Hey guys! Uh I felt like I should say something about the fandom

This is gonna be long, sorry!

Heyyyy, sorry I've been so uhhh hardly active online...I've been trying to come back to posting online and stuff just idk it's been a pretty rough several months and every time I think my motivation is back enough it disappears. I'm currently tryna work things out in therapy as a result of how bad certain things have gotten in the last few months, I'm not gonna say what it was but based on my writing with a lot of focus on self harm and suicidal ideation, you can probably guess.

At this point I think I'm about to just not even bother logging into twitter anymore and pretty much use this and ao3 and pinterest and stuff (maybe occasionally instagram idk tho that place kinda sucks). It would probably help me be more active on here tbh since yall seem not really do a lot of the things that make my mh worst XD

Alright, anyway I'm currently editing a few different fics I've been working on for a while, several of them decided to be in the 50-100 page on google docs range whether I liked it or not, so that and my current disasterous working situation is why it's taking a ridiculous amount of time. If I had a functional posting schedule, ig I wouldn't be an ao3 user. I was gonna include a statement in one of them about this, but I decided this needed to be said here first

So I don't think I plan on leaving the dsmp fandom no matter what happens at this point. The average length of interest in a fandom is like what 10 years? Idk I heard that from some yt. If so, I'm approaching the halfway mark with the dsmp, which is insane to think about, and I don't plan on jumping off that train any time soon. The stories were intriguing and the cc's and their characters and music and stuff have gotten me through the lowest points of my life, so it's very hard to forget that.

Even if the cc's turn out to not be great, I still have their characters, and I'm not willing to give up this coping mechanism just yet because I feel like not having one when everything else in my life seems to be going to shit wouldn't be that great

I see it like if you liked a character in a movie and the actor that played them turned out to be bad, would you still like the character? I would.

cc!Wilbur turned out to be a shitty person. His song about being a wanker and a fucking waste of time was in fact spot on. Fuck that guy. I'm done with his stuff but I'm still gonna write his character

There are a lot of things erupting on twitter right now, I'm not sure what's going on and I do Not have the mental fortitude to find out at this point. I can't say I believe everything because after the Dream situation last fall...I'm just holding off my judgement for now. I'll probably go looking once the dust starts to settle but right now it's all a huge mess and everything is up in the air

I can't guarantee anything at this point, but I will most likely continue to write c! stagedduo and most likely draw and crochet them. I do not have another coping mechanism and the brainrot over the story of the dsmp will likely not go away

Uhhh really sorry I keep falling off the face of the earth, but I think I'm back now. I don't know what the future holds, but this is probably gonna become about the only social media i use now and I think i might just make an alt account or something for my other art so i can stop posting on instagram all together hopefully. Everytime i open that app it makes me more sad and then I never get around to opening this

Due to the severity of what I mentioned earlier, I'm just going to say that I'm not feeling like *that* right now, I feel like I'm actually very gradually starting to get out of the not great mental state I've been in for basically since high school, but I'm not gonna let twitter and the potential of social media harassment fuck that up, so from now on y'all are gonna be like 90% of my social media interactions most likely and I'm not gonna let whatever the hell twitter does in the next few weeks take my favorite characters from me.

I love c!Dream and c!Punz. Their dynamic is excellent be it drunz or stageduo. I'm gonna keep writing them.

They look like the cc's but they still very much exist separately of them (irl Dream isn't getting tortured by irl Quackity and Sam or anything lol).

So whatever ends up happening, imma be here most likely. So for those of you who'd like to join me, hey! For those of you who can't take it anymore, I understand.

Oh and for those of you who've been drawing/writing/whatever any cc's who are currently accused or exposed or anything, I encourage you not to delete or destroy your work, you worked hard on it! If you don't wanna look at it rn, put it away for now. If it's character based especially! Don't let the actions of others or the vitriol of twitter take away your favorite characters!

despite two sections clocking in at one sentence each, i had a lot of thoughts about a video game so this one is the normal creeping-up-on-2k-words length

earlier last year a regional gas station chain offered a whopping twenty five cents off per gallon. many terms and conditions applied. the one that made me scoff and delete the app right there at the pump was that location data had to be on at all times. not just when you were using the app or in a geofenced area around the gas stations, all the time. i hate people knowing where i am. i despise my data being sold. do not advertise to me. fuck off.

last year this made me briefly wonder about the loyalty programs i have with the regional supermarket chains, big y and stop & shop. i don't even want to think about whatever instacart was collecting on me much earlier in the pandemic. unfortunately i can choose not to drive as much but i really should not eat less and i do love a loss leader sale. and then i had to move again and forgot about it. earlier this week my favorite data scientists at The Markup dropped a...upsetting article on kroger's data practices, which can include in-store tracking, biometrics, facial recognition, and when shopping on kroger.com: "Third-party trackers send your product page views, search terms, and items that you have added to your shopping cart to Meta, Google, Bing, Pinterest, and Snapchat." did you know they have their own spinoff data company? for why, you might ask?

