I actually wanted to do something big for the QSMP anniversary. I made the base of a drawing on my chalkboard, I collected egg shells, and I was going to make each cc. I even bought paint and collected cardboard for a model. But seeing how the project is suffering so many blows, I lost the spirit I had. I hope a few sincere words are enough.

The QSMP is a project that seeks to unite communities of different languages with something we all love: Minecraft
Now, is that all? Has QSMP achieved what it wanted to achieve?

Yes, in fact, he has achieved even more. I have had the joy of being close to so much evidence of how much this project has achieved.

I am a fan of using Facebook (like a fucking old man, I know) and the "QSMP International" group, where I have had the joy of seeing English speakers, Spanish speakers, Portuguese speakers, and French speakers talking in comments, sharing lore information, and even chatting.
As a reader and writer of fanfics, I have come across all nationalities speaking in comments on Wattpad and Ao3, either about how much they liked the story or even sharing a little of their culture to improve the fanfiction experience.

But even more than for the fandom, it must be seen for the creators. As someone from the fandom once said, Quackity managed to bring together people from different languages and put them together on a single server, but it didn't stop there. It made people who would never have met in any other way become friends.
¿Do you like GuapoDuo, BuildDuo, HideDuo, DeathDuo, or MisclickDuo? Because I love them, and they have one thing in common: without QSMP, none of them would have happened.

Because now we know that they are people who are friends and who have made changes in their lives thanks to these new friendships. Enigma do Medo will have Spanish dubbing thanks to the great friendship between Cellbit and Roier. Charlie learns Spanish to speak better with Mariana.
Would all this have happened if it hadn't been for QSMP? Maybe, but you never make changes as quickly as when you have a reason—that is, Foolish was already learning Spanish before QSMP—but are you going to tell me that being there hasn't paid off?

QSMP stopped being just a project, because something that is "just a project" would never have changed so many lives for the better in this way.
I don't know the words to use; not everything is fine and things have changed in ways we didn't expect, but I feel that something that has changed so many lives both inside the server and outside of it is not just a project. QSMP is a community in and of itself. QSMP is... it's everything; it has given us joy and laughter as well as tears and anger. QSMP gave me a reason to live; it gave me new friends and a new way of looking at life. QSMP is an inspiration. And there are so many things that I don't feel like there are ever enough words to describe everything that this project is.
I love QSMP, and I will be forever grateful to Quackity for creating it.

I could not thank enough to Leo for everything she did for me, because she is the main reason I started following and watching all the others ccs that I love today.
I started watching the qsmp with Vegetta as my main pov because he is usually my main when he is in a server with other people (Rubius also was my main but he only entered a couple of times lol), because I didn't know really well the english-speaking creators, just for some bits I saw from a couple of them when the the squidcraft 2 happened and because the accents of some of them (foolish and phila specifically) were really hard for me to understand.
Days passed and Vegetta started interacting and hanging more with foolish, because everyone used to told him that he was an amazing builder and they should be rivals because of that, but it actually went the other way around.
When the egg event happened and these two sillies got together I couldn't be more happier because I know Veg struggles with English and he gets frustrated a lot because of that, but foolish was always patient with him, and even he was making an effort in speaking Spanish only for him!
So because of her I was able to meet Foolish and discover the incredible person he is.
Because of her I was able to meet Badboyhalo and follow his adventures with Dapper and the rest fo the eggies
Because fo her I was able to meet Philza and follow the story of this old crow and the two eggs that stoled his heart
Because of her I was able to meet Mariana and Slime, and follow this two misclickers in their journey of love, forgiving and moving on
Because of her I was able to meet Fit and fall in love with his relationship with his son and their chenanigangs in the island
Because of her I was able to meet better Roier and Jaiden, their story with Bobby and everything that came after that
Because of her I was able to meet Cellbit, learn a whole ass language from zero and even make me get into RPGs when I was the #1 hater of tabletop games
Because of her I was able to go and rewatch Tubbo again, and this time I'm gonna stay with the tubblings until the end
Because to her I stared following Etoiles and Baguera, and even if I still struggle with french, I know that one day I will be as fluent as with Portuguese
I've been following her story since the first day until the very last, I've seen this little egg grow from the little shy baby that was always apart from everyone to the iconic, fabulous and charismatic girl she became.
That's why I broke when I saw that room full of memories and started thanking foosh and bad for everything, because I knew this was gonna be the last time I would see this little egg hanging around, the egg that started everything for me and changed my whole life from that first day, and she would have a space my heart forever.
I could not thank enough Leo for everything she did for me, and her story will be with me until the rest of my days.

