alternative chuuya ship propaganda under the cut
TsujiChuu -> they had exactly TWO (2) encounters but in those 10~ minutes Tsujimura has immediately waxed poetic about how chuuya is a unique and intriguing man (as most special division agents do), and went out of her way to know more about him. and Chuuya immediately empathized her personal struggles with her ability, and gave her advice on how to both control it and accept it as part of her instead of something that was placed in her**. (hmmm stormbringer chuuya and gaiden tsujimura parallels. there's a reason they met.) Anyways Tsujimura is super high-strung and chuuya (when he's not purposely being riled up) is actually really laid back so they'd mesh well personality wise. And they could have an fbi x criminal secret romance thing happening.
ChuuRan -> they definitely fucked in the book. Lol. Also it's a match up that is spiritually similar to skk but 20x funnier because they have zero history and and wayyy more petty beef. in a more serious note, Chuuya probably does have some respect for Ranpo ---not respect for his intellect. I don't think chuuya would be impressed by anyone acting like a cocky genius, he was partnered with dazai after all-- recognizing him as the agency's "lynchpin" and all that. On Ranpo's side, i think he respects chuuya as a Threat, so that side adventure in the Poe's book was probably both to keep him away from the Cannibalism war thing and also gain an ~ally~ of sorts. IDK I JUST WANNA KNOW WHAT HAPPENED IN THE BOOK BRO
TaintedLemons -> Chaos and property destruction boyfriends ftw! They're canonically drinking buddies too! Chuuya is a messy lightweight, so what if when Hirotsu is unavailable, it's Kajii who helps him back home or let's him crash at his place 🥺? Kajii actually seems to be pretty high ranking, what with him just casually chatting up Kouyou and Mori trusting him with undercover missions. Kajii should be promoted, we have 2 exec seats after all. Kajii's silly eccentric personality and their friendship helps Chuuya put a positive connotation to mad scientists. Also they're literally always near each other in the group shots and official art, it's literally canon.
ChuuAku -> another one that isn't too rare but seriously underrated. Chuuya is that super supportive borderline embarassing boyfriend that takes 5 minutes each day to divulge words of affirmation, and he'd make dinner and use the cheesy pet names, the kinda stuff that makes Akutagawa want to explode/shrivel up and die. See as soon as Akutagawa is involved i think Chuuya should be flattened to the cookie cutter token love interest. He'd murder daz for a birthday gift. He's be Akutagawa's personal cheerleader and nothing more. This is also basically a canon ship btw..

Step By Step | Bada Lee
Tumblr media
pairings: bada lee x fem!oc
genre: friends to lovers, student x teacher
a/n: idk i just had an idea
parts: 1, 2 , 3.....
"Sorry." The short-haired girl bowed as she bumped into a man. He turned, his face twisted with anger, and he uttered a curse at her.
The girl winced at his harsh words, but she can't blame him, it was her fault after all. She's the one running around like a headless chicken
With a sigh of frustration, she began running once more. She didn't plan on being late, but her teacher had insisted that she remain after class for discussion of some things. To her, they were utterly stupid matters, but she had no choice but to comply. She was quite certain that the teacher was merely looking to curry favor with her, just because her mom is a famous ballerina.
"Sorry maam." Nari said to the older woman, " Do you happen to know where the-" she paused looking at her phone "Jam Republic agency is located?"
The older woman scoffed "Are you blind"
Nari was astonished by her bluntness, she didn't expect that
"It's right behind you. Even at my age, I can see better than you, it would seem."
"Well, you're not wrong about that." she replied, murmuring the statement to herself, and quickly added, "Thank you. Have a nice day"
Turning away, she saw that the old lady had been correct all along. With an exasperated sigh, she pushed through the door leading into the building,
As her eyes scanned the unfamiliar surroundings, she soon spotted the reception's desk. However, to her dismay, no one seemed to be stationed there. Walking a bit closer, she placed her bag on the ground and sat in one of thr chairs.
After waiting a few minutes, and not hearing or seeing anybody else, Nari finally decided to proceed with her outfit change. She had no desire to keep waiting around, and risk anyone seeing her in her tight pastel pink skirt and green top. Her mothers choices
Just as Nari began to stand, she spotted a tall girl exit through a doorway nearby. She was wearing a white shirt, grey sweatpants, and a grey zip-up hoodie. The girl had a white hat on concealing most of her features, making it quite difficult for Nari to take a good look at her face at all.
Not to mention, the girl was looking straight down at the ground, making it even more difficult for Nari to see her expression.
With a quick motion, she locked the bathroom door and took out her clothes from her bag. First, she slipped on the black sweatpants, followed by the grey sports bra. Then, she wore the baggy t-shirt, but didn't like the way it looked, so she instead placed it behind her neck only covering her shoulders. After a few adjustments, she stood before the mirror looking at herself
Having had enough of the ugly pink bow that was on her hair, she tossed it into the trash can. Then, she gathered her hair up into a rather messy, yet loose, ponytail, securing it with an elastic band. She looked in the mirror now happy with her appearance. She felt like herself, not like the girl her mother wants her to be
She unlocked the door and went outside, entering the now familiar hallway she saw the same tall girl from earlier, sitting in one of the chairs
Embarrassing, she witnessed her outfit change
Quietly, she returned to the chair, and took her seat once more. She waited patiently for anyone to arrive, casting a glance in the direction of the tall girl, who appeared to be preoccupied with her phone, as her eyes remained firmly fixed to the screen.
"Excuse me," Nari blurted out before she could stop herself. She immediately fell silent, feeling a sudden wave of tension wash over her. The girl turned her head toward her in curiosity, and Nari became utterly speechless, as she was not expecting her to be this beautiful. Nari found herself completely unable to move, as she was simply lost for words, and utterly mesmerized by the sight of the other girl's striking looks.
"Yes?"
Fuck, not only was she attractive and beautiful, but even her voice was incredibly alluring.
In an effort to regain some level of composure, she cleared her throat, and hoped that her voice would not crack. "Uhm, do you know if Bada Lee is here?"
"I'm Bada," the girl stated, leaving Nari utterly confused
"What"
"What...?"
However, Nari's confusion only deepened, as she was under the impression that her teacher was a man, based on the information that her friend told her before.
"You're not Bada" the younger girl blurted out, shaking her head in disagreement.
Now it was Bada's turn to be confused "Im pretty sure I am" was this girl on drugs
"My friend told me that you were a man," she said
"Well, your friend is mistaken" Bada replied with a slight chuckle. "And, my name is definitely not a masculine one," she added
"Im so sorry" Unable to hold back her rage, Nari found herself itching to find her friend, Chaeyoung. With the next class being only a few short hours away, the anticipation of making Chaeyoung face her consequences was nearly unbearable.
She was in deep shit
"You're Shin Nari right." Bada asked, and Nari confirmed with a quick nod of her head.
"Well, I wasn't expecting you to be this young," Bada stated, looking at Nari with a confused expression. "Here it says that you're in your thirties, so this is a surprise."
Nari felt a rush of embarrassment wash over her, and she wanted to bury herself and die "Sorry I have a habit of picking random birth years everytime I apply for something"
If Bada said no to teaching her she wouldn't be surprised
"Alright, let's not waste any time and begin," Bada stated with a nod as she and Nari both stood up "Are you familiar with dance, were you a dancer before?"
"Yes Im a ballerina" Nari nodded
Bada's eyebrow raised in surprise, yet again, and she couldn't help herself from inquiring further. "Oh, really? So, what brought about the shift from ballet to hip hop?"
"Oh, but I'm not quitting ballet completely," Nari clarified with a quick glance toward Bada. "I actually love both ballet and hip hop," she added. "So what you have here is a two-for-one dancer," Nari joked, smiling at her own words.
Bada chuckled at Nari's joke, Nari was truly a sight to behold, she couldn't deny her beauty. Ever since she had first seen her, Bada was left in a state of awe at her natural beauty, and it was something that she hadn't expected at all.
However, what she hadn't anticipated either, was the fact that Nari would turn out to be her student.
"Alright, then, we will first begin with some exercises meant to loosen up your stiffness, considering your ballet background," Bada stated, clarifying their focus "This is the main priority at the moment," she added.
Nari nodded in agreement, she couldn't wait

