sypnosis : james will never see what is right in front of him.
james potter x female!reader
you and james had been friends for six years, a long six years at that. you were always the person james had went to when he had any problems.
you didn't mind because you loved james even if he only felt it platonically.
everyone knew you loved james except for him.
you would do anything if it guaranteed james's happiness.
and you could tell that he would do the same for you.
he knew that you liked him when you had confessed last year but he told you he couldn't and he liked you too but lily stood in the way.
it hurt but you understood and he promised you that if he ever got over lily, the only person he would ever love would be you.
and you took that to heart.
recently, you were starting to feel that james had felt the same way. he stopped pining over lily evans a months ago and started focusing more on the both of you by calling you 'beautiful' and 'the prettiest thing.'
this was finally your year.
your year to finally ask james out.
it was a week before the yule ball and you had heard a tip that james was planning a grand surprise to ask someone special. your heart fluttered, thinking about all the ways james would ask you.
supposedly, it was going to happen today and you just couldn't wait.
you had told your cousin charlotte and your friend group everything, practically beaming in the knowing that james potter was going to ask you.
who else would james ask instead of you?
you were going to ask remus but you knew he was probably sworn to secrecy and he did have knowledge of your feelings so you knew he would tell you if it wad anyone else.
so when you went inside the common room to see a golden snitch flying over to you, you knew that james had exactly planned this.
except it didn't fly over to you.
it flew behind you.
you looked back to see your cousin, holding the snitch in her hand. she looked at you with wide eyes to see james come out of his hiding a bunch of people cheering.
"charlotte, will you go to the yule ball with me?" he asked with a smile.
charlotte looked at you then at james and with a simple movement said, "of course." the entire crowd cheered and james hugged charlotte in excitement.
you completely froze, not processing what had just happened.
james looked at you, "oh my god y/n, i'm sorry i didn't tell you. i just wanted to keep it a huge secret." he laughed, acting as if he didn't remember the things he had said in the previous year.
in that moment, you couldn't even smile or pretend to be happy for him.
"uh y/n." he waved his hand in front of your face.
a tear rained down your cheek as you looked at him with glossy eyes, "good for you james." you shoved past him.
you walked faster in the hallways as james had caught your arm, "y/n, what's wrong?" you could see the rest of the marauders and charlotte come out of the common room.
"are you fucking kidding me?" you asked, yanking your arm away, "i mean you can not be this fucking stupid james."
he looked at you, "i know what i said last you but things change and i didn't want to upset you, i just don't understand why you aren't happy for us."
"of course you wouldn't, you never do!" you yelled, laughing manically, "i have spent three years doing whatever you had asked, being there for you all the time. i waited years for you to get over lily evans, breaking my heart in the process and you ask my cousin to the yule ball after you told me last year that you would only love me." you cried.
"i know but-" he started.
"don't give me some bullshit excuse james, i don't even care to hear it." you snapped as he frowned.
"y/n." charlotte called.
"and you, why would you even say yes? you know how i feel about him and you had the audacity to say yes." you looked at her in anger.
she frowned, "y/n, i love him too."
you felt as if you were going to kill her, "are you serious?" you scoffed.
"i always wanted to tell you but you never gave me the chance and i can't control my feelings, i never wanted to hurt you." she explained, "don't blame him, i never let him tell you."
"tell me what?" you grew red.
she looked down in shame as james looked at her as if she was going to do something that would destroy the earth.
"tell me fucking what charlotte?" you asked again, inching towards her.
"that we are together." charlotte whispered.
you looked at her as if you had no idea who she was. the amount of hurt you felt was unreachable, you could feel yourself slipping.
"did all of you know?" you looked at the rest of the marauders as well as lily, marlene, mary, and dorcas. they all looked angry at charlotte and james for the entire situation but couldn't say that they didn't know.
"honestly fuck all of you." you cried, "all of you can fuck off of my life indefinitely." you looked at them all then at james, "and just so you know, any signs of friendship we had is now over, i hope you both fucking rot." you spat, storming off.
you stormed over to the abandoned bathroom, hiding in one of the stalls.
you started to cry hard as every feeling came rushing in faster than you could focus.
in that moment, you wished you had never met james potter.