Experts told The Markup that companies that sell products in grocery stores don’t have much visibility into what happens after their items are placed on shelves. These brands want granular shopping data that only supermarkets have in order to gauge the success of the brands’ products. In recent years, this data has become harder to come by and therefore more valuable.

i try very hard not to be be doom and gloom about tech bc reporting already tends toward the hysteric, and usually there is stuff i can do or a different option i can take to avoid a package of my data being sold and linked to other packages of my data. however, it is unrealistic to leave my phone at home and pay with cash, and financially i can't afford to opt out of these loyalty programs. sucks! sucks real bad! The Markup articles are pretty good at making the american senate take notice, but they are very slow and do not always fully understand tech abuses, bc their average age is sixty fuckin three.

watching

im ticking along in adventure time, in the middle of season six, the last real long season before we get down to twenty and fourteen episode seasons. there has been an amusing string of episodes where finn and jake aren't present or are only present briefly. this show will wander off to tell the most heartrending story about a character you will never see again, and this episode will stick with you for ten years.

ive also been looking at the fandom (i know) wiki page for each episode, bc why not, and it is a very funny fan wiki. a great deal of emphasis on animation errors with the caveats that maybe the miscolored arm of a princess in episode whatever actually means there's two princesses of that kingdom and we're only seeing the second one for the first time now. whenever the show references a classic work, the note in the wiki has the tone of "ugh this weird old thing why is my show making a joke about it". if an episode won an emmy (this show won fifteen emmys btw) it is usually the very last thing on the page bc that's not lore or errors or connections to other episodes why should you care??? either a very specific type of guy or a bunch of young teens wrote this. probably a bunch of young teens that grew up to be a very specific type of guy.

thank u for all ur open world rpg recs, i think horizon zero dawn is the closest thing to what i want but i will probably end up playing Prey first (which has exactly one of the many qualities i want and is not open world even a little bit) bc it is a game i actually own. but im here to say i know im having a depressive episode when im listening to a lot of mother mother and playing f/allout 4. anyway we're back at it again in far harbor, which at least contains the most interesting storytelling in the game. can we all say hello to andre, bethesda's eleventh first gay character?

coming up on this drive-in theater with an incongruous neon heart looming out of the mist and spooky music plus screams from the horror movie trailer that's been playing on loop since the bombs dropped is SO fun. nothing on the mainland is quite this atmospheric. the fog really does heighten the fun of exploration. i know dead money did it first and better but this is less dire than dead money. usually.

also i forgot they're showing a western staring Legally Not Lee van Cleef if u switch the reels. this is not even getting into the delightful enemy encounter at this location bc i have a different location i want to talk about

GOD the MS Azalea (the one screenshot that isn't mine and is from the wiki) is so fun to run around. a rusted out, ripped in half cargo ship with five different sections (guardpost, top of ship, shipping container apartments on top of ship, inner sheltered harbor within ship and floating kitchen/pool table parlor, floating bar and clinic lashed to ship entered by swimming or elevator down from the top of the ship, sheltered harbor between two halves of the broken ship. each of these sections uses vertical space in interesting ways bc the ship is so fucking big. there is a straight up House underneath that boat. and everything feels very lived in, there's clutter and signs of life everywhere. these guys are just vibing with their little stores and their little apartments. a smarter game or a game with more time would have leaned into "you were sent to kill these guys by the townsfolk bc they felt threatened by an unaffiliated settlement" but alas. the trappers on the boat are just xp.

it is very funny that the lighthouse on the south end of the island refuses to load in properly, no matter where i am

this dlc, more than anything else in the game, actually does feel like my choices matter. i do the missions for the mariner and the barricade physically changes. i do enough fairly complex quest chains for enough of the town and they decide they like me enough to go build settlements. seeing the settlement fog condensers off in the distance from across the island feels very different from the mainland, where generally your settlement's buildings don't pop in until you're pretty fucking close.

i really don't care about how big the map is, i want the main game to be this dense and this bold in telling a stories, start to finish, that feel very interconnected and grounded to its location. i am feeling a little conflicted with my playtime, bc i gotta lotta fucking bones to pick with this game, but i am having fun with this dlc. part of it is "what if fallout/the rest of the game was good" and part of it is the depression making any scrap of delight feel weird. so it goes. february will end eventually.

Arcade Research Megapost

What do you mean? I didn't leave the biggest task till the evening before going back to college! I would NEVER do that!

Part 1 - High Score Games

Pacman - Besides Pong, this is the arcade game that defines the medium. Move around a maze, eat pellets, avoid ghosts, eat giant pellets, eat ghosts! From what I understand, once you hit a score of 256 the screen corrupts because of integer overflow or somesuch.

Flappy Bird - While it might have started in the app store, this one's been installed in more laser tag plazas and entertainment centres than I can count. You click to hop a little and maneuver your bird through pipes. I'd even call Flappy Bird a rage game, considering the pixel-perfect navigation you need sometimes. Though I can't fact-check this, I'm pretty sure you fight Mario at the end.

Arkanoid - I used to play this one pretty regularly around 2019, through the secret on Google. (Hint hint: go to the Google front page, search up "play breakout on google" and hit I'm Feeling Lucky). You control a little paddle, hitting a ball up at a wall of coloured bricks. The more you break, the faster your ball goes. You can change its direction by hitting it while moving your paddle the opposite way, and there's probably more maths to it I don't understand. All in all, it's quite fun, and I like how it looks graphically.