Parts of the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes movie that did the book dirty
Spoilers!!
• Snow is the one to suggest feeding the tributes, not stumbling across Sejanus already doing it
• The downgrade of the whole rat problem/rat poison thing
• Grandma’am is nice now???
• The almost total removal of Clemensia’s character, her being a weird suck up instead of her making a normal teen lie, and the fallout showing the absolute apathy Dr Gaul has (and also making Snow realize he can’t even trust the Capitol)
• Dr Gaul literally spelling out what the snakes do and Clemensia still sticking her hand in that stupid snake tank
• Not having Snow calling Lucy Gray “mine” in a creepy way even once to show how he feels he has ownership of her from the very beginning
• The EXTREME downgrade of Snow and Sejanus’ relationship, and the weird bond he has with the Plinths in general
• Ma Plinth erasure
• Tigris erasure
• Getting rid of Arachne’s funeral
• Snow not going out of his way to get Lucy Gray a guitar
• Having a blink and you’ll miss it throwaway line of the tributes and Academy students that died in the explosion
• Not showing the other tributes that did the interview
• Not showing Mama Snow’s compact until Coriolanus deciding to give it to Lucy Gray
• Lucy Gray and Snow didn’t kiss before she went into the games??? I feel like that added and extra layer of her wanting to survive but idk
• The erasure of the iconic “it’s not over until the mockingjay sings” line
• The drones never being fixed was a super weird choice and I’m not sure if I liked it or not
• Snow being super suspicious and running out to put something with Lucy Gray’s scent in the snake tank instead of just getting lucky and putting it in there on the off chance instead of it being predetermined
• The Games ending with the snake scene instead of Lucy Gray having to be clever to outwit her opponents, like I get it’s dramatic but that scene with Dr Gaul was just so weird to me
• Highbottom TELLING Snow to sign up for the Peacekeepers instead of just implying it and also telling him to keep his identity anonymous instead of Snow doing it out of pride
• Sejanus not telling Snow about the diploma he literally bargained for for him
• Sejanus showing up on the train instead of after Snow gets to District 12 and has to wallow in what his life is now before having finally having someone that actually knows him
• Snow not having IMMEDIATE beef with the mockingjays
• Snow not calling Sejanus his brother until the moment he betrayed him
• Them playing the Jabberjay audio at the hanging instead of Snow having to sit with his guilt and finding out via the commander was so so SO cringy omg
• Snow finding out he was going to District 2 BEFORE finding out about the hunt for the guns and who killed the mayor’s daughter was so so weird like why did they choose to do it in that order I feel like it took away all suspense of wondering when the other shoe was going to drop
• Lucy Gray looking that man in the eye and calling herself a loose end while he has a gun in his hand and not getting shot then and there was the most unrealistic part of the movie istg
• Not showing the Plinths in the apartment with them at all and just kinda having a throwaway line about where the money’s coming from
• Dr Gaul never says that she destroyed all evidence of the 10th game because of everything that happened with Snow, Lucy Gray, Sejanus, and the other dead Capitol children
• Snow not throwing away the morphine and Highbottom digging to get it, and instead just leaving it on the desk, idk it takes away the agency of the murder to me, less like an accident and less thought out (and on top of that, not showing how meticulous he was with poisoning the morphine so it couldn’t be traced back to him)

Jaytim half sibling au, where tim is catherine and willis todd's biological child. They put him up for adoption because they felt they couldn't support more than one child. Jason was only two or three at the time, and only has vague memories of his mommy's tummy being big.
Maybe tim always knew he was adopted, but didn't care much, other than the odd daydream when he was lonely. He loved his parents, so he mostly fantasized about long lost brothers or sisters.
Idk how this would progress into jaytim, but I feel like this is a deep well for exploring Jason's mommy kink lol (imagine if tim has her smile)
👀👀👀👀 okay so i had a jaytim thread fic about tim and jason being biological fraternal twin brothers here!!!
but here tim knowing he's adopted and always being curious about the family he would've had if his bio parents kept him. it had been a closed adoption. willis had insisted, told catherine it would make things easier because they couldn't afford another child. not when jason was already such a big expense, plus at least with the adoption they'd recieve some money and that would keep their heads above water for the meanwhile. catherine, of course, knows willis is right. she knows they can't afford another baby. but...this is the first baby she's ever carried and now she has to give them up. it takes a toll on her. jason recalls years later never really knowing what pushed his mom into her drug habit. as far back as he could remember he knew she'd been self medicating with drugs and alcohol. he thought his dad had been the reason. he'd hardly been a very pleasant person to be around. an asshole even. but...never a wifebeater. jason had always just sort of assumed his dad was the cause because he knows his old man had been a dealer at some point. jason only knew that because willis had harshly cautioned him against going down that path. it was one of the few times willis had tried to parent him by pulling jason by his ear away from a group of older boys that hung around a stoop across the street and harshly scolding him.
catherine never quite gets over losing her child. the only thing she has is the birth certificate and some papers from the agency that had set everything up. its what sits at the bottom of some forgotten box long after she has died and so has willis. it gather and collects dust in the closet of the apartment in the building jason grew up in. and it won't be until decades that jason scouts out the condemned building, feeling some sense of nostalgia as he determines the amount of work that needs to go into fixing the whole building up so that it can house new families. jason goes into that old one bedroom apartment, runs his fingers through the thick layer of dust. odds and end furniture that was never thrown out because that old landlord had never been able to find a new tenant after jason's dad was locked up and his mom died and no one was left to pay rent.
jason stumbling across that box, going through it, finding an odd set of papers and just...staring. remembering being two, nearly three and recalling how he'd press his ear to his mom's tummy and giggling along with her at the feeling of something pressing against his hand. its just bits and flashes like how its around the time his mom started on a downward spiral that ended up killing her.
jason finally figuring out this was the reason why. that somewhere out there was a little sibling he'd never known.
maybe he can't go to barbara with this because she'll likely spill to dick or run to bruce to tell on him. jason's options are limited and so he turns to the only other detective that might be discrete about it.
tim helping jason with his search because the adoption agency has long since shut down and were active during the time of paper record keeping.
the two of them growing slowly closer, getting to know each other better. jason thinking tim's not as bad as he thought he was that sometimes...tim might even...remind him of his mom.
he dismisses it because it was that visit to his apartment that makes him all sentimental...makes him think of his mom more often and the good times they had together like her warm laugh and the soft skin of her hand. and sometimes...when jason is dead tired and tim's is the closest place to crash...sometimes....tim does those little things that make the kid part of jason's brain just melt because his mommy is there.
jason and tim starting to sleep together and the the absolute ice bucket chill that hits them both when tim manages to track down the couple that adopted jason's sibling and it's jack and janet drake 👀👀👀

