You couldn’t help the way your heart broke a little as you surveyed the sight of all the trampled flowers, torn grass, and squashed bushes. Blood painted them, making what was a luscious thriving green appear brown and dirty. All of your hard work had gone to waste again— all because of Jaeyoung.
As the god of war, it seemed wherever Jaeyoung went, war would follow. He was generally disliked amongst the other gods because of the violence that always broke out due to his rashness. He had a tendency to be hot headed and think with his spear rather than his head. This was at the expense of many poor humans, as well as your poor flowers. You could never hate him for it, though.
Though the god of war and the goddess of harvest were possibly the two most unlikely pairing, your love was written in the stars, predicted and destined to be since the beginning of time. Jaeyoung was by no means the perfect god, but you were far from perfect yourself. His rashness balanced your overly cautious nature, and his push to take risks had been beneficial many times in the past. At the same time, your thoughtfulness had gotten him out of trouble on numerous occasions over the centuries.
When it came down to it, Jaeyoung was someone who you would always come back to. His loyalty made him more trustworthy than any other god or goddess you knew, and you knew he would always stand by you no matter what and listen to all your concerns. The love and peace of mind he gave you was far more precious than your field of flowers— you could always grow them back.
His wars didn’t happen as often as they used to due to your influence on him. He knew how much you hated bloodshed in general, and you had his word that it would only happen when absolutely unavoidable. You were sure this battlefield was the same.
Broken spears and bloodied bodies remained hidden amongst the tall grass and broken flower stems. You walked through the field, watching as fresh grass and poppies sprouted wherever your feet touched. You carried a basket of ambrosia and a goblet of nectar, intent on giving them to your lover.
Jaeyoung still stood at the other end of the field, ordering his warriors around to check for the dead. He didn’t seem to notice your presence yet, but as you drew closer, he turned around from the brush of your footsteps through the grass.
“Love, why are you here so early? It has not been an hour since the fighting ceased.” He said warily, his deep voice drawing goosebumps out from your skin. He sheathed his sword and cupped your cheek, the familiarity of his rough hands against your smooth skin made your eyes flutter closed. Whether it was in the intimacy of your own or moments after a battle, his touch still held boundless love for you.
“You’re getting gold on me.” You said softly, noticing every movement he took. He drew his hand back, feeling the ichor drips from his fingertips. He wiped it away, and then swept across your cheek where it had stained, returning your skin to its smooth untainted state.
“Forgive me— I have not yet had the chance to tend to my wounds.” He replied.
“I am sorry for coming so early and unannounced. I could not rest while you were not home. I would like to tend to the field before Seungjun’s chariot reaches the west.” You said slowly, searching his eyes for his approval. He nodded, accepting the ambrosia and nectar from you and withdrawing to the shade of a tree to partake in the nourishment.
You trailed along the edge of the field, letting your touch slowly heal the Earth, life sprouting from your very fingertips. Jaeyoung watched you intently, pondering over your differences as he often did. You breathed life into everything you touched, allowing the flowers to bloom, the crops to mature, and humanity to continue. His existence brought death and chaos, fear and loss following him at every turn.
It was a delicate dance; life and death.
When you were satisfied with the flowers now blooming on the field, you ambled back towards the tree that Jaeyoung was now sleeping under. The battle must have tired him out. You knelt beside him, brushing a wet cloth against the cuts that still leaked gold from his body. Your husband was strong as most gods were, but you still cared for him as if he was the most delicate piece of glass.
You knew it was strange how you loved him. Your love for him resembled humans’ love, not the love of a god. Jaeyoung had filled every last piece of your heart, and you loved him with your entire being. It had taken a long time for him to even get a sliver of affection out of you, and you often remembered the days where his efforts to win you over were met with silence from you. You used to despise how treacherous he was; how much pain his wars caused. But it wasn’t entirely his true nature.
Yes, he fought, but he fought for the right causes and he was loyal to his men. You had grown tired of how fickle your fellow gods were. They betrayed each other as if it were their only entertainment, and you would be hard pressed to find a god who had no enemies.
The other gods of Olympus hated Jaeyoung because he had stopped being like them. Once he had met you, and quickly fallen in love, he dedicated his life to you. You were present in all of his thoughts, and he would turn on the whole world before he turned on you. There was not a single other god who you could say possessed such devotion.
The least you could do to return his affection was keeping him as safe as possible. You had never told him how hard you worked to keep connections with the other gods of Olympus. Over half of them were more than ready to kick both you and Jaeyoung out after one of his more rebellious encounters. You convinced them to not strip your husband of his powers, but even now, you had yet to soothe Hera and Athena’s anger.
You were wary of Hera especially. She didn’t forgive others easily, and was known to be jealous and wicked. You knew she was planning something against Jaeyoung even now, and you were anxious to find out what it was. You weren’t sure what else you could do to get you back in her good graces.
Jaeyoung stirred awake at your touch, already alert as soon as he opened his eyes. He glanced up at you, quickly checking that everything was alright before sitting up.
“No one would be able to tell that a battle happened on this field.” His eyes trailed over the fresh flowers and healthy grass; now looking much unlike the field he had fallen asleep to. He then turned back to you, “Thank you for cleaning it up.”
You simply cupped his face and pressed a kiss to his lips, which he gladly reciprocated. It was your silent way of reminding him that you were more than willing to do anything for him. He was yours and you were his for the rest of time, and nothing could ever separate him from you.
You travelled back to Olympus; Jaeyoung seemed cheerful, while you were more cautious. Something in your gut was telling you that now was not the time to show your faces in Zeus’s throne room. You dissuaded your husband from announcing his return, and led him back to your chambers instead, urging him to rest more and promising him to be back within an hour.
But you didn’t return within an hour, and Jaeyoung’s worry grew with each passing minute. Hyojin— the god of archery, music, and poetry— burst in, and with a few quick words of explanation, Jaeyoung’s heart sank. He knew that he had gotten on Hera’s bad side; his willingness to do anything for you only reminded her of how unsuitable her own husband was to her. Jaeyoung knew that she held no fondness for him, but he had never accounted for the full extent of her jealousy.
Hera had captured you, and Jaeyoung had no doubt that she would do whatever it took to get what she wanted out of him, using you as her leverage.

Nothing made you happier than a warm spring day. Something about the beautiful blue sky, the temperature slowly rising with a cool breeze while seeing the first hints of green after a dreary winter made you smile from ear to ear. You always took advantage of a wonderful spring day and could stay outside from sunrise to sunset. And today was no exception to that. You sat on a picnic blanket with Jaeyoung on your lap as Jaehee was blowing bubbles in front of you.
Jaeyoung squealed and clapped his hands as the bubbles flew in his direction, reaching out to pop the ones that were within arm's length. One landed on his nose, causing him to go cross-eyed as he tried to look at it. You giggled and snapped a quick picture before popping the bubble. His sweet laugh rang in your ears, making you lean down and kiss his forehead. Jaehee waved her hand around wildly in hopes of making more bubbles form but instead, the soapy liquid flew everywhere.
You stand corrected: nothing makes you happier than a warm spring day with your twins.
"Eomma, do you or JaeJae want to blow bubbles?" Jaehee asked, waving the wand in your face.
"I think you should show JaeJae the wand first." You answered.
She handed Jaeyoung the wand, who merely stared at it. Jaehee frowned but didn't let his lack of response deter her, instead holding it in front of you instead. You took the wand from her and blew bubbles much bigger than they had seen. There was only so much air that Jaehee could exhale and most of her bubbles were tiny. The twins stared at the bubbles in awe before running around to chase after them. You watched them fondly, an overwhelming warmth washing over you from the mere sight of them excited over something as simple as bubbles.
"Jaehee, do you want more fruit?" You called, picking up the container of fruit that was filled with berries.
"Yes, please."
She came running over and took a seat beside you to resume her snacking that was momentarily paused by the bubbles. You called out to Jaeyoung as well but he ignored you, continuing to occupy himself with a stick he had found after losing interest in the bubbles. With a strawberry stabbed into a yellow plastic fork in one hand, you approached your son and squatted beside him.
"Jaeyoung," You said softly so you wouldn't startle him.
"Eomma, look! Stick.”
The widest smile spread across his face at the sight of you. You smiled back at him, holding out the fork in front of him, which he snatched out of your hand and ate in one bite. He then turned his attention back to the stick, waving it around excitedly, almost poking himself in the eye while he was at it.
"Be careful, JaeJae."
Jaeyoung was a splitting image of you. From the shape of his eyes to the fullness of his lips, he was an exact reflection of you. His resemblance to you was one of the first things that the nurses pointed out once he popped out of your womb. Even at three years old, his features remained the same and he was your mini-me.
You left Jaeyoung alone, watching him fondly as he played around in the grass, finding entertainment in ripping handfuls of it before letting the wind blow it away from his hand. Jaehee waddled over towards you, plopping down in your lap with a couple of wildflowers in her hand that she picked.
"Look, eomma, flowers!" She exclaimed.
Jaehee, on the other hand, looked nothing like you. In fact, she seemed to take all of the features of her father. You still were shocked whenever you took a good look at her, wondering how it was possible for her to be a carbon copy of her father. It was amazing how each twin looked exactly like either of their parents and if anybody were to ever see the four of you, they would know immediately that you guys were a family.
"They're so pretty, Petal." You beamed. "Do you want to put one in your hair?"
You gently tucked the flower into her hair, adjusting accordingly so it wouldn't fall out. You couldn't help but snap a dozen pictures of her, giggling at how she posed for every single one. You couldn't believe how photogenic a three-year-old could be; she would be a great model if she ever decided to pursue a modeling career in the future.
"You look so pretty, baby." You cooed, leaving a big smooch on her cheek.
Jaehee smiled at you with a giggle, wiping your kiss off, to which you dramatically pouted. You peppered her face in kisses, making her squeal as she tried to escape your grasp.
"I kiss you too." She leaned in and kissed you smack on your lips.
"Oh, thank you." You laughed.
"Eomma!" Jaeyoung came walking over. "A doggie!"
You looked to your right and saw a rather big dog sniffing his way over in your direction. It looked up at the three of you, letting out a bark before bounding over. The twins excitedly met the dog halfway, being easily knocked over by the sheer size difference. They stood back up, however, laughing as the dog licked them all over their face and sniffed them frantically.
"Why hello there." You greeted the dog, getting up on your knees to pet it. You received a lick on your cheek in response. "What's your name?" You took a look at the collar, reading 'Jeon Bam' which was engraved on the tag.
"Bam!"
A man's voice startled you as Bam barked loudly upon hearing his name. The Doberman quickly abandoned the three of you and ran over to the figure who began scolding him, jumping up onto his hind legs out of excitement.
"Bam, you can't run away like that!"
When you looked up and caught a glimpse of who was in front of you, you felt like throwing up.
It had been over four years since you saw Jeon Jungkook in front of you. The last time you spoke to him was when he stared at you in disappointment as you begged him to let you into his dorm so you could speak with his bandmate. Seeing him in the flesh seemed unreal. You swore that you would never see him again yet here he was, standing in front of you as he smiled down at the twins fondly.
"Did you make new friends, Bamie?" Jungkook cooed, affectionately rubbing his head.
“Puppy!” Jaeyoung shrieked, launching his entire body forward and onto Bam.
You gasped in horror and quickly grabbed him, pulling him off of Bam, who was unfazed. “JaeJae, that was not nice. You have to be gentle, remember? Nice hands.”
Jungkook chuckled. “No worries, he’s so much smaller than Bam that he didn’t even feel it.”
You smiled wearily, waiting for him to realize who he was speaking to.
“Sorry about him knocking your kids over, he usually doesn’t run off when I take his leash off. I guess he saw the three of you and—"
Jungkook's voice left him as he finally looked up, making eye contact with the woman he was talking with for the past few minutes. His doe eyes grew to the size of saucers that you thought his eyes were going to fall out of their sockets. You simply smiled, struggling to hide the overwhelming wave of emotions that were drowning you.
"Y/N?" His voice was small, reminding you of Jaehee when you scolded her for doing something she wasn't supposed to.
"Hi, Jungkook."
Your voice was merely a whisper, for you feared you would burst into tears if you spoke louder. You forced yourself to push down the lump in your throat since you knew that you couldn't afford to break into tears with the twins in front of you. Maybe if you were alone, you would allow yourself to shed a few tears but you couldn't right now.
"Is that really you, noona?" Jungkook asked.
That damn honorific; you always found it weird being addressed as noona by other guys but it was endearing when it came from Jungkook and hearing him call you noona made you wonder if he still saw you the same way he did when he was friends.
"It really is me." You laughed, tears burning your eyes as you watched Jungkook's eyes flash with all kinds of emotions.
He crouched down in front of you, reaching his hand out to wipe the tear that fell down your face. You flinched, jerking your head away from him before he could touch you, wiping away the tear yourself. Your stomach twisted as his face dropped in hurt, gulping when he bit down on his lip and quickly retracted his hand.
"Where have you been, noona?" Jungkook asked.
"I've always been here, Kook. I just made sure to stay out of your way." You responded, uncaring about how harsh the truth was.
He glanced over at the twins, who were still occupied with Bam. The Doberman had taken it upon himself to curl up on the picnic blanket, content with the way Jaehee and Jaeyoung were petting him. Jungkook smiled at the sight for a split second before it dropped as quickly as it appeared.
"Is it because of—"
"Yup."
A heavy silence fell between the two of you. You didn't want to be so rude to Jungkook after seeing him for the first time in four years but you couldn't help but be angry that he was acting as if he didn't dump you on the side of the road after your breakup with Hoseok. He had been one of the people who accused you of cheating and his mere presence was close to sending you into a fit of tears.
"Does hyung know?" Jungkook's tone was cautionary, almost as if he was afraid to ask you.
"No. He blocked me after I sent the first ultrasound pictures that the doctor gave me. He doesn't even know that I have twins." You replied blankly.
Jungkook never experienced being stabbed by someone but with your blunt words and harsh tone, he felt as if you had attempted to stab him countless times. He always knew in the back of his mind that he shouldn't expect you to be kind in the instance that he saw you again but talking to you in real-time made it hurt all the more. And he knew that he had no right to be hurt when he contributed to all of the pain you felt over the last four years since the breakup.
"Oh."
You got up onto your knees and began packing the picnic basket. Jungkook watched helplessly as you quickly placed your containers and bottles in the basket, almost as if you were rushing to get away from him. "Time to go home, say bye bye to Bam."
Jaehee waved at Bam as you picked her up in one arm, holding the basket with the same hand. You grabbed Jaeyoung's hand, grateful that neither of the twins was putting up a fight, and instead found interest in the dandelions that had turned white.
"Y/N—”
"I have to go home, the twins need to take a nap before it's too late in the afternoon. It was nice seeing you again, Jungkook."
Without another word, you headed towards the parking lot beside the car, leaving Jungkook with no choice but to watch you disappear again. He swallowed the lump in his throat, unable to tear his eyes away even after you placed the twins in their car seats and drove out of the parking lot.
"It was nice seeing you too, noona."
Tumblr media
"Are you sure it was Y/N?"
"For the hundredth time, yes!"
Namjoon, Seokjin, and Yoongi flinched from Jungkook's sharp tone, muttering an apology under their breath. The maknae had been on edge ever since he came over to the dorm with Bam, clearly agitated from whatever happened while he was out. Seokjin had been the one to gather the other hyungs when Jungkook simply replied with your name after he asked what was wrong.
Jungkook ran his hand through his hair in frustration, irritated with how none of them believed that he saw you at the park. How could he mistake you for someone else when you had left such a distinct mark on his life? You also responded when he said your name and your children were carbon copies of you and Hoseok. How could it not be you?
"And she was there with two kids?" Seokjin asked.
"Yes, one boy and one girl. They're pretty young so I'm sure they're Hoseok hyung's kids."
Namjoon scowled at how quickly Jungkook assumed that they were Hoseok's children. "How do you know that it's not some other man's kids?"
"Because his daughter is him but with long hair! If you took one look at her you would know that they're Hoseok hyung's kids. Y/N didn't cheat like we all thought she did."
The room fell silent at Jungkook's outburst as his words sunk in. It felt as if somebody dump a bucket of cold water over their heads, the reality of what happened four years ago coming to light. All of them had been so convinced that you cheated on Hoseok with how angry he was and with the proof he had that they assumed all these years that you were pregnant with another man's kid.
"We were wrong." Jungkook's voice cracked as tears welled up in his eyes yet again. "We were so fucking wrong about Y/N."
Namjoon placed his hand on his shoulder, rubbing it comfortingly. "It's okay, Kook. None of us knew."
"Yeah, but we still treated her like she was the scum of the Earth and she raised twins on her own for the past four years. We all know that she didn't deserve any of that."
Out of everybody in Bangtan, Jungkook was the most affected by abruptly cutting you out of his life other than Hoseok. Though he wasn't the member you were closest with, he had a kind heart and a pure soul. Refusing to let you see Hoseok after the initial demand to break up and blaming you for cheating on his best friend tore him inside. He didn't want to believe that you would do something as cruel as cheating but Hoseok would always come first. Part of him always felt guilty for pushing you out of his life, even if it had been four years.
"What are we going to do? We have to tell Hoseok hyung, don't we?" Jungkook asked.
Yoongi shook his head. "I think it's best if we don't tell him. He's been better off without Y/N and you saw how long it took for him to move past the breakup. If she stayed in Seoul and none of us have run into her for the past four years, I highly doubt it'll happen now."
"That's not fair, he deserves to know!" Jungkook protested.
"Yeah, I think we should tell him. Just so he knows and isn't kept in the dark." Namjoon agreed.
Seokjin raised his eyebrows. "Does he deserve to know? He blew up on Y/N, accused her of cheating when he could've asked to take a paternity test. He abandoned her and left her to raise their twins on her own knowing that she had nobody in her life to help her. Do you really think he deserves to know?"
Silence could be suffocating. It was amazing how something so simple could grab you by the throat and leave you gasping for air. Seokjin and Yoongi stared at Namjoon and Jungkook, their arms crossed and chins up with defiance while the younger cowered away from their pointed looks. Namjoon may be the leader of the group, but Seokjin and Yoongi were the eldest, and sometimes they knew better. Namjoon understood that and respected it, but this time, he wasn't sure if they really did know better.
Tumblr media
Jung Hoseok was observant.
It was a trait he picked up and developed after being the dance leader of Bangtan for nine years. He spotted even the smallest mistakes that the members made during the choreography, keeping it in mind to help correct them after the run-through. In the instances where he missed the mistakes, either the expressions of the members would give it away or they would confess that they messed up. This situation fell under both categories. He could tell some of the members were hiding something from him and knew someone would eventually crack and tell him what was going on. That someone was Jungkook.
Hoseok noticed that Seokjin, Yoongi, Namjoon, and Jungkook seemed to know something other members didn't. He also noticed that it didn't involve Taehyung or Jimin as they acted normally around them. Maybe Hoseok was a bit too observant. Or maybe he knew his brothers well enough to be aware that they were hiding something from him. He didn't know when Jungkook was going to fess up but it wouldn't be long until he did. After all, he could never hide anything from his beloved Hoseok hyung.
"I feel like we haven't talked in a while, Jungkookie." Hoseok collapsed on the floor beside the maknae, leaning against the wall before taking a sip out of his water.
Jungkook looked at him amusedly, his eyes twinkling. "What do you mean, hyung? We talk almost every day."
"No, I mean we haven't talk-talked. We need to catch up." He replied. He then moved closer to Jungkook with a smile. "Anything new in your life?"
Okay, so maybe Hoseok wasn't being as subtle as he thought. He came up with an elaborate plan on how to coax Jungkook into telling him what he was hiding but it didn't seem to be going to plan. His eagerness to find out what was going on muddled his brain and he couldn't help but spit out his immediate thoughts.
"No, nothing new. I've been just playing games at home and lying around when I'm not with you guys." Jungkook answered.
Hoseok narrowed his eyes at him, giving him an accusing look. "Are you sure about that?"
"Yes?"
"Really?"
"I'm not really following right now," Jungkook confessed. "Why are you interrogating me right now?"
"Because I know you're hiding something, Jeon Jungkook." Hoseok hissed, his resolve breaking. "And I know that the other hyungs know too. Now tell me, what are you guys hiding from me?"
The maknae's eyes widened as he backed away from him. "What are you talking about? We're not hiding anything."
Whether or not Jungkook drastically improved his acting and lying skills, Hoseok didn't know but he was doing a magnificent job at not spilling whatever secret was floating around between half of the group.
"Yes, you guys are." Hoseok accused. "I'm not an idiot and have seen you guys whispering for the past week. What's going on?"
Jungkook let out a laugh before shaking his head. "You must be crazy. I think you're misinterpreting normal conversations for something that they're not."
"Are you gaslighting me right now?" Hoseok had to admit that he was acting out of line. He was treading on a hunch and there was no solid evidence that Jungkook and the rest of the hyung line knew something he didn't. But seeing the way Jungkook was pretending as if he wasn't whispering behind his back even if he wasn't keeping a secret was irking him.
"I'm not, promise." Jungkook laughed. "I've got nothing to hide and even if I did, you would be the first person I would tell. Have I ever kept something from you?”
"No," Hoseok reluctantly answered.
"Exactly." Jungkook pointed out. "There's no secret being kept. Don't worry about something that doesn't even exist."