Part 2 - Shooter Games

Space Invaders - Here's another classic. A wall of aliens is coming down the screen at you; shoot them before they reach you and your small array of defensive positions. There's not much more to say about it; it's really simplistic, as are most of these games.

Time Crisis - This is a more technically advanced arcade game. The story is better conveyed here; you're some sort of secret agent, sent to a remote country (specifically an old castle) to rescue the daughter of a president. And you're up against a guy who loves knives. (Hold on, this is just RE4, isn't it?) I digress; movement is all done automatically, your character takes up tactical positions and you have to gun down the enemies as they come running at you. Graphically it's quite nice, reminds me of the original MGS. The "time" part of the title comes from the limited time you have to get through a stage, but it can be increased by completing setpieces.

House Of The Dead - I will be honest, I only know about this game because of the godawful Uwe Boll film adaptation. It's a light gun game similar to the last one, but this takes on a horror focus. You're storming a zombie-infested mansion, blasting the undead apart with a hand-cannon. Already I can see improvements from the other rail shooter; you can blow chunks out of your enemies and there's a greater narrative focus with cutscene-like events happening as you play through the missions. I guess the easiest way to phrase it for myself is: if Time Crisis was Duke Nukem, this is Half Life.

Part 3 - Racing Games

Sega Rally 3 - This seems like your basic arcade racer; go in a circle while competing against AI cars. There's not much to set it apart from any other racing games. It controls with a steering wheel, like you'd expect from an arcade game of its genre. I guess you could think of those as the predecessor to driving rigs.

NFS Heat Takedown - On a basal level, this is just another racing game, but it has some improvements from the other one I covered. For one, it looks a whole lot nicer graphically, the announcer has way more personality, there's the nitrous speed-boost mechanic that's commonplace in a lot of racing games now, and you can eliminate other cars from the race by smashing into them, hence the name.

Fast and Furious - I don't have much to say about this one; it's more of the same. However, it is multiplayer, as far as I can tell. One thing I find a little funny is that while it tries to be a hardcore racing game, the players are seated in the most comically undersized, cartoonish, plasticky, RGB gaming keyboard looking, weird proportion having, recumbent bike resembling, unnecessary brake-light bearing, questionably-fitting engine noise making, seat jiggling, self-advertising, internal-combustion contraptions to ever exist.

Part 4 - Fighting Games

Street Fighter - This one I simply had to include. It wouldn't be right otherwise. It's a basic two-player fighting game. There are lots of interesting characters, each with their own fighting style, though some are outright broken. I'm mostly referring to E. Honda, and the fact that he can use his grabby-hands attack while moving. I'm pretty sure Street Fighter was the first of its ilk, which made it pretty unique back then.

Mortal Kombat - I didn't initially think this was an arcade game, but as it turns out, Midway released this pixelated gore-fest on arcade machines first. And the gore really is the main selling point of the game; there's a story about demon-kings travelling between the realms and stuff, but it's not important. From what I understand, most of the fighters were just employees, digitized into the game. The gore is pretty tame compared to today's standards, but I like the edgy and over-the-top approximation of what was considered taboo back then. The kinda blurry edges of character sprites adds to the charm, I think. The later games are weird, with questionable "babyfication" age-regression finishers that seem out of place.

Tekken - Out of the 'big three' of fighter games, this is one I never really knew much about. The main difference is its 3D aspect, with the camera angle changing when you suplex a guy. Interestingly, the camera tracks the characters as they move across the map, something that was definitely missing in the more static, cramped fighting games of yore.

Part 5 - Brawlers/Beat-em-ups

Final Fight - In this game, you're cleaning up the city of gangsters by beating up any in your path, along with beating up the city. You can smash into phone boxes, bins, and anything else to reduce it to scrap metal. Gangsters from the gang "Mad Gear" emerge from houses, walking single-file into your swinging fists. It looks pretty fun, but nothing special. Apparently it couldn't be played in North America. All in all, it seems pretty evocative of the genre; big burly men smashing everything in their path, beating off gangsters and barrels alike, and pounding thugs with postboxes till they explode in your hands.

Captain Commando - This is basically the same game as the above, just in a future setting. It even takes place in the same city. The catch this time is that you're fighting Super Criminals, that are far more powerful than your average unarmed mook. You're still banging out goons and busting crime bosses, just in the future.

Alien Storm - I decided to go for an obscure one for my final entry to this section. Earth is invaded by a swarm of aliens and it's up to a team of hotdog-vendors-turned-commandos to kill them. The various characters use flamethrowers, rocket launchers, and one of the playable characters, a little robot, explodes itself kamikaze-style. The aliens are interesting, Carpenter-esque amalgams of flesh and faces, ranging from gross spiders to snails who disguise themselves under bins and such.

Part ? - Interactive Games

I don't know what this means. Aren't all arcade games interactive? I searched up "interactive arcade games" and got nothing of note.

