A Dad For Christmas (ao3) - sourscarlets Luke/Ashton, Michael/Calum T, 17k
Summary: Since the age of three all Ashton's daughter has wanted for Christmas was another father so her dad could be happy. Her Christmas wish comes in the form of a toy store owner that might just be what they were looking for.
Come On Skinny Love, Just Last The Year (ao3) - senioritastyles Calum/Ashton G, 4k
Summary: "Daddy!" Evan calls, eyes wide as he looks just past Ashton.
Ashton barely has time to turn around before his cart crashes into someone else's, his distracted walking leading him right into the collision. He looks up to apologize as Evan quietly giggles next to him, somewhat hiding behind Ashton's legs, and Ashton is met with warm dark brown eyes and golden skin and a smiling stranger who doesn't seem even remotely miffed at Ashton. The stranger is beautiful really, it's the only way Ashton can think to describe him as he fumbles trying to find his voice.
Or: Ashton is a single dad and he meets Calum by chance.
Daisy (ao3) - boomerluke Luke/Ashton M, 121k
Summary: The last thing Luke expects when he wakes up hungover in the bed of his latest one-night stand is to come face to face with a freaking kid. But there she is all wild curls, thumb-sucking, and nonstop questions. Luke can't get out of there fast enough.
Ashton isn't the type to have one-night stands. He's a parent, after all. It was a mistake, and it won't happen again. At least that's what he tells himself when he comes back from his shower to find the naked college kid still in his bed, arguing with Daisy.
They couldn't be more opposites. At 25, Ashton has the responsibilities of two parents, raising his daughter and trying to pretend like he has everything figured out. At 21, Luke is a self-proclaimed Grindr god who doesn't care about anyone or anything but himself. So why is the universe (with the help of Michael and Crystal) so hell-bent on seeing them together?
Drum Drum - @daydadahlias (cornflowerblue (daydadahlias)) T, 3k
Summary: Debbie, Arlette, and Lisa watch drumming videos of their friend, Ashton, from Craft Club.
Hot for Teacher (ao3) - FayeHunter Michael/Luke T, 1k
Summary: Michael doesn’t want to be up this early bringing his niece to school. At least the teacher is hot
i promise i'll keep you safe (ao3) - orphan_account implied Calum/Ashton N/R, 681
Summary: “Promise?” The young girl asked, raising her head of his chest to look at him in the eyes to make sure he was telling the truth. He nodded and kissed her forehead. “I promise, Kiddo. As long as I’m around, you will always be safe.”
OR
where calum and ashton have adopted an anxious and emotionally broken five year old girl, and one night, she gets scared by a storm and crawls into ash and cal's bed, where ash comforts her and calum sleeps like a baby beside them.
Lily (ao3) - im_just_a_sucker_for_bromance Michael/Luke E, 49k
Summary: Luke and Michael, they used to be boyfriends, lovers and each other’s world. Michael did not know whether those things really existed but he used to think Luke was his soulmate and that they completed each other; that was until Luke left without saying anything. After many years, Luke had decided to come back home but he did not come alone; he brought along a cute little girl, named Lily. When he suddenly came across Michael, the feelings that he had forgotten started to come back. Will he be able to ignore them? Or let his heart decide for him? Although many years passed, Michael had never really been able to be with anyone else because his heart has always beat for Luke. Meeting Luke again was like a second chance to save what had been lost; he wanted to get close to Luke. Will Luke allow him into his world again? Or was it just him and Lily?
never be (ao3) - radiance OT4 G, 4k
Summary: luke, calum, michael and ashton all work on the hemmings' farm during the summer.
Smudges of Love (ao3) - larryologymajor G, 2k
Summary: 5SOS oneshot...single dad!Ashton au Luke thinks Ashton and his daughter are lonely, so he does something about it.
(Or the time Luke got Ashton's toddler daughter the best birthday gift ever!)
Take Custody Of My Heart (ao3) - ghouluke Luke/Ashton M, 18k
Summary: Luke, a child custody lawyer, takes on the case of Ashton, a scared single father, who after a rocky divorce with his ex-wife, is fighting for custody over his daughter, Lily.
take my hand, now and forever (don't ever let go) - @sup3rbloom (haveufoundwhaturlookingfor) Calum/Ashton T, 9k
Summary: Ashton is a single parent who's not had good luck with dating ever since his son was brought into his life. Then, he meets Calum, who's the first guy who's ever shown interest in him and his son.
Trouble Is I Can't Find A Way (You're Part of Me) (ao3) - sunsetmagnolia Luke/Ashton, Michael/Calum T, 24k
Summary: Ashton didn’t know what to make of the thought that Luke was here. In his city. After all the effort he’d put into making sure they were a whole country away from each other for so many years.
Where the Heart Is (ao3) - LyricalPary (hoseoky) Luke/Ashton, side Michael/Calum E, 86k
Summary: By the time that Ashton Irwin is twenty-seven years old, he's already a widower and a father of three. After his third nanny quits on him, he comes to the conclusion that life in general doesn't seem to like him very much—that is, until his luck turns around when he discovers a particular nanny by the name of Luke H.
The question now is, can a twenty-two year old man with mile-long legs and a smile made of gold really be the super nanny that Ashton needs?
Perhaps so.
you're the thing that i can't quit (ao3) - lucasfletcher Calum/Ashton T, 2k
Summary: “So, you’ve got the hots for your son’s football coach?” Michael asks from the other side of the bar, leaning on his elbows and blowing his gum in Ashton’s face annoyingly. “Shh, Michael,” Ashton looks around to make sure no one’s close enough to hear them. “And who the fuck even says ‘got the hots’ anymore?” “So you do!” he pauses and a grin takes over his features. “Also fuck you I can say whatever I want.”
or, the super cute cashton one

Another prompt: ❛are you wearing my shirt?❜ for Reggie/Anyone
Set in the Reggie is the one who survives AU, after the guys are back. Julie and Ray have agreed to wait and tell Reggie together about who exactly her new ghost band is.
What was the point of flying back a day early when your flight got delayed, Reggie grumbled as he dumped his bags right inside the door. He'd been all set to surprise Julie at her party, and now he'd still missed it. Ray had recorded it, of course, that had been the entire purpose, but still. He'd missed hearing Julie sing. He'd missed seeing her happy.
He'd missed being home. But going on tour had been the only thing that had gotten the label off his back about switching up the songs on his next album so Julie wouldn’t have to play the fiddle and sing in them. It was still a good, solid album, and it wasn't like they'd made any announcements they had to take back. Still, he'd rather tank his career than have anyone make Julie feel pressured even for a second.
"Guys, look, it's Reggie!" Alex called, sticking his head through the wall to holler down to the studio. Within seconds, Luke and Bobby were in the living room.
"Oh man, he looks even older in real life," Bobby said, hanging in front of Reggie, staring at his face.
"He looks like a dad," Alex agreed, shaking his head. Luke rolled his eyes, following Reggie into the kitchen and making a face when Reggie wrapped his arms around Ray, kissing him long and with way too much tongue.
Ray stopped tidying up when he heard Reggie's boots, turning and catching him when Reggie all but flung himself at him. He wrapped his arms around Ray's neck, kissing him soundly. Ray tasted like coffee, and potato chips, and home. "Hi," he breathed when they finally came up for air. "I missed you."
"I missed you too," Ray murmured, nuzzling his beard. "I thought you didn't get home until tomorrow?"
"I wanted to surprise Julie, but my stupid flight got delayed," he admitted. "I'm so bummed I missed her big performance." Ray hummed, thoughtful. Reggie had to admit that it was probably good that Ray had been the one at home for Julie's whole 'sneak out the window while grounded to play a gig' moment, because when Ray told him about it on the phone, his first reaction had been pride and laughter.
"I'm sure she'll give you a private performance tomorrow," Ray said.
"Oh, totally!" Luke said, bouncing.
"Then someone can finally tell him to his face that his beard makes him look like a math teacher," Bobby said. Alex snorted, but well, Bobby was right.
"What should we play for him? Great again? Or Bright? Oh, I should talk to Julie about-" Before he could leave, Alex grabbed his arm.
"You are not going into a girl's room after midnight while she's trying to sleep," he warned. "Don't be gross, dude." Luke blinked at him, before realising how creepy that probably was and settling down again.
Something about Ray's tone was weird, but before Reggie could figure it out, Ray plucked at the hem of his Henley. "Are you wearing my shirt?" he asked. "I've been looking everywhere for that."
"Maybe," Reggie hedged, even though the loose fit of the shoulders definitely gave away that it was Ray's. "I knew I was going to miss my husband, okay? You can have it back now, though, it doesn't smell like you anymore."
"So you can steal it again later?" Ray teased, pressing a kiss to his neck. Reggie grinned. Ray knew him so well.
"Aw," Alex said. Maybe Reggie being old was super weird, but he was happy to see the guy in such a loving relationship. Reggie had only realised that not every guy wanted to kiss his buddies and that being bisexual was a thing about three days before they died. And now look at him. Married to a man who clearly loved him, with two kids, and a house. He was living the dream Alex hadn’t even imagined was possible, back in the day.
"Kids asleep?" He should hope so, considering it was after midnight, but hey. Reggie knew post-gig adrenaline. He was surprised Julie wasn't bouncing off the walls.
"Or at least pretending to be," Ray agreed.
"Good," Reggie said, pulling his husband close again so he could lean against him, lips next to his ear. He grinned when Ray shivered a little. "Because all I want to do right now is take you to bed and suck your dick until my voice is wrecked."
"Okay nope!" Bobby said, disappearing in a flash. Luke and Alex shared a horrified look, before he vanished as well.
"Good for you, Reg," Alex muttered, before hightailing it out of there as well. Even if he was happy for the guy, there were some things he really, really didn't want to know.

Hey my boo💕 how about number 06+ telling all the kids you're pregnant for the 6th time (a willow meltdown would break my heart but yk) ily💕
06. “Can you believe we’re going to have another baby?” with family of 8 and Willow. I love your writing!
06. “Can you believe we’re going to have another baby?”
It had been a manic day. From start to finish, all five of yours and Luke’s children had wanted to cause trouble in some way or another, despite their usual well behaved nature. Being a parent was never really easy, especially not to 5 children under the age of 12, but today, was especially testing. But despite the hard days, it didn’t falter your love for them. They were children, they were always learning, and you didn’t expect them to have good days everyday.
You’d been having symptoms that you’d been trying to ignore. Feeling slightly sick in the mornings, suddenly hating certain food and smells, and being more exhausted than usual. Luke had noticed something was off too, and after five previous pregnancies, there was the lingering thought in both of your minds, that there was about to be a sixth.
“You feeling okay, love?” Luke asked, a concerned expression on his face as he helped you clean up from lunch, the kitchen always messy after the seven of you ate together. He’d seen this happen five times before. He knew what was wrong, and he knew, that you knew it too. “You didn’t eat much of your lunch.”
Your eyes caught his, holding his gaze for a little longer than usual, a knowing smile on your lips. You nodded softly, replying “I just don’t have much of an appetite, but I’m okay, Lu.”
He acknowledged your words, knowing nothing else needed to be said. You were doing the dishes, and he came up behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist gently. He spoke quietly in your ear, aware that the children were in ear shot. “Have you got a test? I can go and get one for you, if you need me to. We’ll do it when the kids go to bed, if you want.”
Your heart melted at his words. He had always been the sweetest husband, the best dad, and you knew he’d do absolutely anything for you, or any of the children. “I think I have one in the bathroom upstairs. We’ll do it tonight.”
You and Luke definitely hadn’t planned for another baby, only two years after having Willow, and adding another child into your already chaotic family made you a little anxious. But also, the vision of another tiny baby Hemmings made your heart melt, and took over all of the fears - there was no better sight than Luke with a newborn baby. The memories of finding him asleep somewhere in the house with a tiny baby cuddled up on his chest, or watching him feed them with a bottle for the first time, or seeing him so naturally be able to comfort them straight away. It made your heart melt, and suddenly, the idea of another baby seemed much less daunting.
The day seemed to drag on after that - not that you wanted to rush the kids into bed, but you just needed to confirm yours and Luke’s suspicions, and know for certain whether a new baby would be joining your family.
“Okay babe, they’re all asleep. I had to read Willow three different stories, but she went off eventually.” Luke announced, entering your shared bedroom and closing the door quietly behind him. “Are you ready?”
“To do the test? Or for another baby?” You chuckled softly, watching as he shook his head playfully and rubbed his eyes.