"The universe has never been on your side, Y/L/N, Y/N."
"Tell me about it." You sighed.
You took a sip of your blueberry hibiscus tea, slamming it down against the table miserably. Eunae stared at you sympathetically, patting you on the shoulder in a poor attempt to make you feel better. She perked up when her boyfriend approached the table with a slice of strawberry shortcake in his hand, immediately taking it from him to place it in front of you.
"Here, eat this. You'll feel better after you eat some cake." She urged, picking up a forkful.
"Thanks for the cake, Seungcheol." You mumbled before opening your mouth to take a bite.
Eunae was your delivery nurse while you gave birth to the twins. You were grateful that your nurse was somebody your age, as it brought more comfort to have a person who could understand you. The rest of your delivery team were middle-aged adults and while they were the most excellent team you could ask for, it was hard trying to connect to them. You and Eunae hit it off immediately upon meeting each other and she had been in your life ever since.
For the past three years, she had been by your side to help you raise Jaehee and Jaeyoung without hesitation. After realizing that you were a single mother with no support system, she befriended you and took you in with open arms. Even if you had family and friends to rely on, there was no doubt that the two of you would've remained friends.
Seungcheol, on the other hand, was somebody you met through Eunae. Your first time meeting him was nothing short of awkward and embarrassing, and it was something the three of you never dared to discuss. About a year after the twins were born, Eunae revealed that she had been seeing a guy and that they were officially dating for six months. While you were initially upset that she never told you, she explained that she couldn’t tell you because she quite legally wasn’t allowed to. Your first assumption was that Eunae was dating perhaps some top-secret government worker who could end either of their lives if he wanted to.
What you didn’t assume was that you would find her making out on her couch with Choi Seungcheol.
"What the fuck?" You squawked.
Eunae and Seungcheol immediately jumped apart from one another, scrambling to fix their clothes and hair while avoiding eye contact. You gaped at them, unable to believe that your best friend was dating a K-pop idol, specifically one who was a member of one of the most popular groups in Korea. Their faces were beet red, unable to look you in the eye.
“You’re dating Choi Seungcheol?” You screeched. “Seventeen’s leader S. Coups? User Sound_of_Coups on Instagram?”
“Shut the fuck up, Y/N!” Eunae shrieked, chucking a pillow at your face.
You quickly dodged it, scowling at her as the twins almost flew out of their stroller. Luckily, they remained asleep amidst the chaos, unaware of what was unfolding in front of them. “Hey, you're going to hit the twins if you're not careful. Watch it.”
“I don’t fucking care,” Eunae growled. “Why didn’t you knock?”
“Because you leave the door unlocked for me to walk in whenever you dumb bitch.”
“Are you allowed to be swearing in front of them that much?” Seungcheol piped up.
You and Eunae paused, looking over at the twins for a brief second before shaking your heads.
“They’re asleep, they can’t hear us,” Eunae said.
Seungcheol tilted his head, unsure of how accurate her statement was but accepted it regardless. He then stood up from the couch, bowing to you as he introduced himself. "Hi, Y/N, I'm Seungcheol. It's nice to finally meet you, I've heard a lot about you from Eunae."
"All good things, I hope." You joked, pressing on the brakes from the strollers before Eunae pushed you aside to grab one of the sleeping twins, cooing about how she missed them.
"Only great things." Seungcheol smiled. "Eunae speaks highly of you so I've been excited to meet you. "I'm sorry about the circumstances we met under, I had no idea you would be visiting today."
You shook your head as you swung your diaper bag over your shoulder and picked up Jaeyoung. "No, please don't apologize. It was my fault for not knocking. Eunae usually lets me walk in whenever I come over and I didn't expect her to have a guest. I'm glad to meet you though."
Admittedly, you were a bit skeptical about her relationship with Seungcheol after your past disaster of a relationship with Hoseok but kept your mouth shut about it. You knew you weren't in the place to judge considering that you didn't know much about Seungcheol nor was it fair to assume that all idols were the same. The last thing you wanted to do was displace your ill feelings from Hoseok onto Seungcheol. Over the past two years, however, you learned that Seungcheol was nothing like Hoseok and you had nothing to be worried about in regards to his intentions with Eunae.
They first met during the Ode to You Tour after Eunae had been hired to work as one of the onsite nurses for the group. She and Seungcheol hit it off well during the few months Seungcheol was part of the tour, even remaining in contact after his hiatus from group activities. Eunae became somebody he often confided in, sharing his worries and in return receiving valuable advice. Once the tour was finished, Eunae landed a job at the hospital you delivered the twins which is how your friendship came to be. Not too long after she began working there, Seungcheol asked her out and their relationship soon came to be.
"Are you going to tell Hoseok?" Seungcheol asked. "There's no way Jungkook isn't going to tell him about the twins."
That was the one thing you were certain about following the conversation with Jungkook. The maknae quite literally worshipped the ground Hoseok walked in and while you were dating Hoseok, you had seen many instances of Jungkook's immense love for him. After the fight you and Jungkook had before you cut all contact, there was no doubt that he would go running to his hyung and open his mouth about who he saw at the park.
"I don't know, to be honest. Hoseok doesn't think the twins are his so I don't think he'll care that Jungkook saw me. He'll probably just get angry and end the conversation." You aggressively stabbed at your cake, scooping the piece into your mouth.
"I wouldn't tell him if I was you. He made the choice to accuse you of cheating when he literally could've gotten a paternity test done and left you alone to raise not one but two children on your own. He has no right to know about the twins nor be in your lives. I say fu-screw him." Eunae slammed her fist on the table, startling Jaehee.
Seungcheol gave her a disapproving look, shifting Jaeyoung on his lap so he could take Jaehee away from her. "You're scaring Jaehee."
Eunae snatched her back, settling Jaehee on her lap before ticking her stomach. "Jaehee knows that Eunae imo isn't scary, right, neoguri?"
You rolled your eyes, thinking about all of the times Eunae accidentally scared the twins with her loud voice and enthusiastic personality. She was perhaps the most outgoing and bubbly person you met, which was no match for her tiny figure. Sometimes you felt like she was meant to be six feet tall but was unfortunately trapped in a five-foot body. Her attitude and personality certainly made up for the lack of inches in her height.
"I think it's best if I don't tell him. If Jungkook told him then that's fine because there's nothing I can do. I don't think he's ever kept a secret from Hoseok out of all people." You groaned, dropping your head on the table.
Eunae moved the cake away from your hair, tutting as she wiped some frosting off. "Honestly, Jungkook doesn't deserve to know about the twins either, considering how he treated you when you ran into him at the dorm. He's equally as bad as Hoseok. Public enemy number two in my eyes."
You laughed at her comment as you lifted your head off of the table, grateful that she had been loyal to you from the start. She and Seungcheol, alongside the Seventeen members, were the only ones who you really had in your life. Though you lacked so much compared to them and lived a life that strayed away from the norm, they easily welcomed you into their lives with open arms and brought you in to be part of their family.
"What if you run into him? You ran into Jungkook so surely you'll run into Hoseok at some point too, whether you're with the twins or not." Seungcheol pointed out.
You scrunched up your face at the mere thought of bumping into your ex-boyfriend. You were quite positive that you would punch his annoyingly beautiful face if you ever saw him again and had even learned how to throw a proper punch from Mingyu just in case. "I think I would punch him. Or run back in the direction I came from."
"You better punch him, Y/L/N Y/N or god so help me," Eunae growled. "I'll punch him too so he can walk around with matching black eyes."
"You are so violent." Seungcheol smiled tightly.
"It's the only answer."
He simply kissed her on the forehead, nodding along in agreement as she angrily muttered about how much she hated Hoseok and what she planned on doing if she ever came across him. "You do that, baby."
"I don't know what I'm going to do if I see him again. I truly think I might implode." You mumbled.
Seungcheol laughed nervously, as he glanced over at the door upon hearing the bell ringing. "Would seeing the other members make you implode?"
"I don't know, probably not."
"Good, because Jungkook and Yoongi just walked in,"
Eunae immediately snapped her head up. "What?"
She gasped loudly, swatting at you to get your attention. To your utter horror, Jungkook and Yoongi were approaching the counter as they stared at the menu. They were wearing a hat and masks to cover up their faces but it was obvious to you and Seungcheol that it was them. Eunae narrowed her eyes, wondering how Seungcheol was able to recognize them so easily when their hats almost covered their eyes and their mask hid half of their face. Luckily, the three of you were secluded in the corner of the cafe so that nobody would spot Seungcheol.
"Y/N, move down one seat so you're against the wall. Cheol, go sit beside her."
The two of you immediately obeyed, switching around the seats before Eunae passed Jaehee to the two of you. Your heart was racing as you curled into your daughter, barely registering Eunae telling Seungcheol to wrap his arm around your waist and pull you close to his body to hide you from Yoongi and Jungkook to the best of his abilities.
"I know this is weird but when you guys sit like that it looks like you guys are a random couple. There's no way either of them will be able to recognize you two especially with your backs facing them." Eunae explained in a low tone.
All you could hear was your heart pounding in your ears as you stared down at the table, remaining frozen as Seungcheol and Eunae talked among themselves in hushed tones. Jaehee and Jaeyoung were fortunately distracted by the new coloring books Eunae gifted them, unaware of the panic between the three of you. Bile rose in your throat as you heard Jungkook and Yoongi laughing, their voices becoming louder as they walked closer to your table.
The unfortunate part about the table you had chosen was that it was near the pickup counter. Though there was still a good distance between the table and the counter, there was a higher chance you would be spotted. Seungcheol moved even closer to you, placing his elbow on the table and resting his face on his hand so he could block Jaeyoung's face completely. Eunae watched them discreetly, occasionally glancing at them to assure that neither of them had spotted you. It was shocking that they were at the same coffee shop the three of you were at, considering that it was the most common meetup spot and you had yet to see any of the BTS members walk in. Whether they had already been customers you didn't know but your run-ins with them no longer felt like coincidences.
"I think they're gonna leave soon, Yoongi just grabbed his drink and they're making Jungkook's, I'm pretty sure," Eunae reported.
"What's taking them so long to make two drinks?" Seungcheol grumbled. "How complicated are their orders?" He then glanced down at his arm that was around your face, cringing at the proximity. "Sorry, Y/N, but if I have to hold you like this any longer I might have to spill Eunae's drink on you."
"Not if I do it first." You sneered.
Eunae rolled her eyes at the childish remarks, wondering how Seungcheol was the leader of a thirteen-member band while you were the mother of twins yet both of you acted like elementary school students. "Lucky for you guys, they're gone." She remarked dryly.
Seungcheol ripped his arm away and happily sat back down beside Eunae, sliding his arm around her waist before dropping his face into the crook of her neck. "Thank fucking god, if I had to touch her for another second I was going to call Yoongi and Jungkook over."
Eunae gasped, aggressively slapping him for the rude comment. "Choi Seungcheol, watch what you say!"
"I think you need a new boyfriend." You folded your hands on the table, tightly smiling at the couple in front of you. "A better one."
She ignored your comment, instead turning back to the issue at hand. "It looks like you'll have to be careful for the next few days, Y/N. Running into Yoongi once and Jungkook twice means that you're a lot closer to Hoseok than you thought."
It seemed as if your issue of running into Yoongi and Jungkook stemmed from your recent move. You moved into a new apartment about two months ago after saving up to move to a bigger one. You and the twins lived in a one-bedroom apartment that was far too cramped for the three of you but you couldn't afford to move to a bigger place up until the new year. You spent the past three years saving up to move to an apartment that was well-fit for the twins to grow up. Though you lived in Seoul previously, your new apartment was closer to the heart of the city and it seemed like that was where the Bangtan members were located.
"I knew I should've moved into a different apartment." You lamented, dropping your head back onto the table.
Eunae reached out and brushed your hair soothingly. "Everything's going to be okay, Y/N. If you run into Hoseok, then you run into Hoseok. Whatever happens, just know that Cheol and I are always by your side. Don't worry too much."
You smiled at her, grateful that she was doing all she could to comfort you even to the point where she dragged her unwilling boyfriend along with her. Despite her words, however, tears stung your eyes as you pressed your lips together, trying to stop them from falling. The fears that accumulated over the years were reaching their breaking point and bumping into Hoseok would surely tip you over the edge.
Even though he was the one who had left you and the twins, you had a nasty feeling that you would be fighting to keep your kids within arm's reach.

Hannah, how about morning sex with onf? (just an idea) ^^
Sorry for the long wait, my love. This came out so so soft. I hope you enjoy it!
They will be back soon!!!
Morning sex with ONF
Mostly how they start morning sex
Pairing: ONF x female reader
Warnings: bad language, semi-sonmo (with assumed consent), mentions of oral, mentions of penetration, mentions of masturbation
Bonus song rec: HOMESWEETHOME, by Yerin Baek
➹Hyojin:
It usually starts with him refusing to get up and not letting you go. "What can be better than staying here with your man?" Is there any reasonable reason? Anyways, sometimes, you all just stay in bed for way too long.
Hyojin tightened his grip on your wrist after you insisted on leaving his side. Even though it was evident that he was fully awake, he started arguing that he needed more time and you certainly needed it too. He kissed your inner wrist with closed eyes, methodically going up your arm. " Also, you know I can eat pussy so well" he whispered against your shoulder.
"Boy, it's 9 AM" you chuckled, not sure whether he was truly down for it. The only thing he wanted was you lying back, right? You rested your body on the mattress, intrigued to see where that was leading you all to.
"Can I?" he asked brushing his nose on yours and delicately pulling on your waistband.
➹J-Us (Seungjun):
It starts with the two of you waking up very close. Your leg circling his waist and his face onto your neck/breasts.
He regained his conscience and nuzzled you awake. "Babe, you smell so good. Am I in a garden?"
You roused muddled, his voice calmly saying you were in his arms. It was so warm there, his breath tickled you in a good way. "G' morning, Jun" you murmured, still feeling your neck being sniffed by your boyfriend.
He alternated nose rubs and pecks all over your neck and jaw until he wanted more of you. Red patterns took your sensitive skin over and his skilled hands had pulled your strap top down. You did not even feel that coming, yet your nipples were between his fingers.
➹E-Tion (Changyoon):
You know it when you all will be making love in the morning by the kisses he traces down on your back. He never wakes you up harshly but when he is in a mood, he becomes mischievous.
The kisses he gifted you were indecent, they were noisy and it seemed like he was trying to save a melting popsicle. You woke up with your shirt rolled up and his sensual presence to arouse you. "My love," you whimpered "what do you want from me?"
"Is this bad?" he promptly asked just to turn back to his conduct because he knew the answer you would give him.
"On the contrary" you just formalize half moaning the words. Changyoon slowly laid on top of you, deliciously crashing you onto the mattress. His erection settled right between your butt cheeks while his mouth stood close to your ear "I want you so bad, let me be inside you"
➹Wyatt (jaeyoung):
On most occasions, it starts with you. You see him sleeping and even though he holds the prettiest pout, his arms are so damn bulky that it makes you curse in your head.
You kissed him good morning and whispered sweet nothings so he woke up smiley. "Please, more kisses" he requested low, in a way that have your mind speeding up. You need to hear his lazy moans in your ear.
You do as he asked for, lingering your lips on the corner of his own before saying your plea. "I wanna make love to you". He chuckled and leisurely grabbed you by the middle in order to bring you closer. His leg easily slid between yours and he started to suck on your shoulder. That had you hyperventilate in no time, like a fool. "Jaeyoung..."
A deep grunt reverberated from him every time you gasped his name. You hated the way he got you out of your mind before you could do anything. Even your hips moved by themselves so your folds rubbed against his leg.
➹MK (Minkyun):
It starts with him pretending he does not want you to wake up.
His nose brushed on your shoulder blade and he purred from time to time. You jerked a few times in your sleep so his heart fluttered in response but you were just slightly shifting position. He did not notice it but his grip around your waist tightened because of his anticipation.
After your hand stumbled from the pillow, you hooked one of his thumbs and forced his hand out of you. "Kyun, it hurts" you panted. The pout on his lips can be spotted in his voice. "Sorry, that wasn't my intention but... I'm in pain too"
You turned to face him the fastest you could, placing your face pretty close to his. Your eyes could not stay open while he admired your face with lust. "Tell me where it hurts?" you asked, starting to get concerned.
"Angel, it's my cock. I mean, I'm so hard" he confessed shamelessly.
➹Yuto (U):
You and he are so in tune that you often wake up both in a mood.
Your breathing was stable near his ear, so Yuto tried not to move. You hugged him as if he was a Teddy bear and your hand settled relaxed on his abdomen. He could not stop daydreaming about you stroking his member as the sunlight gifted your lazy bodies.
Once you woke up and found out he was killing time by playing with your fingers, you caressed his torso upwards, feeling every inch of him. "Gotta get up now, babe?" you asked.
"I don't have anything to do, plus wanna stay with you longer" he replied, letting you continue to palm him, though his touch slightly guided your massage down his shorts. With your delicate hand, you slid his waistband down and clutched his half-hard shaft.

Keep Quiet For Me Noona | Choi Yeonjun
Tumblr media
Summary: Roles reverse as Yeonjun asks you to let him take care of you Pairing :f!reader x Yeonjun Word Count: 3k~ Warning: Explicit Language, age gap (four years), Noona kink, oral and fingering (Female receiving) Requested by @pastelpinkjoon and an anon <3 hope you guys like it! Read Keep Quiet For Me for more context~
"Let me make you feel good" I hear the words drip out of Yeonjun's mouth laced with so much seduction that it leaves me wanting to rub my thighs together, and if he wasn't already laying between them I would.
How did I end up here?
Three months ago
"Noona wait up!" I hear and look over my shoulder to see Yeonjun running up to me. "Oh hi Yeonjun, how are you?" I question when he finally catches up to me while I make my way to sit in our University's quad. "I'm good thanks, I wanted to see if maybe we could hang out sometime?" he asks while also trying to catch his breath. "You want to hang out with me? Why not Jaeyoung? Did you guys fight?" I question confused as to why he suddenly wanted to spend time with me instead of my little brother who also happens to be his best friend. "No we didn't fight or anything like that, I just wanted to spend some time with you!" he says with a bright smile on his face.
"And why's that?" I ask tilting my head, trying to figure out his exact motives. "Well..." he starts and pauses for a second "I guess what I'm trying to say is that I think you're really pretty and I want to ask you out" he explains scratching the back of his neck, and I can now see how the tips of his ears are turning pink. "Yeonjun you do know I'm four years older than you right?" I say giving him a half smile.
"Yeah I know, I've known you for long enough to at least know that" he says referring to how many years you've know each other (about 7 but who's counting). "Have you talked to Jaeyoung about this?" I question crossing my arms, amused by his behavior. "Well... no" he says with his head drooping. "Yeonjun I don't want to mess up your friendship with my brother just because you have a crush on me. I know you guys are close and I don't want to cause any awkwardness between you two" I finish giving a reasonable answer, hoping that it'll suffice.
"Well what if he's cool with it?" he questions hoping he can put in some work to change my mind. "You do know who we're talking about right? Plus don't you have any girls your age to date? I'm pretty sure I see a few of them checking you out over there" I say nodding towards the girls that are clearly eyeing him like a piece of meat. "The girls my age are so immature Noona and they're all so shallow. You're a lot prettier than them, plus I've known you for so long and I've liked you for the longest time" he says deciding to just confess.
"Yeonjun I don't know..." I say not really sure how to respond. "Just give me a chance, please? I'll talk to Jaeyoung and make sure he's cool with it!" he pleads quickly hoping I don't brush him off. "Will you say yes then?" he questions with pleading eyes. "I'll think about it..." I say settling on that for now. "Yes! Thank you Noona I promise you won't regret it!" he says and runs off to what I assume is to find Jaeyoung.
Later that week he comes back to me with his tail between his legs. "He said no didn't he?" I say breaking the ice. "He said it would be weird if I dated his sister and that I wouldn't spend time with him anymore if I did" he relays pouting. "I'm sorry Yeonjun, I'm sure theres a great girl out there for you. Don't worry about me okay? You'll find her one day." I say placing my hand on his shoulder and get up to grab my stuff.
"Where are you going?" he questions with the biggest puppy dog eyes I've ever seen from him. "Aww don't do that! I'm just walking to class, do you wanna walk with me?" I offer hoping this'll perk him up a bit. "Really? Sure!" he says hopping up and taking my bag from me. I try to grab it back but he just holds it up out of my reach and laughs at my attempts of getting it back before I finally concede and just start making my way to the classroom.
As the weeks went by he continued to walk me to that class every time I had it and I've become fond of our little talks on the short journey there. It's strange that my day feels almost incomplete when he isn't able to do it. "Hi Noona!" Yeonjun says sneaking up on me from behind. "Yeonjun don't do that!" I say placing a hand on my chest to steady myself.
"Sorry I didn't mean to, I think you were just spacing out a bit otherwise you definitely would've seen me" he says with a cheeky smile. I roll my eyes and stand up getting ready to walk to my class, with him trailing behind me before he catches me and takes my bag like always. "Is everything okay?" he asks searching my eyes for answers. "Yeah I'm fine I was just thinking about some things and I got a bit carried away" I explain hopefully easing his mind without giving away too much.
"What were you thinking about? Anything I can help with?" he says offering me a small smile. "No it's okay don't worry about it, but thank you Yeonjun. You've been so nice to me even though I rejected you and I don't know why you would do something like that" I say voicing some of my thoughts to him. "I just like spending time with you, but if you want to really thank me then you could come to a party that my friend is having this weekend!" He says adjusting the strap on his backpack.
"Who's party is it?" I question curious as to who might be there. "Just one of my friends on the lacrosse team. Jaeyoung isn't gonna be there" he says quickly hoping to get rid of one of my excuses as to why I shouldn't go. "You can bring a friend if you want! It'll be super chill and we can spend some time together outside of school this time" he says rocking back and forth on the balls of his feet, clearly excited but also nervous as to what my response might be.
"Text me the details and I'll let you know if I'll be able to make it" I settle, not giving him a definitive yes or no. "Okay awesome! I'll text you later?" he questions and I nod at that, taking my bag back from him since we had just reached my class. He smiles at me and walks backwards not wanting to look away from me just yet, clearly excited at the prospect of us finally spending time together other than our short lived journey twice a week. I
wave to him and he waves back right before he bumps into the wall behind him losing his balance for a second. I laugh at his antics and shake my head and walk into class but not before I spare him one more glance and see that despite all of that he's still watching me, waiting for me to walk into class to which I suddenly blush at. 'Wait! Blush? Girl no! Get yourself together, he's your little brother's best friend. He's your friend, stop it' I think to myself shaking off the flustered feeling that started to bloom along with the growing blush on my cheeks.
So that's how it all started, I never thought I would find myself in this position but I can't say that I'm not happy to be here.
"Is that okay?" I hear Yeonjun say, noticing I haven't responded to him since he had offered to continue. "You really don't have to, I didn't do that just because I was expecting you to do the same..." I say trailing off almost feeling a bit shy under his gaze again. "But I want to. Please Noona..." he asks while rubbing circles on my hip with this thumb. "I want to please you" he says while coming back up to me and placing soft kisses all along my neck.
"Let me take care of you" he whispers in my ear and continues to kiss my neck until he hears a sharp inhale from he when he finds a spot that makes my head spin. He licks a long stipe along it and pulls back a bit and blows on it which has me shivering under him.
"So sensitive" he taunts and before I can open my mouth to say something in return he goes back and starts nipping and kissing that spot again. "Yeonjun" I let out in a breathy tone. "Yes Noona?" he says between kisses. "Please" I whimper feeling a sense of need bubble up inside me again. "Please what?" he asks and comes up to give me a deep kiss that leaves me longing for more. "Touch me" I whisper against his lips.
"What would you like me to do?" he says and starts running his hand up and down my outer thigh. I squirm, trying to get some sort of friction as the need between my legs just keeps building. "Slow down baby, I'll take care of you but if you don't use your words then I won't know how" he says in a teasing tone that has me feeling breathless. "I want your fingers" I let out shyly, now feeling myself slip into a more submissive roll.
"See that wasn't so hard" he says and takes the hand that has running along my curves and brings it to my abdomen, letting his fingers trail down slowly which has me wanting to beg. "Please" I let out as he continues to tease me as his fingers slip between my legs but only to run along my inner thigh, continuing his pain staking task. "Patience baby, I got you. Can you keep quiet for me Noona? Just like I did for you?" he questions tilting his head at me and I nod waiting for his touch.
"Good girl" he says with a slight upturn of his lips and then I feel him start to run a finger along my slit. My breath hitches, not expecting the contact so quickly. "Shh Noona, that's not quiet" he says in my ear and takes that chance to bite on it softly. I inhale once I feel him start to rub my clit in languid motions. "You're so wet" he says in my ear once more before pulling back to watch my reactions as he inserts one finger. I close my eyes tight and relish in the feeling I've been craving. He rubs my clit while he continues to pump his finger in and out of me, dragging his finger along my walls to add to the pleasure.
"That's it, good girl" he says satisfied with my reactions, "Breathe Noona" he continues as he's noticed that I'm holding my breath, trying my best to keep myself quiet. Once I take a breath in I'm caught off guard by Yeonjun's mouth against mine as well as feeling another finger inserted. He takes the opportunity to go in for a deeper kiss and I whimper into his mouth from the overwhelming stimulation.
He decides to not mention this one and just swallows all of the sounds I let out as he continues to touch me. He feels me squirming and takes note of how hard I'm clenching around his two fingers that he decided to pull them out, ripping away my building orgasm. I whine at the loss of contact and he chuckles at the sound.
"Seems like you're not very good at keeping quiet Noona, or am I just making you feel too good?" he taunts and goes back to rubbing circles around my clit that is pulsing with need. "Please" I whine losing all sense of self respect, needing to chase that high. "Please what? What do you want?" he taunts, not letting up for a second on his teasing.
"Want your mouth" I pant out feeling that burning sensation building again. "Where do you want it? Here?" he says giving me a kiss. "Down there" I whine and jolt a bit from the feeling of him giving me a quick pinch on my sensitive bud. "Down where? Here?" he says kissing along my collarbone. "Lower" I let out begging for him to hurry. "Here?" he say trailing down my abdomen to my hip, sucking a mark on it and running his tongue along it. "Lower" I let out breathlessly and feel him trace his lips down to the inside of my thigh.
He lifts his head to make eye contact with me and then blows on my cunt and watches as I squirm from the sensation. He places a hand on my hip and growls for me to stay still and I do my best to settle back down. He leans in closer and licks a long stripe along my slit and I swallow a moan that is desperate to come out and throw my head back onto the pillow. "You taste so sweet Noona" he compliments, making me shy.
"Eyes on me" he says while nuzzling his nose into me and nudging against my clit. He takes a second to look down at my cunt before leaning in and kissing my clit, starting his assault there first. He peers back up at me through his lashes and sees that I still have my eyes on him and he sends me a slight smile before speeding up his movements which has me clenching around nothing.
He runs his tongue from my clit to just above my entrance continuing to tease me to which I whine in protest. "Shh you can take it" he says as he inserts his tongue inside my entrance which has me fisting the sheets. He licks and sucks all over my cunt making me whimper not able to swallow this one down.
"You haven't been a very good listener huh?" he says coming back up and giving me a sideways smile. "But I think I wanna hear your pretty moans now, you sound so cute trying to stay quiet. Let me know how good I'm making you feel" he says before going back down to continue
"Fuck, so good. So so good Yeonjun please" I moan out, finding my voice. He continues and replaces his tongue with two of his fingers which has my hip bucking into them unconsciously. He growls against my cunt and the vibration has me gasping for air along with him nipping at my throbbing clit. "Yeonjun, please" I moan begging him for release and he continues to work harder as he feels my walls clenching around his digits and he add another to coax me along.
My vision goes blurry as I feel myself reaching the edge and my legs start shaking showing that I'm seconds from cumming and he knows. He changes pace and pumps his fingers in and out of me at a rapid pace and replaces his tongue on my clit with his thumb and comes up for air and I moan seeing his face covered in my slick as he utters "Cum for me Noona" which sends me over the edge, toes curling, back arching, legs shaking and moans that I don't even recognize all happening at once as I cum around his fingers while he watches and hovers over me.
He pumps his fingers a few more times to help me ride it out and brings his mouth down and cleans me up until I'm whining from overstimulation. He places his fingers in his mouth and savors the last bit of my arousal before he comes up and kisses me so I can taste myself on his tongue. I pull him close to me and roll him over so I can take over the kiss for a minute before dropping back onto my back next to him.
"Fuck" is all I can manage to say while trying to catch my breath, "I told you I could take care of you didn't I?" Yeonjun asks rolling over and propping his head on my chest. "Shut up" I laugh covering my face feeling embarrassed from his close gaze. "Nuh uh no being shy around me Noona, look at me" I do as he asks and he comes closer and gives me a few more lazy kisses and trails them down my neck hoping to get me to relax a bit more. "How are you feeling?" he questions as he feels me start to lose some of the tension in my body. "Fucking fantastic" I respond honestly and he laughs at my honesty.
"Good, now will you please let me take you out?" he asks now sporting some puppy dog eyes hoping to use them to his advantage, "I don't know..." I trail still not sure. "Come on Noona please, we don't have to do anything else if you think you're gonna regret it" he says feeling a bit insecure now. "Yeonjun no, I don't regret anything" I protest, running my fingers through his hair. "We can both go talk to Jaeyoung if that's what you're worried about. Plus you're his older sister so you shouldn't have to listen to him" he says cuddling in closer to me.
"Do you wan't to go out with me?" he questions softly, clearly feeling vulnerable in this position. After taking a moment to think I finally nod and agree. "Let's talk to Jae tomorrow" I suggest and he jumps on me and kisses me all over. "Are you serious?" he says with eyes sparkling in stark contrast of his intense lustful gaze from a few moments ago. I nod my head and he pulls me even closer and we spend the rest of our time together just talking nonsense until the night ends.

