genuinely this song makes me tear up every time. it’s so jegulus from james pov coded which i think is absolutely devastating. in my mind this song is james thinking about regulus, knowing he has the mark, and regulus is wasting away knowing that he can’t be with james anymore, unknowing that james knows he has the mark. ugh it just breaks my heart every time.

description: In which Remus has never seen Sirius cry, and Sirius doesn’t know what to do when Remus witnesses him in a tearful mood down by the great lake at three in the morning.

Sirius didn’t cry in front of his friends.

Sure, he’d cried once or twice in front of James, but he certainly didn’t make a habit of it.

So, in the early hours of the morning, he had slipped out of his dorm—which was easy to do since Remus and Peter were deeply asleep and James was spending the night in another dorm—who's? He had no clue. He walked outside into the crisp early morning air with sorrowful feelings in his heart and dark, dark thoughts in his mind. He found himself sitting down at the lake, as he always did when he felt like this. He sat with his knees hugged up to his chest as he gazed out at the still, tranquil lake with his hands resting on his knees, fiddling anxiously. His eyes focused on his black-painted nails for a second before restlessly darting away and finally coming to settle on the calm lake.

He was a mess, and he hated that. He hated that he felt helpless, miserable, and numb, but most of all, he despised how confused he felt. He was so infuriatingly confused and conflicted. About Moony, of course. Who else would be on his mind at this ungodly hour? He wanted so deeply for Remus to hold him as Sirius fell apart in his arms while the other boy whispered sweet nothings into his ear and gently played with his hair.

Sirius sighed under his breath and brought his hands up to his head, tilting his head up to stare at the starry sky as he cursed his thoughts for making him think of Remus like that. Intimacy was not and had never been common for Sirius, and the vulnerability of yearning for such soft intimacy from anyone was terrifying to him.

Especially Moony.

“Merlin, I’m pathetic," he muttered, trying to push the image of the sweet affections out of his mind, to no avail. He felt the tears begin to trail down his cheeks, and he didn’t make any move to brush them away. He stared out at the water, paralysed in despair as he felt the tears slowly trickle down his face.

He sat like this for about seven minutes before his hand found the rough ground beside him, and he startled back into reality, both becoming more aware of himself and the figure slowly approaching him. It took his blurry eyes a moment to focus, and once he realised who it was, he was filled with dread. He hurriedly wiped away his tears. He shouldn’t have seen that. He probably thinks I’m deplorable. He’s coming to pity me, fuck. I don’t want his pity–

Remus sat down silently next to him. Sirius felt his thoughts go silent in his presence, and he let out a soft breath as the fear gradually dissipated. The two sat in silence for at least ten minutes before the silent tears started falling again. Sirius could see Remus glance at him out of the corner of his eye and feel Remus slowly reach for his hand and intertwine their fingers together. Sirius squeezed his eyes shut.

It took another five minutes for Sirius to huddle into Remus’ shoulder and relax into the touch of having one of Remus’ arms embracing his back.

“I’m sorry.” His voice was barely even a whisper, muffled in the fabric of Remus’ jumper that he had buried his face in.

“You did nothing wrong.”

“Well, I’m sorry you had to witness that-”

“Hey, no. Look at me.” Remus turned to face Sirius and used his thumb to tilt the other boy’s chin up until they were making eye contact. “You didn’t force me to be here. I saw you; you were clearly struggling, so I wanted to help you."

"I... can’t talk about it tonight."

“It’s three in the morning, Siri.” Remus muttered, and Sirius smiled softly as Remus continued speaking. “But that’s completely fine; you don’t ever have to talk to me about it. I just want you to know that you can if you need to. You are what’s important right now, so we can talk about whatever you want, or even nothing.”

Sirius looked into Remus’ eyes for a moment before his gaze drifted back out to the moonlit water, and he was filled with a sense of undeniable adoration. He leaned back into Remus’ shoulder as the two watched the light gradually change as the day got lighter, and he closed his eyes.

I’m going to be okay.

His thoughts had finally calmed, and he felt so at ease with Remus there next to him that he couldn’t even deny it any more. Opening his eyes, he stared at their interlaced hands that were currently resting on Remus’ lap before he spoke, his eyes fixed on Remus’ face as the other boy stared out at the sky. At this moment, he noticed more than ever just how stunning Remus was: with his light brown fluffy curls and his deep brown eyes that Sirius could get lost in for hours and not once complain. He looked at peace down here by the water, and Sirius realised that there was a high chance he wasn’t the only one who escaped out here on sleepless early mornings. A soft smile was set on Remus’ face as he gazed wistfully out at the softly rippling water.