“I’m exhausted just thinking about it.” He replied, watching as you made your way into the en-suite, ready to take the test. “It’ll be nice to have a newborn again though. I miss Willow being that small.”’
The three minutes waiting time seemed to feel longer every time you did this. You’d done countless tests over the years, and the anxiety in the pit of your stomach always felt the same. Six children. There were so many thoughts racing through your mind - is six too much? Would the children be able to adjust to another baby? Would Luke ever be able to go on tour again?
Luke’s words pulled you from your thoughts. “Imagine if we had twins again.”
“Don’t do that to me.” You groaned, smacking your hands lightly against his chest as he held you in his arms, his hands settling on your lower back. He didn’t want to get his hopes up, but the thought of you being pregnant again made his heart rate pick up. There was nothing he loved more than seeing your bump grow month after month, to accommodate your baby. There was nothing like the feeling of the baby kicking for the first time, or getting to attend the scans. He loved every moment of it, and he would be lying if he said he didn’t want to do it for a sixth time. “I love the boys and wouldn’t change them for the world, but I’m not sure we could handle another set.”
The timer beeped on your phone and you both took a deep breath, suddenly feeling much more nervous. “Will you look? I can’t do it.” you asked Luke, knowing in your heart you’d be a little disappointed if you saw a ‘not pregnant’ sign the stick. He nodded and kissed your forehead, and then lips, softly before picking the test up from the counter. He murmured a quiet “You ready?” and you nodded, one of his hands keeping ahold of yours, as a comforting measure.
Pregnant.
As soon as he checked the test and his eyes lit up, you knew the answer. “You ready for baby number six, sweetheart? Because if not… you have about eight months to get ready.”
“Oh my god.” You stood up from your spot and fell into Luke’s chest, a few happy and overwhelmed tears spilling down your cheeks. Luke held you close to him, holding your face in his hands and gently wiping the tears as they fell. “Can you believe we’re going to have another baby?”
“Six children, baby. Are we insane?” Luke murmured against your mouth, not able to stop his lips from kissing yours over and over again.
“A little.”
***
You decided to wait a little before telling the children that they would be getting another sibling. It was better to wait until you’d had a few scans, to make sure everything was okay, not wanting to excite the little ones in case of anything going wrong. But after several confirmations that everything was perfect, you thought it was about time to tell your babies, about the new baby.
They were lined up in the garden in front of you and Luke, restlessly waiting for you to let them open the boxes set on the ground, each with a name on. You’d come up with something a little creative, filling the boxes with a few of their favourite treats, hidden by a balloon that said ‘Big Brother’ or ‘Big Sister.’
“Okay kiddos, open your box!” Luke called out to the five children in front of him, kneeling in front of Willow and helping her to open hers, that was nearly bigger than her. “What does it say?”
“You’re having another baby?” Poppy squealed, rubbing over from her spot to wrap her arms around you. She loved being a big sister, and knew she would be delighted with the new addition. Grayson and the twins followed, all giving you so much love and so many hugs, making your heart melt. “I’m gonna be a big sister again!”
“Willow! You’re gonna be a big sister!” Luke told her, knowing she didn’t quite understand what was going on. “Mumma and Dada are gonna have another baby!”
Her expression didn’t quite change like he’d hoped. Instead of the happy squeals he was expecting to hear, like he had from the other children, she looked sad, and confused.
“But I’m the baby, Dada.” She pouted, and his heart broke as he realised it was going to take a little more for her to come around. The biggest Daddy’s girl of all of the children - he knew she’d struggle to adjust a little more, as she was used to being the youngest baby.
“You’ll always be my baby, sweetheart.” He lifted her into his arms, and she hid her face in his neck as she began to cry. “Hey, Willow, don’t cry. You’re still our baby, okay? I promise. You get to be a big sister, just like Poppy!”
“I’m the baby.” She whined against his shoulder, shyly hiding her face from you and her siblings. You thought she’d be a little more excited, even though you knew she’d struggle to understand it, being so young. She’d come around.
“You are, sweet girl, I promise.” He reassured her, rubbing her back softly. It hurt his heart to see her so sad, but he knew she’d just need more time than the others to get used to the idea. The twins had been the same before she was born, so he knew how to handle it.
She clung to him for the rest of the day, hiding in his neck whenever you tried to get her to look at your very slight bump. After a few tries you gave up, not wanting to push her too far. Luke saw your sad eyes when she refused, but he knew she’d be okay eventually.
“Can you believe we’re adding another one to this crazy bunch?” Luke asked you softly, in a quiet voice, not to disturb the five content children around you. You’d decided on a family movie night to celebrate, and after spending at least twenty minutes deciding on a movie, you had five sleepy children snuggled into the two of you. Willow was yet to let go of Luke, claiming her spot on his chest. The twins were settled at either side of you, and Poppy and Grayson were sprawled out on the chairs. Looking around them, you couldn’t believe in just a few months, there would be another Hemmings to add to the bunch.
“No, I can’t.” You replied, linking your free hand with his, bringing your intwined hands up to your mouth and kissing his knuckles. “Do you think we can handle it?”
“I’m looking forward to finding out with you.”

Something that was extremely important to you and Ashton when you had children was that they trusted you. You wanted to create an environment for them that was safe, healthy, and open. You wanted your kids to be able to be honest with you and not be afraid to share their feelings with you.
Once your little Kennedy came along and her second birthday passed, Ashton came up with an idea. He called it “happy checks.” Once or twice a week, you or him would take Kenny into your bedroom and sit on the bed. That was a safe space for her to tell you or talk about anything she wanted; you couldn’t get angry and Kenny wouldn’t get in trouble. You would ask how she was feeling and if there was anything she wanted to talk about. She didn’t really get it at first, but as time went on, she started to grasp the concept.
It was working well; she was getting very good with being able to talk about her feelings and work through them, whether they were good or bad feelings. She was a very emotional toddler, and happy checks were really good for her. Sometimes it would be small things, like a movie she watched made her feel sad or seeing Duke at Uncle Calum’s house made her happy. Sometimes she would ask questions or not say much at all. No matter what it was, she could talk about it, and you or Ashton would be there to listen.
Not long after Kennedy turned two, the twins, Finley and Alex, came along. She was ecstatic. The thought of being a big sister was very exciting to her, and when they were finally born, she loved to hold them and tell them stories she made up. She always shared her toys with them, even when they didn’t know what to do with them, and always wanted them to watch her favorite movies with her.
Now, Kennedy’s third birthday and the twins’ first weren’t too far off. Another baby had been on yours and Ashton’s minds, but you wanted to wait until the twins were a little older like you did with Kenny so they could understand better.
One afternoon had you on nap duty with the twins, which tended to take a while. Kenny was with Ashton in his music room, quietly playing with her stuffed animals while Ashton strummed his guitar softly. Kenny loved being in there with him. She wasn’t always allowed to, since Ashton actually had to get work done sometimes, but when she was, it was almost therapeutic for her. Sometimes they would each do their own thing quietly while he simply kept an eye on her, other times Ashton would show her his instruments or play for her.
Ashton noticed Kennedy wasn’t herself that day. She had a slight pout on her lips, and her movements with her toys weren’t as energetic as they normally were. He didn’t say anything at first, wondering if she would come to him, but soon enough the look of sadness on her face was too much for him to bear.
“Kenny, sweetheart?” He asked softly as he set his guitar on it’s stand.
She looked up from her stuffed animals and Ashton crouched in front of her on the floor. He was good at appearing non threatening and caring, and he could tell Kenny could see that in him.
“You want to have a happy check?” He asked, making sure to keep his voice even and soothing. She nodded and reached her little arms out to be picked up.
Ashton lifted the girl into his arms, a hand rubbing over her back as he carried her upstairs to the bedroom. You caught a glimpse of them walking by the twins’ room as you worked on getting them changed and heard the bedroom door shut; you knew it was time for a happy check.
Ashton propped himself up against the headboard of the bed and let Kenny settle in his lap before he spoke up.
“How are you feeling right now, Kenny?” He asked gently, his hand never ceasing to rub her back, comforting her. He waited patiently for her answer as she thought about her words.
“I feel sad,” she finally mumbled. She fiddled with the ruffles on her skirt to distract herself, and he took it as a sign that this was something more than a sad scene in a Disney movie that upset her.
“It’s okay to feel sad, sweetheart,” he affirmed. Validating her feelings was something you and Ashton always made sure to do during happy checks. You didn’t want her to feel embarrassed about what she was feeling, or feel like she couldn’t express it. “Do you want to tell me why you feel sad?”
She took a minute to think about her words again, still twisting her skirt in her hands and not looking up at Ashton.
“Finny and Alex.”
Ashton’s eyebrows furrowed for a moment at her response, but he quickly neutralized his expression. He couldn’t imagine what Finley and Alex, her baby twin siblings less than a year old, had done to upset her, but this was a safe space. She was allowed to talk about whatever she wanted, and everything she was feeling was valid.
“Finley and Alex are making you feel sad?” She nodded. “Why is that?”
“I…” she trailed off and buried her head into Ashton’s chest with a whimper. He wasn’t sure if that was frustration about being unsure of how to put her feelings into words or being embarrassed to say it at all. Ashton dipped his head down to press a comforting kiss to her curls.
“It’s alright, sweetheart, take your time. Remember, this is your safe space. You can tell me anything you want.”
She went quiet again, taking her time to feel through her emotions and think about them, and Ashton gave her the grace to do so.
“I miss being with you and Mommy,” she explained, voice strained. She glanced up at Ashton, and his heart broke at her glassy eyes.
“What do you mean, sweetheart?” He coaxed gently, trying to piece together what she was saying. He wiped away the single tear that slipped down her cheek and planted another kiss on her head.
“I like it when Finny and Alex are with us,” she began, interrupted by a sniffle. “But sometimes I want it to be just me, you and Mommy.”
Ashton finally understood. As much as she loved the twins, she wanted some alone time with her parents like before they were born, and that was completely understandable. Keeping track of three kids was hard enough, but two of them being babies was even more difficult. Sometimes Finley and Alex needed more of yours and Ashton’s attention, and Kenny was clearly feeling a bit left out.
“I understand, sweetheart. You miss spending time with just me and Mommy, yeah?” He confirmed, earning a small nod in response as she leaned her head against his chest again. “That’s perfectly okay, Kenny. I know it was a big change when Finley and Alex arrived, and you do such a good job being a big sister. Since they’re so little, they need some extra help with things that you don’t need as much help with, right? That’s why sometimes they need a little more of Mommy and I’s attention. Do you understand that, Kenny?”
She nodded again, still sniffling a bit. Before Ashton could continue, the bedroom door cracked open, and you peaked your head in. You finally got both the twins to sleep, and you needed to pass through the bedroom.
“Am I interrupting?” You whispered, knowing they were talking.
“Would you like Mommy to come sit with us?” Ashton offered, and you heard a soft “yeah” from Kenny. You gently shut the door behind you and made your way to join your husband and daughter on the bed. Kenny reached her arms out to you as you sat down, and you gently lifted her from Ashton’s lap into yours.
“We’re having a happy check,” Ashton explained, wrapping one arm around your shoulders and reaching the other across to hold Kenny’s little hand. “Do you want to tell Mommy what you told me, sweetheart?”
Kenny repeated what she told Ashton, you taking over rubbing her back to comfort her. You couldn’t help but feel bad; she had been lonely and you didn’t notice.
“Oh, baby, Daddy and I never meant to make you feel sad,” you began, stealing what Ashton was about to explain before you came in. “Daddy and I love you just as much as we love your brother and sister. It’s okay to miss being alone with us, even though I know you love your siblings.”
“Mhm,” Kenny hummed. She took in your words and was starting to understand, and most importantly, she wasn’t ashamed of her feelings. Even if she didn’t quite understand now, you hoped that when she got older she would realize how beneficial being able to share her feelings is, and always feel she could trust her parents to talk about them.
“This weekend, how about we take Finley and Alex to one of your uncles’ house and the three of us can spend some time together? How does that sound, sweetheart?” Ashton suggested, offering a solution to her sadness. Her face lit up at the suggestion, nodding her head quickly.
“We get fries?” She asked, and you and Ashton chuckled. She was obsessed with French fries, and there was a specific diner that had her favorite ones.
“We can get fries, baby. We can do anything you want.”
She giggled in satisfaction. Ashton rubbed his thumb over the top of her hand and sent her a loving smile.
“Is there anything else you want to talk about?” He asked. She shook her head. “Alright. How are you feeling now?” At the end of every happy check, you always asked how she was feeling again so she could compare how she felt before and after.
