The Structure of the Infinite Realms
This is an updated version of This old prompt I did a while back.
...
So! The Infinite Realms are not just limited to the Afterlife. In fact, the Afterlife is just a single section of the Realms, and Each Realm is ruled over by their own Kingdom with their own Godly Rulers.
Lets give an Overview of a few of the Realms:
The Far Frozen: The Far Frozen is a Realm inhabited by Yeti's, who are Pacifists by nature. Their sole focus is to develop their medical practices so they can help as many people as possible. They are rules over by the Ice God, Frostbite, a kind and just King who uses his eons of experience to help those in need. The Far Frozen are well liked by all Kingdoms in the Infinite Realms, and have very few enemies.
The Medieval Isles: The Medieval Isles are a very recent addition to the Infinite Realms, and resembles the Earth Sterotype of a Fantasy Land. It is inhabited by many different races, from Elves to Dwarves to Humans. It was previously Ruled Over by a Draconic God known as the Tyrant King Aragon, before he was overthrown by his sister, the Kind Queen Dorathea with the help of a Sir Phantom. It does not have many Enemies among the Realms, but the Fae Wilds to seem to resent that some Elves live there as opposed to their original homeland.
Olympus: Olympus is the Realm of the Greek Gods, home to all the Gods who exist in the World and used to exist. It is ruled over by Zeus. It used to be a pretty major Political Powerhouse in the Realms, but after Ares went Rouge and killed most of their Top Gods, they lost a lot of Power.
Themyscira: After the Amazon's split off from the rest of Greece, they formed their own Kingdom with Hippolyta as the Godess Queen. It exists simultaneously in both the Realms and Earth. This Kingdom is well respected, but not as old or as large as some of the others. It has about the same Political Power as Olympus currently does, if not a little less.
The Nordic Lands: This is a Realm inhabited by the Norse Gods and all their peoples. It is not ruled over by a single Race of Gods, and is split into many different Warring Factions. One is the Aesir, Ruled over by King Odin. Another is the Vanir, formerly ruled over by Njord, but now ruled by his son Frey. There are also the Lands for the Fire and Ice Giants, and so on. They hold a good amount of Political Power in the Infinite Realms, but tend to stay Neutral in most cases.
New Genesis: This is the home of the New Gods, a race of Gods who is far younger than the others. They are ruled over by High Father, one of the surviving Old Gods, and the father of many of the New Gods. They are a fairly old and powerful Kingdom in the Realms, holding much Political Power.
Apokolips: This is a Realm filled with almost exclusively Demon's. It is ruled over by the God of Evil, Darkseid, and his Court of Minor Gods. It is an Extremely Agressive and even hostile Kingdom in the Realms, but holds itself back from attacking it's fellow Godly Kingdoms in fear of Retribution. They rarely interact with the other Kingdoms or discuss political matters in Meetings, but they are still a Kingdom not to be trifled with.
The Fae Wilds: This is the Realm that is the homeland of all Faeries and such creatures, like Elves and Gnomes. It is ruled over by the Fae Gods, Oberon and Titania, who use their cunning to obtain a good standing among the other Realms and maintain a good amount of Political Power.
The Spirit Lands: This is the Realm inhabited by mostly Nature Spirits, such as Nymphs and Fire Sprites. These lands are ruled over by 4 Elemental Kings, among which are Vortex and Undergrowth. These Lands are a sort of Middle Point in terms of Political Power, not too much but not too little. Although their image has been damaged by the Impulsive personalities of a few of their Rulers.
The Miracle Lands (Miraculous Ladybug): This is a Realm inhabited by a race of Gods that represent Conceptual Ideas, known as Kwami's. They are ruled over by the King and Queen of their Lands, Tikki and Plagg, the concepts of Creation and Destruction. The Miracle Lands are one of the oldest and most powerful of the Kingdoms of the Infinite Realms, and hold some of the most Political Power in the Infinite Realms.
The Ghost Zone/The After: This was what I really made this post to do. To explain my Headcanon for how the Ghost Zone worked in the grand scheme of things, the rest was just context.
The Ghost Zone is the collective Afterlife of all the other Realms, with Major Regions of the Realms dedicated to the different Kingdoms that hold a claim to the Afterlife.
There are Large Regions of the Realms dedicated to containing the Afterlives of the Godly Realms, like the Underworld for Olympus, or Valhalla/Vanaheim/Hel for the Nordic Lands. (The Norse actually have a shocking amount of Territory in the Ghost Zone, many joke that it's because Odin and Pariah Dark liked eachother due to how similar they looked.)
Each of the Regions is ruled over by that Pantheon's own God of the Dead/Death.
Hades rules the Underworld, and commands the different sections like the Fields of Asphodel, the Fields of Punishment, Elysium, and even Tartarus to some degree.
Plagg rules the Miraculous After (the Kwami's are not very creative with names). This is an Afterlife exclusive to the Holders of the Miraculous, as well as those who use Miracle Magic without having a Miraculous, like the Guardians. Also just the followers of the Kwami's (they have a small following)
The Norse have many Rulers for their many Afterlives. Hel rules over Hel, Freya rules over Vanaheim, Odin rules over Valhalla, and even Rán has her own tiny section for drowned souls. Plus a few more small sections.
The Acropolis is the Personal Afterlife for the Amazonians, and only answers to the Queendom of Themyscira. Pandora was chosen as the new Goddess of Afterlife when this was decided, and Acsended to Minor Godhood.
And there are many more, too many to list.
All the Rulers of the Afterlives defer to the Ruler of the Ghost Zone, who holds the most Power among the Gods of Death, as basically their Landlord. That used to be Pariah Dark, but after he went insane and had to be sealed away, the Ghost Zone fell mostly to Anarchy.
While the Afterlives managed to maintain stability due to having their own Rulers, the large regions between the Afterlives did not, and Rouge Spirts began to stake their claims to small plots of Land called Haunts. The most common among these were Ghosts, but there were some Fae, Spirits, and some smaller Gods (for some reason, some of the Kings of the Spirit Lands liked to use this Area as a playground to do whatever they wanted with no consequences).
It took Millennia, but eventually Pariah Dark was released from his Prison and then Usurped by a Young Godling named Phantom. Phantom then proceeded to bring the Realms under control, maintaining a few of the newer customs thay had appeared in the wake of Pariah's Imprisoning like Claiming Haunts, but otherwise ending the Era of Anarchy in the Realms.
The Ghost Zone is the Oldest, and most Powerful of the Kingdoms of the Infinite Realms. It holds Extreme Political Power, and has the favor of many different Realms. It's hard to not have that when you are an integral part of the Balance of the Godly World.

