie and an all-rounder! He is also a dark horse to me, but then again a lot of people consider him to be a “hidden ace” in the show. Jungwon may be one of the youngest members in I-Land but amongst the other younger trainees, but he stands out as the most skilled by a landslide. He excels at singing and is very stable. In fact I think he is one of the few trainees that has a really good singing voice next to Heeseung. He is also really good at dancing as well as free-styling. I think he is also a former BigHit trainee (I... yes I know a lot of my picks just happen to be BigHit trainees but trust me I’m not just being biased lol). I think Jungwon is someone who, though he excels himself, really appreciates his hyungs who he respects and wishes to learn from. Coincidentally, his role model is Jungkook haha. His ability to adjust to concepts, even the most mature ones, is also very astonishing. Hoping that global fans not only see him as a cute kid but as a talented, caring, and hardworking soul. Baby did not quit taekwondo to follow his dreams as an idol too!

4) Jay Park

Ya’ll you see this kid? He is a fighter. A competitor who brings the heat. And behold he is also formerly from BigHit lol, but also SM entertainment! Jay is incredibly skilled at dancing and is very charismatic on stage. I think he is one of the few people who showcased rap pretty decently, but again this show barely showed the rap skills of any of these trainees to really conclude that. The kid has been through a lot of humiliating moments in the show, even coming up with the iconic and meme-worthy line to accept such moments: resentment, anger, humiliation. He has been placed in compromising situations, but he owns up the the situation and accepts responsibilities that no one would. He is not as intimidating as he may want to look as he also very caring and helpful (plus his fear of ghosts is adorable). Even other trainees approach him to teach them choreography or get advice. Also the way he was able to lead the Grounders in the Fire performance made me appreciate him even more since then. I feel like he has the potential to be a great leader for the group as well. He is also honest in what he feels and has no problem stating that to the viewers, but is never someone who whines about not getting his way. His stubbornness will take him all the way to the debut line in my opinion haha. Go hard my sweet potato boy!

5) Jake Shim

Our Aussie boy and the icon of improvement in the show! He happens to be one of the trainees with the shortest training time. Despite this, he has had potential since his entrance test with Crown. Jake has had some rough criticism that lead him to work very hard. In fact he always feared that he may get behind others or not keep up. I think out of all the members--and that is saying a lot because they all really do try their best--he is the one who is the most hard-working and constantly practicing the choreography, even when others are asleep. I also think he has a pretty good vocal range, and it definitely improved since Flicker recently. The fact that he came all the way here to South Korea by himself to achieve his dream of being an idol after witnessing BTS is so brave. I really respect him and his friendship with a lot of the members in I-Land, especially with Sunghoon! I think he will only continue to rise up and gain more traction from the global audience.

6) Kim Sunoo

Sunshine boy coming through! Sunoo came along with Jake and performed Crown together and since then I always thought he had some real talent. This thought was only proven later on, but really set it for me his Save Me performance. Listen his vocals are so promising despite also having a short training period. I honestly think it would rival Heeseung’s vocals. I do think he has room to improve in dance, but he really works for it. He is always so positive and nice to others. He is very modest and eager to learn and I love how he is basically this aegyo king who never cringes at the slightest when he acts like himself. As someone who wishes to be on tv, I hope he gets there. I feel like a lot of people have slept on him because he was mostly known as that one cute kid with adequate skills, but they are far more better than a lot of the trainees since the beginning of the show. His popularity already puts him really up there so I can only hope he just continues to prove himself to the producers because they have already complimented him on his more masculine and skilled side in Fake Love. Fighting my son!

7) K

Our last member is K! Now I have had my eye on K because his visuals really stand out for me, like something out of a comic or drama. Handsomeness aside, K hails from Japan and is the oldest member on the entire show. He is very experienced in choreographing and is undoubtedly one of the best dancers on the show, which was definitely established in the dance unit competition. His vocals are also pretty underrated. I think he that knows how to grab attention and make us wanting more. Now as much as I adore his skills and ability to lead other members in the choreo, I have noticed that he is the type to be very straightforward, and it may come off as intimidating to other members. I am not sure if this is just South Korean etiquette of respecting elders and just trying really hard not to upset them, but the way that members have had their fair share of discussing issues with how K just turns icy whenever he doesn’t see things his way or makes a mistake leading them to be frightened to the point of not being able to chime in with their thoughts is very alarming. I get that no one wants to step on his toes further, but I hope this attitude and relationship doesn’t persist. I like K and I can see that he dotes on other members and helps them out as much as he can, but sometimes his hypocritical and isolated attitude gets the better of him. Now granted this may be a result of MNET’s evil editing, but seeing all these trainees share their uneasy thoughts regarding him makes me feel another way. Even when these issues happen, it ends up with him having to talk it out with his members and reflect, which is highly appreciated. Even the producers feel like K is important and is promising in his ad-libs and skill set. May he recover from all these issues and keep himself together!

