Big old TS!Underswap thoughtpost. Spoiler free :p
PROS
Tumblr media
* It's really visually striking in almost every sense of the term. The areas are beautifully colored and the characters are all so well designed and the spritework is pretty fantastic. So many little character animations that bring the game to life. I like that the overworld sprites try to replicate the battle sprites, as opposed to the original Undertale that scaled down their designs into little low-pixel chibi things. It gives TS!US it's own visual identity which I appreciate.
* CHARACTER WRITING!!! Oh my god. The character writing. Oh my god? Probably the most in character Undertale fangame I've ever seen. Everything from the character interactions to the dialogue down to the humor feels like something Toby would authentically write. You'd think swapping everyone's roles around would make it difficult to keep the characters... in character, but actually it's astoundingly good. Toriel and Asgore have the same motives, but the difference here is that Asgore was banished to the ruins after waging war on humanity. Sans is a pretend superhero in a big old PR thing orchestrated by Papyrus. It's awesome. I give huge props to the character writing for those last two specifically. It works. You'd think an Underswap fangame would be horribly OOC but actually. It just works. it all works so well.
* Character writing+. There are loads of new characters that actually feel like monsters that could exist in the original game. There are two cartoon henchmen named Larry and Harry that are rivals to Crossbones and they are my absolute favorite of the new characters added. So many loveable characters here (which makes the No Mercy run all the more difficult... so props to TS.)
* Game mechanics. Lots of new game mechanics added. There's a journal that keeps track of the monsters you've encountered and how you've dealt with them, plus a collectibles menu and even a quest system. (The quests seem to be integrated into the morality system which is a really cool spin on the morality system of the original Undertale; the game even commends you for going out of your way to complete quests instead of barreling through areas! It makes me wonder how much of the "control" aspect is at play here.)
* The Human. The human has a lot of little character quirks and dialogue and animations that really make them such an endearing protagonist. I could talk about this character all day. Chara fans will love this one.
* Character writing. Mentioning it again. So good. Really good characters. Oh my god
Tumblr media
CONS
* I dont even know
*
* The music is good but it's just kind of "good" when the rest of the game is so much more polished. I feel like there could be more... instruments in a lot of the songs. I don't know, I'm sure they were trying to replicate the chiptune style of Undertale music, but if they went through the trouble if changing up the art style then I'm not sure why they couldn't put a spin on the music style also, it kind of clashes with the theme. A very small complaint though. Muffet's battle music is so so catchy it's been stuck in my head.
* I dont know what else
* The No Mercy run is scary and it made me scared :scared:
* Sans is sidelined for this mysterious masked superhero guy named Crossbones?? Why'd they even bother putting Sans in the game. And who is this enigmatic Crossbones fellow...
* for real though i have very little complaints here its so so polished. Please please please play TS!IUnderswap i will dedicate the rest of my life trying to convince everyone to play it. It currently goes up to this universe's version of Waterfall but there's about 6 or 7 hours worth of content here already.

Who has control when? Undertale/ Deltarune meta
Undertale and Deltarune play around with the relationship between the Player and the Player Character (PC). There's Kris, who has their own personality and can disapprove of actions the Player forces them to do, and in Undertale there's 3 people attached to the PC who could control at any one time.
So here are my thoughts trying to parse out clearly who has control when.
The Player
The Player. What are their motivations? What have they done? Are they evil? These are nonsense questions because the player is not a character, the player is a role.
The player is me; the player is you; the player is everyone who has ever played these games. When you boot up Undertale or Deltarune, you take on the role of the player. Is the player evil? I don't know, are you? We cannot talk about the player in theories or metas without acknowledging that the player is us.
(Which is why it's confusing and irksome when I see analyses that treat "the player" as if they are a character who definitely did certain things.)
So when playing Undertale or Deltarune, what do you have control over? On desktop, you can use the arrow keys on your keyboard to make the player character move, move the red soul in battle, and navigate menus. You can press C to open the menu, X to exit the menu (and in Deltarune you can hold X to walk faster), and press Z to select options and interact with objects.
You can save the game, reload a save, reset, close the game, and open the game.
You may be thinking those are just the controls, and yes, they are. I mean, what else did you expect? The choices we make while playing are on us.
There are times when we do not have control. For example, we don't have control in cutscenes. We don't have control of Susie during sections when we're focusing on her (tho we do have dialogue options and choices that do nothing).
Then there's the ending of Deltarune chapter 1, where the red soul is separated from Kris's body. If you try to move around, you'll see that the red soul does move, suggesting that our control of the player character is dependent on the red soul inside them.
Frisk/Kris
And now the player character, the PC, the player avatar. I feel these two have a similar level of control over their own bodies when you're involved.
(As a note, when I refer to "the player character" I'm referring to what Frisk/Kris's body does, not what they choose to make it do.)
They have control during cutscenes and have control when the red soul is separated from their body like at the end of the Deltarune chapters. (No, I'm not entertaining theories about Kris is being controlled by someone else when they're in shambling zombie mode.)
They also control how they interact with things. You can press Z to make them interact with things, but they have discretion over how that command is interpreted. (See: Kris refusing to look in the Asriel room in Queen's castle.)
Both are "silent" protagonists. Their speech is limited to dialogue options chosen by us, and we are not privy to anything else they say. If they say something we didn't tell them to say, we have to infer from the dialogue of others. (For example, Frisk telling Asriel that their name is Frisk.)
However, there's a key difference between Frisk and Kris.
Frisk doesn't show a lot of personality, and what personality they show depends a lot of what you do. They basically turn into the person that matches your choices, the person we mold them into. (See: how the narration of interacting with Mad Dummy before the fight changes depending on your LOVE)
(That narration is actually quite interesting. Not only does the narration about Frisk's thoughts change, "You feel bad [for tapping the dummy]" at LV 1 vs "[punch the dummy] Feels good" at LV8 or more, but also the actions. How the player character interacts with objects depends on LOVE, number of people killed, and the route.)
We know that Chara climbed the mountain, and it wasn't for a happy reason. In fact, it's very likely they were planning on committing suicide. Frisk and all the other children who fall into the underground are likely from the same settlement.
I wouldn't be surprised if Frisk was also planning on dying there.
If you heckle Snowdrake, there's a chance you'll get this line:
You tell the Snowdrake that no one will ever love them the way they are... | They struggle to make a retort, and slink away utterly crushed
Oof. Frisk is probably like, 10? I'm concerned where they got this from. Remember, at the end of pacifist, your options are to either travel the world as an ambassador or stay with Toriel. Going back to Frisk's human parents isn't presented as an option.
So they probably didn't have a good home life, and now they're relying on you to get them through the underground and to the end. Whether you force them to kill in order to do that will affect their attitude on killing and whether killing monsters is okay.
In short, Frisk is a very small, impressionable child who is what we make them.
Meanwhile, Kris has a very concrete personality and history, and while it doesn't show on their spite, it's clear from their facial expression, tone of voice, and the narration when you make them do something they don't approve of. (See: Basically most of the normal route dialogue choices in chapter 2 and how Susie reacts to Kris's tone of voice.)
They're not impressionable like Frisk was, and are just tolerating our possession of their body in the game. They have stronger opinions on what we should and shouldn't be making them do.
Still, neither is keen to scream at the top of their lungs that they've been possessed.
Chara
Go read A CHARActer Analysis first and then come back.
Unfortunately, the user that made that post was deactivated so here's a link to a reblog that has all the raw text and here's a link to a google drive with the original post screenshotted by @thepilotdogee
Yes, I know it's long but it's also the best analysis of Chara's character that I know of.
Now, I like the Chara as narrator theory, and considering that they tell us they woke up near the beginning and looked to us for guidance, it explains the narrator's attitude in pacifist vs genocide runs very well. I also generally agree with the conclusions made by this analysis.
However, there are a few sticking points.
For one, I think who's doing what when we as players don't have control in cutscenes is more ambiguous. Are the actions performed by the player character in genocide that we associate with Chara done by Chara or by Frisk?
Chara still mostly uses "you" to narrate what Frisk does when you have them interact with something in genocide, so Frisk still has control over how they interpret your commands. Did Frisk kill Flowey and Asgore at the end of genocide or did Chara? We have two characters who aren't us that could potentially have control during cutscenes, and the actions of one are always relayed to us by the other.
My personal belief is that Chara had basically zero control beyond narration and the UI elements. Chara isn't aware that Frisk is not us in genocide (possibly even in pacifist) because Frisk's attitude and thoughts always align with our choices.
(In the CHARActer analysis, it is explained how your actions as the player tell Chara and Asriel whether it was okay for Asriel to refuse to kill the humans when they died, and by being a pacifist you are showing them that choosing not to kill was better. Meanwhile, Frisk is relying on you to survive, and goes along with whatever you seem to think is correct. Both could've taken the initiative to do the last kills of genocide because both consider you their guide.)
...Then if you do genocide, you have to give Chara control of Frisk's soul to reset the world.
This means that at the end of a true pacifist, instead of Frisk getting the reins back to their soul, they now belong to Chara. Chara, who wants to force us to experience consequences for our actions, does the only thing they can do to affect us, which is to ruin the ending.

