oh boy i do.
Karl Heisenberg whump / hurt/comfort headcannons:
- he has chronic pain. between back pain and muscle aches from working all day, and his cadou bothering him on some days, he's more often that not in at least some discomfort.
- on the topic of his cadou, its placement is somewhere around the middle of his abdomen, much like the lycans'. miranda figured it's the least invasive to the body. (not fully whump, but kinda related i guess)
- his healing is deeply inferior to that of the other lords. while still harder to kill than an average human, he heals not much faster than one, and his wounds leave behind scars. his body can take quite a lot, but that doesn't mean the damage won't affect him.
- his pain tolerance is inferior as well, especially to alcina's. he's not a wimp, but he isn't gonna brush off bullet wounds like it's nothing. (partially headcannon this bc of the sheer number of lines during his boss fight where he mentions or expresses being in pain)
- miranda has control over the cadous and can use them to force ones who have them into compliance. while the less sentient mutants like lycans and moroicas can be simply mind-controlled, the lords would be forced to obey via inflicting pain. a flick of miranda's wrist or a clench of her fist being enough to have him drop to his knees is one of the main reasons karl didn't want to risk fighting her alone. he'd be defenseless. and the fact that she will use this in times of even slight disobeyment, makes karl fear what she would be willing to do if faced with actual danger from him.
more under the cut cause it got long lol
[[MORE]]
- if simply manipulating the cadou weren't enough to get him to obey, miranda will make the parasite shoot out its tendrils (like the ones seen on moreau and urias strajer). that does the trick.
- it has only happen a few times. each time moreau (being a doctor) had to conduct emergency surgery to fix the organ damage.
- hopefully miranda allowed moreau to use anesthetic. though then again, it'd be far from the first live surgery of karl's life.
- karl can take care of most of his wounds, however if the damage proves to be too much (he can't handle it on his own due to bloodloss and/or pain), he has to call moreau for help. he hates doing it, but if dying is the only other option, he has no choice but to push his pride aside for a short while.
- overusing his powers leads him to have pain in his electric organs that lasts a good few hours, much like straining a muscle through exercise would. generating electricity also uses up a lot of energy, so it's not uncommon for him to pass out randomly when using his magnetism (he usually doesn't realize he went overboard until it's too late).
- his cadou hurts on some days, for seemingly no reason. it can range from a dull ache to having him writhing on the floor. he doesn't know how to prevent or help it, other than just wait for it to pass. donna and moreau have taken care of him during these episodes numerous times (it's not like he could do much to protest).
- miranda, having control over the cadou, can make the pain go away in an instant. if she senses that karl is getting a bit too independent, she will cause him to go into an episode, only to arrive as a saviour once he's suffered enough. knocking into his head that he needs her. (she isn't the sole cause of the episodes, but some are indeed intentional).
- if he's ill or badly wounded (or just really exhausted), his control over his powers can slip. most commonly causing him to shock himself (and anyone who touches him when that happens) with his own electricity, randomly shoot out electricity (seen in his boss fight), or just end up glued to the nearest metal piece of furniture.
that's all i have for now, i think! boy this got longggggg.

Serenade (Daniela Dimitrescu/Reader) Pt. 2
Fandom: Resident Evil: Village Pairing: Daniela Dimitrescu/Reader Rating: T for language and blood + references to violence Warning: Lil bit of kisses with dubious consent (initial surprise, then “hmm this is nice, I guess”), as well as a tiny bit of blood. Oh, and, ya know, mild referenced cannibalism. Notes: Still no beta reader, we die like innocent chickens unfortunate enough to be in Ethan Winters’ way. Also, I’m hoping this isn’t too ramble-y, I kinda. Got excited. Maybe sorta stayed up late to write this instead of sleeping, so... PS sorry for the cliffhanger, I could not resist. Next chapter will include the reader earning their PHD in Bullshittery, while also moving us into the, like, actual central plot of Serenade (or at least the part that the romance revolves around). Previous Chapters: Pt. 1: Nocturne
Chapter 2: Overture
By the time you made it back to the maidens' quarters, it was nearly half an hour after your "shift" officially ended. Daniela hadn't taken up that much of your time, but her words had instilled a vigorous sense of anxiety in you, which had only drawn out your remaining tasks. You also weren't terribly looking forward to being interrogated by your coworkers. What would you even say? "Oh yeah, I accidentally played a note on the forbidden piano but instead of killing me, Lady Daniela just flirted with me and let me go! Haha smiley face emoji!"
Yeah, that would definitely go over great with the others. Maybe you could get away with pretending you hadn't been the one to play? Even though, you know, your daily duties were posted on the same wall as everyone else's, and anyone could see that you were the only person working in the music room today. Damnit, you think, everyone is always a bit tense when someone "gets off easy". Not that it happened terribly often. It simply made people nervous, considering they never knew if the Ladies of the house had been denied the "stress relief" they so desired, and whether or not they would want to take it out on someone else.
Hoping things would sail a little smoother this time, you took a deep breath and pushed the door to your quarters open. As soon as you stepped in you felt a dozen pairs of eyes turn your way. There had been muffled talking as you approached, but now it was silent, a heavy curtain of discomfort hanging over the room. Well, fuck, you thought, struggling to think of how to react. In the end you settled with a slightly-too-enthusiastic wave and a shy smile.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” One of the maidens asks, almost instantly, eyes narrowed and eyebrows furrowed with confusion. If you remembered correctly, her name was Cynthia, and she was one of the (currently) longest running survivors. The two of you hadn’t spoken before, which made her next move all the more confusing. Without much of a warning she moved in front of you, reaching out to grab your hands, before gently holding them in front of her chest. When she speaks, it’s with a hushed voice. “How are you not dead right now?”
“I… have absolutely no idea,” you replied, doing what you could to avoid her gaze, but ending up meeting eyes with the others in the room.
“When you didn’t get back with everyone else… we assumed the worst,” Daphne, the closest thing you had to a best friend, said. She was towards the front of the small crowd of maidens, all of whom were now gathering around you out of curiosity. “You’re probably just lucky that Lady Dimitrescu wasn’t home while you played, otherwise, well, I think we can all guess what would have happened.”
“Thank the Mother for that, literally,” Cynthia chimed, dropping your hands as she did. That caught your interest for sure. Despite being part of an eccentric “extended family”, it wasn’t that often that Lady Dimitrescu actually left the castle to visit the other Lords; or their leader, for that matter. Was something big coming? Or was it simply time for a regular check up? You didn’t have time to ponder that thought, as soon Cynthia was speaking again. “Now, please, regale us with your story, dear. It must certainly be interesting… seeing as you escaped unscathed.”
“Alright, alright,” you said, putting your hands up in a “slow down” motion. Sighing, you moved over to your bed, sitting on the edge, before starting to tell the others what happened. You left out a few details, such as the severity of Daniela’s flirting, as well as the way she touched you. By the time you reached the end of your story, the other maidens had settled in a semi circle around you. A few had started to get ready for the day shift while you spoke, but their movements were deliberately slow, and their gasps let you know they were definitely listening. It was, however, difficult to tell how anyone really felt about what you were saying. Were they looking worried because they were concerned for your safety, or for their own?
Hard to say. All you knew at the end of night was that no one was looking forward to the following night.
------------------------------------------------
Every shadow in the corner of your eyes makes your heart skip a beat. All day (night, technically) you’ve been overly paranoid, expecting Daniela or one of her sisters to pop out at any moment, their sickles raised, blood-stained lips pulled up into a grin, promises of violence dripping from their mouths. So far your anxiety had proven irrational. Experience, on the other hand, was reverse-reassuring you with memories of maidens you had hardly had time to get to know. Who were you to avoid such a fate? Could playing a little song really justify your existence to these people? These mutants?
Distracting thoughts like that swirled around your mind for hours, leaving you feeling faint and dizzy, as you desperately tried to focus on your work. Ironically, it was your tunnel vision on your worries that brought them to life.
“Humph, you should really pay more attention, sweet thing,” a voice whispers, right besides your ear. Immediately you jump, a little yelp escaping you, and whirl around to see who had crept up on you. Your wide open eyes soon settled on the youngest Dimitrescu daughter. A toothy grin lit up her face as she took you in, leaning in just close enough for you to feel her breath. “Missed me?” She asks, words melting into a fit of giggles. One moment she’s face to face with you, the next she’s evaporating into a swarm of insects, moving around the room with frightening speed before settling on a nearby table. Both her legs dangle off the edge, swinging a little in a childlike manner.
“Lady Daniela, I-” you stutter, hardly able to will yourself to speak. You can’t help but glance at the table with a feeling of anxiety, knowing that you had just finished cleaning it, and wonder if your work would be for naught. But it seems that Daniela doesn’t appreciate you focusing on something other than her. Again she buzzes into a cloud, this time coming closer to you, the insects circling you, occasionally tugging at your skin. Fight or flight tries to kick in, yet all you manage to do is freeze in place.
You don’t open your eyes until the sound of hundreds of wings beating dies down. Fresh drops of blood trickle down your brow, as well a few from smaller cuts on your arms. Panic still roots you in place, even as you stare up at Daniela with a frightened expression. At first all she does is laugh. Loudly, with no softness to it at all. This was exactly the sort of thing that you had been afraid of in the first place.
“Oh, you poor little thing… Did that hurt?” Daniela asks, trailing a hand up your arm, pausing just before her fingers touch blood. Then she leans in, once more putting her lips right next to your ear, slowly pulling off one of her gloves as she does. “Good. Maybe you’ll pay more attention to me now. You really should, being in love with me and all.” She says it so casually, and with such conviction, that you almost wonder if she knew something that you didn’t. Though you try to turn to look at you, you find her gloved hand holding your head in place. The other moves so slowly that you almost don’t notice it until her thumb is sliding across your forehead. Blood smears as she does this, but she doesn’t bother trying to be neat about it.
Instead she simply brings the finger back towards herself, her other hand turning your face as she does, so that you could make eye contact as she licks her thumb clean. As soon as the blood hits her tongue her eyelids flutter and a soft moan rises in her throat. Astoundedly the sound brought a strong blush to your cheeks. It was less about attraction per se, more about the inherently intimate nature of the moment. Daniela was so close, her hand resting on the back of your head, her eyes slowly returning their focus to you. When she sees you she can’t help but don a prideful grin.
“You taste even better than I expected, sweet thing- what a fitting nickname, mhmm?” Another giggle, another rush of blood to your cheeks. In the rush of the moment you found your fear fading out, slowly, gradually being replaced by a mix of confusion and… warmth? What is wrong with me, you think, mind racing with countless half-thoughts.
Suddenly, as quick as the strongest of impulses, you found yourself being pulled closer to Daniela, her bare hand moving to rest on your waist. For once her eyes left your own. Now they drifted lower, to your lips, giving you a single moment to realize her intentions before she acts on them. Your lips collide with hers before you can even think to protest. It’s a million times softer than you would have ever imagined- not that you had imagined. But now that you had felt this… damnit, you know you shouldn’t enjoy it, yet you found yourself kissing back nonetheless. It wasn’t like it meant anything, right? Not like you’d have a chance to kiss anyone else around the castle, either.
Within a couple moments you realize two things: One, Daniela was smiling into the kiss. Two, by Jove (by Miranda?) was she seemingly inexperienced. Based on how much flirting she had done, you had naturally assumed that she was in no way, shape, or form new to this. The kiss was a bit sloppy, although passionate, and Daniela seemed quick to mimic your movements. More than that, it seemed like she was unable to catch her breath (did she even need to breathe? Or were the movements more out of habit than anything else?). By the time she pulls away she needs to gasp, and you’re left absolutely reeling, unsure how to process any of this. On the other hand, Daniela was softly grinning, gently resting her forehead against your own.
“Delectable, darling,” she murmurs. There’s a softness to her voice that you simply cannot fathom is real, at least not entirely so. Then a pause, with her gently running her fingers through your hair, before she gives you one more little peck on the lips. When she pulls away, just far enough to really look at you, you see something in her eyes that fills you with dread: Hunger. “I think I know what you want, what you need. You want to be with me, forever, a part of me, don’t you? They always do, in the end…” Her eyes shift to your neck, and suddenly her grip on you is dangerously tight.
