"Durge and Astarion are canon your honor!"
Well canon Durge is a white male dragonborn sorcerer and yet y'all are making cute little drow girlies and sexy little tiefling twinks to get at that extra content so what's the truth?
Oh that your personal preferences are somehow more canon than someone else's because the devs didn't have enough time to write extra content for every companion, leaving an unfair and imbalanced emphasis on the one character that did get extra content? That you feel your choices are validated because they're reinforced by poor planning/game design? Hmm. Hmm. Hmmmm 🤔

Took a glance at the Canon Jiang Cheng tag today out of curiosity and got a free blocklist for my trouble but I did notice something really interesting
That is to say: Most of the stans “reclaiming” the tag literally outright admitted that their main reason for liking Jiang Cheng was that he’s attractive. The vast majority of the stan posts that I saw talked about his appearance first and foremost, and the other batch admitted they were woobie-fying him. Art was either hypersexualized or soft chibi shapes and all of it focused on either his suffering or him raising Jin Ling (specifically in a way that seemed Milf-y. He was drawn with exaggerated hips a lot.)
Most interestingly, almost none of the fanart was of CQL Jiang Cheng. Almost none of the gif sets showed CQL Jiang Cheng. This was Manhua and Donghua design Jiang Cheng, sexually exaggerated and squished into an UwU Woobie Baby Sadboi shape, palatable for consumption.
I’ve long had issues with the way fandoms — and the world at large — rank characters based on visual appearance. Wen Ning is to Wei Wuxian what so many fics depict Nie Huiasang as being; his best friend and closest confidant, the person who is in his corner no matter what, who sees and supports him and stands up for him even when it’s scary. But it’s hard to picture Wen Ning as the booty-shorts-wearing white-girl-wasted gender-ambiguous party friend, so Nie Huiasang gets that roll. If Wen Qing shows up at all, she must be The Mean Lesbian, because if she’s straight then her crisp no-nonsense attitude (which is literally just the way every trauma nurse in the world acts) isn’t attractive, it isn’t fun. And of course if she IS the mean lesbian, then her vulnerability and her fear and her deep compassion and desire to help people needs to be shoved to the side, because the mean lesbian doesn’t feel those things. That’s not sexy.
I don’t really know where I’m going with this. This problem isn’t unique to MDZS or Jiang Cheng Stans or anything like that. It’s a pervasive issue I’ve seen everywhere for as long as I can remember; beauty exclusively means fuckability. There are no versions of attractiveness that don’t lend themselves to sexual consumption. Beauty also means morality and value. If someone is not beautiful — that is, if you don’t want to fuck them — then they are unworthy. Characters that are extremely important to a story get either erased (if the fandom doesn’t think they’re hot) or rewritten (if the fandom does think they’re hot) because hot people can’t do bad things, or at least they can’t do bad things that aren’t kind of thrilling and exciting. Because they’re hot.
It reminds me of people who are into Slashers, actually? Although from what I’ve seen slasherfuckers are more self-aware than Jiang Cheng Stans.
Boy was that a sentence.
Update: the fun thing about this post is that it also comes with a free blocklist

Shadow and bone rant
Was shadow and bone S2 a good one? It was enjoyable. It was watchable. That's it.
For those of us who have read the books it was a huge mess.
Let's talk first about the grisha trilogy.
They joined book 2 and 3 (and crooked kingdom for some fucking reason, but I'll get to that later) and just rushed through the plot.
While I'm not the biggest fan of the trilogy and SOC is one of my favorite books ever, I still think the crows had no business being there. They just took too much screentime, something I usually wouldn't complain about but now I am. The sword subplot alone would have been okay. The rest? What the fuck was that??
Due to this, we didn't get to see the actual story of Sab. And don't get me wrong, I wasn't expecting a word by word adaptation, but this felt.... The characters weren't themselves.
Nikolai felt incredibly plain. He was just a nice guy. But where was his wit? His charm? His "my mother was an oyster, I'm the pearl". Where was his personality?
Also, he never loved Alina, and Alina didn't love him. Why would they push this narrative?
Everyone loves the darkling because he is charismatic and a master manipulator. This season he was just a dying guy. He didn't feel threatening. He didn't feel like the villain at all.
Zoya was completely sidelined for Alina. My girl had like 3 scenes and she didn't do much. In the book we saw rare moments of vulnerability, saw her friendship with Alina and genya grow. But she was still the cold bitch everyone loves because that's what makes Zoya Zoya.
They offed David just like that, and again, replaced him with Alina in the triumvirate. And I'm so mad about this. The triumvirate was made up of the three leaders that the orders chose to lead them during the war (except for genya). There are one of each order so the darkling's favoritism wouldn't repeat, so all the orders would stand on equal ground. Again, they were leaders. Political leaders. Now we have 2 summoners and a colporalki. What about the materialki? They lost their place in Nikolai's circle.
Also, the little reunion of Alina, genya and Zoya at the end was more like "uwu besties hanging out" than, "we have the responsibility to lead the orders and rebuild the country"
Mal just left. JUST LIKE THAT. we have a season full of Malina kissing and vowing they'll spend their lives together after they destroy the fold and kill the darkling, and the dude just leaves. Not just leaves, BECOMES STURMHOND. Do the writers know what sturmhond means to Nikolai? He would NEVER let any other person, least of all Mal take over the role.
And the twins left with him. The twins would never leave Nikolai.
Also Tolya, canonically ace, giving inej heart eyes????
And Alina. Where was her internal struggle? She kept her powers and is ready to become queen? And marry Nikolai??? She never wanted the crown. She never loved Nikolai. She only wanted to disappear into the sunset with mal and open an orphanage to help children like her. She literally told Nikolai that Zoya would make a better queen, hinting at zoyalai.
The whole point of Alina's character was that she was just a girl. She was just a girl turned saint, something she didn't want, with an enormous power she never asked for. She was just a girl who wanted a normal life but had to play the hero at 17. By the end of ruin and rising, she is exhausted, weary, drained. She faked her own death so people would leave her alone, so she could retire to the middle of nowhere with Mal and live a quiet life.
Now they're making her Nikolai's betrothed, future queen of Ravka, and... Evil? After she fought so hard to not become a monster like the darkling??
And where's the religion??? A huge part of the grishaverse revolves around religion, especially in the grisha trilogy. The manipulation of information and public image, twisting the narrative so it fits your goals, the zeal of the masses based on that exact narrative that those in power created.... There was none of that. Only inej called Alina "Sankta Alina" but they never showed what becoming Sankta was like for Alina.
This was just... Ugh. It was not BAD, but I'm so disappointed, especially for the crows, so part 2?

for the ask game (u don't have to answer all of these if you don't want to) 2, 9, 10, 13, 22
2. a compelling argument for why your fave would never top or bottom
oh wrong person to ask i’m a staunch verse enjoyer 💪 preferences exist of course but honestly i’ve never understood being like. Strict top/bottom and/or dom/sub. in fiction and real life. like that kind of thing genuinely just depends on the day and my mood, personally? it just doesn’t really make sense to me, so i don’t feel qualified to answer this one
that being said. bottom wolfwood supremacy
9. worst part of canon
i hate you so much tristamp elendira. and tristamp vash & knives’ childhood. and tristamp rem. and tri98 vash being a lech. and most of all i Fucking hate *********
10. worst part of fanon
i’ll be honest i could write an essay about the trigun fandom. as with all fandoms, there are bound to be Freaks. and man oh man are there freaks in this one. the obvious answer to this would be the people who ship You Know What. but the yaoification of vashwood is particularly painful to me bc they have such a genuinely beautiful and tragic relationship with extraordinary writing and everyone turns them into like. hunky sexfreak dom wolfwood with rippling abs and skinny twink sub vash who’s a foot shorter than wolfwood and they have a healthy bdsm relationship and they communicate their feelings without issue. and that drives me absolutely fucking crazy bc literally NONE of that has ANY basis on their actual characters
13. worst blorbofication
definitely vash. while wolfwood is a victim of just blatant racism a lot of the time i feel like the term “blorbofication” more refers to a character being turned into a harmless uwu soft boy and vash gets that treatment to like a comical degree. this seems to go hand-in-hand with the trans headcanon, and it’s really fucking lame to me. like woooow you made vash into a skinny muscleless twink with smooth skin? AND he’s ditzy and super outgoing and everyone loves him so much and has tons of friends? but he’s also kinda dumb and doesn’t know how to handle anything? wait who is this supposed to be again i think we lost Vash the Stampede on like layer 5
22. your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores
I REALLY WISH YOU GUYS PAID MORE ATTENTION TO THE OTHER PLANTS………. they’re so cool and sweet and i love vash’s relationship with them, i wish we saw more of them interacting in general!!

