Max is the Devil, keeping all of the nerds in line. It's willed into existence and enforced by peer pressure - Red Eyes/Red Glow are a substitute for loose chains from the original card.

thinking about taisho era jade born into a merchant family and he's schemey and sly as usual but really he just loves purchasing strange flora and fungi from the west. and then he meets you, an orphan who makes a living by selling flowers that you grow by yourself, not knowing how difficult it actually for other people to grow said plants because you were born with an insane green thumb and so all plants thrive under your care hehehe. he's so intrigued by you he basically hires you as his greenhouse assistant and loves spoiling you with new flora and eventually accessories that remind him of your plants (giving someone a hairpiece = marriage proposal)

he's supposed to be marrying someone with a stronger family backing so he can increase his business relations but nope. he's dead set on marrying the person who made his heart bloom♡

I just read "both the prison and the open hand (bells on low, on high)" by ariaste on ao3 and I definitely didn't do the scene justice but the idea of modernau!JGY thinking wistfully of his ridiculous hat made me laugh too much not to desperately try to scribble out the scene

I’m not late to send my New Year cards for once! And Poldine gets to be all by herself because unlike Pyrgus she didn’t get a birth announcement card, so it seemed fair. I started out writing “Poldine wishes you a happy new year” but then realised the shrub was more centered in the photo and more important-looking so the rest of the cards featured a happy new year message from Poldine & The Shrub.

#i know the deadline is the 31st but i wanted to post them in the first week of january for a change. it's 11pm and i am done!! i did it! #everyone got a personalised drawing this year to fill the blank spaces on the card and they were all terrible #except one of my cousins who got a squirrel. i'm good at squirrels #i can draw pandolf (sort of) but llamas are so hard #i had to add a santa hat on pampy's head because i had drawn her ears all wrong #also a friend sent me an assortment of sweets for christmas and i tried to draw my favourite sweet from the box on her card #i failed this very simple assignment and had to add a caption saying it was a nice rock i found in the woods this week
