carlos's radio message of “ gap to lando every lap" and carlos intentionally slowing down just enough to keep lando within drs range , lando understanding the signal. when told by his race engineer about the gap (0.8) carlos goes like “ it's on purpose ”. do you understand how much coordination, trust and intimacy you have to have with THAT driver to have that amount of telepathy with? like. nobody apart from CarLando could pull that off. i repeat, nobody else.

okay so let me check my notes umm... according to fakclaimers:
systems can only be kids because it only develops then, but also can only be adults over 20 or so because otherwise you're making it up for tiktok OR wouldn't possibly know yet, and you have to be diagnosed with DID/OSDD but you also have to be truamagenic or the diagnosis doesn't count even if it comes from a doctor, and if you're truamagenic but self diagnosed then you're lying or confused. if you're truamagenic AND diagnosed then you're a freak and dangerous to the public OR you have to live in secret or else you must be lying. you can't be plural on purpose through thoguhtform because then you're making yourself disabled and that's fetishizing but you also can't be plural against your will UNLESS you met the previous critera otherwise that wouldn't happen to you. and you can't call yourself a t-pla ever even though the controvery is around cultural appropriation and a stranger has no clue over the internet if you have the right to reclaim, which you VERY WELL MIGHT. but if you call yourself a thoughform you're cringe and too woke. if you're endogenic you can't call yourself a system but you also can't call yourself plural or a collective or anything else. If you're mixed-orgin you're just a confused truamagenic or a lying endogenic.
You also can't have introjects because that's cringe and cringe means you're lying but you also can't have original alters because then you're just roleplaying as OCs. as an introject you can't hate your source or be neutral because then why would you introject?? but you can't love them or else you're just a crazy fan pretending to be them. as an original alter you can't be TOO different from the original or that's just something out of a movie but you can't be alike because then you're not really an alter.
You can't have only nice alters who get along together because then you're faking and if you have alter conflict then you need to be locked up because you're probably a serial killer. and you have to only have split when you were little and can't split ever again even though that's something that happens all the time even past people's 20s, and you can't have any other disorder or you're just wrong about being plural, and you can't hate being plural because then you're attention seeking and clearly must be pretending to have a disorder for pity, and you can't love being plural because you're not allowed to love having a disorder or disability, and you can't be neutral about it because why the fuck wouldn't you have a big reaction to being so weird?? you're weird. so you must be lying about being weird because everyone else finds this shocking and disturbing or fascinating and surely so would you.
and you can't not date because then you're missing out (even if ur aro, ace, or aroace mostly) and you can't date because then you're abusing your partner and lying to them by being multiple people since you're clearly just one OR you're making them date strangers which is also bad, and you can't date another system because you can't know other systems personally or else you're all fakers, and you can't date in-headspace because that's too weird to be true. you can't all be striaght because that's unrealistic so you're faking but if your alters all have different sexualities that's a sure sign you're faking and just making up OCs and if you're all gay then you're ALSO faking and just trying to be Jefferson Miku Binder Woke and are a cringe SJW. You can't all be the same gender but you can't be different genders either and you can't have individual labels but if you id as genderfluid or pluralgender or something collective that's cringe and clearly a sign you're just a dumb lying teenager begging for attention.
you can't have a consistent host but also you can't have anyone other than the "original" front for too long. you can't be able to control switches but you also need to be able to "prove it" by switching in front of other people. you can't have different mannerisms or handwriting because that's overdone and dramatic and clearly just theatre and you can't have the same mannerisms or handwriting becase then you're clearly just lying. You can't think of yourself as one person because that's confusing, but you can't think of yourself as multiple people, because you share a body so CLEARLY you must be one singular person!!!!! If you use i/me pronouns you're faking and just forgetting to act plural as a plothole in ur lies and if you use we/us you're also faking and clearly only know about systems through tiktok. if you go by your infividual names you're being confusing and a hasstle and a bitch, but if you use a collective name or go by the og/host's name you're lying and a catfish abuser. if you get final fusion you're not plural anymore and don't get to talk about it. if you don't get final fusion you're a faker.
you can't literally be seperate because that makes no sense, you can't have more than one consciousness in one mind!! but you can't just be one person separated by memory walls with the EFFECT being "as if" you were actually seperate because then you're not really plural.
you can't act or dress normal because "we'd be able to tell" but you can't be visibly weird or plural because then you're fake, cringe, or both. you can't roleplay or cosplay because that means your plurality is cosplay too, but you can't avoid roleplaying and cosplaying because then you're crazy for identifying as another person than the og but not being able to dress up as a different person (and/or your source if ur an introject).
did i get it all?? no, probably, because there's way more rules and contradictions than even these, huh?? there's an infinite list of rules and ideas but really they're all just set dressing. all the conflicts just end up resulting in one, big rule. but they don't say the big rule because a long list like that, if it's spread out and not put in one post like this, doesn't look as mean. so it's easier to swallow it one bit at a time, to rule out one way of life after another, then to say it outright.
when every possible way to be is ruled out, you get the real rule, which is:
"If you're plural or a system, you can't exist."
there is no acceptable way to be plural. the only "correct" way to be plural is to be erased entirely.