7.) Ship the antis in your fandom like, but you think is hella problematic?
and
8.) Ship that is (presented as) cute in canon/fanon, but you think is problematic anyway.
If you want ofc.
Holy shit I didn't think anyone would ask me anything, thank you so much!!
I'm... so sorry for the oncoming rants. Oh boy lol.
CW for mentions of coercion toward the end
7) Chansaw. Chansaw, Chansaw, Chansaw. Without a sliver of a shadow of a doubt.
Antis like it because WLW, and as we all know, WLW >>>>> HET ALWAYS. And also, WLW is never toxic because they say so, and if you disagree, you're an ugly pedo rape apologist! HET BAAAAAD, WLW GOOOOOOOD! uwu! Because, you see, when a boy pulls your pigtails because he likes you, it's problematic. But when a girl pulls your pigtails because she likes you, suddenly it's all right! Because it's different when it's a GIRL. She's not a BOY, so it's different, see? Because if it's a BOY, it's not gay. It's m/f, not f/f, and it's less valid if it's not f/f don't you know uwu I'm so progressive and if you don't like this specific ship UM you're homophobic 💀💀💀 l + ratio + bozo /S
Never mind the fact there's literally three other girls to choose from, so this is hardly the only wlw ship we have to work with or perish. 5/8 of the students are girls, and Ms. Flem is the only notable adult. Never mind that all Chandler and Veronica do is butt heads the entire time they're on screen together. At least when Veronica got together with J.D., she actually liked him. He had nothing to offer her, yet she still decided he was worth the trouble and only realized she dun goofed later on when he proves he's not exactly safe to be around. Whereas she got with the Heathers specifically for the benefits of popularity, not because she liked them (in the musical, her exact words were "They're solid Teflon - never bothered, never harassed / I would give anything to be like that." Not them. Like that), and she paid for it with her talent of forgery.
I've seen the argument Chansaw is better because Chandler was just a bully, whereas J.D. murdered people. OBVIOUSLY no one is doubting murder is worse than bullying. Right?? That's a given (I hope). But they seem to be forgetting bullying is also bad behavior. Plus, when that's not the question being asked, any attempt to insist that's still the answer just derails and distracts from the point. The question is NOT "whose actions are more bad/who can we deem the WORSER PERSON (and therefore who DESERVES to be HATED MORE)?" but "do their actions paint them as bad people?" Murdering is bad, yes, obviously, but so is being a cunt. Veronica didn't want to murder, but she ALSO didn't want to be an asshole to others, not for shits and giggles, and definitely not to Martha Dunnstock, who's done literally nothing to anyone. I don't see how that's so hard to understand. The scale of the offense doesn't matter because that’s not the point.
8) Again, Chansaw. None of the relationships in Heathers are without some level of problematic bs, but this one kickstarts it. The story wouldn't exist if this relationship was any better than it canonically is.
Heather Chandler treats everyone around her with the utmost contempt, including Veronica Sawyer, and the fact that antis love this ship so much is one of the fandom's biggest ironies. You can't wear the "Mythic Bitch" badge with pride but recoil and screech and desperately try to reframe it as something else when she actually and unapologetically behaves like a bitch. Passing off the toxicity as romantic also goes against anti beliefs since that's romanticizing toxicity, is it not? And insisting she's actually not a bitch because "well um uhm uhhhm ackshually see what happened was like their own personal headcanon dictates she's just mean because like misunderstood uwu and like daddy issues owo and if you don’t agree their interpretation is the only valid one despite blatantly contradicting canon then did you know you're the wrongest person in the whole wide world to ever wrong and also did you know deserve the death?" is like... first of all, headcanons are just headcanons, not canon-canon, and no one has to agree with ones they don’t like, and second of all, we clearly did not watch the same story because that girl has no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
(And no! Her high school junior ass getting coerced into blowing a uni guy in the movie doesn't make her misunderstood! Sympathetic, absolutely. But there's nothing to misunderstand. Adult man pressure girl at party. Girl hate this. Girl mad. Girl mad so girl mean to friend for not getting hurt too. Friend sick. Friend want go home. Girl not let sick friend go since sick friend not hurt like girl was. Sick friend vomit. Girl mad at sick friend more. Friend mad at girl. Girl drop friend. Friend try say sorry. Girl not say sorry back. Girl not care. Friend kill girl. Friend not mean to. Girl dead. What's not to get?
Also no! Her singing her "suicide" note in the musical doesn't mean jack because we all saw her "suicide" was murder (that's literally the premise), and her murderers are writing this note to cover their asses. All the stuff they're making her say is to make it look like she murdered herself so they don't get in trouble. It can't be more obvious than it's shown! I can't believe antis are so desperate to prove they only stan Good People they choose to blatantly ignore concrete evidence of shit going on and try to insist their pure viewing is the universal interpretation of events! There's headcanon and then there's whatever this is!)

Lmao "how dare you not make fanworks of this canon bland wholesome couple with no conflict between them and no major personal flaws, you must be ableist" or the other acussation which is that you hate bald men (??? These people are shipping Lucius and his dumb sideburns and Izzy who's also not what you'd call traditionally hot??? Why would they balk at bald????). Lucius/Pete is just boring for the popular fic tropes. Like I have yet to see one person say they dislike them in canon! But there's what's good and enjoyable to see on screen as a background pairing, and there's what's going to get its claws deep enough into the brains of people who do transformative fandom to compell them to write fic about it. These two do not provide the correct brainworms.
Izzy is sort of catnip for fanfic writers which I called as soon as the oooh daddy Thing happened. He's a mess and so are all of his possible relationships (also kinky on main without wanting to be kinky on main) but at the same time if you go the "if you touch him right he melts" or "if someone railed him he'd calm down" route it's also believable, bc he's a mess, so you dont have to commit to a 60K angst fest to fix his life or make it worse either. Fandom bicycle pathetic little meow meow.
It's also why so much Blackbonnet content is about their reunion when it's not pure fluff or a pwp, it's the closest bit of relationship drama that has to be resolved (even if you flatten them into uwu cinnamon roll non-pirates and thus ignore any other issues they'd need to work on to make their relationship not implode, you still have this fight to resolve! If you dont do that both of them have so much shit to work on to survive past the honeymoon phase and get better as people together that you do probably need like 70K of fic, maybe a series. This is why they're the central relationship in canon lol. Given the Steddyhands fic Ive read it seems to me to have hit bc if you put Izzy in that mix it's so volatile they HAVE to talk shit out they cant just ignore their problems for 48 chapters without Izzy leaving or dying of stress??)
Cant comment on how the actors being hot factors here bc im too ace to tell when none of them are like. Hollywood Hot/a model?? They're too normal people I could see on the street in real life to like. Rank.
it's just silly because this keeps popping up about the canon pairings as if izzy's going to steal their spot and it's like?? that is not a threat?? i'm trying to not be too heavy on ship hate or whatever but iont even like Lucius/Pete as a pair, but ik they're gonna stay canon and i hope they do bc lots of people enjoy them! but otherwise fandom's just a lil sandbox for me to play in and i wanna see izzy kiss ppl.
i think the "this is problematic" discourse is funny though because i think people are struggling to find a way to make it more woke when both ships are literally white m/m with not much else. you can't even argue a problematic age gap since izzy and pete's actors are only 4 years apart. (lucius confirmed for on a dilf hunt btw) so you just get stuck with "conventionally attractive" which i stg is discourse that only ever happens around white men. (tbf i think people are super out of pocket when they say a poc isn't conventionally attractive. like someone said taika was unconventionally attractive once and like dude. taika is hot in a very like traditionally handsome way??)
and then it's odd because i feel like it's like?? kinda an appropriation of the language used when talking about the racial biases people have against characters of color in fandom. it is an issue when character of color are sidelined or erased in favor of white characters. or sometimes people just? erase canon aspects of characters/pairings to make them flatter than they actually are. like people call jim/olu a fluffy low stress ship, but they're not? their meet cute is a murder and they have ups and downs with separations and communication issues. i do legit think if they were two skinny white cis men that people would be more on them with writing angst and other drama, but :/
either way that concept's being stretched too far where people keep talking about ships where izzy usually just replaces another white guy so what does it matter. even if people wanted the pair to breakup in canon and be replaced with izzy it like... doesn't matter? representation isn't being lost? who cares lol.
i think maybe people just need to work on their propaganda or smth tbh like i didn't find con oneil hot at first and im p sure i got brainwashed into being super into him by fandom. maybe people need to stop complaining about pete being bald and just start talking about wanting to slap him on his bald ass head while topping him and get the tumblr girlies in on the action

Secret Santa Cheat Sheet
lol
OK so I realized the secret santa intro post I made turned into a nightmare of incomprehensible rambling. Stating now that I do honestly love like, all content with them so anything is good if none of these ideas feel right for you, my beloved santa of secrets <3
Broad Ideas~
-Soft DCA, solo, with each other, with the kids, with YN, just. Soft uwu
-Unhinged. I love the 'about to snap' looks, the 'ive just committed a warcrime' energy, and the 'someone is actively getting redacted' action stuff.
-Hurt/Comfort, either direction, doesn't need to be canon for an AU, I'm just weak for hurt/comfort.
-Surprise moments of trust. Stuff where one is just kinda surprised by the other, the hand is 'offered' for the first time, or the offered hand is 'accepted' for the first time, literal or metaphorical.
-Spicy Humor XD I cackle whenever I see it, and I am not shy to the spice at all, but dirty jokes with the DCA absolutely send me.
Specific Ideas~
-Story time with Sun/Moon, high energy or soft and quiet, maybe the kids are around and totally engaged, maybe it's just them and a YN they're trying to get to take a nap as well, maybe there's no book and they're making it up on the go with a broad motion to demonstrate the ~adventure~ (I love this idea and there's so much that can be done with it)
-DCA being a little shit at children's games vs YN. They aren't going easy on them. At all. Impossible angles in twister, definitely not cheating at cards, ruining friendships with connect four, YN absolutely devastated/aggravated/exasperated at the fact they haven't won a single game in ages.
-Hide and Seek/Tag. With Sun it could be fun and cute. With Moon it's a race for YNs life.
-Gremlin Moon. Contortionist Moon. Impossibly bendy flexible Moon. (ALTERNATELY SAME POSES BUT FOR SUN cause we don't get enough bendy Sun)
-Romantic flirty stuff with DCA/YN shenanigans, cause I'm a simp.
-Semi-canon reveal shot of Eclipse for the first time. A YN pov thing, where the two have 'done the thing' and now they're staring at a third version of the DCA, and it's looking back at them. Was it an emergency situation that brought this on? A warring of the two boys that split control? A third presence that forced it's way out? Did the glitch from Balloon World take over? Did they agree to bring him out as a surprise? I know I said specific but hhh there's just so many ways to go with Eclipse.
AU Specific Ideas~
-Sea Creatures/Mer - art one probably- YN in the water with the first meeting of Sun and/or Moon, just that 'hovering under the surface' vibe with them eyeing each other warily.
-SC/M - One of the boys trying to snag a bite of whatever YN brought for lunch. Whether they win or lose is up to you.
-SC/M - Eclipse with one of his pups, a teeny fluffy thing, him content floating on his back with the little one on his chest, or him sitting menacingly on dry land staring snarly at the viewer while the little thing plays on him/under and around his arms.
-Hands On Experience - Sun walking around with YN on day one, hands under their arms like a wet kitten, or with YN balanced on their hip like a child lmao. This happens more than once in my mind, and YN might be ok with it, or they might be gently annoyed by it but he still gets away with stuff like this too much lol.
-HOE - Back rub time after a long day with unruly children.
-HOE - Nap time on Sun while he's petting YNs hair. (this one would prob be more art? but I'm down for more sleepy time drabbles <3)
-HOE - YN cleaning crayon and marker scribbles off Sun after a rough arts and crafts session.
-Doordash AU -silly art one - DECK THEM OUT IN THE DOORDASH SHIRT/VISOR lmao. Basically just Red shirt with the doordash logo, black Visor with the doordash D on it XD
-Forgotten But Not Gone - Fully feral moon chase through the abandoned daycare. It's not big so it would be a quick run if they don't get caught. Nonverbal Moon, terrified YN. Close calls are fun uwu.
-FBNG - DCA won't let go of YN, like a hand on the wrist, tight or not, just. Clingy. Is YN trying to casually go home and they want them to stay? Is YN just vibing and letting them have the contact? Was YN trying to run away?
-Sometimes It's Worth The Risk- BAD FLIRTING FROM YN at Sun/Moon. Just. Bad pickup lines. Awful flirting tactics. The fluster and shock of being flirted back with and losing their cool entirely. The 'OH NO HE'S HOT' reaction mentality. They're just one dumb idiot that's got the butterflies for the robot lmao.

