“you wanna kiss me so bad it makes you look stupid.”
- Josie
“you wanna kiss me so bad it makes you look stupid.”
pronouns: he/him/his, male
may butcher Josie's personality, haven't watched the show in a while
Tumblr media
"I can't believe you'd do something so reckless! I mean, do you ever think? What if something had happened?! What if-"
"I took care of the monster and saved Hope, Josette. Christ, what more do you want from me?"
"What more do I want from you? What more do I want from you? I want you to stop being so careless! Hope could've gotten hurt if your rogue plan hadn't worked! You could've gotten hurt."
The students of Salvatore Boarding School were quick to move out of the way for the two as they walked down the halls and toward the dorms. Most were keen on staying out of the way of two equally irritated supernaturals, especially when one was a powerful witch and the other a strong werewolf.
Their footsteps thundered down the hall, the lights occasionally flickering when Josie spoke and (Y/N)'s eyes alternating between gold and (E/C). The other students could only hopelessly glance at each other and pray the dorms remained intact by the time the two calmed down and went their separate ways.
"Here's a brilliant idea, Josette. Why don't you stop caring so much about everyone around you and start worrying about yourself? You got distracted-"
"Because you suddenly disappeared on us!" Josie nearly shrieked, prompting the lights to flicker violently until she took in a deep breath to calm her racing heart and the annoyance bubbling inside her. (Y/N) merely casted a glance over his shoulder at the witch and tossed open the door to his dorm. Shooting his dormmate a glare, the other werewolf scrambled out of the room and shouldered past Josie.
"And why do you care? Your sister was there, your father was there. All you've done since I joined this school is whine about one thing and cry about another whenever I so much as breathe."
"Because all you've done since joining the school is cause trouble! You dethroned Jed and took his pack, you constantly go into fights without thinking, you sleep around with anyone who shows interest-"
"What the hell does my personal life have to do with this?!"
Josie's cheeks flushed and she turned her head away from him with a quiet huff. "B-Because... because teen pregnancy is a serious issue and we don't need more hybrids running around."
"Is that it? Really? It's not because you wanna kiss me so bad it makes you look stupid? It's not because you're jealous? It's not because you've been waiting for me to realize you like me?"
"I-I-I don't know what you're talking about. I don't like you. Y-You're... you're my classmate! My dad is the headmaster, it's my duty to make sure his students are safe." Josie stuttered, her face turning a deeper shade of red that only intensified when (Y/N) stepped into her personal space.
"What do you want, Josie? Just tell me the truth."

A few days after the incident in the cafeteria Y/N began to slowly talk to the witches and vampires, but still kept her distance from the werewolves. After what happened she didn’t want to give them any ammunition against her. For whatever reason, she noticed that Jed was constantly trying to talk to her or apologize for the events that happened days prior. She really didn’t want anything to do with him or his pack considering they were just trying to pick a fight with her for no reason, but Jed really did want to apologize to her.
Y/N had a study hall, which she generally spent with the twins and Hope. She was already sitting at their usual spot in the student lounge, working on her homework and waiting for the girls. Jed just so happened to have a study hall as well, but most of his were recently trying to figure out what he was going to say to Y/N. Today was the day he decided to pull on his big boy pants and just talk to her. Taking in a deep breathe he walked over to where she was sitting and sat in the chair opposite of her.
“I know you probably don’t want to talk to me but I want to get to know you and apologize for what my pack did the other day in the cafeteria.” Jed said quickly. Y/N looked up from her notebook, a clear ‘I’m not interested’ look plastered on her face. “Please let me make it up to you.” There was a moment of silence before she let out a sigh and nodded in agreement. Jed grinned as he stood up, clapping his hands together. “Great, uh okay, tonight around seven?” Y/N agreed and Jed finally left her alone just as the other three girls showed up. They all eyed Jed, giving him a death glare as he walked by them.
Jade let out a breathe of relief as he went to go find Landon, Kaleb and M.G. After walking around the school for a few minutes he found them in Landon’s room, all of them arguing about which Superman actor was the best.
“Nah man, Henry Cavil as Superman was the best, he just embodied it more.” M.G argued with Landon as he shook his head at him.
Landon let out a grunt as he leaned back against his head board. “The original Superman was the best, I don’t get why you can’t understand that.” Their stupid banter was cut short as Kaleb looked over at an awkward Jed standing in the doorway. “Uh, hey man, can we help you?” Landon said as looked just confused as his two vampire friends.
“I need your guys’ help with setting up a date tonight to make it up to Y/N.” Jed spoked quickly, his nerves starting to get the best of him.
Kaleb snorted as he shook his head, “And why should we help you? You’re the one that fucked up with your little crush.” Kaleb rolled his eyes.
Jed balled up his fists and clenched his jaw. “She’s not just a crush.” He said as he began to calm himself down, “She’s my mate, and I feel horrible about what happened in the cafeteria.” He said softly, sincerity was laced in his voice which told the three boys that he was serious about making it up to Y/N.
As much as the three boys didn’t like Jed for everything he had done to them and how he treated all of them, they could tell by the way he was fiddling with his hands and tapping his feet, he was nervous and really wanted everything to be perfect.
M.G. nodded as he stood up, “I’ll help, but only because Y/N deserves to know that she has people that care about her.” Jed nodded in agreement and glanced over at the other two students. They groaned as they grumbled a ‘fine’, all three of them going along with whatever was about to happen.
“Do you at least have any plans? You’re not just gonna get her and not having anything to do right?” Kaleb questioned as he raised an eyebrow at the werewolf. Jed stayed silent. “So not only are we helping you get this ready for Y/N, we’re helping you plan the whole thing because apparently you can’t plan something as simple as this.”
Jed rolled his eyes, “It’s not as simple as you think. She’s my mate and I messed up with what happened the other day, she deserves to know how I feel and everything needs to be perfect.” The three boys sighed as they put their belongings to the side and made a spot for Jed in their group. Jed walked over to where they were, taking a seat on the floor and pulling a notebook out from his backpack.
The four students planned the nights events during their off period and during lunch, making sure that Jed had all of his bases covered. They had decided to go with a night time picnic, making one of Y/n’s favorite dishes but also making sure to keep a blood bag cooled in the basket. They were going to set it all up in the witches hang out spot, thinking that it would be more romantic and secluded there than anywhere else. Everything seemed good so far, they had the place, time, meals, it seemed perfect.
That was until someone told the rest of the werewolves and they were making it their mission to sabotage the evening.
Jed and the other three boys began putting everything together for the nights events once school was over, which was around three o’clock. MG and Landon were on decorations out in the little witch hide out while Jed and Kaleb were on meal prepping. Though Kaleb hated the boy, he did have to admit that what he was doing for Y/N was sweet and he thought it was almost honorable that he was going to such lengths to apologize to Y/N.
Kaleb let out an awkward cough as he walked across the kitchen to grab some ingredients for his side of the meal he was making. “You know man, I think it really is nice what you’re doing for Y/N. It shows that you really care about her.” Jed was taken back a bit, surprised that such kind words came out of Kaleb’s mouth.
Instead of saying some snarky comment he replied with a simple ‘thank you’, before the two fell back into silence.
While the boys had been preparing for the night, they had managed to rope the girls into their plans and got them to help Y/N get ready for the evening. Yes she did know that her and Jed were having dinner that evening, but she didn’t know just how far he was taking it. When Lizzie began pulling out these fancy dresses she thought the girls were really just out here trying to get her laid. It aggravated Y/N that everyone else knew what was happening but she had no clue. Being left in the dark was her least favorite thing, it meant she couldn’t prepare for things.
“Hello, earth to Y/N.” Lizzie snapped her fingers in front of the heretic’s face, causing Y/N to snap out of her daze. Her eyes locked onto Lizzie who had an annoyed expression on her face since Y/N wasn’t paying attention to what she had just asked her.
Y/N hummed looking at her like she had been listening, tilting her head to try and make it more convincing. “I’m sorry, what did you say?” Y/N asked.
Lizzie rolled her eyes as she held up two dresses.  One was a longer floral dress with a slit up the side, and the other was a slightly shorter floral dress as well. In Y/N’s eyes she didn’t see the difference between the two dresses, they were just clothes. Lizzie handed her the first dress since Y/N didn’t want to make a decision and told her to go put it on. Y/N did so with an annoyed groan. Did she think something spontaneous was going to come out of this? Y/N was only being nice to Jed and that’s why she accepted his offer for dinner tonight, there was nothing else to it.
Y/N slid into the dress, sighing as she didn’t want to see what she looked like in it, she was never one to dress up and draw extra attention to herself. She got enough that being a heretic. She stepped out of the bathroom, smoothing down the sides of the dress and looking up at the three girls were gawking at the sigh in front of her.
“What? Does it not look good?” Why was she stressing over this? It’s not like this was a date or anything. “Maybe I should just put my other clothes back on.” As she went to reach for the outfit she wore earlier that day Josie stopped her by gently grabbing her wrist.
“You look amazing, Y/N. You should see for yourself.” She said as she turned her friend towards the mirror. Y/N looked up at her reflection, her own gasp almost escaping her lips. She did look good, really good in fact. The dress hugged her just right, every curve, roll, and dip of her body the dress perfected it.
Y/N could see the girls smiling behind her causing her to smile herself. She had never felt so.. happy with how she looked before, this was a first for her. The girls continued on their quest to help Y/N get ready for the rest of the evening.
About an hour and half later, Landon came knocking on the door to see if Y/N was ready yet. Thankfully they had just finished up her hair and she was ready to go. She hugged the girls and thanked them as she walked out and followed a very speedy Landon down the stairs. He didn’t walk her all the way out to where Jed had set up their evening.
Y/N followed the trail of fairy light along a pebbled path until she reached the witch’s hiding area. It was decorated quite nicely, even she would have to admit that the boy had put in a lot of effort to make the place look nice. Y/N’s doubts about the werewolf hadn’t completely faded as she hadn’t seen any sign of him, that was until she saw him lighting a few more candles around the edges of the small building to give it some more light.
“Looks like you’ve really out done yourself, huh?” Y/N said as she stepped under the roof. Jed quickly turned around, nearly knocking over a candle and setting the place on fire. She chuckled at his clumsiness and walked over to the table.
Jed cleared his throat as he smoothed out his blazer. “You look amazing.” Jed’s breathe seemed to have a hard time returning to his body after his first look at the girl in front of him. Of course he thought she was beautiful anyways, but this? This was something else. Jed walked over to where Y/N was going and pulled out the chair for her to sit. She did so, mumbling a soft ‘thank you’. The werewolf walked back over to his seat and smiled awkwardly.
Yes, Jed had been on dates before, many dates to be honest, but this was his fist date with his mate. The person he’d be spending the rest of his life with if the world would to be so kind and allow that to happen. He reached into the center of the table and unveiled the nights meal, Korean beef bowls with fried dumplings. Y/N was a little shocked to say the least, Korean food was one of her favorite foods so the fact that he made her something she enjoyed was pretty unexpected.
“Kaleb said you liked Korean food and I remember my parents teaching me how to make this so I thought it was a good idea.” Jed nervously explained as he handed one the bowls to Y/N. She took with a smile.
“It’s great thank you.” She said softly. Her hard exterior was finally starting to come down, something that rarely happened even if she was with close friends and family. Jed smiled as the two began to eat and make small talk, the two finally learning new things about the other.
There was no doubt in Y/N’s mind that something was.. different when she talked to Jed. She felt safe, which was a new feeling for her since she had literally been hunted down and despised her whole life. She felt like she was able to talk to him about anything, though she knew she wouldn’t because of how bad of an idea it was, she still felt like she could.
As the night went on Jed kept trying to figure out how he was going to tell Y/N that she was his mate. The one she was meant to be with forever. It’s not something to take lightly, and lord knows what a half witch, half vampire would think about this. Y/N would for sure thing Jed was playing another sick joke on her, something the pack put him up to. It was eating away at him on the insides, he just wanted to blurt it out and clear the air.
That’s kind of what happened.
Jed was about to explain everything to her, from why he was so mean to her on her first day, to the moment he invited her to eat lunch with him and the rest of his pack, to that very moment of the two teens sitting and enjoying a meal. That didn’t happen though.
Somewhere around them there were pack members ready to pounce on their prey and ruin Jed and Y/N’s night. The girl from before, the one who had started trouble with Y/N in the first place, wanted revenge for being humiliated in front of the whole school. In the midst of her anger, she and a few other werewolves who weren’t too fond of the new girl, hatched a plan to completely ruin Jed’s wonderfully planned evening and to make his mate hate him forever.
She nodded to her pack members as they emerged from a few bushes, all of them holding a dark colored liquid that resembled blood a little too well. As soon Y/N caught their scent she had stopped talking and narrowed her eyes at Jed. He was confused at first, and then he saw his friends.
“Well, what do we have here?” The girl hummed. She swung the bottle around haphazardly, not having a care in a world what would happen if it splashes onto the two.
Jed stood up in a protective type stance, his hands bawled at his sides. “What are you doing here?” Jed was pissed, that much was obvious. Y/N watched as they slowly became surrounded by the small group of wolves, all of them holding identical bottles.
“Just came to see if you told your mate, what she is to you.” One of the other wolves sneered, “wanted to see if you told her the truth yet.”
Y/N was beyond confused and looked at Jed with raised eyebrows, her arms crossing over her chest as she waited for a response. There was chuckling all around her as the wolves drew closer, encasing them in their circle.
“It looks like you haven’t yet, have you?” They mused towards Jed, he looked at Y/N with a wary glance. Y/N looked at them, wondering if any of them were going to spit it out or not. They looked her dead in the eye as the opened up their bottles with a wicked grin. “He thinks you’re a nasty bloodsucker that he’s stuck with as a mate.” Without any further hesitation they doused the teens in a waterfall of the deep red liquid. It wasn’t blood, probably watered-down fake blood, but it still triggered Y/N.
Her dress, the one that wasn’t even hers to begin with, was now stained red as if she had just gone on a ripper rampage, she was just told this was all another joke and everyone basically thought of her as a monster. She couldn’t hold back anymore as her fangs released themselves and she made her way towards each of the werewolves.
The scene unfolding before Jed’s eyes could have honestly been from a horror movie with the way everything was moving. Before Jed had even realized, Y/N had put two of the werewolves on the ground in a whimpering mess. They were hurt, badly as it seemed to be. She took them out one by one, switching between her strength and then spells. She had the last wolf corned against the wall as they tried to back away from her as far as they could. Her hand wrapped around their throat, squeezing slightly as she growled at them, “You come near me again I’ll rip your hearts from your chests and use them as sacrifices, do you understand me?” Her voice was terrifying, menacing even.
The wolf nodded as she threw him against the wall then skirted off with the rest of his pals. Y/N was never one to lose control the way she just did, but after all this torment from the wolves they needed to put into place.
As if it was second nature, she calmed down with a few mumbled curses under her breathe before she turned to face Jed. This would not be easy to recover from. He saw her lash out, he saw what she could do and how utterly terrifying she can be. She was a monster, one that didn’t deserve a mate like Jed.
The boy was still stuck in his original place, the blood drying to his clothes and staining them. Jed went to go move forward to Y/N, but in return she stepped back even more. She was trying to stop the tears forming in her eyes, though it seemed her body and emotions were getting the best of her. Jed looked sad, he felt sad. Why would his pack, his friends ruin this? They all go to same school, they all share the same walls of the school. Why was her being his mate so horrible to them?
Before Jed could even get a word in to Y/N they heard rapid footsteps approaching, turning their attention to the group of friends that stood behind them. Y/N turned around to look at their faces, sure that they’d all hate after how she lost her temper.
“Oh my god,” Josie covered her mouth in shock as she looked at the scene. Though the wolves were no longer present, the blood stained clothes and tears in Y/N’s eyes said enough.
“I’m so sorry,” Y/N whispered softly as she looked at the group, tears now falling freely down her cheeks. “They ruined the dress- I’m so so sorry. I can pay to have it cleaned, or buy a new one, I’m so sorry.” Y/N was rambling about something that didn’t even really matter, but yet she was still worried about it.
Josie, Lizzie, and Hope walked towards Y/N as she stayed still in her place, not daring to move. “Y/N, we don’t care about the dress.” Lizzie said softly, “We wanted to make sure you’re okay.”
At that moment she lost it, crying so hard her knees almost gave out below her. She shook her head rapidly, sobbing as loud as her chest would allow her to. “No, no I’m not okay. I don’t understand why they hate me so much, I haven’t done anything to them!” She exclaimed rather harshly. “I hate it here, I hate this.” She sobbed.
Hope looked at Jed who was still standing their quietly. The tribrid was giving him the death stare, and boy if looks could kill he’d for sure be dead. Jed was staring at his alpha, Raphael. He was begging for help, any help in fact. He didn’t like seeing his mate in pain, sobbing that she hated their school and possibly him. This was his chance to make up for what his pack had done the other day at lunch, but here they were again, his pack ruining everything for him.
Anyone with a good pair of eyes would be able to tell that Kaleb and M.G. were pissed beyond belief. Their eyes locked onto the young wolf, and if it weren’t for Raphael being there they would’ve ripped him a new one.
Y/N turned towards Jed after a moment, her tears mixing with the dried fake blood, her mascara running down her face. “I no longer wish to be your mate.” She said in a dead tone. “I will not be treated like this, and if it is true that you are my... mate, I do not wish for this to go any farther.” She didn’t think that saying those words would have hurt as much as they did, but now she felt like she was having her crushed with a mallet over and over again.
Jed’s heart fell to his stomach at her words. He was losing his mate, all because his stupid pack wouldn’t accept the truth. “No, no please I promise you they were lying. Not about you being my mate, that is true, but I don’t think you’re a monster. I want you as my mate, please.” Jed had managed to get within a few feet of Y/N and now she could see that he was also crying. Y/N looked down at her feet, refusing to look him in the eye.
“This was a mistake,” She mumbled towards so the ground, “it was all a mistake and I’m sorry it put you through so much trouble.” Jed’s heart was breaking, he felt like his life would end right then and there. Y/N turned back to her friends who were shocked that she had just ended with things, and more importantly that Jed was pleading for her to stay.
Without another word Y/N began the walk back to the school, cloaking herself in the invisibility spell as she walked. The group followed, leaving Jed there in the dark to cry to himself.
-
Days passed after that horrid night and no one had seen or heard from Jed and Y/N as the two had locked themselves in their rooms. They stayed there all day and night, only occasionally coming out to get food or shower.
While the vampires and witches were trying to console Y/N and reassure her that she did nothing wrong and was not a monster, the werewolves were out spreading rumors about that night. She heard everything of course, between gossip and her advanced hearing, it wasn’t hard to miss
Jed wanted revenge. He was angry, pissed off beyond belief. These people were supposed to be his family, his pack, and they went out of their way to make his life a living hell so that he wouldn’t have his mate. No matter their reasons behind it, they were all probably insanely stupid anyways, he was going to get back at them for what they did and get his mate back.
Most of the time he’d spend in his room he was hatching a plan to get back at his pack and teach them a lesson. He knew that practically all of the pack had not met their mates yet, the few that have had not gotten involved in the fighting over his mate. He’d hit them where it hurts and then go plead with Y/N to get her back.
Meanwhile, Y/N was looking at other schools for the supernatural. She really didn’t need to be in a school for the supernatural, but she figured it’d be easier to go there then to a regular human high school. She no longer wished to be within the same walls as her mate, even if she barely knew him, having told him that she did not want to be his mate made her heart ache in ways she didn’t know were possible.
Y/N’s music was playing softly in the background of her room as she looked at the dark web for the supernatural to find another school to go to. Any would be fine, there were a few out there, not a lot took heretics or mixed the species, but there were a few that did. Too lost in thought as she scrolled through a school in London had she missed the knock on her door. She ignored it, turning her music up a bit to drown out the person on the other side of the door, but unfortunately this person seemed very persistent.
“Go away!” Y/N shouted to the person on the other side of the door. The knocking continued, making Y/N more agitated. She got up, slamming her laptop shut as she marched to the door and threw it open. “I said ‘go away’, do you not understand that?” She growled, her anger get the best of her and turning her eyes that vibrant purple.
Jed stood there, mouth dry and heart racing. It took Y/N a moment to realize that it was him standing there and one her anger stopped blinding her, she shrank back a bit and stepped further behind the door. Jed was holding flowers and her favorite candy, the saddest most desperate look crossing his face as he looked at his mate.
Slowly he held out the gifts as he stuttered out an apology, “I’m sorry for what happened the other night, I want you to know that and I want you to know that- that I don’t see you as a monster or anything like that. I see you as my mate, someone I want to be with until the day I die and I will do absolutely anything for you to understand that.”