Instantly you shift into panic mode, trying to squirm out of her grasp to no avail. This seems to irritate Daniela, who digs her nails into your waist, making you gasp. Without hesitation she seizes the opportunity to push you against the nearest wall, the hand that had caressed you so gently now pinning you down. Your thoughts are racing, desperately searching for anything that might buy you some time to get away, or even dissuade her entirely. But seconds tick by with nothing coming to light, your hope quickly fading. Gulping, you squeeze your eyes shut, ready to accept your fate.
And then… it hits you. An idea, maybe, that might just be stupid enough to work. Here goes nothing…
“Wait! Don’t you want me to show you my love?” You ask, somehow managing to mask the pure terror you were feeling. Hell, you slipped in a bit of confidence, sounding far, far more sure of yourself than you really were. Apparently it was enough to give Daniela pause. Her teeth had been mere inches from your neck, but now she was watching you closely, head tilted at a slight angle. “I can hardly do that if you kill me so soon, love. Don’t you want to see everything I have to offer? To know me truly, fully, before we become as one?” Another pause, a little hum from Daniela, then a slow, spine-chilling smile.
      “Go on, then… show me.”

i know we're all frustrated with the limited lore we have regarding the four lords but i wanted to put some questions out there in hopes someone has the answers. if not ig we can just speculate, & maybe the answers will crop up via word of the writers eventually or smth
first off, heisenberg's wiki page currently states smth about him being kidnapped as a child. i know there's a lot of talk about "forced to be her children", but is anything canonically mentioned regarding miranda kidnapping the lords, especially with them as minors? either from the village or from elsewhere, considering their diverse last names?
even if something along those lines happened with heisenberg, that just brings up a dozen more questions. like, we know alcina was 44 yrs old when miranda got a hold of her. i don't quite understand how the whole eva-reincarnation thing was intended to work, but apparently the potential "vessels" didn't need to be young girls. lady d's wiki makes it sound like she inherited her family's castle in her 40s (in the 1950s) where she met miranda, was enchanted by her, and willingly allowed herself to be altered by the cadou.
i know there's some (undated) documents you find in the game where someone discusses how miranda took donna in, & i think she's described as a young woman, so that means she was an teen or adult when she was infected, too. presumably an adult, if her aging stopped when she made contact with the cadou like alcina & miranda. i'd consider a theory that she's actually just younger than the others, but everything in her home indicates shes from the 20th century, too. all the lords have an old-fashionedness to them, but alcina's the only one who's time period is confirmed. donna kinda reminds me of the 1920s, actually.
moreau... everything about his dialogue implies childishness. it'd be a solid bet that, if the child kidnapping concept is true, he was a fellow victim. the thing that's throwing me off... he has a tattoo. a sailor tattoo. maybe, before things went crazy, even under miranda's influence and with the mutation, he was able to be semi-normal and even travel and go somewhere modern enough to give tattoos, but i'm inclined to think it's a relic of a past life. also worth mentioning he seems to be somewhat older, as he has gray hair... did he not stop aging as the women have, or was he, again, influenced by miranda as an adult?
karl's in a similar boat with his age, but there's that damn wiki sentence that's throwing me off - kidnapped as a child. was the cadou introduced to his body when he was a boy? did miranda really try her often-lethal experiments on children? has he aged normally, then? we'll guess he's late 40s - was he born in the early 70s, and he really is alcina's little brother? and was he the only one of the lords subjected to that specific hell? taken and experimented on as a child, whereas the other three were willing adults?
despite my confusion over the origin of the kidnapped child concept, this theory does make sense. it especially explains his hatred towards her.
but it also opens up another can of worms. now im thinkin... how awfully convenient that there were four notable families in the area who's most recent descendants happened to be able to semi-successfully bond with the cadou. it makes me wonder.. aside from alcina, and maybe donna as well (namely bc of the gravestone by her home), did the lords actually hail from the families they represent? is it possible miranda gifted moreau and heisenberg the last names of long-gone families who'd once been prevalent in their region, along with the reservoir and factory, respectively, both families had once presided over?
either way, whether descended from locals or outsiders brought in - where are their families? donna's parents are dead, okay... how about the rest of them? surely all four of them don't have absolutely no family at all. which, in line with what i just talked about... is it possible heisenberg was taken from his family as a kid? i doubt miranda would have the decency to exclusively seek out orphans.
then there's his line about "she took me. took us." (which also lends to the concept of him being a child when he got dragged into things, as adults are less often "taken".) i get the feeling 'us' doesn't mean the other lords, whom he disdains. maybe, karl was abducted with one or more biological family members, and the cadou experiments proved fatal with them? it could further explain why he hates miranda so damn much, and the way he's the only one who understands that she doesn't truly care for them. the others only saw what she had "gifted" them - whereas, perhaps very early on, karl lost something precious to him at the hands of miranda. maybe he was the first to see her monstrous side.
and if miranda did sort of raise him, where'd he learn the engineering? donna's an amateur botanist, alcina paints & had enough knowledge of science to successfully make her daughters, and moreau's an amateur (and unsuccessful) scientist as well... did heisenberg teach himself, like the others seemingly taught themselves about their hobbies? or maybe did miranda, brilliant in her own right, teach him in an attempt to bond? would she care enough to? doubtful, but maybe she felt compelled to, in an attempt to win him back, after killing off that hypothetical family member (or members?).
there's so many loose ends... it's both frustrating, and incredibly stimulating. i love puzzles lol

Tell me about the meat man right now 👁👄👁
How did he meet our metal husband
ahhaha!! ehehe hoo.. That's one of the big ones... Guess everyone on my tumblr here is gunna get it before everyone else :3c So the short version is they met because they are both used/taken by Miranda and were therefore just kinda.. Placed Near Each Other and despite a kinda rocky start a Mutual Interest and complimentary personalities brings them Together. Badda Bing Badda Boom the rest is history.. The uh.. Longer version of the story however...
Lazarus was "abducted" (in quotations because it was more like.. he was manipulated into coming to the village on the promise of all the time space and resources he would need to create his Art on the condition he also aid Miranda with her, as she put it at the time, 'cutting edge historical recreation project'. The deal was too tempting and he dropped his old life as a struggling young ~edgy outsider~ artist -he was doing some wild stuff with taxidermy and had some Wild ideas about Life and Recreation and Rebirth, which is what drew Miranda to him in the first place- in Amsterdam to travel to what.. turned out to be an isolated fairy tale Mold Cult in the middle of nowhere on the other end of the continent.) by Miranda in the mid-late 1970's, when he and Heisenberg would have, by my age head cannons, been roughly 25-32? give or take..(Lazarus is actually like a year or two older than Heis, fun fact!) and was brought to the village as a hired artisan, tasked with Creating a perfect vessel for Eva in a time when, after so many failed experiments on already-extant individuals, Miranda thought change of strategy may be in order. (This was the beginning of the path that eventually led her to reach The Connections, though not directly through anyone Lazarus knew or was involved with back in the Netherlands)
After some brief testing to determine if he could handle it he was "gifted" his own Cadou implant, to serve as a sort of "Loyalty Insurance". During this procedure he also received the "brainwashing protocol" mentioned in-game (Which I am choosing to interpret as something being physically done to the brain and/or memories with Miranda's mold powers and not just.. typical cult conditioning.) And was introduced to the Village and other Lords as Lord Bosch. (A name and identity he selected for himself after waking up, as he felt whoever he had been upon coming to the village had been killed, and he was.. someone, or something, else. My Boy is weird and esoteric in All Things All The Time Always.) He was not a new child, he wasn't to be part of the Family at all, (As he has no connection to anyone or anything from the village Nor was he meant to be a potential vessel for Eva at any point.) but he was still a Big part of Miranda's plans, and someone for the villagers to fear and respect as they would the other four. A shiny new Obedient little Servant. Left all alone in a crumbling Manor House to do his dark little deeds....
Heisenberg was both furious that Miranda had taken yet Another victim but was also.. quiet willing to take it as an opportunity to Finally get someone on his side. And in a chain of events I will Not reveal (because at that point this Basically becomes a fanfic and not a synopsis and I also want to save Something for my eventual dive into telling the story via the medium of Comics..) He makes an attempt to break the brainwashing, he knows it can be done, he did it to himself, he.. Almost got Alci, he has suspicions about Donna but nothing confirmed... and so he tries, leaving at the end of his attempt a photograph of the Factory with a note on the back; "come to me when you understand."
it doesn't work.
There is a period of time, in the history of these two knowing each other, when Heisenberg only looked at Lazarus with rageful disappointment and contempt. A failure, just another worthless Peon in Miranda's ranks for him to fight against, and clearly nothing he could do, or could have done, about it. (During this period Lazarus was wound rather tightly, confused and afraid and very alone and spending quite a bit of time with Alcina, he found Karl's attitude to be quiet Distasteful in turn. But still, in secret, Lazarus did his fair share of Looking. Though is certainly wasn't with Contempt.)
Patience is a Virtue however, but the problem is that Heisenberg is not a very virtuous man. His plan Did Work, Lazarus's brainwashing did break, it just.. took some time. And some significant effort on Lazarus's part. What follows is Another series of events I don't want to spoil but it starts with Lazarus reaching out to bridge the gap between them in a scene that features my head cannon that Karl doesn't have much of a sweet tooth and proves true the idiom that the fastest way to a mans heart is through his stomach. (don't worry, it's not literal.... This time.)
And so the two.. Meet!
Officially and on their own terms! They are both very cautious at first, Lazarus has not seen a very good side of Heisenberg at this point so he's unsure how good of a potential companion he may make and Karl isn't 100% sure this isn't some kind of twisted plot of Miranda's to find out what he's planning and keep him subdued. (Both of them are also Deeply insecure about their Own ability to connect with someone else but would either of them fully admit this? Nah.)
The more time they spend together the more they find they are.. actually quiet similar.. From the parallel kinds of work they do, to the fact Neither of them seem to be able to shut the Fuck up ever, to just their general Nasty And Devious Vibes..
What starts as a Professional Team-Up.. becomes something of a Genuine Friendship, becomes well.. Two Terrible Old Men In Love, as I like to put it.. -Tale as Old As Time plays in the distance- (There is, of course, a long part in the middle there where they are both mutually pining idiots who just don't realize what's going on during which both of them have a number of "oh.. oh........ Shit." Moments culminating in a very melodramatic encounter on a dark and stormy night where both of them have to tend to the other ones injuries and it opens them both up to trust and intimacy and vulnerability v-v... That both of them immediately run away from and hide for a few days before realizing they Can't -and more importantly Don't Want To- let this slip by and they come back together to.. shall we say.. Open Themselves Up To Intimacy and Vulnerability ;;;;OvO )
And the rest becomes.. an interesting story of Domestic Villainy and Respect and What It Means To Be Human and Not Really Knowing What You're Doing But Trying Anyway Because You Finally Have Something Good And Yours In This Nightmare And You Don't Want To Loose It So You Have To Learn How To Be Vulnerable and Just Bein' Two Sexy Frankenstein-Ass Motherfuckers Who Kiss A Lot. v-v oh and they're both Trans so jot that down.

Responses to this post because I needed more words. Also there was a lot to answer to this time around, so I decided to smoosh everything into one post. >.>
@cornydogx I think Heisenberg may be an actual grave robber, he was depicted as that in the concept art. I don’t think he actually kills people and then experiments on them. Oskar the stable boy got drunk and died in the well, and Heisenberg finds him. In one of his notes he says “maybe I should use live bodies.” But he evidently doesn’t. But idk, you’re probably right, he may actually use live bodies because how is finding so many dead ones to begin with
I've seen that concept art as well, and I love it! Very Dr. Frankenstein. Though Heisenberg needing a car? And having assistants to help him dig bodies up? lol I don't think so. And TBH where they get so many test subjects never fails to confuse me. Miranda apparently experimented on at least 180 people before finding Alcina. 180 people until she got a single relative success! How many people did she kill or turn into lycans to get all 4 of the Lords!? Additionally, Castle Dimitrescu needs staff (that they apparently constantly murder), and Moreau does experiments as well! So if Donna is also luring people away and Heisenberg needs bodies for his own experiments... How the FUCK is ANYONE living in this damn village! The village feels like it would house a few hundred people at most. But then we see SO MANY bodies hanging around in Heisenberg's factory! Thousands maybe! WHERE ARE THESE BODIES COMING FROM!? I just don't think that this village can support that kind of population given the number of houses there! Kinda makes me want to do a census on the village in RE Village, not gonna lie. >.>
Though to be fair, just about everyone in the village was massacred right before Ethan arrived, so I guess that it's feasible that Heisenberg could have collected literally Every. Single. Body. of everyone living there for his army, having just used the bodies of whoever happened to have died around town for his prototypes and prior experiments before getting the assembly line up and ready to go! (Between all of this body snatching and setting up all those boxes for Ethan, MAN does Heisenberg sound busy!) But still. I don't know about you, but I can absolutely believe that Heisenberg grave robs on occasion... Though incomplete families do seem to be A Thing in the village... The Lords constantly killing and/or experimenting on the people living there could maybe explain that a lot.