“Happy,” she mumbled, curling further into your chest. “And sleepy.”
“I think it’s nap time for you, then, sweet girl,” you responded, starting to stand up from the bed. “Do you want to give Daddy a kiss before you go night night?”
Ashton lifted her into his arms and pressed multiple kisses to her cheeks. She laughed sleepily, giving a wet kiss to his cheek once he finished.
“I love you so much, sweetheart,” he mumbled. “Sweet dreams.”
“Love you, Daddy,” she yawned as Ashton passed her back to you.
You put her down for her nap before joining Ashton back in the bedroom. He had laid back down on the bed, clearly waiting for you.
“You think she’s okay?” You asked him as you rested your head on his chest. He nodded as he pulled you closer.
“I think so. These happy checks are really good for her, I think,” he mumbled. He glanced down at you with a tender smile. “You can come to me for happy checks too, you know.”
You chuckled and kissed the bottom of his jaw.
“I know. And you can have them with me, too.”
“I know.”
You fell into a comforting silence, both of you simply reflecting. You knew you were giving your children a happy household, and that was something you both took a lot of pride in.

Saving Grace || Michael Clifford AU - Chapter One
Setting: Los Angeles, 2015
TW: Child abuse
Michael twiddled his thumbs nervously as he waited for his girlfriend of three years, Amy, to join him outside of the car. Their black Jeep was parked beneath a small oak tree, morning sunlight reflecting off of the shiny paint. Amy was still scrolling through her phone, transfixed with what was probably some Instagram post or Snapchat story.
Michael's hand reached into his left side pocket, where the small velvet box was concealed. His heart began to pound as he ran his thumb over the smooth material, the reminder of the events to come. He closed his eyes as he recollected the night before.
"Let's go to the park tomorrow morning, Amy." He had said before shoving another forkful of dinner into his mouth. "The weather's supposed to be quite nice, and you and I are both off of work."
Amy had smiled at him. "I'm always up for the park."
Michael was brought back to the present when Amy touched his arm. "You okay, Mikey?" she asked, wrapping her arm around his and leaning her head against his shoulder. Michael swallowed hard.
"Yes, yes I am." he replied, forcing a smile. Amy furrowed her eyebrows, but followed along as he began to lead them down a gravel trail.
Trees decorated both sides of the path, leaves green with the new growth of early spring. Michael loved spring. Everything was so fresh and vibrant; a symbol of new beginnings.
New beginnings.
He led Amy across the wooden bridge that the pair had crossed so many times. They'd had their first kiss here, three years ago to the date. There was no fancy music or cheesy words spoken; just the sound of wind rustling the trees and water rushing below, just as it was today.
Michael felt his stomach rise into his throat as they approached a large oak tree. They'd sat under it many times for picnics, long talks, and even stargazing one night. Something was special about that tree. He wasn't sure if it was the way the leaves fanned out so perfectly that they created a canopy of shade, or how the trunk was so wide that Michael and Amy could sit side-by-side with their backs against it, just to relax. Perhaps it was simply because they sat beneath it when he asked Amy to be his girlfriend. Whatever it was, Michael knew it was the place where he was going to ask.
"Are we going to have another one of our long talks about the meaning of life?" Michael was snapped from his thoughts by Amy's teasing tone. He rolled his eyes playfully and nudged her.
"Not this time." he replied as they crossed from sunlight to shade beneath the tree. His heart began to race yet again, his mouth going dry. Nothing was going to take away this moment from the two of them, absolutely nothing.
"Amy," Michael decided to get straight to the point. "I.... I wanted to tell you that I love you. More than anything, you know that. You've taken these past three years and turned them into something wonderful for me. I only hope you can say the same for yourself. I'd be absolutely lost without you, which is why I want to spend the rest of my life with you." he reached his hand into his pocket to grab the box. Amy's eyes began to sparkle. She knew what was coming. Michael gave a trembling smile.
"Amy," he began as he prepared to kneel. "Will yo-"
His query was cut off by a loud, sharp cry that caused the couple to jump. Amy looked at Michael with a look that said "what the hell?"
Michael turned around to face the trunk of the tree. Another cry, this time softer, came from behind it. He wondered if it was an animal of some sort. What a strange animal, to cause a cry that was almost human.
Amy's natural curiosity took over, and she walked over to investigate. Michael's heart dropped. His moment had been ruined. He hung his head and begrudgingly followed behind her, feeling slightly pissed that some dumb animal would tear away Amy's attention from him.
"Babe," he called. "I'm sure it's no-"
"SH!" Amy hissed, sounding frantic. Michael looked up to see her crouching, absolutely frozen with her hand held out in front of her. Her eyes were locked on something behind the tree with an expression of horror.
"What is it?" Michael whispered, slowing his steps as he came up behind her. She used her other hand to quietly pat the ground beside her. Perplexed, Michael slowly walked around her to sit.
Please be a dog. He thought. It better be a dog.
He peered around the large tree trunk as he sat down. His breath hitched his throat as the subject of Amy's attention came into focus.
A tiny child stared up at them, looking nothing less than petrified. She was an absolute wreck; her clothes were dirty and torn, her hair was matted, her skin was covered with dirt, bruises, and scrapes. She looked like a feral child.
"Oh my God..." Amy whispered, one hand covering her mouth. The child flinched, letting out a scream that caused both adults to jump.
"No, shhhh," Amy soothed, slowly backing away to give the toddler some space. "It's okay, we won't hurt you."
The tiny child furrowed her eyebrows as she stared up at the pair. She seemed to be interested in Michael's unnaturally bright red hair, but her gaze quickly shifted to the ground.
"No hurt Starlin.." she mumbled, her voice delicate, just barely above a whisper.
"Starlin." Michael repeated. "Is that your name, sweetie?" he was now on one knee, crouched down to try and get closer to the child's height. She was tiny, her size making her look no bigger than a year old.
She nodded in response, rocking side to side with her arms folded across her stomach. Michael gave her a kind smile.
"That's a nice name." he replied. "My name is Michael. This girl right here next to me is Amy."
"Where are your parents, honey?" Amy asked. Starlin recoiled at the mention of her mom and dad, her face twisting with fear.
"Bye-bye." was all she responded with. Michael and Amy looked at each other, the same look of confusion written across both of their faces.
"I'm gonna call 911." Amy said, pulling her cell phone out of her pocket. She dialed the three numbers before placing her phone to her ear.
Michael took this opportunity to try and talk to Starlin a bit more. "How old are you, Starlin?" he asked, grunting as he sat down on the grass, criss-crossing his legs. Starlin took a step back, hugging herself tighter.
"M'two..." she mumbled, continuing to rock herself for a moment before slowly sitting down in front of Michael, mimicking the way he crossed his legs. Michael slowly reached his arm out.
"It's gonna be okay." he assured her as he listened to Amy chatter to the police dispatcher about their location. "We have some nice people coming to help you."
Starlin retracted, pulling her body away from Michael's hand as if she were afraid of what it was capable of. Michael stared at her, astonished. How could a child so young be so mistrusting of adults? The marks on her body gave Michael his answer, each bruise and wound a symbol of the pain they couldn't have possibly known about before finding her. However, while bruises would heal, the irreversible emotional damage had already been done. Starlin obviously had absolutely no trust for other human beings.
What did they do to you? Michael asked inside his head, as if he could communicate with her telepathically. If I were your dad, I would make sure you never got hurt again.
He felt his facial features soften even more as the toddler yawned, fists rubbing at her eyes. Michael wondered how long she had been at the park. Even if he could get her to speak more than a couple of words, she was far too young to understand a concept of time. It could have been anywhere from minutes to hours, hours to days. Michael felt his heart break for this little girl who obviously had never known love or comfort.
He was so deep in his thoughts that he didn't even notice he still had his arm outstretched towards Starlin. He felt slight pressure against his fingers, rushing him back to the moment.
She was holding his hand. Her body was rigid, her other hand covering her face as if she expected him to lash out. Michael swore for a moment that his heart stopped. He remained as relaxed as possible, not wanting to tense and scare her. He slowly and gently wrapped his fingers around her tiny hand, causing her to wince for a moment.
"It's okay," he assured gently. "C'mon, it's gonna be okay. Do you want a drink of water?" he asked. Starlin's eyes grew wide as she instinctively licked her lips. They seemed dry.
Amy rejoined Michael at his side, her phone in hand. Starlin jumped and covered her face.
"Wait, shhh, it's okay.." Michael cooed. "That's my friend, remember?"
"There's paramedics and police on their way." Amy said softly, touching Michael's shoulder. He nodded shortly, moving slowly as to not scare Starlin.
"Can I have your water bottle?" he asked, looking up at Amy. Amy furrowed her eyebrows and handed it to him. He twisted off the cap and stuck it in his pocket.
"C'mon little girl, I know you want something to drink." he urged, ever so patient as he waited for Starlin to look up. When she did, her eyes locked on the water bottle. Michael carefully brought it to her lips with intent to help her. However, the moment her little hands wrapped around the bottle, she took off running back behind the tree. Startled, Amy and Michael exchanged glances before sneaking back over to the tree.
Starlin sat against the trunk, taking big greedy gulps of the water, barely stopping to breathe. Michael slowly sat beside her again, but she hardly acknowledged his existence.
"Little one, slow down," he mused, reaching his hand out for the water bottle. "You're gonna cho-"
He was cut off by Starlin suddenly spitting out a mouthful of water as she began to cough violently. Amy rushed to her side and rubbed her back as Michael took the bottle from her hands, Starlin too busy choking to react. She spit up a little before reaching for the bottle again.
"Wait just a minute, you're going to make yourself sick." Michael said, setting the water bottle aside. She frowned, but complied. She inched herself towards Michael and Amy, taking half steps as she approached them. Finally, she turned around and sat herself between the two of them. However, she remained silent. The two young adults glanced down at her, both pondering ways to unlock the world that had been trapped away.
Before long, they could see the blue and red flashing lights through the trees. Help had arrived. Michael and Amy glanced down at Starlin. If they could barely touch her, how were they supposed to get her to the paramedics?
"Starlin," Amy called her by name. "Can I pick you up?"
Starlin vigorously shook her head no in response before turning around and pointing to Michael. "You." she said.
Michael furrowed his eyebrows. "Me what?" he asked. Starlin reached her arms up, and Michael got the message. He carefully lifted her onto his hip, frowning upon seeing the slightly hurt look on Amy's face.
"There are some people here to help you." he told Starlin as they began walking in the direction of the large vehicles. Starlin began shaking her head no, her hands latching onto his shirt.
"I know you're scared, but we promise it'll be alright." Amy soothed as they continued walking. Paramedics began jumping out of the large white ambulance and preparing for Starlin. Michael and Amy watched as they opened the back doors and pulled out a stretcher.
Starlin began to scream, desperately clinging to Michael and delving her face in his neck. There was absolutely no way she was going to let any other people touch her without a fight. It seemed that all adults besides this boy and this girl only wanted to scare or hurt her.
Once they got close, one of the EMTs rushed to them and took Starlin from Michael's arms. She screeched and began flailing her limbs in a pathetic attempt to escape. Michael and Amy followed close behind the EMT as he ran back to the car and placed Starlin on the stretcher.
"You two did the right thing," he said, his voice raised over Starlin's cries of fear. "We'll take it from here."
Michael and Amy exchanged a glance before looking back down at Starlin. She was thrashing against the EMT who was trying to get an IV in her arm, her eyes wide with the same terror that was there when she had first met the couple. She was crying, but no tears came from her eyes. Despite the water she had drank, she was still dehydrated.
"No." Amy replied to the EMT. "We want to go with her. She has no family to be there."
The EMT stared at her for a brief moment before giving the two a nod. "Only one of you can ride in the ambulance, however."
Amy looked at Michael. "You go." she said. "She'll let you get close."
Michael smiled empathetically and pulled the car keys out of his pocket, handing them to her. "Be safe. I'll meet you there."
"I love you." Amy said, kissing him on the cheek.
"I love you too." Michael replied. He turned and began walking to the ambulance, where they were loading the stretcher into the back. Starlin cried out and fought the EMT who was holding her down to prevent her from running away.
Michael climbed into the back and sat beside the stretcher. Starlin's cries quieted a little when she noticed he was there, but they didn't stop. Michael jumped at the sudden sound of the sirens outside of the vehicle, and became slightly off balance for a moment as the vehicle began to move.
Starlin gripped onto his hand tightly, reaching her other arm out to him as if asking for him to pick her up. An IV was attached to her small hand.