What are ur language hcs for Rody? I've seen ppl hc him speaking languages like Spanish, Italian, Portuguese or Dutch, so I'd like to know if there's any language u particularly like to hc him speaking. Also is there anything u want to say about the language Othenic that u made for ur last fic? Does it sound like any existing language or did u not put much thought into it?
okay, let me try this again now that I've had a day to rage about tumblr deleting my original reply kasdjfa
OKAY
Simpler answer first-- When I wrote in the "othenic" language, I never really thought of phrases or words for it, it's just another lesser know language of the world. My head imagines to have a sort of heavier touch on consonants, like Maya or Nahuatl, and a certain speaking rhythm that would make it sound musical, similar to Irish or Italian. But no actual phrases.
I headcanon Otheon having its own language typically, with English as the sort of European tether (as I've noticed in european media. Most people have like conversational English down pretty early on). HOWEVER---
So, when I saw Otheon in WHM, I sort of gasped and teared up a little bit because it looks so similar to my city in Mexico. The colorful houses, the tin roofs, the mountainous region with trees.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To the left is Sierra Ventana, where one of my great grandmas lives. I visit her every time I go to Mexico (hold on I think I even have photos I took last summer because the Rodydeku brainrot had already gripped me by the throat)
Tumblr media
Ta-da!!! the view from my abuelita's patio!
So, of course I started projecting a lot of Mexican culture concepts onto Rody. That's why in "To End Up with You" he uses the phrase "Pampa nimitzlazohtla nochi no yollo." It's actual Nahuatl, one of the native tongues of Mesoamerica (the Aztecs, specifically). Like, yeah, he's European, but what if, y'know?
Okay, so now a deeper nosedive into my Rody Soul analysis.
I feel like we all forget that Rody was kinda rich before his dad was killed, so I think he managed to get a bit of schooling before they were run out. That makes me think that he had to be bi or trilingual at a young age, maybe not perfectly, but for sure enough to get by, especially on the streets.
Add to that the fact that a lot of europeans learn multiple languages because of how close so many other countries are to each other and how easy it is to travel between them (it's like an hour??? hello??? I drive an hour, I'm still in my fucking CITY).
I think I do kind of have Spanish and French as a given because of that, I mean they're very popular languages. And then Italian is pretty easy to comprehend if you know those two since the three are very intertwined and similar. Portuguese is super similar to Spanish as well, just with a throatier sound (like the French), so I think he'd at least be able to understand those at a surface level.
Of course, I headcanon he teaches himself Japanese because of Izuku, and since I'm teaching myself (with duolingo and some workbooks and music ksjfka), that's why I'm so specific about Rody being better about understanding when he hears it slowly, but not really being able to read Kanji much less write it. Also why Roro is a bit better at speaking it than Rody (living where the language is spoken really forces you to figure it out lmfao); he's had way more practice. Actually, if you pay attention, when Izuku describes Roro speaking, he describes it as proper, over-pronounced, and a bit choppy. But when Rody describes it, he considers it very flowy, even if it's not as fast as Izuku's. That was just the perspective since Izuku of course is a native speaker and Rody is just really fascinated with how quick his brother picked it up.
ALSO because English is a learned language in Otheon in my headcanon, I imagine that Rody also has an accent when speaking English!!!! And of course Izuku has one as well. I love accents. I love cultures. I love languages. And I love this couple because of how much I get to play with that, especially with expressions of affection, things lost in translation, creating a new language to let them say things. Like the Nahuatl Rody speaks, he describes as something you say to suggest a bond, a deep-rooted connection, etc. But the literal translation is "Te quiero con todo mi corazon" which, again, can't even be correctly translated into English since there's no word for "te quiero." Though the closest would be "I love you with my whole heart."
I also think Rody would love to learn other languages when he becomes a pilot, like at least enough to have a conversation even if he can't exactly read or write it, which is why I added Arabic and Hindi to the fic when he talks about languages. I think he'd want to get a good grasp on some of the most spoken languages in the world. I also think he'd like to learn Hebrew and Greek just because I think they're really pretty.
God, there's so many languages, and in a perfect world, he'd know them all at least a little, but ah well. I do think he'd really admire other languages, Dutch, German, Swahili, and all the ones that don't get quite as much love, you know?
Ahhhhh this is really long, but I hope I make sense. I hope you enjoyed reading this very long answer lmfao <3

