Who is Izumi’s Mom? Copium Edition
So we all know that Bryke have refused to confirm who Izumi’s mother is. Even when they released family trees, the conspicuously left Izumi’s mom blank.
Tumblr media
So incredibly frustrating!
So since Bryke insists on baiting us and not giving us closure, here’s a dose of copium for all shippers.
First off! Izumi’s name means “spring fountain”. Remember that.
Tumblr media
Secondly, she looks like this:
Tumblr media
REASONS WHY YOUR SHIP OF CHOICE COULD STILL MAKE SENSE!
Mai - She looks the most like Izumi. She canonically dated Zuko (until they broke up AGAIN). The former comics’ writer believes they will make up. She and Zuko have a history surrounding fountains. Even with all the drama, she remains the most likely candidate.
youtube
Katara - It should be self explanatory why a child named “fountain”, as in water, may be a reference to the one water bender Zuko dueled with most. The two of them clearly developed a connection by the end of the show, and Katara once even offered to heal Zuko’s scar. This one is all but debunked due to Kataang being canon, but it’s still nice to dream! And no one can deny they look great together.
youtube
Jin - Zuko and Jin shared lovely chemistry on their one date. Zuko was even willing to risk getting outed as a firebender in the Earth Kingdom and imprisoned, just to make her smile. This scene is also significant because it involved a fountain. Considering the bulk of Zuko’s redemption happened in the EK and the plot continued into the comics dealing with the blended FN/EK colonies, I can see why this would be a good thematic choice.
youtube
Toph - A rarer pair but one that one storyboard artist snuck in a reference for! Toph and Zuko have a lot in common. They both come from families of status that abused them for their failure to conform. Toph was born blind while Zuko has a disfiguring facial scar that realistically should affect both his vision and his hearing to an extent. Toph also has a friendship with uncle Iroh and was the first member of the Gaang to successfully understand and comfort Zuko as well as she did. Some point out that Zuko’s daughter Izumi has vision problems (like Toph) while Toph’s daughter Lin has a facial scar (like Zuko). The name Kanto, the alleged father of Lin, can also be written with the characters for “crown capital” so some speculate it’s an alias for Zuko. Spring fountain could be a reference both to the Earth element’s season of spring as well as to a volcano, which is like a fountain combining fire and earth. This scene is the most telling, with two doves representing Zuko and Toph. When Zuko walks away from Toph, the two doves kiss, signifying that perhaps a romance between them is destined for the future. Luckily, Toph knows how to listen and wait. Everything that applies to Jin about making peace with the EK applies even more to Toph since she’s actually from a noble house.
youtube
Suki - A bit of a wild card since she’s dating Sokka! But the comics showed Zuko and Suki getting much closer. When no one else was on Zuko’s side during the conflict in the colonies, and even Mai dumped him over his desperate visits to Ozai, Suki stayed by Zuko’s side. She never lost faith in him and tried her best to be there for him. The two have clearly developed a close friendship and bond of trust. Some even see it as romantic, which spells bad news for our boy Sokka. However, seeing as the book Legacy implies Sokka and Suki broke up, perhaps Zuki shippers have more evidence to stand on than originally thought! Everything that applies to Jin about making peace with the EK would also apply, since Suki is also from the EK. Perhaps she could fan the flames of his passion?
youtube
Sokka - Okay we all know it’s not going to happen but they’re really cute and I get it. The fountain claim applies to Sokka same as it does Katara! Hey there’s always a chance! Korrasami proved that!
youtube
Ty Lee - Not a lot to go off here but it’s undeniable that the two have a weird, unspoken tension. Why is Zuko quietly beefing with his sister’s bff? It’s never explained. Something is definitely going on there! We just don’t know what it is. In the comics, Zuko does lament not playing with Ty Lee and the other girls more as a kid.
youtube
Azula - I mean… okay I get it. The features that Izumi has in common with Mai, she also has in common with Zuko. So it’s not impossible to see why some would think she looks like Azula too. But can we please not make ATLA into Game of Thrones? This certainly isn’t helping:
youtube
Jet - He’s dead now so it’s not possible. But did Jet actually have a thing for Zuko? You know… it was really unclear.

you must decide. you must choose the ultimate MILF.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
propaganda/MILF context under the cut
Kya I - Very brave. Died in kind of just a brutal and violent and sad way. Invisible presence of the show. Good mom, from what we can tell. Bagged absolute stud of a husband so good for her.
Ursa - What can I say ? Soap Opera Protagonist. Forced into non-consensual marriage. Killed her father in law. Loved both of her children very much but it still wasn't enough to save them. Unfulfilled stage mom. Magic Gay Grandpa.
Hei-Ran - Refers to her daughter by her military rank. Maybe killed her cousin and others in honor duels on purpose but it's kind of wishy washy. Had a thing with past avatar, new avatar ends up dating her daughter, which has got to feel kind of weird.
Lin Beifong - One of few characters in-universe with family name privileges. Not the mommy issues giver but the mommy issues haver. A cop but hey she's really hot. No social life. Miserable.
Liling - Going to give her children incredibly intense mommy issues. Capitalist. Engaged in corporate sabotage to ensure her own dominance in factory town. On like the worst possible version of an HOA. Prejudiced against own daughter.
Buttercup Raiko - One of few characters in-universe with family name privileges. Only mistake was marrying absolute cuck of a president. Barely on screen but when she was she served I can't lie.
Suyin Beifong - One of few characters in-universe with family name privileges. Kind of weird ex-hippy turned liberal mom vibes. Didn't give any of her five children mommy issues but DID give them to the ethno-nationalist with a mecha.
Kya II - Canonically lesbian. Hippie aunt. Underutilized. Shows up to beat ass and make fun of her brothers and then leaves to go smoke weed or something. Daddy issues but like they're pretty manageable, could be way worse.
Senna - Next to her husband looks about one apple tall. Long suffering mother of Avatar. Loves her daughter very much. Not really sure how she survived living with the personalities that are Korra and Tonraq but I think it has to be weed. Cute hair.
Izumi - Maybe has 30 seconds of dialogue but nonetheless present in plenty of f/f slash. The glasses are hot. We don't really know much about her besides the fact that her dad loves her very much.
Pema - Tenzin get OFF of that woman. I know she was only pregnant for like technically one season but it may as well have been the whole show. She needs to try weed and also abandon her family for a month. Low-key devious.
Tagaka - Self-titled Pirate Queen. Waterbender but also uses cool sword she stole off a dead guy just cus. Humiliates old men in front of their adoptive children. Ok so MAYBE she raids coastlines and takes prisoners/slaves from villages she plunders but she's hot when she does it.

Buddy Daddies final character bios
The character bios on the website have been updated somewhat throughout the season, so my previous translations are slightly out of date. Now that the series is over, I figured I’d leave you with the final versions of the bios, all compiled in one place.
Tumblr media
Kurusu Kazuki
28 years old, assassin
Birthday: 16th May
Voice actor: Toyonaga Toshiyuki
Lives with his colleague and buddy Rei, and looks after his daily needs. When working with Rei, his responsibilities are mostly arranging the contract, gathering intel in advance, and setting up the plan for execution. Excellent communication skills. Fond of women and gambling. Good at cooking and cleaning, and periodically chides Rei for his sloppy lifestyle. Was married in the past, and his wife was pregnant, but she died as a result of some shady business dealings. As penance for this, he sends part of his earnings to his wife’s younger sister, but she refuses to accept it.
Tumblr media
Suwa Rei
25 years old, assassin
Birthday: 10th August
Voice actor: Uchiyama Koki
A man of few words. Usually doesn’t even bat an eye when Kazuki comes staggering home. Outstanding physical ability; at the top of the field in hand-to-hand combat and marksmanship. There is a drastic contrast between his ON (professional) and OFF (private) modes - at home, he just shuts himself in and plays games. Born into a large mob family, he received special assassin training from his father ever since his childhood. Unable to escape the conflicts in his family, he has no understanding of normal parent-child relationships.
Tumblr media
Unasaka Miri
4 years old
Birthday: 8th November
Voice actor: Kino Hina
A truly lively, innocent girl who fears nothing. Showed up at a hotel in search of her father, and got caught up in a gunfight, but was rescued by Kazuki. Her father was a prominent human trafficker and a mafia boss; he was killed by Kazuki and Rei as one of their mission targets. Her mother was the boss’s lover. Miri’s favourite food is the hamburg steak her mother makes; she has no idea that she has been abandoned. An affectionate child, she calls Kazuki “Kazuki-papa”, and Rei “Rei-papa”.
Tumblr media
Kugi Kyutaro
32 years old, cafe owner
Voice actor: Morikawa Toshiyuki
A go-between who coordinates jobs for Kazuki and Rei. Usually puts on a friendly demeanour as the owner of the cafe “Mistletoe”. Keenly perceptive, and remarkably well-informed. Knows a lot about Kazuki and Rei’s pasts, but for some reason, has never intervened, and keeps their relationship squarely within the limits of a business transaction. Generally acts like a kind older brother, but when a job goes wrong, will also readily discard all that to be completely businesslike. A reliable partner to Kazuki and Rei, but keeps them on their toes.
Tumblr media
Ogino Ryo
Age unknown, assassin
Voice actor: Madono Mitsuaki
A killing machine who has murdered many people without a trace of emotion. He’s destroyed numerous organisations with his massive physique and overwhelming strength, and travels all over in search of work. Acquainted with Kyutaro. He is connected with the incident in which Kazuki’s wife died, but Kazuki is unaware of this.
Tumblr media
Unasaka Misaki
34 years old, bar hostess and singer
Voice actor: Mori Nanako
Miri’s mother. After an affair with Miri’s father, who was a mafia boss, she had Miri as a single mother. Has bad luck with men, and leads a wild life.

Kaji Satoru
40 years old
Voice actor: Kinoshita Hiroyuki
A member of the organisation. Taught Rei how to use firearms and handle missions.