“I think I’m in love with you, Moony.”

The second Remus looked over at Sirius and met his eyes; words were not needed. Their eyes expressed everything they felt and more, so much more deeply than words ever could. However, Remus knew Sirius very well, and it was clear to him that, although he would never specifically say so, he needed affirmation.

Remus squeezed their still-joined hands and slowly leaned in, softly brushing a finger over Sirius’ bottom lip. “Can I kiss you?”

“Please.” Sirius blurted a little too quickly, but Remus didn’t seem to mind. The corner of his lips simply twitched up in a smirk in response, and he pressed his lips against Sirius’ in a quick, soft kiss before pulling away. “I guess you could say that I’m in love with you too.” They kissed again, and after a while, it melted into a soft hug with Sirius curled up into Remus’ chest.

Sirius took one look into Remus’ eyes and knew that he never wanted to let go.

ok so i was listening to my renaissance faire playlist and before even looking at the prompt i knew i wanted to make it about one.

“James, no. I am not going outside in all this… sunshine,” Regulus insists, arms crossed in the passenger’s seat.

“Regulus-”

“Not happening.” Regulus can see James trying to hide his laughter from the driver’s side.

“Reg, we drove two hours. You do know you aren’t actually allergic to the sun, don’t you?” he asks, clearly very amused. Regulus turns to him with a glare on. Rookie mistake. James is dressed as a deer-inspired wood nymph and he looks fucking adorable and gorgeous and-

“I’m too pale!” he reiterates, “I’ll burn immediately.” James starts to give him a sad face. Shit. It gets him every time.

“But Reeeeg. You’re supposed to be my fairy prince! You look so pretty!” Regulus has been looking forward to the renaissance faire for almost a whole year now… There’s that dagger he’s been eyeing at the blacksmith’s, and the food is quite good and-

Regulus hears the sounds of that good old thinly veiled crude humored music floating into the car.

“Did you bring a parasol?” Regulus grumbles, embarrassed to admit defeat. James immediately perks up and beams.

“And SPF 70 sunscreen!” he exclaims. And well, Regulus was always weak for James’ giddiness. So he slathers on sunscreen and hides under the parasol and he and James waltz into the faire as a nymph and a fairy prince and maybe he did burn a bit, but it ends up being the best date he’s ever had.

James is worth a bit of sunburn.

okay craziest fic idea: jegulus fic inspired by the movie as above so below where regulus has died suddenly and james is absolutely torn to shreds. it’s eating away at him. but the only thing holding him together is the work that him and reg were doing with archeology and history so on and so forth. james goes to the catacombs in paris and while exploring (in the sneaky fashion, not a scheduled tour) things start to go haywire and james is seeing regulus everywhere he turns. total horror au and i would have it kind of bounce back and forth between before regulus died and after he died when james is in the catacombs

my perfect date: little earlier start, so we can go out for brunch together. get a little coffee at a cute local coffee shop. if the weathers nice, we can go for a walk in the park or around the town. we wind up at a bookstore and we pick out books for each other. holding hands. a little kiss. again, if the weathers nice, driving with the windows down and listening to a playlist together.

weird fact: i tore tissue in my hip from dance and my femur started to slip in the socket, so i almost dislocated my femur and tore the tissue more until they had to do surgery to repair it. now i have metal clamps holding my tissue together brilliant :)

I cant believe to tell you how much edge means to me , i found it whilst in sixth form working a part time job and it was my only solace when the chapters came out during my saturday shifts last year. Then this year although the updates have been fewer, they have been mighty and I am in awe of how the story is going. I mean ????? The characterisations and character arcs so far have been insane in the best way and I am so so exited for whatever else you write im so serious 💗💗💗 This story is everything to me . This is weird im listening to under pressure as I’m writing this and Freddie just saying ‘why can’t we give love that one more chance’ and then bowie saying ‘this is our last dance’ idk these lyrics are talking to me about edge sort of like freddie being james up until he realises regulus’ plans.. bowie being regulus at the masquerade .. hmmm im having thoughts ANYWAY thank you so much for every word you have put into this story and all your time because it is so so special 💗

Why is my playlist about Regulus Black the way it is?

