Ok but how cathartic would it have been if instead of Jaune being the famous Rusted Knight all along, V9 was written so that Ruby fell into the Ever After and became this aged warrior in a tattered cape called the Hooded Huntress or whatever, spending the last few decades stewing over her friends' death and her perceived uselessness, pushing herself to protect the Ever After as its sole guardian all this time.
Her teammates try to find and console her, but reuniting with them after so long just brings back all the bitter memories and she does everything she can to avoid them, even Yang. Inwardly Ruby is torn because the chance of meeting her team again was why she's even alive and fighting after all these years, but now... she can't even bear to face them.
Slowly but surely her team reaches through to her. And then it all slowly clicks: Ruby and her friends figure out she's the Hooded Huntress. She's the hero in the books Ruby always looked up to. She's the fairy tale ideal Blake wished the world could be. She's the hero Weiss would think about to push herself through her training. She's the hero Yang would read to her about during bedtime. Her tale may have even been old enough to inspire Maria and Qrow to become Hunters. Summer herself.
All of this hits Ruby like a truck, knowing that she was always meant to be a hero and has still done so much good, more than she'll ever know. And Ruby learns to accept her mantle once again and returns to Remnant wiser and better than ever. She may not have been enough to save the kingdom of Atlas or Penny, but she poured her everything into the Ever After to make up for it and in doing so, became the hero the world would soon need; that it always had.
Fuck your ascension and fuck your suicide tea; Ruby chose to keep going for one more day instead of giving up, if only for the sake of others, but found not only the light at the end of the tunnel; she was the light guiding others through it, even when she was too caught up in the darkness around her to see it herself.
But I guess we needed Jaune to be the big hero again. He's canonically now a bigger and more influential hero than Ruby, Summer or almost any other Hunter in existence can hope to be - immortalised forever as an enduring tale thousands of children and aspiring Hunters would emulate, even after Team RWBY themselves are gone.
Like. Let Ruby have fucking something. Is she still the protagonist or is she fucking not.
EDIT: Also this would have been our one chance to get scruffy long-haired Ruby. Let that sit with you abit.

The Interview
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to Lisa Lavender Live. As always, I am your host, Lisa Lavender, and tonight we interview a man who was responsible for saving all of Remnant from the Grimm more than twelve years ago. Please, join me as we welcome a hero of great renown, Jaune Arc!"
The crowd roared as they stood and applauded the well-shaven gentleman seated across from Lisa Lavender. His stomach felt like there were rocks tumbling around inside, but that couldn't be the case because he threw up in the dressing room already. He was on camera in front of millions of people across Remnant, all of whom lauded him as a hero, which was part of the reason why he was so hesitant to do any interviews since what became known as "The Fall of Grimm". He'd seen many interviews of celebrities fumbling and it coming back to haunt them years later. Here's hoping this wouldn't be one of them.
"Jaune, how are you feeling?"
"I threw up." The audience laughed. At least they loved it. "In the dressing room. Sorry, I'm not used to being on camera."
"If I recall, you were responsible for delivering Ruby Rose's message to the world, weren't you?"
"I was, but, uh..." Jaune scratched his head. "To be honest, I never was good with technology."
"Is that why you use a sword and shield?"
"It's part of it." Jaune replied. "To be honest, this old thing was just a heavy heirloom sitting on my family's wall until I left for Beacon."
"Beacon Academy, correct? That's where you had your schooling?"
"Well, it's where I first started until the Fall of Beacon, and then I walked all the way to Atlas."
"You walked from Beacon to Atlas?"
"Well, I rode a train from Haven to Argus. Not really a fan of flying."
"What happened the last time you flew?"
"I threw up." The audience laughed again. Two for two, and he was winning each round. So far so good. "Yeah, I don't know what it is, but I was just really bad with flying. I still am, too."
"Are you sure it isn't just nerves?"
"After all the bullheads I've been on, Miss Lavender, yes, I'm sure." Third time and everyone chuckled.
"Well, I'm sure you know that I didn't just bring you on stage to just talk about your airsickness." The hostess smiled. "After all, you were the commander of the Five Kingdom Army."
"I feel sick just thinking about it." Fewer chuckles this time. Okay, the joke was dead. Moving on. "But yeah, it was last minute decision to be honest. As soon as I showed up, everyone started rushing me into these briefings and plannings and I had to be the one to look over the positioning of all five kingdoms. I mean, it would be like someone grabbing you on your first day at Beacon and throwing you off a cliff to see how you landed." He chuckled. "Which, yes, I can compare to." The audience laughed.
"So what was going through your mind when you were planning?"
At this, Jaune was quiet. He leaned back and closed his eyes, remembering what Ozpin and Oscar were telling him about their plan to use Ruby as their trump card. He instantly rebuked the idea. With a nod, he answered the question.
"I was thinking about the best way to get to Salem."
"And putting the Huntress Hero, Ruby Rose, on the frontlines. Was that your plan?"
"When I first showed up, I was being told that all of the kingdoms agreed to pull her back to a safehouse until a final push. I told them that their plan was just asking for trouble and said to put her up front."
"Didn't that seem like a big risk, Jaune?"
"Yeah, but here's the thing. Nobody knows Ruby, or her team, RWBY, better than I do."
"Wait, do you know Ruby or RWBY better?"
"Yes." The audience laughed loudly. "But if you're looking for a more serious answer, I would say I know Ruby Rose better than I know her team. In fact, I know three things that her team forgets sometimes."
"Oh? Would you mind sharing these juicy secrets?"
"I would be more than happy to."
--------------------------------------------------
Ruby Rose watched the screen, barely blinking her eyes at the interview playing in front of her. Her best... Former best friend cracked jokes and talked about his arguments with Ozpin and everyone else in the war room like it wasn't a three hour screamfest about how Ruby shouldn't be treated like figurehead. Now he was about to spill secrets about her?
The last conversation they had was more than ten years ago, and just like in the war room, it was just as loud and aggressive, though she was the more vocal of the two. He wanted to settle down and she wanted to be free, using her childhood home as a base. Jaune wanted to keep in touch, but she'd slammed the door in his face and never looked back.
