Sakuatsu AU Warning: Supernatural elements

Grandmother Miya passes away. She was a renowned Izuna-tsukai and now her kuda-gitsune, Omi, must select a new host.

Everyone thinks it will be one of the twins, but neither of them appear to exhibit the signs of a Kitsune-tsuki.

At least at first, but one day while out on a run, Osamu crosses paths with a stray dog and freaks out. He screams ferally and hissing and spitting in such a way that onlookers think he's gone absolutely mad.

The main family is thrilled, they were worried that the Izuna had moved on to a distant branch family member. Atsumu is relieved, he didn't want anything to do with all this superstitious fox-possession crap. But...

He's been having dreams from when they were children, of another little boy who used to play with them. A small pale boy in a kimono with dark and curly hair. He puts it down to grief, since obaa-chan hasn't been dead that long and he's been reminiscing too much.

The dreams go on for weeks and things start to take a skin crawling turn. His brother, now ensconced in the shrine occasionally goes into fits. He stares through the walls and screams at the main house, yowling like an animal fighting over territory.

Atsumu feels like he's being watched, all the time and not because of the Kitsune now latched on to Osamu. The sensation follows him when he's outside sweeping the yard, when he goes to school, when he's on a date.

It's worse on the date, and it ends so badly he knows she'll never call him again. He goes home dejected and frustrated. Just as he steps through the front gate, a tall shadow looms over him and shoves him against a pillar.

"What are you doing at a time like this?" growls a low voice in his ear.

"What the f-" Atsumu starts to curse, but it dies on his tongue as he sees an imposing man with curly black hair standing over him. "Who are you?"

The man frowns even deeper, his brows knitting together in a way that makes the two moles on his forehead wriggle.

"The question you should be asking is who is that?" he spits, pointing at the shrine.

"What... What do you mean?" asks Atsumu.

"I mean, who is sitting in my seat! Idiot!"

"It's Samu! Samu's the Izuna-tsukai now!"

There appears to be some sort of miscommunication because the two moles do another wiggling sort of dance before the man grabs Atsumu with surprising strength and drags him towards the shrine.

He yanks the *locked* door off its hinges and points at Osamu who's hunched up and keening between bared teeth. It's the first time Atsumu has seen his twin in weeks and he... looks wrong. Obaa-chan was never like this, she never seemed any different from a normal human.

Osamu looks positively wild, there are food stains on his hands and whatever clothes they tried to put on him have been torn off. The stranger growls, clicking his tongue as he approaches Atsumu's twin.

"Get out." he warns, but then flings out a hand pre-emptively to stop Atsumu from leaving. "Not you."

But Atsumu wasn't going anywhere, he's equal parts terrified and worried for his brother.

Osamu pants heavily, still staring defiantly up at the stranger as he approaches.

Inky black eyes meet feral grey.

Osamu is sweating profusely, but he bares his teeth in a lazy smile that doesn't match the wildness of his dilated pupils. When he finally speaks, to Atsumu's horror, it's with the voice of another stranger.

"I'm not going anywhere, Ki-yo-omi."

Squinting your eye through the scope on an empty office building, your eye catches the new target you’re supposed to take out for your leader.

It’s already past midnight.

Sitting behind your sniper rifle that’s placed firm on the ground, you don’t hear the footsteps behind you.

"How’s it goin' beautiful?" Someone whispers in your ear.

Screaming in shock, your natural instincts grab the crowbar next to you, swinging it blindly behind you to attack the stranger.

But your swing comes to a stop when the person holds tightly onto the bar, an infuriating sexy smirk covers his face as he looks at you with his hazelnut-brown eyes.

"Tsumu! What the HELL are you doing up here?!" You hiss at your sandy-blonde lover.

"Came ta see my beautiful baby workin'. Shootin' the next target like a gun master." He walks past you and looks through the scope to see your target.

His usual closed-off outfit is traded today with a white loose shirt and black jeans.

It’s unusual, seeing the kitsune and wolf tattoos on his arms in public and it’s making your heart flutter.

Scoffing at his flirtatious remark, you gently push him to the side, remaining your position.

He sets his head down on your shoulder, rubbing his cheek against yours like an affectionate cat. You swear you can even hear him purring.

"Don’t you have some things to do? Threaten someone? Kill someone? Annoy your brother by any chance?" Adjusting the sharpness of your scope your finger finds the trigger, ready for shooting your target.

"Meh, Samu is busy screwin' his new flame from Itachiyama, an' their fuckin' sounds are reachin' every room in the apartment. Plus I ain’t seen my precious killer babe in a looooong time." He whines with a big pout on his face.

"We saw each other this morning. When I left your apartment to get back to headquarters as my presence was requested." You say with a deadpan voice, already annoyed that your boyfriend is messing with your concentration.

"That’s already way too long." He mumbles quietly, watching you work with intrigued eyes.

Pulling the trigger, you see the guy falling to the ground, not moving any longer and you pack your gun away, putting it back into its case and getting out of your current position.

"Baby, let’s do somethin' together. We haven’t had a date in a while."

"Maybe later, I need to report back." You take the stairs down in the building, your boyfriend hot on your heels.