@penquinlori to cornydogx Heisenberg might have been getting the dead bodies from the other lords, they seem to go though a lot of them.
Actually... I can absolutely see that. I can absolutely see either the other Lords and Miranda handing Heisenberg their leftovers from their experiments, or when their experiments fail and their subjects die, him just sneaking off with their bodies.
But then that just made me think... The fact that Alcina seems to keep the bodies of the female servants around for her own experiments... Maybe she just gives the bodies of the male servants she and her daughters kill to Heisenberg. Certainly explains why most of his creations seem to be male! Also explains why he's so casual about the idea of her cutting the dick off of any man that enters her castle. Like, the first time he examined a body whose dick was chopped clean off, he was rather surprised! But after around the 20th time or something, it just lost its novelty.
More from penquinlori Yeah, Beneviento’s whole segment makes me wonder how much of it was “real” and how much of it was Ethan tripping out. Can Donna even control what they hallucinate? It’s entirely plausible that it was mostly in his head and he actually just chased a terrified women though her empty mansion before bludgeoning her to death.
Also regarding Donna’s ethicality, even if her intentions are pure there’s the implied complicity. Cause as mentioned previous the Duke says that none of her playmates return. Even if she’s not killing them herself it sounds like she’s letting them die.
Well for one, the giant evil baby was probably all a hallucination! Because if that was real just... What the fuck Donna!? I think that would have to VERY much count as a 'live human subject' that she has experimented with/on. No way that thing would be natural... And I would hope that she can influence what her 'guests' hallucinate at least a little. If anything was real in that segment of the game, it was probably the props that Ethan was interacting with (specifically I would think that the Mia doll was an actual physical existing object) and when he could be hallucinating about anything, for him to specifically be hallucinating about his loved ones seems a little too thematic and pointed for it to have not been at least a little influenced by Donna. Though I can absolutely believe that she was just a scared woman being chased through her home by a ticked off dad with a pair of very sharp scissors after she bit off more than she could handle. But also she clearly deliberately makes herself invisible, so at the very least she can control the hallucinations to that extent.
And yeah! That's what I was thinking, actually! After I made this realization that at best she's letting people die after concocting these false pretenses, I realized that's actually really quite cruel (even if he intention isn't there) and therefore a solid argument can be made that Heisenberg acts more ethically! And so now that's left me rather torn on who the worse between the two of them is. Because where before I thought that Donna really didn't do anything wrong at all, now I've come to realize that she isn't actually blameless and has done genuinely bad things to people, even if she doesn't mean to. Not gonna lie... I do think that subjecting someone to a cruel death is probably on a similar level of bad as human experimentation. But it's still a hard call!

Halo 2 is the most Two
According to a semi-reliable source (TvTropes’s Halo/Funny subpage), Halo 2 was once described by a Bungie PR guy as, and I quote:
“like Halo 1, only it's Halo 1 on fire, going 130 miles per hour through a hospital zone, being chased by helicopters and ninjas ... And, the ninjas are all on fire, too.”
2004 really was a special time, huh?
Tumblr media
But I’d argue the thing that quote fails to mention is how much 2 is in Halo 2. Duality is a core theme of both the gameplay and story, and that’s something I’d like to highlight.
Not because it’s important. Because it’s fun.
Halo 2 is a game about two. Literally, in fact, as the story revolves around two protagonists, whom you switch back and forth between as the Campaign progresses. John-117, the Master Chief, hero of the first game, who spends 2’s opening moments being hailed for his achievements during the previous story. And Thel’ Vadamee, the Arbiter, background villain of the first game, who spends 2’s opening moments being publicly humiliated and tortured for his failures during the previous story.
Tumblr media
This cutscene is very much intentional, it’s a cool parallel that sets up the twin stories of the game, but it far from ends there. Because Halo 2 is a sequel, it’s setting up a grander universe, one that began in the novels that released between the games. However, because the game is still a big-budget sequel to a smash-hit game effectively owned by one of the biggest companies on the planet, the game could never be as experimental or the story as interesting as the world suggested by said novels and lore.
Tumblr media
So there’s a lot of twos. We see a second Halo ring in the second Halo game, which is confusingly named Delta Halo even though it’s the second one we see in the franchise. Also, it’s official Forerunner name is Installation 05, even though Delta is the fourth letter in the Greek alphabet, and the Halo from the first game was Installation 04…
Tangents aside. Twos. Ultimately the story is less two-ey than what I’ll get to in a bit, but there’s still some there. The second Halo comes with a second Monitor, and the first of the two Covenant Prophets that are encountered (and killed) over the story’s course. Two of Earth’s orbital defense platforms are obliterated in the first level, uhhh, two new major Human characters are introduced (Lord Hood and Miranda Keyes) along with two named Sangheili (Both the Arbiter and Rtas ‘Vadumee, as the Heretic Leader isn’t given a name in the game proper). There’s like, two real boss fights? I guess? Regret doesn’t fucking count.
I think I’m kinda grasping at straws so I’ll move into the gameplay, because boy howdy there’s where the twos really come in. While Halo featured both Human and Covenant weapons, Halo 2 was the game that defined them as two clear opposed factions- much like in a Strategy game, each has equivalent items to each other. The Battle Rifle and Covenant Carbine are both new weapons that add a mid-range option for each faction, as well as making up for the severe nerf to the Magnum. It’s now effectively paired as a sidearm with the Plasma Pistol, their deadliness largely confined to one half each of the Shields/Health divide the game uses for Multiplayer. The SMG replaces the Assault Rifle to better mirror the Covenant Plasma Rifle, and the Beam Rifle is introduced as the Covenant variant Sniper Rifle. The Energy Sword and Fuel Rod Gun are both now actually playable, serving as counterparts to the Shotgun and Rocket Launcher respectively. You get the idea. This somewhat carries over to the Vehicles, with the Covenant Spectre being introduced as a counterpart to the Warthog, though that’s the only new vehicle off the top of my head. Yknow, because I’m talking out my ass.
Tumblr media
Oh, also this is the game where they put in dual wielding guns.
The campaign progression is also fond of its twos, if you ignore the first level. Two cutscenes (or, a cutscene and a tutorial+in-engine-cutscene+cutscene), the one we’re ignoring, Two Chief levels, Two Arbiter levels, Two Chief, Two Arbiter, then we actually alternate. Twice. Because why not.
Late into the game, however, there is somewhat of a shift in this dual natured game. The Great Schism occurs in the plotline, as the Covenant Civil War begins, and a second Covenant faction breaks off after having been betrayed by its leadership. There is, in fact, a third Prophet in the form of Truth, who survives the game (but not the sequel). There is also arguably a third protagonist for this extra faction, but not one we get to play as- the game’s final boss, Tartarus, leader of the Brutes, and head of the Covenant military once the Schism occurs. This third faction adds a new weapon, the Brute Shot, the sole weapon in the game not in the style of the gunmetal-black UNSC or the typically colourful and gleaming Covenant armoury- the Brute Shot’s dull muddied grays and browns and wicked bayonet a reflection of its wielder’s personality. The two story paths of Halo 2 run alongside each other before meeting and splitting off following the dramatic introduction of the Gravemind.
Tumblr media
This is a reflection of the true nature of Halo 2, as the final product strayed farther from the initial vision than many are aware of. There’s a little known fact these days that the Halo trilogy wasn’t meant to be a trilogy, with 2’s planned story extending into what would become the majority of the third game. 2 was supposed to end at the Ark, with the death of Truth, with the revelation of the truth of the Forerunners and the end of the war.
But things change. Halo 2 spent a lot of time in development on an engine that wasn’t practical for the game they were trying to make, so much of the time was wasted. Add in a hastened Christmas release date, and you get the abrupt finale and cliffhanger that is Halo 2’s story. This isn’t to say that the game is bad, far from it, but it had potential to be so much better. Like the endgame of its plot, Halo 2 could have also been Halo 3.
I’m going to be honest, I thought I had a lot more tangible points to hang on to when I started writing this than I actually did. Much like my last Halo-related post, there’s a lot of grasping and chasing shadows in this. Maybe next time I should just talk about why I like these games or something instead, that’s a lot easier.
Anyway does anyone wanna come play Firefight with me please do it’s been so long since I’ve done that with anyone other than internet randos

hey anon so I'm going to try and format this with my commentary to the best of my ability. also, thanks for sharing!
Hi! Just read your thread about Heisenberg's powers and Miranda's intentions, and I feel like what Miranda was specifically looking for in a vessel can be summarized in this one line of hers from a villager's note: "This [Rose] is the chosen child. She will return to her original form no matter what befalls her."
It's also implied several times throughout the game that Ethan Winters is being put through some sort of 'test' for Miranda to study exactly how resilient he is, and thus have a better idea of Rose's powers. Cutting Rose's limbs and putting her in four different flasks in itself was also a way for Miranda to evaluate the baby's powers and see how they operate. With that in mind, I honestly believe that the one thing Miranda was looking for was not really an all-powerful weapon, but simply a vessel with high regenerative powers. We're talking about a mother who was traumatized by the loss of her child, who died from the great influenza pandemic. She doesn't want to risk her daughter to die on her again while she's completely powerless about it, so it makes sense that she would favor subjects with strong defensive powers over those with strong offensive abilities.
I definitely see your point here, but I wonder how she could know Rose had such regenerative powers, considering her network of knowledge comes through the megamycete and absorbs those who died there. she mentions discovering of her existence through the Connections, which could mean they were studying Rose since before birth? idk, it just seems like a massive shot in the dark.
buuut Heisenberg also mentions Miranda being scared of Rose because of how powerful she is, which to me sounds like she was fully aware Rose wasn't just good at defense, she was also powerful offensively, so we circle back to her wanting to create New God Baby.
about Ethan, I think him being tested was bull she fed the lords so they'd keep him alive. she mentions at the boss battle that he has "awakened" the megamycete - I think Rose's connection to the mold likely made her somewhat aware of what her father was going through and stirred something within her, something that awoke her powers and then weakened Miranda in retaliation.
Hence why Dimitrescu was the one that was labeled 'Most compatible' with the Cadou in her medical report, and was considered, in Miranda's letter to Eva, as the nearest to perfection any of her experiments ever came, despite not having offensive abilities as powerful as Heisenberg's. Her main feature was to be a total bulletsponge, and she was only made vulnerable by a specific mixture of several poisons that interfered with her regenerative properties and made her possible to kill.
Two of the other three Lords were more resilient than regular human beings in their mutated form, but not as invulnerable as non-poisoned Dimitrescu was even in her normal form, while all three of them could be defeated with regular weaponry and, in their normal forms, were just as vulnerable as regular humans are.
to be fair, Alcina did grow metal claws at will. combine that with being near invulnerable to attacks, and again we circle back to a nice combo of defense + offence.
I think we enter iffy territory with discussing the lords' resilience, because aside from Donna, we don't really know anything. even with her we don't know, because Ethan did stab her weak spot. we don't really know if she'd die if stabbed, say, in the neck or something. we never shoot unmutated Moreau and bullets don't reach unmutated Heisenberg, so it's mostly conjecture at this point. mutated Moreau is invulnerable when cocooned, and for mutated Heisenberg you don't even shoot him, you shoot the malfunctioning metal bits he's absorbed.