alr break down sucrose for the ask game baby boy
hehehe <3
Give me a character and I'll break them down
Tumblr media
How I feel about this character
ADHD coded as all hell. (cld also be interpreted as autism but wtv a sprinkle of both) I love her very very dearly. familial f/o i never talk abt. also nonbinary coded but wtv, i digress. also. foxgirl ty. anyways i love her she's my favourite anemo character, genuinely want more than anything to help her and encourage the SI more than anything.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
... none? really?
Non-romantic OTP for this character
Bennett. actually. I think it started back in Ye Old Childe Main days, when my main team was Childe, Beidou, Bennett, Sucrose. and I'd actively make interaction hcs for my team. I think they'd balance each other out really well.
Unpopular Opinion about this character
please ohmygod for the love of fuck please stop sayings she's a 9w1 she's obviously a 4w5 how can you not see it. have you never? fucking? read her character stories? her voicelines? stop reading her as a shy uwu babey bean and typing her as a 9. she's literally trying to make her own world via alchemy for her friends if that's not aboslutely a 4 thing then i don't fucking know what is. also the Oh My God She's An Alchemist She's Obviously An INTP literally shut up her profession doesn't have to do jack shit w her MBTI. literally fucking look at her lore. anyways yeah INFP 469/459 sucrose my beloved.
One thing I wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon
really? more screentime. more character interactions from different reigons. (...sucrose/xiao agenda kinda getting to me ngl. I can see the appeal, platonically.) maybe a sucrose hangout idk that sounds really fun. need more sucrose content overall ngl

Your blog is great! Can I please get just some general Billy and Stu headcanons? Maybe stuff about their childhoods or likes and stuff. literally all of your headcanons are my canons, I live for them bestie UwU
DON'T MAKE ME CRY ANON. Thank you so much for the kind words! Did some head canons on their home life for ya under the cut!
Billy:
Billy's father, Hank, sucks ass. He barely interacts with Billy unless it's to scold him. He felt it was the woman's job to handle the child in near all aspects of parenting. His job as a lawyer kept him busy and out of the house, and when he wasn't at work he was at the bar with coworkers. After Mrs. Loomis left, he became even more distant.
Mrs. Loomis smothered Billy. Because she was a housewife and Hank was never home, she latched on to Billy out of loneliness. She ardently defended him, effectively becoming his yes man, and was often the only one he could turn to. It's why Billy was so attached to her. She was also neurotic, and often on and off meds.
Billy's social standing is high, but strange. On one hand, he's handsome, mysterious, and confident. On the other, he was never the jock or the delinquent. So he wasn't popular in the traditional sense, he was popular because he radiated sheer confidence and never let anyone mess with him. He was never bullied, and if anything was the bully if he felt someone deserved it.
Unsurprising, but Billy has absolutely no fashion sense. He has multiple white T shirts, jeans in all shades of denim, a couple of dark jackets, a polo here and there, a pair of boots and a pair of sneakers.
Billy never had a pet. He always wanted a dog when he was younger, but his father never allowed it. And Mrs. Loomis herself didn't try and convince him otherwise since she felt Billy didn't need a dog when he had her.
Billy didn't have many close friends growing up, or at least none that weren't surface level. It's not like he didn't have any, just none that he would consider even close to Stu and later Y/N's level.
Despite this, he always had an affinity for talking to people and getting what he wanted. It's just a trait he seemed to naturally have. Maybe it runs in the family, since, as a lawyer, his dad had a way with words as well. It's because of this this that he never had a problem with interacting with people, even if he is more solitary by nature.
Stu:
Stu's parents are real estate moguls. Both of them. It's how they met. They have properties all around the West coast, as well as some East in Florida, New York, and New Jersey. They moved to Woodsboro when Stu entered 7th grade, and the house there is their 'home base' so to speak. If they were ever there that is lol.
The house Stu lives in is actually one of the most modest ones they own in terms of the house's square footage. They mainly bought it for the large plots of farmland it comes with, as they figured it's value would only go up over time.
Stu was mainly raised through nannies. His parents largely parented with their money, and Stu's "allowance" was always way more exorbitant than anything a kid should have.
Stu's parents, unlike Billy's, do genuinely think they love their son. It's why they spoil him and let him do whst he wants. However, they never thought he was too bright, so they never expected much from him. Which is a shame, because Stu is actually a pretty intelligent guy. They just don't know it since they're never around much, they just look at his grades and school suspensions and go by that.
They do want Stu set for life, and have a hefty trust fund for him as well as a cushy spot in their business for when he's ready. Under his sister ofc.
Stu was often forced to go on business trips and banquets with his parents. He actually really liked them, as long as they didnt interfere with plans he may have had. He loves the buffets and traveling is fun to him. He's much less of a fan now that he has you and Billy though, as he prefers to be with you guys instead.

