Non Shrike AU content yet again but idea where Danny takes on being a superhero more or less out of Amity Park once he's slightly older. Danny continues to go by Phantom. He's a sudden unknown with a rogue gallery who seems to follow him no matter how quickly he travels from city to city. The destruction that follows him is hard to notice and as a result the Justice League attempts to intervene but it's leaving them questioning who exactly this new hero (or foe) is. He is able to go toe to toe with some of the veteran League members until he usually realizes he can't exactly win against them (experience vs. raw power doesn't always work in his favor) and runs away. The League is trying to get a grasp on his powers and abilities and in the end, since he doesn't seem fond of actually interacting with the League, Danny is deemed a threat. It's especially concerning when some members spy him lingering on the edges of Earth's atmosphere star gazing.

Danny views the situation differently, he's trying to contain ghosts appearing from an influx of natural ghost portals throughout the country while juggling being a freshman in university. His goal is get them under controlled as quick as possible, no time for banter, no time to interact with the local heros. He has a job to do. However when the Justice League starts coming after him he believes they realize he's a ghost/part ghost and trying to detain him under the ecto acts. He's terrified and views them as a threat so of course he's going to fight them if they try to get to close.

Danny is eventually captured by Superman after a rogue battle in Metropolis that was extremely difficult so having Superman come in directly after was a losing battle from the start. He's taken to the Watch Tower and given cuffs and a collar that blocks/dampens meta abilities and it manages to actually work on Danny. He refuses to cooperate with any members who try to question him since it's pointless to fight against them now that he's captured. Danny views himself steps away from being fully dead as he believes the Justice League will hand him over to the Men in White once they're finished with him.

A castle mysteriously appears in Gotham one night.

Nobody who noticed it knows where it came from, nor how it got there as it seemingly appeared overnight. It wasn't anything big, as far as castle's were concerned, it seemed to be on the smaller side of things.

However, no one could truly estimate it's actual size. For there seemed to be an ever-present fog that never seemed to stray past the castle's gates.

Just like the fog, you always seemed to hear the cawing of crows and the flapping of bats whenever you step close enough. Yet their visibility was kept hidden in the fog.

Appearances aside, there did seem to be something... off, about the castle and not just because it appeared from thin air, no. It seemed to have a distinct aura of something... other.

No one knew how to explain it, but they could tell there was nothing natural about it. There was something fundamentally wrong with the castle, it wasn't the way it appeared out of nowhere, nor it's appearance.

When Sam finally became an adult, she didn't have to think twice about moving out. It was a bit difficult, with her parents not wanting to let her go just yet, but her grandmother managed to persuade them, thankfully.

When she was younger, Sam had always dreamed of owning a castle. Though its appearance did change in her mind when she grew older, from pretty and pink to one of darker colors and crows, which is why she never got one when she was younger, she realized.

But now that she was an adult, what was stopping her?

Nothing, that's what.

So, Sam buys one that matches her tastes and moves in. There was a lot of space, far more than she really ever thought about and now had to find a use for.

Magic.

Was something that enthralled Sam ever since she was young, that and the occult as a whole. So, for a few months after moving did she try and get her hands on things like magical tomes, items, scripts and learn it.

Surprisingly, she was strongly successful in her attempts of learning magic. It was surprising to be sure, but now that she compares it to the portal to the afterlife, having a half dead friend and having hunted down ghosts, she realizes that magic wouldn't be that much farfetched in the equation.

A fair bit of her time now was spent covering her castle in wards, sigils, and runes, ones that would strengthen themselves over time, various protection wards and multiple others that she found useful. Most of them were ones that she found through text, though others were ones she personally made.

After she finished the entirety of the castle, she studied thoroughly to gain more knowledge and power for herself, she even made a few spells of her own along with various potions. Unfortunately, she was interrupted in her studies by various other witches, because apparently having such a powerful fledgling witch on her lonesome was too tempting of an offer to pass up for the nearby covens.

So she had to... move, before they tried to force her to join them. As for how, well, she moved her entire castle! What better way to refuse, really?

Unfortunately, it was her first time using such large-scale teleportation magic and she messed it up. Not that her calculations on where the castle was supposed to be were wrong, but while in the midst of moving through space she was... thrown off kilter.

She didn't even know how or what caused her to mess up. But her castle both was and wasn't where she wanted it to be. Her original destination was coordinates near Amity Park, and while they were on said coordinates.