Where: The White Wyvern

James had told him of Peter’s bravery, going against the side he’d chosen over them and rescuing Lily, bringing her back safely. Why would he do that if she and the rest of them were nothing to him? Maybe there was something left of his old friend after all. The betrayal had hurt him and left him questioning everything, wondering how he hadn’t seen it, wondering if any of their friendship had been real. But he looked back at what they had all done for him, comforting him and accepting him for what he was, risking themselves around him and later becoming illegal animagi for him… Peter was part of that. That goodness had to be inside there still, maybe it just got lost in the darkness. Dumbledore had asked too much of him, just as he had of himself and he was starting to question whether the old man had any regard for them at all or only saw them as chess pieces.
It was how he found himself at the White Wyvern now having heard this was where he worked and the only lead he had to track him down. He fidgeted with his crescent moon necklace for a moment looking up at the sign outside, taking a deep breath before walking inside. He looked around the place that was mostly empty and he wasn’t sure if that was usual or not for early evening, but he bypassed all the tables moving toward the bar. No one was behind it for a moment so he pulled up a stool and took a seat prepared to wait it out. Turns out he didn’t have to wait long as he heard movement in what he assumed was a store room before a familiar head appeared. He licked his lips nervously not sure what to say, how to start now that he was here. “Peter,” he said simply his voice low.

"Hey, I'm Mary MacDonald and I play Charlie in our upcoming series called 'Hunters of our Destiny and we're reading our Thirst Tweets today," the actors introduce themselves.
"The trailer came out a week ago and in that time the internet has gone crazy, I'm very excited to see what BuzzFeed has picked out for tweets," says Peter and pulls the first piece of paper out of the bowl.
Tensely, Mary reaches for another note. "I would let Mary MacDonald step on me, spit on me and walk over me and I'd thank her. And Mary, if you ever need a chair, I'm free. Please sit on my face." Shocked, Lily holds her hands in front of her face and Sirius nearly falls off his chair laughing. "Move on quickly," Remus says, before Sirius really does fall off his chair.
"My bussy belongs to James Potter. What's a bussy?" Laughing, Sirius gets up and goes to James. "Oh poor Jamie," Peter says sympathetically. A knowing "Oh," comes from James, since Sirius whispered it in his ear. "Kids, don't say things like that on the internet," James instructs the camera.
Mary pulls out the next note. "I would sell my entire Family for just one kiss from Peter Pettigrew," she reads out. "I agree," Lily says, reaching for Peter's hand. "Kisses from me don't come cheap," Peter counters immediately and gives Lily a warm smile.
"Okay, not many notes left," Sirius tells him, pulling one out. "Can we please talk about how gorgeous Remus Lupin is for a sec? This man is so beautiful." Nodding in agreement, he looks deep into Remus' eyes. "Did you write that?" asks Peter with a laugh. "Could really be coming from me, exactly what I've been telling you all along, Moony."

Harry Potter TV series dream cast
So here is my dream cast for the new Harry Potter series. As much as I don't support JK Rowling, and I think it's too soon to remake the original movies, I am a little excited to see who gets cast in these Iconic roles. I won't be suggesting for the child roles, purely because I don't know many actors who are young enough, however I'd love an actor of colour to take on Harry or Hermione and I hope Ron remains ginger. Also, many of these characters don't appear until later on in the series but I'm mostly just amusing myself.
So, first of all. Remus Lupin. I actually saw another article suggesting this same actor as a Quirrell but for me he would be a perfect Remus, I loved him in Heartstopper and he seems so gentle and paternal.
Fisayo Akinade - Remus Lupin
Secondly, I was thinking about Hagrid. And only one person came to mind for this role, I think they'd kill it. And I'd love to see Welsh Hagrid.
Ruth Jones - Rubeus Hagrid
Okay, so maybe I don't seriously think Ruth should or will be cast. But honestly she would be iconic.
Next is Peter Pettigew. Now arguably this actor is too young but I think he'd be perfect in this role.
Colson Smith - Peter Pettigrew
Julie Walters was perfect in her role as Mrs. Weasley and we need someone equally funny. This comedy actress is famed for being in the IT crowd and more recently BBC's Here We Go, and I think she'd be perfect.
Katherine Parksinson - Molly Weasley
For Aunt Petunia, the main description we have from the books is that she has an extremely long neck. Based on time lines she would also only be in her early 30s. The actress I'm suggesting isn't someone who immediately screamed Petunia to me but the more I thought about it the more I can see her injecting some great comedy into this role.