Round 3 - Poll 6 of 8
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Take Her Back:
Princess Bubblegum searches for a cure for Marceline and Finn and Jake battle a vampire.
Varmints:
Bubblegum turns to Marceline’s help when something threatens the citizens of her homestead.
propaganda under the cut
Take Her Back
This episode is maybe the funniest of the entire mini-series, while still being incredibly touching at points. The interactions between PB and Marcy are tender, there's a funny miscommunication bit, someone yells pigs at a door until it opens. Great episode.
Varmints:
for obvious reasons. But also this is such a big episode for Bonnie. Coming to terms with the fact that she needs to rest and that her workaholism has hurt her and others… It’s good!!!
Divorced couple talk about why they didn't work out the ep. But On a Serious Note: it's such a satisfying ep both wrt Peebles' individual chara development and their relationship arc. Up to that point, PB had been really close-minded and self-assured to the point of arrogance. I love that we get to see her so vulnerable with that of being exiled, still struggling with her controlling tendencies, but finally willing to admit her faults humbly. Also, Bubbline. But it was Real satisfying to have such a nice bone thrown our way, with them finally talking about why things didn't work between them. THE GRAFITTI. Seeing how much both of them have grown to the point they can be more honest and intentional about giving each other another go. Jsut so many things.
In addition to the obvious Bubbline reconciliation (when this episode aired I quite literally screamed out loud), it's a wonderful continuation of Bonnie's arc in season 6. Her finally reaching her breaking point and being vulnerable, allowing herself to be comforted. It's truly, truly wonderful.

Would love to hear about your DnD chara and her drenched-papersack of a man 👀
HELLO ok i'm back at my computer so i can ANSWER
ok SO
we're playing Curse of Strahd and i have made myself a sorcerer by the name of Asta Lathan, follower of Lathander. and now she's taking up every spare inch of room in my brain. it started in May (more on that later) but now she's a permanent resident
she's a village girl. raised by her grandparents alongside her cousin Cedric. more than your typical adventurer, she's a figure from an adventurer's backstory. she's the apothecary of her village/town, and she never planned to leave. she planned to start a family, find an apprentice, and pass on the apothecary when she was growing old, just like it was passed to her. her cousin Cedric, with the more traumatic loss of his parents and his four years of age on her and the charming demeanor, he's the adventurer. he goes off on these adventures and writes letters home, that they all treasure, and when he comes home (he always comes home), he regales them with stories
you know how he always comes home? one time, he doesn't. Asta studies his last letter. he mentioned a land, Barovia. and so Asta packs and says her goodbyes and sets out to retrieve her cousin, wherever he may be.
when she gets there, she meets with perils but she also meets her beloved party. then proceeds to have the weirdest eleven days ever and baby they're only gonna get weirder
remember how i mentioned May? well, in irl May, we played a session where we went up against creatures we later learned were Night Hags, or the Coven, or whatever we call them. the entire party was incapacitated/outside, except for Asta. so their leader closed in and offered a deal. if Asta agreed to become one of them and to return in ten years' time to learn their ways, they would set her and her friends free (i think they even healed them)
did i mention we fought the Coven because they ate people? yea
what other choice could she make? she took the bargain. she was human before. now she's... well, she doesn't know. her skin is blue and her eyes yellow and branches/thorns grow out of her head
and the bargain is the gift that keeps on giving in terms of roleplay bc it has made some interactions VERY juicy
and now to her wet paper bag of a man!!! who is not actually her man at all. not yet anyway, if i can help it
his name is Vasili and he's an NPC who is awkward and capable and has a horse and says the wrong thing a lot of the time. he's so swagless. it's been around a day since we've met him and he hasn't given a genuine smile once. he feels so guilty for everything, even things that aren't his fault. his face fell when he told Asta her cousin went to Strahd's castle weeks ago and he hasn't heard from him since. he held her upright as she sobbed. he told her she didn't have to eat dinner with him, she didn't mean it. she took it bc she was heartbroken but she did mean it. currently scheming how to tell him that no, she DID mean it, she was just sad (DM and I have a plan)
oh yea she ran into him again in a big battle, demanded his horse (and cursed at him), then they rode the horse together and she called him "baby" and asked him to dinner. that's the prelude to the previous paragraph
he's apparently an accountant
i've been thinking about him so much that it's ridiculous
so. yea.

Frisk and Chara (Can't be Sans/Monstrum)
These two are more defined than I saw with Monstrum. So, I don't really know how to expand them. So feel free to ask me questions if you are really curious! No question is a dumb question!
Tumblr media
Frisk goes by Them/They, same for Chara. They will not talk about their physical genders. Don't ask.
Since Frisk was trapped in a PLAYER abandoned world, stuck in a Genocide run. Frisk was left alone at level 20. As such, when Monstrum split Chara from Frisk, Their LV got split as well. Frisk will try not FIGHT, but will if there is a demand for it. Otherwise, Frisk always dodges. Frisk also takes a bit of a personality change. Frisk has really started to take in a persona similar to that of Sans. And the jacket and scarf both belong to the brothers. Just know, that Frisk DOSE NOT TAKE THESE OFF. The clothes are a very big comfort thing for Frisk. Even though Frisk gets nightmares of the Geno run, Frisk refuses to take them off.     It is good to note that since Frisk is a PLAYER character, a PLAYER character being the tool used for the PLAYER to interact with the world, Frisk is the only one able to understand what Monstrum is saying. But even then, Frisk still needs what Frisk and Chara call the 'cheat sheet' to understand his text box. And yes, as Frisk may be blind, Frisk can only see text boxes clearly. Frisk has not been blind their whole life, but, let's just say that. The original Sans got them really good one run with a well placed blaster. Can Frisk still get into BATTLES? Yes, and Frisk can see with their SOUL, but only a short range. That being, slightly outside of the box.     As his numbers do sometimes change. This can confuse Frisk sometimes, but will just take them a second to decipher his talk. Frisk lives with Papyrus. As Monstrum does not live with Papyrus. Frisk does call Papyrus Uncle Pap and Monstrum as 'Sans', but does not call him 'Dad'. But there is an underline tone that they are practically father and child. No one really knows where Monstrum lives in the area, but he always pops in when Frisk calls for him. No matter where Frisk is.
Chara is kinda a mix of Monstrum and Frisk, however Chara dose count as a Monster as their SOUL is upside down. Sure, it is a pale red, but still more monster than human. This dose make Chara feel better, as Chara has never liked being linked to being a human. How did this happen? Well, the KING OF LOST SOULS Monstrum, had to split a SOUL off of his main SOUL. Chara has access to magic, and as such, can make flying knifes and a sort of portal. Chara likes to ACT more than FIGHT, but for Chara. FIGHT is one of their favorite chooses. They love to simulate battles with their new worlds version of Flowey. As they do not want the original Asriel back and bring bad memories. Chara lives with Asgore, Toriel, and Flowey in the castle, at New Home. Every chance Chara gets they run out to hang out with Frisk, Papyrus and Mosntrum. If he is around. Otherwise, Chara is subject to being a princess. They don't put up with much as they are just happy to have a family and body again.      Chara does consider Frisk family. As Chara is older than Frisk, seeing them as a little sibling (I am going by SOUL age which is, the lingering of the SOUL after death. Yes they can still age). Frisk and Chara are still linked SOUL wise. So Chara knows if Frisk needs anything. This is also helpful for when Chara needs to understand what Monstrum is saying. As only PLAYER characters can understand Monstrum's speaking pattern, Chara cannot understand him when Frisk is not around.     Chara also has a slight character change themselves. This being, they have a sort of Papyrus feel to them. As in, believing there is a time and place for Frisks puns. Having a love for cooking lasagna?? (Don't ask me) A sudden love for crossword puzzles, and bright 'come get me' red race cars. Now note it here that Chara does not hate puns. Chara will even make their own puns, the just like a time and place for them. Also, Chara will say puns to make Frisk feel happy. The lasagna thing? I would like to shift blame of that on to Papyrus himself, and Undyne.
That's all we go for now! Throw me some questions if you got em!