Hi! So—whenever I get terribly obsessed with a fictional character I make them a playlist. Now it's up to…*drumroll* Regulus Black!

But...you all must know a few things:

I am a jegulus shipper (that does not mean I hate Lily, those things should have nothing to do with each other), so a few of these songs do revolve around this ship but it's okay, bare with me.

My first language is not english. If I make mistakes along this post please forgive me, I'm trying.

I’m known for doing long-ass playlist’s so I only chose ten of the sixtyfour I have.

I am a SUCKER for the Regulus/Icarus... headcanon (I guess you could call it). Listen to this: he flew too close to the sun, he was young and didn't know anything afar from being trapped, died drowning searching for this new freedom he just discovered was actually for him. Regulus IS Icarus and no one can stop me from relating songs that talk about the myth to him. Wich takes me to the next song.

Sunlight by Hozier

Hozier is talking about Jegulus in this song and I love that for him (and for me). The same logic, Regulus is fighting for that light he didn't knew he could have and was willing to sacrifice his life for it. I love him so much.

A Rush of Blood to the Head by Coldplay

This whole song is so Regulu in crimson rivers coded its crazy and meanwhile I don't fully love Regulus' character always being a tragedy I love how this song wraps the way I think Regulus understands love: intense and sometimes violent but completely devoted.

Regulus stayed so Sirius could leave (do not take this the wrong way I know it was hard for Sirius too). He yearns for a different live, for another chance but still belives he doesnt deserve it THAT'S what this son is about, don't care what anyone say's.

OMG HI LOW!! yes absolutely i am always happy to talk about pandalily they are my beloveds <3 yeah i set up this acc relatively recently bc i wanted a fresh start for my ao3 and i haven’t really had the chance to do much on it yet (i am unfortunately a full time university student) but i am so happy you sent an ask bc i am always excited to talk to ppl!! feel free to send more asks or even dm me for whatever reason!!

i’m gonna do the pandalily headcanons last bc i have so many of them, but firstly do i have any wips:

oh i ABSOLUTELY have wips. i actually am the worst at starting wips and never finishing them, but as for main ones i’m working on rn, i have a prongsfoot wip that’s currently around 50k words 75% done, a marauders x daisy jones & the six au, a (you have to hear me out on this one okay bc i know nobody ships this but me BUT HEAR ME OUT) friends with benefits sirius x barty fic that’s about half done, and another pandalily fic that is basically just taking shape but i don’t have much to say about it yet (im actually just the worst multishipper ever and i ship my favourite character, sirius, with every single person who dares to so much as breathe in his direction)

ok so i am totally willing to just link my spotify, in fact: here and i have a pandalily playlist in the works here, but specifically, i’ve had never love an anchor by the crane wives, three by sleeping at last, and funeral by phoebe bridgers on loop over and over as well as the entire daisy jones & the six album.

top 5 ships giving me brainrot

1. PRONGSFOOT!! prongsfoot is forever in my head as one of my fav ships ever

2. pandalily! i absolutely adore their dynamic and the little version of them that i have created in my head

3. rosekiller. i think this is a relatively unpopular opinion but i am so intrigued by their dynamic and i’m currently in the process of drafting a LONG fic about them but i haven’t done much work on it yet

4. dorlene. UGH MY OG ENEMIES TO LOVERS i am forever obsessed with them and i can’t believe i haven’t written them yet

5. normally i’d have jegulus around here i think but currently i’ve been having intensive brainrot about the idea of a dynamic between barty and sirius. i think they’re two characters who are very similar and yet hate each other and i think it’s really interesting to explore a two sides of the same coin dynamic between them and idk i have a lot of thoughts about them i could absolutely rant for a very long time abt the sirius/barty dynamic i have in my head

bonus bc it isn’t a marauders ship but my favourite ship of ALL TIME is soukoku, aka dazai/chuuya from bungou stray dogs. i like them a Normal amount (i’m crazy abt them)

and now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for, here are a few of my pandalily headcanons that i can think of off the top of my head

first of all, my fav pandalily song is trouble by halsey. it’s literally them. that’s their dynamic to me

pandora’s much more open about her oddness and want for Blood while lily is more closed off about it. it’s still there—absolutely still there—but pandora kind of awakens it in her and helps her to realize that it’s okay to show that part of her

they met through james and regulus and often go on double dates with them

they absolutely get matching tattoos. probably ethel cain lyrics or something abt the inherent eroticism of cannibalism idk

