synopsis: how it's like to cuddle with the Liyue gals

word count: 2,152

a/n: i spent an all nighter to write this because i won't be able to for a while...yeah. enjoy this early Valentine's Day gift!

Beidou -

Beidou is the headstrong type of person to tease everyone on the boat. But with someone she's actually comfortable with, who she feels a bit mushy about, she'd be much more open to cuddling. Especially after an adventure where she gets a little beat down, she would appreciate a good cuddle from someone she trusts, it being one of the few moments she shows her more vulnerable side to you

She's a very physical person and likes hugs and other sorts of contact: holding hands, being close, etc. She'll even be so bold as to grab your chin and look you in the eyes. She also believes that touch is a good way to get to know someone. So whenever she gets close to you, you can be certain that she likes you. She's quite the believer that a hug can fix just about anything, so she's sure to give you your affection whenever it's needed.

The Crux captain may also have a slightly rough touch with her skin being rather calloused. If she's more reserved towards physical contact, her hugs would be more gentle and warm but when she's more used to your relationship, she'll be right up on your waist before you can even say hi to her.

In a gentle but firm voice she says:

"Everyone has a warm, soft spot on the inside, and if that spot is exposed, a warm hug on its own can fix just about anything. So, my dear, may I hug you? I know you don't need to be fixed or anything like that, but I just want to give you one, so you know that I always have your back."

Hu Tao -

At first, Hu Tao's love language is usually a simple hug, head pat, or even a snuggle. Despite her job and her usual "playful/prankster" personality, she's really just a big love bug underneath her shell. Even though she won't openly say it, she appreciates those little moments of intimacy, and is really comforted by it.

For the longest time, Hu Tao was alone in both friendship and love. The entire concept of a relationship being quite the hard thing to swallow for her, so at first she would be more laid back with her affection.

Once she's fully comfortable around you, expect her to be clinged onto you 24/7. Hu Tao would be a really touchy person with no particular preference, as long as she got to hug you, it was game.

Hu Tao's eyes slowly opened. She had fallen asleep during the night, and now dawn was coming. She slowly reached around and began to move her hand around, until it touched a soft, warm body, and she couldn't help but smile. At this time of morning, she usually got cold, even with her thick bed sheets. But now... now she was nice and warm. She turned towards the body she had just touched and smiled at it, before wrapping her arms around it and nuzzling herself closer towards it. "Work can wait today"

Keqing-

Keqing is likely to be super proactive about her affections, so she's often the one being snuggled with more than the one doing the snuggling. she's quite gentle with physical contact, so if you started cuddling with her, playing with her hair or holding her hand, she would most likely go along with it and be rather passive. So in a lot of ways she is the perfect cuddle partner, but she rarely initiates it, usually being too embarrassed to ask for it.

When Keqing is stressed, she likes being curled up in the arms of your loving embrace. It's the one thing that can calm her down. She feels safe, comforted, and at peace. She finds the sensation so pleasant, it makes her want to drift off into a calm, gentle sleep…

She's a very affectionate person - she loves to cuddle with you at the end of the day. If especially needy,, she'll even wrap herself around you in a tight embrace and purr softly in your ear. Whenever she's tired, she'll curl up on your lap and take a nap. She's so cute that it's almost too much to bear.

Your eyes grow heavy as you drift off to sleep, resting your head on Keqing’s lap.

“Hmm? Are you asleep already? …How adorable. Sleep well, Y/n, I’ll be right here by your side when you wake up~”

Ningguang -

Ningguang is the kind of girl who likes to be cuddled from behind, wrapped like a blanket in a cozy fashion. She doesn't think too much of physical touch in that sense but if she's stressed on a day, she likes to use it as a coping mechanism. She doesn't always get the chance to be held, so when she does, she's extremely warm, soft, and content.

On certain nights, she enjoys being the "big spoon". Ningguang is a possessive sort of partner, always trying to make clear to you that you were her's and only her's, so her best way of proving it to you was in those small actions.