Elven soulmates - Astarion x Elf!Tav - Headcanon
I listened to one song and for some reason it screamed Astarion x Tav at me. This man is really ruining my life 😅
Anyway… the song was ‘IDK you yet’ and I just thought about the two of them being soulmates or something like that and then I found a thread on https://www.enworld.org about elven relationships and someone mentioned soulmates which got me searching and I found this page https://www.realmshelps.net/charbuild/races/elf/leaf.shtml where is mentioned that elves can find someone they call their thiramin which should mean soulmate in elvish language.
Here’s the part from the https://www.realmshelps.net :
Upon reaching adulthood, elves continue their sexual explorations. Eventually, though, each discovers that his heart has developed a capacity for lasting and exclusive love. Like most other important things in their lives, elves describe this in mystical terms. They believe that a person's spiritual progress is unknowingly intertwined with that of another. This soulmate is called a thiramin. Upon meeting his thiramin, an elf's heart fills with passion and certainty. Ninety-nine times out of a hundred, the other party is felled by the same feeling of immediate and eternal devotion. (Though rare, an unrequited feeling of thiramin is always disastrous, bringing centuries of wrenching heartbreak. Sufferers often commit suicide or succumb to the temptations of evil.) Elves almost always feel thiramin for people they meet for the first time: In other words, visitors from other communities. Intermarriage between communities strengthens the bonds of communication between settlements, allowing them to quickly band together against the armies of evil that march across the land.
Now… You can imagine what that did to me, when I thought about the idea of Elf Tav knowing Astarion before he was turned into a vampire so… here’s some headcanons. Suffer with me.
Tav and Astarion met in Baldur's gate. Tav being new to the city. Young elf exploring the world outside their home.
Maybe they met in an art gallery or a tavern or some other place… that’s up to you, but when their eyes met, they immediately knew the other one was their thiramin. Heart beating wildly as they smile at each other.
They start dating, of course. Trying to get to know each other and spend as much time together as possible.
I think that Tav would call Astarion their star… or maybe even ‘my starry night’
Astarion would call them ‘my moon’ (idk, I just love the idea of them using moon and stars as pet names)
Or… inspired by Game of Thrones - Astarion would call Tav ‘my sun and stars' while Tav would call him ‘the moon of my life’
Maybe they dated for a year or two, thinking about buying a house together.
But then Astarion was beaten ‘to death’ by the Gurs.
Tav could immediately tell that something was terribly wrong. The connection they felt with Astarion severing and sharp pain piercing through their heart. Panicked, they tried to find Astarion, going to his home but they already came too late.
Their blood turned into ice when they saw the mercenaries from the Flaming Fist already around his home. Seeing them carrying an awfully pale and beaten body of Astarion. (I don't remember if it was mentioned if Astarion lived in a Lower or Upper city before he was turned, so I chose a Lower city 🤷🏻‍♀️) (Also, not sure how and where exactly were he turned so I hope this is fine)
After a few days, Tav still couldn’t comprehend what truly happened. They felt just… empty. As if every color, every piece of happiness was ripped away from their soul. Not even able to visit Astarion’s grave because of that.
When Tav's family found out, they came to them, taking them to their homeland, because they knew how bad losing your soulmate could end for an elf. Tav fell into a deep grief and depression that lasted almost 100 years, doing some questionable things here and there until they started to function again.
On the other side - Astarion was beaten by Gurs but his final death came from Cazador, the change itself working just like if he truly died. His connection to Tav is severed and the shock of his change into a vampire erases all memory of them from his mind.
And then the 200 years of torture begin. Astarion doing anything he could and needed to do for survival. Flirting and luring victims to Cazador. He was good at it, great even, but something always felt wrong.
Well, everything he did for Cazador was wrong, but touching another person, sleeping with them, and whispering words of love to them seemed wrong for another reason he couldn't understand. It was as if his subconscious was always trying to tell him something, but he couldn't say what.
There was just always something wrong with the victims. Wrong eye color, wrong tone of voice or even their pet names they sometimes used for him.
Is he missing something? Someone? Longing for the embrace of a specific person that is unknown to him.
He always blamed his vampirism for this feeling. Thinking that’s just how it is. The feeling of wrongness and emptiness residing in him for the 200 years of his unlife.
Until the Mind Flayers and Nautiloid.
But back to Tav:
After a hundred years of grief, Tav finally started to get better. Diving into learning the profession/class they have chosen. Trying to enjoy life as much as they could, but the emptiness never fully disappeared. As if part of their soul was still gone.
They even tried to date, pressured by their family to at least try, but when their new partner tried to kiss them… they just couldn’t do it, dull pain spreading through their body and guilt flooding their mind. They immediately break up with the person and decide never to find a partner again.
But apart from that, they were relatively happy. Another 100 years slowly drifting away, the memories of Astarion remaining, if a little faded.
Until the Mind Flayers and Nautiloid.
Game plot:
Tav was walking with Shadowheart and Gale when they heard someone call for help.
Of course, they immediately headed for the voice, trying to help all the survivors of the crashed ship.
But when they finally came to the person they heard, the blood ran cold in their veins, the weapon they held falling from their grasp. It was like seeing him for the first time in their life but at the same time not… Astarion.
They notice that he looks different. His eyes are the wrong color and he’s so pale… but it’s him. They know it is because their soul sang when their eyes locked… but how?
“Hurry, I’ve got one of those bran things…” Astarion's voice trailed off as he fixed his eyes on Tav and gasped as an unfamiliar sensation filled his body. It was as if everything finally clicked and his mind was flooded with memories he didn't know he had.
That's how far I've come with this idea. I'm not sure how it would have gone on, but I imagine it would have taken a while for Tav and Astarion to become partners again. Both mourning the years they could have spent together if it weren't for Cazador. Tav learning to love the new Astarion he has become, because he was different from the elf they knew before and Astarion learning to love again overall.

I don't know a whole lot about Dungeon Meshi but the fact that the characters seem to be very classic dungeon fantasy archetypes but don't always conform to a Basic D&D model (where all elves are Fighter/Magic-User Hybrids, Thief is a class exclusive to humans) at least as far as I can see idk the manga seems to almost perfectly map out to something like Basic Fantasy Role-Playing (with some extra options added in).
This is one of those things where BFRPG has the right "shape" of the rules for running it, whereas more modern editions of D&D wouldn't. None of these mfers have prestige classes or subclasses or paragon paths or feats, what the fuck are you talking about