Sure. First things first, my advice only applies to android, so if you're apple I can't help you much. If you want an adblock for Youtube specifically that is so thorough it can automatically skip sponsor-segments within individual videos: ReVanced is for you. (If you have questions subreddit is here)

Now what I use is Rethink. It's a DNS manager and VPN (I think). It can do a lot of things but in short, it will reveal what's going on under the hood of your phone's internet. Note, because it will be doing a lot of work playing door keeper for your internet, it may slow things down. If you want you can have it ignore certain apps and just let everything through. For example an app that doesn't have ads like Discord. You can turn it off momentarily if it's slowing things down too much or just give Discord permissions to just bypass it.

So. Let's take a look at the home page of Rethink. (below is a decently big wall of text, but i just want to be thorough. I'm willing to elaborate further if asked)

Only thing cropped out is a menu bar along the bottom and the button that turns the app functions on and off.

So top left under apps lets you manage specific Applications and what IPs/Domains they can call.

Top right is universal Rules for domains and IPs phone-wide.

Bottom left DNS lets you pick which DNS you want to use. These can do a lot of heavylifting with website management. It can block a lot of ads already (although it won't catch everything) and even block other websites such as porn should you wish. (I'll explain what a DNS is at the end of the post, but for now, pick one that describes what you want).

Bottom Middle lets you set up firewalls that can be really vigilant on what gets sent to your phone. If you want to fully quarantine the device you totally can.

Bottom right is logs. It lets you see every IP and Domain that communicates with your phone and what app is responsible for it.

So, how do you block ads? Depends. If you want to block ads for a specific app (which is easier) you can do either Logs or Apps. Let's start with Apps.

Here, it shows all apps on your phone, even one's built in and not downloaded by you. You can use the search function and various filters to find what you want. I'll use tumblr for example.

This is what it looks like when you click on the app. Here, it shows every internet domain/IP tumblr has ever contacted in the pass... whenever you used it since you either cleared your logs or downloaded the app and turned it on. Click on a domain and this little page is brought up

You are shown the exact domain and ip the call entails. You can select or deselect Trust or Block. Trust lets the call through no matter what. Block prevents it no matter what. As you can see, you can identify this is an ad domain because it says ad in it. If you don't know if it's an ad you can google look it up and google will tell you if its an ad. As you go through this you'll discover just how many ad services exist. Anyways, I blocked both the domain and the IP. And just scroll through the list given to you and pick and choose.

But what if you keep getting ads phone wide that the DNS nor the pre-existing block list doesn't catch?

Well there's the universal rules. Unfortunately for this app, I don't think there's a quick way to universally block a domain just from the nodes.

This is what it looks like. If you click the little plus button you can add more universal rules to your phone to block (or allow). You can do a specific IP or Domain, or you can wildcard it.

In most computer spaces the character * is the wildcard to be used. if your messing around with funky computer stuff, that is like the universal code for "give me anything and everything." So for these examples, my rules are "block all domains that end with .adsrvr.org or .adsbynimbus.com" These wildcards are important because these domains begin with different things.

Here *.adsbynimbus.com blocks both of these domains.

Of course, you don't need to do this from the outset. My experiences with finicky computer things is that you do as much as you can at the beginning, and then live it with for a certain period of time until it annoys you and you want to make changes, and then you do a little more to clean things up.

To start with, pick an adblock based DNS, and see where the rest of things will take you from there.

*DNS stands for Domain Name Server. It's basically the yellowpages for the internet. Instead of your computer keeping track of every possible Domain to IP combo on the internet, which is absurd, a DNS manages it for you and you only have to remember one IP address. So when you type in something like tumblr.com into your browser, your computer will ask the DNS "give me the IP address for tumblr.com please!" and then the DNS will say "tumblr.com is located here at [32 bit number]" and then your computer will go "Thankyou!" and go to that IP Address.

These DNS that your picking from will look at the domain your computer or phone is asking for and say "Wait a minute! These domains are all ads! I'm not giving this to you!" and send a 403 error to which the app using the ads will go "Oh damn" and move on with its life. This is imperfect because ads are fucking everywhere, but that's the short of it. This isn't getting into other shit like caching. I'm just using this post as an excuse to neglect homework.

YN'S POV:

Tyson and I have been travelling nonstop once again. I have slowly been getting used to it but going across the country all the time is getting to me.

I have been more tired. At first I just played it off as that it was just getting up at odd hours of the night to catch the next flight.

Certain smells that I once loved make me now plug my nose or make me run to the nearest washroom and have my head hanging over the toilet.

Even poor Britt had to change her perfume because the one she wore was making me sick.

But then my boobs started to ache and the odd cravings come on, but I didn't put two and two together.

But I should of known that I was being watched not only by Tyson, but our friends as well as a group of us were having dinner.

Our group consisted ofd Britt and Austin of course. Nick and his wife Ellen, as well as Matt and Dana and Tyson and I.

It was my turn to order. "May I please have the chicken pot pie with a side of chocolate sauce."

The conversation died around me as they turned to look at me. The poor waitress asked me to repeat myself. "Chicken pot pie with a side of chocolate sauce." She wrote down what I said with a queasy look on her face.