On my umpteenth rewatch of lok, I had a sudden interest in old Zuko…. And let’s just say another wip is brewing in my brain now about Zuko and his involvement in book 3 :/
Zuko looks in the mirror and sees only a face he no longer recognizes: old, long past its prime. An old wound haunting him, even how many years later. It happened so long ago; only yesterday. Shaky hands rub the rough skin as the memory takes hold. It was for the better, he once told himself long ago. It led him on the path of good, toward the light. But the thought of giving such a punishment to Izumi… He admittedly was not perfect when it came to raising her, but he was no Ozai.
Through the reflection, he sees Akari, the Firelord’s senior aide, emerge from the golden doors. “Lord Zuko,” she says with a respectful and low bow. Her voice is distant, muffled, despite being so near. Just a reminder of his aging body. “The Firelord will see you now.”
He nods, acknowledging her, but his focus remains on the stranger–no, the old man–staring back at him, copying every move he makes. Akari backs away to give him space. And he touches a few wrinkles. Uncle always said they were a sign of living, far better than the alternative. His laughter still echoes in his mind; the steam of hot tea still lingers around him.
He moves away from his reflection and into the throne room where his daughter sits high above him in all her glory. Zuko smiles as he bows–and his old bones crack as he bends. Another reminder that the old man in the mirror and the boy who thought his destiny was to capture the Avatar were one in the same. “The Firelord has requested an audience with me. I would be interested in knowing what for.”
“Hello Dad,” greets Izumi gently as she stands. She approaches him, a familiar look of care mixed with concern permanently captures her face each time she looks at him. He knows it well. Old age brings on pity. No, Uncle would say, old age brings on care. They hug and, suddenly, he is drunk with the scent of familiarity. Once Mai’s favorite perfume worn now by a grieving daughter who wants only to keep her mother close. “How are you?”
“I am fine, daughter,” he assures, his hand squeezing her shoulder as if to emphasize the fact. Sadness lingers around them with Mai’s passing just over a year ago. “Though, perhaps it is I who should be asking you that very question. Avatar Korra has led us into a new age where spirits and mankind must now live together in harmony. As the Firelord, it is your duty to make her decision a reality. With some guidance from me, of course, if it doesn’t interfere with my nap time.”
She rolls her eyes as a smile forms. “I think sometimes I can make better sense of your snoring than your political babble,” she teases.
“Be careful what you say next, daughter,” he shoots back. “I still have claim to the throne, you know.”
“Like I’d give it back,” she tells him playfully. But her face turns serious. And like a stuck bandage, the news of why she has summoned him is ripped open quickly to ease the anticipation: “I’ve just received word from President Raiko in Republic City. It seems… Harmonic Convergence has brought back the Airbenders.”
His heart feels as if it has sunk. The Fire Nation’s greatest burden, their deepest regret—now, so suddenly, fixed? He would have to see it to believe it, especially if Raiko is the one reporting it. All the man cares about is the votes. “What?”
“I haven’t yet received word from Tenzin, but there has been at least one Airbender sighting in Caldera alone. Most, it seems, are in the Earth Kingdom.”
“That could mean trouble.”
The Earth Queen remains bitter over land now the United Republic of Nations and everything surrounding it, Air Temple Island included: Earth Kingdom territory, she makes false claims. While her father was timid, mostly oblivious as a leader, Hou-Ting is loud, demanding, and a complete tyrant.
Zuko turns, hurrying out the room. There is no time to waste. “I’ll head straight to Ba Sing Se—”
His daughter is quick to stop him. “The Fire Nation should not have any involvement there, dad. You know this.” His intent would be to liberate this new wave of Airbenders from the grasps of great tyrannical power, but the world might view it as another Firelord’s attempt to again dismantle the Air Nation. He blinks, seeing clearly now as his daughter faces him again. “Furthermore,” Izumi continues cautiously; they’re always dancing around his state of retirement. The nation is hers–it is her birthright–but he makes diplomatic trips around the world to assure peace, to continue what he and Avatar Aang started so long ago, yesterday. “A man your age should really be fretting over pai sho and gardening. Not the state of the world.”
The man she is describing is Uncle. Not him, never him. “I will not turn my back on the world when it still needs me,” Zuko insists. His reflection shows an achy old man with a story long ago completed, but as long as his heart still beats and the fire still burns, he can be useful.
“I know,” she says, “but… you can only do so much before it becomes too overwhelming for you.” She adjusts her glasses as a sigh escapes her. “Dad, I care only for your safety–”
“I am still capable–”
“–which is why I think it perfectly sensible for you to take in a ward.”
He stops, hurt–offended. “A-a ward?”
“One of Master Muromachi’s young pupils,” she continues. “Someone who can be your companion. Someone who will watch your back and defend you when you’re unable.”
Zuko huffs, rubbing his forehead in frustration. His daughter thinks him unable, an invalid of his craft now just because of a few wrinkles. Spirits! He is Lord Zuko, Leader of the Fire Nation and the Avatar’s Firebending Master. And she thinks he needs a sidekick? Some noble boy defending his honor? “No, absolutely not. I don’t need some child protecting me.”
Izumi rolls her eyes. “This isn’t a suggestion, dad. Master Muromachi is expecting you. We’ll go down there this afternoon.”
He stomps away stubbornly, like a child not getting his way. The roles were reversed long ago, just yesterday when he was still in charge, when he was still capable. “I can choose my own ward, can’t I?”
“Of course–”
“Then I’ll go on my own, if it pleases the Firelord.”
He exits before she can answer. Anger boils within him. He hates being the man who is old, the man who needs help. Most of his friends are gone now and this new generation is perfectly competent, his daughter being one of them, but the fire still burns inside him. The face in the mirror is the face he saw long ago–yesterday–when there was no scar.
The Fire Nation Academy for Gifted Boys is a secondary school for sons of nobles. It teaches Nonbenders how to fight through the art of swordsmanship. Only the best, or most wealthy, can attend. And the training is rigorous, not for the faint hearted. Tom-Tom became one of the academy’s pupils when he came of age, mastering sword fighting at the age of fourteen. Firelord Ozai always dismissed the school’s teachings, saying Nonbenders could never truly be masters without the ability of bending. In his final years, without his bending, his father learned the way of the sword, though he never tried to understand the relationship between a man and his blade, thus never becoming a full master of the craft.
These days the school is just as rigorous with Master Muromachi, a stern and, dare he say, cruel man, in charge of this new generation of fighters. The boys stand straight in a line when Lord Zuko arrives. Eyes forward, not one hair out of place, not a single crease in their suits. Their movements are in sync as they all bow low when Muromachi introduces him to them.
“You have honored this school with your presence, Lord Zuko,” Muromachi says with a bow of his own. He moves aside for Zuko to properly examine his students. “Please, choose anyone you think is worthy.” He gestures to the tallest of the group: tan skinned and golden eyed, Zuko sees a darkness in him that brings only suspicion. The way the boy eyes him; it’s not like the others. “Eigo here is our star pupil.”
“Is that so?”
Muromachi gestures again and Eigo assumes a fighting stance as he draws his sword. He dances with it around Zuko–impressive but, still, there is something about him that he doesn’t quite like–before returning to his spot in line.
“Very good,” Zuko tells him, “though I find your lack of moderation rather… unsettling.”
The boy’s expression darkens at the criticism. Not suitable for his company at all. Muromachi moves on without a visible reaction: “Pao,” he calls. And the next boy moves skillfully around the room with his blades. A mindless routine, practiced over and over again until perfection. He does what he is told and nothing more.
“Your moves, though highly skillful, lack originality,” Zuko notes. He will find something wrong for each of them. He does not need a protector, nor does he want one.
Muromachi becomes more tense as they move down the line, each boy weaker than the last. This Academy is a show and these so-called warriors are nothing more than performers this day in age, not like how they used to be, he will tell his daughter later over tea. That is why he did not choose a child today. That is why he should not have a ward.
Finally, they arrive at the last: the smallest of the group. A softness exists within him that the other boys do not have. Short hair above his ears cut in a wonky bowl shape and fierce blue eyes with a sparkle in them that shows he is ready, not to win but to fight for what is right—he knows those eyes. It hits him, suddenly. A girl, disguised as a young boy.
“Lee!” orders Muromachi, sweating profusely at this point. Zuko instantly understands the name is false, an alias to hide her true nature.
And the girl disguised as a boy begins her dance around Zuko. Her movements are hesitant. She nearly trips over her own two feet. Her two swords do not move together as one but rather as completely separate entities. An amateur compared to her peers. Muromachi is visibly appalled by her performance, but remains silent out of respect for his guest. Zuko, admittedly, is intrigued by the girl. Why would she openly go through such turmoil?

