Let it be known I did NOT make Valin with love when I was creating a Warlock for myself. I'd made it to the Farm twice with two other attempted Warlocks but the vibes were off, so I decided to try a new beast entirely and made a Valin. He was originally going to have black hair and patternations but I found it too boring...

The red was garish and I wasn't too sure I liked what I had made but I decided to commit to that horrible beast and he has since grown on me like a fungus.

#When I went back to Destiny 1 I discovered I'd actually had a proto-Valin in the Warlock slot the entire time. #He had the more delicate male face and slightly different hair and patterns (and mint-green eyes) but it was very much Valinesque. #I wonder if I was compelled to make Valin in such a way because I subconsciously remembered this proto-Valin. #I have no memory of making that one and evidently I didn't get very far with him. #When I went back to replay Destiny 1 properly I decided I wanted to learn how to play as a Warlock. #Thus deleting the D1 proto-Valin and replacing him with Valin. #Season of the Worthy being as... as it was. Was essential to my consideration of Valin as a character. #And I'd learned to play as a Warlock... #It is funny. I have actually mained all three classes over time... #The first time I played Destiny on my old account (which became my mother's instead) was as a Titan. #Then when I got my own account I made a Hunter and played that way for years and years. #Up until 2020 when I had enough time to play Season of the Worthy across all three classes and discovered I was very fond of my beast... #But I was not familiar with a Warlock properly... #It was nice to replay Destiny 1. I really really enjoyed that experience. #Anyway. Now I am a Warlock main... #Whenever I open the menu I have to select the third character because I made Valin last... #But I don't think I would rearrange that order if I had a choice. #My skills as a Hunter have completely degraded by the way... Despite the assertion that Valin "came back wrong", arguably this kind of shift had occurred when the Human Jin Seojun was transformed and thus became Vale Se.

Vale Se was not necessarily callous, but he was a far more unpleasant creature than either his predecessor or successor-self. It is hard to imagine, that there is a crueller form of Valin of Sao. Valin, whose glare sunders lesser beings. Valin, whose veins are gladly putrefied by Darkness. Valin, who serves [hatred].

The obsession Valin has with obeying a terrible nature, it does not come from the same place as it did for Vale Se, but they share that propensity for the Deep.

Vale Se saw a future beyond the cage that came to be defined as the Distributary, his loyalty to his Queen defined by that horizon. He cut into that small universe wherever he saw weakness, frustrated by its limitations.

Though his death was lamented, it was thought for the best that he did not live to encounter the Ahamkara. His propensity for mind games would have been useful, however. Certainly, he could have deceived one into foolishly devouring itself with its own wish...

"Why mourn him? We have a thousand of him wherever we look," Uldren had said, once. It was out of turn, but the sentiment was not at all misplaced.

The statue made in his memory is enshrined with Ahamkara bones, though they'll not bargain with just... anyone. To whom do they raise their many voices, longing to be overheard?

👪 FAMILY - what is their family like? what is your ocs relationship to them? does your oc have any siblings?

Valin: The father of Shaerian and Derian. He’s an impassive man, making sure no one can tell what he truly feels, but he loves his family more than anything. He’d do anything for his children. Shaerian, for their part, have always been close to their father but Derian has always been somewhat closer with him.

Eldyra: The step-mother of Shaerian and Derian. She’s a gentle woman, but her background of being a great general within the elven army lets everyone know that she’s not one to be messed with. She cares greatly for her step-children and always makes sure they have everything they could ever need. Shaerian is much closer to her than their father.

Derian: The older brother of Shaerian. He’s always been protective over his younger sibling, and has never wavered from their side or his duty in protecting them. He cares for them a great deal; he may be an ass at times but he protects anyone he cares for no matter what. Shaerian and Derian have always shared a close bond.

🤥 LYING - are they good liars? do they have tells to show they're lying?

Shaerian can be a very good liar. They just hate doing so. Even when their in diplomatic meetings, they hate lying. At least that’s how they felt before you were taken from them. Now lying allows them to get closer to their goal.

They don’t have any tells really.
