Oh we are hating on the wmmap novels today? I found Athy (Lee Jihye) to be oddly mean in the novels. There were multiple instances where Jennette was uncomfortable, sad, being targeted or about to be embarrassed and Athy aknowledges she could have helped her but chose not to. If I remember correctly once at the tea party the girls were trying to get under her skin because of her relationship with Ijekiel and how it would have been sorta incest even though cousin marriage is legal in Obelia (nevermind that they are only pretending to be second cousins and all nobles are distantly related anyway) and it was very apparent these girls were just trying to prick her with their words but Athy leaned back and watched without intervening with the excuse that Jennette has to learn how to defend herself.
There was also a Jennette/Ijekiel date scene where Jennette was stuck with her heel somewhere and Athy thinks to herself how Jennette would have to take off her shoes in public and would embarass herself. She thinks how she could have easily helped her with magic but instead she hides and watches (thankfully Ijekiel kneels down and helps her.) These are such small and subtle scenes but piled up they paint a much meaner picture of Athy. When you know you have the power to help a friend and it would cost you absolutely nothing, wouldn't even be more than a sentence or the flick of a hand but you instead chose to watch them embarass themselves then you are a dick. It also makes wmmap Athy a hypocrite for getting mad about the girls in The Lovely Princess talking shit about the og Athy when in her current universe there's a girl in a similar position and she prefers to be a spectator rather then giving her a helping hand. I think Athy secretly likes it when Jennette is unhappy and Jennette becoming something pitiful in her eyes is the only way she can love her because that way she doesn't feel threatened in her position and can feel better about herself when she choses to comfort her. Athy feels jealous over the smallest good things that are happening in Jennette's life that weren't there because of her.

seungcheol adores jihye, in every sense. he feels very overprotective of her and always tries to steer her in the right direction. ever since they met for the first time in the ugly green training room back in 2013, he’s been very protective of her in a fatherly sense. honestly, he thought she was adorable with her chubby face (from all the pastry’s she would bake and eat) and how enthusiastic she was to finally be living in south korea and getting to learn more about her culture.
as the two grew older, seungcheol became less overbearing you could say but was always 2 steps behind the girl. he’s there when she needs a hug, when she needs someone to jump for joy with, or when she needs a shoulder to cry on. seungcheol would never let his daughter sister think she was alone in this world.

˳ ׄ ཐིiཋྀ ⟡ DESCRIPTION — when roaslie first came to pledis entertainment and korea, she was a sweet girl who was very innocent and such a peaceful aura to her. don’t get anyone wrong she still is that way but if you put jeonghan into the mix, little peaceful rosie turns into menace to society rosie.
if jeonghan wants something from somebody else, he’ll make rosie go get it and flutter her eyelashes because he KNOWS nobody will say no to her, not the managers, the the boys, even the fans. of course jeonghan never wants to get rosie in trouble, that’s his little sister but that doesn’t stop him from wreaking havoc in all of pledis/hybe entertainment.
regardless of the trouble these two get into rosie really is like a mini me of jeonghan. she’ll copy him and get a lego set to build with him and even try and learn to play the same games as him just so she can spend some time with him, even when they are together a lot of the time. it’s cute, a mini little jeonghan.

he’s one of her best friends and a person that rosie looks up to in life. jihye has always been a little sensitive when it comes to the world despite her extravagant personality, and joshua is the one who can see behind the facade but never discourages her when it comes to expressing herself!
honestly jihye finds everything that joshua does is amazing. he makes a joke that the other boys don’t laugh at, instead of silence you’ll hear rosie laughing the loudest you’ve ever heard — if you can’t find jihye she’s probably in joshua’s room making bracelets with him.

junhui gives love to jihye and takes care of her in silence. when jihye was in middle and high school she would always have a lunch packed for her with her favorite snacks by none other than jun, junhui would make jihye’s bed for her when she left for school knowing she was always in such a rush to get out the door and knows she loves coming home to a freshly made bed, even when she would fall asleep at her desk from staying up too late studying — junhui would tuck her in for bed and make sure she had her favorite stuffed animal, clementine the cow.
jihye always thought jun was the coolest person. he spoke chinese and was learning how to speak korean at the time they met, he was one of the tallest people she met at that point (excluding mingyu) and he just had the coolness she thought was extremely awesome. she never thought he was awkward or weird and always loved to be around him and be around him.

soonyoung and jihye are like one person when they are together. rosalie already has an extroverted big personality but you put hoshi in the mix it turns into one big chaotic loving mess (jihye is usually the one who starts the chaos).
jihye was always the one to keep hoshi up at night talking about her most recent interest (the latest one being snakes) and usually fell asleep cuddling him with a smile on her face. the next morning usually involved the member next door to them to shut up because they could hear jihye’s squeals about snakes from next door. hoshi would very much defend her and stay up the next night again talking, just cause.

˳ ׄ ཐིiཋྀ ⟡ SHIP NAME — wonwoo + jihye ❪ JIWOO ❫
˳ ׄ ཐིiཋྀ ⟡ DESCRIPTION — wonwoo is obsessed with jihye, he literally looks at her like she holds the stars in the sky (platonically of course). she was such a (not so) little baby back when she came to korea and met wonwoo that he just wanted to hold her close and never let go. he calls her his little squish because of how chubby her cheeks were when she showed up and the nickname has stuck.
wonwoo helps jihye win when they play mario kart and any other game they play weather it be a video game or a board game or even when they have a mission during going seventeen, wonwoo will help jihye first before he tries to win.
so much love is put into their friendship and wonwoo always knows that he has jihye by his side with everything he goes through and the same goes for jihye. sometimes jihye’s social battery just runs out and when she needs some cuddles and just a quiet place to go to she will seek out wonwoo and he loves it. it’s the greatest thing.
Tumblr media
˳ ׄ ཐིiཋྀ ⟡ POPULARITY — 98%
˳ ׄ ཐིiཋྀ ⟡ SHIP NAME — jihoon + jihye ❪ JIJI ❫
˳ ׄ ཐིiཋྀ ⟡ DESCRIPTION — jihoon is jihye’s biggest hater. YOU’VE HEARD IT HERE FIRST PEOPLE, jihoon is a rosalie anti. i’m just kidding, jihoon loves jihye just as much as he loves picking on her.
ever since the two met it’s been like a tom and merry friendship — rosie will do whatever just to annoy the older boy and claim “you can’t do anything i’m younger than you!” and then woozi would do whatever he can to get on the girls nerves and say “you should respect your older brother, stop being a brat”.
i promise, they love each other — but come on it’s so much fun to see rosalie get frustrated and try not to curse at jihoon because he knows she doesn’t like to use profanity. it’s funny though because jihoon is usually one of the first person the defend jihye if someone try’s to pick on her because only he can say that she’s not a miniature cow (more like a giraffe) but those are his words and if you try to bully her, he’ll bully you.

ORV AND THE POWER OF CHOICE
I’d like to start with Kim Dokja. From the very beginning of the novel, he made the claim that it was easier to be alone. That is was “comfortable.” Despite this proclamation, he lays his life down time and time again for his companions. He /chooses/ a harder path: a path of love, a path that he was never shown personally.
"I really don't understand it. Why are you helping me, Hyunsung hyung and the noonas? If you are alone... you would be able to survive better."
He could calmly speak such words before his death. Maybe this kid's mind was already dead.
"Yes, you are right." Another ground rat fell to the ground with its head cut off. "It is comfortable to live alone, eat alone and survive alone. But..."
The “But..” really takes me out because he’s saying it is easier. But I don’t want easy. I want you. I want all the problems that come with saving you. I want to die for you. I want to be with you until the end of this.
He makes the conscious choice to protect his companions, shielding them best he can from the dangers of the scenarios, even if it comes at the cost of his own life. He doesn’t ever consider the unhealable wounds his companions are left with when he sacrifices himself. I think this is him attempting to protect people the way he yearned to be protected. I see this especially with Shin Yoosung, Lee Gilyoung, and Lee Jihye.
“I saw the party members screaming in despair.
[ Why are you trying to save them? You can see the ending even if you live alone. ]
‘The ending is only meaningful if they are there.’”
“It was all planned and ahjussi used us for your purpose. Let's say we are characters of that damn Ways of Survival and everything is set!" Lee Jihye was crying, watching me while biting her pallid lips. ‘Then… why did you throw your life away for us so many times?’”
“Answer me! If we are really characters in a fictional novel, why did you die for us over and over?”
“Tell me that I did good until now – whether I made the wrong choices or not, whether I would get to see the desired conclusion when I reach the end of this story or not.”
“Kim Dokja's salvation was cruel. Like rescuing a drowning person with a blade, those saved by him were inflicted an unhealable wound.”
Now I’d like to talk about Han Sooyoung. The woman who made the conscious choice to save that boy who thought he couldn’t be saved. I want to remind you, Kim Dokja isn’t anyone extraordinary. Which is why Han Sooyoung’s love for him is so.. special. At the end of the day, Kim Dokja was just a kid struggling with abuse and the arrest of his mother. A kid who liked to read. A lot of Kim Dokja’s story is about learning that it’s actually /okay/ to let people care about you. It’s not selfish to want people to love you, or to yearn for a family. To wish you could’ve had more than you did. Han Sooyoung gave up every single one of her nights and slept her days away to write for him. To most, Kim Dokja was just a lousy employee, a quiet guy who wasted his days away on his phone. But to Han Sooyoung, that man was worth destroying the entire world for. She made the /choice/ to save him. Her actions prove that you don’t need to be amazing to be worth saving. You don’t need to be the “main character,” and you don’t need to sacrifice yourself to be worthy of the care others so desperately want to give you. Sometimes, people just genuinely love you. Even when it feels impossible, or as if we are undeserving. Han Sooyoung making that decision. The decision to save Kim Dokja, to /love/ him. I think that’s one of the most powerful things we can do as human beings. To choose to be there for someone. To choose to show up every day. To /choose/ to do things that hurt because we want to ensure the wellbeing and happiness of another. Han Sooyoung would do it all over again. She wouldn’t take a moment back.
This brings me to YooHan—something we need to talk about more. Han Sooyoung essentially crafted Yoo Joonghyuk, looked at him and said: I am going to destroy your life to save someone. And Yoo Joonghyuk said: okay, I will let you destroy me. I will watch my world fall to pieces over and over again. I will suffer. I will be put through agony. I will question why any of this is happening to me. I will struggle every day with the meaning of my miserable life. And I will carry this burden with you. Han Sooyoung and Yoo Joonghyuk did everything they could to save that lonely Kim Dokja. I often think about secretive plotter when he found out about Oldest Dream. When he was exposed to the reality of his agony, when his tormentor was finally revealed. But when he set his eyes upon that sad, pathetic, lonely little boy crying and repeating “I am Yoo Joonghyuk,” it was all.. okay. His story had saved someone. Secretive plotter who has been drowning in an eternal misery was almost.. content. And Kim Dokj was confused by his reaction. He couldn’t comprehend why Secretive Plotter wasn’t lashing out at Oldest Dream as Dokja had tried to do. This couldn’t possible be the ending he wanted, right? How could he be okay with this. He should kill that monster. That /monster/. He should end his miserable life for all the torment he put him through. That monster.. is me. I am a monster. Who could love us. Who /would/ love something so vile and useless. Who would possibly care about the well being of me.
Yes. Han Sooyoung created Yoo Joonghyuk. And much of his story is about his sense of agency, struggling between the lines of what was written for him, and the choices he made based off his own free will. And while Yoo Joonghyuk was written /for/ Kim Dokja, Han Sooyoung never wrote that he would /love/ Kim Dokja. Again, he made a conscious decision. He made the conscious choice to love that man. Yoo Joonghyuk always felt as though things were out of his control, like his actions were not his own—a puppet, just as Secretive Plotter described him. But he /did/ make his own choices. He loved his companions. He loved Han Sooyoung. He loved Kim Dokja.
Han Sooyoung /chose/ to write that story. Kim Dokja /chose/ to read it. And to some extent, Yoo Joonghyuk /chose/ to live it.
I think orv has a lot of themes. But at its core I really do believe it’s about learning that even when we feel like the worst person, the most horrible, disgusting, and unlovable monster on planet earth, someone out there will choose to love you. Again, I say choose intentionally here. To choose to remember the things someone loves. To choose to be there when they need you. To /choose/ to shoulder their burdens despite your own which you are already carrying. Someone out there wants you to exist. Someone out there wants you to live. Orv teaches its readers that if we are all a little patient, maybe someday someone will choose to love you. Someone will decide that yes, you are worth moving Heaven and Hell for. I love you, despite your issues. I choose to love you because you can’t love yourself. I will show you how much I love you when words can’t express it. One day, I hope someone writes a story for you. And I hope that one day, you will no longer be lonely. And finally, understand what it feels like to be loved.

mommy issues!JK
you’re a good teacher, a great teacher.
fortunately (or unfortunately depending on where you stand), you’re a teacher to the best age group, which are kindergarteners. everyday, five days a week, you teach basic mathematics, tracing, shapes, letters, numbers, and even practice english with your class of 4-5 year olds and it’s a lot of fun. tedious at times, but it’s fun.
watching your students excitedly come to your class gives you the best feeling because you want your students to be excited to learn and know that besides being a teacher, you’re a friend too. when your students have bad days, you bring them to your emotions carpet and converse with them try to brighten their day. you’re a lot of fun too. everything you teach has something fun to it. cartwheels outside to test science theories, math scavenger hunts, candy as rewards; you just want your kids to be engaged.
you don’t consider yourself the best teacher but you definitely consider yourself the most compassionate because no one in this building understands or loves your kids as much as you do. however, that “love” you share with each of your students has sometimes become a bit difficult seeing as your newest 5 year old is a little possessive over you.
introducing jeon seol, your newest student who just turned 5 years old and is such a cutie. before i share the bad news, let’s talk about the good:
seol is a social butterfly..sometimes. he’s a vibe kind of child and if he feels as though you’re nice, then he’ll open up little by little. he’s very friendly and polite to his teachers no matter who they are even if his distaste for them can sometimes be a little obvious. besides being an expert with dinosaurs, he wants to be a scientist one day. he’s also very smart and does really well with all of his schoolwork (he’s a little stubborn too. he likes figuring things out on his own to make you proud).
now let’s go over the bad:
lately, seol has been hitting his classmates. at first, you let it slide because he’s only 5 but when he hit a child so hard it left a bruise, you had to mark it in his behavior chart. he throws small tantrums when you don’t always acknowledge him. he’ll pout, cry, or sometimes shut down like a computer if you don’t butter him up and the last thing is, he calls you mom and well, you’re beginning to feel like one because tending to his needs and his desire for you constant attention makes you feel like you’re more of his mother than teacher; blurring the lines a bit.
don’t get me wrong, you love the kid regardless but you also love ALL of your kids and if seol doesn’t stop then he could end up being suspended.
RIIIIIIIIINGGGGGG
“good morning nabi. good morning hanuel. good morning jihye and jimin! make sure you guys hang your stuff up and sit in your assigned seats” you tell your students as you wait at the doorway to greet more of your students.
you gasp “good morning seol!!”
the little boy basically runs into your arms and who are you to deny such a warm hug.
“are you excited for school today? you are? that makes me so happy” you smile “good morning, mr. jeon”
if you think seol is a cutie then let’s introduce the man who created the adorable rascal, jeon jungkook. the day he dropped off his son, he immediately turned heads and became the talk of the school. your teachers couldn’t get enough of the man even now as you’re talking to him you can see your co-teacher, chaeyoung, pretending to “hump” him.
you don’t know much about mr. jeon but you won’t deny his attractiveness. he’s got a baby face paired with a body made by gods buuuuuut, business and pleasure doesn’t mix well. you’re his kids teacher and judging from the rumor of his ‘wife’ or ‘baby mother’ you’re steering far away from him. he’s already the talk of the school, you don’t want to be the topic of conversation next. but it’s hard to not be the topic when he brings you gifts or sweet treats to apologize for his son’s behavior, just like now.
“mr. jeon” you gasp “you shouldn’t have. i told you to stop doing this because i feel in debt to you”
from afar, chaeyoung can’t help but listen in on the conversation you both are having. it’s so obvious he’s got a crush on you. she could see the hearts in his eyes from the moment he approached you.
“i think seol is adjusting well but i need to talk with you after school about his behavior chart. do you mind coming back to see me? of course if you’re too busy i can send an email”
~🫧
He’s always so eager to see your beautiful face in the morning, it may be one of the reasons why he gets up so early to get his son ready for school.
Jungkook wasn’t really the kind of man who would get up early in the morning but ever since he had his baby! he’s a changed man.
Just as now, as he stands in the doorway while you pick up Seol from the floor, he smiles as seol cuddles into you so easily.
“Hi Ms yn!!” he cannot help but blush because everyone is staring at you. But that is not the reason why he’s blushing. He’s always blushing whenever you talk to him or Look at him. Jungkook almost scoffs when you tell him to not bring you any gifts.
How can he not bring you any gifts? You’re a gift from God yourself. “Oh please it is the least I can do.” He bows, smiling, like a fool.
Although he’s looking really carefully at you because you’re just so beautiful and he cannot help but stare at you, “what? Oh okay sure!!! I’ll be there!” Are you giving him a golden opportunity right now?
He will get to see you once again, and talk to you even more privately, this is a good day. Although he is Not sure about what you have to say about his sons behavior. He hopes that everything is good.
Jungkook nods, as he says bye to seol, who doesn’t really care that his father is leaving because now he’s in your arms.
Seol thinks you always smell so pretty, just like his father says. “Ms yn… I’ll be back in in a few hours.. be good, champ, yeah?”