Little Rose was the only one whose regenerative powers outclassed Dimitrescu's, and, unlike her, there doesn't seem to be any downside to her abilities. Although Jack Baker would have been an equally good option but I don't think Miranda ever learned about him (nor would she have bothered traveling all the way to Louisiana to abduct him, anyway)..
So, in the end I don't think age or gender played a part in whether or not the Lords made good vessels for Eva, the specific powers that came from the Megamycete are truly what Miranda was after. Heisenberg seemed like a good option to us because we tend to think that great offensive powers are always the superior choice, but Miranda appeared to mostly value resilience over combat skills in her search for a vessel. I guess that's why Rose, followed by Dimitrescu, were considered to be better vessels than Heisenberg.
Rose is a literal baby, so we really can't know what her weaknesses are. which means it's a colossally bad idea overall, especially when we factor in that she was aware and actually fought back. but that is besides the point.
I think you're kind of missing the point of the posts, though. it's not that I think Heisenberg's offensive powers made him a good specimen or vessel, but more on that a little later.
About Heisenberg having the potential of being truly OP when we think about it, however, I believe we kinda saw almost all of the bosses in their full glory (minus Dimitrescu who had to be specifically poisoned to be killable, and Mother Miranda whose powers and control over the Megamycete were being overruled by baby Rose) and that their powers are simply limited. Heisenberg can't deflect bullets nor control iron in other people's blood, for example (in fact, he seems to only be able to control the metal that he can see, within a certain range) so I doubt he would be able to do all the things that you talked about as well. Moreau's acid couldn't melt metal and other non-organic materials either. Beneviento's psychic abilities are useless if you wear a gas mask to avoir inhaling her flowers and Dimitrescu won't be able to regenerate if her organism is already busy fighting poison. Indeed, writers could make Moreau's acid able to melt anything, the spores of Beneviento's flowers able to penetrate any material, and Dimitrescu invulnerable to everything including the strongest poisons, but what would be the point in that? I think not giving them those limitations would be a disservice to their characters and impair their complexity more than it would flesh them up as you suggest. And, as you pointed out, it would make the whole narrative of Heisenberg dedicating his life to build an army to defeat Miranda and get a taste of freedom pointless, instead of just accepting the fact that his powers have limits. This whole last point is just my opinion, though.
my point, anon, is that Capcom gave these characters these powers and then promptly limited them because from a narrative standpoint, they'd ruin the plot. you can't not give Dimitrescu a weakness, because then the game doesn't progress. however, we're not really talking in game here. in game, yes, Heisenberg is limited. what we were discussing is that they gave him this immensely vast power and then limited it either because they didn't think too much of it or just because he can't be an OP villain - and we're exploring what he could do if narrative confines weren't an issue.
I'm not saying Capcom portrayed them wrong, or did them dirty, or anything. what I am saying is that maybe the reason they couldn't do these things you mentioned is because they don't know they can, or haven't developed such abilities, and those are fun ideas to explore, in particular when you are talking about things away from canon. we're not likely to get in depth explanations or development in any of that, so we make do. in particular because there are people out there RPing, writing, or just daydreaming theories about their favorite characters.
the way I see it, it's kinda stupid to give a character fire and then stipulate that it can't burn. for Heisenberg in particular magnetism is this really weird part of science that does things that are hard to understand and what we see in game is "metal man only pulls metal, but can't even bend it". we see "creepy doll gives man bad trip" when we could be seeing "creepy doll spread trippy pollen all over village and now everyone's dancing naked". you know? we're not arguing Heisenberg was the right vessel, we're playing with canon but away from it. I'm not sending a letter to Capcom to say they were wrong, I'm writing pre-canon shit that explores "what could have happened before moldy man and choppy baby"

Rust and Black Thorn Trees. Chapter 2.
The girl tiredly wandered, getting increasingly exhausted.
She didn’t know where she was.
She knew nothing.
What Miranda neglected to focus on, however, was the fact that she also transformed when on the brink of death, to attempt to find something, anything, to eat, or to wear.
She saw a pack of lycans.
She silently transformed, as how Mother taught her.
Or, more accurately, beat into her.
She stalked the lycans for the perfect moment.
They grabbed bunnies as though they were chips, the high-pitched screaming echoing through her ears.
As one of the lycans had a rabbits leg in it’s mouth, Dasha struck the lycan closest to her, slashing it’s throat. She quickly moved from lycan to lycan before they could react.
As she transformed back, she immediately started tearing the flesh from the lycans with her teeth. She found that eating right after transforming prevents the nausea and the puking, it doesn’t prevent the leaking of the liquid from her eyes and nose, though.
She binged, knowing that this may be her last meal for a while.
She could smell winter on the horizon, and this was her life for the next six years.
Over these six gruesome years, she was able to find the occasional lost tourist or hunter in the forests surrounding Heisenberg’s Factory.
She stole their weapons, and their clothing.
She found that she preferred men’s clothing.
The girl would transform less and less, using the limited ammo and resources she had.
Karl Heisenberg watched her last hunt, as it was the closest to the factory she’d ever been.
Risky.
Hmm, he thought as he watched her dance with the lycans.
With a shotgun shell to the face, of course.
“Hey, you know, there isn’t anyone who can sell you ammo around here,” Heisenberg said, walking toward the girl. She jumped, cautious, “if you run out, you’re kinda fucked.” he stated, putting out his cigar.
She had heard of Lord Heisenberg. Never met him though.
“What are you implying?” she spat.
“All i’m saying is that running out of shotgun shells during the wintertime, when it’s nearly below zero, can be deadly,” he paused, spitting on the cold leaves, “especially for someone as tiny as you.” he laughed at her glare.
“Don’t call me tiny.” she replied, walking past him.
In the recesses of her mind, she was okay with it.
Heisenberg led Dasha to his factory.
It was loud.
The metal clanging against itself, the periodic releases of steam, and the...chainsaw revving?
Heisenberg opened a hatch, and screamed “SHUT YOUR HOLE, ROTTEN CUNT.”
The revving stopped.
“Is one of your failed experiments down there, Karl?” she teased, taking off her jacket as the humidity made it extremely warm, and uncomfortably sweaty. It revealed how muscular she had grown. She was still slim, but a little buffer from when she was with Her.
He seemed taken aback by her calling him Karl, instead of Lord, or even just his last name.
He liked that she didn’t pay his status any mind, he knows he didn’t give a fuck.
“Maybe. I’ll throw you down there if you decide to say some shit.” Heisenberg said with a slight growl.
“I could take it, i bet.” she purred.
“Don’t tempt me, bitch.” Heisenberg whispered, emphasizing ‘bitch’
The girl lightly skipped down the hallway, amusing Heisenberg.
“If I didn'thave a spare room I'd make you sleep outside.” Heisenberg called. She turned and nodded, “It’s right over here.” he pointed to a door on the side of another hallway. The room they were currently in had the bare necessities, albeit it was a mess.
She really didn’t mind though.
She walked to the room he was talking about, and opened the door to a bed that seemed to be collecting dust.
In fact, everything seemed to be barely touched.
Despite her past with cleaning, she needed to at least dust everything down.
“You got something i can wipe this shit down with? Looks like a tomb in here.” she yelled.
“Yeah, gimme a sec, christ” Heisenberg seemed to be struggling with something. She left the room, confused, and then amused at the sight before her.
He seemed to be trying to fix his oven, or cleaning it, whatever he was doing, he was struggling with it.
“Pfft, need help?” she asked, smirking.
“I’d rather kill myself than get help from you.” he coldly replied, sighing as he took his head out of the oven. His face was slightly stained with ash, and he was sweating. She leaned up again the counter, looking at him with an eyebrow raised. Now that she had a closer look, he seemed to be cleaning to oven judging by the ash stained rag soaked in water he was holding.
“This isn’t how you do it, let me help you.” she demanded. Heisenberg was slightly surprised by this, but silently swallowed a bite of his pride, and stood up, arms crossed.
“So how do YOU do it?” Heisenberg asked in a condescending tone.
“You got baking soda?” she suddenly asked, “’cause we’re gonna need a decent amount.” she added, taking out the oven racks.
“I have a lot of it, i guess.” Heisenberg replied, slightly confused.
“Do you realize how much of a fire hazard this is? I might scrub your entire fucking house down at this rate.” Dasha exclaimed, “where’s the baking soda?”
“There.” he pointed to a cabinet. She opened it and grabbed the tin, holding it for a moment to see if she’d need another one.
“Vinegar?” she asked.
“In the same cabinet.” Heisenberg said, annoyed and impatient.
“This is gonna take a day, I hope you know.” Dasha laughed.
“Fucking WHAT?” Heisenberg asked, shocked.
“Yeah. I have to-”
“I DON’T EVEN KNOW YOUR NAME AND YOU’RE CLEANING MY OVEN.” Heisenberg said, frustrated.
“...Do you wanna know my name?” she asked, pouring baking soda and water into a cup, “or how to clean your own fuckin’ oven?” she said, sarcastically.
“Both’s fine I guess.” Heisenberg rolled his eyes.
“Dasha Jelíneková. That’s my name.”
“Dein Name ist schön...” Heisenberg muttered.
“...what?” Dasha asked, confused.
“Nothin’. Explain why it’s gonna take a day.” he quickly changed topics.
“Well, wiping down the interior with a soaked rag might get some of the grime off, but it won’t get it all off,” she paused as she mixed more baking soda in with the water to make a paste, “deep cleaning your oven like this also helps heat disperse evenly.” she explained.
“Seriously..?” he muttered, thinking about how his last meal was damn-near raw in some spots, and burnt in others.
“So, you take baking soda and water, make a paste with it like this,” she stuck the cup in his face, “you got rubber gloves, right?” she asked.
“Take a fuckin’ guess.” Heisenberg laughed at the question.
“Hand ‘em to me, dickhead.” she said, making a poor attempt to hide a smile.
“By the way, dunno if this has anythin’ to do with you, but i’ve been finding pretty large lycan carcasses that are either brutally killed and then eaten, or seemingly killed in self defense, all of ‘em had gnarly claw marks,” he paused, “know anything about that?” He asked. Her blood ran cold, but she tried to keep her composure.
“Maybe it was a mutated Lycan.” she quietly said, applying the paste to every crevice in the oven. Heisenberg was confused as to why she was acting strange, and more importantly, how she knew the Lycans were caused by...that.
“Well, uh, keep an eye out, yanno?” Heisenberg uncomfortably laughed in the awkward silence.
“Can you plug the sink, and pour some baking soda on ‘em? Then pour the vinegar on ‘em.”
“Okay...what now?” Heisenberg asked.
“Wait for it to stop foaming, and stick em under the water. In the sink, i mean.” she explained, finishing applying the last of the paste.
“Okay...” he muttered.
“Now, we wait for at least ten hours.”
“...Are you serious?” Heisenberg asked, seemingly shocked.
“Why wouldn’t i be?” she replied, confused.
He looked down, “That doesn’t seem reasonable-”
“You don’t seem to be either, Mister Heisenberg.” she smirked at him.
“You know...” he started, “You should be happy I haven’t chucked you down that chute.” he threatened, towering over her small frame with a hand in her hair, mimicking a ponytail, pulling her close to him. He outwardly smelled like cigar smoke, gasoline, and sweat. His breath reeked of whiskey, his hot breath on her cheek. But she smelled more than just that, due to the experimentation with the Cadou.
She could smell what people feel, she always sort of could, but this was heightened by the experimentation.
This was new, it smelled like a heavy, rich devil’s food cake.
It smelled like sin.
She glanced downward at his crotch, and he was definitely pitching a tent.
“You really don’t want this, Karl.” she whispered. It was true, at least in her mind.
No one should want a monster.
She didn’t even know what she wanted, outside of Her dead.
Staring directly into his eyes, she gently placed her hand on the hand he was using to grip her hair. He violently let go, glaring and walking outside.
He hated how similar, yet different they both were. He wanted her to stay with him, despite barely knowing eachother.
It was a bag of mixed emotions.
Dasha followed behind, she found Heisenberg collecting firewood.
“I’m makin’ hotdogs.” he stated.
“On a fire, I’m assuming?” she asked, “i had to learn how to make a fire by myself. Got good at it too.” she bragged.