50 (+3) Facts About My Rook Listener (aka Félix)!
Because I love him in a hiperfocus kind of way 😭💙 If you want to see how he looks like, go to my yuurivoice tag, and you will find all my listeners! Although I probably should make an updated version, he has gotten a 2.0 version ever since... Also, tagging @itsargyle since they suggested taking other YV fans! I'm... Too shy to tag anyone else tho lmao
Anyway, here goes my big infodump on my favorite sunshine boy:
1 - Hey, I'm Félix Torres... Or not, because that's my middle name, and my actual name is Victor. But I'm not that fond of Victor, so I go by Félix!
2 - Victor was my mom's grandpa's name, and Félix is a tribute to my dad, whose name was Feliciano.
3 - Thanks to the acute accent, the correct pronunciation of Félix would be "feh-liks", not "fee-liks". Oh, and the "c" in Victor is mute. It's Vitor. But sometimes even I forget that it isn't supposed to be spelled like the gringos do, haha!
4 - My mom is Brazilian and my dad was Colombian. I was born in Brazil (Aracaju in Sergipe, to be more specific), but have been living in the USA for most of my life now. I used to spend the holidays in Colombia as a kid, but haven't been there ever since dad passed away... I really should pay it a visit again soon, though. It's a real nice country.
5 - I speak native Portuguese, fluent English and intermediary Spanish. I've been studying ASL (as of right now I just know basic stuff like "hi", "how are you?", how to introduce myself... But hey, at least I know the whole alphabet off the top of my head!) and French too, but it has been hard to find some free time... And when I do have it, I always end up drawing, crafting, cooking... Duolingo's owl wants to eat my ass.
6 - Speaking of which, these are my favorite hobbies! Drawing and painting are main passions in life, though. I've been in love with art as far as I can remember. I was in a few-years-long hiatus when it came to painting, only came back to it recently, but have been drawing non-stop ever since I was a little boy!
7 - When it comes to crafting, I enjoy many aspects of it... I've been really into papercraft these days. Origami, paper dolls, collages... But I also really like jewelry making and fabric painting (even if I find it so damn hard, haha!). I just love personalizing things in general. Sometimes, I see a piece of furniture, have an idea and just have to put my personal touch.
8 - I also know how to sew, but I can't say that I'm a big fan. I've tried crochet once, per example, and almost fell asleep on the couch. It's just a bit boring to me... But I'll gladly sew back a button or fix a hole if you ask nicely!
9 - And, last but not least, I love cooking! Not as much as I love to eat, but anyway. I picked up cooking as a way to deal with my pyrophobia and to bond with my uncle (he owns a restaurant!), and really took a liking to it... And modesty aside, I'm damn good at it!
10 - Speaking of which... I'm a bit of a bottomless pit when it comes to food! I'll eat (mostly) anything, am willing to try (mostly) everything and am hungry 24/7. Please, feed me.
11 - My favorite food is kind of specific, but: I love Thanksgiving pies. And breakfast foods. But anything that's chicken or has corn is also very damn good.
12 - I don't really like fruits. Most of them feel either bland (apples taste like NOTHING!) or straight up gross. I hate, HATE peach. Mango, guaba and pineapple too. Disgusting. I'm team vegetables all the way. Lemon and watermelon are the only ones that get a pass.
13 - My favorite ice cream favorite is chocomint!
14 - When it comes to drinks... I like coffee, as long as it has milk and unholy amounts of sugar (hate bitter coffee, as contradictory as it is). And while I'm not too big on alcoholic drinks, I like champagne.
15 - I also like biking, but, much like studying ASL and French, I don't have enough free time nowadays to really get into it again... But I try to bike every weekend I can!
16 - As a kid, I was in singing classes! I really enjoyed it and was pretty decent at it, but nowadays I do it just for fun. Love singing and listening to music around the house while doing other things.
17 - I have eight tattoos on total: Flower sleeves on both arms (featuring a clock among the flowers on the left arm and a bird on the right), music player symbols on the left side of my chest, "keep going" on the right side, an anchor on my upper back, a sun and a crescent moon on my lower back, a sea monster's tentacles going through my right hip and a paper plane on my left ankle!
18 - I also have a bunch of moles. On my face, on my back and on my chest. I used to be embarrassed by them, but nowadays, not nearly as much.
19 - I have been dyeing my hair blonde ever since college. I'm actually a brunette! I like being a blondie, but I'm considering going back to my roots... My hair is screaming for help. [He goes back to being a brunette and lets his hair grow after the events of Escape]
20 - Oh yeah, speaking of college... I have a Law degree. And am working on this field. Ya-hoo... Unfortunately, I needed a more lucrative career to support my family. But my long-term life goal is to be able to quit and live from art! And I like to believe I'm almost there.
21 - I pierced my ears in college too! I usually only wear my lucky sun earrings, but if I'm feeling fancy, I can go with a larger one.
22 - I considered becoming an English major for a while, but didn't happen either.
23 - I have a weird love for plaid jackets (of any color, but especially blue ones) and grungy bracelets. If you wanna give me anything that's wearable, going with either of these is the safest bet! Can't ever have enough of these!
24 - My favorite animals are octopuses (I had an obsession with sea monsters as a kid and this love never really died) and peacocks (they're just awesome)!
25 - My lucky number is sixteen, because my birthday is on February 16th, and because if you put "Félix Victor" together, there's a sixteen in Roman numerals right in the middle: XVI!
26 - Also, I'm 30 as of 2024, and... It's terrifying, to be honest. Buuut I'll find comfort on the fact that I look like I'm 20, hehe.
27 - This one will be hard to explain, but... I really like the sun. From summer to sunflowers to sun imageries... I like the sun. And all because of my dad. It's a long history, but yeah.
28 - I have a younger sister, her name is Alice! She's in college right now, she's History major! And... She's my pride and joy.
29 - And I also have five younger cousins: Ariel, Rafael, Leon, Joyce and Mercedes! I love them all, they're like my siblings. [Joyce is actually my Sunflower listener!]
30 - I... Have a... Weird relationship with my mom. It has been getting worse these last few years... Ah, nevermind, I shouldn't have brought this up.
31 - I had three relationships in my life... Well, three and a half, if you count that high school fling, but I digress: My first boyfriend lasted, like, half a year of my freshman year in college. It was nice, we just realized quickly that neither of us were serious. And my second boyfriend... Ergh. Tristan. We began dating in my junior year, and had a pretty messy break-up right after my graduation...
32 - ...But, nearly a whole decade after that, he sent me a DM on Instagram asking me how I was, and I mistakenly thought he became a decent human being. Hell, he was the one who got me my current job. He works in the Marketing department and was kind enough to tell me that Legal was hiring. I thought that we could at least be friends again, but... He's still a pain in the ass, at the end of the day. And still wants me back. ERGH...
33 - ...But, actually, I should thank him for that. Ironically, by trying to get back with me, he got me my third and current boyfriend... And... I won't talk too much about our relationship, but... This is the happiest I've ever been with someone. I mean it.
34 - Ok, how do I say this? I... Have been told that I... Have a pretty high libido. Or, if you want to be meaner, I'm a horny bastard. I... Will not elaborate if that's true or not. [It Is Literally Canonical]
35 - But even if I WAS a horny bastard, I'm a romantic at heart, believe it or not! I like being swept off my feet! I like flowers! I like cheesy pick-up lines! I like cuddles, god, I really like cuddles... Anyway.
36 - I'm a petite lil' guy. I'm 1m69cm tall... Or 5'8ft.
37 - I have ADHD. I was diagnosed when I was 20. I've been taking meds to help with my lack of focus, and it really has been helping.
38 - I also have insomnia. It isn't as bad as it was a few years ago, but it still sucks.
39 - My favorite song of all time is "Don't Stop (Color on the Walls)" by Foster The People!
40 - My favorite movie of all time... It's a tie between Footloose and Burlesque.
41 - My favorite animated movie of all time is Ponyo!
42 - My MBTI is ENFP, my Enneagram is 2w3, and I'm an Aquarius!
43 - In my opinion, my biggest strengths as a person are that I'm pretty charming, I can get along with nearly any kind of person (given enough time), and that I'm notoriously hard to piss off. As long as you're not messing with my loved ones, it takes A LOT to make me actually angry.
44 - And my weaknesses... Well, I let people get away with stepping all over me pretty frequently... And I'm very restless. And I don't mean only physically, I mean like... Mentally. I feel like I'm a shark: If I stop moving, I'll die, y’know? Oh, I've been told that I can be pretty shameless and a bit nosy... And, welp. I... Can't really deny that.
45 - I hate the cold. I hate winter. I hate snow. Fuck you, northern hemisphere.
46 - I really like sitting on the floor, ever since I was a little boy. It just... Grounds me. No pun intended.
47 - My favorite color is blue, but yellow and orange are also lovely... And I've been getting real fond of red these days. Hehe (Can't believe that it took me this long to say my favorite color, we're on fact 47th...).
48 - I'm a dog person! I never got to have one, though...
49 - I, not-so-secretly, really like cute things. I may or may not have a big octopus plushie on my bed. And may or may not love Pompompurin and Gudetama.
50 - I'm overall pretty confident on my looks... Except for my smile and my laugh. My ex-boyfriend (Tristan) once said that my smile is wide enough to be scary, and my mom said that my laugh is too loud, and I've been restraining myself from truly smiling and laughing out loud in public ever since. But I tend to let go when near people I trust.
51 (bonus!) - I have a very sensitive neck... Now, if I see it as a good thing or a bad thing... Depends on what your intentions are... If you know what I mean.
52 (bonus!)² - I'm also pretty great at typing. My words per minute game is insane, modesty aside.
53 (bonus!)³ - I... Can be a little bit jealous when I'm dating someone. I was never a pain in the ass about it, I mostly just sulk in silence, but... Yeah. It's my toxic trait.