I felt a hand on my forehead and moved my head away from Tyson's hand. "I am perfectly fine."

"Are you sure YN? Chicken pot pie with chocolate fudge?" Ellen asked me. I just shrugged my shoulders at her question. "Just have a craving for that."

"A craving?" Dana asked me.

"Yes a craving. Why am I getting all these questions? Can't I just enjoy something?" I was getting upset and I could feel the tears threatening to fall.

"It's okay YN, look why don't we go out and enjoy the nice cool air." Britt said as she stood up. I agreed and the four of us left the men at the table.

"YN, please do not take this wrong way, but when was your last period?" Dana asked me once we were outside.

I thought on it. I even pulled out my phone to look at the app I use. The three women watched as I scrolled back a few months.

"About three months ago." I said, finally realising what the hell was going on with me.

"I gotta get a test." I said as I looked up and down the street.

"Okay, according to Google, there is a store one just down the street. I'll go and grab it." Britt said as she ran down the street.

"You okay YN?" Ellen asked me.

"Well not really. I mean this isn't the most perfect timing to have a child with everything going on but other than the fact that I have a crazy ex-boyfriend running around, yeah I am fine."

It didn't take long for Britt to come back. She handed me the small bag. "I'll do it soon. I know they are probably wondering what is taking us so long."

The four of us went back inside, Tyson pulling me into his side and kissing my temple.

Our food didn't take long to come out after we sat down. No one looked at me at I drizzled the chocolate sauce all over the chicken pot pie.

Tyson and I went back to our hotel room and I rushed to the washroom. I saw that Britt grabbed three, so I pulled out the tests and read through the instructions on each box.

It has been awhile since I took one of these. I used to take them all the time in highschool whenever the two of us forgot a condom before I started to take birth control and even once or twice after.

I finished peeing on the sticks. I placed them on the counter and I waited. "You okay in there love?" Tyson called through the door.

"Yeah, I'll be out soon." I called back as I sat on the side of the tub, never once taking my eyes off the timer on my phone.

I ignored each and every message that came from Britt, Dana and Ellen. I will tell them later.

When my alarm went off, I took a deep breath and grabbed the tests to see what they said.

Each one was positive.

My whole body started to shake as I started to cry silently. This isn't the time for a child. Not with what is going on. But will a time ever be right with the two of us?

But as I laid my hands on my stomach, I calmed down a bit. I started to think about what our child would look like.

I was pulled from my thoughts as he knocked on the door once more. Time to tell him. No point on putting this off.

Kenny Omega's POV:

I am starting to get worried about her. She has been in the washroom for awhile now. Is she okay?

All through dinner she was acting strange and when the four women left the table to go out, I noticed Matt and Nick looking at each other.

"What? I asked them.

"Nothing. You will know soon enough I am sure." Matt said.

"What do you mean?"

"Not our place to say man." Nick said.

"Since when?" Austin questioned.

"She been moody lately? Throwing up? We can clearly see the peculiar food cravings." Nick said.

Then it hit me. "You think she is pregnant?"

"We have kids man. We have seen this time and time again." Matt said as he laughed at me softly.

The subject changed and I tried to engage in the conversation but what if she was pregnant?

We haven't been together long. We still have him to deal with. But first, I need to see how she is doing if she is infact pregnant.

The washroom door opening brought all my attention to her. "You okay baby?" I can still see the streaks on her face.

"Yeah, I'm great in fact. Tyson I got some amazing news to tell you." She held up the positive pregnancy tests and I felt my own eyes start to tear up.

How do you do your rips for LN? You make them look so good. I wanna learn so I can make them for another game I play!

I read a tutorial by askr. You can find the Drive link to the tutorial on their page if you /search/ for rips. I don't want to drop a direct link. It'll help a lot. There are two methods I can explain. I'm on Windows 10. One is using NinjaRipper https://gamebanana.com/tools/5638. This tool is no longer updated, but it works on Nox 6.2.2.0 for LN at least, and the emulated Android device is default, so Android 4.4.2 is the version you're launching, or at least I launch. After ripping search for the DDS file extension and get them all out to the same folder. I batch convert the DDS into PNG via file globbing using ImageMagick https://imagemagick.org/. The command is: magick mogrify -format png *.dds (Of course do that after navigating to the directory you placed the .dds extractions, so: cd C:\Users\User\Documents\Images\etc\ ) (I don't know how to survive lots of image files without ImageMagick, it's a secret standard of batch image processing, it even has a rival spinoff or fork called GraphicsMagick that claims to be better, wow, image processing drama) Besides that, this tool Noesis was recommended as a game image conversion tool https://richwhitehouse.com/index.php?content=inc_projects.php , and has the same quality as ImageMagick. There are lots of ways to convert DDS → PNG so I think getting NinjaRipper to work is the hardest. Also, there is a successor, NinjaRipper 2, that I would like to try, and you can BUY the tool here. https://www.patreon.com/ninjaripper. My laptop has poor and slow processing power, like, 2 cores, but it gets by. A single rip takes up to 15 minutes for me. It's nice that it rips in order which is helpful for arranging the individual textures together.