Worldbuilding
Made a new fantasy world in my spare time today, populated it with fantasy races.
Premise of the story: An elf chef who runs the best restaurant in the area gets his ingredients by diving into the local dungeon. His restaurant is the best not only because of his fantastic cooking skills and quality ingredients, but also because he can serve anybody that comes through his doors; each of the races has different dietary needs and finds different things poisonous, and he can cook for anyone.
One day, he's in the dungeon, and he falls down into a lower level nobody's been to in AGES. Thing is, though, there's a human living there, a biologist who's been studying the dungeon ecology for centuries, and the last human alive—all others were wiped out centuries ago due to a plague, and she's only alive because she's been living in the dungeon.
Main story arc is this guy trying to figure out not just what she can eat, but what she'd LIKE to eat, without killing her in the process.
Yes this is inspired by Dunmeshi. What of it.
Races are:
Humans (extinct)
Elves
Faunlings
Halflings
Orcs
Dwarves
Brounies
Gnomes
Elves
A camouflage species, their colors depend on the environment they're in. A snow elf would be pale white, a wood elf shades of green and brown, a dark elf (as in, lives underground) stone gray with jet black hair, and so on. Knife-point ears. Average height: 5'8"
Diet: Vegetarian, can't process meat at all, regardless of source.
Faunlings
Deer-like people, ranging visually from elves with horns to satyr-like. They're all one species, despite individual variation.
Diet: Opportunistic carnivores, they CAN eat meat, but mostly eat plants; can't process milk or most sugars past infancy. Average height: 4'10"
Halflings
NOT hobbits. They're small people, deathly pale and young-looking in their base form, with nub horns on their heads. Their appearance changes depending on who they live nearest, from their build to their coloration—a halfling living near wood elves might get taller and coppery with pointed ears, while a halfling near faunlings might have furrier legs, dappled shoulders, and longer horns, etc. Average height: varies wildly
Diet: Obligate ovivores, eat almost exclusively eggs when young and need lots of protein. Depending on who they live near, they'll eventually adapt to local cuisine and build up poison tolerance, but forcing that adaptation to go too quickly can send them into shock.
Orcs
Cat eyes and feline fangs, big and muscular. Like elves, they camouflage based on location, but they tend to be more colorful overall. Average height: 6'10"
Diet: Heavily meat-based diet, they eat most meat raw. Highly lactose intolerant, may occasionally eat plants, but can't process grains.
Dwarves
Short and stocky. Dark blueberry purple-blue by default, will temporarily turn pale on parts of their bodies that are exposed to light for a few hours. Sunlight sends them into temporary hibernation and petrification, making them statue-like. On cloudy days, they're lethargic, and on moonlit nights, their skin gets a little harder, with white patches depending on the strength of the moonlight. Average height: 3'9"
Diet: They have a tolerance for poisons that most races would die over, but they can't stand most acids. Citric acid in particular is poisonous to them. Cavern-based diet.
Brounies
THESE are the hobbits. Short and humanlike, with long, fur-tipped tails. Usually monochrome in color scheme, leaf-point ears. Average height: 3'2"
Diet: Can't process plant fibers properly, all plant matter must be cooked to break it down. Mostly raw pescatarian.
Gnomes
Even smaller than brounies, humanlike, with round-edged pointed ears and generally plump bodies. Average height: 2'4"
Diet: Vegan, with HIGH poison tolerance, they actually need some poisons to live. Mushrooms and fruit make up much more of their diet than leaves do.

Remember When I Said Taehyung Might Not Be As Gay As We Thought?
Tumblr media
Don't judge a man by his milfy wardrobe, he looks goooood.
It was... awhile ago. Maybe as far back as 2021 although I do not feel like link-searching it. It's in the archives if I didn't kill it.
Granted, there was a lot going on, then. There's still a lot going on and until now I had no desire to ever - EVER - return to this hellsite. Because Taekookers are fucking weird, yo. And some of y'all got a lil bit up in my shit too as I (fuzzily) recall. Which: it's whatever. I'm extremely unsocial, don't even answer my own DMs. And it's not personal, so I get it. I don't need or want to defend myself, but I will protect people I care about. With my absence, if necessary.
OT: I also totally kicked the big C while I've been out so that was nice. Yoongi the cat is pleased that his noms will continue uninterrupted. I will be in wigs for at least another year. It's all good. Oh LOOK at what we have here. Don't come at me for publishing this, I will explain.
Tumblr media
I got it from actual media days ago, okay, and also: there was no expectation of real privacy. Keep reading. Or don't, I'm not telling you what to do.
ANYWAY. I had to come back, mainly to say TAENNIE IS REAL I TOLD Y'ALL IDK WHY NOBODY EVER BELIEVES ME BUT HERE WE ARE. I'm gloating. Honestly, it's so rude, I'd apologize if I cared. But I am rude and snorfling into my cheerios about this. Tae just made me so damn happy, is all.
LET THE MAN BE BI OR HETEROFLEXIBLE OR EVEN STRAIGHT IDC. Jennie clearly makes him happy. Look at his "I'm going to Paris to see my girlfriend" face!
Tumblr media
And in that very specific jewelry look, no less. Foundrae. Again. Still. Hm.
Here's what I can tell you based on my limited third hand no sources no receipts this is probably utter bullshit usual disclaimer: It's a soft open, kids. This whole "oopsie we just so happened to get caught taking a lil walk in public with our managers in tow during which date at least one of us signed several autographs, what a surprise" is in fact a soft open for what will likely be a public confirmation PRETTY DAMN SOON. It might happen before I get this thing published, actually, depending on when I get it up. If it's before May 22 at noon my time, no idea. If after, well. Guess we'll see. Jennie's supposed to show up at the screening of HBO's The Idol that day, screening at the Grand Lumiere at 10:30 CEST. One wonders if she will arrive alone, or bring a plus one. It's a big ask, and if he does it they're probably getting married, that's how big a deal it would be. So I'm not holding my breath, but.
Tumblr media
This seems like a reasonable prospect for a plus-one viewing. Might not be the only one but... Jennie's IN IT so.
I'M NOT SAYING THIS IS GONNA HAPPEN. I think it would be a fucking POWER move if it did, but I also do not necessarily expect that it will. It COULD. It... MIGHT. It might not. Either way they're a thing, I'm telling you. They are, have been, a thing. For awhile. And it is apparently quite serious - like up to and including talk of engagement serious.
Remember when a bunch of folk thought that one gummy bear dude was going to jail for "hacking" Jennie's phone only there's been no actual movement on any "investigation"? Yeah. Trickle truthing, they call it. Give 'em a little bit, let them deny it and yell and chew on it for awhile before you give 'em a little more. But c'mon, nobody's wearing half the love-themed couple pieces at Foundrae for no damn reason.
Tumblr media
Seriously they got the whole collection almost and both have been seen wearing them almost exclusively. For a year.See airport pic above.
Look, I don't have inside info on Taehyung. I do not. I ain't hang with his friends and I don't know him personally. Never met the guy. But I know a PR move when I see one and this is exactly that.
We all know how toxic stan culture can be. Some ToadlicKKers (and a few of us house elves) are certifiably bonkers, if stan twitter is anything to go by. And the guys, the company, they expect a whole meltdown. They know this is not gonna make half their fans happy. I mean the tkkers have a point in that it looks like they wanted to be seen. BECAUSE IT'S A SOFT OPEN. What Taejen/Taennie/Jenhyung and the companies also know is that based on historic shipper behavior, this is gonna come back on Jimin, Jungkook, maybe Rose' and Lisa. And by extension, the other members. Maybe not as much due to their respective distance, but still. I bet by the time I finish this it will have already started.
Oh look there it is. Fuck those bitches, really.
Tumblr media
Good LORDT. I'm not adding the audio, if y'all are that hungry for psycho hose beast Jimin hate hie thee to stan twt.
But, totally off-topic kinda...
... wouldn't it be cool if Jennie, who speaks great English, was hanging out with Troye Sivan and was like "so you know my boyfriend tells me that his bffs..." I'M JUST SAYING NETWORKING IS COOL AND FRIENDS OF FRIENDS GET THINGS DONE OKAY.
Tumblr media
You know that girl has the scoop. If Tae knows it, she knows it. Oh heeeeyyy Troye.
Also OT: I love that Taekook have been hanging out a little more lately. It's refreshing. I genuinely think having Jennie in his life has been good for Tae in several ways. And you know, I'm kinda surprised Taennie has lasted this long. I didn't honestly think they would. It warms my decrepit, sad old heart a bit. Turns out I have a lot more to say so IDK IDK, if I feel okay about it I might be back. Right now I'm just waiting for the official Taennie nod and the continued total meltdown.