Some Alfred and Alexia Ashford headcanons, but not related to twincest.
Sure! And you know what? I wanted to do some general headcanons for a while anyway.
Alfred
His full name is Alfred Edward Arthur Hamish Ashford.
Alfred’s IQ as an adult is high enough to be considered a genius.
Alfred likes his coffee black with a bit of sugar. He prefers tea to coffee, though.
He’s an early bird, he likes to get up early and go to bed early. However, in reality, Alfred usually gets up early, goes to bed late, and is often somewhat sleep deprived. Sometimes, he takes a nap in his office when he is too tired.
He tried to grow a beard once, which ended after a couple of weeks with some stubbles here and there. Nothing you could consider a beard. He has very little body hair in general.
He studied business administration and graduated as the best student of the year.
He’s a walking war and military history book.
Alfred owns a massive WWI and WWII-themed collection, which includes various models and original pieces from all parties. He has collectibles from other eras too. The models are from tanks, planes, armored vehicles, ships, larger weapons, and so on. Good amounts of them are self-made scale models. Alfred is very skilled in this regard. One of his maids kind of gained a friendship status by asking him frequently about the history of his collectibles.
Alfred is a decent pianist. He never had any lessons, everything is self-taught. There is still a lot of room for improvement, though.
Alfred speaks 12 languages besides English (Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Japanese, Mandarin, Russian, Arabic, Indian, Polish, Swedish) more or less well, some even on the level of a native speaker and almost accent-free. He can’t write and read all of them, but at least he understands them and has a rather broad vocabulary and some basic grammar skills. His favorite language is Italian. Learning them resulted partially from his own interest, partially it was work-related, and partially he picked them up from the mercenaries. Learning new languages was always easy for him.
Harman cared for Alfred like his own son after Alexia went to her cryogenic sleep. Alfred appreciated his kindness even though he never saw him as a father figure. Still, he treated Harman a lot better than he treated his other employees. Harman was even allowed to criticize Alfred openly without fearing for his life.
Harman hated what kind of monster Alfred had become over the years, even though he never saw the worst of Alfred. He partially blamed himself for it.
Alfred did not immediately develop his split personality after Alexia was gone. It started when he was around 20. At first, it was less frequent and less intense, but later it happened more often. The intensity increased too. Most of the time, he was still there, more or less, even when he wasn’t in control. Later he sometimes had total blackouts for minutes to hours when he switched completely to “Alexia”. After Alexia returned and he started visiting a therapist, his condition improved significantly. He still has it occasionally, especially when he is stressed, and it will probably stay forever to some extent, but at least the blackouts are gone.
He has problems distinguishing between the real Alexia and his alter ego.
Alfred is quite popular among the UBCS soldiers. Despite the intense training, they have a rather good life on Rockfort Island because he invests a lot of money to fulfill their basic desires. (Actually, it’s not his money, it’s Umbrella’s money, Alfred is just good at bargaining.) The only requirement is that the soldiers follow his rules. And since Alfred loves collective punishments, that’s not too hard to enforce. The soldiers keep each other in check.
Alfred rarely interacts with the lower-ranking soldier unless he has to. It is below him. Some have never even seen him the entire time they were on Rockfort Island. However, he is less aloof with the higher-ranking soldiers. When he’s in a good mood, he even has a few drinks with them.
The giant worm is his pet. Umbrella had little interest in this BOW, too impractical for broader use. They said Alfred could have it if he wanted it. No one knows how Alfred tamed it, but it is friendly toward him and even follows simple orders.
And because Alfred is a sick fuck, have some darker headcanons too.
Most prisoners on Rockfort Island are there for interrogation. Once this is over, Umbrella doesn’t need them anymore. Obviously, they can’t let them go, so they often become test subjects, or the UBCS can use them for training. As long as they die, Umbrella doesn’t care too much about how it happens. This means Alfred can do whatever he wants with most of the prisoners.
Watching Alexander suffer after Alexia infected him filled Alfred with joy. He could have watched this for hours while smiling from ear to ear. At first, he thought it was because he finally got his revenge, but the warm feeling returned when a worker had a fatal accident in front of him.
He tortured and killed a couple of prisoners himself. It was messy, and he realized that he preferred watching rather than doing it. Then he started using other prisoners for it. He promised to let them go if they would do what he said. A lie, obviously, but they often fell for it. Or he paid the mercenaries. Most have little to no morals anyway, and it is easy work for good money. This went on until he found Enoch Stoker (the anatomist). The guy clearly wasn’t right in his head, but he was intelligent, well-educated, and most importantly, he did everything Alfred wanted. Not only that he enjoyed it. The two even became something like friends.
Alfred sometimes recorded everything, but these snuff movies never gave him the same satisfaction as live performances.
War isn’t the only topic he has a lot of knowledge about. He’s also an expert in historic torture methods and outdated medical procedures from all around the world. Alfred is aware that he probably can’t replicate all of them, but he can try.
He tried to get into big-game and trophy hunting. The animals in his mansion are his kills. Soon Alfred realized that animals don’t do it for him. He preferred prey that was more intelligent. Alfred has a private hunting ground on Rockfort Island. Stronger prisoners have a good chance of visiting it instead of his torture chamber. (His aim is a lot better when he has slept well.) He owns a mare, which he often rides while hunting.
Alexia
Her full name is Alexia Veronica Elisabeth Nora Ashford.
The cryogenic sleep made her age slower. Physically she’s about 20 years old, not 27. Mentally she obviously didn’t age during that time.
Due to the mutations from the virus, Alexia can lift 40 times her body weight like an ant.
The twins have a cook, but when Alexia has time for it, she likes doing it herself. It reminds her a bit of working in a lab. She always wears safety glasses while cooking, possible helpers must wear them too. Her cooking is pretty good.
She doesn’t like sweets particularly. Sometimes it’s ok, but most of the time, she requests fruits as dessert.
Caffeine junkie. She likes her coffee with milk and without sugar.
Alexia loves opera, musicals, ballet, and concerts. She’s a good singer herself.
She is a night owl. Her sleeping schedule is slightly better than her brother’s, but not by much. She often stays up way too long and regrets it in the morning.
Alexia loves invertebrates. Ants are her favorites, but she loves other ones too. She has a large room where she keeps various species of invertebrates as pets in hundreds of enclosures. Alexia also has some beehives and started making her own honey.
She has collected porcelain dolls since childhood but has never played with them. Some are very old and rare. Her first doll was a gift from her surrogate mother. Alexia only knows this because Alexander told her so.
Alexia thought about getting into wine growing. Alfred loves wine, she loves wine, and she is generally interested in the process. So why not buy a suitable piece of land and hire some people to grow her own wine?
Alexia completed her studies mainly by distance learning. She attended the university only for exams and other events where she had to be present in person. The practical work was done in a lab in Antarctica that Alexander had built specifically for this purpose. She was still too small to work in a regular lab. After some inspections, the university allowed it. Alexia finished her Ph.D. with an A+. Her examiner didn’t go easy on her, but the defense was a breeze for Alexia regardless.
She secretly admired William Birkin. His achievements impressed her and gave her more motivation to work harder and outdo him. Alexia only met him once in person at an Umbrella intern conference shortly after she started working for them. He wasn’t very friendly, but they still debated until 4 a.m. (Alexander wasn’t with her). Both enjoyed it. Birkin would never admit it, though.
Alexia hoped Birkin would get along better with her, but she would never ingratiate herself. If he hates her, then so be it. Apparently, it doesn’t stop him from having elaborate conversations with her.
The last time she cried was when she was a baby.
She lacks a bit sense of shame. She is also uncomfortably direct in conversations, no sugarcoating, no lies to not hurt someone’s feelings.
She likes to try out new things. Even if she doesn’t like them in the end, the experience is still worth it.
Alexia has started to act more and more childish at times around people she is familiar with. As a child, she was dead serious. That’s how she was brought up, that’s what people expected of her. But now, she’s an adult, rich, and can do whatever she wants. And if necessary, Alexia can switch back to serious in a matter of seconds.
Alexia is fascinated by mundane things, like supermarkets. She never had these in Antarctica, and during the rare occasions Alexander took her somewhere else, they stayed far away from such places.