ICONOCLASTS - 16 bit Awesome Adventures!
Tumblr media
Today, I welcome you to the world of ICONOCLASTS.
Iconoclasts is an indie 2D open-world platformer game. It is the masterwork of indie developer Joakim Sandberg, seven long years in the making. You play as Robin, our silent protagonist who just wishes to be a mechanic and help those that needed fixing. However, without a license, she is seen akin to a criminal in the world of Iconoclasts. After some hijinks here and there, Robin finds herself in a problem that’s bigger than her and the entire world.
Alongside Robin, you meet titular characters that will serve as your playable companions as you play through the game. Mina, one of the first playable characters that you meet in the game. She is described as a pirate with a strong odor to pair. Royal, the current Progeny, and in line to become Father of the One Concern. Although unplayable, Royal does assist you through hard battles through the use of his powers. And lastly Robin’s brother, Elro, a bitter ex-chemist, that accompanies Robin later in her journey against bad forces.
Tumblr media
Iconoclasts is an amazing game, with great 16-bit pixelated visuals that will amaze you, deep long hours of multiple boss fights that will sure to challenge you, and big open world free to explore and platform through puzzles and monsters that stand in your way. And its story, while I have not been able to fully piece it all together through my runs of the game, it has an overarching theme of religion, indoctrination, faith, beliefs, and justice as you move your way through the game.
Iconoclasts is long. With each region having a maximum of two-three bosses to beat and that’s not even counting the puzzles and platforming you have to do to head to them and the next storyline! But that’s not to discourage anyone who wishes to play it, in fact, part of the charm of Iconoclasts is its explorative world. With different things to interact with, different people to talk to, side quests, treasures to find and unlock, and even, secret bosses to beat.
Another reason to play (and fall in love with) Iconoclasts is its very unique characters. Each with storylines and interesting personalities that you will love as you progress. Our main characters are different in their own ways. Robin, kind and cheerful but she holds a secret deep in her heart. Mina, a bit of a clown, hard-headed but caring and sweet. Royal, arrogant and pompous, but deep down, he is lonely and a tad bit ignorant. And Elro, bitter and pessimistic, but it is evident that he cares deeply for his family and his sister. Even side characters don’t escape the treatment, as they have hilarious personalities that will make you laugh out loud when you interact with them (Ex. One Concern Soldiers).
Tumblr media
TLDR: Iconoclasts delivers awesome action, hilarious hijinks and an emotional rollercoaster of deeply personal storytelling that you will surely enjoy! 10/10 would always replay.
That is all! Thank you for reading Gamer Salad. And until next time! Shamie signing out!
Ready to go out for a wild adventure!? I sure am! Click the link below to get the game now from Steam.

So how are you doing on that flowified fan story (just curious) also did you have a merry Christmas
Mod: With so much going on on my end with my AUs and me having a job, I won’t lie I kinda forgot. And it’s been kinda hard to bring myself to continue. Mostly because what I’m doing involves writing official characters from a series that, despite loving suits designs and abilities, I have my…. Certain gripes with. Cuz the story was a bit all over the place. ^^; And projecting them against these kids is kinda tricky. Because due to the story being a bit wonky (not the Flowified AU or the kids in void in general I wanna make that clear) the character’s development in such cases is….. obscure? Durendal for example at the time was hard to put together on how he would face the child, I know he harsh yet fair. But follows a strict code. Really all I know about him aside from his sister is his clan that he grew up in and how they were raise. Anything else like what his likes or dislikes are or what he does when he ISNT constantly fighting is hard for me to get into character. As for Buster thank god I was able to find a manga about his past so I feel like I’m able to make him go well. Blades on the other hand despite being the secondary character of the show was also a little tricky? I know he is a dedicated swordsman and he more of a bookworm to the point where he calls humans “Homosapians” but even then like the other swordsman I barely understand him to project him. Aside from his master he is constantly talking about, I remember only him constantly fighting aswell. And Calibur….. uhhh… Let’s just say she wasn’t exactly the user of the sword at the beginning of the series. IN FACT SHE USED IT AT THE END OF THE SERIES AND ALL I KNOW IS THAT SHE A CLONE OF SOME… MAGIC BOOK CHARACTER CHILD?
youtube
This series is so weird to understand lore wise despite them telling AND showing. And there are supposed to be TEN of these guys. TEN TECHNICALLY MAIN CHARACTERS! First off the transformation sounds are long, they have an ending song which is not usually done in this series. And there are usually only 45 to 50 episodes each at best supposed to be 23 minutes. It feels like information was cut out due to the books swords transformations and ending rambling on.
Now why am I ranting about this. Cuz here is the key detail to all this.
I HAVE TO KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT THE CHARACTER IF I WANNA PLAY IT RIGHT.
I’m not an artist so I can’t just draw a simple scene and call it a day. My only way to do this is make fan stories that project the feelings perfectly. And it’s difficult to do sometimes when it comes to the characters I’m trying to present to flowified kids. Cuz this isn’t meant to just be a battle of abilities it’s meant to be a battle of IDEALS. A teaching moment. Not just dragon ball or jojo stuff where you beat the character and call it a day. And if I don’t project it right I feel like I’m ruining the characters and intention behind it.
So that’s why it’s been so difficult to continue. I apologize for my ramble. I am not sure if I will continue it anytime soon because I am working on other major stuff on my other blogs and here. And it’s been a lot more easy to understand and put together. Maybe at some point I will continue. But that’s really gonna depend. I DO want this interaction to happen. Because i feel like these heroes could save them and teach them. YES even chara (may be stubborn but at least they can be lectured). But I will need time and lots of motivation to continue. Especially when I’m so busy and trying my best to keep track of a lot of projects and side stuff that goes on. ^^;
We will have to see.