Michael sighed and rubbed her hand with his thumb as her cries grew louder, above the sounds of the sirens. She was so frightened, so mistrusting. Michael felt as if he'd betrayed her by letting the paramedics take her away from the small moment of comfort she'd had.
He hung his head and rubbed at his face.
What had he gotten himself into?
And that's the first chapter! I hope you all enjoy!
Ciao!

Duuuude that cal x reader pregnancy HC was so fucking cute I can’t. Do u think I could do one with Luke plz???
LUKE X PREGNANT READER (bonus proposal)
(poly) (Cal) (Ash) (Michael)
-ya’ll really out here making a bitch like me want babies huh?
-okay. so Luke adores you
-you’ve been together for a while and he’s never been more in love
-it’s written all over his face
-the two of you go out all the time and there’s always children out and about and Luke notices you’re always smiling at the children
-or sometimes your grip on his hand tightens and you squeal a little, “did you see that baby?!”
-and Luke’s always loved how cute you are with Petunia but he starts to notice even more
-especially when people start referring to you as Petunia’s mom on social media
-its like everywhere he looks he starts to notice you’re amazing with kids and animals
-he’s out with the boys getting coffee and some kids are running around on the plaza and Luke’s watching them, Calum notices and nudges him and is like “what’s that about?” and Luke’s just like “what do you guys think about kids?”
-Ashton, of course, is down as fuck for kids but this boys still gotta find a girlfriend first. Cal and Michael are meh about it, not really something they’re thinking about, “why, are you and Y/N thinking about it?”
-”no. well. yes. well. maybe. fuck i don’t know. i just keep seeing her with kids and animals and… it’s something i’m considering but i haven’t really talked to her about it.” Luke sighs.
-they talk about the pros and cons but it doesn’t really help at all
-Luke gets home and immediately finds you sleeping with Petunia in bed and he gets so soft for you
-he jumps onto the bed and wakes you up with a kiss, “hey beautiful.”
-Petunia jumps off the bed because this dog knows whats coming ;)
-it’s all loving and sweet, missionary so he can kiss you because he adores you, and then he’s just like “fuck, wanna pump a baby into you.” (classic Breeding kink Luke line fam.)
-you laugh a little, pulling him into a kiss before looking into his eyes, “okay.”
-”just like that?” he asks.
-you shrug. you’d definitely been thinking about it too, “Luke. i want kids with you.”
-boy tears that condom off before you can say anything else
-it had already been loving but this is next level because you’re both pushing for something
-lots of low moans and kisses, him burying his face in your neck while you pet his hair
-its actually just amazing. you’ve never had a connection like you have with Luke and it’s mind blowing
-post sex cuddling where you actually talk about having kids
-agreeing that if you get pregnant, Luke’s gotta take some cooking classes so he doesn’t accidentally kill your child or have it die of starvation if you go for a week vacation without him or something
-and now that you’re talking about it and you have a goal: getting pregnant, ya’ll just wanna reach that goal
-a lot of sex
-the boys come over for dinner plans and they notice there’s something weird going on because you and Luke look even more in love
-and then the two of you disappear after dinner in your own house and the boys are like “what the fuck.”
-Luke comes back looking really happy and they’re just like “you’re trying to get Y/N pregnant aren’t you?”
-Luke fesses up right away
-”so who’s going to be the godfather?” “yeah, you going Bonzi or Fonzi on this one?” “obviously it’s going to be me, i’m the best with kids.”
-so you have a pregnancy app thing to tell you when the best time to have sex is but ya’ll just have sex all the time just in case
-you both count down the days until you’re supposed to get your period, waiting three days after it was supposed to start and didn’t before you both go to get a pregnancy test
-by this point all the boys know exactly when your doing the pregnancy test because all they’ve been hearing about for almost a month is ‘optimal fertility day, can’t come out boys’ or ‘shes at about a medium fertility possibility so i think i’m going to cancel on you guys tonight sorry.’
-they’re all waiting for the call to say if you’re pregnant
-Michael suggested they face time while you pee and everything but Luke thought that was too far
-you pee on the stick and then you and Luke wait. he is literally holding Petunia and rocking her back and forth while you wait
-you both think it’s been long enough and he sets Petunia down as you go into the bathroom to look at the stick
-you bet your ass this boy is going to lift you up and kiss you when it says positive but then he’ll set you down and get on his knees, pushing his face against your stomach
-so many ‘i love you’s
-the boys getting the group text that says your pregnant
-they all immediately go out to buy baby stuff and totally all bump into each other at the store (insert spider man pointing at spider man meme here)
-fighting over who’s allowed to buy what
-they all show up at your place with stuff to celebrate
-Ashton pulling you aside and mentioning that Luke can’t build furniture for shit so if you need help you can call him
-telling your families and everyone is so excited
-Luke is so protective over you, like he constantly needs to be touching you
-the two of you planning a baby room
-doing the whole painting thing where he flicks paint at you and you end up having a mini paint war which ends with the two of you sleeping together and paint getting everywhere
-its so cute
-going and looking at baby stuff and someone totally gets a picture of it and suddenly the entire fandom is having a meltdown
-Ashton was right about Luke not being able to build a crib for shit but it just leads to a lot of laughing and kissing and cursing
-your bump starts to show and Luke looses it. like. he can’t stop smiling.
-he takes way too many pictures of it
-posting a picture of him standing behind you with a hand on your bump on Instagram and everyone in the fandom dies
-he posts it while you’re out and your mentions blow up. when you get home Luke has made dinner and you are so shook because this boi has been secretly taking cooking classes (from Cal but still) so he can make you food
-i mean, it’s not amazing, it’s something simple like spaghetti and meatballs but still it’s the thought that counts
-and he gives you a glass of sparking juice because you can’t do alcohol and as you’re sipping it you realize there’s something in the bottom of the glass.
-”Luke-” “just drink your juice babe.” he grins.
-you roll your eyes and down the glass, careful not to get whatever is in the bottom in your mouth.
-then you look inside and it’s a ring
-this fucker put an engagement in your juice
-his hand covers yours, “do you wanna marry me?” like. this fucker.
-”yes!”
-and he didn’t really plan it that well because you both have to stand up from your seats to kiss and he’s an awkward, accident prone giant who almost knocks over the table and the ring is wet but somehow it’s perfect
-(oof, Luke sucking your finger with the ring on it to get the juice off)
-a baby on the way and a wedding
-and Luke is so fucking in love of course he’s not going to hide the fact that you said yes so he posts an insta picture of the ring
-yeah the fandom has died. they’re a gonner
-talking about your future. deciding you want to get married after the baby is born, sometime in the summer
-having the cutest domestic life together
-lots of cock warming while deciding baby things because boy can’t say no while he’s buried inside of you
-he loves having his arm over your shoulders and he is so protective when you’re out and about
-the other boys act almost like security guards around you when you’re all out
-Luke spoils the shit out of you
-he turns into a grandpa driver when he drives you two around and people honk at him for driving below the speed limit
-and Petunia is protective too, like she doesn’t leave your side
-and he becomes addicted to buying things for the baby
-like… he always arrives home with another baby onesie or lil shoes
-”if this keeps up, lil Hemmo’s going to have more clothes than I do.” you tease
-deciding not to know the gender
-(tbh i wanna say he gets twins and that’s a whole different thing but i can write that somewhere else another time)
-as you get bigger and bigger and its closer to your due date Luke is freaking out he’s so worried about you
-the boys have a group chat just about you and the baby so as soon as something happens they’ll all know
-everyone is getting so excited about it
-the day it happens you’re in the kitchen eating something you were craving and your water breaks
-”Luke!” you say
-he comes running right away and his eyes widen when he sees the liquid on the floor
-he freaks out and helps you to the car
-he still drives the speed limit and you’re sitting there groaning because of contractions and he’s just like holy fucking shit
-getting to the hospital and the boys are already there because none of them drove the speed limit
-Luke is there the whole time, holding your hand and kissing your forehead
-you bet your ass this boi cries when the nurses clean off the baby and give it to him the first time
-im too soft fam. too soft.

Single (pt 1)
Tumblr media
--Luke is a single dad, that’s pretty much the plot lol-- "Izzy! You need to hurry up or you're going to be late! You don't want to miss your first day of Kindergarten!" Luke yelled up the stairs watching the little girl poke her head out of her room. He held her backpack up and smiled. "It's the one you picked out and everything!"
The little girl shook her head, her blonde hair sticking up in all directions. "I don't want to go Daddy!" She yelled, running back inside the room, closing the door behind her.
Luke sighed softly, pinching the bridge of his nose as he put the backpack down; going up the stairs to his daughters room. "Izzy, you're gonna love Kindergarten! Why wouldn't you want to go?" He asked as he opened the door and walked inside, sitting down on the edge of her bed, watching as she climbed up to sit next to him.
"I don't want to 'cause I won't be with you all day." She told him, gently resting her head on his arm. She balled up her pink princess comforter in her hands and looked up at him with the slight hint of tears in her eyes.
"I know peanut. But daddy has a lot of things to do, and you need to go to school." Luke chuckled, gently kissing her head. "So now you have to get dressed, because I know you're going to have a great first day. No need for tears." He smiled, gently running his thumb over her cheek.
Isabella nodded, jumping off the bed quickly and seeming to not be upset in the slightest. "Okay Daddy. I'll go." She smiled up at him.
He smiled back, gently holding her hand as they walked downstairs; going outside to the car. "Now when we get to the school, I'm going to walk you in, okay?" He told her as he started to strap her into the car seat, handing her a plastic bag full of cereal to eat on the drive there.
"Daddy I have a question." Isabella asked, her mouth full as she gently kicked the back of Luke's seat.
"What is it?" He asked, stopping at a red light and looking at her from the rear view.
She paused for a moment, looking at the cereal in her hands"When is Mommy going to come back?"
Luke sighed under his breath as he started driving again, easily pulling into the school parking lot and parking. He got out, going over to her side of the car and helping her out, grabbing her backpack. "I don't know peanut, she had to go away for a while." He held her backpack in one hand, while the other gently held Isabella's hand.
"Am I going to get a new Mommy then?" She asked while they walked inside the school.
Luke thanked the Gods when they made it outside of her classroom so he didn't have to answer the question. The teacher was outside the room, greeting the parents and students, and the minute Luke saw her he swore the world stopped. Everything around him seemed to be an afterthought (including his daughter). She was just breathtaking; not just beautiful, but sexy.
Wow. He can't remember the last time he had sex.
"Hi, I'm Miss (Y/n), and you are?" She asked, pulling him out of the slight trance he was in."Luke. Luke Hemmings. This is my daughter Isabella." He smiled, looking down at the little girl who was holding onto his leg. "She likes to be called Izzy."
(Y/n) bent down and looked at Isabella. "Hi Izzy. I know that you're going to have such a fun time in school today, and you're going to have to make sure you remember everything so you can tell your dad all about it."
"Can he come to school with me?" The little girl asked, gently starting to pull herself away from her fathers leg.
She couldn't help but laugh as she shook her head. "No, honey he can't. But why don't you run inside and go play with the toys."
Isabella's eyes lit up at the mention of toys and she looked up at Luke with a bright smile on her face. "Bye Daddy! I'm going to go play with the toys!" She yelled as she ran inside the classroom.
"You have such a beautiful little girl." (Y/n) smiled as she looked at Luke. "Is it only you taking care of her?"
Luke nodded. "Yeah, it's just me. Things with her mother are a little..complicated. I'm doing okay I guess." He smiled slightly, trying to stay calm in front of her; even if his heart was beating out of his chest.
She smiled, her eyes glancing into the classroom to check on the children who were either happily playing or begging their parents not to leave. "It must be hard raising Izzy all by yourself.”
Shrugging, Luke shook his head. "It's not too bad. I get a lot of help from my friends and my mom." He laughed, running a hand through his hair. "They love her, my friend Ashton especially."
She laughed, reaching inside the room and grabbing a paper, handing it to Luke. "So this is just the daily schedule. You can see that we have snacks, and lunch, and then nap time. I'll see you at the end of the day?" She asked, pushing her hair behind her ear as she looked at him.
Luke nodded. "Yep, I'll see you then. Take good care of my baby." He said as he watched her turn around and go into the classroom.