I still for the life of me can't believe that there are still people who think that Kimcom don't love Dokja and everything they did for Dokja , even the group regression was because they were being controlled by Oldest Dream.
⸢That, that couldn't have been their choice.⸥ A being that lived with a certain story for a very long time would eventually become unable to escape from that very story. Just like how it was for Agares, Metatron, the Apocalypse Dragon, and the Dokkaebi King, it was the same story for the 'Outer Gods', too. Perhaps, could it be that the choice they made had already been predetermined from the beginning? I shouted out in a crying voice. "He's the 'Oldest Dream'! He needs to die. If he's not dead, then your tragedies won't end! Your regression, <Star Stream>, all of them-!!" You must not get devoured by that 'story'. I don't need your sympathy. What I really truly want isn't a tale like this. [Applicable individual is not a 'Character'.] The 'Secretive Plotter' was now looking back at me with eyes that I couldn't recognise at all. From within a story that I hadn't read before, he was staring at me. It wasn't just him, however; Uriel, Lee Jihye, Kim Namwoon, and even Lee Hyunsung, too. [Applicable individual is not a 'Character'.] [Applicable individual is not a 'Character'.] [Applicable individual is not a 'Character'.] [Applicable individual is not a 'Character'.] I dazedly stared at the continuously-rising messages.
This whole part proves that they love Dokja genuinely and are not controlled by OD. It is basically proved from the beginning if we read it a bit more keenly. From the moment when Dokja "the anomaly" entered the 1864th round the puppet strings on the characters started loosening. We have to remember Oldest Dream is both most powerful and powerless God of the universe. The moment in the part above is when the puppet strings have completely torn from the characters trapped in the story which is TWSA. ORV is after all a love story from Kimcom to Dokja and vice versa. Not necessarily a romantic one but one which is filled with platonic and ambiguous love.

runner ups would include the theater dungeon, n'gai forest, 46th main scenario, and the great war of saints and demons!!!
thanks grace i had too much fun with this. ily

Hey Mama
Noze x Male Reader
1281 words
Tumblr media
Hours, weeks, and days spent practicing choreography just for a two-minute stage. Fierce, like a cat, yet still gorgeous, as her hips moved with unfettered energy—every mesmerizing move lightning quick, in perfect synergy, like she was born to dance. It was a hypnotizing performance, and you hadn’t moved a muscle, yet it felt like you were the one out of breath.
Those two minutes felt like an hour while you intently watched, but it was over far too quick. Afterward, you headed backstage in search of Noze, only to be found by her first. “Hey, you. Enjoy the show?”
“It wasn’t bad,” you said in jest. Noze punched your shoulder playfully.
“Ready to go home?”
“Yep!”
“Let’s go. My roommates won’t be home until later,” she said, and you knew her intentions with just one mischievous look.
Minutes later, you arrived at her quiet apartment, as you left shoes at the door as you got comfortable on her couch. “I’m going to shower. Wanna join me?” Noze asked, as she removed the red Dainese top from her body, tossed it on the ground, and smirked mischievously.
“I’ve got a better idea,” you said, as you got up off the couch. “Let me clean you up.“
“Saving water? That is a good idea. The environment will remember that.” Another playful smile, as Noze removed her matching red pants, then slipped her bra off her chest, and exposed her humble breasts. Not the biggest, but they made up in perkiness, with pretty nipples. It was time to get to work.
Like a snake, your hands wrapped around Noze’s slender waist, and your tongue and hands explored her body, finding every crevice, every nook and cranny, every wonderful curve of her sweaty glistening skin. Noze looked so beautiful onstage and off, and you licked and kissed everywhere possible—her sensitive neck, her collarbones, and in between her cleavage before you sucked on her taut nipples, then playfully bit her stiff swollen buds while she moaned.
“F–fuck…” A desperate cry, one that you wanted to hear again and again. Meanwhile, you kept alternating swollen nipples between your lips, as a hand slipped down into her panties, and one finger entered her wet heat.
“So wet—were you this wet on stage?” you asked, and slowly pumped in and out of her hot core, while her walls clenched tightly and coated your digits.
“Wouldn't you like to know?” Noze replied, while her body reacted in kind to your plunging fingers—first one, then two, barely able to move between the silky flesh.
“You looked so sexy. I love watching you dance.”
“I love you watching me, knowing how turned on you get. I hope you didn’t cream your pants in public, baby,” she teased.
“I can control myself.”
“Can you? I know you were thinking of all the things you wanted to do to me. I could see it in your eyes. ”
“You caught me.”
“I just know you too well. Now, I want you to strip. You’re wearing too many clothes.” Delicate palms pressed against your chest, and down you went after a playful shove that pushed you back onto the couch, and you toppled back onto the cushions. Noze watched intently as your shirt, pants, and boxers were removed in a flash. Once your cock was unleashed, so was the hunger in her eyes.
“I want your cock, and you're going to give it to me,” Noze demanded, as she pounced like a cat and landed on your lap. One kiss she took, ripe with desire as your cock throbbed in her small hand. “Fill me.”
Too impatient to remove her panties, Noze slipped them to the side, lined herself up and sank down to the hilt. Exchanged gasps filled the room. Warm wetness surrounded your cock, and her tight walls hugged every inch of flesh, with no plans of stopping while she bounced without any adjustment.
“Jihye, fuck, slow down.”
The intense pace caught you off guard, and you knew better than to tell a dancer to slow down, but the words escaped your lips like you had no control over them.
“Too much to handle? Should I stop? I’d hate for you to explode already, but you know I’d keep going.”
After taking a deep breath, you settled into the rhythm, and grew accustomed to the sharp sensations and squeezed Noze’s ass for support, while she held onto your shoulders. The view in between her spread legs as she impaled herself repeatedly on your cock was perfect, a performance just for two. Noze’s movements flowed like water, and her hips gyrated with as much power and enthusiasm as on stage, all while her pussy grew wetter and tighter.
“Fuck, Jihye, that feels amazing.”
“Doesn’t it? I love when you moan my name. I love how your cock feels inside me.” Noze’s expression never faltered, and your needy moans encouraged her to pick up the pace. Not long after her ass bounced on your cock effortlessly, using all the fluid movements of her body.
Being helpless wasn’t always a bad thing. Not when you were at the mercy of someone as ridiculously hot as Noze, who controlled your cock, and dictated when and where you were able to finish, or if you even got to at all. But you always did—because as much as you needed to, she needed you to even more.
“I want you to cum. Right after me, I want you to cum for me. Can you do that for me?”
“Y–yes, anything for you, Jihye.”
It felt like you just got started, like you just saw Noze ride your cock for the first time, but fuck, were you already so close. So was she, always mindful of each other’s pleasure, with only one way to end it. Careless moans turned into whispered breathing, and regretfully, neither of you could last much longer. But it wasn’t like this was the only time—no, Noze always planned for more.
“I’m gonna cum,” she said and cupped your face until she couldn’t take more. Harder and harder she went, as her warm wet walls gripped so harshly, and familiar wetness gushed everywhere. It was a desperate struggle to hold on tight to your own pleasure for just long enough for her to take hers, as her climax rocked her body.
That bright face grew contorted, as the gyrations of her hips traced circles, as she knew what was next. One look in your eyes, and one word muttered as hot breath blew against your ear. “Cum.”
Like a dam being broken, you filled Noze up to the absolute brim, more than you thought possible. With loud grunts and gasps, she milked every drop, every spurt of hot cum that flooded her pussy, until she claimed it all. It was a blessing the couch was leather.
“Good boy,” she cooed, even after the throbs of your cock weakened, but just her fiery gaze was enough to set you off again. “I’m going to actually need a shower now—”
“I’m home!” you both heard. Panic ensued, as the door swung open. Neither of you could move in your post-orgasm hazes, like your legs were made of stone.
“I thought you said your roommates weren’t going to be here?”
“That’s not my roommate,” Noze replied.
“Well, well, well.” The figure stepped through the door in a dramatic fashion, a curvaceous woman dressed in an orange dress.
“H–Hyewon!” Noze gasped.
“Unnie! Is this what happens when I introduce you to my friends!?”
“N–no, I can explain, it’s just—”
“I don’t need an explanation, I just hope the two of you left enough energy for me. I’ll be in the bedroom.”