"Why don' we head there together, 'm sure one of the torture rooms should be unoccupied." He smirks when you halt your steps, turning your annoyed face to see his lustful gaze upon you.

"You’re a freak, you know that?" You continue your steps down.

"If anythin', I’m yer freak. Yannow I love it when ya use the ties and the strangler on me." Atsumu sighs dreamily, remembering the times you used the devices on him.

Reaching your car, you see Suna leaning against it, waiting for you.

But you also see Ginjima with another car, who is visibly annoyed but not surprised that he finds Atsumu with you.

"Well hotstuff, I will see you later on. Try not to die. Still need you for certain activities later on." You wink at your lover as you get in the car.

"Rawr, love it when yer like this." He purrs and lets you go, while Suna and Ginjima gag at your exchanged words of love.

Kitsune Atsumu always wears a mask when he meets with tengu Sakusa. That means Sakusa has never seen Atsumu's face, so he made the mistake of confessing to Osamu. But realizes he was wrong when Atsumu threw his geta at him, yelling, "that's my twin ya stupid tengu! That's Osamu! I'm Atsumu!"

"You never told me you had a twin!" Sakusa yells back after picking up Atsumu's geta and returning it to him.

"Well, ya never asked," Atsumu says, then lets Sakusa put his geta on his foot.

Sakusa rolls his eyes, "I just lost the mood to confess. I'll do it next time," he says and walks away, but Atsumu grabs his arm, "but I wanna hear it,"

Atsumu looked at him with such adorable eyes that he couldn't resist, "fine, I love you," Sakusa said and kissed Atsumu's forehead.

Rate: 10/10!!!! PROLLY 1000000/10. This story is probably my favorite of them all. Its basically a Tangled Au but with a twist and I just love the plot, the twist and all of the slow burn and Sakusa being Sakusa, a damn tsundere. But overall, this is my favorite reads♡

Chiyo hasn't been feeling too well recently; she doesn't say it, but Atsumu can feel it. Maybe it's the struggles of a first year college student, the torments of living on her own for the first time - as usual, she stubbornly refuses to burden him (or anyone, for that matter) with her troubles… so Atsumu decides, for once, to not press her and instead to clown around: seeing her focused on her sketchpad, he flops on her bed… and strikes a pose. "Draw me like one of yer French girls." He demands in his most velvety voice (accompanied by his heaviest kansai accent - a guaranteed effect, surely).

     she underestimated how difficult this would be. moving hours away from her parents and grandmother, living alone, and just college itself -- god, chiyo really thought she’d be right as rain, perfectly suited for an independent lifestyle, but it’s been one of the hardest things she’s ever done. maybe the hardest, actually. she didn’t realize how much she would miss complaining to her mother about her classes, or watching anime with her dad after school, or visiting her grandmother on the weekends. she didn’t realize how much lonelier it would feel to start all over on her own, either, and chiyo certainly couldn’t have guessed that she might struggle with the workload her classes would give her.

     actually, she should have seen that last one coming. she’s always been a chronic procrastinator, and growing a little older hasn’t changed that one bit.

     a sigh bubbles inside chiyo until it’s pushing past her lips, deflating her frame; her shoulders droop as she studies the rough sketch of what will eventually be a kitsune ( and yes, she may be influenced by the mascot of a certain school that a certain set of twins attend ). art has been hard, too, like all of the creativity she once possessed left her the minute she stepped foot out of miyagi. that’s particularly hurt because drawing has always been an outlet, a way to get out of her head, and now... well, she feels a little stuck. she feels a lot stuck.

     she also feels like crying ( and immediately squashes that urge, of course! ), but then atsumu plops down on her bed, posing there with his head propped up on one elbow and with a smile that already has her grinning back when---

     “ draw me like one of yer french girls. ”

     he says it in such a sultry tone and in what has to be the thickest kansai accent he’s ever used, and it shouldn’t be so funny, but it is. it’s silly and unexpected and replaces the heaviness in chiyo’s chest with laughter that brings tears to her eyes, has her forgetting all about the kitsune and school and being homesick. even if just for a few moments, chiyo feels completely at ease again. “ you’re such a dork! ” she snorts, like really snorts in the middle of laughing, and that just starts her right back up. 

     though the transition has been hard as hell, chiyo can’t deny the silver linings that have made it all bearable -- grandma miya, osamu, and atsumu. it’s moments like these that remind her all of this is worth it because right now, things are rough. she’s happy and unhappy and just as sure as she is unsure of what she’s doing, but it won’t be this way forever. if she could go almost her entire childhood seeing the miya’s only during vacations, then she can go just a few years seeing her parents only during vacations; if she could befriend two competitive boys who hadn’t entirely wanted her friendship at first, then she can befriend a couple of strangers who are in the same boat as her; and if she somehow made it into this college, then she can certainly get a handle on these classes.

     in the meantime, while chiyo struggles and stumbles, she’ll have one blonde goofball to remind her to laugh, and she really couldn’t be more thankful. 

     “ how about--- ” a giggle tries to slip out again, but chiyo takes a breath and just grins wide as can be at her boyfriend. “ how about you try to draw me, tsumu? i could use another laugh. ”