Heisenberg ignored her comment, “Can you get the ‘dogs and the buns for me outta the fridge?”
“Sure, what rack are they on?” she asked.
“Figure it out.” he coldly replied.
She scoffed, and went back inside, muttering to herself.
Heisenberg thought for a while while she was inside.
Why did she know about the Cadou? Why does she live in the forest? Is it by choice? I wonder if she’s useful...I wonder if Miranda- he thought. He zoned out, and realized his hands were dangerously close to the fire. He nonchalantly pulled them away, added a little more wood, and grabbed a chair. He thought for a moment, and pulled another chair over from the wood pile.
She came back, hot dog buns and hot dogs in tow.
Heisenberg used his powers to make two metal sticks come to him.
“What the fuck.” she whispered, taken aback.
“Oh. Here.” he said, handing one to Dasha.
“No, what the fuck was that-?” Dasha nervously laughed.
“Oh, yeah. I can do that. Only metal though.” Heisenberg explained.
“Huh.” she replied, giving a bun and a hot dog to him. He stuck the tapered metal point through the middle of the hot dog, and stuck it over the fire.
Dasha did the same.
They sat in uncomfortable silence for what felt like a hour, but really was five minutes.
Heisenberg, obviously, was the first to break the silence.
“So I know you’ve never really mentioned it, but I’m thinkin’ you LIVE in the forest, right?” Heisenberg asked.
“Yeah. Why?” she asked, holding the hot dog above the fire.
“Just haven’t really seen anyone willingly live in the forest.” Heisenberg shrugged. There was another period of silence between them as the fire popped and crackled.
“Do you live in the forest willingly?” Heisenberg asked, taking his hot dog off the metal stick, placing it into the bun.
She looked at him, and opened her mouth to speak, but couldn’t find the words to describe her situation. She blinked a couple times, trying to find the words.
“I don’t know.” she furrowed her brow, and had an unmistakable look of i’m-remembering-things-i-don’t-want-to-think-about. Heisenberg wasn’t amazing with emotions, despite being able to read someone like a book.
“Sorry.” he quietly said, looking away from her.
“You had no way of knowing. It’s fine.” She leaned towards him. Then, she took her hot dog away from the fire, and just ate it off the stick. This sight amused Heisenberg.
“How long have you lived in the forest?” Heisenberg asked with his mouth full.
“Around six years? Hard to keep track.” she said, after swallowing a bite.
“Damn. So how old are you now?”
“I don’t know, around twenty-three, i think?” she replied.
“That checks out.” Heisenberg smugly joked.
“At least I don’t look like I’m from World War II.” she retorted, laughing.
“And what if I am, huh?” Heisenberg joked, knowing he was in fact born around when WWII ended.
“I was kidding, shut the fuck up.” she laughed. Heisenberg realized that he really, really liked her laugh. Maybe it’s from the isolation in the factory, and now he finally has someone that seems to enjoy his company. This feeling scared him, just a little bit.
“Yeah, sure.” he laughed. There was silence again.
“This might be coming out of nowhere, but could you...refer to me as a boy? I know this is strange coming from someone who looks like me, but-” he got cut off.
“I get it, it’s alright. No worries. You got a new name?” he asked.
“Dimitri.”
“Still a pretty name.” Heisenberg muttered.
“I heard that.” Dimitri laughed.
“Oh.”
The both of them finished their hot dogs, and they went inside. It was getting cold.
“Starting tomorrow, you’re gonna help me around the factory. Otherwise I won’t hesitate to throw you out.” Heisenberg threatened.
“Alright, you’re gonna have to show me how it works around here though, depending on my job.” he replied, taking his jacket off. He got into his room and rummaged through his bag, looking for a tank top or something. He found a black one that he looted off of a tourist, and swapped into it. Even when it was freezing outside, it was mildly uncomfortable to wear a sweater like he was. He didn’t even think about his immense number of scars being visible, from various creatures and pitiful self-defense attempts. One benefit from the Cadou was that it gave him a healing factor. The only downside, in his eyes, was that killing himself was impossible. He walked out of the room, and into the living room. Heisenberg was making multiple small metal parts like gears and screws float in a certain fashion, making outlines of various things.
He sat on the couch that looked as though it was about to fall apart.
“You’re almost as scarred up as me,” Karl laughed as he pulled up his shirt, revealing a multitude of scar marks, and a happy trail.
Fuck, okay maybe I do know what I want... he thought. He felt a small tingling around his cheeks, as he laughed. He turned around and pulled up the back of his shirt to reveal some of the worst scars he’s gotten. Heisenberg felt himself tense up, his cheeks went red too.
“Can i..?” he asked as he reached his hand out halfway.
“Touch them? Sure.” Dimitri replied, scooting backwards.
He felt his calloused hands gently trace over all of his scars, even the smaller ones. Despite Karl’s rough and mean demeanor, he was so gentle. His hand gently ran down to his waist. He was surprised, but it was calming.
Karl pulled away, fearful of being intimate with him. He had just met the guy, why did he feel this pull?
“I was okay with that, you know.” he said, facing him and letting his shirt fall back to it’s place. He moved a bit closer, wanting the closeness of someone that he never had. “...Please?”
Heisenberg was confused. He was reluctant because of trust issues, yet Dimitri was the polar opposite?
Why did he come here..?
I wanted to use him as an experiment, why-?
“No.” he stated, “I can’t.”
He wordlessly left, Dimitri assuming into his room.
He sighed, and left into 'his' room too.
"Shit." he muttered, thinking about how bad that was. Dimitri went to sleep, trying to forget the entire damn day.

re8 thought dump because YE
i feel like this was almost inevitable but idk where else to talk about resident evil village so i’m just going to rant about it here!!! i have,,,, a lot of thoughts on this game after being so excited for it for so long
obviously, massive spoilers if you haven’t finished the game. i feel like i have thoughts on pretty much everything so please please please stay clear of this post if you’re trying to stay blind
otherwise, let me just rant about this game for a bit - mainly the story and characters - because i have Thoughts™
(also i feel like it goes without saying but this will be probably be quite long, so. strap in, ig)
okay SO. the whole intro was pretty interesting - even though we’d seen bits of it in trailers, it was still pretty unnerving and felt like it came out of nowhere. but the first thing that really stood out was the first village section with the hordes of lycans; i didn’t expect this game to start freaking me out so quickly but JESUS my blood pressure went up fast.
there’s so many of them coming at you at once, and not only have you just lost half your damn hand, you’re not really used to the gunplay at that point AND you don’t have that many weapons at your disposal. so it’s basically just “hey we’re throwing you into this ring of death, good luck surviving!” which... now that i think about it, that really sums up the whole game lol
Tumblr media
but for the most part, the early parts of the game are what we saw in the demos, so there’s nothing too new - it was nice getting to see the scene with all four lords and mother miranda, though. i wasn’t sure how the whole chase scene with the lycans would work - i thought heisenberg’s area was going to be some sort of mine, and that the chase would take place there - but it didn’t, and it was interesting regardless of it being so short.
but the castle. THE CASTLE.
Tumblr media
i would be lying through my teeth if i said i wasn’t excited for dimitrescu like everybody else; i’m firmly in the camp of people who both meme about how attractive she is, and then also the people who legitimately find her attractive, soooo i kinda had high expectations going in?
and sure, the castle section is only part of the game, but if there’s anything that makes me nervous most, it’s stalker enemies. resi 2 remake was actually pretty tough for me to get through because of how anxiety-inducing mr x was, and even though i don’t feel like she was as present as mr x was, lady d was still great! there were a good few times where you could hear her walking around and you just knew she was searching for you, which was really damn cool.
also, i know capcom had a lot of hype to live up to with lady dimitrescu, but goddamn they did such a great job with her. she’s so imposing but badass and just... really damn cool? like i honestly found myself being excited for her to show up rather than being scared. i just think she’s neat! I MEAN LOOK AT HER.
Tumblr media
(also yes i know the whole internet has talked about how attractive she is, but can we just. appreciate that for a second???? she’s gorgeous and yall can’t tell me otherwise. like. bro ik the pronunciation is wrong but the way she says dimitrescu made me GASP i love this powerful vampire woman)
if anything, though, i... actually felt really bad that her story ended up the way it did. i mean, think about it: you break into her house, kill the three people she’s grown to consider her daughters, rob her shit, and then kill her? she technically goes through the same kind of parental grief that ethan does, in a way, which is a really interesting parallel. grief seems to be a theme that capcom really pushed for this game, and it works.
also, her boss fight design is badass. she’s literally a dragon, how is that not incredible
so the castle was great, where could the game go from here? oh, i don’t know, how about gOOD OLD FASIONED FUCKING TRAUMA.
jesus christ the dollhouse GOT TO ME.
Tumblr media
i’m pretty used to horror in general; i love horror games, movies, books, you name it. i’ve gone to horror movies where people have ran out because of fear all while i’ve sat there giggling the whole time. but the dollhouse? that dollhouse is FUCKED. i can’t remember the last time i watched someone play through a horror game and was so... on edge the whole time. the fact that they keep you waiting for so long with nothing happening just... makes the atmosphere incredibly uncomfortable, and then when shit does start going down, it goes down fast. in other words, jesus fucking christ that baby will haunt my nightmares until the end of time
basically capcom managed to make the n*zi baby joke from south park: the stick of truth legitimately terrifying, and i was glad to see donna die. moving on.
moreau’s section is the one i... actually don’t have as many thoughts on. it’s cool, sure, and the whole idea of him turning into a fish when he hits water is neat - it’s definitely a good callback to re4 - but idk, it didn’t really scare me that much. i can see it scaring those with a fear of water or the ocean, for sure, but eh. i thought the designs were cool, but i kinda tuned out a little here.
heisenberg, though, was anything but. the entire time leading up to village’s release, this guy has fascinated me for some reason. i don’t know if it’s because he’s the most normal-looking of the four lords, or the fact that he has telekinesis, or his amazing voice acting (seriously i know some people have shit on his VA but oh my god i adore it) or what, but this guy stood out to me from day one. i even went into the game expecting him not to die tbh. but no, he does, and his fight is pretty damn cool all things considered. only in a resident evil game could you have a mech fight and have it not feel out of place lol
Tumblr media
also this line ^^^ legitimately made me laugh so hard i almost choked on my water. THE FACT HE TURNS AROUND AND APOLOGISES SO MEEKLY its fucking hilarious to me
but anyway.
similar to alcina, though, i was left with one big question about heisenberg - what did mother miranda do to him to get him to join her impromptu familly? he said himself to ethan that he didn’t want to join, so what did miranda do that didn’t give him a choice? did he have a family at some point? is he grieving too? what did miranda take from him? i can only hope this gets answered in the dlc, because it’s by far one of my biggest questions surrounding all of this. i may very well have missed it somewhere, and at least we know he has his telekinesis abilities thanks to miranda, but it’s a question that’ll definitely be on my mind going forward.
at this point, though, the story REALLY gets insane. it’s really nice how village decided to just continue on straight from what 7 did, and i’m very glad that everyone’s theories about chris being a werewolf were wrong - it’s a really nice spanner to throw in the works. if anything, the whole revelation of mother miranda disguising herself as mia the whole time since rose’s birth was really cool, and ethan being Mold™ the entire time was pretty neat too - it made a lot of things both in 7 and village make more sense.
what i’m still digesting, though, is the ending.
Tumblr media
...man, capcom, you put poor ethan through all of that and then you have the balls to actually kill him? i mean shit, you made us think he was dead for a whole 20 minutes but then nope! he’s alive! but then nope! he’s dead again! i did see someone point out that at least ethan got to go out on his own terms, but dammit i would’ve at least liked for him to get to see mia one last time. i think it would’ve softened the blow a little more. but i guess that ties into the whole grief theming this game has going for it, and like i said, i probably just need some more time to digest it.
i don’t dislike the ending, it’s just a very big culture shock - it’s definitely a ballsy move, and i really respect capcom for going all out the way they did. they really held back on nothing in terms of this game’s story and i absolutely love it. it was so, so worth the wait in that regard.
and tbh that’s kinda how i feel about the whole game in general; it was super super good, very much worth the wait, and i absolutely cannot wait to see where resident evil goes from here. i have a gut feeling this’ll end up being one of my absolute favourites in the series, which i know is very high praise, but i really do love it that much. i wasn’t disappointed with much in this game, if anything at all. it’s just a super fucking good video game man idk what else to say at this point

So let's talk Resident Evil 8 DLC…
I know I don’t really dip my toe into the RE tag, like…at all (except to post some sub-par fanart), but I had a brilliant idea last night that would not only make Capcom so much money but it’d really give the fans what they’re looking for in the DLC.