I like your jaime opinions but you have such bnf takes on jb and marriage that kind of baffles me
bnf takes 😭😭? cmon man. im just not that interested in that. like i am just not crazy about the marriage/children endgame aspect, simply out of preference. do not care for that kind of clean happy ending for any of my faves, i think it would emotionally resonate with me less. i also internalized what george had said about what romances he likes to write and read and the “we’ll always have paris” example he used. i do like some kind of tragedy or bittersweetness in romantic stories too. and the love was and would still always be there and all that. i do want some kind of departure, some key choice and sacrifice perhaps. i see the possibility of jaime dying too, which could achieve the same, but not executed the way it was in the show. i do not at all deny the possibility of interpreting the set up for what u guys r saying either, i think you can find foreshadowing for it (certainly has more of a basis than a majority of what ppl skew as marriage foreshadowing for other ships), i just dont feel crazy about it as a “happily ever after” scenario, dont think it would fit:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
like i see this. i even thought that stage direction (if it was that and not a directorial choice that was not in the script) in the lion and the rose could be alluding to a union. the one where loras and jaime discuss the cersei-loras marriage and the dialogue ends with “you will never marry [cersei]” “neither will you” and then brienne enters the frame while the camera is on jaime. followed up by the cersei brienne convo. grrm wrote it after all. this is the technique he kept using with olenna regarding joffrey’s murder as well.
i am just fine with if all this just indicates future romance between them, and is being used to emphasize their desire for each other that they both repress in different ways (oathkeeper itself can be read as an engagement metaphor: “He will bring a rose for you,” her father promised her, but a rose was no good, a rose could not keep her safe. It was a sword she wanted.”, “Ser Galladon was a champion of such valor that the Maiden herself lost her heart to him. She gave him an enchanted sword as a token of her love.”) i do not think it would be made lesser if the relationship does not necessarily operate within the boundaries of westerosi society. i dont care if the marriage is a symbolic one rather than a literal one (like a knighting.) i do not think that would take away from the romantic relationship. we will see. i know jaime deals with failure when it comes to fatherhood but i am still pretty lukewarm when it comes to that kind of ending for him. i would prefer that remaining a tragedy. could that change? idk.
Tumblr media
brienne too is a complex character. her relationship with her desires is complicated. part of her does crave marriage and a child etc. again, it is not as simple as her not at all desiring any aspect of the role she is assigned due to her gender. it is a role that society made for her, but also did not allow her to fit due to how she looks. so that is already very loaded and highlights the contradictory nature of this strict binary. but she also is a knight. she likes it. there is a reason she is a little relieved as well. she has agency to be what she wants to be. she is operating outside of society’s moulds in her own way. is there a way to make these things compromise? maybe.
if you want an “anti-bnf” 😭 opinion from me i do absolutely want their relationship to be consummated, and i disagree with the ppl who want it to be/read it as just a courtly love/chivalric romance type deal in that sense. sexual themes permeate the dynamic, and i wouldn’t like it if george, who does not shy away from dealing with sexuality, didn’t deal with this one relationship, ESPECIALLY because Brienne is an unattractive woman. would unironically rub me the wrong way if she ended up being the one ‘major’ female character, with a key romance, who is also an adult, to not have that. do not want her to be desexualized in this context. i am also tired of the relationship being “purified” in this sense in a lot of general discussion bc i think it often ventures into backwards territory. i would not be really happy with them only getting sex metaphors (which there are plenty of already) + i do believe it would actually mean a lot for both of their characters too.

Hi, hope you're well.
Idk if you've listened to the new mitski album, but I think it's such a sokka album. There are so many songs on the album that remind me of sokka or sokka and yue like:
heaven and star are such yuekka songs to me or rather yuekka from sokka's perspective where he is both remembering their time together and mourning her death and kinda brings up how her death has fundamentally shaped him forever.
I don't like my mind, the deal and when memories snow makes me think of how exhausting it is to be sokka. All of his many problems that he refuses to (can't) acknowledge and the guilt he feels for those rare times he thinks of not dealing with his many responsibilities.
And finally, I'm your man and I love me after you really make me think of how sokka puts so many people before himself that he is willing to die several times over if it meant the other person's safety. I'm your man especially makes me think of sokka's worship of his dad and how he can't acknowledge that while his father left for the right reasons, it still hurt sokka and katara in very different yet fundamental ways (your father leaving the safety of your sister and entire tribe to twelve year old you will do that).
But yeah it's a good album I think.
Sorry this ask is so long, I just wanted to know your thoughts on this new mitski album + the gaang and others?
yes!! was wondering if/when someone would ask me this lol. i agree that a lot of songs on the album have sokka vibes. i'll go through the album in bullet points (out of order) to elaborate on how i think they fit various characters as i have done with other albums in the past:
"my love mine all mine" is THEE sokka/yue song to me. like the denial of agency/personhood outside of their love which must be hidden and ignored for the sake of duty but cannot be denied!!! and the invocation of the moon is just so potent, of course. if i had time i would make an amv, quite frankly
"star" is such a sokka/yue song from yue's pov specifically she is literally the shining light "burning so you can keep looking up" normally i hate when people compare stars and moons as if they are interchangeable bodies (this is why i cannot enjoy sun & moon dichotomies in poetry i am an insufferable pedant when it comes to astronomy) but i will make an exception in this case because it is just such a beautiful song and really does fit so well.
"buffalo replaced" is such an aang song to me. like not just because of the obvious buffalo (or is it bison?) imagery, but because of the evocation of not being able to catch up to the destructive progress of imperialist nation-building (replacing buffalos with railways, etc.) while simultaneously contrasting it with the liberty and love and freedom of the individual (and that whole verse about how much she loves her cat, that is so real and also so aang) that is so poignant and devastating yet celebratory and warm. maybe that's just my interpretation, but it just feels so aang.
"the frost" is a katara song to me and not just, again, because the imagery is so obviously evocative. there's also some aang themes in the first verse, but the "you're my best friend / now i have no one to tell of how i lost my best friend" lyric really hits because it feels like an address to her mother, but also to sokka. obviously kya was the most important person in katara's life (i assume this is the case for all children with their mothers, i know it's still true for me), but she also lost sokka as a friend when he became her sworn protector. i think katara is grieving the relationship she had with sokka but has no way to communicate it because he's right there, so instead she communicates her grief over kya and rage at the fire nation for taking her family away from her, because it's far easier to verbalize than grief over someone having changed but in a way that seems imperceptible. she calls what sokka does "playing soldier" because the idea that it's just a game to him is far preferable to the chilling alternative that he is prepar[ed/ing] to die. she is losing him in increments and has no one to tell because everyone in her family has either died, left her, or left her emotionally. "it's just witness-less me."
"bug like angel" is a song quite specifically about addiction (alcoholism in particular) but the themes of guilt, regret, and longing do evoke aang and zuko (separately, not as a dynamic) to me. the desire for family, comfort, and for life to revert back to its "original" state before mistakes were made that irreparably altered it (a "sunlit garden" if you will)
"i'm your man" is a sokka song it is also an azula song also a zuko song maybe even an iroh song? it's a song about staking your identity in patriarchal logic especially wrt to one's own father (especially if that father happens to be the leader of a state). it's about the contradictions of patriarchy and selfhood under patriarchy and worshipping at the altar of masculinity even as subsuming its logic destroys you. (will expand on this matter whenever i finally find time to finish my sokka nanami essay. btw)
"i love me after you" is a song that could apply to any number of them but i think it's most poignant if you imagine it as an azula song ("king of all the land" is quite literal, in this case), but also like, a version of azula in the future. it's an azula song someday. eventually.
"when memories snow" is an azula song wrt the line "and if i break could i go on break" and the "thousand hands that clap for me in the dark" but the imagery of memories as snowfall also evokes the black snow that triggers sokka and katara and feels like a metonym for ptsd and trauma. for such a short song, it has a wide range of highly specific applications.
"the deal" can apply to so many characters, as it broadly follows mitski's pattern of existentialist songs such as "abbey" and "door" that can be applied to any range experiences concerning the human condition, BUT, i find it most evocative when considering iroh and his relationship to lu ten and to the spirit world. i'll expand on this more if asked, but for now. just think about it
"i don't like my mind" is such a zuko song especially book 1 zuko who is so obsessively focused on capturing the avatar because he refuses to consider the obvious implications of his situation and is in hardcore denial and avoidance of the blatant truth. he needs this job it is all he has..... please don't take my job from me......
"heaven" IS a sokka/yue song but it's also a sokka/suki song and a mai/ty lee song and really just a universally applicable love song and maybe the most beautiful song ever i dont know. "now i bend like the a willow thinking of you" makes me go crazy every time i hear/think about it probably because i am so othellopilled i think of desdemona and start crying and gnashing my teeth... anyway. on that note!
i'd be happy to expand on any of these, as i recognize that some of my claims were cursory and vague. thank you for asking this and indulging my ramblings :)

