Could you maybe draw ladybug with the powerups you haven't drawn yet? (Earth, fire... I'm not sure if you already did water)
Tumblr media
I drew all of them for convenience. I didn't really have an idea what to do for the fire pearl? But she ended up looking fine a bit bland but fine. I really like the ground pearl, she's so cute!

Number 3 of the Power-up Series. Ice Flower
This time Meep has collected the Ice Flower! In this form, they're constantly shivering and feel always tired. Their snow and ice never melts, making them good for making your drink cold! Meep can also bend snow and ice to their will.
The idea for this series came from @nitrox_fox on Instagram. Go follow him, his art is great. :>

Mario just spent most of the last scene getting his ass handed to him and only narrowly won the fight because he got ahold of a really good powerup. But the moment DK starts egging him on Mario hands off the ice pack and goes in for round two, fists raised and not a powerup in sight. One braincell. Zero self preservation skills. I love him.

Happy Mar10 everyone!!
To celebrate, I thought it'd be a perfect opportunity to combine the Daily Dragon Challenge with the occasion and bring back my concept for a Mario Powerup: Dragon Mario!! Which you get by grabbing a Dragon Crystal!
I'm not sure 100% what powers it gives you aha. I'm thinking it might be like Flying Squirrel Mario but instead of letting you cling to walls, it lets you spit fireballs midair? Maybe if I wanted to be really crazy it lets you shoot out random projectiles? Fire, Ice, Bubbles?
But I do have some more concepts to go along with this power up that I might expand upon a little more at a later time. Just some silly fanfic stuff aha Anyway, this is an older concept from 2019 like I said! Here's how it used to look, I think I've cleaned it up a lot!

I'm gonna be forever salty that Cosmobug and Astrocat, easily the best power ups Ladynoir have, did not have a proper introduction episode like Syren and Frozer.
Them being in awe of the beautiful designs (and each other), Chat geeking out over Ladybug glowing in the dark, (lbr, Adrien was a glow in the dark sticker kid) Ladybug being fascinated by the starry design of Chat's suit. The two of them figuring out the hijinks of fighting in space, which cannot have been easy unlike the water and ice powerups, which are still earthly terrains. Them sweetly promising each other to do space patrols every now and then (even if they never actually show it in other episodes).
They could've included it in Startrain as an intro episode, which is, if I'm not wrong the first time Ladynoir has had to fight an Akuma in space. Instead what we got was a few minutes of them randomly transforming in the Shanghai special for the first time which was already focusing on so many other things. I'm still so upset.

Do Luigi’s different power-up forms have unique nicknames or all they all called “The Phantom”?
The power-up forms follow the name of the type of shy guy I based them on:
Fire Flower - Groove Guy
Ice Flower - Snow Guy
Cat - Spy Guy/Snifit
Bee - Beezo
Boo - Lantern Ghost/ Ghost Guy
Super Leaf - Bandit
Mushroom - Tall Guy (he doesn't have a special name for a mushroom powerup so I'm going to use Tall Guy because he is a tall shy guy, similar to how the naming structure for different types of shy guys is either based on their job or general description of how they look)
Edit: Link to the designs
For simplicity though I'm just having him called Mr. L in each form. The Phantom part of the name is more so in relation to his relationship with Mario in the story. Mario is looking for the brother he knew in Brooklyn (the eight year old that went missing) rather than the person Luigi is now. Granted he doesn't realize how much is brother has changed. It is also a reference to how Mr. L (in this au), while a part of Luigi, is more of his persona the front he puts on to fit in the Darklands easier, it is an illusion. Also, it allows me to have Dream Team's chapter name be "The Phantom of the Dream."
The only time I'm having him called the Phantom in the story is for people outside of the Darklands are talking about him. Think of it like how people share horror stories of a creature they swore they saw in the woods, but no one can ever agree with what they saw.
Plus title-wise wise I like Mario and The Phantom more than Mario and Mr. L. Enjoy a rough draft of the comic title format, which tumblr just ate the quality on this picture.
Tumblr media
It would also feel a little disingenuous on my end to have Mr. L in the title, because this is a very different Mr. L presented than how he appears in Super Paper Mario.