Alfred was born first, Alexia 7 min later. Their birthday is the 27th of January, 1971.
Alexander took the DNA from Edward and Veronica to create the twins. That’s also where their second names are coming from.
They can read the other one so well that they can’t lie to each other. Sometimes it works for minor things, usually, it doesn’t.
Harman started his own investigations after Alexander’s disappearance. He found out what the twins did to him but never said anything. Harman thought it was unnecessarily cruel, and still, he could somewhat understand them. Despite his good intentions and all that he provided for them, Alexander was a terrible father. Harman felt sorry for the twins most of the time.
They tend to talk about other people who are right in front of them as if they are not there. They don’t mind if these people find it unpleased.
In any kind of competition, the twins never let the other win. They consider it disrespectful not to give 100%.
The twins often play chess together. When they were children, Alexia used to win all the time. Alfred improved a lot over the years, but he could never defeat her. As adults, it’s the opposite. Alexia tried many strategies, but she wasn’t able to beat Alfred once.
Alfred and Alexia started fencing as a hobby. Both are equally good. Often, they use the floret. Sometimes, they also try rapiers or sabers.
They like to travel and do sightseeing. Alexander rarely took them anywhere, and there wasn’t much to see in Antarctica.
Both work a lot. Alexia thought they could need more time to relax, so she introduced a spa day for them once a month. She also hoped that it would have a positive effect on Alfred’s mental health.
Alexia drags Alfred into everything that sparks her interest, like museums or theaters, and, to his dismay, into amusement parks, shopping malls, or supermarkets as well. Sometimes he can convince her not to go there, but not very often. If she really wants it, he gives in and accompanies her. Alfred’s worst experience so far was when Alexia dragged him into a strip club.

As an average Greek who hates dubbing with a passion and is fiercely proud we never do it in Greece save for animated films, I still find this interesting enough to post it, so you can get an idea if your language is in there. As Maestro is the first Greek show bought by Netflix, it has already gotten dubbed in several languages (here Italian, Spanish, Turkish, English and Brazilian Portuguese so far, and French subtitles) and will be up internationally in early 2023. (Of course the original Greek audio with subtitles will also be available.)
I am not only against dubbing in general but also in specific because there are several peculiarities here:
the show has to do with music and features one of the greatest singers we have as well, are they all gonna speak a random language and then all of a sudden break out singing Greek songs? I dunno, weird, again, we don't do live action dubbing at all here and I can't easily go past such stuff. Or... are they gonna dub the songs? There's no way they will put THAT much work on it right? Don't tell me Haris Alexiou singing is gonna get dubbed RIGHT?
Fanis Mouratidis and Antinoos Albanis have such... ehm... "radio" voices, it's a pity to miss them out
Why on earth does the English acrtess for 19 year old Klelia sound 50 years old?!
Dubbing, even when it's great, always subtracts points from the acting performance. A good actor doesn't only look the part, but sounds the part as well. I mostly say this for Kavogianni's performance.
I will say though that the job done seems far better than what I expected, and I can hear the vocal actresses try to approach Kavogianni's nuances somewhat, that's good. The Brazilian actor for Tsortekis also seems good. Also very interesting that in at least some version they apparently kept Goulioti's original scream... good call ;)
P.S I hope that rumour of Netflix changing the name to "Maestro in Blue" because there is a Bradley Cooper movie called Maestro coming out next year and justifying it by saying it has more classic "Enjoy your summer in Greece" vibes this way is a joke.
Tumblr media
Honestly Netflix here's another idea, why don’t you call it Maestro With Souvlaki or Maestro under the Greek Sun or Maestro and the Gods of Olympus or something

Not going to lie chief the way usamericans, brits, and canadians expect every single queer person from different cultures to behave the exact same way they do and have the exact same culture they do is grating and annoying and makes me want to peel my skin off
The amount of times I had to explain to usamericans, as a brazilian, that many people from different languages use neopronouns out of necessity because there are NO GENDER NEUTRAL FUCKING PRONOUNS in languages like portuguese, spanish, french, etc only to be met with "well they're speaking ENGLISH so they HAVE TO do things OUR WAY"
The amount of times I was told to kill myself over having ele/dele in my bio, for being a "cringe neopronoun user who is making a mockery of REAL trans people", when that is just "he/his" in portuguese. Having to take their hand and explain how to put two and two together with the ele/dele, my posts in portuguese, and the brazilian flag in my bio, only for me to be told "how was I supposed to know? This is the internet. Speak english."
How many times have I seen latino transvestites and transexuals get harassed to the point of deletion over you gringos getting angry and upset over THEIR OWN IDENTITIES. Because you are all fucking nosy cunts who expect everyone to behave how YOU want them, expect them to exist how YOU want them to.
You're no different than the homophobes you claim to hate if you can't just leave people the fuck alone and hate them for being something your discourse poisoned brain can't handle. You fucking idiots need to learn to mind your god damned business and realize people are allowed to do whatever the fuck they want with their identities.
Sorry someone you never met using labels that make you "uncomfy uwu" to the point you need to cry about it and mock them online. You're a pathetic loser. Sorry someone being queer in a way that isn't up to your americanized standards isn't good enough for you so they're fake queers who need to be ostracized and dealt with. You're pathetic.
I fucking hate the usamericanization of queerness. You're all fucking boring.