This wasn't Amity Park.

To say she worried was an understatement. She scrambled to find something about where she ended up, and realized not only was she thrown off kilter, but she was also thrown off so badly that she ended up in an entirely different dimension. Luckily, she managed to make the philosopher's stone.

To say making it was easy would be wrong, for even she didn't know how she created it. It was by accident and for a while she didn't even know she had made it, when she had and tried to do something with it the stone had, uh, well.

It fused into her skin.

It had placed itself right over her face, on her chest, and it granted her immortality it seemed. Though that wasn't the effect she was currently thankful for no, the effect of making gold would be valuable to her, she wouldn't have the Manson wealth, but she could at the very least sustain herself.

For now, though, she did have her studies to get back to.

Their combined words echoed across the cave far longer in the silence that followed their words than it felt like it should have. It was difficult to tell if any of the other bats and birds were even breathing.

A frown marred Damian’s face, despite having said the same harsh words as his twin. Danny saying the very same words left a sort of bitter taste in his mouth. It wasn’t even the words themselves but more the resignation and dismissal of his own worth that ate at Damian’s gut. Someone stabbing him would have hurt less than Danny’s next words.

“You don’t need someone like me. I’m not motivated enough and all that to be like you guys. I’d just get in the way.”

Dick, ever the one to try to find compromise, spoke up. “There’s more ways to help than just fighting…”

“Listen,” Danny interrupted, “it’s not like I’m dumb but I’m not a genius like you all. I suck at strategy and sitting around on my hands, the only thing I’m really good at is being cannon fodder or a distraction. I’m not competitive or ambitious and I’m certainly not about to start trying to be any of that. That ship has sailed and sunk.”

“Danny, I-“

“It’s fine Damian.” His bitter smile contradicted the words. “It’s important to know one’s own strengths and weaknesses, right?”

Holy cow there’re a lot and I really do mean A LOT of Welcome Home AUs, and more coming too. Not saying it’s a bad thing, but it makes sense considering WH doesn’t have a lot to work with so it leaves tons of room for fans to play around with. Danny's first appearance as Phantom to the wider public over in Central City where he gets control over Ember. At first it was assumed he was a Super but that was quickly disregarded simply by the lack of association/symbol identifier and power set. Like how wild would it be to have some random villain no one has seen before wreck half the city with no way to stop them and a new hero come in and easily stop her when some of the top heroes couldn't.

Here is also Flash freaking because of a new hero as he was the first hero to actually see/interact with Phantom.

Also I still have no idea what to call this au so it's still going to be non shrike au till I figure it out, but thank you aus because that means slightly different designs and headcanons to incorporate! This AU takes place when the trio is all in college, nearing the end of their studies. Danny is majoring in Physics with duel minors in inorganic chemistry and maths over at Central City University. He's mostly living on his own without much help other than from Sam. Between breaks or semesters, Danny interns over at S.T.A.R. labs. Also because I can, Danny has faint lichtenberg scars on one side of his body that are now pretty hard to notice. He loses most of the playfulness with his fights as he gets older because he has things to do and the whole hero thing is just kinda a side gig at this point.

Even though they're apart, Sam, Tucker, and Danny all remain close. Sam ends up going to a different university, Gotham University specifically to study animal sciences. She works with wildlife rehabilitation centers or animal rescues throughout the town and donates to them. Tucker ends up at Star City University studying engineering with a minor in history, taking up a part time job to help manage the uni's computer labs.

MLP G4 S9 rewrite (kinda)

I honestly thought the whole Grogar fake-out was kinda dumb, especially since they did my boi discord dirty. So in my rewrite of season 9, Grogar actually returns.

In the rewrite, cozy glow isn't imprisoned, and is sent to a more juvenile friendship detention, where she is more closely watched.

While in the library of the place, she finds the book of Gusty the Great and her friend Starswirl the Bearded. She takes notice of the part in the story where Gusty steals the Bewitching bell away from Grogar, and hides it on a mountain. Cozy, now interested in the artifact, plans to sneak out that night and make the journey to the mountain.

On her way there, she stumbled into Chrysalis, who was preoccupied with commanding her army of tree stumps. Chrysalis, after finding out about the bell, takes off towards the mountain as well to find it.

Once both Cozy and Chrysalis arrive, they realize that the bell is in fact there. It's just attached on a necklace, to Gusty herself, who is frozen in place, sealed away as a statue. Chrysalis has just enough magic to break the spell, and frees Gusty, hoping that she can just take the bell away, only to realize that Gusty refuses to give it up.

