It's weird to think Vol 10 of RWBY just straight up might never happen. much less further volumes. No matter how bad it got I would still have loved some form of ending but Barabas comments don't paint a hopeful picture. Alas fics of RWBY will go until the end of time.
It's very weird. Most shows I come across have either already concluded, or give their audience an estimate of when things will wrap up ('We're planning another two seasons and each takes us about two years to film, so...'). I have shows that unexpectedly get more content after providing an ambiguous, but still satisfying ending (Alice in Borderland), shows where each season is self-contained so it can end whenever without issue (Bake Off), shows that were cut short and had to scramble to wrap up (Sense8), and of course there are always shows that are straight up cancelled and can't do a thing to mitigate that... but RWBY feels almost, almost unique in this combination. It's a webseries rather than a traditional TV show. It's gone on for a decade with absolutely no indication of where it's heading. Each season feels threatened to the point where the fandom can no longer differentiate between a real cancellation concern and Internet exaggeration. The story has hit what's arguably its most important narrative peak - the team has traversed an alternate world, Ruby has "overcome" drinking the tea, Summer finally appears on screen - only for news of the story's future to remain frustratingly vague. Not only have we never had a sense of when RWBY's story will end, now we don't even have confirmation of whether it will end. That's such a frustrating way to approach storytelling given that your audience relies on some level of commitment to remain engaged.
I too want RWBY to finish up because I am not immune to the Sunk Cost Fallacy: I put this much time into the series and it needs to satisfy me with a conclusion, even if the conclusion itself will inevitably be unsatisfying. Outside of any normal disappointment with a story you love getting the ax, I generally don't mind embracing unfinished works. I read abandoned fics, watch cancelled shows, browse barely started comics, because getting a taste of the world is always worth it if it's compelling to me. I never regret meeting characters whose stories go untold because as a writer myself I can at least imagine that on my own terms. But RWBY? Losing it now would be a real kick in the teeth. I personally don't think the story is salvageable at this point, but at the very least fans deserve a conclusion: one that will likely please a lot of devoted viewers and allow critical fans to put a satisfying tick mark on the box in our heads labeled "RWBY."
Given its popularity I wouldn't be surprised if RWBY wound up cancelled and then concluded in a comics run, or a one-off movie. Beyond the fact that this would no doubt mess up the writing even more (now you have to iron out this mess of a plot on a time limit, in a new medium, with new authors!) it would, unfortunately, be kind of hilarious too:
[generic tour guide voice] "Hello. Welcome to RWBY. Our fandom is known for having copious side stories connected to the canon in confusing ways. Some are incidental to the main series. Some outright contradict it. Some are crucial to your understanding of the primary plot and must be engaged with in a timely manner. These texts range from comic runs to random bits of information in abandoned mobile games. Please note that this corpus did not grow naturally across decades of storytelling, as is the case with fandoms like Star Trek and Star Wars, but was rather cobbled together by RT in an attempt to 'fix' numerous, ongoing issues with the webseries. Our latest addition? The ending. Yes, if you would like to finish RWBY please refer to this index of sources that together provide a semi-cohesive conclusion to a ten year show. Now, on your left you'll see the ongoing brawl as fans attempt to determine whether this index is canonical or not. Please watch your step..."

One-shot: Gortash x fem!Tav
This is a gift for @nusaran for the Elfsong Tavern’s Valentine’s Day gift exchange. Thanks for the fun prompts!!
Content Warning: NSFW (minors do not interact), little bit of smut (afab Tav), house fire
Summary:
It's a day of celebration at the Elfsong Tavern, which is bursting at the seams with decorations, ale, and patrons. Everyone is eager to partake in the festivities and express their love for one another.
Well, almost everyone.
Your mind is elsewhere tonight. You have yet to find your soulmate, though one person in particular has been consuming your thoughts. And he isn't the type to attend a party at the Elfsong Tavern. Perhaps it wasn't meant to be, anyway.
Set in game during Act 3 (spoilers!). You can read it below or on ao3.
Gale is in particularly high spirits this morning.
He hums softly and smiles to himself, like someone just shared the most delightful secret with him.
His hands work in their practiced way, pulling the most beautiful decorations from the weave. Soft pink pastels dance among deep burgundies while pearl white accents twist them together, joined by garlands of flowers. It reminds you of home. Of celebrations with your friends, your family. Of a lighter time, seemingly lifetimes ago.
His outlook on life has taken a turn for the positive these days, though you suppose having a new lease on life could do that for a man. Only just a few days ago, you convinced him not to sacrifice himself to the netherbrain - instead, you believed that he was worth sacrificing for. Even if that meant more danger in the future, or an unknown path. We would all do it, together.
You grip a bit tighter to the warm mug in your hands as you walk over to Gale.
“What are we celebrating?” You ask, coyly.
“Oh,” Gale breathes out with a deep, content sigh. He drops his attention from the weave and focuses his eyes on yours.
“You must know what day it is! What we are celebrating! We partook in the festival each and every year back home in Waterdeep. I assumed it was well-known in Baldur’s Gate as well, but given your reaction - and Astarion’s as well - perhaps you’ve been suffering without such a holiday your entire lives! Please, allow me to explain it to you. It is a celebration of love - the divine and sacred bonds between family, treasured friends, and lovers.”
His hand reaches out for your arm, gently squeezing near your shoulder before letting his hand drop back to his side.
“I just wanted to thank you, again. I know that I truly cannot thank you enough for what you’ve done for me. For every single thing you do for me. You’ve made me start to believe in myself again - to believe that I am worth lifelong friendship… and perhaps even love.”
Your eyes dart away from his to look towards the ground. He is being so vulnerable and forthcoming with you, like always. But you can’t help having this wall up between you, holding you back from letting him in. You bring your mug up to your lips to distract from the growing silence.
“…perhaps even love, with someone, one day,” Gale relents. “I know we are only fated to be friends, and I respect that. Our friendship means the world to me, I hope you realize that.”
Gale’s words are warm and sincere. You return his kind words with a soft smile, looking back up at him.
“I really appreciate your friendship too, Gale.” You settle down on a seat nearby to watch as he brings the weave back to vibrant life.
You know, deep in your heart, that Gale will find his perfect match. At least they will be relatively easy to recognize, given the unique scar decorating his chest.
While many people form relationships - largely temporary - with others without matching scars, that idea never appealed to you. Oh, perhaps a stolen night here and there, but never anything real. You couldn’t see opening yourself up to someone, to let them in so deep, just to have them leave you for their real soulmate.
Your eyes scan the room at the Elfsong Tavern until you find Astarion. He is sitting on the ground, cross-legged and hunched over something he was working on in his lap. His scowl is present in every feature of his face - his lips drawn into a tight frown, his forehead knit together in frustration, his eyes narrowed. You assume he is bitter about the festival, and it goes beyond the fact that romance makes him feel uncomfortable and self-conscious.
This festival would only serve as another reminder of the many impacts of his vampiric affliction. Though otherwise a good thing, his skin can heal on its own - therefore, he has no scars. He will never be sure of his soulmate like the rest of us. And so he certainly can’t be sure that Wyll is his soulmate.
Time and time again, Wyll has offered reassurance to Astarion. Wyll will claim that the matching scars don’t matter to him, that he knows what is in his heart, that his love will never stray to another. But you can see the fear behind Astarion’s eyes. And you understand it.
Even now, you see Wyll crouch down next to Astarion and start to rub his shoulders, leaning to whisper something in his ear. Astarion flinches from his touch, reflexively. You look away to give them at least a modicum of privacy within this shared living space.
Swirling the liquid in your mug, your mind is pulled back into the events from the other day, when you entered Wyrm’s Rock. After your confrontation with the guard and the Steel Watchers at the bridge, you were surprised to receive an invitation to Gortash’s coronation. Though, from everything you heard of the man, he did seem a bit full of himself. Of course he would demand your attendance to that charade of an event, in his honor. Especially after you so easily defeated Ketheric.
You aren’t entirely sure why you accepted a strategic alliance with Gortash. He was clearly a better choice than Orin, though logic could also assume that you need not choose to ally with either of your enemies. His words were tempting, a seemingly genuine and alluring offer of shared power.
But that wasn’t what tempted you. The way he moved towards you with cool confidence. His tall figure loomed over you as he drew near. He didn’t have the same physical presence as someone like Halsin, but he frightened you all the same. He didn’t need it to appear formidable. To be imposing.
When he gripped your hand in partnership, you could swear he held on for just a moment longer than necessary. His dark eyes lingered on yours before trailing, slowly, down your body. Your heart lept into your throat as a flush of heat warmed your face and brightened the tips of your ears.
You tore your eyes away from his, embarrassment washing over you. Though, admittedly, this wasn’t the only feeling you were experiencing… You hadn’t felt those kinds of stirrings within you before. Not for any of your companions, despite their (many) advances.
No. You shook your head to try to distance yourself from such thoughts. A man like that, a follower of Bane, knows how to pull you into his web. This isn’t personal - it’s his own strategic manipulation, just like he used Karlach.
“Here.” You are startled out of your memories by a tight, strained voice. You look up to see Astarion handing Gale a delicate, embroidered heart.
***
The Elfsong Tavern is a sight to behold tonight. Gale, as convincing as ever, was able to fill the room with decorations for the festival. He stood by the door to greet each patron and provide them with a rousing introduction to the holiday, whether they were interested or not.
You find yourself at the bar, sipping on a glass of wine. You glance around the room as it is filled with joyful guests. Some were paired off and dancing - Wyll gracefully led Astarion as they danced together. You recognize it as one Wyll had been practicing on his own for several nights at camp.
Others were locked together in deep conversation; Lae’zel and Shadowheart among them. Over the past few months, you’ve watched their relationship move from enemies to friends. You saw perhaps a hint of something deeper, here and there, but they didn’t seem ready yet to admit that to themselves. You smile into your wine as you take in a deep drink.
Karlach and Halsin were making their rounds throughout the tavern. Halsin made fast friends wherever he could, offering stories and friendship to anyone who might be in need of it. Karlach, with her recent upgrades and ability to touch people, was very eager to make up for lost time.
All around you, people were happy. Your companions were coupling up - perhaps not with their soulmates, no. But at least they had some companionship, some connection. Why does it matter if it is only temporary? You might not even make it through all of this alive.
With a heavy sigh, you push yourself away from the bar and walk out to the front patio. You rest your forearms on the railing, closing your eyes. No one at the tavern caught your interest, anyway.
Your mind begins to drift, filling with ‘what ifs’. What if Gortash were at this party? Would he even notice you? Has he been thinking of you? Does he feel as ridiculous as you do, pining over someone after one simple interaction? What if...
The smell of smoke fills your nostrils and rips you away from your thoughts. Your eyes snap open, scanning the sky for smoke. You see a small plume of it begin to stack and rise into the air. You feel your legs propel you towards it before you can even register your actions - you know you don’t have much time to think about a plan of action before it’s too late.
Soon, you arrive in front of a small home. Through the window, you can see the flames rising, building up in strength. Amid the smoke, you see a figure, hunched over and immobilized in fear. You cast misty step to get inside the house.
“I’m here to help!” you call out to the person over the roar of flames. They lift their head towards you, their face contorted between fear and hope. You see a back window nearby, close enough that they could escape.
“Step to the side!” you command, and they dive for shelter out of your path. You cast thunderwave to bust open the window so they can make their escape. Glass explodes out through the back, allowing enough space for the person to make a quick leave. However, the new opening allowed for a rush of fresh air to flood the house, adding new fuel to the fire.
The flames leap up with greater force, tongues lashing at the ceiling and quickly melting through the thatches of the roof. The force and ferocity of the flames knock you back, breaking your concentration. You lost the small opportunity you had to fly out of the house after casting your spell.
The walls of flames burn hotter around you and smoke starts to fill your lungs. Panicking, you fall to the ground, desperate for air, throat burning. If you had only taken the time to think, for even just a moment, perhaps you’d have called for help from Karlach before leaving the tavern. Or you could have asked for a Steel Watcher on your way.
One last idea comes to your mind as your body begins to shut down for self-preservation. You feel your magic build within you as you summon everything left inside. Eyes blurry, the spell leaves your lips in a whisper.
Slowly, heavy droplets begin to build into a steady downpour, dampening the roar of the flames. You welcome the stinging rain as bit at your cheeks, offering relief from the heat gathered on your cheeks. Coughing, you struggled to try to get up, weak from the inhaled smoke and spent magic.
Through your blurry peripheral, you notice a figure enter the house. Could it be one of your companions, looking for you? Grateful, you remained on the ground and raised a hand, hoping they could notice you and help you out of this mess. Heavy steps come briskly towards you, and you feel one arm scoop up under your knees while the other holds your back. They lift you up into their arms to carry you out of the building.
Exhausted, you let your head fall against their chest, clutching the fabric of their jacket with your hand. Rain continues to pour even outside of the house (how strong was that spell?). Completely soaked, you begin to shiver, in violent contrast to the state you were in only moments ago. They hold you tighter to their chest as they walk briskly, tirelessly, down the street.
Finally, you are able to open your eyes and register the direction you are going.
“The Elfsong Tavern is the other way,” you mumble softly, bringing your eyes back to your hand that is pressed against their chest. You freeze, a jolt sent straight down your spine. This body doesn’t feel familiar to you. Against all better judgment, you will yourself to look up.
You see his long black hair, plastered down against his face from the pouring rain. The rain traces his cheekbones and small wrinkle lines, outlining his features. His dark eyes catch yours. They look right through you, piercing, hardened, angry. Your body tenses as you flatten your palms against his chest, ready to push yourself away.
He lifts your body up slightly to press his lips into the top of your head.
“Don’t.” He whispers before bringing you back down again and pressing you against his chest.
You aren’t sure why, but you listen to him. You close your eyes and lean your head back into his chest.
***
Finally, you are inside. Warmth burns your cheeks, though your body is freezing from the wet clothes clinging to your body. You are brought to a room where he gently sets you down on a chair. He hands you a health potion, which you quickly drink without a second thought. The liquid starts to work immediately, repairing your raw throat and the other, thankfully minor, injuries from the fire.
Gortash bends over a hearth, coaxing up the flames. You are surprised to see him like this - Lord Enver Gortash, on his knees, making a fire for you?
He crosses the room in a couple of broad steps, soon standing at your feet.
“We need to get you out of these wet clothes.” Gortash extends his hand towards you.
You raise an eyebrow up at him.
“Unless you want to get sick, and make an embarrassingly easy target for Orin.”
Of course. That is what this is about. He is simply protecting his business partner. Protecting his assets.
You roll your eyes, feeling self-conscious about your earlier thoughts and curiosities about your potential relationship. You take Gortash’s hand with an aggravated huff, masking your hurt feelings and slightly wounded pride with a show of annoyance.
He brings his gold-adorned hands up to your shoulders. His fingers linger near the straps of your dress, the metal tips of his gauntlet ghosting your skin. Gently, he slips the straps off to the side of your shoulders. Surprised by the softness of his touch, a small gasp escapes your mouth.
He touches your shoulders again, urging you to turn around. You give in, the tips of your ears turning bright red as you face away from him. His fingertips drag, slowly, from your shoulders to the middle of your back. Though his touch is gentle, it scorches your skin, sending waves of white-hot heat through your body. You tighten your hands into fists, nails biting into your palms and bite your bottom lip to stifle any unintended sounds that threaten to escape.
His fingers find purchase on your zipper and he pulls it down, opening your dress to the bottom of your back. He brings his hands up to the top of your dress and drags it down your body, the wet fabric clinging desperately to your skin. He follows it down your body, around the dip of your waist, over the curve of your hips, down to your ankles, then helps you step out of dripping cloth. He hangs the fabric over a chair near the fire, with care. Who is this man?
You try to make sense of this. He is just helping you. Helping his business partner.
You turn back around to face him. The hair on your body stands on end as goosebumps fill your exposed skin. Gortash steps back in front of you, closer this time.
He reaches his hand to catch your jaw in his grip, the metal tips biting into your skin. He lifts your chin up, eyes blazing as he takes you in. Eager to consume you. You struggle to pull away, to shield yourself from his hunger, but his grip on your jaw is steadfast.
He swipes the pad of his thumb across your chin, tracing a faint scar. A deep sigh rumbles within his chest. With his free hand, he brings yours up to his face. You copied his movements, placing your fingers along his jaw, running your thumb along the scar on his chin…
Wait.
Wait.
No. That’s…that’s just a common scar. So many people have scars on their face. It will take more than just this to convince you.
With trembling hands, you reach up to unlace his shirt. You fumble a bit, unsure if it’s because of nerves or the sloppy way in which he laced it in the first place. Finally, you grasp the bottom of his shirt and pull it up over his chest, peeling off the wet fabric as it clings to his skin. You take in the sight of him, the fire casting a dim light and deep shadows across his features. Your eyes trail along his warm, tanned skin, watching the subtle flex of the muscles in his arms as he pulls the shirt over his head. Dark hair, damp and lightly glistening, decorated his chest down to his stomach, disappearing in the waistband of his pants.
But, most importantly, your eyes land on a spot on his side. Impulsively, you reach out a hand to trace the line etched into his skin, a jagged edge, poorly healed. You hadn’t been able to stitch it up well enough to prevent the lasting mark. And here it is - reflected in another.
You drew in a sharp breath as the reality of this situation came crashing down into you. Enver Gortash: The man who kidnapped your friend’s father. The man who betrayed your friend and damned her to the hells. The man who controls the Netherbrain, and wants to rule over all of Faerûn.
Your soulmate.
Gortash laces his fingers into yours and leads you to the bed nearby. He sits you down on the bed and steps back. His hands move, slowly, to unbuckle his pants.
You bite your lips, holding your breath.
He let his pants fall to his ankles, kicking away the gathered fabric at his feet. Your eyes flick down below his waist for just a moment, long enough to glimpse the size of him straining at his undergarments. Gortash meets your wide eyes with a lazy half-smile, the knowing smile of a man with a dangerous amount of self-confidence.
He parts your legs to stand between them, raking the sharp points of his nails up and down your thighs. You shiver, feeling a burning need start to wind up inside your core.
He continues his exploration, hands running slowly over your hips, your waist, and dragging up to your breasts. He cups one in each hand, massaging gently before bringing one of your nipples into his mouth. He sucks and swirls his tongue around the sensitive bud, pinching your other nipple with his hand. You cry out, throwing your head back as you tangle your hands in his damp hair.
He releases you from his mouth to continue his slow worship of your skin, leaving soft kisses up your chest and over your shoulder. Once he reaches your neck, his kisses get more needy, more desperate. He opens his mouth to bite - hard. You gasp, wrapping your legs around his waist to press him closer to you. You know that are already leaking through your panties, and that doesn’t stop you from trying to grind your hips against him, making sure he feels just how badly you want him.
His mouth is replaced by his hand over your throat, metal-tipped nails digging sharply into your skin as he dulls your air supply. You bring your hands to the one at your neck, but his grip is firm. Your thoughts are swimming as you pull in shallow breaths, and you claw at his grip in vain. As he takes more and more from you, your need for him only deepens.
He pushes you back on the bed, caging you in with his arms around your head. A moment passes as you look at each other, his pupils blown.
You bring his head towards yours, inviting him in. His lips meet yours, tentatively at first, then mad with fervor - clashing against yours like a man starved. His tongue dances against yours, exploring your mouth, desperate to taste all of you. Your nails dug for purchase across his back as he groans into your mouth. You line your hips up with his, grinding yourself against his clothed erection, soaking it through. You wanted more, needed more of him, clawing and pulling at him to press you both together.
He breaks from the kiss, panting, and pushes his body off of yours.
“Ilyana.” Gortash says your name with confidence, possession. Hearing your name from his lips did something to you. You arch your back, keening towards him, wanting him - needing him - to take you. He slips off your panties and removes his last layer. You watch as his hard cock springs loose from his clothes, the tip of it already glistening with precum. Your body aches, desperate for him. He watches you writhe with anticipation as he slowly strokes himself.
“I have been waiting forever to find you. To have you. And now, you are mine.”