relationships outside of sm
Tumblr media Tumblr media
JENNIE + LIAN: JENLI
so iconic omg like how they do it, i have no idea
they hang out all the time and lian is literally ALWAYS on jennie’s instagram
the two of them once had an instagram story conversation over pigtails
like,, jennie posted a picture of lian’s pigtails for that one bicycle performance on her story and captioned it “pigtail baby” and then lian reposted it on her own story with a picture of jennie’s pigtails, captioning it “pigtail eomma”
speaking of eomma, jennie is genuinely her mother
jennie takes her shopping all the time
and in return, lian buys her food
the interactions these two used to have at award shows were SO CUTE
everyone remembers when jennie pretty much yelled out lian’s name and she just came running over to the members of blackpink after taeyong let her leave :(
i’m crying just thinking about it help
jennie also posted a full on instagram post for lian on her birthday and had such a sweet caption with it
it was something like “my daughter is finally 21 today! i hope she has an amazing day and i can’t wait to see her later tonight to give her a gift :) haneullie, lots of love from jennie eomma”
SPEAKING OF THE GIFT,, jennie bought her a whole ass $9000 necklace from chanel because she knew that lian was looking for more
IM IN TEARS AND SO ARE YOU ADMIT IT RN
jenli kpop bestest duo
dispatch once thought jennie was on a date with a girl but it turned out to just be her walking lian home after going shopping with her so they never posted anything about it
they were embarrassed they got something wrong so i get it
omfg when news came out that lian and jinwoo broke up mama jennie was threatening to punch the shit out of him
Tumblr media
KEVIN + LIAN: LIMOON
what i’ve been waiting to write for so long okay here we go
so mf chaotic like there are compilations made of these two that scream “go crazy go stupid”
their time as guest mc’s for inkigayo was probably some of the best kpop content we’d gotten in a long ass time
KEVIN IS CAUTIOUS WHEN LETTING HER MEET HIS MEMBERS
cause she’s such a good friend to him and wtf why would he wanna share
“mine mine mine mine” constant dory vibes 24/7
lian thrives off of calling him by his korean name because she knows it annoys him
he’s constantly teasing her for having bagged milk in toronto so he deserves it
the one time lian and jacob talked to each other they seemed to be getting along too much for kevin’s liking so he really went:
“okay lian isn’t it time for you to go” because he WAS GETTING JEALOUSJCLSJX
their styles are pretty much complete opposites and everytime they take pictures together kevin never forgets to mention how off it all looks
“tf is that why are your clothes so boring”
“okay sNaKe pAnTs” because of that one eric moment on kpop daebak show where he said kevin had pants with snakes on them
ALSO BTW LIANS CLOTHES ARENT FUCKING BORING SHES JUST FANCY LIKE THAT
i’m getting heated let me calm down.
they normally speak in english to each other but since lian seems to be stuttering over her words when she isn’t speaking korean, he mixes in a few korean phrases every now and then to help her out
kevin is arguably the most hype every single time lian performs, like he really thinks there isn’t anything better
LIAN MAKES SURE TO UPDATE HER INSTAGRAM STORY WHENEVER TBZ HAVE A COMEBACK SO NCTZENS GO SUPPORT THEM
Tumblr media
LIA + LIAN: LILIA
more lian x the canadian line WOOHOO
lia spent her trainee days really looking up to lian and she’s even mentioned before that she’d love for itzy to get the chance to collab with her for a song
she really has her fingers crossed for that btw
they actually met during an award show when ryujin, chaeryeong and yuna all had to leave because it was past curfew
lian decided to sit next to them and during all the intermissions between performances she, lia and yeji conversed to pass time
they ended up growing a friendship together but lian has a stronger bond with lia
she loves all the girls either way but yk
lia and lian love going to cafes together and taking adorable pictures :(
like whenever lia posts on itzy’s instagram midzeys don’t exactly know whether or not lian would be on it too :0
like lian normally posts all the scenery pictures she gets to keep her instagram pleasing whereas lia posts the pictures the two of them take together
my heart </3
lian treats lia like a whole daughter because it isn’t often she finds girls that are younger than her
*screams in the fact that majority of sm’s female artists are all from 2015 and under*
like when i say lian SPOILS her i’m not joking
she will randomly call lia up like:
“hey i’m gonna get you out of that dungeon, come get some chicken with me”
and then they’ll just hang out together
but only if lian is out of the dungeon herself because wbk she ain’t treated very well </3
Tumblr media
EUNWOO + LIAN: WOOLI
their chemistry is fucking insane holy shit
like their acting for past to present was seriously so praised, netizens found it hard to believe it was all just for the show
dating rumours follow these two everywhere,, like everywhere
it’s one of the most popular ships inside ncity when it comes to lian and other idols
i kid you not one tweet said “chanhyeok treated jihye so well in past to present, i’m only wondering how well eunwoo would treat lian 👀”
LIKE STOP PUTTING IDEAS INTO PEOPLES HEADS YOURE KILING ME HERE ISTG
but yeah they do look really good together
and they’re an amazing pair for acting
when eunwoo started working with inyeop for true beauty, he said:
“hyung’s dating my girlfriend” because of the fact that both of them have acted with lian and BOTH of them dated her in the dramas
what a coincidence though
we all cried when we saw chanhyeok and jihye kiss for the first time DONT LIE
EUNWOO FOLLOWS HER ON INSTAGRAM
and they wished each other happy birthday on their instagram stories
there’s actually people who like to think that they dated while filming for past to present andddd they radiate big delulu vibes
like you know liskook shippers? wooli shipped are kinda the same, but not as intense (thank god)
BUT CAN WE BLAME THEM LIKE THEIR CHEMISTRY? THE WAY THEY TALKED TO EACH OTHER? PLEASE
they took a lot of cute pictures together behind the scenes (ノ﹏ヽ)
Tumblr media
MOMO + LIAN: LIMO
DANCER DUO DANCER DUO
this ship isn’t actually as popular as we would like it to be, but nonetheless people love limo
a lot of interactions during award shows !!
like for example momo’s fancams always captured her dancing perfectly to lian’s choreo
and lian smiling in momo’s direction
i love them
when lian found out about heechul and momo’s relationship, she asked momo if she was her mom now because of how much of a father figure she considers heechul to be JDFJK
“i mean sure”
they’ve actually done a vlive together before (ᗒᗨᗕ)
it was when lian visited her at the twice dorms and they ended up getting bored so they decided to do a vlive in the living room
THEY PLAYED DARE OR DARE AND LIAN HAD TO DO THE TEARS CHALLENGE (so chan whee) ON MOMOS KARAOKE MACHINE
her throat was dry for the rest of the night
after seeing momo’s hair for the i can’t stop me era, lian actually wanted to cut it like that
but she decided against it because she loves her long hair too much
the two of them met on hit the stage where they competed against each other in a freestyle dance battle
after that they just started casually talking over the phone and became great friends
with the way momo talks about lian, you’d think they’re dating-
“oh, lian- she’s so pretty! i love her a lot!”
and the same goes for lian, she loves talking about momo’s dancing skills
Tumblr media
JACKSON + LIAN: JACKLIAN
her dad :/
adopted her with amber liu like a year ago so now she’s just his daughter
supports each other like crazy not even joking
jackson promotes her on instagram and twitter 24/7
THEY HAVE SO MANY INTERACTIONS THANK GOD
lian was once given a ridiculously short dress while attending an award show and jackson gave her his jacket to wear over her legs because she wasn’t provided a blanket :(
(keep in mind, she went there without the members!)
lian added all his music to her playlist :)
once got drunk together and spent like three hours doing karaoke but it’s okay cause it was fun
speaking of getting drunk, jackson’s the cool dad that lets her do whatever she wants
he has his protective moments where he’s like “ma’am where are you going on that short of a dress” but he’s also like “hey wanna go get chicken and soju”
they both appeared on a radio show together as guests and they ruined the whole broadcast because they were too loud
like they kept getting out of their seats to go wave at all the fans outside the window and they were just fighting back and forth about whether or not lian’s extensions look real
according to jackson, they’re “NOT AUTHENTIC ENOUGH- LOVE YOUR HAIR FOR WHAT IT IS, LIANNA HANEUL BAE.” lian’s hair lives matter :/
PLSSS WHEN HYOSEOP AND LIAN STARTED DATING- no
jackson was so proud that his good friend was smooching his other good friend but the protective dad instincts really kicked in
“break her heart and you die no cap”
was surprisingly chill when they broke up though, he was just glad lian didn’t cry
Tumblr media
SUNMI + LIAN: SUNLI
SUNMI IS HER MOM OHMYGOD
so many interactions
honestly took lian under wing once she debuted as a soloist
female kpop soloists gotta have each other’s backs in this industry man :(
sunmi calls lian her princess SOBS
lian always hugs sunmi at award shows, like if they’re sitting close together
or if they’re standing next to each other on stage
you bet your ass lian is gripping onto sunmi for dear life
did a photoshoot together for marie claire korea
they’re so hot bro
BUT THEY FIRST MET ON WEEKLY IDOL NOT LONG AFTER LIAN DEBUTED AS A SOLOIST
they were kinda awkward ngl uh
but by the end of it they were besties :DD
and they’ve been besties ever since
lian is the ceo of doing dance covers for sunmi’s songs
cmon lian we’re waiting for tail 👀
sunmi has actually met lian’s grandma </3
like her and lian were hanging out at the dorms while the boys were out on a schedule and her grandma just randomly showed up with homemade food so that was definitely a win
Tumblr media
BANG CHAN + LIAN: LICHAN
they’ve been friends for a LOOONGGG time
and chain’s known her since dating back to like, smrookies era when lian was still a red velvet member
like at that time she had no idea he existed, but he was keeping up with her daily :(
chan plays her music on vlives all the time and he always knows the dance moves
like he just dances along in his chair and mumbles the lyrics
we love to see it
a lot of fans ship them together
SURPRISE SURPRSIE AH
only because chan gives off big pining energy
lian only looks at him like “:D” whereas he looks at her like “♡•♡”
kinda sad but
lian promotes him on live so often HVKSVU
“my friend chan is coming back with his group soon, you should check it out! :)”
and the way she just says “my friend chan” LIKE ITS SO OBVIOUSLY A FRIENDZONE BUT HE THINKS ITS ADORABLE
he once got a comment on a vlive to react to lian moments, obviously complying because who wouldn’t
there was this one clip of her saying “my friend chan from stay kids!” and whoever edited the compilation added in squishy noises right after while zooming in on her face
AND CHAN BLUSHED SO HARD NOO
“oh- hahaha, uhh, she’s so cute aw hahahah”
Tumblr media
ASHLEY + LIAN: ASHLI
oh god not another lian x mom ship
ASHLEY LOVES LIAN WOAH
like she’s submitted lian’s resume to bm so many times so they could be part of the big tiddie committee together
ashley is constantly, and i mean constantly, reposting all of lian’s posts on her story with captions like “LOOK AT HER GO”
and lian has even discovered all the cool instagram filters because of ashley, and now we get the quality content from her that WE DESERVEEEEE
back when lian’s album came out, all ashley’s story really was was just screenshots of her streaming all the songs and calling them bops
when they first met in person after texting back in forth, ashley spammed her instagram story with pictures of lian that she took without her looking
these two radiate a lot of “YES GIRL WORKKK ITTT TURN THIS WAY OKAYYY POSE POSE POSE” energy
lian’s been featured in one of ashley’s youtube videos and it was when they met for the first time :)
they exchange a lot of gifts through the mail
like lian once found a mug when shopping with doyoung and she thought that it would fit ashley’s taste so she sent it to her apartment
and ever since then they just send random little gifts to each other’s houses
it’s so cute
MATCHING BUCKET HATS THEY HAVE MATCHING BUCKET HATS !!!!!!
ashley talks about lian all the time
she always says that for someone so young, she’s accomplished a lot and she’s really proud of her
they wanna do tiktoks with each other but they never have the time </3
lian spam comments on ashley’s instagram like “WOAH” “OKAYYYY” “YESYESYES”

dear j. chapter 7
close shave
chapter 1 | chapter 2 | chapter 3 | chapter 4 | chapter 5 | chapter 6 | chapter 7 Y's POV
"What are you looking at?" I immediately hid the letter under my pillow and turned to see my roommate, Jihye, standing in the doorway. She laughed in disbelief while shaking her head before saying "You know I've been standing here for quite some time, right? I know what you slipped under your pillow."
I pouted and pulled out the letter from underneath my pillow and handed it to her. After skimming through the letter, she raised her eyebrows in surprise and broke out into a huge smile. She exclaimed "You did it! He noticed you! Please tell me you're going to the game!" I sighed and whined "I don't have choice! Jeno is playing and he wants me to be there." She laughed and said "Time for you to see Prince Charming up close and stop hiding behind walls like a creep."
The morning came quicker than I expected it to be, and I woke up bright and early, staring at my wardrobe. "Princess." I turned and saw Jihye rubbing her eyes. I smiled sheepishly and asked "Did I wake you?" She shook her head before letting out a yawn. When her eyes finally focused, she remarked sarcastically "I thought someone said she didn't want to see Jaehyun Sunbae? Trying to make an impression now, aren't we?" I let out an exasperated cry and exclaimed "Please stop teasing me and help me, Jihye!"
She laughed and came over, before pulling out a pair of ripped skinny jeans and a black crop top. She smiled and said "A simple outfit but shows off everything right." I went to change, and she helped me pick out a chain necklace and a matching watch strap for my Apple Watch. I pressed a kiss onto her cheek and said "Thank you, life saviour!" Before putting on my baseball cap, grabbing my stuff and leaving for school.
I looked into my bag, ensuring that I had an empty letter in my bag so I could write a quick letter after the game and leave it in Jaehyun Sunbae's locker.
After class, Jaemin was indeed waiting outside my lecture theatre, and he grabbed my wrist before saying "I'm not letting you out of my sight." I sighed and said "I'm not leaving, Nana." He let out a big smile and patted my head gently before saying "That's a good girl." I stuck my tongue out at him as we headed to the sports hall where the game was going to be held. We found good seats that gave us a good view of the court, and the first person I spotted was Jaehyun Sunbae, in his No. 77 jersey and white Nike headband. Jaemin nudged me before saying "Stop smiling to yourself, you're creeping me out." I turned to him and tried to defend myself, but ended up a stuttering mess.
Jeno spotted us while he was warming up, and we waved which he reciprocated. Jaehyun Sunbae noticed us, and I unconsciously pulled my cap down. Jaehyun Sunbae waved to us as well, and many girls around us screamed while waving ecstatically, thinking that he was waving to them.
We screamed our voices hoarse during the game, shouting encouragements and cheers for our school team as they played ferociously against the rival team. We were tied to the last second, when Jaehyun Sunbae made an amazing three-point buzzer beater shot. The whole stadium erupted into cheers as our university won. I tapped Jaemin on the thigh and signalled to him that I would be leaving, and he said "Aren't you going to stay to congratulate Jeno?"
"And risk getting seen by Jaehyun Sunbae? No thank you. Plus." I pulled him closer to me and whispered into his ear "I'm gonna write a letter for Jaehyun Sunbae." He said "Ah...Okay, run along, be careful." I nodded and left, dropping Jeno a quick congratulatory text.
Jaehyun's POV
"Amazing shot, Jaehyun!" All my teammates cheered for me and gave me high fives. I smiled ecstatically, it always feels giddy to win game. I hope Y was here to see it.
After celebrating with my teammates in the locker room, my junior teammate Jeno came up to me and said "Hyung, Jaemin came too." I said "Really? Let's go see him. After that, Hyung will buy you guys some food." We went out to the bleachers to meet Jaemin, and he hugged me before saying "Congratulations, Hyung." I said "Thank you, Jaemin. Come on, Hyung will buy you guys dinner." We headed out of the hall and suddenly, "Oh! I need to grab my laptop from my locker, I'll meet you guys at the cafeteria." The two younger boys nodded and I made my way to my locker.
I was almost there, still smiling with the giddy feeling from the game, when I noticed someone decked out in black standing in front of my locker. Black baseball cap, crop top, ripped skinny jeans. Could it be?
"Y?" I saw her visibly stiffen, and she hurriedly turned and walked away quickly. I was about to run after her when I heard someone call out "Jaehyun Hyung!" I turned and saw one of my juniors, Chen Le. I said "Oh, Chen Le!" I turned back and saw that she was gone.
Shit, I missed her. Y's POV
I leaned against the wall as I put a hand over my chest. That was a heck of a close shave. Thank god.