And now he was talking with Lisa Lavender on her talkshow, gabbing about the two of them like they were still friends. Part of her wanted to be mad at him, but another part wanted to forgive him. The former was easy, but the latter... She couldn't. Even if it had been more than ten years, there was something about how Jaune put his foot down about having the house and her visiting now and then, it just... It hurt. It still hurt.
Maybe what he's about to say will make her anger more justified.
"First of all," he said, "and you'll probably want to write this down; Ruby is probably the most agile huntress I have ever met. Probably even more so than her teammate, Blake. You could even say, she can really move." He tapped his palm. "She can really move, right that down."
"Okay, I'll write it." Lisa Lavender chuckled as she wrote on a notepad.
Ruby let out a sigh. It was no secret that she moves a lot. After all, the whole reason for their big fight was how she wanted to keep moving but Jaune insisted on staying where he was. He was stubborn and stiff, but she was more aloof and carefree. Was she biased? Of course she was. She's Ruby Rose.
"Second, she's really mouthy." Jaune said with a furrowed brow. "Like, she can be a real brat sometimes and kinda bossy. Like, things have to go her way or no way at all." Ruby shared his scowl. "For that one, write down that she's got an attitude."
"She's got an attitude, got it."
"I do not." Ruby muttered, glaring at the screen. Did she come off a little standoffish sometimes? Sure, but only when big, meatheaded knights were trying to force her to do things she didn't want to. She huffed. How long was he going to be sitting there saying these untrue things?
"Ready for the last one?"
"I'm ready, Jaune."
"So, and write this down, she's the fastest thing alive." Ruby blinked. What did he just say? "Like, I remember we got into a food fight with each other, and she just ended it all with a WHOOSH! Instant hurricane in the cafeteria and I'm on the wall, covered in grease and soda and juice." He chuckled. "I was completely soaked in food and drinks." He sighed. "Could read back what you wrote down?"
"I think I know where this is going, but okay." Lisa Lavender chuckled. "So, Ruby Rose... She can really move."
"Ruby Rose." Jaune said with a nod.
"She's got an attitude."
"Ruby Rose..." His body tensed, grinning ear to ear. Ruby's heart raced.
"She's the fastest thing alive?"
"SHE'S THE FASTEST THING ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE~!" Jaune belted out the chorus, standing from his feet and pointing to the sky like a rockstar. The crowd went wild, roaring with applause, even as he sat down with a sigh. "I'm sorry I had to drag you through that."
"Let me guess, was this a bet you two made?"
"Not really." Jaune chuckled. "Ruby Ro- Er, sorry. Ruby is my best friend. And even though I haven't seen her since we beat Salem together, I would say that she'll always be my best friend."
"Oh?" The crowd cooed at the sweet remark. "Would you say this friendship goes beyond normal friends?"
"Yeah, but not like that." He said with a chuckle. "She's still as much my best friend as I am hers. And even if she doesn't think we're friends anymore, I would say it to my grave that she's still mine." Everyone in the audience cooed even more.
"Well, that's all the time we have for the interview. Anything more you want to say to Ruby if she's listening?"
"Yeah." He looks to the camera, smiling. "I'm still here for you, Ruby."
Ruby turned off the screen, weeping into her hands.
--------------------------------------------------
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to Lisa Lavender Live. As always, I am your host, Lisa Lavender, and tonight we interview the Huntress to end all Huntresses, a woman who just might be the most talked about woman to this day, the one and only, Ruby Rose!"
The crowd cheered and roared with even more excitement that when Jaune was on stage. Thankfully, her best friend stood in the wings, smiling as he watched her. She smiled back to him, and then smiled to the crowd and waved. As the roaring died down, Ruby directed her attention to the hostess as she began speaking.
"Thank you again for meeting with me, Miss Rose." Lisa Lavender said. "I can't deny that I'm a little honored that in the past twelve years since your victory over Salem, this is your first interview, right?"
"Yup!" Ruby replied. "Er, I mean, yes, it is."
"There's no need to be so formal, Miss Rose." Giggled Miss Lavender. "We're just having a conversation."
"In front of millions of people." Ruby clarified.
"You get used to it after a while. And I have to say that I'm surprised that you chose to come on just a month since Jaune Arc's own interview! I guess you two really are as close as he said!"
"Eheh, um, not exactly." Ruby said. "To be honest, when Jaune asked me to come on the air, it was probably only a week or so after we made up."
"Oh?" Lisa leaned in. "Was there tension between you two?"
"Something like that." Ruby answered. "Just a few days after his interview, I spoke with Jaune for the first time in more than ten years. And our last conversation before that didn't exactly end on good terms." The crowd awed at the statement.
"I wasn't expecting this much juice this early on. If you don't mind, would you care to explain."
"Not really, since it's all resolved now." Ruby said with a sigh. "Besides, I'd rather talk about us making up for lost time."
"Ooh~! Now this I have to hear! Do you want to hear, everyone?!" The crowd cheered, making Ruby shrink a little. "Well, there you have it. Tell us everything, Ruby."
"Okay." Ruby took a deep breath and let it all out. "When I showed up at Jaune's door, the first thing we did was hug." The crowd cooed. "And I had to tap him on the shoulder because I was having trouble breathing." She giggled and the audience laughed with her. "The next thing I know, we're sitting on the couch and just... talking. We talked about, well, everything!" Ruby shouted with a smile. "What we were doing, how everyone we knew was doing, when was he going to start growing his beard out." Everyone laughed at that.
"Well, it sounds like you two really are the best of friends. What was it like, burying the hatchet?"
"I..." Ruby gulped. "There was a lot of tears at first. I cried, he cried, I cried more, and then he cried more, and I told him to stop crying more than me, and he said no." The audience laughed after cooing. "And it's just... It's like I walked out that door ten years ago, and not a day passed since I came back."
"Well, isn't that sweet?" Lisa Lavender cooed. "Did anything really change since you came back?"
"Just one thing." Ruby said, smiling. She raised her hand, showing off a beautiful gold banded ring on her finger. The audience screamed at the reveal. She giggled. "Oh, come on. It's not that big."

Prof. Schnee AU Concept
To be clear this isn't the only Au/ comic I'll put the model in but it is the one that comes to mind for me most often.