So, like, we all definitely want more Lady D since she was in so little of the game — we want more Lords in general, frankly, but I know a lot of folks are focused on her for…reasons. Many of us (myself included) want to team up with Daddy Heisenberg to take down Miranda. And many of us would probably just want a pacifist run version where you don’t kill anybody, save for the zombies (since…they’re…already dead, so does it really count?) and Miranda (since she’s pretty much irredeemable) because we love our Lords and killing them didn’t feel satisfying because they didn’t do much to warrant it.
But I submit to you, dear Capcom, that I have the perfect DLC idea that I’ve not seen a lot of people bring up yet (there's been, like one, I just saw in the tags, but otherwise, not a lot towards this yet).
Capcom…
Make a Dating Sim.
Let me explain:
Alright, so you’ll recall that, for RE7, Capcom gave us a DLC where you play as Mia, taking down moldy bois to bring Jack food for his 55th birthday party — appropriately titled ‘Jack’s 55th Birthday’. All fine and good. Everybody was wearing party hats and your guns shot confetti and everything was just so delightful. It was a silly FPS that was just meant to be a fun distraction to give you a good belly laugh after the horrors you’ve endured from the main game. At least as far as I can tell. It’s not like there’s heavy lore or anything here, unlike the others in that DLC pack. It's literally just for funsies.
But I think we all know that RE8 requires something…different. Something that’ll be a real people-pleaser and with so much replay-ability that they’ll be satisfied till RE 9.
And a Dating Sim is that something…I'd also recommend making a ‘mature audiences only’ version that would require payment. I know the game's already rated M for mature, but this 'adults only' version isn't for violence if ya know what I mean.
Tumblr media
Think about it. The players of this game find out they can date their favorite Lord? Already you’d have a ton of people lining up to get that DLC — particularly if that part is free. Just getting to date the Lords — or other characters from the game, for that matter. I'm just focusing on the Lords cuz…well, you know why — would be a great foot in the door. People wanna dote on their faves and give them all the affection they can handle (and then some) and just live out their soft fantasies for a hot minute.
But then…The players finding out that they can also fuck their favorite Lord (for a nominal fee) a la Huniepop?
That shit would sell like hotcakes. I’m talking ‘money; hand over fist’. The Lady D and Heisenberg simps alone would be clamoring for that shit, not to mention the Donna fans and Moreau lovers who would love to see those two get some more attention since they were so horribly overlooked in the main game and didn't have near enough focus.
And furthermore! Getting to fuck the Lords as Ethan Winters? All the shippers will have their moment in the sun and bask in their ship gracing their eyes in licensed content. Or hell! Maybe they can fuck Ethan Winters too? I dunno! The Duke? Damn straight! Chris Redfield? Who wouldn’t want a piece of that? Miranda? …Eh…if you hate yourself, I guess…but sure! Any other character from the Resident Evil canon just kinda thrown in there for shits & giggles? That’s your call, my friend! You do you!
But the fact stands; a dating sim is the perfect way to keep people coming back to play again and again. Would it be a lot of effort? Yeah, prolly. I dunno what all goes into making a dating sim, but I imagine it can get complicated with the various dialogue trees and such and that’s a lot for my square brain to wrap around. But hey! It’s a small price to pay for rakin’ in dat dough, am I right?
As for the visuals? I can’t decide what’s funnier? Going ham on the dating sim aesthetic with all the glitter and softness that’d make those characters anime af, or sticking with a horror look — where they look the same as in the main game (though drawn instead of mo-capped, maybe?), but still in a visual novel format (think Doki Doki Literature Club, but they look how they do in the main game, so not super-cutesy/romanticized.) Either way, it’d be hilarious to see these characters in that kinda format, but I think most of us can agree that it’d somehow fit too.
For more silliness? Take a page out of Hatoful Boyfriend’s book and not only let us date the Lords, but let us change their onscreen sprites/avatars(/whatever you’d call them). Don't know what I'm referring to? Well, in Hatoful’s case, the onscreen characters could either be beautiful anime boys…or pigeons.
Photo-realistic pigeons.
I think y'all know where I'm going with this.
Tumblr media
That's right! Give us the option between the Lords as we see them in-game or their puppet versions from the Japanese commercials.
Your move, Capcom. I think we both know this is the correct path. Make it happen so you can sit back and watch the money pour in.
P.S. Since I know Capcom won’t do anything near this fun (and also because…I doubt they'd be able to do some of this, like the more risqué stuff), if someone knows how to make a dating sim, please take this idea and run with it. It'd be a lo of fun and I’ve never needed something so badly in my life.

Resident Evil 8 Overview/Review
Ah yes. The moment everyone has been waiting for. I’ve completed the game and now it’s time to hear my final thoughts. Spoilers under the cut.
To start out with, the opening cinematic was amazing, beautifully animated
I do have some big issues with Mia here, as she does seem to just brush off Ethan’s concerns, and even seemingly gaslight him at times. There’s a lack of communication, and it’s causing them issues. Mia wants to just forget and pretend it didn’t happen, annoyed that Ethan keeps being up the events of 7, while Ethan is scared, worried something might happen again and feel like he can’t just let it go (it’s very likely that both of them have trauma, and the fact that Mia refuses to have them work through it is unhealthy). Plus Ethan makes comments about Mia being scary when she’s angry... it just seems like she might be abusing him, mostly just mentally. Downplaying his concerns and what not.
Aside from that I LOVE Ethan’s character development in this game! He’s so much more alive and seemingly present, I love his comments and stuff, and just not having him be a hallow husk this time!
Some of the cutscenes happened way earlier than I expected them to, and played out differently too. Subverting expectations, good.
There are absolutely 100% multiple assets in the entire game that can and most likely will be reused for RE4 Remake.
This game may not have a bondage kink, but it definitely has a hand torture kink. (Seriously what the fuck. Let Ethan have his hands.)
I really enjoyed fighting the daughters. I thought it was cool and unique (also it was fun to go around and shatter all the windows). I also went to the trouble of knife fighting them for the full experience
Also I can’t believe the daughters are BUG PEOPLE! Oh my god I didn’t expect that, and it just surprises me and like, I’m so happy. They did it. They made the vampires scientific. I’m proud of them.
I’m sorry simps, but Lady Dimitrescu was nothing more than the introductory boss, which is probably why they pushed her so much. After killing her, then you find out the full... situation I guess you could call it.
THEY CRYSTALLIZED MY BABY
I thought house Beneviento was really interesting, however it felt like it was out of some horror game other than resident evil. Like I expected to get attacked by dolls, which was very stressful when it finally did happen, but.... the fetus was... unexpected and disgusting. I mean good, I didn’t see that coming at all but JESUS CHRIST
Speaking of things I didn’t expect in a Resident Evil game, THEY DISMEMBERED AND CRYSTALLIZED MY FUCKING BABY. Like damn I never expected us to go this dark.
I feel like house Beneviento could’ve had a lot more doll action, considering she was the doll maker, but I guess what we got was okay.
It kinda sucks that the Beneviento treasure gets locked off if you don’t go to the tomb right after the boss fight. Like, I don’t think it should’ve locked itself again, especially because not everyone might’ve figured it out. Me and my uncle personally thought we had to go find yellow flowers to put on the grave, we weren’t even thinking about the tombstone. It was basically the only treasure we didn’t get because I didn’t think to look there, nor did I know I was suppose to.
Moreau was just... kinda sad. I felt bad for the dude. He was just trying to do his best and be as good as his other siblings, but he just.. wasn’t. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I felt bad for Lady D and her children too, but Moreau was just a dude trying his best to impress his “mother”
Once again, they subverted my expectations, because Moreau was not a rehash of the RE4 Del Lago fight, very different actually! I’m happy about that.
PS, we see Chris again around here, once again surprising me, but it kinda gives you a “did Chris just... die?” Moment.
I can see why Heisenberg was the second most advertised Lord, because he has the next biggest section, but he’s also the last sibling. He’s also split into 2 parts, the factory and the stronghold. (Kinda sucks because it shows Moreau and Donna got the short end of the stick.)
The stronghold wasn’t that bad, though me and my uncle do wonder if we learned more about the 4 founders and just forgot or what. Like we got the cup from Luiza and that plate, was there more? Maybe.
The factory... Jesus Christ, if the fetus didn’t give me anxiety, this place sure as hell does. Between the fucking FAN MAN and The drill dudes.. Jesus Christ.
Also I can’t stop thinking of Elijah Kamski when dealing with Heisenberg because they have the same voice actor and would probably get along.
This area is... long. Like hella long. (Talking about the factory)
The Heisenberg fight was cool, I loved Ethan just taking hold of whatever that creation was and going ham.
Chris’s part was pretty short, however I feel it was nice, could’ve been longer.
So Miranda and Spencer were a thing and she inspired him and he stole the cave design from the walls..? Weird but okay, I guess I’ll accept it (kinda undermines their genius though.)
So I was right, Moreau and Donna were cognitively delayed, as expected.
Mia is alive, nice to know but
What in the silent hill “you’ve been dead all along” bullshit is this. I’m gonna need to know exactly when Miranda replaced Mia and exactly when Ethan died.
I need a fix it fic to fix the sadness I feel about Ethan dying. He saved his daughter but he doesn’t even get to watch her grow up?! Fuck! My family issues can’t handle this shit. I want Ethan to get to escape with his daughter and watch her grow up.
Fuck this, they didn’t have to kill Ethan. How could they. God damn it (I know he probably would’ve died anyway cause of the mold but FUCK!
LET US SEE HIS FACE, HE’S DEAD NOW YOU ASSHOLES.
Rose is pretty and id love to see her again. But does she age fast because of mold powers
Just... fuck man. I liked the game, I really did but the ending hurt my fucking soul.
Tumblr media
Also, so the BSAA are bad guys now? Shit, I sure hope Jill’s okay.
I can’t believe they killed Ethan, he was the only protagonist they had the BALLS to kill. They could’ve just let the dad go home with his baby. Fuck you guys. Fuck you.

Another useless Grey's anatomy episode review but this time it's about 16×10
The episode on a whole was cool, and I did peep at Station 19 before, because I hate being lost, but then I skipped over most of it, because some how or the other, Station 19 doesn't appeal to me. Grey's had this Magical feel to it especially in the first few seasons that kept me coming back and with Station 19 it just isn't there. Besides the scenes with Ben and Bailey. Which sucks because most of their scenes are now on Station 19 😤😤😤.
_________________________________________
Jo and A̶L̶E̶X̶
I was really concerned about Jo leaving the show as well. But it seems like Alex is just going to stay in Iowa for now, until they probably decide to kill him off (they can only use the sick mom excuse for so long.) But for now I'm going to enjoy happy Jo.
I was so concerned when she stole the baby because the last time someone stole a baby, it was hell (Mer). Jo was so adorable with the baby all night long, but as cute as she was, it seems like I was one of the only people who didn't want her to adopt the baby. With Alex not there and not coming back she was just going to end up raising him by herself especially if they do end up killing off Alex that would just be torture for my poor girl, so I was glad when someone came for the fire station baby.
Jo also gave us some insite to Irish doctor's background (Mcwidow, Mcwinow???), He has 2 teenage boys. I already like him. I don't know how I feel about him for Meredith yet. But as just a character I like him. However I resent him just a little for being Karev's replacement, but that isn't his fault🤷🏾‍♀️.
He seems to be hated by all of the fans so far but didn't we all hate Mcsteamy and Addison when they first came?
_________________________________________
The Residents
Just going to lump them into one group because I really don't know them too well, which means I shouldn't try to go into too much detail without knowing about them.
Nico and Schmidt continue to be adorable as always. For a little while I thought they were going to kill one of them but it was all fine. And did glasses really faint in another OR? 🤦🏾‍♀️ I'm afraid of going solo. I love the little scene with Schmidt and Mer where he's apologizing and she tells him, she forgives him. That was sweet (and don't worry Schmidt, shes forgiven people for a lot worse.)