There is a whole chapter on the traits dnd races give regards to sex and pregnancy. I'm only sharing the races we see in bg3 here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
source: The 5e Guide to Sex (unofficial)
Transcript under the cut
AASIMAR
Aasimar views on sex vary wildly from one individual to the next; however, many aasmiar are known for their physical beauty and force of personality that makes them quite alluring.
Seductive. You have advantage on Charisma checks to seduce someone
DRAGONBORN
Like aaracokra, dragonborn are not a particularly sensual people. However, they are known for their robustness and toughness, which do translate well in the bedchambers.
Enduring. You have advantage on Constitution checks made to avoid exhaustion from having sex more than once in an hour.
DWARF
Most dwarf clans view sex as strictly for procreation between a husband and wife. However, dwarves thoroughly encourage a husband and wife to get it on as often as possible, so as to increase the size of the clan and counteract their relatively low fertility.
Enduring. You have advantage on Constitution checks made to avoid exhaustion from having sex more than once in an hour.
Infertile. You have disadvantage on checks to impregnate (if male) or become pregnant (if female)
ELF
Elves are an alluring, sensual race that greatly benefits from their long lives where matters of sex are concerned. When one can live nearly a millennium, one tends to pick up quite a few tricks, particularly since elven culture is fairly permissive and lax about sexual adventures.
Imaginative. You have advantage on Wisdom saving throws made to endure foreplay.
Infertile. You have disadvantage on checks to impregnate (if male) or become pregnant (if female)
GOBLINOID
The three goblinoid races – goblins, hobgoblins, and bugbears – have sex often, principally as a means of producing children. Powerful goblinoids will often take multiple partners as a sign of their strength and power, but goblinoids lack style and finesse with their sex.
Fertile. You have advantage on checks to impregnate (if male) or become pregnant (if female).
GNOME
Gnomes enjoy sex almost recreationally. They are not one for forming close attachments to individuals, but rather to the community as a whole. Group sex is common, and the gnomish love of pranks and jests is a fundamental part of their sex lives.
Imaginative. You have advantage on Wisdom saving throws made to endure foreplay.
HALF-ELF
Half-elves tend to view sex like either humans or elves, depending on who raised them. Their natural charm aids them well, although many half-elves suffer awkward first years in spite of this: they reach puberty later than humans and so “fall behind” their human friends’ interest in sex, while those raised by elves mature rapidly and desire sexual activity at a younger age than their peers.
Seductive. You have advantage on Charisma checks to seduce someone.
HALF-ORC
Half-orcs, like their full-blooded kin, tend to like sex rough and are innately promiscuous. While some find their semi-orcish appearance unattractive, there are plenty others for whom that is their fetish – which is well rewarded once they get into bed.
Enduring. You have advantage on Constitution checks made to avoid exhaustion from having sex more than once in an hour.
HALFLING
Halflings don’t really need an excuse to party, and a natural result of partying tends to be sex sooner or later. Halflings have no particular kinks or skills beyond what other races have, though many halflings find the idea of sex with larger humanoids surprisingly alluring, given
how often they otherwise hate being treated by them.
Halflings gain no racial traits related to sex.
HUMAN
Human perceptions on sex run the gamut from restrictive to permissive, depending on the time period and culture. Particularly in the fantasy worlds of Dungeons & Dragons, no generalizations can be made.
Humans gain no racial traits related to sex.
KOBOLD
In most D&D worlds, kobolds lack a sex drive altogether. Sex is exclusively for procreation, with those rare kobolds who do derive pleasure and thrill from it being seen as weird at best and degenerate at worst. Even “love” is a foreign concept to most kobolds, with many viewing it as a sort of mental illness.
Fertile. You have advantage on checks to impregnate (if male) or become pregnant (if female)
TIEFLING
Like aasimars, tieflings have few unifying views on sex and sexual relations. Their physical appearance can be darkly alluring to some, however, giving them a natural seductiveness regardless of their own personal tastes.
Seductive. You have advantage on Charisma checks to seduce someone

Álpheheimr - Analysis Overview of the Land of the Elves - Dissertation
Within the current lands of Adonis, the means of practicing religion and historical belief systems continue to vary based on personality and prior culture, but all of them anchor onto a similar concept, the most similar concept to our understanding being the Old Norse mythological system of Yggdrasil and its connected lands. There's an undercurrent of understanding amongst the people of Adonis that implies that the development of NG-AD0372 was almost meant to be, and that its creation was garnered from the very giants it now creates existing prior, just spreading the gift to more men and helping them become who they were meant to be from the beginning. This feeds into where it all began, and from unearthed documentation, epic poems, and tomes dating back thousands upon thousands of years, it seems that it might just be grounded in some form of reality.
These epics and tomes are filled with remarkably vivid imagery even prior to the exceptional restorative technology the nation of Adonis has at its disposal, and upon applying such things, these stories may as well be as common as a Marvel comic or holy scripture. The fantastical nature of these images and what they imply left people bewildered and breathless at first, but are now such a source of imaginative excitement, hoping that, somehow, these men will come to exist again as Alpha Dom infiltrates the fabric of humanity within Adonis, an ultimate return to form.
Yggdrasil's lands have come to represent somewhat-individualized belief systems in Adonis, even representing archetypes and personalities of individuals, much like the Zodiac. The first to address, with the largest following, from the devout to the casual, would be the land of Álpheheimr--the land of the elves.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One important distinction between the comparable Old Norse mythology structure and that of Adonis's is that there is no "Midgard"--the humans of this realm had their own individualities and characteristics but permeated nearly every sect of Yggdrasil, excluding the more exclusive sects such as Vanaheim and the near-uninhabitable zones like Niflheim and Jötunheimr. The sense of scale of these men is egregious--Jötunheimr has some of the least currently-discovered documentation but is noted to be the "Land of the Giants", while some elves within Álpheheimr seem to tower above others, seemingly ranging from 8, to 10, maybe even 15 feet tall or larger. How does this quantify a land of giants? What will scholars find?
Despite the vast amounts still to discover, due to Álpheheimr's essence representing a passive, kind path of life, "love thy neighbour"-adjacent, much has been discovered and unearthed about the tumult within this realm. There exist the normal álfr, of similar complexion to humans, which are the traditional visual of elves training, defending their towns, and living fruitful lives in general sanctity.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But intriguingly enough, it's as if the sun and moon that preside over these lands are like a lens, switching factions to a dormant state as another rises and takes over, as if three timelines exist simultaneously on the same thread--one of the aforementioned álfr, and that of the dökkálfar and the ljósálfar--dark elves and light elves. Between these lens switches between daylight, moonlight, and twilight, the foliage and greenery of the forests shifted and morphed into the respective faction's dominance, nightblooms and mullberries draping across the hills as the dökkálfar rose from underground, lilies of the valley and orchids blossoming from the dead bushes as the ljósálfar materialized from the skies, and once again returning to the daylilies and berry bushes ripe for picking as the álfr awoke. Conflict inevitably arose during these periods of change, and this is what justifies these immense elven statures and musculature. It was quickly discovered that it exists out of necessity, and consequentially, out of worship by those that it protects.