Y/N looked down at her slippers, the only shoes she had been wearing since that horrific night. “I- I don’t know, I don’t think this- whatever it is, would work. It’s just not in the cards for either one of us.” She mumbled as she was about to turn her back and close the door, but Jed’s foot got in the way of that.
“Tell me you don’t feel anything, and if you don’t then I’ll leave you alone but I know you have to feel something.” His eyes were pleading for her to say that she felt something like he did, that she felt the connection but instead she shook her head and lied.
“I- I don’t feel anything for you. I’m sorry.” Before Jed was able to get out another word Y/N had the door closed and locked. The pain they both felt was enough to make them stop breathing for a few seconds. Both of them waited on their sides of the doors, hoping the other would continue to fight for their mating bond, but that is not what happened.
Too much pain and heartbreak had been endured by these two teens, but there was still more to come..

Friends Don't

Meet me in the Common Room, midnight - S
Y/N looked across the cauldrons at Sebastian and nodded once, a small smile on her face. He grinned back, before turning to face Professor Sharp before he could get caught not paying attention.
“Is that a love letter from Sallow?” Imelda leant forward, a teasing smirk on her face.
“Come off it,” Y/N rolled her eyes and tucked the note into her textbook. “You know we’re just friends.”
“Friends don’t look at friends that way,” she shot a look over at Sebastian, who was standing over his cauldron with a confused look on his face. His brow was furrowed as he looked between his textbook and the potion he was making, which was supposed to be a teal colour, but was currently navy blue. “Point proven.” Y/N turned back to her with an unimpressed glare as she stirred her own potion (which was the correct shade of teal).
“You need a new hobby. Clearly Quidditch isn’t keeping you busy enough.”
“Watching you and Sallow pine after each other like lovesick Crup puppies is my new hobby.”
“You’re incorrigible.”
“And you’re in denial,” Imelda smiled sweetly as Y/N and turned back to her potion as Professor Sharp made his rounds by their station. He stopped by Sebastian’s smoking cauldron with a sigh and quiet reprimand (You’re usually better than this Mr Sallow) before moving onto the next group of students.
“If you’ve been following the instructions in your books,” Professor Sharp called out, “your potions should start turning pink as you stir it. Once it’s the right shade you may place the final ingredient in.”
Y/N watched in fascination as the contents of her cauldron began to change colour with every clockwise rotation of her wand. Although she had now been attending Hogwarts for two years, magic never failed to amaze her. She couldn’t believe she had gone the majority of her life not knowing it existed. The colour eventually shifted to the pale pink that Professor Sharp had spoken about and Y/N added the crushed moonstone and watched it take on a pearlescent sheen.
“Ten points to Slytherin, Miss Y/L/N. Would you care to share with the class?” Sharp loomed over her shoulder, peering into her cauldron. Y/N watched as the class looked over curiously and caught Sebastian’s eye. He raised an eyebrow, clearly impressed with her, and looked down at her potion as if to say well, go on then. She leant forward to smell the contents of the cauldron, trying to decipher the scents coming from in front of her. Petrichor, wildflowers and…oh. Y/N blinked and leant back so she could pick up the coffee beans Sharp had left on each station so they had a palate cleanser. After a quick smell of the bitter grounds she turned to her cauldron again. Oh.
“Well?” Imelda asked her.
“If it’s all the same, Professor. I’d rather not,” Y/N muttered, her face flaming. The class broke into a chorus of whispers, all trying to guess what scent had turned the Hero of Hogwarts a pretty shade of pink. Although it was hidden well, Y/N watched as Sharp’s mouth twitched up in amusement before he moved on from her.
“What did you smell?” Imelda whispered to her. Y/N shook her head, her heart thundering in her chest. She couldn’t tell anyone she had smelled Sebastian’s smoky cologne, the one that seemed to stick to him all day even though he barely used it. Imelda looked between Y/N’s red face and her cauldron before looking across the station to Sebastian and a knowing smirk fell on her features. “Sebastian…” Y/N shot her a warning look, which Imelda pointedly ignored. “What do you smell?”
“Nice try, Imelda,” he chuckled and stirred his own potion. “I’m not falling for that.”
“You’re both no fun.”
“Just because yours is probably something predictable like broom polish doesn’t mean we’re not fun for not wanting to share,” Y/N shot. Imelda let out a laugh and patted her friend’s hand.
“Careful there Y/L/N, I’ve still got some cards up my sleeve for you.”
“You wouldn’t dare,” Y/N glared at the girl next to her, stomach churning nervously. Imelda just grinned at her before adding her own crushed moonstone to her cauldron, signalling the end of the conversation. Y/N was vaguely aware of Sebastian watching them curiously from across the potions station and turned to face the raven-haired girl next to her, clutching the sleeve of her robes. “Imelda.”
“Calm down,” she laughed quietly and leant in so no one else could hear. “Your not-so-secret crush on Sallow is safe with me. I actually quite enjoy watching you two act like you don’t have feelings for each other.” With a wave of her wand, Imelda tidied her potions station and left the class swiftly, just as the bell rang outside. Y/N cursed the day she met the girl, and more specifically, became friends with her after completing all of her stupid broom trials, and quickly cleaned her own station before leaving the classroom. It wasn’t until she was halfway to the Great Hall for dinner that she realised what Imelda had implied with her parting words.
Sebastian couldn’t have feelings for me, she wondered, chewing on her bottom lip thoughtfully, could he? No, that’s ridiculous, she shook her head to rid herself of the assumption.
“Careful, Y/N,” a hand grabbed the back of her robes and gently tugged her back a couple of steps before she could fall off the Grand Staircase. “You’re usually more aware than this, where did you go?” Sebastian looked concerned and pulled her away from a crowd of students that was walking their way. Y/N looked up at him, craning her neck more than she used to when they met in fifth year. Sometime in the summer between fifth and sixth year Sebastian had really come into his own. He had always been attractive, but somewhere along the way, without her really noticing, he had suddenly shot up and filled out. The jumper he wore to fight the perpetual chill in the dungeons did little to cover up the muscle that had seemingly appeared out of nowhere.
“Dinner, I’m starving,” she lied, freeing her robes from his grasp so she could continue to walk towards the Great Hall. “How’s Ominis? I haven’t heard from him much since he went on his unsanctioned visit to see Anne.” Although he grumbled like he was annoyed, Y/N knew deep down Sebastian was a little pleased that his best friend and sister had finally started to court a few months ago. Apparently watching Ominis pretend he hadn’t been in love with her since they were children was sickening to say the least.
Y/N was relieved when Anne reached out to Sebastian at the beginning of their final year at Hogwarts and extended an olive branch. She watched as Sebastian had read the initial letter, a wide smile on his face and unshed tears in his eyes before he brandished the piece of parchment at her excitedly. The twins weren’t as close as they used to be, but they were slowly mending the bridge that had burned down with their Uncle’s untimely death.
“Where do you keep going? What are you thinking about?” Sebastian asked her. His hand came out to smooth the crease in between her eyes, lingering for a moment before he pulled away.
“You.”
“Oh really?” he arched an eyebrow, a sly smile falling on his lips. “Is this where you finally admit I’m the most handsome student at Hogwarts?”
“I thought you had three years worth of self-imposed trophies to say just that.”
“Yes, but none of those mean anything without your agreement.” Something danced behind Sebastian’s eyes, a look Y/N couldn’t quite decipher. She was used to his charming nature and the confidence he seemed to exude, but every so often he said something and paired it with a look that was different. He looked…uncertain? Hopeful, maybe.
“I didn’t realise my opinions held so much weight for you.”
“And here I thought it was obvious that I hold you in the highest regard.” The air around them changed. Y/N couldn’t pinpoint it exactly - it wasn’t tense, but she felt a palpable shift in energy. She looked away from him and hoped he couldn’t see the blush that she felt rise to her cheeks as she walked into the Great Hall and made her way to the Slytherin table. She found Poppy seated with Imelda, heads bent together as they chatted quietly. They looked up as Sebastian and Y/N sat down, and a downright devilish grin was plastered on Imelda’s face.
“The rumours about what you can smell in Amortentia and refused to share in class are already circling.”
“Don’t start,” Y/N groaned as Sebastian filled her plate with food.
“The majority seem to think you can smell something that relates to Sebastian or Ominis,” Poppy added.
“Ominis?” Sebastian stopped filling Y/N’s glass with pumpkin juice, his tone incredulous. “That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.”
“How would you know?” Imelda shot at him. “Has Y/N told you what she could smell?”
“This whole conversation is ridiculous,” Y/N cut in, rolling her eyes. She grabbed the large bowl of mashed potatoes and spooned some onto Sebastian’s plate.
“It’s not that bad, Y/N,” Poppy gave her a reassuring smile. “I think it’s sweet. What you can actually smell, that is.” Y/N paused, the piece of chicken intended for Sebastian’s plate wobbling precariously on the serving spoon.
“How do you know what she can smell?” Sebastian looked up at her sharply, though there was no malice in his voice.
“Imelda told me.”
“Imelda,” Y/N hissed at the girl across the table from her at the same time Sebastian gave her a reproachful look.
“You told Imelda?”
“I didn’t tell her anything,” Y/N protested. She sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose in frustration. She could hear a few of her classmates around them mutter about her, all supplying options for what she could smell in the love potion. “I think I’m going to grab something from the kitchens instead,” Y/N stood and quickly made her way out of the hall before any of them could follow her. The moment Y/N was out of earshot Imelda leant across the table to hit Sebastian across the back of his head.
“Ow,” he rubbed his head and gave the raven-haired girl a disapproving glare, “what was that for?”
“You’re an absolute idiot, Sebastian Sallow.”
“Imelda…” Poppy nudged the girl gently before offering Sebastian a sympathetic smile. “What she means is - ”
“Oh, I have no doubt she meant it.” Later Sebastian would vehemently deny to anyone that he was pouting like a scolded child after being accosted by Imelda Reyes, but at that current moment all he could do was sulk as he pushed some peas around his plate.
“I did,” Imelda offered him a saccharine smile and shrugged unapologetically at Poppy, who looked disappointed at the pair. “If you don’t go after what you want, Sallow, others are going to take it from you.”
“Y/N isn’t some belonging that people can just have, least of all me. She’s a person with her own thoughts and feelings.”
“Who said I was talking about Y/N?” Sebastian’s head shot up to meet Imelda’s self-satisfied smirk and let out a low groan. “My point is,” she continued as he (rather dramatically, Imelda thought) lay his head down to rest on the table, “you’re in Slytherin. We’re ambitious to a fault, and when we know what we want we strive to achieve and obtain it. What’s stopping you from going after Y/N?”
“We’re just friends.” The lie Sebastian muttered on a daily basis felt thin to even his ears, and clearly neither Imelda or Poppy was impressed either.
“Why could you smell her in the Amortentia then?” Poppy asked.
“How did you know I - oh. I’m impressed, Sweeting. That was very Slytherin of you,” Sebastian laughed and shook his head in disbelief. “What would you both have me say then? Y/N I’ve been in love with you since fifth year when we fought a troll together in Hogsmeade?” he asked rhetorically. If his face wasn’t red with embarrassment before, it was now as the words slipped out of his mouth. “I don’t - I mean, I do? I think. I didn’t mean - ” His stammers were interrupted by Poppy’s quiet laugh.
“Oh Sebastian, you don’t need a pair of working eyes to know that you’re in love with Y/N Y/L/N. I think the only person oblivious to your feelings is Y/N herself.”
“What if she doesn’t feel the same? What if I ruin our friendship?” he asked quietly. The girls shared a look, and if Sebastian would have looked at either of them he would have noticed a silent conversation happening between the pair.
“Okay, look. I told Y/N I wasn’t going to tell you this, but you’re behaving like a lovesick second year and it’s making me sick,” Imelda flicked a pea at Sebastian in disdain. “Now, I can’t confirm it, but I strongly suspect that her Amortentia did smell of you.” Sebastian gave her a disbelieving look and sent the pea back across the table at her. “I agree that it lacks proof, but I do happen to know for a fact that she does have feelings for you. She told me herself.”
“She what?” That caught Sebastian’s attention, and that of a few people around them as well. Imelda shot them all a glare and they quickly turned back to their own conversations.
“If you tell her I told you I will hunt you down like the animal you are and use you as target practice for the beaters. I know where you sleep, Sallow.”
“She…” Sebastian was at a loss for words as he looked at Poppy for confirmation, who nodded uncertainly in agreement. “I need to go speak to her,” he muttered, more to himself than the girls in front of him. He continued to murmur quietly to himself as he hauled himself up and out of the Great Hall, his expression wavering between surprise and bliss as he left.
“When did Y/N tell you she liked Sebastian?” Poppy asked once he had left.
“Oh, she didn’t. But I think we can both agree neither of them was going to do anything without a nudge, don’t you? Could you pass the pumpkin juice?”
*
Y/N let out a quiet sigh as she snuck back into the Slytherin Common Room. It was nearing midnight, and although she wanted nothing more than to fall into her bed she trudged through the silent room instead to sit and wait for Sebastian by the fireplace. After leaving the Great Hall, Y/N had trekked her way up to the Room of Requirement to spend some time taking care of the various magical beasts in her vivarium. The animals couldn’t pester her like people did, asking her questions she didn’t want to answer, and worst, ones she didn’t have the answers to. She couldn’t understand why everyone was pushing their way into her business; why did it matter what (or who, she thought dryly) she could smell in the Amortentia? So what if she could smell Sebastian, and who was Imelda freaking Reyes to tell her she had feelings for her best friend.
Well, Y/N chewed on her lower lip as she stared into the dying embers, he was rather handsome. Something he would take great satisfaction in if she admitted it out loud. And she supposed, if she was really thinking about it, he was quite funny, and charming, and smart, and possibly the kindest person she knew, and - oh Merlin, she had feelings for Sebastian Sallow.
He was her best friend, and hadn’t her aunt always told her those made for the best life partners? Not someone who you just existed with, but someone who knew you, knew every part of you, and would still stand by you. Not that she was thinking about spending the rest of her life with him. Y/N felt a blush rise to her cheeks as an unwarranted image of her in a white dress and Sebastian looking absolutely striking in a suit came to mind.
“Penny for your thoughts?” A low voice startled her, and Y/N pressed a hand to her chest as she took note of Sebastian sitting in the armchair next to her. He bit his lip in amusement at her shock, but was smart enough to keep his comments to himself.
“How long have you been sitting there?”
“Long enough to watch you groan to yourself twice and turn the most enticing shade of pink,” he teased. “Where do you keep going today?”he asked, a hint of concern in his eyes.
“I’ve just had a lot on my mind.”
“Anything I can help with?” Sebastian offered. Yes, Y/N thought to herself, you can start by bathing in bubotuber pus.
“I’ll be fine, Sebastian. There’s no need to fret.”
“You battle trolls for fun, I think there is some need to fret.”
“You’ve battled more than one troll with me, too.”
“Ah, but there’s the obvious difference. You don’t worry for me the same way.”
“You can’t mean that,” Y/N sat upright in her chair, a withering glare on her features. “Of course I worry about you, you idiot.”
“Why is everyone calling me an idiot tonight?”
“Clearly it’s warranted,” Y/N sniffed in annoyance and sank back down into her seat. How dare he say she didn’t worry for him, all she’s done for the past two years was worry about him.
Sebastian could tell he had said the wrong thing. He knew - of course he knew - that she worried and cared for him. No one else would have witnessed and experienced everything they had together in their fifth year and still stood by him afterwards. It was never a question to Y/N whether he needed forgiving. Even Ominis, who had been with him since before he could remember, needed a while to come back around and speak to Sebastian again, but she didn’t. Granted, it had taken a couple of weeks as things had happened in quick succession, from the death of his uncle, to fighting Harlow, then Rookwood, to finally defeating Ranrok; but there Y/N was, sitting next to him at Professor Fig’s memorial, silent tears running down her face as she clutched his hand tightly for comfort.
“I apologise,” he reached out to take her hand. “It seems I’m not quite done putting my foot in my mouth whenever you’re around.”
“Yes, it seems so.” Her words were flat, but she squeezed his hand back gently to let him know all was forgiven. Sebastian had the overwhelming urge to take Y/N into his arms and never let go, but also reprimand her at the same time. She was always the first to call him out when he was being a prat - which, he admitted to himself, happened more often than not - but she always forgave him for it moments later.
He took a moment to watch as she stared into the flames once more. His eyes roamed over her features, from her brilliant eyes, down the slope of her nose and rested on her mouth. Y/N could give any Ravenclaw a run for their money with the amount of wit she fired, and even though Sebastian was often on the receiving end, he loved it. He loved the way she rolled her eyes at him when she shot a particularly sarcastic or dry comment his way; he loved when she teased him and made him question his sanity and oh, he adored it when she would shoot him a rare, flirtatious comment.
He loved her.
The thought took his breath from him. He had said it out loud in the Great Hall earlier, but it was unintentional, and he wasn’t quite sure of it then, but now…now he was sure. He was in love with her. Every part. He wanted to share every day, every night, every moment with her.
“You’re staring.”
“You’re beautiful,” he replied without thinking. He watched as a faint blush dusted Y/N’s cheeks and his heart stuttered in his chest. How could he ever doubt how he felt for her? “What did you smell in the Amortentia?” Sebastian asked, a sudden surge of confidence hitting him.
“Sebastian,” Y/N sighed heavily, “I don’t want to talk about it.” Y/N turned to look at him, a pleading look on her face. She was tired, so tired, at having to pretend she wasn’t irrevocably head over heels for the man next to her. She feared if he asked her any more questions he would see straight through her, and then their friendship would be ruined and he would want nothing more to do with her. No, the logical part of her brain replied, Sebastian is too nice for that. Instead he would let her down gently, with the soft tone one would reserve for an injured animal or a sick child.
“I could smell you,” he blurted out. Y/N blinked once, not quite sure she had heard him properly, before looking over at him slowly. “Your perfume, to be more specific. And the smell of rain, from the night we danced out in it. Also those strawberry tarts you love to eat at breakfast.” He stood from his seat before sinking to his feet so he could kneel in front of her on the stone floor. “All I could smell was you.”
“Sebastian…”
“What did you smell?” he asked her again, a hint of desperation in his eyes. She thought there was nothing more between them but friendship, that he could never look at her the way she wanted him t, but the look in his eyes right now…Merlin, how could she ever think that? Her heart pounded in her chest as she looked down at him and watched as his hands came to rest on her knees gently. She could feel the heat of his skin through the material of her trousers and all she could think of was more. She wanted more. “Darling? I’m putting my heart on the line here.”
“It was you,” she whispered after a moment, afraid to say it much louder. “You, when we danced in the rain. You, when you showed me the clearing full of wildflowers. Just…you. It was all you, Sebastian.” She met his gaze, her eyes shining with unshed tears. “It’s always been you, I just didn’t realise it until lately.”
“You’re supposed to be the smart one,” he teased lightly. He raised his hand to wipe away a stray tear, his thumb stroking her cheek gently. “Why are you crying?”
“I…” Y/N let out a sound that was between a sob and a chuckle and slid down so she was kneeling on the floor with Sebastian. “I think I was too scared to tell you before, so I pretended like it didn’t exist. These feelings have been bottled up for so long, only to be let out now…” she wiped away her own tears this time and offered him a rueful smile.
“Oh darling,” he murmured, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead, “it seems we’ve both been a little slow, hm? How could you not see I’m hopelessly head over heels for you?” He rested his forehead on hers, watching with slight satisfaction as her eyes fluttered closed in anticipation and longing. “You have been, and always will be, my one and only.”
“You’re going to make me cry again,” Y/N protested weakly. Sebastian chuckled quietly and brushed a stray hair from her eyes. He watched as the wheels turned in her head, and knew she was deep in thought when she started to chew on her lower lip thoughtfully.
“Come back to me, what are you thinking?”
“It’s highly improper.”
“My favourite,” he smiled crookedly and ran his thumb across her lower lip. “Tell me.” Instead,  after a brief moment of hesitation, Y/N closed the gap between them and pressed her lips to his gently. She pulled away all too soon for Sebastian’s liking, her eyes darting across his face for any reaction he disapproved of - or worst, didn’t enjoy - their chaste kiss. He pulled her back in slowly, giving her more than enough time to pull away should she choose to do so, and pressed his lips back to her sweetly.
From the other end of the Common Room, Imelda watched quietly as the couple kissed each other with stomach-churning sweetness, and as she turned to leave she made a mental note to boast to Poppy first thing in the morning that she was right yet again.

Ominis Gaunt x f!Reader
Word Count: 3.9k
Summary: Ominis Gaunt has never known affection. He has never known how it felt to love---to be loved. She came and changed all of it.
Or, Ominis gets love because by god does he deserve it.
