I like these old stone homes like this 1900 gem in De Pere, Wisconsin. It's been renovated and updated, still has original features, but also has some strange ones, too, and it already has an active offer. 4bds, 2.5ba, $574,900.
So, let's see what we have here. I love dissecting and trying to piece reno'd homes together. It seems clear that the entrance hall was expanded, walls were removed, and the whole staircase was redone.
It looks like the walls also got new wallboard, molding, and paint; the ceilings got can lights; I'm not sure about the floors, and the fireplace is definitely new.
Walls have come down- that looks like a support beam on the ceiling. They made an open plan between the dining/living room and you can see where the wall was by the dividing piece in the floor on the right.
This is a side or rear entrance that was reconfigured and leads into the kitchen.
Kinda like the stair effects. This may have been an outside entrance b/c of the original exterior stone.
There is a powder room down here, too.
Check it out. This is an addition, b/c that's the original exterior wall.
The large new kitchen addition. Not terribly fond of the pickled wood finish they chose for the cabinetry.
The primary bedroom could've been the original kitchen b/c bedrooms don't usually have an outside door to the porch.
There's a newly constructed en-suite with a huge walk-in shower.
New screened-in deck on the back.
The upstairs landing is very large. They put some similar stone (or faux stone) on the perfect wall to try to make it look old.
Barn doors open to reveal a home office. I don't know what this was, but there are no windows.
Of these bedrooms, this larger one must've been the original primary.
The bath features a vintage reproduction tub and a modern stone shower.
The tub is just a tiny slipper tub.
Nice big mud room in the back.
I love this barn.
It would make a nice guest house or studio.
Here, you can see the new addition. The property measures 2.68 acres.

Old Stone House, Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania

Perfectly situated at the crossroads of the Pittsburgh-Franklin and Butler Mercer Pikes, it was the perfect location as a…