Why Tanizaki is most definitely being chosen for the ADA and PM switcheroo.
1. It has been mentioned how suited for assassination Tanizaki's ability is.
2. He's also the only ADA member without an arc (idk if Kenji counts, but he's too lovely to be moved over, and he sees the Agency as a side job).
3. Man goes bat shit crazy for his sister. He would most def kill a guy if the Mafia held his sister hostage.
4. He tried to kill Mori during the Cannibalism arc.
On why it can't be anyone else:
1. Ranpo is the backbone of the Agency, him being taken would be detrimental to them. That and I don't think he'd willingly work with the Mafia at all. (Especially if Fukuzawa dies this Arc)
2. Yosano is off limits. The agency would defend her being off limits. Even if Fukuzawa never told her the limits of the deal, Ranpo would prob be able to deduce what he said. Even though she's Mori's first choice in things.
3. Kunikida is in line to be the next Agency boss and cares far too much for his ideals and morals for the Mafia to even want him.
4. Atsushi's the main character, this one's pretty self-explanatory. His place is with the ADA and taking him away from them will ruin all the development that's been put into his character.
5. Kyouka just escaped the Mafia. And Atsushi most definitely will not let her go back. Also, the Mafia still has Kouyou, whose ability is practically the same (and I like to think Kouyou won't want Kyouka to come back).
5. Okay, the big one, Dazai. (This one is absurdly long because I'm taking these points from a debate I had with a friend (@randomanimeartist)and they think Dazai's going back, so yeah). Many of the agency members wouldn't let Dazai be chosen. Yosano knows he's had to work under Mori before and doesn't want him to go through that again, and Kunikida still wants a partner. Alongside that, Atsushi is just now starting to see Dazai instead of the orphanage director when he's stressed. (Dont know if thats a positive or not buTtt) Also, Atsushi still needs a mentor and returning Dazai to the mafia would reverse a ton of work done for his character (and he is the main guy so his development matters the most). Yes, Dazai has the potential to do evil, but he is actively trying to become a better person (if only for Oda). Whereas the only other member who has been seen to be capable of evil (that isn't Kyouka because we know she isn't getting chosen. Atsushi isn't letting go of her, and they already have Kouyou) is Tanizaki. He would literally do ANYTHING for his sister (?) and it's been shown the lengths he is willing to go. Also, Asagiri keeps mentioning that he's a boring guy who kind of just does what he's told, making him perfect Mafia material. I don't think he'll willingly go back. Mori keeps asking him if he wants his position back, and it's probably because he knows that if Dazai is forced to return, he'll just run away again. He's finally making progress, and I feel like going back just isn't an option he'll willingly take.
---
Apologies for how long this is, lol. I just think Tanizaki deserves his time to shine.

number 22 for the salt thing
22. your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores
idk if the whole fandom sleeps on this but like, the bits of the fandom I'VE seen have, and no fandom was specified for this so I’m gonna come out and say it: I like Endeavor’s arc in MHA. I like that he is a toxic, abusive father, a terrible husband, and just kinda the worst, and, key point here, I like that he figures out that he’s a bastard and realises ‘oh shit I need to do better’ and then has No Fucking Clue how to do it. Do I think it’s handled perfectly? God no, there’s problems in the writing, always will be. But I think it’s interesting, it’s intriguing, and that while I do understand people hating Enji for his actions and stuff, I think that flattening him down to just a one-note abuser actively robs the storyline of a complex and fascinating character.
I think my favourite thing about it as well is that Enji fucks it up constantly. He has no idea how to be a father, he has no idea how to be a civil human being, he knows how to be a hero in terms of doing the work side of the job (such as having the most solved cases on record or his agency focusing on all areas of heroism instead of specialising), but he can’t for the life of him be an inspiration or a leader. He’s self-centred, he’s hard-headed, he’s mean, he’s hot-tempered, he’s proud and ambitious, he can’t handle a single conversation without resorting to gruffness and intimidation, and these are flaws that he has baked into himself for decades, of course they’re not gonna just go away. I want to study him under a microscope, honestly. Here is a character who has so completely defined themselves by two things: being perfect at their job on paper, and being second best. And then, all of a sudden, for the first time in his life. He comes first. But not by any of his own merits, his hard work. Nope. He comes first by default. And he hates it.
But, then that lil finicky bit of his perfectionism comes into play, and now that he’s been handed the title that he’s spent so long trying to take, even if it isn’t how he wanted it, he’s still that stubborn fuck who’s gonna do his goddamn job, so he starts actually trying to figure out how to be what All Might was, and isn’t that so interesting, the duality of flaws? How his need to be the best made him a monster, and then, when circumstances changed, it set him on the road to try and atone. And I do mean ‘atone’. I’m definitely in the ‘this is an atonement, not a redemption’ camp. It's mostly semantics, and I’m definitely not up to date on the manga so god knows if it’s gonna get pulled off, but man, if this landing is stuck, I’d love it.
Following on from that: I’m absolutely on team ‘none of the Todorokis die at the end’. I think the best ending for the Todoroki family is that they all live, and they all keep getting to have interesting and different interactions with each other. Because the reactions to Enji from his family are the other best part of his arc. Stories thrive on drama and conflict, and this man is a walking fusion generator of the two. Rei wants nothing to do with him for good reason until she needs to work with him to help their son, she has her own demons to deal with as well. Fuyumi is forgiving to her father, but that doesn’t mean she’s not still angry at him, she has her own reasoning for doing so. Natsuo would be happy if he got to live the rest of his life never having to talk to his dad again but doesn’t want him dead. Dabi is just swinging wildly between every emotion known to man with the dial turned all the way up, his issues are all standing on top of each other in one emo trench coat that’s currently setting everything on fire before anyone can realise there’s a person behind the nightmare. And Shouto is also in this complicated space of sorta wanting stop being angry, not for Enji’s sake but for his own.
If Enji was just a one-note character, the abuser using his hero status to get away with his crimes, then that would lose all the interesting interplay between the family. It takes all the teeth out of the Todoroki plotline. And Enji or Dabi dying at the end? Well, where’s the story supposed to go from there, it doesn’t fit, it’s a cop out for Enji’s plotline, which is all about ‘you are not allowed to escape the consequences of your actions, you must live to see the damage you have done and work to fix it’. Enji is a man defined by his need to work, and so work he must.
What a fun way to take a character. (Again reiterating that I’m not saying you have to like him but like. I think he’s very polarising for good reason and that often leads to people flattening him down into Pure Evil Abuser, and I feel like from what I’ve seen of the fandom, the interesting stuff about him gets lost in that.)