Of Distant Dreams (That Can't Come True)- Lee Jihye/Na Bori
Read on ao3 here
Spoilers for the epilogue! Takes place throughout the group regression. We barely get to see any of Na Bori in canon, but I still have a lot of feels for Jihye's relationship with her. So many feels in fact, that I actually wrote something that isn't mainly fluff
It's a little messy, but it's not my usual style, so I'm still pretty proud of it
Warnings: Angst, unhappy ending (just to be clear, NBR doesn't die again, but the two of them separate), NBR's death is mentioned a lot (so choking warning), nightmares, mention of skipping meals, ask for other warnings
•~•~•~•~•~•
"Jihye-yah!" The door to Taepung Girls' broadcasting studio slammed open.
Na Bori ran through the entrance, panting. "Jihye-yah, what's going on?" Then she froze, her gaze falling on Han Sooyoung. "Who is this person?"
Lee Jihye noticed that Han Sooyoung looked back and forth between the two girls. Then she stared at Na Bori, and Lee Jihye wondered if she knew who Na Bori was. She could, considering that she'd read the beginning of Ways of Survival. Han Sooyoung may not have known much, but based on the way her eyes widened, she must have known enough. She told Lee Jihye that she'd move on ahead to the other areas, along with some instructions.
"Bori-yah, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in the classroom?" Lee Jihye tried to keep her voice neutral, but the overwhelming relief she felt caused her to sound breathy instead. She knew that Na Bori would survive this time, she'd made sure of it, but actually seeing her friend alive … she wanted to cry. She did it. Na Bori didn't die this time.
"I should be asking you that question," Na Bori said, too overwhelmed by what was going on to notice the look on Lee Jihye's face. "Everything that's been going on… the dokkaebi, all the insect eggs, coins and some kind of scenario. You know how that apocalyptist Selena Kim said there was going to be an apocalypse, is this it? And then you came up to me and you…" she took the box out of her pocket. "You gave me this. Jihye, what's going on?"
Lee Jihye didn't know what to say. How was she supposed to tell her that the Lee Jihye she knew no longer existed? That she was from a different worldline, and that she'd killed Na Bori in order to survive? That she has come to this worldline so she could save someone? Sometimes it was a struggle to even look at her, when all she could see was the person that she'd choked to death.
"Bori-yah, it'll be alright," she said, before wincing.
⸢"Jihye-yah, it'll be alright,"⸥ Na Bori had told her.
She took a deep breath, then slowly exhaled. Then she did it again. "I'll explain everything to you later." How was Master able to do this? How was he able to regress and then look into the eyes of the people he'd cared for, and pretend that everything was okay? How was he able to do this for every regression that he'd lived? "I'll make sure you'll be okay."
Na Bori was not a person who was easily scared, she was probably one of the most fearless people that Lee Jihye knew. But at that moment, she looked terrified. She wanted to hold her tight and whisper assurances, but she couldn't do that.
"Jihye… please tell me what's going on. You've been acting weird for the past month, and now all this is happening. I'll help you with whatever you're doing. Please crybaby, just tell me."
Lee Jihye wiped her eyes, not realizing that she'd been crying. "That scenario that everyone received earlier," she began. "It's the beginning of something awful. But me and many of the others, we're going to help everyone and clear the scenarios. It'll be okay."
"Was that unnie who left one of the people you know?"
She nodded.
"Will you be staying here?"
She froze. "I'll be here for a little bit, but I'll be gone in a few hours."
She wanted to stay with Na Bori, hold her in her arms while Na Bori would lovingly call her 'crybaby', but she couldn't. She had the scenarios to clear, and this wasn't her Na Bori. The Na Bori from your regression is dead, she reminded herself. It was a painful thought, but enough to get her to concentrate on what was important.
The two of them stayed in the broadcasting room as Lee Jihye awaited the second scenario. She gave out more instructions, advising them to not act rashly, and that everything would be okay. Na Bori sat there silently, and she could feel her gaze on her  but she wasn't able to look back.
After she was finished, she picked up her bag and sword.
"Are you leaving now?" Na Bori asked.
She nodded. "I have to go meet up with the others."
"Okay." And that was it. Except Na Bori walked closer and closer , and Lee Jihye closed her eyes, unable to look at her. A pair of lips pressed against her cheek. "Come back soon, okay?"
The next few seconds were a blur. She had no idea if she'd spoken or merely nodded, before exiting the room. What she did know was that Na Bori had whispered 'I love you, Jihye-yah' and then Lee Jihye was running. Her footsteps were loud, her eyes burning, breaths heavy, and heart pounding. Even then, those four words continuously echoed in her mind, unable to be drowned out.
Once she was no longer able to keep on running, she fell to her knees and cried.
•~•~•~•~•~•
Lee Jihye pulled out a piece of paper to write on. As she wrote, she rested her other hand against her mouth to hide her smile. She reached over to her side and passed the note to Na Bori, careful to make sure that the teacher wouldn't see. Pretending to pay attention to the lesson, she looked at Na Bori, who was reading the note.
Na Bori smiled softly, her eyes sparkling in the evening light. Lee Jihye couldn't help but stare, because she was so beautiful. It'd only been recently since she'd realized that her feelings for her friend were romantic, and ever since, she'd been finding herself staring a lot more often. It probably wasn't a good idea to be staring so much. But every time she saw Na Bori smile at her, the way that their fingers would brush against each other more often, she couldn't help but wonder if her feelings might actually be reciprocated.
A finger tapped her arm, and Lee Jihye blinked, not realizing that Na Bori had already written back.
'Hey, let's go to the movies tomorrow for lunch,' the note read.
Lee Jihye wrote a reply, then passed the note back. The smile on Na Bori's face was even wider now, and-
There was a flash of light. When it faded, there was a ball of fluff the size of her head with cute black eyes and a mischievous smile. A dokkaebi.
No. Lee Jihye rose to her feet, her chair slamming into the desk behind her. She knew what this was. No. No no no. Not this again.
She ignored the dokkaebi as it spoke, and stood next to Na Bori. "I'll protect you this time," she whispered. "I won't let you die."
She grabbed her arm and the two of them were running around the classroom, ignoring the protests from her teacher. The dokkaebi seemed confused, but it continued on with its speech. She just needed to find something, anything that would allow for the two of them to survive. Hadn't there been an ant problem in the classroom recently? She just needed to find two of them, so they could kill them and clear the first scenario. She already knew how this scenario was going to end, she'd gone through it dozens of times in her head. This time, things would be different.
Except… there were no insects in the classroom, not a single one.
"Jihye!"
She whirled around and saw Na Bori in front of her, gripping a chair that one of her classmates was now using as a weapon. Right. Most of her classmates would try to escape the classroom, only to find a barrier that prevented them from leaving. They'd pound on the doors and hope for a miracle. Some would return to their seats because the teacher instructed it, the teacher would try and assure everyone that everything would be fine, except it wouldn't be. However, some would panic after reading the clear conditions, and they'd try and kill someone so they could live. In the end though, all of them would die, even Na Bori.
This time, we'll survive together, Bori-yah .
Lee Jihye helped Na Bori, and with their combined strength, they shoved the student back, and set the chair down.
"Stay back!" She warned.
The student's eyes were filled with fear, but slowly, she began to back away. Lee Jihye scanned the classroom again, but there was nothing. The countdown was almost up. What was she supposed to do? She could murder one of her classmates, they'd die anyway. She'd ruthlessly killed other people in the later scenarios without hesitation. But still, the thought made her nauseous, maybe it was because these people were ones that she knew . She'd been friends with some of them.
Warm hands gripped her own, and guided them to wrap around a neck.
"Kill me, Jihye-yah," Na Bori said calmly, as the head of one of her classmates' exploded.
"No," she replied. "No! I won't! I won't do it!" She tried to move her hands, but Na Bori pressed down harder, drawing out a cough.
"Jihye-yah, it'll be alright," she rasped. "You must live."
No. No no nonono no! She was stronger now, she could get through this, she would take her hands off of Na Bori's neck and they'd find a way to live, even as more and more of the bodies around her fell, blood gushing.
"You should be allowed to live too!" She screamed, her eyes burned with tears. "You shouldn't have to be the one to make this sacrifice!"
"Please crybaby, live." Somehow, Na Bori pressed down even harder.
Why couldn't she… Why couldn't she find the strength to overpower her? Why couldn't she save her friend just one time? (Distantly, she knew that if she didn't make the kill, she'd die too).
Then, with the last of her breath, she rasped out those haunting words. "I love you, Jihye-yah."
Her body went limp in her hands.
Lee Jihye jolted awake. She wasn't in Taepung Girls' High School, but was underground in a subway station. It was just another nightmare. That same damned memory replayed over and over again.
But why did it always feel so real? Her hands were in front of her, fingers and wrist bent as if she'd actually been choking someone. And she could see the face of Na Bori, her eyes red as she choked. Her hands trembled, but were unable to move.
She knew that this wasn't real, but it still took at least five minutes until the image of Na Bori disappeared, and the phantom weight on her hands was released.
[The constellation 'Maritime War God' would like to assure you that your friend is safe.]
"Thanks, General-nim," she murmured.
It might not have meant that much, but it eased the urge to run back to Na Bori and make sure that she was alright. But she was safe, she was alive.
Lee Jihye stood up and began to walk around through the tunnels. She wanted to run, but it was late at night and she didn't want to wake up other people who were sleeping. She aimlessly wandered, before she saw a man with a black coat sitting against a wall, tending to his sword.
"You should be sleeping, Lee Jihye," Yoo Joonghyuk said, not looking up at her.
"I know, Master," she replied, before sitting down next to him. She stared at the wall in front of her. "How do you do this every regression?"
In this regression, she hadn't opened up to him that much, but he knew her in the previous ones, so he knew what she was referring to.
"I kept my distance from the people I cared about," he said. "If I didn't become too close to them, then their deaths wouldn't bother me as much."
Lee Jihye knew that. When he'd first met her, he rescued her, gave her a sword, then told her to join him. He helped her survive, but they didn't spend that much time talking, unless it was about the upcoming scenario. He wasn't completely closed off, he often helped her train her skills. But he'd locked his heart away and pretended that he didn't know her.
But she knew that she couldn't do that. She couldn't just pretend that nothing had happened, and it was even harder to do when she was with Na Bori.
"It's difficult, and it doesn't become easier," he continued. "I was only able to look forward. My only goal was clearing the scenarios, that was all I focused on. I'm sorry that I can't tell you something more useful than that."
His hand rested on her back, gently rubbing circles. The parental gesture felt a little odd, coming from him. While she'd heard from Kim Dokja that he'd had a child in the past (meaning, he knew how to be a parent), Master rarely ever acted this gently except to his sister, Yoo Mia. He might not have much advice for her, but he understood her pain, he tried to help, and it did help, even if only a little bit.
She shifted to lay down. She knew she wouldn't fall back asleep easily, but it was better than getting no rest. Master said nothing, he just wordlessly took off his jacket and draped it over her. Sleep didn't come easy, but she didn't have any more nightmares for the remainder of the night.
•~•~•~•~•~•
With all the knowledge that their group had, the scenarios were cleared rapidly. The dokkaebi weren't prepared, so they had more downtime while they waited for the next scenario to be prepared. Often, Lee Jihye went to check on Na Bori, who had joined together with the rest of her classmates. They'd talked a few times, but since they were always in a group, they weren't able to talk about certain subjects. (She could see that Na Bori really wanted to ask her for answers. But she wasn't ready to give them to her just yet, not when looking at her was still so painful).
Of course, Lee Jihye couldn't hold off on having that conversation forever. She'd been going on one of her runs when a second pair of footsteps joined her. She turned to see who it was, surprised to see that it was Na Bori.
"It's been a while since we were able to run like this, Jihye-yah," she said, voice calm, but Lee Jihye could sense something dangerous in her tone.
"It has," she agreed, not knowing what else to say.
"You know, you could have told me that you were one of those regressors, right? I would've kept it a secret if you needed me to."
She sounded too calm about it, as if she didn't fully grasp what it meant to regress.
Lee Jihye took a deep breath. She had to tell her now. "I'm not the Lee Jihye that you know. She won't ever be coming back."
As she expected, Na Bori froze mid-step, stumbling. Lee Jihye instinctively moved to catch her, but once she noticed their proximity, she backed away.
"Isn't regression like time travel?" Na Bori asked, not saying anything about Lee Jihye suddenly moving away. "It's obvious that you've gone through the scenarios before, and then something bad must have happened, so you and all those people you were with time traveled back to fix everything."
"That's not how it works."
"Then tell me how it works, Lee Jihye! How am I supposed to understand if you don't explain?"
"This world is just one of thousands- maybe millions or billions. Regression is like time travel, but it's not. I'm not from this worldline, my consciousness has just been transported here. The Lee Jihye you know won't be coming back."
Na Bori looked up at her, serious. "And how long have you been here?"
"A month before the scenarios."
"Were your childhood memories different from mine? In your worldline, were we not best friends? Were we not on the track team together? Did I not ever call you a crybaby?"
"All those things did happen. Bu-"
"Then you're still the same person that I know and love. You've changed, but I'm willing to get to know those parts of you. You're always going to be you." Na Bori was shorter than Lee Jihye, but at that moment, she stood so much taller.
It was like when Lee Jihye was teased for crying when she was younger, and Na Bori told the others off. She was physically weaker, but she had always been stronger. Lee Jihye couldn't handle it.
"When I'm done saving this world, I'm leaving!" She blurted. "I'll be going back to my worldline and you'll never be able to see me again!"
She was crying again , she'd been doing a lot of that recently. Na Bori looked almost broken from her words, her lips trembling, skin pale, and eyes wide. She took a step closer, and Lee Jihye was too shocked to step back. Na Bori cupped her face and wiped away her tears.
"Tell me, crybaby, did something happen to me in your worldline? You're not good at hiding your emotions, did you think I wouldn't notice that ever since you've come here, you flinch every time you look into my eyes or I call you crybaby? Is that why you refuse to skip class with me? Is that why even now, you're still trying to run away?"
Yes! She wanted to scream. "In my worldline, you died in the first scenario," she whispered. "I killed you. I had to live without you for years, and I don't know what to do with myself now that you're right here in front of me."
"I don't blame you for what you've done," Na Bori said, even though she looked almost horrified. "You saved my life this time."
Of course you don't blame me, you told me to kill you. I saved you here, but I couldn't save you in my world.
"When the scenarios are over, before you leave, I want the two of us to have a full day to ourselves, okay?" Na Bori said. "A good day for you to remember. I'm sure she'd want that for you, a day for you to relax and just live ."
⸢"You must live, "⸥ Na Bori had told her on that day.
Lee Jihye slowly nodded. "She would want that."
Na Bori's hand moved from her face to her hand, and squeezed it gently. For once, Lee Jihye allowed for that little bit of physical contact again, and squeezed back.
•~•~•~•~•~•
While the scenarios were a lot easier compared to the first time, it didn't mean that they weren't difficult. Lives were still lost, and there were several close calls for the members of Kim Dokja's Company. As the difficulty began to ramp up more and more, Lee Jihye began to have nightmares that were slightly different from the ones that she'd normally get.
Each one started off differently. Sometimes she was sitting with Na Bori, before one of the dokkaebi created a sub-scenario that was difficult to clear. Sometimes she was fighting with her family, and an outer god would be summoned. Other times, she'd go to Taepung Girls' High School, and would receive the bad news from one of the people in Na Bori's group.
Each one of those nightmares had one thing in common: Na Bori's death. Lee Jihye had managed to save her from dying in the first scenario, but what if she died a different way? What if Lee Jihye wasn't there to protect her? What if she was, but still wasn't strong enough to save her?
Her hands would tremble not unlike they had when she was the one to kill her friend. On one of those nights, when the imagery was particularly graphic, she got up and sought out Na Bori. Her sponsor told her that Na Bori was safe, and realistically, she knew that, but she needed to see that she was okay. Just to see her once, even if it was just her sleeping figure.
As she entered the building where their group was staying, Lee Jihye enabled Ghost Walk so she wouldn't wake anyone up. It didn't take long to find Na Bori. She stood there and watched the rise and fall of her chest, each breath grounding her to reality. She was alive, she was safe.
After a few minutes, Lee Jihye realized what exactly she'd been doing. She turned to leave, then noticed Na Bori shifting, before sitting up.
"Jihye, is that you?" She whispered.
Lee Jihye paused, embarrassed at getting caught. "Y-yeah."
"Is everything alright?"
"I'm fine," she lied. "I'll leave now."
"Wait. You've come all the way here, let's go outside for a little bit."
Lee Jihye opened her mouth to say no, that it was fine, but Na Bori was already getting up. She took her hand and led her outside so they could sit down.
"Crybaby," Na Bori murmured. "Did you have a nightmare?"
Lee Jihye nodded slowly. To anyone else, she might not have said anything. But Na Bori had already seen her when she was weak, so she knew she could tell her. "I dreamed that you died again."
"Well, I'm right here. So there's no reason to cry."
Lee Jihye looked down. Na Bori was here, but when it was time to go back to her own worldline, she'd no longer be there.
"Do you want to hold my hand or something? Something to ground you?"
What she wanted was to hold her tight, hide away from all the scenarios. But was it right? It was Na Bori, but not her Na Bori. Her intention was to save Na Bori, that was all she had to do. She couldn't let herself get too close. It was too dangerous, she'd lose sight of everything that she'd been living for over four years.
"I can't. I…" she trailed off, not knowing what to say. In so many worldlines, the two of them were never able to get together because of the first scenario. In this one, they finally managed to both survive, except even now, they'd never be able to have a happy ending together.
"You loved her, didn't you?" she asked. "The same way I love you."
Lee Jihye loved her so much, it hurt. "...I still do." Even years after her death, Lee Jihye continued to love her just as fiercely as she did in the past.
"I know that you said that you'll leave eventually, but shouldn't we make the time we have left memorable? If you need me, I'll help, I want to help you." Her hand moved, and rested next to Lee Jihye's- close but not enough to touch.
It was a deliberate movement, one that gave Lee Jihye the choice of whether she would accept the contact or not? It'd help, it'd relieve some of her stress, knowing that Na Bori was here. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to stay just this once…
Before she could back down, Lee Jihye rested her hand on top of Na Bori's. She layed down and closed her eyes, hoping to commit the feel of the warm hand to memory.
•~•~•~•~•~•~•
Lee Jihye thought that the end of this regression would end more happily. They'd managed to save the world once more, but they were unable to save Kim Dokja- the one who they'd all wanted to save.
His soul had scattered across thousands- countless worldlines, and Lee Jihye had no idea what to do. The days that went by were a blur, she hardly ate or slept. All she could think about was Kim Dokja's frail body, just laying there.
"Jihye-yah."
Since they failed, what was going to happen now?
"Jihye-yah."
Was that all? Was it over?
"Lee Jihye!" Na Bori's panicked voice brought her out of her thoughts.
"Oh, Bori-yah, were you saying something?"
"Jihye please, you need to take care of yourself. You've skipping meals, haven't you?"
"I'm not hungry," Lee Jihye said.
"I know I don't understand everything about the guy you wanted to save, only that he meant a lot to you. But would he want you to be like this?"
"It's not like I ever wanted him to sacrifice his f*cking life over and over again! I didn't ask for anyone to sacrifice their life for me!"
Her throat was hoarse from the lack of use, and the screaming didn't help at all. But what was she supposed to do? Not one, but two people decided that they'd sacrifice their lives. Kim Dokja, and Na Bori from her regression. But all Lee Jihye wanted was to live the rest of her life with the people she loved. Why were they the ones who had to make all the sacrifices?
Na Bori didn't say anything, and while she hadn't done anything, she looked a little guilty.
"I know it wasn't you who did what she did. You're her, but you're still different from her. It's just…" Lee Jihye trailed off.
"Stupid," Na Bori muttered. "I'm here to comfort you and you're comforting me. And I think that… nevermind. You're leaving tomorrow, right?"
"Yeah…" In just one day, she'd be leaving and she'd be going back to her own worldline. She'd be going back to a world where she wouldn't be able to see Kim Dokja, but she also wouldn't be able to see Na Bori again.
But maybe it was for the better. This Na Bori had her own life to live, just like Lee Jihye had hers. She'd love to stay with this Na Bori, but how much of it was to stay with her best friend, compared to the idea of having a Na Bori? She was Na Bori, with all the same memories that the one that she knew had, but they weren't the same, no matter how much she wanted to think otherwise. Not for the first time, she reminded herself that the Na Bori she knew was dead.
"Jihye-yah."
Lee Jihye blinked, and saw that Na Bori had food with her. She recognized that it was her favourite- and it'd been a long time since she'd last been able to have it. Maybe she was a little hungry, though she wasn't sure if she'd be able to eat so much.
She opened her mouth to say something about that, but was surprised when a spoon was put into her mouth.
"Remember when I got sick, and you insisted on feeding me soup even though I refused, and then eventually you just fed me while I was in the middle of arguing?" Na Bori asked with a smile.
"I remember that." Lee Jihye smiled back at her. It was strange, speaking about memories that happened with a different version of the person. It made her feel a little guilty, it felt wrong to be doing this. "The way you gaped at me was hilarious."
Her smile must have seemed a little fake (it wasn't, but it was), because Na Bori didn't say anything after that. The two of them sat in silence, Lee Jihye not in the mood to say much, and Na Bori having recognized it. She just wordlessly continued to feed her, until she could no longer eat anymore.
"Is there anywhere you want to go?" Na Bori asked.
She tried to think of a place, but couldn't think of any. But knowing that this was the last day she could spend with Na Bori, she suggested, "Let's just take a walk."
She nodded, and they went outside and walked around the streets of Seoul. Lee Jihye was still used to the sight of destruction, but in this regression, the damage wasn't so bad. With the huge failure looming, it was vaguely reassuring to see that at least this time, they were able to save thousands and millions of lives.
They passed by a PC Bang, and Na Bori suggested that they go inside. Out of the two of them, it was Lee Jihye who played more video games, though Na Bori could get quite competitive. Lee Jihye won more games, but that was because she had more experience. It felt almost like the days before the scenarios, and she wasn't sure how to feel about that. After that, they walked around some more before going to watch a movie. Lee Jihye already cried easily when it came to movies, but with everything that went on, it was impossible to hold them back.
Na Bori turned to her, a teasing smile on her face, similar to the moment when Lee Jihye had realized her feelings. Lee Jihye had been crying, Na Bori lovingly teased her, and then she had the realization that oh, she truly wished that she could live the rest of her life like this, with her.
But now, it was a dream that was so far out of reach. In one day, she was going to leave the world behind. Even after the movie was over, she couldn't stop crying. Na Bori turned to her, her hand instinctively moving towards her face, before she realized what was going on and instead taking out a tissue.
"The movie wasn't that sad, crybaby. The one we watched right before the scenarios was way more emotional."
It wasn't just the movie that left her so emotional, it was everything else. But there was another thing that bothered her.
"I'm not… I'm not the Lee Jihye you know," she said. "I'm not her."
"What are you talking about? Jihye-yah is Jihye-yah."
"But I'm not her. You keep treating me as if we're the same person. Stop treating me like her. I'm not a replacement."
It was projection, and her being unable to deal with her own feelings that were causing her to lash out, she knew that. Lee Jihye had to constantly remind herself that the two Na Boris she knew weren't the same, even if it was easy to fall back into their old dynamic. She had to remind herself not to get too attached, because she was going to leave. She had to remind herself that they weren't the same, because doing so would betray the memories of the Na Bori that she knew. And Lee Jihye was frustrated.
There was so much that she wanted to say, but she couldn't figure out what to say. She wanted to scream and shout, letting everything that had been building up for all this time loose. "You're not going to have her back, ever. The two of us… the two of us aren't destined to be with the one we love." Na Bori looked upset at that, and opened her mouth, but Lee Jihye didn't think she was able to take what would be said next.
"Sorry Bori," Lee Jihye said. "It was fun being with you, but I'm not feeling well."
They were still supposed to go eat dinner together, but she lost her appetite. She started to leave, only to feel her arm tugged as she spun around.
"Listen Jihye," Na Bori said, looking up at her. "I understand that looking at me reminds you of her. And maybe you are right, you're not the Lee Jihye who has been with me for sixteen years. You're someone who learned to fight with a sword, and you're brilliant with it. But does that really mean that you're a completely different person? The Lee Jihye I knew always loved swords, whenever we played fighting games, she always gravitated to playing any woman who owned a sword. So is it that surprising that you now own a sword too?
"You've experienced so many things that have changed you, but in the end, you're still Lee Jihye . You're strong and sweet, you hate showing weaknesses but you're a huge crybaby. I haven't known you for sixteen years, but I've known you long enough to know that you're Lee Jihye. And if even that much had changed, I'm wi- I would be willing to get to know you. I know it's worse for you, because you had to kill her, and now see her face and hear her voice from me. But things have gone differently this round compared to the other rounds, right? I'm different. With time, you'd eventually have been able to treat me differently, and accept that I am her, but still get to know the differences.
"Jihye-yah. If we… if we were given the opportunity, if we weren't going to leave each other, would you have given us a chance?"
Lee Jihye blinked. She knew that Na Bori would have something to say, but she didn't expect this much. "I think… I think that I would have liked to."
She'd been coming to terms that saving Na Bori this time wouldn't erase what had happened in the past. But she didn't have to erase it, that memory was something that would never be erased. Instead, she could have created new ones. It was so unfortunate that all those possibilities wouldn't be able to happen in this world.
Lee Jihye looked up at the evening sky, and hoped that in at least one of the other worldlines, there was a Lee Jihye and Na Bori who could have their happy ending.
•~•~•~•~•~•
And then finally, the day had come for her and the others to leave. The Ark was set up for them to board, and many of the people who had joined the Group Regression had already climbed on board. She'd already told Na Bori goodbye, because she didn't think she'd be able to say goodbye at the last moment. But still, she couldn't help but look back and seek her out, to take in the sight of figure one last time.
With a deep breath, she turned and started going towards the Ark again. When she took a step, she heard a cry for her name.
"Jihye, wait!"
Lee Jihye stopped and turned around, and Na Bori nearly crashed into her.
"I'm sorry, this is selfish, but do you really have to go back? Can't you stay?"
She did want to stay, it would have been nice to stay with Na Bori and live out the rest of her life in this worldline. But she had a family that she'd chosen, and she'd already decided that she was going to stay with them. She remembered that a little while ago, Jung Heewon had told her that she was allowed to stay, if she wished, but Lee Jihye knew that there was no point.
"I asked you what you'd do if we were given an opportunity, but this could be it," Na Bori continued, her voice almost frantic. Her bright eyes gleamed with tears. "Or, I could come with you. I don't want to force you to leave your family behind. I could get to know them, and we could all live our lives toge-"
"Bori-yah," Lee Jihye interrupted, placing her hands on her friend's cheeks. "You have your own life to live here. Bori-yah, it'll be alright, okay?"
"Then let me… let me kiss you, I want to be able to know how it feels, even if just once."
It took a second to process the words, and Na Bori looked at her, waiting to see her reaction. With her hands on Na Bori, all she had to do was lean forward for their lips to meet. Lee Jihye had imagined this moment a lot, she'd wished that before Na Bori had died, that she'd mustered the courage to confess. Sometimes in her nightmares, she imagined the feeling of lips on hers, before the body in front of her would end unable to breathe and then fall over.
The kiss was slow and tight and desperate, their arms wrapped around each other and squeezed, both unwilling to let go, so they could let this moment last just a little longer. It was only until Na Bori had gasped for a breath that Lee Jihye backed away, half out of fear that the kiss was just another one of her nightmares. But Na Bori was still standing there, breathing in and out, her lips pink, and Lee Jihye could feel her own lips tingling.
"I love you, Bori-yah," she whispered.
"I love you too, Jihye-yah," came the reply.
"Please live on for me, okay?" She asked, taking Na Bori's hand in between hers.
"Okay. I'll do it for you."
Lee Jihye stared at her for the last time, she stared until she could see the image of her when she closed her eyes. She imagined the feel of her, the sound of her voice, her scent and even her taste, she committed it all to memory.
"Goodbye." Their hands separated, and Lee Jihye once again started walking towards the Ark.
She could feel her heart pounding in her chest, and she already knew that this moment would be added to her nightmares, of having Na Bori and still managing to lose her again.