The Gold Road Reveal and my thoughts on it
I’m gonna start this off by saying I love ESO. I have been playing since 2017 and I’m pretty much doing everything the game has to offer. Quests, dungeons, trials, antiquities, sometimes PvP. That being said, this post will include lots of criticism that I feel (or know) is shared by many other fans.
But first things first, let me start off by listing some of the things on yesterday’s stream that had me bouncing in my seat:
The new zone is absolutely stunning! There’s a lot of variety to it and it does look very pretty. Exploring it will undoubtedly be fun and a feast for my eyes.
Also, Fennorian will be there, so I know there will at least be one well-written character that my Vestige has an actual bond with.
The scribing system being more of a roleplay thing – I don’t know what some people were hoping for, but I’m glad it’s not some Big Damage For Those Who Are Good At Maths kind of system. It still allows for a more unique playstyle, and I suppose it’s going to turn out like always: Do whatever you want in open world spaces, but keep your bow backflip heal out of veteran content.
And maybe the biggest “Yes!” moment of the evening: Ed Stark being the zone lead for Gold Road. While I did not like High Isle as much (too predictable for my taste, but at least it had recurring characters), he was responsible for Greymoor and Murkmire as well. I thought Greymoor was fantastic (good quests, excellent new characters alongside very familiar recurring ones), and Murkmire… well, I think Murkmire suffers greatly from being “the DLC that came after the Daedric Triad” so to speak. It kind of fell into the void created by a storyline spanning a full year (or even more, if you count the setup for the whole thing, which really began with the Varen’s ghost and Darien’s letter in Wrothgar and the Gold Coast sweetroll killer quests). I think that’s why lots of people don’t seem to like Murkmire very much despite it having great storytelling. My point is this: I do have some hope that after the fiasco some recent DLCs were story-wise, Ed Stark will at least make sure Gold Road makes sense.
And now for the criticism.
Ithelia’s design (Whenever, wherever, I want to kill Hermaeus…)
… yeah, about that. As one of my friends put it, she looks like Shakira with wings.
They really could have done so much better. The way she is now, as @akaviri-dovah said, she really just looks like a Meridia clone who somehow stole Jyggalag’s crystals, which is funny on so many levels (more on that later). Suffice it to say that I personally think the design choices are kind of lazy, given that we already have an angelic-looking Daedric lady.
Tumblr media
Also, what’s with this picture? This kinda makes it seem as if she originally looked. Um. A lil different from the way she is now. In any case, I’m just gonna call this a missed opportunity for something more unique. I do like the glass shard aesthetic, I just wish they’d taken it in a different direction.
Dragon Break Princess Ithelia, or something like that
Now I know Dragon Breaks have to work differently from what Ithelia does, but I am kind of wondering what the consequences of her fate-altering abilities are. How do you alter fate in a way that threatens reality (with reality consisting of past and present events, with all possible versions of the future being possibly-real until one actually happens) without altering the timeline? Just by removing a possible future? Then one could argue that any Daedra could do the same just by manipulating people. Granted, it’s possible that Ithelia sees all possible futures and can do whatever she likes with them, but even then, she’d only be influencing what can become reality, not what already is. So how can she be THAT dangerous?
Right now, it just seems to me that they needed an adversary for Hermaeus Mora, and since his big things are knowledge, secrets and fate, and they couldn’t very well make a Daedric Prince of Anti-Intellectualism or a Daedric Prince of Snitching, she had to be a fate-altering type of Daedra.
At this point I’m still wondering how she even works, because how does she not accidentally cause Dragon Breaks? And if she is that damn powerful, how on earth did Mora alone manage to pretty much remove any trace of her? Which kind of brings me to my next point.
Memory Issues
I know, I know, Ithelia is not the first “new” Daedric Prince. (Which makes her stolen Jyggalag crystal vibes rather funny if you ask me.) And I don’t mind her being crazy powerful either, because so was Jyggalag or else he wouldn’t have been cursed. But that, to my knowledge, required several other Princes, whereas Ithelia apparently got owned by Hermaeus Mora alone, who then erased all memory of her. Which is not only quite the feat given how powerful she has to be, but also a very weird thing for Hermaeus Mora to do. I kinda thought stealing memories was more Meridia’s style. This entire part does not quite make sense to me yet and seems a little out of character, but well. By the way, speaking of Meridia…
Meridia-baiting the players
At this point, ZOS have to know we’re getting tired of waiting for villain Meridia. Everyone I know who is even the least bit interested in ESO’s storyline wants to see it. And I’ve seen people get their hopes up in recent days (new Meridia/Dawnbreaker-themed music box, the Ayleid ruin hint on the fragments sent to streamers…). Even in the twitch chat, there were people hyped about what they thought was Meridia, and who were disappointed when they were told it was Ithelia. And yes, I am absolutely saying they did this and made her a Meridia lookalike on purpose. But I’m well aware that we haven’t gotten any new hints about either Meridia or a certain someone since Greymoor, and that chapter will be four years old soon. Even I am beginning to give up, as much as I hate to say it.
By the way, I really did NOT appreciate Matt Firor name-dropping Darien right at the beginning. If you’re not planning to do anything with him, just let it go. I know absolutely nobody who appreciates being fed very tiny hints for two years and then being left in the dark for four years straight. If you don’t want to pick that storyline up again, just stuff the man into the Old Life quest and be done with it.
Honestly, once again, I’m gonna say this is a MASSIVE missed opportunity right here. ESO’s 10 year anniversary is coming up, what could possibly be better than to go back to the roots now and reward all those loyal players with the story they are waiting for? I distinctly recall Molag Bal telling me to watch my step around Meridia, and the setup is all there. I’m honestly disappointed that there is no Meridia content at all. And this ties in with my final point, albeit vaguely.
“Recurring” characters
Ah, yes, we do love recurring characters. Sometimes. We do love it when a fan favorite comes back – a character who’s accompanied the Vestige over the course of an entire story arc or has made multiple appearances over the years and has become beloved by many players, and, most importantly, who is well-written, i.e. has a unique personality. And that’s why “recurring characters” is not always a recipe for success when it comes to getting people hooked on a story.
It is when it’s one of the five companions, or a Ravenwatch member, or your main alliance buddy (Raz, Naryu and – oh, wait, yeah, us Covenant babies don’t have one anymore). It also works when it’s a character we’ve run across several times already, like Alchemy, who I know tons of people love, or my favorite walking disaster Revus Demnevanni.
But it’s certainly not working when it’s a character we barely know anything about, and who isn’t a hit with the community. Like Eveli’s brother whom I had to google because I could not remember who he was. He’s from a prologue quest. Nothing more. That’s not a “beloved returning character”.
ZOS have several of those just lying around, and they’re just not using them. And even the base game had so many characters that were there over the course of several zones, that were well-written and at least memorable to the degree that people would recognize them with just a little reminder, like Indaenir or Holgunn and Walks-in-Ash or the Vanos siblings. Hell, we haven't seen good old Vanus Galerion in a while. They are ten years old now and deserve to be dragged to the surface again.
Okay, I’m done now!
This concludes my rant (because that’s what it is, I’m aware). I just want to say again that this is not be dragging ESO through the mud, this is just me pointing out that the devs (especially the writers) could do so much better if they listened to their lore nerds and story-interested players more.