Having a child, with his own blood running through your veins, you being the spitting image of him- Was the last thing Xiao could ever imagine ever happening to him.
It’s understandable that he was really shocked to know you are his. Xiao is, after all, the Conqueror Of Demons. He is more than used to being in battle, always being on high alert and ready to slash any enemy down since it isone of his duties as the Vigilant Yaksha who protects Liyue.
Xiao was very cautious around you. With your small and fragile body, he feared that even touching you was enough to kill you. The Wangshu Inn keeper had to teach him ‘how’ to hold you because Xiao’s fear of holding you might just make him stay ten feet away from you at all costs.
He watches over you from afar, always ready to strike at whatever dares to bring you harm.
Though, most of the time, the yaksha is always leaving you to Verr Goldet’s care so he can fulfill his duties. It was fine at first- Until Verr had to talk to Xiao about it. He told him that he shouldn’t be too focused  on that job.
She told him the possibilities of his constant negligence of you, she told him you might grow “Deprived From Fatherly Affection”. Xiao was shocked of course, he didn’t really know that.
He felt guilty, he was so blinded by not wanting to inflict any form of harm on you, he didnt expect that it’ll inevitably lead you to growing some unwanted mindsets and habits.
Xiao isn’t really one for affection, there’s no need to explain that. Majority of his skills are more on the ‘slaughter’ and ‘exorcise’ expertise.
Regardless, he is not just a protector of Liyue now, he is a ‘father’ now. Specifically your father. This new responsibility isn’t something he will run away from.
Don’t expect much from him though. Xiao is still hesitant to some extent, he’s trying to figure out how he will interact with you.
Unlike him, you’re fragile. More fragile than glass. He’s afraid of exerting accidental force that will lead him to hurting you. You’re just too small- so small can’t even reach pass his knees(Please this yaksha is just overthinking too much)
Baby steps, that’s what he’ll do. Slow and steady so he wont be too overwhelmed.
He starts off by simply talking to you, maybe even playing with you for a bit with enough begging. Xiao slowly got used to handling you as time went by. Verr was even suprised at one point when she saw Xiao handling you during your tantrums.
Xiao made good progress with you. He didnt even know that he was unconciously getting attached to you, he didnt know that he adored your presence. He didn’t realize that he gets a little frustrated when he needs to leave you behind. Xiao developed his ‘father instincts’ to such a level to the point that he sometimes wished his Yaksha responsibilties were less demanding.
When you are trouled with nightmares- Xiao will put some stuff to wardoff evil. Though, he also heard that child mortals are more effectively comfoted if they are sung a lullaby, so he’ll do that. Just... Don’t tell anyone else or that will be your last (maybe)
The immortal sometimes even comes home with new clothes since he knew that children grow and he wouldn’t want to see you struggling with the small fit ofyour clothing. He also makes sure to put some spells on them too to ward off evil.
Xiao unconciously spoils you, his mind always drifting; ‘Maybe they’ll like something like that. Mortal children I’ve seen are fond of those stuff’.  Naturally, he’ll make a way to afford that small gift for you. If he cant, then he’ll just learn how to make it himself.
He loves you, he just doesnt know how to convey that. Being an adepti, being raised as a machine for war- Love wasn’t something he is great at. But even if it’s that, he’ll still strive for you secretly. Xiao will no doubt make the most descreet efforts to adore you. He still doubts himself even after all the progress he’s made in becoming close to you.
“Silk Flowers!” You squeel in delight as you spotted a bouquet of it from afar. You dash off from Xiao’s side, making the adepti startled and call out your name.
But still you were a child, of course you just kept running and running until the ground beneath you rumbled at what seems like caused from footsteps. Your feet wobbled and almost knocked you off of your feeting. Then it stopped, a huge shadow looming over your small figure. You look up only to have the color of your face drained.
“D-Daddy!” You cried out in absolute horror, falling down to the ground. You were terrified, how could you not? Monsters were real, and one of those monsters was about to murder you in cold blood. “Daddy! Help!”
Just at the beast was about to swing it’s flaming axe towards you- The  wind shifted, as if slicing through the air and knocking back the mitachurl.
“How dare such filthy demon dare to even make their presence in front of my child, let alone even dare to strike!” Xiao growled, his eyes flaming gold from raw fury as he walked with the air dancing violently around him. “ I’ll make you pay”
Xiao’s voice was flooded with resentment, his primodial jade radiated as it felt it’s master’s sudden abundance in power. He spun it as his Yaksha mask formed in his face. At the roar of the enemy, Xiao leapt forward, striking the demon in overwhelming speed. He moved so fast it’s too the point the mitachurl wasn’t given any chance to react. But was it done? No, not even a little bit. That demon frightened you to the point your voice faltered in calling him. He has seen you in tears but never to this extent. Xiao was fuming as he plunged down, his anemo spears stabbing the enemy with no hint of sympathy.
When he finally finished the kill, Xiao’s mask disintegrated and immediately walked to your crying state. He clicked his tounge, feeling a huge pang in his heart as he saw you this disheveled.
“Da-daddy!” You wailed, reaching your arms out for him desperately as your tears clouded your eyes. “Waah!”
He wanted to scold you, he really did. But the sight of you crying like this made the words stuck in his throat. Xiao instead lifted you in his arms, letting you bury your face on the crook of his neck and sob freely. You soaked his shoulder and Xiao didn’t complain, he just rubbed your back to let you know he is there.
“Does anywhere hurt?” His nonlachant voice rung in your ears softly, stealing your attention. “If there is, better tell me now or those wounds will cause  further damage in you.”
“[Y-y/n] is bad.” You hicupped. “[Y/N] is so bad daddy is now ou-ouchie. Daddy now hates [Y-Y/N]”
“Hate? You mortals have odd ways of thinking” Xiao sounded a little rough, making you flinch. “Don’t be ridiculous, I would never bear such hostility towards you. Moreover, I’m not hurt. I’ve lived for thousands of years, pain is something minimal for an adepti such as myself.”
He scoffed.
“On the other hand, your life is counted by only one hand. You have yet to experience what life will truly bring you.” Xiao’s voice started to soften bit by bit as he softly squeezes your small body towards him more “However, I am your father. If darkness decides to crawl at your feet and even when you are frigthened of what’s ahead- Call out my name. I’ll always be there.”
“Da-daddy promises?” You look up to stare at his amber orb. “Daddy will make monsters go bye-bye?”
“Yes” He simply answered. “Now stop your noisy crying, we’re going back to eat.”
He appears cold, his way of talking always straight to the point, but still he loves you. Adeptus Xiao, the guardian yaksha, his power will not simply be used in order to slaughter the darkness creeping around Liyue. With his Vision and might as Alatus, the Golden-Winged King,... He will protect you at all costs and raise you no matter how he is troubled regarding his difficulty in making much of emotions.
You are one his greatest gifts, a treasure he will sincerely hold in his heart forevermore. It doesn’t matter if his karmic binds attack him, he will venture out of it for you.
A/N: AIGHHTT AAAA ITS MY FIRST TIME WRITTING FOR XIAO HNNN, Did I do good??? AAAA I DUNNO AHDKSGF. I hope you all liked it hngghhhh ;___; Also I’m sorry for being inactive a lot AAAAA, school is starting to get mre and more demanding. I have more hcs upcoming so dw! Deltarune Spoilers under the cut, please don’t look unless you’re already aware of the “Iceshock Route”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These lines really creeped me out. The way the narrator starts acting exactly like Chara in the Genocide Run, giving you advice on how to defeat the enemy. Noelle still hearing Kris’s voice even though they’re unconscious. It reminds me of the scene where we direct Susie during the jailbreak, she mentioned hearing Kris then too.
I remember Spambot NEO mentioning how all three characters in the party have “strings”, even though Kris is the one being possessed and beforehand he was only referencing their possession, but stuff like this makes that line make more sense. There’s something very weird about how the party is all connected through the soul, how damaging it hurts the party members, and how they can order everyone around, even without Kris physically speaking. It seems like Noelle froze everyone just because she was manipulated into it, but Noelle also says she can’t remember killing the salesperson, and there’s always a blackout once she uses the Iceshock spell outside of battle. It’s like she’s being controlled similar to Kris.
This route was very unsettling, and I highly prefer the normal route over it, but it  has interesting implications about the lore. I like how it makes it clear that Kris isn’t the one manipulating Noelle, because she says that the voice she hears isn’t like Kris’s in the Light World. I remember before Chapter 2 came out there were quite a few people who were trying to justify possessing Kris because “we were making them into a better person” even though that’s... not what happened. We never had to stop them from hurting someone, at best we made them more sociable but not wanting to interact with people isn’t a crime lol. Anyway my point is I love how Toby wrecked that idea by making this route a thing. Susie even mentions how Kris doesn’t look okay when the gang meets up back with each other later in the route.
One last thing I want to mention is that Deltarune’s steam page description says “...only 1 ending...?” which I didn’t think much of at first, but the fact that Berdly is essentially dead (I think specifically he’s “fallen down”) makes me suspect that Toby plans on adding a secret ending that you can only get if you do this route. Who knows if I’m right, but that’s my current expectation.