AU Bot Plots: All the Single Parents
Tumblr media
It was a terrible idea. Zuko asked himself for the thousandth time that evening how he had allowed Haru to talk him into it, but still, he checked to make sure his blazer was on straight and his hair (shoulder length now that he didn't have Mai pushing him to keep it cut) was pulled back neatly into a low ponytail. He'd just spritzed on his cologne when there was a timid knock at his door. He saw it crack open, and Izumi, his precocious seven year old, poke her head through the door.
"You look nice, Daddy!" she said. "But why are you so dressed up to go fishing?" Zuko turned to face his daughter, his brows drawn down in confusion.
"Fishing?" he repeated. "Who told you I was going fishing?"
"Uncle," Izumi said. She clambered onto Zuko's bed and sat crosslegged on the foot. She had a serious look on her face that was much too old for her chubby-cheeked face. "He said that he has been telling you to get back out there for years and that there are lots of fish in the sea."
"Is that so?" Zuko asked, scooping his daughter up into his arms and kissing her cheek. "Well, I'm not going fishing. Uncle was just being silly. And he shouldn't discuss things like that with you."
"He didn't say it to me," Izumi said. "I heard him talking on the phone with Uncle Haru."
"Izzie," Zuko chided gently. "What have I told you about listening on other people's conversations?"
"Not to," Izumi replied, sullenly. "But Uncle talks so loud!" That got a chuckle from Zuko.
"Be nice," he told her. "Uncle's hearing isn't what it used to be. He doesn't always realize when he's being loud."
"My hearing is just fine, Nephew." Iroh rounded the corner from the living room and stared sternly up the stairs at Zuko and Izumi. Zuko and Izumi grinned at each other, then Zuko turned back to Iroh with an apologetic smile.
"Sorry, Uncle," he said. He set Izumi down and let her run down the stairs into Iroh's waiting arms.
"You're forgiven." Iroh cast a magnanimous gaze up at his nephew. "You should get going. You wouldn't want to be late."
"Wouldn't I?" Zuko groaned. He vowed never to speak with Haru alone ever again. His friend was deceptively convincing.
After saying goodbye to Izumi and Iroh, Zuko made the drive to the cafe bar in midtown where the city's most desperate divorcees were gathering to find their next failed relationship. It was just for practice, Zuko told his reflection in the rearview. It had been three years since his acrimonious divorce, and now that his daughter was in elementary school, Iroh and Haru had convinced him that it was time to get back on the dating scene. It had seemed like a good idea at the time. Zuko wasn't exactly dying of loneliness, but he felt the absence of someone to hold and kiss acutely sometimes. And he saw how Izumi looked longingly at mothers with their children occasionally. Mai was a rare presence in Izumi's life. Even rarer since she started dating and eventually gotten engaged to Kei Lo, the man she'd insisted she wasn't having an affair with during the last days of their brief, tumultuous marriage.
Zuko had tried dating over the years, but he'd never met anyone who lasted more than a few months at most. And it had been over a year since his last attempt. This time would be different. He was 34, in therapy, and doing pretty well for himself. Despite the large scar covering a fourth of his face, he knew he was generally considered pretty handsome. He was ready for this. He was open to it. He was...regretting his decision to leave his house.
The crowd in the cafe bar was...grim. First of all, it was mostly men, and even if Zuko had been interested in men, they all looked tired and miserable. He seemed to be among the few who'd made any sort of effort with his appearance. The few women present were a good ten years older than he was, at least. The best looking among them was around 50, if Zuko had to guess. She spotted him and eyed him with interest. She really was very attractive, with a challenging smirk and a dangerous gleam in her eyes. She showed off her voluptuous figure in a curve hugging red cashmere sweater and pencil skirt. Her name tag introduced her as Jun. He wasn't sure if he was ready to take a chance on such a large age gap, but he figured a flirty conversation over couple of glasses of wine would make this evening not a total waste of time, anyway.
He was still contemplating going over to start a conversation, when the door to the bar opened again, and caused the bell drilled into the back to ring. All thoughts of wine with the woman in the red sweater left Zuko's mind, when he saw the newcomer. She was around his age- maybe slightly younger- in a blue dress with grey sneakers. She stopped at the welcome table and filled out a name tag, like the other attendees of the single parents' meet up, and stuck it onto the outside of her white cardigan. Zuko was close enough to read her name. Katara.
Katara seemed to be as reluctant as he was to be there, but she took a breath put on a smile, and stepped into the crowd of suddenly eager looking men. Then Zuko hung back for the next ten minutes, watching as she fended off advances from the men brave enough to approach her. Zuko couldn't blame her, even though this was the point of the evening. The men who approached her were the pushiest, leeriest and in many cases, oldest of the group.
Someone came up beside Zuko and cleared their throat. He found Jun at his side, smirking at him over a glass of whiskey on the rocks. Zuko thought she'd decided to approach him after all, but instead she nodded in Katara's direction.
"You'd have a good shot," she told Zuko. "Why don't you go introduce yourself?"
"Oh...I...I...um," he stammered. That was humiliating. When was the last time he'd gotten tongue tied?
"Articulate," Jun purred, her smirk widening. "Listen, this is a pick up scene for people not looking for someone to introduce to their kids. You and she are clearly still unjaded enough to be looking for romance, so why don't you save you both the time, and rescue her from that guy who's old enough to be her father?" Zuko looked over to where Katara was being chatted up by a wiry man who was still clinging to his receding hairline for his life. She had a wry smirk on her face and seemed to be handling herself just fine. She caught Zuko's eye over the man's shoulder and raised her eyebrow ironically, as if sharing a joke with Zuko. His mouth went dry, and he felt the back of his neck heat up. He turned back to Jun.
"And what if I told you I was hoping to get to talk with you tonight?" he asked. Jun's dark eyes sparkled with mirth and her mouth slid into a slow, sultry smile.
"Oh, honey," she chuckled, brushing his cheek with her knuckles. "You couldn't handle me. And you've been staring at her since she came in. Man up, and go say hi." She passed Zuko the rest of her drink, which he drained in one gulp before he squared his shoulders and made his way across the room to Katara and her suitor.
"Excuse me," Zuko interrupted. "I just wanted to...to come introduce myself." The man who'd been talking to Katara turned to Zuko with a scowl.
"We're in the middle of a conversation," the man snarled. Katara rolled her eyes at him.
"Actually," she said. "I think we're good. Thanks so much for the information, but I'm not that interested in stocks. It was nice meeting you, though, Niko." Katara pushed off of the wall she'd been leaning against and walked off, with Zuko not far behind.
"Are these things always this boring?" Katara asked.
"I wouldn't know," Zuko told her. "My friend talked me into this."
"My sister-in-law threatened to stop fixing my car if I didn't come," Katara sighed. She looked around at the crowd appraisingly. "Maybe I should have just taken my chances. The bus isn't so bad."
"I don't know," Zuko said with a shrug. "I think the night just got interesting." Katara smirked up at Zuko, and his breath caught in his throat at the way her bright blue eyes caught the light.
"I saw that cougar you were chatting up," she said. "I'll bet tonight has been very interesting for you." Zuko's face went beet red, he could tell without a mirror.
"That wasn't...what that was," he tried to explain.
"Really?" Katara shrugged. "Gee, that's too bad. She's pretty hot. But... maybe her loss, my gain?" Katara smiled coyly at Zuko. Agni, was she flirting with him? Zuko cleared his throat.
"We could grab a couple of drinks and see how it goes," Zuko suggested. Katara's smile widened.
"Sounds good to me."

Alright, I suppose I'll get this over with since I spent some time thinking about it.
Zuko and Mai
Tumblr media
Just look at them.
Honestly, their relationship isn't bad, it's just lacking something.
Oh right...
Communication!
They don't talk to each other. I don't mean striking up a conversation... I mean talking about their feelings to each other. Well, at least on Mai's end. We know Zuko shows his emotions very well because of his frustration. Mai is quiet, aloof, and isn't very good at showing how she feels.
She doesn't even vocalize her feelings. Now, that's fine since 74% of our communication is body language, while the rest is verbal and sensory (I bet you didn't even know that), however I think she struggles with that as well.
Zuko is very good at showing he cares by being attentive (guys, learn from Zuko) he is boyfriend/husband material (I don't want to hear about the colonizer bullshit, it's irrelevant, get an education). He may have made some horrible choices in the past, but he is a good person. So, why do he and Mai keep breaking up and getting back together?
Choices!
I've said it before and I'll say it again...
A bad relationship is set by the choices made individually.
So, you know the whole "I don't keep secrets from my partner" thing? This is it. This is why relationships fail. It's hand in hand with communication, and it's the path to breakups/divorce.
In the graphic novel (I have to go back and look, but I think it's right at the end of The Promise? Correct me if I'm wrong) the reason they broke up is because Zuko made some choices that kinda... well it wasn't great and almost led to a war with the Earth Kingdom. But it really put him in a negative light even though he turned out to be in the end. Mai saw this as Zuko becoming his father, and well, she waited to confront him about it.
Zuko made some decisions on his own and didn't really tell her about it, leading to some misunderstandings. Actually, he did this before in Book Three when he left to join the Gaang. He doesn't sit and talk to Mai about it. He just does it. This is where things go wrong. He may have thought he was doing right by her, but in the end, it was the execution that was bad.
Do I think they will get back together?
Eh... it's debatable. The creators have full control of what the characters do at this point. If they were to get back together, they would definitely have to fix the problems I mentioned above. Maybe that will happen from experience.
What do I like about this relationship?
They obviously care about each other, and I do think they look good together. I'm not a huge fan of it because I see the problems in the relationship. It's not a bad relationship, it's problematic at the worst. At best, they make a cute couple. I'm not sure if Mai is Izumi's mother, but again, we are at the mercy of the creators.
Tumblr media
Oh that's it. That's the problems.
So how do you fix these problems?
Well, there is therapy, but there is also just talking to your partner. Talking about the things that make you uncomfortable and what makes you upset about your relationship is going to clear the air. Now, if your partner is not a great communicator, that is where a therapist can help, and I highly recommend that.
What makes a relationship toxic comes down to narcissism and other violent traits. There is bad relationships, and then there is downright toxic and hellish.
NONE of the relationships in the show are toxic except for Ozai's relationship with his wife, children, and everyone else he has a relationship with. He is an egotistical sociopathic narcissist... that is a walking nuclear waste pit right there. Run away. Run away immediately.
Anyway, this is what I think...
Oh, and Zuko is the very opposite of his father, so don't even go there.
Hope you enjoy my little relationship analysis.

