How to Have an Effective Hiatus
Hey everyone, I am going on a hiatus once this is posted. Lately, I have been super stressed out and jobless for the past two years. I'm hoping that being away from social media, specifically Tumblr and Facebook, will calm me down a bit.
Stay hydrated. Staying hydrated is very important. Drink at least eight cups of water every day.
Do your homework. If you were assigned summer homework, do it in small chunks so that you're not overwhelmed. If your only "homework" is studying languages on Duolingo, do them. Write down whatever they're having you do to remember parts of speech, colors, sentences with pronouns etc.
Sleep. Another important part of hiatuses and social detoxes, is sleep. If you don't sleep, then you'll be cranky and unresponsive to do any work.
Eat healthy and get some exercise. Eating healthy is another important component of being on hiatus. I'm trying to eat healthy and getting exercise as much as I can.
Clean your room. I always say that a messy room equals a messy life. It's true. I get yelled at because my room is a mess and I also have to do almost all the chores which is no fun at all.
Catch up on your reading as well as t.v. shows and movies. Being in different realities, even for a little bit, can relax you and put you in a peaceful state of mind.
Thank you for reading and I hope this helps you have an effective hiatus and social media cleanse/detox.

💐look after urself: get good sleep, do ur best to eat something! a small healthy snack here and there is better than nothing, and try to keep active! yoga, walking, swimming! if it’s too much for you to go outside, just walk around ur house or room !!
🌷look after ur hygiene: it’s easy for hygiene to not feel like a priority, but small things like taking a shower and even getting fully dressed can make a difference on how u feel !
🌹work out what makes u happy: try to make a list of people, places, or activities that make you feel good and happy
🌺treat urself: try to do something positive for urself every day! like a long bath, spending time with ur pet, or even reading ur fav book!
🌸keep active!: join a group! this could be anything like a community project or a sports team, to a hobby group, or something you’ve always wanted to try!; try new things, try volunteering, and make sure to set realistic goals for urself !!
🌼to help a low mood: keep a mood diary! a mood diary can help u keep track of changes in ur mood that you notice! it could also help u notice if anything new, like activities or places or even people are making you feel better or worse !