In addition to English and Portuguese there is any mention of which languages Edward can speak? What about the other Cullens? At least Carlisle I imagine knows a lot, but Esme and Emmet, for example, I can't imagine themselves interested in learning other languages.
Google Translate
We don't know the whole list, to my remembrance, it's never discussed in full. We do know that presumably all the Cullens speak Spanish.
Jasper, obviously, spent a good while in Latin American and Texas but we also have Edward and Emmett acing Spanish and noting that the entire family aces Spanish when they take it. Are they fluent? Who knows, but they're certainly good enough to breeze through high school.
Jasper probably speaks Creole, maybe French, depends how far and exactly where Maria was picking up her recruits. Whether he can read and write in these languages is a different story. Likely Spanish he does fairly well in, given taking it in high schools since taking up the Cullen cherade.
Otherwise, I imagine Edward learns French in order to be sophisticated. "French is a much chiquer language, parlez vous francais," - A Little Night Music, Stephen Sondheim. He would consider reading romantic French poetry in the original language an absolute must. He must be very good at Portuguese as well, as he speaks to a woman in a very rural area in great distress and understands her. Now part of this may be her thoughts but given he’s able to easily ask questions, I’m leaning towards he knows it fairly well and can certainly converse intelegibly. Given this, Edward is probably fairly decent at a number of languages and I can see him learning several to pass the time. Though which languages he’s proficient in and how many he keeps up to date with are unknown.
Carlisle, per his original occupation as a priest, would know Latin and given the time period/his education status would know French. In Volterra, I imagine at the time they were speaking French (the then language of diplomacy) as well as Latin (the language of the sciences). Carlisle likely picked up Italian per spending 20 years in Italy and I can't imagine him not learning Greek if he didn't know it already. He likely knows many more languages, given he was in Italy to study and was in Volterra so long, however that gets into headcanon territory of guessing which of these would be most likely so I’m not going to rattle them off.
Worth noting that of the many people he met on his own before the Cullens, he didn’t seem to have issue conversing with them, even when they were unlikely to know English.
Esme probably hasn’t had too much practice since she was human, but I can imagine she studied some French in her schooling days. Rosalie, too, might have been educated somewhat in a foreign language in finishing school or however she was educated to prepare to enter society. They both have had runs through education afterwards (Esme doing university supposedly) so I imagine some language happened there. Though, again, how good they are at it is anyone’s guess.
As you note, though, I can’t imagine Emmett knowing that many languages or Esme for that matter.

rebs!! within europe, which country would you say have many polyglots?
i personally think it's italy bc i think people there understand 2/3 other languages beyond intermediate level? do you think italy provides solid language-learning system in schools (compared to your european counterparts)?
This is longer than I expected, I had many complaints to do lmao
Honestly, I have no idea... I think Italy sucks when it comes to teaching languages. I learned English by myself because in elementary school the English teacher was never the same and every year we basically did the same things over and over again. In middle school I had better teachers but I didn't have a base so I struggled a lot and one direction and tv series saved my ass. In high school we do grammar for the first two years and then the other three are just literature, so if you're fluent, you're fine, but if you're not, it's going to be hell. (Probably it depends on the professor too, mine was pretty strict and I found her funny and iconic only because I was good, but some of my friends that weren't fluent hated her a lot, and they were right)
We only do another language in middle school (either French or Spanish). I learned French but yeah... The professors were terrible, I only had a good one in the second year but it wasn't enough. I mean, I was better at French than English back then, but I hated it so much I almost completely lost all my knowledge after.
After middle school, if you want to study languages there's the "linguistic high school" but from what I know it's not like it's much better, especially for languages like German or Chinese.
In Italy there are some regions that have other official languages like French, German, and Albanian (don't know if it's official, but a lot of small countries in the east-south speak it).
I just think Italians are slick and most of the time speak with their bodies, and when it comes to understanding others we are not like French (sorry not sorry) and even if the pronunciation is not perfect we just think about getting to the point. Also, quoting that tweet that was popular saying "Portuguese, Spanish and Italian speakers understanding each other without speaking the same language" it's true. We have the same roots so for survival needs I think we can communicate pretty well, and at least understand what we're saying. Still, I don't think many of us are fluent in more than another language. But probably I'm thinking too much about the older generation, idk the younger ones seem to be more interested in languages, I think the Universities that involve languages are the most popular rn, so this could change in the next few years? But we are also a very old country (many old people and no newborns) so I don't think I'm wrong for now.
I would say Switzerland is the most polyglot because they speak Italian, French and German but it's based on the cantons, so I'm not sure they speak more languages in a single one. The other one is probably Germany. They seem like the most open-minded and also very global, but I don't know much about the school system.
In conclusion, I think that the Italian school system is just really hard and puts students under a lot of stress without making them accomplish a lot, and that involves languages too. I wish I was the only one, but if you ask young people where they learned English, 80% of them will answer like I did, on their own, with music, movies, and fanfictions... that tells you everything about how the system teaches languages. Also, I think that the ones speaking more languages are the mixed couples children (I'm one, but for reasons, my Spanish is hanging on a thin line) and the second generations' children that speak Italian, their parent's language, and one or two that they learn later on. But white Italians? Either they're passionate about it or they don't care. This is also why I talked about being open-minded, unfortunately, Italy is going through a very bad fascist turn of events again and foreign languages are seen as threats, the prime minister wants to fine people for using English words when they speak, and that's all from 1925. Not saying that if you don't speak other languages you're fascist, but that's another factor to consider when you analyze the way people act when it comes to the topic, you simply might not be good at that (just like some people are not good at math, or art and so on) but that doesn't give you the right to push foreign languages down or mock them, or treat people that spend time learning a new one as if they're stupid.
So what I'm thinking is, in the new generation there's a lot of us speaking more than 2/3 languages but I think at least 70% is because those are already the mother tongues (so Italian because they were born and raised here and then the one they speak with the family) the rest is taught at school but only if you want to learn them. Considering the oldest generation makes up most of this country, I still think we're losing compared to other places in Europe.
This turned into a rant, and you just learned to never ask me anything ever again I'M SO SORRY PLEASE FORGIVE ME
Also, can you explain why you think we're almost fluent in 2/3 languages? I'm curious to know why it looks like this on the outside.