A3! Troupe Event: MY WORST WEDDING | Event Story Translation (9/11)
Tumblr media
Neither Japanese nor English is my first language so please forgive me if I made mistake. However, feel free to point me out, I’d love to hear your feedbacks on the translation ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶
Translation under the cut
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
Taichi: And then–– Here comes the bride!
Sakyo’s stepfather: ––
Sakyo’s mother: …How do I look?
Sakyo’s stepfather: Eh, ah, uhm, you look beautiful.
Tumblr media
Miyako: Dad, you look like you’re floating on air seeing step-mother in a dress. Just like a highschool student who had a girlfriend for the first time.
Sakyo: Well, you’d be surprised if mother changes like this.
Banri: The bride and the groom, you two please come here––.
Sakyo’s mother: We even have the officiant?
Banri: I’m in charge of the officiant role.
Miyako: This is just a wedding photoshoot, but I want to take photos like we’re in a real wedding, so I asked if we could have the officiant.
Sakyo’s mother: Well…
Banri: Do you, Yuuichi-san, pledge to protect and tenderly care for Akemi-san in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, for richer for poorer, for better for worse? (*)
Do you promise to encourage her, to honor and cherish her, and forsaking all others, be faithful to her as long as you both shall live?
Sakyo’s stepfather: …I do.
Banri: Do you, Akemi-san, pledge to protect and tenderly care for Yuuichi-san in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, for richer for poorer, for better for worse?
Do you promise to encourage him, to honor and cherish him, and forsaking all others, be faithful to him as long as you both shall live?
Sakyo’s mother: I do.
Banri: Then, you may hug each other now––.
Miyako: Step-mother, congratulations!
Taichi: Congrats–!
Izumi: Congratulations!
Sakoda: Congrats to you–!
Miyaki: This is not a flower shower… But a paper crane shower!? (**)
Tumblr media
Sakyo: That’s a tradition in Ginsenkai.
Sakoda: I folded and prepared all of them last night!
Sakyo’s mother: Oh my, it must have been tough. Thank you.
Sakoda: They’re all for the sake of Aniki’s mom, who gave birth to him, so it’s not a big deal!
Omi: The bride and the groom, can you two look here?
It’s perfect.
Then everyone, can you all line up here? The bride and the groom in the center–– That’s it.
Izumi: As expected, you’re used to these things right.
Taichi: That’s a pro for you!
Juza: It might be better for the relatives to line up at the front.
Omi: You’re right.
Azami: Then, I’m tall so I’ll stand at the back––.
Sakyo’s mother: Azami-kun will also stand here. We’ll line up together at the front.
Azami: Eh?
Omi: Then I’ll take the picture.
Tumblr media
Sakyo’s stepfather: Somehow, it really feels like a wedding ceremony.
Sakyo’s mother: Fufu. You’re right.
Sakyo: …
*Short timeskip*
Sakyo’s mother: Azami-kun, thank you so much for today.
I’m a little reluctant at first, but I was having the happiest time. I’m sorry for having troubled you.
Azami: No, it’s not a big deal–– I’m glad you have fun.
Sakyo’s mother: Sakyo too, thank you for the filial piety.
Sakyo: I didn’t do anything. I only paid for the celebration. If you’d say thanks, then come to Miyako––.
Sakyo’s mother: You also cared about the materials of the dress and other things, didn’t you?
Tumblr media
Sakyo: Did you spill that to her?
Azami: I just went with the flow.
Sakyo’s mother: …Actually, before your father passed away, he told me this in the patient room.
“I’m sorry that I couldn’t afford you a wedding dress to wear at our wedding ceremony. I hope you will be able to wear a wonderful dress in the future.”, he said.
At that time, I was quite angry with him because he brought up the topic of remarriage before he passed away, I didn’t want him to say something ominous––.
But then Sakyo said “I’ll wear it”. And it made me laugh.
Sakyo: …I have no memory of that.
Sakyo’s mother: Right. You were still small back then.
However, thank you for making my wish come true.
Sakyo: …Aah.
Sakyo’s mother: That’s right, since I’ve had myself dress up like this, I need to take a two shot with Hyodo-kun!
Tumblr media
Sakyo’s stepfather: Eh!?
Sakyo’s mother: ?
Sakyo’s stepfather: W-Well, I also want to take it with you…
Sakyo’s mother: You too? It’s okay but…
Azami: …You’re loved, ma’am.
Sakyo: Aah. Step-father met my mother because of work, and it seems like he fell in love with her at first sight.
Even so, he seemed to be hesitant because it’s gonna be a second marriage, but then Miyako noticed it and encouraged him to take a step forward.
He was so excited that looked like he had butterflies in his stomach everyday, so it was obvious at a glance.
Azami: Butterflies in his stomach, huh…
*At the stage wing*
Manager: 10 minutes left before the performance starts~.
Taichi: How should I put it, after attending such a touching wedding, how can I perform a marriage fraud theme play…
Juza: It can’t be helped now.
Banri: What’s more, you’re even the one who deceives the groom.
Taichi: Ugh, ugh, I can’t believe I’ll ruin such a sacred wedding like this~… I’ll try my best~!
Tumblr media
Omi: You’re gonna do your best huh.
Taichi: This time is a dual role so I have to get myself fired up!
Sakyo: Well, I think I need to act to look like I’m completely deceived then.
Azami: And it’s gonna be a revenge then.
Taichi: Uugh, such a brutal combination…!
Izumi: Both of you got blonde hair and you two looked like buddies.
Banri: You said you didn’t want to match with Sakyo-san, but you ended up getting your hair blonde.
Azami: Not really. I just prioritize to match with the world view and character setting
Juza: It indeed suits Ethan’s image.
Taichi: You two somehow look like parents and child too.
Banri: Sakyo-san looks old so they’re more parents-and-child-like.
Omi: This time it’s the special hair and makeup that makes him look more dignified.
Sakyo: At least just say we look like brothers.
Tumblr media
Izumi: Azami-kun, how do you feel before your long-awaited leading performance? Do you feel nervous?
Azami: Not at all. I’m all set and all I need to do now is to act my best.
Banri: No matter how much time passes, he’s our real cocky rookie.
Juza: Ethan’s expression of love for his fiancée is gettin’ better and better, so you don’t need to worry ‘bout anything.
Azami: Perhaps it’s the impact of attending an actual wedding.
Taichi: But in the end, you’ll be betrayed by me!
Sakyo: Well then, it’s time to form the huddle. Leading man, say something.
Azami: …This time performance is packed with lots of action scenes with guns, so you’re gonna have to go all out from the first day. However, you’re not allowed to sleep without skincare after going back to the dorm.
Do as the slogan “Sleeping・Moisturizing・Skincare Lifestyle” during the run of performance…! Do y’all understand!?
Tumblr media
Juza: Oh, understood…
Taichi: I don’t feel like doing it…!
Sakyo: The lead this time is completely a skincare demon no matter what.
Translator's note:
(*) Sakyo’s stepfather’s name is written as 祐一, and for Sakyo’s mother’s name is 明美. These two have various ways of reading so I just picked the most common one. I’ll have them edited when we have the official release.

I am SO MAD that Izumi is considered Ed and Al's motherly figure. She's so mean to them: she speaks to them very harshly (this may be different in other dubs, but in french she uses a very angry tone when she speaks to them, when they're younger or even when they're having lunch in Dublith and she says to Ed "Eat!" with a very pissed off voice), she punishes them by violently hitting them (and we're not talking slapstick humor), she scares the hell out of them... She's very, very abusive.
And what also struck me in episode 27 is that she speaks very gently to the other kids, like she's very calm with the boy who broke his toy train and rudely says that her mending looks weak, she patiently berates him, and when Ed asks a question that, yes, is a very touchy subject for her and she knows she must prevent Ed from even considering the idea of human transmutation, she just punches him. I know this was during a training session but what was the point?
And don't get me started on the scene where she beats them up after they tell her they tried to bring their mom back to life. I can understand a slap out of anger or fear, Maria did this to Ed but she apologized right after, here we have none of that, she just beats them up and never apologizes, in a scene that is in no way meant to be funny. She beats them up after they finally decided to tell her what happened to them (and to me, the fact that they were literally too scared to tell their "motherly figure" what they had done, to seek help, advice, or just have her presence, tells a lot), Ed gets ready to get punched again but she hugs them and they lean into the touch because it seems like it's one of the very rare occasions when she actually shows affection towards them.
That, to me, is typical of abusive relationships. You get all the negative things, the beating, the yelling, the contempt, but then there are the good moments, like her stroking Ed's hair after putting a bandaid on his nose, or the hug of "comfort" after they tell her of their trauma, so you're ready to forgive the rest. And of course they're gonna accept that hug they desperately needed from her, she IS indeed the closest they had to a mother after Trisha's death.
I also remember that later, during a fight with the chimeras, she says, "I can't let any of my children die again" when she fights to protect Ed and Al, to show us that she loves them as her own children.
But if you love your child, you don't hit them. Plain and simple. I don't care if you stroke their hair or hug them afterward.
I really don't like how she's portrayed.