All of team RWBY are born into the previous generation. Weiss along with her brother Whitley secured and manage the SDC. Though in truth Whitley takes care of most of the actual work. Though she was far from dull she did have to admit that Whitley was solely groomed to manage the company while her time was decided between it and her combat training.
Weiss herself still had power and plenty of a say but her Huntress duties took priority... And obligations as a teacher as well, yes. She was a instructor at Beacon. Helping to groom the next generation into respectable Hunters.
Tumblr media
Mostly she was pleaded into it by her partner Ruby but still she took her job seriously.
Tumblr media
Which was more then she could say for the rest of her team! All three of them off gallivanting across Remnant taking missions. Honestly sometimes they could be such a headache. But she supposed Ozpin had sent them all on those missions...
Tumblr media
Regardless she was determined to perform no less admirably this year then any other. And considering that Pyrrha Nikos would be entering this year she believed it would be a very worthwhile year given her skill.
But there was always room for surprises like miss Valkyrie, who was frankly a Yang level ridiculous powerhouse.
Yes, this year would've been a valuable one even if those were the only two of note... But they weren't. No, the third would be...
"Please Go Out With Me!"
Tumblr media
Would be Jaune Arc, a paradoxically lacking student and yet one worth her admiration. He was a special case like Blake had been according to Ozpin. A boy who secured counterfeit transcripts to earn a chance to try out Initiation. Though whereas her teams resident Faunus had been a member of the White Fang mister Arc had been a civilian out in one of Remnant's frontier villages. A simple boy with some dreams of heroics and knighthood.
He was actually like her partner Ruby in several ways but with a father who denied his dreams instead of supporting them like Ruby had... That, that was something she could relate to, could sympathize with and it was not all.
He wanted to live up to his family's name, to bring honor to it, to be anything to stop being the one to be protected but to protect others Instead. He was many things, foolish, naïve and certainly stubborn… But he was brave. What else could you call a boy who entered the Emerald Forest prepared to face monsters but courageous.
Jaune Arc had a long way to go, had a tough road ahead of him, if she’d thought catching Ruby up on their studies back in the day was hard this would be a true trial. But, but she wanted him to succeed, she wasn’t the same girl she’d been back in the day, who viewed people so callously, so superficially. She saw how much Jaune wanted this, how willing he was to put his life on the line for complete strangers as he fought the Death Stalker.
Apparently he wasn’t the most studious student but she never had issues, he may have lacked proper knowledge of Dust in her class but he was always quick to learn and put in the effort. Offering to help however he could.
Then he was being bullied, and then he stopped it, she knew how, she saw the recordings, saw Winchester Threaten him with blackmail. Saw her student being used like a lackey and distant from his team… And then she saw him refuse to follow Cardin’s order when it affected someone else. And then witnessed him save said tormentor when his teammates had ran.
Jaune Arc just like her partner embodied what it meant to be a Huntsman, he just needed some help on the way… And then he asked her out.
Flustered, nervous, clearly embarrassed, it was a sight she wasn’t used to, every man and woman who courted her had done so with annoying confidence in their status or family ties, had saw her as a particularly beneficial tool to use or trophy to own or worst of all… A knot on the metaphorical belt.
But Jaune, despite the way he entered Beacon was a rather earnest man, which was why she would do this in the kindest but also most direct way possible. Because she remembered being rejected as well. And wanted him to suffer as little as possible.
"Jaune, I'm your teacher..." He looked sad but accepting.
Tumblr media
"R-right... I'm sorry I know it was wrong t-"
"That's why I don't want you going around and telling anyone." She blinked that the words she said it seeming to finally catch up with her brain her... Wait? That wasn't what she was supposed to say! Jaune seemed to be under the same impression as her thoughts as he spoke with a  dumbfounded look on his precious youthful face.
"Really!" Yes Really!? What was she doing accepting his confession, but once more before her conscious could interrupt she parted her lips again.
"Though it isn't against the rules that Beacon upholds it is heavily frowned upon Jaune." Damn her for studying said rules! No! Stop Looking At His Absolutely Beamimg Smile This Instant! Just Because He's A Cute Boy Doesn't Mean We Could Throw Caution To The Wind.
Honestly she couldn't believe she said yes... Moreso that she felt so, so damn giddy about it! Like she was a girl back in her Beacon Days in her first relationship... Okay so technically she was a girl/ woman at Beacon and this was her first relationship but that was beside the point...
She was his teacher and this was... Well, no it wasn't illegal given that Jaune upon passing Initiation was by all legal means a adult under Remnant's Huntsman regulations... But it was still unprofessional! She'd never do anything others could bring into question... Anymore.
Like going out and taking on International criminals, known terrorists cells and preforming vigilante activities while a student.
But all that was besides the point and in the past! She wouldn't play with this boy's heart! She'd do the proper thing and brea-
"Jaune, I hope you understand that I'm not some trollope to be played with I expect you to take this seriously." NO!!! She Did Not Mean That! Shut Up Subconscious!
And oh dear now he was shooting her a very determined, gaze that made her heart skip a beat.
Tumblr media
"Of course not! I'm serious about you miss Schnee!" Oh dear he was closing the distance, and being so assertive... Was, was he always so tall...

"huntresses are heroes. we protect those who can't protect themselves."
this may be true for team rwby—their motives may vary, but they all enrolled to try and make the world a better place—but is that really true in a way that roles and titles work in the ever after?
the herbalist is, well. an herbalist who makes medicines and remedies to help others on their journeys. this is how a king winds up a prince, because of uncertainty, because something changed in how the red king behaved after alyx beat him in a game. they all have their roles to play, roles that come with their titles, and they must follow them perfectly or they will change—something that the curious cat seems to be very aware of, and steps in to prevent it from happening.
huntresses and huntsmen are heroes who protect those who can't protect themselves. yet not everyone enrolls to make the world a better place; some do it for fame and money, some to grow stronger, and some get sent to learn how to kill huntsmen. those who get their licenses may use it for good, but there are those who don't, who extort money from those they're meant to protect, who turn to look the other way when injustice is happening, who follow the law to a tee no matter what, those who work for criminals... the list goes on.
if "a huntress" was a role in the ever after, how would you actually define it? all of the above would still hold the title of a huntress, so you can't really exclude them from the definition, or even claim that there's is a true meaning behind what a huntress is, because, well...
is there? the titles of a huntress and a huntsman are fairly new, all things considered; they're a post-great war concept. but surely there were still heroes, warriors who protected their families, villages, etc. from the grimm before the great war? are they now suddenly any less heroes because they didn't hold the title of a huntress or a huntsman?
what are the academies really for?
are they there to train huntresses and huntsmen to defend humanity? or are they there to protect incredibly valuable relics?
are we heroes keeping peace? or are we weapons, pointed at the enemy so someone else can claim the victory?