This one is a oneshot in introduction to the character Teddy, and it's a fun little game to play. While there isn't any real big content, we do get to learn more about Teddy's life and point of view, which all climaxes near the end depending on how you view the game. This game is r18 though despite not having any r18 content. You can find more about this game at @foxinround.
I'm going to be using the MC because while Big Chungus is an amazing default name I'm going to die laughing before I can get through the summary section if I use that name.
The story starts out with the MC hanging out at a cafe near their university enjoying the scene when a guy asks to sit across from them. After accepting this, we learn that his name is Teddy and we start to talk to him about various things. He will ask about the type of drink we have and if we choose the sweetest flavor he will agree as he's also a sweet tooth. He will then pick up his drink and the two talk more about their lives, with the MC aiming for a major in Computer Science and Teddy taking care of his grandmother at home. The MC will actually give a recommendation of their own drinks from the cafe that they work at, slying trying to get him to check it out. The two talk about what kind of frappe the MC has and if they choose the sweetest option again, Teddy will stare strangely at them, something that the MC notices but ultimately shrugs off. The two continue talking about the type of languages that the MC will take, with us learning that Teddy is a bit of a romantic and wants to learn French as well as being fluent in Spanish. Teddy will then talk about love and how he wants to experience love in the world, viewing it more optimistically with them asking how the MC feels about it. If the MC responds the same, wanting to see the world in a more positive light, then Teddy will begin laughing, stating how rare it is two have two people connect so easily like this. He believes the two are destined for each other and as his obsession grows, the MC eventually passes out.
If you don't choose all of the viable options with him or have different opinions, then Teddy will ask the MC for their number instead.
The story is pretty short but it does give an idea on how Teddy is as a character as he's romantic, fairly optimistic and family oriented. It's kind of interesting seeing how he thinks considering that you do have to have a similar opinion to even have him get to the yandere ending. It actually caught me off guard for a bit because I did actually match with Teddy's point of view initially which landed me right into the yandere ending at the end. I'm not sure why the MC ends up passing out in that ending, I'm assuming it's just a way for them to end the game, but if they did, I am curious how and when Teddy was able to drug them since we don't get to see when that happens. I'm probably overthinking it though. His design is pretty unique too with one of the few pink haired yandere guys that we have. I am curious how later on his point of view and the MC will have in future games and what exactly Teddy will do to them.
The MC, though brief in this game was pretty fun as well. We get to know that they work in another barista and they seem like a pretty nice person, which does make sense especially if the yandere ending is the most cannon one in this game you would want to have an MC that is able to match him in terms of energy and point of view.
While it was a short game, I do think it was a good introduction for Teddy, being able to see what kind of viewpoint he has. I am hoping to be able to see more of his family in the future and I'm excited for what will be coming.

Rating GoT and HotD dresses based on how well I think they'd fit into Ascendance of a Bookworm
Ok first
Tumblr media
4/10
Not my favorite Dany look, but I also don't hate it. It's pretty she looks stunning, but for AoaB, the shillouette is wrong. I love the high neck and the cutout! It's a fashion trend that I hope Rozemyne eventually introduces to Yogurtland. A great look that's a little too modern for the world of AoaB.
Tumblr media
9/10
MOTHER😍😍😍
When it comes to fashion in GoT, you can not outdo the doer, and She(yes, with a capital S) is Cersei Lannister. The color, the cut the metal waist belt with the lions on it with the matching necklace 😭 I'm gagged! She's amazing! One point off because while I feel like on it's own the dress would work well in AoaB, but something about it is just off. i dont think it would completely work. Maybe it's the down hair 🤔
Tumblr media
2/10
FERDINAND IS DEAD AND HE MOST DEFINITELY THINKS SHES A HARLOT💀
First, let me preface by saying I LOVE this dress. It's one of the best dresses in GoT period, but It would NEVER work in AoaB. To them, she's practically naked. Sheer cloth? No sleeves? Neckline to the navel? Oh no honey its straight to the white tower with you! The metal additions are nice, and I can see someone crafting those out of feystones. It's also long enough...so 2 points🤷🏾‍♀️
Tumblr media
8/10
Would fit in the world but not as a dress as a woman's riding outfit, which is what i believe it's supposed to be in GoT as well. In a different color, it's giving future Aub Alexandria ready to defend her duchy. She is a fierce leader, and looking at this outfit, you would never question that.
Tumblr media
7/10
I'm not gonna lie... This is my favorite Game of Thrones look. I think the moment we saw Natalie in this, we all fell in love Margaery. However, for AoaB, it could work with some VERY minor tweaks. The neckline is, of course, too low, and it's backless, but it's very tasteful. I think this is a style Rozemyne could introduce in the future, especially given how hot Alexandria is. She already introduced sleeveless dress and in GoT the reason for the margaery's "risqué" dress is because Highgarden(where she's from) is very hot especially in comparison to King's Landing which is said to have moderate to hot weather.
Tumblr media
10/10
Our first House of the Dragon look and it's 🥰 🥰 I can literally see Elvira wearing this. It's giving everything it should. The silhouette is perfect, the metal additions are stylish, and the headband is too die for! It's giving everything it needs to for an AoaB dress, and I love it!
Tumblr media
5/10
Is this list mostly Dany dresses? YES.
BUT I CAN SEE THE VISION!! Other than being backless, I think Rozemyne has already laid the foundation for this style of dress. I think a slight alter to the silhouette and some very off the shoulder sleeves and boom! we have an Aoab appropriate dress. But the belt, the metal work at the neckline, I think it would fit in very well eventually.
Tumblr media
9/10
Just close up the neckline, and you've got a perfect AoaB dress. This one was a favorite of HotD fans, and it's easy to see why. It's a beautiful dress. I could see a noble lady wearing this right now.
Tumblr media
8/10
This is another future Aub Alexandria dress. Again, I think for Yurgenschmidt it's too much skin, but again, I think Rozemyne will eventually introduce fashion like this. The cape incorporated into the outfit to make sleeves is 😍😍😍. This is how she's gonna show up to the archduke conference stunting on the hoes 👏 👏👏 I feel like high necklines are just in Rozemyne's future🤷🏾‍♀️
Tumblr media
10/10
The sleeves😍😍😍 The waistline😍😍😍 The paneling 😍😍😍 She's carrying Geduldh's burden and she is stunning! For once the hair is also very AoaB which is more common in HotD than in GoT as they try(and kinda fail) to create a unique fashion identity for HotD. I'm a big hair snood fan and I'm living for this one. The color of the dress is also fantastic. If you wore this is Yurgenschmidt and no one would even guess that you're from another world.
Omg I had so many more to talk about, but what are you guys AoaB fashion inspirations? Any movies or TV shows? Are we all still in love with that Susan Pevenasie dress from the end second Chronicles of Narnia movie? Please tell me! I love seeing everyone's thoughts in this fandom🥰

it's almost new years and you guys have been there for me so much during this year so tonight I do want to make a post trying to recognize a lot of people within the community. My head is pretty fuzzy right now so I fear I'm gonna forget some folks, in which case I'm honestly genuinely very sorry, but know that so many of you have touched my life in a positive way. Since I wasn't fully around on Thanksgiving either, consider this my chance of telling you all that I'm thankful for you too.
Some of you may not see this. Either because you don't follow this blog or you've been offline for a while. But I hope even if you don't see this post you still are able to understand my feelings towards you.
At the moment I would prefer if people don't reblog this. I'm not the most comfortable with my out of character thoughts being spread around. However if you know someone in this but think they won't see it on their own you are welcome to link them to this. Also if you're mentioned in this and you REALLY want to save it, I guess I can't stop you from reblogging.
Ruler: It feels like anytime I'm in a rough spot you always have kind words for me. With how often you're in character I just deeply respect you always breaking it for me. You've helped me to feel safe in the community during a very difficult time. That means the world to me.
Annette-mun: I know we only met a year ago but you have become an incredibly close friend to me. Being honest, I rank you as one of my best friends. I have fun with all of the boardgames we play together as well as the connections we've made between a lot of our muses. I always want to recognize all the work you put in sending me those ask spams. I'm sorry that because of head stuff I haven't been able to answer most of the new set. It makes me feel as if I've failed to respect the effort that you have put in. But I hope some day in the future I can fix that. I'm very glad we're friends.
Vel: You're a really funny friend and I care about you a lot. I feel that sometimes I'm not sensitive enough to things that may bother you and worry I may have upset you at times in the past. If I have, I'm really sorry. You write Kyouko really well and your ocs are also quite fun. Thanks for letting me make Nagi. Sometimes you say things that make me feel you are self-concious about your blog and other things. So I just wanna reiterate that I am in your corner and here for you whenever you need.
Slap: I was shy towards you at first, I'll admit. It may not seem it but I'm kinda a shy person in general and I'm nervous to warm up to people, but I'm glad you joined the Touhou community. You're a really funny guy. I love reading your posts on my dash and now I also love playing the occasional game with ya. Your ability to do voice and to commit to bits is astounding. I'm really glad I met you.
Argo: You're someone who is always there for me. I really appreciate that. I left the Fate community for personal reasons years ago now. I'm very glad that, despite that, I still ended up meeting you. Because you've been such a good friend to me. I'm glad that you've gotten somewhat into Touhou because it gives us more room to interact. You've really been there when I've needed you. Often you apologize and say you don't do enough but you've done so much for me. You're special to me.
Hoche: Through all the struggles I've gone through you have been very supportive of me. You have been a level headed voice of support and advice. I think that if it were not for you I would have been worse off in many different circumstances. Aside from that you are a very talented writer. I find myself stunned by some of what I've seen you write. Thank you for everything you've done for me and for being my friend.
Zane: You always show me cool warhammer things and that's special to me. I also really like Nyalter. I love ocs in general, but I think you have done a phenomenal job in giving her a life and story that is uniquely hers. I find it to be quite inspirational and it really pushes me to work harder on my own original characters.
Amber: I have mentioned this before but you were the first person to welcome me into the community. That is always going to be special to me. During that period when you left I teared up a fair amount because it felt like things would always be so different with you gone. I'm very glad that you came back. I really like all your ocs. I'm glad Eri isn't gone but I'm also really happy to be seeing the opportunity for your other ocs to shine as well. They're all fun, but I'm particularly a fan of Anna.
Kay: You've given me some of the advice that has helped me the most when I have been in a bad spot. I can't thank you enough for that. You've stopped me from making really bad decisions. You've also just been a fun and supportive friend. I am very interested in your Reimu and the story arc you've created with the hakurei god.
Swigg: I know we haven't talked much lately. I think our schedules don't line up the best. But you recently mentioned trying to get back into Tumblr. I'll be very happy if you do. Your ocs are fun and you put a lot of love and care into the canon characters you write. I think you add a lot to the community.
Sethy: I didn't know it for a while but back in the Fate community I followed your arknights blog and admired you there. I'm super glad I have gotten the opportunity to meet you and to become your friend. I think that all the things you do are so cool. Like you're a vtuber that's incredible. I always wanted to stream but could never work up the courage. You also know the creators of all the walfas I love. I just think its so cool. You have such a history within the community. I know that you suffered a very bad tragedy this year. I don't believe I was in a good enough headspace at that time to have provided you with the support a friend should have given and I deeply regret that. I just hope you're doing well.
Noka: I think you're a real sweetie and also really funny. I'm glad to see you posting on your sfw blog a lot more again because I really love seeing you on my dash. I'm hoping that we can do a lot more threads in the future because its always fun to write our muses together.
Minnie: Maybe the only person with the same brain worms as me. I know that lately we have not talked much but I hope you are doing well. I just wanna say that I really love your art.
Aurora: My apprentice and buddy, hehe. I know I haven't been around much but I want you to know that I'm glad you decided to join the rpc. You're so full of ideas and kindhearted. You have such phenomenal oc ideas and have such a talent for making danmaku. I think someday you may be the centerpiece of the community.
Sats: We haven't spoken too often but like Amber you were one of the first folks to interact with me in the community. Alongside that I find your writing to be phenomenal. As are your headcanons. The work that you put in to research, especially on folklore, is just so inspirational. It drives me to want to learn everything I can.
Momi: Hey Momi. It's been a while since you've been around and I miss you a lot. I know we still message on discord occasionally so its not like I can't reach out to ya. But I just miss you being in the rpc a lot. You were such a great writer and always doing something fun. But I imagine you've got a whole bunch of difficult challenges ahead of you. I've heard the career you're pursuing is really rough. I hope that you're thriving in it though.
Sarience: You've always been a good pal to me. I have a lot of fun writing with Neka in both forms as well as your other muses. There's a lot of asks from you I haven't answered yet. I'm really sorry about that. It feels disrespectful. Still I hope to be able to do more in the future. Thank you for always being interested in interacting with my muses, even when I was very new and unestablished.
Kyo: I really really like everytime that I see you on my dash. You write your muses in such a fun and engaging way. I hope that we get to interact a lot more in the future. I also know you've started something new in the last few months, not gonna be specific since I'm not sure if you've shared that part of your personal life on Tumblr, but I wish you the best of luck at it. I think you're going to succeed hard!
Ran: Ran I guess I just first wanna say I consider you a really good and special friend. When we've spoken you've often alluded to social anxiety and feeling like you've said embarassing things. So I want to restate that I've never been put off by what you've said and I love talking to you. As well as roleplaying and doing boardgames. I have so much fun pairing our muses up our causing wacky hijinks. I haven't seen you on your blogs much lately. Maybe I've just missed you but if not I hope you return to the rpc soon. It's not the same place without you.
Metal: You've been a long time friend to me by this point. Longer than a lot of folks on this list. I really appreciate that a lot. We haven't talked too much lately but I hope you're doing well. I also know not all of our fandoms sync up but I'm always down to interact anyways.
Nep: Hey Nep I haven't really seen you on Tumblr lately. I'm hoping that's just because we've been active at different times but if not I hope you're back soon. If you're not, I hope you're happy wherever you are. I think that you're real fun to write with and you've got original characters I'm excited to do much more with. I also believe that you had an event while I was gone that I'll hopefully be able to catch up on sometime soon.
Koi: I know I've not been around much lately but I hope that you're doing well. I've not really been in the headspace for horror lately but you're very good at bringing a unique horror flair to things.
Plumber: Hey we don't really personally know each other all that well but you're always making fun and wacky posts that I love to see on my dash. It feels like the rpc would be a lot less fun without you here. You also seem to be an incredibly kind person.
Kaali: A friend I've had for quite a while now but that I don't talk to enough. Sorry about that I'm just genuinely not the best with conversations. I have mad respect for all the work you put into your original characters and into your ideas. Like you really pull out all the stops.
Awoo: I've admired your ability to create interesting and fun original characters a lot. Several decisions I've made to develop my skills as a roleplayer have been inspired by you. I know you've had some mental health struggles of your own and I haven't heard from you lately so I hope you're doing alright wherever you are.
Sades: During some really difficult moments you were there for me when not many other people were. I'm always going to appreciate that. You're also the reason I got into Touhou. Which means that without you, chances are I woule not have met the vast majority of people here or found a community where I feel I belong.
Cobalt: I am always ecstatic when I see your posts on my dash. I love your Chen and think that you're a lot of fun. I have not been around much but when I have been I've seen you talking about things like not feeling you have much to do in the community. I can't make decisions for you but I do want to say that I think you are a fundamental piece of our rpc. I would be sad not having you here.
Teeps: I was shy about approaching you at first but you're incredibly cool. A lot of the fandoms you are in I'm not in but your posts get me interested in them anyways. Like I have no clue who that green sonic character is but you give her such an energy. I'm real glad to know ya. As far as the 2hu rpc goes you've been around a lot longer than me and I love hearing your own personal that you've developed.
Cait: I need to pop in and catch your streams more. I think that you're very cool to see on the dash. I especially love the way that you write your Sakuya. I really cherrish her interactions with my Reimu.
Sev: First of all. A while ago you sent me a very kind message wishing me well in my mental health struggles. I was not in the best place then so I did not appropriately respond. So thank you for that it truly meant a lot to me. I believe that you put a stunning amount of work into the characters you write, giving them so much detail and layers. Its inspiring and I just really want to appreciate you for it.
Hanafuda: You haven't been around much and last we spoke you alluded to a rough spot. So I hope if you ever see this that you're doing well. It was always fun having another Miko on the dash for mine to banter with. I also looked forward to seeing more of the other muses you played. Maybe someday you'll return.
Frozen: Everytime I see one of your posts it makes me smile. Honestly you've got some of the funniest jokes in the fandom. Some I don't get but I still feel they'd be hilarious if I got them. Also I have noticed you often commission art for other people. I find that to be a very sweet and kindhearted thing. So I consider you to be the heart of the community.
Fox: I don't know you very well but I've recently seen your multimuse popping up and it seems very fun. So I want to get to know ya in the future.
Chiru: We've not really spoken but I think you make some really great posts. Very well written headcanons and roleplays. So I just wanna say I'm always happy seeing you on my dash.
Draco: you're not in the touhou fanbase but you have been a long time friend. I haven't heard much from you lately so I hope you're doing well. I'm here if ya need me.
Sturm: I think that all your fairy posts are incredibly. You truly are a star of my dashboard. Hopefully someday we'll interact more. I'd like that.
Xana: You seem to have so much lore for your blogs, its really cool. It seems you've been around a long while so there's a lot of history. Someday I'd like to sit down and hear all about it from you. I also find your writing to be quite fun.
Jacob: we don't interact too much but I'm always excited to see someone posting walfas images. So that has always made you stick out in my dash and brighten it. Hope you're doing well.
Geisthonoredferry: As of yet, I don't believe we've interacted. But you're always liking my posts thst's something I really appreciate. Hopefully sometime I can get to know your oc.
Carp: Last I saw you were in a rough spot so I hope things are well now. You're newer to my dash but you seem very kind hearted and jovial. Also your ocs sre red as hell and go've got good face claim tastes.
Crim: You're a real cool friend with a lot of cool ideas. I love any interactions that our muses have together. Although my favorite is Kutaka/Eiki because it's somehow both a very obvious ship and yet a rare one. I think that they are very cute together. I also like the sisterhood of Reimu and Kisume. It's an unexpected but fun dynamic.
Mugenri-mun: I don't believe I know your screen name but you've been real supportive of me through my hardship and gave me a person to speak to. I would not be in as good a place without you. Also I'm glad someone is repping Len'en.
Kcmeiji & Closedheartedgirl: I wanted to note you both as you are both Komeiji blogs thay popped up and then disappeared while I've been got on hiatus. I just think that's a bit disappointing. The Komeiji are some of my favorites.
That's about all I have to say. It was kind of tough to word it all out but those are things I want y'all to know.