I feel like for the first few years of guardianship Darius and Hunter really struggle to figure out how to refer to each other.
Like it's easier for Hunter, he pretty quickly settles on "guardian" for explaining their relationship to other people and just referring to Darius by name when talking to the man himself. Overtime the phrasing gradually warms, becoming "foster parent" and eventually, once Hunter's already an adult old enough to move out, "Dad".
(Sidenote: he doesn't move out til he's in his mid to late twenties, bc he's under no obligation too, Darius low-key doesn't want him too, and the two of them want to make up for lost time in a sense, since Hunter only had 2 years of legal dependency on Darius before aging out of the system. Darius adopts Hunter retroactively as an adult)
Darius on the other hand has a real conundrum on his hands for those first few years. He has a lot of options! But "ward" is too formal and makes it sound like Darius picked him up off the street like after his parents were murdered, "apprentice/student" isn't really accurate considering the focus of Darius and Hunter's relationship has less to do with Hunter learning magic and more to do with Hunter being housed and fed. "Kid" and "foster son" are there...but...
Look, Darius isn't going to refer to Hunter more familiarly than Hunter refers to him! He's not gonna make it WEIRD. He's not a dad, because Hunter doesn't want/need him to be (and also parenthood is scary <3). Darius doesn't know the first thing about being a dad, despite how his friend group teases him.
Eda and Eberwolf are the two who are worst about it. They torture him with how 'fatherly' he's allegedly being (allegations Darius will DENY til his GRAVE!!!) And Eda specifically compares his journey to hers, saying it always starts off with you referring to them as your apprentice (again, Darius doesn't plan on doing that), as your roommate (...kinda weird in Darius' opinion? But okay Eda), or even your pet (????HELLO???). But eventually, they always become your dumb kid when you least expect it.
She's had a couple cups of appleblood by this point, but Darius knows on some level she's right and he's steadfastly ignoring that fact, even as Eber continues to refer to Hunter as his "cub" (kinda cute but Darius doesn't know how Hunter would feel being compared to an animal). The only people who are even remotely reasonable about all this (besides Lilith who's a bit disinterested in kid talk) is Raine and Alador, who both sort of neutrally, a bit awkwardly refer to Hunter as Darius' Boy.
Darius referring to Hunter as "my boy" is funnily enough what sticks the longest before it evolves to son boy. Hunter's crushing it at a derby match? Darius is whooping and cheering, yelling "THAT'S MY BOY!!!" At the other parents in the stands. Hunter is doing something dangerous or inadvisable where others can see him? "Darius, your boy-" "AHH! MY BOY". Hunter, a year into his stay with Darius finally comes clean about everything to do with him being a grimwalker, and is afraid that he's going to go back to seeing him as just an inferior replacement for Darius' beloved mentor? Darius (who has just had to process some of the most bonkers, emotionally heavy information in his life) gently, hesitantly puts a hand on his shoulder (the 'good' one Hunter doesn't mind people touching), and says that Hunter's much more than that. He's Darius' Boy and he's not going to kick him out or get angry or love him any less for things out of his control. It's good. They're good.
Like I said, it evolves over time and 'boy' becomes somewhat obsolete as the two get caught up in the joy of finally feeling able to explicitly refer to each other as family. But unlike "guardian" or "ward" the word never gets fully retired. Even when Hunter is 30 and is arguing that he's more of a man than a boy now, he is still getting referred to by Darius as "his boy", the way some parents never really stop calling their adult kids baby or kiddo (Camila and Eda respectively btw).
Hunter makes one of those corny matching shirt sets at some point for a father's Day gift when he's 17/18, where the two shirts say "if lost, return Boy to me" (Darius) and "I'm Boy" (Hunter). Hunter mostly did it so he could own a funny shirt that says "I'm boy". Darius openly weeps upon seeing them. Like Oh my Titan he's boy. He's my boy. Oh wow
#ramblings of a lunatic#the owl house#toh#hunter toh#darius deamonne#dadrius#made this instead of finishing my dadrius week day 1 comic. it's okay i have time#i think this post dips it's toes into being one of those 'part writing drabble/part textpost analysis' posts#which I'm okay w/ tbh i love those#i just hope it reads well#the important thing about dadrius + eberwolf to me is that it's just as unlikely a trio as King Eda and Luz are#just as weird and has just as gradual and retrospectively funny a journey as them#i also specified foster parent instead of adoptive parent just bc i read it in a fic once where Hunter was placed in isles foster care-#-post canon and he had a social worker who was a gargoyle named Chantelle. it was delightful#this is my homage to that. the fic was 'the titan laughs in flowers' i think (thank you user yardsards for the rec)#alador still gets the instinct to refer to Hunter as the golden guard and amity gets on his case about it#so referring to Hunter as darius' boy grew out of that and spread to raine who finds it kind of adorable#darius refers to hunter as his foster son for the first time when his (darius' i mean) family comes to visit#not as like a statement of anything they don't deny Hunter as a deamonne. they love him like they love a scraggly cat#but just like. it felt right for Darius in the moment and Hunter got emotional about it#anyway happy early dadrius week I'm rotating them in my mind I'm biting down on them like a chew toy etc etc

Crowley the Fallen Angel is genuinely one of the best metaphors/allegories for being a transgender person that I have ever seen in media. (Or: an attempt at a Good Omens meta post borne from a rant over the phone earlier with a friend, and hopes that my ramblings make sense.)