Hot takes about Severus Snape are a wierdly decent glimpse into how a person with progressive values analyses things. Literally every time someone talks about Snape, it’s like this tiny window into how one-dimentionally people actually think.
Recently saw a twitter post that was a fantastic example. Here’s how it goes (paraphrasing):
Person A:“Snape is POC and Queer coded, that’s why you guy’s hate him uwu lol.”
Person B: “Actually I hate him because he was mean and abusive to children under his care uwu but go off I guess lol”
Both of these takes are designed to be dramatic and/or reactionary. They each use partial truths to paint very broad strokes. These are get-em-in-one-hit quips. This is virtue signalling, if you’ll excuse that loaded phrase. Nobody had a substantial conversation, but now everyone who sees their statement knows the high ground they took.
At least a hundred other people chimed in to add their own little quippy hot takes into play, none of which add anything significant, but clearly made everyone feel very highly of themselves.
So many layers of nuance and complex analysis is completely lost in this kind of discussion. On tumblr, you get more of this kind of bullshit, but you don’t have a word count limit, so you guys just spew endless mountains of weak overblown evidence backing up your bullshit arguments, none of which was really about engaging in a real conversation anyway.
Here’s the thing about Snape.
He is a childhood domestic abuse victim. His abuser is a muggle.
He becomes a student at a magical school that takes him away from his abuser and immediately instills in him the idea that being a part of this magical world is a badge of self-worth, empowerment, and provides safety and security - provided that he keeps in line.
There is a war is being waged in that world over his right to exist (he is a half blood).
He is a marginalized person within the context of the narrative, forced to constantly be in the same living space as the children of his own oppressors who are being groomed and recruited into a hate group militia (the pureblood slytherins). They are in turn trying to do the same to him.
He is marginalized person bullied by children who are also part of his oppressor group, but who have “more liberal” leanings and aren’t direct about why he’s being targeted (the mauraders are all purebloods, Sirius, who was the worst offender, was raised in a bigoted household, the same one that produced Bellatrix.).
He had a crush on a girl who is a muggleborn, and therefore she is considered even lesser than him and carries a stigma to those who associate with her. That girl was his only real friend. In his entire life.
For both Snape and Lily, allying themselves to a pureblood clique within their own houses would be a great way of shielding themselves from a measure of the bigotry they were probably facing. There would have been obvious pressure from those cliques to disconnect with one and other.
Every other person who associates with Snape in his adulthood carries some sort of sociopolitical or workplace (or hate cult) baggage with their association. Some of them will physically harm and/or kill him if he steps out of line. He hasn’t at any point had the right environment to heal and adjust from these childhood experiences. Even his relationship with Dumbledore is charged with constant baggage, including the purebloods who almost killed him during their bullying getting a slap on the wrist, the werewolf that almost killed him as a child being placed in an authority position over new children, etc. Dumbledore is canonically manipulative no matter his good qualities, and he has literally been manipulating Snape for years in order to cultivate a necessary asset in the war.
He is a person who is not in the stable mental state necessary to be teaching children, whom has been forced to teach children. While also playing the role of double agent against the hate group militia, the one that will literally torture you for mistakes or backtalk or just for fun. The one that will torture and kill him if he makes one wrong move.
Is the math clicking yet? From all of this, it’s not difficult to see how everything shitty about Snape was cultivated for him by his environment. Snape was not given great options. Snape made amazingly awful choices, and also some amazingly difficult, courageous ones. Snape was ultimately a human who had an extremely bad life, in which his options were incredibly grim and limited.
In fact, pretty much every point people make about how shitty Snape is as a person makes 100% logical sense as something that would emerge from how he was treated. Some if it he’s kind of right about, some of it is the inevitable reality of suffering, and some of it is part of the cycle of abuse and harm.
Even Snape’s emotional obsession with Lily makes logical sense when you have the perspective that he literally has no substantial positive experiences with other human beings that we know of, and he has an extreme, soul destroying guilt complex over her death. Calling him an Incel mysoginist nice guy projects a real-world political ideology and behavior that does not really apply to the context of what happened to him and her.
Even Snape’s specific little acts of cruelty to certain students is a reflection of his own life experiences. He identifies with Neville; more specifically, he identifies his own percieved emotional weaknesses in his childhood in Neville. There’s a very sad reason there why he feels the urge to be so harsh.
Snape very clearly hates himself, in a world where everyone else hates him, too. Imagine that, for a second. Imagine total internal and external hatred, an yearning for just a little bit of true connection. For years. Imagine then also trying to save that world, even if it’s motivated by guilt. Even if nobody ever knows you did it and you expect to die a miserable death alone.
There are more elements here to consider, including the way Rowling described his looks (there may be something in there re: ugliness and swarthy stereotyping). These are just the things that stand out the most prominently to me.
J.K. Rowling is clearly also not reliable as an imparter of moral or sociopolitical philosophies. I don’t feel that her grasp of minority experiences is a solid one, considering how she picks and chooses who is acceptable and who is a threat.
All of that said, this is a logically consistent character arc. Within the context of his narrative, Snape is a marginalized person with severe PTSD and emotional instability issues who has absolutely no room available to him for self-improvement or healing, and never really has. And yes, he’s also mean, and caustic, and verbally abusive to the students. He’s also a completey miserable, lonely person.
There are elements in his character arc that mirror real world experiences quite well. If nothing else, Rowling is enough of an emotional adult to recognise these kinds of things and portray something that feels authentic.
In my opinion, it’s not appropriate to whittle all this down by comparing him directly to the real world experiences of marginalized groups - at least if you are not a part of the group you are comparing him to. There have been many individuals who have compared his arc to their own personal experiences of marginalization, and that is valid. But generally speaking, comparing a white straight dude to people who are not that can often be pretty offensive. This is not a valuable way to discuss either subject.
Also, I believe that while it’s perfectly okay to not like Snape as a character, many of the people who act like Person B are carrying Harry’s childhood POV about Snape in their hearts well into their own adulthood. And if nothing else, Rowling was attempting to say something here about how our perspectives (should) grow and change as we emotionally mature.  She doesn’t have to be a good person herself to have expressed something true about the world in this instance, and since this story is a part of our popular culture, people have a right to feel whatever way they do about this story and it’s characters.
The complexity of this particular snapshot of fictionalized marginalization, and what it reveals about the human experience, cannot be reduced down to “he’s an abuser so he’s not worth anyone’s time/you are bad for liking him.”
And to be honest, I think that it reveals a lot about many of us in progressive spaces, particularly those of us who less marginalized but very loud about our values, that we refuse to engage with these complexities in leu of totally condemning him. Particularly because a lot of the elements I listed above are indeed reflected in real world examples of people who have experienced marginalization and thus had to deal with the resulting emotional damage, an mental illness, and behavior troubles, and bad decisions. Our inability to address the full scope of this may be a good reflection of how we are handling the complexity of real world examples.
Real people are not perfect angels in their victimhood. They are just humans who are victims, and we all have the capacity to be cruel and abusive in a world where we have been given cruelty and abuse. This is just a part of existing. If you cannot sympathise with that, or at least grasp it and aknowledge it and respect the people who are emotionally drawn to a character who refects that, then you may be telling on yourself to be honest.
To be honest, this is especially true if you hate Snape but just really, really love the Mauraduers. You have a right to those feelings, but if you are moralizing this and judging others for liking Snape, you’ve confessed to something about how you’ve mentally constructed your personal values in a way I don’t think you’ve fully grasped yet.
I have a hard time imagining a mindset where a story like Snape’s does not move one to empathy and vicarious grief, if I’m honest. I feel like some people really just cannot be bothered to imagine themselves in other people’s shoes, feeling what they feel and living like they live. I struggle to trust the social politics of people who show these kinds of colors, tbh.
But maybe that’s just me.

Another totally unprompted ask, on the assumption that you are definitely no longer in need of them… another thing I’m trying to work out about Loki characterisation in preparation for perpetrating fic torture on him is how suicidal the poor sod is most of the time. This is another thing I’ve seen referred to a lot but only in passing. Though obviously this is a pretty triggery topic, so ignore if you want.
Tumblr media
I am always in need of totally unprompted asks, otherwise I just assume no one wants to talk to me lmao
So, hoo boy. I have been mulling over this for, apparently, three days now bc there's just ... there's a lot to unpack here. Putting under a cut for obviously triggery content and also for length bc fml.
In my opinion, the response to "how suicidal is Loki most of the time" is "very, but whether or not he wants to do anything about it varies from moment to moment" (see what I did there? I'll see myself out). In other words, I have always had a headcanon that Loki is consistently, passively suicidal. This is a headcanon that comes straight from TDW, bc I'm certain that Loki never had any intention of surviving their mission. And that could be a whole other post, really, but the point is that even though this is a TDW-centric headcanon, I have come to adopt it as applying to Loki in general as well, not just in those specific circumstances.
When I say passively suicidal, I mean that Loki is just sort of ambivalent about the value of his own life. He feels like he doesn't deserve to be alive, and feels like there's little point in being alive. Which - I don't mean to sound all gloom and doom, like, poor uwu emo Loki (and I kinda hate that I have to pause to disclaim that, no, I don't just have a fixation on Loki being depressed for funsies/the aesthetic/whatever); I think that this mindset stems from really complicated places that I'm not sure I can articulate, but I will try.
I view Loki as someone who suffers from a severe inferiority complex, and I feel like it stems from being abandoned as an infant. Loki's life started with a traumatic event and, even if he doesn't remember the event itself, the feelings he experienced stayed in his subconscious. Feelings of loss, of fear, of despair and abandonment, of suffering - these are all feelings that burrowed into his bones and lived there for his entire life, feelings that colored how Loki viewed himself as a person as well as how he compared to the people around him.
Keep in mind that Loki didn't know he was abandoned until the events of Thor 1, obviously. We don't really know how old Loki is, in human years, but I have always assumed that he and Thor were at least adults (not teenagers), maybe the equivalent of early twenties - and the reason I bring that up is because it means Loki made it all the way to adulthood carrying the weight of a trauma that he did not remember or even knew had happened, so to him, there was no real reason for how wrong he felt. There was no explanation for the feelings of loss, of neglect, of fear. So on top of struggling with those feelings, Loki was also burdened with the alienation that comes with wondering why one can't just be like everyone else, why one can't just "snap out" of depression, why one's sense of self-worth has always been lacking.
So imagine what it's like to grow up as Loki. He was traumatized as an infant. The trauma has been with him his entire life, along with the confusion/alienation of not understanding why he feels the way that he does, and then on top of that, his basic personality lends itself toward introspection and isolation, so he likely felt even further removed from Thor and from his peers. Loki's too smart for his own good, and he's got an enormous capacity to feel and I feel like this is a combination that works against him as much as it does for him, bc it probably means he spent a lot of time examining himself and identifying all of his perceived flaws - and then berating himself for said flaws.
People with depression are probably pretty familiar with the bully that lives in your head, the one who is always there to remind you that you're stupid, or ugly, or that nobody likes you, or that you have nothing of value to contribute to anyone, etc. Loki's no different; he's got that bully in his head, too. Add onto this the fact that his brother is literally perfect, that he feels his father doesn't love him (or love him as much), that his interests in things like magic are looked down on in his culture, and that he's a prince (meaning that along with the privilege comes pressure, and being in the public eye, knowing that everyone around him is comparing him to Thor as much as he compares himself to Thor, well.) and you have a total clusterfuck of a mindset, and Loki's been existing inside of that clusterfuck for nearly all of his life.
I always go back to the quote where, when filming I think the vault scene, Kenneth Branagh directs Tom by saying, "This is the moment where the thin steel rod holding your brain together snaps." And it's such a significant moment for Loki bc this is where it all crumbles for him, learning the truth, but I also fixate on the "thin steel rod" part of the quote bc that's not how one would describe a healthy, stable person's mind. The implication, to me, has always been that Loki wasn't that stable to start with due to his general upbringing, his internal struggles, and his personality, so of course the devastation of learning he's adopted, and Jotun, would send him over the edge. One doesn't go from zero to 60; one doesn't fall over the edge unless they were balancing fairly close to it in the first place. And to me, the "thin steel rod" basically equals the aforementioned clusterfuck of a mindset.
THE POINT IS. (Holy shit, I ramble.) This is the foundation on which I'm basing my headcanon that Loki neither values his life nor feels as if he even deserves to live it - bc his default mindset is one of inferiority, of loss, of pain. And I think that going from being a general unstable person pre-canon to being passively suicidal post-canon is a thing that happened because, somewhere between the vault in Thor 1 and the dungeons in TDW, Loki just stopped caring.
Life is exhausting for everyone, but even moreso when your mental load becomes more than you can carry. Loki is exhausted. His experience is that things just keep getting worse and worse for him - he's never been valued, he's always been found wanting. He discovers that he was literally thrown away as an infant, unwanted and left to die, and things haven't gotten much better for him since then. Everything that can go wrong, does go wrong. His plans spin out of control. He's unable to prove his worth and his value and when he is, in fact, rejected, he literally tries to kill himself (only to survive and end up in an even worse situation).
It all just continually goes downhill, and Loki is fucking exhausted. He's done. He has no hope that anything is ever going to change - he will never be valued or even seen, he's unable to connect to anyone, he has no family (aside from Thor, but their relationship is so fraught with pain). As far as he's concerned, his life has been nothing but a waste since he was born and if no one else values it, why should he?
So - passively suicidal. He places no value on his life, and doesn't shy away from situations that could cost him his life. It's possible that the only reason he's not actively suicidal is bc his previous attempt not only failed but led to such a horrible situation that he's probably too afraid to intentionally seek out death again. He doesn't want to fail and end up worse off for it.
And - not that you asked this in particular, but - my biggest disappointment in the series is that none of what I've just written is addressed in a satisfying way (to me). That is, we don't get any real explicit acknowledgement of the trauma of Loki's abandonment as a baby or how that affected his mental health growing up; we don't get to explore how devastated he was to learn of his adoption; we don't ever see him reconcile his ingrained belief that jotuns are monstrous savages with the fact that he is jotun. He says "I betrayed everyone I loved, but I'm different now" and we're supposed to infer what he means without Loki actually articulating why he feels that he's the only one who should be held responsible for all these things that had happened or what "I've changed" even means to him (aside from not betraying Sylvie).
I would have liked to see these things addressed for a lot of reasons, but one of those reasons is that I would want to see how Loki comes to terms with all of his issues and his pain enough that he stops being passively suicidal. We never get to see that; after TDW, the time that passes allows for Loki to kinda chill, resulting in the Ragnarok version, but if there was any real healing or recovering going on, it was happening off-screen, with the audience expected to just go with "yeah Loki was going through it for awhile but he's kinda better now."
Furthermore, much of what I've written here is based on prime Loki's development through TDW, but doesn't account for series Loki's split from that timeline nor the theme of "Lokis survive" that's so prevalent in the series. So I don't think the "passively suicidal" headcanon is really appropriate for series Loki but, at the same time, I'd like to have seen why. I'd like to have seen Loki learning to value his life, or where the "we survive" mindset comes from, since that's not really been a thing before now. (Out of universe, I suspect it comes from the context of Loki just not dying whenever he tries to, but since TDW and IW haven't happened, and Loki didn't intend to survive his fall from the bifrost, framing Loki as an innate survivor doesn't really make sense, but to be fair, I'm just being picky.)
So, yeah. I'm not saying Loki doesn't experience growth or development in the series, I'm just saying that his arc left much unsaid and, furthermore, framing his growth as "wanting a throne to not wanting a throne" without addressing that Loki doesn't actually want the power of the throne, he wants the value and self-worth he associates with the throne, is - well, again, unsatisfying. Not bad, but it leaves viewers like me wanting bc we're cognizant of how much more could have been done.
I ... am going to end this now. This is probably nonsensical and all over the place, so I'm very sorry, and I'm sure this is why I don't get meta-starter asks lmfao bc no one's out here trying to read my dissertation submission for a Ph.D in Loki, but well, sometimes it just be like that.
Thank you for the ask and the opportunity to ramble.