some thoughts on the malevolent s4 finale...
(yes it was great and i loved it and i'll relisten to it many times, buuuuut i have a few thoughts and nowhere else to really share them, so here we go)
i'm a little unclear what to make of Arthur/John and Larson/Yellow's situations.
a large part of what drew Kayne's attention to Arthur was the fact that Arthur did not die upon becoming John's host, which we are led to believe is an extremely impressive feat (even if we don't know the factors contributing to Arthur's success in doing so).
but then there's Larson and Yellow.
if Yellow is not just another fragment, but in fact the King-sans-John, then wouldn't Larson's ability to host Yellow be that much more impressive?
we don't know much about how Yellow became bound to Larson. presumably, Kayne's responsible, but beyond that... we got nothin'.
it's possible that Kayne aided Larson's ability to host Yellow, but if not... then that implies that Arthur's uniqueness no longer relies on him carrying John.
i hoped that we would get some clarity on that the next time we encountered Larson/Yellow, but no such luck. instead, we learned that all four of them--Arthur, Larson, John, and Yellow--are all dying in their present circumstances. (initially, i briefly thought "oh, that's what sets Arthur apart from Larson--Arthur isn't suffering the same consequences as Larson for playing divine host" only for the script to immediately inform me that no, Arthur is also dying.)
granted, this could very well be addressed in the future. Kayne's obviously going to be playing a bigger role in s5, and not only could he reveal more about Larson/Yellow, he's also explicitly interested in what actually makes Arthur special.
speaking of! KAYNE!!!
it's hard not to enjoy Kayne. his dialogue is over-the-top and FUN. plus, he can't help but be a lens for the audience because he is, with popcorn and everything, also a member of the audience.
that said, he's been pulling strings since the coda, which is more the other audience members can say. even if you include the patrons, Kayne has more insight and power in this story than anyone else in the audience ever will.
which is why i'm so interested to see what Kayne actually wants with Arthur! comparatively, he doesn't really seem to care about John much. he seems to view John as something of a novelty, and he cares about him as a tool for manipulating Arthur, but he doesn't show much interest in John as an actual person.
what also has me interested about s5 is that we don't have that much of a direction for the plot right now. it kinda sounded like Kayne wants to take them on a cosmic tour? which could include the Dark World, but it's hard to say whether that will be a purposeful destination or a dramatic accident. (and i'm all for dramatic accidents, but that implies Kayne intends something else and i want to know what that is!!!)
it's possible i'd have a better idea of what to expect next if i had any familiarity with the Call of Cthulu game, but i don't. just surface-level lovecraftian lore for me, thx. (i plan on reading The King in Yellow sometime, but i'm not about to go on a deep-dive into the lovecraftian mythos.)
anyway, this is what's eating at me rn. if you got this far, thanks for reading and pls tell me your thoughts too!!