Summary: Privacy. Normalcy. Love. Y/n was ready to give all of that up when she became an idol. She was more than happy with the absence of those qualities in her life until a certain six foot mountain of sunshine and chaos was cast opposite her in her first drama. Confronted with the fact that she no longer knows what she wants; Y/n must decide if he’s truly worth giving up the life she’s dreamed of…and how much damage she’ll let happen before she makes a decision.

Third POV
All day Yunho had been anxious. He and Y/n rarely spoke between takes and he did his best to be around but not actively next to her. It was physically killing him being so close and not being able to talk to her. But, the last thing he wanted was to make her uncomfortable. So, he kept his answers short but amiable and made sure that as soon as the director called cut he put a small appropriate amount of distance between him and the girl he so desperately longed for.
“Okay! Last scene for the day! Episode six, scene 35. Places!” Everyone bustled about and got ready to shoot the final scene of episode six. The one that both Y/n and Yunho had been dreading all day.
The two actors went to their respective places on the set. Though they had rehearsed this scene several times before, nothing had actually….happened. Purple and red flashing lights filled the set to imitate the hallway of a nightclub. The sound crew turned on thumping music with a layer of sound over it to make it seem like it was coming from the next room.
Y/n could feel the camera behind her and the man holding the boom mic as well. She tried to shake off her nerves about what she knew was about to happen and get into her character's mindset. Yunho stood a few feet behind her- getting ready to "chase" after the girl from the crowded club. His eyes fell to her hands.
Her fingers, nails painted a dark color, nervously played with the several rings placed by costuming. Was she dreading doing this scene after what he told her? Even with all his efforts to give her space today had she still been uncomfortable? The tall man took in a huge breath only to puff his cheeks and blow it out anxiously as he swung his arms back and forth. Just don't do anything more than what it says in the script, he thought to himself.
"Quiet please! Camera's rolling. Stand by. Mark 'Reality in Heaven' scene thirty-five, take one." The AD called out. Y/n jumped up and down getting her energy up. Her ears attentively listened for the director's cue.
"Action!"
"Action!"
Y/n stormed down the tiny fake hall, her heels clicking on the dark wood. Even from the shot behind, just the tension she had in her shoulders and back- exposed by the top she was wearing- showed the anger her character was feeling.
"Nari! Nari! Wait! Hey- Han Nari!"
Yunho began to chase after her. "Jaeyoung- leave me alone. What the fuck are you even doing here?" Desperately, Yunho grabbed her arm and pulled her to face him. The two stood centered in the small walkway, colored light falling over their faces. Y/n looked up at him, nothing but anger in her eyes. The intensity of her stare made him swallow a lump forming in his throat.
"Where are you going?"
"Far from you."
"Nari-..." She broke away from him, but Yunho reattached his grip to her arm, keeping her from walking much farther. "Look, I didn't mean to pry into your business but-"
"You fucked up my deal, Fish Boy!" Y/n let lose all the anger building in her chest as she yelled at the tall boy.
Slowly, Yunho's hand dropped from her arm and he stared down at the ground. Y/n tried not to let the soft look in his eyes break her focus. "He hit you. What was I supposed to do..."
"Let me pay off my debt."
"By doing what? Getting passed around by his entourage until he decides you've served your purpose?"
Y/n reached up, roughly shoving her palms against Yunho's chest. "It's my life Jaeyoung! Some of us have to do terrible things just to keep existing. Not everything is all pretty and perfect and magical like one of your paintings, Fish Boy!"
She moved to shove him again but Yunho caught her hands and took a step forward, centering the two once again in the small hall. "So, I'm just supposed to sit back and watch?"
"It's none of your business!"
"I don't want to see you get hurt- or killed!"
Throughout the argument, Y/n was slowly building up energy and emotion and she was ready to let loose. They had rehearsed this before but now was the time to fully lose control. Nari was an island. She wanted to believe she didn't need anyone. Despite her growing a soft spot for Jaeyoung, this was her strongest attempt at pushing him away.
"Let me kill myself if that's what it takes, Jaeyoung!" Y/n screamed at the top of her lungs. She had a wild but steady look in her eye. The girl outside of character noticed the music had been turned down to focus on their words and now the near silence weighed heavy.
Yunho couldn't speak. He forgot what he was supposed to say next. What she said felt real for only a split second. Y/n took a step closer until she was only a foot away from him. A few pieces of hair were falling in her face but she didn't seem to notice or care.
The boy was searching his brain for what could possibly be his line. All he could do was stare at her with a sad expression as the girl fumed in front of him. "That's the difference between you and me." This wasn't in the script. It then dawned on Yunho that Y/n was actually saving his ass and improvising. His eyes searched her own, waiting for what she was going to say next.
"I know existing is as good as I'm going to get." She looked him up and down with her brows furrowed. "Don't fool yourself by thinking you can get by doing anything less."
Yunho's expression changed. Y/n felt chills go down her spine with the way he looked at her, completely unwavering. "Existing isn't enough for me."
Loud cheers and laughs came from a little way down the hall but the two actors ignored them. "Then you're more stupid than I thought-"
Y/n's line was cut off by Yunho falling into her. The group of three rowdy extras squeezed past them and pushed the tall man into the girl, pining her against the wall in the cramped passageway. She felt his lips fumble onto hers and both of their eyes met in shock.
Though it was scripted to happen this way, it still felt like a surprise. Y/n knew this would be cut to end here in editing, but the rest of the scene would play at the beginning of the next episode, so it was better to play through. The two stayed that way for a quick moment before Y/n shoved him away from her.
She wiped her lips, before glaring at Yunho. Her heart was beating eight thousand miles a minute in her chest, but she begged for her face and body to not break and reveal everything she as Y/n was feeling.
"What the hell, Jaeyoung? Hey! You son of a bitch- watch where you're going seriously-" She turned her head to yell at the retreating figures but a hand cupped her cheek and pulled her focus in another direction.
Again her speech was cut off, this time by Yunho taking her in his arms and pressing his lips against her own. His brows furrowed as he tried to keep hold of any control he still had. She was intoxicating.
Y/n prayed that her knees didn't buckle from the sheer passion she felt from the tall man holding onto her. It seemed natural the way his hands found a home at her hip while the other slowly slid from her neck into her hair, tugging her closer.
The second she felt herself start to kiss him back she remembered where she was and what she was doing. With as much strength as she could muster (which was not much at the moment) Y/n pushed Yunho away and without missing a beat slapped him across the cheek.
The tall boy backed away and held onto his cheek, looking at the ground. "Don't follow me," Y/n growled before walking down the hall. Yunho stood there, feeling the camera come closer to capture the look on his face.
"And cut! Y/n, great line. Let's keep it and cut that line before for Yunho. That's much better."
Y/n felt her confident air immediately leave her body and with one wrong step, her ankle twisted making her fall down. She let out a short yelp and braced herself, hands coming out in front of her. Yunho's head jolted towards the sound and he rushed to help her up.
"Oh my god- are you okay?"
"Oh yeah. Totally fine. I just uh.... gravity."
Yunho nodded giving her a soft smile before carefully helping the girl up. She expected him to stay but as soon as she was stable Yunho walked away to go check the footage. The girl was for lack of a better word shocked.
She found herself confused and maybe a little angry that after that...intense...moment he just walked away like nothing happened. Didn't he like her? Why was she so pissed that he wasn't paying attention to her? Realization came across her face just as the director called for a reset of the scene. The makeup crew rushed to the two actors and touched up what had been smudged. Y/n let the girls fix her hair and add another layer of tint to her lips. She did nothing as someone handed her a bottle of water and another slipped a mint in her mouth.
She liked Yunho.
It was torture going through the scene over and over again. By take six, Yunho was having an extremely difficult time restraining himself. How many different angles could they possibly need? Y/n's manager was giving him the side eye every time the director called 'cut'. His throat felt dry and he felt like the guy would come over there and punch him any second now.
Y/n was baffled. They'd kiss. She'd slap him. The scene would end, and Yunho would not even look at her. Maybe the girls were right and she really had fucked up by not texting him back. Maybe he didn't even like her anymore.
"Okay, guys that's a wrap for today! Everyone is free to go! We'll meet next week for the next episode shooting." The production assistant announced. Everybody, including all the staff, rushed to pack up. The costume crew had already told the actors before to just leave everything in the dressing room and they would pick it up for dry cleaning in the morning.
"Thank you for your hard work!" Y/n said with a smile as she bowed to all the passing tech crew. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Yunho start to walk off set and towards the hall that lead to the dressing rooms. "Jaebong oppa, I'm going to uh-....go get changed."
He gave her a thumbs up and started to pack up his things. As she turned away the girl hoped no one would notice the near sprint that propelled her towards the, now closing, soundstage door.
As she entered the empty cream-colored hall lined with doors she spotted Yunho further down. "Hey!"
Hearing a voice, the tall idol turned around and was stunned to see Y/n coming at him with a determined look in her eye. "Hi...What's up? Is everything okay?"
Before she could question herself any more than she was already, Y/n twisted the fabric of Yunho's shirt in her hand before yanking him down to her lips. He was shocked, to say the least. She could feel his body freeze under her touch. Embarrassed, she pulled away and rubbed the back of her neck.
"Sorry..."
He was frozen. Literally frozen. He couldn't bring himself to move or even speak. Did that actually happen? That was real right? He mentally cursed at himself as he watched her walk into a dressing room. His brain needed resetting. Yunho raised a hand and slapped himself- hard. Shaking off the daze he raced after Y/n and closed the door behind him.
It was her turn to be surprised by the sight of her counterpart. Her shoes were discarded by the door and all of the jewelry she was previously wearing was on the counter. Her face was illuminated by the bright glow of the bulbs surrounding the mirror. "Oh, did I go into the wrong dressing room- Oh my god! Your face! Did I do that to you?"
Yunho didn't understand what she was saying until he moved forward and looked in the mirror. A huge red welt was forming on his cheek. "Oh shit- uhhh...I mean that's probably like twenty percent you. I'm pretty sure I did that to myself just now."
A tension-filled silence filled the room. A magnetic pull throbs between the two as his gaze locks onto her. Even as Y/n looks away and starts gathering her everyday clothes, his stare remains fully on her. "Yunho, I'm really-"
The words got stuck in her throat as Yunho approached her with adornment in his eyes. He had looked at her like this many times before but this was her first time seeing it. "Okay, well that's not fair."
"What?" He asked with a laugh that turned his eyes to crescent moons.
"You can't just-....oh what the hell," Again Y/n pulled Yunho towards her, slamming her lips on his. This time Yunho responded immediately, large hands brushing hair away from her face before gently trailing over her neck.
Her arms wrapped around him, pulling herself closer to his embrace. Between the feeling of Yunho smiling against her lips and her feet barely touching the ground, she felt like she was floating.
Holding her securely in his arms Yunho lifted her off the ground, lips never once leaving hers. Y/n let out a small yelp feeling herself being backed into a stray chair. Yunho apologized before setting her on the counter with a dopey grin on his face.
Her eyes flicked back down to his pink swollen lips and she slowly pulled him back into a kiss. Yunho's brain turned into chaos when he felt her hands creep into his hair and softly tug at the dark strands. His teeth nipped at her bottom lip and he reveled in the softness of her skin beneath his hands.
The back of Y/n's head rested on the cool, mirrored, glass as Yunho leaned over her and left slow deep kisses on her beautiful lips. Wanting to be even closer to him, Y/n wrapped a leg around him, leaving little space between their bodies.
"Y/n? Hey, Y/n are you almost done?" Jaebong called from outside the door.
Y/n pulled away, trying to ignore the way her heart skipped a beat as Yunho chased after her lips. She then realized the compromising situation they were in. "Oh, shit-...um...." she whispered, sliding past the tall boy, who was still slightly dizzy from the quite passionate make-out session. "Yeah, just a sec!"
The girl rushed around the room, gathering her things. "So..um..." Yunho tried to form words, but his mind was only just now catching up to what had just happened.
"Could you like turn around or something? Just real quick."
He didn't even remember consciously deciding to turn around but he did. Y/n scrambled out of the club costume and into her shirt and shorts. "Y/n?" Jaebong called out.
"Hold on! I'm coming!" Stuffing her clothing into the chair beside Yunho she bolted out of the room, closing the door behind her. The idol leaned against the counter, looking around the room for a few minutes in silence.
"Wait....what?"

Omg someone else who finally writes for ONF??????? AND WITH A DOM READER?? Amazing. Wyatt + begging please omg.... maybe with something where he's on his knees or something 👀
I don’t officially write for ONF... until now. Now I do. Oh no 😰 Warnings: begging, footjob, sort of degradation (but he sees it more as praise lol)
Tumblr media
"Please." Jaeyoung's voice is hoarse, deep and wrecked - he loses his voice so easily that you'd have been concerned if you didn't know from experience that he'd be totally fine tomorrow. His hair has gotten long, hangs into his eyes, so you reach out to tenderly brush it away. He blinks at you in gratitude, eyes wide and dark, shining.
"I feel like you're getting worse at this whole begging thing." You can't help the laugh that escapes you, but he just smiles up at you anyway from his place kneeling in front of you, tilts his head so he can rest his cheek against your knee. He's built, broad in the shoulders, but he's kept his arms carefully folded behind him all the while, always so obedient.
"Sorry." You can tell that he genuinely is, though he doesn't say anything else either, content to just rest next to you even if that meant you weren't touching him at all. It sends a bothersome burst of affection through you, because you want to be strict but it's just so hard when he acts like this.
"You don't sound it, baby." You nudge him with your foot, watch the way he jerks as you come in contact with his cock, still trapped in his underwear. You know he must be absolutely aching, but he just breathes in deep through his nose and forces himself to stay still.
"If you're not going to beg for it, then I'm not going to do anything. You'll have to do the work yourself." His dark gaze meets yours slowly as that sinks in, before he carefully moves to begin rolling his hips against your foot, mouth dropping open and brow furrowing. He's so lovely. "Look at you, humping my leg like some horny little puppy."
It sounds like you're insulting him but he glows at the comment instead, turns his face up towards yours. It's so cute, how intimidating he can look in his everyday life, and how easily that image strips away here with you. Cute. You lean down to press your lips to his own, his hips stuttering against you as he pauses briefly to focus on your lips.

could u do e-tion/wyatt (whoever u think fits best~) and morning? ty 💓💓💓
title: a good morning word count: ~ 980 warnings: mentions of alcohol a/n: i decided to go with wyatt because there’s another e-tion request that i’ll be doing eventually and i want to spread the love !!
one word prompt flash fics; still accepting !
“Minkyun!” you yell into the dark and quiet city street, much to your throat’s protesting soreness. That’s what you get for shouting into the microphone at karaoke. It hadn’t felt like a bad decision at the time, but it certainly feels like you may have been a bit over enthusiastic now. Beside you Jaeyoung catches the strain in your voice, and nudges your side.
“You alright?” Jaeyoung questions with a chuckle. You nod, then gesture ahead to where Minkyun looks like he’s about to fall off the curb of the sidewalk as he continues several strides ahead of you both. “Minkyun, wait up!” he calls on your behalf -- his own voice cracks as he raises his volume to do so. Both of you burst into laughter of shared amusement. It’s funnier than it should be. There’s probably the last remnants of alcohol lingering in your bloodstream to thank for that.
Minkyun half-stumbles into the street, but bounces back quickly, spinning on the sidewalk to look at you two. “You both are so slow!” he complains. And surely, the fact that you’ve both come to a stop to double over laughing doesn’t help. Even as Minkyun shakes his head, there’s a grin on his face. Like he knows something.
“My place is just a block away from here,” he points out, “I can make it from here.”
“Are you sure?” you ask him when you manage to right yourself.
Minkyun insists, and you strain to shout after him to send a text when he reaches his apartment.
That leaves you and Jaeyoung on the sidewalk together, carrying on the path towards your building without taking the detour to drop off Minkyun. As the two of you walk, you reminiscence on the night you’d just passed. Mostly on the foolishness each of you had partaken in. Laughing all over again at remarks made loudly or silly things done, and only some of them to fully blame on drinking.
“Thanks, again,” you say eventually, when the conversation has reached a lull. “I should’ve just said yes from the getgo when you guys invited me out. I’m really glad I went.”
Jaeyoung smiles, familiar lines appearing on his face beside his nose and at the corners of his eyes. “Of course. I’m glad you came, too.”
You want to say more. About how he was the one who convinced you. How quickly you had dismissed the notion of having a fun night out that afternoon, a part of you having already decided you’d rather fester, spend another night scrolling through profiles on tinder to avoid looking over old messages from your ex. How Jaeyoung didn’t let you. How you hadn’t thought of your ex since dinner, and the credit you think might be owed to him for how little protest you put up when Seunghee had grabbed your phone to delete the contact altogether in the 4th bar of the night. You don’t know exactly how to put those things eloquently. But moreover --
“Shit,” you suddenly blurt out after turning the corner onto your block. “Is that the sun?”
Jaeyoung lets out a small, nearly wondrous huh. “Yeah. Yeah, that’s sunrise,” he confirms.
It’s only just beginning. Peeking out from between the tall gray buildings is a sliver of yellow at the horizon, with stains of deep orange around it. Shades of pink strike the bottom of clouds, and give way to the pale blue sky.
Dumbfounded, you pull your phone out to check the time. 5:56. Does this mean you have a time record of how long it takes to get over a breakup now?
“I didn’t even realize it was getting light out,” Jaeyoung confesses. You nod in agreement and slip your phone back into your pocket.
“We stayed out later than I thought.”
“We stayed out earlier than I thought,” he tries, and it is enough to make you chuckle and look at him instead of the colorful sky. With Jaeyoung in this lighting, a feeling suddenly strikes you. Not a new feeling. It’s one that had bubbled up all night, with quick glances over clinking glasses and through brushing shoulders laughing. No, not a new feeling at all. Rather, the term for the feeling suddenly dawns upon you.
“There might be a good view of it from my balcony.”
“You have it in you to stay up and watch the sunrise?” Jaeyoung sounds skeptical. “I’m gonna be lucky if I don’t fall asleep as soon as I sit down on the bus.”
“Then come up with me,” you offer. “That way you can at least have a pillow if you’re going to pass out.”
“Ah -- I don’t want to impose.” He turns awkward, as if you’d suggested something absurd. You laugh and reach out to place a hand on his arm.
“It’s the least I can do, really.” After you give a reassuring pat above his elbow, your hand slips downwards, but before it can fall away entirely, an impulse overtakes you. Your hand brushes against his, fingers only just beginning to curl.
Maybe it’s just instinct that has him responding by interlacing your fingers with his. It’s hardly the first time the two of you have held hands. Still, there’s a vibrancy to it that’s newly discovered, or newly defined. You’re having trouble sorting it all out at once. You only know you hope that he’ll say yes, if only to spend a little longer together.
“If you’re sure.”
“I’m sure. Don’t be silly.”
He objects to his concerns being silly, and follows you inside your building.
Neither of you make it to see the sky turn fully blue. Once you reach your apartment, it’s far more tempting to plop down on your couch together and murmur about making coffee before falling asleep right there, side by side; your head upon his shoulder and hands woven together.