Summary: Class is an age old concept--almost as old as the concept of human slavery, and in a world where buying humans is a standard behavior by those who can afford it, Luke's only hope as a member of the lower class is that he falls into the hands of a decent buyer--the hands of Ashton Irwin and his partners. Luke knows he has one chance to please his buyers or he risks getting put back on the market, but he's thrown for a loop when Ashton admits that Luke is the one that gets to call the shots. In an attempt to find security with the trio, Luke braces himself and gives them the green light to do whatever they want with him.
He had no idea they would refuse.

First, they were working on their new album, then they were on the road on tour, before finally, after months of the toy collecting dust in their closet, they had free time. Michael was the one to stumble across the toy while…doing some research. He immediately sent the link to Ashton and Calum with a simple caption of ‘for Luke’. Safe to say, they bought it pretty quickly.
Luke is a little anxious to try out the new toy, but with a little reassurance from his boyfriends and a demonstration from Calum, he agrees to give it a go.

At this, he nearly choked for the second time that morning, since he just happened to know someone with that name. That someone being, his next door neighbour, the very hot neighbour, who Ashton may or may not have a huge crush on.
Yeah, that Luke Hemmings. Who apparently orders sex toys online...who knew? Definitely not Ashton.
Playing In My Head (ao3) - lourrygum michael/luke, calum/ashton E, 7k
Summary: "So I'm supposed to wear this thing during the interview?" Luke asks hoarsely as he gets what Michael's planning, biting back a moan as he tries to sit back and it brushes against his prostate.
"I'd like it a lot if you'd do that, yeah," Michael smiles at him.

What Was Our Life Even Before That? - Dad!Calum
A/N: @calumbuttersmyeggroll suggested this and I liked it, so I went in and did it. Hope it’s good :)
Pairing: Dad!Calum x Reader
Warnings: Cuteness???
Words: 2721
Summary: When Calum tucks Kaea, his and Y/N’s four-year-old daughter into bed, she wants to hear the story about how her parents met. It brings a lot of old memories to Calum’s mind and he reminisces with his wife, coming to the conclusion that life was better with their little angel.
Tumblr media
“Daddy,” Kaea mumbles when her dad tucks her into bed.  “Yes, Ace?” Calum asks, stroking her hair out of her face.  “I had a lot of fun today at the park. Can we do that more?” she asks as her eyes start to droop. Calum had just gotten back from tour, but promised his little girl he’d take her and her mommy to the park today to play. He kept that promise and they had a fun day filled with laughter and love.  Calum looks at his daughter for a moment and sighs. He hates to dissapoint her.  “You know daddy has to go back to work soon, Princess, and I won’t be back for a little while. So, I can’t promise you to do it more often if I’m not home. But I can promise you, that next time I’m home, I’ll take you wherever you want to go,” he says, and the little girl’s eyes widen.  “Wherever I wanna go?” she asks, suddenly super excited and a lot less tired than she was before. Calum laughs a little at the adorableness of his little girl.  “Yes, wherever you wanna go.” “Even to Disneyland?” she asks.  “Yes, even to Disnelyland,” Calum tells her, “But right now, you have to go to sleep and dream about Disney until I get back, okay?” the little girl nods her head as she settles back down. Calum presses a kiss to her forehead, her eyes fluttering shut for a moment.  “Daddy,” she then says again, stopping Calum from getting up.  “Yes, Ace?” he asks with a small smile.  “Can you tell me the story about Princess Y/N and the rockstar? Mommy always tells me it before bed,” Calum’s a little surprised, but knows exactly what story she wants to hear. The one about him and his beautiful wife, Y/N.  “Once upon a time, there was a Princess called Y/N. She was beautiful and had a lovely family. They lived in a beautiful castle until the dragons attacked. Y/N’s parents didn’t survive the attack and were taken by the dragons. Now, Y/N had to go and live with her auntie and uncle who made her work at a hotel. It was a hard and difficult job, but Y/N managed fine. She was a strong woman and could handle everything. One day, a rockstar, named Calum entered the hotel. He and his bandmates needed a place to sleep before their concert...” Calum’s mind drifted off to the very first time he saw Y/N while still telling Kaea the story.
“How can I help you?” she asked the boys with a friendly smile on her face. Her face was smiling, but her eyes definitely weren’t. But still, there was something so enchanting and so radiant about her that Calum couldn’t speak for a moment. And he was the one at the front, so the girl would’ve expected him to speak.  “We’re checking in,” Ashton then said instead of his friend, saving him from the awkwardness a little.  “Names and ID’s please,” the girl orders kindly whilst checking something on her computer. The boys give her their ID’s, and she looks them up in the system. “Yes, I have two rooms for you guys. Both with two queen sized beds for one night with breakfast, correct?” she questions and the boys nod. “Alright, breakfast is served from seven until half past ten. The bar is open during the whole day for a good drink and a chat. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask any member of the staff and we’ll help you straight away,” she explains to them whilst giving two keys.  “OK, thanks, love,” Luke says and takes both keys and his ID while the others take theirs. The girl wishes the boys a nice stay before they wander off to their rooms. For the rest of the day, Calum hadn’t been able to take his mind off the girl at the reception. Her kind smile, but dark eyes kept haunting him. They kept coming back into his mind. It caused a bit of a disruptance during their show that night and even between them. The other boys wanted to know what the hell was wrong with their bassist. But the truth is, the bassist didn’t even know. He didn’t know what had gotten into him. He just knew he had to talk to the girl, maybe get to know her better. Maybe she was worse than she seemed to be. Maybe she was all he ever dreamed of.  After the show, when they gotten back to the hotel, Calum wandered off to the bar to try and get his mind straight. There was only one way he could possibly do that; with alcohol. Now, alcohol mostly isn’t the answer and it won’t solve anything and it’s probably a bad way to handle things. But right then and there, he couldn’t care less.   “What can I get you?” a voice he recognized from earlier made him jump out of his thoughts. He had settled down on a stool at the bar, his head still wrapped up around the thoughts of alcohol. He looked up to find the sad, mysterious Y/E/C eyes of the girl behind the front desk. But  now, she was behind the bar. Calum gives her a weird look.  “Weren’t you behind the front desk earlier?” he asks, a little confused.  “Weren’t you the one who wasn’t talking before?” she answers with a question and a sly smile on her face. “But yeah, I was. We do things in shifts here. I’m at the front desk in the mornings and at the bar at night. I sometimes do breakfast and housekeeping too,” she explains the inner-workings of the hotel.  “Oh, that makes sense, yeah,” Calum nods his head, then falls silent again. She’s actually really nice. But he can’t let the wall tumble down around him. He as to keep it up. There’s no room in his life for a girl. There’s no room in his career. He just can’t do it. He’s only eighteen years old. There’s still plenty of time to fall in love, but now is not that time.  “I’m Y/N, by the way,” she then says, “What can I get you ...?” she was very clearly fishing for his name right then. It made Calum look up again.  “Something strong, something to take my mind of off things,” he mumbles and looks back at his hands. He feels nervous and sad and a little numb, even. Nervous because of the girl in front of him. Sad because he fucked up the performance tonight. And numb ... Because that’s how he feels most of the times nowadays.  “Drinking to forget?” Y/N asks as she pours whatever liqour she has into a glass before sliding it towards him. His large hand wraps around the glass and he brings it to his lips, taking a large gulp. The liquid slides down his throat and the bitterness makes him shiver.  “Drinking to get my mind straight,” he replies the girl.  “Tough night?” she then asks. Calum looks up again and he can tell by just looking into her eyes, that she wants to get her mind off something too. She wants to hear his stories to forget about hers. And that’s how everything started. They talked the entire night. Even after her shift was done, they went to sit at a table and talked and drank. For once, everything felt right. Everything fell right into place at that moment. Maybe he did have time and place in his life and career for a girl. Because maybe this felt right. This felt like destiny.
“And then, Y/N and Calum got a little girl named Kaea and lived happily ever after with their little princess,” Calum concludes the story right as Kaea’s eyes fall shut and she falls into a deep slumber, ready to dream about princesses and princes. Calum smiles lovingly and presses his lips to her forehead lightly before getting up.  “She loves that story,” Y/N says when she meets her husband at the bedroom door. He turns off the lights and pushes Y/N softly, just so he can close the door behind him. “It’s my favourite to tell her,” she says with a smile. Calum wraps an arm around her shoulder, pressing her against his chest and kissing her on her hair as they walk downstairs to the living room.  “Do you think she knows it’s our story?” Calum then asks her while they sit down on the sofa. Y/N shrugs and sighs.  “I don’t know, I think so. I think that’s why it comforts her so much,” Y/N explains, snuggling into her husband’s side.  “Telling that story took me way back,” Calum then whispers as his fingers go up and down her arm. “It’s like I felt everything I felt back then when I first met you all over again,” he tells her, the images flashing back into his mind.  “That was one very drunk night with a lot of secrets I wouldn’t have told my best friend,” Y/N chuckles. Calum hums while his mind goes to all the other times he went to the hotel Y/N worked at. Every time he was in Los Angeles that year for the band -- whether it was a show or for promo tour -- he’d always make sure he’d go back to that hotel. For about a year, they had a long-distance-friends-with-benefits kinda relationship. They didn’t want to put labels on it and they didn’t want any strings attached. That was until one day...
“Calum...” Y/N said out of breath as she pushed Calum away from her slightly. It had been months since they’d seen each other, and to say they missed one another is an understatement. Calum had been thinking and dreaming about this moment for a long, long time. He’d even thought of telling her to cut the crap and take the relationship to another level. He’d developped strong feelings for her and he needed to act on it, otherwise he’d explode.  “Mmh?” Calum mumbled, pressing his lips into her neck and sucking on the skin. Y/N desperately tried to push him away from her, and when she finally managed to do so, Calum gave her a quizical look.  “Calum, I- I’m pregnant,”  Y/N stared at the ground for a moment as the words rolled off her lips. She didn’t dare to look at Calum. She was too scared of the dissapointed and frightend expression on his face.  “Y/N...” he then mumbled, “Y/N, what the fuck? This isn’t-- we can’t -- I can’t...” he rambled on and started pacing through the room with his hands in his hair.  “Calum, please, stand still for a moment so we can discuss this,” she said, tears welling up in her eyes.  “No, I can’t... We can’t...” he mumbled and continued to pace the floor, “We’re only nineteen, Y/N. What about our careers? What about my career? What about the band?” it almost seemed like he was more talking to himself than to you. He kept on mumbling things about being too young for this and how his career is going to suffer from this and how they’re not even married or together offiially. He mumbled things about abortion and adoption, but Y/N couldn’t really comprehend what he was saying.  He then suddenly stopped pacing all together and walked over to Y/N to sit down next to her on the bed. The boy took a deep breath, grabbing both Y/N’s hands. His dark brown eyes stared into her watery ones.  “What do you want to do?” he then asked, really wanting to know what she wanted. Because what he wanted wasn’t as important. As if his job wasn’t as important. As if the fact that they were so young wasn’t so important anymore.  “I don’t know, Cal. I wanna keep the baby on one hand, because I always dreamed of having a baby and what if I can’t get pregnant after this? What if this is my only shot? But on the other hand, I do think we’re too young and I’d still have to work at the hotel if we want to have money to bring this baby up. Especially if you don’t want to. I’d understand if you wouldn’t want to with your career with the band and stuff and I --” she got cut off by Calum kissing her on the lips, mostly just to shut her up from rambling and to avoid her having a panic attack. Calum, still holding onto Y/N’s hands, looked into her eyes when they pulled back, to make sure she was listening, and to make sure the message got across right.  “Whatever you decide to do, Y/N, I’ll be right there with you. If you decide to keep the baby, we’ll make it work with the band. I’ll take more time off from touring and I’ll be there as much as I can for you and for this baby, okay? And if you do decide to go for an abortion, I’ll go with you to the hospital and I’ll be there by your side every step of the way. We might be young, but Y/N, I love you and I wanna have this baby with you if you want to. You just have to say the word.” Tears rolled down Y/N’s face as he said what he had to say.  “I love you too,” she then whispers, “Let’s have this baby,” the words make Calum smile like nothing ever made him smile. He leans forwards to kiss her, placing one of his hands on her belly. This was the most exciting, yet frightening thing he was ever going to do. But he was so ready for it. He needed to be. For her.