Warnings: Mentions/Implications of child abuse
God, I loved writing this. Thank you so much for the request, anon!
When Ominis Gaunt fell in love, he fell slowly.
It was all the little things she did—the little things that made up who she was. Her kindness. Her patience. Her touch.
Before meeting her, touch meant nothing but pain. It was kicking and screaming as his mother dragged him along by his arm, harsh shoves from uncaring hands toppling to the ground, a cruel hand curled over his own, taking any control he might have and forcing a curse out of him.
He’d been avoiding it ever since. Even Sebastian and Anne knew his aversion, careful not to grab him or brush against him.
But somehow, she made his walls come tumbling down.
-
Perhaps he started to fall that first time she saved him a seat at breakfast.
It was one of the first breakfasts of their sixth year—the Great Hall was bustling, students running back and forth to catch up with friends and share adventures from over the summer. That was exactly what Sebastian was doing; he could hear his friend’s loud laugh as he spoke to someone at the Hufflepuff table. He’d expected her to be doing the same, her popularity as the Hero of Hogwarts was unmatched. Surely everyone would want to know what she’d been up to.
He’d just settled on the idea of grabbing an apple off the table and leaning against the wall well out of harm’s way when a voice called out to him. Her voice.
“Ominis! Ominis, right here, I’ve saved a seat for you!”
His mouth fell open—just slightly. “You… you saved a seat…?”
“Yes, now get over here before Sebastian barrels past and steals it, I wouldn’t put it past him,” she said, smile obvious in her voice.
And so he obliged.
He settled down on the bench, all thoughts of retreating to some far corner vanishing as she began to rattle on about her summer. In turn, he answered all her questions about his own time, best he could with the way his head was spinning. Of everyone in the school, she had saved a spot for him. She allowed him to take all her time, steal away every morsel of her attention. There was a lightness that came with that thought. A warm feeling he couldn’t quite name—not yet.
But now that he’d felt it, he knew he’d starve for it.
-
The next step into his descent was the first time she placed her hand on his arm.
Herbology was always a bit chaotic—not nearly as much as Potions, no thanks to a certain Gryffindor—but chaotic nonetheless. Professor Garlick had laid out all the necessary tools and supplies on each table, and after her brief explanation on how to prune and shape the plants in front of them, she set them loose.
Sebastian stood to Ominis’s right, grabbing some small cutters and starting on his plant quickly.
“Sebastian, you’re making a mess of it already. She said to start from the top and go down, didn’t you hear a word she just said?” a voice said from his left.
Ominis chuckled. “Since when has Sebastian ever been one to listen to anything?” He reached forward, grabbing his own cutters. He heard his friend grumble under his breath. “Don’t pout, you know I’m right.”
“Doesn’t mean I’m not offended by it,” Sebastian said.
“You’re offended by everything, Seb,” she said.
“What is this? Attack Sebastian Sallow Day?”
“No, but I’d be an avid celebrator if there was such a thing.”
As Sebastian continued mumbling complaints, he felt it—her hand, just barely resting on his arm. “Sorry,” she said softly, leaning forward and across the table. “I’m just grabbing the fertilizer.” And then her touch was gone.
It was nothing. Just a simple indication that she was there, making sure a blind man didn’t accidentally stab her with a sharp object. And yet it felt… different, somehow. His skin was tingling as he tried to resume his work with the plant. It was only later he realized that, unlike so many times others had made a similar motion, he hadn’t flinched or pulled away.
In spite of himself, he sort of wished she would do it again.
-
He came to a realization the first time she explained a Quidditch match to him.
The realization was thus—she was even more kind than anyone he’d ever met. It was her very first match, and she had been elated to attend after Professor Black had announced the continuation of the sport at the beginning of the year. Normally, Ominis wouldn’t care too much about it. He rarely went to matches in previous years, only being dragged along by Sebastian when Slytherin was up in the running to take the cup. Crowds weren’t his thing. And trying to understand anything that was going on based solely off the oohing and ahhing of a crowd gave him a headache. But this year, Sebastian was making his debut as Slytherin’s Keeper, and that paired with her excitement to see the match was enough to draw him out to the stands.
They sat next to each other, nestled into the crowd of Slytherins eagerly anticipating the game. He could only imagine how high up they were—there had been plenty of stairs to indicate it was nothing insignificant. The breeze that high up was cooler, and Ominis was grateful for it, allowing himself to focus on it instead of the people pressing in all around him.
But when the match started, his focus shifted entirely to the soft voice next to him.
In the past, he had always found the commentary on the match entirely unhelpful, and even more uninteresting. He could never get a picture of what was going on—the announcer would always press opinions on players and use the names of the different plays, which was ridiculous because Ominis had no clue what any of the plays meant.
She, on the other hand, explained it all wonderfully.
She wasn’t perfect—not even close, stumbling over words and gasping at times when an action surprised her. But for the first time, Ominis could follow. He found himself cheering, breath catching as he heard the whoosh of a broom overhead. The tone and expression in her voice was so lively, so dedicated, he wanted to take part in it.
“Weasley’s flying fast toward the goals,” she commented. “Blimey, he should be Seeker with that speed. Imelda’s flown into his path, he’s going to crash—No, he dodged her, straight over her head—he’s throwing the Quaffle, come on Seb—YES!”
He let out a cry of celebration as his friend beside him whooped and hollered, cheering loudly for Sebastian. It wasn’t long until they won the match, and the crowd of Slytherins roared like a raging sea. He followed her out of the stands and into the common room, where a party was already commencing. Sebastian managed to break away from his adoring fans. The Hero of Hogwarts leapt up and nearly pushed him over in a wild embrace. Sebastian laughed.
“You were wonderful out there!” she said, pulling away.
Ominis could hear the grin in his friend’s voice. “I couldn’t let your first match be a disappointment, now could I?” His feet shifted, turning to Ominis. “And really, Ominis, thank you for coming. I know Quidditch isn’t your favorite.”
“If I’m honest, I rather enjoyed myself,” he said. He nodded his head toward her beside him. “This one has a knack for explaining the game. She told me enough that I can sincerely say, well played.”
“Then seems like you’ll have to go to all of the matches together,” Sebastian said.
Ominis frowned. “Well, I wouldn’t want to impose on—”
“No, I like that idea,” she said. His heart beat a bit faster. “I want you to be able to enjoy it just as much as the rest of us, Ominis.”
He couldn’t stop smiling the rest of the night. When Sebastian asked about it, he blamed it on having too much Butterbeer.
-
When he let her lead him by his arm that very first time, he knew he trusted her.
He’d known for a while—but now, through his actions, he had admitted it to her. To himself.
Winter had set in. The two of them left the Three Broomsticks, bundled up and ready for the cold. He reached for his wand, pausing when he heard her speak up beside him.
“Your hand is going to freeze holding it out like that all the way to the castle. I can lead you, if you’d like.”
He pondered it for a moment—only a moment—and then he gave in.
“If you think it’ll keep me from getting frostbite.”
He sucked in a breath as her arm looped around his. How had she done it so gently? After a second, when he’d begun to breathe properly, he nodded. “Off we go, then.”
It was strange, how he had surrendered so easily. When he had first gotten his wand, the world finally felt livable. He no longer had to shuffle around, arms outstretched, waiting for his brothers to jump out at him. He could fend for himself. Prove his independence. There was no longer a need to rely on anyone.
Why did he rely so effortlessly on her?
The truth came to him with a sudden thought as she took him through the streets, navigating expertly through the throng of students returning to the castle. He trusted her. She had always looked out for him. Cared when he felt no one else did. She made efforts to be around him, to involve him, even when he tried to push away. Ominis Gaunt did not trust easily. But she had proved herself worthy of that sentiment in every turn.
The slight tug of her arm in his jolted him back to that moment. “We’re at the stairs,” she said quietly. “There’s six of them.”
He’d trust her with his life.
They seemed to walk closer and closer together as the castle drew nearer. It was the cold, he told himself. Just the instinctual craving for warmth drawing their sides together. Simple as that.
But they still walked arm in arm through the halls of Hogwarts, leaving the excuse of the chill and snow far behind them.
-
The first time she held his hand, he finally felt alive.
Their sixth years had come to a close and the Hogwarts Express was waiting to take them home. They’d spend the last few months in what he considered bliss. They stopped looking for excuses to take each other's arms at some point—just letting it happen. Strolls on the castle ground. Between classes. Anywhere and everywhere they went together. Sebastian teased them a bit at the action, but Ominis claimed it was just easier than using his wand. He didn’t have to concentrate on a spell while walking about. It was true—but really, it hadn’t been inconvenient the five years before that, had it?
But now his dear friend gave a low sigh beside him. “This crowd is awful,” she said, glowering at the students around them. “I don’t know how we’re going to make it on the train in time.”
“I’m sure we’ll be—”
He stopped mid sentence, feeling her fingers interlock with his.
“I think I see a path, come on now.”
She nearly tipped him over as she pulled him along. He managed to remember how to walk just in time to catch himself, allowing her to lead him through the hustle and bustle around them. How did this feel so entirely different than being led by her arm? How could he only focus on how soft the skin of her knuckles felt under his thumb? How could he feel like he was dreaming, but never felt more aware in the same moment?
They stopped in front of the train, doors open before them. She didn’t let go. Neither did he. But the train let out a whistle, and the sound brought him back in an instant. Their hands dropped, and the loss of the intimate feeling of her fingers between his knocked the air out him like the perfect Depulso.
“We made it,” she said softly.
“Barely.”
She laughed. He might as well have been a fish for how much he was struggling to breathe. “I’ll see you soon,” she said, voice softening.
“I wish I could say the same,” he said, smirking. He felt her hit his arm, stifling a laugh.
“You’re awful.”
“You’re the one who laughed.”
“Goodbye, Ominis,” she said, still chuckling. After a moment, she spoke again, a little quieter. “I’ll write you.”
His stomach flipped. “I’ll hold you to it.”
Then she was gone, taking part of him with her.
-
He knew he was in love the moment he got her first letter.
What was it some fool had once said? Absence makes the heart grow fonder? What a load of dung.
Absence made the heart ache so much it nearly killed him. And it had only been a day.
He knew it was from her the moment the lingering scent of her perfume hit him. He smiled. She kept her word—he had never doubted she would. He was just relieved she had done so so soon.
Quickly, he pulled out his wand and transfigured the words on the parchment, running his fingers over them. He paused where she had written his name. Every letter filled him with warmth as he poured over the short letter.
Dear Ominis,
I realize we only saw each other yesterday, but I wanted to assure you it wasn’t an empty promise when I said I would write you.
I really don’t have too much to share—my mother was more than pleased to see me, of course. Wailed when I came home as if I’d come back from the dead. She’s still not used to me being away for so long. I’ve just begun unpacking, and honestly, it just makes me wish I was back at Hogwarts with you and Sebastian.
How are you? I do hope you’re alright. I worry about you going home, you know. I can’t help it. I’ll be inviting both you and Sebastian to my home as soon as I’m settled in—please do survive until then.
Yours,
He closed his eyes as he felt her name beneath his fingertips. She was worried about him. She’d be inviting him. The warmth and elation he felt was so unlike the cold halls that surrounded him. He could survive—he’d do it for her.
How she could make him feel happiness—hope—in a house so tainted with pain was beyond him. He never would he have thought he could have a moment of something good there, a memory worth keeping after he abandoned the place.
Finally, he had a name for that warmth, the one that overtook him every time she crossed his thoughts. Love. Deep, profound, and lasting. It was more than he could have imagined, overwhelming and pure. How could he have lived to this point without it?
He read the letter once more before pulling out his quill and beginning to write.
-
The first time he thought she might feel the same coincided with the first time she laid her head on his shoulder.
She had kept yet another of her promises. It was only a couple of weeks before he was off to her house, finally free from the suffocating marble halls of the manor. His escape lasted only for ten days, but it gave him what he needed to keep going.
Though being with her was definitely what fueled him the most.
Laughing with her and Sebastian made the stress of being around his parents melt off of him much faster than he would have imagined. Their ten days had been full of exploring the woods around her house, of playing Gobstones, of laying in fields and telling old stories.
Ten days of her hand brushing his as they sat together. Ten days of catching his breath when she spoke. Ten days of falling harder than he ever thought possible.
Because now that he knew what it was he was feeling, it was there in everything she did. He was drowning in it, and he’d stay under with a smile on his face.
Sebastian bid them farewell on that final evening. Ominis would be gone back home in the morning—he tried desperately to push that thought away, focusing instead on spending every moment with her he could. They’d wandered to the overgrown park not far from her home, coming to rest on a bench hidden away in the trees. Crickets sang around them, and Ominis basked in the cool summer night by her side.
“Are you going to be ok when you go back?” Her voice was hardly more than a whisper.
He gave a small smile, one he hoped was reassuring. “I’ve lived this long. Two more months will be nothing.”
She sighed. “It won’t be a full two months. I’ll make sure of it. If you can’t come here again, we’ll go to Sebastian’s.”
“You worry about me too much.”
“I think I worry just enough,” she stated simply.
Her words made his chest time. How could he ever begin to explain what they meant to him? She cared for him. It was enough to shatter him if he let it. He couldn’t say what he wanted to—not yet. He’d find a way, someday. But he told her what he could by reaching for her hand, locking their fingers together. And when she leaned into his side, head coming to rest on his shoulder, maybe, maybe, that was her way of saying she understood.
His stiff body slowly relaxed against hers, and he thought about nothing but the slow draws of her breath, the way her hair tickled against his jaw, the love he felt for the angel of the girl sitting pressed against him.
-
The first time she held him he fell apart.
Their little trio had stayed up late in celebration of their last school year, playing Exploding Snap well into the night. The Undercroft echoed their joyous sounds as the hours passed by, until Sebastian pulled himself away, saying he wanted to pay a visit to the Restricted Section for old time’s sake. It wasn’t long until she and Ominis were saying their goodnights to each other.
It had been a perfect last first day, exactly what he’d needed after spending so much time at the manor. He’d left for what he was determined to be the last time. There was no better way to celebrate.
He could think of no better way of ending it than saying goodnight to the girl he loved.
“Goodnight,” he said softly, a small smile on his lips.
“God, I missed you,” she breathed. “Goodnight, Ominis.”
But before he could open the door, her arms wrapped around his chest.
The result was immediate. His heart raced, and his throat grew tight. He couldn’t breath—how could he, with her holding him so tightly? Her head was against his chest, and for a split second he was afraid she might pull away when she heard the pound of it. It was that moment of fear that brought his arms around her, holding her to him like he had nothing left.
It felt like dying when she pulled away from him. She sucked in a breath. “Ominis, are you alright?”
“What… what do you—”
“You’re crying.”
She was right. He felt the tears, now, traitorously running down his face. He quickly brought up the sleeve of his robe to wipe them away.
“Is it something I did? I’m so sorry, I didn’t—”
“No,” he said quickly. “No, you’ve done nothing wrong.” He took a shuddering breath. “I just… You’re the first person who’s ever…”
Ever what? There were a million ways he could finish that sentence, and all would be true. The first who had ever held me. The first who has ever cared so deeply. The first to touch him with nothing but kindness. She was the first person to break down his walls, to give him life, to let him love and be loved.
Somehow, she seemed to understand his silence. She took him into her arms once more, and he let himself come crashing down. Sobs worked their way through—both sadness and joy mingled together in an utter mess of emotion. How could he have gone his whole life without this? Without feeling safe, without outstretched arms to run to? But he had found it. A person he could call his home, who would hold him when he fell apart. He was grateful. So grateful.
They never went back up to their dorms that night.
-
He was determined today would be the first time he kissed her.
Since that night in the Undercroft, every touch between them felt natural. Part of their beings. He came to her effortlessly, letting his arms pull her to him. His hand felt foreign when it wasn’t in hers. But yet, he had yet to confess the depths of his feelings for her.
He knew exactly why—she was patient. They’d started this whole thing nearly two years ago now. She’d always gone at his pace, waiting for him to be ready for each new step. They didn’t need to say the words. It was obvious to both of them. But Merlin, he wanted to.
She needed to know just how much she meant to him. The joy she brought into his life without even trying. It had been a long time coming, but now, he was ready.
He’d taken her out to Hogsmeade. It was the perfect spring day—cool breeze carrying the scent of Butterbeer clear out of the Three Broomsticks. The sun was just beginning to set, and they were on course to return to the castle when he stopped her.
“Could I take you somewhere?” he said softly.
“Of course,” she said, a little perplexed. He smiled, taking out his wand to guide the both of them, other hand still in hers. He led them down a path, then turned sharply into the woods. The trail he followed was light barely there, mostly grown over by foliage. But he heard the sound of the creek and knew he was close.
The trees gave way into a small opening, the melody of water trickling just beyond it. He smiled.
“It’s lovely,” she said.
“Good. I hoped it would be.” His wand returned to his pocket, and he took both her hands, facing her.
It was her turn for her breath to catch. It was only fair after all the times he’d done so because of her. Did he look as lovesick as he felt?
“You are everything to me, do you know that?” he said softly. His hand reached up, following the curve of her neck up to her jaw, where it came to rest. “Everything.”
“Ominis…”
The way she breathed his name sent shivers through him. And her breath on his lips—Merlin, how had he waited so long?
“I love you.”
He didn’t give her a chance to respond—he’d let her say it soon enough. But he needed to prove himself to her, show her just what he meant when he said everything. His lips came crashing down against hers, and at that moment he decided every second not spent kissing her was a second wasted. Like everything about her, she was gentle. She was warm. She was soft. Like everything about her, he couldn’t get enough. He thought he’d give her a chaste kiss, but he was only a man, and a starving one at that.
He only pulled away when his lungs felt like they would burst, and his chest heaved under her resting hand.
“I love you,” she said, voice hoarse. “God, I love you.”
He decided that night would be the second time he kissed her, too.
After that he lost count.

Context: Following the events that took place during the 5th year, you became more popular without really wanting it. A few people have started to take a closer interest in you. But you still only have eyes for one person since you arrived. However, a boy has started flirting with you and talking to you more and more often. His name is Spencer Rooks. Spencer is the captain of the Hufflepuff quidditch team, also in 7th year. His soft blue eyes, freckles and blond messy hair could make anyone feel flustered around him. But he only has his eyes on you and the person you like took notice of that. Today, Spencer passed you a note to meet him after class. You chose to accept his offer and listen what he had to say to you. Someone seems to not be too pleased by that... (pre-relashionship)

THEIR REACTION:
Sebastian:
Oh he's pissed. You're his! Well...not yet but you are his! He tolerated Spencer's flirting for way too long. He has to intervene.
"Spencer, leave her alone. Can't you see Y/N is not interested?"
All means are good if it makes him leave you alone. But if Spencer insists too much to talk to you, Sebastian will definitely raise his wand at him. He's not scared to be in detention again.
"Let's leave Y/N. He's not worth you time at all." He takes your hand and leads you somewhere else.
"What a prick! Touching you like that and flirting with you. Trust me, he's not good enough for you."
You ask him if he's jealous and you see him frown.
"I am not jealous, I would just prefer if he didn't exist near you! I-I mean...I know you can take care of yourself but- I just don't like others around you that can't respect you."
He'll cross his arms and will stare into your eyes.
"Next time, tell him you're mine. Tell him you're my girlfriend. And if he tries anything, I won't need my wand to hurt him. Besides, I bet he only likes you because you're Hogwarts hero or something like that...NO! I'm not jealous! I just think you deserve better!"
He will make sure that everyone knows you're his, even if you're not yet in a relationship with him.
He WILL be more affectionate and touchy in public.
He's very possessive and will remind you that you both were best friends before you saved Hogwarts and the wizzarding world in general.
"I liked and still like you for you, don't fall for guys like Spencer who only notice you for what you did. He's an opportunist! And you deserve someone who can see how wonderful you are."
Ominis:
Now he is more discreet about his feelings for you and how he handles jealousy. But when Spencer asked you to meet him after class, Ominis couldn't let that happen. He realises he was too slow to be the first to ask you out and he had to do something...quickly.
"Y/N, is that true that you planned to meet Spencer after class? Well...I advice you to reconsider. He does not seem like a very proper gentleman."
You ask him if he's jealous. You see his cheeks redden.
"Jealous? Why should I be jealous Y/N? You obviously are too good for him. And he does not seem like the type of individual you would be into...isn't he?"
He is worried you are into another boy but he tries to keep his composure.
"I heard a few people gossiping about him. Apparently, he has a new girlfriend every month. You deserve to feel special Y/N."
This might be the first time he pays attention to meaningless gossips. But he just has to convince you not to give Spencer a chance.
"Besides, I might need your help after class to prepare myself for our next potion exam. My concoctions are still utter rubbish and you seem to be the only one who actually make me improve my skills."