repeat until death | na jaemin
Tumblr media
repeat until death | na jaemin
genre: smut, angst, best friend’s brother au
pairings: jaemin x f. reader
word count: 13.2k
synopsis: How do you prevent a tragedy? If you knew the events that would occur beforehand, would there be anything you could do to stop it? You used to believe in destiny, back when all it entailed was love and happy endings, but now you were skeptical. Because the world couldn’t possibly write something so cruel.
rating: 18+ NSFW WARNINGS UNDER THE CUT
here it is! my submission for the Star Cross’d collab under @neosmutcollective. please make sure to check out the other works as well! tracking is under the #nscstarcrossd tag.
warnings: death, tragedy, loss, depression, anxiety, kissing, language, unprotected sex, creampie there are many potentially triggering topics in this fic, and it is meant for mature audiences. please do not read if you are easily affected by mentions of death and the process of coping with it.
There were three rules to being Na Jaeyoung’s best friend.
One, you can never unfriend her.
Two, you cannot lie or keep secrets from her.
Three, and maybe the most important of them all, you are not allowed to fall in love with her older brother. Na Jaemin is off limits.
Off limits until you can’t hold yourself back. Until life and death separate a promise made before you could even fathom how hard you could fall for someone else. They say the right people will always walk into your life, and you liked to believe that you were destined to meet the Na’s.
But you never knew it would come to this. They always talk about when they come in, but never when they walk out.
“Mom, we’re home!” Jaeyoung called through the front door, kicking her shoes off. You’d both been friends for so long that it felt like a second home now. You even knew where all of their dishes sat in the kitchen cupboards. Before you could even think about making your sweaty self presentable after the sweltering walk back to her neighborhood, a figure walked in from the kitchen.
“She’s not here,” Jaemin said, passing the two of you with a homemade brownie in hand. “Oh, hey Y/n,”
“Hi,” you managed to force out, flustered. Jaemin always made you so embarrassingly nervous.
Jaeyoung rolled her eyes from beside you.
“Okay, then don’t bother us. We’re going to my room,” she announced. Jaemin cared so little, he didn’t even respond as he collapsed onto the couch. Jaeyoung grabbed your hand and dragged you up the stairs, huffing so quietly you couldn’t hear it over the deafening beat of your heart.
Her room was silent when the door closed. It didn’t stay like that for long.
“Do you like my brother?” Jaeyoung blurted out, her accusation making you pause. How did she know? Were you that obvious? If you were, then did Jaemin see it too?
Jaeyoung didn’t let you respond before she continued.
“It’s so annoying,” she complained, dropping her bag onto the floor by her desk before sitting into the chair. “It’s like I can’t have any friends without them liking Jaemin. You know what Hina told me? She said that Luna only invited me to her birthday party because she was hoping I would invite her to mine. So she could see Jaemin,”
The longer Jaeyoung ranted to you the guiltier you felt. In sixth grade, her juvenile problems overshadowed any measly little crush you had.
“I’m sorry,” you whispered, your eyes cast down in shame. A part of you wondered why it was such a crime to like someone, but apparently she had control of your feelings concerning her brother. Your mind strayed to one of the two rules she had established back in elementary school.
You can’t keep any secrets from her.
“Yeah, I like him. Not a lot though. You know Sungchan? He got cuter over the summer, don’t you think?”
You always said all the right things to her, even if they weren’t true. But lies were okay, if they covered the ones that would make her upset. Rules weren’t concrete like that.
“Just promise me you’ll stop liking him. Promise me you’ll always be mine, not his,”
She added another rule that day. One you would never come to understand.
“I promise,”
~
Between you and Jaeyoung, she was always the popular one. So much so that some people knew you not by name but simply ‘Jaeyoung’s friend’. Just like she was known as ‘Jaemin’s little sister’. There was no label for him, though. He was at the top of the food chain.
It was a dynamic you had grown used to over the years, and while it used to bother you, it didn’t cross your mind much anymore. Until today.
“Prom is tonight, Y/n. You seriously don’t have time to find a date,” Jaeyoung chastised, sitting on the worn pink rug on her bedroom floor. You were sprawled across her mattress, face down into the sheets in defeat.
“I know, Jaeyoung. But it’s not like I have that many guys pining over me to go with them,” you replied, your words muffled. This sad predicament had been on your mind for so long that you didn’t have the energy to cry about it anymore.
“It’s okay, you can just tag along with Jaehyun and I if you want,” she chirped, her mood significantly brightening at the new topic of interest.
Right, because I totally want to third wheel to prom with my best friend and her hot, college sophomore date.
“Maybe I just won’t go,” you sighed, flipping yourself over and onto your back. Jaeyoung’s ceiling was suddenly the most interesting thing you’ve ever seen.
“You’ll change your mind,” Jaeyoung sighed, flopping down beside you. “I know you will,”
She was wrong. For the most part, you guessed.
Two hours and a constant internal debate later, you were sitting on Jaeyoung’s bed watching her as she shimmied into her dress and observed herself in the mirror.
“It’s a bit scratchy, but I can handle it,” Jaeyoung commented, twirling her body around. Your snug sweatpants and the unoccupied dress hanging from her closet were a firm reminder of your decision.
“Beauty is pain,” you joked, a smile plastered onto your face. Her excitement excited you, and that was enough. “What time is he going to pick you up?”
“Ten minutes from now,” she replied, glancing at the clock. Jaeyoung reached up and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, something she always did when she was nervous. You’d met Jaehyun before, and although he wasn’t necessarily her boyfriend, you had a feeling that would change once graduation came around. You had an inkling Jaeyoung was going to be in for a romantic summer.
“Well, you look beautiful, Jaeyoung,” you sighed. Your best friend turned to look back at you, her dolled up eyes sparkling.
“She sure does,” a voice spoke.
It was hard not to recognize him, even from a glance. You’d committed his entire being to memory from afar all these years. Jaemin stood in the doorway, his black hair tousled messily like it always was. He was smiling widely at his sister, who had gasped, with a singular, measly balloon floating above his head reading ‘PROM!’. Your heart froze as you watched him enter, giving Jaeyoung a big bear hug as he laughed.
Jaemin was back.
“I thought your flight got delayed!” Jaeyoung cried incredulously, but Jaemin only shrugged as he backed away.
Why didn’t Jaeyoung tell you he was flying in today?
“It looks like I made it just in time,” he shrugged. He glanced at you, confusion subtly flashing across his face. Jaemin looked like he was about to say something, maybe greet you, before a voice rang up the stairs and the doorbell chime echoed through the house.
“Oh no, he’s early!” Jaeyoung cried, scrambling to shove a few essentials into her small handbag before dashing out the door. She didn’t spare you a glance in the midst of her frenzy.
You and Jaemin both watched her leave, and the room fell under a cloak of awkward silence. You could feel his stare from across the room, and you knew how odd this may have appeared. You looked down into your lap, hoping he would just leave. He did the opposite, though. Shocker.
“Are you not going?” Jaemin asked, his eyes watching you though he didn’t move a hair closer. If anything, the answer was pretty obvious. Your silence was answer enough, and he sighed before leaving the room altogether. Good job, Y/n.
You wished you could say it wasn’t always like this, but there was no Jaemin if Jaeyoung wasn’t involved. In a way, it was his sister’s doing, but you didn’t know how to handle being around him. And so you were always the awkward little-sister's-best friend with a veil of girlish sheepishness you could never shake, her old words ringing through her head over and over.
“Promise you’ll always be mine, not his,”
You weren’t sure how long it had been, and the entire night could’ve passed when Jaemin walked back into the room and you nearly voiced out loud how much you wanted him to leave you alone. You were upset and vulnerable right now because of this situation and the last thing you wanted to do was cry in front of him.
So you continued looking down without a word.
“Y/n,” Jaemin spoke with caution, hesitation laced through his words in a tone you had never heard from him before. Especially because you were always around him when he was around his family, you’d always seen the lax, nonchalant side of him. Jaemin never seemed to care about anything.
But you lifted your head slowly, finally looking him in the eye, and he was pleading.
He was wearing a simple black tuxedo, his hair the same mess it always was. It didn’t complete the look, but it was so uniquely him that it didn’t matter much.
Jaemin was holding his hand out to you.
“Would you like to go to Prom with me?” he whispered, your eyes darting between his face to his hand to his clothes, with barely the capacity to comprehend that this was actually happening.
“Jaeyoung wouldn’t want me to,”
You hated that that was the first thing you thought of saying. You could see in his expression that he felt the same. Jaemin kept his hand out stubbornly, his eyes boring into yours.
“I don’t want you to miss out on this, Y/n. And if you going out to have fun on your prom night can’t spare Jaeyoung’s feelings, then I’m willing to take the fall with you,”
He’d been back in town for less than two hours and he’d already made a ruckus. Jaemin knew this might blow up in his face, but when he looked at yours and saw the pain behind the mask made for his sister, he knew he wouldn’t be able to walk away without regret.
And so you placed your hand in his, and committed your favorite crime.
~
It was hard to say you were fashionably late when it was clear in your appearance that you had just thrown on your dress and slapped some minimal makeup on your face. You hadn’t had time, though, so you hoped everyone would be looking at Jaemin instead as you clutched his arm on the way inside. His parents had gone on one of their biweekly evening walks, so Jaemin saw it as a perfect opportunity to snatch the keys and race off with you in their car.
The gymnasium looked completely different, decorated to be like stepping foot into another realm outside from the darkly lit parking lot outside. The theme this year was Under the Stars, very cliche, but it came out much better than you thought it would. And before you could admire the atmosphere any longer, you were interrupted by a familiar face.
“Y/n! You’re here. I was beginning to think you weren’t showing up, especially when Jaeyoung showed up without you,”
Luna was this year’s class president and prom coordinator, and although she always alluded to positivity, you could see through her sometimes. Like now, in particular, as she glanced at your date and nearly let her grimace slip through.
“Hello! You’re Jaemin, right? Jaeyoung’s brother. I’m actually a really good friend of hers,” Luna introduced, although you both knew she knew exactly who Jaemin was. But, Jaemin being Jaemin, he introduced himself obliviously. Despite the anxieties of the consequences of running into Jaeyoung, you couldn’t help but stand there proudly holding onto Jaemin’s arm. For what it’s worth, every girl would be jealous of you tonight, even if you were one of the hopeless piners yourself.
“Now, if you’ll walk over here and stand on this X, yes, perfect, we’ll be taking your picture,”
Luna pointed at the man standing behind the camera and signalled for you two to smile, and you twisted your body awkwardly in his hold. You were sure you looked frazzled from behind the lens but Jaemin threw out a playful “Cheese!” that brought laughter out of you. Luna clapped her hands together and snatched the copies from the photo printer. You watched her observe them for a second before Jaemin took them from her, missing the squint in his eyes.
Jaemin handed one to you and looked down at the other, bringing it closer to his face under the dim lighting. Jaemin’s heart melting smile was on display, a strand of black hair in his eyes, and beside him, encased in his arms, you were smiling widely with your eyes scrunched up in laughter.
“Oh no, I look horrible,” you whined, trying to snatch Jaemin’s copy away, but he was already giggling and stuffing it into his pants pocket. You groaned as he grasped your hand in his.
“You look cute,” Jaemin giggled, turning to lead you deeper into the crowd in time to miss the lovesick look on your face. You turned to wave goodbye to Luna, but she was already gone.
It was still hard to fathom that you were here with Jaemin, even as he caught the eye of everyone you passed to reassure you he was the one leading you through the sea of bodies. You couldn’t help but feel insecure. And as Jaemin stopped near the back corner of the venue where there were less wandering eyes, he noticed that something was off.
“What’s wrong?” he asked, leaning back against the blue paper-covered wall and finally letting go of your hand. His infectious smile was beginning to fall.
“I’m sorry you have to go to a highschool prom with your sister’s best friend,” you sighed, joining him in leaning of exhaustion and shame. Your eyes were scanning the crowd, subconsciously searching for the sister in question, but soon your vision was obstructed and you found yourself staring into the same intense eyes you knew too well.
“Who was the one that dragged you here?” Jaemin questioned, his tone frustrated. He was trying to convey something to you for you to understand, and clearly you didn’t seem to get it. His arm was supporting his body on the wall behind your head, caging you in. “I wanted to bring you here, Y/n. Whether you’re very happy about it now or not, I know you will be tomorrow morning. And if not then, then when college starts. Or maybe even 50 years from now when you’ll start realizing that you don’t owe Jaeyoung anything anymore,”
The last sentence came out without Jaemin even thinking about it, and it shocked the both of you. Jaemin huffed, his head dropping toward the ground.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean that,” he sighed.
I just don’t want you to hide from me for a lifetime.
His subconscious had a palm to his mouth. Jaemin said it, almost.
“You know, the whole point of a school dance is to, well, dance, right?” Jaemin suddenly chirped up, his head raising once again, his demeanor shifting in seconds. Your sudden anxiety from the suggestion distracted you from the change.
“I can’t dance,” you whined, trying to withstand the force he was tugging you toward the dance floor. Not only did you not want to embarrass yourself with your lack of skills, you also didn’t want to leave the security of the corner you were in. Being out in the open like this left too much room for Jaeyoung to spot you.
“Too bad. Dancing is just moving to music, and I’m pretty sure you can move, Y/n,” Jaemin argued.
Yeah, Jaemin did actually want to get you to dance, but he also wanted to get himself out of that little moment before he said something really stupid.
The DJ was playing an upbeat, lyricless song that most of the dancers were jumping along to, and you silently wondered how the girls could possibly get in the air in their heels. You were wobbling enough as it is.
Jaemin took both your hands in his and spent twice the effort dancing for the both of you, pulling you along to the beat. He admired the way your dress shone under the fluorescent blue lighting. A smile was slowly beginning to creep up your face, and that was enough.
Two songs in and your walls had been torn down by Jaemin, your body moving carelessly along with his as he showed off all his questionable moves. He had you laughing hysterically, body hunched as he mildly impressed you with his body rolls and overexaggerated facial expressions. He sent you a final wink as he bowed with the outro of the song, laughing in that endearing way where he would clap his hands like a seal.
But then the music changed. The lights dimmed and everything slowed for a moment, the night winding down to an end. It was the moment everyone had been waiting for. The slow song.
They changed it abruptly and without warning, as if they wanted to see how everyone would react. In your own little world, you and Jaemin’s eyes met, and even with the racing anxiety in you, there was nothing stopping you from wrapping your arms around his neck. Jaemin had the ghost of a smile on his face, his features trying to be serious as he snaked his hands to the dip of your hips. His hands were big as they ran rampant on your curves, sending chills up to the top of your head.
With your growing confidence tonight, and the way he didn’t hold back with his grazes, you found it in yourself to touch his nape, your fingers hesitating to reach into his hair until he tilted his head to the side and leant into your touch. He hummed as you wound your fingers through the soft strands, his head knocking forward until your foreheads touched, his eyes closed. Your breath caught in your throat and you were sure he noticed, but he didn’t say anything as you continued the slow sway to the piano in the background.
This may have been the closest you’ve ever been to Jaemiin. It was quite amazing, really, that you’d known this boy all this time, yet the history books of you and him were blank.
“Aren’t you glad you came?” he asked, his eyelashes fluttering. You could barely find it in yourself to respond, not when he was in front of you like this. You were on a one way trip down the hole in your heart designated for him and your unfeasible infatuation.
“Yeah,”
Below your restricted line of sight, Jaemin smiled bigger than he had all night, because all he wanted for you right now was to be happy. To enjoy one of the last moments of your senior year with him, wait, without Jaeyoung. Just for the night, or even just for a moment, something could finally be yours to keep.
And for a moment, you forgot about Jaeyoung, and Luna, and everyone else really but Jaemin. He was all you could see, feel, you were surrounded by him and it was inescapable. After tonight, you’d never want to go back to the way things used to be.
But you’d never had a choice before, so why did you ever think that would change? Because you were in love, and you were naive. You thought you were invincible, and that everyone else around you was, too.
“You’re fucking kidding,”
You shot away from Jaemin so fast he barely had time to register it, his tight grip on your waist trailing with you until he stumbled a bit forward. Your eyes somehow tracked her down immediately, your guilt-ridden face finding Jaeyoung’s just a few feet away. Even with your best friend right in front of you, all you could comprehend was the music still playing and how upset you were that you didn’t even get to finish the song.
“I must be imaging this right now,” Jaeyoung scoffed, her eyes wild behind her pretty face. Was she really this upset?
“I brought her here, Jae,” Jaemin cut in, stepping a bit in front of you. It was the first mistake made that night.
“No, no, really. This is all a joke, right?” Jaeyoung cried, looking between the two of you. Betrayal was written across her face and you should’ve known this would happen. Jaeyoung was nothing if not true to her beliefs. If you thought for a second that she would be happy for you, seeing you enjoying the night instead of wallowing alone, you were wrong.
You were so fucking wrong.
“You promised,” Jaeyoung whispered, her initial anger fizzling. Despite how happy you felt before, and how little you understood her resentment, you still found the guilt setting in as you realized how upset your best friend was over this. You never knew the consequences would be to this degree, because all this time, you’d complied.
“Calm down, Jaeyoung,” Jaemin muttered, observing the influx of attention towards her little scene. Mistake number two.
“Give me the keys,” Jaeyoung demanded. You glanced at Jaemin, doubting if he would really do it.
You didn’t notice then that she was alone. You didn’t realize then that Jaehyun wasn’t with her anymore.
“Give me the keys, Jaemin,” she said again, her tone calmer yet sharper than before. Jaemin reached into his pocket and placed the car keys in her hand.
It was the final nail in a coffin that shut in silence. You should say something. Why couldn’t you say anything to her?
But would you have sacrificed your happiness for her? For the umpteenth time? You’d never know. No one would. Because Jaeyoung stormed out before you could even try to defend yourself. You stepped forward to follow her, but Jaemin grabbed your arm and pulled you back. He shook his head at you, and you listened. Maybe that was the third mistake. Strike out.
They say the right people will always walk into your life. But they never talk about when they walk out.
Jaeyoung walked out that night, and whether it would’ve been for good or not on any other day, it was for good that night. Because destiny was cruel.
The call came an hour later. You wished it never did. Your shoulder was brushing against his as you sat on the curb of the sidewalk when Jaemin’s phone rang.
“Jaemin, are you and Y/n still at the school?” his mother spoke, Jaemin’s phone on speaker as you both looked at each other. It was the last time you’d ever meet his eyes without seeing your monsters. If only you knew then to engrave it into your memory.
You didn’t know anything that night. It was heaven just a moment ago, why did things have to change?
“Yeah, why?” he asked. She sounded so distraught, you already knew there was something wrong. You just never thought it would be the truth.
“She’s--” her voice got caught in a sob, choking her.
“Who? Jaeyoung?” Jaemin spoke, his voice getting more frightened each second that passed as you both waited for her to find her voice again.
“She’s been in an accident. You need to come home,”
The phone dropped to the ground. What a cruel, cruel world it was.
~
“Come on, Y/n! We don’t have much time!” Jaeyoung called to you, her long legs taking steps that dwarfed your own. You had your growth spurt a bit later than everyone else, and in the eighth grade, that made you significantly shorter than your best friend.
Your hand was clasped in hers as she dragged you through the crowd. She knew where your families were, waiting for the two of you to come back from a trip to the ice cream stand. People were standing, some settled on blankets atop the grass, everyone looking up toward the town’s clocktower. You two had one minute.
“Jaeyoung, over here!” It was Jaemin. He was in ninth grade at the time, and to you, that meant he was officially out of your league. High schooler Na Jaemin was too cool to hang out with a middle school girl. Especially if she was his little sister’s best friend.
“Did you get your ice cream?” your mother asked the two of you, and you both gave a thumbs up in unison. The gesture was followed up with a chorus of synchronous, girlish giggles just as the countdown began.
10!
You and Jaeyoung missed the first number, but now you've caught up.
9!
Jaeyoung nudged your shoulder.
8!
She pointed at the colorful lights above your heads.
7!
A chill breeze blew past, and you held your jacket tighter around your body.
6!
Jaemin playfully reached over to try and cover Jaeyoung’s eyes.
5!
She slapped his hand away with a laugh.
4!
Jaemin stole a glance at you, your wide eyes scanning the dark sky in anticipation.
3!
You didn’t notice.
2!
Jaeyoung wrapped an arm around you and held you close.
1!
Fireworks exploded before your very eyes, a flurry of cold fire and blazing color. You’d never seen something so beautifully chaotic, the noise ringing through your ears. If you could dream long enough, you would stay in this moment forever.
But dreams weren’t forever, and no matter how hard you tried to run towards them, you would only look back and see a world where Jaeyoung was no longer there.
------------------------------
Nothing felt like anything anymore. It was all a blank void in which you lived without really being alive. Everyone pitied you. That might’ve been the worst part. You didn’t want their pity, you just wanted her back.
You wished it were some miracle story, the ones you hear in the news where the teen girl gets hospitalized and makes an earth shattering recovery, one where people send their thoughts and prayers to her and it actually works. You could think about that night, all those weeks ago, but it was too painful. So you didn’t.
It was a story so heartbreaking you played it over and over again in your head. She swerved away from a deer in the road. The car was reported to have wrapped around a tree trunk. Jaeyoung died upon impact.
She always loved animals. More than anything, she had wanted to be a veterinarian. Fuck animals. They didn’t deserve her. And fuck deers, while we’re at it.
Graduation passed by unceremoniously. You didn’t attend, and you only heard the stories. They showed her picture, apparently.
Fuck them.
You slept whenever you could. It was the only way you could escape the world you didn’t want to be a part of anymore. You felt her absence everywhere, even in your dreams. You didn’t go by her house anymore, her car sat still in their driveway, the clothes she had forgotten still sat in your drawers. But despite how frozen her reality became, it didn't mean shit to everyone else’s reality.
You almost envied her. Almost, but you would never say it out loud. You could barely even think it. But, she really was lucky in her own morbid way. She didn’t have to stay behind and harness the pain you felt. The pain her parent’s felt. And, you were sure, the pain her brother felt.
Jaemin hadn’t been around since that night. It’s been days now.
The days turned into weeks, the weeks to months, and soon enough all your classmates were flying away on airplanes while you sat in the room you were a part of now. You were just another pillow on the bed.
It’s just a gap year. People take a year off before college all the time.
Avoiding was all you did now.
You found ways to cope. Besides wasting away in your room, you found a new passion for puzzles. It sounds boring, sure, but there was a certain calm you got out of putting the last remaining piece in its place, completing the picture in just the way it was destined to. There were no mistakes, no broken edges, and no pieces lost. It can’t go on without a single piece. Not in the perfect world of puzzles.
In your small town there were little places to turn to. Little people to talk to without them knowing. Jaeyoung’s accident was one of the most detrimental things to happen this year, and thus, it trailed you no matter where you went.
But today, you decided to be brave. For Jaeyoung.
You didn’t know what sparked the idea or the motivation, but you got yourself up off your bed and grabbed the keys from the tired, hardworking hanger. They hadn’t left their place in months.
What you didn’t anticipate was the fear of getting inside a car. Muscle memory failed you as your hands shook around the car, pushing your keys inside and shifting the gear. It was now or never, you told yourself. You’d already asked your mom to pick up the bouquet for you, so that left only one stop. And off you went.
The thing you hated about going out now was seeing the bustling lives of the world around you. It didn’t make sense how your world could be falling apart at the seams while everyone else seemed fine. Well, not fine, maybe stressed about the coffee line in the morning, or rushing on their lunch break, but it was all the little things. The kind of things that didn’t block your airways everytime you thought about it. Thought about them.
You focused your eyes straight forward, concentrating on getting yourself to your destination. The engine’s low hum was mesmerizing, the soundtrack to your journey outside again. Strangely, and sadly, a car ride would never be just a car ride anymore.
When you made it to your destination, you pulled to the side of the road and let your car run for a while as you calmed yourself in your seat. You hadn’t even taken your seatbelt off yet, considering simply driving off and never coming back.
But then you thought about your best friend, and you knew you had to get out of your car. Whether you wanted to or not.
The winds were high today and the sun was already making its descent in the later half of the day, trees stretching beyond you on either side. They were tall, haunting pine trees that looked more alive the longer you paid attention to them. And on the right shoulder, just beyond the road in a divet you would’ve never noticed otherwise, was Jaeyoung.
Well, just her face on a big poster staked into the ground.
You were content staring down at your bunch of white roses as you approached, your feet tiptoeing around the mess of flowers and notes nestled in the grass. You wondered how many people had visited the spot in the past months. You wondered who they were. If they really knew Jaeyoung like you did.
Condolences, Fly High, We’ll Miss You. Cards you would find in the grievance section of the card aisle in the grocery store. Right next to the Happy Birthday and 50th Anniversary messages. Maybe they could play music, too.
Your card was in your head. Written in your heart, but not ready to be shared. You’d come here with this grand plan to pour your heart out to her, if she was listening, and if not, to the tree trunk standing proudly oblivious to the tragedy.
But all you could do was set the flowers down nicely, and walk back to your car.
~
“Y/n, honey,” a voice called from outside your door, and you shut your laptop screen playing the show you knew you wouldn’t finish. It was your mom as she opened the door and peeked through the crack. “Your father and I are going out to dinner tonight with the Na’s. If you--want to come, then you’re fully welcome to,”
You didn’t miss the hesitating pause in her sentence, and while they tried their best to act like everything was normal, you knew your parents were growing tired of your detachment. Just because Jaeyoung’s parents lost their daughter, didn’t mean they had to lose theirs too.
“Maybe,” you replied. She clearly didn’t like your answer. “Is Jaemin going to be there?”
“Would you go if he was?”
What a loaded question. Would you? Why did you even ask? A part of you, more than you cared to admit, wanted to blame him. If only you hadn’t let him convince you into going, if only he hadn’t given her the keys and let Jaeyoung drive when she was so upset. If only he wasn’t so addicting.
But you still thought about him. Everyday. You wondered how he was doing, when he was going to leave for college again. There were a lot of things you wanted to say to him, and for him to say to you.
“I’ll let you decide. We’re leaving in an hour,” was the last thing she said before your mom closed the door once again.
When was the last time you went out to eat? Was it your cousin’s birthday dinner six weeks ago? You thought so. It would be a lie to say you really wanted to go.
But you knew you should. Your pain must’ve been nothing compared to what Jaeyoung’s parents felt, and that was enough to get you out of your bed.
“It’s so nice to see you guys,” your dad greeted, sitting down beside Jaeyoung’s father as you and your mother followed suit. The couple had gotten to the restaurant a bit earlier than the three of you, already seated at the table.
Two empty chairs remained. No one said anything about it.
“It feels like it’s been forever,” her mother said, and it was the truth. It had been forever. You used to see them every week.
If you tuned everything out and shut your eyes, it’d be just like any other night. Jaeyoung would be sitting beside you, playing with her straw wrapper as the adults talked about college tuition and politics. Maybe Jaemin would’ve been there too, studying the menu for far too long trying to settle the indecisiveness in his head.
But that’s what separated you from the adults. They got straight to the point. No sugarcoating, and no avoiding.
“We’re holding the funeral in two weeks,” Jaeyoung’s dad spoke, a cloud of grief looming over the table. “And we’d like to ask you all for some help in the planning,”
“Of course,” your mom agreed, immediately. So composed. So compassionate. Your parents were here to be there for her parents, not for you.
You sat silently as they discussed. They talked about the budget, the venue, the list of attendees. It would be a smaller service, consisting of family and friends. The dress code wouldn’t be black, they didn’t want it to be sad. It was to be a celebration of life.
“And, if it’s not too much to ask, Y/n,” At the mention of your name you finally drew yourself back into the conversation, having pushed it further aside the longer it dragged on. “We’d like you to speak at the service,”
Your heart dropped. That was quite possibly the last thing you’d ever want to do. How would you ever be able to stand up in front of all those people, all of whom knew Jaeyoung, and force words out of your mouth? What would you even say? Would it be appropriate to apologize, because that’s all you’d ever wanted to say to your best friend since that night. That you were so fucking sorry.
“I can’t,” you whispered, before you could even think about replying. Your parent’s faces dropped.
“Y/n, they’re asking you for this one thing. Jaeyoung would want you to speak--”
“I’m sorry,” you muttered, standing up from your seat. You’d only made it to the complimentary bread. Looking back, you were surprised you even sat there that long. You couldn’t stand the looks in their eyes.
You weaved through the tables, dodging waiters and heading out the back exit. You didn’t know where you were going. Anywhere from there.
“Y/n?” a voice called. You hated how you recognized it immediately. You ignored Jaemin’s calls as you fled, away from the truth and away from the boy who would always remind you of her. Your ears were ringing when he grabbed your arm.
“Where are you going?” he asked, and he cupped your face in his hands and forced you to look at him. When did you start crying? You only realized when the image of his face came back blurry through your tears.
You ripped your face away from his touch. It burned your skin. But not like it used to, no. This wasn’t a good burn. Your skin was in pain and all you wanted to do was escape from his flame.
Jaemin must’ve been around the back of the restaurant for a while. Your eyes darted to the place where he had been standing beside the door, a bottle of some cheap, drugstore alcohol sat open on the ground. You frowned in distaste. For the split second he let his guard down as he noticed your judgement, you turned on your heel and walked away once again.
“Y/n, y/n wait,”
Fuck. You stopped, but you didn’t turn around. His voice had grown small now, defeated, and he was pleading with you this time. He wasn’t ordering you, he wasn’t scolding you.
“Just let me drive you home, please. I drank two sips from that beer, I promise,”
“Why?” you cried, your face scrunching in pain out of his view. He knew how painful this was, right? “I really don’t want to right now, Jaemin,”
“I can’t-” he paused, and you glanced over your shoulder to see the tears in his eyes. “I can’t let you walk away without knowing you get home safe. Not anymore. Just let me drive you home,”
The car ride back was silent, the tears drying on his cheeks as they flowed down yours. Jaemin got a new car, you noticed. You both didn’t address the half empty pack of beer in the backseat.
When he pulled into your empty driveway no words had been exchanged still, and you surely weren’t going to say something first, so you got out and didn’t look back. Only when you closed the front door shut did you hear his engine run once again.
Car rides were never just car rides anymore. It was the first time you’d seen Jaemin in three months.
~
Jaemin couldn’t stop thinking about you. Not for a second. And that was the undeniable, heartbreaking truth.
He thought about turning his car around that day he dropped you off. Would you have answered the door if he knocked? Would you have nursed his heart like he wanted you to?
He dropped out of college. It wasn’t his proudest moment, and his parents definitely weren’t happy about it, but in a way, he could see the relief they felt with him in the house again. Jaemin didn’t know if they would’ve been able to handle an empty house. That wasn’t to say he was always home. Jaemin spent his nights out late these days, with no company. He was always alone, doing something useless with his time, because who was there to tell him to get on with his life?
He blamed himself a lot, when things got really fucking bad. And then he’d feel like the air was gone around him, and he couldn’t breathe. Jaemin knew he did a lot of things wrong that night, but it was done now. Now, he had a new problem on the horizon. You.
He didn’t even know what the hell he had been caught up in not to call you. Jaemin knew he should’ve checked up on you, and that’s what made him regret it even more.
He tried to drown it out with the alcohol, but he’d grown immune to it by now.
He didn’t expect to walk into his house four days later and see you sitting there in his living room. Was he dreaming? He heard voices from the kitchen, one he recognized as your mother’s, but all he could see was you. Your eyes were squeezed shut and your hands were in fists by your sides, and Jaemin felt a rush of anger through him. The adults could be so clueless sometimes. How could they not see you here, suffering?
A vague voice in the back of his mind told him that maybe he shouldn’t have, but he stormed up to you and grabbed your arm. You were jolted up by the contact, but Jaemin ignored it as he pulled you up and toward the door.
“Where are we going?” you hiccuped, eyes looking everywhere but the lonely car in the driveway. Jaemin was silent in his anger, leading you toward his car near the sidewalk and guiding you in.
He drove to the first place he could think of.
Him and Jaeyoung would come here a lot when they were kids, a field on the western outskirts of town. It was where they held the annual fireworks show to mark the beginning of each new year. It was empty this time around, which Jaemin wanted.
He didn’t wait for you as he got out of the car and strolled a few steps forward, scanning the endless sight of grass before him. You followed him moments later, sticking your side to the door of his car as you watched him, waiting. He had brought you here, and you wanted to know why.
“Why aren’t you going to college?” he asked. You swallowed, your body caving inward as the wind blew past you. You barely had legs to stand on anymore.
“Gap year,” you answered, short and simply. You hated that he sounded disappointed when he was standing here on a September evening too. “There’s nothing out there for me anymore,”
“You should’ve left this town,” he murmured, so quietly you wondered if he was really talking about you anymore. Regret was laced in his voice. Frustration simmered in you. If he was so knowledgeable on what’s good for you, why couldn’t he figure it out for himself?
“There’s nothing out there for me anymore,”
Jaemin sighed, leaving his distant position to round the car. He didn’t look at you as he approached you, but soon he was right in front of your face and you couldn’t ignore now how hurtful your words must’ve been.
And then his arms wrapped around you, and you felt even worse.
“I know you don’t mean that. I know you’re upset right now,” he murmured, his mouth near your ear and his cheek brushing against your hair.
But the sun was setting and the light was washing away, and you knew your parents must be wondering where you went.
“Don’t move,” he whispered, clutching onto you with his hair over his face and tears in his eyes.
“Jaemin, I have to go,” you croaked, your mind begging your body to move. But no matter how much you willed it to, it couldn’t. It was your heavy heart rooting you in place.
“Can’t we just stay like this?” he asked. Jaemin sunk into you. He always had a fear of falling. “Can we start over?”
“It’s getting dark,”
“I think darkness is beautiful. Our fears stare us straight in the face but we can’t even see them. The sky could fall to my feet and I wouldn’t know it,”
Pretty profound words from the boy who never really showed emotion. You realized you didn’t know much about Jaemin, and it crushed you.
“But would you hear it, you think?”
“I don’t think so. I’d like to think our worlds would decay in silence,”
------------------------------
You were lying awake in your bed, the night growing older and the silence ringing in your ears. You jolted in shock when something hit your window. You knew who it must’ve been before you peered out to look, hoping you were wrong yet begging that you were right.
Jaemin stood in front of your one-story window, peering inside with tears painting his cheeks. You opened the window and allowed him inside, no questions asked as you accepted that this was the way things were now. Days can be so good until one bad thought and they’re ruined.
Jaemin stood in your room awkwardly, looking around. The endless stack of puzzle boxes caught his eye, but he didn’t say anything about them. You realized it was the first time he’d ever been in here. You closed the window shut again, and was then pulled by the arm abruptly. Your face was dangerously close to his now, and now you had a few questions.
“Why are you here, Jaemin?” you asked, wanting so badly to touch his cheek, but you refrained. He was silent for a while before he thought up an answer.
“I wanted- needed to see you,” Jaemin responded, his eyes cast down like he was distracted by something. “I hate being alone at night these days,”
You didn’t know what to think of that. Was he always with people at night? Other girls?
You were intensely aware of his fingers grazing your arm, his touch blazing a path down your skin. You wanted to tell him to stop, his fire burning a bigger hole in your chest, but you didn’t want to. Not when he was right here, looking at you like that.
You both knew he was using you, pushing all feelings aside for distraction, but neither of you cared.
His lips were on yours in an instant, fierce and hungry and not like how you imagined your first kiss with him at all. His hand covered the back of your head and pulled you impossibly closer, breathing you in like you were his lifeline. Maybe you were.
“Tell me this is okay,” Jaemin panted between kisses, never long enough to really get the words out. Now that he got something he couldn’t seem to get enough.
“It’s okay, Jaemin. Keep going,”
He didn’t need to be told twice.
Jaemin led the both of you blindly to the bed disregarding your parents upstairs. Your back landed onto the mattress and you bounced a bit into his chest, his body pressed flush against you.
Your lips were so sweet, Jaemin was drunk on them. His heart was racing just as fast as yours, shocked by the gravity of the situation despite being the instigator. His brain was spinning and his actions were justified by the ache in his heart and the longing he had for you.
Your arms were linked around his neck when his hands slid underneath your thin tank top, groaning at the smoothness of your skin. Fuck, your heart was about to burst out of your chest.
Both your shirts were gone in a rush, your hands searching for a touch as you ran your fingertips down the length of his torso. You felt him shudder beneath you, a heavy breath releasing harshly out his nose. His lips traveled down to your neck, and you wondered if he could feel your pulse under your skin. Jaemin nibbled lightly behind your ear, reveling in your whimpers. He traveled down even further, taking one breast and descending his mouth onto it. You brought a palm to your mouth trying to cover your moans, and Jaemin had the capacity to smirk up at your reaction. His tongue lapped over your nipple slowly, sensually, before moving onto the other side.
Your back lifted up off the mattress, into his touch, one of his arms scooping underneath your torso to pull you up and support your arch. Your fingers threaded through his hair, pulling and tugging to keep yourself grounded.
“Jaemin,” you whispered, pulling a bit harder on your head until he looked up at you. “I want to feel you now, please,”
Jaemin had been trying to hold himself back, take his time and test the waters, but it took that one plea for him to unleash his desires.
“Fuck,” he growled, kissing you softly, your lips sticking together. He nipped your bottom lip slyly before leaning back a little.
Jaemin sat up and tore his pants and underwear off in one go, turning over to help you out of your flimsy shorts. You were both bare now, the dim moonlight flooding in through your window to cast glowing shadows across your bodies. You both stayed still there for a moment, taking the other in. Regret didn’t hit either of you until now, staring the situation in the face, but you surely weren’t going to stop when you’d already gone this far.
“Condom?” he asked, but you shook your head.
“Are you clean?” you asked. “I’m on contraceptives,”
“I’m clean, I promise,” Jaemin replied, soothing your worries and reaching down to pet your head affectionately. “Are you ready?”
“I’ve been ready for a long time,” you joked, and Jaemin chuckled lightly, looking down at his length. He stroked it a few times, shifting his hips down as you felt the tip poke against your entrance. You were aware of how embarrassingly wet you’d gotten from so little interaction, but Jaemin groaned at the feeling.
“You’re so fucking wet, all for me,” he murmured, sinking slowly into your inviting entrance. You whined at the stretch, his thick length stretching you out. Your body was quite inexperienced with sizes as large as his.
“You’re doing great for me, baby,” He let the pet name slip, but it hung low over both of your heads. Once Jaemin bottomed out, you both sighed in sync.
“You’re so big,” you whispered, and Jaemin leaned down closer to your face to place a feather-like kiss to your lips. His forehead rested against your own, his breathing ragged as he held himself back from pounding into you. “You can move now, Jaem,”
Jaemin’s warmth pulled away from you again and relocated to your hips, his large hands gripping your body roughly as he thrusted slowly in and out. There was no noise in your room apart from the heavy breathing and lewd squelches of your entrance, Jaemin glancing down entranced by the sight of his cock slipping in and out of you.
“You’re so beautiful,” he sighed, under his breath like he didn’t mean for you to hear it. Your sweaty palm was still covering your mouth, but Jaemin tugged your arm down and released your open mouth to the cool air. He wanted to hear the effect he had on you.
Jaemin was beginning to speed up, his grip tightening its hold as he pulled your hips down onto his every time he thrust forward. You felt him everywhere, deep in your stomach like he was becoming a part of you.
“Jaemin, fuck,” you moaned, your hands coming up to grip your breasts trying to level your floating brain. Jaemin’s eyes darted to the sight and widened, his lip tugging between his teeth harshly.
“You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to do this,” he admitted. “Wanted to fuck this tight little pussy for so long. So fucking long,” He punctuated each word with a harsh thrust, hard enough to push you a bit further up the bed like he was trying to prove something.
Jaemin was trying to show you that he could make you feel good. That he wasn’t always going to make you feel shitty, even when it wasn’t intentional.
“Are you close?” he asked breathlessly. You hummed in affirmation. Jaemin slipped a hand down to your pussy, his thumb reaching out to rub harshly against your clit. You sucked in a breath, not daring to breathe with the risk of crying out. You let it out slowly, a squeaky whine coming out instead.
You were thrashing around underneath Jaemin, your walls pulsating around his cock. His eyes closed and his eyebrows furrowed, grunting softly as you orgasmed around him.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck,” he groaned, his pace unfaltering as he chased his own high. 30 seconds later he buried himself in your walls, his cum shooting deep inside of you. Your walls were still clenching around his softening cock, muscles in your body twitching sporadically as you came down from your orgasm. And as you came off your high, the closer you got to the ground. To reality.
Jaemin was in your room right now, the mixture of yours and his cum leaking out of your entrance and onto the sheets. It was real, the fact that you had just fucked Jaemin. You weren’t sure if this was right for either of you emotionally, but it felt so fucking good. You and Jaemin were self destructive.
------------------------------
“I’d like to thank you all for attending our celebration of life. Tonight is a special night, one that my husband and I wanted to share with you all,”
You sat in the lawn chair frozen, eyes fixated on Jaeyoung’s mother as she stood bravely before the crowd, using her time to address all the guests. Tonight was the night of Jaeyoung’s funeral, and while you were supposed to speak, you haven't planned anything specific. You decided it would be best to speak from the heart.
As her mother continued with her speech, swallowing through the pain as she spoke about her daughter, many sniffles could be heard amongst the crowd as she began to tear up as well. She had spoken to you about it earlier, when you had arrived early to help set up, about how she hadn’t wanted to cry during her speech. She wanted to keep things lighthearted, but that was impossible.
Her son wasn’t even here.
That’s right, Jaemin still hadn’t shown up. You were upset that he had left you alone here in the front row, but you were even more upset that he was letting his parents down. You didn’t ask them where he was, because they surely didn’t know. And it would be no use to bring it to their attention that he wasn’t here, they were fully aware.
But you pushed it to the back of your mind, because tonight wasn’t about him. It wasn’t even about you and him, in the same sentence, it was about Jaeyoung. And it was about letting go of all the pain and leaving more room for reminiscing. Now it was about spending time with the people who knew her, who she lived on through in their memories.
“Now, before we get to the burial, I would like to ask Jaeyoung’s best friend and sister at heart, as we always called her, up to the stage to give a few words,” She was dabbing her tears away with a soft fabric as you stood and approached the pedestal, and she gave you a solemn pat on the shoulder in comfort as she made her way back to her seat.
It was right then that you wished you had at least made an outline of what you wanted to say beforehand. You were frozen now that you were looking out at the sea of familiar faces, but you clasped your hands together and decided to go for it blind.
“If you knew Jaeyoung, you knew me as well. I was always with her, afterall. Next to her, on the phone with her, and even in the little necklace she’d always wear around her neck. I had gotten it for her for her 14th birthday, a photo of us tucked into the metal,”
You reached your hand up and felt the cool metal beneath your fingers, toying with it nervously.
“There are a lot of things I thought I had wanted to say to you all tonight, but I’m realizing now that it was all so negative. And I don’t think that’s the story Jaeyoung would want me to tell, so I’m kind of changing my plans right now. Please bare with me,”
Everyone was watching you with pity and expectancy, waiting for you to catch your quickening breath.
“Jaeyoung and I came in a pair. There was no Jaeyoung without Y/n, and no Y/n without Jaeyoung. It’s heartbreaking to think that it’s just me now. But, Jaeyoung has always been there for me, navigating this world by my side even when she had her own problems, her own highs and her own lows. If I could speak to her again, she would probably tell me to get up and learn to live without her, because she’s been trying to get me to do that all my life. It’s selfish for me now to put everything on hold, I realize, when all she’s wanted for me is to follow my dreams,”
“Sometimes, when the monsters creep out from the closet, I see the void in the world she left. But my one mistake is never finding anything to fill it with. Just like she would want me to. We can’t leave our shadows dark, even if what we might find scares us. Someone told me that darkness is beautiful, but I disagree. I think the light is what we need before it consumes us. Where would we be without the sun? Or the moon, or the stars? We should be frightened by a falling sky, or we would never live our days like it could happen someday. A life without fearing death is a life without value,”
“And so, I dedicate my days to Jaeyoung. To my best friend who loved animals and loved this time of day, with the sun hiding behind a sliver in the trees. To Jaeyoung, who loved the smell of her car’s air freshener and hated mine. I dedicate my life to her because she never got to live hers, and if there’s nothing else I could give her then at least I can give her the satisfaction of watching her best friend flourish down a path without forgetting where she came from. Right, Jaeyoung? I won’t cry anymore. I’ll take care of myself, of your family, and of your memory. This isn’t a goodbye but a farewell, to the best friend I could have ever asked for,”
You didn’t remember saying any of that once you exited the stage, your feet carrying you past the applause and out of the venue before you could see the tears mixed with smiling faces. If you needed closure, you needed to do one more thing.
Ring. Ring. Ring.
The number you have called is not available right now. Leave your message after the beep.
Beep.
“Jaemin,” you sighed, collapsing onto the bench in front of the building, letting your feet rest in your uncomfortable heels. You weren’t sure what you were expecting from him anymore. “Jaeyoung’s service ended. You weren’t there,”
Obviously. You just didn’t have anything else to say. You stayed silent on the line for a while, racking your brain for something better, maybe expressing your frustration with him, but no words came, so you simply hung up.
You didn’t go back inside. You didn’t think you could handle the sight of them lowering the casket into the ground.
So you drove, and drove, and drove, until you passed places you recognized from before and the night wasn’t young anymore. The headlights were blinding, making it hard to see much of anything. You were driving without purpose and without a destination, so distracted by the thoughts in your mind to even realize where you were.
You were on the street you’d driven a hundred times before. Half a block away was your school. Well, your old school. You’re an alumni now.
You sure as hell didn’t want to stop by, especially in the dead of night, but there were another set of headlights in the parking lot, and you were too curious not to give it an extra look. And for the single second you devoted your attention to the trespasser, you realized who it was.
Why the hell was Jaemin in the school parking lot on the night of his sister’s funeral?
You made a last minute, screeching turn left in through the curiously open gate. You didn’t even bother to park between one of the designated lines and shot out of your car with the engine still running.
“Jaemin?” you called, the dim yellow lamp posts scattered around doing nothing to aid your vision as you squinted to get a better look. You could see the shadow of his body resting against the hood of the car, and you approached cautiously.
“Is this what you’ve been doing this whole time?” you chastised, picking up one of the empty beer cans from the painted metal surface and tossing it to the ground. There Jaemin was, drunk and silent, alone while you just lived through possibly the hardest thing you’ve ever had to sit through.
“I didn’t want to go,” he stated simply, shrugging off your disappointment like it was nothing. You could tell he wasn’t sober, his cheeks tinted pink and his words slurring a bit. But there was little evidence in the empty cans that he was completely shitfaced, although you speculated his emotions were drunkening him all on their own.
“You were supposed to be there. For your parents, for Jaeyoung,” you paused, fighting the urge to snatch the newest can from his hand and throwing it to the pavement. “You were supposed to be there for me,”
Jaemin’s nonchalant attitude faltered a bit, his shoulders slumping deeper into his gaping chest. He had been staring out toward the gymnasium across the stretch of concrete, the building so familiar yet the core memory of it in his mind played through the extravagant decorations and aura of that night. It didn’t look as lively anymore, as if it knew it was too soon to get things up and running again.
“Why are you doing this, Jaemin? What are you trying to prove? That you’re better than everyone else? Or that you can’t cope? Whatever it is, whoever you are, this isn’t the Jaemin I know,”
You hated that you thought of how his hands felt on you.
“Maybe you don’t even know me, what about that?” he argued, his tone growing defensive.
“You’re saying it like it’s my fault! I’m sorry I’m such a big inconvenience for you, but you don’t have to care about me anymore,” you shouted. You were too upset and overrun with emotion to realize how hurtful it sounded. “Jaeyoung is gone. There’s nothing tying you to me. You don’t even have to know me,”
“Are you fucking serious?” Jaemin asked incredulously, his eyebrows furrowed as he turned and approached you. You regretted it now, now that you weren’t just staring at the back of his head. Jaemin was right in front of you now, for you to see the pain in his expression.
“What if I told you it was never about her when it came to you? What if she was the only thing holding either of us back?” He was mad now. “Don’t forget I’ve known you just as long as Jaeyoung has. And even though I didn’t get to know you, like really know you, I saw you in your best moments. Do you know how hard it is to watch a girl smile everyday and eat candy until her stomach hurts and sing until she’s out of breath? I was young, Y/n. I didn’t get to see those moments in other girls like I saw in you. I was impressionable. I had a boyish crush that you just can’t shake. I know how she felt about the idea of you and me, but fuck, how can you expect me to keep fighting for her when you’re the one standing right in front of me?”
“And for months, I only wished for one thing. I wanted so badly to take the silence in her soul and put it into mine. I didn’t want to do anything. I couldn’t get out of bed, I couldn’t call my parents and let them know I’m okay, I couldn’t even open my damn eyes. Is it so selfish of me to have found a reason to stay? Does it make me unworthy of love? Of loving you?”
The influx of information was too much. You found out so much in so little time, and the only thing you could do was cry.
Hard, broken sobs right in front of him. Jaemin’s shield was gone in an instant.
“I’m sorry,” he croaked, stepping forward and pulling you into his chest. He hated that it was too soon. Jaemin hated that the right thing to do would have been to give you space. To give you time and sit on his feelings like it would be forever until he could tell you. He tore you right apart. “I’m sorry, Y/n. Please don’t cry, forgive me. You’ll always have a place in me,”
You weren’t really sure why you were so emotional. Shouldn’t you have been happy? You finally got what you wanted. Jaemin reciprocated your feelings. And whether everything seemed heightened right now, for the both of you, you could still tell that somewhere inside of him, he meant what he said.
But you backed away regardless. He smelled too strongly of alcohol, and no matter what he said, it didn’t change the fact that he didn’t decide to give Jaeyoung even the time of day. You wiped the tears away and spoke directly to the boy in front of you, broken pieces and all.
“You know that’s too painful, Jaemin. For the both of us,”
Jaemin couldn’t handle the sight of you walking away. He was numb yet his body felt like it was being electrocuted.
“Don’t go,” he begged, his footsteps wavering until his knees hit the ground. You turned with the little pity you had left in your heart. “You’re half of me now,”
Jaemin let out a sigh when he heard you come back. But you stopped just short, your hand reaching out to him.
“Give me your keys. Call someone if you want to get home, you’re not driving drunk,”
And then you drove off. Jaemin had a knack for letting go of people in his life, even when he didn’t have to.