i was really holding on to hope that gojo could be redeemable, but after reading her interactions with toji, a decent human being, FUCK satoru. i hate gojo and sera for victimizing themselves like he didn’t agree to this marriage. me being a toji fucker aside, i want him to take y/n from gojo. i want them to start working as business partners for her designs and gojo getting pissed off bc his wife is finally doing something she enjoys with another man. none of your characters have pissed me off more than hoejo and i just want him to suffer. he doesn’t deserve y/n AT ALL, and she doesn’t deserve the pain that he puts her through. i want her to ruin his plans of becoming the heir of the company and get a divorce. i hope she can learn to put herself and her feelings before gojo’s, bc he doesn’t deserve her love.
also, i love you!!! i hope you’re doing well and taking care of yourself 💕 thank you for writing this incredible story! you’re the best!

omg hi!!! I just wanted to say that the latest chapter especially the ending had me raging 😤. The fact that gojo was literally the one who initiated seggs and has the AUDACITY to get mad at mc is so infuriating kandisnsjjdisjs. Nonetheless, IT’S SUCH A GOOD CHAPTER! Can we just run away with Toji 😔.
Ohhh nd btw your series really changed how I look at Gojo that I literally rewatched jjk and watch clips of him on yt to remind me he isn’t actually like that 😩 but pls don’t take this negatively! It’s really good how you wrote Gojo in this and manage to change our perspective on him HAHHAHAHA I can just slander him more 👉🏻👈🏻

I just re-read chapter 5 and I’m absolutely disgusted by Gojo. I wanna rip his head off. What the hell?! Its not like the mc forced him to have sex with him and ditch sera for it. and Sera? When she called mc a liar i almost threw my phone all the way to north korea. If someone deserves to be accused for being a liar it’s gojo and no one else. Both sera and gojo are disgusting individuals and I hope they rot in hell for putting the mc in such situations because she doesn’t deserve it she deserves the whole world and more. I’m so glad that Toji appeared because he is such a gentleman and a nice person I’m happy that at least he understood her pain and was able to listen to her and when he mentioned his wife? I almost teared up. I absolutely love your writing and I hope that you’ll be able to bless us with it for a long long time ❤️
P.S i hope you are doing well. Sending many kithes😘

Okay I think I get what heavy angst anon to an extent. I'm good with heavy angst (I thrive on it actually uwu) but in this particular case all the stuff that makes it heavy angst also makes it really hard to root for the main pairing bc at this point I (personally) think Gojo is like, irredeemable.
On the other hand tho I also thought that about Suna in wasteland and ended up getting hit in the feels bc of the ending so who knows. u have a weird talent for making me feel bad for assholes lmao

SATORU WHAT THE FUCK?! she's clearly is in pain and all you could think of was that she's faking it????? *googling how to enter fanfiction so i could smack tf outta him*
No hate on canon gojou tho i love that man he's powerful but SN gojou is very...... emotionally weak 😭 idc if ppl tryna defend him abt his wrecked family but he really didn't think about his children's future. Man be like: I wanna have an heir and raised them the way my dad raised me lol, have a mistress and hates on my father's mistress. Ironic, satoru. Very ironic.
And Sera... *sigh* no words on that girl. Acting like a victim as if she's not a homewrecker.
Thank you for the update 😭😭❤ can't wait for the next crying session but pls take your time 🙏

I’m one of these people that know they shouldn’t have started reading sn cause they are too sensitive (and kin Gojo) but I just couldn’t help myself and now I’m hooked 😣 I haven’t lost all hope for a happy ending yet but if it’s gonna end in a sad way it’s also ok, I’ll be here till the end anyway. Your writing is so good, please keep going 🙏🏼
Tumblr media
omg aaaa i’m sorry i cannot respond to each of u individually but i have enjoyed reading all of these!! to those who are saying that gojo is irredeemable, i get why you would think so!! i personally think he isn’t redeemable too so i’ll just do a break down of his character’s psychology
psychoanalyzing gojo 101: underneath gojo’s superiority complex is a highly insecure man with abandonment issues, an abusive father, and a lover that he couldn’t freely show to the world. this makes him think that it’s “acceptable” to put y/n through pain bc she is always granted of everything she wanted and has a loving dad and sister, while he has to constantly prove himself to get what he wants and is disconnected with his own family. they have the same status but they didn’t live the same life. he both hates and loves that he feels powerful next to y/n and is insecure without her, thinking that his worth would not be twice as important if he didn’t marry an heiress that would make him successful. he is trying to utilize y/n the same way his dad uses him as a pawn which is why he frequently shows signs of manipulation to get what he wants. but as one anon pointed out, he only wants sera but he needs y/n. sera is a luxury, y/n is a necessity. he does not understand the true meaning of love beyond pleasures and fantasies. he rejects the idea of caring for someone who is willing to understand his darkest days. gojo, as simply put, is a selfish, stubborn, and complex individual who looks powerful and independent on the outside when in truth, he is dependent on the people he loves and is vulnerable on the inside — his dad sees through him that’s why he’s able to mess with his son’s mind.