Any reason is a good reason if it makes you stay away from the Hufflepuff.
He will sit next to you in every class to make everyone understand you are with him, even if you're not his girlfriend yet...
He will frown everytime he hears you talking to another guy. And if Spencer dares to speak to you, he will drag you away and find an excuse to justify it.
"I hope he was not bothering you. I can make the Headmater expel him if he tries anything inappropriate. Just tell me if anything happens."
He didn't mind boys talking to you but when Spencer got a little to close to you for his liking, he became a bit more protective of you. He doesn't want to let that happen again.
Garreth:
He is not usually the jealous type because he knows you're not interested by the other boys/girls who are flirting with you on a daily basis. But Spencer seemed to have your attention for some reason... And when Garreth is jealous, he is not very classy about it.
"What is going on with Spencer and you? I heard you two whispering during class. Since when the both of you are that close?"
You explain to him you planned to meet up with Spencer after class because he had something to tell you. You hear the red-haired boy scoff.
"I bet he'll confess to you...that idiot. Hum...please tell me you don't reciprocate his feelings?"
He'll try to invite you somewhere else so you don't join Spencer after class. He thinks he is being sneaky about it.
"Please I can't find those ingredients without you, it's very urgent matters! Screw Spencer! Besides, you'd rather spend time with me than him...right?"
You're making the poor boy anxious. He is scared you might find Spencer better than him.
"I can also play quidditch you know? And I bet Spencer is not a talented potionist like I am! I'm just saying..."
You ask him if he's maybe...jealous? He left you no time to finish your last word that he quickly retorts.
"Me? Jealous? Please Y/N, you can't be serious. Why would I be jealous? We're...friends... and he is just some guy. I simply don't want you to shift your attention on him and forget about me, alright?"
You try to reassure him with some light-hearted teasing that he was your favorite flirt and that you couldn't possibly forget about him, even if you tried.
"Well...now I know. Could you maybe repeat the part where you said you could never forget me?"
Amit:
He is really not the jealous type because he understands why and how popular you became. But when he is jealous, he does not dare to talk about it to not seem possessive or selfish. But the way Spencer acts around you doesn't sit right with him...
"Y/N? I hope you don't mind if I bring up a rather...private subject. It's about you and Spencer. I noticed you two during class... Are you perhaps- please stop me if you do not feel comfortable sharing- b-but are you two...together?"
You ask him if he's just curious or maybe... jealous? You see him stiffen at your question.
"J-Jealous? I'm really not! I swear! I just think he might not be the right fit for you... You deserve someone who sees you for who you really are; the shiniest star in the sky. Nothing less..."
You reassure him by certifying that you were not in a relationship with Spencer. You then explain he just asked you to meet you up after class to tell you something. You see Amit slightly frown.
"I...I don't think you should meet with him."
He then instantly apologizes. His facial expression is a mix between confusion and fear. He's torn between telling you not to go or let you do what you want...
Out of the blue, he gently grabs your hand.
"What if I said I also... wanted to see you? Who would you choose?"
You can't help but let out a small chuckle. Of course you would choose Amit over him...over anyone actually. But he is so cute when he is jealous. But you finally give in to his request.
"R-really? You'd rather be with me? Then let's go to Honeydukes after class! I could also let you try the new lense of my telescope!"
Seeing him compete for you attention definitely made you feel really hot... He is so adorable.
Poppy:
She is way too obvious when she is jealous. She just can't hide it. This Spencer boy is seriously getting on her nerves...Why can't he just leave you alone? She's the only one who has the right to be glued to Y/N!
"Hum...Y/N...Are you and Spencer a thing? Because he seems really interested and you don't seem to mind it. I-I'm just curious, that's all! You know you can tell me anything."
She looks nervous and you can see it. She is twisting a strand of her hair between her fingers.
You tell her that Spencer actually asked you to meet him after class. Seeing the look on Poppy's face, you might have actually thought she saw a ghost. She was petrified.
"M-Meet him after class? Does he like you? Do you think he'll confess? Oh Merlin... Do you like this guy?"
She bombards you with questions. You're trying your best to reassure her but she doesn't seem to focus on what you're saying. You then take her hands into yours to calm her down.
"I-I'm sorry. But, as your friend... of course... I am just worried this guy is just not any good for you at all. He doesn't seem like the type to treat you right or anything. And you're worth so much better!"
"And who do I deserve then Poppy?" You asked with a playful giggle. You like to see her all flustered. It was so cute.
"W-Well...maybe someone who like you before all the stuff that happened during 5th year...A-Anyway! It's not about that, we are talking about Spencer here!"
She pouts at your light teasing. She is so terribly obvious about how she feels.
You have to reassure her and tell her that you don't feel anything for the Hufflepuff boy. She lets out a big sigh of relief.
"Good...So...does that mean you're free after class? Wanna do something with me?"
Natty:
Now Natty is very mature and can handle her jealousy very well...that's what she thought until Spencer grew a little too close to you. She usually doesn't mind your multiple admirers but this time it felt different. She has to do something...
"Y/N, I was wondering... Spencer seems quite persistent. Maybe you need help to tell him off?"
You explain to Natty he actually became a good friend and that he wanted to talk to you after class. She keeps a neutral face, not wanting her emotions to get the best of her.
"That is good to hear. I wonder what he has to say to you."
Natty knew exactly what Spencer wanted to talk to you about. But she felt selfish... She was biting her tongue to not say anything more.
"I hope he is not in love with you Y/N. I heard he was quite a flirtatious guys and that he treated his ex-girlfriends very poorly... Yes those are gossips but sometimes they are right! Well...maybe he is just pretending to be nice to you for now, you know how boys are."
She would let you meet Spencer after school but she would overthink about what your response to his confession would be.
"So? What did he say? Tell me everything!" She was trying to keep a smile on her face but she was really really anxious.
As you explained to her, you see her gently relaxing her shoulders. You don't share the same feelings as Spencer, to her delight.
"That's good. He was not right for you anyway." You then dare to ask her why she was so happy you didn't reciprocated his feelings. She was taken aback.
"P-please don't think I was jealous. I just know you well enough to assume he was not your type at all. You deserve someone who will treat you like a princess."
She has never been more relieved you rejected someone. She will keep a close eye on you the next time someone talks to you. She can't let that happen again.
Imelda:
When she is jealous, she usually just bullies you. She hates to see you with other people no matter who they are. So, you can be certain that she cannot stand Spencer being all flirty and chatty with you.
"He just can't leave you alone, can he? Always trying to get your attention. It's so pathetic. Don't give him the time of the day, he's a twat."
You tell her that Spencer asked you to meet him after class. You see her almost explode of rage in front of your very eyes.
"What the f*ck? Who does he think he is? I mean, please let him embarrass himself, I know he doesn't stand a chance...right? Don't tell me you like him? Oh good...not that I care or anything, you do you."
You ask her if she's jealous. She lets out the meanest laugh you've ever heard. Ouch...
"Me? Jealous of him? I can prove it to you that I am, in fact, better than him. I'm also a MUCH better quidditch player. Just saying... Don't look at me like that! I'm not jealous! Just stop hanging out with him, that's all!"
She might sound agressive but she really just needs to be reassured.
"And you promised me to be there at every one of my quidditch practices. And if he doesn't like it, I'm not afraid to punch him in the throat and break his precious broom."
You notice how agitated she is by the fact that Spencer might like you. You say nothing to preserve peace but...how cute it was that she wanted to fight someone for you.
"Forget about him. You deserve a much better contenders for your love. You also deserves someone that is as good as me on a broom. Spencer is way too slow. Why are you smiling at me like that? What did I say?"
She'll make sure you only look at her during practice and during other classes. She'll make sure to remind you that she is the best person to hang out with you.
Leander:
Now he will go about it the hard way to keep people who are interested in you away. He usually straight up lies and tells everyone you are actually his girlfriend so nobody will flirt with you. But Spencer just directly asked you...not fair. He has to do something about it... and now.
"What? He asked you to meet him after class? Well...just don't go? Or tell him you have a boyfriend? Oh come on, it's just a little white lie."
He tries to convince you not to go. But you still want to hear what Spencer has to say.
"Okay but only if I go with you. I can't leave you alone with that creep. Do we have a deal?"
When you wait for Spencer after class, Leander was waiting with you. Leander just couldn't hold back the urge to mark his territory and show that you were his...not officially but in his mind your were his.
"So, please tell us what you wanted to say. Don't be shy."
Leander is touching VERY inappropriately while Spencer tries to speak. He runs his hands down your back, around your shoulders and…on your hips.
You want to stop it but you can't. You...like it. It makes you feel all nervous and you feel your cheeks redden.
At the end, the poor Spencer just gave up and excused himself from the conversation.
"I think he got the message. You're not interested by him and you'll never be. I was helpful, see? "
You scold him gently, telling him how innapropriate that was. He just smirks and chuckles at you. He's so childish...
"Oh don't pretend you didn't like it Y/N. Maybe I should do it more often, that seems to keep the others away."
You stroked his ego unintentionally.
But...what if...nobody stopped you from going?
Spencer:
He waits for you after class. He looks so nonchalent, you almost refuse to think he might confess to you.
"You came! What a relief. I just wanted to tell you that...I know that we've not been friends for long but...hum...I like you. I almost lost my last quidditch match because you were the only thing on my mind."
You were just speechless. Your face was burning up and your cheeks were red. He took notice of that.
"Sorry, I just blurted it out but I'm really serious. I like you Y/N. And if you just let me one chance to prove that I'm worthy of your affection, you won't regret it! Does it sound too corny? I just really like you sorry, I'm letting my heart speak for me right now."
The Hufflepuff's face was also red. He looks so sincere. His blue eyes staring right into yours.
"Do you need time to think about it? I can give you some space. I just... I would give you the world if you ask me to. You're just...so wonderful. But I'll give you the time you want to think about it! Or maybe we could go on a date? Just to make sure I'm your type."
He lets out tiny nervous chuckles as he speaks. He is a blushing mess and he is trying his hardest to speak clearly and not be overwhelmed by his emtions.
Will you give him a chance?

They find excuses to hold your hand (ง ˃ ³ ˂)ว ⁼³₌₃⁼³
Tumblr media
Sebastian:
“You’re shivering — I’m just trying to help.”
“I’m just measuring our hands — I didn’t realise yours were so small?”
“Come with me — and I’m not taking no for an answer.”
“Just hold my hand, god dammit.”
“Actually wait...no come this way.”
“What do you mean, just wanting to hold your hand? No — I just...this is the easiest way to get you to follow...quickly.”
“Hey, come here — I want to test something...wah! I can’t believe you’re so ticklish...cute.”
“You brushed my hand — I’m just taking the initiative...”
“Ominis said my hands feel too rough today...could you check for me?”
“HOLD MY HAND...please.”
Ominis:
“Could you hold my hand?”
“May I check something...your hand, please?”
“I’ve heard people’s palms are quite sensitive — can I test that theory?”
“Come quick — Sebastian’s about to dare a third-year into jumping into the Black Lake.”
“I swear...well — I suppose we’re here now? Care for a walk?”
“Are your hands soft?”
“You’ve ‘accidentally’ brushed my hand, three times now...do you wish to hold my hand?”
“I...uh, lost my wand? Care to help me to class?”
“Let’s see who has the bigger hand...hm — so tiny.”
“I’d like to hold your hand...please.”
Garreth:
“I have something to show you — just let me...wah! Your hands are cold...lucky I run hot.”
“Gimme your hand — could you hold this, please.” *Gives his own hand, with a playful smile*
“Let me read your palm — I’ve gotten really good at it! Promise!”
“Come with me — I have an itching for trouble.”
“Allow me the honour — of holding your hand”
“Let’s have a thumb wrestle? Come on, I’ll be gentle.”
“Run! Don’t ask questions! Just gimme your hand!”
“It’s better if we hold hands while running...so I don’t lose you of course.”
“Shall we go together — here, it’s cold...let me warm your hands up.”
“Honestly, I just really want to hold your hand.”

Sebastian's version
Tumblr media
He wishes love were easy.
But nothing had ever been easy in Ominis Gaunt's life.
When he opened his heart to her, he opened something deep. A Pandora box of sorrow and grief and everything he'd buried so deep he'd forgotten about it.
Unfortunately, his body never forgets. It shows when she takes his hand. It unleashes when she brushes his hair. That gnawing, scorching flame burning where her touch remains.
She asks him how he's doing, he doesn't answer, words trapped behind his teeth like in a prison of jelly and guilt. He thinks she doesn't really want to be bothered by his problems.
She takes his hand while walking, he moves it away, clutching it to his chest in an attempt to build back that armor she threatens to break every time.
"Ominis," she speaks quietly in the night, when he keeps her always at an arm's distance. "Please, come here."
He wants to cry.
"I don't know how."
The smell of her hair lingers on the pillow when she leaves, and he quietly brings it to him, burying his face in the softness of her girly perfume. Even then, he feels too much freedom; taking up a space that isn't his own. He turns his back to it.
She seems tired today.
"Ominis." Her voice is weary, sad. She's near the fireplace, brooding. He feels like he's done something wrong.
"What is it?"
He balks before approaching her, his voice coming out in a sycophantic squeak that makes his blood run cold. He is afraid: afraid she'll find him some day. That she'll offer her hand and he'll take it with no qualms, allowing her to pull him up, away from those doubts cramming his mind when she gets too close.
"Why do you never let me in?"
He's drowning.
Why? Why? The answer is immediate, pulled right from his brain by that tight awareness that has always been more of a curse than a blessing. Because Ominis Gaunt feels that he is phrogging in other people's existence until they get tired and throw him into the nearest garbage. Because he has never found a place where he could sit down, wind his legs and feel at peace. Because if one day someone finds him with his defenses down, when he hits the bottom of the bin headfirst, he will never forgive himself.
"I don't know how." His inveterate answer comes, drawing a sigh from her. She always drops the subject after, and he feels safe.
This time, she breaches the armor again, and he has got no time to glue it back.
"Come here."
His hands tremble when he follows, sitting down next to her. She opens her palm to him and he feels it on his leg.
"Take it."
Her fingers feel soft to the touch, slipping between his as if filling up a space in his heart he had missed, pushing back his doubts and making a home for itself. He holds her hand and runs his thumb on her knuckles.
"What does this mean?" He asks feebly.
"That you can do much more."
He feels the corner of his lips push down in a grimace. "I don't know h—"
"I'll show you."
Her movements are languid and elegant like a snake, and he feels like she might strangle him and cut his breath and leave him for dead. But he wants to keep holding her hand.
"What do I do?"
"Come here."
This time, he listens.
She lets him move first, wrap his arms around her, as if testing her shape. He runs his hands over her delicate ribs, then down to the soft curve of her waist, then around her; feels the weight in his arms, like she could crush him at any moment. But she doesn't.
She lets him pull her on him, giving him her body. His hands are shaking and he feels inadequate to hold her; to keep her safe and not let her fall.
"Just do what feels right," she whispers.
None of this feels right. But it feels comfortable, and it feels different, and it feels like his heart is slowing down and his weight is meeting the ground and pushing against it like he will never need to get up anymore.
And there are her lips. He feels them with his fingertips; the curve at the top, the soft flesh, the sticky texture of her lipstick. He brings his trembling mouth to hers for the first time and pulls away just as quickly.
"I'm sorry…" he almost cries again.
"Do it again."
He swallows and pushes his lips against hers. He doesn't have the courage to move and breathes against her mouth.
She giggles and his heart breaks, because of course he was doing it wrong. "I'm sorr—"
Her mouth moves against his, takes his bottom lip in a quick suckle and then frees it again. He holds his breath until he can't stay still anymore.
"How does that feel?" she asks.
Something inside him cracks open at her taste, pushes and pulls and crushes him, and he holds on to her. It's all too much and it's all not enough. He licks his lips and tastes her lipstick and he wishes he could see her.
When she cups his cheek, he flinches.
"This feels…"
Horrible. Good. Terrifying. Perfect. Different.
"We can go slow," she says, and it's more than he could ask for. "But I'm here, and I'm yours."
He nods and attempts to find her, and he presses his forehead against her collarbone. She's warm there.
"Thank you," He's crying against her skin, and she skims her hand against his back.
He feels naked, a brush of cold hair against his chest where his defenses have cracked. She's pulling his armor down with a gentle touch, and he lets her until he hears it hit the ground loudly.
"You can relax now." He thinks he hears her say. Perhaps it was a dream. And when he hesitantly brushes his lips against her skin, he allows her in.

Turning away from the homework sheet at the sound of knocking, you glanced at your dormmate's empty bed and hummed. You stood up and felt a grin spread across your face as you approached the door. For one of the top students at school, they sure were forgetful. You swung the door open and opened your mouth to greet Riley, but instead found yourself staring at Josie Saltzman.
"I-I hope it's not a bad time. I know Riley just left but if you're busy, I can come back another time." A smile replaced the grin and you chuckled at the flushing brunette, turning sideways and nodding toward the inside of your room. She perked up, cheeks still lit ablaze despite weeks having passed since the 'agreement' had been made, and she entered your dorm before her beloved twin could spot her.
"You usually don't visit this early in the day, Jo." You pointed out and took a seat on the bed, tilting your head curiously at her fidgety movements. "Did you need something?"
"I... I wanted to talk about us. About what's going on between... us." Josie spoke shyly, her fingers toying with the hem of her skirt and eyes flickering in every direction but yours. Your brows furrowed. "I know we agreed on keeping things casual, but... I feel like after all this time... maybe it'd be good to give us a proper chance. I- I think we'd be good together."
"I mean, Jo... there's a reason I wanted to keep things casual. It's just... ever since me and Hope broke up... I haven't really had much luck with the whole... dating thing. There's a lot of unresolved shit between us and you know how Hope can be. She'll say she's fine with it when she actually won't be and it'll become this whole thing... and I don't want to be the reason you two have a falling out again." You explained, wincing at the dejected look that passed over her face. Josie pressed her lips together and weakly nodded.
"So, that's a no?"
"For now. If you're willing to wait, it could become a maybe or even a yes."

Kinktober day 13/14: Monsterfucking + blood - Childe/Foul Legacy Transformation x reader
Warnings/tags: Monsterfucking, his dick is like 14 inches, fem!reader. Once Childe transforms, Foul Legacy gets it/its pronouns. Blood is mentioned, unrealistic sex, Foul Legacy is kind of horror movieified. Slight dub con. It sticks its tongue down your throat. You bleed from multiple things. Mentions of breeding too.
Reader really wants Childe to fuck her in his Foul Legacy transformation.
The first time you asked Childe to fuck you in his foul legacy form, he said no.
Immediately shut you down. Outright refused. Wouldn’t even let you start up with a word of argument- he was so violently opposed to the idea- convinced there was no way you could take that version of him, in any way.
But you were, if anything, stubborn. You were sure you could handle it! You knew you could! And you showed Childe that every opportunity you got- stretching yourself wider and wider till you could nearly take your whole hand. A proud grin on your face as you straddled him- giving him the perfect view to see exactly how much you could take.
You were just so determined to prove to Childe that you could handle it- and no matter how many times he told you “No. It would destroy you.” you persisted. Eventually wearing down his walls enough to just get him to have an open conversation about the topic.
You were curled up against Childe’s side, looking up at him as he stuttered in exasperation and desperately tried to explain to you just how bad of an idea this was. “It’ll break you- it'll rip you apart!”
“No. It won’t. I showed you I could take it, so you gotta at least come up with a new excuse.” You responded, huffing.
“It’s still a bad idea! Being exposed to that much abyssal energy is dangerous! It’s no-“ You cut him off, a bit of pride rising in your chest as you revel in having anticipated this argument beforehand. “I talked to Dottore. He said it’s fine.”
Childe frowns, choosing to set the whole bringing-a-mad-man-into-your-sexlife thing aside for later, and instead focusing on the current subject. “I don’t believe him, he’s not exactly trustworthy.”
“He’s competent.”
“He’s a psychopath.”
“But a competent one.”
Childe sighs, angling your head and looking into your eyes as he speaks in a more serious tone. “You don’t understand. When I’m like that- Foul Legacy isn’t me. I’m not able to control myself- it’s all instincts, there’s no self control, there’s no thinking, only doing. It’s-it’s like I’m an animal. And I don’t want you to see me like that and be… scared of me.”
You, very calmly and methodically, explain to him: That. Is. Exactly. What. You. Want.