As if your days couldn’t get any worse, you ran into possibly the last person you’d ever expected to see the next morning in a flower shop down the road.
“Jaehyun?” you gasped, eyes locking with the boy behind the cashier. He was wearing a green apron, a part of the uniform, with a name tag pinned to his chest with neat handwriting scrawled across the front. He was similar to how you remembered him, nothing had changed much.
“Y/n, wow. Uh, welcome?” You both chuckled at the awkward greeting, before it went quiet as the elephant in the room grew.
“I, uh, heard the funeral was last night,” he commented. “I’m really sorry,”
You’d heard that one countless times before, but it meant something more coming from the college boy. He was with Jaeyoung that night, until he wasn’t.
“Whatever happened that night, with you and Jaeyoung?” you asked. Jaehyun’s face darkened and the mood shifted. Even though you were learning to grow comfortable talking about her, you forgot others might not have moved on so easily.
“I had gone to go get her that stupid milkshake she likes from Hank’s, the one with about 100 grams of sugar,” he sighed. “She was going to come along with me, ditch the fun for a late night date, but then this girl had approached her and said she saw you and, well, her brother there together,”
You nodded in acceptance, urging the boy to continue.
“I could tell she was so upset, but she always tried to hide things like that when she was with me. I had gone for her drink in hopes it would make her feel better when she went off to look for you. I really did like her, you know. I was planning on asking her out that night, properly,”
Jaehyun’s story was sad but beautiful, the perspective of the boy Jaeyoung was head over heels for, who just wanted to make her prom night that much more special.
“Are you here for Jaeyoung?” he asked, blinking his tears away and gesturing to the flower displays. You nodded, and he held up a finger signaling you to wait as he walked toward one of the shelves.
“She told me one time when she visited me during my shift that she always loved tulips. I teased her about it then, wondering why it wasn’t roses or carnations or something, but she insisted that they were the best flower,” Jaehyun walked back over and handed you a flowing bouquet of white tulips, fresh and picture perfect. “It’s on the house. Don’t be a stranger, okay?”
“Thank you, Jaehyun,” you sighed, walking out of the store with a greater passion inside. All the missing puzzle pieces were beginning to fall into place.
~
Apparently, graveyards were empty on a typical Wednesday afternoon. You nodded politely to an elderly man sitting on a bench down the stretch of sidewalk, making your way to the lot you were looking for.
For being a place of burial, the scenery was quite beautiful. Everything was green and well kept, colorful flowers and objects littering the expanse of the field as the sun shone bright and blazingly down on the marble. On the edge of the field was a forest, similar to the ones surrounding the rest of the town’s perimeter, trees standing proudly in the open landscape.
Na Jaeyoung
Forever remembered as a loving daughter, sister, and friend.
Her brand new headstone was spotless, the earth before it clearly disrupted as it now took the time to settle back into place. There was a framed photo of her leaning against the stone, dozens of flowers placed down with candles arranged around them. You set your tulips at the foot of the beautiful, chaotic mess, your heart warming at your contribution.
“Hey, Jaeyoung,” you began. It was a lot easier speaking to her directly, in private, than in front of all those people last night. “I came as soon as I could. Could you tell? I barely got ready this morning,”
It was a lot harder to speak without getting a response.
“I saw Jaehyun today. He’s still thinking about you. He was a good one, JaeJae. He’s probably my favorite one out of all your escapades. Oh, and my 19th birthday is coming up. Yours is, too, soon after,”
Small talk ways over. There’d been something nagging at you for weeks now, something you could never quite place, but now that you were here, heart to heart, it was all clear in your mind.
Rule number one, you can never unfriend her.
“I’ll visit you all the time, I promise,” You knelt down low until you sat, your legs crossing in front of you on the grass. “And even if I’m away, I’ll make sure to check in on your parents. They’re doing better now, Jaeyoung. Your mom is doing so well. Your dad has been talking about retiring so they can travel more. And Jaemin-”
Rule number two, you can never lie or keep secrets from her.
“Jaemin isn’t doing so well. I don’t know what to do about it, Jaeyoung. It’s a bit complicated between him and me,”
You paused and forced the tears back. If you didn’t cry over Jaeyoung, you definitely weren’t about to cry over her brother.
“But I think I really like him. I want to see him everyday and talk to him, make sure he’s okay. He’s really torn up over all of this, and I think he’s blaming himself too much. I don’t want to lose him too, but I’m not sure if I even have him,”
Your heart was pounding like she could hear your confession. You hope she could, no matter how much it still frightened you.
“I know how you felt, feel, about us. But I can’t help it, Jaeyoung. These days especially, he reminds me of you. He’s all I have left of you, and I’m starting to plant these seeds in my head that maybe things can work out between us. Dangerous, isn’t it?”
The wind was beginning to pick up, the clouds moving quickly overhead until the blocked the harsh, beating sun.
Rule number three, you are not allowed to fall in love with her brother.
“I think I love him, Jaeyoung,”
It was your first time saying it out loud. It felt like the earth shattered for a second, so quickly no one would realize it, but you felt it. Because in your world, it had shattered and reassembled so many times you recognized the feeling of crumbling apart.
“And I’m sorry if it upsets you, I’m sorry I let you drive off that night. I should have said something to you, anything, even if they were my words now. I love him. I love Jaemin. I hope you can be happy for me,”
“Because you’ll always be my best friend, regardless. I’ll always be the one making sure of it, though. I love you too, Jaeyoung. I love both of you, and I wish things were different. But right now, with the way things settled into place, all I can do is sit here and offer myself up to you. I miss you, Jaeyoung, but I know I’ll be able to move past this with you in my heart,”
A rustle of motion broke you out of your one sided conversation, pulling your attention away as you looked up searching for the source of the movement. You looked behind you first, down the pathway to see if someone else had come to visit, but it wasn’t a human.
In the distance, under the line of tree trunks and over the hill, stood a beautiful spotted doe.
It’s ears were perked and you tried to stay silent, careful not to scare it away. It was about fifty feet away from you, it’s body calm as it sniffed around at a patch of grass beneath its feet. A small smile spread across your face and you felt the connection in your soul.
It left as quickly as it appeared, dashing off elegantly back into the forest. It was almost as if it were never there.
“Hi Jaeyoung,” you whispered.
~
Jaemin didn’t mean anyone any harm. If anything, he was dead set on making his own life miserable, because he deserved it.
But if he really did want to keep you by his side, how many chances would it take before he got it right? He let you down that night, he knew that. But even now he still, selfishly, wishes you had stayed with him. Even if all he could offer you was his own pathetic heart and unspoken words.
When he biked down to the empty field again, he let the air slip in through his open mouth. This field may look bare and plain now, but on one night during the year it was a place of new beginnings. Jaemin came here often, hoping he would get out of it what he used to.
Maybe if he hoped for it enough, he could get some good luck on his side for once. Jaemin was skeptical, to say the least.
But when a car pulled onto the grass behind him, he thought he was dreaming.
Here you were, always managing to find him at his worst of times, and wait, was that his car?
Jaemin turned and met your eyes, his dull ones staring into the flames on your own. He was so convinced you were about to start lecturing him, yelling and punching like he deserved. That’s why he almost fell to his knees when you opened your mouth.
“I love you,”
Wait, was Jaemin sure he wasn’t in some fairytale wonderland? He’s been going crazy enough these days, the possibility wasn’t too far out of reach.
“No, you don’t,” he replied dully. And even though it discouraged you a bit, you grit your teeth and continued.
“No, Jaemin. I’ve learned that there’s a difference between loving someone, and wanting to love someone. I don’t want to, but I love you,”
You could see the way his eyes widened in the sunlight, tired shadows and ghosts of tears haunting his features. But he still looked so handsome standing there, like he always did. If you squinted, gave your vision a bit of assistance to blur his image, he was the same boy you grew up with. The same boy you fell in love with all these years.
“Did you hear me, Jaem?” you cried, a maniacal smile on your face as every little piece of lead weight lifted off your shoulders. “I love you,”
The corners of Jaemin’s lips were beginning to crack up, a smile slowly making its way onto his face. You swore there was a twinkle in his eyes.
“Damn it, Y/n,”
Jaemin took large billowing steps toward you, a smile on his face as he cradled your face in his hands and smashed his lips against yours. You both collectively sighed.
Finally.
You intake oxygen and feel it flow through your lungs, but you haven’t truly breathed like this since the moment you found out she couldn’t anymore.
You’ve been thinking about it a lot, that maybe it’s better in a way that you'll die someday. One day Jaemin will be gone and you’ll be gone too, just like Jaeyoung. And even if having forever with him sounds perfect on paper, if you could love him until the end of time, your days together would mean nothing. Death only brings value to your love.
We die for moments like these. If we lived for them, there’d be no point in losing everything one day. And at last you knew that your story had come to an end. The timing was all wrong and the universe waits for no one.