Marauders things that make me sad...
Surely there must be a way to distract oneself from the intense pain of thinking of any of these things?
- James and Lily dying so young.
- Sirius finding out that his best friend and brother had died and blaming himself.
- Remus alone and in poverty for 12 years.
- Sirius in Azkaban for 12 years, innocent, with his wrist memories.
- Sirius knowing Remus believed him to be guilty.
- Sirius starting to doubt Remus.
- Remus being the sweetest, kindest person around but hating himself for his lycanthropy.
- Remus fighting to protect people who despise werewolves because it's the right thing to do.
- Sirius dying without his name being cleared.
- or finding out what Regulus did.
- Sirius's life consisting of 11 years with pureblood supremacists, 7 years of happiness, interspersed with going home. Around 4 years of fighting, losing his family, 12 years alone in Azkaban, a year on the run, then another under house arrest in the place from which he ran away.
- Dumbledore could have helped Remus to find a job in those 12 years. He could have fought to clear Sirius's name. Neither of these things benefited him.
- Remus getting his last and best friend back for two years before watching him die and having to be strong for another deceased friend's child.
- Remus dying with his wife* and leaving behind a newborn.
- James's parents never meeting Harry.
- James knowing for a matter of seconds that someone he considered as close as a brother had knowingly handed James and his wife and baby over to Voldemort.
- James dying without knowing if Lily and Harry got away.
- Peter
*I don't recognise Remadora, since I'm a Wolfstar fan, but it needed to be included.
I'm sure I'll think of many more. Writing them out actually helped me to not choke on my own tears.

Ooooo. I didn’t think about winning, but if I think about it more, James is down for the count after a few pokes. Sirius probably wins because of his way to bounce around everyone. Lupin is confused about it all at first, but is taken down by a deathly combo of his ears/neck and his feet.
(Peter Pettigew does not exist because how dare he)
Not me getting out of bed to write this but I raise you:
James needs to be quick in order to do well in Quidditch, so he focuses a lot more on being nimble and is therefore not as strong as he might seem.
Remus, in his turn, is terrified of being too strong and somehow hurting people more when he turns into a werewolf. Not to mention he's exhausted more often than not anyway.
Sirius, on the other hand, has such a messed up relationship with his family that he's doing all he can to try to protect himself from them, from mastering spells (he's better in school than you'd think) and self control to working out so that he could deck them if he ever got the chance. Therefore he's surprisingly strong and the only reason he never wins tickle fights is because he enjoys getting wrecked. Unfortunately for him his muscles start showing eventually and they rat him out.

~I am on and off Tumblr because I hit a writer’s blog for fanfiction and a creator’s slump for making things. Slowly, but surely, I am making some progress in things because that’s better than nothing right? However, I was gone for a good portion of this year particularly because of personal issues that I really don’t want to divulge, especially to someone who hides behind an anonymous name. I can choose to disclose this information or not because at the end of the day, it’s MY decision and MINE alone.

~I admit, you got me trembling at first because this ask caught me off guard. This is such a middle/high school thing to say. I’ve been told worse so *shrugs*

~ This is one that I need to crack my knuckles for. Call me a groupie or whatever, I really don’t care. If the “popular people” (as what you call them because I don’t get why this is still an issue...like wtf move on from this stupid topic!) don’t want me...a “groupie”....to associate with them, then they will let me know because we are all adults in this situation and we can talk it out...like...you know...like adults. I don’t know why you are still hung up over calling them “popular people”.
To me, they are just regular, hardworking, wonderful, chaotic, awe-inspiring, goddess-like individuals who happen to accept me for being my chaos walking, WEEEEEEEB, K-pop obsessed, bad guy fangirling to the point that I may need to rethink my life’s decisions, Peter Pettigewing them to the point of interventions, kinda self. We are extremely close and so far, they haven’t gotten tired of my antics....yet (I kid you guys...I kid!) They were there for me at my extreme lowest and that’s something you can’t buy with popularity points: genuine friendship.
I don’t need to name names because they know who they are. To me, they aren’t popular just because they are big names, well known, or whatever it is you deem them popular for. Have you ever tried making a manip image/GIF or tried writing AND updating? It’s fucking difficult, but for these people to churn them out whenever they can, it’s fucking awesome. It’s the things they make and post, AND do for others that warrants well deserved praise. In fact, let’s get rid of that stupid term “popular” because it has brought nothing but drama. They worked hard for their content, so why shouldn’t they be rewarded with some acknowledgment through reviews, likes, reblogs, mentions, etc? In fact, NUMBERS DO NOT DETERMINE YOUR WORTH! WHO CARES HOW MANY FREAKING NOTES ARE ACCUMULATED. IT’S FREAKING RIDICULOUS WHY PEOPLE THINK NUMBERS = POPULARITY. We don’t make ANY money off content (and we definitely shouldn’t because why?????? That’s freaking wrong) and so praises would be nice because it keeps the inspiration train going.

April 25, 1980
A few days after the discovery of Rene Deschamps’ body, an arrest has been made that’s being credited to the investigative work of the same PI that found the body in the first place. Thanks to the work of Marcus Bulstrode, Sam McIver has been brought in on charges of murder and evidence found in their flat suggests their involvement with other crimes they’ve yet to be charged with.
Despite the extensive amount of dead bodies discovered this month, this is the fastest arrest so far this year and by someone that isn’t even part of the DMLE. Head Auror Alastor Moody should perhaps take hints and consider reforming his department since an arrest has yet to be made even in the case of Marlene McKinnon, auror department secretary that had to be identified by Fabian Prewett.
It’s not only murders that the DMLE is failing to solve, but also missing persons cases. Peter Pettigew was missing for so long that he wandered back on his own before ever being discovered by aurors, so for those of you in the public losing faith, try reaching out to a private investigator next time you need something solved.