THE TRAGEDY OF THE FUJIHARA
BRANCH FAMILY
Tumblr media
The Single Shot Snake
ㅤFujihara Ayame is the great granddaughter of Yukiko; her father, Asahi, son of Fuyu, took up the passion that her great grandmother had for the sea. Unlike her older brothers, she held a wild passion for the sea. While Daisuke took control of the Sapphire Serpent and Kotetsu took the throne of Janoshima, Ayame was relatively left to her own devices. Thus, she began to teach herself how to survive- how to shoot a flintlock, how to create her own bullets, and how to create gunpowder. By the age of sixteen, Ayame had become a gifted sharpshooter, and left Janoshima to explore.
ㅤShe ran into Gol D. Roger at Loguetown, where- after mentioning that she was looking for a crew to join and offer her skills to- he offered her the position to be his Gunner, despite Rayleigh’s initial disapproval. She gained the moniker of the Single Shot Snake due to her odd ability to only need one shot to take out her enemy almost every time.
ㅤHere, she met her future husband, Yusuke, who was acting as a carpenter for the crew. It took a little over two years for the two to fall for one another, but once they fell- they both fell hard. Within the year, Ayame not only marries Yusuke ( officiated by Roger himself ), but became pregnant with her first child. She refused to back down, however; she remained active on the ship and within fights.
The First Born
ㅤTheir first child was a girl, Mai, born seven months after Kiyomi and Kiyoko. She was born shortly after midnight; the labor was easy, surprisingly so for a first child. The next morning, Mai is brought out on deck by Yusuke and Ayame. Shanks loudly declares himself her older brother. Rayleigh asks if this makes him a grandfather, to which Ayame replies that yes- he and Roger are both grandparents now, purely joking- though Roger seems positively delighted with the concept. Buggy asks why Mai looks all squished.
The Son
ㅤAyame and Yusuke have their second son, much to the enjoyment of the crew. Jun’Ichi was born, weighing 8 lbs, and came into the world yelling. He was born while they were in the Grand Line, shortly after Roger discovered his illness. Mai is four years old when he is born.
ㅤTwo years after his birth, the Roger Pirates and the Whitebeard Pirates enter into a battle that lasts three days before it ends with a peace treaty between the two crews. During the battle, Mai and Jun;Ichi were held below deck, where they would have been safe.
The Twins
ㅤAyame and Yusuke then have a pair of twins a year after the battle ended, a girl named Itsuki and a boy named Izumi, the final children born while they were actively part of the Roger Pirates. Together, the Roger Pirates continue their travels, until Roger makes the difficult decision to request that they port in Janoshima. For the first time in fourteen years, the Fujihara siblings are together. At this time, Mai is eight years old, Jun’Ichi is four, and the twins are two.
ㅤShortly before they ported, Daisuke and Daiyu had also made port. They celebrated with the Roger pirates for two days before the Roger pirates left- leaving Ayame, Yusuke, and their two children behind. It was a bitter parting; Ayame cried openly while Roger held her close, promising to see her again. Rayleigh teased her about being too soft, now.
“Is that any way for the Single Shot Snake to be acting? We’ll see each other once more. You aren’t done sailing. You’re just taking a break. You’ll both be back on these waters, soon- maybe even with your own ship and crew. Wouldn’t that be something? I think I could be proud if I got to see that, one day.” -Silvers Rayleigh’s parting words to Ayame and Yusuke.
“You listen to me, Yus. Take care of her, alright? She’s the mother of your kids, now, and she’ll kill you if you ever try to act up. I’ve known her longer than you. She’s like my kid. And you- stay out of trouble. I’ll see you soon, out on the Blue again.” -Gol D. Roger’s parting words to Ayame and Yusuke.
ㅤFor the next eleven months, the family is whole once more- giving Daiyū time to rest, to gather herself. Ayame acted as the mother figure for the children during this time- with Yusuke acting as a father figure. She didn’t mind; she could see that the stress of motherhood was affecting Daiyu in a clearly negative manner. There were several conversations during this time period, including whether or not the children should simply remain in Janoshima for their own safety. Daisuke would hear nothing of it.
ㅤAnd then, one evening, a conversation occurs between Ayame and Daiyu. Their husbands had both been on the porch while the women remained inside; Ayame watched as Mizuki attempted to play with Itsuki and Izumi. The conversation went as follows:
ㅤ“I’m almost jealous of you, you know.” Ayame murmured in a purely playful tone, sipping her tea as Daiyu froze.
ㅤ“Of course you would be,” Daiyu sniffed, turning her nose up. “Look at you- wasting away on this island. Tell me,” the woman turned, watching as Itsuki and Izumi colored. “Are they truly his children?”
ㅤ“I beg your pardon?”
ㅤ“Oh, come off it. I saw the way you looked at Roger,” she sneered, setting her cup down. “And Rayleigh, at that. How many times did you whore yourself out to them?”
ㅤIt happened quickly; one moment, Ayame was sitting in stunned silence at the way her sister in law had spoken, and the next, her gun was drawn, the muzzle of her flintlock pressed between her brows. “Get off of my island.”
“Daisuke!”
“YUSUKE!”
ㅤDaisuke and Yusuke both entered to find the women. Daisuke, Daiyu, and his children left the very next morning before dawn.
ㅤAfter a month, Kotetsu passed away due to complications from his illness. Ayame ascended to the throne and promptly became the Empress of Janoshima. She did not hear from her other brother, nor did he send any reparations for their brother’s passing.
ㅤShe didn't know that, in four and a half years, she would be witnessing the execution of her Captain.
Child, not of Mine Own
ㅤFujihara Mizuki was kidnapped by three men who mutinied against Daisuke. When word had come to them across the Denden, Ayame hadn’t believed it at first. Five years with no word from her brother, only to be alerted that his daughter had been kidnapped.
ㅤThey returned to Janoshima once more a month after Suma was born, after being invited back by Ayame and Yusuke. It was a tense initial meeting; Daisuke attempted to insinuate that he should be the one on the throne before Ayame reminded him that the throne was in Janoshima, not upon his ship.
ㅤShe was a frail baby, underweight and shrieking at all hours. Daiyū, at her wits end, attempted to kill her own daughter before Yusuke and Ayame intervened, stopping her. Ayame took Suma in as her own, afterwards. Daisuke argued at first before Ayame threatened to simply keep all of his children if he could not care for them and his crazed wife.
ㅤHe relented.
The Birth of the Golden Age
ㅤTwo months later, the family traveled to Loguetown to witness the execution of Gol D. Roger and the birth of the Golden Age of Piracy. As the reigning Empress, Ayame had been invited to witness this death. She watched from afar without her children; she refused to bring them out of fear for their safety- and that her two eldest didn’t need to see the man they’d come to fondly speak of be killed. She watched with her brother’s family, and left immediately after to avoid being caught in the chaos his words caused.
ㅤUpon returning, Ayame settled easily into her role as Empress; Kotetsu had taught her everything she would need to know to take over. Yusuke would take over teaching Mai and Jun’Ichi skills they would need to survive.
ㅤAt age twelve, Mai would begin joining Yusuke on excursions to the islands that curved around the main island of Janoshima. Due to how large the island chain was, it would take two hours to sail from the port at the head of the island to one of the outer islands. During these excursions, Yusuke would teach Mai how to navigate by using the position of the sun, how to handle a small vessel when it was only one person aboard, and how to dock offshore. Jun’Ichi, age eight, begins to join them.
Additional Child
ㅤThe next year, Suma would celebrate her first birthday. There would be no word sent from Daiyu or Daisuke; Suma was treated as a princess, and seen as the daughter of Ayame and Yusuke. The celebration lasted for two days and two nights. She had survived her first year.
ㅤMai, thirteen, has become adept at being a marskwoman. She speaks about wanting to go out on her own, one day. She has her tongue surgically split. The process is much more pleasant than what Kiyomi and Kiyoko go through, and is celebrated. The healing process, while difficult, was well worth it in her opinion.
ㅤJun’Ichi celebrates his eighth birthday by concussing himself via falling face first into the steps leading down from the main house. The alarm is loud, and while he enjoys the forehead scar he gets from this, Ayame is certain she had a heart attack. Suma takes her first running steps at the same time, running out onto the porch and trying to run down the stairs before Mai caught her. Suma begins calling Mai “Mi-mi”.
ㅤShe refers to Ayame and Yusuke as Mama and Baba. She does not know Daisuke or Daiyu, something that Ayame will always be grateful for. Suma is simply another one of her children.
ㅤThe next year, Janoshima is rocked by a powerful hurricane typhoon that rips through the island chain, stripping the outlying islands of their trees. The reconstruction will take over a year to fix the cities and smaller villages. Ayame would leave the throne to help the citizens to the best of her ability, helping to repair the docks and houses. She is heralded as the saving grace of Janoshima due to her aid.
ㅤLuckily, they lost no lives. Unluckily, the typhoon struck on the twins’ seventh birthdays.
The Final Child
ㅤAyame and Yusuke announce their pregnancy with their last child, who would come to be named Kai.
ㅤIn March of that year, Mai has her first accidental run-in with the Whitebeard Pirates. She meets the man himself, who had come to Janoshima to speak with Ayame. He offered to protect the island. The conversation goes as follows:
ㅤ“You know how large my fleet is, now, and how it continues to grow.”
ㅤ“I’m aware. But you are aware you’re speaking to an Empress, no?”
ㅤ“I am.”
ㅤ“Then get off my island. I can protect it well enough by myself- something you are well aware of. How’s that old scar treating you?”
ㅤ“Feels just like a snake’s biting my arm right now!”
ㅤMai confides in her father that she wants to join Whitebeard, who overhears. He tells her that he doesn’t normally allow women on his crew- but for her? If she can prove to him in three years that she’s anything like her mother was, she’ll get a spot. But not before then. Mai, delighted, yells from the edge of the dock as he departs that she’ll train to join him, she promises!
ㅤIn November, Kai is born. Healthy, and happy. The island celebrates for five days straight with festivals, fireworks, and feasts. Ayame is happy, content. She and Yusuke have a big, happy family. What more could they ask for?
Tearful Departing
ㅤDaisuke and Daiyu would return when Suma was seven. This would be the first time she met her parents, whom she did not like, as well as her older siblings. She took to Junpei and Mizuki quickly, but confided in Mai that Kiyomi and Kiyoko scared her. They were mean, and they stared.
ㅤThis resulted in Mai punching Kiyomi when she asked why Kai was so ugly. Kiyomi, in retaliation, drew her blade, but had a warning shot fired by Mai that nearly clipped her foot. Mai reminded Kiyomi that this is not her island, this is not her home, and she would be respectful to the prince- and to Suma.
ㅤSuma had spent her life with her family, the ones she was truly close to, but Daisuke and Daiyu refused to allow her to remain. She is brought onto the Sapphire Serpent by her parents. She learns she is leaving with them, which causes her to completely melt down, crying and asking why she can’t stay with Ayame and Yusuke. Daisuke replies that she cannot stay because she is not their child. Suma attempts to jump off the ship; Milorad catches her, though Daisuke and Daiyu made no move to help. It is a tearful goodbye on all parts, with Mai and Jun’Ichi promising to see her again soon. Ayame spends five minutes holding Suma, telling her how much she loves her, and that she will always be her daughter.
ㅤThe next year, Mai, aged eighteen, leaves the island with the blessing of her mother and father to pursue her own life with a tearful goodbye. She promises to be safe, before taking a personal ship and sailing to the island where Whitebeard had last been seen. There, she undergoes a challenge; three days later, Fujihara Mai is accepted into the First Division of the Whitebeard Pirates as their sharpshooter. Her bounty rises from four thousand to five hundred thousand due to her new alliance. She is given the name “Serpent Shooter”.
ㅤJun’Ichi leaves the year following Mai. He vanishes after six months. No one knows where he lands.
Akainu
ㅤIt happens on a quiet Monday morning. Ayame had Kai, age seven, sitting on her lap while he tried to braid grass. Itsuki and Izumi were further down in the courtyard when the sounds of distant canonfire caught her attention. She handed Kai off to Itsuki before running to the docks, where she spots her husband’s ship being destroyed by a Marine vessel. Ayame watches, helplessly, as Yusuke abandons ship and begins to swim to shore. He makes it to the beach as she continues to scream for him, only for Akainu to follow him-
ㅤAnd plunge his fist through the center of Yusuke’s abdomen.
ㅤThe silence that settles is loud; Akainu claims that Yusuke had attacked first ( he had not ), and that he had no choice. Ayame pushed her children behind herself as Akainu approached, only for Kai to run down the dock screaming “PLEASE DON’T KILL MY MOMMY! PLEASE DON’T KILL MY MOMMY!” It’s unknown why Akainu stopped- if it was due to seeing a seven year old sobbing and begging for the life of his mother, to see how Ayame was willing to sacrifice herself for her family, or some other reason-
ㅤBut Ayame was spared, with a warning: To never set sail upon the seas again.
ㅤThe next day, she, along with her children, begin to repair her vessel: the Vermilion Viper.
Death of a Snake
ㅤOn October 16th, the following year, Ayame receives word via denden from one of her brother’s men that Mizuki had slaughtered Daisuke and Daiyu in their sleep. She does not cry.
ㅤAt the end of the year, Ayame makes the decision to leave Janoshima, taking Itsuki and Izumi, as well as a crew twenty strong. Kiyomi docks the Sapphire Serpent in Janoshima, where Ayame and Kiyoko meet.
ㅤThere, Kiyoko reveals her fears of Mizuki. She can no longer trust her, or Kiyomi; they were the two that plotted the death of Daisuke. ( A lie, though Ayame didn’t know this at the time ). Ayame agrees to allowed Kiyoko to take the throne in her absence.
ㅤAyame sees Suma for the first time in years; it’s a tearful reunion, where Suma reveals to Ayame what had been done. Ayame informs Suma of Yusuke’s death; they visit his grave together, where Suma promises to one day leave Kiyomi’s crew- when she’s able to, when it’s safe. Ayame agrees.
ㅤThe Vermilion Viper and Sapphire Serpent departed from the Royal Port of Janoshima on January 1st, though they split ways three hours into the voyage: Ayame ventured North, Kiyomi ventured South. In the three years leading up to the events of canon, Ayame traveled with her children through the Grand Line and into the North Sea, where they made contact not once, but twice with the Heart Pirates- the first time, coming to the unintentional aid of the submarine, and the second- with that being paid in kind.
ㅤAt some point, Ayame was offered the position of a Warlord. She declined.
ㅤAs of the beginning of canon, Itsuki and Izumi have departed the Vermilion Viper and began to sail with Kiyomi to watch her. Kai begins to work on an unknown mission. Ayame begins to make decisions that will later affect everyone.