All you wanted to do was go to sleep after your fight with Hoseok but Y/L/N Jaeyoung was making it extremely difficult to.
You watched him wearily as he bounced on the mini trampoline Mingyu bought for him and Jaehee, wincing every time you heard the spring squeak. He had been jumping on it for the past fifteen minutes, showing no hints of exhaustion as he squealed loudly and clapped his hands.
"Jaeyoung-ah, are you not tired?" You called out, on the verge of tears when he shook his head.
"No, I want to play, eomma!" Jaeyoung stopped jumping and scrambled off of the trampoline, sprinting to the other side of the room where Soonyoung, Seungkwan, and Jeonghan got a mini slide for the twins.
When the Seventeen members visited your new apartment, they were eager to learn that your apartment had extremely high ceilings and an empty room that was not put to use. They begged to turn it into a playroom and even insisted on paying for the entire cost (not that you would let them create a playroom if the money came out of your own pockets). After much convincing, you reluctantly agreed and now you were facing the consequences as you watched Jaeyoung climb up the stairs on all fours.
Most nights, the twins went to bed immediately after taking a bath and reading a bedtime story but tonight was not one of those nights. While Jaehee was sound asleep, Jaeyoung was running around like he drank a can of energy drink right before bedtime. You supposed that you should be grateful that only one twin was awake but your younger child was testing your patience. It seemed like all of the playing he did with Seungcheol and Eunae did nothing to wear him out.
"Alright, mister, that's enough." You caught him as he came out of the slide, swinging him into your arms.
"No, eomma, I want to play!" Jaeyoung squirmed around in your arms frantically, trying to get back onto the floor,
"Nope, we're taking another bath. You're all sweaty from running around in the playroom and then it's time to sleep." You simply replied.
He pouted and remained silent, his mood souring as you placed him back on the ground to fill up the bathtub. He sat on the ground and began kicking his legs, whining about how he wanted to play but you ignored him, filling the bath with bubbles instead. It was rare that Jaeyoung had a temper tantrum as he was typically well-mannered but in the moments he did, you let him take out his anger alone before talking to him about his feelings so he would listen to you when you tried to communicate with him. The first time you tried to hold him during a meltdown in an attempt to comfort him, he somehow managed to kick you in the jaw so you quickly learned that he preferred crying alone before listening to you. You were not a perfect parent by any means and were still learning how to raise the twins but you learned over the years that Jaeyoung listened to you best when he wasn't emotional.
"Are you ready to talk, Jae-Jae?" You asked after the tub finished filling with water.
Jaeyoung nodded his head tearfully, sniffling as he sat on the toilet seat. You squatted down in front of him so you could be at the same level as him, wiping his tears away.
"Why are you sad, baby?" You questioned.
"Because I want to play." He mumbled, his eyes brimming with tears again as he remembered how much fun he was having in the playroom before you snatched him up like a ragdoll.
"You already played a lot today. You played at daycare with your friends, you played with Eunae imo at the park, and you played with Seungcheol samchon after that. It's time for you to go to sleep or else you'll be too tired to play tomorrow." You explained. "You can play again after you sleep. Eomma let you stay up for a long time after I read you and Jaehee a story so now it's time to sleep."
"But I don't want to sleep." Jaeyoung pouted.
"Let's try to sleep at least one time, okay? You didn't even close your eyes when you were in bed, bubba."
The two of you agreed after you promised him that he could stay up longer if he really couldn't go to sleep and didn't feel tired in the slightest bit. He happily got in the bath and played with the bubbles for five minutes, before dozing off while you gently washed his hair and body. By the time you finished drying him off and dressed him back in his pajamas, he was half-asleep. You happily tucked him back into bed, feeling victorious.
"Finally, he fell asleep. I thought we would be pulling an all-nighter."
You collapsed onto the couch and lay sprawled out across it, staring at the ceiling in silence. Eunae, Seungcheol, and Joshua stared at you in amusement before snickering at your misfortune. You shot them a nasty look, irritated that they were disturbing your night but they invited themselves over after learning that Hoseok visited you a few hours prior. Eunae let herself in via the spare key you gave her and seemed to have allowed Joshua and Seungcheol in as well. You eyed the snacks and wine bottle that had been opened while you were wrangling Jaeyoung to bed; they were clearly having the time of their life while you were begging your three-year-old to sleep.
“You should’ve invited him to hang out with us.” Seungcheol grinned.
“And you should shut up.” You grouched, thanking Eunae for the glass of wine she poured for you. "As much as I love spending time with Jaeyoung, I need a break after that whole fiasco with Hoseok earlier today."
You weren't one to chug wine (or anything alcohol for that matter) nor was it the proper way to drink the expensive delicacy Mingyu gifted you a few weeks prior but you were in desperate need of a drink. Joshua winced as you drank the glass in one go, reaching out to grab it from you to refill it.
"Slow down, mama, we have all night." He scolded.
You smiled wryly at him before slumping further down against the couch, sighing deeply. "I hate Jung Hoseok. I wanted to kiss his pretty face when I saw him."
"You what?" Eunae screeched.
Seungcheol slapped his hand over her mouth. "Quiet, woman. There are children upstairs." He hissed.
She glared at him and reached up to yank his hand off of her mouth. She redirected her stare toward you, silently demanding you to explain. Quite frankly, you didn't know why she was surprised by your remark when you told her a few times you still loved Hoseok.
"He aged like fine wine." You simply shrugged. You then snickered to yourself at the realization that you were quite literally drinking said alcohol. "No pun intended."
Joshua shook his head. "You are pathetic sometimes, Y/L/N Y/N."
"Hey now, that's unnecessary." You swatted at his arm. "Just because I think he's still hot doesn't mean that I want to get back with him. I'm still mad at him; my conversation today only solidified it."
"What happened? How did he even know where you worked?" Seungcheol furrowed his eyebrows, realizing how strange it was that Hoseok quickly found you after you ran into the other BTS members at HYBE.
"Didn't Mingyu, Myungho, or Seokmin tell you? Hoseok has been looking for me ever since that day. He must've hired people or asked his management team to find information on me which is why he was able to find my cafe so easily."
Eunae scoffed in disgust. "What a creep. He has a lot of audacity to look up personal information about an ex-girlfriend."
"He also has a lot of audacity to say he would take me to court over Jaehee and Jaeyoung."
"What?"
So you dived into the story for your friends' sake, recalling every detail from the conversation. Just retelling the story had you heated and by the time you finished, you were red in the face, out of breath, and had a death grip on your wine glass which Joshua promptly snatched away.
"I am going to kill him, Y/N. Ooh, that man is not going to see the pearly gates of heaven once I get my hands on him." Eunae threatened.
"I'll hold him down, you punch him?" Seungcheol offered.
Joshua shook his head, disgusted and angered by the story. "I can't believe he threatened to take you to court when he was the one who accused you of cheating and broke up with you. Does he really think the judge is going to let him see the twins?"
You shrugged, "I guess so. I applaud him for being that confident. It takes a lot of stupidity to threaten court when he's the one who has been a deadbeat dad for the past three years."
Seungcheol grimaced, "Being called a deadbeat dad? That's tough. True but still tough."
"What did you tell him?" Eunae asked.
"That we can go to court if he wants to." You replied. "All of the inheritance money from my grandparents and parents can pay for ten years worth of lawyers if need be."
Eunae clapped her hands, nodding her head in approval. "You are so sexy for that. I could kiss you right now." She beamed.
"Excuse me?" Seungcheol gasped.
He was ignored as his girlfriend asked you more questions about what happened with Hoseok. You felt emotionally drained by the time she ran out of questions to pester you with, feeling like you relived the entirety of it for the second time.
"You should reach out to a film production company so they could turn your life into a movie," Joshua suggested. "You could be rich, Y/Nie. Even richer than your grandparents ever were."
You snorted at his remark, lazily swatting at him. "Don't be ridiculous." You then pondered on his suggestion. "How much money do you think I could make if I told them it was a true story and that Hoseok is the antagonist?"
The four of you laughed before silence fell. Nobody knew what else to say as they realized the true magnitude of the situation. If Hoseok was to follow through with his words, then there was no doubt that many issues were going to arise within the following weeks. Even if you could pay for countless lawyers, you didn't have the mental and emotional strength to fight in court for who knows how long. You also didn't want to put the twins in such an environment because they were so young.
"What are you going to do if Hoseok actually takes you to court?" Seungcheol asked quietly.
"I guess I'm fighting back until I get full custody and he gets no visitation rights."
Tumblr media
"You WHAT?" Jimin screeched.
Hoseok winced, shamefully looking down at his feet while the other members glared at him fiercely. He was embarrassed and ashamed of his words after thinking back on what he said when he met you yesterday. He didn't know what he was thinking at the moment—in fact, he wasn't thinking. He had no idea why he threatened to take you to court and was shocked it even crossed his mind in the first place. He would never try to take the twins away from you and never considered it until you flat-out refused to let him see them. Hoseok didn't expect you to say yes right away and was prepared to ease his way back into your life but hadn't considered that you wouldn't allow him anywhere near them. He prided himself in being able to control his anger but the past few weeks had been overwhelming after realizing that he had been in the wrong for the past three years and you were telling the truth all along. His anger took the best of him and before he could stop himself, he threatened to take you to court even though he had no intention to.
"Please tell me you're kidding." Namjoon pleaded, pinching the bridge of his nose when Hoseok shook his head.
"Why would you say that? In what world do you have the right to say that?" Jimin demanded.
"I don't know, it just slipped out in the heat of the moment." Hoseok weakly explained.
Jungkook whistled lowly before shaking his head. "There's no way you're getting out of this one, hyung. It's one thing to accuse her of cheating but it's another to tell her that you're gonna take her to court over the kids you abandoned. Even your lawyers aren't gonna side with you on this one."
"I know that." Hoseok snapped. "Do you think I meant it? I said it without thinking."
"Do you ever think?" Yoongi retorted.
Hoseok's head snapped in his direction, hurt evident on his face. "What?" He questioned. He glanced around the room, finally noticing how the members were all looking down at him with the same expression of disappointment and anger. He gulped and forced back the tears that stung his eyes, realizing he dug himself even further into his grave.
"Do you ever think?" Yoongi repeated. "You didn't think four years ago when you broke up with Y/N, you didn't think when you accused her of cheating, you didn't think when you left her alone to raise your child on her own, and now you didn't think after seeing her for the first time in person since the breakup. You keep using the excuse that you didn't think and that your emotions got the best of you but those excuses stopped being valid three years ago, Hoseok. How long are you going to stop taking responsibility for your actions?"
"Now, I'll stop now," Hoseok replied, harshly wiping away the tear that rolled down his face. "I just found out that Y/N was telling the truth and that we have two kids. I need some time to process all of this."
"And spending days tracking her down to confront her at her cafe was the way to go?" Taehyung asked.
Hoseok fell silent. They all stared down at him, waiting for him to respond. The intensity of their stares made him squirm in his seat, uncomfortable with the tense environment. "Look, I know that I approached all of this the wrong way and that I have years of groveling to make up for everything I did to Y/N but can you cut me some slack? I don't understand why you guys are tag-teaming me all of a sudden."
"If we're not being harsh on you, then who will?" Namjoon questioned. "We're not saying all of this to make you feel bad. You've put Y/N through so much and it's about time you own up to what you did. Even if it means you have to hear nagging from us."
"You guys know that all of you need to apologize to her too, right? I'm not the only one who abandoned her." Hoseok pointed out.
Jimin nodded his head. "We know, hyung. But it starts with you before it starts with us."
"I know."
"We're not on your side anymore, hyung."
"I know."
"Do you? Because you've been acting awfully immature since the parking garage incident." Yoongi crossed his arms over his chest.
"God, why are you being such an asshole about this? I know I messed up, hyung and I know it was wrong of me to threaten to take Y/N to court but it was in the heat of the moment. I would never try to take the twins away from her when she was the one who raised them alone for three years because I was the one who abandoned her. I don't need you to give me a hard time when Jin hyung already is." Hoseok's voice grew louder as he glowered at Yoongi, feeling the same anger from when he fought with Seokjin bubble inside of him again
"Because I've been holding my anger against you ever since you broke up with Y/N and the one time you get the chance to fix things with her, you screw up again. I watched you fuck over my best friend with baseless accusations and let her become a scapegoat but I'll be damned if you hurt her again. My biggest regret is not standing up for her because her life would've been a hell of a lot easier if she had at least one person supporting her."
Hoseok and Yoongi stared at each other, the tension thickening tenfold. The rest of the members glanced in between them, suddenly feeling awkward and uncomfortable as they stared each other down. Though none of them said it aloud when Seokjin shared how he felt about the breakup a few days ago, they all agreed with what he said. His words rang in their ears with them afterward and the longer that they thought about what he said, the more they realized he was right.
“Fix this, Hoseok. Nobody is on your side anymore and if that doesn't tell you you're in the wrong, then I don't know what will."
Tumblr media
The bartender stared at Hoseok wearily as he downed another shot. He lost count of how many shots he gave the man but now he was worried that he was going to get alcohol poisoning. The last thing he needed was for his face to be plastered all over the media for killing the dance leader of BTS.
"Two more shots please." Hoseok slurred.
"I'm cutting you off for the night, Hoseok-ssi."
Minjun swiped the shot glasses away from him and grabbed the credit card Hoseok had taken out at the beginning of the night, charging him for all of the shots he had drunk within the past two hours. He felt bad for Hoseok, who had been staring at the table like a wounded puppy while progressively getting drunker. He came into the bar alone and immediately asked for two shots of the strongest alcohol they offered, which Minjun was reluctant to give until Hoseok offered to pay double for them. It was clear he was going through relationship issues because he started mumbling about someone named 'Y/N' under his breath half an hour ago.
"No, I need to forget about Y/N." Hoseok protested, holding his hands out in front of him. "Give me more shots."
"I don't want you to die from alcohol poisoning," Minjun replied, wiping down the counters. "I would be sentenced to life in prison if I killed a member of BTS. Is there somebody who can come pick you up?"
Hoseok mumbled a name but it came out muffled as his head was buried underneath his arms. He was asked to repeat it, eagerly sitting upright as he repeated your name over and over again.
"Y/N, I want Y/N to pick me up!" Hoseok exclaimed. "Can you call her?"
"I don't know her number, sir," Minjun replied. He furrowed his eyebrows, confused by the sudden change in opinion about this so-called Y/N. Wasn’t he just complaining about how he wanted to forget about you?
"Call Y/N!"
"I can't call her number if I don't know her number. Is there another BTS member who can pick you up?"
Hoseok violently shook his head, almost falling off of his chair from the force. He wanted you to pick him up and he’ll be damned if anybody else came to take him home. He would camp out in the bar for the rest of the night if need be. “Y/N, I want my Y/N,” He moaned, dropping his head into the counter.
Minjun cringed before suggesting, “How about you call her? Have you thought about doing that?”
“Y/N hates me,” Hoseok whined.
“Then why do you want her to pick you up?”
“Because I love her.”
His bottom lip quivered as tears welled up in his eyes at the thought of your hatred for him. He sniffed, slouching over in his seat as he recalled the way you looked at him yesterday. “I don’t want her to hate me.”
Minjun sighed deeply. He was not being paid enough to deal with customers like Hoseok. He was certainly going to demand a raise after his shift was over. “How about I call her for you? Just tell me her phone number and I’ll talk to her.”
Hoseok perked up again, nodding his head furiously. "Yes, please talk to her! I still remember her number." He recited your number confidently, which was one of the few numbers he knew by heart. He just hoped you didn't change your number after the breakup.
"Hello?"
Minjun blinked, shocked that you had actually replied. He was convinced that Hoseok was just talking out of his ass but you were a real person. "Hi, Y/N-ssi, I'm Minjun, a bartender at Whiskey Lounge. I'm here with Jung Hoseok-ssi, who gave me your number. He's been drinking for the past two hours and is drunk right now. He insists on you picking him up and refuses to go home with one of his band members. Would you be able to pick him up?"
You pulled your phone away from your ear, making sure that it was a real phone call. You stared at the call for a moment before clearing your throat. "Hi, Minjun-ssi, thank you for cutting him off from drinking too much. I won't be able to pick him up but I can contact one of the Bangtan members to come get him and I'll call you back when one of them is on the way. I'm sorry if he was causing a disruption and thank you for reaching out to me."
"Of course, it's no problem at all. I'll be watching over him for the time being."
"Thank you. Have a good night, Minjun-ssi."
"You as well."
You sighed deeply once you heard the line disconnect, groaning loudly before you called up Mingyu to explain the situation to him. This was the consequence of not changing your number after the breakup, you supposed. Mingyu was more than happy to contact Jungkook about what was going on and assured you that he and Jungkook would handle it from here on out. You thanked him profusely and apologized for bothering him at such a late hour, but the younger man found the situation too amusing to be irritated.
"Looks like he's still obsessed with you." He teased.
"Oh shut it."
Tumblr media
"Hoseok hyung?"
The older man was slumped over the bar, his face buried in between his arms as he tried falling asleep. Upon hearing his name, he lazily lifted his head before grinning when he saw who was staring back at him. "Jungkookie, it's nice to see you."
Jungkook shook his head disappointedly with a sigh. "You're such an embarrassment sometimes, hyung. Come on, let's go home." He tried to wrap his arm around Hoseok's waist and help him off of the stool but received a swat in the chest instead.
"Go away, I don't want you. I want Y/N." Hoseok whined.
"Well, Y/N is a working woman with a full-time job and two kids. She's too busy to be picking you up when you're drunk." The maknae snapped, forcefully dragging him away from the bar.
Hoseok’s eyes welled up again, causing Minjun to sigh and leave the scene. “She hates me. Y/N hates me.”
“Yeah, and for a good reason too.”
Jungkook dragged Hoseok out of the bar, cursing him out for being so stubborn and refusing to cooperate. It took him a few minutes, but he was able to force him into the car, buckled in his seatbelt, and slammed the door shut. Jungkook settled in the driver’s seat, quickly stepping on the gas before Hoseok could try to get out. Quite frankly, he had been tired of his hyung lately, and having to pick him up at two in the morning because he was drunk was pushing him over the edge. He ignored Hoseok's mumbles, opting to listen to music rather than entertain his drunk friend.
“Jungkookie,” Hoseok mumbled as the two of them trudged over to the elevators.
“What, hyung?” Jungkook replied, already fed up with the conversation.
“Are you mad at me?”
The youngest sighed before shaking his head. “No hyung, not mad. Just disappointed.” He truthfully answered.
Even in his drunken state, Hoseok felt ashamed of what he said to you at your cafe. He curled into himself as he leaned against the elevator walls, wishing they would swallow him whole. Jungkook noticed his sudden distress and sighed before rubbing his back comfortingly.
"It's okay, hyung. You made big mistakes but can fix them if you give yourself the time. I don't think Y/N noona is entirely opposed to having you back in her life."
Hoseok perked up at his comment. "You think so?" He hopefully asked.
Jungkook chuckled, "Yes, I think so. She may be angry now but she loves you so much."
The dance leader visibly brightened, allowing Jungkook to haul him over to the dorm. "She still loves me." He beamed. "I should call her."
Jungkook's eyes widened as the door accidentally swung open, slamming against the wall. "You should what?" He questioned, yanking Hoseok inside before shutting the door again.
"I should call her and tell her I still love her too." Hoseok fumbled with his phone but it was quickly snatched away from him. "Hey!"
"You are not going to call her, hyung. Not at three in the morning when she's still mad at you."
"But you said she loves me!" Hoseok whined.
Jungkook sighed deeply, pinching the bridge of his nose. He didn't realize that his words would hold so much weight to Hoseok but should've known better than to tell a drunk man that his ex-lover still loved him. "That doesn't mean you should call her right now. What are you gonna do, profess your undying love for her?"
"Yes." Hoseok stumbled a few feet as he tried to take off his shoes. "Y/N needs to know that I still love her and never stopped. I want to tell her that she's the only person who's been on my mind since we broke up and that I haven't looked at another woman since. She is the only one for me." He dropped to the ground, lying face down on the cold floor whilst continuing to mumble about his love for you.
Jungkook stared at his hyung, unable to believe what he was witnessing. He sighed again before lifting Hoseok off of the ground and taking him to his bedroom. He changed Hoseok out of his clothes and left him in his boxers, tucking him into his bed as if he were a child (spoiler: he's not). The older man easily complied, continuing to mumble about you and his everlasting love for you under his breath. Jungkook left a glass of water with ibuprofen on the nightstand and plugged Hoseok's phone into the charger before leaving him to sleep for the night. He sluggishly retreated to his room, where Taehyung and Jimin were waiting for him.
"How was picking up Hobi hyung?" Taehyung asked, amused by the way Jungkook flopped onto his bed face first.
"Awful." He grumbled. "The poor bartender looked exhausted and Hobi hyung would not shut up about Y/N noona. Did you know that he's still in love with her?"
Jimin sat up at the speed of light, looking alarmed. "He's what?"
Jungkook nodded solemnly. "I think there are a lot of things Hobi hyung hasn’t told us.”
Tumblr media
"Bye-bye!"
Jaeyoung and Jaehee waved to you excitedly before Eunae shut the door behind her. She came over to your apartment bright and early to take the twins to daycare since her shift started a little later during the day. You were extremely grateful that your best friend jumped at every opportunity to help you with the twins and she adored spending every second with them when she had the chance. There would be times when you would go a few days without seeing her because she had back-to-back shifts that lasted at least twelve hours but nowadays, her schedule was rather lax.
Thanks to her, you could spend a quiet morning by yourself before you had to head to the cafe to do an inventory check. The cafe had been busier than usual thanks to the Seventeen members you found yourself having to restock on many items more often than in the past. Your cafe turned into a tourist spot for CARATs who were visiting from abroad. You were grateful for the business they gave you but hadn't expected your business to start growing rapidly. You didn’t know when was the last time you could settle down with a proper breakfast (one that didn't consist of eating leftover toddler scraps) so you were eager to make yourself an actual meal.
While you waited for the water to boil to make soup, you checked the missed call that you noticed earlier in the day. The number wasn't in your contacts but it was vaguely familiar to you. You couldn't quite put your finger on whose number it was but the person left you a voicemail at two in the morning.
“Y/N, it’s Hoseok.”
Your breath hitched as you pulled your phone away from your ear, staring at the number displayed across your screen as a sense of deja vu washed over you. When Hoseok became extremely busy once BTS began to take off, he often left voicemails for you because of differing time zones and work schedules. He greeted you the same way every time he left a message and though the greeting lacked the pet name he used you to call, it tugged your heartstrings all the same.
To say you were shocked that he still remembered your number would be an understatement, especially since he was drunk last night. Curious about what Hoseok had to say, you placed your phone back against your ear and took a seat at the dining table.
"I called you to tell you that I'm an idiot. I was stupid for saying that I would take you to court for the twins when I have no right to even see their faces once in my life. I don't want to take them away from you and would never try to. I'm sorry for everything Y/N. I treated you awfully when I broke up with you and there is nothing in the world I can do to make up for it. I'm so sorry, Y/Nie. I know I don't deserve any ounce of forgiveness but I wanted you to know I'm sorry and I love you. Please forgive me, I-"
Right before he could continue his ramble, he heard a door slam open. "Hoseok hyung, I told you to go to sleep. Who are you talking to right now?"
You heard Hoseok arguing with Jungkook before the line went dead, promptly ending the phone call and Hoseok's pathetic apology. You played the voicemail again, listening to your ex-boyfriend apologize through drunken slurs with bated breath. You played it again and again in hopes that the apology would placate the anxiety you felt ever since you saw Jungkook and fill the hole Hoseok left after breaking up with you but it didn’t help. The apology you waited to hear finally came yet it was falling on deaf ears.
It was wrong of you to take a drunken voicemail as a genuine apology from Hoseok but you were so desperate to hear the words “I’m sorry” fall out of his mouth. He wasn’t worth your time nor deserved your forgiveness however after waiting four years for an apology, you could feel the defenses you built up against Hoseok slowly weakening. Even if you weren't going to accept his apology from the voicemail, you knew you were eventually going to crack. You were still weak when it came to him and you always would be.
After all, you're only human.
Tumblr media
"Holy shit."
Hoseok let out a groan as he opened his eyes, immediately feeling his head pounding from the sunlight that was streaming through his window. He yanked the covers over his head, hoping it would ease his headache but to no avail. He mentally cursed himself for drinking last night, irritated that he got carried away and got blackout drunk. Drinking to the point of having no memories of the night before was something he hadn't done in years.
He reached out for the painkillers that were on the nightstand, immediately taking two of them before washing them down with water. Hoseok stared at the floor, reflecting on his actions as if he were a child who got put on timeout. Faint memories of the night before flashed in his mind and he winced from the embarrassment of his behavior.
Hoseok eventually reached for his phone, figuring that there was no point in dwelling on something that already happened. He caught up on the plethora of messages that filled up his phone, ignoring most of them. He only replied to Jimin and Taehyung, who were worried that he was suffering from an awful hangover that would require him to be hospitalized. Their messages did get a chuckle out of him which immediately made his headache worse.
"Knock, knock."
The door opened and Jungkook came walking in with a tray of food in his hands. The smell of hangover soup wafted through the air and into Hoseok's nose, causing him to gag. He wasn't the type of person to seek food upon waking up after a night of drinking and with the nausea that still overtook him, Hoseok was prepared to run to the bathroom and vomit. He scrunched his nose at the smell of the spicy soup. Nothing about the steaming bowls of rice and soup was appealing to him.
"You have to eat, hyung." Jungkook urged, setting the tray down on the nightstand.
"I'm going to throw up all over you if you don't get that thing away from me in the next 30 seconds."
Hoseok didn't know why Jungkook was laughing when there was nothing funny about the fact he was suffering from a raging hangover. The maknae ignored him, grabbing the small table he brought for Hoseok and setting it up on the bed.
"Once you're done eating, make sure you text Y/N noona an apology for last night," Jungkook mentioned.
"Why? I didn't even talk to her last night." Hoseok snorted.
"For the drunk voicemail you sent her."
"The what?"
While Jungkook happily recalled what happened the night before, Hoseok was frantically searching through his call log to see if he truly did call you. Much to his horror, your number sat at the top of the most recent call log. "Why did you let me call her?"
"You did that all by yourself after I tucked you into bed like the child you are. I came back in because you were talking to yourself come to find out that you were confessing your love to Y/N noona and blubbering about how sorry you were." Jungkook snapped, slamming down the bowls on the table. "Don't get snippy with me when you're the one who called her."
Hoseok stared at your number miserably as he thought of dozens of different ways to apologize to you for everything that had transpired within the past week. Surely by now, he would have to provide financial compensation simply for existing in your life.