Yup, here's an example of a bad rip. Not every texture displayed was ripped. My educated guess is the animated background particles (I had animations enabled) caused the ripper to overwrite identically named texture files between display from frame to frame over the few second duration that the ripper was executed. The texture file names indicate the order of the layering. The flowers Tex_0019 were laid on top and loaded final. This is one thing helpful about the NinjaRipper method, compared to nefarious method #2. The second method involves File Manager+ on the same Nox emulator, possibly any unless it is a later Android version that File Manager+ can't handle. Download the app on Google Play or hm, APKPure possibly but it won't launch on Android 4 for the Nox version I was talking about earlier. It's good to know about APKPure. Anyways. The Nox emulated Android device is rooted, and what happens is File Manager + requests superuser access. Go into the system data.... and you will find... /res/ as well as /resupdate/ . There was a drama about it a year ago because this information caused game leaks (the thread is helpful), and the texture files have since been encrypted and PVRTextool doesn't read the .ktx files. KTX is just a container and the game actually stores the images as compressed png images, not in DDS format. There is a decoder that decrypts the scrambled png data, and that tool is for LN itself. Maybe your game texture files won't be encrypted yet and you can do a raw file extraction only. I couldn't use File Manager+ to access system on Android 9 when I attempted extracting JN game data some months ago, and that's because of recent security updates regarding scoped storage. Or maybe it was because of Nox being finicky with a beta version which, for Nox, Android 9 is. Solid File Explorer File Manager, the trial version you can use for 1 week, will successfully do that file extraction for you if your game requires the a more updated Android version. I can also say that in the system data files there are some unencrypted GIFs that are housing emojiis!

I didn't explain perfectly on purpose, I hope this helps.

Hey it’s JayJayJayJay!

So classes started and I'm already stressed out. Not that that's am excuse my babies, no no, I am complaining. My classmates (I'm giving them too much credit they’re strangers to me as I am to them) and I have already been disciplined by the new security guard over coming to class ten minutes early. Yes. For coming early. He lectured us twice. Can't wait for tomorrow I am really excited (bt w that was sarcastic).

Not to mention my 1300 page book I have to print for my class. And the other 800 page book I'm also supposed to print. Like, you want me to print that many pages? In thia economy? It should be illegal. I did look th3 800 pages one online, apparently ot costs close to 80$ which okay you know what I would rather print it.

Also, my idiot cousin asked me if I was wearing makeup after my shower, because I had black underneath my eyes...I checked and those were eye bags. I have eye bags.

So anyway, stress out of the way, let's talk games.

Remember the shadow curse mystery games I talked about? Well, a few weeks ago, they released the seventh game! It’s called Escape from the shadows.

Also I would like to apologize for not seeing the date right, it came out in August not September. I’m sorry.

I was excited to okay this game because it wrapped every storyline’s plot and you understand the curse better.

Detective Ren Larsen meets Bastian’s wife from the first game, another shadow. She requests him to bring a person back from the afterlife.

Now, any normal and boring detective would immediately send Carissa to a mental hospital. But because Ren isn’t a normal detective, he believed her.

She tells him all about what happened and the curse that took Bastian. Carissa tells Ren that the only way of finding him is where it all started: in a cabin in the woods, although she has no location of the place. And she tells him about the place in the afterlife called ‘Penumbra’, and again, she knows nothing about it.

(I thought it was called Limbo. Or is that between life and death? I’ll google it later)

And remember, if Bastian isn’t saved, he becomes a shadow forever.

The game starts with Detective Ren going to Bastian and Carissa’s empty and abandoned house. Because why would you live somewhere that was the reason it took your husband right?

Fun fact I enjoyed in this, you play three characters: Detective Ren, Bastian, and Laia. It alternates between them and you’re able to play in different locations and play so many puzzles.

Also, I had to use the hint button a fee times but I didn’t mind it.

The ending was a huge plot twist and it actually made sense.

Some of my favorite moments during the games:

- The tiny black cats you see everywhere, although I never knew what I could do when I found then all.

- The plot was interesting and each game has a sliver if it so it never dies, and it all connects in the seventh game.

That’s all I have on this game!

I’m currently playing a few games to see if I’ll play them long-term. Here are the names and what I thought the description of them are:

désiré: currently playing. graphic things in the game, couldn’t play it in front of anymore cause of it. but I really liked storyline. I’m going to play it more and see when I can finish it.

a diary of darkness: too many ads in the middle of the game. trying to use objects to make other items work but it wasn’t working.

moth lake: demo was good. didn’t realize it was a demo at the time. sad it was only a demo. music was terrifying and made my heart beat fast. loved running away from the thing.

Unsolved: so many mystery games merged into one app where you download the game you want to play directly in the app. so upset over the hints that take 3 hours to get again. even if i wanted to watch ads you’re allowed to watch one add taking two hints and that’s it. the hints show you where you need to go one step at a time so i waste a lot and it wasn’t even in the right place sometimes. i hate using energy as a means to continue playing the game. it takes a day to recharge to play an hour of the game. the thing is, it’s such an amazing concept but the negatives outweigh the positives for me.

so im google doc ing, i've been taking character lists off the wiki, but that is not fully up to date on some pages so gonna double check those against the apps. and then i think we might want something like 1 row per episode? and ppl can fill in cells certain colours if they have particular attributes for that episode, eg with/without music, with/without paid scene, WHICH paid scene. I think trying to get each CHOICE is uh. impractical.