Identity and Self-Determination for Human!Halbrand, Bronwyn, and the Southlanders
Guys this is such a long post, I have so many thoughts, I tried to keep them organized but idk how well I did. Also this post was partially inspired by a fascinating convo with @demi-lancer so go check that blog out, too!
Disclaimer: I love all the theory posts about Saubrand, I think both the writers and Charlie Vickers have done a great job of keeping things open to interpretation. But I’m going forward here with the assumption that Halbrand is 100% USDA Certified Grade A Manflesh.
Tl;dr: Human!Halbrand and the Southlanders are interesting to me precisely because they are "just some dudes" trying to forge an identity against all the craziness in Middle Earth. Our two main Southlander protagonists, Halbrand and Bronwyn, aren't heroes because of special powers, they're heroes because they show up and do the work to give their people a shot at making their own fate.
RoP makes heavy use of the themes of identity and self-determination, which are important themes in the Tolkien Legendarium generally. Naming yourself, naming others, or being named BY others…this has real consequences in Arda for the fortunes of both individuals and sociopolitical groups.
The Southlanders are struggling to forge their own path and their own identity. Their ancestors tried to do it by casting their lot with Morgoth but that didn’t work out very well. By the time we’re introduced to their society, they have been denied their right to identity and self-determination for quite a long time. The elves have been keeping a close eye on them (maybe limiting their movements?) and both elves and Numenoreans look down on them as a whole. They’ve also been denied access to the elven affluence and resources that the Numenoreans have had. For example, Halbrand has clearly never seen anything like the giant Numenorean statues before and he’s so blown away just by being in a prosperous city built by humans. (And then Galadriel’s just like “these men are not like you” wow girl, ouch, okay then.)
Not only have the Southlanders been under elven control for generations but they then have Adar and Co showing up to completely remove their agency by killing or enslaving them and destroying the land they live on. Bronwyn’s heroic journey starts because she stands up against this. She rallies who she can because screw you, you don’t get to just waltz in and demand we bend the knee and sacrifice those rights or our lives to you. Even if Adar and Co have faced similar mistreatment, they don’t get to claim their own rights by taking away others’ (a topic for another post).
And when the villagers return home to prepare for that last battle, what do they do? Pop an orc head on a pike. That’s a powerful message: you try to take this from us and we will fight back.
We see this struggle happening on an individual level with Halbrand in the way he names himself vs being named by others and the ways in which he compromises safety for identity.
Halbrand is evasive about his past (I think partially for safety and partially because of the shameful and/or painful memories there) but he is very clear about his name. When he and Galadriel enter the throne room, Miriel only addresses Galadriel (giving her agency to name herself) but he adds his name in there, too.
Tamar the Guildsman is in the room, hears Halbrand’s name, but later either forgets or pretends to forget. Instead he just calls him “low man” repeatedly, showing again how the Southlanders are defined and thus limited by others. At first, Halbrand is evasive because Tamar is clearly trying to intimidate. But once confrontation is inevitable, Halbrand makes sure to repeat his name before smacking Tamar into the wall. (Apparently Halbrand is unaware of the effect of head trauma on memory formation but hey none of us are perfect.)
Halbrand also holds onto the king sigil/amulet (omg what is in that pouch, bro, is it the blood your ancestor swore on?) despite its threat to his plan of outrunning his past. It clearly means something in his community; Bronwyn recognizes it immediately. It’s unique enough that Galadriel can dig up its backstory at her local public library. So if he’s trying to disappear, why hold onto this thing? Because it’s crucial to his identity and in the end he’s not willing to give that up. In fact, he does the opposite: he takes it back to the Southlands in an effort to use the identity it creates to save his society.
I’m really excited to follow Halbrand and Bronwyn’s stories as they/their society wrestle with the legacy of past decisions while at the same time struggling just to survive day-to-day. Clearly Halbrand has done some things that he now really regrets. I think his family has probably been closely tied to the cult of Morgoth/Sauron and inter-human conflict in the region (he had to get that combat experience somewhere). Also I just can't stop thinking about the sheer amount of strong chains Adar and Co used to enslave people and the fact that Halbrand is a smith. And if everyone I knew got killed by the person I made chains for OR put in the chains I made? I'd run, too.
Now Halbrand is trying to counteract that past by stepping up to lead and protect his community from essentially the threat of extinction. Bronwyn is on a similar journey, though it seems that her personal past is less dicey. Neither of them have the powers of elves or the advantages of Numenoreans. They’re just regular people who grew up in a troubled area that recently gained A LOT MORE problems. While they have allies like Arondir, Galadriel, and some of Numenor, it’s still down to them to keep their people alive and find a new home now that agriculture in the Southlands is uuhhhhhh probably impossible.
This also sets us up for future wraith!Halbrand (as much as it grieves me to say). Because after struggling against these insane magical forces and seeing so many of your people suffer and die, of course you’re gonna make use of whatever tools might help level the playing field. Like a magical ring of power. In this way, Halbrand isn’t so much an Aragorn parallel as he is a Boromir parallel.
But before the inevitable tragedy, I’m hoping we get to see Halbrand and Bronwyn working together to lead their people to a safer place where they can shed the dark legacies of the past and create both a new identity and a new path for the people who were the Southlanders.