“I-I don’t know!” Peter nearly cried out as the Death Eaters cornered him in Diagon Alley. He had agreed to join them in a moment of weakness, but now... now he couldn’t get away. He was one of them. And he hated it. “There hasn’t been a meeting yet this week, okay? Cornering me out in public is a bad way for me to keep my cover.” He was scared of them. But he was also trying to keep a brave face. Especially when he saw Sirius’ brother somewhere behind them. “So bugger off, yeah? Before I get killed and you lose me.” Idiots. Peter Pettigew waved awkwardly at Regulus Black once his tormentors had left. “You uh... getting some new books?” Awkward. Idiot.

Sooooo, you basically think Dumbledore is the true villain of the HP franchise. Not that I really care about HP, but care to elaborate?
Ok so, it has been a hot minute since I looked back on the HP franchise and there are other people here on tumblr who can better explain it. To sum it up Dumblrdore is trash and has purposely ruined the lives of MULTIPLE young wizards for his own gain or was unnecessarily cruel. He does it in a way you don't think he is bad on the surface until you really do a deep dive into his actions.
For starters:
After the death of Lily and James Potter, Dumbledore left infant Harry Potter on the doorstep of Petunia and Vernon Dursley, who we all know are abusive assholes. McGonagal had told Dumbledore not to and these people were bad, but he said 'fuck it. ima do it anyway but i'll check up on him occassionally to make ya feel better about it', and then just never did and allowed the abuse to happen. Hell I am not even sure if he even knocked or rang the door bell for the Dursleys to get up and see the baby on the steps. For all we know they found the baby in the morning.
He let Sirius Black rot in Azkaban for the crime of leaking information to Voldemort, who inturn killed the Potters. Dumbledore knew he was innocent and could have prevented him from being thrown in prison. Sirius is Harry's godfather and should have been the one to take him in after the Potter's deaths, but no. Sirius loses his freedom, his friends, and his godson
He also never addressed the visible bullying of students by both teachers and students. Example is Snape on both ends. He was severely bullied by the Marauders (James Potter, Sirius Black, Peter Pettigew, and Remus Lupin). Severus Snape never got help and threw multiple events became the abusive teacher we know, with extra distain for Gryfindor students. I am not trying to defend Snape, but a lot of his action stems from a shit childhood paired bullying, and a whole mess of shit. Snape is also a bully as a teacher and dumbledore over looked this as well because he gives zero fucks unless it relates or is relevant to his long term grand plan

On the Fidelius Charm
Okay so, when the Secret Keeper dies, everyone who knows the Secret is now a Secret Keeper...that seems like a HUGE gap in security. So if Sirius Black HAD been the Keeper and Peter Pettigew HAD just been like. A gormless nitwit that was their pal instead of a traitor. What was to stop the Death Eaters from killing Sirius and THEN torturing the secret out of Pettigew? Like, even if the magic wouldn’t like. Let him reveal it under duress or against his will or whatever, he had a mom. They could have tortured her in front of him to make him reveal the secret. Like, everyone KNEW the four of them were friends, obviously he would know the secret of where they lived even if he wasn’t the Keeper. It’s mentioned that they couldn’t magic the answer from Keepers through like, Imperius or Cruciatus, or Legilimancy, but that doesn’t preclude physical or mental torture. Or bribery. Blackmail. Etc.
Originally this was going to be a rant on, how did the Secret break when Voldemort attacked the Potters, why could everyone see the house and go in after the attack and such, like presumably Hagrid wasn’t let in on the Secret, but uh. I would imagine the Secret breaks when it isn’t true anymore and well...the Potters certainly didn’t LIVE at Godric’s Hollow anymore, did they.
Also like. HOW did people KNOW so fast? The knowledge doesn’t exactly arrive in your brain with a fireworks show, you have to think about it to realise you know what you shouldn’t know, did Dumbledore just have people stationed thinking constantly on where the Potters/Longbottoms lived in case the charm broke? How did Hagrid/Sirius get there before the bodies even cooled?
Also it’s really stupid that James and/or Lily weren’t their own Secret Keepers, but I’m going to chalk that up to poor author planning rather than spell inconsistency/character idiocy, since Bill and Arthur were able to be their own Secret Keepers in Deathly Hallows. JKR does contradict herself frequently.