Hello, Can i have a Nekoma, Seijoh and Inarizaki with a reader. She is a analysis specialist and very knowledge about herb, she know how to make medicine and help a person who get injure, disease, sickness and. She is very short (about 4'8 ;-;) and very caring, rarely smile and talk. But she will softly smile and talk to calm person down when they get hurt or panic. Her smile make their day : ❤️💞💓 She help the coach when they have a headache, backache. She literally the school doctor lmao uwu
Hello cutie !! Thank you for the request <3 this is so precious, she seems like this adorable little doctor-chan, and I'd be delighted to write a headcanon for you.
Tumblr media
Doctor-chan manager
Characters: Nekoma team, Seijoh team, and Inarizaki team.
Warnings: none <3
Tumblr media
Nekoma
So the team hasn't seen you around in school, because you're always in specialised classes that help advance your talents. You're also almost always in the nurses' office, tending to injured and sick patients better than the nurse does.
The students who come in trust you completely, because you have always helped them relieve their pain with your gentle touch and wide array of herbs and natural remedies.
One day, as you are silently applying a balm to the injury of a student, he softly asks if you would be the manager of the volleyball team he's part of.
“they get hurt very easily, and it happens pretty often too. In fact, I think we have two members who are still injured, but their pride just won't allow them to seek help for it.”
You study the boy, who speaks in a soft monotonous tone, with his cat-like eyes and long hair.
You're also weighing the pros and cons of joining the team. Because you're very soft spoken and quiet, rarely showing emotion,it takes longer for people to warm up to you.
But on the other hand, you just couldn't stand to see people getting hurt, especially after knowing you had the power to save them with your talents.
You quietly nod at the boy, who later introduces himself as Kozume Kenma.
He leads you to the gym, where the team was practicing, and when they see this small, adorable girl walking behind Kenma, looking so shy and cute, they just stop practicing.
“are you kenma's girlfriend?” is the phrase you hear most of, until Kuroo, the captain, calms them down.
You quietly explain that you are not kenma's girlfriend, and that you'll be their new manager.
Your eyes swept the team when it fell on Yaku. You wordlessly walked over to him, and gently pressed a small bundle of peppermint leaves to his palm.
“to aid your headaches”, you said softly.
The team was in awe. How could you have known Yaku had headaches, and more importantly, how to cure it?
Kenma smiled, proud to find a great manager for the team, as the rest of the team bowed to you, and made your acquaintance.
They recognised that you didn't like talking or showing expressions, but they were okay with that, since Kenma was the same.
Speaking of which, you get along best with Kenma, because both of you are silent characters, who enjoy the comfort in each other's silence.
But the whole team are all very gentle with you, coming to you anytime they feel discomfort, or face an injury during practice matches.
And every time, you treat them with the bag of herbs you bring with you, and your gentle touch. It soothes and calms them, to have you care for them with such gentleness and love.
Instead of calling you "manager-chan", they call you "doctor-chan", which soars your spirits, because you've always dreamt of becoming a doctor someday.
You smile, the first time Kuroo calls you that, and the team just melts on the spot.
Their adorable, small manager is smiling, her eyes crinkling at the corners, and her cheeks rosy and red. They silently swear that they will play harder than before, and win just for her.
Just to see one of her rare smiles again.
Tumblr media
Seijoh
It's Akira who suggests you join the team
After noticing how you excel in biology class, he generally wants to know what you want to be in the future, and you shyly say "a doctor". This causes him to realise you might be able to practice on his volleyball team first.
“we're always getting hurt, and who knows? you might be able to polish your skills faster.”
You think about it carefully before nodding, holding your bag of herbs and natural remedies closer to you.
This was the start of a new journey with new people, and even though you weren't all that good in social situations, you'd try, so that someday your dream would be realised.
When you meet the team in the gym, Oikawa's eyes light up when he sees you. “hey there little cutie. Who are you?”
You're flustered, but remain expressionless. “I'm the new manager, Oikawa-san”
Oikawa is delighted at the prospect of having such a cute manager, but his thoughts are shattered as Iwaizumi spikes a ball to the back of his head.
“don't scare her off or flirt with her, shittykawa”
The team apologize for their captain, and respectfully bow and introduce themselves. You do the same, and as you look down, your eyes rest on Oikawa's knee.
It must hurt really badly, you thought.
After practice is over, you motion for Oikawa to follow you to the bench at the back of the gym. He happily does so, teasing you in the process, only to be met with silence on your part.
After he's seated, you gently undo his knee pad to find bandages beneath it.
Oikawa goes quiet, wondering how you knew. His teasing tone from earlier is fine, replaced with an anxious expression.
You gently wipe aloe mixture on his knee, and rebandage the area, being delicate and careful.
“please take care of yourself, Oikawa-san.” is all you say to him after nodding and walking off. He is touched by your kindness, and impressed by your observance, and expertise at easing his pain.
The rest of the team also experience similar encounters, where you'd take them to the bench at the back of the gym if you ever observe them facing discomfort during practice.
The team always know that the moment they're on the bench with you tending to them, all their discomfort will be eased, and their worries will disappear.
They associate you with a sense of comfort and familiarity, and love how you always seem to know what's the right thing to do.
You have a calming affect on all the members, especially Iwaizumi and Kyotani.
The team want to express their gratitude for all you've done for them, so they search high and low for a book on herbs that you might like, and gift it to you as a thank-you gift.
They will never forget the way you smiled at them, realising it's the first time they've made you smile, and thank you wholeheartedly for being their precious manager doc.
[I don't know if it's canon that Oikawa has a knee injury, but I thought it would be fine to add it into my writing, since it fits the prompt quite well]
Tumblr media
Inarizaki
You would be quietly researching herbs and spices in the school garden, when you come face to face with Kita Shinsuke, captain of the school's volleyball team.
He's surprised to see you there, because students aren't usually interested in plants, so he strikes up a conversation with you.
You tell him that you're a specialist at easing pains and injuries with the help of natural remedies.
Kita is extremely impressed, and invites you to be the team manager, where you might be able to further polish your skills, and you readily accept the sensible captain's invitation.
The next day, you follow Kita to the gym, where the team immediately takes a liking to you because you're so small and lovely.
Atsumu ruffles your hair immediately and introduces himself, whilst Osamu nods at you with a small smile.
Suna compliments you, telling you that you have a nice calming smell to your presence, which leads you to unveil your bag, filled with herbs.
Kita explains your talents to the rest of the team, and you do a small demonstration by applying a homemade rosemary, orange and lemon balm on the wrists of the team.
You quietly explain that it would help with their concentration, and true enough, their performance rate increases during the practice session, leaving them feeling revitalised and energised.
They think of you as the ideal manager, and are all very attentive to your needs. They don't think it's fair if it's only you looking out for them and tending to them, and therefore are always observant of you.
Atsumu once notices that the day is colder than usual and drapes his volleyball jacket on your shoulders, engulfing your small frame.
The rest of the team stop to look at you, and their hearts are so warm, they can't help it. The sight of you in their volleyball team's huge jacket is way too adorable.
You give it back to Atsumu at the end of practice, and he's delighted to find his jacket smelling like the mixture of herbs you always smelled like.
The team then start borrowing you stuff often too, because they love it when you return it to them and leave it smelling warm and comforting, exactly like you.
They also know that you don't show your expressions on your face, so it's hard to gauge how you're feeling, but after time and experience, they are able to understand your feelings better, eventhough you don't show it on your face.
You are a lifesaver in their matches, and one instance is when you were able to rid Aran of his muscle cramps, allowing him to make the winning spike.
Atsumu hoists you on his shoulders when they win, and despite all the commotion and excitement, they look up to see you smiling, your eyes shining and small laughs coming out of your mouth silently.
You couldn't help it, they were all just too precious to you.
The team almost sheds a tear after seeing you with that expression of pure joy on your face, and they ruffle your hair gently, thanking you for always being by their side and constantly being a driving force for their achievements.
Kita states that the best choice he's ever made was inviting you to become manager.
You smile softly once again, and retort back in your head that agreeing was your best decision.
Tumblr media
Hello hello! I hope that was good. It's one of the softest manager headcanons I've written in quite a while, since I was trying a new style, and I absolutely love it :))

ok i have a rant. mittelfrank-divas is becoming the fandom police and its ruining the fandom. like every time someone makes a post (not even necessarily in the main tags) that is remotely related to their brloved waifu (hell even ionius) they start vague posting about it in a super manipulative way. it annoys me how manipulative they are and how huge of a following they have. i wish more people could call them out but they hide behind their little "I'm just an innocent littol fan uwu" persona and it's so manipulative AHHHHHH
i was just talking to nils about her in private when i got this. mittlefrank-divas is… uh… an interesting presence in the fandom imo though i wouldn’t say a good one.
i simply don’t understand what her main goal is. she seems to have an almost all encompassing need to make edelgard a victim (which she is in some regards) in any situation that could paint her negatively. like she talks about how thales groomed her and has her on a leash like a puppy or something and says that him saying duscur was done for her benefit was just him being abusive? bc if that’s true then why was the tragedy done? what was its purpose other than to help pave the way for edelgard? did he just do it for shits and giggles?
yet despite this she gets so defensive over ionius for some fucking reason. like don’t you want edel to be a victim? well there you go. conquest was all daddy’s idea and edel was groomed to follow what he said. and tbh i don’t think she has actually read the theory bc she seems to be under the impression that we think ionius was behind the insurrection??? which no… nobody thinks that bc it’s stupid. the insurrection and the experiments were two different events with the opposite end goals.
the insurrection was done bc daddy hresvelg wanted to hold all power in the empire and destroyed house hrym for trying to leave for the alliance and sent twsitd mages to house ordelia since he was the only one in charge at that time. the other nobles are rightfully scared and stage a coup for the end goal of disposing the emperor’s power.
the experiments were done for the explicate purpose in creating a peerless emperor that could gain all the power. why on fucking earth would the nobility take power away from the emperor and then immediately give power to the emperor? besides the nobility have no ties to twsitd only ionius does as stated earlier.
like… those goals are in complete separate directions… and if the writers came out today and said that ionius was not involved at all and it was all on the nobility, ionius is still a weird guy bc he goes to garreg mach as an adult man and picks up a student to be his sex doll bc that’s literally what a concubine is. like at the bare minimum in canon he’s a weird adult who fell in love with an underage girl, killed an entire bloodline, wanted to be a tyrant, and allowed children as young as two be tortured and killed at ordelia. why would you even want to defend him in the first place?
and none of this is touching on diva’s weird habit of using false equivalencies and apparently not knowing what imperialism is since she claimed dimitri did it was well by taking the alliance which isn’t that at all. there was no political or military post in the alliance from the kingdom there to take autonomy from the nation. they went there to help preserve that right to independent rule and was just given the alliance by unanimous vote.
and like you said she has this persona of being a fan girl who just likes meta but gets defensive when you tell her that something she said goes directly against canon. if it goes against canon then it’s fanfic not meta. if you don’t abide by the laws of the game’s universe then you can’t make serious takes on it since it has to be founded in the games text. i just don’t understand how her mind works.