CW: S*icidal thoughts, jokes about s*icide, abuse. Hurt/comfort Shigdabi? dabishig? idk
Toya’s eyes fell to the barely illuminated pavement below him. The street lights had come on some time ago signalling that he probably was supposed to go back inside. Despite that, he remained sitting on the top of the building, letting the blue flames dance along his fingers. This was the routine, if that damn man was on the news then Toya would be up here.
He had arrested some infamous villain within hours of his agency being tasked with the cases. His popularity in the polls was rising because of it, the reporter had gone on and on about how amazing he was, praising him for almost the entire time slot.
Toya only felt sick to his stomach. No one knew, of course, no one knew that the man they were praising was a selfish, abusive man. Who harmed his own family just for the sake of some damn ranking.
“Hey…” A raspy voice came from behind him.
Well, Almost no one knew that.
Toya glanced over his shoulder and killed the flame in his hands, “That reporter done yapping?”
Tenko sighed and made his way closer to the other. “Yeah, finally. I’m surprised they didn’t cut her off early. Praising the flaming asshole must be more important than timeslots.”
The ebony-haired boy sat down beside him, having his legs dangling from the edge. This was also routine. Tenko was the one to come check on him, he was really the only one who knew why he came out here anyway. The others in the class only figured he was embarrassed. That was true, but not nearly for the same reason.
He was embarrassed to have that man’s blood flowing through his veins, to know that no matter how much he did to be a hero in his own right, everyone would only see Endeavor’s oldest son. The oldest son that he had rejected, the one that he had deemed too weak. If one is hurt by his own quirk then there was no chance he’d be as strong as his father made him to be.
The words of that night echoed in Toya’s mind every time he saw him on television, or heard his name. He hadn’t been back home, he had run away and was determined to prove the man wrong. Now he was here at UA, and despite his attempts to keep his connection a secret, his last name was still evidence of what family he came from.
A gloved hand holding a can of soda entered his vision and pulled him from his thoughts. He took it with a small ‘thanks.’
Tenko had his own soda by the sounds of the can opening to his right. Though, Toya’s eyes remained fixated on the pavement.
“You can’t take revenge against him if you jump.”
It was so abrupt and nonchalant that it forced a laugh out of Toya, as well as the sip of the soda he had just taken. “The hell Tenko?” He said through a mix of coughs and quiet laughs.
Tenko was laughing himself, as he wiped off the residuals of Toya’s spit take that ended up on his sleeve. “Just sayin. It got you to stop looking at the damn ground didn’t it?” He stated with a sly grin.
Toya rolled his eyes, but Tenko was right. He wasn’t sure if he was really contemplating jumping, but it wasn’t like the thought had never crossed his mind. This Tenko also knew. His goal of sticking it to his father felt hopeless. It wasn’t like he’d be believed if he did go public with the information.
He sighed and got off the ledge onto the pavement of the roof, only to lay down on his back again. The cool cement felt nice on his burns. The nighttime wind was beginning to pick up as well, the breeze reminding him that winter was going to set in soon. “Not gonna jump.” He muttered, more to himself than to Tenko.
“Good. It’d be sad if your last game of smash bros was you getting your ass kicked.” Tenko joked as he followed Toya’s movements, and laid down beside him.
Toya only laughed but kept silent, he had let Tenko win that time anyway. However, that wasn’t the point of Tenko’s statement and he knew that.
The two laid in silence for what felt like hours, holding space for each other. Tenko wasn’t always outright about what was bothering him, that was something they both shared. Toya wasn’t any good at comforting but he knew that it was helping the other to just be here, with him. If he had to admit it, it did the same for him. Every time.
Toya’s mind was once again filled with words and memories, but instead of them being ones of his father, it was ones he shared with Tenko. Nights like this that were too frequent to count, days where neither spoke, but were together the entire time, training sessions that ended in gaming too late into the night. The common thread was the feeling these memories brought up.
Safe.
Tenko felt safe.
It wasn’t just because Tenko was training alongside him to be a pro hero, or that he was in the care of the number one hero and presumably getting more training tips from him, frankly Toya was sure he was stronger than the other when it came to fighting. It was because they could do this, and sit in silence whenever the other needed it. Hold the space while they process whatever traumatic memories decide to rear their heads.
It wasn’t something he wanted to let go of, ever.
“Let’s make our own agency when we graduate.”
The silence that followed Toya’s statement was the first time that safety was gone. He wasn’t what one would call anxious, he always just kept his walls up, his fangs bared at anyone who tried to get close. He told himself that he was content with being alone all of his life.
He knew that was a lie when Tenko had first sat up on the roof with him.
“Yeah… Let’s do it. We’ll be our own heroes.”
Toya could hear the grin in Tenko’s voice. That almost crazed smile he got when he was really excited about something.
It was infectious.
That’s the only reason Toya was smiling too, at least that’s what he told himself.

Idk....Taylor just looked so genuinely happy and smitten with Matty....I'm being serious. There just seemed to be a lightness about her, like she was comfortable and enjoying their time together. I just hope if those feelings were genuine, she wakes the fuck up and does something about it before it's too late again. And she definitely should have said something, not even to defend Matty....that's not her job, but to defend her relationship choices and her privacy. I know most PR people will tell you to ignore untrue rumors and let them just play out and die .... but this was the one time I was really disappointed that she allowed the absolute vitriol to get so out of hand. She really let these awful humans take away both her and Matty's agency, and it's sad and frustrating. She is a grown ass, multi-million dollar boss bitch.....she needs to be as strong-willed and powerful when it comes to her fans as she is when it comes to the likes of the Scooter Brauns of the world. So what if she loses a few fans? The ones spewing that level of hatred are horrible human beings, and she'd be better off without them in the fandom. We'd all be better off because they make Taylor and all of us look like psychos too.
Selena and Ariana come on social media and clap back at their fans, and say be nice and be kind. And Taylor‘s never really done that. I think it’s because she thinks that she owes her fans everything. But Taylor‘s worked her ass off for like 17 years. And she’s so focused on these re-recordings and making sure that they’re a success. But girl be fucking for real. She would probably get new fans by calling her own fans dumb cunts because then people would probably admire her for having a back bone and not write another article poor pitiful Taylor and her psycho fans who treat her like shit but they are all she has in this world because she can’t keep a man…