ALRIGHTY! LOYAL HERE COMING IN WITH THE CIRCUS HAHAHA
Btw, I’m like 90% sure that I fell asleep while writing so it just stops. Like, there’s no ending/summary/whatever word I’m looking for but can’t think of at the moment and my bird is currently chewing on my phone case oh my god can she please stop—
__________________
I believe the concept of yanderes ft. a isekai-d reader has been mentioned by Shepard and her anons, tho it’s been mainly for Origins SMP. So, I come to you with ideas for the Dream SMP because that’s all I’m familiar with HAHAH—
Also, I apologize in advance because this thing is borderline an essay with how long it is. I’m so sorry—
For example *cue dramatic lighting and a cheesy flashback monologue thingie* oh my god I think I’m losing it, I’m so tired
Y/n and their younger sibling, Frisk, had just finished up another press conference regarding Monsters being back on the surface. All seems to be going well until the ground beneath their feet vanishes and they fall unconscious a few moments later. When they awaken, they notice they’re surrounded by humans—wait they aren’t all humans, what the fuck, since when are there hybrids? They knew everyone from the underground—by name, no less—and had never heard of any currently living hybrids. Only of ones from before the war. Besides, Monsters have been on the surface for a month at most, so there is no way for... oh boy, their head is spinning.
After some very...tense...introductions (“Hi, I never saw you guys Underground, nor have I heard of you, no offense. So, uh, which monsters are you guys related to?” “OI, I’LL HAVE YOU KNOW THAT TUBBO IS NOT A MONSTER!”) they come to the realization that y/n is most definitely not from this world, or even this universe. Y/n’s adamant refusal to fight the “real monsters” that roam this land (“I did not spend countless timelines weeks putting my life on the line to befriend every monster, break the barrier that trapped them Underground, and defend them against my own god forsaken race just to turn my back on them.”) was a pretty big sign, after all. That, along with species of monsters that the SMP members have never heard of and how y/n talked about Souls as if they were a tangible thing.
It’s a rocky start before any sort of friendship is formed: y/n, wanting to be cautious, (and also not having Sans there to CHECK for them) decides to ask everyone what their LV is. It’s risky, and they had no way to prove if anyone is (or isn’t) telling the truth, but it was worth a shot. “Our levels?” A small goat hybrid asked, his head slightly tilting to the side. Everyone assumes that y/n is talking about enchantment levels. “I’m at 26! Ranboo, you’re at 30, right?” “I’m at 37 now, actually.” “Well, I’M at 58. Clearly I’m the superior one here. A real big man, a very manly man, aren’t I?” And a few others pipe in. Color drains from y/n’s face and they take a few steps back, hands shaking as their eyes dart between each person in the room and the exit. ‘How many lives have they each taken to make their LOVE so high? Why do they seem so proud of it?’ Yeah... that was an interesting experience.
- even though they have been reassured multiple times that the monsters of this world are nothing like the ones from their home, y/n still refuses to kill a single one, as I had mentioned earlier. They also refuse to kill animals. It takes a couple tries at explaining LV or LOVE—Level Of ViolencE—along with EXP—EXecution Points—but eventually everyone is on the same page
- Y/n is hesitant to bring out their SOUL when asked. First off, though they’re now friends with those from the Underground, they can’t help but be reminded of every spear, knife, bone, petal, gaster blaster, and fireball that has been aimed at them with the intent to kill whenever their SOUL was drawn into an encounter back then. Second of all, showing your SOUL is something you do with those you trust with your life—after all, you’re literally putting your lifeline out on display when you do so. There are so many different ways that the SMP members can see it
- Perhaps a monster appears
- Eggpire or Dream attack
- Someone forces y/n into an encounter because everyone is too curious to just let this opportunity slip by
- When y/n discovers that the people of this land have more than one life, they’re confused. There is no way that all of these people have SOULS of Determination, and there’d definitely be some issues if people kept rewinding time to their last save point. Besides, only one Determination SOUL—the strongest one—should be able to respawn. Then again, they only know what Frisk had explained to them. They were never able to see the save stars that Frisk would interact with in the different sections of the Underground. So they only have so much to go off of.
- Battle for them is completely different. Despite being in a different world, the mechanics from their world still apply. They can FIGHT, ACT, use an ITEM or show MERCY.
- They use Frisk’s tactic and flirt their way out of a fight or two. They never understood why Frisk did it until now... ‘I mean, I...wow. That was actually effective.’ They’re impressed.
- Oh no, maybe that wasn’t the best idea...they might have some yanderes after them bc of it...
- They probably have accidentally called Philza ‘Asgore’ and Tubbo ‘Asriel’ because both hybrids remind her of the two males from her world. Similar personalities AND Tubbo is a goat hybrid. The poor child is going to be so confused
- If Tubbo’s a yandere oh boy it’s going to be so easy for him. Y/n will probably be constantly at his side and telling him stories about the first fallen child and how they were adopted by the royal family, who are goat monsters! And just explaining the history of the underground and how important the goat family is. Talks about Asriel a lot as well. Probably makes him butterscotch cinnamon pie and tries to recreate golden flower tea to share with him as well. Or, they do that and he’s not yandere and it’s just wholesome.
- If we follow the headcanons that some fans have made, perhaps Frisk (and/or y/n) gave up half of their SOUL to give to either (or both) Chara or Asriel so they’d have another chance at life
- Not only does y/n refuse to kill, which leaves them vulnerable, they also only have half a SOUL, which means they’re incredibly weak. Someone needs to protect them, someone needs to keep them safe, someone needs to—
- Y/n is incredibly agile thanks to all the battles they’ve faced Underground. With their SOUL always out in the open during an encounter and the fact that they refuse to harm anyone, it’s required. I’m imagining them moving like a dancer, using jumps and spins to help them avoid any weapons swung at them.
- This is gonna be annoying for any yandere that wishes to lock y/n up. Even if they won’t physically hurt someone, they WILL put up a fight and make it as hard as they possibly can to be dragged into isolation or imprisonment
- When it comes to who goes yandere, I believe what color of SOUL y/n has (their personality, in summary) would play a big role. Here’s a few of my ideas, feel free to move people around or add to it, I’m really tired and can’t think of many characters LOL
- Red (determination): Wilbur, Technoblade
- Orange (bravery): Technoblade, Dream, Tommy
- Yellow (justice): Sam, Technoblade
- Green (kindness): the kids of the server, Fundy, and Ghostbur
- Cyan (patience): Ranboo, Ghostbur, Karl
- Dark blue (integrity): Tubbo, Philza, Sam
- Purple (perseverance): Dream—this man would love to see how long it would take for your perseverance to run out. I wouldn’t be surprised if your perseverance is the only reason he’s interested.
__________________
From what I saw of the end of what I wrote, it is DEFINITELY cut short. At least I mentioned every SOUL type lolol.
Also, I found a whole other note that’s a continuation of this concept but for y/n being from another game what the hell was I doing—
Expect that to come in another ask once I eat dinner
Sorry i took so long to answer!! I kept getting distracted!
That stuff is so pog man!!!! Puffy might be called “Toriel” once in a while because mom energy and she sheep,,, close to goat!
Gosh all the flirting will bring in so many yanderes or make ppl like “yo wtf??” And there’s a very small amount that are inbetween.
OKAY BUT WITH THE MONSTER STUFF ON THE DSMP- they’d keep the monsters in their house. They’d give them food and everything. Some def become very friendly and will defend. Haha giant spider go prrrrrr
I’d write more but there is so much amazing stuff I don’t think I could add to some of them anyways!!! Plus my mind is just racing other places rn haha

UT/DR human SOULs headcanons (with pictures)!
I was thinking about what my thoughts of them were gonna be, and decided to make a post! But I guess I need to start from what Determination (DT) is!
Tumblr media
See, at first, I made a mistake assuming that red SOUL trait was called DT as well, as it was wildly popular headcanon. This is what interacting with the fandom before playing the game gets you... But I searched all over the game, and didn’t find any other hint besides Frisk having ‘the most of DT’. Word Determination however, is written in golden text, SAVE points are golden too. Meanwhile, snow ball game doesn’t even name the red trait, only suggests that Frisk has it because of their ability to show other six in the right situation.
So basically, I headcanon them as different things! DT is the power to deceive death (whether you are avoiding it yourself, or accidentally raise ‘not a nice person’ from the grave...), but red trait is ‘being able to still stay yourself no matter what happens. You can stand against adversity - the game suggests that ‘it’s still you’ if you don’t become all too evil. Sinse red trait did not have actual name...
Tumblr media
I decided that it shouldn’t have one name, then! This trait will be known as humanity for humans and monsterity for monsters. I like to think that Chara’s red SOUL came from the fact that whatever pain humans they knew put on them, they didn’t bend and instead just cursed their entire kind and helped themselves out of it. Kris wanted to stay their quiet, weird kid self so much that they tore their SOUL out when they realized it’s moving... also a very willing move.
Perseverance is aligned with not giving up, too! The difference is, purple trait is when you will face any challenges and changes you have to in order to survive, but red trait is when you refuse to bend abandon your ideals, even if it MIGHT end you... But if you are THAT cool - your SOUL is not only immortal, but can reverse death! Works for bad humans too - are you ‘still yourself’ because you refused to let the world ruin you, or because you turned down every single chance to redemption and stayed bad?
And seven’th flower in Asgore’s basement being golden and not red? I think that represents just how hard it is to achieve the red trait!
Tumblr media
I also personally believe that human SOULs can come in any color thinkable! EXCEPT for pink/magenta... It would feel strange for me if human SOULs had classification other than ‘just a human SOUL!’, even though 7 pure rainbow traits are good umbrella terms for most virtues that aren’t intellectual or talent ones. Green human is not ‘a human with SOUL of kindness’, it is ‘a kind human with a SOUL of a human’! Basically, if it has a color - it is a human SOUL! And I like to think that all human SOULs might change colors.
Tumblr media
Monsters’ SOULs don’t flicker, as they are more keen with nature (to the point of naturally not trying to defy death, apparently...) and right feelings more often than not find them on their own - especially if they are shown kindness from someone else. Humans can actually choose to use (or not use) other virtues, because ‘Humans don’t need love and compassion to survive’.
As for the Ghost monsters, I really like to think that they originate from humans. Napstablook can’t get killed, and doesn’t have a SOUL - they ARE a SOUL! A white SOUL, specifically. I belive Mad Dummy ghost is white too. But as you can see, body, memories and even complexity of personality are lost - Napstablook is always sad, Mad Dummy is always angry... Mettaton was always sweet and sentimental, unless I misread it. Their only shot to come out of the state of Limbo is to take a shot at second life, being reborn as a monster (that happened with Mettaton, as you can kill him in robot body).
Tumblr media
I like to think that if we were to play as other fallen humans, battles would almost always default into their preferred mode. Patience and Bravery modes were not used for reals, but I like to think that cyan SOUL mode would default into rhytm-game, whereas orange SOUL mode would have you smash buttons madly to 'attack’ the bullets pattern with your movement! If you slow down and try to dodge naturally - they would get you.
Now, about Deltarune? I tried to imagine on what other humans might look like in the Dark World...
Tumblr media
This one is not accurate to my specific fallen humans designs due to difference in brightness, more like, I tried to use Kris’ coloration as default. Just a small handy reference for me if I must design any more human fan-characters for Deltarune setting! As for whether personality of humans might effect their battle style...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I like to think so, yes! Bow to take down the bad guys, closest range weapon to face the enemy head on... Essentially, the most versatile ones are honest humans and ‘screw you, world!’ humans - albeit most often, you will find the former using culture objects and tools, whereas latter tends to use weapon showing raw power, since their personality is so powerful.
Tumblr media
And just a small bonus of fusion traits, because I really like to imagine what fusion modes might be like! For example, orange + purple mode could easily work like old Doodle Jump game in the phones! I made extra effort to remove magenta/pink colors from the list, so the closest to it is pale-red confidence. Admittedly, they are rarer, and more importantly, fusions that include red colored mode seem to be... not very nice. I like to imagine that if we got to play as genuinely a very mean human, those would be their SOUL modes... You can just see very strong emphasis on ‘refusal’ in these traits!
Well, with that said, I think I am done geeking out about the traits here! I just really love to analyze this stuff, besides it will just be handy reference in the future.. (And I did have to stop myself before geeking out about how fusion SOULs modes gameplay would be, the post gotten loooong.)