Neo World: Pacification Program
Hello everyone, Dense here! This story, Neo World: Pacification Program, wasn't a solo effort. @thelewdpokemanik and I have been working, and intend to continue working on this story together. We're writing each chapter as a pair, so forgive us if you sometimes notice some differences between our two styles of writing.
You can also find this story, and stay the most updated on it, on AO3, which can be found here.
The idea for this story was born out of the desire to work on a story together, and after brainstorming we came up with this! We found the idea to be fun and unique, and decided to just throw ourselves at it and enjoy the ride.
As always, comments, kudos and whatever else you desire are never required, but we do love getting the feedback.
Without further ado, Poke and Dense present, Neo World: Pacification Program! We hope that you all enjoy this journey with us. <3
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter One: Problems, Planning, Pacification
“How the hell did this happen?” Mondo screamed, slamming his fist on the arm of his chair, making the metal creak painfully. His voice bounced off the walls of the mechanical operation room housing the Neo World Program computer, which really, was a gross understatement. It was a true marvel of technological advancement, including all the monitors, storage banks, the pods containing the sleeping members of his senior class- and many more things Makoto couldn’t even hope to understand.
The biker was hunched in his seat as if he were prepared to lunge if he didn’t like the answer, though Makoto knew better.
He still grimaced in his seat. “We- aren’t sure? I mean, obviously, one of the Remnants must have brought the virus with them, but…”
“We don’t exactly have the Ultimate Programmer here with us to follow along with the Neo World Program’s code,” Celeste said, ignoring the way Mondo twitched at her words. The biker had never gotten over Chihiro’s death at Toko’s hands, and honestly, there was a very real chance he would never move on. Well, it's not like Makoto had any room to talk, of course.
The only reason he could count the number of deaths he hadn’t gotten over on his hands was because only ten students had died during the Killing Game. Their Killing Game now.
Because there might very well be a second one soon.
“No doubt, that Izuru fellow had ulterior motives in helping us. I said he wasn’t trustworthy from the start, but of course, someone wouldn’t listen to reason…” The gambler said, shooting Makoto a look many would call venomous, but Makoto could see that while frustrated, there was next-to-no anger there.
“We wouldn’t have been able to find and capture all the Remnants without his help, Celeste, you know that. And Chiaki vouched for him, didn’t she?”
Indeed, Chiaki Nanami, the Ultimate Gamer and former Class Representative of Class 77, had vouched for the mysterious Ultimate. She had also been the one to approach Makoto, asking for his help saving her classmates, though he couldn’t say he understood why she trusted him in particular with this. It could have been that he was the Ultimate Hope, or maybe that he was the unofficial leader of the surviving class of Junko’s game. He didn’t know why she chose him over any of his other classmates. He did however know that the rest of Future Foundation would have categorically refused, if not outright arrested her for even proposing this, where he was eager to help.
Of course, things had escalated since then.
And that was before Monokuma came back, somehow.
Celeste clicked her tongue. “That girl is too much like you, Makoto. She would vouch for her killer as she bled to death.”
Makoto laughed awkwardly at that, though he hardly felt jovial. This was worse than what he’d thought the worst-case scenario would be.
“So, what do we know?” Kyoko’s calm voice sounded through the laptop’s speaker.
The detective was working in concert with Sakura, helping keep the heat off the other survivors as they went MIA with the Remnants- no, with Class 77.
“Well, things were working properly in the beginning. Usami was taking care of the students, and as expected, Izuru was replaced by his former self, Hajime Hinata. Chiaki did warn us that this would happen, so...” Makoto explained half-heartedly, his mind still focused on the issue at hand.
“So the likelihood that it is relevant is minor,” Kyoko nodded along, also focused on the more pressing issue. “What then?”
“Well, Monokuma appeared.” Makoto explained, trying to ignore the pit in his stomach he’d felt at the sight. For a moment, he’d almost thought it a nightmare if not for the way Celeste’s clawed hand had been digging into his shoulder like a talon.
“But wasn’t Usami supposed to be armed to deal with viruses and attacks?” Sakura’s calm voice asked from Kyoko’s monitor. “What came of that?”
“Monokuma overpowered her, somehow. He stole her administrator privileges and, uh, repainted her and is calling her ‘Monomi’. As far as we can tell, her actual AI hasn’t been affected in this process, probably for him to enjoy her suffering.” Makoto explained, only for Celeste to jump in.
“We’ve confirmed that Monokuma was attacked by the rabbit in some fashion, but none of us here can actually decipher what Fujisaki and Gekkogahara’s work does.” Celeste shot Makoto a smirk then. “I suppose all we can do is Hope it’ll be enough.”
The Ultimate Hope groaned. Ever since Celeste had called him that on live television, it had, effectively, become his official title, and the gambler was more than happy to tease him about it at every opportunity. Not to mention teasing him in other ways…
Makoto shook off his blush and cleared his throat. “Yeah. Usami seems to have done something during their fight, but what exactly, we really can’t tell…”
Kyoko hummed for a moment, before continuing. “Monokuma took over the program, but to what extent?”
Makoto grimaced again. “Almost completely. Usami’s been completely depowered, we can’t interfere at all with what’s happening inside- Though, we still have access to the cameras and can import stuff in-”
“You. Will. Not. Enter that simulation, Makoto Naegi. I forbid it,” Celeste said, her voice cold as ice, and Makoto felt his blood run cold. “No doubt that bitch left those untouched expressly to make you jump in like the self-sacrificing idiot you are.”
Yeah… Celeste still hadn’t forgiven him for not throwing Kyoko under the bus during Junko’s staged trial. At least, she hadn’t tried to kill him.
Makoto could still clearly see the scar Celeste had left on Kyoko’s face with her claw on her monitor. The pale line went from the corner of her mouth, and stretched out to just under her cheekbone, pulling slightly whenever Kyoko spoke.
Kyoko didn’t seem to bregrudge Celeste for it however. ‘I have worse scars’ she’d once said, ‘and this one I deserve.’
Celeste’s choice of words had been a lot less…diplomatic. ‘Should’ve taken the lying whore’s tongue with it.’ or, something to that effect…
Makoto chose not to linger on it, honestly. He had lost too many friends to begrudge those that had survived.
“I agree.” Sakura said, followed by Kyoko’s silent nod.
“Guys…” Makoto tried to plead his case, that he wasn’t actually that bad-
“If he tries, I’ll tie him down to his chair,” Mondo promised, making Celeste scoff.
“You won’t touch him, you brute. No, if Makoto does anything stupid, he’ll answer to me.”
The luckster couldn’t quite hide his wince at that. Celeste could kill a man with her words, but never did they cut so deep as when she tried to imprint on Makoto that she was going to find a way to stop him from passing on before the rest of them. It always hurt to know he worried her so much, especially when he could see the tears held back tightly just behind her mask.
And it’s not like Makoto wanted to sacrifice himself or anything. He’d be perfectly happy never putting his life in danger again, thank you very much.
But on the other hand, he was incapable of refusing to offer his help when someone needed it. Not that he wanted to be the kind of person who would, in all honesty.
Anyway.
“Celeste, you said ‘that bitch’ earlier?” Kyoko asked, bringing the conversation back on topic (thankfully for Makoto). “Then, do you think…”
“That this is one of Enoshima’s ploys? Obviously. It’s got her name written all over this.”
“But- she’s dead, right?” Mondo asked, and Makoto nodded definitively.
Though he hadn’t seen her corpse himself, well…
The Remnants had brought enough pieces back to remove any doubt he might’ve had.
“Yes, but I don’t think she was stupid enough to actually stop her planning at her death. No, Enoshima is far too clever for that.” Celeste said, a note of begrudging respect in her voice that Makoto could only agree with.
Junko was many things. Insane, sado-masochistic, cruel, self-destructive-
But most of all, she was intelligent. Incredibly so.
If she wanted to plan something like this, even something that would only come to pass after her death, she definitely could.
“But how, is the question.” Sakura said. “Fearsome as Junko is, she cannot rise from the dead.”
Hopefully.
“No. But she has spent many years in the same class as the Ultimate Programmer as he developed Alter Ego technology, and was familiar with the Ultimate Neurologist.”
Kyoko’s voice almost seemed like it deafened Makoto for a moment as her words shot through him.
“Are you saying- Junko…”
“Made an Alter Ego herself? I don’t know. But I think it is a very real possibility, especially since she has been known to be very adept with technology in the past. It would explain how efficiently she took over the simulation. If Usami wasn’t fighting one AI, but two…”
Mondo’s jaw was tightly set. “Then it was two on one, and Usami couldn’t fight back.”
“She did manage to infect the Monokuma AI with something, so to say she was powerless would be false, but whether or not she was effective…” Sakura let the sentence hang.
She didn’t need to say it for everyone to understand.
“All we can do is wait, regrettably.” Celeste finally said, and Makoto found himself squirming slightly.
Yeah… Nothing anyone could do.
“Well, I suppose we’ll have to see. Makoto, Celeste, please keep us abreast of the situation as it evolves. As of now, it seems like the Killing Game has yet to begin, but that could change at any moment.” Kyoko said, and Makoto wanted to jump up and say there was no chance it would begin at all-
But he knew better, sadly.
“I’ll make sure Yasuhiro is informed about the situation discreetly.” Kyoko added, and Makoto nodded absent-mindedly.
Hiro was still in the heart of Future Foundation, working and acting as if nothing was wrong at all.
He was ideally placed to learn about Future Foundation’s movements, but it also meant that all of his communications were heavily scrutinized- no doubt Kyoko would need to sneak the message to him somehow. It also meant that, under no circumstances could Hiro hint at knowing Jabberwock Island even existed, and especially not send a message here.
After a few perfunctory goodbyes, Mondo stomped back outside the room, no doubt looking to take out his anger on something or other, while Makoto sagged back in the chair he’d been occupying a few hours ago when Monokuma first appeared.
God, what a nightmare…
Makoto looked into the screen in front of him, jumping from camera to camera and observing the 16 students who were now stuck inside the game he’d only just escaped with his life a few months ago.
And there was nothing he could do to help except hope for the best.
Unbidden, Makoto’s eyes drifted to the second monitor, the one showing the drives of the Neo World Program.
He’d gone through them wildly when Monokuma first appeared, but he could barely understand what was in it, let alone figure out what had changed.
Though, there was one thing he’d recognized, if only because it was possibly labeled explicitly for him, or whoever was using the program when something went wrong.
“So? What’s your backup plan?” Celeste asked from the seat next to him, making him jump.
“Gah! C-Celeste!? Wh-What are you talking about!?” Makoto tried to deny it, but Celeste only smiled at him.
“You’re hiding something, Makoto, and not very well. Not that you can hide anything from me of course.” Was that a note of smugness in her voice?
But it was true that Celeste could read him like a book. Maybe that was the price to pay for him to be able to see past her mask himself.
Makoto sighed, before navigating the drive back to the simply named folder he’d found earlier today.
‘In Case Of Usami Failure!’
And inside that folder was a single program, and a text document, which Makoto opened, before sliding his chair out of the way for Celeste to read herself.
“Thank you very much~” Celeste said, leaning over Makoto and making him blush as he felt her body pressing into him lightly as she read.
He looked away, though his eyes struggled to find where to land for a moment, before he eventually closed them, not needing to read the file again.
He’d done so again, and again, and again already.
‘Hello! If you’re reading this .txt file, then this must mean something went wrong that Usami failed to fix! Depending on what or why, you might need to take matters into your own hands! If you do, here’s what you need!
In this folder, you will find a .exe program! It is functionally the same thing as the Pacification Program Usami carries with her, except you can direct it yourself, should the need arise. To do so, all you must do is boot up the .exe, and navigate through the island using the 3D render the program offers. Simply select a target, and focus the Pacification Program to whatever intensity may be needed.
This does of course come with risks, so please take care to use this responsibly. The subjects inside of this program are treated as ‘rogue code’ by the Pacification Program, and this can affect the Rehabilitation Program the Neo World Program’s foundation rests on. As it is designed to do in the worst-case scenario, the program will first move to pacify the malicious code to prevent it from further harming the Neo World. From there it will attempt to alter the base coding of the target into something more useful for the system moderator.
The Pacification Program is relatively untested, and it should only be used in the case of an extreme emergency! If at all possible, contact technical support before resorting to this option. Love love <;3’
Makoto only had to wait a moment before Celeste’s eyes turned back toward him, the rubies glinting with intelligence as she took her seat again, her hands folded in her lap primly.
“So?” She asked, and Makoto grimaced.
“I tried using it on Monokuma, but it couldn’t select him as a target. Maybe it’s because he’s not an original part of the program, or maybe it's because Usami did manage to infect him and he can’t be targeted again or something. I tried using the 3D map to search the island, but it’s literally changing as I navigate it, and some parts are completely closed off and inaccessible, like the ruins. As far as I can tell, it isn’t really useful in this situation.”
Celeste’s smile widened a fraction. “If you believed that, you wouldn’t be so bothered by it.”
Makoto smiled shakily. “You know me too well…”
“Fufufu~ Oh, Makoto, you couldn’t be more wrong~” Celeste slightly teased him, but her eyes were still serious.
“Well, I tested the program for a little bit. It all seems focused on calming people down, making them more compliant, less aggressive, etc. I can target everything on the island with it, except for Monokuma, as I said. I think it works just as it's advertised, making sure conflicts don't happen on the island.”
Makoto paused for a moment, staring back at Celeste’s pale face.
“If- the worst came to pass, I was thinking maybe I could use it to stop things from- happening?” Makoto winced at his own words as he tried to tip-toe around actually saying what he was worried about.
“You think you could use this Pacification Program to stop a murder, should it come to that?”
“It shouldn't have to, but- I know better than that. My hope is that if one of them does fall to that temptation, I can stop it before it's too late, save them where I- '' Makoto choked on the words before they finished leaving his mouth.
Where I couldn't save them before.
The words were left unsaid, but both knew what he had been getting at. The loss of their friends still weighed heavy on all of the survivors, and him more so than anyone else.
His guilt cut him deeper than anyone else’s did, his heart almost bleeding out of his chest sometimes, and Celeste no doubt recognized the pain he felt so vividly still. He wore his emotions on his sleeve, always had, and now was no different.
He took a deep breath, and slowly let it out, letting his shoulders fall with it. “Like I said, I hope I won’t have to use it, and not only because I want to believe in them, but also because, well, I’m not a genius. I think I can figure it out, but I’m sure there’s a reason it's supposed to be for emergencies only. On the other hand…”
“If this isn’t an emergency, then what is, hm?” Celeste finished the thought, a clawed finger resting on her chin, her eyes still drilling into Makoto.
For a moment, the pair sat in silence, only disturbed by the simulated ambience coming through the cameras and the sound of machinery all around them.
It was strange how things happened.
When Makoto had first met Celeste, he had only felt deceit and danger coming from her, and had actively feared being left alone with her, lest she somehow manage to talk him out of all of his worldly possession, or worse, into a game of mahjong.
But now, sitting next to her, on the run from what now stood as the government, harboring fugitives on a deserted island and hoping they would survive, he wasn’t sure there was anyone he trusted more.
O-Of course, he trusted all of his friends from Class 78! No doubt about that! Mondo had sworn to protect him more than once, and Sakura had been ready to lay her own life down to save them all. Hiro might act like a doofus, but even now, he worked at the heart of Future Foundation to help them, and though Kyoko might act cold, he knew that she cared for all of them deep down.
Though she might’ve not trusted him as he trusted her in the past, it was the past, truthfully. Kyoko had changed, and seen the error of her ways. Even now, she was trusting them with this project, when all of their lives may very well lie in the balance.
But still, sitting here with Celeste, he felt, at peace, almost.
As if anything was possible.
Even beating Junko for a second time, and stopping a tragedy from repeating itself.
Makoto took another deep breath. “Thanks for volunteering to stay with me here, Celeste.”
The girl’s pale face split into a smile. “Well, if you do feel so grateful, maybe you’d like to pay me back~”
Makoto’s face exploded into a blush as Celeste teased him, again, and he turned away from her to instead focus on the monitor.
Another round of camera checks told Makoto that all of Class 77 was sleeping in bed. Which was normal, of course. The simulated time matched the time on the real island, and it was approaching- wow, two in the morning?
Well, Makoto had been very busy thus far, of course, but still.
He swallowed a yawn and blinked, hard.
“Are you planning to stay here all night?” Celeste asked, only half-surprised.
“Well, night time is dangerous, right? You’re the one who introduced the night time rule, Celeste.” Makoto said, but Celeste only rolled her eyes.
“Of course you are. What, are you planning to stay awake forever?”
Makoto looked away. “Of course not, but…”
But Makoto simply didn’t know when to leave. What if the moment he abandoned his vigil something happened? Should he sleep when the students went to bed? But that would also be when they were at their most vulnerable, wasn't it? Should he sleep during the day then? But that didn't seem right either, wouldn't that be when most of them were out and about?
“You are ridiculous, Makoto. The worst possible outcome is you falling asleep unexpectedly.”
“No, the worst possible outcome is me failing these people and letting the Killing Game start again.” Makoto snapped, only to immediately regret his harsher tone.
For a moment, a more uncomfortable silence reigned in the operating room, and Makoto felt as if he had something stuck in his throat, at least until Celeste stood up, and laid her hand on his shoulder.
“Go to sleep, Makoto. No one will make a move so soon. We can arrange a schedule tomorrow, and make sure one of us is always watching in the future.” Celeste said softly, and Makoto felt his unknowingly tense shoulders sagging.
He wanted to try and justify staying up, but he was cut off by another yawn, making Celeste giggle.
“As usual, your body is incredibly honest~” Celeste said, and Makoto felt a blush rise to his cheeks as her fingers rolled on his shoulder for a moment, before pulling at him lightly. “Come on. Walk me to my room, hm? You’d be a failure of a knight to not escort your lady.”
Makoto couldn’t stop his tired chuckle. “Alright, alright. I’m coming.”
As Makoto stood up, he couldn’t help but agree with his earlier thought.
He really was glad Celeste was here with him.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They'd won, but it sometimes didn’t feel that way. He bore the pain of ten lives lost, the grief that came from losing them. Though unlike his fellow survivors, he even mourned the final loss of their game. For as much wrong as she did, he had wished, still did in many ways, that he could have saved Junko from her own pit of despair.
Her laugh, even if it sounded hollow, the proclamation that despair made Junko everything she was, all before she sealed her own fate. She'd never given him the chance to argue against it, and sometimes he chose to believe it was that she knew he would have succeeded. Makoto never had that chance, and she put herself through a gauntlet of despair, every execution she ever inflicted on their classmates, all in one bundle for her to face.
Yes, even her death hung heavy upon him, though not the heaviest of their losses, not nearly the heaviest.
When Mukuro took Byakuya's life, it pained him the same way. He'd never managed to break through Byakuya's shell, not as much as he wanted. He'd never really known who Mukuro truly was, but he always saw glimpses of the true girl buried beneath the disguise she wore.
She'd told him once she held out hope that he would stop Junko, though she never said her name, she never had the chance before she was dragged away to her own punishment. He still couldn't understand why she chose Byakuya as her victim, what of his demeanor screamed a traitor even Mukuro didn't know of.
He always blamed himself though, like Mukuro was protecting him from Byakuya's consistently cruel comments. Every time they visited him at night they didn't hesitate to remind him of that.
Makoto would never claim they were alone, they all blamed him, just as much as he did. Kiyotaka, Hifumi, Leon, they visited on occasion, not as much as the others, not that he felt the bitter sting of their loss any less.
He should have noticed the way Hifumi was breaking down, the longer they stayed, the lessening grip on reality. Yet he didn't, he spent less time with Hifumi than any other member of his class, and that was something he could have, no should have changed.
As Hifumi broke down, his reality became incomprehensible, a merge of his stories, his adoration of all things 2D, and utter despair of not having his crutch. He supposed Alter Ego had been the boy's tipping point, nobody there to ground him, he fell into the trap of viewing Alter Ego as a living, breathing person, and refused to let go.
Asahina suggesting they use the AI, sophisticated as it was to break down Monokuma, was the final nail in both of their coffins. She had become a threat to the only thing keeping Hifumi's fragile hold on his own sanity, and it took more than just the pair down with him. Kiyotaka was just an unfortunate accident to make everything worse.
Long after Asahina had lost her life, after Hifumi had bloodied his hands, Kiyotaka found him. If Makoto had known, if he had been there to stop him, he'd still be here. He could have stopped their fight, talked them down, Hifumi would never have fallen, and Kiyotaka wouldn't have faced execution.
The moral compass that man possessed would never have allowed him to let it lie. A simple confrontation to stop Hifumi from doing what he didn't know had already been done. It was far too late, and Hifumi was far too gone.
Makoto may not know exactly how it happened, but he certainly knew the outcome, a single fall down a staircase, the wrong landing on a bannister, and an execution of a man who hadn't intended any harm. Three lives lost because he wasn't there when he needed to be.
Toko was always the one who found humor in that, despite Makoto finding none. She always found the death of a friend funny, well not Toko precisely. Her crippling case of a split personality found twisted enjoyment in it, or Makoto imagined she did. Her hands weren't clean of blood, and she didn't think twice about reminding him that he had stained his own with hers.
If he had just been more understanding, pushed harder for Chihiro to trust him. If he had just truly befriended the scared boy, she never would have had such an easy target. If he had been able to show that their secrets were always safe, Toko would never have sunk into herself further than ever, her other self never would have been let free.
Toko finding out that her perfect prey was right in front of her, no longer in control? It was a spark in the powder keg, and she was never coming back from the explosion that ensued. No, he had failed them, and they paid the ultimate price for it.
Yet still, they never hurt the worst, no they never could. While he had believed he could have done more, he knew that in truth, it was always a pipe dream. Blaming himself for what was mostly out of his control.
They weren't. That was his failure, the trump card of his nightmares. Whenever he saw that fiery red hair, or heard that sickeningly sweet laugh, that was when it hurt the most. Why shouldn't it? It was the first of his many failures, but more than that it was the only one that he knew he could have done more.
Yes, Sayaka Maizono was his biggest regret, his biggest failure, his most painful memory. The videos were such a simple motive, yet they were the most effective. He remembered it clear as day, holding her in his arms as she shed every tear she could, and he didn't even say anything that made it better, not truly.
Yet he didn't pay for that failure, Leon took on that debt.
If Makoto had stayed with Sayaka that night, neither of them would have been hurt, they'd be safe. He knew she was scared and he left her, yet that wasn't what truly sealed their fates.
No, it was still Sayaka's plan. He believed he'd helped her, but he should have known better. He should have known from the way she spoke that she was lying to him. Of course he didn't, he was too blind to the truth, he cared too much, trusted with too much, and left as she had asked.
Their fate was that which haunted him the most. The ring of a doorbell, a plan set in motion, a shower to dread cleansing himself in.
He could never truly know what happened that night. He could deduce, extrapolate, hope, imagine, fear- but never really know.
Still, he’d seen the scene in his nightmares so frequently he could almost believe it was undeniable truth.
Sayaka’s fear, her guilt, her resolve as she played him for a fool, planning to make him take the fall for him.
Was it relief she felt when Makoto agreed to switch rooms? Or maybe resignation?
And when she wrote those words, invited Leon to his room- did she know she was starting the Killing Game? Did she care?
She could’ve stopped there, couldn’t she? Could’ve tore the letter to shreds and flushed it down the toilet in the morning, and no one would’ve known.
Or maybe the moment she began writing, she had already chosen her path.
Maybe it was the moment she met Makoto deep into the night.
Maybe it was the moment the Killing Game rules were announced.
Makoto couldn’t know. He would never be able to know. That was the cruel finality of death.
Still, the thoughts haunted him, and nightmares regarding Sayaka, not to mention all of his other friends plagued him.
But this wasn’t a nightmare.
This was reality.
A cruel trick, a tragedy repeating itself right in front of his eyes.
Makoto stared unseeingly at the monitor as Nagito walked away from the Ultimate Impostor’s cabin, having just slipped a note under his door, an hour before the morning announcement.
His fingers felt numb as he gripped the desk in front of him like a buoy, the only thing stopping him from falling off his chair and drowning in a sea of despair.
“Makoto. Breathe.” Celeste said next to him, her hand digging into the flesh of his arm, and Makoto’s lungs felt like they would explode as he breathed in shakily.
“Wh-What-” Makoto’s voice broke for a moment, and he cleared his throat. “What does the letter say?”
Celeste paused for a moment, hesitating, before navigating the cameras, though her hand never left him, for which he was thankful. He needed the anchor, desperately.
Celeste found the Impostor’s room camera, and paused again.
“Celeste?”
She grit her teeth.
“‘Be careful. The first kill will happen tonight. Someone will definitely kill someone.’”
Makoto could almost smell the faint smell of lavender in the air, and for a moment, he was back on those trial grounds, listening to Kyoko explain Sayaka’s plan.
Celeste’s nails bit into his flesh through his suit.
No. No, he couldn’t allow this to happen.
Numbly, he navigated the drives, and found the Pacification Program folder once more, only to pause when Celeste pulled at him.
His eyes met hers, only to come face-to-face with her full trust, and Makoto couldn’t help but relax, just a little bit.
She didn’t say anything. Only nodded, once, seriously, which Makoto returned, first tiredly, but then resolved.
No, he would stop this Killing Game from starting. He had to.
His free hand left the desk, and instead settled on Celeste’s own hand, feeling her cold fingers under his.
“I can't let this happen.” She hadn't questioned him, but he provided an answer anyway.
“I would never suggest you did, I know better than that. Always the noble knight.” Her soft tone was a warming comfort he needed, even if only a few words.
With a tightened determination settling in his chest, he drew his eyes back to the computer screen. The debate they could have had about this decision was solved before it ever truly began.
He wouldn’t allow Nagito to kickstart the Killing Game. He wouldn’t allow anyone to do so.
And when he opened the Pacification Program, it was with resolve and hope bolstering his heart.