Cozy questions Gusty and finds out Gusty did not in fact destroy Grogar like the stories said, but sealed his soul inside of the bell itself. Yes, Gusty did steal the bell, but instead of hiding the bell away, decided to hold onto it at all times for safekeeping. Unbeknownst to her, the bell was cursed. Over time, the bell slowly corrupted her, making her magic as strong as Grogar's. The ponies in her kingdom were terrified of her, and shunned her, driving her out. Gusty wasn't in her right mind, and cast a curse on the kingdom, creating the windigos.

Starswirl, her friend, turned on her, chasing her down to the cave they were in right now, and sealed her in stone. Gusty, unaware of what has happened the last few thousands of years, is tricked by Chrysalis and Cozy glow that Starswirl and Twilight sparkle were the bad guys. Gusty, now on the side of Chrysalis and Cozy glow, decides to help by freeing the soul of Grogar, commanding him to assist them.

During the final battle, all of the ponies and their allies now fight Grogar, who after a while, regains his full strength, breaking free of Gusty's control. Grogar is defeated eventually, and resealed by Gusty, who now realizes she was in the wrong. Still wary of Starswirl after all this time, she decides to leave Equestria and wander the world, as the Bell's curse grants her immortality

( this is just a summarization of the events, I don't have everything exactly planned out, this is just me over explaining my ideas)

Time to find out why, who, what, where, when, and how exactly. More importantly, will there be NSFW?!!

1) When is the story taking place?

It is taking place well into the adventures of the Chain. However, it is a non-linear story, so you "think" back to the times when you first met them. Most stories take place after the Twilight's near death arc. Basically you have been there with them. This is an AU of course.

2) When did you join them?

You first spent around two years with Link & Zelda in the post-calamity Hyrule, before being thrown in with the chain.

3) How did you speak with Link and Zelda?

You couldn't. You learnt their language later, it was a process. They took you to the four Great Fairies, and also used a drop of Triforce of Wisdom (via the fairy help) to enhance your learning and to make you more understandable to the others ASAP. This had however some long lasting, not so positive consequences. We'll dive into them in the "Wobble of the Head" arc. (coming soon)

4) Do you have an accent?

Hylian has dialects, so yes. You do have an accent, but it only appeared after you met the Chain, for obvious reasons. *Coughs* No spoilers, sorry.

5) How do the Links talk with each other?

Language change is a very very slow process, even in our world. Things like immigration, wars and other conflicts make it faster but even then it's very slow in most cases. World of TLoZ did have its fair share of conflicts, but mostly it was within the same cultures, so language didn't warp there to a point of becoming unrecognizable for most Links. Sure, some are harder for others to understand due to distance, accents, dialects and some vocabulary, but they can communicate mostly just fine after a while.

Wild however is from a very far era (we are talking about 10k+ plus years), so he struggles the most.

I can make a separate post about it to answer more detailed questions (e.g. language dynamics between Links), just let me know!

6) What do the Links think about your height and ears?

You are in your mid/late twenties and so are most of the Links (reminder that this is an AU). Some of them were surprised, but some already have people in their worlds with rounded ears. They don't think that much about you being taller, they are used to being shorties, as they are in most cases shorter than the average Hylian anyway.

7) What is your relationship status with Wild and Flora?

It's complicated. You never had time to talk about it since you were always hopping through worlds, facing life & death situations. All three are into each other, you did share each other, and you definitely have space in your heart for more. But that's a difficult conversation.

For now, Wild is there for you and you for him. He also notices Twilight's subtle advances and it is difficult to gauge what he feels. We shall explore those in the story, dear reader!

8) Do Links know that you know them from the games?

Nope. That's gonna be a conversation as well. For now, they know you have been a researcher in Wild's world and that you also come from another. But sometimes you hit a spot too that's too personal. You tried to explain but they didn't get it and you didn't push back. It will be a shitshow when they find out exactly what you mean with "interactive stories". Wild won't be happy for sure.

The problem with you (and your flaw for that matter), you are a blabber mouth. Let's be honest, how can you keep all that info to yourself? This sometimes causes conflicts and issues within the group. There is a reason why Legend nicknamed you "trivia bitch" at some point.

9) Will there be NSFW?

Indeed. But I shall keep it optional (at least the more explicit stuff). No Linkcest though.