I feel like I need to make a post like this so people dont keep Assuming what I think so have my detailed opinions on the characters. I'll be main tagging this bc I havent main tagged anything in SO long and I wanna find more people who share the same character opinions as me.
My opinions on characters have heavily grown and changed in the last few months so I thought I'd write this so people are aware my current thoughts and dont take my old biased posts from January or February as how I feel now
This is c!Dream critical (I guess? I mean he's a villain) but that's about it. I talk about character flaws and bad things characters do but not in a critical way? Bc I say these things about some of my fav characters. If you think something is too critical tell me and I'll tag it
What I Do think about c!Tommy: He is a kid who has been wrongfully accused of "causing all the wars on the server" and "ruining the peaceful server" when none of this is true. Him being a kid doesnt excuse when he does wrongdoings but he Does grow and learn from them and you can See him trying to become a better person. He lashes out due to trauma responses and has been through a lot. He's very misunderstood by a lot of the fandom and blamed for a Lot of stuff he didnt do. Characters are usually given a free pass by the fandom to hurt him. I dont think it's a coincidence that "dont judge characters by how nice they are to c!Tommy" is posted literally only by fans of the characters who hurt c!Tommy and nobody else. Everything he does is framed in a more malicious light than it was by the fandom and he's treated as more of a Problem or a Burden than an actual human being. He makes me sad. As someone who's watched him from the very beginning of the server (found him nearly a year ago :] ) you can tell how much he's changed and grown as a person, people wrongfully accuse his character of "he doesnt get character development he just gets trauma" when that's not true and you can tell this by what he's been saying and doing in the last few lore streams. He's still traumatized and easily manipulated yes, that's not gonna go away, but he still has moments where he stands up for himself and just,, the way he talks about c!Wilbur man,,
What I Dont think about c!Tommy: He's never done anything wrong! He's just a kid so all his actions are excused uwu! Poor baby traumatized boy!! X Character hurt my Fav Boy so they're automatically a Villain! Never done anything wrong in his life every other character is bad. Him killing c!Jack was the most fucked up thing he's done despite him not knowing it was a canon death and he Has hurt other people either unintentionally or when he's at his lowest moments and lashing out
What I Do think about c!Wilbur: He has been wrongfully accused of and butchered to hell and back by the fandom for "villainising c!Dream" when there's next to no evidence that this is true, people base all their opinions of him from... c!Dream's actions as if he's the reason for them, when he isnt. He's accused of being "bad from the start", or a "dictator" or "coloniser" when you can go back and SEE he wasnt. I find it kinda odd that he's blamed for villainising the guy who slaughtered him and the rest of his group when he barely even fought back. You can see his spiralling and paranoia started After the L'Manberg war. I barely even talk about Pogtopia era or Current era c!Wilbur. He hurt a lot of people which I think is important to be acknowledged and I dislike that there's more criticism towards him for something he Didnt do rather than the bad things he Did do. He's a very redeemable and sympathetic villain though very destructive and the cause of a lot of trauma. it's kinda weird to refer to his death as "abandoning people" too. He is not healthy for c!Tommy to be around. You shouldn't take everything Current c!Wilbur says at face value (glances at the "I dont care about L'Manberg" thing. I promise you as someone who was there for the entirety of OG L'Manberg that he cared a lot, didnt create L'Manberg for a malicious reason, didnt control his citizens, etc) L'Manberg wasnt the drug van btw
c!Wilbur 🤝 c!Tommy: Wrongful scapegoats for the servers issues
What I Dont think about c!Wilbur: He's mentally ill so that excuses everything and its ableist to get mad at him!! He was a morally good paragon of light during the L'Manberg era! L'Manberg was a pure utopia uwu! c!Wilbur didnt hurt people on purpose so therefore they cant be mad at him..
What I Do think about c!Dream: He's not as sympathetic as he's portrayed to be by the fandom, and a lot of characters are very incredibly wrongfully blamed for his actions/causing his downfall? When it's not true. L'Manberg turned nobody against him that didnt already have bad feelings towards him (...so basically just c!Wilbur and c!Tommy) and he remained a respected leader of the SMP after L'Manberg's creation. He still had friends, only one person questioned him (Skeppy) based on his own word but then sided with him anyway. He never spoke about c!Wilbur like, ever, and repeatedly only focused on c!Tommy, even during the L'Manberg war. The fandom assigns motives for him that just dont match up - for example his reasoning for declaring war being "sometimes you just gotta kill some people" but the fandom saying "he was doing what he had to / he just wanted to restore peace!" Which just,, doesnt paint him in a good light anyway? Ive been watching since Last July and it's weird to see him painted as some peaceful mediator when he has always been involved in chaos. His reasoning for a lot of things is "I enjoy destruction" or "you're too fun" with no evidence to prove otherwise as you can hear him cheering, laughing or having fun during conflicts, even after he beats down and slaughters the L'Manbergians unnecessarily. That doesnt match up with the fandom's "he just wanted peace back" motive at all... Here's some essays I've made about his character that touch on how I feel about him: [Essay 1] (please read this one I'm so proud of it it shows how I feel the most and it's my least critical one) [Essay 2] [Essay 3] [Essay 4]
What I dont think about c!Dream: I dont think he deserves torture. He deserves what's happening in prison. In fact, I very rarely talk about the prison arc because it makes me uncomfortable. I've been an advocate of "punishment does nothing but make things worse" in regards to c!Tommy and people have taken that to mean I think punishment is making c!Dream better? He confuses me - I dont think he's being manipulative in prison when he shows his feelings and I've never said as such. I don't feel sympathy towards the guy at all and I mainly talk about season 1-season 2 c!Dream.
What I Do think about c!Techno: I disagree with his actions and feel he went to extremes that he shouldn't have, and hurt innocent people (glances at Ghostbur on Doomsday) that didnt need to be dragged into it and weren't part of the Butcher Army. He's not very considerate of other people's feelings. This is more of a character flaw and not a reason to think he's badly written or dislikable in my opinion. He has some of my favourite moments (the entirety of November 16th, I enjoyed The Butcher Army stuff and the Bedrock Bros arc) I tend to relate to him a lot I'm gonna be honest? I find it hard to criticize him for The Festival despite disagreeing with what he did because I Always put myself in his shoes as someone with severe social anxiety. I just cant help it man. I struggle to differentiate Fanon c!Techno and Canon c!Techno because regardless of what he does he radiates vibes of "man I feel bad for this dude". I look at him and I feel sympathy and I can never pinpoint Why. I used to be very c!Techno critical but that was back when I was admittedly very biased and felt too salty at his fans shitting on c!Tommy everywhere I looked to bother looking into his character properly
What I Dont think about c!Techno: He's emotionless, monotone, unable to care for people, any other borderline ableist stereotype similar to this. I dont think he's evil or The Worst or irredeemable I literally just dislike Doomsday and that's it at this point jdkfkf I also dont think "victim complex" is the right word to use, i used to say that about him and yeah i disagree now
What I Do think about c!Philza: My feelings on him are still very mixed as I've read a lot of conflicting opinions on him from both sides and I havent came out with a conclusion yet? I dont think he can be considered a villain despite Doomsday and I think he Genuinely thought he was doing what was right and was still hurting from c!Wilbur's death. It's been a WHILE since Doomsday so I feel bad holding that against him when he hasnt done anything like that since,, I think he cares about his son a lot and there's no evidence to say he was a neglectful father to him, however I disagree with how he treated Ghostbur. Whether he saw him as a son or not, Ghostbur saw him and had memories of him as a dad :( I think it's understandable why he'd feel uncomfortable around Ghostbur but man. Again he's another character I struggle to differentiate Fanon and Canon with but he has some of the prettiest fanart so I dont mind. When thinking about c!Philza my brain is stuck in the Season 2 era I'll be honest
What I Dont think about c!Philza: He's c!Tommy's dad and a shit father. He was neglectful and uncaring to c!Wilbur. He has no right to be mad at New L'Manberg/c!Tubbo/c!Fundy. Again its understandable if you see his POV on things Why he felt the way he did
What I Do think about c!Fundy: Underrated boy has one of the best character arcs and was one of my fav characters back during September-November 2020. I really really enjoyed all his moments in season 1 (sorry if I dont ever talk much about season 3 my hyperfixation was at its strongest during season 1) and his entire POV is just so underrated?? People say Coconut2020 came out of nowhere or dont take him seriously but I have an entire essay on his POV during the Manberg vs Pogtopia arc, why he ran for president, etc etc. His relationships with c!Niki, c!Eret and c!Schlatt are so very underrated. I'll let the essay I linked say the rest
What I Dont think about c!Fundy: While I enjoy him a lot I dont think he's without flaws and he Has Genuinely Hurt people in the past without really meaning to / thinking of the consequences (not telling c!Niki he was a spy before burning her flag, disowning c!Wilbur, etc) again this is a Character Flaw not a reason to dislike him. Character Flaws Good
What I Do think about c!Tubbo: He's a very very smart character, smarter than a lot of people let on. He's usually treated as an extension of other characters (people complain about him being an extension of c!Tommy but in an attempt to get away from that they instead treat him like an extension of c!Ranboo... especially with the fights over who's "better" for him). I dont think him bottling up and repressing his trauma is healthy and he needs to talk about it man he was done so dirty. I think about c!Tubbo being a victim of the Final Control Room, being made into Schlatt's right hand man, being shot with a firework, being thrown into presidency, being forced to exile his best friend, trusting c!Dream who manipulated him and then berated him in front of a crowd, having his entire nation being blown up to bedrock and then compared to Schlatt, nearly being murdered, etc etc like. Jesus Christ! Its uncomfortable how his execution is treated so trivially because "he forgave c!Techno" and people get annoyed when its brought up like ,,,
What I Dont think about c!Tubbo: I don't agree with The Butcher Army situation. I dont think it was justified bc again the whole "punishment doesnt work" thing but I feel it was incredibly understandable why c!Tubbo would wanna do that. I think he had a lot more say in the situation than people let on, but yeah c!Quackity was the main instigator
What I do think about c!Quackity: His season 1 lore is so underrated please watch it from his POV!! He's treated similarly to c!Wilbur, "bad from the start". If you dont watch his POV you miss so many pivotal moments like him talking with c!Niki about possibly overthrowing Schlatt, him secretly freeing c!Niki when Schlatt imprisoned her, him feeling incredibly uncomfortable with Schlatt's actions, his attachment to the White House he built and his devastation when Schlatt tore it down in front of him while mocking him. He's a victim of c!Schlatt, people seem to paint him and c!Schlatt as a villain duo sometimes? You can tell Quackity wanted to please Schlatt but was uncomfortable at how he was hurting people, and his decision to leave Schlatt was so good!!! Him wanting power and forming The Butcher Army, the Mexican L'Manberg conflict, c!Karlnapity, his descent into who he is now, bro he's so well written and good. You can tell he's not entirely evil and you can see his "old self" coming out at times. I think about his first friends on the server being c!Tommy c!Tubbo and c!Jack a lot. Come back
What I Dont think about c!Quackity: I dont think his torture of c!Dream is deserved or justified or a "girlboss" moment it just makes me sad at what he's become :( the depiction of Las Nevadas as "found family" is uncomfortable to me also
What I Do think about c!Niki: Please please please please go watch her POV of Season 1 Please I made an essay and a list she's one of my faves. I dont talk about her as often bc we just dont have much c!Niki lore anymore but her season 1 lore was up there as some of my favourites. Genuinely The Pet War with her, Fundy and Sapnap is one of my favourite things I think about it SO often. Her relationship with the rest of the L'Manbergians is so underrated, she was friends with c!Fundy, she was friends with c!Tubbo (they hung out before the festival too :[ ) she was friends with c!Tommy,, in fact the two would constantly help eachother especially if a pet was killed. We all know Rocket Duo, and of course her relationship with c!Wilbur. She's the one who built the L'Manberg flag!! The one who stood up to c!Schlatt! The one who wanted to form a rebellion and blow up the White House!! Those are all girlboss moments!!
What I Dont think about c!Niki: I dont think her burning the L'Mantree, trying to kill c!Tommy or being upset with c!Wilbur are "girl power" or "go queen go!" moments. She was so clearly in pain and spiralling and it's weird to celebrate that imo? I also find it kinda weird that she used and nearly framed c!Tubbo for the death of his best friend and it was never mentioned again but oh well. After all he's just c!Tubbo :')
What I Do think about c!Jack: Spare closure?? His arc has been going on for like 6 or 7 months now man can he please get closure or therapy?? Anyway his moments during season 1 were also very underrated! Him joining the server and immediately being bribed into destroying his best friends items and having to make a choice between the Dream SMP and L'Manberg, his chat with c!Eret about what to do, this was my First impression of him and it was a good one!!! Its nearly been a year :,] The moments I think fit his character best pre-spiral are lost to time, he had a speech before officially joining L'Manberg about how much c!Tommy trusting him meant, he had a speech at one point about how important the discs were because they were important to c!Tommy and as a member of L'Manberg he feels he Has to fight for them. I made an essay on his and c!Tommy's relationship. Reminder he was 17 when he joined the server and L'Manberg
What I Dont think about c!Jack: I dont think he's justified in killing c!Tommy, because I just dont think murder can be "justified", similar to the Butcher Army conflict. He's in pain and lashing out and I'd find it hard cheering him on in doing something I know will cause him a lot of pain if he goes through with it. I think He has an understandable reason, possibly THE most understandable reason for wanting to murder a guy but it's just kinda sad to watch as it can Only end badly for both him and c!Tommy. We've seen how he reacted to his death already and we know at this point he just wants his friend back and not actually dead :( dude needs help and closure man please
What I Do think about c!Sapnap: That's my boy!! My underrated boy!! He's so heavily slandered on the c!Dream enthusiast side of Twitter n Tumblr and it's sad bc he quite literally did Nothing to deserve it. Out of all the things to criticise him for - kickstarting like 6 wars, murdering people's pets, etc people choose to shit on him for turning away from his toxic friend who had repeatedly been hurting him and the people he cared about? He never "abandoned a spiralling friend" he cut off (And still cares about!!! He still cares about and misses him!!!) someone who was beyond helping, it was Never his responsibility or obligation to stick by c!Dream's side if it hurt him to do so. c!Dream betrayed his trust so many times and he was Still willing to fight beside him man. He was unsure about whether to go against him on Doomsday. He cares so much he makes me so sad. :( Not to mention c!Dream blowing up the Community House, a place he cared about? How many times does c!Dream get to hurt him before its valid for him to turn away from him? Get behind me
What I Dont think about c!Sapnap: I have nothing to put here. Leave him alone
What I Do think about c!Eret: They were my second fav character during OG L'Manberg. :] I watched all their streams every day and their antics with the L'Manbergians were SO fun along with them eventually regretting what they did. So many of their old moments are lost to time now and it sucks. I really enjoyed early c!Eret, before the Redemption Arc and the Pogtopia they were a bastard and unapologetic about it and it was SO fun. Constantly bragging about winning the war and betraying them. Again, here is a link to the same essay I have posted Twice now just in case you forgot I wrote it
What I Dont think about c!Eret: I dont think the Final Control Room was justified. Their motives for doing it were understandable and I dont think they knew what a canon death was but like,, 4 people died man. This isnt saying they're a horrible person, they havent made up for it or they're the main person at fault for it but imagine the sheer amount of regret they feel after learning what a canon death was, the realization of what Actually happened in that room.... (sorry for the angst)
What I Do think about c!Sam: BRO he's so depressing. As someone who watched him from season 1, watching him spiral into what he is now is one of The most saddest things to come out of the SMP. Bro he was so,,, his pumpkin pies,,, he nearly cried when c!Tommy got exiled,,, he,,,,,, :( if you want an example of "good guy turned corrupt and bad" you got your answer right here!! He really was just a guy. He thought he could take the job of Warden and he thought he could protect c!Tommy and he failed man he failed and it fucked him up. So very well written and sympathetic and sad
What I Dont think about c!Sam: again I dont think the prison treatment is justified or deserved. Him murdering, torturing and cutting off c!Ponk's arm is unforgivable imo I'm still not over that
Other characters:
c!George, c!Ponk, c!Bad, c!Ant, c!Punz, c!Purpled, c!Hannah, c!Puffy, c!Skeppy, c!Schlatt, c!Karl, c!Slime, c!Foolish, c!Ranboo - these are characters I just watch for fun rather than to analyse, I dont have a solid grasp on their character and I dont usually see discourse or analysis posts on them that sway my opinions. Enjoy their lore no clue where to start analysing it (influence my opinion maybe? 👀)