The dökkálfar were borderline demonic, ravaging the landscape as they sought out sustenance and dominance for the time they could reign, seeking comforts they could no longer achieve. Fallen from other echelons of álfr, the dökkálfar were stripped of the capability to experience certain sensations they yearned for--contentment, peace, love. The closest that could be achieved would be the humans that aligned themselves with their faction worshiping their forms and being there for them as trainees and confidants. The dökkálfar valued them greatly, as the sensation of tending to a lesser being was the closest they could get to feeling the pleasantness of caring for another being, and this dynamic allowed them to shift from beings of destruction to beings of self-preservation, only doing what they had to to continue feeling alive.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The ljósálfar were a somewhat mysterious and mischievous faction, and responsible for planting the majority of the lifeblood that fed into the land. Bountiful ambrosia seeping into the dirt, feeding their worshipers, spilling from the skies and coating their bodies during their time on the ground, was a sought-after source by the dökkálfar, who would drain the land and kill it if they could due to how it made them feel--specifically, the ability to fully feel again. This led to resentment from the ljósálfar as they sought to renew and invigorate the land with life. The mischief mentioned before lies in the way they interact with their worshipers, as while the dökkálfar will tend to their humans in a parental, guardian manner, the ljósálfar, in multiple instances, see them as devout playthings, toying with their emotions and desires and the inherent pull the ambrosia has on their psyche. The wondrous illusion of grandeur would always fade as vicious combat ensued once the dökkálfar were able to attain some of the golden liquids and fruits. It's a tragic sight to bear witness to as you see their consumption allow a smile to cross their lips, leaning in for a kiss with their humans, as the cycle continues to chase that feeling once again, to the point of bloodshed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
More analyses will be presented on how these factions came to be--whether the ljósálfar exist due to ascension of standard álfr, more explanation on the descent to madness of álfr to dökkálfar, and just how their societies interact within themselves and with others. There's a vast amount of imagery and depiction present for Álpheheimr.

half wordless, half in elven-tongue
Summary: There is something very practical about Arwen’s ancient and much-powerful grandmother (for an Elf, anyway) that Arwen admires, for she herself has sometimes found it difficult to achieve practicality. Estel, Man though he is, appreciates her fancies very much. He and his poet’s soul. She has spent the last twenty years sharing them with him in her letters, and every response (growing fewer and fewer until these last six months they stopped entirely) has him writing back like one offered water in the desert.
Arwen does not mind; it is not as though she herself has much more sense, climbing into bed with him as she does.
huge shoutout to @firstelevens for reading thru this and telling me it didn't suck despite not really going here. also, a secondary shoutout to @btwxsixesandsevens for gong here even less but inadvertently inspiring the "lover from a story" bit with their (as always) brilliant fic writing. would never have spent 3 weeks agonizing over this otherwise!!!
3rd October, 2952
Mellon,
I’m late writing you for entirely explainable reasons. You will say, not so unusual for you – that is not true, and you are only very over-eager writing me, which should not be as pleasant a revelation as it is – but anyhow, here it is. We’ve had many visitors of late, and my skill was needed in the healing den. Of course, I thought of you (in all Ada’s training I have not read nearly so much about the virtues of athelas as I did skimming your last letter) but I urge you not to worry, as we are all well here and there is no contagious illness. Your presence would have been appreciated though. If not by Ada (he sits in the study sometimes and looks yearningly out the window; I know he is missing you, though he won’t admit to it) than by the poor Dwarf whose stomach could not settle. You were always very good at getting a smile out of even the most stubborn of silly souls.
On that point, how has it been on the frontier of friend-finding? I know you must not be in the Wilds any longer. Given how swiftly we understood each other, I am sure you will have no trouble at all on that front. Send updates soon,
AE
6th February, 2953
Estel,
Is the Angle so very cold as all that? Do not despair at the stiffness of your welcome (or in your bones!). You are still their kindred and that is manifest even in the curve of the characters you write: you love them already, do you not? Do not deny it.
I am very intrigued by your observations on the rouge-wearing practices of your people and cannot help but wonder if it is an exclusively Mannish preference. I certainly do not wear it, but I have seen portraits and I do believe Uncle Elros did. I cannot determine the colour, however, as the portrait is old. Thoughts?
You will see I have many questions today. Your insistence that every Dunedain woman you meet feels akin to a cousin or aunt is terribly amusing (I am almost convinced you are making a joke — are you?). I am sure at least one of them does not reciprocate that sentiment. Are they still wary of you, or very forward now? What is the food like? How many teeth have you broken upon the infamous bread you described? Have you met your grandfather yet? (I remember you were worried about that).
Do not let the cold seep in too much. You must wear warm socks and eat foods that keep the blood warm. I may be an Elf, but my healing arts extend to many races, so you are thus obliged to listen to me.
As for the rest – your people will love you soon as you do them, for such a love as the one you give is easy to return. You are certainly very likeable, at any rate, and I will argue with anyone who disagrees.
Have hope, and be well. All will be as it should.
14th March, 2953
Do not say you listen to me on all fronts, as I have it in writing by your own hand that you have not eaten in three days. In the cold! Foolish man.
25th January, 2956
Elves do not experience such monthly pains, as you well know Estel. Or perhaps you do not, in which case I must chide Ada for thus limiting your training in the healing arts. Childbirth and bearing is a region most important, as I have learned (I can already imagine your blush) from your own mother, with whom I’ve spoken three times since your last letter. I have decided we must become fast friends, and her efforts at formality are altogether poor anyway; her face is as open as yours often is, and it warms me to know whence that quality came.
Anyhow. The blood in your vest. There is clay that runs beneath the bark of some trees that will remove stains made by bodily fluid. Also vinegar, if you are near a homestead.