Hey Y/N, it's Seokjin. I got your number from Jungkook who got it from Mingyu. I know that's an invasion of privacy and I’m sorry we went behind your back to do that despite the fact that you want no contact with any of us but I wanted to reach out and talk about what happened with Hoseok. You probably don't wanna talk to me and it's far too late for me to be reaching out now but I really do want to talk. If you're able to meet up with me, please let me know. I would love to see you again.

full bloom. h. renjun
renjun x fem!reader.
warnings :: angst. thats really it
1.7k words.
october 6th, 2012.
"sweetie, lets go welcome our new neighbors. grab your brother." mrs. l/n called out from the kitchen, grabbing the plate of cookies, straightening out her dress.
doing as she was told, y/n grabbed her brother's hand and made her way to the front door, holding it open for their mother to walk through first and lead the way to the house. since it was just next door, it was a short walk to the oak front door.
ringing the doorbell, y/n and her brother stood on one side of their mom, looking straight ahead, waiting for the door to open. once it did, they were met by a woman and her son.
"hello, we wanted to welcome you to the neighborhood. my daughter, y/n and i baked you these cookies." mrs. l/n said with a warm smile on her face. the boy looked to be about the same age as y/n, maybe a year older.
she could tell he was shy by the way he hid behind his mom. the girl offered him a smile, so wide it showed off her gums. the boy smiled back, and y/n was able to see his little snaggle tooth. her first though was that he had the prettiest smile ever.
"thank you so much! i'm huang renxiang and this is my son renjun. his korean isn't the best since we just moved here from china. i think he and your daughter might be the same age." ms. huang said with a smile, taking the cookies. her voice was gentle and comforting, and from the way she spoke, you'd assume she has never yelled a day in her life.
"ah, that's okay. i'm actually fluent in chinese, i studied there for a little so i learned the language. y/n sweetie, why don't you and jaeyoung show renjun your play room." with excitement, y/n grabbed renjun and jaeyoung's hands and ran towards their house, the sounds of their mother's chuckles now faint.
march 23rd, 2017.
"blow your candles out, renjun." y/n said, a smile on her face as she watched her best friend roll his eyes and do as he was told. of course he made a wish, but if he ever said it out loud he knew he would be laughed at for sure.
it was his 18th birthday, and each year since he moved in next to y/n they celebrated every single birthday together. it was practically a tradition for them at this point.
satisfied, y/n left the dinner table, leaving renjun confused but not surprised. quickly returning with a small box in her hands, she pushed it towards the male.
"happy birthday, jun." she said softly, sitting back down next to him, watching him slowly open the box. inside lay a gold bracelet with the day they met engraved on it. that day meant a lot to the two teenagers, one they would never forget.
"this is so cliche but i like it." he said, putting the bracelet on his wrist. the girl held her hand out, showing him a ring that matched his gift. renjun smiled and quickly took a picture of it.
they spent the day together until it was late, and renjun quickly ran to his house to get permission to stay the night, even though he already knew his mom would say yes.
he made his way back next door and straight up to y/n's bedroom, plopping down onto the bed face first. y/n sat in her desk chair, and laughed at the older before laying down atop of his body. he was warm, and she found herself drifting off into a light slumber.
slowly and carefully moved the girl under the blanket, and climbed in after, turning off her bedside lamp. soon after he was asleep right along with her.
july 14th, 2020.
it was the day before y/n's birthday and the girl was very excited. it was her 20th birthday, which meant that she and renjun were both almost adults. they talked about this since they were younger.
what their lives would look like by then, if they'd be in college or traveling. y/n and renjun both entered the same college, renjun an art major and y/n a photography major. they would go to and from school together. they'd even gotten a job at a local cafe together.
they were happy and content with everything. neither wanted to change a thing about their current situation.
around 3pm there was a knock at y/n's front door. renjun was with a friend of his, and her mom was at work. curious, the girl opened the door to see a bouquet of flowers sitting on her porch.
a few years back renjun and y/n learned the meanings of flowers for fun, something they both found interest in. y/n loved what aster's stood for, them being her favorite flowers.
the flowers in this particular bouquet confused her, though. it had sweet pea's, purple hyacinth's, and aster's. it was clear the sender of these knew the meanings of them.
the sweet pea's meant blissful pleasure, but they could also symbolize "good-bye". purple hyacinth's relayed the message "i'm sorry, please forgive me." and y/n's favorite, aster's. those had a specific message that she remembered.
"take care of yourself for me.." she mumbled out loud, looking up from the flowers, hoping to see who left them at her front door. the street was empty, and the girl was confused.
bringing them inside, y/n noticed a small card in the middle. gently pulling it out, she opened the envelope. in familiar handwriting there was a short message written on the white paper.
'i'm sorry i left without saying good-bye. take care of yourself for me. -jun'
to say the girl was confused would be an understatement. he left? he was supposed to be with jaemin. that's what he told her earlier. did he lie? she quickly made her way out of her house and into the one next door with the key that she was given.
the house was still the same, but it felt different. renjun's room was bare, the only thing remaining was his bed and dresser. a box was left in the middle of the bed with the females name on it. slowly opening the box, the first thing she was met with was renjun's favorite hoodies and a sketchbook.
that was his favorite one, he carried it with him all of the time, and was always drawing something new in it. with teary eyes y/n opened the book to the first page. she expected a drawing, but instead was met with words.
'y/n,
if you're reading this, i've either gotten the courage to confess, or i've went back to china. this was bound to happen one day. my mom and made an agreement that i would live with her until i turned 20, and would go back and help my father at his company. i convinced them to wait another year until you turned 20, too.
i wanted to thank you for being by my side. since the day we met you've been nothing but loving to me. words will never begin to express my gratitude. somewhere along the road i fell for you, but i never said anything.
i think that's what i regret the most. not telling you while i still had the chance to. i hope you can understand everything. my dad had an urgent matter so i had to leave early. i wanted nothing more to spend one last birthday together before i left.
we don't say this to each other often, but i truly love you, l/n y/n. take care of yourself.
-huang renjun.'
by the time she finished reading, she was a sobbing mess on the floor. ms. huang had just entered the front door, back from dropping renjun off when she heard the cries. she entered what was once renjun's room and brought the girl into a tight embrace, tears falling from her own eyes.
july 15th, 2021.
it was y/n's 21st birthday, and it's been a year since renjun left. nothing has been the same since that day. it was like y/n never truly recovered from it.
she was on her way home from work, deciding to walk today since she wanted to clear her head. approaching her house, she saw a bouquet of flowers sitting on her doorstep. once she got closer she recognized the flowers.
a bouquet of asters. it was clear renjun was the sender, and that alone brought tears to her eyes. these once again had a note with them, but these had a different message.
'happy birthday, y/n'
reading that, the only thing that went through the girls mind was that it wasn't a happy birthday if he wasn't by her side. she sat the flowers on the table and went to her bedroom with the intention of crying herself to sleep.
doing just that, she cried and cried until she couldn't anymore, and at that point, there was nothing more to do than sleep. in the middle of the night, her bedroom door was pushed open, and a figure made their way to the bed.
these actions used to be so normal for him, but now he didn't know if he should get in next to her or not. after mentally debating on it for ten minutes, he climbed into the bed next to the girl and brought her body into his arms, holding her tightly, with no intentions of letting go.
the next morning, y/n woke up with a headache and a weight around her waist. slowly opening her eyes and looking up, she saw the familiar features of the boy she fell in love with many years ago.
she didn't know if she was imaging things because she missed him so much or if he was really there, so she did what any sane person would do.
bringing her hand up, she pinched his nose closed and waited. panicking renjun shot up causing the girls hand to fall. catching his breath he looked at y/n like she was crazy.
ignoring the look she threw herself at the boy, hugging him tightly as tears fell from her eyes. hearing the soft sniffles, renjun's eyes softened as he hugged her back, his head resting on her shoulder.
"i missed you so much, y/n."