I’m back in case nobody ever asked about your boy, so…. Carlos de Vil for the ask meme :)
@hoodpane Aww, thank you, sweetheart, I appreciate that! 🥰♥️♥️
1. Sexuality Headcanon
I headcanon (and write) him variously as gay OR bisexual since I can see it either way with him, for reasons akin to my thoughts on Evie in this post. Sometimes, I headcanon him as aspec, too, and that's been at the back of my mind with certain fics, but I haven't yet decided if I feel strongly about him fitting a particular label or if I'm just trying to figure out things for myself by projecting different labels at him idk.
Anyway, related (gender) headcanon that I can never shut up about: whatever sexuality I'm writing him as, he's always he/they nonbinary in my mind, my writing, my memes, just everything jdkaljgklsg. <3
2. OTP
Jaylos, my beloved! For me, there's no universe in which these two don't end up together, which is why they come out on top as my OTP, deeply fond as I am of the Rotten OT4 ship. Marlos and Carvie can be romantic or platonic, it's fine either way, but if Jaylos isn't happening, I probably won't bother. I just don't enjoy reading them in other ships.
3. BROTP
I think Jane and Carlos are really cute as friends. It makes me really happy to think about Jay and Carlos going on double dates with Jane and Lonnie (who are in lesbians together, change my mind you can't).
I'm also here for Chad being the bestie Carlos literally never wanted. Their dynamic is just so fucking funny. It makes no sense! Compels me though. And Mal, Jay, and Evie absolutely tease Carlos about it.
4. NOTP
No hate, but I'm not here for Benlos. I think it's cute that Ben clearly has a crush on Carlos, but I mean, it's Ben. Show me a VK he doesn't have a crush on lmao. I don't know, this ship just leaves me bored, so I'll usually take a hard pass on anything that features them together.
Less common nopes I've encountered: Gilos and Chadlos. Just nope.
5. First headcanon that pops into my head
In telling Carlos all those horrifying (and untrue) tales of dogs being vicious, rabid pack animals as he was growing up, Cruella liked to up the drama by growling, baring her teeth, even biting him sometimes.
This instilled such terror in Carlos that he thought to weaponize it, so, for years, he'd growl at his bullies and try to bite and claw instead of punching and kicking. The other kids found this strange at best and hilarious at worst—none more so than Harry Hook in the latter case.
Oh, he never let Carlos live that down, even long after he'd realized it wasn't having the desired effect. Harry would bark and growl at him in the street, laughing gleefully when he managed to startle Carlos.
Meanwhile, with Jay, Mal, and Evie, the nickname "pup" emerged as a soft, teasing reminder of the first impression he'd made on them as kids. Much to his exasperation, he's simply stuck with the nickname.
6. One way in which I relate to this character
Look at him, he's got anxiety. No, but seriously, that's definitely a big thing for me. The way his anxiety makes people underestimate him, both in canon and fanon, because it's easy to see just a scared little boy where, in fact, there are so many sharp edges, so much steel in him that's helped him survive.
I relate to that a lot, because IRL I find most people make the mistake of assuming anxiety is my personality ("omg you're so shy uwu," "you should talk more," "smile for me"), and well, they're wrong, but I didn't always realize that. I see something similar with Carlos on the Isle, in that he grows up being told that he's weak for so long, he internalizes that as a truth about himself when, in actuality, if he was weak? He'd have never survived. Not the Isle, not his mother, not his entire life.
7. Thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character
chocolate-all-over-his-face.jpg jkdlajlkgsjlkg
Like, it warms my heart how excited he is about chocolate, but also I kind of want to be a mom for just TWO SECONDS and wipe his face before he gets out of the limo looking a mess like that jdkasljkgdlsjk
8. Cinnamon roll or problematic fave?
You know, he can be a cinnamon roll, but it would be a mistake to see that as the extent of his character. I'd say more than half the time it's just an act to get what he wants, which is valid of him. Jay and Evie flirt, Mal intimidates, and Carlos? He gives the puppy eyes so you don't notice the knife slip out from his sleeve before it's too late.
One of my favourite things about him is that he could have gone the route of problematic fave. He's capable of it. He just... chooses to be better than that, like in this scene from Return to the Isle of the Lost (Book 2), which is one of my favourite scenes in the whole franchise:
Cruella cackled with glee. “Go ahead, then, use it on me. Destroy me. With that ring you can obliterate me forever. Tell me to throw myself off this roof and I’ll do it. Isn’t that what you want? Isn’t that what you have always wanted?”
Carlos felt the ring throb in his hands. He could destroy his mother, rid the world of another villain, and stop having nightmares once and for all.
“Do it!” Cruella cackled. “Do it, boy!”
He raised his hand, pointing the ring right at her. Then he dropped his arm down with a sigh. “No, I can’t. I’m better than that,” Carlos said, turning on his heel and heading for the elevator. I’m better than you, Mother. No matter what you’ve always told me.
That's my baby and I'm proud.