For both your well-being and her reputation, your relationship had to be kept a secret, so your cuddling session and general affection was very rare, even if it pained Ningguang for it to be way. For all the public and Ningguang's enemies knew, you were only of many workers on the Jade chamber

"Cuddling? With you? Why, of course. Being that close to someone else is very rare for me to be so... intimate. But with you... it's like having a warm fuzzy blanket."

"It feels... Good. But, not in that way, more so... It's like we can be each other's comfort when we need it the most."

Shenhe -

Although Shenhe usually refrains from showing emotion because of the way she was raised, if she gets close enough to you in that she feels comfortable showing her softer side to you, she can be unexpectedly romantic. She would never admit it though... it'd be too embarrassing.

She can be very attentive with it, if she notices or feels that you are in any way, sad or unwell, she'll spend her entire day trying to comfort you, that includes cuddles. She'll gladly be the big spoon if it meant seeing you better.

Shenhe is a very sensitive person. When touched or held, her heart beats faster and she can feel herself getting flushed in an instant. As her senses are stimulated by the warm touch, she loses herself in the present moment. The world shrinks in size and grows darker as only you are visible to her, being the only thing that mattered. In this moment, she is just a vulnerable girl with no powers being let at your mercy..and to her surprise.. you don't do any harm to her, you only show her your love.

Her whole body quivered ever so slightly at your touch. She was overwhelmed by a multitude of emotions, a mixture of embarrassment and shyness. She was afraid that at any moment, her heart would explode, and she would not be able to hide the fact that she was nervous. She didn't want to be shy, yet when she tried to be more confident, she only felt her cheeks grow a redder color

"...Can you keep doing this?"

Xinyan -

Xinyan's a cool and confident woman and doesn't have much trouble with public affection but gets really embarrassed if you cuddle her and her friends catch on. She's always been pretty bad at keeping her face from turning bright red at such an action. She's the type to snuggle with you, yet secretly be extremely embarrassed about it.

She enjoys being the big spoon, she'd lie down with you curled into her arm or resting your head on her chest - this is also her favorite position, since she can feel your heartbeat as she strokes your hair and hums you her favorite tunes.

After a long day performing for fans, Xinyan's favorite thing to do to rest up is cuddle up with you and enjoy the rest of her evening together with you. When you're stressed or upset, she’s more than happy to listen to you talk and offer words of encouragement. Even when she’s tired, she’ll always make sure to comfort and support you, as she knows how important it is to feel loved and cared for.

Xinyan wraps Y/n onto her arms, holding them in a comforting manner.

"You don't have to worry about anything, I'll make sure everything is okay."

Her voice is quiet, soothing. They close their eyes, falling asleep with a peaceful smile on their face.

"Shhhh... shhhh..."

Yanfei -

When Yanfei cuddles with you, she likes to make sure she's close to you. She makes the absolute most of it by clinging onto your body and holding you tight... In her arms, she can feel your heartbeat, listen to your breathing, and feeling its warmth. There is nothing more comforting than that after a long day of work... When she is embraced this way, there is nothing that can separate her from you.

She gets very cuddly with you and tends to be playful when she's trying to make you laugh. She usually initiates hugs by wrapping her arms around your neck or shoulder and pulling you close to her, and she usually likes being the little spoon at night. She'll probably tease you a bit when you're just having a casual conversation in-between cuddles, but when it comes to sleeping, she is very serious about physical closeness.

She'd be really playful about it, especially if she's with you, just saying sweet things and maybe teasingly flirting, but she'd never be really forward about it. The most she'd do is suggestively raise an eyebrow and give a little smirk, she would usually get pretty embarrassed if you flirted back at her. Yanfei would be totally caught-off-guard, causing her to stutter a lot, maybe even turn bright red depending on how much you teased her

Yelan -

First of all, she's really good at making you feel safe. You can wrap your arms around her and rest your head on her, and all your problems just seem to disappear...

As for the cuddles themselves... She likes being in front. She can wrap her arms around your back and stroke your hair, and pull you closer until you're touching her. And that... is where you both will stay like that for quite a while.