Misc 17 for the sentence starters, charas of your choice but would love to see Sol included
YES this is perfect, I just had this idea for a scene when I was doing Sol's fnv run last night. Thank you for the ask!!!
Misc 17: “Okay, so maybe I didn’t see that coming.”
Arcade jumped as the Lucky 38’s elevator dinged, loudly announcing its arrival. So much for watching holos in peace. The metal doors slid open just as he stepped out of the kitchen, snacks in hand and mild guilt painting his face.
“Oh, hi!” he greeted with forced enthusiasm. “I thought you and Raul were gone for the week, perilous trek across the wasteland and all that.”
Surprisingly, Sol didn’t challenge him for swiping his Nuka-Cola and snack cakes from the pantry, instead inching towards his bedroom like he was desperate to exit the conversation.
“We- uh. It was just a trip- trip to Red Rock.” He glanced at his Pip-Boy far too fast for him to have read the time. “It’s late. I should - go to bed.”
Across the hall, Boone leaned against the recreation room’s door frame, arms crossed casually. He didn’t interject, watching the interaction with disinterest.
Arcade raised an eyebrow, stating, “It’s barely eight, but I suppose there are worse things than getting a few extra hours in. Certainly don’t let me keep you from your beauty sleep.”
Sol nodded, quickly retreating into his room.
Before he could shut the door, Arcade stopped him. “Hey, what’s in your bag?”
From that angle, he could see the seams on the zipper threatening to snap, the entire backpack stuffed so full it was a wonder he’d been able to close it in the first place. The shrug Sol offered was less than reassuring. “Cl-clothes. Supplies. You know,” he waved a hand vaguely. “Stuff.”
Arcade followed, inserting himself between him and the bed. “What kind of stuff are we talking about here?”
It wasn’t that he didn’t trust Sol, but he was acting strange and if he’d brought hazardous weaponry into the suite, it wouldn’t have been the first or even second time.
Arcade reached for the bag and Sol ducked, easily evading him. He swiftly backed away from Arcade, running directly into Boone who’d silently come up behind him. Boone forced the backpack’s zipper open, nearly breaking it in the process and sending the contents spilling out onto the carpet.
Arcade blinked down at the mess. “Huh. Okay, so maybe I didn’t see that coming.”
He bent over to pick up one of the dozens of dinosaur souvenirs that continued to slowly drop from Sol’s bag like a never-ending clown car of plastic Dinkys. He couldn’t fathom the amount of engineering that had gone into fitting so many into such a tight space.
“I- uh- it’s- I’m not- you can’t…” Sol huffed and shrugged his backpack off, dropping down to begin gathering the souvenirs.
He’d put in a valiant effort, but Arcade couldn’t quite bite back his laughter as he set his forgotten food on the desk. It earned him glare and he apologized, joining Sol on the floor to assist. The horde of dinosaurs was nonchalantly tossed onto the bed and Sol stood back up, Arcade shortly following.
“I’m sure you made Cliff’s day, if nothing else. What use could you possibly have for all of these?”
Sol avoided his gaze, shrugging and looking to Boone. He wasn’t faring much better than Arcade, his poker face losing the battle against the grin that pulled at corners of his mouth. Finally, Sol’s offended scowl broke and he snorted at the mountain of plastic toys piled on his mattress.
Sighing, Arcade stepped closer to him until Sol was forced to look up to see his face. “What?”
Arcade laughed again, shaking his head and smiling affectionately. “I love you.”
Sol bit his lip, trying and failing to train his expression into indignance. “You’re the wor-worst.”