DR. GERO'S ATTEMPT TO RECREATE HIS FAMILY
Tumblr media
(This has been in my drafts since June 25th 2022. 😅 I hope you enjoyed it & sorry if I over explain things. I'm trying to do that less often.)
The Red Ribbon Army took photo ID of Gero, Vomi, & Gevo. The photos on file appear to be around a time before their death, relaying that Vomi & Gevo passed away when they were relatively young. And Gero loved his family so much so that his goal was to bring them back through science & technology. Oddly enough... you kinda feel sorry for Dr. Gero.
Key word, "kinda." You cannot forget that he conducted inhumane experiments on two kidnapped teens for many years until they forgot their names and were turned into living weapons with bombs in their chest. Gero's a evil sick bastard. But, even evil ppl can love their own family.
GEVO; ANDROID 16'S TEMPLATE
Tumblr media
Dr. Gero modeled Android 16 after his late son, Gevo. He was part of Gero's experiment to see if he could recreate his family. And #16 is a completely mechanical android made to be extremely powerful & was by far the strongest of the numbered Artificial Humans that Gero created.
When #17 & #18 wanted to release #16, Gero said that #16 was so dangerous that he would destroy the world, so he deemed him a failure. But, #18 finds it interesting that Gero kept this extremely dangerous "failure" around when Gero destroyed all the other failures prior to #16. Then, Gero stutters & makes up more excuses. This makes you wonder why did Gero keep #16 around. 🤔
Tumblr media
In a Q&A that is now common knowledge, Toriyama revealed that #16 is modeled after Dr. Gero's son. Then, Toriyama explained that Gero did not want the mechanical recreation of his son to be destroyed in battle, so he gave him a gentle personality. This gentle personality resulted in #16 being deemed a failure & Gero had him placed in a special chamber for safe keeping.
Tumblr media
[Link to the Q&A here.]
But, why did Gero install a bomb inside a robot replica of his son? Because Gero placed explosive devices in all the artificial humans that he made. It was a safety precaution to assure that his creations/weapons would not turn against him or fall into the enemy's hand. The bombs were also be used as a last resort against an enemy that is too powerful.
I find it amazing that Gero gave the fully mechanical #16 his own unique personality & made him sentient. In a sense #16 was a living machine. Gero was an extremely intelligent guy to be able to create artificial consciousness.
GERO; MECHANIZED HIMSELF
Tumblr media
Dr. Gero also decided to turn himself into a cyborg in the present timeline because he desired eternal life, becoming #20.
Tumblr media
(Its unknown if Future Gero turned himself into a cyborg because it is not shown in the manga. But, the filler sections of the anime depict him as a cyborg.)
Gero wanted to live forever in a world ruled by the Red Ribbon Army, and he wanted to do so alongside his family. Thus, he began recreating them. But, Gero only progressed to creating a robotic replica of his son & mechanizing himself.
VOMI; ANDROID 21'S TEMPLATE
Tumblr media
Vomi is canon to the main DB continuity.
Bio-Android 21 is only canon to the video game continuities. (Specifically FighterZ, but she appears in Xenoverse 2, Dokkan Battle, & DBZ: Kakarot too.)
The creation of #21 was different from converting a human into a cyborg, & far more advance than how #16 was made completely from mechanical parts. Bio-Android 21 was an absorption-type created by Gero's computer in a similar way that Cell was, but modeled after his late wife. #21 was created from the combined DNA of highly intelligent humans as well as the strongest humans. But, Gero's computer also added cells from Majin Buu for more strength, resulting in her Majin 21 forms.
Perhaps bio-androids like Cell were the next step in Gero's plan to recreate his family while creating himself a new bio-organic body after his cybernetic one.
THE IRONY...
Tumblr media
Vomi & Gevo were not a good people (that we know of) & both worked for the Red Ribbon Army. Ironically, the artificial human versions of themselves ended up being good people. Dr. Gero's immediate family were evil ppl. Except for his other son...
- THE UNNAMED SON -
Tumblr media
Although he had another son, Gero did not have a close relationship with him. His unnamed son resented his father and the Red Ribbon Army & disassociated himself from his father.
It is mentioned in DBS: Super Hero that the parents of the 24 yr old Dr. Hedo had died when Hedo was young. And Hedo was 7 yrs old when his grandfather, Dr. Gero, was killed by #17. This indicates that Hedo's parents may have died shortly after the Cell Saga. Meaning, Dr. Gero did not recreate his other son because Gero was killed before his other son passed away. And because of their strained relationship, Gero may not have even recreated this son if given the opportunity.
AN INTERESTING DETAIL + SPECULATION
Tumblr media
Gero: A pun on the Japanese word for "vomit."
Vomi: A pun on the English word "vomit."
Gevo: This name is interesting. It combines the "ge" & "vo" of his parents' names, and Gevo's name pun is still on a Japanese phrase for "vomiting."
Hedo: Yet another "vomit" name pun. But, this one references the word "反吐" which is "anti-vomiting" medicine.
Haku?🤔: If ever revealed, perhaps this will be the name of Gero's other son. The kanji for Haku is "吐" & also means "vomit." And what makes this theory of mine interesting is that Hedo's name pun consists of this character, but in front of it is the kanji "反" that means "anti." If Haku is the name, then the father's name is within the name of his son.

I know you're pretty busy with requests so no pressure on answering this ask quickly, with that said, do you know any games about time traveling? I know about Time To Drop but it's more of time loop game than a time travel. Anyway, thanks for the good work!
THEME: Time Travel
Thank you for your patience! Here are some games that I've seen that focus on time travel.