Helm, had a rough night, chest cracked and everything (rejected by her crush). I kinda saw her confession to Meredith coming and I'm kinda glad that they got that out of the way, because now she can move on to people that will be able to love her back, let's face it Meredith was not going to be that person. She is undoubtedly into men, hence the comment in the earlier seasons 'we screw boys like whores on tequila.' In the end Helm pulled through, thanks mainly to Dr Webber and her and Schmidt made up, thank God because that boy couldn't take her rejection at that point, he already had the broken heart syndrome.
Parker I definitely don't know well, I honestly thought he had been one that was fired among the many, but I guess I was wrong. I only know that he's transgender I think, and he can hack like a CIA agent. He has PTSD same as Owen and apparently Teddy. But Teddy and Amelia were able to treat him. That's all that happened really on last nights episode with him. I feel like he was just there to make Amelia and Teddy spend time together honestly.
_________________________________________
Amelia and Link
In the name of the lord, dont give Owen another child or make him start yet another love triangle he's had enough and ruined enough.
Amelia should have gone with her idea and dragged Link to dinner because if they had left 5 minutes earlier they could have skipped the proposal that made her lose her nerves.
Next week's trailer shows her telling him and I hope there isn't too big of a time jump because the longer she waits to tell him the angrier hes going to to be especially with something like this. I understand not telling Owen after the moments and talks her and Teddy shared but she needs to tell Link, I don't want them to break up 😭😭😭😭.
And how cute is Link and his excitement to be a dad? I hope they don't crush him by making Owen the father or worse break him and Amelia up because they want to create yet another Owen and Teddy love triangle.
I'm living for that Link and Jo content he's like her older brother and I loved the moment with him, Jo and the fire station baby. He's going to be a great dad. I hope he can have a family with Amelia.
_________________________________________
Teddy and Owen
Now let's give Teddy a round of applause for all of the s**t shes been through with Owen and still comes back. He brought her to the hospital as a gift for his girlfriend, and she clearly thought he brought her there because he liked her. Then he got jealous when she tried to move on. Played around with her by pretending to be unsure between her and Cristina, tried to get her fired. Then she left and he married Cristina and that failed, then he married Amelia. When Amelia didn't work out he went to Teddy only because Amelia told him to, so she finally stood up for herself only to find be suckerpunched and find out she's pregnant move all the way back to Seattle, finally gets to be with him he proposes and now is going to be thrown into another hot mess 😪.
Owen's proposal as much as it wasn't out of 'obligation' it was out of something else. He married her because he was afraid Koracick was going to snatch her away after he learnt Koracick wasn't the douche he thought he was and instead of talking to Teddy about it he dropped on one knee 🤦🏾‍♀️, oh boy. And to top it all off after Amelia drops her bomb Teddy might very well end up with the very man he married her for. I just want Teddy to finally be happy.
I can smell an Owen love triangle coming, I just can't tell if it's with Koracick or Amelia.
This is why I needed Henry to live. Then there wouldn't be this mess. 😭😭😭😭
_________________________________________
Ben and Bailey
😭😭😭😭😭 They killed me the whole night, from Ben trying to help out in the hospital to keep an eye on her, to him asking Richard to take over the task in the OR. (If you can't love me like Ben Warren. Don't talk to me.)
Richard: "Are you ok?"
Ben: "No, but Miranda comes first."
Me: 💘💘💘💘💔💔💔💀☠
They're both hurting so much and just working through the pain.
Ben blaming himself is so sad and although Bailey was the one carrying the baby, I feel like Ben ins't getting a chance to release his pain as well. He was so excited and then he just lost it all, and his wife won't talk to him about it, then he thinks its his fault. Bailey may have assured him it wasn't but that's not enough to take away those doubts. Someone please just give him a hug.
Bailey needs a therapist because she needs to talk to someone and understandably so She's been there from the beginning. Floods, shootings, bus crashes etc. Everyone around her is dying and it's scary. She needs to talk.
I can't even express how happy I was to see Bailey and Webber together again. I was afraid that they would have never reconciled after the whole Minnick and then her firing him thing. I loved every moment of them together onscreen together and through it all he was there for her even now when they're working at different hospitals. It was perfect, her breaking down in his arms (although she needs one of those with Ben as well.) The scene in the end when Meredith brought donuts and tissues and the three Ogs sat on the couch I almost cried because they're the only ones left and it was almost surreal seeing them there.
BUT as satisfying as it was to see that, I know Richard heard that Maggie quit. Gossip travels too fast at Grey Sloan, you mean he never even checked on her. No phone call, text, visit nothing? He better show up there next episode. It's his family causing the mess. Hopefully he can help solve it when he hears she's being sued. The last thing we need is Maggie being depressed for a long time 😖 (don't get me wrong, I don't mind her character but hurt Maggie eventually becomes annoying Maggie.)
________________________________________
Meredith
Meredith had no main storyline this episode, besides handing out forgiveness and attempting to start a conversation with the Dr Irish, who basically ignored the attempt and walked off 🤔. Are we sure Cristina meant to send him? I'm very curious to hear how he knows Cristina and why she sent him for Meredith.
_________________________________________
Deluca
Is having regrets, probably because he knows another stupid Mer love triangle is coming.
I'm not sure I even ship him and Meredith. But I'm gonna need them to pick a guy for her or leave her alone. Having her bounce from relationship to relationship isn't as cute as it used to be.
Plus I may be wrong, but there has to be a point why he was there when Maggie was served. Are they going to start spending time together🤔?
_________________________________________
Richard
No plot, just there for Bailey. His is coming soon though. I'm glad it didn't start tonight, we had enough drama last night without Catherine's eccentric ones, looking forward for it to come though.
_________________________________________
Maggie
Not seen until the end when she got served with papers from her own blood. Geeze that guy was an ass. He hated her from the beginning. That was one time I wished Richard hadn't backed her up because, her cousin and her dad didn't want Maggie to do the surgery, but eventually let her because she was the best and Richard backed her up.
Why is he acting like that anyway? Wasn't the whole point of Maggie doing the surgery, was because it was risky and already had a low success rate??? I understand it hurts but suing Maggie isn't going to solve it. It was already a tricky surgery.
But I guess it gives Maggie a story line so🤷🏾‍♀️.
_________________________________________
Jackson
...................... Is there, I guess, throwing shade, dating a fire fighter and carrying on the work and teachings of Mark Sloan.
Him telling Karacick that he should bring a camera crew to film his surgery and burning Owen by telling him he marries everyone was golden.
_________________________________________
But after everything I have 2 questions.
Who were the random people that were suddenly working in the hospital?
(the woman in surgery with Owen and Jackson, who didn't know Teddy and Owen were dating looks familiar. But Idk.)
Next Question what hell was the point of Pac North?
(Now that Alex is gone is that going to disappear to Iowa as well?)Color me confused.

A RANT ABOUT RENT LIVE AND HOW GOOD IT WAS
Okay so I need to stand on a soap box real quick to make a point. Please read the whole thing. I feel like Rent Live not only needs to be reviewed but is the perfect example for what I am about to say. If you have a problem with this, thank u next.
Let me ask you a question. How many people do you know named or are probably named Sarah? How about Taylor? Maybe Alex? Okay, now that you have a number in your head think about this: are they all exactly the same? Same hair color? Eye color? Body type? Do they all play soccer? Do they all love the same kind of music? Are they all the same race? Same sexual orientation? Is your answer no? It should be. They are all different yet special in their way.
Now let's look at Rent. We have Rent, the Broadway musical (which is actually a reincarnation La Boheme, an opera with a lot of other versions as well!!! It all comes full circle) ; Rent, the movie; and Rent Live. All share a name but none of them are the same. They are all special in their own way.
Rent, the Broadway musical, is one of if not the most revolutionary musical to hit the Great White Way. Without it, Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen and The Prom and The Band's Visit and Fun Home probably wouldn't exist. It inspired artists to cross the borderlines and expressed the true meaning if love and being a part of a community, a family. It inspired composers like Lin Manuel-Miranda do even make musicals. It swept the Tonys, it won the Pulitzer prize, it ran for a very long time. It was so important that they filmed a pro shot of the final performance. However, that proshot was not a one take deal. They pre filmed some stuff to get those epic close ups, like the beginning of Out Tonight. Again, it was crucial to the world of theatre.
Next we have Rent, the movie. It was filmed as an independent film, kinda like how The Last Five Years was. They got most of the original cast to reprise their roles. Tracie Thoms and Rosario Dawson swept in to save the day. They are honestly the best Joanne and Mimi that I've seen. Tracie has played Joanne literally everywhere: in the movie, on Broadway, and at the Hollywood Bowl. And it was also a good thing for Rosario to put on her resume. The actual movie itself cut and rearranged the order of songs from the musical and doesn't focus much on being in the 90s but the present day. There's nothing wrong with that, but the creative team wanted this Rent to be it's individual being. People that see the movie might have only seem the movie and not the Broadway musical. When they see it's mostly the same cast, they got excited and were looking forward to seeing the other Rent. It's not the same Rent, but it's called Rent and is similar to that other Rent, but it's not that Rent. It's like Rent the II.
And as of yesterday we have Rent III, Rent Live. Now I get it. Technically this wasn't live as in broadcast live and everything you saw was happening in real time and that sucks but also thank God they filmed that final dress or it probably wouldn't have happened at all or at least not in the way they planned. The whole concert version they released clips of would have been what we saw for those 3 hours instead of the full out production that we deserved to see. People would have stopped watching right away if they only got to see poor Brennin in a wheelchair and the cast just sitting there in the same spot watching with the live audience they have in front of them. But ya know what? It was still live. They did'nt lip sync or animate themselves to be CGI dancers. They sang live, they moved live, they had a live audience. That's why it's called LIVE THEATRE. It is happening in front of a group of people. This was also the first live musical that had an issue that prevented them from putting on the production as is. Grease Live had some weather and audio issues but guess what? They added pre filmed video and audio to fix that!!!! Tbh, I would not be surprised if they stop broadcasting it live and make it live meaning LIVE theatre in front of a LIVE audience that you prerecorded and show the world on whatever night.
The cast was unlike the other two in the sense that it was part Broadway performers, part music artists, part actors and dancers that can sing, and one phenomenal drag queen. If you want my opinion, Valentina is tied with Wilson Jermaine-Heredia as the best Angel. For someone who has never done anything like this, she did a hell of a job and was literally perfect in the role. Vanessa Hudgens, again in my opinion is probably the best Maureen. Her Over the Moon soars over any other one I have seen from the costume to her comedic timing to her commitment to the whole damn thing. She killed it. We also got see Jordan Fisher live his lifelong dream of being the first POC Mark and he did the role justice. The way they wrote Mark's monologues and made him feel as isolated from his group as friends as we've seen him was BRILLIANT. Especially at the top of Act 2 where they incorporated Seasons of Love into the plot, something that was not done in the other Rents which was literally genius. It was where I shed my first tear. Then we have Brandon Victor Dixon who did the best I'll Cover You Reprise EVER. I thought Michael McElroy was the best before last night. I was a wreck when Brandon did it. He is definitely one of the knots that binds these things together. And then we have Tinashe, Mario, and Kiersey Clemons. These three did their roles justice as well. I think Tinashe was up to par with Rosario's Mimi but her Mimi was definitely the most believable because she played it so young, she is supposed to be 19 but also a little coy and super sexy, which she did. Mario's vocals popped off and he definitely showed how much of a jerk Benny is. And Kiersey had a rocky start in my opinion but still played a great Joanne that had the perfect amount of spunk, sass, poise, and intelligence. Oh and don't get me started on Keala Settle. That woman took me to theatre church to bless the lord of blessing us with her talent. They rewrote Paul to be a woman named Cy which to me felt so raw.