there in the tower.
A Sleeping Beauty inspired dark fantasy fic.
for ORV RARE PAIR WEEK 2021 @orv-week; day one, prompt: fairy tale
also on ao3.
. . .
They say that the dragon is guarding a princess. After all, dragons will always kidnap princesses and no one else. Who else is so valuable? So important in the kingdom? So weak? So when the dragon flew through the sky and curled around the base of a large tower, it seemed obvious that there was a princess inside, awaiting rescue.
Here’s the thing, though: Na Bori is not a princess.
She’s a seamstresses daughter, a common girl who doesn’t attract much attention from others. So why had the dragon taken her?
Of course, Lee Jihye had no way to know for sure that Na Bori was taken until she actually goes to the tower, but Na Bori had disappeared and a dragon appeared the next day. There were investigations, of course; nobility keeps track of their daughters and what bloodlines they marry into. Every princess and noble girl in the continent is accounted for. People have speculated that there may be a missing princess, perhaps born out of wedlock, or a sickly, weak girl who had never been introduced to society. And then they wondered if they should even bother rescuing the kidnapped girl if they weren’t respectably nobility.
Lee Jihye had to run out of town because of that one. Apparently starting a bar fight and smashing a chair over a marquis’ son is a bad move.
The barely suppressed panic thrums in her chest, filling the empty spaces between her ribs as she continues her journey to the tower.
No one has seen Na Bori since the dragon appeared. No one had looked, either. Who would care for a seamstresses daughter? But Lee Jihye has been besides Na Bori for years, has grown up with her, has never known anyone so bright and clever and kind.
The thought of Na Bori gone forever, trapped in a tower because  no one cared to look  makes her furiously blink tears out of her eyes. No one else is looking, but Lee Jihye. She would never stop until Na Bori was safe by her side again.
Here’s another thing: Lee Jihye is not a knight. She is training to be one, under the instruction of an old warrior who has settled down to live the last years of his life in peace. There are other knights and princes traveling to the tower, fighting beasts and bandits in order to rescue the poor maiden trapped besides a dragon, hoping to gain glory and honor for their deeds. Lee Jihye just wants her best friend back.
It’s easy enough to avoid them; Lee Jihye’s been dodging them for weeks, knowing she’s too tense to handle anyone’s company. These nobles are planning to gain fame or riches or a wife out of this. The last knight who had said something about pitiful women always clinging to their saviors got his teeth knocked out and a concussion from how hard Lee Jihye punched him. She left him lying on the side of the road, fists shaking as she desperately tried to erase thoughts of Na Bori married to a pig like him.
The less time spent with others, the better.
She cuts down another branch in her way and dives deeper into the forests that surround the castle.
“But what if you get sent far away?” she asks, stabbing her needle especially viciously through the fabric.
Lee Jihye is rather happy that Na Bori doesn’t want her to go. The rare occasion where Na Bori clings to Lee Jihye instead of the other way around are moments memorized and held onto fondly. She knows that there is no one in this world closer to her than Na Bori, knows that she’s the person who knows Na Bori best, but it’s nice to hear that she’s wanted.
Smiling, Lee Jihye reaches out and takes one of Na Bori’s hands, stopping her from tearing through the fabric. “I’ll still come back,” she promises, “Where else would I come home to?”
“And if you get hurt?”
“I’ll just get strong enough that nothing can hurt me.”
Na Bori is mollified, and it shows in how she relaxes and finally sets down her sewing. “You still have a long way to go then. Strong knights don’t cry over a little tumble down the hill.”
Lee Jihye flushes and scowls. “Hey! It was my first assignment and it was a steep hill. I hit a lot of things on the way down! It hurt! If anything, it would be weird if I wasn’t
crying when she wakes up. Lee Jihye faintly hears Na Bori’s voice whisper, “Crybaby,” but it’s only wistful thinking. Forcing her aching body up, Lee Jihye wipes away her tears and prepared herself for another agonizing day cutting through the thorny and impossibly large brambles that block entry to the tower.
“Okay,” she tells herself, “You’re almost there. Na Bori is waiting for you, so you can’t give up yet.”
Many of the others have turned back. She no longer sees other groups making their way to the tower. It’s been eerily silent for the past two days.
If she had been anyone else, if she had been sane, Lee Jihye would have turned around too. The entire area felt unwelcoming, downright hostile sometimes, and made every nerve in her body scream at her to turn around. A heavy pit of despair grows in her stomach and the hopelessness it causes makes her physically sick a few times.
Still, Lee Jihye presses onwards.
The longer it takes, the more she worries, her brain providing morbid images of Na Bori’s body rotting in the tower, or being eaten by the dragon, or any other terrible thing that could happen to kidnapped people. It has Lee Jihye on the verge of a nervous breakdown, and she’s been teetering on that cliff for a few days now.
There’s no doubt that the area around the tower is full of dark magic. It gets into her head, twists around her bones, squeezes the air out of her lungs and slowly suffocates her each day. It gives her nightmares, makes her relive memories that feel like they’re happening again, like Na Bori is there with her only for wakefulness to destroy the illusions. Lee Jihye has only been in this dark magic infected forest for two days. Na Bori has been missing for a week and a half.
The fear she feels for Na Bori and what she’s had to endure only makes things worse.
Lee Jihye hacks through another large thorny bramble and continues in deeper, ignoring the weariness that makes her want to collapse and never get up. Thorns have caught on her with each step she takes; most of the cuts clot up quickly, but the rest leave a trail of blood to guide her back out.
The tower doesn’t look any closer.
She lifts her heavy arms to cut through another branch.
Na Bori shrieks and jumps onto Lee Jihye, clinging with all her might. Startled, Lee Jihye stumbles back a few steps, trying to regain her balance without dropping Na Bori. She wraps her arms around Na Bori, holding her up, and looks around for the source of her distress.
Crawling across the road is a centipede.
Lee Jihye can’t help but laugh, easily carrying Na Bori away from it, continuing down the road to her house.
Na Bori, still holding onto Lee Jihye and making no moves to get down, smacks her shoulder. “Don’t laugh!”
“I can’t believe you call me a crybaby when you jump into my arms as soon as you see a bug.”
“It’s a perfectly reasonably fear! Nothing should have that many legs, or those weird eyes, or pincers, or--ugh!” She shudders, scaring herself by imagining the very things she hates about bugs.
It’s cute, how insistent she is that bugs are weird, gross, and wholly unnatural. Lee Jihye has listened to these complaints for many years, and she wouldn’t mind listening for many years more.
“Don’t worry,” she says, adjusting her grip around Na Bori’s waist. “I’ll always be here to rescue you from the evil, scary bugs.”
Na Bori tucks her face into the crook of Lee Jihye’s neck. Her warm breath sends shivers down her spine; it takes everything in her not to stumble or drop Na Bori.
“My valiant knight,” she says, and Lee Jihye can hear the smile in her voice.
Who needs kings and queens? The only person she ever wants to dedicate her sword to is already in her arms. And if asked, Lee Jihye would gladly dedicate the rest of her life.
It’s just. There are little moments between them, where Lee Jihye thinks Na Bori also wants more, wants to push the limits of their friendship into new territory, but what if it’s just wistful thinking? They’ve shared what feels like their whole lives together, and there’s no guarantee that Na Bori wouldn’t leave one day. But if she stayed… If she stayed, Lee Jihye would give
up and let the brambles consume her body. She doesn’t know how long it’s been, how far she’s gone. Dreams and reality feel the same and she can’t quite tell which is which anymore. The tower is still the same distance away it was when she first saw it rising above the brambles.
Everything hurts. Her ears are ringing. She’s been bleeding sluggishly for days now, always torn apart by new thorns. There’s no point in trying to patch herself up when the next set of brambles is ready to rip her flesh apart.
The tip of her sword drags through the dirt. She’s given up trying to cut a path through to the towers. Instead, Lee Jihye settles for twisting between the branches, uncaring for the thorns that reach out for her greedily.
Whatever dark magic saturates this place is slowly killing her. Lee Jihye doesn’t know much about magic as she’s never had a talent for it, but she knows enough to understand that this is incredibly powerful and dangerous magic.
What does it have to do with Na Bori?
The answer is: nothing good. Who cares about the specifics? All Lee Jihye has to know is that the magic is going to (if it hasn’t already) hurt Na Bori. The need to save her from this, to bring her back somewhere safe, is what keeps her going despite how painful it is.
As much as her body screams at her to give up and just lie down until she withers away, Lee Jihye pushes forwards, ignoring every ache and cut and bruise.
She will get to the tower.
Na Bori will come home.
Their hands bump together and they both reflexively jerk away. The air between them is awkward for a moment, then Na Bori laughs and picks up the last apple slice and brings it up to Lee Jihye’s lips.
"Here,” she says sweetly, and Lee Jihye takes a bite, watches the juice trail down her fingers and wants more than anything to lick it away, to press kisses against Na Bori’s nimble hands, wants
to cry, to scream, to just be done with it. The tower looms above her, no closer and no farther, mocking her and she twists herself through another bramble, wincing as a thorn drags along her arm, beads of blood beginning to
fall into the river. The colorful leaves line the banks of the river and Lee Jihye watches as Na Bori carefully shifts through piles of leaves, searching for the mushrooms that she needed for dinner.
“Jihye, come here!” she calls, waving her over.
And Lee Jihye goes, as she always does. “What is it? Did you find
a way in, but it’s all just stone. No doors, no windows, just stone. She finally got past those horrible brambles, and now that she’s at the tower she can’t find a way in. It’s too tall for her to climb with her how exhausted she is. There’s no way up.
Lee Jihye can’t help but cry, screaming in frustration as she presses the heels of her palms against her eyes, trying to breathe through the sobs that force themselves out of her chest.
The magic has only gotten stronger. Dreams, memories, reality, it’s all mixing together. One moment she’s walking through town with Na Bori, the next she’s trying not to gut herself on a large thorn. One moment she’s cutting down a branch and the next she’s waking up then walking past the brambles then waking up and seeing Na Bori smile then waking up and waking up and waking up but she can’t remember falling asleep.
Is this a dream? Is she awake? Is the tower before her real or is this just another illusion?
She’s come all this way. She can’t go back, not without finding a way in that fucking
tower over her and Lee Jihye is sobbing as she watches they push Na Bori into the river. The one holding her back is laughing meanly, saying something about how no one would care about what happens to them, just two poor common girls who only have each other, bet their parents wouldn’t even notice them gone.
N a Bori is coughing up water in-between insults, and Lee Jihye whimpers as her arm is twisted more and more and any more will hurt her, will break her bones, their hands are too big and strong and no one is coming to save them and
"Get up Jihye!”
There is a dragon curled around the tower. It’s smaller than what she expected. Smaller than what she remembers. It stares at her, but it doesn’t attack.
It looks just as tired as she is.
“Hey,” Lee Jihye rasps out. “I just want her back. Please.”
The dragon huffs and drops its head to the ground. There is a collar around its neck, digging into its flesh. Dried blood colors the edges of the collar, and Lee Jihye feels sick to her stomach. Whatever magic is taking place here is vile enough to hurt a dragon, a creature of pure magic from the core of the planet.
Killing the dragon would be an act of mercy.
Lee Jihye approaches. It watches and doesn’t move. Its golden eyes are so tired; the dragon has already given up.
She raises her sword.
They are seven years old when they first meet. The new seamstress in town is delighted to see that her daughter will have a friend her age. She waves the two of them off to play and goes back into her store, ready to get started on mending clothes.
Na Bori grins, bright and lively; it’s the biggest smile Lee Jihye has ever seen, and she’s instantly enamoured.
"Hi! I’m Na Bori. Wanna play?”
"Sure! I’m Lee Jihye, I live down there,” she points behind them to the cluster of houses near the fields, “and you’re the first person I’ve met who’s my age!”
Na Bori doesn’t waste any more time talking. She grabs Lee Jihye’s wrist and drags her along. It’s the first touch she’s felt from someone outside her family that didn’t hurt. She’s gotten used to hiding from the local bullies and crying when they were done with her, but Na Bori’s hand around her wrist is what makes her feel like she’s splintering apart.
It’s a good feeling.
She follows along behind Na Bori, and remembers that kind touch whenever she thinks about why she loves Na Bori so much.
The collar falls to the ground. It was hard work cutting through it, but just because Lee Jihye doesn’t have a talent for magic doesn’t mean she can’t use it. It’s all about mana direction and intent. This forest is full of mana that feels rotten and wounded, but it is mana nonetheless, and Lee Jihye has spent days in it. It’s easy enough to focus on the memory of the first kindness another child showed her and use that to fuel the intent of  help  rather than  harm .
The dragon blinks and some life returns to its eyes. It watches her carefully as she sheathes her sword and wipes the sweat off her brow.
“I helped you get out of the collar. Please help me too.”
And it does.
The dragon nudges its nose against her stomach and lets her climb on. She holds onto it’s large horns as it ascends and circles the tower. There is a single window in this entire tower, up at the top, and it is there that the dragon stops, using its claws to dig into the stone walls and cling to the tower so that Lee Jihye can climb in through the window.
It rumbles at her softly, and Lee Jihye pats its nose. “I’ll be back soon.”
The inside of the tower is dark save for the light that comes in through the window. It’s full of books and bones, strange symbols drawn on the wall and the floor. There is a man collapsed against a table, gaunt and covered in dried blood. His chest moves, the only sign that he’s not dead, and symbols are cut into his skin, turned black from channeling dark magic.
Lee Jihye doesn’t hesitate to run him through with her sword. He dies silently, not knowing the danger he was in the moment he stole Na Bori away.
That is, if Na Bori is even here. If she isn’t, Lee Jihye is going to have a breakdown, then go out and continue her search. But she’s sure that Na Bori is here.
She has to be.
In the back is another set of stairs that winds up, and Lee Jihye climbs them, leaving her sword out just in case.
It’s much darker up here, but still Lee Jihye can make out the bed and a person lying in it. There’s a table besides the bed, full of sharp objects she doesn’t know the use for, and small vials of blood. Dread fills Lee Jihye and she approaches the bed to get a closer look at who is on it.
Na Bori sleeps peacefully.
Her arms are bare and full of healing cuts. Lee Jihye collapses, half-laughing half-sobbing in relief. She reaches out and shakes Na Bori, trying to rouse her from her slumber, but Na Bori doesn’t stir.
She’s as still as a corpse.
Lee Jihye shakes her harder, then pats her cheek. “Bori-ya? Hey, Bori-ya, I’m here. I’m here to take you home. Wake up, will you? Please, wake up.”
Na Bori remains motionless. She’s never been a deep sleeper, or a still one. Seeing her so still and silent terrifies Lee Jihye.
“Please,” she whispers, grasping one of Na Bori’s hands and pressing her forehead against it. “Please, wake up.”
Lee Jihye sobs. She went through all this and now that she’s here, it doesn’t matter. Because Na Bori is stuck in a magical sleep that Lee Jihye can’t wake her from.
Desperate, Lee Jihye pulls on the rotting mana around them. Blood drips from her nose as she pushes herself through exhaustion and pain, letting the decay take root in her body as she tries to use magic to break Na Bori out of her enchanted sleep. It hurts so much, behind her eyes, in her throat, around her heart. It hurts but there’s nothing else she can do, so Lee Jihye keeps pulling the mana in, then pushing it into Na Bori through their joined hands, wishing  wake up wake up wake up come back to me please I missed you so much please come back I want to go home please don’t make me leave you .
She’s not made for magic. Doesn’t really know how to use it and it takes a toll on her body. She barely notices that she’s stopped crying. She just doesn’t have the energy to make tears.
Lee Jihye resigns herself to death. Better than leaving without Na Bori. She slumps over, slowly losing her strength. Na Bori sleeps on.
They were supposed to have a future together. She wanted to find the courage to confess to Na Bori, to make a life with her, to become a knight for her. She wanted so much but she’ll never get it because their story ends here.
These are her final moments. She’s allowed to be greedy. Lee Jihye leans down and kisses Na Bori; their first and last kiss. She presses her lips against Na Bori’s mouth and just stays there, tired and weak.
Na Bori takes a breath.
And she kisses back.
"Why do you want to be a knight? Isn’t it scary?”
Was it? Lee Jihye had always thought the stories of adventures and fighting monsters was really cool. She says as much to Na Bori, who scrunches up her nose.
“But what if you get hurt or run into a really scary monster?” she asks, clutching the skirt of her dress in her fists, knuckles white.
“Then I’d fight back and come to you so you could help me! Being a knight might be a little scary, but I’d also be strong enough to defeat any scary thing that I find.”
“Would you save me if I was in danger?”
Lee Jihye grins and grabs Na Bori’s hand to link their pinkies together. “I promise that I will always save you.”
Na Bori has to support Lee Jihye as they both stumble down the stairs and make their way to the window, where the dragon is waiting. It coos at them, concerned, and Lee Jihye manages a weak smile that seems to reassure it.
They somehow manage to get onto the dragon, holding onto ridges of its back as it takes off and flies them away from the oppressive force of black magic.
“Jihye?” Na Bori murmurs from behind her, arms wrapped around Jihye’s waist as she leans against her back. “Thank you for coming to save me. I kept dreaming of you and our promise.”
“I told you didn’t I? I’ll always save you.” Lee Jihye wishes she could be cooler when she says it, but she’s exhausted and the relief of having Na Bori with her makes her voice small and weak.
Na Bori presses a kiss to the back of her neck. “Sleep. I’ll take care of you until we get home.”
Feeling like a child again, experiencing her first kind touch from another, Lee Jihye relaxes against Na Bori, and lets herself drift off as her heart splinters and fractures, then comes together whole.