Chrono-Illogical, by thebigtabletop.
Far in the ruined future, desperate scientists searched for a way to fix their ruined civilization. They discovered an imperfect form of time travel. Points in the past could be identified as instances in the timeline that had become corrupted. The problem was they could not send one of their own. Scientists could only send random individuals from the past in an attempt to uncover and fix the problem. This process of sending unknown travellers to solve a problem they know nothing about in an unfamiliar time became known as Chrono Illogical. The risks are high but this process was the only hope to save the future and restore the past.
Chrono Illogical is an 18 card, tabletop roleplaying game about unwilling time travelers, sent to a random time to fix a problem they know nothing about, and trying not to mess up the time line further before they can return home. If you are a person who likes weird, interesting, and unique TTRPGs, then you will enjoy Chrono Illogical. The mechanics use a twist on the Powered by the Apocalypse where the 7-9 result on your 2d6 is the perfect result. Roll too low and you start to reveal that you are from a different time. Roll too high and you raise suspicions potentially endangering the time line.
This game does not require a GM, as the cards placed in the middle of the table act as prompts, asking questions about the city you’ve ended up in and the time travellers who are doing whatever they can to get back home. This game is for tables with creative players who can fill in the gaps and build on the fiction that has already been established. If you want dangerous time travel that will likely spark more questions than answers, this game is worth checking out.
24XX Chronicle, by Dice Ghosts.
WELCOME TO THE PAST: The Foundation sent your team back to avert disaster but you're not the only ones to make the jump. This time period is young and naive to the destruction that will befall it and it's up to Jumpers like you to see that the end of the world never comes to pass.
Take the leap as a team of post-apocalyptic survivors that have been sent back in time to prevent the end of the world. You will need to work together, using your unique skills, augmentations, and knowledge of the past, to change the timeline and prevent the event that wipes out humanity.
If you like roll tables, roll tables, and more roll tables, you’ll probably like this game.Characters can roll for their name, cover, memento, and personal reason for jumping back in time. The group can roll for reasons the world ends, and the GM can roll for missions, locations, obstacles, and a twist! The game itself runs like any standard 24XX game - resources are finite, skills increase your chances of success, and creative, non-combative solutions to problems are rewarded. If you’re a fan of OSR games, you might find some common ground in 24XX Chronicle.
Substitution, by Harper Jay (Chubby Crow Games).
Well before you were born, the world ended. While there is no one thing that signified the end of days, archivists agree that the "Year the World Ended" was 2324. Disease, wars, and natural disasters destroyed civilization as we know it, driving people into tunnels and underground bunkers. Most of these pocket cities fell apart due to illness and infighting, leaving only a few dozen remnants of humanity left.
But that hasn’t happened yet.
The greatest scientific minds of the early 25th century formed the Substitution Initiative. Substitution technology allows a mind to be uploaded into a quantum computer and sent back in time to permanently override an individual's mind in the past. To stay under the radar, Substitutes inhabit the bodies of people that had a low impact on the world. They receive text messages from the future via the same quantum computer that transported them. These texts contain their orders, which are missions to carry out that will ideally change the timeline enough to save the future.
Substitution is a Breathless game in which players are tasked with saving the world from itself by undergoing critical missions. Your characters will receive skill advancements and tools that they can use as resources for solving problems based on their vocation. Together, you decide which year between 2002 and 2034 you are being sent back to. Keep in mind that this game isn’t just about completing a mission - it’s also about being able to pass as the person whose body you’re inhabiting.
Mage Against the Machine, by Jordan Palmer.
In Mage Against The Machine you take on the roll of time-travelling wizards attempting to stop the robot apocalypse. You will travel back to the moments in your lives you have the most connection to in the hopes of finding the events that set in motion the destruction of civilization. But meddling with reality comes at a cost. Each time you use your magic to alter the world you generate anomalies, push too hard and the things you care about most may no longer exist in the present.
Players will create their character by giving them a defining memory they are able to travel back to. Unlike many other games, Mage Against The Machine doesn't use a GM. Instead the player whose moment it is fills in all the details; this player is also unable to take any direct action to alter the timeline or risk catastrophic destruction. Each player will get a chance to take on the role of answering the other players' questions as you visit that moment.
You’ll also generate anomalies whenever you try to use magic to fix a problem. This represents how your meddling changes more than one event in time, and your characters will have to think on their feet in order to resolve all of their memories. The more anomalies you create, the more likely it is that your memories themselves will change. If you want a game that can contain both ridiculous hi-jinx and emotional depth, Mage Against the Machine might be for you!
Paradox Perfect, by Taycvet.
The improv comedy sci-fi TTRPG of absolute absurdity and chronological chaos! Generate a bizarre utopian future, role-play even stranger time-travelers to defend it, and embark on an adventure through history to save the timeline from alteration - before your past, present, and future change along with it!
Instead of changing the past, Paradox Perfect instead focuses on preserving the past. The table creates the future world together or chooses from a pre-determined template, using a mad-libs style generator. Your characters will have three stats, called Mind, Body, and Fitness, which they can use to determine what pool of d6s they’ll use to attempt risky actions. There’s also a player resource called Resolve, which you can gain throughout play and spend to pause time, re-try something, and hold onto your memories! If you want a game of chaos, time paradoxes, and ridiculous settings, this is the game for you.
Retrocausality, by Weird Age Games.
Retrocausality is a tabletop RPG about time travel adventures, in the vein of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure or Back to the Future.
It uses a rules-light, card-based system that lets you decide how time travel works. Whether you have a specific movie you want to emulate, you have Opinions on the Novikov self-consistency principle, or you prefer not to ask too many questions, Retrocausalitycan make it happen. Even better, the rules are so light you can use Retrocausality to run a time travel adventure in a different game. That's twice as much game!
The basic aim of a card draw is to either meet a suit or a number depending on whether you are time-traveling or doing something else. When you enter a conflict, you can choose to navigate it round-by-round, or abstract it out to determine the outcome of the fight. You can even use time-travel to go back in time to win a conflict! Since the rules are so light, you can decide whether you’re magical time-wizards, young teens with an unstable machine, a time-travelling alien bringing their companions along for the ride, or something else altogether. If you don’t know where to start, there are also pre-generated characters and a pre-designed setting for you to have fun with.

So for the « send me a character ask game » what about our dear Rya hm?
Oh and what about Damian too?
(From this ( x ) ask meme)
- For Rya
First impression: Was first introduced to her via fanart and plenty of spoilers, I thought she was adorable x) Both as a woman and as a snake!
Impression now: Still, not much to say about her, she is just a really cute snake girl! It is one of those characters with whom there is not much to do besides memes and fanart with them in wholesome situations! However, I have even more positive opinion on her now that I know she is one of very few characters who were able to bounce back from mental defeat and be optimistic and hopeful about their future! Really rare mindset in Elden Ring's broken, despair-ridden world!
Favorite moment: Ahahaha when we discover her as a snake xD She forgot to put on her human suit, this is so precious xddd
Idea for a story: Anything you can think up about her and Patches meeting again, after Volcano Manor cringed and failed. This might be awkward as Patches is like, moving on, so meeting someone so close tied with Volcano Manor and Tanith can be... a bit of heavy, to say so. But at the same time if they get through the tension, they could become basically best friends. Or they could build father/daughter-alike bond! I also saw a ship which is valid too (let's be real, Patches had 0 chances with Tanith from the start, and there was... well, just nothing.)
Unpopular opinion: ANOTHER character with whom there are no opinions in the community besides 'I just think they're neat' to BEGIN with, so I can't answer much xD
Tumblr media
Favorite relationship: She and her mother! This is such a sweet familial bond, holy shit. Tanith is absolutely in the right loving Rya so much, it is that one time when lack of blood relation didn't change anything about the family at all. True family bond is emotional and spiritual, and Rya is even inspired to carry on as her successor. Elden Ring spoiled us with too much wholesomeness for a Soulsborne game, especially the familial one!
Favorite headcanon: Not really a headcanon, but rather a logical conclusion. I LOVE seeing her E L O N G A T E D in fanart, like how other serpents can do that xD It makes the most sense that she is able to do that too in her serpent form x)
- For Damian
First impression: When I first saw Kris summon him for help on the stream, I mistook him (and summon dynamics in general) for one of those random-generated NPCs; some videogames do that! So at first I neglected him, in fact I was a little negative, and so it stayed until Val was the one to open my eyes on the fact that summons are unique and real characters...
Impression now: He is absolutely adorable, he looks like a sage but also like a male grandma (don't confuse with a grandpa xD), he is extremely interesting because without dialogue, he tells quite a story with his equipment and summon areas! Just... just peak performance of nonverbal storytelling, like Henriett. I currently do see him as sort of a 'dad' figure for other scholars, since my age headcanons for him moved a bit further, when I used to think of him as the same age as Mico, Laurence and Caryll back then. But like, he is COOL, you know? Both clearly very intelligent AND can kick asses of literal gods. x)
Favorite moment: When he arrives to "help" us with Rom after we died already HAHAHAHAHA! Thanks for help, asshole!!!
Tumblr media
Idea for a story: His dives in the Isz dungeons sound like a plan! With other Tomb Prospectors! Especially Gremia - another summon in that area! Many people have been noticing that Gremia fights especially aggressively and doesn't step away and heals all that much, and he is also the only summon that can sprint. Paired with the fact that he doesn't have Loch Shield, which WAS given to Isz Prospectors.... Well, perhaps he doesn't value his safety at ALL. Damian, on the other hand, has a shield, a long range weapon, a healing bell, and three long range attack tools. They are opposites, doing the same job! I think it'd make a cool slice of life fanfic - Damian and Gremia being a fun (dys)functional duo of explorers, just deeply resenting each other but also saving each others' asses by balancing one another out!
Unpopular opinion: He is still alive when we summon him, he is in Byrgenwerth and grew hostile with his friend Julie/Yurie, he did not die and we just summon his spirit ;-; Please I just KNOW it, Damian is ALIVE in the game' events ;-;
Tumblr media
Favorite relationship: I love him and Micolash so much <3 If only Edgar x Micolash did not take the spot of my OTP, that'd be Damian and Micolash <3 But Damian to Micolash is what Julie is to Rom, or what Brador is to Laurence, for that matter. Except, unlike other two "sidekicks", Damian would be the more reasonable one to detract, seeing they can't help their loved person out of spiralling insanity... But they were close for a long while, and I am dwelling on that period, a lot.
Favorite headcanon: I actually stealeded it from Saintmic and it is mine now: Damian was sort of biology professor, whose research and knowledge came up very handy to study phantasms and other weird creatures Byrgenwerth found. And he had a vivarium full of creatures, that Rom loved to find more abominations for xd It is an interpretation mistake of Damian being late for the battle because of a glitch since Henryk and Madaras Twin do that too, but I started to think 'lol he is late for battle because he is afraid of spiders' and it stuck... Sooooo he is not so happy when Rom brings him cool giant spider she found xD

Thank you for the ask!! Really unusual characters this time

Your head cannons, hand em over 🧲🕵️🌻🧠
Since I’m trying to distract myself from the potential implosion of the fruits of a month long labor, I’ll answer some asks….
🧲 - Truthfully I was hoping someone would ask me this…. This might be a long one. So just by default, we can see that P03 is a CRT monitor boi. UuU these were the relics we used in our computer labs in elementary school thousands of years ago…. In the 90s…. However CRT computer monitors have been around since their invention in the 70’s. In the 90’s CRTs and pretty much everything else was framed in plastic. But the shine on P03’s grungy metal exterior tells us he’s probably based on more of a mid 80s model. But what cinches it, is the little d-pad on his cheek.
Tumblr media
This cute thing 🔝
The D-pad is an invention of the 80s. So I imagine most of his inner workings must follow that ‘futuristic 80’s tech design’ look. What I mean by that is, imagine technology is what it is today, but with an 80’s filter over it. Like the setting in Alien Isolation if any of ya’ll played the game. So his internals must all be made of things one could find in an 80s computer factory…. More or less…. His hovering unit I would assume is powered in one of three ways. Smaller and less harmful versions of EMPs, magnetic repel, or ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ‘science magic.’ And while that last one sounds like a cop out, I wanna bring something else to your attention. It’s been stated time and time again that the OLD_DATA is responsible for giving these characters awareness and true sentience. So perhaps all the scrybes have some of it at their center. The spark that provided their souls. P03’s would just be the most literal of all since he’s a computer in a computer. So you can think of it as the magical science glue holding him together. I feel like the OLD_DATA would interface with him in a way that’s far more unique than the other scrybes…. But I think I’m getting off topic. TLDR; He’s made of late 80s computer scrap and obsolete future tech/evil game code magic. ;)
🕵️ - I think right now P03 is simply existing as sentient data…. I mean, he was before. Everyone in the game technically is. But in the ARG you can see Stoat P03 in code form wink at you. Interestingly, and I didn’t know this, if you go on the Inscryption site and look in the notepad, he’s in there too!! Alerting the player to open the game https://www.inscryption.com/desktop The only difference between than and now is he uploaded the Great Transcendence and was given a bunch of user rights. Mostly I think getting access to the internet was the problem. Maybe now he can go about the web ordering stuff on behalf of a dead Luke Carder, using his information so he can gain access to things in our world later on? So, really chya boi is floating around the internet, with a strong possibility of being attached to Steam since that’s where he was uploading his files to…. I could branch onto another topic on how P03’s motivations never really made a lot of sense to me, but this is runnin hella long already.
🌻 - SECRET SOFTIE!!!! Obviously you can’t just be ANYBODY. You have to be…. (͠≖ ͜ʖ͠≖) In the KN03! Someone he would explicitly trust showing that side to. And even than, it wouldn’t be a stark change. Let me set the scene….
You pass out exhausted in your clothes from work, drooling on a stiff pillow with your Switch going slack in your hands. You’d fallen asleep playing Inscryption again. Shocker. Since P03 was making repairs to the factory’s Prized Particle Scanner, he couldn’t spare a moment to pause. It was his tool of inscryption after all. Integral to the production and progress of what he found worthy to be recorded. It was his duty as a Scrybe to oversee it. You understand of course, and aren’t perturbed. But without the conversation and witty banter that only a proper opponent could provide, the soft grinding of your thumb against the A button repetitively brings your tired eyes to close. It’s the wee hours of the morning now, and the automatic door to the room slides open revealing the Scrybe in question. He can see you’re sound asleep, sprawled out in what appeared to be an uncomfortable position at best.
…. How did you even manage to fall asleep that way any how? It baffles him. He follows the odd bend of your arm to the Switch barely being held upright by your boneless little fingers. Hmm.. Guess you fell asleep with it on. Quietly hovering over, he removes the Switch from the risk of falling from your hands and looks at the dimmed screen. Your cards are on the board and he can’t help the involuntary smirk as he notices your last play. A Stoat…. A Stoat you’ve leveled up to a 4,6 with the maximum sigils allowed overlapping the card’s inky illustration. Briefly he looks back down at your sleeping face…. Your mouth hanging open mid snore. Wordlessly he sets the Switch back on it’s dock to charge, and grabs the jacket you’ve slung over the back of a chair.
He floats back over, face still neutral, but his eyes carrying a mild trace of softness as he returns to your side…. Delicately he places your jacket over your sleeping form, watching silently as you curl up beneath it for warmth… he turns back to the door, taking one last look at you…
….the corner of his stoic upper lip ticks upwards as he stares and morphs into a light smile. A smile no one would see. Not even the cameras could pick it up…
And after that moment he leaves, the automatic door closing behind him.
When you awake the next morning, you try to remember if you fell asleep with your jacket or not…
🧠 - Kind of a two parter here. So remember when P03 brags to his diary notes about his shiny new OP card Plasma Jimmy? A part of me can’t help but think that Plasma Jimmy got special treatment from him. I would absolutely LOVE to see P03 pulling out his card from the deck and into his hand all surprised and internally going “Alright! P.J. !!” XD Like, YOU KNOW HE’D BE THAT KID RIGHT? The one who brings his rare card to school in a shitty top loader showing it off to all your friends and using it to crush them in battle. Ahhhh youth 😌