And now the censorship thing. Idk what everyone else saw but I saw the same risque and edgy components of Rent that the Rent I and Rent II. The lyric changes were obvious ONLY TO THOSE THAT KNOW OF THE OTHER RENTS IN THE FIRST PLACE. And the changes they did make were seamless. On these main broadcasting networks, you cannot say shit, fuck, dildos, expose bare asses, be overtly sexual, etc. etc. unless that creative team anticipates a lofty fee and a potential lawsuit. They were only able to cross a certain amount of lines before it got out of control. The final line was clearly mucho masturbation. They had things taken away from them and saw it as the perfect opportunity to really make this Rent the 2019 Rent that is different from the other 2 but doesn't try to be the most superior of the three we know of.
Do you see what I mean though? All of these things are called Rent but none of them are the same or trying to replace the other creations. Sarah A isn't trying be better than Sarah B who isn't trying to beat Sara, the one without an H at the end of her name and the same applies to any new adaptation of a book or movie or musical. Every time this happens, that same story is trying to be expressed to an audience that needs to hear it. This messed up world we live in now needs to see a place where people are loved and accepted and are a part of a tight knit community. Rent does exactly that.
So the next time you see that ______ Live is happening or _______ the Musical is happening or a certain musical is getting a film adaptation, don't compare the two as one entity. Call it _____ II or the Sara without an H at the end.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

@bliss-delight-jr Here are the song recs you requested! The list ended up being kinda comically long; way too long to put in a reply, so here it is (you asked for bops and jams and I added a bunch of bangers too bc I have a ton of bangers in my playlists and not many jams)
-“Topsy Turvy” from Hunchback of Notre Dame – movie and musical versions are both amazing, but the movie version is more of a consistent bop; the musical version is just a few clicks slower and is split in half by two numbers, which are both amazing, but don’t have the feel of a bop) -“Roundtable Rival” by Lindsey Stirling – a freaking JAM and also a BANGER -“Thrift Shop” by Vitamin String Quartet – a JAM -“La Llorona” from Coco – not a bop, a jam, or a banger, but like, it’s so GOOD -“The Court of Miracles” from Hunchback – again, the movie and musical versions are both great, and I’ve actually been using the musical version to get me up and moving in the morning, but the movie version is WAY more of a bop in terms of tempo and general feel; in the musical, Clopin sort of relishes having caught Quasi and Phoebus and the song is a slower kind of menacing, but in the movie, Clopin revels in being about to kill the Boys and the song is fast and bouncy and lively and a bop -“I’m the One That’s Cool” by The Guild feat. Felicia Day – a banger if I’ve ever heard one -“96,000” from In the Heights – a bop -“Carnaval del Barrio” from In the Heights – a jam that becomes a bop that becomes a banger -“The Rocky Road to Dublin” by The High Kings – a BOP -“Facade” from Jekyll and Hyde – closest to bop? I judge the difference between bops, jams, and bangers by the kind of movements that I naturally make when I hear the songs, and I make “banger” movements when I listen to “Facade,” but there’s something in my brain that’s telling me it’s too lively to be a banger, so I don’t know. It’s good, regardless. -“Murder, Murder” from Jekyll and Hyde – now this is a banger, for sure. A musical theater banger. -“Joy of the Lord” from Hands on a Hardbody – first, that’s a hardbody TRUCK. Don’t get any ideas. And “Joy of the Lord” is kinda repetitive, but it’s such a bop; I love it -“Born in Laredo” from Hands on a Hardbody – somewhere between a jam and a banger; this is an angry ballad, and I’m LIVING for it -“Can’t Sleep Love” by Pentatonix – somewhere between a jam and a bop -“Tavern Song (Thai Mol Piyas)” from Hunchback of Notre Dame – now this one is only in the musical, but the chorus is such a bop! The verses are closer to a jam and the whole song is so good. Fun fact: it’s the only song in the whole show that includes a language that is not English, Latin, or French! -“Esmeralda” from Hunchback of Notre Dame – I’m so sorry that there’s so much Hunchback on here, but it’s Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz’s fault for writing such Damn Good Music, and I’m a little obsessed rn since I’m in the thing. But “Esmeralda” is the Act I finale and it’s a musical theater BANGER. I get CHILLS every time. -“Un Poco Loco” from Coco – a bop, pure and simple. It’s so cute. -“Istanbul” by They Might Be Giants – also a bop. Very catchy. Fun fact: the first time I heard this song it was a Barbershop cover on YouTube, and for a solid five years I didn’t understand that it was a cover and not an original, bc I’d never heard the original and I’d never heard of They Might Be Giants, so I figured it was the name of the quartet the guy singing it was in (it was one of those quartet-with-yourself things YouTube vocalists love but I digress). I also didn’t get the concept of YouTube cover artists arranging their own covers if they wanted to genre-bend, so I was v disappointed when I couldn’t find the sheet music for my own Barbershop quartet to sing at contest -“I See Fire” by Peter Hollens – a jam -“Help!” by The Beatles – a bop -“All for the Best” from Godspell – a very fun bop that plays on multiple meanings of the phrase “all for the best” and there are some pretty dang cute videos of high school productions of this one -“Alas for You” from Godspell – a BANGER. A righteous-anger BANGER. If I recall the plot of the show correctly, this is Jesus losing it in the temple that folks turned into a marketplace. -“Flip Flop and Fly” by Ellis Hall – the first place I heard this was in Chicken Run as a kid, and I don’t know if it was written specifically for the movie or not. All I know is that it’s a futzing BOP. -“Flintstones” by Jacob Collier – a BOP. -“What the Heck I Gotta Do” from 21 Chump Street – 21 Chump Street is a 15-minute mini-musical written & composed by Lin-Manuel Miranda, based on a true story, and “What the Heck I Gotta Do” is such a cute bop. -“Run, Freedom, Run!” from Urinetown – Yes that’s what the musical is called. It’s an Experience. “Run, Freedom, Run!” is a BOP, though. -“Cop Song” from Urinetown – A bop that becomes a banger -“Jet Set” from Catch Me If You Can – a BOP. Honestly this whole musical is so good. It’s a bit like Cheez-Its in that you kind of forget about it when you’ve got more interesting options available, but then you choose it and you’re like, “I forgot how good this was!” That’s Catch Me. And yes, it’s based on the Leo DiCaprio movie. -“Somebody’s Eyes” from Footloose: the Musical – I don’t really have strong feelings about this musical, but “Somebody’s Eyes” is fun. It’s a jam. -“Jolly Holiday” from Mary Poppins: the Musical – A bop. Mary Poppins the movie was my CHILDHOOD and I got really excited when I heard that it was a musical too, and I love the musical. They add huge chunks to the songs that aren’t in the movie, but they sound good and stand pretty well on their own. “Supercal” and “Step in Time” get honorable mentions, because I adore them both, but the musical versions don’t really fit into the bop/jam/banger categories. I 100% recommend watching a video of “Step in Time” though; the choreography is KILLER. -“We Go Together” by David Tennant and Catherine Tate – this is a bonus track on the soundtrack for the Much Ado About Nothing where David and Catherine were Benedick and Beatrice, and this song is such a cute bop that encapsulates the Beatrice/Benedick dynamic really well. It’s great and I kinda wanna see if I can convince a future boyfriend to sing it with me. -“Moon Goddess” by Jocelyn Hagen – this is a choir piece, and you wouldn’t expect a choir piece to be a banger, but “Moon Goddess” is a BANGER. Trust me. -“Godzilla Eats Las Vegas” by Eric Whitacre – it’s a concert band piece and I guess it could maybe be a banger but I really just want you to listen to it because it’s exactly what it sounds like and it’s HILARIOUS. -“Incantation and Dance” by John Barnes Chance – another concert band piece, and kinda long, but it’s a jam that becomes a banger, and it’s spoopy too; perfect for Halloween Season -“The Typewriter” by Leroy Anderson – a concert band piece where the primary soloist plays an Actual Literal Typewriter and it’s great. A bop. -“Livin’ It Up on Top” from Hadestown – a BOP. The musical is one of those concept-album musicals and it’s a Great-Depression-era retelling of the Orpheus and Euridice story and it’s GREAT. -“Way Down Hadestown” from Hadestown – also a bop -“Our Lady of the Underground” from Hadestown – Persephone gets to start Act II with a kickass solo and it’s a JAM. I adore it and I really wanna sing it for a hypothetical voice recital -“You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid” by The Offspring – a BANGER -“When You’re Evil” by Aurelio Voltaire – a JAM. A SPOOPY jam. -“The Devil Went Down to Georgia” by The Charlie Daniels Band – a bop and a banger all at once. I adore it. -“Down in New Orleans” from The Princess and the Frog – both the reprise and the original are such good bops, but I especially love the reprise because Anika Noni Rose’s voice is ANGELIC. -“Through Heaven’s Eyes” from The Prince of Egypt – I adore this whole soundtrack with my whole soul, but “Through Heaven’s Eyes” is the only song that really fits into a bop/jam/banger category, and that only barely. It’s a bop if you squint, but regardless it’s really good and I love it. -“The Mad Hatter” from Wonderland – a musical theater banger. The new Mad Hatter is a woman, and she’s a mezzo-soprano, so you know what that means: a jazzy introduction song where she gets to belt her heart out and it’s great. -“I Will Prevail” from Wonderland – the Mad Hatter’s other solo, also a banger, goes even harder than the first one, because It’s Act Two, Bitches, Shit’s Gettin’ Real -“I’ll Think of You” by Kurt Hugo Schneider – a cute little a capella bop. I definitely recommend watching the video on this one because the patty-cake thing the singers do while singing is really impressive and really cute. -“Oh, the Thinks You Can Think” from Seussical the Musical – listen this musical is so cute, and I’d love to play Gertrude McFuzz, because she’s so cute, but I’d ESPECIALLY love to play the Cat in the Hat, because he falls into the category of Chaotic Good/Chaotic Neutral, Spritely Character Where Gender Doesn’t Matter in Casting (others in this category include Puck from Midsummer, Ariel from The Tempest, and Clopin from Hunchback—all characters I want to play). And this song is the opening number and it’s a really fun bop. -“Tango: Maureen” from RENT – a jam. Makes me want to learn how to tango. -“La Vie Boheme” from RENT – a BANGER. -“The Road Goes On” from The Lord of the Rings: the Musical – YES, this is a real musical. YES, I’m as excited as you are. This song is a bop, through and through. -“Both Sides of the Coin” from The Mystery of Edwin Drood – a BOP. The whole musical is wonderful and I love it and you should listen to it (have the Wikipedia summary pulled up while you do; since it’s based on a book that never technically ends, since Dickens died before he could finish it, the musical is a solve-it-yourself with multiple endings, where the audience picks the ending every night) -“Be Good or Be Gone” from Pump Boys and Dinettes – somewhere between a bop and a banger -“Papaoutai” by Pentatonix feat. Lindsey Stirling – a bop -“Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive” by Bing Crosby feat. The Andrews Sisters – a cute little bop -“Hobbit Drinking Medley” by Peter Hollens feat. Hank Green – such a bop. So cute. I really like the video -“Independence!” from The Trail to Oregon – this is a StarKid one, and it’s so fun. A bop. -“Rogues Are We” from Holy Musical B@man! – more StarKid. Closer to a banger. Especially fun to sing along when you’re alone in the car and you can belt out all the notes in all the character voices with no one to give you a funny look for it *I was trying not to do this, but just anything by Celtic Woman. It’s all so good! -“Finnegan’s Wake” by The High Kings – such a BOP, good LORD. -“Way Ahead of My Time” from Taxi Cabaret – it’s a bop, and it’s sung by a gay caveman. That is all you need to know. (There are a bunch of really good professional versions but I found a high schooler called Wyatt Walberg on YouTube doing it for his school and his version is really good) -“Any Kind of Dead Person” from Ghost Quartet – a BOP. And another spoopy bop, no less. -“Alive” by Skipinnish – I don’t remember where I first heard this, and my brain is telling me there’s a distinct probability that either you or Sock recommended it to me (OH I think it’s in a playlist one of y’all made for CotIG), so if you already know about it, then this is a reminder to listen to it again, because isn’t it so good?! A bop. -“Danger On the Dance Floor” by The Cog is Dead – A BANGER. A TANGO. A GREAT STORY. WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT. -“Nicknackatory” by Mr. B, the Gentleman Rapper – so apparently gentleman rap (I think it’s called chap-hop, which makes me really happy) is an actual genre, and I love it with all my heart. This is hilarious. A bop.
So...yeah