Out of curiosity: how would Bowser look like with the Ice Flower power-up? Would he become unable to use fire in that form of would he be able to use ice alongside his natural fire?
Tumblr media
((Its true that we never saw Bowser using powerups...Well aside from Meowser and the tanuki one from 3D Mario land...
In my mind, if Bowser uses the ice flower, he would not breath fire he would breath ice !
so here is Bowser with ice flowers and fire flower))

Prima Queen with the water, space, and ice power-ups
She's soo pretty, especially the ice power-up, which is more themed after ice skating since Chloe has a history with it. I don't have a name for any of these.
Anyway, I've been thinking about the power-ups a little and even considered removing them for a while. But then I figured out a nice reason for their existence that makes sense (at least to me). Still, I'm thinking about the creation of them. Whether to still keep them as potions or change them into something different, but I'll probably keep them as potions since they're more versatile that way.

I know you literally just posted it, but that Valentine's Day post is incredible! And it made me curious. Are there other emotion-related things you associate with different powerups? Say, the Ice and Bubble flowers, Elephant Fruit, Cat Bell, etc.? In my eyes, I feel like the Bubble Flower specifically would, in a way, create a feeling of, well, bubbliness in the person, as in a sort of child-like joy and playfulness. Thoughts?
Aw yisss, I love receiving asks that directly address the drawings I share! 😁✏️
And yeah!! Exactly!^^ In my version, power-ups are intuitive life forms that react to other creatures in a way that can be felt, even without using their magic directly. For example, one would immediately feel the difference if they're standing near a Super Mushroom or Fire Flower, and the same can be said for all existing varieties. I've also once talked about a personal take of mine in which power-ups manifest differently depending on who is using them. I view them as a source of energy that acts as an outer extension of someone's aura, meaning that they will not give the same abilities from one person to the next. The resulting effect is entirely unique to the host and cannot be replicated. 🎇

I was right. Uraraka needed no help in saving Dabi and she even gets a quirk awakening so she can deal with the clones solo. It's only Shouto and his pathetic ass that needs help because he's so weak and pathetic that he needs his family to do most of the work and saving while he does nothing and here's Uraraka being able to easily do it all on her own without any help and actually manages to save Toga.
Dude, I’m not gonna tolerate the Shoto hate. The two fights are just different. Shoto had to exhaust himself and his brother TWO times. Shoto was at his limits the first time, and was going to support Deku, but All Might convinced him to go up against Toya again. Not only did Shoto use his already exhausted quirk to make Iida’s run to Gunga even faster, Shoto was able to deliver an ice blast that froze the battlefield and stopped Toya. Meanwhile, Ochako made it through Okuto Island with a scratch (I think in 348?). It’s Tsu that was injured yet managed to get herself and Ochako through Kurogiri’s portal. Ochako got stabbed and fought a fierce, bloody battle, and I’m so thrilled she got that, but it’s wrong to say Ochako didn’t have help. First, there’s Tsu even getting her to Gunga and giving her the idea about Himiko’s quirk. Then there’s Tsu, Jiro, and Kamui Woods (I think maybe some others?) fighting off the clones to minimize the # that Ochako has to fight off. If it was Ochako solo — truly solo — then the clones would have overwhelmed her.
As for powerups, consider that Ochako spends most of this fight using her basic float move, her martial arts learned from Gunhead, and her wires from Deku. She’s never really had a power up before whereas Shoto steadily learned Flashfire, Phosphor, etc. Ochako is overdue for quirk development, whereas the boys are not.
Edited to add: We also need to consider the context of the saving. What Shoto has wanted to see, for 100+ chapters, is what kind of father Endeavor can be. What Toya has needed is for his father to see him. Both needed their mother to help them stand up to their father’s worst impulses. Both needed to form relationships with their siblings. The Todoroki endgame inherently involves them all as a family. By contrast, Himiko Toga has no family and doesn’t care for one. They’re gone and it hurts, but she doesn’t want them back. Himiko wants love and friendship, and that can start with just one person’s unconditional love and support. That person was Twice; now it’s Ochako.
Toya and Shoto are bound by family but not blood. Himiko is bound by blood but not family.

genuinely wondering why they didn't stick with the power ups. that's more designs for them to sell as dolls and while yeah they have to make new assets for LB and CN, it feels like it'd be a lot less work than making a bunch of new character models? since they have LB and CN as bases? and they can keep reusing the power up sequences if they're using the same power ups over different episodes
I think the problem with the powerups so far is that they're very situational. To use the Ice one they need an Akuma that makes everything iced over, to use the Aqua one they'd need to flood Paris again or have the Akuma hide in the river. The Space one is the most versatile as it lets them go to space and also fly and also be real fast, but even so it's quite situational. The hypothetical Fire one would be the same, needing an Akuma that wields Fire for them to bring out the powerup.
And while they /could/ make these Akumas, they need to spread out to allow for Akumas whose powers aren't elemental.