The plot of mirrortale
Brief summary of mirrortale, please there may be some grammar errors please keep in mind that i made this awhile ago. and some of the wording may not make sense.
The monsters won the human monster war despite them being proclaimed weak, they won by having large numbers , the leadership and optimism of the king as well as his second in command undyne, the fire monster was able to pull through , despite the numerous causalities. monsters would become stronger with their attacks and defense.
humans were forced underground while monsters lived on the surface, the humans living in villages and slums in the underground , creating their own devices while on the surface monsters did the same, The monsters combine magic making the terrain of where they reside change drastically, the area after journeying through the barrier and war battlefield was called the hotlands , after that snowdin finally the waterfalls. the king and queen of the monsters had a son named asirel , who would be looked after by Muffet, the royal maid.
During this time the royal scientist , W.D gaster stumbled upon 2 skeletons , one being at least 5 with major fractures to his right eye, and the other being 1 with a small fracture to the top of his skull, the brothers were taken in by gaster , and named papyrus and sans. papyrus would go on to adore the royal knight undyne. during this time gaster had to do some simple tests on the brothers to see how their magic was, while papyrus had strong magic, his younger brother sans magic that was through the rough, stronger then any monster he ever seen, surpassing the kings, and being extremely unstable, to keep his magic in check the royal scientist gave the young skeleton a magic inhibitor in the shape of a heart to make sure his magic never spiraled out of control.
When the young prince turn 5 human girl named chara would sneak to the surface and meet him. he would later bring her back home and she would be adopted by the king and queen. but after 2 weeks a tragedy occurred, after sneaking out while Muffet was busy. the two managed to go to a cliff with the flowers forget me nots the kings favorite flowers. however the girl did not notice the cliff breaking underneath her , and began to fall, only for the young prince to grasp her hand , and began calling for help, both the king , queen and maid heard this yet they were too late , the prince lost his footing and fell off the cliff along with a human, leaving only a red human soul of determination and a single forget me not, both were taken by the king, the soul being given to gaster while the flower would be placed in at the ruins of the battlefield. for those that had lost their lives during the war, as well as the king and queens son.
A barrier would be placed in front of the entrance to the underground to prevent any humans from going through. little did the king know their was a gap in the barrier that humans could pass through, humans that would go through the barrier would never return their souls being contained and sent to gaster. humans would begin to fear going to the surface.
3 years after this , the queen toriel would begin going on explorations to places within the kingdom almost never coming back to the castle , while gaster would mentor a young determined monster named alphys who was very chilled and a smart talker along with his son sans. papyrus would go on to be a rookie of the royal guard and soon become a member of the royal guard. while that forget me not place in the ruins of the battle field , would come to life, with a case of amnesia on who he was.
Asgore on the other hand would lose his bright personality, and instead would fall into a mourning and depressed state, having anger stemmed from humans, as he believed that chara dragged asirel to his death rather than him trying to save her. never leaving his castle, the only time he does is to visit the place where his son died. having a garden filled with forget me nots.
years later a child named frisk with the soul of kindness would sneak through the gap in the barrier and be greeted a blue flower named flowey, who was very helpful of informing the child about what occurred after the war, and also tell them his wishes to explore around the surface rather than be stuck in one place. listening to his plea would find a helmet and place him into it bringing him along . as soon as they did they ran into the queen now explorer toriel, who cared for humans and monsters alike, having that same kind of motherly attitude she had once before looking out for others and helping others. She believed that incident that happened with her son was a mere accident yet her husband disagrees, would guide said human through the battlefield, encountering a boisterous dj ghost named naspstablook who became their friend after frisk listened to his banter. toriel would soon guide the child to the entrance of hotlands outskirts where flowey would have glimpses of his past as asriel.
In the hotland outskirts they would meet a skeleton named sans, who clumsily dropped some of his tools. at first he was extremely nervous and intimidated by frisk but soon became self confident of himself afters he sheepishly asked frisk to be his friend, which they accepted as well as flowey much to sans shock upon seeing the talking flower. leading them to his and his brothers home in the hotlands, but first went to grillby's after frisk boosted his confidence. grillby was a water monster that was able to bare the heat in the hotlands. and served various foods, sans ordering fries with mayo, when he asked frisk if it was weird they responded with not at all , while frisk order a cup of water to drink and water flowey. they would later spend the night over at sans shared home with his brother papyrus. where sans was able to make a pot for flowey to be placed in. and when they all had fallen asleep flowey would have more and more dreams about his past.
it wouldn't be long in the morning till his older brother got back from his royal guard duties would they're be a heated argument, between the two brothers, about letting frisk live . his older brother papyrus was similar to the famed undyne in personality, it was hard to read his emotions, he was an intimidating force, and disliked humans , and kept his cool in situations, and spoke in a monotone voice, an opposite to his brother sans who was very shy around lots of monsters and liked working in his garage on machines and new inventions, yet under that shyness is a monster who loves to talk and is extremely friendly, Protecting his friends.
Papyrus agreed to sans that he could take him to the start of the next town, snowdin ... as papyrus informed the the raging flame as known as the royal knight undyne that a human was on their way to snowdin and while sans frisk and flowey made their way through hotlands , sans thanked frisk for helping him build confidence in himself, and that he could make some new friends if he just be himself. After a sad goodbye, the Frisk would be forced into a battle with papyrus, who know was wielding a set of ray guns designed by gaster as the soul breakers. bantering on and on about how humans Changed the king from who he used to be. and lets just say, he breaks after frisk would not harm him and that they became his brothers friend, His brothers only friend. and would let them pass into snowdin where flowey would have another flashback where he learned his real name which was asriel.
the duo would soon be chased down through snowdin by the raging flame undyne, covered in molten armor, a monster that despite taking part in the human monster war was still young. while she used to be a raging flame, she is now a monster who likes having a fair fight against others and is much more mature than what she used to be. guarding the entrance to the water falls and demanding a fight, which frisk agrees but instead flees past undyne and into the the water falls, and when it seems as if undyne's fire would go out, frisk gives her an umbrella to protect her from the water pouring down . as she recovers her energy she salutes frisk for outwitting her and despite following the king , she swears to follow frisk as well, As she asks for the flowers name, she is shocked and filled with disbelief. telling frisk that they needs to bring their friend to the king. she would guide frisk but shes still recovering. as frisk and flowey carry on to the water falls where asirel has almost recovered all his memories.
They run into the smart talking, carefree and a bit cocky, horror movie loving mechanic/ scientist alphys and the fashion savvy robot named mettaton. When meeting and interacting with alphy's frisk notices that she is crushing on the raging flame undyne, which results in her personality altering into one that is extremely embarrassed, yet frisk and flowey decide to help alphy's out on asking out undyne which goes extremely well, and alphys's considered them a friend. Frisk also helps the green and white fashion designer mettaton out by wearing his hand made clothing and the residents of the waterfall adore his work and he thanks frisk by giving them a hug and calling them his greatest friend.
After heading to the castle, Asriel has his final flashback of him trying to help chara who was dangling off a cliff, due to him not being strong enoug, he and chara fell to their death's. With his memory is restored, he pleads with frisk to help him remove the barrier, which they agree.
They run into the castle maid muffet who recognizes asirel's voice, falling into tears apologizing that she didn't stop him and chara. Muffet was friendly and motherly maid that usually babysat asirel and chara. always baking them treats and goodies. attire consisting of a gown with the dreamurr emblem. informing them that the only person who could let them into the throne room was gaster. after going to his lab you could see various documents that informed frisk that a monster with unstable magic would dissolve or oddly become a species known as a gaster blaster. and their being 7 containers containing 6 human souls, the soul of determination belonging to chara while the empty container is if any human dares to go to the surface. after encountering the scientist who shows a very polite and kind demeanor, takes some tests to determine whether or not this human is telling the truth .. which turns out correct, he is fascinated by how asirel survived yet lets them into the throne room....
* the true ending would involve asgore being pushed aside by toriel and all of frisks and floweys friends they met along their journey, flowey telling asgore the truth about what happened long ago, and that he is asirel, After getting confirmation of this asgore is about to embrace the flower int a hug until.. the souls of the deceased children break out of their containers and forcefully merge with Asriel, who is consumed by the power, not being himself but instead a Psychotic deity who steals the memories of frisk's friends and is determined to consume frisk's soul of kindness to be complete, after Returning her friends memories, Frisks soul is literally plucked from her body and absorbed by asirel, yet she is alive in a dark void with the only things visible are the 6 human souls , she talks to each human soul, telling them they can finally rest easy now . The only one remaining being chara , the soul of determination, who manifests into her alive form , Crying on how its her fault that they died, That all this happened because she wasn't being careful and some long needed comfort, Chara accepts her fate to move on , and the souls including chara and frisks eject themselves from asirel body and begin spiraling around his form, with the power of their souls combined, They were able to return asirel back to his original form . and after a sad goodbye from chara, the barrier is broken, the king becomes his old self again, the queen returns to the castle and frisk is adopted as the king and queens child along with asriel.
*the neutral ending would have frisk facing off against the king , killing him would result in frisk breaking the barrier from their LVL. leaving flowey to mourn why they did this. Sans can also become the final boss of this route if frisk kills papyrus, which would result in sans removing his magic inhibitor and be in the middle stage of a transformation into a gaster blaster. To note that sans is aware of the resets but cant remember anything past his transformation.
* In the genocide ending sans will become a boss 2 times, once in his mid transformation stage at the Start of snowdin and encountered one last time in the throne room as a large beast nicknamed the alpha gaster blaster, a large gaster blaster with a skeletal body who has gone feral due to his emotions.

Basic Undertale AU Info- RandomizerTale
                                                   The Story
With each reset everyone (other than frisk/chara, gaster, and maybe flowey) are randomized as different character roles. The characters still look the same and have the same names, but they act and talk as the characters they are playing as. They still have their same basic powers (except for sans who can't maintain his knowledge of resets outside his role), they just act different.
Think of it as a randomizer mod. The same art and battle assets, just different dialogue.
Sans gets nerfed for whoever he's playing as though.
The only one who realizes is the character playing as sans. Since the sans has an unnatural ability to remember every resets, this ability is transferred to who is sans and gets multiplied as they'll remember not only the pov of every sans before, but of their own povs as other characters as well. This multiplication increases exponentially to the point that sans is basically an amalgamation of everyone's povs in the underground.
The Sanses are also proficient in all types of magic now (as the body allows of course [if in Sans bod he still tired with 1hp bro and Undyne sans is an absolute BEAST] and depending on who else has been sans before). This means that genocide fights get progressively harder and harder each time a reset happens and dialogue changes too depending on who is playing sans (pap genocides usually end pretty fast though [despite everything he thinks the human can do better]).
Eventually the randomization just so happens to land on the original configuration of monsters. Seeing his chance for it to go back to normal, Sans,  with everyone's pov of the resets, teleports to frisk at the beginning of the route and  confronts/begs frisk to stop the madness: pleading them to be better person (paps), to stop hurting the ones they love, to let them to finally live on the surface instead of just looking at it,  to just stop the resets altogether and to let this be their final reset.
After the final reset, Sans is still sans but he has EVERY monsters pov of past resets (boss and minor monster alike). Once the resets end, he isn't everyone shoved into one body, but sans with a recollection of everyone's pov of past resets. IT IS NOT D.I.D!!!! Of course he knows that he himself is sans, but he might have random episodes where he does/says things that other characters would say/like/do (ex: pose like mettaton, make a puzzle, gush like alphys over his interests, drink tea...you get the idea) due to him being forced to play as other characters in other resets. (Other chars in the au don't have this happen to them cause they don't remember previous resets)
When he is talking about past experiences during the resets, he flips between pronouns and from first/third person (I, we, she, he, they) in order to get some of feelings across (I as Sans, we as everyone's pov of resets, and others as specific people's povs).
                                                   “Episodes”:
His episodes can be broken by a) someone telling him that's not how he is,  b) physical interference (ex: slap, tripping, sleep), c) him having a dissociating moment where he's like “wait a minute...”, and d) he finishes the action the episodes requires of him.
Some episodes are harder to recognize (specially ones with no final action/goal in mind. For example: getting anxious over social interaction like alphys vs making a butterscotch pie.) Episodes don't overlap each other, so he could be his sans personality while making a pie, making different jokes based on an interest change, or just extruding mettaton confidence/self-absorption).
There are certain episodes that he doesn't mind very often and will actually complete it even after he breaks out of it, specifically the task episodes like making pie/spaghetti/tea. He's learned to really like that stuff.
Some episodes that he particularly hates are when he acts/speaks like mettaton or temmie, nervously word vomits like alphys (cause there's no filter and he can say stuff he doesn't want to be said out loud [he a secretive guy]), and when he acts like Jerry because eewwwwww.
To apologize or explain his behavior after an episode he calls it the (insert character) in me or my inner (insert character).   "welp my inner toriel came out again..." "sorry, kiddo, that was just the undyne in me..."
Ones he hates or are improperly timed, he sometimes just insults the characters though. "f-ing mettaton..." "alphys I like you but whyyyyyy" "*gags* ...Jerry"
Types of episodes: social (acting or talking like someone), thoughts (interests or ideals) (he HATES this one the most as it makes him feel less like him), physical (task or long-lasting [long-lasting like dancing/ posing/working out]). (Keep in mind that social and physical episodes keep sans ideas/thoughts/interests intact, he just communicates them in a way another character would say them.) Specific social or physical episodes can be triggered with high emotions (though most of the time it's just random). Extreme anger can bring out the undyne in him, fear/nervousness alphys, adoration paps, depression nabstablook, worried for someone else toriel, and so on.
                                              Some Fun Facts:
Fun facts: Sans gets headaches after an episode where he acts/thinks like someone else. The severity usually depends on how long the episode is and how out of character is for him.
Fun facts 2: Following the logic of post reset sans, other characters playing as sans will think and act like the original char they are supposed to be but with sans personality. Unless episodes happen... (EX: Toriel goat jokes, undyne fish jokes.) So it leads to different character interactions where an undyne sans is more pissed off at frisk and more prone to violence. Paps sans more encouraging to be a better person. Other chars as sans also get episodes and headaches if they act like other chars other than themselves (disregarding sans cause they are supposed to be sans.).  Bruh does this get complicated...
Fun facts 3: The other char’s povs only start once frisk falls underground so sans doesn't know how toriel felt leaving ashore or pap waiting outside undyne’s house to join the royal guard. That means his episodes and knowledge of others chars reset feelings/actions during povs are strictly based upon the duration the timeframe that frisk is underground.
Fun facts.4: The sanses in all the reset always has a soft spot for paps. They know that he ain't their bro but the code just has that as a priority for the sans. (Paps as sans is like my bro loves me ;n;.)  They enjoy it when paps is playing alphys in genocide routes cause at least they know he won't die that route.
Fun facts 5: In an alternate version of this au when frisk ignores sans's plea for it to be their final route, sans would most likely snap and go crazy and just straight up try to murder the kid over and over again regardless if they were going to do a pacifist or geno route until they agree to his terms or until he dies (and he'll do it for all future resets [except for maybe pap sans???])  Who knows a Dusttale (see  @ask-dusttale ) might even happen but the version of sans would feel less guilty bout it cause most other char povs would only confirm that other characters would just want frisk to suffer.
Fun fact 6: In another happier alternate version of this au, a version of sans confronts frisk earlier on, making them feel bad early and just wants everyone to go back to normal. So they constantly reset until they find the normal config for the final reset. The Sanses  in this route are pretty chummy with frisk. They are very tired of the resets regardless though (as it takes forever to land on the normal configuration) and sometimes halfheartedly bets with frisk who the next sans is going to be. The resets where everything is normal except for one monster are especially soul crushing for both the Sanses and frisk. They were so close!!!!!
                                                    Designs:
For the design of another chars as sans they might go out of their way in the assets and wear sans classic jacket to showcase that they are a sans and are aware of what's going on. So their normal outfits but with sans jacket on top.
Interesting info of  probability of a normal config happening in the randomizer:
~58 enemy types so 3364 (0.000297265% of normal config)
Or
~322 monsters total so 103684 configurations (0.0000096446896% of normal config)
(let me know if I did the math incorrectly :) )