After that night, it still takes another week's worth of convincing before you get him to agree, and then another week of prep before the big day. And when it finally comes, you can’t help but feel a twinge of regret over not listening to Childe’s warnings. Because oh holy shit. That’s a lot bigger than you had been expecting-
You had seen Foul Legacy before, of course, but only from far away. Up close was a whole new thing. It was 10 feet. Easily. Childe Foul Legacy absolutely towered over you, you couldn’t hide how you trembled and practically cowered underneath its watch. Dressed intricately in an array of dark purples and reds, purple sparks crackled and fizzled in the air surrounding it. The only hint of Childe remaining was the messy nest of ginger hair that stuck out from behind Foul Legacy’s mask (face? You couldn’t tell).
You understood what Childe meant. This wasn’t him, this was Foul Legacy.
“Is this what you wanted?”
You flinch as you hear Foul Legacy speak, forcing your head into a shaky nod. Its voice is deep, scratchy, and barely recognizable as Childe’s. Despite the words clearly ringing through the room, there’s no movement from its mask.
“Good.”
You could’ve sworn Foul Legacy teleported to infront of you. One moment it was across the room, the next, its black claws found your hips, effortlessly lifting you up and tossing you onto the mattress.
You landed with a soft “thump”, getting no to time to catch your breath before Foul Legacy’s hands are already back on you. Its claws dig into your hips- tiny rivulets of blood flowing from where the razor sharp points pierces your skin- and it lifts.
A startled yelp comes out of your throat as your lower body is lifted up and Foul Legacy moves its head between your legs. You hardly get a chance to scream in horror as its mouth opens- a long, thick, dark purple tongue that immediately dragged roughly over your clit.
You gasped, hands flying to cover your mouth as Foul Legacy ground its tongue against your clit. You rut your hips upwards, whimpering at the way its claws dug deeper into the fat of your hips in warning.
“Childe- Childe please!” You babbled, crying and grabbing at the sheets as you were forced to take the near painful grind of Foul Legacy’s tongue against your clit. It was too much, but it wasn’t enough, and the more Foul Legacy went on, the harder you sobbed, eventually, a painful orgasm crashing into you like a freight train.
Foul Legacy’s tongue continued to rub against you- working you through your orgasm till you were once again squirming in overstimulation.
You didn’t get any time to recover before you were once again dropped down onto the mattress- hazily worrying about the blood ruining the sheets before you froze.
There was no way. There was no way that was going to fit inside of you. It was at least 14 inches, for Christ's sake. And why the hell was it thicker than your upper arm?
You hastily pushed yourself up, opening your mouth to call out Childe’s name- only to have your ankles grabbed and shoved up past your head- your body now completely bent in half.
You cried out and squeezed your eyes shut, shaking as you felt that same long tongue flicker across were Foul Legacy’s bloody claws were holding your ankles- shivering as you felt it lick the blood up- eventually moving to the punctures on your hips and lapping up the blood that ran down your skin.
By the time you cracked your eye open, Foul Legacy had finished with the blood- bitting, licking, and sucking across your thighs as it made its way closer and closer to your still sensitive pussy.
You bucked your hips away, squirming and begging as you tried to get through to Childe.
“No no no no- Childe! I’m too sensitive! You were too rough! Don’t use your tongue again!!”
Foul legacy looked up at you, an angry growl and tight ting of the claws at your wrists was all you needed to be frightened back into compliance.
You bit your cheek and looked away, a whiny whimper escaping from your throat as the head of Foul Legacy’s monstrous cock rubbed against your sore clit.
Well- at least it listened to you-
Although you weren’t sure you were grateful once it started pushing in. No matter how wet you had been, it would’ve hurt either way.
You couldn’t help it, you screamed. loud and pained until Foul Legacy shoved its tongue down your open mouth, muffling your screams as the large muscle wiggled its way past the muscles at the back of your throat, leaving you sobbing and gagging around it as the painful stretch of its cock only grew worse.
All the while, you were staring up. Not at your boyfriend, but at whatever he had become.
Tears flowed freely from your eyes as you struggled to breath around the tongue intent on making its way down your throat. The lack of oxygen at least partially distracted you from the burning stretch of your hole.
Foul Legacy didn’t remove its tongue from your mouth until you were too lost in pleasure to care about the pain. You couldn’t help but scream- the way Foul Legacy’s cock bullied it’s way inside of you- going deeper and deeper with each thrust, till it could bottom out easily with each thrust-
You were absolutely leaking around its cock, babbling and clenching as each of Foul Legacy’s thrusts sent the bed rocking and you bouncing.
You were too far gone to even care when you looked down- seeing Foul Legacy’s cock covered in blood as It roughly thrusted in and out- growling things about breeding you, filling you up, telling you that you’d make such a strong mother for its offspring.
Even when you came, Foul legacy didn’t stop, fucking you through not just that orgasm- but another one after it. By the time Foul Legacy finally did finish, you were hardly more than a fucked out mess beneath it. It’s hips stuttering and grinding into you as it filled you with waves and waves of cum- till it spilled out from your pussy, even while you were still stretched out on its cock.
Even then, Foul Legacy didn’t pull out, it kept you on its cock, curling its massive body around you protectively as you fell asleep almost immediately.

Like An Evening Sky || Ominis Gaunt x Reader (You) (+18)
Tumblr media
Outline: You ask Ominis to be your date for the ball and he feels sorry that he can’t see how beautiful you are... So you help him get a much more detailed and intimate idea of what you look like.
Tropes: friends to lovers, smut.
Word Count: 2’624
Warnings: explicit smut.
Tumblr media
For the past few months, all you heard about was that the Yule Ball was coming up. Students were excitedly - and constantly - chatting about it, planning their outfits or gossiping about who will be accompanying who, it pretty much was the event of the year for those who were old enough to attend.
You had been thinking about it too, of course, but more cautiously than the others. You usually dodged the persistent questions of your friends, asking who you were hoping would ask you or why you had refused to go with Leander, which might have been your only chance of having a date.
Now a few days before the event, you still weren’t sure if you’d bother attending, even though you had promised Natsai that you’d at least dress up and go to enjoy the buffet with her.
The library was quiet, with the faint sounds of whispers and pages being turned around you, you thought that you would have felt at peace, sheltered from the buzzing energy of other students preparing for the dance, but you found yourself mulling over it way more than you wanted. The main cause of your growing frustration happened to be sitting right across from you, focused on reading an ancient book with the help of his wand.
Ominis probably was the only last year student who didn’t mention the Yule Ball coming up once. Or if he did, he never talked about it with you. Which made it even more annoying than his apparent lack of interest in it. Ominis was supposed to be your friend, your best friend even, and yet you had no idea if he was planning to go and who he had asked on a date. And to make the matter worse, he didn’t seem to care about who you were planning to go with either.
“Ominis ?” You whispered, finally gathering the courage to satisfy your curiosity, even if it meant potentially feeling very upset because of his answers.
“Yes ?” His wand stopped following the sentences in his book and his pale eyes lifted to look in your direction, showing you that you had his full attention.
“Are you going to the ball ?” You asked, nervously doodling with your quill at the top of the parchment you were writing on.
“I… No, I don’t think so. Are you ?” He replied, his voice hesitant, making you wonder if he was hiding soemething from you or if he really hadn’t given the ball a single thought until today.
“I don’t know.” You shrugged, faking a detached tone. “But if you want to go, maybe we could go together ?”
You saw his eyes widen in surprise, a faint pink blush bringing color to his usually pale face.
“Uh, I guess we can… If you want.” He agreed and you let out a relieved sigh that you were sure he unmistakably noticed.
“Very well.” You said, loudly gathering your things and standing up from your seat. “Ill see you later.”
And with that, you rushed out of the library, hiding your silly smile behind your books and leaving him to study by himself, still a bit confused by your attitude.
●○●○●○●○●○●
You spent the evening before the ball in your dorm with Natsai, nervously getting ready, trying on the dress she had convinced you to buy during your last shopping trip to Hogsmead and getting your hair up in a sophisticated updo.
Natsai didn’t pester you about your date as much as you had expected her to. When you had told her and Garreth that you had asked Ominis, neither of them seemed surprised by your choice, only by the fact that neither of you had asked each other before. Was it so obvious to everyone that you had a crush on your best friend ? And did they think he liked you back ? Because frankly, even though he had agreed to accompany you tonight, you still weren’t sure if he was doing it for the sake of your friendship or because he was hoping for something more.
You walked to the temporary ballroom with your classmates, already hearing the music seeping through the closed doors and the laughters of students resonating against the walls. Up in the stairs, you spotted a group of first years, peeking from behind the railing with curious eyes. You smiled to yourself, remembering when you were their age, dreaming about attending this event too.
“I guess we’ll see you inside.” Natsai said, bringing your attention back to your trio. You followed her gaze to the opposite hallway, immediately noticing the handsome man standing there, in a immaculate white suit. You heart leaped in your chest. Ominis really was here and he was waiting for you.
Garreth and Natsai left you, arm in arm, as they entered the party. You took a deep breath and joined Ominis, as happy to see him as it was making you nervous.
“Good evening.” You greeted, once standing in front of him. “That suit looks very nice on you.”
He gave you a polite smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes, a twinge of sadness passing on his face.
“And I’m sure you look beautiful too tonight… Not that you don’t look nice on other days, I’m sure you do… What I’m saying is that you must have put in some big efforts to look even better and err… Forget it.”
You laughed, finding it cute how flustered he got with his attempt to compliment you. It was pretty unusual to see him lack self confidence and not express himself in perfect, almost diplomatic sentences. You thanked him anyway and looped your arm with his, guiding him to the ballroom.
You stood in awe at the entrance for a moment, amazed by how beautiful it looked inside. The room had been decorated in a winter theme, the snow falling from the enchanted sky above and the flickering of all the candles around making it look like you had stepped into a fairytale. You turned to Ominis, wondering if he was impressed too but the lack of reaction on his face reminded you that he couldn’t see how breathtaking it all was.
Students were dancing, others were excitedly chatting in groups and a few others were hanging by the buffet of sweets and various options of beverages. You found some of your classmates, talked and laughed together and shared a few dances with Ominis, who seemed to enjoy himself. Mostly.
But after two hours at the ball, alternating between dancing and filling your mouth with candies you never tried before, your date’s behavior changed, becoming a bit more distant and less talktative.
“Are you feeling unwell ?” You asked him, worried by how distraught he suddenly seemed.
“No… Yes.” He admitted, reluctantly. “All those people around, the music, the chatter… It’s a bit much for me too keep up with.”
“Oh, of course.” You nodded, only now understanding that he must feel overwhelmed by it all, his senses so much more sensitive than yours to compensate for his lost vision. He probably knew he’d end up feeling this way if he attended the ball, which explained why he had been trying to avoid it but he had agreed to go with you because he was a good friend and you felt awfully guilty about it now. “Let’s go outside.”
With your arm looped with his again, you guided him out of the ballroom and into the quiet gardens of the castle. The stars were brightly shining in the night sky and although the air was a bit chilly, it felt nice to escape the warmth and humidity of the party for a while.
You walked to an alcove, where you both sat on a stone bench, sheltered by the cold winter breeze and far away enough from the doors to only hear faint music reaching your ears.
“That’s much better, thank you.” Ominis said, looking indeed relived but sadness remained in his expression. “I’m sorry, I don’t want to ruin your night. It’s alright if you’d rather go back inside and dance with someone else while I take a break here.”
“Don’t be silly, you’re not ruining anything and I’d much rather stay with you, I don’t care that much about dancing or partying anyway.”
“You don’t ?” He asked, confused again. “Why did you ask me to attend with you then ?”
“Because it sounded nice to spend some more time with you.” You replied, honestly. It had been a while you hadn’t been just the two of you together , maybe because he had been avoiding talks about the Yule Ball and therefor avoiding you and your friends as well.
“With me ?” He repeated, as if he couldn’t quite believe you. “Why would you want to have me as a date ? I’m not exactly a social butterfly and I can’t appreciate how lovely you must look tonight. I heard Leander and Garreth whispering about you earlier, they said you were the most beautiful girl in there but me ? I have no idea what you look like, not tonight, not at all.”
“I’m sorry Ominis, I didn’t know it mattered to you.”
“It doesn’t, not really. I think you’re amazing because of who you are, not what you look like… I just think it’s a shame you look so beautiful and I don’t get to enjoy it like the others do. Especially tonight, you probably have a nice hairdo and you must be wearing a gorgeous dress but it’s all the same to me.”
“Very well then.” You stood up and placed yourself in front of him, reaching for his hand and bringing it to your waist.
“What… What are you up to ?” He asked, barely daring to touch you, even with your permission.
“I want to show you what I look like, in a way that works for you.” You explained, gently moving his hand to the front of your dress so that he could feel the pearls sewn on the fabric underneath his fingers.
He seemed to understand what you were expecting of him and soon, his curiosity took over his cautionary nature. He followed the pearls from your hips up to your stomach, really feeling the different textures he touched.
“Your dress is soft.” He stated, moving upwards until he reached the opening of the low neckline. He tentatively stroked your bare skin there with two fingers, a satisfied smile appearing on his lips as he did. “But it isn’t as soft as your skin.”
“It’s… A dark blue dress.” You told him, wondering if he even knew what this color looked like. Maybe it didn’t matter, but you felt compelled to say something, anything, just to encourage him to keep going.
“Like an evening sky.”
You took a step closer, standing between his legs and his other hand joined his exploration of your body. He traced the outline of your silhouette, going from your hips all the way up your sides and softly grazing your cleveage. Your breath caught in your throat at the more intimate touches which caused him to stop them.
“No, keep going. Please.” You whispered, your voice guiding his eyes to yours. With his face lifted up to you, as you stood over him, you could easily reach for his blond hair and push back the stray piece falling on his forehead.
He listened, his hands resuming their wandering up your body, caressing your chest before heading downwards, back to your hips, and then to your thighs, noticing and taking in all the curves and lines of your body.
In the darkness of this starry winter night, with nothing but the light of the moon to illuminate his white form, you dared do the one thing he never found the courage to do himself and leaned over to plant a kiss on his lips.
The kiss was just as soft and gentle as his touch once his surprise faded and he pulled you even closer. You heard him whisper your name as you both came up for air, so you kissed him once more to show him that you were still there with him.
That second kiss seemed to ingnite a forgotten passion inside him, his lips pressing harder on yours as he pulled you once more, but with much more strength than before. You landed on his lap and you felt his arms around your waist securing you on top of him.
It was your turn to whisper his name, as his hand grew a lot more confident in the way it roamed over your body. After a few more feverish kisses, he pulled the fabric of your dress up your legs. You shivered at the feeling of the cold night air on your previously covered skin but the way his fingers now danced over your bare skin instantly warmed you up.
“Are we all alone ?” Ominis asked, between two breathless kisses.
You looked around, checking your surroundings as well as you could from your seat on his lap, under the alcove you had find refuge in.
“I think so… Why ?” The question had escaped your lips before you even realized it, causing an amused smile to appear on Ominis’s face.
“Because if I manage to get some satisfied sounds out of you, I want to be the only one to hear them.” He said, his good manners and cautious vocabulary long gone. His answer sent a wave of intense heat through your body, burning your cheeks.
He moved his hand under your dress, reaching for your underwear and interrupting his caress just shy of the hem. “May I ?”
“Please.” You begged, spreading your legs slightly further apart to grant him better access to your center.
He kissed you at the same time that his fingers moved inside your panties, exploring the most intimate part of your body with eagerness. He slipped between your folds, easily finding your clit and gently rubbing it between his fingers, making you exhale in shocked pleasure. You closed your arms around his shoulders, burying your face against him as he kept playing with you, your need for relief slowly but surely increasing with each of his movements.
You were pretty sure that it couldn’t get any better than that, with his palm adding pressure to your entrance while his fingers were expertly torturing your clit but he proved you wrong as soon as he pushed one of his elegant fingers inside of you.
You closed your eyes, surprised by the intensity you felt in the pit of your stomach as he reverently moved it back and forth inside you. You were getting used to the sensation, and your body was too judging by how it was becoming increasingly easier for his finger to glide in and out of your body.
Then, he added a finger to the one already there and your body shook with pleasure. You moaned quietly against him, which seemed to encourage him to thrust his fingers into you even deeper, with rapid movements you could barely keep track of.
“Ominis.” You whimpered, against his neck, feeling his grip on you tighten to hold you in place on top of him. A few more seconds and the dam inside you broke, flooding your whole body in numb pleasure. You put a hand on top of where his still was, to stop the motions that you couldn’t take anymore and he understood, putting your panties as they were and gently kissing your forehead as you still tried to catch your breath.

“You’re staring,” Ominis murmured before letting out a quiet sigh. “Again.”
“She’s talking to Weasley,” Sebastian muttered back, his arms folded across his chest.
“Which one?” he asked, a wry smile slipping into his face. Ominis didn’t need to be able to see to know Sebastian was glaring at him.
“Garreth, you prat.” A brief silence fell over the pair as Sebastian continued to watch the interaction between Y/N and Garreth Weasley. Y/N threw her head back and laughed at something Garreth said, and Sebastian felt something in his chest tighten as the sun caught on the natural highlights hidden in her hair. “He can’t be that funny.” Garreth muttered something to Y/N and she turned in his direction to catch his eye. He felt every nerve in his body as she smiled sweetly at him and waved her fingers to say hello before looking back at the wizard in front of her. “He’s just using her.”
“How can you be so sure?” Ominis’ eyebrows shot up in surprise as he turned his head to look at Sebastian (he hoped he was, at least).
“Isn’t everyone?” Sebastian asked. Ominis had been there with him that fateful day in the bathrooms. They had both heard what had been said, had both heard the chorus of laughter and agreement that followed.
“Everyone but you, you mean.”
“Don’t be ridiculous, Ominis,” he looked away from Y/N to narrow his eyes at his friend beside him. “You’re not using her either.”
“Aren’t I?” Ominis asked. There was a beat of silence between them before he laughed loudly at the lack of response from the brunet, and he could almost picture the incredulous look being shot his way.
Sebastian would blame the sun, he decided, if anyone asked why he was frowning in your direction. It had come out today, and the trio had taken advantage of the warmth it provided to sit in the gardens by the north entrance for the castle. It seemed they hadn’t been the only ones to have the idea and it wasn’t long before Y/N had leapt from her position in the grass next to him to greet Natsai Onai and the red-clad gaggle that seemed to follow. Sebastian couldn’t help but begrudge Natty (who was a wonderful witch despite being in Gryffindor) from stealing you away from him. He had been content with your arm pressed against his, your legs touching as you stretched out beside him, head almost resting on his shoulder as you watched the clouds drift by.
Ominis twirled his wand idly in his hands, the sensor pulsing every-so-often to let him know Sebastian was still brooding beside him. Although he didn’t need it to, because if he listened carefully he could hear Sebastian mutter to himself occasionally as he more than likely watched Y/N from across the gardens. It wasn’t loud enough for Ominis to hear everything he was saying, but he did manage to catch phrases such as stupid Gryffindors and was just going to hold her hand. The latter made Ominis snort in amusement. Sebastian had been working up the courage to admit his feelings for the third member of their little group since the beginning of their sixth year, and now here they were nearing the end of their seventh and final year.
He had tried to tell Sebastian - time and time again - that there was nothing to fear and that he strongly suspected you returned his feelings, but he refused to listen. Ominis wouldn’t outright betray your trust and inform Sebastian of the late night conversations they shared where you voiced your concerns for the brunet, voice tinged with more than just friendly admiration. Instead, he subtly tried to push the pair together with flimsy excuses to explain his perpetual absence. Not that it did any good when either of you refused to acknowledge the Erumpent in the room.
It could be worse, he mused, I could actually have to witness the pining between them, instead of just hearing about it.
“Get up,” Sebastian nudged Ominis gently and stood up. “Come on.”
“Where are we going?”
“We’re going to save Y/N,” Sebastian replied as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
“Y/N doesn’t need saving,” Ominis rolled his eyes, but stood up nonetheless, brushing grass from his robes. “In fact, I need to remind you that she has saved us. Several times.”
“Well, call this us returning the favour,” he tugged Ominis in the right direction softly before letting go of his robes and stalking over to where Y/N and Garreth were sat talking, set a little apart from the rest of the Gryffindors. “Y/N…Weasley.” He nodded once at the wizard and came to a stop right next to Y/N. Ominis, wand held aloft, offered the ground an awkward smile. “I can’t believe you left us for a bunch of Gryffindors,” he looked down at her, forcing a chuckle so he didn’t start an inter-house fight. “Are we not enough for you?”
“Don’t start,” Y/N laughed and rolled her eyes at him. “Garreth was just telling me about his newest potion idea.”
“Planning on getting her into more trouble by making her sneak into Sharp’s office for supplies again?” The comment earned Sebastian a nudge in the ribs from Y/N, but Garreth chuckled and shook his head.
“Actually, I was hoping Y/N would accompany me to the Forbidden Forest soon to gather some ingredients.”