how do I talk about furry rights without people rolling their eyes and ignoring me? how do I bring up issues like online bullying and exclusion from communities without people calling me "one of the annoying ones?"
furries, in many ways represent transhumanism. now, I don't personally believe every single furry is a transhuman, or even give the concept much thought. however, the very existence of furries reflect the tenets of transhumanism. the idea to reject one's very species, to find comfort and camaraderie with others who share your feelings, to make changes to your everyday life in order to pursue that comfort. you can replace "furry" with "trans" and nothing would change
both furries and trans people have communities that overlap almost completely. I myself am a furry, and I have many fursonas. I am also a therian, otherkin, otherwise known as transhuman. I feel a level of discomfort not just in the perceived gender of my birth but in my human body. I very much wish I was a fox, and often fantasize about being one, or being turned into one in an entirely non sexual way. (if it was sexual, there still wouldn't be anything wrong with it because pursuing personal happiness can only be a good thing)
regardless, concepts like transhumanism have been a part of the furry community for as long as there was a furry community. some of the earliest records show in the summer of 1990 people online who identified more as elves than humans call themselves "elfkin," and as this new vocabulary spread, there were people who identified as animals, both fictional and factual, and they were initially labeled as "otherkin" by elfkin to differentiate from their specific community, and otherkin has more recently been described as "therian" in modern conversations. and we as a people can also acknowledge that the idea of humans turning into something nonhuman is a concept that has existed for as long as man has an understanding of the difference between man and beast. and even further, we know people who have sympathized with the nonhumans, or identified with their plight, in some way, shape or form. this is most often seen in queer communities
now, with this understanding of the idea of furries out of the way, is it any surprise that a huge amount of the trans community, as well as the lgbtqia+ community as a whole, also identify as furries? the modern interpretation of nonhumans existing as themselves happily? the idea that even though you are different, you are still loved and supported by like-minded individuals? is it such a surprise that so many of us had fursonas when we were younger? that as we matured and our understanding of our identities grew and became more complex over time we began questioning fundamental parts of our identities? I, for one, did it backwards. I transitioned, came out as a lesbian, and only then did I become a furry. and since I had all the hard parts of my identity out of the way, that meant I got to scrutinize my concept of what being a furry meant to me. and it allowed me to see the parallels between the trans community and the furry community
telling your family and being mocked. telling your friends and them treating you like an outsider. being outed by others in public spaces and facing public ridicule and shaming. feeling uncomfortable in your body. performing affirmative actions to alleviate the feeling of physical and mental discomfort. finding community online. talking to others and realizing you are not alone, you are not wrong, there are so many others like you. learning new ways to express yourself. still having a feeling of discomfort in how other people, outsiders to your community, will react if they find out what you are. relationships not working because of this part of your identity. only feeling comfortable in spaces exclusive to your community for fear of being gawked at and made unsafe. physical abuse directly because of how others interpret you as a threat, or something that needs to be "fixed." the words "trans" and "furry" are interchangeable here. and in many cases for furries, all of this is applied to them if they simply are furries and don't necessarily identify as therians or otherkin. then it can be seen as a direct one-for-one experience, unfortunate as it is
if more evidence is needed, think about how furries are treated online. the word "furry" itself is treated almost like a slur, calling someone a furry as a derogatory joke, or discrediting them because they are a furry. not to mention the proliferation of aggressive misinformation to further slander the furry community as a whole, such as them being sex crazed freaks, pedophiles and rapists (sound familiar?) the idea that there are "good" and "bad" members of the communities, ones you should listen to (the ones who are palatable, who keep it private, who aren't therian) and the ones you shouldn't listen to (the weirdos, the ones with weird pronouns, the ones who wear weird things out)
trans panic has gotten so ridiculous that there has even been an attack on the furry community by legislation. senate bill 3084 in Oklahoma banned the use of litter boxes in schools based on the rumors of furry children "demanding" this be allowed. this not only shows just how ludicrous the anti trans legislation that's been swallowing up the country has gotten, but how easily furries gets swept up with lgbtqia+ in cishet spaces. I would expect more sympathy for the furry community by the trans community at least, if not the larger lgbtqia+ community. and yet furries are still allowed to be made out to be jokes and insults.
now, I'm not saying that furries have been the target for systemic oppression in the same way the lgbtqia+ community has. but what I am trying to say is that we should step up and defend those who have been by our side every step of the way, cheering us on at parades and helping us figure out our identities. there are a lot of problems with how people both on and offline treat furries, and how it is just allowed to happen. because if you speak up against violence towards a community, you are labeled as "one of the bad ones"

Poll #23
Character 67: Is part horse. Can cause others excruciating pain with their own anger. Joins an illegal rebellion at age 13. 3 elves are all in love with her. One of them is her cousin. A grumpy short man tried to get her exiled from society because she has brown eyes.
Character 68: He lost his wife because his self-worth is so low that he thought the love letters she was writing to him couldn’t possibly be for him and that she was clearly cheating …She referred to dates they’d been on. Together.
Character 69: Imagine if you will, a character with so many family issues. Daddy issues, mommy issues, even cousin issues! He's also a criminal. Like a mafia-type criminal. But is also perhaps even a bit more unhinged and evil than your average mafia man. He's also gay and wears almost exclusively pretty button down shirts with not many buttons used. He spends most of the show failing to seduce this one guy and then suddenly in the last few episodes he ends getting a completely different baddie through his swagless looks and pathetic demeanor.
(Friendly reminder that all characters were RANDOMIZED and therefore the numbers don't mean anything.)

What is an aswang? This is a question that has continually resurfaced during my twenty years of studying the folklore and religious beliefs of the various ethnolinguistic groups in the Philippines. It is a question that so intrigued me, I spent almost five years exclusively exploring the topic, culminating in my documentary The Aswang Phenomenon (2011). It is a question that has confronted many before me, and will hopefully continue to intrigue academic and creative minds into the future. For the Filipino, the answer may seem very simple and concise. They will likely answer the question based on the belief in their community with such certainty and vigor that there is little room for misinterpretation. Moving to the next barangay will elicit a different yet equally assertive answer. Travelling throughout the country leaves one with hundreds of interpretations. In the 1960s, Dr. Maximo Ramos, affectionately referred to as the “Dean of Philippine Lower Mythology,” undertook the monumental task of creating taxonomical classification of folkloric beings throughout the Philippines. The culmination of this work was eventually published in a book called The Creatures of Philippine Lower Mythology (very recommended). Within its pages, folkloric creatures are neatly placed into twelve categories; Demons, Dragons, Dwarves, Elves, Ghouls, Giants, Merfolk, Ogres, Vampires, Viscera Suckers, Were beasts, and Witches. What I found curious was that the aswang appeared in five of these categories; Ghouls, Vampires, Viscera Suckers, Were beasts, and Witches. These became the taxonomic classification for the aswang in Ramos’ later work The Aswang Complex in Philippine Folklore (also recommended).