Iroh introduces Asami to his mother and grandfather.
Finally getting to this! Cross-posted to @korras-christmas day 3 prompt: Iroh/Asami Meet the In Laws (an excellent pairing and prompt imo)
Izumi both was and wasn’t sure what to expect in her youngest son’s first serious girlfriend since that awful break up. On the one hand, Iroh had fairly obvious tastes. All of the women she’d had the pleasure of being introduced to had been pert and lively, intelligent, outspoken, and were for the most part of a tall, leggy variety that Izumi assumed had something to do with the fact that Iroh himself had taken after Mai’s side of the family in the height department. She also had every reason to expect that whomever her son might have met on his various deployments—there had surely been some—since he’d left home followed a similar blueprint. Yet at the same time, Izumi was nervous. That her son was very serious about Miss Asami Sato was obvious. She could hear the love and admiration in his voice as thick as paste when he talked of her. But, United Republic? A foreigner? In her mind, she’d imagined that Iroh would sow his wild oats and live out his privateer fantasies in the United Forces for a few years before the big heart he tried so hard to hide tied him down to some worthy girl in Caldera. Now, she was facing the distinct possibility that her future daughter-in-law, a Princess of the Fire Nation, wasn’t from the Fire Nation at all.
“You’re fidgeting,” said Honora.
“No, I’m not,” said Izumi. She was. She let the comforting silk of her robes drop from between her fingers.
“It’s going to be fine,” said Honora. “No one can be worse than Azaia.”
“Don’t jinx it. And I liked Azaia. She was grounding for him. A good family.”
“You were the only one who liked her,” her wife grumbled. “Gold digger if I ever—”
The door handle jiggled.
Izumi froze, all thoughts of her son’s failed engagement pushed out of her mind by the meeting to come. Asami. Asami Sato. Princess Asami? Only time would tell.
The door to the Firelord’s audience chamber swung inward to reveal two figures. The first she’d recognize anywhere. Little Iroh, all grown up, looked like someone had run a live current through his body. His square jaw was so tight she worried he might crack his teeth. He gave her a rictus smile before stepping forward into a hug for her, then Honora.
“I’m sorry we’re late,” he said. “Bumpy landing.” Then he turned to the woman beside him. “Mother. Mother. I’d like you to meet Asami. Asami, these are my parents.”
“It’s so nice to finally meet you both,” said Asami. She stuck out her hand, paused, then pulled it back and pressed it to the base of her left hand to bow in the proper way instead. As expected, she was just Iroh’s type. Tall, slender, pretty, with long dark hair and an outfit that spoke to both wealth and good taste. Except for her pale green eyes he might have ordered her from a catalog.
“It’s so wonderful to meet you, too!” said Honora. “And none of that formality. Give me a hug, dear.” Without waiting for an invitation she pulled Asami down into a bear hug. Izumi saw her eyes widen in surprise. But she only laughed.
“I can do hugs,” said Asami. Once she was released she turned to Izumi. “Are you a hugger?” she asked.
“I, uh, alright,” said Izumi. Asami stepped forward and hugged her tight. It felt good. When she pulled away Iroh had a little crooked smile on his face.
“Who wants lunch?” he asked.
“By which you mean if we don’t feed you soon you’re going to be a grump,” teased Asami. Her pale green eyes met Izumi’s. “I promise you I take the Iroh care and feeding program very seriously.”
Izumi smiled at that. She was the same way. “Good,” she said. “It’s important for a growing young man.”
Iroh grimaced and patted his flat stomach. “The only way I’m growing these days is out.”
“Oh, please.” Honora rolled her eyes. “You look emaciated, Iroh. Both of you are too skinny. Work, work, work, that’s all I hear from him. And you run a whole company, Asami? By yourself? Come, I’ve ordered everything good from the kitchens for us.”
Iroh grinned and turned to Asami. “I told you.”
“I’m game,” she said.
“It’s spicy,” said Honora. “I can have the kitchens send up something more mild for you though.”
“Oh, don’t worry about that,” Iroh said. “Asami can eat a whole bag of fire flakes by herself.”
“Really?” Izumi found herself asking as they started to walk. Hmm. Perhaps United Republic wasn’t so bad after all?

A3! reading club: act one (chapter 1-6)
(cw: talking about parental neglect and abuse, orientalism, one mention of suicide)
Tumblr media
Hey, ten out of twelve isn't bad, all things considered! This very well could have gone down in October. Also, since it's February (March if you wanna be generous), does that mean everyone in Harugumi's slightly younger than their Year One ages now? Ack, timelines are confusing.
Tumblr media
Izumi casually talking about how Yukio neglected her and following it up with "well, it was probably because he loved this theater so much!" is. Oh, girl. No wonder she snapped when Sakyo suggested he'd abandoned Mankai, because if he hadn't loved it, then why did she have to go through with that?
Tumblr media
I'm not versed enough in Japanese particles but I recognize "daijoubu" and Tsuzuru watching this trainwreck unfold and saying something along the lines of "are you guys, like, okay?" is extremely funny.
Then we get to Sakuya and Masumi's family situations, which. From a meta perspective, it makes sense to want to give your minor protagonists the freedom that having parents limits. That's why the trope of "young protagonist in kid's spec fic media is conveniently an orphan" is so common. (was? I think it's becoming less common now.) The problem lies in the lack of willingness to follow through with the emotional conflict it creates, or resolve said conflict in a satisfying manner. Sure, I'm assuming they weren't starved or physically abused, but being treated like a burden when you're a child is still fucking traumatizing! Basically I think Izumi Sakuya and Masumi should start a union. And I'm glad later chapters go the reasonably more toned-down route of "my parents have a reasonable amount of trust in me to make these kinds of decisions".
Also, can we talk about Sakuya and Masumi, because they're one of my favorite brotps here. The way Sakuya appoints himself as Masumi's surrogate big brother? He's so eager to potentially share a room with him ;-;. (personally I hc that Ms. Sakuma was expecting another child before the accident or whatever killed them, so Sakuya's been a big brother without a younger sibling all this time </3)
Tumblr media
Wow, that doesn't sound like a metaphor for anything! You're right, Izumi, why would you go the easy route of taking something prepackaged and guaranteed when a bunch of wildly different spices can create a delicious meal if you know how to utilize them right?
Am I grasping at straws here. Probably.
The little ka-ching sound effect is adorable.
Tumblr media
Tsuzuru, I'd think "antagonist" should be near the top of the list...also, there's plenty of plays that have been pulled off with two or three actors. Just put on "night, Mother" or something. (Joking. Don't look up night, Mother if you're sensitive to themes of suicide.)
"Tsuzuru, you picked this troupe because it had a dorm, right? ...Then maybe our best bet is to focus on more people in your shoes."
"People in my shoes? In other words...."
"The homeless?"
I CAN'T ASJHGSKSDSK
Tumblr media Tumblr media
he's literally doing the 😔 face i'm on the floor.
Tumblr media
HE'S HERE! Funny how Izumi's right about Citron not being a regular tourist right off the bat. He may not be from another troupe, but he's definitely "in character" right now.
Also, oof. Citron's my second fave in Harugumi after Sakuya, but it's glaringly obvious how much of his character is rooted in orientalism. Sure, maybe it's an act, but why is he talking about how "shameful" showing skin is when his top is (conveniently for us) THAT low-cut.
On another note, I know people have pointed out his distaste for pig's feet as evidence for headcanoning him as Muslim, but I haven't seen anyone point out how he calls Veludo Way a "mecca" of theatre. Like yeah, mecca can just mean hub, but...why didn't they just say hub? Words Have Connotations. I'm not saying this coding is good or bad, it's just a neutral observation.
Tumblr media
AND HERE'S THIS BASTARD (affectionate)
Tumblr media
Oh, Kasumi! (insert pointing reaction pic bc I've run out of photo space.) It's Kasumi, guys! :D