‘Forgotten’ by @chantaldraw
An Amnesia AU for Dessert Oasis Week 2023! However, in this case it’s everyone else who forgets.
After RWBY Volume 9, Neo returns to Remnant with a newfound purpose, remembering that Roman told her she could be “anything she wanted, even a Huntress.” before they ran away together. She trains at Shade Academy after beating Headmaster Theodore in a fight to prove that she was strong enough to stay (though, he may have let her win). Neo eventually falls in with Team CFVY and ends up being romantically involved with Fox, becoming team CFVYN (Caffeine). At some point, Velvet is a candidate for receiving the Summer Maiden powers. Neo, wanting to protect Team CFVY, knowing the only way to rival Cinder is to have those powers and that Cinder will surely kill Velvet, convinces Theodore to pick her instead.
The Relic of Destruction in this AU works on Equivalent Exchange - to use it, you must offer something of equal value to what you want to destroy. Since Neo is a maiden, she is considered ‘equal’ to Cinder, and can use the relic to destroy her. But as a result, Cinder and Neo are both wiped from existence, the only person who remembers her being Fox since he was present when the relic was used. As a result, he grieves alone, and no one knows what Neo did for all of them.
I hope everyone continues to enjoy Dessert Oasis Week!

the time line where Ranger Jaune is from is the Dark time line, where Salem created a stronger and dangerous grimm she created more than one she created multiple types of grimm(aside from the grimm from the canon time line), Lumière a small city far away from vale, the city) hold a tree given by the brother of light in secret so the brother of darkness well never know, the tree a symbol of hope to the people lumiere human and faunas work together to build walls to keep any of types of grimm out, but the nearby towns and villages far from the city are prone to bandit raids and grimm attacks some villagers and townsfolk flied to for safety some aren't so lucky, some are victims of the bandits and some are food to the grimm, huntsman and huntress are viewed as heroes to the 4 kingdoms but to the people Lumière,Rangers and militia viewed them as glorified mercenaries who studied in some fancy academy.
Team RWBY walked into Lumière, following behind Jaune, who Blake still hadn't explained how she knew the Ranger.
As they walked through the town, Weiss noticed that the people of Lumière were looking at them, not just her, but the whole team, some looks of disgust some with confusion.
"Why are they looking at us like that?" Weiss asked.
Jaune turned to her, "Forgive them, we here in Lumière don't like Huntsmen," Jaune told her.
Ruby looked at the blonde Ranger with shock, "What!? Why!?" She asked.
"Because in all reality, you're nothing more than small mercenaries who trained in some fancy and safe academy," Jaune replied.
Weiss was confused by this, "But weren't the Rangers and the Militia of Lumière founded by a Huntsman?" Weiss asked.
Jaune smiled and rolled his eyes, "No, that's just some rumors that the council and the Academy spread to make themselves look good," Jaune replied. "The Rangers and the Militia were just regular humans and faunus who fought with everything they could, eventually, the skills we learn aren't as fancy as yours but they keep us alive, more than you Huntsmen," Jaune finished.
Weiss looked offended by the comment, "We're trained to hunt Grimm, that's our job," Weiss said, "And we could do a far better job then you,"
Jaune chuckled, "Yet who's the one that saved you?" Jaune asked, "The wilds are dangerous, you three barely survived out there, had Blake not remembered some of the things I taught her, you'd be dead and Grimm food,"
Yang glared at him, "So we should just bow and praise you for saving us?" Yang asked.
Jaune shook his head, "No, I'm simply stating that those Academies of yours teach you how to kill Grimm, their weaknesses, and how to use your aura and Semblanced, but do you have any idea what it takes to survive out there?" Jaune asked. "We Rangers are trained at a young age how to survive out there, but from what I saw, you Huntsmen don't know the basics of surviving outside of a city,"
Yang was going to retort but Blake stepped in front of her and looked at her.
"He's right," Blake said.
Yang glared at her, "You're taking his side!?"
Blake sighed, "I'm not saying he's right about everything, but Jaune has a point, what would have happened if I had not been there?"
"We would've been fine!" Yang cried, her eyes glowing red.
"Yang, be honest-"
"NO!" Yang cried, "I'm sick of this! Since he came around you've been taking his side over you're own team! I get it! He saved you back in Vale! But you don't have to keep riding his ass like some schoolgirl" Yang said, pointing her finger at the cat Faunus.
Jaune sighed, "And you call yourself protectors of humanity," Jaune said.
Yang looked away from Blake and at him, "You stay out of this!" Yang cried.
"I'll stay out of this when you and the rest of your team start treating me with respect," Jaune seethed, "Your friend has the nerve to disrespect the Rangers by implying you huntsmen are superior to us, yet Lumière's never need you Huntsmen centuries, and you can't even handle the truth of how you almost died out there because you weren't trained properly! You Huntsmen think you have it all figured out and are the heroes, but you're not... all you people are, are children who had it safe behind the walls until you chose to hunt Grimm for fame and power! Because you think it's simply a game!"
Yang's hair was set ablaze and before she could think, she pulled her fist back and punched Jaune in the face and sent him backward.
"YANG!" Blake cried.
"They attacked the Head Ranger!" cried a civilian.
Suddenly, a small group of Lumière's Militia arrived and aimed their weapons at Team RWBY.
"Hands up!" cried one of the soldiers "Surrender you're weapons now!"
Yang turned to them with a glare, "Or what!?" Yang asked with a fighting tone.
"Or this!"
Yang turned around only to see two other Rangers with their weapons against the necks of Ruby and Weiss.
Blake turned to them and quickly got in between Yang and the two Rangers holding her other teammates hostage. "Wait! Please! We're not here to fight!"