“oh so gorgeous!” “i have the prettiest daughter in the world!”
as rosalie grew older, her mother became her anchor for teenage years. especially when she became a trainee and was away from her mother for a while (rosalie began living with her grandparents for about a year whilst her parents found a decent house and building for the bakery). there was many late night calls that would lead the poor girl to tears, crying out that she misses her mom. aurore was able to life up her daughter on her dark days and laugh with her daughter on the bright ones and that’s all that rosalie needs.
nothing is more important than the love a mother gives.

୭ৎ ࣪ ׅ DESCRIPTION — hyeonju is a father and everything in between, a best friend, a hype man, and a body guard. now valentine is the biggest daddy’s girl but that doesn’t mean rosalie isn’t next in line in wanting all of her appa’s attention. she loves when her dad ask her to join in on activities he knows she doesn’t enjoy, like going to the hardware store or making renovations to the house, but just wants to spend quality time with her one way or another — and he always goes to the nail salon to get their toes done together after wards. you gotta pamper yourself after all that hard work as rosalie says.
hyeonju always attended everyone of rosalie’s daddy daughter school events and made sure she was the most spoiled girl without making her a brat. she’s his first daughter/child so of course he’s going to make sure she knows she is loved both emotionally and physically. anytime the park family is out on a errands or just to spend family time together, rosalie is always holding her fathers hand or his arm (or on the special occasion he’s giving rosalie a piggy back ride).
rosalie couldn’t ask for a better father, he’s the one there to fight off all the monsters hiding in her closet and hold her close when the nightmares hit too close to home.

valentine grew up basically shadowing everything rosalie did. rosalie went for extra lessons for english, valentine would too even though she liked her french classes more; rosalie would put a little bit of lip gloss on and valentine would always pucker up her lips for some as well saying she wants to be just as pretty as her big sister! everything they did was for each other and with each other, you’d think they were twins.
when rosalie became a trainee, valentine bragged to everyone saying she was going to have the bestest singing sister in the world, mind you valentine was around 3 at this time so all she knew was the videos rosalie would play of girls generation and shinee, so she thought rosalie was going to be the coolest person in the world. she was right.
as valentine grew up and rosalie began to get busier with being an idol, nothing in their relationship changed. rosalie still called every night to her mom and dad and asked for valentine within 5 minutes.

Summary: Debut day!