i didn't realize i was being flirted with and the guy didn't speak my language - on speaking a minority language
hey folks, i hope you're fine! this week i have been going into cafés and bookshops and trying to tackle a little bit of writing. i always seem to flow better at those spaces, when i'm not home, as if my time was somehow more restricted and i had to make it worth it.
something happened on one of my outings, though. aside of not being able to write because a guy wanted to talk to me (and at that time, i thought he really wanted to talk to me. only when i explained it to other people i realized he might be flirting, which is sad, because we talked about writing and literature and it might have all been a bluff... anyways. i gave him my email and instagram cause i thought he was genuine but now i'm hesitant to answer, truly. i am so naive. look, i haven't been flirted with for 13 years. i don't realize these things.), this same guy was working on the café i was on. and so i approached and asked him, in my language: could you watch my bag while i go to the toilet?
and he looked at me, almost glaring, took out one of his buds from his ear, and said: "ENGLISH?"
Like, not even a "please". Not even "I don't understand". He requested English just like this. Just like... it was easy.
Some of you may know that I speak a minority language in a country that has TWO official languages: mine and Spanish. Not English, mind you. We know English because we learn it at school, same as fucking French.
Thing is: We can't speak our minority language anymore. I mean, we can, but people don't understand us. The policy of coming to our country is that everyoen is free to come (and everyone is! thank god for that) but that means that people learns the bigger language, which is Spanish. And, look, I mean, I could understand that. Maybe it's ignorance, maybe it's because it's easier, and a lot of people already know Spanish when they come, so why do they care about learning for a smaller language? (Well, then they'll record videos saying that we are not welcoming, that it's difficult to have relationships or friendships with people... I mean... You're forcing me to change my language but.) The thing is: Waiters don't understand us, people from shops, in the fUCKING DOCTOR i can't speak my language. And I'm not bilingual. I don't have the same ability with one language or another, because I speak my native tongue much more than I do Spanish. When I go to therapy, I need to ask beforehand if they speak my language.
Anyway, the thing is WE ARE LOSING OUR LANGUAGE and people that come here don't really care about it. Okay, globalisation, capitalisation, economisation.Fucking whatever.
But we have been living an age when there's also a lot of expats. And I mean A LOT. And they all use English as a common language and that's so... DISRESPECTFUL. Learn the fucking language of the country you're going to. They do this in all the countries they go, though. I get angry when Spanish people don't learn my language, because they would fucking learn portuguese if they went to Portugal, right? Or Germany. But Spanish is an official language, so I can understand their reasons. But to pressupose that people know English EVERYWHERE in the world... it's another level. It's so fucking disrespectful.
Honestly, I don't know why I engaged in conversation with him. He had just moved here (no knowledge of nothing, not even the neighbourhoods in the city. He wanted the experience. Okay) and I found him interesting because I always find people interesting. But I should have told him: NO ENGLISH. NO FUCKING ENGLISH. I'M NOT ENGAGING IN SOMEONE WHO MOVES BUT DOESN'T CARE TO LEARN MY LANGUAGE.
I've had enough. So disrespectful.

{ bruna marquezine, 27, cis woman, she/her } We are so glad to see you safe, PRINCESS MÁRCIA ORTIZ of SPAIN ! It’s dangerous out in the world these days, but I hear that you are OBSERVANT and ADAPTABLE enough to handle it. Just don’t let your SCEPTICISM bring you down! Stay on your guard, because with your secret being at risk for exposure, you wouldn’t want everyone to find out YOU'RE BLACKMAILING ROYALTY AND NOBILITY FOR MONEY .
birthday : june 10 orientation : bisexual title : princess of spain character inspo : inej ghafa ( six of crows ), mikasa (snk) , joel miller ( the last of us ) traits : languages : spanish, english, portuguese, french ( broken ) mbti : tba temperament : tba moral allignment : tba
background
your memories are faded, and sometimes blurry if you grant yourself the time to think about it.  but you do remember the cold, the way it etched into your palms, your bone. and it’d be only desperation that would allow you to replace it with another kind of bleakness. but there’s also a small hand holding onto you, wrapping around your finger and offering you the only warmth their freezing body could offer.  everyday you need to ask for your right to live. begging for food, money or sometimes just mercy of not being looked down on. but you keep going for the one you share your blood with. after all, you're their sister and you want to carry them home one day.  yet, it was only one day ( or a moment ) that would break that promise and eventually you. you return, a smile seeping through your tired features with the little money you got only to discover that they’re gone and you’d never return home again.  time passes, eroding seconds and your sanity. sometimes you wonder if your sibling ever existed at all. and even when you’re taken in by the ortiz you’d catch yourself if your life before was just a dream.  the first few months marcia wouldn’t speak at all. a silent rebellion against her new family or maybe her guilt of living a life her sibling would’ve deserved. eventually, she’d get used to it, even catching herself referring to them as their family until it’d soon slip so easily from her tongue as if she was always supposed to be a part of them.  however, the guilt would always linger everywhere, in every corner of her home, her bones and  in the way she’d find the part of her sibling in that of her family members. she knows that her mind would remain restless until she’d get the answers. but she doesn’t want to beg for money or help and instead would go down what some would call the wrong path. but what is right or wrong when you’re doing it for your sibling? it started with a secret, one she was never supposed to witness, a moment that would barely be significant in the chapter of her life at all. only when the other begged her not to say anything and offered her money, she’d found a way. but the money wasn’t enough to pay the people searching for her sibling and she slipped so easily into the business of exchanging secrets for money  and luckily she hadn’t been caught yet.
headcanons
// ever since the coup to ovethrow the bonapartes, marcia had become a little paranoid. however, it is not the people she's afraid of but the belief of what comes around goes around as she has always been one to belief in karma, gods and fate. although the situation is much more complex , she still believes that both parties were greedy ( which is bold from someone who blackmails others for money ), yet she'd never voice that opinion as she cherishes her family too much to say anything against them. //it was rarely the case that people would give her money back then when she was begging for it. hence, she'd developed a talent of sneaking up on people, moving without any sound and just disappearing or appearing. back then she'd use it to pickpocket but now she's using it to spy on people and find out something she can use against them. //she's currently developing an interest in herbs and how they might help and treat others for illnesses. this interest might purely the result of guilt of what she's doing to others and now she feels the need to somehow compensate by doing something good. yet, she also uses her knowledge to gain trust of others which might make them more open towards her. MORE TBA
connections
her sibling (if anyone wants to bring a new muse or it somehow works) for lots of angst and a dramatic reunion please !!! what happened to the sibling and why they disappeared is pretty much open ! it'd also be fun if they already know each other but don't know they're related
people she blackmailed/blackmails : it can be random people but maybe even someone she considers a friend or pretends to be a friend to them.
a wc based on this post with kinda enemies to lovers vibes ? maybe this person suspects them of being suspicious (eventually finding out about her secret). she might have blackmailed one of this muse's friends, hence your muse tries to find out who the blackmailer is etc. or marcia might even have tried to blackmail your muse or is doing it. lots of drama and angst ~
a dynamic based on this !!!
best friend : i'd love them to be someone who'd never suspect of marcia doing it and might be a person who makes marcia to be a better person but also for angst reason might indirectly remind her of her guilt of blackmailing others !
people she meets and goes collecting herbs with ! i'd love them to exchange some knowledge about herbs/apothecary knowledge
also the typical enemies, people who might judge her bc of the actions of her family, friends, exes, mentor etc. connections pls!!!!