“I think I’m gonna go to bed, babe,” Y/N then says after a couple of minutes of watching a movie in silence. Calum hadn’t even been paying attention to the movie as he was too caught up into the memory.  “Right, yeah, I’m coming with you,” he says and gets up to follow his wife to the bedroom. The two of them get ready for bed and crawl underneath the sheets together. Y/N rests her head upon his bare chest and takes a deep breath.  “Remember how much I hated  you while I was pregnant with Kaea?” Y/N asks him, her eyes already closed as she was relaxing into his warmth and soft touch.  “Yeah, I remember,” Calum chuckles, “I remember the angry phone calls in the middle of the night saying how much you hated me for leaving you alone with this ‘thing’ inside of you and your swollen ankles,” he reminisces the good old times. Y/N laughs a little and presses a little kiss to his chest.  “But the moment we came up with a name was just amazing though. That did make up for all those ugly moments of feeling utterly useless,” she says.  “Yeah, it was at dinner with my parents, right?” he asks, trying to remember the moment as well.  “Yeah, your mom was talking about your Maori heritage and your cousin Kai,” Y/N explains, remembering it vividly.  “Right! I remember you hearing that name and your head just snapped towards me and you had these wide, crazy eyes, and I just knew you wanted to name our kid Kai if it was a boy,” Calum remembers with a smile on his face.  “And then your mom caught on and I said it out loud and it sounded so good. Your mother then said ‘Maybe Kaea for a girl’ and she spelled it out and in my mind, it looked so pretty,” she tells with the widest smile on her face.  “She looked pretty,” Calum mumbles, remembering the first day he met his little angel. Y/N hums in agreement.  “She’s gorgeous,” Y/N sighs, “I can’t believe it’s been four years already since we had her,” Calum chuckles at that.  “What was our life even before that?”  “A lot of hooking up and missing each other,” Y/N chuckles and Calum laughs too. They then give each other one last goodnight kiss before settling in and falling asleep with their little angel just right next door; sound asleep.

“Are you excited to see Daddy play tonight?”
“Yeah!” Kai cheered excitedly, practically bouncing in his car seat.
This was Kai’s first time seeing the guys perform. Aroha had seen them a couple times, but she didn’t remember the shows. For Aroha and Kai’s first time seeing the band together, Calum got them matching 5 Seconds of Summer t-shirts in child’s sizes with “Hood” printed on the back, and then surprised you with one as well. Of course, he got one for himself, and you secretly hoped he would wear it on stage.
Calum was already at the venue for soundcheck, and you were just arriving from the airport. He had been on tour for about a month, and the kids were already restless to see him again, so you and Calum worked out a plan to come visit. You were sure this would be one of multiple visits for the tour; not that you minded.
The car that was sent to pick you up eventually pulled up to the back of the venue, and you ushered Aroha and Kai out of the car as the driver assured you that your luggage would be taken to a safe place until you were ready to head to the hotel. You kindly thanked the man and slipped him a tip before being let inside by the security guard.
Much to your surprise, Calum was standing just inside waiting for you. Big smiles spread across your faces, and Aroha and Kai were quick to drop your hands to run to him.
“Daddy!” They exclaimed, reaching their little arms up to hug him. Calum dropped to his knees and pulled them close, peppering their cheeks with loving kisses.
“Oh, my babies, I’ve missed you so much!” He cheered. The feeling of his kids in his arms was one that could never be beat. He would miss these days, when they were so little and so enthusiastic. The mere thought of his babies growing up made his heart clench, and he tried to keep those thoughts out of his mind as much as possible and cherish the moments he had.
“We’re gonna see you sing tonight, Daddy!” Aroha announced as if he didn’t already know. Calum chuckled and ruffled the dark curls on her head.
“I know, peanut, I’m excited! Are you guys excited?”
He received passionate affirmations from both children and the smile that had been resting on his lips since he saw the door open only got wider. He pressed one more kiss to each of their foreheads before starting to stand up right.
“Let me say hi to Mommy, okay?” He mumbled, releasing his grip on them and making his way over to you. He noticed the happy tears welling in your eyes as he opened his arms, and you wasted no time in throwing yourself at him. You breathed in the scent of his cologne and relished in the familiar feeling of his arms around you.
“I missed you so much,” you whispered, feeling his lips come in contact with your hairline.
“I missed you, too, sweetheart,” he sighed. He tilted your head up to capture your lips in a sweet kiss, making up for all the kisses you didn’t get to share in the past month of him being gone. You could hear Aroha and Kai express their disgust at the affection, but you and Calum only chuckled lightly against each other at the childish actions.
As you pulled away from the hug, your gaze landed on the shirt he was wearing. Just like you had hoped, he was wearing the band shirt that you and the kids had on, over his long sleeved black and white striped shirt.
“You gonna wear that shirt on stage tonight?” You asked hopefully, smiling brightly up at him.
“‘Course I’m wearing it. Gotta match with you guys.”
You let out a giggle, and Calum cocked his head to the side to lead you to the dressing room that he was in. Aroha and Kai immediately reached up to grab his hands, and you walked beside them. The kids talked his ear off the whole walk back, asking him questions and telling him all about the travel to get there. He listened intently with a smile, trying to answer their questions quickly before they moved on to the next thing.
As you all turned the corner to the dressing room, another voice caught your attention.
“Would you look at that, it’s the Hood kiddos!”
“Uncle Ash!”
Aroha and Kai ran to greet Ashton who lifted them both up off the ground, spinning around as they giggled wildly. It made both you and Calum nervous for a moment, but you trusted him.
“Y/N, hey!”
You turned at the sound of your name, shooting a smile to Luke and Sierra as they approached you with open arms.
“Hey, you.”
You shared a quick hug with them as the kids found Uncle Mikey, and Ashton came up to greet you as well. Michael greeted you last while Aroha and Kai ran to Luke and Sierra.
“How about we have a family cuddle before the show?” Calum suggested when Aroha and Kai returned to you. Everyone perked up at the suggestion; family cuddles were very common in the Hood household, and there never really needed to be a reason. You all simply loved snuggling in together and being close.
Calum led you into the dressing room and immediately flopped onto the large couch, opening his arms.
“Come on, my loves. I haven’t gotten a good cuddle in a month.”
You took your usual spot next to him, laying on your back by his side as Aroha and Kai climbed on top of you, snuggling into your chests. Calum sighed in content, one hand resting on Aroha’s back while the other wiggled around to find yours. He laced your fingers together and gave them a squeeze.
“Love you guys,” Calum mumbled, his eyes on you. “Thank you for coming to see me.”
“We love you, too,” you whispered in return, a soft smile on your face. “We’ll always come see you, bubba.”
Calum tilted his head to peck your lips, feeling beyond fulfilled having his wonderful family with him while he did what he loved. It wasn’t easy, being away from his wife and kids, but he managed to survive. You all did. It still broke his heart when he received late night texts from you, informing that Aroha or Kai had been crying for him, and he couldn’t be there to hold them and soothe them.
The four of you cuddled and talked quietly amongst yourselves until a knock on the door got your attention, and the voice on the outside informed you that there was ten minutes until showtime. The kids begrudgingly crawled off the couch, wishing you could cuddle a little longer but still excited to see the show, and you and Calum both stood up, still holding hands.
You exited the dressing room and a crew member handed Calum his bass.
“Wait!” You announced, slipping your phone from the pocket of your jeans. “We need a family picture in our matching shirts.” Calum chuckled and called Ashton over to take the picture. You and Calum crouched down behind Aroha and Kai, and everybody smiled wide for the camera. You then took one with your backs to the camera, making sure to get in “Hood” printed on the back.
“Thanks, Ash,” you mumbled gratefully as you took your phone back, making a mental note to send them to Calum and put them on Instagram later.
“You’ll need these,” another crew member said as he walked up, holding out two pairs of headphones for the kids. You remembered Aroha hated them in the past, whining and trying to pull them off, and you could only hope that she would deal with them better this time around. She also hated the noise even with the headphones on, and you thought it would be safe to assume that she wouldn’t like it this time either. You grabbed one pair and Calum grabbed the other.
“What are these for?” Kai asked curiously as Calum knelt down in front of them to place them on his head. He cringed for a moment as they slipped over his ears, and he patted them with his little hands for a moment, but he didn’t seem to be hating them.
“They protect your ears, bud,” he explained, softly pinching his cheek. “The music is going to be very loud.”
Just as he finished his explanation, he heard a whine come from Aroha.
“No, Mommy! Don’t like them!”
“I know they’re uncomfortable, sweetheart, but you’ll hurt your ears if you don’t wear them.” You tried to reason with her nicely. “Look, Kai is wearing them!”
She glanced over at her brother with a scrunched up face for a moment, but still shook her head. Calum sighed, hearing the conversation, and plucked the headphones off her head before placing them on his own.
“Daddy is wearing them, too!” He exclaimed, hoping that seeing him wearing them would make her feel better about it. She still looked hesitant, so Calum beckoned over Luke.
“Hey, put these on,” Calum muttered under his breath, handing them to him. Luke shot him a questioning look. “Just do it, please.” Luke placed them on his head slowly, still looking confused. “Uncle Luke wears them too!”
Luke caught on to what Calum was doing and nodded his head.
“Do I like pretty, Roro?” Luke joked, striking a silly pose. Aroha giggled loudly, nodding her head.
“Pretty,” she repeated and beamed at her uncle. Luke handed the headphones back to Calum, quickly fixing his hair.
“You look very pretty in them too,” Luke added, and Calum slowly placed them back on her head. Thankfully she didn’t argue any further, and you silently did a cheer that there were no tears this time.
“Two minutes, boys!”
You followed Calum backstage, and the screams of the fans were already loud. Aroha and Kai’s hands immediately flew to their headphones, pressing them further into their ears.
“It’s ok, loves, just the crowd,” Calum mumbled soothingly.
“Say ‘good luck’ to Daddy, babies!” You encouraged, and Calum crouched down to pull them into his arms. They chorused their good luck wishes, beyond excited to see their father and their uncles sing.
“Play Mesia, Daddy!” Kai cheered enthusiastically. He meant Amnesia, which was his favorite song of the guys, but he had trouble pronouncing it, so it always came out as “Mesia.” He always danced to it like it was an upbeat, happy song, trying to sing along, and you had many videos that you and Calum always sent to Luke, Michael and Ashton.
“And Youngblood!” Aroha added in her favorite song.
“Don’t worry, we’ll play both of those,” Calum chuckled, giving them each another kiss on the cheek before standing up. “You guys stay by Mommy during the show, okay?”
They nodded in agreement as Calum came over to you, pulling you into his arms again. You pressed a kiss to his jaw, something you always did before he went on stage when you were there to watch shows. It was like your little good luck charm for him.
“Kill it out there, rockstar,” you mumbled, shooting him a grin. He smiled lovingly.
“I will, angel. For you, as always.”
One more kiss and you pulled away as Michael called his name to head on stage.
Once the guys got on stage, you and the kids stood in the wings to watch with Sierra. As soon as the music started, you barely heard Aroha whimper slightly as she backed up into your legs, holding her headphones. You knew she hated loud noise and crowds, but she managed, and you hoped it would get better as she got older. You bent down to her height.
“It’s okay, sweetheart, Mommy’s right here,” you mumbled loud enough so she could hear, and you saw her nod before you stood back up.
She tried to ignore the loudness as the show went on, bouncing around to the music with Kai and singing along to the words she knew. They both cheered for Calum every time he sang, and you could see the smile on his face grow a little bit each time.
“You want to tell everyone about your shirt, Cal?” Michael asked between songs.
“Oh, this?” Calum teased, doing a silly little dance to show off his shirt that made everyone laugh. “Yeah, my wife, Y/N, and my kids, Aroha and Kai are backstage watching right now, and we all have matching shirts. I couldn’t not match with them tonight.”
The crowd awed at his words, and he turned to you and the kids to blow you a kiss.
“Love you guys.”
The kids cheered loudly and you returned the kiss, heart swelling with love for the man in front of you. He was an amazing husband and an even better father, and you couldn’t ask for anything more.
Calum talked for a bit longer before they started playing again, and Aroha turned around towards you with her arms stretched upwards. You lifted her into your arms and noticed the distressed look on her face.
“Too loud, Mommy,” she whimpered, burying her head into your neck. The headphones dug uncomfortably into your collarbone, but you ignored it. “Wanna go.”
“The show’s not over yet, sweetheart,” you mumbled, rubbing her back to soothe her. “Don’t you want to stay and watch Daddy?”
She shook her head, and you sighed in defeat. As much as you wanted to watch, you didn’t want Aroha to be miserable. You thought for a moment, and then remembered that there was a screen in the dressing room.
“Do you want to go back to the dressing room?” You offered. “There’s a screen that we can watch Daddy on, and it won’t be as loud.”
She nodded in agreement, and you bent down to tap Kai on the shoulder. He stopped his adorable dancing for a moment to turn to face you.