Eden of the East (EP 6, 9, 10, 11)
The ending makes so much more sense now. I remember starting the show and thought it was a magical girl (boy, in this case) who was a scorned or disowned prince of some distant dimension. But it actually make sense how Takizawa became a prince so he can be a scapegoat.
And, I don't think Mr. Outside is some old [dead] rich guy. I think it's either a computer or a woman. Same for Juiz, part of me also thought it was a bunch of people (women was my guess, but who knows?) who all go by Juiz (if it's genderless, it makes sense) and use a voice changer to sound the same.
The title of the show was surprising, too. I thought Eden of the East refers to what the game's objective is, to turn the "East", or Japan, into an or its own "Eden". The use of English (is "noblesse" English?) in the show is unique. Even the missile scene in the last episode with that song (idk the name but I know I heard it before) even though the setting has been in Japan the whole time is new to me.
So, the truth about the NEETs was quite surprising. I wasn't sure what to think. I knew Takizawa had something to do with them, and the missile attack with 0 casualties definitely was suspicious. But the reveal sounded just like him. I knew he represented the young generation who wished to do something about their future. To think he would represent the power of the hopeful, and he shows it by using society's growing slice of the most useless people and turning them into heroes is incredible. It tells how given the chance and the situation forced upon them, people who are considered and consider themselves useless end up saving Japan. We never know who Juiz really is, but the fact that it is 20,000 unemployed, uneducated people's combined efforts found the solution, not Juiz or a computer for all we know.
I know the other Selecao (the one who actually launched the missiles) is probably another sector of young people representing the hopeless and hated who have been let down by society.
Still, it was cool to watch the effects of work on each new generation. With young people at the forefront of society's expectations, they are expected to do well when they've been set up since the beginning to only do someone else's bidding.
Ironically, the Selecao think they have been cursed to act in society's best interests when technically, everyone has been since they were born. Like the young people, it was not necessarily their fault that their world is the way it is, but by the curse of existing, it becomes their responsibility and their fault if they don't do something. While very, very, very select few have been "chosen" to fix the country with 10 billion yen and a digital genie, in a way, we all have resources that we are supposed to use to help society before society or us dies. Even the NEETs had resources: their phones and their own lives.
Tumblr media
I think he "woke up" naked because, like the Eden club, he had to blend in with the NEETs he shipped off to Dubai so the "zombies" (lol for the club to call them that but we can see these people are certainly not heartless or brain-dead). Or, he was in a blacked-out van and they stripped him right before they brainwashed him and dropped him off in front of the White House to (idk) humiliate him. Or something, like a joke.

I woke up to a few anon messages that came in batches at different times, so I'm not sure if these are all from the same person or a few different people, but I'm just going to answer them all here!
Questions and replies below the cut ↓
Tumblr media
That is absolutely what I would do. I wouldn't even upload sims who use cc to the gallery, especially if the sims team/EA refuses to tell you what about your sims is being flagged as inappropriate by their standards. After a few suspensions and warnings they will go ahead with a permanent ban and from what I've found in my research, they don't seem to have a lot of flexibility to undo a ban once it has been issued, so you're right to play it safe rather than be sorry.
Thank you for saying that, I genuinely appreciate it! I'm so glad you stopped by for help, and that I could be helpful to you in any way. ❤️
Tumblr media
I agree on all fronts! I'm almost positive there will be bugs with this new EP upon release, I just hope they're mild and managable until the Sims team can get out a hotfix. Just hoping the bugs aren't as bad as My Wedding Stories, for instance - that pack was completely unplayable upon release.
I think what we have seen of the build buy items looks really unique and beautiful. I'm always excited to see new traits, although some of them seem so pack-specific that I'm worried how they'll impact gameplay outside of the renter situations. I reblogged a couple isolated screenshots on my page that break down some new potential features - like a rice cooker, standing toilet, marbles and hopscotch for children (new child activities!!! Yay!!), and so on! The world itself seems immersive and different than what we already have and I think the non-American representation has been severely lacking, so it'll *hopefully* be a breath of fresh air.
Somewhat related to this point: the inclusion of a non-American world also gives me hope for the future. I'm still holding out hope for a Spanish inspired world or an African inspired world, but perhaps they'll incorporate one or both in the future. I hate that Selvadorada is a vacation world only!
The negative part of me kind of hates that this feels like "City Living: The Sequel." I'm curious how this will impact the already existent apartment lot types in the game. Hopefully it's different enough to stand on its own, but I just think we should have been able to create apartments all this time. That's the main selling point of this pack for me, and it would seem like that's the shared sentiment in the community as well, so that's unfortunate that we all have to buy/acquire a different pack to implement a feature that could and should have been implemented in another pack. I'm going to withhold judgment until I play though and try to go in with an open mind!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love refreshing the townies, too! It's actually one of the first things I do when I start a new gameplay save because, like you said, a lot of them don't even have hot/cold weather outfits which is... well, it's expected of the lazy ass sims team lol. I'm not surprised. 🤦 But I can't stand seeing townies walk around in the wackiest outfits, especially the townies I really like!
I've always thought the community, by and large, does a better job handling townie refreshes anyway. I think every time the Sims team touches a beloved townie or alters their lore in any way, they fuck it up lmao. I would rather they just leave it to the people who actually care about these sims...😬
Thank you so much for the compliment, that means so much to me! I know it's cliché, but the more you practice making sims, the better you will get and the more you'll start to see your own "style" take shape. One tip I would give is to use real people as a reference: this helps avoid that "same face" syndrome you can get yourself into. They don't have to be perfect and exact to your reference, but you'll find over time that looking at all these different real people will not only diversify your sims, but also your ideas of beauty. You'll start to notice little things about a face that make it different - a bump of the nose, a slant of the eyes, pulled-in corners of the mouth, a cupid's bow arch of the lips versus a perfectly rounded edge. If you go to Pinterest and just look up "Face claims" you will find a never-ending amount of pictures with people of all different facial features, ages, ethnicities, hair textures, etc. Create a board on there - public or private (that's totally up to you) - and save all the faces you think are beautiful, unique, intriguing, etc. It helps me so much, and my sim style has really developed over time just by doing that!
I have to admit... I'm not a particularly fashionable person: I've been dressing pretty much the same way since middle school not gonna lie (think thrift store grandpa in band/graphic t-shirts and leggings exclusively lmao). So I try to think of the kind of personality my sim has first, which helps me pick an aesthetic style I want to go for when it's time to dress them. I'll think of questions like are they more alternative, or are they preppy? Do they dress for comfort or for style? Would they spend a lot of money on their clothes, or do they prioritize simple, affordable, staple pieces? Are they environmentally-conscious, avoiding animal furs/clothes that could be over the top but also made cruelly? Do they have a culture, religion, or belief-system that encourages modesty and head-coverings of some kind? So on and so forth. Then I might look up pictures or just play around until I find a few outfits that feel right. If you need inspo, go to TS4 lookbook tag as well- there's lots of variety and seeing how people pair some cc pieces might help your creative juices flow!
Tumblr media
The Goth family will always have a special place in my heart, first and foremost. Naturally I have to include Erwin Pries (Strangerville GP), my number one silly goose, because he feels like he's mine. I know EA made him and we all have him in our games, but he feels so personal to me. I also love Penny Pizzaz (City Living EP) and the entire Jang family (City Living EP), Sienna Grove and Don Gooseman (Horse Ranch EP), Max Villareal and Lucas Munch (Get Together EP), Bob Pancakes (BG), the Vatore siblings (Vampires GP), Morgyn Ember and L. Faba (ROM GP - sorry Simeon).
Honorable mention to every Wildfangs werewolf and Celene López: I love all of them equally and could not pick a favorite. Another honorable mention to the Behr sisters as well: I don't play with them often, but I love their aesthetic.
Little blurb but this was such a tough question because I had to decipher between the townies I love because I have an attachment to them, versus townies I love because they're done so well by someone else (Gunther Munch by Ai, Hugo and Malcom by tricoufamily, and so on). I feel good about the above list though - I think these are my favorite sims that I play with based on my own attachment and personal headcanons.
Tumblr media
Thank you so much!!! 😊🥰
It genuinely makes my heart happy to think that anyone will find joy in a build that I had joy in making. It's like sharing brain children, collaborating in a way - my build housing someone else's sims, two elements creating one story. Idk if that makes sense, but that's my favorite part of the community... just like, creating together.
I wasn't a good builder either, I found the mechanics really confusing at first, but it's actually become kind of a catharsis for my anxiety and adhd. It keeps me focused and grounded and gives me a task to direct my, at times, directionless energy. I also recommend using floor plan pictures from Pinterest to help practice building as well! I have a whole board of floor plans and exteriors!
Anyway, if this is all my same friend who came to me for help, I'm sorry I wrote you a book lmao! If this is more than one person, I'm also sorry all my answers were long. I am so appreciative when anyone comes to talk in my inbox, I'm so happy that running this account has helped me meet so many wonderful people!
Anyway, I'm probably too sentimental this time of year (lol). I'll wrap it up now.
Byeeeee! ❤️

Promising Solitude
I'll keep this one promise I gave myself long ago after I met you.
You were my game-changer. I honestly wouldn't go beyond this recklessness of mine if it weren't because of you. My whole life ideology was challenged and changed by you—something way too early to happen.
I guess I must thank you for that opportunity, for opening up my mind to something I've long turned a blind on, for making me feel that it can happen, that it should happen, and that I would be happy with you when that happens.
Just the thought of solitude was okay for me, but I didn't think dreaming with you, planning out my future for you—with you, would be much better than aiming for solitude. I was fixated on the idea of being alone, so even if a quite few men crossed my path, my grounds were solid.
But you were ethereal, a poison, a delicacy, a sharp knife. I was enticed by your being, that I left everything I had just to have a touch of you. And maybe, it was a grave mistake—to take on pills I didn't know the effect, the damage that may cost my entirety.
And so you did; you are the only person in my life that people see as a mistake, but I would never. You are the pill that kept me going, the one who gave me serotonin when I needed one. I relied on you the most because I probably couldn't live without you.
I was never like that—I never hung on a pill like I'm on the verge of death, but you made your way to make me like that. So you are unique in its own good way; you are something that changed the course of my life drastically. I'm happy with that really; I'm glad it happened.
I'm glad we met. The memories we made are once in a lifetime; it was golden, a rush of feelings. But all was worth it, at least for me.
I'm thankful for everything that happened, for giving me a chance to make new memories, for something to look back on.
And now, even if the sprout died and didn't have its chance to grow like a sturdy tall tree, at least it had the chance to live and see the sun sets and the moon glows.
We could just plant more, try more, to make even just one sprout to make its way to last long and stand tall.
I believe you can, may it be with me or with someone else; I know you'll be growing your own sprout somewhere in this world. I trust you can do it wholeheartedly with happiness.
As for me, that's the thing I can't do anything about; the promise I kept to myself.
You were my last sprout, and I'm hoping that it forever will be. Not that I still hope for our love to blossom once again; rather, I'm going back to what I was. To those ideologies, I turned my back against because of you.
I'll find solitude, and I hope I can.
The promise I made was never to love someone else other than you. that even if we won't work out, I won't find any other love because I gave it all to you. And now that I don't have any, I'll return to my old self. Working to have love for myself—to finally have solitude.
