I have been having So Many Clemont challenges Kyler to a duel thoughts

Me: I honestly think how Kyler reacts will largely be based on where and how the challenge is issued: is Cherry also present? Does she react? But barring these factors I can honestly see him accepting as easily as I can see him declining

Accepting bc duels are always about ego and honor, and if he’s to earn even a sliver of Clemont’s respect then he has to play the game and rise to the challenge, as a man of Ishgard would.

Refusing because this is Cherry’s /brother/, his future brother-in-law, and if he raised a hand to him how could Cherry ever look at him the same again?