“Aroha and I are going to watch Daddy in the dressing room. Do you want to come or do you want to stay here?”
“Stay here!” He answered, crossing his arms. The noise didn’t bother him at all; he was absolutely loving his first concert.
“Okay, that’s fine, buddy. One second.”
You stood up to get Sierra’s attention.
“I’m going to take Aroha to watch from the dressing room, the noise is scaring her. Think you can keep an eye on Kai for me?” You asked hopefully. You didn’t want to ruin Kai’s experience for him.
“Of course!” She answered with a smile, and you thanked her before bending back down to Kai’s height.
“You’re going to stay with Aunt Sierra, okay? Daddy will take you to the dressing room after the show,” you explained, and he nodded, then running over to join Sierra.
You slipped the headphones off Aroha’s head as you got further away from the stage, and she rubbed at her ears to get the discomfort away.
“You okay, sweet girl?” You asked softly as you entered the dressing. She hummed in affirmation and picked her head up from your shoulder. Your heart broke at the tears welling in her eyes that she tried so hard to fight back. You pressed a kiss to her forehead as you sat down on the couch and held her so you could both see the screen. “It’s alright, baby.”
Aroha was perfectly content to watch the show from there, dancing in your lap and cheering even though Calum couldn’t hear her. She always loved to hear Calum sing and watch him play, but the noise was too much for her.
Shortly after you and Aroha left, the guys came offstage for a quick break. Calum looked around for you and the kids, but he only saw Kai with Sierra, which made his eyebrows furrow in both confusion and worry.
“Daddy!” Kai cheered, reaching out his arms to be lifted. Calum did so gladly, pressing kisses to his chubby cheeks.
“Hey, buddy, are you having fun?” He asked. Kai nodded excitedly and Calum turned to Sierra. “Where did Y/N and Aroha go?”
“Aroha was scared of the noise, so Y/N took her back to the dressing room to watch from there,” she explained, and Calum felt his heart clench. It hurt him when his little girl was scared, and as much as he wanted to go give her a cuddle, there wasn’t time for that. He trusted that you were giving her all the cuddles she could ask for.
Kai babbled for a few minutes about the show before Calum had to go back on stage, and he set him back on his feet.
By the time the guys took their final bows and exited the stage, Kai was being held by Sierra, clearly tired, even though he would never admit it. Calum chuckled and plucked his son from her arms, and Kai was quick to rest his head on Calum’s shoulder.
“Did you have fun, Kai?” He asked as he pressed a kiss to his forehead, slowly making his way back to the dressing room where he already knew you and Aroha were. Kai nodded slowly, his adrenaline and excitement quickly wearing off.
“Can we watch you again tomorrow?” He mumbled, and Calum laughed softly.
“Not tomorrow, buddy. We’re going to have fun in the city tomorrow with your uncles, how does that sound?”
“Then can we have waffles for breakfast?”
“Sure, we can have waffles,” Calum chuckled at Kai’s sleepy state. He discovered Aroha was feeling similar as he entered the dressing room, her being cuddled into your chest with her eyes barely open. The late night was clearly getting to them.
“Daddy,” she called softly with a smile once she saw him. She reached out for him, and Calum picked her up as he handed Kai to you.
“Hi, peanut,” he mumbled, giving Aroha a forehead kiss of her own. “Aunt Sierra told me you didn’t like the noise, are you okay now?”
She nodded, snuggling into him like she always did when she was tired. You stood up from the couch to give Calum a kiss.
“You were amazing, bubba,” you murmured. He always amazed you with his talent, and watching him perform was one of your favorite things to do.
“Thanks, my love,” he returned lovingly. “Should we head out to the hotel now, get some sleep?”
“Definitely,” you chuckled. “It is way past their bedtime.”
“I’m not sleepy,” Aroha lied, causing you and Calum to both laugh.
“Whatever you say, peanut.”
By the time you left the venue and got to the hotel, Aroha and Kai were both fast asleep in their carseats, much like you and Calum had expected. You and Calum carefully unbuckled them and picked them up, asking for the luggage to be brought to the room.
Once you got checked in and headed to the room, you settled the sleeping kids in one bed and pulled the covers over them to let them sleep. You and Calum got ready for bed and got comfortable in the other bed. He easily pulled you into his arms, your favorite place to be.
“Thank you again for coming, baby,” he whispered as not to wake the kids. “I love you so much.”
“I love you, too, rockstar.”

Title: Ready?
Reader Pairing: Y/N and Calum
Rating: FLUFF
Description: Single Dad!Calum is afraid for his little boy to finally meet his daddy’s new girlfriend.
Tumblr media
I heard my laptop ping as I flipped a page to my book. I set the book aside, reaching for the laptop on the end of my bed. I got a message from Calum, a guy I’ve been seeing for around nine months, thanks to our mutual friends, Crystal and Michael. I clicked open my messages, smiling at what I read. ‘Hey, babe. Sorry it’s so late. I was finally able to get Ryder down. FaceTime?’ I looked down at the time in the bottom of the screen. 10:23 pm, it read. I quickly typed back to him, soon erasing the message and just clicking on his contact, pressing the FaceTime button.
The call rang a few times, soon a swooshing sound was made and a sleepy Cal took over the screen. “Hey, baby.” He mumbled, a hand behind his head, the other rubbing his eye as his own laptop sat on his stomach. “Hey,” I smiled, my voice soft. Both hands now sat behind his head, propping him up to look at the camera. “How was your day?” He asked, a yawn admitting his face. “It was okay. A long day at work. What about you, baby?” He smiled at the nickname, another yawn escaping his mouth. “S’ good. Long. Very long. Ryder didn’t wanna go to sleep, so we had to go watch a movie until he passed out.” I smiled at the mention of his son.
Calum had a relationship with a girl about four years ago. She got pregnant, had the baby, and left them to fend for themselves while she ran away to Las Vegas to party constantly. I was the first girlfriend Calum has had since then. “How’s little man?” I asked. Calum smiled softly, his eyes crinkling. Ryder was one of his favorite topics, always smiling and telling crazy stories the two of them had embarked on. “He’s doing good. He asked me the other day why I’ve been so happy recently. Told me I’m happier than when we go see Mali after so long.” He chuckled softly, my cheeks forming a blush. I dropped my face, hiding my pink cheeks. “Sarah, this girl I work with, has been asking about you nonstop. She’s also been asking when you’re gonna bring you and Ryder to the restaurant for a free milkshake.” Calum smiled widely, “One day. I promise.” I nodded my head.
I had yet to meet Ryder, desperately asking Calum when I get to meet the supposed little ball of sunshine everyone talks about. “Are you super tired?” He spoke up, his voice cracking from his tired state. “Not really, why?” I shifted the way I was sitting so I could see Calum better, my legs crossing underneath my laptop. “Do you wanna come over for a few hours or something? I miss seeing you in person.” I smiled delicately. Calum and I had these “secret” meet ups where I’d come over when Ryder was either in bed or gone, and end up leaving before he was up or back. Calum was afraid that Ryder would think I was trying to be his new mommy, or afraid he wouldn’t like me for some unknown reason. I never pushed it once he told me no, though. I nodded my head.
“Yeah, I’ll be over in a few.” He smiled, a yawn erupting once again. “Alright, baby. Drive safe and I’ll see you when you get here.” I smiled back at the tired boy in front of me, my heart fluttering. “Okay, babe. I’ll see you soon.” We both said our goodbyes and ended the FaceTime call. I slipped out of bed, slipping on a pair of vans quickly along with my leggings and sweatshirt already on. I grabbed my phone and keys, heading out the door for the ten minute drive to Calum’s. Once I arrived to the tan house, I used the key he gave me a couple weeks ago to just let myself in. I quietly shut the door, heading down the hallway past Ryder’s closed bedroom door to Calum’s wide open door. I shut it quietly, him setting his phone down on his lap and smiling up at me.
“Hi, baby.” He said. I kicked my shoes off by his door, walking over to the shirt and sweatpants clad boy. I climbed onto his bed, wrapping my arms around his waist and breathing in his scent. “Hi,” I mumbled into his chest, his hands rubbing up and down my back. I brought my head up to kiss him, our lips gracefully colliding. It was soft and passionate, a weeks worth of kisses being pulled into one. “Missed you,” he mumbled into the kiss, his hands placing themselves on my hips.
He pulled my body onto his so I was straddling him, our lips gently brushing against each other. Nothing was too needy or too quick, it was just time spent calmly with each other. After a few minutes of just making out, I slipped off of him. “Baby, you need to sleep. You’re tired,” I laughed quietly, a yawn escaping his lips. “Just been a long day. ‘M fine.” He rolled on to his side, his arm falling over my lap. “I should get going, Cal.” I whispered, my fingers dragging gently through his hair. “No, stay please.” I pulled his hair back softly so he’d look at me. “You and I both know I can’t do that yet.” His arm wrapped tighter around my waist pulling me down. He shoved his chest into my back, entangling his legs within my own. He put his lips against my hair, humming in content. “‘S fine. Just stay.”
I sighed, knowing he wouldn’t let me out of this. “At least let me turn the light off for you,” I giggled. He nodded his head, letting go of me. I sat up and took my sweatshirt off, leaving my tank top, and walked over towards the light switch. I turned it off and found my way back to the bed with Calum, cuddling into his body and falling asleep quickly.
“Daddy?” I heard loudly. I shifted without opening my eyes, the sun being too bright through the window. From behind me I heard a noise as well. “Shh, Ry. She’s sleeping.” I felt the warmth leave me as Calum got up to tend to his son standing in the doorway. “Daddy who’s that? Is that your girlfriend?” I heard Calum chuckle quietly, “Yeah, yeah she is buddy. Is that okay?” I was wide awake at this point, keeping my eyes closed just to hear the secret conversation between father and son.
“Yeah. I like her drawings on her arms. They’re like yours, daddy.” “Yeah, she’s beautiful, huh?” I fought entirely not to smile, pretending to keep my self at peace. I heard footsteps start out the doorway, sad I couldn’t hear the conversation anymore. “Let’s go get you some breakfast, yeah? I’ll make whatever you want?” Was the last thing I heard.
I gave it a solid twenty minutes before I decided to get up. I caught the wafting smell of syrup from the kitchen and walked that way to find Calum cooking and Ryder sitting at the counter top eating a pancake. Oh, boy, did he look just like his father. Curly brown hair flying in all directions, deep set brown eyes constantly looking around and analyzing everything. Golden skin radiating, just like Calum’s.
“Morning, beautiful.” Calum smiled, setting the spatula down and walking over to me. He quickly pecked me on the lips, a smile taking over the both of us. He was beyond happier than usual, something I’d ask him about later. “Yeah! Morning, beautiful!” Ryder piped up. I couldn’t help but break the kiss from laughing. That was definitely Calum’s son. Calum chuckled loudly, something I haven’t quite seen before. “Buddy, this is Y/N. Y/N, this is Ryder.” I walked away from Calum towards the little boy sitting on the counter. “Daddy’s right! You are pretty!” He comments loudly, taking a big bite of his pancake. Once again, I’m stuck in a fit of giggles. “I can’t keep any secrets with you around, can I?” Calum comments, adding a pancake to the stack.
“So you’re my daddy’s girlfriend?” He asks intently. I nodded my head. “I am, if that’s okay with you?” He looked thoughtfully between Calum and I. “Will you take me to the zoo?” I looked at Calum, my eyebrows raised. “You got a negotiator over here. You drive a hard bargain, kid. I’ll tell you what, I’ll take you to the zoo AND get you a free milkshake. How ‘bout that?” Ryder instantly smiled, his head nodding vigorously. He took another bite of his pancake, his mouth full before yelling, “Daddy! Yes! Date her! Date her now! I like her!” Calum chuckled, walking over to the two of us.
He laced his hands around my waist, looking at his son. “Bud, she’s not gonna by you things and take you to places all the time, you know that right? I won’t let her.” Ryder looked between us thoughtfully again, the thought process of a four year old being a lot of work. “That’s okay, daddy. She makes you smile! We can all go to the zoo and get milkshakes! That way daddy won’t say no and doesn’t feel left out.”
I laughed at his logic, having to agree. Calum smiled between the two of us. “I guess.” Ryder happily jumped up onto his feet on the counter almost knocking off his plate, but doing a little happy victory dance. Calum grabbed him quickly and set him on the floor. “Go get cleaned up, you monster. We’ll go to the zoo later today.” Ryder happily cheered, running down the hall way with giggles. “I like him,” I giggled, facing the hallway. Calum’s arms wrapped around my waist from behind. “And I think I love you.” I turned around quickly. “Are you being serious?” I asked. He smirked, a nod being made.