I think multiple recordings is desirable, even if we can't garantee diff options, for backups, different reading settings! I personally can't handle reading on the app without the dark background behind the text, but it seems from screenshots on here that turning it all the way off is a pretty popular option!

but yeah ideally one cell per person recording might keep it nice and simple, can get a nice quick visual of what could do with more plays/versions

ooh maybe i could even coalesce them into a season overview... hm might be beyond me, i'm not much for excel, but maybe google sheets can take a function or two...

Universal took Tremors from its creators after 30 years of work.

TL;DR After 25-30 years making the series, Brent Maddock, Michael Gross, Nancy Roberts, Ron Underwood and S.S. Wilson were kicked out so Universal Studios could make more money off the merchandising before the Tremors copyright expires in 2025.

*****MAJOR SPOILERS**** This will make you sad, angry and frustrated. But there is hope. #StampedeTremors

Soooooo, ever since I blew up and sidetracked a post about David Fincher's Queen Biopic with Sacha Baron Cohen as Freddie Mercury discussing the Tremors 7 ending, I've done some more research on the whole thing. The Graboid hole for this goes deep.

Michael Gross didn't want it.

“There’s a part of me that feels that Universal Home Entertainment might’ve had enough of Tremors. The suggestions that were made in the course of this [movie] made me think maybe they’ve had enough. They came to me and said, ‘What if we ended it at 7?’ and I said, ‘Whatever you choose to do, I’m good with that.'” “That being said, The door is still open for an eighth Tremors. It may seem unlikely by what people see on the screen, but it is possible. There could be an eighth. And if there were, and if it were an interesting story, I would be up for it because Burt is always a great deal of fun. It would depend on his physicality. How much they want me to do. If it’s in another two years, I’ll be 75 years old. So I will continue to hope and pray that I stay in shape, to do what is asked of me – if it is asked of me.”

AND Universal even killed off any ambiguity that he fought for.

"We shot it both ways, where everybody's mourning Burt, and he climbs up over the cliff and looks at all of them in mourning and goes, 'Jesus, God, I'm not dead. And he's really pissed off at them. It's like, 'How would you possibly think...?' But he's bloodied, just he's a mess. He looks like he's been through an earthquake, crushed by a house, but he's alive. And he says, 'You idiots. Of course, I'm alive.'" "They decided it just had this punch. Frankly, I thought to myself -- I didn't express it to them, but I thought to myself -- 'Maybe Universal's getting a little tired of this franchise.' Because this wasn't my idea." "I said, 'I can live with this. Because they came to me. They said, 'Look, you've been doing this so long. What do you think?' And I said, 'Well, as long as we kind of leave the door open.' I mean, I can kind of see an eighth film where it opens with Burt in a hospital bed, in a full body cast and saying, 'I survived.' He could hardly move a muscle. And maybe eight is...if I had a concept for eight, it would be Burt horribly injured, but in a motorized, weaponized wheelchair that has rocket mounts on the side and can leave an oil slick behind like James Bond's car. So nobody can chase him." "I always said, if Kevin Bacon or Fred [Ward] or Reba [McIntire] or anybody [wanted to return], I'd be there in a minute. Just because one, I love Burt, but I always thought of him as this guy kind of on the fringes, and I just came to the fore because everybody else walked away."

While Universal ignored how Michael Gross was setting up his son Travis Welker to pick up his torch (Which I'm give or take on Jamie Kennedy yet he brought a Grady-like optimism to the shittier of the series.)

After 7 movies and a TV show, nothing more than a spit in the face for the man who carried a franchise. Then when they do the montage at the end, we get clips of Hiram Gummer but NOTHING of Burt Gummer from the TV show. It's 13 episodes of Burt in Tremors that's longer than all the movies combined but yet they don't even include it in the ending montage while including his dead grandpa.

Same with the original creators. Did you know Stampede Entertainment (Brent Maddock, Nancy Roberts, Ron Underwood, and S.S. Wilson) were working on Tremors for 25 years and even had the 5th one written, "Thunder/Gummer Down Under".

Then were told to sit on it for 10 years before Universal eventually told them to eat dirt? That's gotta hurt. It hurts me and I'm not even connected to these movies. All that work down the drain just because of someone's say so. And for no reason. Well not exactly....

Universal knows fans want Tremors merch. I mean, look at how they took #BurtGummerDay from @BabyFarkMcGeeZax. And they want ALLLLLL of that merchandising money. With none of it going to Stampede because it would give them leverage. Not to mention they don't want anyone else getting the idea to make cute monster toys before they can roll out their own line.