He started off happy, innocent, naive; thinking only the best for himself and the world, creating the stars and reveling in it. His identity was a servant of the Lord; the Starmaker. Making beautiful things, as his own Creations. Being happy, and being carefree; happy, and innocent, and so painfully naive, not knowing what the world would truly offer.
Tumblr media
And then, he was brought with the realization (through Aziraphale, a constant to each time Crowley sheds his skin) that nothing he knew about himself or his Creations was true. It was all a farce, something unreal. Something unsustainable. His happiness, his innocence, his naivete; it all came crashing down around him, just as his stars would in only six thousand years.
Tumblr media
The Starmaker was not the Starmaker. He had no identity; it was lost to him. He did not know who he was.
And so he questioned. He questioned, and for that, he was rejected. He questioned, and for that, he was tossed into the pits of Hell, simply for questioning (that we know of, of course; unreliable narrator and all that, but for the sake of the metaphor, the Starmaker questioned, and the Starmaker became Crawley, the Fallen Angel, the demon, the Serpent of Eden). He questioned, and was, literally, demonized.
Tumblr media
Crawley the demon. Was that who he was, now? It was certainly who he tried to be. He tried to fit the label of demon, evil, Hell, bad; crawl on your belly and grovel, for all the days of your life. He was no longer the Starmaker, but he could be the Serpent.
And yet through that, he met Aziraphale again. An angel, but not one who rejected him or his questions. One who was kind to him, who was understanding, at least to a degree that he himself did not fall into questioning. He was good, and he was kind, and he allowed Crawley to be himself. And so Crawley chose to be Crowley.
Tumblr media
He gave himself an identity. He gave himself a name, and he shed his skin. He took the curse of Serpent, and made it his own; he took the Starmaker, and laid claim on those stars. He formed himself.
Over six thousand years, he and Aziraphale, the only one to accept him as Crowley even before he was Crowley, grew closer and closer, to the point that Crowley was so very close to understanding their love. Even in rough patches, when they worked together to stop Armageddon (when Crowley saved his stars through saving everything else; when Crowley once again became a Creator, because they could demonize him, but they could never make him a demon if he didn't want to be a demon, nor an angel if he didn't want to be an angel, because he was simply Crowley), they were always on Their Side. The fight at the bandstand had been temporary; Aziraphale was everything to Crowley, his new stars and his new apple, and Crowley, finally having broken free permanently from the shackles of Heaven and Hell, felt that he could finally feel. Truly and irrevocably feel, in a way that is terrifyingly wonderful.
Tumblr media
And then, just when he had begun to get comfortable (just when he was finally starting to be happy again) Crowley was lurched right back to Before the Beginning, with the one he had trusted the most trying to stuff him back into the very first skin he had shed.
Tumblr media
"We can be together. Angels, doing good. / Like the old times, but only better."
Aziraphale hadn't meant what he had said. Crowley knew Aziraphale, or so he had thought, and he knew that the angel did not actually want him to go back to being the Starmaker; to being who he was, that happy-go-lucky, innocent, naive angel. He knew, or thought he knew, that Aziraphale knew that 'the old times' had never been good for him, at all, not after he began to question. He was sure that Aziraphale hadn't meant it. He was sure that Aziraphale still loved him. Not an illusion of him. He was sure that Aziraphale loved Crowley, and not the Starmaker.
...But who was he to make such claims, when Aziraphale was standing in front of him pleading for him to become that angel again?
Tumblr media
It's such a perfect trans experience allegory, because sometimes, even the closest of people will never see you for who you really are. And honestly? Sometimes, it's not even their faults. They've known you and loved you as one way for years and years and years, and it can be very difficult to let go of that other person -- that shed skin. But shed skin cannot be climbed back into and worn. It is shed for a reason; because it is gone, and dead, and buried. That can be difficult, and painful, but not as much as the one who is being forced back into it.
And it hurts, that those people don't see you for who you are, because they love you, but they don't love you.
And who are we to say that Crowley doesn't think that that's how Aziraphale views him... ?