Hi, your izumi comforting s/o after a toxic relationship was so neat, so may I ask for kaoru who comforts his s/o in a similar situation but instead it's her parents who are toxic? Like their marriage is messed up and her father was negligent and harsh towards his wife which makes s/o deeply traumatised and is scared that she will end up in the same situation as her mom? When he asked her one day on a date why she's so fidgetty and jumpy with him she bursts out crying and shaking and tells him about her family? I'm sorry if it's oddly specific, thank you very much.
Tumblr media
"IT’LL BE OKAY, I'M HERE." kaoru hakaze.
author’s note — happy birthday kaoru my little scrimbly.. also i may have gotten carried away with this just bcs🔥🔥
genre — angst, hurt/comfort, fluff
warning(s) — toxic household, mental breakdowns, invalidation of self-trauma
Tumblr media
kaoru notices and remembers all these little things about you— from your features, to your silly little hobbies, etc. which is why it didn't take long for your boyfriend to realize how you'd always fidget when he's around you. he chose to brush it off, reasoning with himself, such as: 'maybe she's just nervous.' or 'maybe it's just a habit.' etc.
until it was getting out of hand. kaoru was not aware of your situation at home, no one else was. besides yourself, of course. instead, he ended up overthinking it. was he the problem? are you uncomfortable with him? is it because he used to be a playboy back in highschool?
you chose to forget about your home life. however, your constant fidgeting, being on-guard at all times was something that you can’t help. it was exhausting. you were perfectly content with how things were— with kaoru being completely oblivious about your life at home and treating you normally like a normal boyfriend would. you didn’t think he would notice and ask you so suddenly about it.
"[name], am i making you uncomfortable?" kaoru came to a stop, facing towards you with a stern expression and stiff posture.
it was a surprise. you, flabbergasted didn’t know how to answer his question. 'what did he mean by that?' your date was already coming to an end. you had fun, but what made him suddenly ask that question? you began to overthink. what you experienced at home began to flash through your mind.
"i don't mean to pry or anything, but if anything's wrong, then you can tell me. i won't judge you or—" he stopped upon seeing your glassy eyes. if there was one thing in this world that you wanted to avoid at the moment, that would be crying. kaoru panicked, looking around as he gently took you to a more private space. kaoru sighs, scooching down to your level (as you ended up doing so the moment you arrived).
you wanted to disappear. you didn't want anyone to worry— let alone, kaoru, who had already lost his mother and had a shitty mother worry about you. after all, he has it worse than you, right?
"[name]," the blonde called out, visibly choosing his words carefully as to not upset you any further. "may i touch you?" he asked, smiling softly as he saw your nod. kaoru moved closer to wrap his arms around your trembling body. "it'll be okay, i'm here." he cooed, holding you until you had calmed down a bit. "i won’t force you to tell me what's wrong. but, if ever, i'll be here to listen. it's not good to bottle things up, you know?"
you sniffed, wiping the remaining tears as a result of your breakdown. "okay," you began, leaning into his touch as you proceeded to tell him everything— from your childhood to present. kaoru did as he said: he listened. he was patient, no matter how much you paused to cry, no matter how much you were slurring. he stayed and listened.
"[name], i can’t promise you anything in terms of me being able to help. but i can promise you that i can be any type of support you need. you deserve so much, and i can never, ever, imagine myself hurting you like that." he took a deep breath, before taking a water bottle out of his bag, opened it and handed it to you.
"you don't have to believe me now, heck, i wouldn't even blame you if you can't trust my words. but i mean it— i may not be the best with comforting, but i can assure you that i'll take care of you."
you finally looked at him, rubbing your puffy eyes as he caressed your cheek. "i trust you…" kaoru’s eyes lit up, his gaze softening. "thank you, kaoru."

"ppl who celebrate character birthdays are annoying pass it on"
FUCK this post, and Happy Birthday Neon Kurama~! ...right, so you know it's all gonna go horribly wrong, but she's our friend! We support her!
Spoilers, I guess...
-What a massive L the Jyamato have taken.
-Garden Grandpa has become Construction Grandpa!
-OOOOOOOH
-Oh hey Daichi. Just sorta hangin' around, huh?
-I don't blame you tbh, I'd be sitting on my ass too.
-April 4th! That's two days from now!
-:)
-Happy Basuday~!
-...:(
-They kidnapped the poor girl on her birthday.
-"What do you even get the Celebrity 'It' Girl who has everything? ...aside from loving parents, treatment like a normal human being, a boyfriend who isn't over twice her age, and a break from creepy weirdos on the internet?"
-...three, five, and seven, huh?
-Keiwa's just totally numb to all of Ace's... Ace-iness.
-Toro, toro!
-It's a Toreador! Just like the ones referenced in that indie horror game from 2014! Octodad: Dadliest Catch!
-...is this just the Seito/Touto proxy battle arena from Build? I think it is, at least, I'm probably wrong.
-Beroba continues to Bull-y Michinaga for her entertainment.
-Fight!
-I swear, by my sword and capote, that I will once again prove victorious!
-Bullfight!
-Rook! Bishop! Buffa! All the most powerful chess pieces!
-Shut the fuck up Chirami, you ain't doing shit.
-"Happy Birthday :)"
-Na-Go Stans are wildin'
-We win, we party!
-Hot damn, Keiwa!
-Oooooh, disarming yourself for a shot? Clever.
-Oh, whoops! Bero be cheatin', who coulda guessed!
-"You cheated. You didn't learn, you didn't improve."
-Oh God, Beroba's gonna leak her DMs.
-Gotta win!
-Oh hello, Kyuun.
-"A present! For me~?"
-"No! >:( ...Maybe :("
-You're so full of crap, man.
-Free Boost~!
-Sweet and salty! Just like sea-salt ice cream!
-Word of advice lads, be honest.
-OH FUCK, IT'S DAD
-...I think I forgot his name, I'm just gonna call him Papa Naoto until I remember it.
-You're only like... marginally better a parent than your wife, man. And that's only because you don't hit her or constantly try restraining her.
-...man, I just realized, Neon suffers trauma from being kidnapped at a young age and her mother just... holds her captive. Irony at its most fucked up.
-To be quite honest, I don't think Kyuun'd be much better company than Jeff Pesos or whoever Izumi had in mind.
-Man, these supporter plotlines are so interesting, holy shit.
-Ah, yep. There's Ace. Looking into it.
-"Geats. How unexpected."
-...Waaaait...
-"I've had quite enough of family matters from last season, thank you very much."
-KOUSEI, THAT'S HIS NAME
-Ace, you don't just walk up to a girl and lay her backstory out like that.
-I'll give Kousei credit, he at least seems legitimately worried.
-Doesn't even seem to have a scratch on her. Seems a little at odds with the depiction of the kidnapping itself, huh?
-Man... Can't even cake.
-Time for the mountain lion to descend upon the bull.
-...shit, that was lame. Pretend you never noticed that.
-OH?
-Okay, it's Ace time!
-Beroba's such a scrublord. Or uh... scrublady, as the case may be.
-Ooooooh, boy!
-Set!
-Dual On! Ninja! Magnum!
-Ready, Fight!
-Get splashed, idiot!
-"Two, huh?"
-Set!
-Ooooooh, he's not going into Laser Boost, okay!
-That's neat! They kept that suit around!
-PNGTuber Beroba.
-Ohhhhhh noooo
-You're an absolutely horrendous excuse of human being, Beroba.
-Great job Takahashi, banger villain. Especially you Namika-san, you're putting in a fantastic performance <3
-Ohhh, Ace is MAD mad.
-Everybody loves Na-Go-san!
-...holy shit, that is so cruel. They just
-Instantly went on a targeted harassment campaign.
-AKARI?
-Ohhhh
-...that's
-That's depressing as fuck.
-...that goes a long way to explain why Izumi was so controlling and Kousei dumped all his money into... I'm gonna be completely honest, what's basically a snuff film ring.
-Why would he let Giroli pick Neon to play then?
-"She was lying" SHUT THE FUCK UP
-Completely ruined my homegirl's life.
-Fucking MURDER that thing, Ace.
-Oh shit, Kyuun! My dude!
-Next episode.
-#NaGoSweep!