"You struck Jaune!" Cried the Ranger holding Ruby.
"She didn't mean it!" Blake cried.
"THAT'S ENOUGH!"
Everyone turned to see Jaune getting up and looked at the Militia and the two other Rangers.
Balke turned to him with a pleading look, "Jaune! Please, Yang didn't-!"
"I DON'T GIVE A SHIT!" Jaune cried. "You two surrender your weapons or I give the order to have those two's throats slit!" Jaune seethed while glaring at the two.
More Militia and Rangers showed up and one took their place next to Jaune with their weapons at the ready. Blake dropped Gambol Shroud and Yang was in shock and was about to act only to look back and see the Rangers holding Ruby and Weiss, pressing their daggers closer to their necks. Yang undid Ember Celcia and they dropped to the ground.
Jaune looked at the Ranger next to him, "Nebula, take them to the Bastille,"
Nebula nodded and she and another ranger cuffed the four Huntresses and led them away.
Today was not a good day for the four young Huntresses or Jaune...

Had a lot of Fun writing this honestly!

God I'm seeing SO MUCH Ozpin hate lately and, frankly, it's completely unfounded.
He is NOT the cause of Ruby's breakdown nor jaunes. "Oh but he gave her that advice in v1!" So?? It's not like he knew it was bad advice! Ozpin saw a student in need of comfort and offered that comfort in the best way he knew how. Oz is NOT the kind of person to leave a student alone when they're despairing.
"But he let ruby join Beacon early!" Yeah, he did, for likely many reasons. Because she's a SEW, she's incredibly important, plus she was going to get dragged into his and salems war ANYWAYS due to her eyes and the fact she was going to be a huntress anyways. Plus, ruby is the child of summer, someone we can assume Oz was close to much like qrow. Letting her into Beacon early was the SAFEST option. Why wouldn't he want to protect her? And it's likely ruby would've gone off to fight Roman if she wasn't let in, and not only that, it's entirely possible he and cinder would've targeted her due to her eyes. Being in Beacon with a team was the SAFEST possible option.
"But he lied to her, the inner circle, and rwby and jnpr/jnor!" Yeah, he did. I do think he should've told the inner circle that Salem couldn't be killed, but a bunch of teenagers he hardly knows? He said himself that his actions are backed by EXPERIENCE. He's been betrayed God knows how many times over tens of thousands of years. Lionheart was not the first betrayal by any means, and Leo literally said the exact same thing RWBY did- "We won't turn our back on you." Why wouldn't he be wary of people he hardly knows, especially kids?
"But Oz dragged kids into his war!" They were going to get involved anyways! At least Ruby and Yang were! Plus ozpin admitted in VOLUME 2 that he hoped they never had to fight in his war! Oz gave them MULTIPLE outs, including pyrrha! Qrow said that they didn't HAVE time, but ozpin gave her time to think on it anyways and even needed her VERBAL consent to start the aura transfer! He didn't WANT to bring any of them into his war! Why would he want to force pyrrha into the same situation he's been in? And as for the Academies, ozpin built them so he could give people the tools and training to defend themselves and others! Protecting the Relics was just an upside to that! Plus he can't nor wants to force anyone to be Huntsmen! It's ENTIRELY up to the students!
"Oz caused Ruby's breakdown!" Believe it or not, he didn't. Sure he gave her bad advice, but he constantly gave ruby and her team an out. She CHOSE to keep fighting. Not that it's her own fault that she had a breakdown, cause it isn't, but like. It's certainly not Oz's fault! If anyone, blame cinder and Salem! They literally attacked Beacon, Haven and Atlas! Ozpin could NOT have known that would've happened, because that was the POINT. All he knew was that there might be an infiltrator, and that was AFTER he let ruby in. I'm sure that if he HAD known about the attack beforehand, he wouldn't have let ruby into Beacon.
Oz is NOT a bad person. He's a traumatized, immortal man who's scared to trust. He cares deeply for his students and friends. He manipulated NO ONE. A lot of that trauma is because of Salem. If you want to blame any character for Ruby's mental state, blame HER.

RWBY: Patience
Jaune laid on his bed after rough day of training. Ozpin took control of Oscar today and ramped his and Noctis's training tenfold. Even with his fast healing, he still felt sore. Sitting next to him was Yang, staring at him quizzically.
Yang: Jaune? You okay?
Jaune: Huh? O-Oh yeah, I-I'm fine. *sits up* W-Why? What's up?
Yang: ...that's what I was gonna ask you. You invited me to your room and didn't say a word to me since.
Jaune: Oh. Um, well, I... I kinda wanted to talk about what we're dealing with.
Yang: The Haven situation?
Jaune: Not just that. It's everything. I mean, just last year, the only thing we had to worry about were Team CRDL being a bunch of jerks. Now we find out there are gods, girls who can do magic, these relic things and a witch to top it all off. *deep sigh* I'm starting to think we're in way over our heads.
Jaune felt an oddly warm touch of metal and looked down to see Yang holding his hand. He looked back up and saw her frowning. Her lilac eyes looked dull, as if all the joy had left her.
Yang: To tell you the truth, I think so too. All I really wanted to do was get Ruby back. But now we're dragged back into this mess and it's not gonna get any easier.
Jaune: Well... what's stopping us from walking away from this? We don't have to do this, you know? We could all just start fresh. Let Ozpin deal with this himself.
Yang shook her head. She couldn't believe how selfish he was sounding right now.
Yang: Jaune, listen to me, *turns to face him* if we really could walk away from this, don't you think we would've done it already? This isn't exactly how I imagined ending up. But if we're not gonna stand up to Salem, who else is there?
Jaune: There has to be some other huntsmen and huntresses more capable than us, though. Why would Ozpin put his faith in a bunch of kids?
Yang: Because we've faced these dangers and we know it better than they do. Think about what we've lost. Vale, Lucis, Beacon. It's all gone now. *clenches fist* If we don't join him, all of Remnant is gonna end up just like them or worse... and that's not a world I want to live in.
Jaune stared into Yang's eyes and turned himself to her. A newfound fire was burning in his heart.
Jaune: I don't wanna live in that world either. I'm just scared.