Pro Hero! Kirishima x Reader
Tumblr media
summary: Kirishima's assistant falling hard for him since she deserves a man who deserves the world and deserves multiple breaks in her opinion, the assistant trying to deny her/their own feelings because it's just a "office crush" and she'll get over it, only for Kirishima to be in love with her too, the roses that would be under her boyfriend's name but always saying, "let's not talk about the roses when you see me" because he's really not trying to home wreck but at the same time he's just so in love with her, after all reader is a good iron fist in the company yet very kind. CW: fluff, pining, reader has a partner A/N: idk who the boyfriend is but reader and Kirishima deserve a happy ending because he is the best boy❤️ Maybe I'll do a part two of this, idk what do yall think?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It wasn't easy working for someone you'd fallen hopelessly in love with. The moment Eijiro came back from his leave, things seemed different between the two of you. Even before the break, the two of you had spent more time apart than together - especially in those days where you weren't even allowed to speak to each other, apart from various emails regarding paperwork or interviews Eijiro had scheduled.
However, now that his leave was over and he was back to the agency full time, you couldn't keep yourself from daydreaming, either during the workday or while you were going home. You wanted nothing more than to spend every second you could with him, but you knew that you needed to put up some sort of emotional wall, and make sure that this "crush" was kept strictly professional. So whenever he tried to hug you or catch up on what happened during his leave, you'd quickly change the subject, insisting that you didn't have much free time lately and needed to focus on the job at hand.
At first, it was rough on you, and it took quite some effort to refrain from giving in to your desires. But somehow, despite your attempts to stay as far away as possible from thinking about him, you still found yourself getting drawn into your thoughts, especially when Kirishima would let his guard down and joke around about how much he missed you while he was away. Whenever he did, you felt a tug inside of you, urging you to run off somewhere with him and confess your true feelings to him. Of course, these moments passed rather quickly, as they always did. After all, if there was one thing that you knew for certain, it was that Kirishima did not like to take risks. It made sense, really. If something was important enough to risk his career over, then chances are, it meant a lot to him. But you knew better.
And besides, you were happy with the way things were going between you two. It had been such a long time since anyone had treated you the way he did, or showed you any affection in general. You'd been starved for it, really, and you were content to let things continue as they were. However, the situation changed once you realized that you'd fallen for the sweet red haired hero, for reasons that you couldn't fully understood. At first, it confused you, and you tried to push those thoughts away.
Given how Kirishima had always treated you, it was clear that he genuinely cared about you, and not just in a professional capacity. There was something special about the two of you, something that had been there since day one. For the longest time, you'd secretly harbored these thoughts , but you never dared say anything out loud because you knew that it was impossible. And yet here you were, feeling your heart race every time he talked about you. This wasn't what you had in mind when you applied to work at the agency.
The feelings in your head were a struggle, especially when you had someone else in your life that you cared about. It wasn't worth losing what you had built with Yoichi just because of a silly crush, right? You'd come too far with him, and he deserved better than someone who kept chasing after people who weren't available. Sure, the fact that your feelings were being thrown back at you may have hurt at first, but it didn't matter anymore. As long as you stuck by his side, everything would turn out okay. You promised yourself that you wouldn't let anyone or anything stand in the way of your relationship. Because as long as you two were strong, everything would be fine. At least that's what you told yourself when Yoichi yelled at you, drunk off his nightly libations, for coming home twenty minutes late for work.
You never thought you'd ever meet someone who made you question everything you believed in. Maybe that's why it hurt so badly. You never saw the look in Eijiro's eyes whenever you had fresh flowers sent to your desk. You could tell they were from Yoichi, except they were always signed "Please don't ask me about these when you get home. Just enjoy the gift, princess." He hadn't called you princess in years. Even now, you wiped a tear from your eyes, wondering where the two of you had gone so wrong.
Tumblr media
He never wanted to be a home wrecker. Not really, at least. But Eijiro could see the pain in your eyes whenever someone mentioned your shitty boyfriend. On more than one occasion, he contemplated asking Bakugo for assistance to "straighten" the guy out, but ultimately decided against it. He didn't want to come off as that guy, so instead, he signed the flowers he sent you weekly as vague as he could so you could enjoy them. You were the sweetest human, and by far the most intelligent person he'd ever had the chance to meet.
And he was fucking head-over-heels in love with you.
You were exactly the reason he got up in the morning every day; why he tried his best every single day to better himself for you.
Whenever something would go wrong or some shit got stolen from the lab (it happened pretty often, actually), he knew that he couldn't rely on anyone else but you to save the day. Your ideas were absolutely brilliant, and even if you thought that they were silly, you still put your whole heart into them. And honestly? It was so damn endearing.
No matter what kind of a bad day he was having, he knew that a simple smile from you would make everything feel okay again. The first thing he saw every single morning was your beautiful face. Those bright e/c eyes and luscious lips. That long h/c hair and those perfectly chiseled cheekbones. How the fuck did he get so lucky to find someone like you to be his assistant?
When he thought about all the women he'd slept with, he realized that none of them could ever compare to you. They were all just pointless filler until he found you. He just had to find a way to make you see what you had, and what was waiting for you. Eijiro couldn't stand to see you in pain. If there was any way he could fix it, he'd be the one to find it. After all, what kind of boss lets their employees suffer?

Also on the 'beating the shit out of V's dad with a bat' train 👋
Real talk though I love his betrayal of the RFA on a narrative note. V really is your rock in Saeran's route. Even with the disconnect of playing a game, you can feel how genuine he is about wanting to keep you and Saeran safe. As players we can get a clearer picture on why he went back to Rika at the end of the route bc of what we know. But someone inside that universe, who doesn't know the depths of V's trauma, who only knows that he disappeared for a month and the moment he came back he drugged the people he said were precious to him, just to kidnap Saeran?
Idk how Lila reacted, but 'furious' is a slight understatement for my MC
In terms of my MC when it comes to this, she's not happy, either. Lila is upset with him because she spent a good chunk of her time during her stay in Mint Eye trying to convince him to get help from the rest of the RFA. She thought that he was listening to her concerns about his well-being at that time. He was her rock while she was there, and she wanted to believe he was taking her advice seriously just as much as she was taking his.
It was her opinion he was going to leave that place with her and Saeran. When he didn't, that made her know right away that he was going to do something that would hurt him in the end. She didn’t realize that he was going to turn back to her and destroy everything that he had tried to protect all that time. It hurt to see and she couldn’t look at him the same way ever again. She shared things with him that were personal about her trauma and talked to him about everything that she’d gone through to relate to him... hoping that he might change and get help to stop suffering alone.
But, see, she’s angry with him to a point. She’s not a person who uses anger as a weapon. She gets angry but she has the tendency to internalize. She feels like she didn’t do enough. Why didn’t she tell the RFA more about it? She did make a promise with Saeran that they would talk to V first... but she should’ve told him about the fact that V called that night and how it seemed like he was trying to go back to Rika. But, she didn’t, and neither does the MC in the Route canonically.
She didn’t know for sure that he was going back to Rika. She wanted to believe that V was trying to take care of it in a better way, trying to believe that he truly wanted to make things right and he was attempting to figure out the best way to drop this news on everyone. She wanted to believe he was sitting in his house all by himself and questioning his choices... not back at Mint Eye with Rika with a burning desire to go back on his progress and hurt himself. She had faith in a man named Jihyun Kim, but he failed himself, and thusly, failed her and Saeran.
She doesn’t get the context that I get as the player beyond the fourth wall. She doesn’t get to know the specifics of what V and Rika have gone through. All she knows is what he’s told her... and that’s not enough. But, she’s angry. She just knows that anger in that situation won’t solve anything. She’s seething, but she knows that she can’t do anything against the Agency or the Prime Minister. She is just one person... one vulnerable person. She has a breakdown and cries to Saeran about it after she wakes up the hospital in the AE.
Because she “should’ve” seen this coming... even if she had no way of knowing that. Saeran doesn’t blame her because it isn’t her fault. These two have a lot of trauma, your honor. Throughout the AE, I know for sure that she’s struggling to express her feelings because she knows if she shows anger or lashes out, that’s putting Saeran at risk. So, she festers, burning in a pit, angry at everyone and so upset at the fact that she might lose her love Saeran all because of what Jihyun did.
I haven’t written it out yet! I only wrote the Day 3 scene where you leave him at the lake. :[