Track 22: Debut!
Started From the Bottom- Drake
“Started from the bottom now we’re here
Started from the bottom now my whole team fuckin’ here.”
Debut Showcase, Gangnam Ilchi Hall-June 12, 2013
“Aviva-yah,” Yoongi called. Aviva looked up with her camera, only to be faced with Yoongi snapping a picture of her with his. He looked down at his camera and grinned. “Looks good.”
Aviva looked him over. “So do you. I really like the skirt.”
Yoongi did a little twirl. “Hip hop!”
“Ah… I’m so nervous, I’m stiff as a board,” Jin muttered.
“Want a massage, hyung?” Jungkook offered. Jin blinked at him.
“Seriously? Yeah, that would be great.” Jin sighed happily as Jungkook massaged his shoulders. Aviva walked over, getting a shot of them. “You’re good at this. How come you don’t do it more often?”
“Cause this is a special occasion,” Jungkook told him. “Don’t get used to it, hyung.”
“…I’ll pay you in food,” Jin offered.
“…I’ll consider it,” Jungkook said. Aviva laughed. They glanced at her.
“Yah, go away, camera-ninja,” Jin said.
The boys preformed Bulletproof Pt. 2, No More Dream, and Like to round it out. In-between changing their outfits, Aviva got a quick word with Yoongi and Hoseok.
“How’s it going out there?” She asked them. Yoongi and Hoseok looked at each other.
“Good~?” Hoseok said.
“Good~” Yoongi agreed. Namjoon stepped up behind them, putting his hands on their shoulders. Hoseok clutched his chest as Yoongi plastered on an overly surprised face.
“What’re you guys doing?” Namjoon asked.
“Talking about how great you guys are,” Aviva told him.
“Yah!” Namjoon flushed. “It’s time to get back on stage!” He pointed his finger in the air. “Let’s go!”
Afterwards, Aviva stood off to the side, watching the boys get interviewed about their first performances.
Yoongi spoke about how they were more authentic than other idol groups doing hip hop. Namjoon spoke about wanting to reach out to teenagers and get them to think about what their dreams were, and wanting to win a Best New Artist Award.
At the end of the night Aviva presented them with a custom-made cake. “Sorry I didn’t bake this one,” she said. “But I saw an ad for this bakery, and I thought it could be cool.”
“It is!” Jimin assured her. “Your cakes are probably the tastiest, but this one is very pretty.” Aviva clenched her fist.
“I’m going to improve my cake decorating skills.”
“Ah, that’s not what I…” Jimin smiled at her determined expression. “Okay, I can’t wait to see what you come up with—shall we eat?”
M!Countdown Debut! June 13th 2013
At their debut M!Countdown stage, Aviva was carrying around her camera again, to get behind the scenes footage.
Joonho and his assistants were working hard to mark sure every item of clothing was perfectly place. Jihye and Eunjung were chatting as they waited for their turn. However, Aviva could see that Eunjung had already gotten to Namjoon earlier this morning with an important addition to his hairstyle.
Aviva laughed, stretching her arm up and tracing the letters RM that had been shaved into the side of his head. “I haven’t seen this yet…”
“What? You don’t like it?” Namjoon said nervously.
“I’m not sure,” she admitted. “It’s just… I wonder what you’ll think about this style when you look back at it. Fashion is so changeable…”
“All the more reason to enjoy it now!” Hoseok said, popping up behind them, wrapping one arm around her shoulders and the other around Namjoon’s back.
“You would say that,” Aviva said, flicking the spiky mask.
He laughed. “You really like this thing, huh?” He struck a dramatic pose. “What I do for the sake of art!” She and Namjoon both laughed along with him.
Jungkook and Jimin walked over. Jimin spotted the camera and swerved slightly to sit on a nearby bench.
“I’m going to practice,” Namjoon said, turning towards the wall and taking a few deep breathes before launching into one of his verses. It was the quick one.
Hoseok mimicked him jokingly. Jungkook watched and then did the same. Hoseok laughed.
Namjoon frowned, pointing at Jungkook. “I hate this kid.”
“No, you don’t, Namjoon-ah,” Aviva said easily.
“If you’re gonna copy me, try and do it properly, at least,” he challenged. Hoseok shrugged. Jungkook tried. “Not similar!”
“He can’t do it so well when he’s under the spotlight like that,” Hoseok told Aviva.
“Well, Namjoon-ah does have his own style of rap,” Aviva thought. “You should rap like yourselves, not like him. That’s what makes you all special.”
“Aw.” Hoseok poked her on the cheek. “Cutie, manager-nim.”
“…Can we move on?” Aviva said. “Your audience doesn’t want to hear about me, they want to hear about you.”
Jimin quickly rapped the verse, blushing when they turned to him.
“Ah, sorry,” Jimin said in English for some reason.
“No, it was cool,” Namjoon told him, patting him on the shoulder. “You’re the coolest.”
Readier, the boys loosened up by seeing who could rap the fastest in English. Then Namjoon moved on to walking through their performance. Aviva could see the maknae line’s eyes glazing over as he spoke. Taehyung spotted her and blew her a kiss. Jimin noticed and laughed quietly. He moved over to her.
“Shouldn’t you be listening to your leader?” Aviva teased.
Jimin grinned sheepishly. “Ah, well… I thought maybe our fans could use an update on what we’re doing? That’s who you’re recording this for, right? Our fans?” He thought. Aviva nodded. “Right now we’re in the waiting room.” Jimin pulled at Jungkook’s arm. “Jungkook-ah.” Jungkook turned around and stepped closer to them. “The camera’s on, see?” Jungkook bent down slightly.
“Yah, you don’t have to bend down,” Aviva said. “I’m not that short…” Jungkook laughed. “What will you do next, Jiminie?”
“Next we will…”
“Lose weight!” Jungkook said. Aviva frowned.
“Eh? Why~”
Jungkook laughed. “Stop with the aegyo, noona, you’re too old for that!” He turned back to Namjoon, walking closer over to him to listen.
“…Jungkookie’s a little grumpy today, isn’t he?” Jimin thought.
“Nervous?” Aviva wondered.
“I am,” Jimin admitted.
“I meant Kook... but, yeah, probably everyone is. I mean, I’m nervous and I’m not even performing!”
Jimin grimaced.
“Namjoon-ah, Jungook-ah, have you changed your socks?” One of the assistants asked. The boys broke up to continue getting ready.
“Well… we’re going to lose weight now, I guess,” Jimin said. “Yes, going to lose weight diligently. So I can show you great abs.” He looked down at himself.
“Your abs are already great,” Aviva told him honestly. Hoseok popped up behind Jimin, his plainer mask hanging over his chin.
“What are you doing?” He wondered.
Jimin blinked at him. “What?”
“Jiminie’s giving the fans an update!” Aviva told Hoseok.
“Right now we’re changing into our cool outfits before rehearsal,” Jimin told her and the camera. He wiggled his many ringed fingers at her.
“Bling~Bling~” Hoseok said. He held up his own gloved hand. “It says Bangtan Sonyeondan on it!”
“They are cool gloves,” Aviva agreed. “But you’re interrupting Jiminie.”
“Yeah, don’t interrupt me while I’m speaking to the camera, hyung!” Jimin said. “I get…” He glanced at Aviva and then looked away from her, staring at his feet. “…Shy.” He laughed nervously.
“Why?” Hoseok wondered. “It’s just Avi-yah.”
“It’s fine.” Aviva switched off her camera. “We can take a break.”
“Thanks, noona.” Jimin smiled at her.
“Cookie?” Yoongi offered, holding a small snack bag out to them.
“Ah, no thanks, hyung,” Jimin said. “I’m still dieting, so…”
Yoongi shrugged, holding it out to Aviva.
She took one. “Thanks.”
“You know, your shyness is cute, but you have to get used to the cameras if we’re going to debut now,” Hoseok said to Jimin.
Jimin frowned. “Yeah, well, how do you suggest I do that, Hobi-hyung?”
“Hmm…” Hoseok grinned. “I dare you to flash your abs to the camera.”
“Eh?” Jimin said. “Why?”
“Why?” Aviva agreed.
“Well, he’s going to be doing it on stage all the time now, so it’d be good practice, right?” He figured.
Jimin’s brow furrowed. “He’s got a point.”
“Yes, but the internet is forever,” Aviva reminded him. “If I post this…”
Jimin let out a breath. “Let’s do it.” He gripped the edge of his shirt. “Film me, noona.”
Soon they moved upstairs to the stage for the rehearsal. She got a shot of them moving up the stairs. Jungkook spotted her and waved.
“Ah, manager-noona, when did you get here?”
The other members shot her peace signs as they passed.
They moved straight from the rehearsal into the pre-recording for No More Dream. Aviva watched from the side and then ran around the corner to meet them as they exited the stage.
Aviva filmed them walking off stage, down the hall. The assistants were waiting with tissues to blot at their sweaty faces.
“This leather…” Namjoon muttered, pulling at his shirt, which was sticking to him with sweat. She switched her camera off, letting it hang off her neck. “Honestly.”
“Bend down.” She motioned at him. He did and she carefully dabbed at his face with a tissue, not wanting to ruin the makeup artist’s hard work. “There’s water and towels in the dressing room.”
“Good,” Yoongi said as he passed her. “It’s hot.”
Aviva froze, spotting Jin crying as he stepped off the stage.
“Oppa…” She frowned, noting one of the other cameramen was following him closer to get a shot. She followed them too. “Yah, give him some space.” The camera man hesitated. Aviva flashed her employee ID, and a glare at him. The camera man waved his hand and retreated out of the room. Jin was surrounded by assistants who were wiping his face and fanning him. Jimin and Namjoon were hovering, watching him concernedly. “Hi, Jinie-oppa. It’s okay to cry, you know.”
“But, I’m the oldest," he choked out. "I'm not supposed to..."
“You may be the oldest, but you also have the most sensitive heart,” she thought. “It’s a curse and a blessing.”
“I need to… get ready… for the… performance.”
She frowned at his ragged breathing.
“Seokjin-oppa.” She leaned up, brushing his hair away from his face. “Can you breath with me? Copy my breathing. Come on, slowly in… and out… good job.”
“Sorry,” he muttered, as his breathing settled.
“Hey, it’s a big moment, it makes sense to have big feelings, you don’t need to apologize, okay?”
“Okay.” He smiled slightly. “Guess I’ll say thank you, then.” He bent and kissed her forehead. “Thank you, manager-nim.”
“You two are being very sweet, but you should know, Avi, that he’s crying because his pants kept falling down,” Namjoon teased.
“Yah!” Jin protested, his face turning pink. Namjoon laughed as Jin got him into a headlock and rubbed roughly at his head.
“Ah, watch it—Eunjung-ssi is going to yell at you!”
“Eh? I thought it was because he made a mistake?” Jimin said to Aviva. Jin glared at him. Jimin patted him on the arm. “Don’t cry, hyung, it makes me want to cry too.”
Jin rejoined the others to do their huddle and cheer before they stepped back out onto stage to preform Bulletproof Pt. 2.
Jin waved at her as he passed. Yoongi gave her two thumbs up. Namjoon flashed her a peace sign.
After the performance, Aviva was waiting for them again near the door.
“We did well!” Jin said, hugging her. She laughed.
“Ah, oppa, I’m filming!”
“Our first broadcast recording!” Jin hugged Hoseok.
“First success!” Hoseok did a double fist pump.
“Oh yeah!” Namjoon echoed him as Jin moved on to hug Yoongi. “We’ll do even better on tomorrow’s stage.”
“We will do better tomorrow,” Jin agreed, though he was more subdued than the other two. He smiled weakly. “I have confidence for tomorrow.” Aviva couldn’t find the words. Instead she reached up and brushed his hair out of his face again.
Music Bank, No More Dream Debut!- June 14th 2013
The next day during rehearsal, Yoongi showed off his shirt with his stage name on it to the camera.
“I’m Suga, you see that?”
Aviva nodded. “Otherwise I wouldn’t know who you are.”
“Yah, you brat, it’s for the dry rehearsal,” he said. “You know that.”
Taehyung laughed behind them. Yoongi made a silly face at him. He laughed harder.
Aviva went out into the seats out a couple rows away from the stage to film their rehearsal.
“Yah, noona, don’t you have confidence in me?” Jimin whined after they finished the rehearsal and gathered back in the dressing room. “I know I made a small mistake with the kick, but I promise I’ll practice—and I always get the jump right every time. Every time!”
Aviva was taking a break from filming to charge her camera.
“Hmm? What do you mean?”
“The part when I jump over Hobi, I saw how nervous you got!”
Aviva blushed slightly. “It’s not that I don’t trust you, Jiminie, I just… you know I worry.”
“Then don’t watch that part, close your eyes,” Yoongi suggested.
She frowned.
“I can’t do that. I have to support you guys, and get behind the scenes footage, and—“
“Okay, okay.” He waved his hand. “It was just a suggestion.”
She chewed at her lip. “I like the thing with the hat though. It’s cute.”
“I’m not sure cute was what Hobi was aiming for, but I’ll take it!” Jimin said.
Aviva got her camera back in time to film Jimin and Yoongi practicing their dance moves. Taehyung joined them.
“We have to do well,” he told Aviva seriously. “There’s only one chance.” She tilted her head.
“One chance for…?”
He blinked at her. “There’s only, one chance~” He started to sing.
She nodded. “One Shot, B.A.P.”
“Ding, ding, ding—correct!”
Meanwhile, Jungkook trying some of Namjoon’s throat spray.
He coughed. “Are you supposed to drink water with this?”
“Hmmm?” Namjoon looked at him sleepily.
Aviva turned to get shots of the other members. Jin spotted her and waved with the sleeves of his leather jacket, which he was wearing backwards. She laughed.
“Why are you being so cute?”
He pouted at her. “Are you suggesting I’m not usually cute?”
“You’re not usually this shy,” she thought.
“Ah, I did a shy introduction, so I’m still shy now,” he explained.
She nodded. “Well, that’s okay, oppa, I like both the shy and confident versions of you,” she said honestly. He blushed. “Where did Kook go? He was just here...” He laughed.
“Ah, yeah, he’s fallen asleep again.”
Jungkook had almost passed out in his chair.
“Drink,” she ordered him, handing him a water bottle as one of the stagehands fanned him.
“What?” He smiled at her, dazed. “Oh, manager-noona, hi.”
She frowned. “You need to eat something, get your blood sugar up.”
“But I’m on a diet~” Jungkook said. “You can’t make me~”
Aviva sighed. “What about some juice?”
He blinked and nodded. “Yes please.”
“I’ll get it for him,” Jin offered, pulling his jacket on the right way around now. Aviva glanced over at Jimin, who was still practicing.
“Get one for Jiminie too, please.”
Jin nodded.
“One juice for the maknae and one for the Bagel Man, got it.”
Aviva squinted after him.
“Why is Jiminie a bagel?”
“It’s a combo between baby face and glamorous body,” Jungkook explained. He smiled. “Namjoon-hyung told me I’ll probably be like that someday.” His brow furrowed. “Hmm, where did Namjoon-hyung go?”
“I’ll look for him.”
She found him sitting on a chair in the hallway, his head in his hands. He looked like The Thinker, except even stiffer than stone. She switched off her camera, having a feeling he wouldn’t want the fans seeing him like this.
“Namjoon-ah…” Aviva punched lightly at his back. “You’re so tense. Come on, man.”
He squinted at her.
“If that’s an attempt at a massage, you’re failing.”
“No, I’m just hitting you.”
“Oh. You’re doing great then.”
She sighed, laying her hands flat and smoothing them over his shoulders, kneading at the tense muscles.
He made a bit of a happy noise.
“Better?” She asked in his ear. He jolted and then stiffened again. “Sorry.” She withdrew from him.
“No! I…” He turned, his face red. “It’s fine. That was… nice. Thanks. You, ah, weren’t filming that, were you?”
She shook her head. “I do still need some more footage though.”
“You’ll find it,” Namjoon said confidently. “You’re good at this.”
“You’re so amazing, Syub Syub,” Hoseok was saying to Yoongi back inside the room. “You actually danced.” Yoongi turned, spotting Aviva with the camera.
“I usually don’t show off my dancing,” he explained to any future viewers.
“You’re so cool,” Hobi praised. Yoongi smiled awkwardly. Hoseok turned to Tae. “V-ssi, you should show us too.”
Taehyung blinked. “Show what?”
Hoseok hummed one line of the song. “That part.”
Tae did a confused little head wiggle for the camera.
It was cute, but awkward.
“The truth is, V-ah doesn’t do that part,” Yoongi told the camera.
“Oh?” Hoseok smirked.
Yoongi squeezed Taehyung’s shoulder.
“You don’t need to know that part. It’s not yours.”
Hoseok shot an apologetic look at Tae, who was frowning, and then attacked him with a hug, biting his shoulder for some reason.
“Ah, hyung, you’re not a vampire!” Tae said, laughing.
“You’re so cute I just wanna eat you up!” Hoseok told him. Taehyung ran away from him, hiding behind Aviva.
“Yah, leave Taehyung-ah alone,” Jin said, stopping his neck stretches to glare at Hoseok.
“Are you okay?” Aviva asked Yoongi as Tae leaned on her. “How’s your shoulder?” He frowned at the camera. “Ah, sorry, I can edit that out.”
“Please do. The shoulder’s fine,” he told her. “Right now, I’m a little nervous for the pre-recording. I feel dazed, but I’m keeping myself on my toes.” Hoseok and Jin popped in and out from behind him making faces. Tae flashed a peace sign in front of the camera. Yoongi completely ignored them. “We’ll work hard. Please watch over us.” He smiled, just a tinge of annoyance on his face.
“But you’ve been great in front of the camera,” she told him. “I really appreciate it, since it gives me more material to pick from… but don’t force yourself, okay?”
“I’m not,” he told her.
“Swag!” Namjoon called out as he passed the camera, ready to preform. Aviva tried not to laugh. Yoongi bowed slightly. Hoseok and Jimin flashed peace signs.
Aviva watched from the side, grinning as girls shrieked at Jimin’s abs reveal, and cheered at Jimin’s leap.
“We finished it!” Namjoon said as he came off stage, smiling in relief.
“Ah, that was scary!” Yoongi said, rubbing his chest.
Jungkook pronounced it, “So-so.”
“The end!” Hoseok said, flashing a peace sign at the camera.
“Hi.” Jin waved shyly. “We did well, I think.”
“The end!” Tae said, flashing a peace sign. Aviva laughed.
“Hobi just did that!”
Tae pouted.
In the dressing room, Aviva looked at Jimin.
“Have you been avoiding me?”
“Not you, necessarily…” He eyed the camera and stepped closer, pointing. “That red light scares me the most. It makes me wonder what I should say.”
“Just be yourself,” Aviva told him. “If I record anything you’re uncomfortable with sharing, I can always edit it out. I promise not to post anything you don’t want me to.”
Jimin smiled, stroking the lens like it was the face of his lover.
“You’re a good girl, huh?”
“I won’t be if you keep touching the lens!”
He laughed.
Across the room, Jin was making faces at Aviva, passing his hand over his face, and changing his expression dramatically. A sleepy Taehyung was sitting next to him as he got his makeup fixed, clearly not amused.
“Wow, I’m so nervous,” Jungkook said as they headed back towards the stage for the live broadcast.
“You got this!” Aviva told him.
During the performance, Aviva was out in the audience again, catching shots of the fans cheering, especially when the boys flashed their abs, and got into their dance solos.
Afterwards, the boys made more faces at her as they came off stage. The photographer had disappeared somewhere, so Aviva was put in charge of taking the after-performance group photos for the fans. Tae and Jimin were reaching across the group to hold hands, as Hoseok bit down on Jimin’s head for some reason.
“Hobi!” Aviva called out to him. “Do I need to get you a teething toy?” The boys laughed, including Hoseok.
“Ah, we are born in the year of the dog, after all! Come play with us!” He walked over and grabbed her hand, waving at one of the assistants. “Hi, hi, noona, can you get a picture of us with our manager too?” He patted Aviva on her head, ignoring her protests. “We won’t post it anywhere, so just stay still and let us commemorate this moment. You’re part of it too, you know.”