ONF reaction to you accidentally turning them on with neck kisses
Genre: fluff + suggestive
Pairing: ONF x gn reader
Warnings: everyone is just very touchy, also mentions of sex.
Requested
Bonus song rec: Dream by Jung Jin Woo
Sorry for any typo or spelling/grammar mistakes
Hyojin:
He is so absorbed in the new drama you two started that his hand is resting inside the popcorn bucked. With your head laying on his shoulder, you chuckled at yourself and accidentally steal his attention. "What's funny?" he asks scratching his chin on your hair.
You pull your head out of his shoulder and turn to look at him as you explain with humor adorning your face "You. You're funny"
Your smiley and pretty face is enough to tug his attention fully to you. Hyo locks you in a bear-like hug, your face fits in the curve of his neck. The way he smells sweet yet mainly got you nuzzling then kissing and sucking on his skin.
"Y/n you should be careful" your boyfriend advises. You feel his grip loosening
"Why?" you whisper still smoothly moving against him.
"Stop or I'm gonna take you to my bedroom"
J-Us (Seungjun):
His arrival probably was very silent because you simply find him laying on the couch. In fact, you wondered why he was taking so much to come back from the match with his friends. Now you were muddled staring at him apparently sleeping on his stomach, his face buried in a cushion.
"They tired you up, right?" You ask without waiting for an answer. Your palm runs up and down his back, affectionate movements.
You observed his humid hair, then the nape of his neck, his shoulders. You barely thought before straddling his torso to start a massage. The pressure should be collected not to hurt him, anyways his mumbles did not take much to say hello.
"Hey, babe." you greet peppering kisses on his nape, which made him wriggle.
"Hey, beautiful. What you want from me?"
"I just taking care of you, Jun."
"Sweetheart, I may look like a trash bag on the couch but I still have energy to wreck you."
E-Tion (Changyoon):
Those baggy jeans definitely suit him, you think walking into the bedroom. He also wears a cool cap turned backward. The motif on it reminds you of athletes, maybe baseball players. It does not matter, he probably got a good mirror selfie to post. He is still analyzing pictures that are all pretty similar to each other, so you hug him from behind and reassure him without even looking at the scream. "You look pretty in all of them".
He silently chuckles. "I've already chosen. I guess." he ponders. He was actually about to take more pictures just for the sake of it before your arrival. The way your arms rested around him changed his mind nonetheless. "Wanna take a selfie with me, honey?" he suggests "You're pretty too"
You dressed up in the bathroom, thus he has not seen your look yet. He is being a cute boyfriend as usual and deserves a kiss for it. A kiss on his nape. He does not say a word after that, also you feel his abdomen getting rigid under your hold. "Changie?"
"Oh, hey. Are we still going out? Because, huh, that kiss was hot"
Wyatt (Jaeyoung):
The mattress budges a tiny bit when he sits next to you, but you pretend you are asleep. He has not lit the room nor made any noise, Jaeyoung simply stays there, immobile. You want to chuckle for some reason but you do not. Maybe it is because he has got perfectly fooled, he is too nice to this world.
"Sorry, princess" he suddenly whispers close to your face before kissing your temple, then you lose.
"I'm still awake, dear" you sit and try to see his face through the half-light. There is light coming from the corridor and his lips form an adorable arch. It is impossible not to lean toward him for a hug. Your head finds its place in the crook of his neck and you lay a breathy kiss there. His response comes with a sigh.
"I was planning to take a shower and just lie with you. Do you have other plans by any chance?"
MK (Minkyun):
His fingers lingered intertwined with yours. That was peaceful, the opposite of Minkyun. You could pay attention to his scent, to the warmth of his chest against your back, plus you were almost sure you could feel his heartbeat. A part of you wanted to comment on his stillness, so you did. "How did I get you like this for so much time, my lemon boy?"
He then shifted just a bit, nestling you more comfortably. Was it possible? "This view is amazing. Thanks for bringing me here at this time. I guess I'm inspired."
"Are Fuses getting a new song?" you asked excitedly and turned to him, just enough to lean the side of your head on his shoulder.
"Nah, the song will be for you, my muse". The answer was followed by a caress on your head. You ended up kissing his neck, which was so close.
"Oh!" His surprise did not make you move your face from his neck. Quite the opposite, you kept kissing him. "No, baby. Stop, please. I don't think you will be up to having sex in the car. Or??
Yuto:
There is now a pile of t-shirts next to you on his bed. They were all rigorously ironed. Yuto came to collect them but you stopped him. "This one is so stylish. Can I borrow it?" you ask your boyfriend with puppy eyes.
Yuto melts at your cuteness. He is not the type to admit but you know it! He puts that silly smile on before giving you the green light. "The tee is yours from now on, okay?"
He organizes everything inside his drawer and comes back to you with a satisfied demeanor. "Thank you for waiting until I'm done. What do you wanna do now?"
"Nothing. Is it possible?" You softly pull him down on the mattress by the collar. He shows no resistance. All yours. Oh, you want to kiss all over him. Of course, that is not related to the gift you had just gotten. You throw your leg on top of him and start the rain of kisses from his jawline down his neck. He just let you be, since you seem to be having fun.
Once you were done, he warns you. "Hey, sweetie. It's my turn. I won't be as cute as you though."

Secret Triangle
Pairing: drummer! Wyatt x bassist! gender neutral reader x guitarist! Yuto
Genre: Fluff blended with funny parts and some angst (because love triangles are supposed to hurt). I promise a happy end though.
Warnings: cheating :/
Plus: Mentions of other members. Guitarist! J-Us
Words: 2,6k
Summary: You had been burying your mixed feelings for quite a long time. Now they seem to be coming to the surface again as you don't know how to proceed without breaking your band members' hearts.
Part 1 / Part 2 (this link redirects to my main blog)
Sorry for any spelling or grammar mistakes that you might find.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While you slide the nail polish brush on Seungjun’s well-trimmed nails, his words did not seem to ever come to an end. Also, your friend did not care to supervise your work on covering his nails with that glossy black. Anyways, the energetic creature in front of you had that easily noticeable kind of beauty, he had a gentle yet charming smile that no human being was able to explain. People often flirted with all of the band members – including you – but Seungjun was definitely the most courted out of the four of you. That day he was sure that having his nails done would make him even more attractive when his fingers would be seen playing with his guitar strings on the stage.
On the other hand, Yuto used to play the second guitar as if nobody could see him. So often he closed his eyes and focused on the sounds that his instrument added to the song as a whole. He was the most exquisite when he was engaged on something, in his nature, a talent inherent to the geniuses.
“Y/n? Are you still listening?”
You lifted your head to look back at Seungjun in no time. To be honest, you had no idea of what he was blabbing about at this point.
“Of course!” you automatically lied “well, not actually. I’m sorry, Seungjun.”
The guilty felt like fulfilling your head, then going down your throat and finally reaching your stomach. It had nothing to do with Seungjun catching you zooming out though.
He pressed his lips together looking frustrated but not really angry. You read something like “Should I repeat everything I’ve said?” impressed on his face. He was a simple guy. You were jealous of him.
It was that at some point in his monologue, a thought intruded your mind, pushing his voice to the side and stealing your attention. His words started to float away in the air as another narrative overhung heavy behind your eyes. You had dangerous thoughts becoming slowly more frequent. Now they even dare to greet you when you were actively occupied with tasks.
You sighed considering explaining your dilemma to the guy in front of you. You knew he would be sympathetic and maybe you could even share your pain with him. However, involving Seungjun would put him into trouble along with you. Consequently, it would be reckless of you. Even though he was your best friend, he was also your boyfriend’s best friend. You barely could deal with the idea of breaking Jaeyoung’s heart. Making it for real would hurt you like a sword. Your stomach tightened as you imagined a literal wound.
Jaeyoung and Yuto were already in the oldest’s garage when you arrived with Seungjun. The two guys seemed to have a trivial conversation as Yuto was sitting on the old massive soundbox that you got in a second-hand shop when the band was still a trio and you had no public. Jaeyoung was on the floor next to his drums, part of his butt occupied the end of the rug, where the large instrument laid on. The rug was quite dusty but none of you could bother to clean it. Yuto once told you that it looked awful but everyone came up with excuses not to take any action on the issue. “I hope no one other than us shows up here” he sighed giving up. He would never do all the work by himself.
A sweet smile took over Jaeyoung’s whole face as he turned his head to look at you and Seungjun entering. He often smiled with all his facial features, it seemed. That probably was definitive to make you fall in love with him back in your first year in college. You attended that class for a month when you had to work together on a project. He was so gentle to you that you could not help putting your heart right in his hands. His voice was always deep in the perfect tone to lull you into daydreams of being between his arms. But, at first, he was not able to see you as more than a friend. He used to give you shivers every time he tucked your hair behind your ear. Why the hell he did that if he were not falling in love? Sometimes you hated him, but not really. You could not hate the owner of the sweetest smile, it was against your nature.
You loved Jaeyoung for almost a year without getting anything in return, yet your pseudo-band was born. Him, Seungjun and you had the same sense of humor, even though your crush liked to pretend like he did not. 2DMH was your band name, the letters stood for Didn't Do My Homework. You attempted to open a concert still yet that year but they say something was missing in the music you made together. That thing happened to be Yuto, who was still minding his own business in Japan back then.
In the present days, the three of you, in fact, had the younger guy in your band. In reality, now you looked more like a real band and the recognition was coming more and more solidly.
Yuto stopped dangling his legs as his eyes found yours, but you were not supposed to look at him when your boyfriend was getting up to come to you. “Wassup, guys?” Jaeyoung said referring to both you and Seungjun but heading right to you. He cupped your face and pecked your forehead.
“Are we late?” Seungjun asked, picking up his cell phone inside of his jacket pocket and then panicking “Oh shit! Are my nails already dry?”
You smiled amused with his reaction as the other two guys looked clueless. “I guess the time we took to get here was enough to dry your nail polish”.
“Yey! Show us what you did” Yuto said cheerfully jumping out of the soundbox.
“What I did” you rectified, your frame warmly hugged by Jaeyoung.
“Well,” Seungjun started. “I felt like trying something new.” And raised his hands, so both Jaeyoung and Yuto could see them well. He moved his fingers in wave-like motions as his smile looked about to pop out of his face.
The other two exclaimed something about his nails looking cool at the same time. You could lay your eyes again on the sleek surface of his short nails.
“I got the inspo from my roommate though.”
“Ah yeah, Changyoon is stylish.” Your boyfriend commented. “Anyways, sorry for changing the topic, but Yuto and I have news.”
You pulled back from Jaeyoung so he and the younger guy could clarify the announcement.
“Do you all know Minkyun, right?” Yuto asked and turned to you and Seungjun, who nodded in a rush. “Well, his friend owns a club called Asteroid, they need a good band to play in their rock nights. They saw us playing last week”.
You played in the party to welcome the newcomers. You had so much fun that day, the sports arena was decorated with vibrant pennant flags, the makeshift stage looked so good with spotlights sparkling in different colors and directions from time to time. Freshmen as well as seniors having fun at the beginning of a new academic year.
“In short, we have an audition next week, so they’re gonna decide which band is performing in their house. If it goes right for us, we’re having a place to play every Saturday night.” Jaeyoung finished.
"You don't say” you said quite softly, the surprise making your eyes widen. It would be more than just having an established place to make concerts in, it meant the end of you all practically begging to play at random events all over the city. Sometimes you felt like an annoying kid, from your first concert to the present, you had not achieved big stuff. Performing at Asteroid would allow you to earn actual money from your hobby.
Your boyfriend laughed at your dumb expression. “This is true, babe. We were invited this time.”
“Well, then should we practice until our arms fall apart?” you joked.
“Or until our vocal cords are wrecked?” Seungjun added.
“I guess we’re gonna need our arms and vocal cords, but we should practice indeed.” Jaeyung headed to his drummer set in an inviting gesture. The way he glanced over his shoulders with a positive movement of eyebrows stirred a delicate smile from you. The two guitarists followed him to their usual positions. You threw an enthusiastic look to your bass, patiently waiting for you close to the roll-up garage door, before taking it.
You, Seungjun and Yuto took the metro together back to your places. Your weekly rehearsal in Jaeyoung’s garage went alright and you were fairly tired. Your boyfriend told Yuto to carry you home safely, which was unexpected because it was a while since the last time he joked like that. It was quite funny that your boyfriend was repeating those words exactly when your feelings for Yuto were emerging back. Even if he had never known about some happenings, sometimes he acted like he unconsciously felt the tension between you and the Japanese guy.
Seungjun said good-bye when the metro stopped at his station, obligating you and Yuto to be alone. It often happened that way, since the two of you lived in the same neighborhood, close to the college. Despite your confused friendship, you got along well, as if nothing had ever happened. The way your thoughts kept finding their way to him lately got you wondering if he was dealing better than you with the past. He was so equilibrated, a bit straitlaced sometimes, you found. Still, a nice guy to be close to.
The covered arm of his guitar laid between the two of you in the metro seat, you had left your bass in the garage this time. You ended up showing up at your boyfriend’s numerous times a week after all. Yuto was too quiet playing with his own fingers and it somehow infected you. You crossed your legs and fidgeted with the torn fabric of your pants. “Are you okay?” you finally asked.
“I’m just... Thinking.”
“About what? If I can ask you, of course.”
He breathed in deeply and released the air through his mouth in a noisy way. “Trip Advisor is about to close permanently. I have no idea of what to do if we don’t start working on that club for real. How can I found a boss as kind as Mr. Kim?”
Trip Advisor was the restaurant where Yuto worked at night and Mr. Kim was really nice since Yuto got day-offs to perform with 2DMH every time he asked for.
“You won’t have to. Please take it easy. We’re gonna get to play in Asteroid and the payment is good and you'll be getting the biggest part.”
You both stood up to get out of the metro. Yuto still had a concerned look, his eyes mirrored a million worries as you swerved away from the people walking their way inside the platform.
“But what if the owner chooses other-?”
“No!” you interrupted him. “It’s gonna be us. Forget the other bands”
Now you marched upstairs and you felt bad for having almost yelled at him. “Listen, I promise you that I’ll give my best in that audition and I can speak for Jaeyoung and Seungjun as well. If by any chance, they are dumb and don’t pick us, we’ll find another way. You can stay at my place. Anything!”
He nodded visibly grateful for your words, still, he struggled to give a side smile. He wanted to match your optimism so badly. “I can even stay in Jaeyoung’s garage” he joked and it felt as if the clouds were opening to the sun after the rain.
“Yes, you can even wrap yourself in that rug.”
Both of you stopped right in front of the building where you lived. Yuto had carried you home safely as promised. “Wanna go inside?” you did not understand why you asked that but he accepted the invitation and followed you. Maybe you just needed to stay together for a little bit, maybe he thought you had some bread hidden, some that you were now willing to offer him.
You internally joked, and consequently had to stop your laugh from coming. In fact, you fought yourself not to have weird thoughts about him when you were together. Being random and silly helped, yet sometimes his small gestures reminded you of why your heart skipped some beats for him.
The way he sweetly accepted to go upstairs and chill in your apartment sent you to about a year ago, when you barely knew each other. Back then, you felt bitter because it had been an entire year of you just being friends with Jaeyoung, no romantic interest could be noticed by his side. The very beginning of a new academic year got you in your worst temper regarding him. Therefore you avoided meeting him other than in your shared classes and 2DMH rehearsals. Your main excuse was being a volunteer at helping foreign newbies. You had been often paired with Yuto even though he did not need much help at anything. The two of you walked around and hanged out more than anything.
“I should have introduced you to the library today!” You remembered when you passed by the old building on your way back from your walking. You had only twenty minutes to go before your class. “Should I do it now real quick?”
“Oh! Why not?” he shrugged, his hands hidden inside the pockets of his dark jeans.
You two crossed the library lobby almost running to take keys and lock your backpacks before rushing yourselves to the middle of the silent sea of words. You did your best at explaining to him how that place was organized as you walked between full bookshelves. The Japanese guy followed you with the most adorable eyes during those few minutes you had to see as much as you could. You had no idea, but he had been already taught all that bullshit that you summarized in a rush, which he admitted you later.
You pretended to be angry at and he got easily fooled by the way you crossed your arms and said “What kind of idiot do you think I am?”
His way to apologize took you completely off-guard, causing a shock at your feelings. “Y/N, sorry if I upset you. It’s just that I feel like I can watch the same movie 79 times with you without getting bored.”
You unlock your apartment and both you and Yuto stepped out of your sneakers to walk inside in socks.
“You know what I think about our band name” he mentioned while you slid your window open.
You took a while to respond, one of your neighbors rode a bike down on the street. “I do! You love it” you pop up with a dumb smile.
Yuto burst into laughter. His expression was so pure as he clap his hands thanks to your sudden yet bold reply. You felt actually proud of drawing some amusement from him after the tension that surrounded his current situation.
Once he finally regrouped himself, he wiped his tears away with the back of his hand and talked back “I would never be part of a band named like that if I had friends one year ago.”
“Come on! Your life in Korea would be quite shitty if you hadn’t known us.” You spoke with overexcited manners, making a funny scene to maintain his mood up. Your hands sketched elastic forms in the air. “You may don’t like our name, but you love us. Just admit it, you love me.”
You witnessed the fall of his chin as those last words fell from your mouth. In the next second, he was staring at you weirdly. It was like he was trying to comprehend some kind of vision right behind you, through your frame. Then the guitarist looked away and spoke slowly as if he had suddenly forgotten the language. You knew that tone when he measured and weighed every word. “I am lucky to have known you all and to play with you. I am grateful as well. There’s only a dark side…” he confessed in a way that scared you.

onf reaction ➵ s/o kisses them in front of the members
pairing : onf x gn!reader
requested? : yes!
hyojin
he’s simple! i don’t think he would mind very much, honestly. he would brush it off as a casual thing, and maybe even lean in for another kiss.
seungjun (j-us)
similar to hyojin, he doesn’t mind. it’s a normal thing for couples to do, right? so why should it matter if his s/o kissed him in front of his groupmates?
changyoon (e-tion)
so dramatic, but loves it nevertheless. when you kiss him, he’ll give some kind of reaction like “woah, there, babe! what was that for?” but it’s all in good fun as he will give you another small kiss right after.
jaeyoung (wyatt)
he loves when you do this. it’s nice knowing that you aren’t shy in front of the members or ashamed of your relationship.
minkyun (mk)
so giggly. it’ll be like he forgot the other members were in the room with you two. he will kiss you again, and if any member has anything to say to you two, he’ll make some cheeky comment about the others being jealous or something.
yuto (u)
so shy. he was caught a little off guard, and if the other members start teasing him, his cheeks will turn bright pink! however, as the youngest member, this would give him a boost of confidence as his hyungs might see him as more grown up.

“I want to hug you so tight...”
(This probably sucks I’m sorry but I’m so soft tonight I’m decided to write this. I hope you enjoy! Let’s celebrate ONF’s debut together!)
♡ fluff
♡ pairing: reader x kim minseok/laun (onf’s maknae)
Minseok was lying on his bed while you enter his room. As soon as you enter the room he just threw the book he was reading.
“You look gorgeous”, you immediately blushed at his compliment.
You try to say thank you to him but it was impossible for you to speak. You can't get away from those eyes. THOSE PERFECT EYES. Whenever you look into them it's so hard to turn away.
He smiled at you with that damn smile that makes your heart melt.
“What are you doing? Come on, come here my cutie pie!”, he makes space for you to share the bed with him.
His bedroom is so small but you find it comfortable. The roof of the room is made of wood. The walls are white and he has decorative string lights that turn his bedroom into a romantic retreat. Entering the room you will find a large shelf full of books and DVDs in the right hand. On the left, a closet.
“Which movie should we watch, Minseok?”, you asked.
“Hmm, something in particular you want to watch?”, he keeps looking at you.
At the end you just pick a random movie called “Monte Carlo”.
In fact the movie was so boring and you spent the whole time staring at Minseok.
You can't see him often because you're too busy with college and so is he with his idol trainee life.
He is so tiny and sweet you want to protect him at all costs.
Minseok was very concentrated watching the movie and you feel the impulse to hug him.
You've been friends for a long time but time passes and you realized you fell in love with him. You don't know how, you don't know why. You just did.
When you think about him, your heart beats faster.
When you listen to his angelic voice, you smile for no reason.
What did he do to you?
The movie just endend. Deep in thought, you didn't hear Minseok calling your name.
“Oh, sorry. I was just....t-thinking”, you stuttered and you feel like a fool.
“It's okay. Don't worry! Was the movie too boring? I'm sorry...next time I will pick another one. I promise. Actually, it's been a long time since we last saw each other and I wanted you to have a fun night...I'm so sorry. It was dull, right? I'm the only one who enjoyed the movie”, he said with a sad smile.
He was trying to look happy but you noticed that sad gaze in his eyes.
“Aw, it's not like that Minseok! I just like spending time with you no matter what we do. Our time together is so precious to me. But next time...let me choose the movie”, you laughed.
“Why are you so cute?”, Minseok said smiling.
AND HERE IT IS AGAIN. HIS BEAUTIFUL SMILE.
“Minseok, don't do that or I'm gonna explode.”
Minseok looked at you confuse.
“What did I do?”
“YOUR SMILE. YOU LOOK LIKE AN ANGEL. What should I do? I want to hug you so bad”, you covered your face.
Minseok immediately blushed and then hug you.
“If you want to hug me...just hug me”, he whispered in your ear.
You hug him back even tighter and you just can't hide your excitement.
For a moment you feel the need to tell him you love him but you just can't.
He's going to debut you JUST CAN'T.
He's your best friend. You don't want to ruin your friendship you JUST CAN'T.
And you just close your eyes and you wish time could just stop with you between his arms.