curious to hear your thoughts about this: i was reading a lesbian academic's book about how patriarchy began and she hypothesized that men at one point in prehistoric times realized they could profit off of women's biological features and started selling them in trade like cattle & she also wrote that some osa women helped facilitate that trafficking/selling women into slavery. if that was the case, shouldn't bihet women today stop acting as if they're 100% innocent...
That's the thing, there is no one group of humans who have a 100% innocent history and haven't benefited from exerting some type of power or control over others. Both women and men have used amd abused other women men, and children for their own gains.
To be completely honest, I take a share of feminist theories with a grain of salt. This is the same ideology brought forth people who claim that women in relationships with men will always suffer, and even that every heterosexual encounter is actually rape. A happily married heterosexual woman, for example, will have her agency removed by feminists to fit their narrative.
Humans have been literally enslaved throughout history (not just in the theoretical sense wrt women being kept barefoot and pregnant for example) for race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, beliefs, etc. There are women who were not a part of any specific enslaved class that contributed to upholding those horrific systems as well.
Like idk, men have enslaved and subjugated other men too, in the literal and figurative sense. Men have used other men for profit. So the slavery comparison doesn't really work for me when tied solely to female oppression. Women don't hold a monopoly on being exploited despite what feminists say.
Do I think that the natural reproductive process has been used as wrongful justification for keeping women away from leadership, ownership of assests, autonomy, education, etc etc.? Yes. Definitely. But the dynamic between men and women in societies is more complex than man-oppress-woman always.
But feminist rhetoric thrives on the view that all women are perpetual victims in all circumstances. Ironically, similar to what you pointed out, the only exception to that is when they want to pretend like het and bi women play no part in the negative opinions and actions towards female homosexuality. Lesbians cease to be victims and somehow become privileged for not having to suffer from an attraction to men. Which makes no sense whatsoever.

Chapter 149 Expert Review Time
Hey gamers what’s up time for another CHAPTER 👏 REVIEW 👏
It was looking kinda bleak last time for pretty much everyone so I’m hoping things improved this time around, but it seems Murata and ONE are kinda going through their “I’m going to put my characters through the MOST” phase so… that feels unlikely. But nevertheless… still excited to see my favorite boys.
The 10000th Psychic Sister cover. Murata, I’m begging you. There’s literally like 30 other characters to choose from. I know you like drawing boobs but imma need you to put the pencil down for a minute and take a walk because this just ain’t IT.
Tumblr media
“Summer is coming” it is July. Summer has been here for ten years. I’m so fucking hot all the time. Everything has been evaporated out of me and I’m literally a raisin.
The Psychic Sisters covers are just so devoid of life a lot of the time… I wouldn’t mind if it was them fighting or engaging in everyday activities but when they’re posed for the camera and deliberately placed there to look sexy it just sucks all the human out of them. The cover/splash page is a great chance to show characters in a new light!!! It’s mostly set away from the story so you can do whatever you want! Choosing to make 80 fanservice covers is just wasted opportunity for what could be additional character development. It’s gotten to a point where even the smegma-slinging bitchboys on Reddit are complaining about the excessive sexy covers…. When PussySlayer384756 complains that there’s too much tittage being shown, that’s how you KNOW we’ve got a problem. Now, idk how the fan climate is in Japan but I can’t imagine they’re feeling much different over there either.
Also, her anatomy is… janky. Her tit is bigger than her head, her belly is too long, and she’s got like 4 spare ribs. Like, I’m by no means an art expert but it doesn’t take a chef to know the soup is shit, you know what I mean? I feel like page after page of Murata drawing obscene muscle men has made him rusty on what should be (somewhat) normal-looking people.
Darkshine learns what TRUE peak male performance looks like.
Tumblr media
You’ve gotta wonder how Darkshine even got to the S-Class to begin with when he pussies out of nearly every single fight… except the one where the opponent was literal water. Everyone says that he just joined the association for additional validation, and I believe it… this boy is not cut out for actual hero-ing. 99% Of the time HE’S the one who needs a hero.
It kinda bothers me how useless he’s been post-Garou fight, especially when we spent like an entire chapter trying to console his ass. I get that’s part of his character and development… but it’s begun to slow things down. We get it. We don’t need to see him be insecure every time a new enemy pops up. One was enough. We would’ve gotten the same effect if he just sat out the entire time post-consolation, because everything that’s happened to him on the surface has been kinda redundant.
Here comes the boooyyy 🎶🎶

Nice callback. I’m glad Metal Bat is finally here. Bitch runs slow as fuck.
It’s nice to see him act on his own agency instead of orders from the hero association. He’s clearly much happier when helping out on his own accord, and has a ton of initiative too. The chapter he got with just he and King meeting up and slingshotting themselves to the fight was really a breath of fresh air from all of the fighting. It’s moments like these where ONE remembers that people like OPM for the characters, and not necessarily the pretty action sequences. I really like this duo. I like Metal Bat. I like it when they’re given time to be themselves and not just vessels for the next fight scene.
I know I said I wanted the heroes to die but Murata I’m begging you please don’t kill the child. You can kill Puri, though. I hate that fucker.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Child Emperor regularly visiting and eating with Bofoi even despite being his lab assistant would be a lot cuter if Bofoi wasn’t the human equivalent to a dog turd. I might’ve overstated that… seems like Bofoi is just using him as an errand boy. The clear lack of respect he has for CE is very indicative of his character and is not necessarily a bad thing plot-wise, but I would still like to beat him with a cane. Additionally, it’s clear that he’s not going to help the heroes here. At least, I don’t think so. His “fuck them kids” attitude seems to be a pretty big pillar in the building of his character and I doubt ONE would jeopardize that just because he’s written himself into a corner. Oh, well. We’ll see.
It’s very sweet that even when near death, CE still thinks of Zombieman. Aaaaghh it’s so GOOD when the characters actually LIKE each other. I know realistically not everyone is gonna be friends but man… it would be a lot cooler if we got more insight on their chemistry. Pleaz have more Metal Bat-and-King-esque chapters. I wanna see how everyone gets along.
Also, the concept of Puri just manifesting drilling powers and carving through solid rock with nothing else but pure strength and determination is so funny. A little convenient, sure, but I really don’t care because it’s actually done well. Their reunion scene is hilarious. More stuff like this pleaz….
I don’t even know what to say about Genos here. Dude, I know you made an oath to protect Tatsumaki or whatever, but there’s no shame in a good bail. You can’t even bail anymore because your damn legs are gone. See, this is what happens when you make promises. The secret to keeping your legs intact is doing the bare minimum. Hope this helps ❤️
Tumblr media
He’s making a valiant effort but… I’m afraid he just ain’t gonna do much while roleplaying as a worm. Maybe he’ll make a chrysalis and come out as a butterfly. Wait, that’s caterpillars. Fuck. TATSUMAKI IS A GONER, BRO. WE NEED YOU TO BE THE DEUTERAGONIST!! IF YOU DIE WE LOSE 70% OF MERCH SALES NOOOOOOOO
Local man has a heart attack in front of thousands of little monsters and somehow saves the world, more at 5.
Tumblr media
King I’m begging you please get that shit checked out that’s not NORMAL.
Yeah, I like this conclusion. Very tasteful cliffhanger. I mean we know King ain’t gonna do shit but SOMEHOW black sperm is gonna get punted like the little cumstain he is. Can’t wait to see the events that unfold next chapter… it seems like every scene that involves King turns out to be really funny and I’m super looking forward to black sperm seeing Jesus.
Also, a little off-topic but I just really like the way Murata inked his pants. Got a real comic book feel to it. I mean, he’s just really good at drawing clothes overall (save for Fubuki’s body-tight dress that is 100% not how women’s clothing works but I digress). Fucker understands fabric physics like I understand how to make a bomb ass chicken parm. I respect it.
In conclusion, lower everyone’s expectations of you and you might get to keep your arms and legs. This has been Life Lessons from Forrest. You now owe me 50$.