Hey I originally followed you for YOI stuff and since that seems to be on haitus, I have seen you and a lot of people rebloing stuff about a different anime or manga (i think) with different mlm relationships? I think they're two diff shows and I've heard about mdzs before. But lately youve been reblogging stuff from a manga tagged tgcf and it looks pretty cool--so i was wondering how I could get into it and what its about? Does it have actual gay charas?
Hello! I’m sorry for the late response! This morphed from a simple answer into a beginner guide of sorts, so I hope you don’t mind! I know there’s like 500000 guides out there, but I figured I’d give it a shot too! ❤
So the stuff you’ve been seeing everywhere is indeed MDZS or related to it–including on my own blog! (I promise when YOI comes back from war, I’ll be all over that again ;o;!!!)
So these works are all by the same author, Mò Xiāng Tóng Xiù (MXTX) and they are separate danmei (i.e. Chinese BL) novels, though they share a lot of similarities between them:
MDZS (Mó Dào Zǔ Shī) – Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation
TGCF (Tiān Guān Cì Fú) – Heaven Official’s Blessing
SVSSS – Scum Villian’s Self-Saving System
All of them are complete and fan translated, and I’ll answer your last question first: yes, they have actual gay characters! In the novels, the main couples end up canonically married! \o/ In some of the adaptations, their romantic relationships are also maintained (e.g. the manhuas (Chinese graphic novel)), though censorship is present.
Links will be added below this post! Grab some popcorn, this is long!

MDZS《魔道祖师》is definitely the most popular work by MXTX, as it has the most adaptations. You’ve almost certainly been seeing gifs and photosets from its donghua (Chinese animation) or live action the most. However, it has a manhua and audio drama (in both Chinese and Japanese) as well!
Synopsis: Reviled as the infamous Yiling Laozu, Wei Wuxian harnessed the forbidden dark power of demonic cultivation. Once the cultivation world decided he was too dangerous to leave alone, he was hunted down, and a terrible battle ensued that cost Wei Wuxian his life—and the lives of many others. 13 years later, he is resurrected under mysterious circumstances into the body of the pariah Mo Xuanyu. Now with this second chance at life (and while hiding his real identity), Wei Wuxian has to uncover the truth about a powerful malevolent spirit. It may just be the key to revealing a series of heinous secrets hidden from the cultivation world for years. And while the world may still hate him for crimes he didn’t commit, there’s one person who’s on his side—the illustrious Hanguang-jun, Lan Wangji—and is willing to stand by him against all odds. The two have a long and complex history, and Wei Wuxian is unsure of Lan Wangji’s motivations for helping him. But it couldn’t be more simple: respect and love.

The great thing about MDZS is that you can really pick your poison in terms of what adaptation you want to get started with. If you are absolutely brand-new to the danmei scene, then starting with the donghua or manhua may be your best bet (both are ongoing). The novel of course is the most beloved, being the source, but all the adaptations have their own charms! They’re all worth checking out, and will keep you busy for quite a while.
・:*:・゚’★🌸TGCF🌸★・゚’・:*:・
Now, for TGCF《天官赐福》—that’s where my photosets are coming from: the ongoing manhua that started in October. There’s a donghua planned for late this year, and a live action in talks (info about that is largely unknown, but is slated for production sometime after the donghua release). TGCF actually has the same deal structure as MDZS apparently, so we’ll be getting an audio drama as well if that’s true.
Synopsis: Talented and virtuous, Crown Prince Xie Lian first ascended to the heavens when he was only 17. Once the darling of the earth and heavens for his boundless skill and purity of heart, he ended up falling from grace—not once, but twice! Subsequently, he became the laughing stock of the three realms. Spending almost 800 years roaming the earth and collecting scraps, he becomes known as the pitiful “rubbish god” and “god of misfortune.” No one could have expected Xie Lian to ascend for a third time, but fate seems to have something in store for this disgraced yet compassionate immortal. Thankfully, he is not alone, as the widely-feared ghost king, Hua Cheng, seems to have a special interest in helping him. The two of them embark on a series of adventures that unravel the secrets of their world, and of themselves.

The novel for TGCF is a great place to start, especially considering how the manhua is still in it’s early stages (just starting it’s 2nd arc as of writing this post). The novel is long, incredibly well-written, and well-translated. The manhua is absolutely stunning, and follows the novel very closely thus far.
・:*:・゚’★🎋SVSSS🎋★・゚’・:*:・
The underrated sibling of the three, SVSSS《人渣反派自救系統 》has only the novel to interact with for right now. A donghua is planned for this year. There was a manhua, but it was cancelled due to some problems with the publisher afaik. Word on the street is that they’re searching for a new team for it, so we’ll continue to pray!!!
Synopsis: Shen Yuan is an avid reader of the web novel Proud Immortal Demon Way. The novel revolves around the protagonist Luo Binghe, a kind child who is tormented endlessly by his Shizun (teacher/mentor) Shen Qingqiu, until he turns into a powerful demon lord and exacts his violent revenge. While initially a fan of the story, Shen Yuan hates the unsatisfactory ending. Upon dying suddenly, he finds himself transmigrated into the novel, at the behest of The System—a sci-fi interface which gives him missions and directives. Unfortunately, he ends up in the place of the cruel Shen Qingqiu out of all people! This new Shen Qingqiu now has to use his knowledge of the novel to navigate around the plot, within the restrictions that The System has implemented. He has to find a way to ensure a better ending, if he wants to keep this second chance at life. His plan for doing this is to be as kind and encouraging as possible to the innocent Luo Binghe, who quickly takes a shine to this new Shen Qingqiu. Even after forced to the dark side, and despite the tension between them after this, Luo Binghe won’t let anyone else touch his beloved Shizun.

SVSSS only really has the novel to interact with as of right now. There’s currently an excellent re-translation in progress by tumblr user Faelicy! If you want to get started now, however, you can read what she’s done so far and then swap over to the old translation afterward.