Annatar, the lord of gifts
Tumblr media
A “short” explanation about Annatars design + my Hcs: I hc that Aulë wants his maiar to clad themselves with a fana that looks more like a marble statue than something alive -so his maiar are grey to white in skin-tones and hair colors, they all have long hair which is cut straight, elaborate hairstyles and other modifications to their fanar are not allowed. Although build willowy Aulës maiar are strong but as their secondary function (when not working tirelessly at their Valas forge) is to be literal statues they’re to be easy on the eyes which explains their rather elvish looking fanar and clothes that show a lot of skin.
Keeping this hc in mind Mairon knew that to successfully fool the elves he needed to yet again don the fana his old master forced them to wear -but as he’s still mourning his Husbands banishment to the void thusly being so Very distraught that he can’t help his affection and longing from seeping into Annatars fana; Which is why his mind is burning with the gilded memories of Melkor (His gray hair is dappled with a cascade of gold), the inspiration that his husband planted into him flowing out from his hands right into his creations (his hands are purple), his lips stained with the last kiss they shared which filled him with so much love that Mairon will forever sing of his husbands glory and curse those who took Melkor away from him (his lips are purple), the ones brightly burning eyes are now permanently dulled, weighted with a heart shattering sorrow and further stained blood red from crying an oceans worth of hot tears. And lastly; Melkors final words, his comforting voice full of love and affection when he urged him to “Stay strong for me, my spark” which made him considerably bulk up his fana, even tho he feels anything but strong. So in the end he looked quite different from what a Maia of Aulë is supposed to which is why the elves were vary of him but for Celebrimbor (who I hc as not as sweet as the Silvergifters do, he’s outright Horrible); He treats Annatar like the maiar are ‘supposed to’ be treated, so like a Servant. Sure he eagerly partakes in the sharing of information and ideas about the shared craft with Annatar but won’t of course share his best ideas with a mere Maia. Annatar on the other hand is disgusted and absolutely livid by how he’s treated as a lesser being by the shit stain that is Celebrimbor, especially as the elf keeps not-at-all-accidentally-even-tho-he-tries-to-pretend-so touching him without his consent which makes Mairons hatred towards the elves burn ever hotter. Any other times Annatar could easily side-step the elves often lewd advantages with (fake) playfully scolding words etc until one time when Celebrimbor muses aloud why Annatar looks so different from the other Maiar of Aulë; Is it perhaps that his alliances are shifting away from the righteous path of Eru and into something much Darker? Annatar tries his best to divert the topic to something more safer but Celebrimbor keeps on pressing and at one point lasciviously husks into Annatars ear the only option out from the situation; “I’ll hardly have the concentration to talk if I’m fucking a sweetly mewling maia~”
This is how Celebrimbor coerces Annatar into sleeping with him, it happens a few more times after and every time Mairon is filled with feelings of shame, betrayal and disgust but most importantly the hatred he feels towards the elves climbs to such heights that he’s ready to forge and then bind his own essence into a ring which will amplify his powers then he’ll be strong enough to make middle-earth bend to his will and finally free his beloved husband. Now back to the design:
Annatars clothes/accessories will incorporate these 3 symbols:
Mairons burning eye (circlet&choker)
Melkors three peaks (The ring he’s kissing+the arm bands+ the clasps)
Or the sigil which combines their symbols (the earring).
His accessories are golden, no exceptions, and his clothes will almost exclusively be of some shade of purple -or if he’s feeling very vexed with the elves he will even wear black (both purple and black are Melkors colors) but not too often to not to arise unwanted suspicion.
He prefers lush, deep colors but reluctantly wears the lighter colors that Celebrimbor tells him to wear. Speaking of loathsome clothes; Mairon absolutely DETESTS to wear the all too revealing robes that were “gifted” to him by Celebrimbor; They are Not what he’d wear if he had a say in the matter but seeing that these styles of robes are precisely what he had to wear in Almaren (and that pervert Celebrimbor enjoys to ogle/touch all that exposed skin) so he wears them with a fake smile to make the stupid elves trust him.
More about elves being stupid; It seems that after Melkors banishment the elves have grown forgetful as they eagerly mine for gold and use it without caution even tho it originates straight from Melkors veins and is very potent in its powers of corruption. They’ve also become so blind that Annatar can wear the (slightly modified) symbols of his and Melkors -the same ones that once struck terror into the hearts to all who beheld them- yet the elves don’t seem to realize. Once Celebrimbor even commented that the “big flower choker” that Annatar made for himself was cute.
Btw Annatar doesn’t have horns, they’re the part of the flaming eye halo circlet that keep it aloft. (Mairon likes to be Extra extra <3)
For lols sake I wanted to combine the two reoccurring things I’ve seen mentioned when regarding Mairon/Annatar; the first being how often Mairon is called Tolkiens Satan and second being how often Annatar is shown wearing a halo.
No shade to anyone who does either, I just thought that it was a fun combo to try and add to the design :D
Here's the first version and a close up of Annatars sad eye

Tyril's Weird Stance on When to Use Light Magic
When Tyril will and won't use magic outside of combat is super interesting (particularly pre-revelations about the Realms being split in Book 2).
Tyril is over here telling Nia not to use her Light to clean... while peeling potatoes with it?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And he's pretty sassy about Nia using Light to make a fire in the Deadwood. Even though it's good for morale and no one wants to go back out into the nightmare forest for wood.
Tumblr media
This all suggests that Tyril is against using Light unless it's necessary. But that's not true. He tells you than his opinion changed radically after learning the Realms were split and that's why magic has a cost. It's only after the reveal that Tyril feels weird using Light for mundane things.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So why does Tyril scold Nia about how she uses magic?
Well, he gives us two different explanation in the Deadwood.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think he's second explanation, that Light is sacred, is partially true. We know religion is highly woven into people's lives in Undermount and Tyril is fairly devout.
But I think the 'hefty price' is the most honest answer.
Tyril lost one of his mothers to Light magic use, which is clearly still painful for him. I'm sure the cost of using Light feels very real to him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And remember, Tyril is not as worldly and experienced as he pretends to be, especially not at first. He admits he'd never even been on a boat before! So he's probably read a bit about humans and orcs, but likely never formed any kind of connection to one of them. Tyril's world has almost always been exclusively elves.
But then he started making his first real friends (after Kaya) and none of them are elves (with the possible exception of your character).
Tumblr media
And Tyril must have the terrible realization that he is going to outlive all of them, unless he falls in battle or manages to burn through over a hundred years of Light.
So now here's this human he really cares about, who is kind and passionate and understands Light like he does, who is trading moments of her tragically short life when she doesn't have to. So he scolds her for using her Light, but doesn't ever really say why.
Basically, Tyril is a very sweet guy who loves his friend Nia and can't quite put the words to why it makes him so nervous to see her use the magic he's been surrounded with his whole life.

Mists of Pandaria literally took a dwarf character, previously rightfully depicted as a scumbag villain because he wiped out an entire tribe of tauren whilst citing imperialism and racial superiority, and depicted him as a good guy out to protect the pandaren whilst vilifying the tauren for resisting him!
Not to mention that they retconned nearly the entire orc race as evil in that expansion with countless promising orc characters previously depicted as honorable and likable like Zaela, the entire Kor'kron organization, Bloodhilt, ETC becoming Garrosh clones simply because they were orcs and "orcs are inherently bad".
Or that the tie in novels for Mists of Pandaria like Tides of War literally had Baine freaking out and exiling tauren for resisting human and dwarf colonization of their lands.
Vol'jin, one of the only Poc coded monsters to be depicted in a decnet light in MOP, was literally described by the Alliance player as "Disgusting", "savage", and other terms, with the game even adding flies around Vol'jin for this quest.
Before you say thats just the Alliance player's view, white characters never get this description like say human characters when you're playing Horde.
For reference, Shadowlands demonized Dambala, a revered and famous real world loa worshipped in Haiti and many other parts of the World.
The same expansion almost exclusively had PoC coded monsters in the Hell portions, like Zul'jin was in Hell for protecting his lands against colonists that are so proud of their genocide of trolls, their leaders name themselves after it(Trollbanes) the recent Sylvanas novel even clarified that the humans and High Elves knew that it was the Amani's land when they made their homes there from the stone obelisks decorated with troll holy symbols and writing.
It has also been confirmed in recent novels that the tauren gods are fake whilst the night elf gods are real...
And the tauren's oppressor whom had been frequently terrorizing the earth throughout World of Warcraft's history, Magni Bronzebeard, literally got the role of voice of Azeroth like the true Mighty Whitey he is.
Warcraft III for all its racial coding never had anything like this and Warcraft I and II did not have this much racial coding.
So the Doubling down on the racial coding and the "PoC Coded monsters are evil" stuff was done by the modern writers that go "look at how woke we are, two white women are gay an we retconned another white character to be trans, now lets kill some voodoo worshipping savages in the Jungle together!"
Anyhow, sorry I have strong feelings about this as someone whom isn't white myself.
This is sadly a very extensive list and I have no doubt is only part of the problem. I used to play WoW when I was 13 which was 13 years ago and I didn't speak English then so I didn't really know lore. I came back only recently and the few things I played were some BfA (Kul Tiras side), all of Dragonflight and some Legion and a bit of Shadowlands. I haven't touched the other things aside from the vague knowledge of what is going on. I have to keep an eye on these things as I play on because I didn't know most of it.
Hell they do stupid colonialist tropes even with white-coded races, like I am sure the Drust are supposed to be Celtic coded and yet they also have them portrayed as bad for not wanting the Kul Tirans on their land.
I feel like when they do something good for the non-white coded races, it is always played safe for the general playerbase of the cishet white dudes who want their racist stereotypes intact. They always seem to be pussyfooting around the issue without making any meaningful change. They want to make sure they won't offend their biggest racist consumer base and that is so sad. Blizzard has potent racism 10 years behind everyone else.
Also I am sorry you have to write so much, but thank you for sharing this and I hope more people are made aware of it. It's okay to always vent here for anything, and I will eventually catch up with playing the content.