She's not big on physical contact, but if she sees you're having a hard time, she'll wrap her arms around you .When she does, she won't say anything, but she's very good with her hands. She'll stroke and soothe wherever you're sore, easing your mind and body. She doesn't need to say anything... she just lets her touch do the talking. If you can, try to look into her eyes. You may get a sense that it's a side of her she only reveals to you.

As you lie there with your head on her shoulder, her hands stroke down your back, feeling your warmth.A long moment passes, but then she turns her head slightly, to give you a sweet and gentle smile. "..." She doesn't say anything, but that says it all. You have someone by your side now, watching over you... nothing to worry about.

Yun Jin -

Yun Jin is very professional at all times, but as you lay next to her, you can sense an air of gentleness around her. She has a calm, mature demeanor that makes you feel so calm and relaxed. She is warm to the touch and she seems to have a comforting aura that envelopes you completely.

Despite how serious she was at all the times, when you two were alone, free of the prying eyes of her fellow peers at the Opera Troupe, she would always be the little spoon, feeling loved and safe in your arms, something which she rarely felt.

To return from a long day in the Opera house to your loving arms was a feeling better than Celestia itself. Yun Jin would always have her worries and frustrations fade away by one simple hug from you.

Yun Jin strokes your cheek with her finger, a gentle, yet warm touch. Her eyes are closed, her mind a blank slate, and she rests her cheek against yours. You are both quiet, and only the rhythm of your breaths is audible. You look up at her beautiful tranquil eyes, their softness only adding to the overall serenity of the situation. She then leans in and says, "I am here."

albedo - ♡ • he draws you! he isn't experienced in gift giving or dates so he just goes with something he's familiar with • Klee stops by to give you two a drawing of all three of you holding hands and he hangs it up by his workplace smiling like the proud brother he is

alhaitham - ♡ • he gets you books he likes and commented on himself (DORK! NERD! LOSER! affectionate) every other page is a little note from him consisting of the meaning of this is actually... to this idiot reminds me of Kaveh, don't you agree? •he also takes you to a nice restaurant in sumeru and pays • like halfway through the date he forgot flowers and called up kaveh to buy them! he does not! and alhaitham makes him pay!

amber - ♡ • she got you your very own plushie! it matches with baron bunny and doesn't explode! • she takes you on a nice picnic where you two match outfits and feed eachother cake • she immediately gets home and writes to collei about everything while kicking her feet and twirling her hair

arataki Itto - ♡ • oh my god he gets you the largest bouquet of flowers ever like four members of the Arataki gang have to hold then Shinobu is deadpanning in the corner • with granny onis advice he also takes you on a picnic! unlike Amber's peaceful one yours is not! he makes the Arataki gang play instruments while Shinobu is dressed in a suit and is severing you two food

barbara - ♡ • she gets you two matching outfits! hers is baby blue and yours is light orange so it compliments eachother • she definitely sings you a love song behind the cathedral and you two giggle and dance and hold hands man I love barbara

beidou - ♡ • she gets you.... drunk! yep she's hosting a valentine's day party on the crux with plenty of drinks • after the wild party when you two are stumbling back to her room theyres some nice flowers laid out on the bed • she tries to woo you but passes out on you... I mean she tried!

bennett - ♡ • he got you some flowers but they withered away then he made you some sweets and accidentally mixed the salt and sugar! • he's very bummed for how everything turned out, he wanted this day too be accident free! • it's ok to make up for it you two walk around the town holding hands while you pray that the boxes that some people are carrying aren't gonna crush you and Bennett

candace - ♡ • she gets you a nice jeweled necklace! she carefully puts it on you and kisses your cheek • since the desert isn't the ideal place she keeps you inside we're you too spend quality time together • right before you go to bed she kisses you all over telling you how much she loves you

chongyun - ♡ • writing for characters I dont really know anything about is stressful sweats profusely • he probably gets you the standard flowers however for the date he takes you ghost hunting • by the end of day he's disappointed that he can't find any ghosts so you say that maybe they didn't want to ruin your date and now he's planning to go ghost hunting on a different day what have you done!