Yang: So am I. *smiles* But we're not facing this alone. Haven won't fall like Beacon did.
Jaune and Yang continued staring into each other's eyes. They leaned in closer and Yang closed hers. Jaune was about to do the same, but hesitated and dragged himself back. Yang momentarily opened her eyes and gasped faintly. What were they doing?
Yang; Oh no. J-Jaune, I'm so sorry-
Jaune: N-No, that was my fault. I shouldn't have-
Yang: No don't say that I- I should probably go.
Jaune: Yang, wait!
Yang shook her head and reached for the door, frantically leaving the room. Jaune's arm was still outreached. Clenching his fist, he growled quietly. What was he thinking? He didn't mean to scare her like that. His chest was aching at the thought that Yang would hate him. Tears fell from his eyes as he sank to the floor. He didn't want to face it, but the truth was that he started to fall for her. It had been a month since they arrived in Mistral and he and Yang had been through so much together. He wanted to be with her so much. But in the back of his mind, he thought of Pyrrha and the pain that casued him was unbearable. It was tearing him apart.
Jaune: 🎶Just have a little patience.
Still hurting from a love I lost
I'm feeling your frustration
But any minute all the pain will stop🎶
Outside the door, Yang was sitting down, crying to herself.
Yang: 🎶Just hold me close inside your arms tonight
Don't be too hard on my emotions🎶
Jaune/Yang: 🎶'Cause I need time
My heart is numb, has no feeling
So while I'm still healing
Just try and have a little patience🎶
Yang: 🎶I really wanna start over again
I know you wanna be my salvation
The one that I can always depend🎶
Jaune: *pounds ground with his fist* 🎶I'll try to be strong, believe me
I'm trying to move on
It's complicated but understand me🎶
Jaune/Yang: 🎶'Cause I need time
My heart is numb, has no feeling
So while I'm still healing
Just try and have a little patience, yeah🎶
Jaune: 🎶Have a little patience, yeah🎶
Yang: 🎶'Cause these scars run so deep🎶
Jaune/Yang: 🎶It's been hard
But I have to believe
Have a little patience
Have a little patience🎶
Jaune/Yang: 🎶Woah, 'cause I, I just need time
My heart is numb, has no feeling
So while I'm still healing
Just try, and have a little patience
Have a little patience
My heart is numb, has no feeling
So while I'm still healing
Just try and have a little patience🎶
The two of them breathed in deep and stared at the door between them.
Jaune: Yang...
Yang: Jaune...
Jaune/Yang: I'll wait for you.

I was honestly kinda taken aback that Weiss was so sad about the fall of Atlas, because…well, was it ever really a home to her?
It’s where she grew up, where she trained with Winter as a child. But it’s also where her father abused her and her mother neglected her, where her family’s legacy became the most twisted and where Weiss was miserable growing up.
I wonder if she would’ve mourned so much if she hadn’t had a few good months there with team RWBY most recently. The time where they lived at Atlas academy as a unit again after being reunited, where they became Huntresses and started hatching a plan. Yeah, the events of Volume 8 were terrible, but they were also like three days total.
I hope Weiss realizes the reason she felt at home wasn’t because she was in Atlas, but because she was with her team and her friends.

So how do you explain Qrow and Taiyang and especially Ozpin not telling Ruby anything about her silver eyes during her time at Beacon? Off the top of my head the only time Ozpin did try tap into triggering them was when he enabled team rwby go on a mission leages above them in v2.
The way I see it - that neither Qrow nor Tai would want that for her. Just keeping it a secret and hoping it never triggers was the plan. It always felt like Ruby deciding to be a huntress was something Tai wasn't comfortable with because of how Summer ended up. Of course, Taiyang isn't one to go against his daughter's dreams, so being passive-aggressive with Qrow was all he could do.
As far as Silver Eyes go, genetic inheritance is not guaranteed - Ruby being born with them was up to a chance. And at the same time, having them didn't mean she would activate them - that also would be up to chance. But if she ever uses them, she can't "undo" that.
It's also why Qrow did not sound that happy when he had to tell Ruby about the eyes at the end of V3 (And the awkward look he shared with Taiyang). None of that conversation sounded like an "Oh yay, you unlocked superhero powers!" kind of deal - it always felt like a "there's no point in hiding it now since we failed" situation. Qrow sounds defeated when he has to tell her - she already used them, so there's no going back.
Ozpin only found out she had them at the start of V1. So, till then, both Tai and Qrow hid it from him.
Why did he not do anything? Ozpin was busy with everything else happening - like the Fall Maiden assault. In the show, it does feel like he sits there going ":O" at everything going wrong, so one of the first things I am doing is the idea of Ozpin possibly having attempted to steer an unavoidable outcome towards something more favorable by using his students as chess pieces. This whole generation of Beacon has lots of weird and unique circumstances - a champion of mistral(reminder that Monty wanted Raven to fight JNPR), a boy who was allowed to stay despite forgery and having no training, a girl with silver eyes, a heiress to one of the most powerful corporations in the world, a former high-ranking white fang terrorist, a daughter of someone who deserted Ozpin. Even Nora and Ren had unique circumstances. So, instead of Ozpin sitting and doing nothing, it is more like he had attempted to stack the deck in his favor before everything fell apart.
The one time we see him interfere directly is when clearing up obstacles for their journey to Mt.Glenn - the decision that starts a chain reaction that sabotages part of Cinder's plan by having Roman use the train stuff months before the Fall. He has lived for hundreds if not thousands of years - he has patience and a sense of what to prioritize. So chances are Ozpin wouldn't directly act on the silver eyes' knowledge, but at the same time, Ruby would have likely found herself in situations that would nudge her towards them, and if they work, they work.
Ozpin shares information when it is beneficial. Knowledge is a tool for him in a way that veers toward Faustian bargain, especially if the story ISN'T going to go along with the idea of Raven being mad at being able to turn into a bird. He wouldn't tell her anything if it would make no difference. Does telling her cause her to activate them faster? Then he would. It doesn't? Then, there's no reason to inform her because it introduces too many variables.
Whatever happened with Summer didn't happen in a few days after all - Team STRQ has been in the game for quite a while. There's no reason to believe Ozpin would have moved faster with RWBY.