“Not man enough to go it alone?” Sebastian nodded thoughtfully. The tips of Garreth’s ears were tinged pink as he looked between the three of them, before an easygoing smile fell across his features.
“Is that why you keep asking her to join you on trips to spider caves?” Ominis let a laugh slip out at Garreth’s words, and Sebastian shot him a glare for it. Y/N shuffled nervously on her feet between them all, sensing some tension simmering under the surface. She wasn’t sure why they were both standing there, chests puffed out, and had a feeling she didn’t want to know. The only one who didn’t seem to be stancing was Ominis, who looked just as out of place as she felt.
“I don’t mind going into the forest,” Y/N supplied quietly. Two pairs of eyes shot her way, and Ominis looked a little to her left. “I mean, I need to go anyway. Ms Bugbrooke asked me to go and check in on a unicorn she named Hazel and find a way to keep her safe.”
“I thought we were going to go do that this weekend?” Sebastian asked.
“You could all go,” Ominis supplied. He could feel Y/N relax from beside him, her hand reaching between their robes to squeeze his arm in gratitude. “Saves for multiple trips to the forest.”
“I don’t think that’s wise,” Sebastian frowned, crossing his arms. Garreth gave them all a half-hearted smile and shrugged.
“You let me know, Y/N. I’ve got to get to Charms, I can’t be late again or Ronen will tell my aunt,” he shuddered at the thought and waved goodbye to the three of them before turning to walk away. Y/N offered Garreth a forced smile as he left and waited until he was well out of earshot before whirling around to face Sebastian and hit him with her glove.
“What was that?”
“What was what?”
“Don’t play dumb, Sebastian. It doesn’t become you.”
“Sweetheart, everything becomes me,” he sent her a cocky grin, his body language loosening now that Garreth was gone. “Do you want me to walk you - both of you - to class?” He bent down to pick up her discarded bag and slung it over his shoulder.
“Don’t change the subject,” she sighed in annoyance, her eyes narrowing. “You always seem to do this whenever I’m speaking to someone.”
“I don’t do it to Poppy, Natty, Imelda, or Ominis.”
“Please, leave me out of this,” Ominis muttered, looking away from them as they began to walk to the castle for class. Even though he knew he couldn’t see it, Sebastian still shot his friend a look as if to say way to back me up, help me out here and hoped he would get the message. The trio walked in silence until they passed the History of Magic classroom.
“Why don’t you let me talk to any of our classmates?”
“You’re talking to me, aren’t you? And you speak to Ominis all the time,” Sebastian gestured at his friend, who cringed internally at being brought back into this. He hoped if he kept silent that they would forget he was there, and perhaps he could sneak off and make it to class on his own. Not that it would do much good - he shared his next class with Y/N, and Sebastian was sure to follow. They had overheard a conversation between her, Imelda, Poppy and Natty about the chivalrous actions some of the wizards at the school took to get the attention of the witches and which ones in particular seemed to charm the girls the most. Ever since then Sebastian had held her school bag and walked her to every class.
“Stop trying to be charming, Sebastian. I’m annoyed at you.”
“You think I’m charming?” Sebastian grinned down at her, earning a quiet whack as she hit him with her glove again. “Why are you so violent today?”
“Why are you so bothersome today?” she shot back. Ominis smiled to himself and walked a little faster. As much as he enjoyed hearing Y/N rip into Sebastian, he did not want to get caught in the middle.
Y/N wrapped her arms around herself, trying to fight the chill that lingered in the stone walls after the warmth they had felt outside. Sebastian had been acting differently lately. Some days he was attentive, almost sweet; others like today, he was a nuisance, plain and simple. She never knew who she was going to get - the man who greeted her with coffee and a smile in the mornings, his hand lingering on hers after he handed her the mug, or the sulking mass walking by her. Her eyes fell on his back, watching as his muscles rippled through the white shirt, at her bag hanging on his shoulder.
He never aimed that gruffness in her direction, she realised. Even now, he was holding her bag for her and looked over his shoulder to see if she was still with them, a breathtaking smile falling on his face when he caught her eye. It was only ever when one of their male classmates spoke to her, standing a little too close that he began to act out, and despite his protests that she spoke to Ominis, she had seen him do it with him too. It was to a lesser scale, but even this morning he had placed himself between the pair as they all sat in the sun, his shoulder pressed against hers.
“Why won’t you let me speak to any men?” the words slipped out of her mouth before she could process them. Sebastian came to a stop and looked at her in confusion. She was vaguely aware of Ominis slowing as well from in front of them, a low groan escaping from him.
“What?”
“That conversation you were having with Garreth wasn’t exactly pleasant, and it’s not the first time this has happened.” Sebastian watched as she twisted her fingers together nervously and longed to take her hand in his. “Don’t you want me to be happy?”
“You think Weasley is going to make you happy?” Sebastian raised an eyebrow.
“I-I don’t know! But how am I meant to find out when you keep…”
“When I keep…?” His casual tone infuriated Y/N, and judging by the amusement in his eye and the twitch in the corner of his mouth, he knew it.
“When you keep acting so possessive!”
“Maybe I’m just a good judge of character and know none of those simpering idiots who keep coming over are enough for you.”
“Enough for me - ” Ire flared at his words and she gave him a withering look. “You have some nerve, Sebastian Sallow. And you,” she glared at Ominis, who had the decency to look a little frazzled at her anger. “I expected better from you, you’re always by his side whenever this happens. Care to explain yourself?” Ominis shook his head slowly and backed away a few steps as Sebatian came forward.
“Don’t take it out on him, he had no part in this.”
“Good to know the stupidity started and ended with you, then,” Y/N snapped. She turned her back on him and walked a few steps away to calm down. “Why do you always do this to me, Sebastian? Give me one good reason why you keep acting out like this.”
“I’m only looking out for your best interests. You need someone who will challenge you,” Sebastian stood taller, annoyance flashing in his eyes. “Not a lapdog who will roll over every time you call their name. You need an equal.” Ominis grimaced at his best friend's words and slowly began to back away. He didn’t make it too far before someone bumped into him, pausing to listen to the argument occurring in the hallway.
“Who are you to presume anything about my happiness?” Y/N stalked forward to poke Sebastian in the chest roughly. “Who would even fit within your insane standards for me? Who would challenge me, make me happy, treat me as their equal?” she asked, all but spitting the words at him. “You?”
“Maybe.” Sebastian shrugged, not quite meeting her eye as he shuffled between his feet nervously.
“You…” Y/N let out an incredulous laugh. “You’re something else, Sallow.” In all the times Y/N had imagined Sebastian admitting he may return his feelings for her it never went like this, in a corridor attracting the attention of their classmates with their fight. “I have done nothing but wait for you to notice me for two years, Sebastian. And when I finally realise you’ll never see me the way I want and decide to move on, that’s when you’re determined to want me?”
“I don’t just want you,” his voice was hoarse with her declaration. Two years? How could she not see that I’ve noticed her, that I've only ever noticed her? How could this have gone wrong so fast.
“You’re nothing but a jealous coward.” With one final poke to the chest, Y/N took her bag and started to walk away from him and the little crowd that had gathered.
“You think I don’t know how selfish I’m being?” Sebastian called out, suddenly finding his voice. He followed her path, near enough pushing anyone aside who stood in his way. “I would give anything - anything - to go back to that day we first met. Back when all you were was Atë personified, before I realised how absolutely breathtaking every inch of your soul is. You’ve ruined me, Y/N!”
“And that’s my fault?”
“I’m not saying that!” Sebastian groaned and reached for the sleeve of her robe to pull her to a stop. He quickly rescinded his hand when she shot him a menacing glare as if to say I dare you.
“Then what are you saying?” she asked. Doubt clutched him, stopping the words from leaving his mouth. He must have waited a beat too long to respond because Y/N sighed, and the disappointment on her face was enough to bring him to his knees as she continued to walk away from him, the students they had attracted parting to let her through. She had made it halfway down the corridor when sharp panic squeezed his chest tightly.
“I’m in love with you!” he shouted after her. His face flamed at the confession, at the sudden whispers of those around him as his words echoed down the stone corridor. Y/N stopped, and for a second Sebastian felt hope that she would turn around and say she loved him too. That it was him she wanted, who she always wanted.
“Well, you have a funny way of showing it.” He watched in despair as she walked away from him, slipping through the doors that would take her into another hall. There was a dull roaring in his ears, drowning out the sudden whispers that had started around him. A gentle hand landed on his shoulder and he looked over slowly to see Ominis, a grim look on his face. Sebastian couldn’t bear to see the sympathy in his gaze, to hear the voices around him talking about his rejected confession.
“All right, show’s over!” he growled, shaking Ominis’ hand from his shoulder. “Everyone clear off.” He rolled his shoulders and stood a little straighter before stalking down the corridor. The younger students jumped out of his way, and he caught the looks of pity from those in his year. Poppy tried to step forward and speak to him, but he just shook his head at her and walked out of the hall and made his way to the Undercroft.
*~*~*~*~*
It had been nearly a week since Y/N and Sebastian’s argument in the middle of the hallway and she could still hear people whisper about it as she walked by, as if she couldn’t hear a word they were saying. A group of Ravenclaws were sitting at a table in the library near Y/N, Poppy and Imelda, and every-so-often they looked over and started to giggle.
“Just ignore them,” Poppy murmured to her.
“No,” Imelda glared at the group, who immediately quieted down and looked away. “They need to learn to keep their mouths shut, or I’ll do it for them.” She raised her voice just enough for them to hear her threat and they quickly packed their things and left in a flurry of navy robes.
“You can’t threaten everyone in the school, Imelda,” Y/N said with a sigh, not looking up from her Charms textbook. Another group would soon come and replace that one, and the cycle would just repeat itself.
“Watch me.” Her grin was unnerving to say the least. “What’s he doing in here?” Y/N looked up to see Sebastian walking up the stairs into the upper part of the library where they were currently sitting. He looked around, a little unsure of himself and Y/N’s heart clenched in her chest at the sight. He always looked so confident, even when he was utterly terrified, but now he just looked lost. “He better not come over here.”
“Imelda,” Poppy sighed and shook her head. “We don’t even know if he’s here for Y/N, he could be here to study.” Even though Poppy was right, Y/N couldn’t help but wish that he was here for her, that he wanted to speak to her.
“No you don’t, wipe that look off your face,” Imelda pointed her quill at Y/N. “Don’t go mooning over him after what he’s put you through. You don’t need someone who’s going to treat you that poorly.”
“He doesn’t exactly look great himself.”
“Who’s side are you on, Sweeting?”
“I didn’t realise there were any.” Y/N rolled her eyes as the pair continued to bicker, her gaze turning back to Sebastian, who had turned in their direction as he heard Poppy and Imelda arguing. He caught her eye and began to slowly make his way to their table, casting a weary glance at Imelda as he neared.
“What do you want, Sallow?” Imelda snapped at him, turning on him as he got closer.
“Hello, Sebastian, are you alright?” Poppy nudged her in reprimand and offered him an awkward smile.
“I-I’d like to speak to Y/N, if that’s okay,” he asked, not quite looking at any of them.
“Come to shout more declarations of love in my face?” It was a low blow, and Y/N knew it. She watched as he flinched slightly and looked away from her, his shoulders slumped in defeat. She was vaguely aware of Poppy grabbing onto Imelda’s robes to pull her away while the latter protested as she stared at him. There were dark circles under his eyes as if he hadn’t slept in days, and his shirt and robes were rumpled. “Sit down,” she muttered, closing her book. “You look like you’re about to pass out from exhaustion.”
Sebastian listened, his hands running through his hair as he slumped down into a seat. He looked awful, Y/N noted, eyes wandering over his frame. It went beyond the creased clothes and the lack of sleep. He looked paler, and Y/N watched as he sighed heavily and rubbed a hand down his face.
“I’m sorry, Y/N. I went too far.” There was a different level of weariness in his voice, it went down to his bones, his very soul. The man in front of her was not the one she had fallen for. Her heart ached as he looked up at her slowly with dull eyes. “I always go too far.”
“You do,” she murmured. His eyes slid shut at her words and he braced himself for a blow that wasn’t coming. “And yet, somehow, I always forgive you for it.” She hated admitting it out loud, but once her rage had simmered and the adrenaline had left her a few hours after their fight, she had forgiven him. She could never stay mad at him for long. Even after their only other argument that had happened in the Undercroft years ago when he had called her ignorant for trusting a goblin and stormed out she hadn’t been hurt or angry, just concerned for him.
“I don’t deserve you.”
“No, you don’t.” She waited until he looked at her before giving him a small, teasing smile. They stared at each other for a few seconds in silence, each drinking in the different ways the other had changed in the past few days until Y/N sighed and looked away again. “I’m not an object to be possessed, Sebastian. You can’t just stake your claim on me.”
“I never…I’m sorry. I don’t mean to be like this. I just…” he sighed and tried to sit a little straighter in his seat. Y/N waited patiently for him to finish his sentence, waited as the wheels turned in his head and he tried to figure out what he wanted to say. He looked at her from the corner of his eye, his heart constricting in his chest and he saw the matching dark rings under her eyes.
“I’m not going to fight you, Sebastian,” Y/N said gently, reaching his hand. She stopped before she could touch it and instead started to fiddle with the quill Poppy had left behind. “You can say what you need to.”
“It’s not pleasant.”
“None of this has been.”
“No, it hasn’t,” he smiled without humour and finally looked her in the eye. “Ominis and I once heard a conversation in the bathroom. I don’t think they realised we were in there, and they were gone before we could confront them. They were talking about you. About how they wanted to spend time with you and ask you to accompany them - alone, might I add - to the Three Broomsticks so that they could be seen with the Hero of Hogwarts.” Sebastian all but spat the nickname out, hating it in that moment. “They all left before I could see who they were. Ever since then I’ve stood between you and anyone who looked like they were trying to express interest because I didn’t know who was genuine and who was just using you.”
“Garreth…” Sebastian hated himself for being the one to break the news, for putting that heartbroken expression on her face. Y/N felt her stomach churn in revulsion and grief. She wasn’t stupid, she knew there were people in the school who only wanted to be seen with her because of what she was as opposed to who she was. She knew some of the requests she politely turned down for company and a drink in Hogsmeade weren’t out of attraction, but rather a ploy to get into her graces. She never suspected Garreth would be one of them. She was hurt - not because she had feelings for him, but because she had thought they were friends.
“No, I made a mistake with him.” He pulled a face as he admitted he was wrong. “It turns out he actually wants to get to know you - the real you.” Oh. Oh. Y/N felt her face flush and Sebastian looked away. He couldn’t bear to watch her blush over Garreth Weasley, or anyone, for that matter.
“What about you?”
“What about me?”
“Your delivery was less than ideal but…did you mean it? Do you mean it?” she asked nervously, her voice no more than a whisper. Sebastian hated the look on her face, hated seeing her so unsure of herself.
“Y/N, I’ve been in love with you since our fifth year.”
“What does that mean?”
“It means,” he held a hand out for hers, letting her make the decision if she wanted to take it or not. A few seconds passed, and he was just about to rescind the offer, when she shyly placed her hand in his. He squeezed her hand gently, his thumb brushing her knuckles as he tried not to think about how perfectly her hand fit in his. “It means that I want you to be happy,” he murmured, “and if Weasley makes you happy - or anyone else who wishes to genuinely court you - I’ll take a step back.”
It hurt him to say the words out loud, to voice the possibility that after all this she wouldn’t want him anymore. Not the way she had once, the way he currently still wanted her. He let her collect her thoughts, watched as she chewed on her lower lip.
“What if…what if I don’t want you to?” Y/N asked, voice so quiet he almost missed it.
Sebastian’s heart stuttered at the blush that rose to her cheeks, and he wanted nothing more than to pull her into his arms, to be the only one that made her blush like that ever again. For the rest of their lives. The thought startled him slightly, but he realised it was true. He wasn’t saying he wanted to marry her (although, a rather enticing image of Y/N floating down the aisle to him in a white dress did flash to mind), but he wanted to stay by her side. Whether that was in a friendly capacity or more. Merlin, did he hope it was more.
“I meant what I said too, about waiting for you to notice me,” she continued.
“Darling, I’ve not noticed anyone else since the day I met you.” He brushed his thumb across the back of her hand again and squeezed it gently before pressing a kiss to her knuckles. He watched in satisfaction as her blush deepened, and tried to read the flicker of emotions that passed across her face. “I’m more than aware my confession was…something, to say the least (Y/N rolled her eyes at this) but I meant what I said. I’m in love with you, Y/N Y/L/N. I have been for a while now.” She looked away, unable to handle the deep emotions swirling in his eyes, that are written clearly on his face for anyone to see. She didn’t doubt for a second that he was telling the truth. “I don’t expect you to say it back.”
“I…I’m not good with all of this. I can’t quite say if it’s love but…” Her face burns, and she feels as if it will be a permanent shade of red after this conversation. “I am entranced by you, Sebastian Sallow. I’ve never been in love before, never felt it in anything more than a friendly capacity, but with you…it’s different. It runs far deeper than I can explain.” She presses a hand to her chest, right above her heart that is beating so hard it’s a wonder he can’t hear it. “I can’t picture my life without you in it, whether that is as a friend or more.”
Y/N doesn’t know how else to put it into words. She can’t seem to say that it’s been him from the very beginning. From the moment she beat him in their first duel and he was thrilled instead of being put out she knew she was in trouble. She’d only fallen faster and harder since then, from their first trip to Hogsmeade where he flirted with her the whole way, until the day his uncle had died and she had talked Ominis out of sending him to Azkaban.
“You don’t need to say it back,” Sebastian repeated, his grip on her hand tightening as he took note of the adoration in her eyes. “I mean, how could you not be in love with me?” Y/N laughed loudly before clapping her hand over her mouth suddenly. They waited with baited breath for Scribner to come and reprimand them, only relaxing when they couldn’t hear her making her way up the stairs.
“You have to apologise to Garreth.” Sebastian groaned at her words, but there was a smile on his face that he couldn’t quite hide from her. Already he looked better. He still needed a good night’s sleep, in Y/N’s opinion, but life was returning to his eyes and he sat a little straighter, a little taller.
“Where does this leave us?” he asked, shuffling his chair closer to hers so their knees could press together under the table. He hooked one foot under her ankle and tangled their legs together, enjoying the look on her face as he did so.
“I’m still mad at you. But knowing you did this to be noble…to protect me. That lessens the blow.” She gently squeezed his leg between hers, grinning to herself as she watched him take his turn to blush. “I do hope you know I don’t need protection though.”
“My still-healing ego from our first Defence Against the Dark Arts class together remembers.”
He’s rewarded with her laugh again, her real one, and he makes a silent promise to make her laugh the same way every day for the rest of their lives. Every muscle in his body loosens at the sound, and he feels like he can finally breathe again when she grins at him and tugs him a little closer by his tie.
“If you ever pull a stunt like this again…” Although there was still a smile on her face, the threat was evident in her eyes. He nodded quickly, throat bobbing as she twirled his tie between her fingers and let go. She watches as he looks down at her lips nervously and gratification shot her through as his face slowly flushed. A smirk falls on her face at this, and she raises an eyebrow at him when he finally looks up to meet her gaze. “Feeling a little warm?”
“What, no.” He leans back and rubs the back of his neck, his blush deepening.
“Ah, so you’re just blushing like a third year at the thought of kissing me.”
“I’m not blushing.”
“So you want to kiss me?”
“Darling, I always want to kiss you.” The look he gives her makes her stomach flip.  “Can I…”
“Not until you ask me properly.”
“To kiss you?”
“Sebastian.”
“Alright, alright, fine,” he grins, loving the way she rolls her eyes at him. “Will you do me the honour of joining me on a trip to Hogsmeade?”
“Right now?”
“Right now.”
“Sebastian, it’s nearly curfew.”
“And when has that stopped you before?” he laughs and begins to gather her things into her bag before slinging it over his shoulder. He holds a hand out to her expectantly and waits until she grabs a hold of it before they leave the library, waving goodbye at Imelda and Poppy (who are doing their very best - and failing - to eavesdrop). They make it as far as the doors that lead to the greenhouses when Sebastian pulls her under the stairs, ensuring no one can see them as they dip into one of the shadows. She meets him halfway, pressing their lips together in a long overdue kiss.
“Do you have any final demands for this? For us?” he murmurs against her lips.
“Only one.” Her fingers run through his hair and his heart stutters in his chest. “I’m never going to make this easy for you. I'm going to challenge you every day for the rest of our lives.”
“I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

ONESHOT: Brewing Affections ~ Sebastian Sallow x Fem!Reader
GENRE: Fluff, Smut, Angst
Masterlist
"Hurry up, Garreth, we're going to be late!" you groan as you look behind you while your brother struggles to take out his wand from his robe.