collei - ♡ • she gets you one of those valentine's cards you'd get for every kid in your elementary school class • it took her like 20 tries to perfect the card and when she did she threw it at you and ran • when she came home cyno and tighnari were sitting at a table with all the failed attempts of cards on said table. scariest thing collei has ever experienced

cyno - ♡ • he gets you a joke book to use on him. yes he fully expects you to pull out the book and start saying jokes like he does • he does get you flowers and brings you to a nice restaurant using his mass amounts of maha-mora (winks I'm so funny right winks again plz) • he told so many jokes that night you're just about done with his dorky mouth

Hu Tao

While, at this point, most people would think that Hu Tao had no idea how to read a room, the funeral director was confident in saying that their theory couldn’t be more false, as she simply chose to ignore it whenever she could. So when you started acting increasingly shy and nervous around her, she was quick to pick up on your behavior. And once she noticed how you were acting, her discovering why was already on the horizon.

Of course Hu Tao used this gained knowledge to sort things out for the two of you. Or at least she will… eventually. After she got her fun first.

The longer you stared at the lines of the poem Hu Tao had handed you, the more of a weird feeling you got in your stomach. It was unusual enough for her to write anything that wasn’t at least 50% meant as a joke, so when you saw that it was about love you wished for nothing more than to either sink into the ground or wake up from this awkward scenario.

What didn’t help was the fact that she continued to stare at you with a grin the whole time, not seeming to blink once whenever you stole a quick glance towards her.

“Uhm”, you tried to find the right words to start, only for Hu Tao to cut you off.

“Is there a problem?”, she asked, almost sounding genuine, if it weren’t for her grin growing bigger.

“Don’t take this the wrong way, but why didn’t you choose anyone else to proofread this?”, you nervously asked, seeing her playfully tilt her head from the corner of your eye.

“Who else should I hand it to? Xingqiu? Nothing against him, but he really isn’t made for criticizing romantic poetry”, she was quick to respond, letting out a small yawn as the first sunrails made their way towards you, causing you to realize how long it was since she had dragged you out here.

“And I am better at talking about these kinds of texts for what reason?”, you asked with all the sarcasm you could muster, both of you knowing damn well how bad you were with any material about romance.

“Your reactions are funny”, she stated almost matter of factly while raising her pointer finger and pointing at a specific verse in the poem, looking at you expectedly. “Reread this once more and tell me if there’s something to change”, she demanded, causing your eyes to scan those words once again, only for the realization that the person described shared a lot of features with you… Almost too many for this whole thing to be a coincidence.

Before you had a chance to say anything however, Hu Tao snatched the paper out of your hands, giving you a smile before playfully patting your shoulder.

“Oh no, it seems like a new morning has dawned, which means that a new day of work lies ahead of us, so sorry that I have to cut this short all of a sudden”, she feigned sadness, only to give you one of her usual mischievous smiles. “But hey, if you need to tell me anything, you know where to find me.”

Ganyu

When you first began acting awkwardly around Ganyu, going so far as to avoid looking her in the eyes, the more anxious side of her began worrying she may have unintentionally done something that caused your behavior, only for you to blush whenever she mentioned it before trying to assure her that everything was fine.

It was only after one specific, purple haired coworker of hers started to notice the way you two acted around each other and decided that enough was enough, that Ganyu was confronted with the possibility of you having caught feelings. And while the intention of revealing your somewhat obvious crush was to make the half Adeptus stop worrying too much, it turned out to have the exact opposite effect as Ganyu also began to turn into a nervous wreck whenever she was around you.

Taking the initiative in situations like these never was something Ganyu was all too fond of, her own anxiety not exactly helping in making things easier. Nevertheless here she was, waiting for you to meet her as she requested, doubts about this whole thing quickly starting to invade her mind, only for her to try and shake them off once she saw your form in the distance.

“Good morning Ganyu!”, you greeted her, a smile on your face as you made your way over to her, completely oblivious to how much of an anxious wreck she was at the moment.