HONORABLE MENTION:

★ Hanbin

I thought I would add an additional member that I have been on the fence about if one of these other potential trainees do not make it, especially considering I am a bit scared of K’s placement due to global fans being easily persuaded by how MNET edits their shit. I actually have never laid eyes on Hanbin since the entire first half of the show because he was always in The Ground. After seeing him lose confidence their I was scared if he would ever recover. Luckily, he opened up this time around! Not only do I see him acting more like this sweet older brother towards the other trainees, especially in times of conflict like with K and Niki, but he has really been standing out with his dance and vocal skills. I already know he used to be part of a Vietnamese cover dance group, but I never knew how stable and clear his vocals were. Though I don’t think he is as stand out as other members in these skills, he definitely showed more of his confidence and improvement since Part 1. I was honestly wondering why so many people have been hyping him and I guess I was the one wrongfully sleeping on him and his hidden talents heh. I also hope he is getting more recognition now and it would be nice to see another member who is outside of South Korea appear in the group, especially since Bang PD is going for a global group. Call me a Hannie now lol.

ALRIGHT end of this thread. Again feel free to talk to me about the show or finally start watching the show. Even though I did not list your favorite, understand this is my personal debut lineup. This in no way means I am hating on any of the other members. I think they all have what it takes if they were all able to get casted onto this show, and I hope they eventually will. Given that I was looking for much more trainees that caught my eye, have had experience, a good personality, a natural and improved skill set, and just an overall good connection with them, these were the trainees I was most enticed by. Album of the Week #4

Bambi

(2021)

Overall Rating: 10/10

TL;DR: An album with a voice and guitar so smooth it cured my concussion.

So I know that I chose last week's album as my concussion album, but this is the one that really got me through the last few weeks. Every day I have to lay down in the nurse's office during what would be my band period to get rid of the headache from my bonked head. Every day when I am laying in that dark room I put in headphones and listen to just this album. I recovered from this concussion quicker than most do so I'm pretty sure that Byun Baekhyun's voice has actual medicinal properties.

I usually don't listen to any solo music from any kpop artist, but since EXO is one of my favorite groups of all time Baekhyun was a good first try. I won't give away too much right now but believe me when I say this is one of my favorite albums I've heard in the past year.

General Thoughts

Going into this album I did not expect it to sound like this. I've heard the solo stuff from other EXO members and members of SM groups and it all just sounds like pop that blends in. There is nothing in it that makes it unique and it doesn't feel like there is much of a connection between the artist and what they are singing (unless they wrote the song like Jonghyun, he is a beautiful exception). Baekhyun doesn't fit into this generic pop category, instead going a more R&B route which I absolutely adore.

This album is so relaxed, each track having either a piano or guitar part that makes me glad that I enjoy music. Do you ever hear an album and are glad that you have made the choices in life to get to this point? Because that's where I'm at right now. I don't know who the electric guitar player in “Bambi” and "Love Scene” is, but they deserve a raise. I know that Baekhyun isn't the one that wrote these songs, but they fit his voice perfectly. I don't think anyone will ever be able to sing these songs and come close to sounding as amazing as him.

I'm going to group “Bambi” and “Love Scene” together in this review because to me they have roughly the same energy: Smooth and cathartic. Bambi is the perfect title track, showing off his voice but not making it the biggest focus, and making it clear what the tone for the rest of the album is. The music video is absolutely flawless and just nice to look at. I honestly couldn't say how many times I've watched it. "Love Scene” isn't as well known but it should be. It's definitely my favorite on the album and really allowed me to enter another world when I was stuck in that nurse's office.

“Amusement Park” is the B-side for this album and I was obsessed with it for a solid week. I'm talking four times minimum I would play this song, trying to commit every part of it to memory. The piano at the beginning allows the song to be calm yet still have life, and you can almost hear the smile in his voice as he sings.

Which takes me to his voice. Holy crap. Holy crap. It's not that he can just sing high, he does everything so smoothly I never once thought he was towards the top of his range. He slips into falsetto notes so easily it seems totally effortless, as effortless as when he sings lower songs. I think the best showcase of his voice and his amazing ability to do runs is in “All I Got”, which is probably one of the greatest vocal performances I have ever heard. It belongs in the hall of fame alongside Onew's 40 second note and Mariah Carey. This song is more a test of how amazing his singing ability is than a song and I'm okay with that.

Final Verdict

Do you like kpop? Do you like any R&B/alternative? Do you like hearing a voice so good you question if that person even exists? Do you love hearing electric guitar with all those nice pedals that just makes you sigh in comfort? Then this album is for you. Seriously, go listen to it right now. I wouldn't blame you if you don't buy it since it's just a mini album, but at least give it a listen. It is incredible. That being said I am 100% taking the L and paying $25 for 6 songs. Honestly? I would love to have a poster and sticker so I think it's totally worth it.