"Relax sis, we still have a whole five minutes," he retorts.
You sigh. "It's not a short walk to the potions room, you know," you reply, rolling your eyes as you turn back around. "You always make us late."
"Do not!" he retorts.
"Oh really? Last week, we were almost 10 minutes late to charms, and the week before, we were 15 minutes late, and the week before—"
"Okay okay, I get it!" he grumbles. "We'll make it, though. Besides, who's going to care?"
You sigh. He doesn't understand the importance of being punctual. You, on the other hand, are a stickler for being on time. It's the one thing you don't need to be smart to do at this school.
Finally, after a seven-minute walk, you arrive only slightly late to Professor Sharp's potions class. The two of you stand by your cauldrons with the other 7th year Gryffindors who tell you that Sharp is still writing something down on his desk, and hasn't begun. Unfortunately for you, this causes Garreth to stick out his tongue at you and say, "I told you so!"
You scoff, "Whatever."
The two of you get ready for the lesson, pulling out your vials, measuring spoons, and ingredients. But when Professor Sharp is finally ready to start class, he clears his throat and begins to explain that today's class will be slightly different. "Today," he says with a bit of a proud grin on his face, "I will be pairing you up with different partners. Good practice for some of you who can't seem to get along with the other houses in here."
"I swear to god if he pairs me up with that wannabe pretty boy Sallow," Garreth begins to complain to Leander on the opposite side of where you sit, "I'll fucking quit this class."
You roll your eyes. Garreth has always had a rivalry with Sebastian. It's not really a rivalry, but more so that the two are complete opposites of each other. You don't usually pay it much mind. They're both on rival quidditch teams, and have different opinions on nearly everything so it's pretty normal. However, the fact that they're both so competitive makes their arguments much worse.
"Now, please listen carefully, for I will not be repeating myself," Professor Sharp continues, "When I call your names, you will go sit across from your partner. Understood?"
There are a couple of quiet mumbles of "Yes Sir," before Professor Sharp continues.
"Mr. Cromwell, with Ms. Jones."
"Lucky Cromwell," Garreth nods to Leander.
"Ms. Huxley, with Mr. Prewett," Sharp continues. "Hm, then I'll have Ms. Weasley with Mr. Sallow."
Garreth's head immediately turns to yours and he mouths, "Better you than me."
You, however, just shake your head and shrug your shoulders. It's not a big deal to you, even though the two of you can't get along, you'll at least be able to get the job done.
You watch as Sebastian slowly makes his way across the classroom to your station. You're not sure why he's moving so slowly, but you think it might be his ego weighing him down.
"Better keep your hands to yourself, Sallow," Garreth whispers to him with narrowing eyes. "Touch my sister and you're dead."
"I think you better tell her that," Sebastian smirks as he leans against the table, "She's the one who couldn't keep her hands off of me yesterday."
Your eyes widen. What the fuck is he talking about?
"What the hell are you talking about?" Garreth's voice is rising. "You lying—"
"Hey hey," Leander holds his arm out in front of him, "Don't get yourself in trouble with Sharp."
Sebastian is smiling to himself as the four of you watch Professor Sharp call the rest of the class to their new stations. Once Garreth is gone, you're left to deal with Sebastian on your own. It's then that Professor Sharp gives directions, explaining that he will be giving each table their own, unknown potion and are expected to brew it before leaving the room. "Teamwork," he tells the class. "Will be imperative to completing this potion I promise you've never attempted to brew before. And, I have a feeling it will take some time," Professor Sharp shakes his head.
You try not to ignore how close Sebastian is getting to you as Sharp passes out instructions on a small piece of paper. Once you receive yours, you read it aloud to Sebastian.
"You know those directions are never accurate," he sighs once you finish, picking up way too much Serpentine Shadowroot than needed.
"Are you serious? I don't think Sharp would give us a mystery potion with incorrect directions," you shake your head as you snatch the shadow root from his hand.
"Yes, I am serious. You must not be familiar with Sharp's techniques then. Remind me, are you new here? Do you need me to teach you, Y/N," Sebastian grins, leaning in close.
You roll your eyes. "Don't pretend like you know him better than anyone else. You're always trying to prove yourself to everyone."
"And what's wrong with that?" Sebastian asks.
"You're so annoying," you shake your head as you measure out just the right amount of shadow root.
"You really want us to fail, don't you? Are you trying to spend extra time with me, Weasley?" he then asks you, his smirk only widening on his face.
"Merlin's Beard, you just can't help yourself, can you? I'm pretty sure I've made it fairly obvious I'm not interested in you flirting with me right now, Sallow," you grumble.
"Oh? Not right now?" he repeats. "So does that mean I've got a shot later?"
"Shut up, Sallow. Just read the damn directions again," you shake your head.
"Why? So you can be a goody two shoes and do all the work? That's what all your friends see, don't they?" he begins to provoke you.
"No," you shake your head. "You don't know what you're talking about."
"I don't?" Sebastian laughs. "I think I know you and your friends a lot better than you think."
"You don't know me," you roll your eyes.
"You're right. But I'm willing to learn," Sebastian smirks.
You don't even bother replying, you just roll your eyes and reach past him to get the next ingredient. "No, that's not next!" he suddenly shouts, causing you to pull back your arm so quickly that you bump your elbow against your cauldron and spill the contents onto the floor. You glare at Sebastian as the rest of the class stares in your direction.
"You ass, what the hell was that?!" you exclaim, reaching over and grabbing his shirt collar.
"I didn't mean—" he starts to defend himself.
Just then, Professor Sharp approaches and clears his throat. You let go of Sebastian and place your hands on your sides. "Apologies, Professor, but-"
"Save it, Weasley," he shakes his head. "I suppose the whole family really is the same. I thought you were different. To the Headmaster's office. Both of you!"
***
"Back again, Sallow?" Headmaster Black shakes his head when he sees the two of you begrudgingly enter his office. "You really need to stop getting yourself sent here."
"What? But I don't always come," Sebastian insists. "Scribner lets me go almost every time!"
"Oh does she now?" Black nods his head as though he had no previous knowledge of this. "Well, she must have been feeling particularly nice then."
You can't help but chuckle quietly to yourself as Sebastian gets reprimanded. You've only ever talked to Headmaster Black a few times over the past few years, and it was only really because of what happened to your parents in Hogsmeade two years back.
"I understand the situation with your sister, Anne, and wanting to help find a cure for her seemingly unmanageable illness, but this is not the way of doing things," Black continues.
"Yes, Sir," Sebastian sighs.
Your smile fades as Sebastian hangs his head down low. You didn't realize just how poorly his sister was doing, and judging by his reaction, you can only assume the worst.
"Now," Headmaster Black begins to address the both of you, "What was the incident today in potions?"
"She—" Sebastian immediately begins, before you cut him off.
"I bumped my elbow against the cauldron and knocked it over, causing Sebastian to get in trouble for my mistake," you explain.
"No, no, no," Sebastian insists. "That's not what-"
"But that is the truth," you insist, looking at the Headmaster, "I'll gladly accept whatever punishment you deem appropriate."
"Very well," he sighs. "20 points from Gryffindor. Now, leave. I have no need for further discussion with the two of you."
"Yes, Sir," the both of you respond in unison.
As you walk out, Sebastian leads the way, not bothering to turn back or wait for you as he heads toward the Slytherin dorms. "Sebastian!" you call out hopelessly, but it isn't until you run in front of him and hold out your hand against his chest that he stops.
"What?" he snaps.
"I'm sorry, okay? I'm sorry. I didn't know that's why you were acting the way you were," you sigh. "I didn't realize that-"
"Piss off," he replies coldly, shoving his shoulder against yours as he continues walking.
"Please," you insist, following after him, "Listen to me, will you? I'm trying to apologize, you jerk!"
"Why?" he asks, stopping in his tracks. "Why are you apologizing?"
"Because," you reply, "I didn't realize. I didn't know that was the case. But I know what it's like to lose someone I love."
"Anne isn't dead, idiot," he grumbles before walking away. You decide not to chase after him again.
***
"Hey, Y/N," Garreth taps your shoulder. You and the rest of your Gryffindor friends are sitting in the Great Hall for dinner, but all you can think about is the events earlier in the day. "You're going to the game tomorrow, right?"
"Huh?" you look at your brother and nod. "Yeah, yeah, of course."
"Who are you rooting for?" Leander asks.
You look at Garreth who passes you a smirk, though he doesn't let anyone else see it. He then makes a kissy face, mocking the way you know Leander feels about you.
"Gryffindor," you laugh, hitting your brother in the chest. "I'm a Gryffindor, why would I cheer for Slytherin?"
"Oh, yeah, well, I know that. I just thought maybe there was a certain Gryffindor you were interested in, is all," Leander blushes, avoiding eye contact with the rest of the table.
"I don't think there is," you answer coldly before going back to your trance. You can somewhat hear the laughter that erupts from the rest of the table at Leander's expense, but you don't pay it much care.
"Oh, that reminds me," Garreth then calls to you, "what happened in the headmaster's office with Sallow? He didn't throw you under the bus, did he?"
"No," you shake your head as you glance past him at the Slytherin table on the opposite side. "But I did cost us 20 points."
"Fucking serious?" Garreth grumbles as he turns his head to face the rest of the Slytherin table.
"What is it, Garreth?" you ask, still looking over as well.
"They're all just fucking pricks," he growls.
Sebastian isn't hard to spot at the table. He's rather tall and has a commanding presence, and that's not even counting his enviously soft hair and strong jawline. He sits, unbothered, as he talks to his friend Ominis Gaunt. When Garreth turns back around, you keep your gaze fixated on the handsome Slytherin. You didn't realize it at first, but the way he treats everyone is almost like a defense mechanism. It's like he tries to gain everyone's love because he's afraid he won't get enough somewhere else.
When the two of you catch eyes, he doesn't smile, but instead, his eyes widen. It's like he's surprised, or maybe he's nervous. Maybe he's embarrassed about what happened in the hallways, or the potions classroom. Either way, you avert your eyes before anything can happen.
"Are you okay, Y/N?" Garreth then asks you softly. "Nothing happened to you, right?"
"No," you reply, your voice in a whisper. "I'm fine. I think I just need some air."
You quickly excuse yourself from the table and head outside. It's a bit colder than usual tonight, but the weather is still quite pleasant. The moon is bright, and there are some clouds scattered across the sky. You decide to walk around the school grounds for some time until you finally arrive back at the courtyard.
It's empty, you note. It must be past curfew already. You're not quite sure how time passed so quickly, but it did. However, before you can head inside, you spot someone sitting on the edge of the fountain. It's Sebastian.
Seeing him makes you hesitate. You don't know what to say, really. You wish you could apologize for being weird earlier in the day, but the last time you tried, it didn't go over so well. Instead, you approach him quietly.
As you get closer, you notice that his cheeks are flushed and his eyes are red. He looks sad, almost. Is he crying?
"Are you alright?" you ask him.
"What?" he responds, quickly wiping his eyes as he looks up at you. "Y/N, what're you doing here?"
"Uh, I'm not really sure," you respond softly. "Mind if I sit?"
Sebastian nods and scoots over slightly, allowing you to join him.
"Is everything okay?" you ask, your eyes glancing towards his.
"Yeah," he nods. "Why?"
"I just wanted to make sure," you answer as you reach into your cloak and pull out a small handkerchief. You then gently hold it out to him and allow him to take it from you.
"Thank you," he says, reaching out his hand.
The two of you sit in silence for a while, not really saying much of anything. "Is there anything I can do?" you finally ask him.
"Not unless you know of a cure for Anne," he scoffs.
"Sorry," you shake your head. "But I do know what it's like to see someone you love be in pain. Two years ago my parents were in Hogsmeade when a large troll appeared and caused some trouble. They were caught in the crossfire. There was nothing I could do."
"I'm sorry," Sebastian frowns.
"It's alright," you shake your head. "The point of telling you that wasn't to have you pity me or anything. It was just to show that I know what it's like. You've got someone to worry about, but you should take comfort knowing that she's still here."
"Do you miss them?" Sebastian asks, looking at you.
"Every day," you nod.
"I know I would, too," he sighs. "If Anne were to-"
"We don't have to talk about that," you shake your head.
"Sorry," he sighs.
"No, it's okay. But it's getting late, we should head back inside," you sigh.
"Y/N," Sebastian suddenly reaches out and grabs your wrist. "Thank you. For sitting with me. And listening."
"No problem."
***
The next afternoon you walk down to the common room where the rest of your Gryffindor friends are dressed in their house's colors. Everyone is chanting about how the quidditch match between Gryffindor and Slytherin is the most important game of the season and that they need to beat Slytherin. Once everyone is ready, you head out and make your way to the quidditch pitch.
When the game is about to start, the crowd is abuzz. They're excited for the game to begin. It's the only time the entire school can be unified and on the same team. But before the game begins, Leander Prewett, dressed in his Quidditch uniform, approaches you with a pale face.
"Leader?" you begin, but before you can ask him why he's not getting ready for the game, he bends over to his left and vomits up whatever he had for lunch.
"Shit," you grimace. "Are you okay? Do you need some help?"
"No, I'll be fine," he shakes his head.
"You don't look fine," Cressida, one of the other 7th year girls, remarks.
"Cress, not now," Leander grumbles. "Y/N, please take my broom to Garreth. He said he's been wanting to use it so figured I'd give it to him since I can't play."
"Yeah, sure, but, uh, you really didn't need to walk all the way out here to give my stupid brother your broom. He's got his own," you sigh.
"Well, maybe I also partially wanted to see you," he smiles.
You chuckle softly. "I'll get this to Garreth. You go back to your room and rest."
As Leander nods, you walk to the side of the pitch toward the Gryffindor locker room. However, finding yourself preoccupied with thoughts of the night before, you enter the locker room and come face-to-chest with a tall, muscular Slytherin. Shit, you mutter to yourself, you've walked into the wrong room.
As you take a step back from the situation that you'd quite honestly love to be a part of in any other situation, you realize that the bare chest belongs to none other than Sebastian Sallow who's only dressed from the waist down. Finding yourself embarrassed, you look up and away from him before apologizing.
"Ah, hey there, Y/N," he calls out to you, grin ever present on his face. "Don't worry, it's not the first time a girl's seen me shirtless. You can look."
You roll your eyes. "Not interested."
"Are you sure about that?" he questions, his tone playful. "Oh, that reminds me, I wanted to let you know how grateful I am for what you said to me last night. You definitely did cheer me up and now I'm ready to kick some Gryffindor ass."
After he speaks, the rest of the men in the locker room erupt in an uproarous cheer. A few of them whistle as they crowd Sebastian, but you can still manage to spot the wink he sends your way before getting enveloped by his excited teammates. You roll your eyes as you walk out. Maybe you shouldn't have taken the fall for him in Black's office yesterday.
***
After returning from your delivery to Garreth, you walk up to the stands where the rest of your friends have saved you a seat.
"What's up, Cress?" you ask, taking your seat beside your friend who is folding her arms over her chest.
"Imelda," she grumbles, "is such a narcissistic bitch."
"What'd she do this time?" you sigh.
"She's the reason why Leander can't play!" Cressida exclaims.
"No way, are you serious?" you question.
"Yes! She gave him some weird potion so he'd get sick and not be able to play. We saw her on the way up to the stands laughing as she drank some kind of pink concoction. When I called her out, she just laughed and walked away," Cressida shakes her head. "It's fucking despicable."
"Oh wow," you reply. But before you can say anything more, the whole crowd shouts in an uproarous cheer. The game is beginning.
As the players fly around, hyping up the crowd before they play, Sebastian's broom stops just in front of where your group of friends happen to be standing. "I swear," you grumble, "this guy is fucking everywhere lately."
Cressida chuckles and nudges you in the shoulder before her breath suddenly hitches. Sebastian, his broom still stopped in front of the section where you are, blows a pink-lipped kiss towards you.
"Oh, Merlin's Beard," she gasps, grabbing your arm and holding it tightly. "He's flirting with you."
"Piss off," you mumble, trying to hide your embarrassment, "He's just an ass."
"He's so fucking cool," Leander shakes his head. You look at him in confusion as he gazes at Sebastian like a lovesick puppy.
"Why are you still here?" you ask with a nudge to his side. "Go home, Prewett!"
Finally, the lanky Gryffindor takes your advice and returns to his dorm room to rest. You're thankful. At least you can finally enjoy the game without worrying about him.
The crowd begins to cheer again when the game starts. Both teams fly around and try their best to score as many points as they can. But about halfway into the game, lightning strikes and the balls begin to act up.
"Think they're going to stop it?" Eric Northcott asks the group.
"No way, they can't stop it now!" Hector Jenkins adds.
"But if they don't, someone could get really hurt," Cressida adds.
That's true, you think to yourself. You're worried about Garreth, especially because he's not even on his typical broom.
Soon, your worry only intensifies as one of the Bludgers begin to act erratically. The crowd turns to panic as it rushes past the fifth row.
"Fuck," you breathe out. "It's headed right towards where Sebastian is!"
"Come on, Y/N, let's get out of here!" Cressida calls out to you.
"I'll be right there!" you reply, watching as they rush off before jumping down to the pitch. In all of the pandemonium, Sebastian gets knocked off his broom and nobody else seems to notice. "Sebastian!" you shout, running as fast as you can to his side. When you finally reach him, his body is bruised and bleeding from the fall. "Hey, Sebastian," you call to him, kneeling beside his body. "You need to get up."
"No," he groans, "I can't. Fuck, get the hell out of here, Weasley. It isn't safe."
"Hold on," you tell him, fumbling around in your clothes for your wand. Then, without another word, you Floo both you and Sebastian out of there. For some reason, the place your brain takes you to is the Room of Requirement.
When the two of you arrive, the room shifts into a sort of medical room. You immediately stand up and rush around for whatever bandages you can find. Sebastian manages to make his way over to a cot where he lets out a deep sigh.
"What the fuck was that?" he grumbles.
"I'm not sure," you reply.
"And why the fuck did you take me with you?" he continues.
"You were hurt and needed help," you retort, pulling out a vial of wiggenweld and some bandages.
"So what? Why did you help me? What happened to hating me?" he questions.
"I don't hate you," you answer. "You're just an ass sometimes."
"Oh yeah?"
"Don't make me regret saving your ass," you shake your head as you lift up his head and place a pillow beneath it. "Now drink."
"Are you serious?" he asks.
"Yeah, what's wrong with that?"
"There are a million things wrong with that," he answers.
"Well, you're not really in the best position to be telling me what to do," you scoff as you place the vial in his hand. Sebastian begrudgingly drinks it as you dab the blood off his head with a damp towel. "See, that wasn't so hard, was it?"
"You're so frustrating," he sighs, relaxing against the pillow as you accept the empty bottle back from him.
"Better to be frustrating than an asshole who leaves you bleeding out in the pitch," you smile to yourself. "Now get up, I'm bringing you to Nurse Blainey."
"No!" he quickly insists.
"No?" you look at him.
"Please," he shakes his head, reaching out and taking hold of your arm.
"Why not?"
"She's going to have a fit about it, and I don't want her yelling at me again," he replies. "I've been there too many times this semester. I don't want the lecture. Especially not with you there. Black will certainly have my head."
"Well what do you want me to do then?" you roll your eyes as you fold your arms over your chest.
"I dunno," he shrugs, hissing in pain when he accidentally moves his shoulder, "but maybe we could just stay here."
"Seriously? You're really going to be a baby and make me stay with you here all night? There's no way," you shake your head.
"Why not? Is it 'cause of before? I meant what I said, Y/N, it's not the first time a girl's seen me with my shirt off," he smirks as he attempts to sit up on his own.
You groan to yourself as you sit beside him on the bed. The two of you talk for a while, mostly about your siblings. You don't argue at all, just talk like genuine friends for the first time. Eventually, you begin to feel tired. It's only natural, considering the events of the day.
"Do you want me to walk you back to your room?" he asks softly, slightly waking you up from your half-slumber.
"Hmm?" you grumble, looking over at him.
"Do you want me to walk you back?" he asks again, a small smile growing on his face.
"Mhmm," you nod, "yeah, but, um, could we maybe wait one more minute?"
Sebastian chuckles as he stands up and grabs you by your hand. You feel suddenly a bit more awake as he pulls you to your feet and allows you to stand so close to him this time without saying anything to ruin the moment. "Come on, let's find the way out of here."
The two of you look, you really do, but neither of you can find the exit. "Are you sure there was a door?" Sebastian asks.
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure. I mean, it's supposed to take you wherever you need it," you shrug. "Maybe there was no door because we don't need it. We just need to sleep."
"Does that mean the room is telling us we should sleep together?" Sebastian raises an eyebrow.
"That's not what I said," you grumble.