my favourite headcanon is that pandora and evan are twins and evan tries to get lily the shovel talk when he meets her for the first time, but actually just ends up half in love with her bc he thinks she’s so cool

speaking of, evan and lily joke that they’re going to run away and elope so that evans name could be evan evans and pandora thinks it’s the funniest thing ever

bonus headcanon that evan is the older twin by a few minutes but pandora tells everyone that she is and he doesn’t correct her

they watched bones and all together and every 5 minutes they would whisper “this is so us” to each other

they absolutely LOVE baking together. they do it at least once a week and they make cookies or cupcakes or something and decorate them like pinterest photos and give them to their friends

they have two shared pinterest boards. one is really cutesy baking ideas and cute room decor inspo and the other is full of quotes abt cannibalism and blood and eating each other whole. they treasure both of these boards equally

lily is the biggest taylor swift fan ever and she makes pandora listen to her songs together. pandora moderately enjoys taylor swift, but will listen to her constantly to please lily. lily’s favourite song is this is me trying and pandora likes cowboy like me

they give each other flowers all the time (notably lilies ofc). pandora can’t stand to watch them die and always presses them and keeps them all in a little notebook with the date they got them

they’re obsessed with biting each other. like not even just during sex, they do it all the time. they’ll be watching a movie and pandora will just reach over and bite lily’s shoulder for fun

their favourite show to watch together is hannibal. they’re crazy about it. they rewatch it all the time to an unhealthy extent

they often say really strange declarations of love to each other in front of other people like “i want to eat you down to the bones” or “i want to rip open your skin and crawl inside your kidneys and sleep in there” and everyone around them just laughs nervously and can’t tell if they’re serious or not

i probably rambled much more than i needed to but i am always very excited to talk!!

I do listen to music, yes! I usually just put like a random playlist on, sth like “Jegulus angst vibes” from Spotify or whatever… I really just need background noise. If I obsess over a certain song, I let you guys know in the chapter notes (like Live in the moment for the kiss or Total eclipse of the heart)

As I’m writing the first in the name of love chapter, I’ve been listening to 2000s romcom songs 💗

🎉what leads you do consider a fic a success?

Ha, I had a whole-ass fanfic writing goals checklist and I’m happy to say dass managed to tick all but one boxes 🥰🥰

But lately it’s been less about the checklist and more about how I feel about a fic and, most importantly, how my friends feel. If I write something and the internet loves it but @sequinhaze or @blossoms-and-possums aren’t too keen, I wouldn’t consider it a success. Most of my fics these days are written with a specific someone in mind and I want to a) have fun writing it (like for example the whole Shawn Mendes madness) and b) them to enjoy it 😊

so i heard ice skating!marauders aus are quite trendy on tiktok atm and i noticed how there are more and more figure skater regulus / jegulus fanarts but every time i see one, i wanna scream in the comments how YOU had this concept already MONTHS AGO and it belongs to you and you only haha (even tho you never really posted the fic in the end)

NO LMAO WHY WAS I THINKING THE SAME THING THE OTHER DAY 😭 listen i’m just possessive over my little ill advised figure skating au because i love it endlessly even if i haven’t written a word in months. i have all the skating playlists at the ready, i have art wips sketched and planned, i have 30k words and a dream LMFAOOOO

the jegulus brainrot is so bad that a dear evan hansen song came on while i was listening to my playlist with musicals and my first thought was “dear evan hansen jegulus au!”

clearly i was not thinking coherently because idek how the au would work fully nor do i think i could actually write a multi-chaptered fanfic 💀

- My favourite game to play atm is phone monopoly although I have an unfortunate tendency to lose.

- can this person be dead? If so it would have to be Elvis (although Bowie is a very close second). With people that are alive I really want to go to an Arctic monkeys concert! Ooo also I’ve got tickets to Elton Johns tour!

- sorry to copy you but it would probably be the 70s. It would feel wrong to say anything else

- for a first date I would probably take someone (you) for a picnic where we could talk and read and get to know each other. I’m definitely not one for dinner dates or overly romantic dates so I feel like a picnic is a nice relaxed environment to get to know someone.

- now why would you ask if I’m a sore loser…. The answer is obviously yes.

- my go to thing to watch on Netflix is probably mind hunters (about the development of the behavioural psychology unit in the fbi). I highly recommend this! (For a second I thought modern family was on Netflix so I would have said that but it’s not so…)