Or at least you were until she presented you with a rose, barely managing to look you in the eyes as the color of her face started to turn into the same shade of red as the flower.

“I-I’ve heard of a nearly opened shop that sells beautiful flowers, so I wanted to… buy you one”, she mumbled just loud enough for you to hear, the sudden change in atmosphere causing you to start blushing as well, slowly taking the rose out of her hand, making sure not to sting yourself on any of its thorns.

“T-Thanks, I would have brought something with me too if I knew you bought me something. Please excuse me for a minute, I’ll get you something”, you offered, trying your best to get out before your nervousness took over completely, only to stop when you heard Ganyu speak up again.

“Wait!”, she almost yelled, immediately stopping herself once she realized how loud she was, lowering her voice drastically.

“There’s something I wanted to tell you.”

Keqing

No matter what way she looked at it, Keqing couldn’t help but feel slightly infuriated. You were her secretary, the first one to hold out for such a long time at that, so why were you spending less and less time around her, preferring to pretend to be busy running errands around the office?

This wasn’t jealousy that was speaking of course, it wasn’t like she started to enjoy having you around her at work so much that she couldn’t help but feel lonely whenever you weren’t, but if you had a problem with her, you should simply tell her that face to face instead of trying to run away.

And so, the Yuheng decided to ambush you somewhere private, fully intending to resolve whatever issues you had in a direct way.

“O-oh Keqing. Is there something you need?”, you asked, nearly jumping as Keqing appeared from behind the corner, cutting off your way suddenly enough that you nearly ran into her..

“Yes. I need you”, she stated, her tone sounding slightly frustrated, only for her eyes to slightly widen once she realized that her words could be taken another way, quickly adding a few more. “-to do your job as my secretary.”

While Keqing may have been full of resolve when she set out to confront you, the longer she had to wait for you, the more she began to actually fear what could happen. What if you really had a problem with her? Would you resign? Did you not enjoy working together as much as she did? At this point it was fair to say that she was feeling somewhat nervous, increasingly hoping that this all turned out to be some kind of misunderstanding.

“I can’t help but feel like you're avoiding me. Even now I had to basically ambush you to get you to even speak to me”, she explained while crossing her arms, checking your face for any reactions before taking a deep breath and continuing, “If you have a problem with me, just say it”, Keqing tried her best to continue her confident facade, only for it to slowly giving way with each and every word, her nervousness making its way onto her face.

“I don’t have a problem with you”, you quickly blurted out, only to almost instantly be cut off by the Yuheng.

“Then what is it?”

Her question almost instantly managed to shut you up, causing you to look around nervously as you tried your best to find the right words to continue with. Eventually letting out a long sigh as you closed your eyes in defeat.

“Could we go somewhere more private? I… have some things I need you to know.”

Genshin Girls When They’re On Their Period

Characters: Ganyu, Ayaka, Yae Miko, Hu Tao, Beidou, Shenhe, Eula, Ningguang, Keqing and Sara.

Warnings: Mentions of periods, and NSFW warning for Miko and Beidou’s. Nothing descriptive.

Notes: Not requested, just a thing I wanted to write for the sake of it :) We never talk about all the different symptoms of periods, and I thought it would be fun exploring that with the Genshin girls. If you happen to be on your period now, I hope it’s painless and that you find comfort with this post 💕

Ganyu gets super sleepy when she’s on her period. Given how she’s always working and you can often find her staying overnight at the Yuhei Pavilion, her sleep schedule isn’t the best it could be. But when she’s on her period, Ganyu might as well fall asleep everywhere. You’re having breakfast early in the morning? She’s dozing off. Working on some reports? Her eyes are closing. She’s on the couch talking to you about her day? She drifts off mid sentence. But it’s okay, you’re always around to hold her in your arms and tuck her in bed, and Ganyu will love you forever if you stay and cuddle with her as she falls asleep <3

Ayaka grows extremely emotional when she’s on her period, enough to drive her to tears by every minor thing that happens. You were taking a stroll around Inazuma and found a baby fox, and Ayaka started crying because Look at it, it’s so small! You forgot to buy dangos on your way home and tears rolled down her cheeks because I really wanted some dangos today. You brushed the hair out of her face and kissed her temple tenderly and Ayaka bursted into tears because You are so sweet and I love you so much! Please clean her tears and reassure her that yes, you do love her very much. Though if Ayaka were to hear those words from you, she would most likely tear up again.