“Calum Hood, I love you too.”

so don’t think about this at all but!!!
imagine going to a  doctor’s visit with Luke, and he’s so anxious because he knows you haven’t been sleeping well, and he just hopes it’s all okay, so when the doc comes in he squeeze your hand and pecks the shell of your ear and he’s clearly more anxious than you. “Luke relax,” you hum as the doc explains a new prescription to you, sighing as they watch your eyes shift to the floor. “Y/N, Luke, the prescription is only for a while until we can find a long term solution for this...” “insomnia” Luke finishes, stroking your heat softly. The doctor sighs, clearly not wanting to label it. “Listen. Mr & Mrs. Let’s not get to antsy” the doctor smiles, handing you the slip of paper. A blush rises as you register what he’d said, and it seems like Luke ‘s mood shifts. Your monthly check-up always ended with your doctor suggesting a medication for your sleeplessness, but you’d always brush them off (because Luke wasn’t there to object). Now that Luke was here, you felt like things were gonna be better; he was gonna make sure of it. As you’re picking up your purse & headed out the doctor looks up from his tablet that had his schedule on it and smiles, “congrats you two,” he mumbles and you pause, turning around entirely and staring at him. “that mandatory pregnancy test? it was positive. See your OB in a week” he grinned and before you can say aything Luke is scooping you up and swinging you around in his arms. “I’m gonna be a dada! I’m gonna be a real dada” he shouts, rushing you out of the office to the car, so he can cry in peace.

Chrissy's POV
"Chris!"
The blonde-haired teenager looked over, instantly smiling when she saw her friends.
"How is our beautiful best friend Chrissy Hemmings doing on this fine Friday afternoon?" Tucker sighed dramatically, coming to a stop with the other two in the group beside her locker.
"What do you guys want?" she rolled her eyes with a laugh as she grabbed her backpack from the hook and closed her locker door.
"Will you come to Marcie's party with us tonight?" Shannon asked.
"I don't know, Shan... I'd have to ask my dad when I get home..."
"So it's a no," her friends laughed simultaneously.
Chrissy could feel her cheeks get red with embarrassment. She chewed on her bottom lip for a moment before opening her mouth to speak again.
"I'll be there," she stated confidently.
"We all know your dad's gonna say no, Chrissy," Tucker shook his head, "He always does."
"I'll be there," she repeated. The three friends looked at the blonde for a moment before shrugging.
"Okay, Chris," Aubrey said, "We're all gonna meet at my house at 6 and then go to the party." Chrissy nodded, telling her friends she'd see them then before turning around and sprinting toward the back door of the school before she missed her bus.
~
Chrissy could feel her heart pounding in her throat as she walked in the front door of her house. She could hear her father talking on the phone – with his girlfriend, most likely – and she really didn't want to interrupt, but she knew that if she didn't ask now, she probably wouldn't at all.
She entered the kitchen to find her dad with his phone in one hand pressed to his ear, and a coffee cup in the other, periodically sipping as he looked out the window over the sink. He could hear footsteps, so he looked over, smiling at his daughter.
"Hey, I'm gonna call you back, okay?" Luke said, "Chris just got home."
"Hi, Chrissy!" the teenager could hear coming from the other end, making her laugh softly.
"Hi, Y/N!" she called back, loud enough for you to hear her.
"I'll talk to you later, Y/N," Luke laughed at the two of you, "Love you." She couldn't hear what you'd said, but it was clear you told him you loved him too – Luke always blushed when you told him you loved him no matter how many times you'd said it. "Hey, princess!" Luke beamed at his daughter, walking over to where she was and kissing her forehead, "How was school?"
"It was school," she shrugged, "Didn't really do anything because it's Friday or whatever."
"Hmm," he hummed with a nod, taking another sip of coffee, "Wish it was like that when I was in school."
"Dad," Chrissy groaned, "Not again."
"Sorry," he laughed, "But then again, I didn't have you when I was in school either, so I guess you win some and lose some." She rolled her eyes, only causing him to chuckle again.
"Uh... Speaking of school..." Chrissy cleared her throat lightly, "Aubrey, Shan, and Tucker are going to a friend's party tonight..." She looked at her dad's facial expression to gauge his reaction, but she wasn't getting anything different. "And they asked if I would go with them..." she went on. Luke took in a deep breath, moving away from her and back into the kitchen.
"You know how I feel about parties, Chrissy," he shook his head, opening the trashcan and tossing hiss empty cup into it.
"That doesn't mean that's how I feel about parties..." she mumbled.
"You're 17-years-old; You don't need to be-"
"So why can't you just let me be a normal one?!" she exclaimed.
"Normal 17-year-olds aren't going to parties every weekend," he cocked an eyebrow at her, surprised by the sudden change in her attitude.
"How is this any different from letting me stay the weekend at Shan's place when there were other people there?!"
"Her parents were home," Luke reminded her, "And they have enough sense not to give their children access to the liquor cabinet."
"How do you know there's going to be alcohol there?" she rolled her eyes, "It's not like you were ever cool enough to get invited to parties."
"You're not going, Chrissy," Luke stated firmly, "That's final."
"God! I hate you!" Chrissy shouted as she spun around and stomped up the stairs, not even noticing the sigh of defeat her dad let out.
~
Your POV; 11pm
"Please tell me you've heard from Chrissy," your boyfriend said the moment you answered his phone call.
"Was I supposed to?" you asked, not really answering his question as you put the call on speaker since you knew exactly where his daughter was.
Chrissy had shown up at your front door only ten minutes before Luke's frantic call, begging you not to call him like you'd originally wanted to. You obviously asked her why she didn't want her dad to know she was there, but she'd only told you she'd gotten into a fight with him after she got home from school. What she'd been doing in between then and the point she arrived at your place, you didn't know – all you knew was that Luke would have to notice she was gone eventually. And now was apparently that time.
"God, I should have checked on her sooner," Luke continued to grumble to himself, and you could just tell he was pulling roughly on his hair, "I should have checked on her when she didn't come down for dinner, and when I hadn't heard anything for six hours, and-"
"Luke," you interrupted his panicked monologue, "Baby, I need you to breathe for me, okay?" You listened to him breathe in shakily and let out a deep breath, doing the same thing a couple more times. It was silent for a moment before Luke spoke again.
"I'm a terrible father," he murmured, more to himself than to you.
"Lu-"
"She said she hates me, Y/N!" he exclaimed, his voice breaking, "She wouldn't hate me if I was a good father!"
"You're right," you shrugged despite the fact that he couldn't see you. You could still tell that his hand dropped from his hair and only his lap as he furrowed his eyebrows in confusion though.
"Y/N, what... How could you... You can't just... How dare you-"
"No, I mean, you're right, you know?" you replied, "You were there the day she was born and the day her mom left. You spent countless nights without sleep just trying to get her to stop crying for five minutes. You fed her and clothed her and kept a roof over her head and taught her how to do everything she knows. Her first word was even 'Daddy'. I can totally understand why she hates you; You're the worst dad ever." Luke was silent for a moment before you heard him breathe out sharply.
"I hate when you use reverse psychology on me," he grumbled, making you smile.
"You feel better now though, don't you?" you questioned.
He let out a small chuckle as he whispered, "Yeah. Thank you."
"I'll come by tomorrow, okay?"
"Yes, please," he acknowledged, "If you hear from Chris, please tell her to come home."
"Please at least try to get some sleep tonight," you said with a reassuring tone, "Bye, Lu."
"Y/N..." he said, making you stop, "I... I love you..."
"I love you, Luke," you promised before you both hung up.
After putting your phone down on the couch beside you, you looked over at the 17-year-old sitting on the adjacent one. She was looking down at her hands, but you could tell she was holding back tears.
"You have anything to say?" you asked her, crossing your arms over your stomach. It was silent for another few seconds before she spoke.
"Do I have to go back tonight?" she asked, clearly trying to maintain the façade that she was upset with her dad.
"No," you shook your head, making her look up at you in surprise that you weren't forcing her out to your car, "But you are going to think about what you wanna say to your dad when I take you back first thing in the morning."
Not giving her a chance to protest, you got up from your seat, made sure the front door was locked, and disappeared into the hallway to your bedroom, leaving Chrissy alone in silence.
~
Chrissy's POV; The next morning
As promised, the moment Chrissy woke up at 11, you were having her get her things to go back home. The car ride was silent – Chrissy clearly didn't want to talk and you had already made your point the previous night, so you didn't say anything either. Upon pulling up to the curb in front of her house, you looked over at her as she was pulling her keys out of her bag.
"I'll be back in an hour to make sure your dad didn't kill you," you told her. Chrissy didn't respond with a smile or a laugh or even a breath out of her nose – she just opened the door and walked up the lawn, listening to you drive away.
The 17-year-old stood at the door for a moment before finally shoving her key in the lock and going inside. The moment he heard the key turning, Luke's head snapped up, watching his daughter walk through the door from his seat on the living room couch.
"Chrissy," he breathed, making her look up, forcing her to take in just how worried he'd been.
"Dad..." she said softly, chewing on her inner cheek, "You're not a bad father..." Luke looked confused for a moment before his eyes widened slightly, suddenly realizing what she was referring to.
"How do you know about that?" he asked her. Chrissy swallowed thickly, taking in a breath before attempting to speak.
"Y/N had you on speaker..." she told him, her voice as small as she felt in that moment. He let out a sudden breath.
"I should have known you went to her place," he mumbled to himself.
"I don't-" Chrissy looked down at her feet when her voice cracked, feeling herself starting to cry and not wanting him to see it, "I don't hate you..." Luke instantly got up from his seat, hurrying to his daughter. He put his hands on her cheeks and lifted her face up, barely smiling at her.
"I know," he assured her, wiping away her tears.
"No, you don't!" she shook her head, hiccupping softly as the tears kept coming, "You called Y/N and told her you thought you were a terrible father because of what I said! You think you're a terrible dad because of me! If you think you're a bad dad, you're gonna leave! I already don't have a mom! I don't wanna not have a dad too!"
"Not having your mother around is not your fault, Chris," Luke stated firmly so she knew he was being serious – of course, that didn't mean she wasn't going to argue about it.
"She didn't want me!" Chrissy shook her head, "She wouldn't have left if I was good enough!"
"Your biological mother was not fit to raise a child," he told her, "And you and I can spend an entire day some other time where we only talk about why she left and whatever, but right now, we're gonna talk about someone we do have that nobody else does."
"Who?" she furrowed her eyebrows, unsure of what he meant.
"We have a(n) Y/N," Luke said with a small smile, "And do you think anyone else would have let you stay with them all night without telling me you were with them just because you didn't want me to know? Do you think Grandma would have done that?"
Chrissy sighed lightly, "No..."
"Chris, I've raised you on my own for 17 years," he continued, "And there have always been nights where I've asked myself whether or not I've been doing the right things when it came to you. And yeah, I can loosen up a bit when it comes to letting you go to parties because I trust you and I trust myself enough to let you make those decisions on your own-" He brought her in for another kiss to the forehead, only to push her back and give her a stern look. "-but if you ever run away again, I'm warning you right now: I will bury you in the backyard beside the cat."
Chrissy simply sighed, "At least it's better than flushing me down the toilet like my fish." Luke couldn't help but laugh, wrapping his arms around her shoulders and hugging her tightly.
"I love you, Chris," he murmured into her hair.
"I love you too, Dad," she whispered, finally allowing herself to smile as she hugged his waist just as tightly.
~
An hour later, there was a knock at the front door. Chrissy hopped up from the couch to answer it, not at all surprised to find you on the other side.
"Oh, thank God, you're still alive," you said dramatically as soon as you saw the teen, "Where's your dad?" She laughed as she rolled her eyes, moving out of the way so you could come in.
"Hi, Y/N," she said, "He's making lunch."
Luke, having heard your voice, was already making his way out of the kitchen. You were only about halfway to the entrance when he came into the room, but before you could greet him, his hands were on your face and he was holding you firmly.
"Don't you ever not tell me when she's with you again," Luke mumbled as your own hands moved up to hold his wrists.
"Hmm," you hummed with a small grin, "Haven't listened to you for the last 3 years; Not about to start now, Hemmings." He finally smiled, pulling you in for a kiss.
And as Chrissy watched you and her dad from where she was still standing by the front door, it got her thinking...
Maybe she did have a mom after all.