hey sweetie, here about the mashups
so, I have a lot of hobbies but here are my favorite ones: reading, writing, doing crochet, learning new languages and history, singing (but I'm awful) and going to the gym
I'm 1,61cm, have brown eyes and brown/dark blonde curly hair, right now it's a few inches down my shoulders.
fluently I speak Portuguese (cause I'm Brazilian 🫶🏻🫶🏻) and English. due to Portuguese, I can "handle" with Spanish and Italian. I also know a bit of french and some word/sentences in others like russian and German
I'm totally extroverted, I'm always making friends everywhere I go, I love talking and if you let I'll be talking bout my interests for hours. I'm also the friend who's always making jokes with everyone. and more than I hate, I'm the total ENTP stereotype. I'm a cancer
I love baking, cooking, showering, all the arts(painting, dancing, acting…), swimming, and for sure travelling. also, I'm a Mercedes fan since I started watching F1
it's not hate, but I'm not a big redbull fan. now about dislikes: small cities, step on the grass barefoot, camping and fish
already, thank you love and sorry if there's any mistake, my English is kinda crappy
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG my fist ask! This totally made my day! Hi and welcome! I am so happy somebody asked for a match-up. Now I will try to find somebody who suits you based on what you given me. (and no worries, your English is great!<3)
This is only my opinion, so be sure to let me know what you think about it later : )
LET US GET STARTED!
Header by @dvluc
Tumblr media
Your first match is...
☆LANDO NORRIS☆
Tumblr media
First things first, I think you two being extroverted would not be a bad thing, I can see you talk about your interests for hours, exchanging opinions, just chit-chatting, but it would go on non-stop – if somebody else were with you they wouldn’t even get a chance to talk because you and Lando are in your moment and nothing can interrupt you.
About the languages you know, I`d say he would be absolutely amazed and ask you to teach him something. In privacy he would want you to talk to him in Portuguese because he likes listening to it. Also if go on a vacation together, he`ll totally let you handle all to foreign-language talk to show of how talented you are and how proud he is to have you.
Your zodiac signs are totally compatible – you have an unspoken understanding in between each other, you feel secure and comfortable with each other. Even though his emotions could erupt sometimes, you know how he feels and how to calm him down.
Making friends is not a problem and I don’t feel like jealousy would ever get in the way , you two trust each other enough.
When you two team up and joke around, oh boy, everybody with you is in for a ride, constant wheezing and cry laughing is gonna be present. Even when you are away, your messages are full of jokes and memes.
Gym would be a together activity. If there is a chance he is not away, he will take you with him.
Quality time would be the main love language with you two. Whether its backing or cooking, you bet he will be there trying to help you, but he only ends up making a bigger mess. When he gets home after another tiring travel, Lando will just lay next to you as you read for him out loud or watch you crochet.
About the barefoot in grass part, he would always carry you on his back to save you from the unbearable feeling! And then make fun of you for it – but jokingly.
Bonus: you and Lando would fall in love because of your shared hatred for fish. Love at the first sight as you yell out YUCK! in unison.
--------------------------------------------------
Your second match is...
☆Mick Schumacher☆
Tumblr media
You and Mick would be the definition of See you again (okokokokok/lalalalala), he would just smile as he listens to you talk about what you love, just living in the moment and appreciating you.
The height difference here would be so adorable, don’t get me wrong.
He would totally teach you some more German and he would want you to teach him Portuguese.
I also see Mick trying to teach you surfing since you both share the love for sea and swimming.
I don’t see him liking big cities, but with you, it would be an absolute pleasure, because it means spending more time with you and listening to you.
Germans loooove partying, and you bet he will drag you out to a Karaoke or something similar for a date.
The power you have over him!! He could be having the worst day of his life but as soon as his eyes meet you, a wave of serotonin hits his entire body.
--------------------------------------------------
Hope you like it! : )

Since you defined Hispanic as Spanish-speaker, I have to ask to make sure I’m understanding correctly and my squirrel brain isn’t just misreading entirely; if someone is not from Spain and is not Latino at all but learned Spanish as a second language, are they falling under Hispanic here, cause I feel like I’m definitely misreading that
That's a fair question. It's a bit complicated because technically yes, but it depends on how much of the language you know (but there's no consensus on how much is enough).
But generally, if most people would consider it an accurate description to say you're a Spanish speaker then… congrats! you're Hispanic! 'Cause that's what the word means! Same would go for any other language.
I, for example, am somewhat clunky but fluent enough that when I lived in Cuba I could get by without a problem at all. By most standards that'd make me Hispanic.
Since I also know English and Portuguese I'm also Lusophone and Anglophone. But I wouldn't consider myself Francophone because while I'm able to understand quite a bit of French (I can provide book and resources recommendations at my job), I can't actually speak much. Certainly not enough to carry a casual conversation. (I'm at a B1 or B2 level for speaking according to the official test I took a little while back, so pretty basic)
Does this help/answer your question?

☾, ❀ and ✓ please!!!
☾ : favourite word from your language
not something I have ever thought about tbh, but to go simply I'll say "beau" because it's untranslatable to english. it can mean pretty, beautiful, good-looking, nice, handsome, good, lovely, great, moving (like if something is poetic or romantic or has certain feelings attached to it, you could say "c'est beau". like a dramatic but really beautiful act of love, or something)... but none of these words really capture what it means to me. in some cases it's better to have more specific words, but it's not beau or belle.
❀ : which language(s) would you like to speak fluently?
I'm ok at spanish while writing, but I'm very slow at speaking it, and I haven't put enough effort into becoming better at it. so definitely that. I want to learn dutch, and romanian, irish, a slavic language cuz those are so interesting, portuguese, croatian ... as to whether I will get fluent in any of these, probably no, but I don't think being good at 2 and a half languages is enough for me 😓
✓ : funniest word in your language
FRENCH PPL HAVE SO MANY FUNNY WORDS that are "old" which makes it sound really funny when used. like péquenot. I can't think of any other atm. but for "common" words I'll say bonhomme is always funny, because it's associated (how I use it) with cartoon characters (like if you were older you would say "regarder les bonhommes" for watching cartoons), or stickmen are bonhommes allumette, so calling someone that as an insult is like saying, you are very simple-minded, you're like a cartoon character. (sidenote: bonhomie is defined as "simplicity in the manners, associated with goodheartedness) but the word itself is good. again hard to translate. love it tho

“Now son, know I am here. Unmovable. By anyone. And I do mean anyone. We are kindred spirits, do not forget. I can understand so much pain. If you can’t speak, then listen. Any shame you feel is a lie. I am with you. It would make me happy to see you and have you as a guest again.” [never-took-a-lesson ..for papa hours lol]
There is a silence. Guy received this message a while back, but he didn't respond right away. Instead, he kept it. He replayed and reread it, even. Over and over again. As though scared it'll go away.
There are no words he can say. Nothing he felt that can be enough. Nothing with enough weight to correspond the gratitude he dearly feels. Greater than what can be expressed in any language, be it French, Judeo-Spanish, Portuguese, Yue, or English. All he could do is whisper. And cry a little.