Yae Miko turns very horny when she’s on her period. She’s usually a very touchy and affectionate person, but when she’s on her period she’s especially touchy all the time. She needs her hands on you at all times, and would really appreciate it if you had your hands on her at all times, too. Holding your waist, nuzzling your neck, straddling your thighs, you name it. And Miko bites. Your earlobe and your collarbone are her favorite spots to bite. She absolutely adores your flushed expression, and she’ll do anything to see it again.

Hu Tao has a very troublesome period. She usually gets very bad cramps that leave her lying in bed for the first two or three days of her period. She loses a lot of blood, too, which you instantly notice because her usual cheerful expression turns gloomier and her skin grows noticeably pale. She can also get nauseous, but not much beyond that. The benefit is that Hu Tao gets her period once every two months, so it’s not a monthly problem. Even so, you’re always there by her side. Spooning her when the cramps get worse, playing with her hair as she rests on your lap when she’s tired, and rubbing her tummy softly to ease the pain. Hu Tao is very grateful to have you!

Beidou is another one who grows fairly horny when she’s on her period. She’s constantly touching you, her arms around your waist, her fingers in your hair, her hands tilting your chin to meet her gaze as she grabs your thigh and smiles at your reactions. But most of all, Beidou just gets very cuddly. Being the big spoon is her favorite thing in the world to do when she’s on her period. Let her hold you and play with her fingers while she drifts off to sleep, and she might as well love you forever.

Shenhe has a completely flawless period experience. It comes every month like a clock, she’s never late, and it lasts three days, tops. Also, cramps? Never heard of them. Shenhe’s period is painless and quick. How does she do that? She doesn’t experience mood swings, and you’d have no way of knowing she’s on her period unless she explicitly told you. Still, when you know she’s on her period, you make sure to be extra loving around her, just because <3

Eula grows uncharacteristically soft when she’s on her period. She’s usually reserved and never says what’s really in her mind, twisting her words with extravagant noble parafernalia, but she seems to drop the facade during these days. Only around you, of course. Eula comes home after a long day and hugs you from behind, her strong arms carefully securing your waist, and she hides her face in your hair. She doesn’t voice it, but you know that’s how she acts when she wants to cuddle with you, so you guide her to your bed and let her be the small spoon for tonight. She loves drifting off listening to the sound of your heartbeat.

Ningguang has mostly painless, regular periods, but she gets a whole lot of cravings. And you, of course, will do your best to provide everything that she mentions she wants. Ningguang says she wants to try Mondstadt cuisine? You’re already looking for the best chef in Mondstadt and shipping them here. She mentions she misses the fried fish she used to make when she was little? You take a day off to go to her village and catch the fishes yourself, bringing them back to the Jade Chamber and instructing the chefs on how to cook them. Ningguang takes notice of all that you do for her, and she pays you back tenfold <3

Keqing has a regular period that doesn’t trouble her much, but her body gets very sensitive while her period lasts. Her breasts are the worst, they hurt to the touch, and she also gets sensitive in other parts of her body. Her thighs, her limbs, and her head hurts at times, too. She doesn’t like being touched much while she’s on her period, and you respect that. You give her space while you show her your love and support in other ways, like cooking meals for her so she stays healthy and hydrated <3

Sara gets very moody when she’s on her period. She’s usually a very straightforward person, always speaking frankly, but she seems to grow less balanced during her period, and she’s quick to snap at any minor thing. Sara doesn’t yell, but she loses her temper and lashes out fairly easily. She’s quick to recover her senses and apologize for her words. It’s better to stay on her good side during these days, she always has her bow and arrows at hand!