Half a billion dollars... completely untraceable. I've tried. Emailed the numbers people and they can't tell me anything unless you pay $50 a film to see the numbers. Which makes me ask, who paid for the numbers on 1,5, 6, & 7? And why only what they made? Not their cost. Same for the numbers on 2, 3, & 4. Why numbers on the cost, but nothing on what it made? It seems weirdly targeted to make it look like the Stampede Entertainment ones only cost money but made nothing.

Then when you find out that the copyright to Tremors will revert to its creators after the 35 year mark, which makes that date 2024-2025 since Tremors was filmed in '88-'89 but released in '90.....

Wellllllll some things start to add up. Especially when you consider it's Universal. They already know about owning copyrights for things long out of due. Ask Dracula, Frankenstein and the Wolfman. Or Nintendo when Universal tried to sue them because Donkey Kong was too similar to King Kong.

Ask Stampede (S.S. Wilson) yourself. They have a Question and Answer page right on their site.

Like did you know you can't find ANY official Tremors merch? But you CAN find tons of fan-made creations. Give it a Google. They don't even list Tremors on the Universal website. Go ahead. Ask them. I try weekly. No responses ever.

Hi! I've got a writing ask, here it goes! I've had the same story in my head for about four years, and I just can't get it to paper... I keep changing things and now I've got at least 7 different Google docs, each with two pages of writing at most... Any advice on how to organise my thoughts and write more than two pages, and maybe eventually finish a first draft? Currently, everything is a chaotic mess 😬

Hello! I feel this in my bones because I have a post-apocalyptic WIP that I’ve been working on for like 9 years that just won’t go. So, I do have some advice, but maybe take it with a grain of salt because I STILL haven’t made that story work.

My first suggestion is around organization. I find it so much easier when I can have all my thoughts in one spot. I use an app called Milanote – it’s available online, as a phone app (at least on IOS, not sure about Android, but seems likely), and, if you have a Mac, it’s definitely available for Mac desktop. It’s meant to organize work projects, but it works great for compiling writing stuff. You can add photos, links, notes, so much, and all in one place. There is a paid version, but the free version has been more than enough, with tons of space.

As for getting a first draft out, I have a few things I try. First, remember that your first draft does not have to be good. I’m a perfectionist, and I know that’s such a hard pill to swallow, but it’s true. Just get the words down, even if they sound wrong. You can always change it. That’s the most important thing. If you’re writing at all, you’re golden, even if it feels like pulling teeth.

When I’m trying to write something, and it just won’t come out, I do one of three things (or all three, depends how bad the block is!).

First, I just write. I write anything. Even if it’s pointless notes. I saw a writing tip on tumblr once (can’t remember who, so I can’t credit, but it’s not mine), where it advocated writing things like this (this is an actual example of what I’ve done, for my recent unilock fic):

“Unilock - Sherlock and John snippets. Halloween party super wasted, johns girlfriend leaves? Sherlock super drunk waiting in line or something, sees John is drunk and tired. It’s in Sherlock’s flat/dorm so he drags John back to his room, shoves him into bed, tells him to sleep. He passed out beside.

John wakes up with a big hard on, rolls over, finds Sherlock, they start making out in the dark, johns eyes closed doesn’t really realize who it is until he’s like

It was Sherlock. He was kissing Sherlock. And Sherlock was kissing back.

Rolls them over and straddles Sherlock and starts kissing down his neck. Sherlock is writhing and moaning and then the fog of johns head clears and he’s like, leans down, puts his mouth just above Sherlock’s”

I wrote that on my phone at like 2am, when the idea popped into my head. If I’m stuck but I know what the idea is, roughly, I’ll do this until it starts to flow. The neat thing here is, while you’re writing those messy note things, it usually turns into writing, because the scene starts to make sense and form in your head. It’s very cool.

Second, if I really can’t make the story come, I give it space. Work on something else. Let it fester and grow in the back of my head, and, when ideas inevitably come, I jot them down with my other notes (usually on that milanote app), so I can collect it, or in a word document. Even if you’re not actively writing, you’re still working on the story, and taking some distance and letting your brain work it over can be so helpful to figure out where you want it to go, how you want it to sound. Don’t force it if it really won’t come. I recommend carrying a notebook or something you can jot your ideas in when they happen – I use the notes app on my phone, because it’s seamlessly synced with my laptop.

Lastly, something I’ve done is if I can’t find the beginning, I will write a scene or something I KNOW will happen – or very close to happening. Sometimes that’s enough to pull me back into the story, and get the gears moving. The beginning is just that, the beginning, and it’s not the entirety of the story. If you can’t write the start, that’s fine, write what you can. Write what made you excited for the story in the first place. Write a scene with the characters, even if you know it will never happen in the actual story. Anything to get you back into the world you’re creating.

Also, and I’m not sure if what you’re writing is fan fiction or original fiction, but read what inspired it. Read similar works. When I write certain genres of fan fiction, I read stories based around the same trope or plot. If I want to write angst, I read angst, if I want to write fluff, I read fluff. If I want to write horror original fiction, I read Stephen King and Birdbox, and if I want to write Sci-Fi, I read Anne McCaffery and I read The Martian. Surround yourself with what you want to write, and it will trigger inspiration.

And, when you feel like writing, just write. Remember, you will always be your own worst critic, and write what makes you feel good.