Both Ozpin and Salem have lived for centuries - it would be awkward if they treated the passage of time as well as the concept of planning the same way human beings(who live ~100 years tops) would.

So I just thought of an angsty Rwby au involving jaune being Ravens kid. But here’s the kicker Raven would y’know still be behind the scenes watching Yang as she does, but with Jaune and his siblings she actually gets to be a mom for them in ways she couldn’t for Yang.
And I just imagine Jaune being a huge mamas boy and having a great relationship with raven.
And I just also envisioned him with statkillers sword skills for some reason
Is this idea evil? Yes.
But it is a good idea imo
"I can't wait!" Nora bounced in her seat like a little kid going to the fair. She got some odd looks from the other hangar patrons. "We're gonna meet Jaune's whole family! His mom, his dad, his brothers-"
"Sisters." Jaune corrected.
"-his brothers and sisters-" Nora continued.
"No, Nora, I only have sisters. I'm the only brother." Nora looked him up and down. "What?"
"Nothing, nothing." She looked away. "Figured a brother would be bigger."
"Huh?"
"What's your family like, Jaune?" Pyrrha asked, steering the conversation away from Nora.
"They're great!" Jaune said with a smile. "Though, not everybody is gonna be there. Saph's moving into her new house in Argus and getting ready for her wife to give birth, the twins are living somewhere close to Vytal, and Mom is probably on a mission again."
"Oh, is she a huntress?" Ruby asked.
"She used to be. Now she's in charge of her own mercenary company. She gets really busy."
"Wow..." Ruby had stars in her eyes. "Your mom sounds really cool~!"
"Well, she clearly dropped the ball on you." Weiss rolled her eyes. "Seeing as you arrived at Beacon with no training." Jaune gave a sheepish chuckle. "Honestly, how did that even happen?"
"To be fair," Jaune gave his cheek a scratch, "Beacon was kind of a last minute decision. Mom didn't know until it was too late."
"What was her reaction when she found out?" Blake asked.
"Well..."
'Flight 2314 for Ansel is now boarding.'
"Let's just say she wasn't too thrilled."
---------------------------------------------------
"Jaune!"
"Hey, Dad!" Jaune walked up to and hugged an older man with faded blond hair. Twice Jaune's size and wearing a white and gold t-shirt and business slacks, he looked exactly what everyone expected Jaune to look like in twenty years. "These are my friends. This is Nora, Pyrrha, and Ren from my team, and my sister team of Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang."
"Hi~!"
"Hello!"
Greetings."
"Hi!"
"Weiss Schnee."
"Hello."
"Hey, 'sup!"
"Pleasure to meet you all! I'm Nick, and Jaune's told quite a bit about you kids." Jaune's dad shook each of their hand, shaking some off their feet. "So where's baggage claim? Don't want to keep everyone waiting at the house."
"I don't know about everyone." Jaune chuckled.
"Yup, everyone. Even your sisters came down!" He grinned. "I'd hate to keep your mother waiting."
"Mom's home?!" Jaune asked with a gleam of excitement in his eyes. At a nod from his dad, Jaune lept for joy and walked quickly to baggage claim.
"Huh." Yang smirked. "Never seen someone so airsick move so fast AFTER throwing up."
The group hurried after Jaune, weaving around other passengers to catch up. Meanwhile, Nick kept a close eye on Yang. There was a scowl to his face, andhe knew exactly why.
---------------------------------------------------
"Here we are." Nick sang as he parked the... well, to call it a 'car' would be misleading. Turns out, it was a vehicle well suited for ten people and their luggage, eight of which would be teens and younger. "And how is the man of the hour?"
"Uh..." Jaune took deep breaths. Even as a kid, he got carsick easily. Thankfully, cars were a lot easier for him now than bullheads. "I'm good."
"You sure?" Nick chuckled. "Wouldn't want your mom to see her only son thrown up on himself."
"Like it's the first time." Jaune climbed out and looked at his home. It was a fairly big house in the country-side; two-stories, basement, attic, outdoor pool with patches of tape. He couldn't help but smile.
"Wow..." Nora gasped in wonder. "So this is where you grew up?" She nodded. "Guess it makes sense. Nothing about you says 'city kid'."
"Uh, thanks, Nora?" Jaune wasn't sure if he should take it as a compliment or an insult. What he did know, though...
"It's about time you showed up!" ...was whose voice that was.
Jaune whirled and saw an older woman with long, black hair and piercing red eyes. He smiled back at the woman who raised him almost all of his life. He raised his hand in the air.
"Hey, Mo-"
"RAVEN!" Jaune whirled again, catching a bit of motion sickness, and saw Yang huffing like a bull, ready to charge. Her eyes were red, just like when she was mad. Just like his mom's always were.
"Oh..." And just like that, Jaune had another sister.

RWBY Characters as Tarot Cards
01. The Magician - Weiss
The Magician is a figure associated with creativity and limitless possibilities. Traditionally depicted with a wand raised towards the sky, the Magician forms a bridge between the heavens and the earth, connecting the supernatural to the natural. Channeling the raw elements of creation itself, this figure is capable of radical self-determinism and limitless possibilities. And what better RWBY character to represent this archetype than Weiss, errant Schnee heiress and God’s favorite princess.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Weiss’ primary character arc involves forging a destiny for herself outside the oppressive clutches of her father, Jacque Schnee. Rejecting the comfortable life of a noble socialite, she sets out to become a Huntress, directly defying her father’s wishes. Though its status in the canon is questionable, the first episode of RWBY: Ice Queendom implies that Weiss’ iconic battle with the Arma Gigas in the White Trailer was specifically meant to decide whether or not she would even be allowed to attend Beacon Academy. Even before receiving formal combat training, Weiss had to literally fight for the life she wanted.
Tumblr media
But of course, Weiss is no ordinary fighter. Her signature fighting style revolves heavily around the use of Dust, a resource she has plenty of access to as a member of the Schnee family. Viewed through the lens of RPG terminology, Weiss fills the role of a caster in team RWBY, capable of unleashing offensive elemental attacks or supporting her allies through the use of her Glyphs.