ouch 💔
BC!JK
wow, that hurt.
another shot to your feelings and throwing something back at him, you just nod your head and say “you’re right.”
you head to your room and pack all of your things, your clothes, your toothbrush, everything. you fold the clothes jungkook gave you that one night and put them on the made-up bed so when he comes to maybe clean the room, he won’t have to worry about them.
you throw on a pair of shoes, not even bothering to change out of your pajamas and just leave without uttering another word to jungkook even leaving sage behind.
funny thing is, you never asked for him to understand you. you never asked for anything, really but that’s what you get for not listening your first thought and checking into a hotel.
all you said was that he was wrong for tossing his feelings onto you like that but you don’t expect him to be considerate because he never had to be.
“this isn’t high school, oh yeah? if this isn’t high school then why the fuck are you acting like your shoe size?! i never knew ambushing someone with your feelings was a good thing. you’re so fucking inconsiderate, jungkook. FUCK YOU!!” you scream in your car after throwing your belongings in your backseat. you left out that deep breath you’ve been holding and start your car because sitting in his parking lot just has you pissed off.
you decide to head to the nearest hotel that’s closer to your job and although the check-in is expensive, you’re hoping by the end of this week you’ll be out of here and in your new apartment.
“danielle?”
“hey girlie!! what’s up?”
“can you come over?”
“uh oh…what’s wrong?”
“danny….i just really need you here. i just need someone to hold right now”
“i’m coming. you’re at jungkook’s right?”
“no. i-i left. i’m at a hotel now”
“why are you at a hotel?”
“i’ll tell you when you get here. i’ll send you my location”
“okay. i’ll be there soon. love you”
“love you too”
⏭️⏭️
“what?!!!”
“yeah”
“that’s called emotional dumping y/n. that’s when someone unveils their feelings without awareness of the other person’s emotional state or needs”
“he said he wasn’t expecting—“
“it wasn’t right, y/n! you’re going through a breakup and if he’s been through one then he should know how long it takes for a person to be completely over their partner. it hasn’t even been a week and..oh my God that just pissed me off. i can’t believe him. first eunwoo and now jungkook, why does the men in your life suck?”
you shrug before bringing another spoonful of ice cream to your mouth.
“he’s right about one thing though, eunwoo has changed and you can’t sit here and wish on stars waiting for him to come back to you, y/n. you have to move forward. i’m sure eunwoo loves you but now you have to change your perspective and love yourself”
“you’re right and maybe jungkook—“
“fuck no. i said ONE thing. everything else was just uncalled for. you’re going to move on and guess what? you’ll be loved by a real man who doesn’t kiss you without your consent”
“thanks danny. i really needed this and you know what? i don’t need either of them. i’m going to get over eunwoo and i know i’m going to love myself”
“and i’ll be right here whenever you need me. i’ll be the shoulder for you to lean on, the ear when you need someone to listen, and the arms in case you need a hug”
“i love you so much”
“and i love you too, girl. always”
that evening, you and danielle began looking and calling landlords that are willing to let you rent out an apartment within your budget and you began to feel your spirits lifting again.
reluctantly, you deleted all the pictures of you and eunwoo in your photo gallery, changed your home screen and lock screen, and guess what? you impulsively (very impulsively) bought a cute pomeranian puppy and named her stormy because of her black and brown fur.
⏭️⏭️
“oh there he is!!!!” says jihye as she pulls her son to the living room “jungkook, meet soojin. she’s a model and doesn’t wear shitty coveralls”
He just wanted to cry in his room, bury his head into his pillows and curse you out, but yet he is here at his parents home..
Against his will, really.
And his night has just gotten a lot of worse because soojin is standing right in front of him, along with his dear Mother. “Ahhh I know her.” he rolls his eyes, why the fuck is destiny doing this to him?
He still hasn’t forgotten that she is the reason that he doesn’t have you in the first place, what the fuck is she doing here? He has no idea.. “mother… I don’t want anything to do with her. Can you tell me why I’m here?!” he can’t help with the way his tone is getting sharper and sharper with each word he lets out.
You left him and soojin is trying to come back in his life- and it looks like that his mother will let her, “ I don’t care if I am being rude. I don’t want anything to do with this bitch.”
If anything he has taken from his mother is… every bit of her negative attitude and blunt personality, Jungkook is so fucking depressed that all he wants to do is smoke weed so he can get his mind off of you because alcohol isn’t helping him enough.
You are still in his mind, you even left Sage… that broke his heart even more. “No no no. I don’t want to marry anyone right now and I don’t want to date anyone.”
He crosses his arms across his chest, “you know who I want Mother? And if you can’t give me her- I don’t want anything to do with the girls you show me.” it’s not like his mother can help him get you once again.
What is he going to do?

Timely Fate4
Starting the Paid Service(3)
There were different reactions once the dokkaebi disappeared. Some tried to get off the train, then there were the ones who frantically tried to call the police. Yoo Sangah belonged to the latter group.
"T-the police aren't picking up! What should I do...what do I do..."
"Yoo Sangah-ssi," I said, putting Gilyoung down and taking my headphones back but keeping his line of sight away from all the gore surrounding us. "Calm down." She gave me a pitiful look, tears welling up in her eyes as she stuttered.
"Yoo Sangah-ssi," Dokja said, hands on her shoulder. "Remember the game that the development team made? Have you ever played it? A game where the entire world was destroyed and, in the end, only a few people survives."
"H-huh? W-what are you say..."
"Think about it in this way, we are in a game right now."
Yoo Sangah silently licked her lips, her trembling calming down. "Game..."
"Yes, a game. It's a game, so don't hesitate to do the things that Ha-Neul and I tell you to do, ok?"
"O-ok. What should I do, now?"
"Just stay still." He straightened his back, a sigh of relief escaping his lips before he closed his eyes and opened them back up. He looked around.
[Three Ways to Survive in a Ruined World]
The descriptions that had once existed only in a novel now unfurled themselves before his eyes.
[The dokkaebi stretched out its antenna.]
[The bodies scattered like trash in the carriage.]
[The bloodied office worker trembled.]
[An old lady groaning in her seat.]
It was like Neo in the Matrix. Observing, questioning, and then eventually accepting it. It felt odd to be able to accept such a crazy thing like this as reality, but it was our reality now.
"Come on everybody! We should all calm down. Let's all start breathing calmly." Someone stepped forward exactly five minutes after the dokkaebi had disappeared. "Are you calm yet? Everyone, please stop what you're doing and pay attention to me."
The ones that had been crying as well as those who had been frantically making calls, stopped. Once everyone's attention was gathered to him, he spoke once more. "As you know, in the event of a national disaster, small disturbances can cause large human casualties. That is why I will now take control of the current situation."
"Wait, who are you?"
"A national disaster situation? What are you saying?"
Some people belatedly recovered and strongly resisted the word 'control'. I couldn't help but roll my eyes.
"I am currently an Army lieutenant serving in the 6502 unit. I just received a message from my unit." People gathered around his phone to read the message.
I on the other hand stayed behind with the others. It was a national disaster situation, people were bound to be afraid. The things that happened next would only let their fear grow stronger,
Army Lieutenant Lee Hyunsung.
He was one of the main supporting 'characters' for 'Ways of Survival'.
[Steel Sword Lee Hyunsung]
"Soldier-nim! What is happening?"
"I have been trying to contact my unit, but.."
"Blue house! What is the Blue House doing? Please contact the president quickly!"
"I apologize. I'm just an ordinary soldier so I don't have a hotline for the Blue House."
"Then why are you taking control?"
"For the safety of the citizens."
It was at this moment that I realized the description the novel had given the man wasn't incorrect. Rather, it was extremely accurate. He was upright and attentive. He cared for his country and the people in it. He was a good man.
"The Prime Minister is making a speech! It is a level one disaster!" Everyone turned on their smartphones at the person's cry.
To my fellow citizens, unidentified terrorists are currently in an unspecified number of areas, including Seoul.
'These terrorists will have all of Seoul playing in their palms just for entertainment.' I thought, the idea suddenly startling me. I wasn't listening to the speech, rather I was looking through my bookbag.
"Ah-ha!" I muttered out, pulling Lee Gilyoung closer to me. "Here," I handed him a blue fanny pack and then took out two boxes of matches and put them inside the fanny pack. I took out a few lighters and placed them in, a small pocket knife, a spare taser, and batteries.
"I always carry extras with me. These are for you. Keep the taser at hand at all times. The knife will only be for desperate situations. Press this button to activate it. No, don't press it now! Later." I gave a small sigh as I ruffled his head. "Use these to protect yourself when I can't. The fanny pack is waterproof and so Is everything else but I put everything in a Ziploc bag in case of water somehow getting in. Make sure that the matches never get wet. I wrapped them in a layer of plastic wrap before putting them in the small Ziploc but it doesn't hurt to be careful."
I helped him strap it over a shoulder and under the other one before zipping my bag back up and picking him back up. He gave me a look before snuggling up to my neck. I looked over at Kim Dokja and Yoo Sangah to see they were looking at me with contemplative looks.
"Y-you carry that around with you...all the time?" Yoo Sangah finally got out.
I looked at them before responding. "And more." They shivered as I purposely deepened my voice. I picked up the cricket Gilyoung had dropped and put it in the box and into my bag with the others.
"But where is the President? Why is the Prime Minister making the speech?" The commotion continued. I took a chocolate granola bar and a juice box out of my pockets and handed them to Gilyoung. I loved spoiling him.
"The president has already been hit." Someone responded.
"What! Really?"
"I'm not sure. A Naver comment-"
"Naver! Then it's false!"
Of course, it wasn't.
"Uwaaaack! What?" People dropped their phones as gunshots were heard. It came from their smartphones. Chiiiiick, there was a loud sound and blood filled the screen. Everyone held their breaths as they realized what had just happened.
"P-Prime Minister." His blood filled the screen. The Prime Minister had died in real-time. His head had exploded. The next thing that appeared on the screen was a dokkaebi.
[Everyone, I already told you. This isn't a game like 'terrorism'.]
[Do you still not understand? This won't do. This isn't a game.]
It sounded so ominous though his tone was relaxed.
[According to the data, the people of this country are good at games. So why don't I try raising the difficulty?]
Beep. A huge timer appeared in the air. At the same time, it started decreasing.
[The remaining time has been decreased by ten minutes.]
[Ten minutes are remaining.]
[If the first killing doesn't occur within the next five minutes, all lives in that compartment will be wiped out.]
The words of the dokkaebi drastically changed the situation to a point that Lee Hyunsung couldn't fix it.
"T-There is a murder back there!" Someone shouted, directing everyone's attention to the bloody scene taking place in carriage 3907. The murderer's complexion was white.
[All types of access to the compartment will be restricted until the scenario is complete.]
"W-what?"
Once again. The voice of the dokkaebi rang out through we couldn't see where he was. [Haha, some places are quite fun while others have yet to start. Alright, I'll give you some special service. Let me show you what will happen if the first killing fails to occur in the next five minutes.]
A giant screen appeared out of nowhere.
A boy bit his fingernails as he muttered. "Is that the school uniform of Daepong?"
Beep, beep, beep- an ominous beeping sound was heard.
Then the high school girls began to scream.
[The given time has run out.]
[Paid settlement will now begin.]
Once the announcement ended, the head of the girls sitting in the front row exploded. One by one, again and again, the heads of the girls exploded until one girl managed to strangle the girl next to her until she slowly ran out of breath and collapsed.
In the end, she was the only one remaining.
[#Bay23515 channel. Daepong Girls' High School, Year two Class B Survivor: Lee Jihye]
The figure of the girl on the screen disappeared. Then the dokkaebi asked, how is it? Interesting?]
The dokkaebi spoke with a smile. Everyone started looking at each other nervously, others turned vicious. Slowly people started spreading out, getting farther and farther away from the others. The only ones who remained in the same area were Lee Hyunsung, Kim Dokja, Yoo Sangah, Lee Gilyoung and me.
I could see Dokja panicking. A flicker of realization passed through his eyes and I felt like smacking myself. He had gotten a PDF from the author but didn't realize that it was the entire novel. And he was still waiting for him to appear.
Yoo Jonghyuk.
My best friend for over ten years.
And the protagonist of 'Three Ways to Survive in A Ruined World.'