"Yeah, yeah, sorry," he chuckles. "But, um, are you okay with staying here?"
"I guess so," you sigh. "There aren't any other options, right? But there's only one cot."
"Don't look at me like that," he shakes his head. "I'm not going to make you sleep on the floor. I'm a gentleman."
"Sure you are," you roll your eyes.
"Oh, come on, Weasley, I thought we were over all that animosity," he shakes his head as he takes a step toward you. "And don't worry, that threat from your brother is clearly engraved in my brain. I won't touch you. Promise."
"I wasn't worried about that," you shake your head.
"Oh, really?" he chuckles. "Good. Then we should probably get some sleep."
With a sigh, you turn away from him and reach down to the hem of your shirt. Before you pull it up, you stop and look over your shoulder.
"What is it?" he asks.
"Stop watching," you insist.
"Oh, right," he laughs, shaking his head as he turns the opposite way to presumably do the same. You quickly take the opportunity to strip down and put on the shirt the room offers to you. It's a long shirt, which is fine. But the problem is that the shirt has no shorts to match. You take what you can get, though, and turn back to face Sebastian.
Your face heats up at the sight, and you hate yourself for it. Sebastian has nothing but boxers on, and he's already lying face-up on the cold floor.
"I won't look," he says, gazing up at the ceiling. "You can join me if you'd like."
"I'm good," you scoff, sitting on the edge of the bed and crossing your arms.
"Okay," he nods, his voice soft.
"Sebastian," you begin.
"Yeah?" he replies.
"Thanks," you whisper.
"What was that?" he asks, a hint of teasing in his tone.
"Don't make me repeat myself, Sallow," you shake your head.
"Alright," he responds. "I'm going to sleep. You should, too."
You don't respond, just lay down on the cot and shut your eyes. However, despite how hard you try, you can't fall asleep.
After what feels like an eternity, Sebastian speaks up. "Y/N, are you still up?"
"Uh huh," you answer, your eyes still closed.
"Can't sleep?"
"Not really," you shrug, opening your eyes and looking at him.
"What's on your mind?" he asks.
"I'm not sure," you tell him.
"Want me to keep talking to you until you fall asleep?"
"That might be a good idea, Sallow. You could bore me to sleep," you scoff.
"Oh, really?" he chuckles.
"No," you shake your head. "Talking to you is actually... kinda nice."
"Wow," he laughs, "you know, I didn't think we'd ever get along."
"Me neither," you answer honestly. "But it's not as bad as I thought, I guess."
"Yeah," he agrees. "I like being friends with you, Y/N. And if you need to talk, I'm here for you. And I won't tell anyone. I promise."
"Okay," you nod.
"And, hey, thank you again for saving me out there. That could've been really bad," he sighs.
"I didn't want anything to happen to you, Sallow," you answer softer this time.
After that, silence befalls the two of you again, but in your mind, the silence is so overwhelmingly loud.
You're not sure what it is, but something inside you forces you to grip tightly onto your blanket and sit up from the cot. You take a few steps and kneel down beside where Sebastian is trying to sleep. He looks over at you, puzzled, but waits to hear what you have to say before making any remarks.
You feel so stupid in your mind, but without a single word, you bend down and press a soft kiss against his lips. After the fact, you quickly pull back, your face hot as the fire whisky you drank the last time Gryffindor won a match.
"Weasley, what was-"
"Sebastian," you interject, "do you like me?"
"I don't know," he replies honestly. "You make me feel so many things."
"Do you want to find out?" you ask quietly.
Sebastian answers by grabbing your hips and pulling you onto his lap. His hands slowly run up and down your body before finally settling on your thighs. When he kisses you, it's hungry and desperate, like he's been holding it back all this time.
"Shit," he hisses as you bite his lip, pulling his hair. "You're a fucking tease, Weasley."
"Shut up, Sallow, and touch me," you grumble, kissing his neck before he has a chance to respond.
"Merlin, you're fucking incredible," he breathes out as his fingers slip underneath the hem of your shirt. "Are you sure this is what you want?"
"I wouldn't be on your lap otherwise," you reply, leaning back a little so he can lift the shirt over your head.
"Fuck, look at you," he growls. "So fucking beautiful."
His hands trail up to cup your breasts, allowing the weight of them to fill his palms. His thumb traces around your nipple, and your head falls back as you let out a soft moan.
"Sebastian," you whisper, gripping his shoulder. "Don't stop, please."
He leans forward and begins kissing down your chest, his lips trailing between your breasts before reaching the space between them. He licks a line from the top to the bottom before gently sucking your skin, earning a small whimper from you.
"Sebastian, please," you beg, pushing your hips down against his. You can feel his hard cock against you, and it drives you wild.
"What's the matter? Impatient?" he smirks.
"You're an asshole," you reply, moving your hand down his warm torso and allowing your fingers to linger above the band of his boxers.
"Yeah, well," he replies, his hands resting on your hips as he pushes his erection up against you. "I just can't help that."
You smirk and kiss his lips once more before leaning back and allowing him to hover above you. "Do whatever you want to me, Sebastian," you whisper against his ear. "I'm yours."
"Fucking hell, Y/N," he curses before his hands grab your sides, pulling your hips against his. He grinds his hips into you, and the friction drives you mad.
"More," you moan, your fingers digging into his shoulders. "I need more, please."
"You're such a good girl," he breathes out. As he whispers words of praise in your ears, you look up at the ceiling and notice your reflection in the glass. Your eyes widen and a shiver runs down your spine.
"Sebastian," you gasp, your fingers curling tighter into his hair.
"What is it?" he asks, his hands still on your hips.
"The ceiling," you mumble, turning your head. "It's reflecting everything."
"I know," he chuckles.
You playfully shove him back as you realize that he must've been watching you this whole time, despite saying he wouldn't.
"That's fucking embarrassing," you scoff as he pulls himself closer to you again.
"Sorry," he chuckles. "I couldn't help myself. I did try my best to keep my eyes off, but I couldn't. You're just too gorgeous.
"I like hearing you say that," you admit quietly.
"I'm glad," he replies. "Now, come here."
You lean forward, expecting another kiss, but instead, he rolls you over. You now lay on your stomach, and he kneels behind you. "Do you have any idea how many times I've fantasized about seeing you like this?"
"Really?" you ask, looking over your shoulder at him while his hands slowly caress your ass.
"Absolutely," he nods. "You drive me wild."
As your face heats up, you bury it into the blanket beneath you.
"Don't be embarrassed," he tells you, leaning forward and grabbing a fistful of your hair. "I want to hear everything. No holding back."
"Okay," you breathe out.
Sebastian's hand trails down your spine and stops right above your ass. "Tell me, have you ever done this before?"
"Y-yeah," you reply.
"Who was it?" he asks.
"Doesn't matter," you shake your head.
"Hmm," he hums before bringing his hand down to slap your ass. "That's not what I asked."
"Sebastian-"
"I'll only ask once more, Y/N. Who was it?"
"Eric," you mumble.
"Interesting," he remarks. "So, is that why he always makes sure to sit near you?"
"No," you answer.
"Did he touch you like this?" he then asks, his fingers slipping beneath your panties, between your folds, and gently circling your clit.
"Ahh, Sebastian, fuck," you whine, trying to push your hips back against his hand.
"Answer me, Y/N," he demands.
"Yes," you nod, biting your lip.
"What else did he do to you?" he asks, his fingers tracing over your wet cunt.
"He-" you stop, a whimper escaping your lips when his fingers slowly pump inside you.
"You're so wet," he remarks, his voice low. "I doubt you could get this wet to just anyone, Y/N. How many times did you fuck him?"
"I-I'm not sure," you stutter as his fingers begin to work faster.
"Oh, you little liar," he shakes his head.
"Twice," you blurt out, and his fingers stop their ministrations. "Just twice, okay?"
"And did he ever make you cum?" he then asks, his breath hot against your ear.
"N-no," you shake your head. "Only-only once."
"Well, we'll see if I can do better than that," Sebastian chuckles.
"What?" you gulp, not quite sure if you heard him correctly.
"I said, we'll see if I can make you cum harder than he did."
"Fuck," you groan, closing your eyes.
"What was that, Y/N?"
"Please, Sebastian," you beg, pushing yourself up on your elbows.
"What do you want, baby girl?"
"I want you," you whine, trying to push your hips back against his fingers. "I want you to make me come."
"Good girl," he chuckles, his other hand rubbing your clit as his fingers continue to pump in and out of you.
"Sebastian!"
"Come for me, princess."
Your orgasm rips through you and causes your legs to tremble. "Shit," you curse.
"Are you alright, baby girl?" he asks softly.
"Yeah," you nod, and you can feel the smirk on his lips as he plants a gentle kiss on your shoulder blade.
"We're not done yet," he reminds you, his fingers slowly moving away from your cunt and toward his mouth. "Turn around."
You watch him lick his fingers, tasting you, and it sends a chill down your spine. "You taste incredible, baby girl."
"You're an ass," you grumble.
"Don't you know how to take a compliment, darling?" he chuckles, his eyes locking with yours as he grabs your ankles. He pulls them apart and kneels between them, his face hovering inches away from your dripping pussy.
"Sebastian," you whisper.
Sebastian hums in response as he sticks out his tongue and drags it up and down your slit. You whimper softly and try to squeeze your thighs shut, but Sebastian grabs them and forces them open.
"Don't be embarrassed, darling," he coos.
"Shit," you shake your head, grabbing the sheets beneath you and fisting them into your hands.
"You're so fucking hot," Sebastian groans, his mouth working fast against your cunt.
"Fucking hell, Sebastian," you cry out.
"What's wrong, baby girl?"
"I'm so sensitive," you shake your head, your hips squirming against his face. "You're making me crazy."
"Good," he chuckles, his hands sliding underneath your thighs and lifting your legs over his shoulders.
The room begins to spin around you, and your mind is lost in a fog. Everything feels like it's happening so fast. The feeling of his mouth and fingers is enough to drive you wild, but his tongue is absolutely insane.
"Fuck!" you scream, arching your back as he slips two fingers inside you.
"You like that?"
"Yes," you gasp, your nails clawing into his skin.
"You want more?"
"Yes, yes, fuck, yes," you whimper, tears forming in your eyes.
"Tell me, baby girl," he smirks, his fingers moving faster, his tongue moving slower, "who makes you feel this way?"
"You," you answer, biting your lip.
"Louder, baby girl. Tell me who makes you feel this way."
"You do!" you yell.
"Again."
"You, Sebastian," you nod, tears streaming down your face. "Only you. You're the only one that can make me feel this way. Please, Sebastian, please."
"Please what, Y/N?"
"Fuck, please don't stop," you cry out.
Sebastian, finally satisfied with your answer, moves his tongue and fingers faster. Your eyes roll back and you can barely breathe. You feel as if you're drowning, and the only thing keeping you afloat is the feeling of his hands on your body.
With a scream, your whole body spasms, and your muscles tighten. Sebastian's fingers slow down and eventually stop, but his tongue continues. He takes his time licking you clean before pulling away. "Mmm, you're so fucking delicious," he smirks.
"Fuck, I hate you," you groan.
"No, you don't," he smiles.
"Shut up," you grumble as the two of you shift your positions.
The next thing you know, Sebastian's standing above you while you're on your knees, holding your hair and fucking your head. You close your eyes and take all of him, moaning against his length.
"Fucking hell, Y/N, the things you do to me," he hisses, his grip on your hair tightening.
You moan against him and swallow him down, gagging a little as his tip hits the back of your throat.
"Shit," he gasps.
Your head bobs up and down his shaft, and his cock throbs in your mouth.
"Fuck," he grunts, "you're going to make me come."
You pull off him and lick the tip of his cock.
"Fuck, such a little tease," he growls, grabbing your chin and forcing you to look up at him. "Don't think that just because we're doing this, I'm going to be nice to you."
"I don't expect you to be nice to me," you reply, smirking as his eyes widen. "But you're not the only one who can tease."
You take his cock into your mouth again, and his hands move to the back of your head, holding you in place. His hips thrust forward and back, fucking your throat.
"God, you're a little slut," he groans, his cock twitching in your mouth.
"Mhmm," you nod, pulling him deeper down your throat.
"Fuck," he hisses.
He pulls his cock out and strokes it quickly, and his come shoots out onto your face. It covers your cheeks and your nose. You make no attempt to open your mouth until he's completely done.
"Damn, Y/N, I didn't know you liked getting dirty," he chuckles. "Go ahead, you can taste it."
You stick out your tongue and lick the tip of his cock. He groans as you clean his shaft.
"Fuck, I could watch you do that all day," he shakes his head.
Once you're finished with him, you pull back and gaze up at his half-lidded eyes.
"Shit, baby girl," he smirks, kneeling down and cupping your face. He leans forward and glides his middle finger across the mess on your face before telling you to open your mouth. Without hesitation, you part your lips, and he pushes his finger in. You suck it, cleaning off the bitter fluid, and his cock twitches as he watches.
"You're amazing," he tells you, kissing your cheek. "Come here."
He guides you to your feet and leads you to the edge of the bed. He sits down and pulls you onto his lap.
"So, what happens now?" he asks.
"I'm not sure," you shrug.
"Well," he begins, "I suppose we should go to bed. It's late, and tomorrow is a new day."
"That's true," you nod. "But you haven't fucked me yet."
"Do you want me to?" he asks, his hands sliding up your thighs and squeezing your ass.
"Yes," you reply, biting your lip.
"Good," he smiles, "because I'm not done with you, baby girl."
The two of you laugh as Sebastian rolls you over. You lay on your back, your head resting on the pillow, and Sebastian hovers above you.
"Are you ready?" he asks, stroking himself above you.
"Idiot, get a condom," you smirk as you push him off of you. "I thought you said I was the impatient one."
"Oh, right," he chuckles, grabbing his wand and conjuring up a condom.
"Hurry up, Sallow," you tease.
"Merlin, you're a bossy one," he groans.
"Yeah, yeah, just hurry," you roll your eyes.
Sebastian slips the condom on and leans forward, placing a soft kiss against your lips.
"Are you ready, baby girl?" he asks, his lips lingering near yours.
"Mhm," you nod, biting your lip.
Sebastian reaches between the two of you and positions his cock at your entrance.
"You're so fucking beautiful," he breathes out, kissing your neck and slowly sliding inside of you.
"Ahh," you whimper.
"Fuck, so tight," he groans, pushing further inside. "You're so perfect."
"Sebastian," you gasp as his cock fills you. "Slowly..."
"Don't worry, darling, I've got you," he smiles, leaning down and capturing your lips in a deep kiss.
His hips move slowly at first, his cock stretching and filling you with every thrust. But as time passes, he begins to move faster.
"More," you pant, "I need more."
"You like that?"
"Fuck, Sebastian, fuck me harder," you beg.
"God, Y/N, the way you say my name," he growls, slamming into you. "It drives me crazy."
Sebastian reaches his right hand up to yours and grips tightly. You look up at him with wide eyes as his thumb strokes the back of your hand.
"Do you feel that?" he asks.
"Yes," you nod.
"I'm so close, baby girl. Fuck, I'm so close."
Your eyes begin to water as you glance down between your two bodies. He's so deep inside you, and it feels amazing.
"Come for me, Sebastian," you whimper, biting your lip and clenching around him.
"Shit, Y/N, I can't believe I waited seven years for this," he pants. "Merlin, and I'd do it again, too, just to get the chance to see you like this. To feel you."
His grip on your hand tightens as he pushes himself as deep inside of you as possible. Your orgasm rips through your body, causing you to cry out.
"That's it, darling," he whispers. "I'm right there. Come for me."
Sebastian thrusts one more time, and you feel his cock pulse inside of you as he comes.
"Fuck," he groans, collapsing beside you. "That's so worth getting hit with Weasley's crucio curse."
"Can you not talk about my brother right now?" you smile as you roll to your side to face him.
"Right," he nods, a chuckle escaping his lips. "Sorry."
"It's okay," you tell him, tracing the lines of his abs.
"That was fun," he tells you. "I do hope that wasn't a one-time thing."
"Yeah," you agree.
"Good," he smiles, placing a kiss against your forehead.
The two of you spend the night talking, and you end up falling asleep in each other's arms. You hate to admit it, but you do enjoy spending time with him... And it's not until the next day that you feel the repercussions of sleeping with a Slytherin.
***
The following morning, you appraoch the Gryffindor table in the Great Hall to a bunch of worried faces.
"Where the hell have you been?" Garreth asks as you sit beside down beside him like nothing out of the ordinary happened the night befoer.
"I don't know what you're talking about," you scoff, reaching for a plate of roasted potatoes in front of you.
"You didn't come back to the room last night," Cressida remarks. "Where'd you sleep last night?"
"Uh," you mutter as you try to avoid the conversation by drinking a large cup of orange juice.
"Y/N," Garreth begins, "where did you sleep last night?"
"Well," you begin, setting your glass down and looking over at him, "I slept somewhere else."
Leander nearly chokes on his apple juice as he realizes the meaning of your words.
"I told you not to do anything stupid!" Garreth shouts.
"And I didn't," you shrug.
"You're unbelievable," he groans, shaking his head.
"Who was it?" Cressida asks you curiously. "Was it Northcott?"
"Couldn't've been him," Leander shakes his head. "He was with us."
"Well if nobody was missing from the Gryffindor dorms then that means..." Cressida trails off. "Y/N! You didn't!"
"Wait, what're you implying?" Garreth intervenes. But before anyone can say anything else, the Slytherin quidditch team approaches where you are all seated.
"Hey there," Imelda smirks at your brother. "How's everyone's breakfast? I hope you're enjoying it since it's the last one you'll be eating."
"What's that supposed to mean, Reyes?" Garreth scoffs, looking up at the girl.
"Nothing," she replies, her smile growing. "But, uh, Sallow has something he wants to give back to your sister."
You've never seen Garreth's head whip around so fast in your life when he realizes what Imelda is implying. When he notices the sorry look on your face he stands up and glares across the table at Sebastian. "YOU DIDN'T!"
"Um, Garreth, let's just go outside and-" you try to reason with him as you grab his hand
"No!" he replies, pulling away from your reach.
"Garreth, please," you beg.
"Not a chance in hell," he scoffs. "I'll fucking kill him, Y/N!"
"I didn't realize it was going to be like this," Sebastian shrugs, his hands tucked into his pockets.
"What did you think was going to happen?"
"I didn't really think about it, Weasley," he answers with a shrug.
"Yeah, that sounds like you," Garreth sneers.
"Listen, man, it's not what it looks like," Sebastian begins, his hands coming up in front of him as if to defend himself for Garreth's inevitable attack. "What I mean to say is, I thought Y/N would have already told you. I, uh, actually do like her."
"You can't be serious, Sallow," Leander speaks up, a frown etched across his face. "There's no way. You're a snake. A vile, evil, despicable snake, and Y/N doesn't belong with a Slytherin."
You, Sebastian, and Garreth all roll your eyes at Leander's comment. "Stay out of this," Garreth grumbles.
"No," Leander insists, stepping closer to Sebastian. "This isn't right. This isn't fair."
"Why not?" you question, turning to him.
"Because... because it just isn't," Leander replies. "He's a Slytherin, and you're a Gryffindor, Y/N."
"What does that have to do with anything?"
"Everything," he shakes his head. "You're our friend. Not his. I won't lose you to-"
Before Leander can say anything more idiotic, Sebastian waves his wand and effectively shuts Leander up with a silencing charm.
"I know what you said, Weasley, and I can understand why you wouldn't want me being with Y/N, but the fact is, she does like me," Sebastian shrugs.
"And why should I trust you?" Garreth sneers.
"Honestly," Sebastian begins, taking a deep breath, "I have no idea, and if I were you, I probably wouldn't. But ask her for yourself."
When Garreth turns to you, your whole body tenses up. How much more embarrasing could this get? You're attracting attention from nearly the whole room and the last thing you want is to be the center of the school's gossip.
"Is he telling the truth, Y/N?"
"Yeah," you sigh, your gaze landing on the ground. "He is. As much as I'd rather not admit it."
"Why?" Garreth asks.
"Because... because..." you shake your head.
Garreth sighs. "Fine, Y/N, if being with a Slytherin obsessed with dark arts and practicing the Unforgivables is what makes you happy, then I can't stop you. Just, promise me that I won't ever have to see the two of you... together."
"Gross," you grumble.
"I don't practice the Unforgivables..." Sebastian says while scratching the back of his neck, as if he's trying to convince himself.
"Yeah whatever," Garreth sighs as he sits back down. "Are you sitting with us or not?"
Sebastian's smirk widens as he sits down across from the two of you. The look on Cressida's face is priceless as she scoots over to make room for him.
"Oh, I'm definitely sitting."