Demons Unleashed ~ Origins of the Ink Demon Gaiden Pt.22 ~
Scientist A : Hey, get a load of this. Looks like the magic has finally worked this time.
Scientist B : A brilliant scientific fact I might add. It looks like this girl was supposed to be cannon in Shattered Hero : Episode Maka. But the part canon, she may have strong feet. But she's having some beefy context over those muscles of an automail. And this one chick over here is some fiesty lieutenant, the one with the alchemy tattoo on her back. See this?
Scientist A : This is truly a scientific genius, we are so bad of seeing these two Amestrians with all the beefy goodness, this is truly the power of a God! A God with all of that meaty goodness!
Scientist C : But her melons are quite the enthusiasts, they're so hot, I wanna get my d*ck rocked hard on those sweet abdomen. It's what they say, their abs are as strong like a shield of God itself, these are the true powers of God we have ever found, it's called a Kami.
Scientist D : So this what we've been finiding out these two powerful gods, a god to metal and Alchemy!
Scientist B : My Lord, the greatness of these God are too relying us, we have to take shelter for groin treatment!
Shou : Why great Gods of Fitness, why do you have such beautiful bodies to endure the greatness to our voice. Why do you refuse to let me transcend you into beasts!?
Nina : Father! Stop!
Shou : Nina! What are you doing here?
Scientist A : Dear Lord! It's awake!
Shou : !?
Scar : Amestrians. You'll pay for your transgressions!
Shou : Oh no!
[ELECTRICITY CRACKING]
" 6 years later..."
(Clock ringing+stops)
Winry : (yawning and stretching) Why am I so getting up this big? Did I grew up eventually or this is just the beginning of a new me, all of that fiber gave me the drinking of life time, I wonder if it's milk and honey. (turns on the bathroom light) Ehhh? That's funny I looked different. (looks at the mirror to show her muscular body) !? M-My bod! My perfectly Tomboyish bod! I look like a Mechanic on steroids! (screams in horror)
(scene slides)
Roy : Come on, Author. You know that the new adaptation of the Chinese martial-arts manga is going to be out. I know nothing about a Chinese. Does Curtis look like you that is about to speak Chinese? Don't get me started on this. (hangs up phone) Sheesh! When do they ever learn about bringing a Chinese shounen protag toJapan, that is the real reason Japanese mangakas know nothing about making a shounen protag chinese.
Riza : Colonel, I'm taking Hayate to the park, I'll be back as soon as possible.
Roy : That's great lieutenant. Have fun at the park. (SMASH+CRASH!) Hmm? What the heck was that? Did she just broke through the wall? That wasn't supposed to happen.
Ling Yao : Well, it's good thing that we finally brought us some chinese food if we wanted to heal ourselves with a little appetite.
Winry : Good morning, fellas. How are you doing with the chinese food?
Ling Yao : Ehh?
Lan Fan : What the...?
Mei Chang : It's a wonderful day to get the job done.
Winry : Oh hello there, Mei.
Mei Chang : Mother of Maine! It's a God! Or is this that you, Winry? You looked kinda different.
Winry : Do you know where Edward and Alphonse are at?
Mei Chang : They're at the park, playing some of kind game that will test their strength from their teacher with Arakawa's other boys, those guys are from Juushin Enbuu, also known as Hero Tales.
"At the Park..."
[Empire City (Day) - Fumie Kumatani, Tomoya Ohtani]
Izumi : Alright, boys. Put some muscle into it! Get the job done! I want you and those Arakawa exchange students from China to be a in a Tug-of-war, prove to you that who will be the greatest.
Edward : It's us vs them.
Alphonse : You bet! Let's star pulling!
Winry : Sorry that I'm late boys.
Edward : Huh? I beg your pardon to step out of the league, but we're playing tug-of-war with the--Winry!? What did you do to your self?
Winry : How do you like the new me? A muscular Winry that is now a Kami! (taps on her abdomen) Oi, oi, I feel like this is a new me!
Edward : Would you rather be a muscle woman to carry all of that buffness of yours?
Winry : Sure! Allow me to demonstrate for you when it comes to small body men. (strongly pulls the rope)
Taito : WOAAAAAH!!! *Samurai Jack SFX : Collapse*
Winry : Totally that strong!
Armstrong : Wow! I don't know how to put my finger on this, but you lovely Rockbell, is an absolute beast!
Winry : I'm no beast...I am a Kami!
*DBZ SFX : GONG BANG*
Edward : Hommina, hommina, hommina, hommina, hommina…[Alphonse joins in chanting "Homina", and then the Hero Tales group comes in and starts to chant "Homina" as well.]
Riza : Hey there, boys. Did somebody "Homina" for these guns?
Edward : Oh hey, Lieutenant. Nice to see you dropping by at the park. You see Winry has weird transformation of her body and became something like a "Kami", but what's a Kami?
Riza : It means "God" and we became one as well.
Edward : Well, I don't see your point tho, cause that's--HOLY TOLEDO!
Riza : Nice to see you playing tug of war.
Edward : How did you become one like that!?
Taito : This is a body of a real God!?
Alphonse : What the heck have you been eating!?
Winry : Well, if you don't mind! I've been working out lately, it's not like that anyone sees me as a Godly being with this kind of body! When we're packed with hotness, this rich will become liquid! You don't want these guns do ya?
Riza : I feel good in my system.
Izumi : Holy fishpaste. Those are some buff bods you got there, if only you hadn't been drinking your milk, you would've gotten a perfect body if you have a small like your automail, she has a perfect complex!
Edward : What's that supposed to mean?
Winry : Well, Edward. You don't know who's height that got the best.
Edward : What do you even mean about our heights?
Winry : It means, you have a small body and I have a big body.
Edward : Did you say...Sm...Small?
Alphonse : I'm feeling like you're getting the hang of this.
Winry : I agree!
Riza : Well, it's amazing that I do have complex of my own, but these small body men has no appetite for being this big, after all, I am a God with a muscular body.
Edward : If only calling me Small Body Men would be a great insult, I would go green if turn my tummy into abdomen machine, it's not that personal if only drink that crap instead of drinking vegetable juice!
Winry : Sure you would, and that's not at all! I have something else to show you! (removes clothes to reveal her muscular body) Dadadaaaaa! Behold, the bodies of a true Kami!
Riza : So what do you think of our godliness, Edward? Feeling jealous to our godly bodies?
Edward : You're in public at the park! Would you please put some clothes on!? You're gonna get yourselves in trouble!
Winry : No! It won't hurt a fly! But here's what I'm gonna do.
Taito : (a person taps on his shoulder) Not now, bro. Can't you see I'm looking at two Fullmetal Woman who became muscular Gods or--(gets knocked in the air) YAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!! *DBZ SFX : Wall Hit/Crash* (moans in pain)
Edwatd : Taito! Are you okay!? What happened!? Oh, look. It's Nintendo.
Count Bleck : Sorry for man's behavior, I beg your pardon, great Kami of Fullmetal.
Winry : Who are you, strange top hat fella?
Count Bleck : The name's count bleck and I am the leader of this here group.
"COUNT BLECK : CHAMPION OF DESTRUCTION".
[Senator - Akira Yamaoka]
Count Bleck : But you can call me the Champion of Destruction.
Riza : Could you at least bring an opportunity of why are you here?
Count Bleck : Because...we're here to find the ones they call their selves the Pure Heart hunters...I, Champion of Destruction, have a created object that has a counter part made out of pure evil and darkness, I call it the Chaos Heart, this heart will allow anyone to make anyone into a pure bred villain of destruction. And I heard that you would offer me a Pure Heart, I pressume?
Winry : Yeah, no way! I'm not here for you, don't judge me in offering of yours, I don't really need an offer. But you got the wrong one here.
O'Chunks : Listen, lady! I'm mean green machine with a full cases of a knuckle sandwiches that lays a pounding. Like it or not, you're gonna tell me on whether you get the eight pure hearts from the eight vessels, we won't harm this planet to dust when the planet gets swallowed or swallowed by the black hole.
Winry : Hold the phone, are you saying that you created a heart that will turn someone or anyone into a villain?
Mimi : Of course, now if you tag along we might get orders situated in preparations for the ultimate powers of chaos.
Winry : I think not.
O'Chunks : Eh? What you talking about, smarty pants? Is that the reason that you are going to throw some kind of punch at me?
Winry : I think so too, buddy! *DBZ SFX : STRONG PUNCH*
O'Chunks : WHY DID I EVER DESERVE THIS!? *DBZ SFX : Wall Hit/Crash* Alright, *Train whistling* NOW YOU'VE REALLY MADE ME FURIOUS!!! LET'S GO, YOU AND ME! *DBZ SFX : Melee Flash*
Riza : How about no, chunky.
Winry : I told you, I don't wanna deal with a bunch of hooligans like you all the time. You insure that you're gonna fix Arakawa's other protag to get him for health insurance!
O'Chunks : Imbeciles, have you no rights to Gender Equality!? You women have no idea whom you're dealing!
Count Bleck : Enough! *GUNSHOT* Let's call this a no-fighting zone.
Winry : Okay...I think that you got the wrong idea here. I may not be the collector of the White Pure Heart. But someone else had it.
Riza : It's not me either.
Count Bleck : Then where is the White Pure Heart collector, the eigth and final collector. Tell me where is the heart collector is...or else your so-called girlfriends are gonna get the last laugh by torturing their soles.
Winry : Not my soles! Anything but my Soles! I'm not into fetishes, you twit! I remember who is the eighth and final collector is...and I bet it's not the elric brothers either.
"Meanwhile..."
??? : So this is it. (the White Pure Heart is shown) The White Pure Heart, the one that is connected to the beloved Iris. So this is what Demon Vibe was hiding from all of this. I should've known that the evil forces were from Soul World cleverly a diversion set up to destroy Real World AU and would take over the galaxy for me. But not on my watch, don't worry, I know how to take care of the galaxy and the universe itself. This Dark Fantasy bullsh*t needs to end. I got better things to be improved.

In a distant dream, Seraph could only hear a voice he barely remembers in the bleary depths of recovered memories. "Even though it has been hundreds of years, I still remember how you clung to my dress and tried your hand at decorating my horns. You'll still be my baby, no matter how old you are. Perhaps your father may grant my prayers, and I may never see you again, but I pray for your happiness and health."
Voices in the Void || Accepting!
Seraph finds himself in the same frozen forest that he's become familiar with over the years. Part of him doesn't like it, because it usually involves uncomfortable revelations, or memories that had been suppressed. Khorne hadn't gone through all of his and Makoto's shared memories, only focused on the ones regarding his upbringing and recent exploits during his time as a deathwatcher. Khorne had also never bothered him within the frozen forest. He wandered, the crunch of snow beneath his boots filling his ears, until they twitched at the sound of a voice.
He knows this voice, beneath the haze of recovered memories, past all of the fog of events that happened during his childhood, he's filled with an overwhelming sense of comfort at the sound. Different from the voice of his father, and the icy, yet warm embrace he held. This voice carried upon the wind, and the presence felt much like fresh rain in the morning, and sounded much like the patter of water upon windows. The perfect weather to stay inside and sit by the fire.
"Mother?"
His voice is small, and he looks around, to see if he can find the source of the voice speaking to him. But now, a blizzard rolls in, snow buffeting his face and causing him to pull his hood up and over his head. He couldn't lose her, not now, not after finally regaining his memories! Maybe finding her in this dream would allow him to pick up some sort of clue as to where she was now.
"I'll find you, I promise I'll find you!"
There would be nothing that would stop him from finding Izumi, because she deserved to be bought back home.
He tried pushing through the blizzard, covering his face with his hands, but...the wind picked up enough to push him back, and now the snow was blinding him, but the voice still sounded clear as day over the howling winter winds.
"Don't leave me! Come back!"
He bolts up in his sleep, breath heavy and covered in a cold sweat. His heart raced as he closed his eyes, trying to calm himself. For as much as he got used to the frozen forest...Part of him was beginning to hate that it meant he was being shown things that were out of his reach for the time being.
"I swear upon my oath, I shall find you. I won't rest until I do."