Tumblr media
The theme of Dust is important for Weiss' character, for it relates directly to her status as heiress to the SDC. Though she ultimately turns her back on that position, it is clear that her ties to the Schnee family have not been completely severed. Rather than completely distancing herself like her older sister Winter, Weiss is determined to salvage what she can of her family's legacy. She frequently expresses dismay and outrage at Jacques' business practices and political maneuvering throughout the Atlas arc, and her monologue to the Herbalist in V9 E4 makes it clear that she intends to redefine her family's name rather than simply abandoning it. In this, Dust serves as both the means and the ends of her personal journey: it fuels her path away from her family's history by allowing her to serve as a Huntress, but it also connects her to that same history.
Tumblr media
Much as Dust connects Weiss to her family's legacy, it also connects her with the archetype of the Magician. Though the show goes to great lengths to emphasize the difference between Dust and the “true” magic of prehistoric Remnant, the practical effects are the same - they both provide the user with the ability to create supernatural effects by channeling the raw elemental forces of creation. Likewise, historical “magicians” of our world were not so much wielders of magic as those who dabbled in forces most could not understand. Before our modern understanding of science and nature, herbalists, chemists, and astronomers were all viewed with an air of mistrust by many clergy and commoners who saw their practices as tampering with the mystical arcane. To practice these arts was to face ostracism from greater society - just as Weiss faced ostracism from her family for becoming a Huntress.
Tumblr media
Over the course of the show, Weiss has already undergone great personal change. Once cold and distant, she has grown comfortable expressing herself around whom she trusts. Team RWBY has in many ways become the family she never had as a child, a place where her icy facade can melt in the warmth of acceptance. She still bears the marks of a noble upbringing, displaying a grace and elegance that many of her more rambunctious allies lack. But her refined bearing has become an expression of personal identity, rather than a barrier meant to keep others away. Her snarky comments and snobbish standards have become endearing to both her fans and her comrades - oftentimes becoming a point of comedic relief as the normally unflappable Weiss attempts to make sense of the comically absurd situations team RWBY finds themselves in.
Tumblr media
Even though Weiss has already undergone radical change over the course of the show, in many ways her journey is only beginning. Every day of her life is a chance to redefine her family’s legacy and undo the harm her father did. It is worth noting that Weiss never gives specifics on what she intends to do with her new-found freedom. She will be a Huntress, yes - but that has always been a role that could take many forms, even before the world-order began to crumble under Salem's assault. Will she focus her efforts on defending the innocent from the Grimm? Reforming Atlas' political structure? Enacting reparations towards the Faunus for the injustices committed against them? All of the above? The question is left open-ended. Ultimately, the important thing is that Weiss has reached the point where she gets to be defined by her own actions, rather than those of her family. Each day brings with it limitless possibility to reshape herself and her identity as a Schnee. That is Weiss’ ultimate triumph - the triumph of the Magician.
Tumblr media
For the card art, the emphasis would be on Myrtenaster, both as a symbol of her own personal identity and as a classical representation of the Magician's power. Though shaped like a dueling rapier, the weapon is designed to be a wand first and a blade second. The weapon’s hilt contains a revolving chamber of Dust cartridges, and Weiss uses these to empower her Semblance - much like the quintessential depiction of the Magician channeling the power of the Four Elements. Weiss would be holding the blade high, tip pointed to the sky, as she is ready to summon her Glyphs and reshape her own destiny.

Your opinions of the disturction of vale, where tai is, and the return of the team
The destruction of Vale makes a lot of sense, even if I didn't see it coming. I feel like I really should have. It fits. Salem flexing after the destruction of Atlas, and maybe experimenting with her shiny new Relic, or letting Cinder play with it. Ambrosius can't destroy, but he can create things that do, like the extra fires that killed Watts. Ambrosius is probably very bored and wants to see someone new.
Up until I heard Vale was destroyed I thought Tai would still be on Patch. He does have a job to do, and it's pretty important to keep training more huntsmen and huntresses. There wouldn't be nearly as many students at the remaining academies without the combat schools training them up first.
But with Vale destroyed and the proximity to Patch? I don't think Signal would be safe for long. And it would be Tai's duty to protect his students. I think he'd either die fighting to protect them, or he'd get as many students evacuated as he could. That would mean he's either in Vacuo, or fled with them elsewhere. Mistral? Argus? Menagerie? The last is more likely if he has at least some faunus students and wanted to get as far away from Salem as possible. The ocean and a good chunk of the continent of Anima are between Vale and Menagerie:
Tumblr media
It's also possible Raven gave him the means to get out before he would have died. Bandit Tai? That would be an incredibly weird side hustle for him. But I don't think he'd sink to that.
Tai would also want to get Zwei from home if he wasn't at Signal with him.
Raven: "I don't have a bond with your dog. You'll have to find your own way back."
Meanwhile Zwei is quite capable of taking care of himself. Volume 2 certainly implies he can use a can opener, and he's got Aura. He'll be fine even if he's not with Tai.
On the return of the team: I do love what we got. I just can't help but wish we had more. I really wanted to see Raven reunited with Yang. Maybe I'll get that from RWBY Beyond. I'd also like to see the reunion of the Schneeblings. And Willow and Klein with them of course.

Every huntress-in-training that enters Beacon graduates from it not only as a very skilled huntress but as grade A sluts. Team RWBY finds out why as they're invited by senior huntresses to go to a club where they're exposed to every kink: blacked, grimmed, bleach, etc.
Bonus points if you can add Cardin as one of the best studs in Beacon
Content: All of it.
RWBY were excited to finally be seniors and be invited by other senior girls to a special club only for huntresses.
It had everything imaginable for the sluts in training to discover. So many choices, being in a harem, being a free use fuck dolls, being breeding slaves.
Grimm cock, white cock, black cock, human cock, Faunus cock.
Ruby went with Grimm cock, loving being knotted by Beowulves.
Weiss with big black Faunus cocks, the men there eager to punish a Schnee.
Blake did the opposite being surrounded by human studs, ready to pound the daughter of the White Fang founder.
Yang meanwhile had found the top stud of Beacon, the man with the most sluts wrapped around his finger, from Velvet to Pyrrha to Glynda. She was to join Cardin’s harem and be his blonde bimbo breeding bitch.