Hello! Could we get a reaction from Wesley (either crushing or exclusive) reacting to a farmer that was found injured out in woods? Thank you!
but of course! i love this idea!
Wesley personally doesn't really venture outside of Nel'Vari, and that includes even the forest around him. He's too busy for it, anyway.
But then you arrived. You found your way through the forest (somehow) and didn't leave. Well, you did leave to do more exploring, to do more heroic things like try and save your hometown and its people (okay, not even Wesley can be annoyed at you for that).
Actually, after a few conversations he didn't blow off, he began to know you, and was surprised you weren't totally despicable. Slowly, he began to like you. Even if he didn't like to leave his town or explore, he secretly admired you for it.
It became hard to deny he was catching feelings for you. Especially since you flirted with him so boldly. It was just something else for him to admire, but trying to hide his blush was just another piece of work.
So, anyway, he was used to your exploring and unpredictable schedule. There was no reason for him to worry about you, especially not since he saw time and time again how heroic you were.
So when the elves hurriedly started a rescue mission for someone found injured in the woods, you were the last person he expected to be pulled out of the forest.
It was almost a coincidence that he saw it was you. He'd been trying to work but the tavern was too busy with all the rumors. He was just on his way home, a two-minute walk, when he noticed your unconscious form.
He was too shocked to really react. He didn't believe it. You were so strong, you spent so much time in those woods. What had happened? His eyes followed you, only noticing the tears in your clothes and the blood staining them.
He felt like he couldn't breathe. He felt all surrounding eyes on him. What was he to do? He just turned around and hurried to his home.
He'd try and get the planned work done, but even he finds it hard to concentrate, not knowing if you're going to be alright. So he ends up just being frustrated with himself.
In the evening, he'd finally allow himself to go check on you. It's hesitantly because he doesn't like the not knowing, but if knowing means being devastated... It's a tough choice and he is slightly terrified. Not that it shows, not that he'd ever tell you.
When the doctors tell him that with time, you'd be alright, it's like he can breathe again. A huge weight is lifted off him and he's a little more optimistic about seeing you.
You couldn't be happier to see him, even though you're under a lot of pain medication and are a little droopy. Seeing you, and seeing you smile brings him such a relief that he can finally admit to himself that yes, he might love you. He's about to ask you on a date right then and there, but remembers the blood he saw, and figures that's for another day.
While you're there for a few days, Wesley is able to do work again, knowing you're alright. He visits you twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening until you're free to go.

Father of Destiny and the One Who Hears the Voice of the Sea
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One of the things that I found myself in love with in this show is the depiction of Fatherhood and the relationship between Elendil and Isildur. It would be far too easy to look at this and say it's normal and move on, but in reality it is genuinely anything but normal.
Depictions of the Father/Son relationship in media is nearly always one of either misunderstanding, active rebellion, or violence. Yet, while all three of those elements exist within the narrative involving Elendil and Isildur, the thing we consistently see the most is tenderness, love, and affection. These are almost always exclusively reserved for Father/Daughter portrayals, NOT Father/Son.
Which is important for several reasons, not least of which is because it illustrates a very contrasted distinction between the only other Father/Son dynamic we see in the show (excluding, perhaps, the kind of absent Father relation with Elrond), with Ar-Pharazôn. With him, the dynamic is far more traditional. He's "teaching" his son wisdom because thats the way of things, it's a top down view of fatherhood that makes legacy, rather than individuality, the primary focus.
Legacy is not a bad thing, per se, but when Fatherhood fixates on this (as most traditional modes of masculinity demand of both Father and Son), the inevitable eventuality is that power must be incorporated to keep the dynastic legacy of the father alive. With power comes the need to keep it, and thrive with more of it. We see this even in "positive" depictions of fatherhood, think of all of the movies that portray a father being proud of his son and usually there is always a kind of continued legacy and even extended violence, a Father's dilemma solved by the violence of the son.
With Elendil and Isildur, however, what we get instead is concern for wellbeing and mutual respect, but even more, they actually like each other. This, this is huge. Father's liking their sons, and vice versa, is rare. Respecting each other? All of the time. But actually enjoying the company of the other? It's just an element you rarely see.
Notice how when Elendil is knocked down and Isildurn runs over (seen in the second gif above) what Elendil says isn't "Dont worry about me, keep fighting" which would have been typical and in keeping with the "Dont be weak" mentality. Instead, what we see is Elendil adress Isildur's worry and reassure him that he is okay. It's a small touch, but with huge ramifications. Elendil is acknowledging isildur's feelings without belittling them.
It's a wonderful quality that the creators added, because it could have been so typical without anything being off. Isildur could've been vying to upset and break out of his Father's shadow at every given turn. Elendil could've hated how his son made everything difficult for him in his political life. They could've made the dynamic normal. But instead, chose something genuinely wonderful.

The other element that puts this into a wonderful perspective is Elendil's humility. It's not a faux humility either, as again, we see with Ar-Pharazôn. He is in constant service to others, but without caveat. He quite literally serves others.
By creating a character that loves his children and serves others faithfully, he is simultaneously portraying positive masculinity in a way that allows for violence as a protector but does not glorify that violence as a need, but also exemplifies the allowance and even promotion of emotional maturity. He sobs for his son, he fears for his children, and he worries for his queen, yet also embraces his son, and speaks softly to those he cares for. This, then, is what is seen as keeping the Elven ways alive.
The contrast between Elendil and Ar-Pharazôn is lovely because it is mostly subtle, yet noticeable all the same. One is actively illustrating the wisdom of the Elves and Maia, the other exemplifies the pitfalls of humanity.
Of all of the wonderful things that RoP has done, the relationship between Elendil and Isildur might be the one that moves me the most.
