Was forced to watch a truly incredible (derogatory) thing recently.

A young person on twitter, adamant that transandrophobia doesn't exist on the grounds that 'no one is killing/raping/assaulting trans men'.

Several people responded, including some linking articles about murders and assaults on trans men and a couple op-ed style pieces of trans men talking about their own experiences.

Said young person responded with "I'm not reading those its triggering and I'm a minor"

So let me see if I've got this correct, you are knowingly refuse to acknowledge reality because it's upsetting to you and then you're going to turn around and deny that very reality because you refuse to acknowledge it because it's upsetting?

it's so fucking frustrating how people who hate homeless people and want them gone are vehemently against any type of help for homeless people.

Like, if you hate people who are homeless and don't want to have to deal with homeless people, you know the solution to that would be to give them homes so they're not fucking homeless, right?!

Homeless people are in public being a "nuisance" to you because they have nowhere else to fucking go, give them a place of their own and they'll spend a lot of their time there! And when they're in public they'll be by and large regular fucking people because they have access to a shower and washing machine and don't have to carry their entire life with them.

"oh but they don't deserve it because they refuse to get sober!" get sober for what? people with addictions often have lives that are unbearable sober, so of fucking course homeless people are reluctant to get sober they're in one of the worst situations a person could ever be in.

"but they refuse to work!" that's absolute horseshit. I had a coworker who became homeless and subsequently couldn't hold his job. people need housing first and foremost, worrying about employment should come after.

"but they'll just do drugs at home!" good. better than if they do them in public.

"but i work so hard and i think they need to earn it!" why are you bitching about the unfairness of helping poor people in a world where Elon Musk exists?

You hate these people so much and you don't want to have to deal with them in you daily life but at the same time you think they're "unworthy" of help so what the fuck do want do be done here? Just fucking kill them all for your convenience?

i know ppl avoid it bc of how quickly it can just become stereotypes against black and homeless people, but i enjoy thinking about hobie’s bad habits or things that many people would consider gross that he developed as a result of homelessness, loneliness (by which i mean my headcanon of his early childhood), & the way his world works in general. Bad dental hygiene because he’s so stressed about other things he has to deal with + he wants to keep saving whatever toothpaste he has. Not bathing for weeks on end despite all the moving around and fighting he’s doing because he wants to save soap and clean water + it’s hard to let his guard down for an extended period of time when he’s so used to not having anyone to watch out for him. Not having the healthiest hair or any actual routine anymore because of too much stress and too little time to focus on it + not having people around that would stress the importance of it as he grew older. Forcing himself to eat food he hates and will make him sick because he doesn’t want to waste the food (if nobody else will eat it) + sometimes getting extremely angry at people taking the smallest bits of food even as a joke if he wasn’t going to share it. Having a bad attitude towards people who don’t deserve it can easily be seen as the “black man angry beast grrr” racial stereotype, but i’m talking about how the mental and physical strain that Hobie’s going through in daily life + being Spider-Man means he’s just gonna be an ass sometimes. He hasn’t eaten in 40-something hours and doesn’t know where he’s gonna sleep tonight and if his other friends are safe on the streets, he’s not exactly gonna be a happy guy in that moment
